- 0:24Speaker 3: were you scaring all the fishwave?
- 0:27Speaker 2: I always find it weird.
- 0:28Speaker 3: It's like when I come back from the batch and
- 0:30Speaker 3: go straight into doing the show, where you go from
- 0:32Speaker 3: a really yeah, well it's just you're in this really
- 0:36Speaker 3: beautiful environment. The beach is beautiful and stuff, and then
- 0:40Speaker 3: you go back and and you're talking ship on the
- 0:42Speaker 3: on the radio.
- 0:43Speaker 1: But you could make that your reality though.
- 0:45Speaker 4: Tony can help you with that.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Man into what make you mean move Keezy? Well I could.
- 0:52Speaker 1: I could and move into the city.
- 0:56Speaker 2: And do the show like remotely.
- 0:57Speaker 4: Oh no, you'll have to leave the show.
- 0:59Speaker 2: I'd have to.
- 1:00Speaker 4: Yeah, that will be the end of the road for you, absolutely, febles.
- 1:03Speaker 2: I wouldn't want to let the fellows down.
- 1:05Speaker 4: I'm okay, We're all good.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Oh.
- 1:08Speaker 4: I want you to be happy. That's the important thing
- 1:10Speaker 4: for me. If it means moving to Mangifi Heads and
- 1:12Speaker 4: cutting the Big Show then so be it.
- 1:14Speaker 5: Ah, But you know what I mean, though, like you
- 1:17Speaker 5: could make that happen if that's your dream. I feel
- 1:19Speaker 5: like your dream would be to live somebody like the
- 1:21Speaker 5: Batch or like Munga Fire, maybe not as as remote
- 1:23Speaker 5: as the Batch.
- 1:24Speaker 2: It used to be my dream.
- 1:26Speaker 4: Not anymore. Here is big city life. Are your dreamers? Well?
- 1:30Speaker 3: Yeah, Funnily enough, I bumped into our old mate, Liam Dan.
- 1:36Speaker 4: I was talking to me. He said, he was going
- 1:37Speaker 4: to check you one hundred and fifty k to go
- 1:39Speaker 4: into your Yeah, he's keeping buses and the stick mags,
- 1:43Speaker 4: stickmegs and toasted sandwiches.
- 1:45Speaker 3: Yes, and yes, we were talking about it, and you know,
- 1:52Speaker 3: saying I have an apartment in town.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Now I rent an apartment. I don't have an apartment,
- 1:57Speaker 2: and I'm loving it.
- 1:58Speaker 3: And I said to him, if you had to see
- 2:00Speaker 3: me five ten years ago, I'd go and live in
- 2:02Speaker 3: the CBD. I would have gone, fuck, no, no way
- 2:05Speaker 3: would I be into that. And my dream was always
- 2:08Speaker 3: Corrimandel or somewhere really, but I've realized my reality, and
- 2:12Speaker 3: my reality is I do not have the brain for that.
- 2:15Speaker 1: No, you'll go crazy.
- 2:16Speaker 2: I would go mad, right.
- 2:20Speaker 3: I have these fantasies of loving it and being like,
- 2:23Speaker 3: I would love to live by the beach. That would
- 2:25Speaker 3: be great, genuinely, but I would need more going on
- 2:29Speaker 3: because if if I'm not doing shit, I'm a mad bastard.
- 2:33Speaker 1: You would be a mad bustard. Can might I suggest
- 2:35Speaker 1: Mount Momma Nui?
- 2:36Speaker 2: No?
- 2:37Speaker 4: I think, I said, is good, and then you've got
- 2:39Speaker 4: the batch. That's right.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Well, that's the other side.
