Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Here's your host, Alex Garrett. All right, well here on
- 0:05Speaker 1: one leg up on news.
- 0:06Speaker 2: It's that feature today as there are a couple of
- 0:09Speaker 2: news items on both sides of the isle I'd like
- 0:11Speaker 2: to talk about. And firstly, yesterday it was announced the
- 0:16Speaker 2: White House is taking over the control of the press Corps,
- 0:22Speaker 2: meaning they will dictate who will be able to cover
- 0:25Speaker 2: the president and when because used to fall in the
- 0:27Speaker 2: White House Correspondence Association, but the White House is taking
- 0:31Speaker 2: it over. This following a few weeks of litigation in
- 0:35Speaker 2: battle with AP whether they should be even allowed to
- 0:38Speaker 2: cover the present. This does not feel like freedom of
- 0:42Speaker 2: speech if the White House is dictating, Yes, I use
- 0:46Speaker 2: the word dictating, mark it down February twenty six, twenty
- 0:50Speaker 2: twenty five, who and what can cover the President of
- 0:55Speaker 2: the United States?
- 0:56Speaker 1: I get it.
- 0:57Speaker 2: We all want fair reporting, but that should be up
- 1:02Speaker 2: to the reader, not the White House itself, to tell us, Hey,
- 1:06Speaker 2: we think this outlet's fair, we think this outlet's fair.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Let every outlet report.
- 1:10Speaker 2: The way they're going to fake or not, slant it
- 1:13Speaker 2: or not, and let the reader come.
- 1:15Speaker 1: To their own conclusion.
- 1:17Speaker 2: But I want to go into this one because Jake Tapper,
- 1:21Speaker 2: it has announced this week is going to be coming
- 1:24Speaker 2: up with a book coming out with a book called
- 1:27Speaker 2: The Original Sin. President Biden's Decline, its cover up, and
- 1:32Speaker 2: his disastrous choice to run again. Where was Jake Tapper?
- 1:37Speaker 2: Where was the media when we saw it in front
- 1:41Speaker 2: of our faces, even before Biden chose to run again.
- 1:48Speaker 2: It's so funny that he's talking about a cover up
- 1:52Speaker 2: because the Watergate era, they short sniffed out the cover
- 1:57Speaker 2: up in the White House with Nixon, but they didn't
- 2:01Speaker 2: do anything to sniff out the cover up of the
- 2:04Speaker 2: Biden administration of his cognitive abilities while he was.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Still in office. And I think the funny thing is
- 2:11Speaker 1: CNN has Carl Burnstein a lot, and of course he
- 2:17Speaker 1: was part of.
- 2:19Speaker 2: The Watergate coverage and now he's reporting on all the
- 2:25Speaker 2: misdeeds of this administration. But he sniffed out cover ups
- 2:29Speaker 2: in the Watergate era, and yet CNN chose to completely
- 2:35Speaker 2: completely ignore this until now.
- 2:40Speaker 1: And they're gonna make millions on a book when they
- 2:43Speaker 1: could have just reported the people.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Hey, here's what we found out while he was in office,
- 2:50Speaker 2: and found out every day. Why did take The New
- 2:53Speaker 2: York Times months later to tell us, oh, by the way,
- 2:57Speaker 2: President Biden needed teleprompters this at home fundraising parties, at
- 3:04Speaker 2: different homes, in these little gatherings, and you know, a
- 3:08Speaker 2: dollar prompter for that. Why is that coming out now?
- 3:13Speaker 1: And why are the.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Reports of all this kind of decline and cover ups
- 3:17Speaker 2: coming out now when the media should have done a
- 3:21Speaker 2: damn good job to tell us as it was happening.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Not that it would have mattered, because I think Trump
- 3:28Speaker 2: would have won anyway, but at least the media, which
- 3:30Speaker 2: Jos had, had some honesty to it and was going
- 3:34Speaker 2: for the journalism, not the bias. That was well, I'll
- 3:39Speaker 2: play you what this interaction was between Jake Tapper and
- 3:44Speaker 2: Laura Trump.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Last year.
- 3:47Speaker 3: I had no idea that Joe Biden ever suffered from
- 3:50Speaker 3: a stutter. I think what we see on stage with
- 3:53Speaker 3: Joe Biden Jake is very clearly a cognitive decline.
