  He's

  we're

  going
• 2:00
  to
• 2:00
  talk
• 2:00
  about
• 2:01
  one
• 2:01
  of

  my

  favorite
• 2:02
  subjects,
• 2:03
  the

  art
• 2:03
  that
• 2:03
  no
• 2:04
  one
• 2:04
  sees
• 2:04
  when
• 2:05
  you
• 2:05
  do
• 2:05
  it

  correctly.
• 2:06
  It's
• 2:06
  called
• 2:06
  lighting.
• 2:07
  Welcome
• 2:08
  back,
• 2:08
  Wendy.
• 2:08
  Thank
• 2:09
  you
• 2:09
  so
• 2:09
  much
• 2:09
  for
• 2:09
  having
• 2:10
  me.
• 2:10
  Yes,
• 2:11
  lighting
• 2:11
  is
• 2:12
  my
• 2:12
  favorite
• 2:12
  too
• 2:12
  and
• 2:12
  I'm
• 2:13
  so
• 2:13
  excited
• 2:13
  to
• 2:13
  hear
• 2:14
  all
• 2:14
  of
• 2:14
  your
• 2:14
  perspectives
• 2:15
  on
• 2:15
  it.
• 2:15
  And
• 2:16
  it's
• 2:16
  just,
• 2:16
  it's
• 2:17
  so
• 2:17
  different,
• 2:18
  don't
• 2:18
  you
• 2:18
  think,
• 2:18
  than
• 2:19
  it
• 2:19
  was
• 2:19
  10
• 2:19
  years
• 2:19
  ago
• 2:20
  and
• 2:20
  in
• 2:20
  all
• 2:21
  the
• 2:21
  coolest
• 2:21
  ways
• 2:22
  that
• 2:22
  you
• 2:22
  could
• 2:22
  imagine.
• 2:23
  So
• 2:23
  this
• 2:23
  is
• 2:24
  so
• 2:24
  much
• 2:24
  fun.
• 2:24
  Thank
• 2:25
  you
• 2:25
  for
• 2:25
  inviting
• 2:25
  me
• 2:25
  for
• 2:26
  this
• 2:26
  topic.
• 2:26
  This
• 2:27
  is
• 2:27
  so
• 2:27
  much
• 2:27
  fun
• 2:28
  and
• 2:28
  you
• 2:29
  can
• 2:29
  have
• 2:29
  the
• 2:29
  most
• 2:30
  beautiful
• 2:31
  designed
• 2:31
  project
• 2:32
  and
• 2:32
  if
• 2:33
  you
• 2:33
  skipped
• 2:33
  lighting
• 2:34
  class,
• 2:34
  it
• 2:35
  doesn't
• 2:35
  look
• 2:35
  as
• 2:35
  great
• 2:36
  as
• 2:36
  what
• 2:36
  it
• 2:36
  could.
• 2:37
  And
• 2:37
  then
• 2:37
  somebody
• 2:38
  comes
• 2:38
  in
• 2:38
  there
• 2:38
  and
• 2:38
  does
• 2:38
  the
• 2:39
  lighting
• 2:39
  right.
• 2:39
  And
• 2:40
  it's
• 2:40
  like
• 2:40
  it
• 2:40
  amplifies
• 2:41
  at
• 2:41
  10x.
• 2:42
  Oh
• 2:42
  yeah.
• 2:43
  There
• 2:44
  is
• 2:44
  no
• 2:44
  replacement
• 2:45
  for
• 2:45
  a
• 2:45
  really
• 2:46
  outstanding
• 2:46
  lighting
• 2:47
  design.
• 2:48
  And
• 2:48
  I'm
• 2:49
  really
• 2:49
  fortunate
• 2:49
  here
• 2:50
  where
• 2:50
  I
• 2:50
  practice
• 2:51
  in
• 2:51
  Central
• 2:52
  Valley
• 2:52
  in
• 2:52
  California,
• 2:53
  we
• 2:53
  have
• 2:54
  a
• 2:54
  family
• 2:54
  owned
• 2:54
  third
• 2:55
  generation
• 2:56
  retail
• 2:56
  store
• 2:57
  called
• 2:57
  Philips
• 2:57
  Lighting
• 2:58
  Home.
• 2:58
  And
• 2:59
  my
• 2:59
  friend
• 2:59
  Carrie
• 2:59
  Arnold
• 3:00
  is
• 3:00
  a
• 3:00
  co
• 3:01
  owner
• 3:01
  with
• 3:01
  her
• 3:02
  mom
• 3:02
  and
• 3:02
  she's
• 3:03
  a
• 3:03
  lighting
• 3:03
  designer.
• 3:04
  And
• 3:05
  around
• 3:05
  Covid
• 3:05
  we
• 3:06
  started
• 3:06
  working
• 3:06
  together
• 3:07
  on
• 3:07
  projects
• 3:08
  and
• 3:08
  approaching
• 3:09
  lighting
• 3:09
  in
• 3:09
  a
• 3:09
  way
• 3:10
  that
• 3:10
  I'd
• 3:10
  never
• 3:10
  done
• 3:11
  before
• 3:11
  and
• 3:12
  she's
• 3:12
  taught
• 3:12
  me
• 3:12
  a
• 3:12
  lot.
• 3:13
  But
• 3:13
  I'm
• 3:13
  certainly
• 3:14
  no
• 3:14
  lighting
• 3:14
  designer,
• 3:15
  but
• 3:15
  the
• 3:15
  things
• 3:16
  that
• 3:16
  we've
• 3:16
  pulled
• 3:17
  off
• 3:17
  together
• 3:18
  because
• 3:18
  she's
• 3:19
  smart,
• 3:19
  but
• 3:20
  wow,
• 3:20
  these
• 3:20
  things
• 3:21
  are
• 3:21
  just
• 3:22
  incredible.
• 3:23
  And
• 3:23
  it's
• 3:24
  so
• 3:24
  much
• 3:24
  fun.
• 3:25
  And
• 3:25
  it's
• 3:25
  almost
• 3:26
  like
• 3:26
  clients
• 3:27
  see
• 3:28
  this
• 3:28
  beautiful
• 3:29
  thing
• 3:29
  that
• 3:29
  we
• 3:29
  put
• 3:29
  together
• 3:30
  for
• 3:30
  the
• 3:30
  first
• 3:31
  time.
• 3:31
  It's
• 3:31
  like
• 3:31
  they're
• 3:31
  watching
• 3:32
  fireworks.
• 3:32
  They
• 3:33
  get
• 3:33
  so
• 3:33
  excited
• 3:34
  and
• 3:34
  they're
• 3:34
  so
• 3:34
  happy
• 3:35
  and
• 3:35
  they
• 3:35
  can't
• 3:35
  believe
• 3:36
  how
• 3:36
  beautiful
• 3:37
  it
• 3:37
  is
• 3:38
  and
• 3:38
  all
• 3:38
  the
• 3:39
  little
• 3:39
  details,
• 3:39
  it's
• 3:40
  just.
• 3:40
  It's
• 3:40
  a
• 3:40
  thrilling
• 3:41
  thing.
• 3:41
  I
• 3:41
  think
• 3:42
  so.
• 3:42
  Absolutely.
• 3:43
  I
• 3:43
  had
• 3:44
  my
• 3:44
  sensei
• 3:45
  of
• 3:45
  lighting,
• 3:46
  Al
• 3:46
  Thomas.
• 3:47
  He
• 3:47
  worked
• 3:48
  for
• 3:48
  North
• 3:48
  Coast
• 3:49
  Lighting
• 3:49
  up
• 3:49
  here
• 3:49
  for
• 3:49
  years.
• 3:50
  And
• 3:50
  he
• 3:50
  was
• 3:51
  the
• 3:51
  guy
• 3:51
  that
• 3:52
  when
• 3:52
  he
• 3:52
  spoke,
• 3:52
  I
• 3:53
  shut
• 3:53
  up
• 3:53
  and
• 3:53
  just
• 3:53
  listened
• 3:54
  because
• 3:55
  I
• 3:55
  knew
• 3:56
  that
• 3:56
  he
• 3:56
  had
• 3:56
  forgotten
• 3:57
  more
• 3:58
  little
• 3:58
  details
• 3:59
  than
• 3:59
  I
• 3:59
  was
• 3:59
  ever
• 3:59
  going
• 4:00
  to
• 4:00
  learn
• 4:00
  from
• 4:01
  him
• 4:01
  because
• 4:01
  he
• 4:02
  was
• 4:02
  just
• 4:02
  that
• 4:02
  good
• 4:03
  and
• 4:03
  really
• 4:04
  opened
• 4:04
  up
• 4:04
  my
• 4:05
  eyes
• 4:05
  to
• 4:05
  what
• 4:05
  really
• 4:06
  good
• 4:06
  lighting
• 4:06
  design
• 4:07
  was.
• 4:07
  And
• 4:07
  going
• 4:08
  into
• 4:08
  a
• 4:08
  retail
• 4:08
  location
• 4:09
  that's
• 4:09
  got
• 4:09
  that
• 4:09
  lighting
• 4:10
  lab
• 4:10
  feel
• 4:10
  to
• 4:11
  it,
• 4:11
  where
• 4:11
  you
• 4:11
  can
• 4:11
  go
• 4:11
  in
• 4:12
  and
• 4:12
  really
• 4:13
  see
• 4:13
  the
• 4:13
  difference
• 4:14
  between
• 4:14
  stuff
• 4:15
  in
• 4:15
  a
• 4:15
  practical
• 4:16
  application
• 4:17
  and
• 4:17
  from
• 4:17
  then
• 4:17
  on
• 4:17
  out,
• 4:18
  every
• 4:18
  time
• 4:18
  I
• 4:18
  walked
• 4:18
  into
• 4:19
  my
• 4:19
  house,
• 4:20
  someone
• 4:20
  else's
• 4:20
  house,
• 4:21
  and
• 4:21
  I
• 4:21
  saw
• 4:21
  the
• 4:22
  6
• 4:22
  inch
• 4:22
  cans,
• 4:23
  and
• 4:23
  I
• 4:23
  just
• 4:23
  wanted
• 4:23
  to
• 4:23
  tear
• 4:24
  them
• 4:24
  out
• 4:24
  of
• 4:24
  the
• 4:24
  ceiling
• 4:25
  and
• 4:26
  fix
• 4:26
  it
• 4:26
  for
• 4:26
  them.
• 4:27
  So
• 4:27
  I
• 4:27
  joke
• 4:27
  with
• 4:28
  Stephanie
• 4:28
  and
• 4:28
  Layla,
• 4:29
  the
• 4:29
  two
• 4:29
  designers
• 4:30
  that
• 4:30
  work
• 4:30
  with
• 4:30
  me
• 4:30
  all
• 4:31
  the
• 4:31
  time,
• 4:31
  that
• 4:31
  there's
• 4:32
  not
• 4:32
  enough
• 4:32
  Botox
• 4:33
  in
• 4:33
  the
• 4:33
  world
• 4:34
  to
• 4:34
  help
• 4:35
  disguise
• 4:36
  my
• 4:36
  face
• 4:37
  when
• 4:37
  I
• 4:37
  see
• 4:38
  a
• 4:38
  bad
• 4:39
  lighting
• 4:39
  plan.
• 4:40
  Eric,
• 4:40
  I'm
• 4:41
  working
• 4:41
  on
• 4:41
  this
• 4:41
  remodel
• 4:42
  with
• 4:42
  this
• 4:43
  client,
• 4:43
  this
• 4:44
  couple,
• 4:44
  and
• 4:45
  they
• 4:45
  want
• 4:45
  to
• 4:45
  do
• 4:45
  it
• 4:45
  themselves.
• 4:46
  Oh,
• 4:47
  no.
• 4:47
  I'm
• 4:47
  just
• 4:47
  like
• 4:47
  a
• 4:48
  advisor.
• 4:49
  When
• 4:49
  they
• 4:49
  get
• 4:49
  stuck
• 4:50
  or
• 4:50
  upset,
• 4:51
  they
• 4:51
  call
• 4:51
  me
• 4:52
  after
• 4:52
  they
• 4:52
  made
• 4:52
  the
• 4:52
  mistake.
• 4:52
  I've
• 4:53
  never
• 4:53
  really
• 4:53
  done
• 4:53
  anything
• 4:54
  like
• 4:54
  this
• 4:54
  before.
• 4:55
  I'm
• 4:55
  sure
• 4:55
  you've
• 4:55
  never
• 4:55
  experienced
• 4:56
  this.
• 4:56
  And
• 4:57
  Stephanie
• 4:57
  and
• 4:57
  I
• 4:58
  walked
• 4:58
  in
• 4:58
  one
• 4:58
  day
• 4:59
  and
• 4:59
  I
• 5:00
  looked
• 5:00
  up
• 5:00
  and
• 5:01
  the
• 5:01
  guy
• 5:01
  proudly
• 5:02
  says
• 5:02
  to
• 5:02
  me,
• 5:03
  so
• 5:03
  what
• 5:03
  do
• 5:03
  you
• 5:03
  think
• 5:03
  of
• 5:03
  my
• 5:04
  lighting
• 5:04
  plan?
• 5:05
  Oh,
• 5:06
  no.
• 5:06
  It
• 5:06
  was
• 5:07
  28
• 5:09
  cans
• 5:10
  in
• 5:10
  a
• 5:10
  family
• 5:11
  room.
• 5:12
  And
• 5:12
  I
• 5:13
  that's
• 5:14
  ugly.
• 5:14
  It's
• 5:15
  so
• 5:15
  hard
• 5:16
  because
• 5:16
  I
• 5:16
  know
• 5:16
  people
• 5:17
  ask
• 5:17
  you
• 5:17
  questions
• 5:18
  and
• 5:18
  people
• 5:18
  are
• 5:18
  excited
• 5:18
  about
• 5:19
  their
• 5:19
  home
• 5:19
  and
• 5:19
  all
• 5:20
  these
• 5:20
  things,
• 5:20
  and
• 5:20
  you
• 5:20
  don't
• 5:21
  want
• 5:21
  to
• 5:21
  be
• 5:21
  a
• 5:21
  stinker
• 5:22
  or
• 5:22
  disrespectful.
• 5:23
  So
• 5:23
  I
• 5:23
  try
• 5:24
  very
• 5:24
  hard
• 5:24
  to
• 5:24
  be
• 5:25
  diplomatic.
• 5:25
  I.
• 5:26
  Yeah,
• 5:27
  I
• 5:27
  had
• 5:27
  nothing
• 5:27
  I
• 5:28
  could
• 5:28
  say.
• 5:29
  All
• 5:29
  you
• 5:29
  could
• 5:29
  say
• 5:30
  was,
• 5:30
  I
• 5:30
  guess
• 5:30
  if
• 5:30
  that's
• 5:31
  your
• 5:31
  first
• 5:31
  time,
• 5:31
  that's
• 5:32
  not
• 5:32
  so
• 5:32
  bad.
• 5:33
  But
• 5:33
  really,
• 5:33
  you're
• 5:33
  stuck.
• 5:34
  And
• 5:34
  I
• 5:34
  just
• 5:34
  said,
• 5:35
  this
• 5:35
  is
• 5:35
  definitely
• 5:36
  a
• 5:36
  lighting
• 5:37
  plan.
• 5:38
  Yeah.
• 5:38
  And
• 5:39
  may
• 5:39
  I
• 5:39
  ask
• 5:40
  how
• 5:40
  you
• 5:40
  came
• 5:40
  about
• 5:41
  this
• 5:41
  plan?
• 5:42
  I
• 5:42
  did
• 5:43
  it
• 5:43
  with
• 5:43
  a
• 5:43
  professional
• 5:44
  electrician.
• 5:45
  He's
• 5:45
  Very
• 5:46
  seasoned.
• 5:46
  Okay,
• 5:48
  nice.
• 5:49
  Does
• 5:49
  he
• 5:49
  work
• 5:49
  with
• 5:50
  you
• 5:50
  in
• 5:50
  the
• 5:50
  food
• 5:51
  service
• 5:51
  and
• 5:51
  prep
• 5:52
  industry?
• 5:52
  Oh,
• 5:53
  no.
• 5:53
  Yes,
• 5:53
  he
• 5:54
  does.
• 5:54
  Okay.
• 5:55
  I
• 5:55
  said
• 5:55
  okay.
• 5:56
  I
• 5:57
  get
• 5:57
  it.
• 5:57
  Yes.
• 5:58
  For
• 5:58
  that
• 5:59
  application.
• 6:00
  He
• 6:00
  did
• 6:00
  super.
• 6:01
  Awesome.
• 6:01
  This
• 6:02
  would
• 6:02
  be
• 6:02
  great.
• 6:03
  You're
• 6:03
  gonna
• 6:04
  get
• 6:04
  so
• 6:05
  anxious
• 6:05
  sitting
• 6:06
  under
• 6:06
  that.
• 6:07
  It
• 6:08
  was
• 6:08
  so
• 6:08
  hard.
• 6:08
  It
• 6:09
  was
• 6:09
  lit
• 6:09
  like
• 6:09
  a
• 6:09
  tanning
• 6:10
  bed.
• 6:10
  So
• 6:10
  we
• 6:10
  took
• 6:11
  them
• 6:11
  all
• 6:11
  out,
• 6:11
  and
• 6:11
  I
• 6:12
  just
• 6:12
  thought,
• 6:12
  that's
• 6:12
  a
• 6:13
  bad
• 6:13
  actor,
• 6:13
  because
• 6:14
  that
• 6:14
  electrician
• 6:15
  knew
• 6:16
  better
• 6:16
  than
• 6:16
  that.
• 6:16
  And
• 6:17
  he
• 6:17
  was
• 6:17
  just
• 6:17
  taking
• 6:17
  advantage
• 6:18
  of
• 6:18
  a
• 6:18
  homeowner
• 6:19
  who
• 6:19
  didn't
• 6:19
  know.
• 6:20
  And,
• 6:20
  oh,
• 6:20
  these
• 6:20
  are
• 6:21
  Halo
• 6:21
  cans.
• 6:21
  And
• 6:22
  they're
• 6:22
  so
• 6:22
  great.
