- 0:50Speaker 2: Hey Frank, how are you.
- 0:51Speaker 3: I'm doing well, my friends. So I had a question
- 0:54Speaker 3: for you as about It's about Edge Rusher, and I
- 0:56Speaker 3: just wanted your takes on like these three players and
- 0:58Speaker 3: if you could tell me what you think on these
- 1:00Speaker 3: guys like Romelo Height, I know he's really undersized, Joshua
- 1:04Speaker 3: Joseph's and Keyran Crawford.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Well, to me, the most interesting because he didn't play
- 1:10Speaker 2: football until a senior season in high school and he's
- 1:13Speaker 2: bigger than the other guys is Keyron Crawford from Auburn.
- 1:17Speaker 2: He's over sixty four, he's two fifty three, so you'd
- 1:20Speaker 2: have to assume you could probably get him, you know,
- 1:22Speaker 2: closer to two sixty. I think his tape was was
- 1:26Speaker 2: pretty good. I mean, I think at times he looks
- 1:29Speaker 2: sudden and explosive. The question is do they see him?
- 1:33Speaker 2: You know, obviously their base front is a five to two,
- 1:36Speaker 2: but you can certainly rush the quarterback off the edge
- 1:39Speaker 2: if you're two fifty five to two sixty. You know,
- 1:42Speaker 2: I think that this guy to me, And again, the
- 1:46Speaker 2: main thing about the draft, and I think a lot
- 1:48Speaker 2: of people lose sight of this, is it's not just
- 1:50Speaker 2: what a player is now, particularly as you get later
- 1:53Speaker 2: in the draft. You know, if you're drafting guy in
- 1:55Speaker 2: the third round, you know, look would be wonderful if
- 2:00Speaker 2: if he you know, contributes as a rookie.
- 2:01Speaker 4: Yes, you love him to do.
- 2:02Speaker 2: So it's third round, it's not fifth or sixth round.
- 2:05Speaker 2: But you also and I've had this guy. I had
- 2:07Speaker 2: this conversation with a former GM this week about the
- 2:10Speaker 2: balance between what a player is now and what you
- 2:13Speaker 2: think he can become. And I think that's an important conversation.
- 2:17Speaker 2: And because fans, particularly on either bad teams or teams
- 2:20Speaker 2: that have a defined weakness like the Eagles. Franket at
- 2:23Speaker 2: edge pass rusher. You know fans want them to draft
- 2:25Speaker 2: a guy who can step right in and be a
- 2:27Speaker 2: great pass rusher. Well, that's not likely to happen. But
- 2:31Speaker 2: to me, of the three you mentioned, I like what
- 2:34Speaker 2: Crawford can become the most of those three guys.
- 2:38Speaker 5: Quick quick question the offensive guard. I know that's not
- 2:42Speaker 5: normally your first round pick, but your thoughts on someone
- 2:46Speaker 5: in the second that we're third round, someone named Eagles
- 2:49Speaker 5: might be might be good for the Eagles, someone athletic.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Look, Jurgens is supposedly healthy. Now they sign him to
- 2:55Speaker 2: a contract, He's not going anywhere. He's going to be
- 2:58Speaker 2: the center. Dickerson is an interesting chase because you know,
- 3:01Speaker 2: his body is just unfortunately kind of falling apart, and
- 3:04Speaker 2: and with his injuries, he's not likely to ever be,
- 3:07Speaker 2: you know, in a sense, perfectly normal. So left guard,
- 3:10Speaker 2: you know, could be a position I you know, again,
- 3:13Speaker 2: I have no idea where guys are going to get drafted.
- 3:15Speaker 2: I don't make up mock drafts like everybody else does.
- 3:19Speaker 2: There's a there's a couple of left guards that I
- 3:21Speaker 2: think are really good prospects. Whether they're there when the
- 3:24Speaker 2: Eagles draft either you know, whether they see them as
- 3:29Speaker 2: first round players or whether they're in the second round.
- 3:31Speaker 2: There's a kid I really like from Georgia Tech, nic
- 3:34Speaker 2: Keelan Rutledge, who you know, again could well be there.