- 2:42Speaker 4: I was talking about you two, your stepfather, your father
- 2:45Speaker 4: in law, I should say yes, and he said he's
- 2:47Speaker 4: sort of headed up to here. I was telling them
- 2:51Speaker 4: that I reckon that he needs to pull the plug
- 2:53Speaker 4: on your dowin out there. Yes, it's not good for
- 2:55Speaker 4: your mental health. Sometimes it's not. Sometimes it's rainy, Yeah,
- 3:00Speaker 4: you get really down. Yeah, sometimes there's people there exactly.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:03Speaker 4: And I said, could you sort out your booking system
- 3:05Speaker 4: at least man? What are you? Jason is you're a
- 3:07Speaker 4: shocking burst.
- 3:08Speaker 1: And then Pizza and I it was a past taken
- 3:10Speaker 1: to that intentionally because we.
- 3:12Speaker 3: Haven't actually been there since October last year. That's crazy
- 3:15Speaker 3: realized and we're like, fuck, I've got my mother coming
- 3:19Speaker 3: up this weekend. Only booked her in on Marge me
- 3:22Speaker 3: Old Marge the only booked her in a couple of
- 3:24Speaker 3: days ago the year, and and then my cousin who
- 3:27Speaker 3: lives on Wyhike, was texting me yesterday and saying, oh,
- 3:30Speaker 3: what are you doing, Foresa. We're going to be awake
- 3:31Speaker 3: and have her house on Wayhiki Awesome? No, no, because
- 3:35Speaker 3: coming and she can't go. There's not enough room for ma.
- 3:38Speaker 3: So she can stay at our place in the city
- 3:40Speaker 3: actually and look after the cat and me and the
- 3:43Speaker 3: missus and the kid can go over to White He.
- 3:45Speaker 1: So Marg and bird shit Cress at your house. Yeah,
- 3:47Speaker 1: that's watching. Come down with me.
- 3:49Speaker 4: Hey, can we I'm sorry to do this, Fellows, but
- 3:51Speaker 4: I really want to talk about the play. Oh yeah, sure,
- 3:54Speaker 4: that I saw over the weekend because we don't have
- 3:55Speaker 4: time to do it properly. The play that Jason's wife
- 3:59Speaker 4: was in. I really enjoyed it. Did you go to it?
- 4:01Speaker 4: I did? I went on late night. That was that
- 4:03Speaker 4: photo see the photo in the chat with Jason's entire
- 4:07Speaker 4: extended family. Yes, I was on the person on set.
- 4:11Speaker 4: I do wonder about that. You came in with another comment.
- 4:15Speaker 4: But it was long. Yes, it was longer than I
- 4:19Speaker 4: thought it would be because I think it started just
- 4:21Speaker 4: after eight and got out at about twenty past twenty
- 4:24Speaker 4: five past ten.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Jesus was it that?
- 4:26Speaker 3: It wasn't that long for me? Oh, I'll tell you why, Mogi.
- 4:30Speaker 3: They had technical issues, so did they? Yes, for the
- 4:33Speaker 3: second half a that was so Yeah, there was a
- 4:36Speaker 3: delay going on.
- 4:37Speaker 2: It's funny you say that because you would have met Miriam.
- 4:40Speaker 4: I did it.
- 4:40Speaker 2: Yes, sure I did. She she said to my wife
- 4:45Speaker 2: father in law. Yes, she said to my that's the.
- 4:47Speaker 4: One you bought, the sixty lingerie.
- 4:49Speaker 2: No, no, that no, I bought that my wife's mom.
- 4:52Speaker 2: Oh sorry, yeah, yeah. Yeah.
- 4:53Speaker 3: She came out to after, I mean my wife after
- 4:57Speaker 3: the play and said, well, it's a very long play.
- 5:01Speaker 4: See that's what we talked about. My wife was like, okay,
- 5:08Speaker 4: the first coming out. That's a good one. Yes, that's
- 5:11Speaker 4: a good one.
- 5:12Speaker 3: But then, in her defense, she wrote a very long
- 5:15Speaker 3: description of what she enjoyed about it in.
- 5:17Speaker 4: The family did she there you go? Yes, I really
- 5:20Speaker 4: enjoyed it. I thought all of the performances except for one,
- 5:25Speaker 4: were very good.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Yes.
