No way to sugar coat this one…not a lot of love for The Beachcomber (1954) on this week’s show. This mid-century adventure comedy is probably best known today for the first credited screen appearance of legend Donald Pleasance, but Robert Newton was the headliner of this film. A drunken mess of a main character and some plot elements that did not age well is just the surface on this elephant stomping time.