- 3:38Speaker 2: I don't know the answer to that. There's Chase Basantis
- 3:41Speaker 2: from Texas A and M. Because I think the Penn
- 3:44Speaker 2: State guard will probably be gone, and you know, he
- 3:48Speaker 2: seems to be the one that everybody is focused on
- 3:50Speaker 2: as being, you know, a relatively high pick for a guard.
- 3:54Speaker 2: But Reutlaive was a guy. The more I watched him,
- 3:57Speaker 2: the more I really really liked him.
- 4:00Speaker 4: When you're evaluating players, you have to or I shouldn't
- 4:06Speaker 4: say it that, like, how do you if you do
- 4:10Speaker 4: evaluate the player based on the talent level their facing.
- 4:16Speaker 2: Obviously you would much prefer to see players against really
- 4:20Speaker 2: good opponents. You know, when you're watching let's say an
- 4:23Speaker 2: offensive tackle, you'd love to see them against you know,
- 4:26Speaker 2: quality pass rushers as opposed to nothing against McNee State.
- 4:30Speaker 2: But you brought it up. You know you'd rather see that.
- 4:34Speaker 2: But then you also do have to look at at
- 4:36Speaker 2: their traits and attributes, and then you do have to
- 4:39Speaker 2: make a subjective call. And that's where it's no matter
- 4:42Speaker 2: what metrics people use, it still comes down to human beings.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Evaluating human beings. You have to make a subjective call
- 4:49Speaker 2: as to whether you you think those traits are translatable
- 4:53Speaker 2: to the next level. You know, then it becomes a
- 4:55Speaker 2: projection and a transition, because that's ultimately what we're doing.
- 4:58Speaker 6: You know.
- 4:59Speaker 2: That's why when people immediately start out, you know, so
- 5:03Speaker 2: called draft gurus, and they tell you what a guy's
- 5:05Speaker 2: stats are in college, that immediately tells me they're probably
- 5:08Speaker 2: not studying tape in great detail. Because stats, it's not
- 5:12Speaker 2: that they're meaningless mark, but they're not. That's not ultimately
- 5:17Speaker 2: what you're what you're evaluating.
- 5:21Speaker 6: Earlier this week, some guys I follow on Twitter brought
- 5:25Speaker 6: up a name of quarterback Haines King. But I was wondering,
- 5:29Speaker 6: what what did his tape look like when you when
- 5:31Speaker 6: you watched it.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Yeah, he's well, he's a fun player to watch because
- 5:35Speaker 2: he's he's he's a dual threat guy all the way
- 5:38Speaker 2: and you can just see the competitiveness and toughness. I
- 5:41Speaker 2: know people who know him well, and he is all football.
- 5:44Speaker 2: He just lives it and breathes it. People say the
- 5:47Speaker 2: work ethic, just the the competitiveness, and the guy is
- 5:50Speaker 2: just off the charts. So the main thing with King,
- 5:55Speaker 2: and by the way, while he can run and is
- 5:57Speaker 2: and is definitely dual threat, he's not a guy that
- 6:00Speaker 2: it looks to just run out of the pocket. Most
- 6:04Speaker 2: of his runs, the high percentage of his runs or
- 6:06Speaker 2: design runs. He only had about twenty scrambles this year.
- 6:10Speaker 2: He doesn't just look to leave the pocket. The main
- 6:13Speaker 2: thing with him is can you get him to be
- 6:16Speaker 2: a better thrower. He's he's definitely got limitations from an
- 6:19Speaker 2: arm strength perspective, and again, arm strength isn't to be
- 6:22Speaker 2: all end all. You don't have to have a gun,
- 6:24Speaker 2: but there are certain things you have to be able
- 6:26Speaker 2: to do. You know. But the more you watch him,
- 6:31Speaker 2: he's one of those guys, well, the more you watch him,
- 6:33Speaker 2: the more you like him.
- 6:33Speaker 5: I asked the question simply about we'll say, like the
- 6:36Speaker 5: Jelix Hunt rounds of potential players.
- 6:39Speaker 4: Specifically, I'm looking at one guy, Jason Thomas. He's probably
- 6:43Speaker 4: third rounder.
- 6:44Speaker 5: Yeah, it's probably accurate.
