  up and hear today's play from first

  Peter 1, which says, "Who have been

  chosen according to the fornowledge of
• 0:14
  God the Father through the sanctifying

  work of the Spirit to be obedient to
• 0:20
  Jesus Christ and sprinkled with his
• 0:22
  blood and obedient children, do not
• 0:25
  conform to the evil desires you had when
• 0:27
  you lived in ignorance. But just as he
• 0:29
  who called you is holy, so be holy in
• 0:32
  all you do. For it is written, "Be holy
• 0:34
  because I am holy." Since you call on a
• 0:37
  father who judges each person's work
• 0:39
  impartially, live out your time as
• 0:41
  foreigners here in reverent fear.

  Brothers, before you lifted a hand
• 0:46
  toward God, he set his hand on you. You

  didn't show choose him. He chose you.

  The spirit chased you down. Jesus

  sprinkled you with his blood to claim

  you as his own. That means your identity

  isn't tied to your paycheck, your

  success, your failures, or your past.

  You're a chosen man set apart a holy man

  because God has made you holy in Christ.

  But here's the tension. If God has made

  us holy, we must now live holy. Peter

  says, "Do not conform to the evil

  desires you had when you lived in
• 1:18
  ignorance." In other words, don't go ma

  back to the man you used to be. Holy men
• 1:23
  don't drift in into holiness. Holy men
• 1:26
  choose obedience. Holy men say no to
• 1:29
  lust, pride, anger, laziness, and
• 1:31
  compromise. Holy men lead their families
• 1:34
  toward Christ, not toward comfort. Holy
• 1:37
  men show the world through their daily
• 1:39
  walk. The character of God who saved
• 1:41
  them. And Peter reminds us, we are
• 1:43
  foreigners here. The world is not our
• 1:46
  home. Your career isn't your home. Your
• 1:48
  comfort isn't your home. Your hobbies
• 1:50
  aren't your home. Heaven is your home.

  And your jud father judges each man
• 1:56
  impartially. So every day matters. Every
• 1:59
  choice matters. Every attitude and habit

  is shaping the legacy you will leave

  behind. So run today's playmen. Lay down

  anything in your life that belongs to

  the old you. Whatever is unholy, put it

  to death. The step then step into

  obedience in some clear concrete way.

  Have the hard conversation. Confess the

  hidden sin. Lead your family in prayer.

  Reject the temptation you've been

  entertaining. Do the thing you know God

  is calling you to do. Men, God has

  chosen you. Now live like a chosen man.

  Live holy. Live bold. Live for the one