- 5:28Speaker 4: I thought the young fella in it was very good. Yes,
- 5:31Speaker 4: I met him afterwards. I thought he was like thirty eight.
- 5:34Speaker 2: No, he's just a young fellow.
- 5:36Speaker 4: He's twenty six there, guy, fucking yeah, he's twenty No.
- 5:39Speaker 1: I thought it was like forty, isn't that here? The
- 5:43Speaker 1: who Rearchy Big Show Days from four on Radio Hierarchy
- 5:49Speaker 1: The Wracky Big Show Podcast.
- 5:51Speaker 4: What there's players about is people as women at various
- 5:54Speaker 4: stages of trying to or not have kids at very
- 5:58Speaker 4: sort of ages, and the different way that you can
- 6:00Speaker 4: approach it very good because there's IVF chair in there,
- 6:02Speaker 4: which my wife and I went through and all of
- 6:05Speaker 4: that sort of stuff, and it's fuck, it is fucking heroine.
- 6:08Speaker 4: It's really for oh my god, it's a fucking nightmare. Yes,
- 6:12Speaker 4: and how that because we were similar to that character.
- 6:15Speaker 4: They said they would never do it. Yeah, we said
- 6:17Speaker 4: we would never do it. If you couldn't have kids,
- 6:19Speaker 4: then that's stature, yes, And then of course you can't
- 6:22Speaker 4: have kids and fuck you, oh kids, and then you
- 6:24Speaker 4: start going down and it's fucking expensive and all that
- 6:27Speaker 4: sort of stuff and it doesn't work for us. So
- 6:30Speaker 4: I thought it was Yeah. I thought it was really good,
- 6:33Speaker 4: and I thought he was very good. I know what
- 6:35Speaker 4: you mean. But you did say about upstaging, but I
- 6:38Speaker 4: think there was a need to lighten some of the tone.
- 6:40Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yeah, but I thought, yeah, the actors were
- 6:43Speaker 4: really good. Gosh was great. I thought one thing about
- 6:46Speaker 4: which I didn't like about what she had to do
- 6:50Speaker 4: was everybody else had their dramatic hurdle. There's a different
- 6:55Speaker 4: term for it, but you learned about them, and then
- 6:58Speaker 4: the dramatic hurdle came up quickly, and then it was
- 7:00Speaker 4: about them trying to get over that for the rest
- 7:02Speaker 4: of the play, Like you knew what everybody's issue was,
- 7:04Speaker 4: but for her just didn't it come for a very
- 7:07Speaker 4: long time. Yes, yeah, yeah, And I don't know why
- 7:10Speaker 4: they did that, yeah, because it should have been earlier.
- 7:12Speaker 4: So for your wife's character, she was a professional woman
- 7:17Speaker 4: that had had kids, got them off to school, and
- 7:18Speaker 4: was coming back to the workforce and then ended up
- 7:21Speaker 4: getting pregnant again. Yes, but that part of it didn't
- 7:23Speaker 4: happen till very very late, and so she was just
- 7:26Speaker 4: a woman that was sort of going through and she
- 7:27Speaker 4: didn't wasn't really trying to get it, you know. And
- 7:29Speaker 4: if they brought that forward, and then the thing was
- 7:33Speaker 4: that the husband would have wanted to have another kid,
- 7:34Speaker 4: and then it was her trying to get through that
- 7:38Speaker 4: decision more, yes, and so there was more drama for
- 7:41Speaker 4: her earlier ones that would make more sense.
- 7:43Speaker 2: I agree.
- 7:44Speaker 4: Yeah, I thought that was because it happened very quick
- 7:46Speaker 4: and then she was bang bang bang, and that was it. Yes,
- 7:48Speaker 4: it was odd, it was.
- 7:49Speaker 3: Odd, but yeah, great stuff got on and radio hodak.
- 7:55Speaker 3: You got a couple of mentions at the end of
- 7:56Speaker 3: the night.