• 6:22
  And
• 6:22
  they
• 6:23
  are.
• 6:23
  They
• 6:23
  are.
• 6:24
  But
• 6:24
  they're
• 6:24
  also
• 6:25
  40
• 6:25
  to
• 6:26
  $80
• 6:26
  a
• 6:26
  whack.
• 6:27
  Yeah.
• 6:28
  So
• 6:28
  all
• 6:28
  that
• 6:29
  labor
• 6:29
  and
• 6:29
  all
• 6:29
  that
• 6:30
  material.
• 6:30
  That's
• 6:31
  mean.
• 6:32
  Yeah.
• 6:32
  So
• 6:32
  I
• 6:33
  was
• 6:33
  taking
• 6:33
  those
• 6:33
  cans
• 6:34
  back.
• 6:34
  Those
• 6:34
  are
• 6:34
  going
• 6:34
  out
• 6:34
  in
• 6:35
  the
• 6:35
  garage
• 6:35
  on
• 6:35
  the
• 6:35
  shelf
• 6:36
  someplace.
• 6:36
  I
• 6:36
  couldn't
• 6:37
  look
• 6:37
  at
• 6:37
  Stephanie.
• 6:38
  I
• 6:38
  was
• 6:38
  just
• 6:38
  like,
• 6:38
  I
• 6:39
  know
• 6:39
  better.
• 6:40
  I
• 6:40
  know
• 6:41
  better.
• 6:41
  Yeah.
• 6:41
  And
• 6:42
  I
• 6:42
  don't
• 6:42
  know.
• 6:42
  I've
• 6:43
  got.
• 6:43
  I'm
• 6:43
  going
• 6:43
  to
• 6:43
  turn
• 6:43
  into
• 6:44
  a
• 6:44
  lighting
• 6:44
  snob
• 6:44
  here.
• 6:45
  But
• 6:45
  every
• 6:45
  design
• 6:46
  client
• 6:46
  I've
• 6:47
  ever
• 6:47
  worked
• 6:47
  with
• 6:47
  have.
• 6:47
  I
• 6:48
  walk
• 6:48
  into
• 6:48
  that
• 6:48
  kitchen
• 6:49
  before
• 6:49
  the
• 6:49
  kitchen
• 6:49
  remodel,
• 6:49
  and
• 6:49
  they're
• 6:50
  like,
• 6:50
  we
• 6:50
  want
• 6:51
  to
• 6:51
  do
• 6:51
  something
• 6:51
  right
• 6:51
  away
• 6:52
  first
• 6:52
  to
• 6:53
  get
• 6:53
  this
• 6:53
  better.
• 6:54
  And
• 6:54
  then
• 6:54
  in
• 6:54
  two
• 6:55
  years
• 6:55
  we're
• 6:55
  going
• 6:55
  to
• 6:55
  do
• 6:55
  that.
• 6:55
  But
• 6:56
  you're
• 6:56
  here
• 6:56
  for
• 6:56
  the
• 6:56
  bathroom.
• 6:57
  And
• 6:57
  the
• 6:57
  first
• 6:57
  thing
• 6:57
  I
• 6:57
  go
• 6:57
  is,
• 6:58
  we're
• 6:58
  not
• 6:58
  going
• 6:58
  to
• 6:58
  have
• 6:58
  to
• 6:58
  tear
• 6:59
  the
• 6:59
  ceiling
• 6:59
  up
• 6:59
  in
• 6:59
  here.
• 6:59
  Why
• 6:59
  don't
• 7:00
  you?
• 7:00
  The
• 7:00
  drywall
• 7:00
  is
• 7:01
  upstairs
• 7:01
  doing
• 7:01
  the
• 7:01
  bathroom.
• 7:02
  Let's
• 7:02
  do
• 7:02
  the
• 7:02
  lighting
• 7:03
  down
• 7:03
  here.
• 7:03
  Yep.
• 7:04
  Let's
• 7:04
  design
• 7:04
  the
• 7:04
  kitchen
• 7:05
  out
• 7:05
  how
• 7:05
  you're
• 7:06
  going
• 7:06
  to
• 7:06
  do
• 7:06
  it.
• 7:06
  Let's
• 7:06
  do
• 7:06
  the
• 7:07
  lighting
• 7:07
  plan
• 7:07
  down
• 7:07
  here.
• 7:08
  Just
• 7:08
  make
• 7:08
  this
• 7:08
  so
• 7:08
  it
• 7:08
  looks
• 7:08
  better.
• 7:09
  Exactly.
• 7:10
  Tear
• 7:10
  out
• 7:10
  all
• 7:10
  those
• 7:11
  6
• 7:11
  inch
• 7:11
  cans.
• 7:11
  I
• 7:12
  would.
• 7:12
  I'd
• 7:12
  usually
• 7:12
  put
• 7:13
  2
• 7:13
  inch,
• 7:13
  3
• 7:14
  inch
• 7:14
  even
• 7:14
  ones
• 7:15
  at
• 7:15
  times
• 7:15
  because
• 7:16
  those
• 7:16
  can
• 7:16
  be
• 7:16
  really
• 7:16
  sexy
• 7:17
  if
• 7:17
  you've
• 7:17
  got
• 7:17
  a
• 7:17
  low
• 7:17
  ceiling.
• 7:18
  Yeah.
• 7:18
  And
• 7:18
  go
• 7:19
  small.
• 7:19
  My
• 7:20
  garage,
• 7:20
  I
• 7:20
  got
• 7:20
  3
• 7:20
  inch
• 7:21
  cans
• 7:21
  in
• 7:21
  it
• 7:21
  because
• 7:22
  I
• 7:22
  wanted
• 7:22
  to
• 7:23
  give
• 7:23
  me
• 7:23
  the
• 7:23
  right
• 7:23
  light
• 7:24
  in
• 7:24
  there.
• 7:24
  It's
• 7:25
  fun.
• 7:25
  I
• 7:25
  just.
• 7:26
  And
• 7:26
  I
• 7:26
  think
• 7:27
  people
• 7:27
  think
• 7:27
  lighting
• 7:28
  is
• 7:28
  just
• 7:28
  turn
• 7:29
  on
• 7:29
  a
• 7:29
  switch
• 7:29
  and
• 7:29
  the
• 7:30
  room
• 7:30
  is
• 7:30
  lit.
• 7:31
  That
• 7:31
  isn't
• 7:32
  really
• 7:32
  true
• 7:33
  because
• 7:34
  for
• 7:34
  whatever
• 7:34
  room
• 7:34
  you're
• 7:35
  in,
• 7:35
  there
• 7:35
  are
• 7:35
  certain
• 7:36
  purposes
• 7:36
  and
• 7:37
  ways
• 7:37
  you
• 7:37
  will
• 7:38
  use
• 7:38
  that
• 7:38
  room.
• 7:39
  And
• 7:39
  you
• 7:39
  want
• 7:39
  to
• 7:39
  be
• 7:39
  sure
• 7:40
  that
• 7:40
  the
• 7:41
  lighting
• 7:41
  that
• 7:41
  you
• 7:41
  have
• 7:42
  available
• 7:42
  to
• 7:43
  you
• 7:43
  in
• 7:43
  that
• 7:43
  room
• 7:44
  will
• 7:44
  serve
• 7:44
  the
• 7:44
  purposes
• 7:45
  of.
• 7:45
  Of
• 7:45
  the
• 7:45
  room
• 7:46
  and
• 7:46
  what
• 7:46
  you'll
• 7:46
  be
• 7:47
  doing
• 7:47
  there.
• 7:47
  And
• 7:48
  so
• 7:48
  many
• 7:48
  times.
• 7:49
  So
• 7:49
  cute.
• 7:49
  Carrie
• 7:50
  did
• 7:50
  tell
• 7:50
  me
• 7:50
  she's.
• 7:50
  And
• 7:51
  this
• 7:51
  is
• 7:51
  nothing
• 7:51
  against
• 7:52
  architects
• 7:52
  because
• 7:53
  they
• 7:53
  have
• 7:53
  to
• 7:53
  know
• 7:53
  so
• 7:53
  many
• 7:54
  things
• 7:54
  about
• 7:54
  so
• 7:55
  many
• 7:55
  Things.
• 7:55
  Yep.
• 7:56
  There's
• 7:56
  like
• 7:56
  a
• 7:56
  little
• 7:56
  standard,
• 7:57
  little
• 7:57
  lighting
• 7:57
  sheet
• 7:58
  that
• 7:58
  goes
• 7:58
  through
• 7:58
  whatever
• 7:59
  it
• 7:59
  is
• 7:59
  that
• 7:59
  you're
• 7:59
  doing.
• 8:00
  There's.
• 8:00
  In
• 8:00
  every
• 8:01
  bedroom,
• 8:01
  there's
• 8:01
  a
• 8:01
  can,
• 8:02
  there's
• 8:02
  a
• 8:02
  fan
• 8:03
  and
• 8:03
  four
• 8:03
  little
• 8:04
  hands.
• 8:04
  Yep.
• 8:05
  Builder's
• 8:05
  best.
• 8:06
  Yep,
• 8:06
  Exactly.
• 8:07
  Carrie,
• 8:08
  that
• 8:08
  kid's
• 8:08
  going
• 8:08
  to
• 8:09
  get
• 8:09
  migraines
• 8:09
  every
• 8:09
  day
• 8:09
  of
• 8:10
  their
• 8:10
  life
• 8:10
  because
• 8:10
  they're
• 8:10
  going
• 8:11
  to
• 8:11
  have
• 8:11
  this
• 8:11
  strobe
• 8:11
  effect
• 8:12
  with
• 8:12
  the
• 8:12
  fan
• 8:12
  and
• 8:12
  the
• 8:13
  cans
• 8:13
  and
• 8:14
  the.
• 8:14
  Yeah.
• 8:15
  But
• 8:15
  if
• 8:15
  you.
• 8:16
  Instead
• 8:16
  she
• 8:17
  taught
• 8:17
  me.
• 8:17
  And
• 8:17
  I'm
• 8:17
  so
• 8:18
  grateful
• 8:18
  for
• 8:18
  her
• 8:19
  just
• 8:19
  to
• 8:19
  take
• 8:20
  the
• 8:20
  time
• 8:20
  to
• 8:20
  explain
• 8:21
  because
• 8:21
  I
• 8:21
  know
• 8:21
  when
• 8:21
  you're
• 8:21
  really
• 8:22
  great
• 8:22
  at
• 8:22
  what
• 8:22
  you
• 8:22
  do,
• 8:23
  it
• 8:23
  is
• 8:24
  hard
• 8:24
  to
• 8:25
  always
• 8:26
  be
• 8:26
  mindful
• 8:26
  that
• 8:27
  whomever
• 8:27
  you're
• 8:28
  speaking
• 8:28
  to
• 8:28
  does
• 8:29
  not
• 8:29
  know
• 8:29
  and
• 8:30
  that
• 8:30
  they
• 8:30
  need
• 8:31
  clear
• 8:32
  education.
• 8:33
  It's
• 8:33
  like
• 8:33
  talking
• 8:33
  to
• 8:33
  a
• 8:34
  brain
• 8:34
  surgeon.
• 8:34
  It's
• 8:34
  like,
• 8:35
  dump
• 8:35
  it
• 8:35
  down
• 8:35
  for
• 8:35
  me.
• 8:36
  What
• 8:36
  do
• 8:36
  you
• 8:36
  got?
• 8:36
  Yeah.
• 8:37
  And
• 8:37
  she's
• 8:37
  Wendy.
• 8:37
  If
• 8:38
  we
• 8:38
  could
• 8:38
  light.
• 8:38
  If
• 8:39
  we
• 8:39
  could
• 8:39
  use
• 8:39
  directional
• 8:40
  lighting.
• 8:40
  You
• 8:41
  light
• 8:41
  the
• 8:41
  wall
• 8:42
  and
• 8:42
  it's
• 8:42
  reflected
• 8:42
  back
• 8:43
  into
• 8:43
  the
• 8:43
  room
• 8:44
  so
• 8:44
  it's
• 8:44
  easier
• 8:44
  for
• 8:44
  you
• 8:45
  to
• 8:45
  receive.
• 8:45
  It's
• 8:46
  not
• 8:46
  this
• 8:46
  harsh,
• 8:47
  oppressive
• 8:47
  light
• 8:48
  you
• 8:48
  get
• 8:48
  when
• 8:48
  it's
• 8:49
  straight
• 8:49
  down.
• 8:49
  It's
• 8:49
  not.
• 8:50
  You're
• 8:50
  not
• 8:50
  lighting
• 8:51
  particulates
• 8:52
  of
• 8:52
  a
• 8:52
  room
• 8:52
  in
• 8:53
  the
• 8:53
  air
• 8:53
  anymore.
• 8:54
  You're
• 8:54
  lighting
• 8:54
  a
• 8:55
  surface.
• 8:55
  It
• 8:55
  gives
• 8:56
  you
• 8:56
  a
• 8:56
  nice
• 8:56
  soft
• 8:57
  effect
• 8:57
  as
• 8:57
  it
• 8:58
  comes
• 8:58
  across
• 8:58
  your
• 8:59
  eyes.
• 8:59
  It
• 8:59
  glows.
• 9:00
  Yeah.
• 9:01
  And
• 9:01
  then
• 9:01
  you
• 9:01
  don't
• 9:02
  get
• 9:02
  that
• 9:02
  strobe.
• 9:03
  Oh,
• 9:04
  my
• 9:04
  gosh.
• 9:05
  And
• 9:05
  it's
• 9:05
  so
• 9:06
  simple,
• 9:06
  but
• 9:07
  people
• 9:07
  don't
• 9:07
  think
• 9:07
  about
• 9:08
  it.
• 9:08
  And
• 9:09
  I'm
• 9:09
  just.
• 9:09
  I
• 9:09
  always
• 9:10
  have
• 9:10
  fun.
• 9:10
  That's
• 9:10
  the
• 9:11
  first
• 9:11
  thing
• 9:11
  I
• 9:11
  do,
• 9:11
  is
• 9:12
  I
• 9:12
  change
• 9:12
  all
• 9:12
  those
• 9:12
  little
• 9:13
  things
• 9:13
  in
• 9:13
  those
• 9:13
  rooms
• 9:14
  to
• 9:14
  try
• 9:14
  to
• 9:14
  help
• 9:14
  out.
• 9:15
  We've
• 9:15
  been
• 9:15
  doing
• 9:15
  some
• 9:16
  cool
• 9:16
  things
• 9:17
  lately
• 9:17
  and
• 9:17
  maybe,
• 9:18
  I
• 9:18
  don't
• 9:18
  know,
• 9:18
  maybe
• 9:18
  you
• 9:19
  would
• 9:19
  want
• 9:19
  to
• 9:19
  do
• 9:19
  this
• 9:19
  on
• 9:19
  some
• 9:20
  of
• 9:20
  your
• 9:20
  new
• 9:20
  builds.
• 9:21
  There's
• 9:21
  a
• 9:21
  designer
• 9:22
  who
• 9:22
  works
• 9:22
  with
• 9:22
  this
• 9:22
  incredible
• 9:23
  lighting
• 9:24
  designer.
• 9:24
  She's
• 9:25
  in
• 9:25
  the
• 9:25
  uk
• 9:25
  and
• 9:25
  I
• 9:25
  can't
• 9:26
  remember
• 9:26
  his
• 9:26
  name,
• 9:27
  the
• 9:27
  lighting
• 9:27
  designer,
• 9:28
  but
• 9:28
  she's
• 9:29
  Sophie
• 9:29
  Patterson
• 9:30
  and
• 9:30
  she
• 9:30
  has
• 9:30
  beautiful
• 9:30
  work
• 9:31
  and
• 9:31
  she
• 9:31
  works
• 9:31
  all
• 9:31
  over
• 9:31
  the
• 9:32
  world,
• 9:32
  but
• 9:32
  she
• 9:32
  and
• 9:33
  her
• 9:33
  lighting
• 9:33
  designer
• 9:33
  work
• 9:34
  together
• 9:34
  constantly.
• 9:35
  Kind
• 9:35
  of
• 9:35
  like
• 9:36
  Carrie
• 9:36
  and
• 9:36
  I
• 9:36
  do.
• 9:36
  But
• 9:37
  we're
• 9:37
  in
• 9:37
  the
• 9:37
  Central
• 9:37
  Valley
• 9:38
  in
• 9:38
  California.
• 9:39
  Nice.
• 9:40
  We're
• 9:40
  not
• 9:40
  in
• 9:40
  Dubai
• 9:41
  yet.
• 9:42
  No.
• 9:42
  Yet.
• 9:43
  Yeah.
• 9:43
  But
• 9:44
  there
• 9:44
  are
• 9:44
  these
• 9:44
  gorgeous
• 9:45
  tiny
• 9:46
  1
• 9:46
  inch
• 9:47
  little
• 9:48
  recess
• 9:48
  cans,
• 9:48
  but
• 9:49
  it
• 9:49
  goes
• 9:49
  in
• 9:49
  the
• 9:50
  foundation.
• 9:50
  Nice.
• 9:51
  So
• 9:51
  it
• 9:51
  shines
• 9:52
  up
• 9:52
  out
• 9:53
  of
• 9:53
  the
• 9:53
  floor.
• 9:54
  So
• 9:54
  out
• 9:54
  of
• 9:54
  your
• 9:54
  incredible
• 9:55
  hardwood
• 9:55
  flooring
• 9:56
  or
• 9:56
  out
• 9:56
  of
• 9:56
  your
• 9:57
  concrete
• 9:57
  or
• 9:57
  whatever
• 9:58
  to
• 9:58
  highlight
• 9:59
  all
• 9:59
  those
• 9:59
  amazing
• 10:00
  architectural
• 10:01
  details.
• 10:02
  And
• 10:02
  you
• 10:02
  don't
• 10:02
  even
• 10:03
  really
• 10:03
  notice
• 10:04
  because
• 10:04
  it's
• 10:04
  so
• 10:05
  tiny.
• 10:05
  But
• 10:05
  we're
• 10:06
  going
• 10:06
  to
• 10:06
  do
• 10:06
  it
• 10:06
  at
• 10:06
  this
• 10:07