- 3:56Speaker 2: And that's what I'm referring to.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Tell me that what I was suggesting was.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Mocking his stutter out there, mocking Joe Biden's stutter. President
- 4:06Speaker 3: Biden obviously suffers from his stutter. It seems to be
- 4:09Speaker 3: from him and his campaign something along the lines of
- 4:12Speaker 3: we should make fun of people who have stutters. We
- 4:15Speaker 3: should slime democrats with unfounded allegations. Biden was pretty gaff
- 4:20Speaker 3: Chrone before.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly, I think you have absolutely.
- 4:23Speaker 3: Just standing to diagnose somebody's cognitive decline. President Biden embraces
- 4:27Speaker 3: his stutter talking about it. Well, Trump mocks it, exaggerates it,
- 4:31Speaker 3: belittles it, you know, considering his speaking talents and challenges.
- 4:38Speaker 1: It was a fairly solid perform.
- 4:40Speaker 3: Fly chastised Laura Trump two Sundays ago for diagnosing Joe
- 4:45Speaker 3: Biden's cognitive skills. Obviously she has no training to do so.
- 4:48Speaker 3: Shei's not a psychiatrist or a psychologist or a medical
- 4:50Speaker 3: professional at all.
- 4:52Speaker 2: Thanks to Washing pre Beacon for that entire compilation, I
- 4:55Speaker 2: was looking for something like that. Of all the times
- 4:58Speaker 2: Jake Tapper simply brushed as a stutter, So it's pretty
- 5:03Speaker 2: rich that he's about.
- 5:04Speaker 1: To get rich. Error for telling us, hey, there was
- 5:09Speaker 1: a cover up here.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Well, we knew that you were not honest enough to
- 5:14Speaker 2: tell us that.
- 5:16Speaker 1: There was a cognitive decline. And what I'd like to
- 5:21Speaker 1: know is how Kamala Harris.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Jill Bide Yes, doctor Jill Biden, and I would argue
- 5:32Speaker 2: this if anybody was covering up.
- 5:34Speaker 1: On the other.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Side, Hell, I just called out this White House for
- 5:38Speaker 2: suppressing freedom of speech in some form or another by saying, hey, press, uh,
- 5:43Speaker 2: we're going to control the cover.
- 5:44Speaker 1: As the president. That's not how America works. But this
- 5:48Speaker 1: one's concerning because we had so many people come up.
- 5:50Speaker 2: To us in the uh Biden administration saying, well, he's great,
- 5:56Speaker 2: nothing's wrong, he's cognitively there, only to find out, Well,
- 6:01Speaker 2: they were all lying to us. But they shouldn't get
- 6:04Speaker 2: off scott free for lying to the American people like this.
- 6:08Speaker 2: They shouldn't been making millions if they're a journalists now
- 6:12Speaker 2: telling us there was a cover up. So email me
- 6:16Speaker 2: Alex and ALEXIYC dot com. What do you think the
- 6:21Speaker 2: difference is between the Watergate era where they sniffed out
- 6:25Speaker 2: a cover up and the Nixon you know tapes and all.
- 6:29Speaker 1: That versus this. How did the Democrats and the media
- 6:37Speaker 1: team up? Why? How did that happen? It shouldn't have happened.
- 6:43Speaker 2: The media should be totally separate, especially on a twenty
- 6:48Speaker 2: four to seven news cable station like cn IT. So
- 6:54Speaker 2: thanks to Washington Free Beakend for that compilation of all
- 6:57Speaker 2: the times Jake Tepper pretty much brushed off any sign
- 7:03Speaker 2: of cognitive issue with Biden. And it would have helped
- 7:12Speaker 2: if you told us while it was happening that the
- 7:15Speaker 2: White House was covering up. That's holding a White House accountable.
- 7:20Speaker 2: So many are on Caroline Levitt and the Trump White
- 7:24Speaker 2: House Press Corps for this decision. Yet no one was
- 7:29Speaker 2: on the Biden visation until he dropped out, till kame
- 7:33Speaker 2: aat lost that there were all these.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Real issues going on, no one talked about. No one
- 7:39Speaker 1: wanted to say a word of.
- 7:43Speaker 2: We need even handed press. Do we not to function
- 7:48Speaker 2: as a country as a republic? You know, Ben Brgler says,
- 7:54Speaker 2: it's a republic if you can keep it the way
- 7:56Speaker 2: we keep it, and then we have one leg up
- 7:59Speaker 2: in this country. Free is if we have media outlets
- 8:03Speaker 2: that don't make money on reporting a cover up after
- 8:07Speaker 2: the fact, but make their money reporting on a cover
- 8:10Speaker 2: up as it's happening.
- 8:11Speaker 1: That's journalism, that's news. That's the way to have one
- 8:15Speaker 1: leg up on news. On February twenty sixth, twenty twenty five,