- 6:45Speaker 2: Yeah. Now, now see here's a perfect example getting back
- 6:48Speaker 2: to edge rushers, which is what he is. But he's
- 6:50Speaker 2: six to two and a quarter and he's two forty one.
- 6:52Speaker 2: Now he's got juice. I mean, you know, but you
- 6:54Speaker 2: have to keep in mind guys like that, you know,
- 6:58Speaker 2: they're going to be trying to win against guys that
- 7:01Speaker 2: weigh seventy eighty pounds. More So, the question with someone
- 7:04Speaker 2: like Thomas, because he does have juice off the edge
- 7:06Speaker 2: without question, but can he win with power as part
- 7:09Speaker 2: of his edge rush toolbox? You know, that's the question.
- 7:12Speaker 2: So guys like that have to be really effective with
- 7:15Speaker 2: their hand usage because they have to work through contact
- 7:18Speaker 2: at the NFL level. They're not just going to run
- 7:20Speaker 2: around left tackles or right to whatever wherever we line.
- 7:23Speaker 2: I'm up, he lines up on both sides. But you
- 7:26Speaker 2: know he's he's definitely a good player. You know, I
- 7:29Speaker 2: thought he did even though his arm length isn't great.
- 7:31Speaker 2: I thought he used his arm extension effectively. You know,
- 7:35Speaker 2: he knew how to use his arms just like Ruben
- 7:37Speaker 2: Bain does. He's not Ruben Bain, but I mean he
- 7:39Speaker 2: knows how to use his arm length even though it's
- 7:42Speaker 2: not long. So there's something there with him. And because
- 7:45Speaker 2: he does have juice and explosive burst off the ball,
- 7:48Speaker 2: he'll be an interesting guy.
- 7:50Speaker 7: Hey, Philly fans, game day is stressful enough. Parking, traffic,
- 7:54Speaker 7: long lines, We've all been there. But when it comes
- 7:57Speaker 7: to your cannabis, cam din Apothecary make see it easy.

- 8:11Speaker 7: about convenience. Cam Den Apothecary is all about the guest experience.

- 8:45Speaker 7: great prices, and an experience made for Philly fans twenty
- 8:48Speaker 7: one and up.
- 8:49Speaker 8: So I kind of had a question about like critical
- 8:51Speaker 8: factors when you're evaluating players. When did you like learn
- 8:56Speaker 8: like what specific critical factors are like, like, for you're
- 9:01Speaker 8: a quarterback guy, so when it comes to quarterbacks, I'm
- 9:03Speaker 8: assuming like plam is a critical factor.
- 9:06Speaker 2: Yeah no, No, that was an overtime kind of thing, Eddie,
- 9:08Speaker 2: Like I didn't just you know there, you could go
- 9:11Speaker 2: online and look that stuff up and there'd be lists
- 9:13Speaker 2: of critical factors. I mean that's the way a lot
- 9:16Speaker 2: of scouts, Like if you go back to the old
- 9:19Speaker 2: Dallas Cowboys when they had you know, Gil Brand tech Shram,
- 9:23Speaker 2: they came up with this list of critical factors for
- 9:26Speaker 2: every position, and a lot of coaches rely on that.
- 9:30Speaker 2: Nick Saban relied on that, you know, through much of
- 9:32Speaker 2: his career. There are certain critical factors at every position.
- 9:35Speaker 2: So I've sort of learned that just over time. You know,
- 9:38Speaker 2: it's I didn't. I don't have a list you know
- 9:40Speaker 2: that that I look at and go, oh, quarterback, Well,
- 9:42Speaker 2: he's got to throw it accurate. I mean, I've been
- 9:44Speaker 2: doing this a long time now, so a lot of
- 9:46Speaker 2: that stuff's just ingrained in my head when I watch
- 9:49Speaker 2: you know, players like you know, you're just talking about
- 9:51Speaker 2: a pass rusher. And I've been fortunate enough to go
- 9:54Speaker 2: to an event called a Line Masterminds and you talk
- 9:56Speaker 2: to offensive linemen and they tell you, you know, what
- 9:59Speaker 2: gives them trouble. They tell you what guys have to
- 10:01Speaker 2: do to be able to win as pass rushers. So
- 10:04Speaker 2: then you learn, okay, well, if guys can't do what
- 10:06Speaker 2: they're telling me, then they're not going to be able
- 10:09Speaker 2: to rest the quarterback really well. So it's just accumulated
- 10:12Speaker 2: over time. So when I watch I don't have to
- 10:15Speaker 2: sit here and say, oh, I'm looking at this guy,
- 10:18Speaker 2: gee can he do that? It just it's just in
- 10:20Speaker 2: my head, you know, Just like sometimes people ask me
- 10:22Speaker 2: when I watch the NFL. They'll say, well, like, what
- 10:24Speaker 2: do you look at first when you watch a play?