  that

  we

• 10:11
  And
• 10:11
  we're
• 10:11
  doing
• 10:11
  this
• 10:11
  wall
• 10:12

• 10:12

• 10:13
  these
• 10:13
  tiny
• 10:14

• 10:15

  it's
• 10:15
  poured
• 10:15
  into

  inside
• 12:42
  your
• 12:42

• 12:42
  and.
• 12:42
  You
• 12:42
  don't
• 12:43
  even
• 12:43
  really
• 12:43
  notice
• 12:44
  because
• 12:44
  it's
• 12:45
  so
• 12:45
  tiny.
• 12:45
  But
• 12:46
  we're
• 12:46
  going
• 12:46
  to
• 12:46
  do
• 12:46
  it
• 12:46
  at
• 12:47
  this
• 12:47
  new
• 12:47
  project
• 12:47
  that
• 12:47
  we
• 12:48
  have
• 12:48
  up
• 12:48
  in
• 12:48
  Groveland
• 12:49
  for

  this

• 12:49
  who's
• 12:50
  building
• 12:50
  a
• 12:50
  brand
• 12:50
  new
• 12:50
  build.
• 12:51
  And
• 12:51
  we're
• 12:51
  doing
• 12:51
  this
• 12:52
  wall
• 12:52
  washer
• 12:53
  with
• 12:53
  these
• 12:53
  tiny
• 12:54
  little
• 12:54
  guys.
• 12:55
  And
• 12:55
  it's
• 12:55
  poured
• 12:56
  into
• 12:56
  the
• 12:56
  foundation.
• 12:57
  And
• 12:57
  we're
• 12:58
  so
• 12:58
  excited
• 12:58
  because
• 12:58
  it's
• 12:59
  starting
• 12:59
  at
• 12:59
  the
• 12:59
  outside
• 13:00
  of
• 13:00
  the

• 13:00

• 13:00
  this

• 13:01
  And
• 13:01
  going
• 13:02
  into
• 13:02
  the
• 13:02
  house,
• 13:02
  we're
• 13:03
  bringing
• 13:03
  the
• 13:03