- 7:57Speaker 4: Oh I did that.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Yeah, well, because they sold out, ah and one good and.
- 8:03Speaker 3: There were a couple of nights where they were literally
- 8:05Speaker 3: turning people away, right, and they said, that's just awesome.
- 8:09Speaker 4: Yeah, it's brilliant.
- 8:09Speaker 2: It is.
- 8:10Speaker 4: It doesn't happen, and I wouldn't have I don't know,
- 8:12Speaker 4: but also certainly doesn't happen.
- 8:14Speaker 5: Funny thing is the big show and theater do not. Well,
- 8:17Speaker 5: you're not synonymous our listeners.
- 8:18Speaker 1: That I mean, I can't imagine any of them going
- 8:20Speaker 1: to the theater.
- 8:21Speaker 4: Well, I can tell you how many backbones I saw
- 8:23Speaker 4: in the crowd, and that was none. Yes, except for
- 8:25Speaker 4: your daughters, both of whom I've got a lot of time,
- 8:31Speaker 4: especially your youngest one. Yeah, very very funny.
- 8:34Speaker 2: Yes, she enjoyed chatting to you.
- 8:36Speaker 4: She is great. I'd like to spend more time with her.
- 8:38Speaker 4: She's very funny.
- 8:40Speaker 3: She is really fun she is, and it's like I've
- 8:42Speaker 3: told you, there's been times, many times where she's cut
- 8:46Speaker 3: me down, very, very sharply, and I've been like.
- 8:50Speaker 4: That's the thing, because they're learning from the best son,
- 8:55Speaker 4: apprenticeship from a fucking guy that's greater.
- 8:58Speaker 3: But you know, my wife know we're talking about it,
- 9:01Speaker 3: how you know, because our family we do a lot
- 9:06Speaker 3: of chat and it's a lot of humor involved in
- 9:08Speaker 3: our chat. And she's found often when she goes out
- 9:13Speaker 3: with other people that there's not there's not the same
- 9:16Speaker 3: level of comedy.
- 9:18Speaker 5: And do you do you ever become self aware of
- 9:21Speaker 5: the fact that you're providing all the entertainment whenever you do,
- 9:23Speaker 5: like a when we go out for dinner with certain people,
- 9:26Speaker 5: and to be honest, it's no one we hang out
- 9:28Speaker 5: with now you go, fucking hell, we're doing about eighty
- 9:30Speaker 5: percent of the lifting here totally.
- 9:32Speaker 3: But that's also because I'm one of those people that
- 9:36Speaker 3: in a social environment and it's nothing happening, I feel
- 9:40Speaker 3: obliged to talk.
- 9:41Speaker 4: Otherwise throw people out halfway through a drink exactly.
- 9:45Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Yeah, But.
- 9:47Speaker 3: And I noticed that, you know, going up to my
- 9:49Speaker 3: wife's mother's place and munga fire there with my other daughter.
- 9:54Speaker 3: It's interesting family dynamics, like I am definitely the idiot
- 9:59Speaker 3: of the family, an idiot one hundred.
- 10:02Speaker 2: And they just all look at me like an idiot.
- 10:05Speaker 4: Yes.
- 10:05Speaker 3: I was like, you were an idiot, and I go, okay,
- 10:09Speaker 3: that's happened to me.
- 10:09Speaker 1: Do you ever do stuff that's not in their eyes?
- 10:12Speaker 4: Like wow, dad, well done. Oh I don't even know
- 10:16Speaker 4: if they'd say that. No, yeah, when was the last time.
- 10:20Speaker 5: So that's something you've done that was really clever and
- 10:24Speaker 5: maybe figured something out or I don't know, or is
- 10:26Speaker 5: your job just to be the idiot?
- 10:28Speaker 2: Well?
- 10:28Speaker 3: You know, like I daughter Scarlet was like, I'm so
- 10:30Speaker 3: proud of you guys for moving to the CBD.
