Post’s lasting influence stems from its fundamental reimagining of what pop music could accommodate. By 1995, alternative rock had codified into its own set of conventions, electronic music remained largely confined to dance floors and art installations, and mainstream pop clung to increasingly formulaic approaches to melody and production. Post exploded these boundaries not through rejection but through synthesis, creating a template for how seemingly incompatible musical languages could not only coexist but enhance each other.