• 13:03
  all
• 13:04
  the

• 13:04

• 13:04
  So
• 13:05
  it's
• 13:05
  just
• 13:05
  going
• 13:05
  to
• 13:05
  be
• 13:05
  like.
• 13:06
  And
• 13:06
  it's
• 13:06
  up
• 13:06
  by
• 13:06
  this
• 13:06
  airplane
• 13:07
  hangar.
• 13:08
  So
• 13:08
  it
• 13:08
  has
• 13:08
  a
• 13:08
  little
• 13:08
  nod
• 13:09
  to
• 13:09
  that,
• 13:09
  too.
• 13:10
  Yeah.
• 13:10
  Yeah.
• 13:11
  A
• 13:11
  little
• 13:11
  Runway
• 13:12
  lighting.
• 13:12
  Cool.
• 13:13
  Yeah.
• 13:13
  Excited.
• 13:14
  Okay,
• 13:15
  that's
• 13:15
  next
• 13:15
  level.
• 13:16
  That
• 13:16
  is
• 13:16
  next
• 13:16
  level.
• 13:17
  That
• 13:17
  is
• 13:17
  cool.
• 13:18
  I'll
• 13:18
  get
• 13:18
  you
• 13:18
  some
• 13:18
  information
• 13:19
  on
• 13:19
  it
• 13:19
  because
• 13:19
  I
• 13:19
  think
• 13:19
  you
• 13:20
  would
• 13:20
  love
• 13:20
  it.
• 13:20
  Send
• 13:20
  it
• 13:20
  over.
• 13:21
  Yeah,
• 13:22
  send
• 13:22
  it
• 13:22
  over.
• 13:22
  That
• 13:23
  is
• 13:23
  solid
• 13:23
  right
• 13:23
  there.
• 13:24
  Yeah.
• 13:24
  And
• 13:24
  it's.
• 13:25
  Lighting's
• 13:25
  great.
• 13:26
  I
• 13:26
  really
• 13:26
  got
• 13:26
  into
• 13:27
  it
• 13:27
  probably
• 13:28
  20
• 13:28
  years
• 13:29
  ago
• 13:29
  when
• 13:29
  I
• 13:29
  was
• 13:29
  doing
• 13:30
  kitchen
• 13:30
  and
• 13:30
  bath
• 13:30
  design.
• 13:31
  Kitchens
• 13:31
  were
• 13:32
  big
• 13:32
  and.
• 13:32
  Oh
• 13:33
  yeah.
• 13:33
  Unfortunately,
• 13:34
  back
• 13:34
  then
• 13:34
  when
• 13:34
  I
• 13:34
  first
• 13:34
  started,
• 13:35
  it
• 13:35
  was
• 13:35
  the
• 13:35
  fluorescent
• 13:36
  tubes
• 13:36
  under
• 13:37
  the.
• 13:37
  Cabinets
• 13:37
  underneath
• 13:38
  with
• 13:38
  the
• 13:38
  little
• 13:39
  switch.
• 13:39
  Hated
• 13:40
  them.
• 13:40
  But
• 13:41
  then
• 13:41
  as
• 13:41
  soon
• 13:42
  as
• 13:42
  the
• 13:42
  halogens
• 13:43
  came
• 13:43
  out,
• 13:43
  I
• 13:43
  went
• 13:43
  into
• 13:44
  those.
• 13:44
  But
• 13:45
  those
• 13:45
  caused
• 13:45
  problems.
• 13:46
  I'd
• 13:46
  always
• 13:47
  have
• 13:47
  to.
• 13:48
  I'd
• 13:48
  always
• 13:48
  have
• 13:48
  to
• 13:49
  ask
• 13:49
  where
• 13:49
  they
• 13:49
  put
• 13:50
  their
• 13:50
  butter
• 13:50
  because
• 13:51
  that
• 13:51
  happened
• 13:51
  one
• 13:52
  time.
• 13:52
  They
• 13:53
  put
• 13:53
  their
• 13:53
  butter
• 13:53
  on
• 13:54
  the
• 13:54
  butter
• 13:54
  dish
• 13:54
  inside
• 13:55
  and
• 13:55
  she
• 13:55
  moved
• 13:56
  into
• 13:56
  her
• 13:56
  kitchen
• 13:56
  the
• 13:56
  next
• 13:57
  day.
• 13:57
  She's.
• 13:57
  I
• 13:57
  got
• 13:57
  a
• 13:58
  problem.
• 13:58
  What?
• 13:58
  I
• 13:59
  have
• 13:59
  a
• 13:59
  stick
• 13:59
  of
• 14:00
  butter
• 14:00
  on
• 14:00
  my
• 14:00
  countertop
• 14:01
  now.
• 14:01
  Cause
• 14:01
  it
• 14:02
  melted.
• 14:02
  The
• 14:02
  butter
• 14:02
  came
• 14:03
  out
• 14:03
  of
• 14:03
  the
• 14:03
  cabinets
• 14:04
  and
• 14:04
  went
• 14:04
  down
• 14:04
  because
• 14:05
  it
• 14:05
  was
• 14:05
  warm
• 14:05
  enough
• 14:05
  to
• 14:06
  turn
• 14:06
  that
• 14:06
  into
• 14:06
  liquid
• 14:07
  inside
• 14:07
  the
• 14:07
  cabinet.
• 14:08
  And
• 14:08
  it
• 14:08
  was
• 14:08
  like,
• 14:09
  all
• 14:09
  right,
• 14:09
  that's
• 14:09
  a
• 14:09
  problem.
• 14:10
  You
• 14:10
  have
• 14:10
  like
• 14:10
  a
• 14:10
  Messy
• 14:11
  person.
• 14:11
  And
• 14:11
  they
• 14:11
  stack
• 14:12
  a
• 14:12
  bunch
• 14:12
  of
• 14:12
  papers
• 14:13
  on
• 14:13
  their
• 14:13
  counter
• 14:13
  underneath
• 14:14
  the
• 14:14
  halogen
• 14:14
  light.
• 14:16
  Oh,
• 14:16
  it
• 14:16
  smells
• 14:17
  a
• 14:17
  little
• 14:17
  warm.
• 14:18
  Yeah.
• 14:19
  And
• 14:19
  I've
• 14:19
  had
• 14:20
  hoarders
• 14:20
  like
• 14:20
  that
• 14:20
  that
• 14:21
  I've
• 14:21
  done
• 14:21
  projects
• 14:21
  with
• 14:21
  that
• 14:22
  you
• 14:22
  had
• 14:22
  to
• 14:22
  take
• 14:22
  that
• 14:22
  into
• 14:23
  account.
• 14:23
  Yeah,
• 14:24
  I've
• 14:24
  had
• 14:24
  those
• 14:24
  where
• 14:25
  they
• 14:25
  come
• 14:25
  in
• 14:25
  and
• 14:26
  they
• 14:26
  want
• 14:26
  to
• 14:26
  do
• 14:26
  a
• 14:26
  new
• 14:26
  kitchen
• 14:27
  or
• 14:27
  a
• 14:27
  new
• 14:27
  bathroom.
• 14:27
  And
• 14:28
  I
• 14:28
  walk
• 14:28
  in,
• 14:29
  and
• 14:30
  it's.
• 14:30
  I'm
• 14:30
  6
• 14:31
  foot,
• 14:31
  so
• 14:31
  there's
• 14:32
  5
• 14:32
  foot,
• 14:32
  highest
• 14:33
  stuff
• 14:33
  stacked
• 14:33
  in
• 14:34
  the
• 14:34
  house.
• 14:34
  And
• 14:35
  there's
• 14:35
  a
• 14:35
  single
• 14:36
  track
• 14:36
  going
• 14:36
  through
• 14:37
  the
• 14:37
  house.
• 14:37
  And
• 14:38
  I
• 14:38
  had
• 14:38
  to
• 14:38
  have
• 14:38
  that
• 14:39
  hard
• 14:39
  conversation
• 14:40
  going.
• 14:40
  Yeah,
• 14:40
  we
• 14:40
  can
• 14:40
  do
• 14:41
  the
• 14:41
  bathrooms.
• 14:41
  And
• 14:41
  she
• 14:42
  just
• 14:42
  wanted
• 14:42
  countertops
• 14:43
  and
• 14:43
  vanities,
• 14:43
  something
• 14:43
  simple
• 14:43
  in
• 14:44
  there.
• 14:44
  But
• 14:44
  I'm
• 14:44
  like,
• 14:45
  you
• 14:45
  need
• 14:45
  to
• 14:45
  give
• 14:45
  me
• 14:45
  four
• 14:46
  feet
• 14:46
  right
• 14:46
  here.
• 14:47
  But
• 14:48
  she
• 14:48
  was
• 14:48
  also
• 14:48
  a
• 14:48
  unicorn
• 14:49
  because
• 14:49
  she
• 14:49
  invited
• 14:50
  me
• 14:50
  to
• 14:50
  come
• 14:50
  back
• 14:50
  and
• 14:50
  do
• 14:51
  the
• 14:51
  cabinets
• 14:51
  or
• 14:52
  countertops
• 14:52
  in
• 14:52
  her
• 14:53
  kitchen
• 14:53
  the
• 14:54
  next
• 14:54
  year.
• 14:54
  And
• 14:55
  when
• 14:55
  I
• 14:55
  was
• 14:55
  doing
• 14:55
  the
• 14:55
  first
• 14:56
  project,
• 14:56
  oh,
• 14:56
  yeah,
• 14:57
  I'm
• 14:57
  retiring
• 14:57
  here
• 14:57
  in
• 14:57
  two
• 14:58
  months,
• 14:58
  and
• 14:58
  I'm
• 14:58
  going
• 14:58
  to
• 14:58
  get
• 14:58
  this
• 14:58
  house
• 14:59
  in
• 14:59
  order.
• 14:59
  And
• 15:00
  in
• 15:00
  my
• 15:00
  head,
• 15:00
  I
• 15:00
  went,
• 15:01
  I've
• 15:01
  never
• 15:01
  seen
• 15:01
  that
• 15:01
  actually
• 15:02
  be
• 15:02
  successful
• 15:03
  without
• 15:03
  professional
• 15:03
  help.
• 15:04
  And
• 15:04
  I
• 15:05
  understand
• 15:05
  this.
• 15:05
  The
• 15:06
  disease.
• 15:06
  And
• 15:06
  I
• 15:06
  just
• 15:06
  went,
• 15:07
  oh,
• 15:07
  awesome.
• 15:07
  That'd
• 15:07
  be
• 15:08
  really
• 15:08
  cool.
• 15:08
  I'd
• 15:08
  be
• 15:09
  happy
• 15:09
  for
• 15:09
  you.
• 15:09
  And
• 15:09
  I
• 15:10
  came
• 15:10
  back,
• 15:10
  and
• 15:11
  it
• 15:11
  was
• 15:11
  down
• 15:11
  maybe.
• 15:12
  Maybe
• 15:12
  12
• 15:12
  inches
• 15:12
  high.
• 15:13
  And
• 15:13
  I
• 15:13
  could
• 15:14
  see
• 15:14
  around,
• 15:14
  and
• 15:14
  I'm
• 15:15
  like,
• 15:15
  you're
• 15:15
  70%
• 15:16
  there.
• 15:17
  Awesome.
• 15:18
  I
• 15:18
  felt
• 15:18
  good
• 15:19
  for
• 15:19
  her.
• 15:19
  I
• 15:19
  was
• 15:19
  like,
• 15:19
  oh,
• 15:20
  she's
• 15:20
  getting
• 15:20
  herself
• 15:21
  dialed
• 15:21
  in.
• 15:21
  That's
• 15:22
  awesome.
• 15:22
  It's
• 15:22
  so
• 15:22
  rare
• 15:23
  to
• 15:23
  see
• 15:23
  because
• 15:24
  I.
• 15:24
  The
• 15:24
  people.
• 15:25
  Everybody
• 15:25
  has
• 15:26
  dreams,
• 15:26
  but
• 15:27
  you
• 15:27
  come
• 15:27
  out
• 15:27
  into
• 15:27
  those.
• 15:27
  And
• 15:28
  I'm
• 15:28
  like,
• 15:28
  ooh,
• 15:29
  I
• 15:29
  don't
• 15:29
  know
• 15:29
  how
• 15:29
  we're
• 15:29
  gonna
• 15:29
  do
• 15:29
  this.
• 15:30
  And
• 15:30
  what's
• 15:30
  funny
• 15:31
  is
• 15:31
  the
• 15:31
  sense
• 15:32
  of
• 15:32
  unreality.
• 15:33
  They'd
• 15:34
  be
• 15:34
  like,
• 15:34
  yeah,
• 15:35
  I'm
• 15:35
  not
• 15:35
  into
• 15:35
  germs.
• 15:36
  Can
• 15:36
  I.
• 15:36
  Can
• 15:36
  you
• 15:36
  take
• 15:36
  your
• 15:37
  shoes
• 15:37
  off
• 15:37
  when
• 15:37
  you
• 15:37
  come
• 15:37
  in?
• 15:38
  And
• 15:38
  I'd
• 15:38
  go,
• 15:38
  joe
• 15:39
  won't
• 15:39
  let
• 15:39
  me
• 15:39
  do
• 15:39
  that.
• 15:39
  I've
• 15:40
  got
• 15:40
  to
• 15:40
  have
• 15:40
  protective
• 15:41
  footwear
• 15:41
  in
• 15:41
  here.
• 15:42
  Okay.
• 15:42
  Yeah,
• 15:43
  yeah.
• 15:44
  Those
• 15:45
  are
• 15:45
  sad.
• 15:45
  Yeah.
• 15:46
  You
• 15:46
  can't
• 15:46
  design
• 15:47
  someone
• 15:48
  well,
• 15:48
  healthy.
• 15:49
  And
• 15:50
  that
• 15:50
  took
• 15:50
  me
• 15:50
  a
• 15:51
  really
• 15:51
  long
• 15:51
  time
• 15:51
  to
• 15:51
  learn
• 15:52
  as
• 15:52
  a
• 15:52
  designer.
• 15:53
  And
• 15:53
  that's.
• 15:53
  It's
• 15:54
  tricky.
• 15:54
  That's
• 15:55
  a
• 15:55
  tricky
• 15:55
  thing.
• 15:56
  We
• 15:56
  can
• 15:56
  have
• 15:56
  a
• 15:56
  side
• 15:56
  mark
• 15:57
  for
• 15:57
  me.
• 15:57
  Yeah,
• 15:58
  Side
• 15:58
  mark
• 15:59
  for
• 15:59
  me.
• 15:59
  And
• 15:59
  we'll
• 15:59
  go
• 15:59
  back
• 15:59
  to
• 15:59
  lighting
• 16:00
  here
• 16:00
  in
• 16:00
  a
• 16:00
  second.
• 16:00
  But
• 16:00
  a
• 16:00
  little
• 16:01
  sidebar
• 16:01
  on
• 16:01
  that.
• 16:02
  I
• 16:02
  knew
• 16:02
  if
• 16:03
  I
• 16:03
  didn't
• 16:03
  say
• 16:03
  no
• 16:04
  to
• 16:04
  two
• 16:04
  or
• 16:04
  three
• 16:04
  clients
• 16:05
  a
• 16:05
  year,
• 16:05
  I
• 16:06
  wasn't
• 16:06
  being
• 16:06
  picky
• 16:07
  enough.
• 16:07
  And
• 16:07
  I
• 16:07
  wrote
• 16:07
  them
• 16:07
  down.
• 16:08
  I
• 16:08
  kept
• 16:08
  numbers
• 16:09
  on
• 16:09
  my
• 16:09
  whiteboard
• 16:09
  in
• 16:09
  my
• 16:10
  office
• 16:10
  for
• 16:10
  the
• 16:10
  year
• 16:11
  because
• 16:11
  usually
• 16:12
  that
• 16:12
  means
• 16:12
  I'm
• 16:13
  taking
• 16:13
  a
• 16:13
  project
• 16:14
  on.
• 16:14
  If
• 16:14
  I
• 16:15
  was
• 16:15
  into
• 16:15
  November
• 16:15
  and
• 16:16
  I
• 16:16
  only
• 16:16
  had
• 16:16
  one
• 16:16
  up
• 16:16
  there,
• 16:17
  I
• 16:17
  was
• 16:17
  rethinking
• 16:18
  things,
• 16:18
  going,
• 16:18
  that
• 16:19
  should
• 16:19
  have
• 16:19
  been
• 16:19
  number
• 16:19
  two.
• 16:20
  And
• 16:20
  it's
• 16:20
  maybe
• 16:20
  because
• 16:20
  here's
• 16:21
  the
• 16:21
  thing,
• 16:21
  we're
• 16:21
  all
• 16:21
  human
• 16:22
  personalities
• 16:22
  sometimes
• 16:23
  don't
• 16:23
  work.
• 16:23
  Correct.
• 16:24
  And
• 16:24
  I
• 16:25
  always
• 16:25
  took
• 16:25
  my
• 16:25
  job
• 16:26
  as
• 16:26
  a
• 16:26
  designer
• 16:27
  was
• 16:27
  to
• 16:27
  make
• 16:27
  sure
• 16:27
  that
• 16:28
  I
• 16:28
  found
• 16:28
  those
• 16:29
  times
• 16:29
  before
• 16:30
  that
• 16:30
  it
• 16:30
  wasn't
• 16:30
  going
• 16:31
  to
• 16:31
  work.
• 16:31
  And
• 16:31
  I've
• 16:32
  handed
• 16:32
  cabinet
• 16:33
  projects
• 16:33
  off
• 16:34
  to
• 16:34
  other
• 16:34
  companies
• 16:35
  and
• 16:35
  then
• 16:36
  they
• 16:36
  called
• 16:36
  me
• 16:36
  back
• 16:37
  up
• 16:37
  a
• 16:37
  year
• 16:37
  later.
• 16:37
  I
• 16:37
  went,
• 16:38
  don't
• 16:38
  send
• 16:38
  me
• 16:38
  referrals
• 16:39
  like
• 16:39
  that
• 16:39
  anymore.
• 16:40
  I
• 16:40
  just
• 16:40
  got
• 16:41
  nine
• 16:41
  months
• 16:41
  out
• 16:41
  of
• 16:41
  a
• 16:42
  lawsuit
• 16:42
  with
• 16:42
  them
• 16:43
  because
• 16:43
  they
• 16:43
  were
• 16:43
  hard
• 16:43
  to
• 16:43
  work
• 16:44
  with.
• 16:44
  And
• 16:44
  I
• 16:44
  went,
• 16:45
  I
• 16:45
  had
• 16:45
  no
• 16:45
  idea.
• 16:46
  I
• 16:46
  just
• 16:46
  knew
• 16:46
  they
• 16:46
  weren't
• 16:46
  a
• 16:47
  good
• 16:47
  fit
• 16:47
  for
• 16:47
  me.
• 16:48
  Yeah.
• 16:48
  You
• 16:48
  know,
• 16:49
  but
• 16:49
  they're
• 16:49
  like,
• 16:50
  like
• 16:50
  maybe
• 16:50
  you
• 16:50
  need
• 16:50
  to
• 16:50
  be
• 16:51
  more
• 16:51
  picky.
• 16:51
  I
• 16:51
  was
• 16:51
  trying
• 16:52
  to
• 16:52
  help
• 16:52
  you.
• 16:52
  But
• 16:53
  you
• 16:53
  know
• 16:53
  when
• 16:53
  you
• 16:54
  can
• 16:54
  smell
• 16:54
  those,
• 16:54
  it's
• 16:54
  always
• 16:55
  good
• 16:55
  to
• 16:55
  move
• 16:55
  on.
• 16:55
  Yeah,
• 16:56
  yeah.
• 16:57
  But
• 16:57
  lighting
• 16:58
  is
• 16:58
  one
• 16:58
  of
• 16:58
  those
• 16:58
  things
• 17:00
  that
• 17:00
  now
• 17:01
  every
• 17:01
  builder
• 17:02
  basic
• 17:02
  house
• 17:02
  out
• 17:02
  there
• 17:03
  and
• 17:04
  it
• 17:04
  doesn't
• 17:04
  matter
• 17:05
  if
• 17:05
  it's
• 17:06
  entry
• 17:07
  level
• 17:08
  in
• 17:08
  a
• 17:08
  price
• 17:08
  point
• 17:09
  or
• 17:09
  a
• 17:10
  1
• 17:10
  1/2
• 17:11
  2
• 17:11
  million
• 17:11
  dollar
• 17:12
  builder
• 17:12
  basic
• 17:13
  place,
• 17:13
  which
• 17:13
  what
• 17:13
  I
• 17:13
  would
• 17:13
  call
• 17:14
  in
• 17:14
  some
• 17:14
  instances
• 17:15
  on
• 17:15
  the
• 17:15
  west
• 17:15
  coast
• 17:15
  to
• 17:16
  be
• 17:16
  a
• 17:16
  mid
• 17:16
  range
• 17:16
  house
• 17:17
  lighting
• 17:17
  is
• 17:18
  usually
• 17:18
  horrible.
• 17:18
  And
• 17:19
  it
• 17:19
  was
• 17:19
  done
• 17:20
  by
• 17:21
  somebody
• 17:22
  in
• 17:22
  the
• 17:22
  office
• 17:22
  or
• 17:23
  the
• 17:23
  electrician
• 17:24
  went
• 17:25
  that'll
• 17:25
  be
• 17:25
  good
• 17:25
  enough.
• 17:26
  And
• 17:26
  it
• 17:26
  was
• 17:26
  based
• 17:26
  upon
• 17:27
  the
• 17:27
  price
• 17:28
  point
• 17:28
  of
• 17:28
  the
• 17:28
  light
• 17:29
  fixture
• 17:29
  and
• 17:29
  not
• 17:30
  about
• 17:30
  the
• 17:30
  overall
• 17:30
  design.
• 17:31
  Yeah,
• 17:31
  I
• 17:31
  don't,
• 17:32
  I
• 17:32
  honestly
• 17:32
  don't
• 17:33
  think
• 17:33
  that
• 17:33
  you
• 17:34
  will
• 17:34
  see
• 17:35
  a
• 17:35
  lot
• 17:36
  of
• 17:36
  thoughtful
• 17:37
  lighting
• 17:37
  design
• 17:38
  unless
• 17:39
  you
• 17:39
  invite
• 17:40
  a
• 17:40
  lighting
• 17:41
  designer
• 17:41
  to
• 17:41
  the
• 17:41
  project
• 17:42
  because
• 17:43
  it's
• 17:43
  just
• 17:43
  not
• 17:44
  something
• 17:45
  that
• 17:45
  people
• 17:46
  really
• 17:47
  assign
• 17:47
  value
• 17:48
  to
• 17:48
  yet.
• 17:49
  Nobody's
• 17:50
  trained.
• 17:51
  But
• 17:51
  when
• 17:51
  they
• 17:51
  do
• 17:51
  get
• 17:52
  it
• 17:52
  and
• 17:52
  they
• 17:52
  do
• 17:53
  understand
• 17:53
  their
• 17:54
  project
• 17:54
  is
• 17:55
  so
• 17:55
  much
• 17:56
  more
• 17:56
  beautiful.
• 17:57
  So
• 17:57
  right
• 17:57
  now,
• 17:58
  even
• 17:58
  when
• 17:59
  I
• 17:59
  have
• 17:59
  a
• 17:59
  discovery
• 18:00
  call
• 18:00
  with
• 18:00
  a
• 18:00
  client
• 18:01
  and
• 18:01
  I
• 18:01
  know
• 18:01
  it's
• 18:01
  a
• 18:01
  new
• 18:02
  build
• 18:02
  or
• 18:02
  it's
• 18:02
  a
• 18:02
  gut
• 18:03
  job
• 18:03
  remodel,
• 18:04
  I
• 18:04
  say
• 18:05
  I
• 18:05
  really
• 18:06
  highly
• 18:06
  recommend
• 18:07
  that
• 18:07
  you
• 18:07
  hire
• 18:08
  Carrie
• 18:09
  to
• 18:09
  work
• 18:10
  with
• 18:10
  me
• 18:10
  and
• 18:11
  that
• 18:11
  we
• 18:11
  collaborate
• 18:11
  with
• 18:12
  as
• 18:12
  a
• 18:12
  team
• 18:12
  with
• 18:13
  the
• 18:13
  electrician
• 18:14
  so
• 18:15
  that
• 18:15
  when
• 18:15
  we
• 18:15
  are
• 18:16
  done
• 18:17
  your
• 18:17
  home
• 18:17
  is
• 18:18
  really
• 18:19
  well
• 18:19
  lit.
• 18:20
  And
• 18:20
  by
• 18:20
  that
• 18:21
  I
• 18:21
  mean
• 18:21
  there's
• 18:21
  drama
• 18:22
  where
• 18:22
  there
• 18:22
  needs
• 18:22
  to,
• 18:23
  there's
• 18:23
  task
• 18:23
  lighting
• 18:24
  where
• 18:24
  there
• 18:24
  needs
• 18:24
  to
• 18:24
  be.
• 18:25
  You
• 18:25
  use
• 18:26
  light
• 18:27
  fixtures
• 18:27
  or
• 18:27
  a
• 18:28
  sculpture
• 18:29
  now
• 18:29
  than
• 18:30
  as
• 18:30
  a
• 18:31
  light
• 18:31
  source.
• 18:32
  There's
• 18:32
  just
• 18:32
  so
• 18:33
  many
• 18:33
  things
• 18:33
  to
• 18:33
  know
• 18:34
  and
• 18:34
  it
• 18:35
  are
• 18:35
  this,
• 18:35
  Is
• 18:35
  the
• 18:35
  switching
• 18:36
  programmable?
• 18:36
  Are
• 18:37
  the
• 18:37
  outlets
• 18:37
  programmable?
• 18:38
  Are
• 18:38
  you
• 18:39
  doing
• 18:39
  control
• 18:40
  four?
• 18:40
  Are
• 18:40
  you
• 18:41
  doing
• 18:41
  a
• 18:41
  Lutron
• 18:42
  system.
• 18:42
  Are
• 18:42
  you
• 18:42
  doing
• 18:43
  LeGrand
• 18:43
  and
• 18:43
  Adorn
• 18:44
  and
• 18:44
  all
• 18:44
  those
• 18:44
  different
• 18:45
  things.
• 18:45
  It's
• 18:45
  not
• 18:45
  the
• 18:46
  builder.
• 18:46
  Basic
• 18:47
  fan
• 18:47
  with
• 18:48
  four
• 18:48
  cans
• 18:48
  on
• 18:49
  a
• 18:49
  light
• 18:49
  switch
• 18:49
  with
• 18:49
  a
• 18:50
  remote.
• 18:50
  Exactly.
• 18:51
  It's
• 18:51
  just
• 18:51
  not
• 18:52
  if
• 18:52
  it's
• 18:52
  high
• 18:53
  end
• 18:53
  design
• 18:54
  because.
• 18:54
  Yeah,
• 18:55
  yeah.
• 18:56
  Great
• 18:56
  example
• 18:56
  of
• 18:56
  my
• 18:57
  neighborhood.
• 18:57
  Okay.
• 18:57
  So
• 18:58
  I
• 18:58
  could
• 18:58
  buy
• 18:58
  around
• 18:59
  here
• 18:59
  an
• 18:59
  entry
• 19:00
  level
• 19:00
  home
• 19:00
  for
• 19:01
  575,
• 19:02
  $600,000
• 19:03
  little
• 19:04
  ranch.
• 19:04
  Sure.
• 19:05
  That's
• 19:05
  what
• 19:05
  it
• 19:05
  is.
• 19:06
  There
• 19:06
  is.
• 19:06
  There
• 19:07
  are
• 19:07
  builders
• 19:07
  in
• 19:07
  my
• 19:07
  neighborhood
• 19:08
  that
• 19:08
  I've
• 19:08
  walked
• 19:09
  through.
• 19:09
  Homes
• 19:09
  that
• 19:09
  are
• 19:10
  building
• 19:10
  custom
• 19:11
  ish
• 19:11
  houses
• 19:12
  for
• 19:12
  $2
• 19:13
  million.
• 19:13
  And
• 19:14
  if
• 19:14
  I
• 19:14
  walk
• 19:14
  through
• 19:14
  those,
• 19:15
  there's
• 19:15
  not
• 19:15
  a
• 19:15
  dimmer
• 19:16
  in
• 19:16
  the
• 19:16
  entire
• 19:17
  house.
• 19:17
  That's
• 19:17
  my
• 19:18
  warning
• 19:18
  sign.
• 19:18
  Which
• 19:19
  is
• 19:19
  a
• 19:19
  dimmer
• 19:19
  on
• 19:19
  paper.
• 19:20
  That's
• 19:20
  a
• 19:20
  warning
• 19:21
  sign
• 19:21
  to
• 19:21
  me.
• 19:21
  That
• 19:22
  lighting
• 19:23
  you
• 19:24
  don't
• 19:24
  care
• 19:24
  about.
• 19:25
  It's
• 19:25
  hard.
• 19:25
  It's
• 19:26
  hard.
• 19:26
  It's
• 19:26
  all
• 19:26
  about
• 19:26
  the
• 19:27
  dollars.
• 19:27
  Yeah.
• 19:28
  The
• 19:28
  value
• 19:29
  is.
• 19:29
  And
• 19:30
  honestly,
• 19:30
  the
• 19:31
  last.
• 19:31
  I've
• 19:32
  been
• 19:32
  very
• 19:32
  fortunate.
• 19:33
  Our
• 19:33
  ASID
• 19:34
  chapter
• 19:35
  here,
• 19:35
  locally,
• 19:36
  we've
• 19:36
  won
• 19:37
  four
• 19:37
  years
• 19:38
  in
• 19:38
  a
• 19:38
  row
• 19:39
  for
• 19:39
  multiple
• 19:40
  projects,
• 19:41
  all
• 19:41
  of
• 19:41
  them
• 19:41
  included
• 19:42
  Carrie,
• 19:42
  except
• 19:43
  for
• 19:43
  one.
• 19:43
  Wow,
• 19:44
  that's
• 19:44
  awesome.
• 19:45
  That's
• 19:45
  awesome.
• 19:46
  I'll
• 19:46
  tell
• 19:46
  any
• 19:47
  of
• 19:47
  my
• 19:47
  clients,
• 19:47
  yes,
• 19:48
  that's
• 19:48
  a
• 19:48
  beautiful
• 19:49
  project
• 19:49
  and
• 19:49
  yes,
• 19:49
  I'm
• 19:50
  very
• 19:50
  grateful
• 19:51
  and
• 19:51
  everyone
• 19:51
  on
• 19:52
  that
• 19:52
  project
• 19:52
  was
• 19:52
  very
• 19:53
  gifted.
• 19:53
  But
• 19:53
  it
• 19:54
  shows
• 19:54
  up
• 19:54
  the
• 19:54
  way
• 19:54
  it
• 19:54
  does
• 19:55
  because
• 19:55
  of
• 19:55
  Gary.
• 19:56
  So
• 19:56
  like
• 19:56
  for
• 19:56
  example,
• 19:57
  we
• 19:58
  did
• 19:58
  this
• 19:58
  two
• 19:59
  story
• 19:59
  house
• 20:00
  in
• 20:00
  Ripon,
• 20:01
  California.
• 20:02
  It's
• 20:02
  a
• 20:03
  darling
• 20:03
  community.
• 20:04
  It's
• 20:05
  worth
• 20:05
  the
• 20:05
  investment
• 20:06
  that
• 20:06
  they
• 20:06
  did
• 20:06
  on
• 20:07
  this
• 20:07
  gut
• 20:07
  job
• 20:07
  remodel.
• 20:08
  Because
• 20:08
  homes
• 20:09
  their
• 20:09
  self
• 20:09
  are
• 20:09
  so
• 20:10
  much
• 20:10
  more.
• 20:10
  They're
• 20:11
  a
• 20:11
  huge
• 20:12
  value.
• 20:12
  We
• 20:13
  wanted
• 20:13
  something
• 20:13
  special
• 20:14
  on
• 20:14
  the
• 20:15
  staircase.
• 20:16
  So
• 20:16
  we
• 20:16
  were
• 20:16
  just
• 20:16
  chit
• 20:17
  chatting
• 20:17
  one
• 20:17
  day,
• 20:17
  carrying
• 20:18
  me
• 20:18
  in
• 20:18
  her
• 20:18
  office.
• 20:19
  Cause
• 20:19
  we
• 20:19
  love
• 20:19
  to
• 20:19
  go
• 20:19
  in
• 20:19
  there
• 20:20
  and
• 20:20
  shut
• 20:20
  the
• 20:20
  door
• 20:20
  and
• 20:20
  just
• 20:20
  go
• 20:21
  to
• 20:21
  town
• 20:21
  on
• 20:21
  these
• 20:22
  fun
• 20:22
  ideas.
• 20:22
  And
• 20:23
  I
• 20:23
  said,
• 20:23
  what
• 20:24
  if
• 20:24
  we
• 20:24
  lighted
• 20:24
  each
• 20:25
  tread
• 20:26
  underneath?
• 20:26
  And
• 20:27
  so
• 20:27
  I
• 20:27
  did
• 20:27
  that
• 20:27
  on
• 20:27
  my.
• 20:28
  Stairs
• 20:28
  pucks
• 20:29
  on
• 20:29
  the
• 20:29
  whole.
• 20:30
  I
• 20:30
  did,
• 20:30
  I
• 20:30
  did
• 20:31
  under
• 20:31
  tread
• 20:31
  lighting
• 20:31
  on
• 20:32
  my
• 20:32
  stairs
• 20:32
  in
• 20:32
  my
• 20:32
  house
• 20:33
  with
• 20:33
  strip
• 20:33
  lighting
• 20:34
  and
• 20:35
  so
• 20:35
  pretty
• 20:35
  sexy.
• 20:36
  And
• 20:36
  you
• 20:37
  turn
• 20:37
  it
• 20:37
  on
• 20:37
  and
• 20:37
  you.
• 20:38
  Oh
• 20:38
  my
• 20:38
  gosh.
• 20:39
  Incredible.
• 20:40
  Mine
• 20:41
  is
• 20:41
  on
• 20:41
  24
• 20:42
  7.
• 20:43
  It
• 20:43
  is
• 20:43
  always
• 20:43
  on.
• 20:44
  It's
• 20:44
  on
• 20:44
  in
• 20:44
  the
• 20:45
  day.
• 20:45
  I've
• 20:46
  used
• 20:46
  the
• 20:46
  switch
• 20:47
  for
• 20:47
  it.
• 20:47
  The
• 20:47
  little
• 20:47
  remote
• 20:48
  that
• 20:48
  I
• 20:48
  have
• 20:48
  for
• 20:48
  it.
• 20:48
  I've
• 20:49
  used
• 20:49
  it
• 20:49
  maybe
• 20:50
  twice.
• 20:50
  Yeah.
• 20:51
  And
• 20:51
  I
• 20:51
  just.
• 20:51
  It's
• 20:51
  always
• 20:52
  on.
• 20:52
  It's
• 20:52

