- 2:47Speaker 5: that we had to double back with not only one
- 2:50Speaker 5: but two. One you definitely do know the other one
- 2:52Speaker 5: you probably don't know, but something naint Colos Miller.
- 2:56Speaker 3: You forgot the bar part. If you got the banar part.
- 3:00Speaker 5: Carlos Miller man the star one of the funniest dudes
- 3:03Speaker 5: on earth. Were Actually we was just at this spot
- 3:06Speaker 5: yesterday and we were saying, like, Yo, this dude's improv
- 3:09Speaker 5: skills is crazy level.
- 3:11Speaker 3: It's genius level.
- 3:12Speaker 5: Yeah, talented, talented, extremely talented. Dude needs no introduction. I
- 3:16Speaker 5: know you've seen it on a while and out you

- 3:27Speaker 5: And who you might not know is Chad o Break
- 3:33Speaker 5: Chad Chazz Chads to bro So Chad. Chad is one
- 3:37Speaker 5: of the business minds behind the whole operation of eighty
- 3:40Speaker 5: five South, and Chad reached out to me in a
- 3:42Speaker 5: d M after we did the R and B only episode.
- 3:47Speaker 5: He hit me like, yo, bro, everything he's talking about,
- 3:50Speaker 5: I understand, I'm going through this, and we linked up,
- 3:54Speaker 5: we spoke, and ever since then he's just been like
- 3:57Speaker 5: one of the best resources that we've had. Super super
- 4:01Speaker 5: smart dude, super knowledgeable, very on point and a little
- 4:07Speaker 5: stand offish if you don't know, yeah, yeah, but once
- 4:11Speaker 5: you get to know, man, one of the best dudes.
- 4:13Speaker 3: So on the second we landed in Atlanta, then we landed
- 4:15Speaker 3: at like nine o'clock shot the episode, Chat came over
- 4:18Speaker 3: like eleven thirty and just kicked it with us like
- 4:20Speaker 3: we never met this dude from anywhere, and we're just like, yo, bro,
- 4:24Speaker 3: I could take it. Y'all got something here that could
- 4:26Speaker 3: go to the next level. I never forget what he
- 4:28Speaker 3: told me. He's like, Yo, in a year from now,
- 4:30Speaker 3: I can't wait to seehere y'all gonna be. And I
- 4:32Speaker 3: was like, Yo, damn, this dude is read our whole life.
- 4:35Speaker 4: Just met us. This dude's ill.
- 4:37Speaker 5: Yeah, man, So shout out, shout out to Chad, shout
- 4:39Speaker 5: out to Carlos. Is gonna be a legendary episode. So
- 4:41Speaker 5: first and foremost, gentlemen, thank you for joining us.
- 4:43Speaker 4: Appreciate it.
- 4:43Speaker 5: Oh thanks for having us man. Yeah yeah, so let's
- 4:47Speaker 5: let's get into it all right. So eighty five South, right,
- 4:51Speaker 5: we got three different talented people coming together, but we
- 4:55Speaker 5: when we come to eighty five South, it's like twenty
- 4:58Speaker 5: five people there. Like it's like for even you know,
- 5:00Speaker 5: it's a whole operation. I'm like, yo, this is crazy.
- 5:03Speaker 5: It's like the Cosby Show. So how did how did
- 5:07Speaker 5: that come about? How did eighty five self come about?
- 5:10Speaker 5: People see the final product now, but what's the origins
- 5:12Speaker 5: to get to where it is?
- 5:13Speaker 4: Now? You don't take it? Give him the layout?
- 5:19Speaker 6: Yeah, so it started like I've known Lows for almost
- 5:22Speaker 6: fifteen years. So we met when I was a senior
- 5:26Speaker 6: in high school and we worked in the middle of
- 5:28Speaker 6: the all.
- 5:28Speaker 4: Together, and he was in high school. I was grown
- 5:32Speaker 4: up for a wow, I was already adult. He was
- 5:35Speaker 4: in high school. I didn't know it was that.
- 5:37Speaker 7: Far Ken townsend to Mall.
- 5:40Speaker 6: So that's where I first met Lows, first met Clayton,
- 5:45Speaker 6: stayed in touch. It's always been like a big body,
- 5:46Speaker 6: even when I went to school. So I remember when
- 5:49Speaker 6: I was in schools comedy. You've always been the funniest
- 5:52Speaker 6: personal world of me. Fast forward, uh Los was getting
- 5:55Speaker 6: his career off the ground and I was working at
- 5:57Speaker 6: Steve Harvey at the time. Los had an eye we
- 6:00Speaker 6: actually wanted to create a radio show. Those had an
- 6:02Speaker 6: idea to take a digital let's figure out podcasting. That's
- 6:05Speaker 6: that's really where it started out for our six years.
- 6:08Speaker 4: What year is this that you're working at sea Prvey Man, It.