- 10:27Speaker 2: And I can't answer that. I just see things, you know.
- 10:29Speaker 2: It's just I just see it now. I go back
- 10:31Speaker 2: and see each play, you know, more than one time,
- 10:34Speaker 2: you know, but I just you know, it's not like
- 10:36Speaker 2: I say, Okay, i'm looking at this play, I'm going
- 10:38Speaker 2: to look at the coverage first, or I'm going to
- 10:40Speaker 2: look at this first. It just I just see it.
- 10:43Speaker 5: Oh, Greg, you know, I just wanted to ask you
- 10:45Speaker 5: to get your thoughts on a dermad McCoy.
- 10:48Speaker 2: Yeah I do. I'm so happy I did him last
- 10:50Speaker 2: summer in detail, because then I didn't have to do
- 10:52Speaker 2: him again because he didn't play this year. Now, he
- 10:55Speaker 2: played a lot of press last year. Now it's not
- 10:57Speaker 2: it's not that he can only play press. I thought
- 11:00Speaker 2: he played zone well in addition to playing press. But
- 11:03Speaker 2: I thought he was really good in what we call
- 11:05Speaker 2: mirror match press, where you just sort of get in
- 11:08Speaker 2: the hip pocket of the receiver based on his release.
- 11:11Speaker 2: He was also physical. I mean he's long, he's six'.
- 11:13Speaker 2: One you, KNOW i like the. PLAYER i, MEAN i
- 11:17Speaker 2: think he's an easy. MOVER i happen to. Like you,
- 11:20Speaker 2: know maybe it's just sort of more recency, biased BUT
- 11:23Speaker 2: i like delaying a little. More but McCoy is certainly
- 11:26Speaker 2: a really good, prospect AND i think he can play.
- 11:30Speaker 2: MAN i think he can play. ZONE i, mean, yeah
- 11:33Speaker 2: in many, ways he's a Good he's a good fit
- 11:35Speaker 2: in almost any system because he can do.
- 11:38Speaker 7: BOTH i, know sometimes you have certain players you like to.
- 11:41Speaker 7: Like for, Example Ed rusher spin. Move if you were
- 11:44Speaker 7: to bring out some, tape you'd probably Show, freeenye, Right
- 11:47Speaker 7: Dwight freeney one of the best.
- 11:49Speaker 2: Spin greatest spin move, guy which and that's a counter
- 11:52Speaker 2: a spin moves a counter, right?
- 11:54Speaker 7: Right is there someone that you think has always had
- 11:57Speaker 7: elite hand usage that you were just talking out as
- 12:00Speaker 7: an edge.
- 12:00Speaker 2: RUSHER i Think Nick bosa has really good hand. Usages
- 12:03Speaker 2: Nick bosa is a master at initiating and then playing
- 12:06Speaker 2: off contact with his. Hands and there's different ways to
- 12:10Speaker 2: use your. Hands not everybody does the same. Thing you,
- 12:12Speaker 2: know there's all kinds of. Moves there's there's, rips there's,
- 12:15Speaker 2: swipes there's you, know there's there's multiple different ways to do.
- 12:19Speaker 2: It and but you, KNOW i think someone Like Nick
- 12:22Speaker 2: bosa is really really good at. That he'd be one
- 12:25Speaker 2: of the first guys that comes to my. Mind Miles
- 12:28Speaker 2: garrett's a little different cat because he's just so big
- 12:31Speaker 2: and so. Strong you, know he's two hundred and seventy,
- 12:34Speaker 2: five two hundred eighty. POUNDS i, mean he's just a
- 12:37Speaker 2: big dude who's so. Powerful