• 20:55
  got
• 20:55
  it
• 20:55
  adjusted.
• 20:56
  It
• 20:56
  just
• 20:56
  looks
• 20:56
  gorgeous.
• 20:57
  Yes.
• 20:57
  In
• 20:58
  the
• 20:58
  middle
• 20:58

  lighting
• 23:08
  inside
• 23:09
  your

• 23:09
  I've
• 23:10
  used
• 23:10
  the
• 23:10
  switch
• 23:11
  for
• 23:11
  it,
• 23:11
  the
• 23:11
  little
• 23:12
  remote
• 23:12
  that
• 23:12
  I
• 23:12
  have
• 23:12
  for
• 23:13
  it.
• 23:13
  I've
• 23:13
  used
• 23:13
  it
• 23:13
  maybe
• 23:14
  twice.
• 23:14
  Yeah.
• 23:15
  And
• 23:15
  I
• 23:15
  just,
• 23:15
  it's
• 23:16
  always
• 23:16
  on.
• 23:16
  It's
• 23:17
  the
• 23:17
  best
• 23:17
  nightlight
• 23:18
  during
• 23:18
  the
• 23:19
  day,
• 23:19
  when
• 23:19
  you've
• 23:19
  got
• 23:19
  it
• 23:19
  adjusted,
• 23:20
  it
• 23:20
  just
• 23:20
  looks
• 23:21
  gorgeous.
• 23:21
  Yes.
• 23:22
  In
• 23:22
  the
• 23:22
  middle
• 23:22
  of
• 23:22
  the
• 23:22
  night,
• 23:23
  going
• 23:23
  downstairs,
• 23:24
  it's
• 23:24
  so
• 23:24
  easy.
• 23:25
  It's
• 23:25
  again
• 23:25
  like
• 23:25
  a
• 23:26
  Runway
• 23:26
  light
• 23:26
  coming
• 23:26
  in.
• 23:27
  It's
• 23:27
  here's
• 23:27
  your
• 23:27
  stairs,
• 23:28
  you
• 23:28
  know,
• 23:28
  but.
• 23:29
  Beautiful
• 23:30
  when
• 23:30
  you
• 23:30
  don't
• 23:30
  see.
• 23:31
  And
• 23:31
  it's
• 23:31
  really
• 23:31
  great
• 23:32
  because
• 23:32
  as
• 23:32
  designers,
• 23:33
  we
• 23:33
  get
• 23:33
  to
• 23:33
  know,
• 23:34
  like
• 23:34
  our
• 23:34
  teams
• 23:34
  and
• 23:34
  our
• 23:35
  buddies
• 23:35
  and
• 23:35
  the
• 23:35
  people
• 23:35
  who
• 23:35
  are
• 23:36
  more
• 23:36
  willing
• 23:36
  to
• 23:36
  try
• 23:37
  something
• 23:37
  new.
• 23:37
  So
• 23:38
  we
• 23:38
  worked
• 23:39
  with
• 23:39
  our
• 23:39
  flooring
• 23:40
  guys
• 23:40
  at
• 23:41
  Wallace
• 23:41
  to
• 23:42
  figure
• 23:42
  out
• 23:42
  what
• 23:43
  kind
• 23:43
  of
• 23:43
  reveal
• 23:44
  do
• 23:44
  we
• 23:44
  need
• 23:45
  and
• 23:45
  what,
• 23:45
  how
• 23:46
  deep
• 23:46
  does
• 23:46
  that
• 23:46
  stair
• 23:47
  tread
• 23:47
  have
• 23:47
  to
• 23:47
  be
• 23:48
  and
• 23:48
  what
• 23:48
  is
• 23:48
  the
• 23:49
  rise
• 23:49
  is
• 23:49
  code,
• 23:50
  obviously,
• 23:50
  but
• 23:51
  all
• 23:51
  those
• 23:51
  little
• 23:51
  parts
• 23:52
  and
• 23:52
  pieces
• 23:52
  and
• 23:53
  how
• 23:53
  are
• 23:53
  we
• 23:53
  going
• 23:53
  to
• 23:53
  wire
• 23:54
  all
• 23:54
  that?
• 23:54
  And
• 23:54
  then
• 23:55
  when
• 23:55
  clients
• 23:56
  have
• 23:56
  the
• 23:56
  objection,
• 23:56
  you
• 23:57
  know
• 23:57
  what
• 23:57
  happens
• 23:57
  when
• 23:57
  this
• 23:58
  burns
• 23:58
  out?
• 23:58
  Easy.
• 23:59
  LED
• 23:59
  light
• 23:59
  from
• 24:00
  Lowe's.
• 24:01
  That's
• 24:01
  one
• 24:01
  thing.
• 24:02
  That's
• 24:02
  one
• 24:02
  thing.
• 24:02
  LED
• 24:03
  light
• 24:03
  from
• 24:03
  a
• 24:04
  high
• 24:04
  end
• 24:04
  lighting
• 24:05
  showroom,
• 24:05
  that's
• 24:06
  another
• 24:06
  thing.
• 24:06
  And
• 24:07
  I'm
• 24:07
  running
• 24:07
  into
• 24:08
  that
• 24:08
  too,
• 24:08
  with
• 24:08
  a
• 24:08
  lot
• 24:08
  of
• 24:09
  the
• 24:09
  commercial
• 24:09
  work
• 24:09
  that
• 24:09
  we're
• 24:10
  doing
• 24:10
  because
• 24:10
  we're
• 24:10
  using
• 24:11
  lighting
• 24:12
  as
• 24:12
  art
• 24:13
  itself
• 24:13
  itself.
• 24:14
  So
• 24:14
  again,
• 24:14
  with
• 24:15
  Cari's
• 24:15
  help,
• 24:15
  I
• 24:16
  can't
• 24:16
  do
• 24:16
  this
• 24:16
  by
• 24:16
  myself.
• 24:17
  We're
• 24:17
  running
• 24:18
  light
• 24:18
  that
• 24:19
  just
• 24:19
  floats
• 24:20
  across
• 24:20
  a
• 24:21
  hallway
• 24:21
  and
• 24:22
  then
• 24:22
  turns
• 24:22
  and
• 24:22
  goes
• 24:23
  at
• 24:23
  an
• 24:23
  angle
• 24:23
  down
• 24:24
  the
• 24:24
  wall.
• 24:24
  That.
• 24:25
  And
• 24:25
  it's
• 24:25
  wonderful
• 24:26
  because
• 24:26
  what
• 24:26
  it
• 24:27
  does
• 24:27
  is
• 24:27
  it
• 24:27
  takes
• 24:27
  your
• 24:28
  eye
• 24:28
  back
• 24:28
  and
• 24:28
  forth
• 24:29
  down
• 24:29
  a
• 24:29
  hallway.
• 24:30
  So
• 24:30
  this
• 24:30
  is
• 24:30
  in
• 24:30
  a
• 24:31
  dental
• 24:31
  office.
• 24:32
  And
• 24:32
  it's
• 24:32
  been
• 24:32
  shown
• 24:33
  that
• 24:33
  when
• 24:34
  you're
• 24:34
  anxious,
• 24:35
  if
• 24:35
  you
• 24:35
  just
• 24:35
  have
• 24:36
  to
• 24:36
  see
• 24:36
  one
• 24:36
  long
• 24:37
  haul
• 24:38
  uninterrupted,
• 24:39
  it
• 24:39
  ratchets
• 24:40
  up
• 24:40
  your
• 24:40
  anxiety.
• 24:41
  Your
• 24:42
  eye
• 24:42
  experiences
• 24:43
  it
• 24:43
  as
• 24:43
  it,
• 24:44
  as
• 24:44
  you
• 24:44
  move
• 24:44
  down
• 24:45
  the
• 24:45
  hall,
• 24:46
  it
• 24:46
  takes
• 24:46
  it
• 24:46
  back
• 24:46
  down.
• 24:47
  So
• 24:47
  that
• 24:47
  light
• 24:48
  insulation
• 24:49
  going
• 24:49
  back
• 24:49
  and
• 24:50
  forth
• 24:50
  and
• 24:50
  across
• 24:50
  the
• 24:51
  hall
• 24:51
  and
• 24:51
  the
• 24:51
  hole.
• 24:52
  And
• 24:52
  it
• 24:52
  was
• 24:53
  just
• 24:53
  incredible
• 24:54
  and
• 24:54
  so
• 24:55
  much
• 24:55
  fun.
• 24:55
  Who
• 24:55
  knew
• 24:56
  you
• 24:56
  could
• 24:56
  Play
• 24:56
  with
• 24:57
  light.
• 24:58
  That's
• 24:58
  just
• 24:58
  the
• 24:59
  new
• 24:59
  frontier,
• 24:59
  Right.
• 25:00
  It's
• 25:00
  so
• 25:00
  exciting.
• 25:01
  Yeah,
• 25:02
  it
• 25:02
  is.
• 25:02
  Great
• 25:03
  example.
• 25:03
  And
• 25:03
  I
• 25:03
  want
• 25:04
  to
• 25:04
  touch
• 25:04
  on
• 25:04
  this
• 25:04
  because
• 25:05
  that
• 25:05
  way
• 25:05
  people
• 25:05
  really
• 25:06
  know
• 25:06
  the
• 25:07
  how
• 25:07
  important
• 25:07
  this
• 25:08
  is.
• 25:08
  What
• 25:08
  you
• 25:08
  said
• 25:09
  there
• 25:09
  is
• 25:09
  so
• 25:09
  important
• 25:10
  about
• 25:10
  lighting.
• 25:11
  If
• 25:11
  you
• 25:11
  go
• 25:11
  into
• 25:12
  your
• 25:12
  retail
• 25:13
  location,
• 25:14
  your
• 25:14
  big
• 25:14
  box
• 25:15
  store.
• 25:15
  Great
• 25:16
  example.
• 25:16
  I
• 25:16
  have
• 25:17
  nice
• 25:18
  light
• 25:18
  fixtures
• 25:18
  in
• 25:19
  my
• 25:19
  master
• 25:19
  bathroom.
• 25:20
  I
• 25:20
  am
• 25:21
  on
• 25:22
  in
• 25:22
  four
• 25:23
  years.
• 25:23
  I'm
• 25:24
  on
• 25:24
  my
• 25:24
  third
• 25:25
  set
• 25:26
  of
• 25:26
  name
• 25:26
  brand
• 25:27
  LED
• 25:28
  bulbs,
• 25:28
  and
• 25:28
  I'll
• 25:29
  use
• 25:29
  the
• 25:29
  word
• 25:29
  Sylvania
• 25:30
  third
• 25:31
  set.
• 25:31
  Now
• 25:32
  my
• 25:32
  lights,
• 25:32
  who
• 25:32
  have
• 25:33
  been
• 25:33
  in
• 25:33
  my
• 25:33
  kitchen
• 25:34
  for
• 25:34
  another
• 25:34
  year
• 25:35
  and
• 25:35
  a
• 25:35
  half
• 25:35
  or
• 25:35
  two
• 25:36
  years,
• 25:36
  which
• 25:36
  are
• 25:37
  from
• 25:37
  the
• 25:37
  lighting
• 25:38
  store,
• 25:38
  no
• 25:39
  issues
• 25:39
  whatsoever.
• 25:40
  Nora.
• 25:41
  Actually,
• 25:41
  it
• 25:41
  is.
• 25:42
  How
• 25:42
  did
• 25:42
  you
• 25:42
  guess?
• 25:43
  Because
• 25:43
  I
• 25:44
  have
• 25:44
  a
• 25:44
  really
• 25:44
  good
• 25:45
  friend
• 25:45
  named
• 25:45
  Carrie
• 25:45
  Arnold
• 25:46
  who's
• 25:46
  a
• 25:46
  lighting
• 25:46
  designer
• 25:47
  and
• 25:47
  taught
• 25:48
  me
• 25:48
  all
• 25:48
  these
• 25:48
  great
• 25:49
  things.
• 25:49
  I
• 25:49
  have
• 25:50
  Nora.
• 25:50
  Exactly.
• 25:51
  Yeah,
• 25:52
  I
• 25:52
  have
• 25:52
  Nora.
• 25:53
  I
• 25:53
  have
• 25:53
  Nora.
• 25:53
  3
• 25:54
  inch
• 25:54
  boxes
• 25:54
  in
• 25:54
  there.
• 25:55
  They're
• 25:55
  big
• 25:55
  boxes
• 25:55
  that
• 25:56
  go
• 25:56
  up
• 25:56
  in
• 25:56
  the
• 25:56
  little
• 25:56
  light
• 25:57
  and
• 25:57
  you
• 25:57
  can
• 25:58
  change
• 25:58
  out
• 25:58
  when
• 25:58
  you
• 25:59
  put
• 25:59
  them
• 25:59
  in.
• 25:59
  It
• 25:59
  comes
• 25:59
  with
• 25:59
  a
• 26:00
  bunch
• 26:00
  of
• 26:00
  the
• 26:00
  different
• 26:00
  lenses
• 26:01
  to
• 26:01
  how
• 26:01
  do
• 26:02
  you
• 26:02
  want
• 26:02
  the
• 26:02
  light
• 26:02
  shaped?
• 26:03
  So
• 26:03
  like
• 26:04
  exactly
• 26:04
  that
• 26:05
  filter
• 26:05
  that
• 26:05
  does
• 26:05
  this
• 26:06
  cool
• 26:06
  thing
• 26:06
  and
• 26:07
  it
• 26:07
  has
• 26:07
  that
• 26:08
  little,
• 26:08
  like
• 26:08
  a
• 26:08
  little
• 26:09
  switch.
• 26:10
  And
• 26:10
  you
• 26:10
  can
• 26:10
  go
• 26:10
  from
• 26:11
  2700
• 26:12
  to
• 26:12
  3000
• 26:14
  to
• 26:14
  4000
• 26:15
  for
• 26:15
  the
• 26:15
  color
• 26:16
  temperature.
• 26:17
  So
• 26:17
  for
• 26:17
  people,
• 26:18
  I'm
• 26:18
  big
• 26:18
  on
• 26:18
  tuning.
• 26:19
  In
• 26:19
  my
• 26:19
  color
• 26:19
  temps.
• 26:20
  Yeah.
• 26:21
  So
• 26:21
  2700
• 26:22
  is
• 26:23
  probably
• 26:23
  the
• 26:23
  easiest
• 26:24
  to
• 26:24
  live
• 26:24
  around.
• 26:25
  That's
• 26:25
  your
• 26:26
  incandescent
• 26:26
  light
• 26:26
  bulb,
• 26:27
  right?
• 26:27
  Yeah.
• 26:28
  3,000
• 26:28
  gives
• 26:28
  you
• 26:29
  more
• 26:29
  if
• 26:29
  you
• 26:29
  need
• 26:29
  to
• 26:30
  more
• 26:30
  for
• 26:30
  task
• 26:31
  or
• 26:32
  specialty
• 26:32
  things
• 26:32
  around
• 26:33
  the
• 26:33
  house.
• 26:33
  And
• 26:33
  in
• 26:34
  my
• 26:34
  office
• 26:34
  of
• 26:34
  our
• 26:35
  studio.
• 26:35
  Studio,
• 26:35
  we
• 26:36
  have
• 26:36
  4,000
• 26:37
  because
• 26:37
  it's
• 26:37
  absolutely
• 26:38
  clean.
• 26:39
  So
• 26:39
  that
• 26:39
  way,
• 26:40
  when
• 26:40
  we're
• 26:40
  doing
• 26:40
  color
• 26:41
  selections
• 26:41
  and
• 26:42
  we're
• 26:42
  choosing
• 26:42
  materials,
• 26:43
  we
• 26:43
  are
• 26:43
  absolutely
• 26:44
  certain
• 26:45
  that
• 26:45
  grout
• 26:45
  color
• 26:46
  is
• 26:46
  going
• 26:46
  to
• 26:46
  work
• 26:47
  with
• 26:47
  that
• 26:47
  tile.
• 26:48
  Because
• 26:48
  you're
• 26:48
  not
• 26:49
  adding
• 26:49
  color
• 26:49
  from
• 26:49
  the
• 26:49
  light.
• 26:50
  Figure
• 26:50
  out
• 26:51
  the
• 26:51
  color
• 26:51
  temperature
• 26:51
  of
• 26:52
  the
• 26:52
  lighting
• 26:52
  so
• 26:52
  that
• 26:53
  it
• 26:53
  would
• 26:53
  be
• 26:53
  accurate.
• 26:54
  Because
• 26:54
  oh,
• 26:54
  my
• 26:54
  gosh,
• 26:55
  as
• 26:55
  an
• 26:55
  interior
• 26:55
  designer,
• 26:56
  if
• 26:56
  I'm
• 26:56
  not
• 26:56
  picking
• 26:57
  the
• 26:57
  right
• 26:57
  colors,
• 26:57
  I
• 26:58
  have
• 26:58
  no
• 26:58
  job.
• 26:59
  So
• 27:00
  let
• 27:00
  me
• 27:00
  tell
• 27:00
  you
• 27:00
  something
• 27:00
  that's
• 27:01
  interesting.
• 27:02
  Here's
• 27:02
  a
• 27:02
  trick
• 27:03
  that
• 27:03
  I
• 27:03
  learned
• 27:03
  from
• 27:03
  my
• 27:04
  years
• 27:04
  of
• 27:04
  doing
• 27:04
  tv.
• 27:05
  There
• 27:05
  is
• 27:05
  an
• 27:06
  app
• 27:06
  that
• 27:06
  you
• 27:06
  can
• 27:06
  put
• 27:07
  on
• 27:07
  the
• 27:07
  phone,
• 27:07
  on
• 27:07
  your
• 27:08
  phone
• 27:08
  called
• 27:08
  the
• 27:08
  light
• 27:09
  meter,
• 27:09
  and
• 27:09
  it
• 27:09
  tells
• 27:10
  you
• 27:10
  the
• 27:10
  color
• 27:10
  temperature
• 27:11
  of
• 27:11
  the
• 27:11
  room
• 27:12
  and
• 27:12
  you
• 27:13
  can
• 27:13
  see.
• 27:13
  And
• 27:14
  what's
• 27:14
  cool
• 27:14
  is
• 27:15
  if
• 27:15
  you
• 27:15
  walk
• 27:15
  into
• 27:15
  a
• 27:15
  room
• 27:16
  and
• 27:16
  turn
• 27:16
  the
• 27:16
  lights
• 27:16
  off
• 27:17
  and
• 27:17
  there's
• 27:17
  a
• 27:17
  lot
• 27:17
  of
• 27:17
  glass.
• 27:18
  Now
• 27:18
  you
• 27:18
  can
• 27:18
  see
• 27:19
  how
• 27:19
  the
• 27:19
  window
• 27:20
  glass,
• 27:20
  maybe
• 27:21
  the
• 27:21
  UV
• 27:21
  coating
• 27:22
  or
• 27:22
  whatever
• 27:23
  is
• 27:23
  doing
• 27:23
  that.
• 27:24
  So
• 27:24
  if
• 27:24
  you
• 27:24
  want
• 27:25
  to
• 27:25
  add
• 27:25
  to
• 27:26
  that
• 27:26
  and
• 27:26
  change
• 27:27
  with
• 27:27
  that,
• 27:27
  of
• 27:28
  Daylight,
• 27:28
  you
• 27:28
  can
• 27:28
  actually
• 27:29
  put
• 27:29
  lights
• 27:29
  in
• 27:29
  that
• 27:30
  don't
• 27:30
  fight
• 27:30
  that
• 27:30
  color
• 27:31
  temperature
• 27:31
  to
• 27:31
  be
• 27:31
  on
• 27:31
  the
• 27:32
  same
• 27:32
  plane
• 27:32
  and
• 27:32
  that
• 27:33
  same.
• 27:33
  So
• 27:33
  you're
• 27:33
  not
• 27:34
  dragging
• 27:34
  that
• 27:34
  another
• 27:35
  way
• 27:35
  or
• 27:35
  having
• 27:35
  them
• 27:35
  be
• 27:36
  two
• 27:36
  different
• 27:36
  colors
• 27:37
  so
• 27:37
  you
• 27:37
  can
• 27:37
  walk
• 27:38
  into
• 27:38
  the
• 27:38
  room
• 27:38
  and
• 27:38
  go,
• 27:38
  wow,
• 27:39
  this
• 27:39
  is
• 27:39
  a
• 27:39
  3400
• 27:41
  kelvin
• 27:41
  color
• 27:41
  in
• 27:42
  here.
• 27:42
  With
• 27:42
  no
• 27:42
  lights
• 27:43
  on,
• 27:43
  UV
• 27:44
  coating
• 27:44
  or
• 27:44
  the
• 27:45
  trees
• 27:45
  or
• 27:45
  whatever,
• 27:46
  or
• 27:46
  reflection
• 27:47
  off
• 27:47
  the
• 27:47
  water
• 27:48
  or
• 27:48
  whatever
• 27:48
  it
• 27:48
  is
• 27:48
  that
• 27:49
  has