- 10:33Speaker 4: There you go.
- 10:34Speaker 2: She's very proud.
- 10:35Speaker 4: Was like, whatever, man, don't talk to me. Man, I'm
- 10:39Speaker 4: an undercommunicator. I learned more about you from sitting next
- 10:43Speaker 4: to your daughters, and I've went from you and what
- 10:45Speaker 4: five or six years that would make sense. That was
- 10:47Speaker 4: showing me photos telling me, yes, change has got a
- 10:50Speaker 4: prop box.
- 10:52Speaker 1: I want to sit next to them and learn from them.
- 10:54Speaker 2: A prop box.
- 10:55Speaker 4: Prop box every now and again, a prop box comes
- 10:57Speaker 4: out and out of the prop box some assuming it's
- 11:00Speaker 4: from your sugar and spice days, Uh, dildo will come
- 11:04Speaker 4: out any number of things.
- 11:07Speaker 3: We did have a sugar and spice box that was
- 11:09Speaker 3: filled with six.
- 11:10Speaker 4: Yes, and so one of your daughters was talking about that.
- 11:13Speaker 3: Yeah, Scarlet was who one of them brought. And I
- 11:16Speaker 3: think I've told you this story. We literally had people over.
- 11:20Speaker 6: And Garlet and it was a massive vibrator which she
- 11:30Speaker 6: had turned on and she was like, and the two
- 11:34Speaker 6: people that were with.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Us were really straight.
- 11:36Speaker 3: How old was she, I don't know, seven or eight maybe,
- 11:40Speaker 3: And she put it on the on the bench and
- 11:43Speaker 3: it was it was vibrating on the bench and she
- 11:45Speaker 3: was like, what's that?
- 11:47Speaker 2: Yeah, and Cosh and I were like, oh fucking hell.
- 11:51Speaker 3: Good because it was genuinely a sugar and spice prop.
- 11:55Speaker 3: And we were like, oh, that's a prop. And the
- 11:58Speaker 3: people here.
- 12:03Speaker 4: And then your other daughter there was talking about I
- 12:06Speaker 4: should stumbled across your old sugar and spice videos, all right,
- 12:12Speaker 4: and lots of fallacies and so for a teenage girl,
- 12:17Speaker 4: she was, you know, one of those things where it's
- 12:20Speaker 4: sort of a famed Oh God, but really imagine having
- 12:26Speaker 4: a boring dead.
- 12:27Speaker 2: Yes, well, I don't know if I'm a boring dead.
- 12:30Speaker 1: I don't think so. Man, Hey, listen to the Big
- 12:33Speaker 1: Show for seven.
- 12:34Speaker 4: But I really loved it. I really enjoyed the place
- 12:36Speaker 4: and it was great to see.
- 12:37Speaker 3: I agree with your analysis, you absolutely, I agree.
- 12:42Speaker 4: Out a teen.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Give it a four.
- 12:46Speaker 4: I reckon it's I reckon it is a four oead
- 12:51Speaker 4: of five buzzies because I really enjoyed the thing. Now
- 12:53Speaker 4: is that the bit Like, as you said, it.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Was the best player in the world.
- 12:56Speaker 4: But I really enjoyed the same. I still really enjoyed it.
- 12:58Speaker 4: I'll tell you what. It was a lot better than
- 13:00Speaker 4: I was anticipating.
- 13:01Speaker 2: So yeah, yeah, great.
- 13:03Speaker 5: I was like, oh girl, and my wife was even
- 13:04Speaker 5: talking about if we read the synopsis of that, like nah.
- 13:07Speaker 4: Yeah, exactly.
- 13:08Speaker 2: No.
- 13:08Speaker 4: They did a great and they did a great job,
- 13:10Speaker 4: especially knowing, you know, coming from the ivy of stuff.
- 13:12Speaker 4: It was really good. Yeah.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Its called called Seed. By the way, listen the ex
- 13:16Speaker 1: fort Us in the Weekdays