• 27:49
  bent
• 27:49
  the
• 27:49
  light
• 27:49
  a
• 27:50
  little
• 27:50
  bit.
• 27:50
  You
• 27:51
  can
• 27:51
  walk
• 27:51
  in
• 27:51
  and
• 27:51
  go,
• 27:51
  boom.
• 27:52
  That's
• 27:52
  what
• 27:52
  it
• 27:52
  is.
• 27:53
  And
• 27:53
  now
• 27:53
  I'm
• 27:53
  going
• 27:53
  to
• 27:53
  see
• 27:53
  if
• 27:54
  I
• 27:54
  can
• 27:54
  get
• 27:54
  that
• 27:54
  close.
• 27:55
  Wow.
• 27:56
  Very
• 27:56
  cool.
• 27:57
  So
• 27:57
  that's
• 27:57
  one
• 27:57
  of
• 27:57
  my
• 27:57
  little
• 27:58
  tricks
• 27:58
  that
• 27:58
  I
• 27:58
  got
• 27:58
  into
• 27:59
  the
• 27:59
  weeds
• 27:59
  on.
• 27:59
  I
• 28:00
  need
• 28:00
  to
• 28:00
  do.
• 28:00
  Yeah,
• 28:01
  that's
• 28:01
  cool.
• 28:02
  You
• 28:02
  know
• 28:02
  what
• 28:02
  I
• 28:02
  mean?
• 28:02
  So
• 28:03
  that
• 28:03
  way
• 28:03
  you
• 28:03
  don't
• 28:03
  have.
• 28:04
  You
• 28:04
  don't
• 28:04
  have
• 28:04
  a
• 28:04
  32
• 28:05
  and
• 28:05
  a
• 28:05
  four
• 28:06
  fighting
• 28:06
  each
• 28:06
  other
• 28:06
  in
• 28:06
  the
• 28:07
  same
• 28:07
  room
• 28:07
  because
• 28:07
  it
• 28:07
  doesn't
• 28:08
  feel
• 28:08
  right.
• 28:09
  Plus,
• 28:09
  if
• 28:09
  you
• 28:09
  have
• 28:09
  a
• 28:09
  beautiful
• 28:10
  project
• 28:10
  that
• 28:11
  you've
• 28:11
  just
• 28:11
  finished
• 28:11
  designing
• 28:12
  and
• 28:12
  you
• 28:12
  have
• 28:12
  a
• 28:13
  photographer
• 28:13
  come
• 28:13
  in,
• 28:14
  you're
• 28:14
  gonna
• 28:15
  always
• 28:15
  take
• 28:15
  them
• 28:15
  with
• 28:15
  the
• 28:15
  lights
• 28:16
  off
• 28:16
  and
• 28:16
  with
• 28:17
  all
• 28:17
  of
• 28:17
  them
• 28:17
  on.
• 28:18
  And
• 28:18
  when
• 28:18
  they
• 28:19
  fight,
• 28:19
  oh,
• 28:19
  it's
• 28:19
  embarrassing
• 28:20
  because
• 28:20
  there's
• 28:20
  pink
• 28:21
  over
• 28:21
  here
• 28:21
  and
• 28:21
  yellow
• 28:22
  over
• 28:22
  here
• 28:22
  and
• 28:22
  clean
• 28:23
  white
• 28:23
  over
• 28:23
  here,
• 28:23
  and
• 28:24
  it
• 28:24
  looks
• 28:25
  like
• 28:25
  garbage.
• 28:26
  It's.
• 28:27
  So
• 28:27
  anyway,
• 28:28
  that's
• 28:28
  my
• 28:28
  little
• 28:29
  trick
• 28:29
  to
• 28:29
  when
• 28:29
  you
• 28:29
  have
• 28:29
  a
• 28:30
  lot
• 28:30
  of
• 28:30
  sunlight
• 28:30
  in
• 28:31
  there,
• 28:31
  because
• 28:31
  I've
• 28:32
  noticed
• 28:32
  that.
• 28:33
  I've
• 28:33
  seen
• 28:33
  where
• 28:33
  the
• 28:34
  windows
• 28:34
  can
• 28:34
  really
• 28:35
  change
• 28:35
  that
• 28:35
  depending
• 28:36
  on
• 28:36
  what
• 28:36
  the
• 28:36
  coating
• 28:37
  is,
• 28:37
  or
• 28:37
  even
• 28:37
  what
• 28:38
  the
• 28:38
  reflection
• 28:38
  off
• 28:38
  a
• 28:38
  lake
• 28:39
  or
• 28:39
  ocean
• 28:39
  can
• 28:39
  do,
• 28:40
  or.
• 28:40
  Even
• 28:40
  trees
• 28:41
  in
• 28:41
  the
• 28:41
  backyard.
• 28:41
  This
• 28:42
  is
• 28:42
  green
• 28:43
  in
• 28:43
  here
• 28:43
  right
• 28:43
  now,
• 28:44
  right?
• 28:44
  Yeah.
• 28:45
  So
• 28:45
  it'll
• 28:45
  tweak
• 28:46
  that
• 28:46
  a
• 28:46
  little
• 28:46
  bit.
• 28:46
  So
• 28:46
  it's
• 28:47
  a
• 28:47
  good
• 28:47
  little
• 28:47
  trick
• 28:47
  that
• 28:47
  I
• 28:47
  do.
• 28:48
  Super
• 28:48
  clever.
• 28:48
  It's
• 28:48
  a
• 28:49
  free
• 28:49
  app
• 28:49
  on
• 28:49
  your
• 28:49
  phone.
• 28:50
  Come
• 28:50
  on.
• 28:51
  I
• 28:51
  have
• 28:51
  the
• 28:51
  tool.
• 28:51
  Sorry.
• 28:52
  Level
• 28:52
  up,
• 28:52
  Wendy.
• 28:53
  Come
• 28:53
  on.
• 28:53
  Ah,
• 28:53
  there
• 28:54
  we
• 28:54
  go.
• 28:54
  I
• 28:55
  have
• 28:55
  a
• 28:55
  goal.
• 28:55
  Every
• 28:55
  episode,
• 28:56
  I'm
• 28:56
  going
• 28:56
  to
• 28:56
  give
• 28:56
  you
• 28:56
  one
• 28:56
  more
• 28:57
  little
• 28:57
  thing.
• 28:57
  I
• 28:57
  love
• 28:58
  it.
• 28:58
  That's
• 28:58
  great.
• 28:59
  I'm
• 28:59
  grateful.
• 28:59
  I'll
• 29:00
  take
• 29:00
  it.
• 29:00
  Thank
• 29:00
  you.
• 29:01
  Oh,
• 29:01
  we
• 29:01
  all
• 29:01
  will.
• 29:01
  It's
• 29:01
  just.
• 29:02
  Oh,
• 29:02
  cool.
• 29:02
  Another
• 29:02
  tool
• 29:02
  in
• 29:03
  the
• 29:03
  toolbox,
• 29:03
  right?
• 29:03
  Yes,
• 29:04
  for
• 29:04
  sure.
• 29:05
  It's
• 29:05
  so
• 29:05
  fun
• 29:06
  with.
• 29:07
  Especially
• 29:07
  when
• 29:07
  you
• 29:07
  get
• 29:08
  into.
• 29:08
  With
• 29:08
  lighting
• 29:08
  design.
• 29:09
  People
• 29:09
  that
• 29:09
  have
• 29:09
  art
• 29:10
  or
• 29:10
  even
• 29:11
  exteriors
• 29:11
  are
• 29:12
  so
• 29:12
  much
• 29:12
  fun.
• 29:13
  I
• 29:13
  geek
• 29:14
  out
• 29:14
  on
• 29:14
  exterior
• 29:14
  lighting
• 29:15
  because
• 29:15
  you
• 29:15
  can
• 29:15
  do
• 29:16
  amazing
• 29:17
  stuff.
• 29:17
  And
• 29:17
  no,
• 29:18
  I'm
• 29:18
  not
• 29:18
  talking
• 29:18
  about
• 29:18
  walking
• 29:19
  down
• 29:19
  your
• 29:19
  home
• 29:19
  center
• 29:19
  and
• 29:19
  buying
• 29:20
  the
• 29:20
  plastic
• 29:20
  stuff
• 29:20
  off
• 29:21
  of
• 29:21
  that.
• 29:21
  I'm
• 29:22
  talking
• 29:22
  go
• 29:23
  buy
• 29:23
  your
• 29:23
  lighting
• 29:23
  store
• 29:24
  and
• 29:24
  get
• 29:24
  the
• 29:24
  stuff
• 29:25
  that's
• 29:25
  anodized
• 29:26
  aluminum
• 29:27
  or
• 29:27
  stainless
• 29:27
  that's
• 29:27
  got
• 29:28
  A
• 29:28
  coating
• 29:28
  on
• 29:28
  it
• 29:28
  or
• 29:29
  whatever
• 29:29
  you're
• 29:29
  trying
• 29:29
  to
• 29:29
  do
• 29:30
  that
• 29:30
  you'll
• 29:31
  put
• 29:31
  in,
• 29:31
  and
• 29:31
  10
• 29:32
  years
• 29:32
  later,
• 29:32
  you'll
• 29:32
  forget
• 29:33
  that
• 29:33
  you
• 29:33
  did.
• 29:33
  Other
• 29:34
  than
• 29:34
  keeping
• 29:34
  them
• 29:34
  clean,
• 29:35
  you
• 29:35
  had
• 29:35
  something
• 29:35
  to
• 29:35
  do
• 29:35
  to
• 29:36
  these
• 29:36
  things.
• 29:36
  Agreed.
• 29:37
  Yeah.
• 29:38
  This
• 29:38
  year
• 29:38
  we
• 29:39
  won
• 29:39
  an
• 29:39
  award
• 29:39
  for
• 29:40
  best
• 29:40
  outdoor
• 29:40
  space
• 29:41
  and
• 29:41
  specialty
• 29:42
  kitchen
• 29:42
  for
• 29:42
  the
• 29:42
  NKBA
• 29:43
  awards
• 29:43
  at
• 29:43
  kvis.
• 29:44
  And
• 29:45
  again,
• 29:46
  Carrie
• 29:46
  was
• 29:46
  a
• 29:46
  big
• 29:47
  part
• 29:47
  of
• 29:47
  that
• 29:47
  because
• 29:47
  she
• 29:48
  helped
• 29:48
  me
• 29:48
  light
• 29:49
  up
• 29:49
  the
• 29:49
  interior
• 29:49
  of
• 29:50
  the
• 29:50
  pergola.
• 29:51
  And
• 29:51
  then
• 29:51
  we
• 29:51
  had
• 29:51
  these
• 29:52
  beautiful
• 29:52
  pavers,
• 29:53
  limestone
• 29:54
  pavers
• 29:54
  in
• 29:54
  the
• 29:54
  backyard.
• 29:55
  And
• 29:55
  we.
• 29:56
  She.
• 29:56
  We.
• 29:57
  That's
• 29:57
  really
• 29:57
  not
• 29:58
  fair.
• 29:58
  She
• 29:59
  shot
• 29:59
  a
• 29:59
  beam
• 30:00
  of
• 30:00
  light
• 30:00
  this
• 30:01
  way,
• 30:01
  and
• 30:01
  then
• 30:02
  on
• 30:02
  the
• 30:02
  next
• 30:02
  paver,
• 30:03
  it
• 30:03
  went
• 30:03
  that
• 30:03
  way.
• 30:04
  You're
• 30:04
  just
• 30:05
  weaving
• 30:05
  it.
• 30:06
  So
• 30:06
  beautiful.
• 30:07
  And
• 30:07
  then.
• 30:07
  That's
• 30:08
  cool.
• 30:08
  The
• 30:09
  light
• 30:09
  fixtures
• 30:09
  that
• 30:09
  we
• 30:10
  used
• 30:10
  out
• 30:10
  there
• 30:10
  were
• 30:11
  much
• 30:11
  more
• 30:11
  about
• 30:12
  a
• 30:12
  sculptural
• 30:13
  interest
• 30:14
  piece
• 30:14
  than
• 30:14
  it
• 30:14
  was
• 30:15
  about
• 30:15
  lighting
• 30:15
  anything.
• 30:16
  Because
• 30:16
  she
• 30:17
  had
• 30:17
  done
• 30:17
  it
• 30:18
  all
• 30:18
  without
• 30:19
  being
• 30:19
  able
• 30:19
  to
• 30:19
  actually
• 30:20
  see.
• 30:20
  See
• 30:21
  anything.
• 30:21
  And
• 30:21
  I
• 30:21
  think
• 30:22
  that's
• 30:22
  a
• 30:22
  really
• 30:22
  fun
• 30:23
  part
• 30:23
  of
• 30:23
  a
• 30:24
  lot
• 30:24
  of
• 30:24
  the
• 30:24
  work
• 30:24
  that
• 30:24
  we're
• 30:25
  doing
• 30:25
  now.
• 30:25
  Just
• 30:26
  like
• 30:26
  recessing
• 30:28
  or
• 30:29
  bringing
• 30:29
  the
• 30:29
  ceiling
• 30:30
  down
• 30:30
  to
• 30:30
  leave
• 30:30
  a
• 30:30
  tiny
• 30:31
  recess
• 30:31
  to
• 30:31
  put
• 30:31
  in
• 30:32
  the
• 30:32
  lighting.
• 30:32
  Like,
• 30:32
  we
• 30:32
  did
• 30:32
  that
• 30:33
  around
• 30:33
  this
• 30:33
  big
• 30:33
  steam
• 30:34
  shower
• 30:34
  recently.
• 30:35
  Or
• 30:35
  the
• 30:36
  mudden
• 30:36
  LED
• 30:37
  linear
• 30:38
  lighting
• 30:38
  where
• 30:39
  we
• 30:39
  had
• 30:40
  this
• 30:40
  huge
• 30:40
  window
• 30:41
  over
• 30:41
  a
• 30:42
  sink
• 30:42
  vanity
• 30:42
  in
• 30:43
  a
• 30:43
  master
• 30:43
  bath.
• 30:44
  And
• 30:44
  we
• 30:44
  wanted
• 30:44
  to
• 30:45
  have
• 30:45
  a
• 30:45
  beautiful
• 30:46
  mirror,
• 30:46
  too,
• 30:46
  so
• 30:47
  we
• 30:47
  did
• 30:47
  a
• 30:47
  custom
• 30:47
  mirror
• 30:48
  that
• 30:48
  was
• 30:48
  suspended
• 30:48
  from
• 30:49
  the
• 30:49
  ceiling
• 30:50
  joists.
• 30:50
  But
• 30:51
  there
• 30:51
  was
• 30:51
  no
• 30:52
  opportunity
• 30:52
  for
• 30:52
  a
• 30:53
  light
• 30:53
  there.
• 30:53
  Right.
• 30:54
  We
• 30:54
  did
• 30:54
  this
• 30:55
  whole
• 30:55
  mudded
• 30:56
  in
• 30:56
  beautiful
• 30:58
  LED
• 30:59
  frame
• 30:59
  on
• 30:59
  the
• 31:00
  window.
• 31:00
  My
• 31:01
  gosh,
• 31:01
  it
• 31:01
  was
• 31:02
  so
• 31:02
  much
• 31:02
  fun.
• 31:03
  And
• 31:03
  even,
• 31:04
  like,
• 31:04
  lighting
• 31:04
  up.
• 31:05
  I'm
• 31:05
  sorry,
• 31:05
  you
• 31:05
  can
• 31:06
  tell
• 31:06
  I
• 31:06
  geek
• 31:06
  out.
• 31:06
  I'm
• 31:07
  just
• 31:07
  going
• 31:07
  on
• 31:07
  and
• 31:07
  on.
• 31:08
  Yeah,
• 31:08
  no,
• 31:09
  no.
• 31:10
  Like
• 31:10
  that
• 31:10
  channel
• 31:11
  around.
• 31:11
  We
• 31:11
  had
• 31:12
  this
• 31:12
  beautiful
• 31:13
  dimensional
• 31:14
  marble
• 31:14
  tile
• 31:15
  around
• 31:15
  this
• 31:15
  fireplace
• 31:16
  at
• 31:16
  the
• 31:17
  mantelpiece.
• 31:17
  And
• 31:18
  so
• 31:18
  we
• 31:18
  did
• 31:18
  our
• 31:19
  same
• 31:19
  little
• 31:19
  trick
• 31:19
  like
• 31:19
  we
• 31:20
  did
• 31:20
  on
• 31:20
  the
• 31:20
  stairs.
• 31:21
  And
• 31:21
  so
• 31:21
  that
• 31:22
  whole
• 31:22
  thing,
• 31:22
  you
• 31:22
  can
• 31:22
  see
• 31:23
  it
• 31:23
  do
• 31:23
  this.
• 31:24
  Yeah,
• 31:25
  I
• 31:25
  did
• 31:25
  this
• 31:26
  with
• 31:26
  my.
• 31:26
  I
• 31:26
  built
• 31:26
  a
• 31:27
  wine
• 31:27
  rack
• 31:27
  in
• 31:27
  my
• 31:27
  dining
• 31:28
  room.
• 31:28
  It's
• 31:29
  kitchen,
• 31:29
  dining
• 31:29
  room.
• 31:30
  One
• 31:30
  room.
• 31:30
  And
• 31:31
  so
• 31:31
  holds
• 31:31
  85
• 31:32
  bottles.
• 31:32
  And
• 31:33
  it's
• 31:33
  the
• 31:33
  post
• 31:33
  style,
• 31:34
  where
• 31:34
  you
• 31:34
  can
• 31:34
  stack
• 31:35
  like
• 31:35
  three
• 31:35
  bottles
• 31:35
  on
• 31:36
  there.
• 31:36
  Pretty.
• 31:37
  And
• 31:37
  so
• 31:37
  what
• 31:37
  I
• 31:37
  did
• 31:38
  is
• 31:38
  I
• 31:38
  made
• 31:38
  it
• 31:38
  out
• 31:38
  of
• 31:39
  plywood
• 31:39
  that
• 31:39
  I
• 31:39
  painted
• 31:40
  the
• 31:41
  same
• 31:41
  color
• 31:42
  as
• 31:42
  the
• 31:42
  wall.
• 31:42
  And
• 31:43
  I
• 31:43
  made
• 31:43
  it
• 31:43
  inch
• 31:44
  and
• 31:44
  a
• 31:44
  half
• 31:44
  thick.
• 31:44
  And
• 31:45
  then
• 31:45
  I
• 31:45
  stood
• 31:45
  it
• 31:46
  off
• 31:46
  the
• 31:46
  wall
• 31:46
  three
• 31:47
  quarters
• 31:47
  and
• 31:47
  I
• 31:48
  routed
• 31:48
  out
• 31:48
  the
• 31:48
  back
• 31:49
  so
• 31:49
  I
• 31:49
  could
• 31:49
  put
• 31:49
  my
• 31:50
  LED
• 31:50
  type
• 31:51
  lighting
• 31:51
  in
• 31:51
  the
• 31:51
  back
• 31:52
  of
• 31:52
  that
• 31:52
  and
• 31:52
  bounced
• 31:53
  it
• 31:53
  back
• 31:53
  off
• 31:53
  the
• 31:54
  wall
• 31:54
  this
• 31:54
  way.
• 31:55
  So
• 31:55
  I
• 31:55
  got
• 31:55
  this
• 31:56
  loading
• 31:57
  line
• 31:57
  rack
• 31:57
  that
• 31:57
  is
• 31:58
  backlit
• 31:58
  around
• 31:59
  all
• 32:00
  four
• 32:00
  sides
• 32:01
  that's
• 32:01
  backlit,
• 32:02
  like
• 32:02
  a
• 32:02
  backlit
• 32:02
  mirror.
• 32:03
  Very
• 32:04
  cool.
• 32:05
  Money.
• 32:06
  And
• 32:06
  then
• 32:06
  I've
• 32:06
  got
• 32:06
  front
• 32:06
  lighting
• 32:07
  because
• 32:07
  I've
• 32:07
  got
• 32:07
  the,
• 32:08
  I
• 32:08
  did
• 32:08
  a
• 32:08
  bus
• 32:08
  turn
• 32:09
  punch,
• 32:09
  LED
• 32:09
  hanging
• 32:10
  fixture
• 32:10
  there.
• 32:11
  The
• 32:11
  wagon
• 32:11
  wheel
• 32:12
  kind
• 32:12
  of
• 32:12
  looking
• 32:12
  one
• 32:12
  that
• 32:12
  hangs
• 32:13
  down.
• 32:13
  Yeah.
• 32:14
  And
• 32:14
  that's
• 32:15
  hitting
• 32:15
  the
• 32:15
  front
• 32:15
  of
• 32:15
  that.
• 32:16
  And
• 32:16
  it
• 32:16
  just
• 32:16
  turned
• 32:17
  out
• 32:17
  really
• 32:17
  cool
• 32:18
  in
• 32:18
  the
• 32:18
  contemporary.
• 32:18
  Oh,
• 32:19
  my
• 32:19
  go.
• 32:19
  Gosh,
• 32:19
  that's
• 32:20
  very
• 32:20
  cool.
• 32:20
  Turned
• 32:21
  out
• 32:21
  really
• 32:21
  fun.
• 32:21
  But
• 32:22
  to

  We're
• 34:11
  talking
• 34:12
  lighting
• 34:12
  inside
• 34:13
  your
• 34:13
  home.
• 34:14
  Know
• 34:14
  that
• 34:14
  I
• 34:15
  thought
• 34:15
  it
• 34:15
  was
• 34:15
  like
• 34:15
  a
• 34:16
  ha.
• 34:16
  Isn't
• 34:16
  this
• 34:16
  funny?
• 34:17
  Little
• 34:17
  joke
• 34:17
  on
• 34:18
  Wendy.
• 34:18
  Yeah.
• 34:21
  Nice
• 34:21
  disco
• 34:22
  tech.
• 34:22
  Nice
• 34:23
  discotheque.
• 34:24
  Excuse
• 34:24
  me.
• 34:25
  So,
• 34:25
  yeah,
• 34:25
  that
• 34:25
  was
• 34:26
  a
• 34:26
  good
• 34:26
  lesson
• 34:27
  in
• 34:27
  reading
• 34:27
  the
• 34:27
  room
• 34:28
  better.
• 34:28
  Yeah.
• 34:29
  We've
• 34:29
  all
• 34:29
  had
• 34:29
  those
• 34:30
  where
• 34:30
  I'm
• 34:30
  like,
• 34:30
  you
• 34:30
  were
• 34:31
  serious.
• 34:31
  You
• 34:32
  know,
• 34:32
  one
• 34:32
  other
• 34:32
  thing
• 34:32
  I
• 34:33
  always
• 34:33
  do
• 34:33
  and
• 34:33
  it's
• 34:33
  a
• 34:34
  habit
• 34:34
  of
• 34:34
  mine,
• 34:34
  and
• 34:35
  it's
• 34:35
  just
• 34:35
  on
• 34:35
  function,
• 34:36
  I
• 34:36
  usually
• 34:37
  will
• 34:37
  over
• 34:37
  the
• 34:37
  over
• 34:38
  light
• 34:38
  the
• 34:38
  room
• 34:38
  by
• 34:39
  20
• 34:39
  or
• 34:39
  30%,
• 34:40
  you
• 34:40
  know,
• 34:40
  okay,
• 34:40
  they
• 34:41
  need
• 34:41
  to
• 34:41
  be
• 34:41
  here.
• 34:42
  But
• 34:42
  I
• 34:42
  will,
• 34:42
  yeah,
• 34:43
  I
• 34:43
  will
• 34:43
  go
• 34:44
  well
• 34:44
  above
• 34:44
  that.
• 34:45
  So
• 34:45
  if
• 34:46
  somebody
• 34:46
  loses
• 34:46
  an
• 34:47
  earring,
• 34:47
  if
• 34:48
  something
• 34:48
  gets
• 34:48
  dropped,
• 34:49
  if
• 34:49
  you're
• 34:50
  cleaning,
• 34:50
  you
• 34:51
  can
• 34:51
  go,
• 34:51
  bam,
• 34:52
  I
• 34:52
  want
• 34:52
  to
• 34:52
  see
• 34:52
  everything.
• 34:53
  Yeah,
• 34:54
  you
• 34:54
  can
• 34:54
  always
• 34:54
  jack
• 34:55
  it
• 34:55
  up.
• 34:55
  Okay,
• 34:56
  where'd
• 34:56
  that
• 34:56
  go?
• 34:57
  And
• 34:57
  then
• 34:57
  real
• 34:58
  life
• 34:58
  is
• 34:58
  down
• 34:59
  here.
• 34:59
  But
• 34:59
  there's
• 34:59
  a
• 35:00
  ceiling
• 35:00
  above
• 35:00
  it.
• 35:00
  So
• 35:01
  we
• 35:01
  could
• 35:01
  sit
• 35:01
  there
• 35:01
  and
• 35:02
  crank
• 35:02
  it
• 35:02
  up
• 35:02
  for
• 35:02
  those
• 35:02
  instances.
• 35:03
  And
• 35:03
  I
• 35:03
  always
• 35:04
  tell
• 35:04
  people,
• 35:04
  I'm
• 35:04
  like,
• 35:04
  every
• 35:05
  room
• 35:05
  needs
• 35:05
  to
• 35:05
  be
• 35:06
  dimmed
• 35:06
  and
• 35:06
  it's
• 35:06
  designed
• 35:06
  for
• 35:07
  that
• 35:07
  way.
• 35:07
  Don't
• 35:07
  ever
• 35:08
  just
• 35:08
  go
• 35:08
  all
• 35:08
  the
• 35:08
  way
• 35:08
  unless
• 35:09
  you
• 35:09
  have
• 35:09
  a
• 35:09
  specific
• 35:10
  task
• 35:10
  for
• 35:10
  that.
• 35:11
  But
• 35:11
  that's
• 35:11
  not
• 35:11
  what
• 35:12
  this
• 35:12
  is
• 35:12
  meant
• 35:12
  for.
• 35:13
  Agreed.
• 35:13
  Which
• 35:14
  that
• 35:14
  was
• 35:14
  my
• 35:14
  trick
• 35:15
  that
• 35:15
  I
• 35:15
  always
• 35:15
  did.
• 35:16
  And
• 35:16
  I've
• 35:16
  seen
• 35:16
  other
• 35:17
  lighting
• 35:17
  designers
• 35:17
  do
• 35:18
  that
• 35:18
  as
• 35:18
  well.
• 35:18
  But
• 35:18
  it's
• 35:18
  nice
• 35:18
  to
• 35:19
  have
• 35:19
  that
• 35:19
  upper
• 35:19
  ceiling.
• 35:20
  Yeah.
• 35:20
  When
• 35:20
  you
• 35:20
  need
• 35:21
  it.
• 35:21
  It's
• 35:21
  nice
• 35:21
  to
• 35:22
  have
• 35:22
  for
• 35:22
  sure.
• 35:23
  Yeah.
• 35:23
  Yeah.
• 35:24
  Did
• 35:24
  you
• 35:24
  have
• 35:25
  you
• 35:25
  heard
• 35:25
  about,
• 35:25
  like
• 35:26
  how
• 35:26
  men
• 35:26
  and
• 35:26
  women
• 35:27
  experience
• 35:27
  lighting
• 35:28
  differently
• 35:29
  or
• 35:30
  blue
• 35:30
  eyes
• 35:30
  versus
• 35:31
  brown
• 35:31
  eyes?
• 35:31
  Experience
• 35:32
  it
• 35:32
  differently.
• 35:33
  Totally.
• 35:34
  And
• 35:34
  then
• 35:34
  of
• 35:34
  course,
• 35:35
  age
• 35:35
  goes
• 35:35
  with
• 35:35
  that
• 35:36
  as
• 35:36
  well.
• 35:36
  On
• 35:36
  the
• 35:36
  other
• 35:37
  direction,
• 35:37
  too,
• 35:38
  somebody
• 35:38
  that's
• 35:39
  25
• 35:39
  versus
• 35:39
  55.
• 35:40
  Yeah.
• 35:40
  That's
• 35:41
  the
• 35:41
  truth.
• 35:41
  Not
• 35:42
  that
• 35:42
  I
• 35:42
  know
• 35:42
  what
• 35:42
  end
• 35:42
  of
• 35:43
  life.
• 35:44
  No,
• 35:45
  hold
• 35:45
  on.
• 35:45
  Let
• 35:46
  me
• 35:46
  grab
• 35:46
  my
• 35:46
  glasses.
• 35:47
  Yeah.
• 35:47
  So
• 35:47
  my
• 35:48
  husband
• 35:48
  has
• 35:49
  dark
• 35:49
  eyes
• 35:50
  and
• 35:51
  has
• 35:51
  olive
• 35:51
  skin
• 35:52
  and
• 35:52
  dark
• 35:53
  curly
• 35:53
  hair.
• 35:54
  He's
• 35:54
  handsome,
• 35:55
  but.
• 35:55
  And
• 35:55
  I
• 35:56
  am
• 35:56
  very
• 35:56
  blonde
• 35:57
  and
• 35:57
  very
• 35:57
  pale,
• 35:58
  and
• 35:58
  I
• 35:58
  have
• 35:58
  blue
• 35:59
  eyes.
• 35:59
  Every
• 36:00
  morning,
• 36:01
  he
• 36:01
  gets
• 36:01
  up
• 36:02
  at
• 36:02
  5:15
• 36:03
  and
• 36:04
  comes
• 36:04
  down
• 36:04
  here
• 36:04
  in
• 36:05
  the
• 36:05
  kitchen.
• 36:05
  I'm
• 36:05
  looking
• 36:05
  at
• 36:06
  my
• 36:06
  kitchen,
• 36:06
  and
• 36:06
  he
• 36:07
  turns
• 36:07
  on
• 36:07
  every
• 36:08
  blessed
• 36:09
  light,
• 36:10
  and
• 36:10
  I
• 36:10
  always
• 36:10
  come
• 36:11
  down
• 36:11
  to
• 36:11
  give
• 36:11
  him
• 36:11
  a
• 36:12
  hug,
• 36:12
  and
• 36:12
  we
• 36:12
  pray
• 36:13
  together
• 36:13
  and
• 36:13
  I
• 36:13
  say
• 36:13
  goodbye,
• 36:14
  and
• 36:14
  I
• 36:14
  send
• 36:14
  him
• 36:15
  off
• 36:15
  to
• 36:15
  work
• 36:15
  and
• 36:15
  I
• 36:15
  have
• 36:16
  my
• 36:16
  coffee,
• 36:16
  and
• 36:17
  every
• 36:17
  time
• 36:17
  I
• 36:17
  go
• 36:18
  behind
• 36:18
  him
• 36:19
  and
• 36:19
  turn
• 36:19
  all
• 36:20
  like,
• 36:20
  what?
• 36:21
  And
• 36:21
  he's
• 36:22
  let
• 36:22
  there
• 36:22
  be
• 36:22
  light.
• 36:23
  Like,
• 36:23
  no,
• 36:24
  Mark,
• 36:24
  you're
• 36:24
  like,
• 36:24
  this
• 36:25
  is
• 36:25
  too
• 36:25
  much
• 36:25
  for
• 36:26
  this
• 36:26
  time
• 36:26
  of
• 36:26
  the
• 36:26
  day.
• 36:27
  But
• 36:28
  it's
• 36:28
  the
• 36:28
  man.
• 36:29
  I'm
• 36:29
  guilty.
• 36:30
  And
• 36:30
  the
• 36:30
  light
• 36:31
  dark
• 36:31
  difference.
• 36:32
  And
• 36:32
  more
• 36:32
  and
• 36:32
  more
• 36:33
  that's
• 36:33
  being
• 36:33
  written
• 36:33
  about.
• 36:34
  But
• 36:34
  I
• 36:34
  appreciate
• 36:35
  it
• 36:35
  because
• 36:35
  he
• 36:35
  used
• 36:35
  to
• 36:36
  think
• 36:36
  I
• 36:36
  was
• 36:36
  just
• 36:36
  being
• 36:36
  a
• 36:37
  pill,
• 36:37
  but
• 36:37
  now,
• 36:38
  from
• 36:38
  all
• 36:38
  the
• 36:39
  little
• 36:39
  Instagram
• 36:39
  things
• 36:40
  I've
• 36:40
  sent
• 36:40
  him,
• 36:40
  scientific
• 36:41
  facts
• 36:41
  out
• 36:42
  there.
• 36:42
  Now,
• 36:42
  to
• 36:42
  support
• 36:42
  your
• 36:43
  argument,
• 36:43
  I'm
• 36:44
  the
• 36:44
  same
• 36:44
  guy.
• 36:44
  I've
• 36:44
  got.
• 36:45
  I've
• 36:45
  got
• 36:45
  a
• 36:45
  system
• 36:45
  in
• 36:46
  there.
• 36:46
  Touch
• 36:46
  screen
• 36:46
  on
• 36:47
  that
• 36:47
  when
• 36:47
  I
• 36:47
  come
• 36:47
  in,
• 36:47
  and
• 36:47
  if
• 36:48
  I
• 36:48
  hit
• 36:48
  a
• 36:48
  diagonal,
• 36:49
  it
• 36:49
  cranks
• 36:49
  the
• 36:49
  kitchen
• 36:50
  lights
• 36:50
  up
• 36:50
  in
• 36:50
  the
• 36:50
  morning.
• 36:51
  Yeah,
• 36:51
  same
• 36:52
  kind
• 36:52
  of
• 36:52
  thing.
• 36:52
  I
• 36:52
  walk
• 36:53
  down
• 36:53
  there
• 36:53
  and
• 36:53
  I'm,
• 36:53
  like,
• 36:54
  half
• 36:54
  awake,
• 36:54
  just
• 36:54
  going
• 36:55
  for
• 36:55
  the
• 36:55
  coffee
• 36:55
  cup,
• 36:56
  and
• 36:56
  I
• 36:56
  go
• 36:56
  swipe
• 36:57
  up,
• 36:57
  and
• 36:58
  it's,
• 36:58
  boom,
• 36:58
  we're
• 36:58
  in
• 36:59
  cleaning
• 36:59
  mode.
• 37:00
  I'm
• 37:00
  doing
• 37:00
  what
• 37:00
  I
• 37:00
  tell
• 37:00
  my
• 37:01
  clients
• 37:01
  not
• 37:01
  to
• 37:01
  do,
• 37:02
  but
• 37:02
  I'm
• 37:02
  not
• 37:02
  going
• 37:02
  to
• 37:03
  sit
• 37:03
  there
• 37:03
  and
• 37:04
  go,
• 37:04
  kitchen
• 37:05
  ceiling.
• 37:05
  I
• 37:05
  just
• 37:06
  know
• 37:06
  if
• 37:06
  I
• 37:06
  do
• 37:06
  that,
• 37:06
  it'll
• 37:07
  kick
• 37:07
  the
• 37:07
  kitchen
• 37:07
  lights
• 37:07
  on.
• 37:08
  It's
• 37:08
  the
• 37:08
  one
• 37:08
  program
• 37:09
  gesture
• 37:09
  I
• 37:09
  have
• 37:09
  in
• 37:09
  it,
• 37:10
  and
• 37:10
  I
• 37:10
  just.
• 37:10
  It
• 37:10
  comes
• 37:11
  on,
• 37:11
  and
• 37:11
  I
• 37:12
  don't
• 37:12
  care
• 37:12
  who's
• 37:12
  over
• 37:12
  at
• 37:12
  their
• 37:12
  house.
• 37:13
  They're
• 37:13
  coming.
• 37:13
  Wow,
• 37:13
  Eric,
• 37:14
  that's
• 37:14
  a
• 37:14
  little
• 37:14
  harsh.
• 37:15
  Yeah.
• 37:15
  Yeah,
• 37:16
  it
• 37:16
  worked.
• 37:16
  It
• 37:17
  got
• 37:17
  me
• 37:17
  to
• 37:17
  the
• 37:17
  coffee
• 37:17
  maker.
• 37:18
  That's
• 37:18
  the
• 37:18
  thing
• 37:19
  I
• 37:19
  think
• 37:19
  Mark
• 37:19
  needs.
• 37:20
  Damn,
• 37:20
  I'm
• 37:21
  waking
• 37:21
  up.
• 37:21
  And
• 37:22
  I'm
• 37:22
  like,
• 37:22
  let
• 37:23
  me
• 37:23
  just
• 37:23
  get
• 37:23
  a
• 37:23
  minute.
• 37:24
  Yeah,
• 37:24
  you're
• 37:24
  like,
• 37:24
  we're
• 37:25
  starting
• 37:25
  a
• 37:25
  candlelight
• 37:26
  and
• 37:26
  working
• 37:26
  from
• 37:26
  here,
• 37:27
  and
• 37:27
  I'm
• 37:27
  turning
• 37:27
  the
• 37:27
  stage
• 37:28
  lights
• 37:28
  on.
• 37:28
  I'm
• 37:29
  like,
• 37:29
  here
• 37:29
  in
• 37:29
  the
• 37:29
  middle
• 37:29
  of
• 37:29
  a
• 37:29
  movie,
• 37:30
  and
• 37:30
  you
• 37:30
  hear
• 37:30
  that
• 37:30
  chunky
• 37:31
  chunk
• 37:31
  like
• 37:31
  a
• 37:32
  gymnasium
• 37:32
  light.
• 37:32
  I'm
• 37:33
  that
• 37:33
  guy
• 37:33
  going,
• 37:34
  let
• 37:34
  there
• 37:34
  be
• 37:34
  light.
• 37:35
  So,
• 37:36
  yeah.
• 37:36
  So
• 37:36
  note
• 37:37
  to
• 37:37
  all
• 37:37
  designers.
• 37:38
  Think
• 37:38
  about
• 37:39
  eye
• 37:39
  color
• 37:40
  and
• 37:40
  morning
• 37:41
  routines
• 37:41
  when
• 37:42
  you're
• 37:42
  lighting
• 37:42
  the
• 37:42
  kitchen.
• 37:43
  And
• 37:43
  that's
• 37:43
  the
• 37:44
  thing.
• 37:44
  And
• 37:44
  here's
• 37:44
  the
• 37:45
  cool
• 37:45
  thing,
• 37:45
  guys,
• 37:45
  is
• 37:46
  for
• 37:46
  any
• 37:46
  of
• 37:47
  our
• 37:47
  Homeowners
• 37:47
  out
• 37:47
  there
• 37:48
  or
• 37:48
  even
• 37:48
  contractors
• 37:49
  that
• 37:49
  DIY
• 37:50
  that
• 37:50
  stuff.
• 37:50
  And
• 37:50
  I
• 37:50
  mean
• 37:51
  it's
• 37:51
  DIY
• 37:51
  because
• 37:51
  you're
• 37:52
  not
• 37:52
  a
• 37:52
  lighting
• 37:52
  designer.
• 37:53
  It
• 37:53
  still
• 37:53
  is.
• 37:54
  But
• 37:54
  I
• 37:54
  just
• 37:55
  recommend
• 37:56
  to
• 37:56
  run
• 37:56
  down
• 37:57
  to
• 37:57
  your
• 37:57
  local
• 37:58
  independent
• 37:59
  lighting
• 37:59
  store,
• 38:00
  make
• 38:00
  your
• 38:00
  new
• 38:00
  best
• 38:00
  friend
• 38:01
  and
• 38:01
  spend
• 38:02
  the
• 38:02
  time
• 38:02
  and
• 38:02
  if
• 38:03
  you
• 38:03
  have
• 38:03
  to
• 38:03
  pay
• 38:04
  them
• 38:04
  couple
• 38:04
  grand
• 38:05
  to
• 38:05
  come
• 38:05
  out
• 38:05
  and
• 38:06
  do
• 38:06
  it,
• 38:06
  you
• 38:06
  will
• 38:07
  get
• 38:07
  that
• 38:07
  tenfold
• 38:08
  in
• 38:08
  the
• 38:08
  livability
• 38:09
  of
• 38:10
  your
• 38:10
  home.
• 38:10
  Agreed.
• 38:11
  I
• 38:11
  appreciate
• 38:11
  that
• 38:12
  you
• 38:12
  said
• 38:12
  that
• 38:12
  too
• 38:12
  about
• 38:13
  your
• 38:13
  local
• 38:14
  retailer.
• 38:15
  Because
• 38:15
  just
• 38:16
  watching
• 38:16
  Carrie
• 38:17
  and
• 38:17
  her
• 38:17
  family
• 38:18
  run
• 38:18
  that
• 38:18
  store
• 38:19
  and
• 38:20
  trying
• 38:21
  to
• 38:21
  stay
• 38:22
  alive
• 38:22
  in
• 38:23
  the
• 38:23
  age
• 38:23
  of
• 38:23
  the
• 38:23
  Internet
• 38:24
  and
• 38:24
  online
• 38:25
  people,
• 38:25
  people
• 38:26
  shop
• 38:26
  them
• 38:26
  all
• 38:26
  the
• 38:27
  time.
• 38:27
  And
• 38:27
  by
• 38:27
  that
• 38:28
  I
• 38:28
  mean
• 38:28
  they're
• 38:29
  reaching.
• 38:29
  Jump
• 38:29
  on
• 38:29
  Amazon
• 38:30
  and
• 38:30
  go
• 38:31
  $400
• 38:31
  and
• 38:31
  I
• 38:31
  can
• 38:32
  buy
• 38:32
  it
• 38:32
  for
• 38:32
  22.
• 38:33
  Yeah.
• 38:33
  Yes,
• 38:34
  maybe
• 38:34
  you
• 38:34
  can.
• 38:35
  But
• 38:35
  it
• 38:35
  will
• 38:35
  come
• 38:35
  in
• 38:36
  hundred
• 38:36
  thousand
• 38:37
  pieces
• 38:38
  that
• 38:38
  you
• 38:38
  have
• 38:38
  to
• 38:38
  figure
• 38:39
  out
• 38:39
  how
• 38:39
  to
• 38:39
  put
• 38:39
  together
• 38:39
  correctly.
• 38:40
  And
• 38:40
  if
• 38:40
  anything
• 38:41
  is
• 38:41
  wrong
• 38:41
  with
• 38:41
  it,
• 38:42
  there
• 38:42
  will
• 38:42
  be
• 38:42
  no
• 38:42
  one
• 38:42
  for
• 38:43
  you
• 38:43
  to
• 38:43
  call
• 38:43
  and
• 38:44
  there
• 38:44
  will
• 38:44
  be
• 38:44
  no
• 38:44
  way
• 38:45
  for
• 38:45
  you
• 38:45
  to
• 38:45
  figure
• 38:45
  it
• 38:45
  out
• 38:46
  or
• 38:46
  troubleshoot.
• 38:46
  But
• 38:47
  if
• 38:47
  you
• 38:47
  go
• 38:47
  see
• 38:47
  Carrie
• 38:48
  or
• 38:49
  another
• 38:49
  family
• 38:50
  owned
• 38:50
  retailer
• 38:51
  who
• 38:51
  really
• 38:52
  understands
• 38:52
  lighting
• 38:53
  in
• 38:53
  whatever
• 38:54
  area
• 38:54
  you
• 38:54
  live
• 38:55
  in,
• 38:55
  you're
• 38:56
  giving
• 38:57
  jobs
• 38:57
  to
• 38:57
  the
• 38:57
  people
• 38:57
  in
• 38:58
  that
• 38:58
  area.
• 38:58
  You
• 38:59
  can't
• 38:59
  work
• 38:59
  at
• 38:59
  a
• 39:00
  lighting
• 39:00
  store
• 39:00
  and
• 39:01
  not
• 39:01
  understand
• 39:02
  lighting.
• 39:03
  So
• 39:03
  it's
• 39:03
  not
• 39:04
  like
• 39:04
  flipping
• 39:05
  a
• 39:05
  hamburger.
• 39:06
  You're
• 39:06
  not
• 39:06
  talking
• 39:07
  about
• 39:07
  a
• 39:07
  minimum
• 39:07
  wage
• 39:08
  job.
• 39:08
  You're
• 39:08
  talking
• 39:09
  about
• 39:09
  lighting
• 39:10
  professionals
• 39:11
  who
• 39:11
  have
• 39:12
  devoted
• 39:12
  years
• 39:13
  to
• 39:13
  the
• 39:13
  craft
• 39:14
  to
• 39:14
  understand
• 39:15
  it,
• 39:15
  to
• 39:15
  know
• 39:15
  the
• 39:16
  lines,
• 39:16
  to
• 39:16
  understand
• 39:17
  the
• 39:17
  best
• 39:18
  things
• 39:18
  for
• 39:18
  the
• 39:18
  best
• 39:19
  places
• 39:19
  and
• 39:19
  the
• 39:20
  best
• 39:20
  effect
• 39:20
  and
• 39:20
  the
• 39:20
  right
• 39:21
  switches.
• 39:21
  This
• 39:22
  is
• 39:22
  not
• 39:23
  child's
• 39:23
  play.
• 39:23
  Anybody
• 39:24
  can
• 39:24
  do
• 39:24
  it.
• 39:25
  And
• 39:25
  I
• 39:26
  think
• 39:26
  it's
• 39:27
  heart.
• 39:27
  It's
• 39:27
  heartbreaking
• 39:28
  for
• 39:28
  me
• 39:29
  to
• 39:30
  see
• 39:30
  how
• 39:31
  our
• 39:32
  opportunities
• 39:33
  as
• 39:33
  people
• 39:34
  living
• 39:34
  in
• 39:34
  homes
• 39:35
  today,
• 39:35
  if
• 39:35
  these
• 39:36
  stores
• 39:36
  are
• 39:37
  not
• 39:37
  supported
• 39:38
  and
• 39:38
  aren't
• 39:38
  taken
• 39:39
  care
• 39:39
  of,
• 39:39
  experience
• 39:40
  in
• 39:40
  our
• 39:41
  homes
• 39:41
  will
• 39:42
  be
• 39:42
  much
• 39:43
  lesser
• 39:43
  experience
• 39:44
  than
• 39:45
  if
• 39:45
  we
• 39:45
  support
• 39:46
  these
• 39:46
  incredible
• 39:47
  craftspeople
• 39:48
  and
• 39:48
  artists
• 39:49
  and
• 39:49
  frankly
• 39:50
  mathematicians
• 39:51
  who
• 39:51
  live
• 39:52
  in
• 39:52
  our
• 39:52
  communities
• 39:52
  and
• 39:53
  have
• 39:53
  these
• 39:53
  beautiful
• 39:53
  stores
• 39:54
  in
• 39:54
  this
• 39:54
  incredible
• 39:55
  service.
• 39:56
  And
• 39:56
  it's
• 39:56
  a
• 39:57
  difficult
• 39:57
  thing
• 39:57
  to
• 39:58
  try
• 39:58
  to
• 39:58
  educate
• 39:59
  someone
• 39:59
  about.
• 40:00
  No,
• 40:00
  that
• 40:00
  lighting
• 40:01
  that
• 40:01
  you're
• 40:01
  getting
• 40:01
  from
• 40:01
  Lowe's
• 40:02
  is
• 40:02
  going
• 40:02
  to
• 40:03
  fail.
• 40:03
  The
• 40:03
  lighting
• 40:04
  that
• 40:04
  you're
• 40:04
  going
• 40:04
  to
• 40:04
  get,
• 40:04
  the
• 40:05
  Nora
• 40:05
  from
• 40:05
  Carrie
• 40:06
  and
• 40:06
  Philip
• 40:06
  lighting
• 40:07
  at
• 40:07
  home
• 40:07
  is
• 40:07
  not.
• 40:07
  And
• 40:08
  if
• 40:08
  it
• 40:08
  does,
• 40:08
  she
• 40:09
  call
• 40:09
  and
• 40:09
  get
• 40:10
  you
• 40:10
  a
• 40:10
  replacement
• 40:11
  because
• 40:11
  she
• 40:11
  has
• 40:12
  a
• 40:12
  relationship
• 40:12
  with
• 40:12
  the
• 40:13
  manufacturer.
• 40:14
  And
• 40:14
  it's
• 40:14
  just,
• 40:15
  I
• 40:15
  guess
• 40:15
  I'm
• 40:16
  passionate
• 40:16
  about
• 40:16
  it,
• 40:16
  but
• 40:17
  like
• 40:17
  I
• 40:17
  am
• 40:17
  too.
• 40:17
  I'm
• 40:17
  just
• 40:18
  kidding
• 40:18
  when
• 40:18
  I
• 40:18
  said
• 40:19
  we've
• 40:19
  won
• 40:19
  all
• 40:20
  these
• 40:20
  great
• 40:20
  design
• 40:20
  awards.
• 40:21
  But
• 40:21
  honestly,
• 40:22
  Carrie
• 40:22
  was
• 40:23
  on
• 40:23
  all
• 40:23
  of
• 40:23
  those
• 40:24
  jobs.
• 40:24
  That
• 40:25
  is
• 40:25
  not
• 40:25
  a
• 40:25
  coincidence.
• 40:27
  And
• 40:27
  These
• 40:27
  lighting
• 40:28
  designers
• 40:28
  are
• 40:29
  the
• 40:29
  people
• 40:29
  that
• 40:29
  show
• 40:30
  the
• 40:30
  electricians
• 40:31
  how
• 40:31
  to
• 40:31
  light
• 40:31
  the
• 40:32
  room.
• 40:32
  The
• 40:32
  electricians
• 40:33
  are
• 40:35
  no
• 40:35
  shade
• 40:35
  towards
• 40:36
  you
• 40:36
  electricians
• 40:37
  out
• 40:37
  there.
• 40:37
  You're
• 40:38
  the
• 40:38
  scientists
• 40:38
  that
• 40:39
  make
• 40:39
  sure
• 40:39
  the
• 40:39
  power
• 40:39
  goes
• 40:39
  to
• 40:40
  the
• 40:40
  right
• 40:40
  place
• 40:40
  and
• 40:40
  it
• 40:40
  meets
• 40:41
  code.
• 40:41
  That's
• 40:42
  great.
• 40:42
  But
• 40:43
  that's
• 40:43
  awesome.
• 40:43
  You
• 40:43
  are
• 40:44
  an
• 40:44
  integral
• 40:44
  part
• 40:45
  of
• 40:45
  this
• 40:45
  process.
• 40:46
  The
• 40:46
  lighting
• 40:46
  designer
• 40:47
  is
• 40:47
  as
• 40:47
  well.
• 40:48
  Yeah.
• 40:48
  That
• 40:48
  yahoo
• 40:49
  who
• 40:49
  put
• 40:49
  28
• 40:50
  cans
• 40:50
  in
• 40:50
  a
• 40:50
  recess
• 40:51
  in
• 40:51
  a
• 40:51
  family
• 40:51
  room
• 40:52
  is
• 40:52
  not
• 40:53
  a
• 40:53
  lighting
• 40:53
  design.
• 40:54
  Exactly.
• 40:55
  And
• 40:55
  that's.
• 40:56
  We
• 40:56
  have
• 40:56
  some
• 40:57
  of
• 40:57
  the
• 40:57
  neatest
• 40:57
  relationships
• 40:58
  now
• 40:59
  because
• 40:59
  Carrie
• 41:00
  has
• 41:00
  two
• 41:00
  things.
• 41:00
  She's
• 41:01
  a
• 41:01
  woman
• 41:02
  and
• 41:02
  she's
• 41:03
  a
• 41:03
  lighting
• 41:03
  designer
• 41:04
  and
• 41:04
  an
• 41:04
  electrician.
• 41:05
  A
• 41:05
  standard
• 41:06
  old
• 41:06
  school
• 41:07
  electrician
• 41:08
  doesn't
• 41:08
  care
• 41:08
  about
• 41:08
  a
• 41:08
  lighting
• 41:09
  designer
• 41:09
  and
• 41:09
  sure
• 41:09
  as
• 41:10
  heck
• 41:10
  doesn't
• 41:10
  care
• 41:10
  about
• 41:10
  a
• 41:11
  woman.
• 41:11
  So
• 41:11
  it's
• 41:12
  interesting
• 41:12
  to
• 41:12
  have
• 41:12
  Carrie
• 41:13
  come
• 41:13
  in
• 41:13
  there
• 41:13
  and
• 41:14
  say
• 41:14
  what
• 41:14
  she
• 41:14
  says.
• 41:15
  And
• 41:15
  then
• 41:15
  later
• 41:15
  the
• 41:16
  electrician
• 41:16
  will
• 41:16
  be
• 41:16
  on
• 41:17
  site
• 41:17
  with
• 41:17
  me
• 41:17
  for
• 41:17
  a
• 41:17
  job
• 41:18
  walk.
• 41:18
  And
• 41:19
  usually
• 41:19
  it's
• 41:19
  a.
• 41:20
  He
• 41:20
  will
• 41:20
  say,
• 41:21
  I
• 41:21
  don't
• 41:21
  know.
• 41:22
  And
• 41:22
  I
• 41:22
  look
• 41:22
  at
• 41:22
  the
• 41:23
  contractor
• 41:23
  and
• 41:23
  I
• 41:24
  say,
• 41:25
  if
• 41:25
  Carrie's
• 41:26
  plan
• 41:26
  is
• 41:26
  not
• 41:26
  executed
• 41:27
  in
• 41:27
  this
• 41:28
  home
• 41:28
  exactly
• 41:29
  as
• 41:29
  she
• 41:29
  intended,
• 41:30
  we'll
• 41:30
  have
• 41:31
  a
• 41:31
  problem.
• 41:32
  Yep.
• 41:33
  And
• 41:33
  then
• 41:33
  I
• 41:33
  leave.
• 41:34
  And
• 41:34
  then
• 41:34
  it's
• 41:34
  amazing
• 41:35
  because
• 41:35
  that
• 41:36
  electrician
• 41:36
  is
• 41:36
  so
• 41:36
  much
• 41:37
  nicer
• 41:37
  when
• 41:37
  he
• 41:37
  comes
• 41:37
  back
• 41:38
  because
• 41:38
  he
• 41:38
  did
• 41:39
  it
• 41:39
  the
• 41:39
  way
• 41:39
  Carrie
• 41:39
  asked.
• 41:40
  Gorgeous.
• 41:40
  And
• 41:41
  he
• 41:41
  learned
• 41:41
  a
• 41:41
  lot.
• 41:42
  And
• 41:42
  then
• 41:42
  he
• 41:42
  starts
• 41:43
  using
• 41:43
  all
• 41:43
  the
• 41:43
  vocabulary
• 41:44
  that
• 41:44
  she
• 41:45
  uses
• 41:45
  and
• 41:45
  starts
• 41:46
  to
• 41:46
  have
• 41:46
  her
• 41:47
  technique.
• 41:47
  And
• 41:48
  that's
• 41:48
  the
• 41:48
  one
• 41:48
  fun
• 41:48
  thing
• 41:49
  too,
• 41:49
  is
• 41:49
  that
• 41:49
  when
• 41:49
  I
• 41:50
  look
• 41:50
  at
• 41:50
  this
• 41:50
  is
• 41:51
  one.
• 41:51
  One
• 41:51
  thing.
• 41:51
  It's
• 41:52
  refreshing.
• 41:52
  Up
• 41:52
  here
• 41:53
  in
• 41:53
  the
• 41:53
  Pacific
• 41:53
  Northwest,
• 41:54
  I'm
• 41:54
  seeing
• 41:55
  more
• 41:55
  and
• 41:55
  more
• 41:55
  female
• 41:56
  electricians
• 41:56
  on
• 41:56
  the
• 41:56
  job
• 41:57
  site.
• 41:57
  That's
• 41:57
  awesome.
• 41:58
  It
• 41:58
  is
• 41:58
  awesome.
• 41:59
  And
• 41:59
  I
• 41:59
  think
• 42:00
  some
• 42:00
  of
• 42:00
  that
• 42:00
  is
• 42:00
  because
• 42:01
  we
• 42:01
  have
• 42:02
  such
• 42:02
  heavy
• 42:03
  electrical
• 42:03
  places
• 42:03
  up
• 42:03
  here
• 42:04
  because
• 42:04
  we
• 42:04
  have
• 42:04
  like
• 42:05
  in
• 42:05
  the
• 42:05
  Portland
• 42:05
  metro
• 42:06
  area
• 42:06
  where
• 42:06
  there's
• 42:07
  thousands
• 42:07
  of
• 42:07
  electricians
• 42:08
  that
• 42:08
  work
• 42:08
  for
• 42:08
  Intel.
• 42:09
  Yeah.
• 42:09
  And
• 42:10
  there's
• 42:10
  on
• 42:10
  the
• 42:11
  chip
• 42:11
  manufacturing.
• 42:11
  They're
• 42:12
  always
• 42:12
  tweaking
• 42:12
  stuff
• 42:12
  around.
• 42:13
  And
• 42:13
  I
• 42:14
  know
• 42:14
  of
• 42:14
  a
• 42:14
  lot
• 42:14
  of
• 42:14
  female
• 42:15
  electricians
• 42:15
  that
• 42:15
  worked
• 42:16
  out
• 42:16
  there
• 42:16
  at
• 42:16
  some
• 42:17
  point.
• 42:17
  And
• 42:17
  then
• 42:17
  at
• 42:17
  some
• 42:18
  point
• 42:18
  they're
• 42:18
  like,
• 42:18
  oh,
• 42:18
  I'm
• 42:19
  going
• 42:19
  to
• 42:19
  go
• 42:19
  into
• 42:19
  remodeling
• 42:20
  or
• 42:20
  whatever.
• 42:20
  And
• 42:20
  they
• 42:20
  go
• 42:20
  off
• 42:21
  and
• 42:21
  do
• 42:21
  their
• 42:21
  own
• 42:21
  thing.
• 42:21
  But
• 42:22
  it's
• 42:22
  refreshing
• 42:23
  to
• 42:23
  see
• 42:23
  that.
• 42:24
  And
• 42:24
  it's
• 42:24
  really
• 42:25
  changing
• 42:25
  the
• 42:25
  minds
• 42:26
  of
• 42:26
  job
• 42:26
  sites
• 42:27
  like
• 42:27
  that
• 42:27
  as
• 42:27
  well.
• 42:28
  So.
• 42:28
  Which
• 42:28
  is
• 42:29
  super
• 42:29
  fun.
• 42:29
  And
• 42:29
  the
• 42:30
  fun.
• 42:30
  The
• 42:30
  collaboration.
• 42:31
  That's
• 42:32
  what
• 42:32
  I
• 42:32
  mean.
• 42:32
  I
• 42:32
  don't
• 42:32
  care
• 42:33
  if
• 42:33
  it's
• 42:33
  a
• 42:33
  tile
• 42:33
  installer.
• 42:34
  Exactly.
• 42:35
  The
• 42:35
  framer,
• 42:36
  whoever
• 42:36
  it
• 42:36
  is.
• 42:37
  When
• 42:37
  I
• 42:37
  hear
• 42:37
  I've
• 42:38
  been
• 42:38
  doing
• 42:38
  it
• 42:38
  this
• 42:38
  way
• 42:39
  for
• 42:39
  30
• 42:39
  years
• 42:40
  and
• 42:40
  then
• 42:40
  I
• 42:41
  start
• 42:41
  back
• 42:41
  with
• 42:41
  my
• 42:41
  fighting
• 42:42
  words
• 42:42
  and
• 42:42
  go,
• 42:43
  what's
• 42:43
  it
• 42:43
  feel
• 42:43
  like
• 42:43
  doing
• 42:44
  it
• 42:44
  wrong
• 42:44
  for
• 42:44
  30
• 42:44
  years?
• 42:45
  They
• 42:45
  don't
• 42:45
  really
• 42:46
  like
• 42:46
  my
• 42:46
  answer.
• 42:46
  Just
• 42:47
  kind
• 42:47
  of
• 42:47
  smile
• 42:47
  and
• 42:47
  nod
• 42:48
  and
• 42:48
  think,
• 42:48
  this
• 42:49
  might
• 42:49
  not
• 42:49
  be
• 42:49
  a
• 42:49
  good
• 42:50
  fit.
• 42:50
  But
• 42:50
  I
• 42:51
  get
• 42:51
  back,
• 42:51
  sometimes,
• 42:52
  what's
• 42:52
  it
• 42:52
  like
• 42:53
  doing
• 42:53
  it
• 42:53
  wrong
• 42:53
  for
• 42:53
  30
• 42:54
  years?
• 42:54
  I'd
• 42:54
  feel
• 42:54
  horrible
• 42:55
  about
• 42:55
  it.
• 42:55
  Usually
• 42:55
  not
• 42:56
  that
• 42:56
  abrasive
• 42:57
  when
• 42:57
  you.
• 42:57
  I
• 42:58
  just
• 42:58
  call
• 42:58
  this
• 42:58
  paid
• 42:59
  sometimes.
• 42:59
  That's
• 43:00
  cool.
• 43:00
  Good
• 43:01
  for
• 43:01
  you.
• 43:01
  You
• 43:02
  got
• 43:02
  to.
• 43:02
  We're
• 43:02
  running
• 43:03
  out
• 43:03
  of
• 43:03
  time
• 43:03
  here.
• 43:04
  There's
• 43:04
  so
• 43:05
  much
• 43:05
  we
• 43:05
  can
• 43:05
  talk
• 43:05
  about
• 43:06
  lighting,
• 43:06
  but
• 43:07
  I
• 43:07
  think
• 43:07
  just
• 43:07
  for
• 43:08
  people
• 43:08
  to
• 43:08
  think,
• 43:09
  my
• 43:09
  takeaways
• 43:10
  on
• 43:10
  lighting
• 43:10
  is
• 43:11
  hire
• 43:11
  the
• 43:12
  professional
• 43:13
  designer
• 43:13
  to
• 43:13
  help
• 43:14
  you
• 43:14
  with
• 43:14
  that.
• 43:14
  Make
• 43:15
  sure
• 43:15
  anything
• 43:16
  you.
• 43:16
  Everything
• 43:16
  you
• 43:16
  can
• 43:17
  dim.
• 43:17
  Give
• 43:18
  yourself
• 43:18
  the
• 43:18
  most
• 43:18
  control
• 43:19
  about
• 43:19
  it.
• 43:19
  Agreed.
• 43:20
  And
• 43:21
  what
• 43:21
  you
• 43:21
  pay
• 43:22
  for
• 43:22
  fixtures
• 43:22
  is
• 43:22
  like
• 43:23
  your
• 43:23
  dishwasher.
• 43:23
  The
• 43:24
  better
• 43:24
  stuff
• 43:24
  costs
• 43:25
  more
• 43:25
  money.
• 43:25
  And
• 43:25
  the
• 43:26
  reason
• 43:26
  why.
• 43:26
  Yes.
• 43:27
  Cry
• 43:27
  once.
• 43:28
  Yes.
• 43:29
  Rather
• 43:30
  than
• 43:30
  three
• 43:30
  times
• 43:30
  for
• 43:31
  your
• 43:31
  vanity
• 43:31
  light
• 43:31
  bulbs.
• 43:32
  Yeah,
• 43:32
  exactly.
• 43:33
  Exactly.
• 43:35
  The
• 43:35
  stuff
• 43:35
  you
• 43:35
  learn.
• 43:36
  The
• 43:36
  stuff
• 43:36
  you
• 43:37
  learn.
• 43:37
  And.
• 43:37
  Yes.
• 43:38
  And
• 43:38
  the
• 43:38
  reason
• 43:38
  why
• 43:38
  that
• 43:39
  bugs
• 43:39
  me
• 43:39
  is
• 43:39
  one
• 43:40
  over.
• 43:40
  My
• 43:40
  vanity
• 43:41
  is
• 43:41
  out
• 43:41
  this
• 43:41
  morning,
• 43:42
  and.
• 43:42
  I'm
• 43:42
  like,
• 43:42
  hey,
• 43:43
  it's
• 43:43
  a
• 43:43
  fresh
• 43:44
  wound.
• 43:44
  It
• 43:45
  is.
• 43:45
  It
• 43:45
  is
• 43:45
  a
• 43:45
  fresh
• 43:46
  wound.
• 43:47
  It
• 43:47
  just
• 43:47
  is.
• 43:48
  Wendy,
• 43:48
  how
• 43:48