- 6:11Speaker 6: Had to be it's twenty one, so I say, like fourteen, thirteen, fourteen.
- 6:15Speaker 6: But even prior to starting to show, we was always
- 6:18Speaker 6: creating content. We both understood content with something that was necessary.
- 6:23Speaker 6: So looks are shooting hole in the walls, or we
- 6:26Speaker 6: drive to Alabama, we try to whatever city we bring
- 6:29Speaker 6: a camera to try to figure out, yeah, how to
- 6:32Speaker 6: get this content roll.
- 6:33Speaker 3: So those you were doing the comedy thing, right, and
- 6:36Speaker 3: you know, I so wanted the names. And if you
- 6:37Speaker 3: if you don't know comedy, then you probably don't. I
- 6:40Speaker 3: mean you should know this name. You start out with
- 6:42Speaker 3: Robert Townson, That's true. I didn't start out with him.
- 6:45Speaker 4: That was the first TV shit, okay, because he had
- 6:47Speaker 4: bought the network here in Atlanta. Yeah, called the Black
- 6:50Speaker 4: Family Channel, and he brought his You could go way
- 6:53Speaker 4: back in the comedy game when Robert Towns and Partners
- 6:56Speaker 4: in Crime was one of one of the platforms for Commuit.
- 7:00Speaker 4: It was like one of the first places you got
- 7:03Speaker 4: to see Robin Harris, one of the first places that
- 7:06Speaker 4: Damon Wayne shot a special Tommy Davison, and so it
- 7:09Speaker 4: was like it was always like a big launch path
- 7:12Speaker 4: for comedians. But you know, they took it away for
- 7:14Speaker 4: a while and then he bought that network and he
- 7:17Speaker 4: brought it back. So I was like, you know, I
- 7:20Speaker 4: was hoping that the platform would still be what it was,
- 7:22Speaker 4: but it just fizzle. Nobody really saw it.
- 7:25Speaker 3: I remember that was like early nineties when I was
- 7:28Speaker 3: I'm talking about the original one. I was like, damn
- 7:31Speaker 3: yeh come and Living Color Game.
- 7:34Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:35Speaker 3: Crazy.
- 7:35Speaker 4: So he brought it back and then it just really
- 7:37Speaker 4: didn't you know. That was one of the first TV
- 7:39Speaker 4: appearances that I made, Like it came on, but it
- 7:42Speaker 4: just wasn't It was an independent channel, so it wasn't
- 7:45Speaker 4: a lot of views. But I quit. I quit my
- 7:48Speaker 4: I thought I was like the moment. Yeah, So that
- 7:52Speaker 4: was one of the first TV things that I did.
- 7:54Speaker 5: Then so Wilding out comes before eighty Fox South after, Uh.
- 8:00Speaker 4: It comes after I did I first my first season
- 8:03Speaker 4: a while and I was twenty thirteen. So we did
- 8:06Speaker 4: two seasons and then we came back with it and
- 8:09Speaker 4: right around when we dropped Christmas twenty fifteen. Yeah, so
- 8:14Speaker 4: probably like a little maybe like a year and a
- 8:16Speaker 4: half after a while. Now, so you said, who's out
- 8:19Speaker 4: there with it? To actually do the podcast and not radio?
- 8:22Speaker 7: That was Lows, but the idea to create for ourselves
- 8:25Speaker 7: with what we knew we had.
- 8:26Speaker 5: To do, So Loats, what made you want to jump
- 8:29Speaker 5: into that podcast? Because that's early on, before people actually
- 8:32Speaker 5: knew the value. Everybody wants to do a podcast. Now,
- 8:35Speaker 5: what made you want to get on that wave early
- 8:37Speaker 5: Fox whole radio. I used to drive trucks.
- 8:40Speaker 4: I was a truck driver, So after being in the
- 8:43Speaker 4: truck all day, you've heard every song that you want
- 8:45Speaker 4: to hear. I would always turn it over to the
- 8:47Speaker 4: comedy station and it would just be like just comedians
- 8:51Speaker 4: yelling into mic, saying crazy shit. And it was like
- 8:55Speaker 4: once that went away, I was like, we don't have
- 8:58Speaker 4: no doubt less for comedians not to not be performing.
- 9:02Speaker 4: You get what I'm saying, it's like people always want
- 9:05Speaker 4: you to be on as a comedian, but it's no
- 9:07Speaker 4: place where we could have comedian locker room talk. We
- 9:11Speaker 4: didn't have that a free form where we could just
- 9:14Speaker 4: say whatever, give opinions and just wild out literally you
- 9:18Speaker 4: know what I'm saying. So that and I like to
- 9:21Speaker 4: consume media. I listened to a lot of stuff, Like
- 9:23Speaker 4: I listened to a lot of old shit from like
- 9:26Speaker 4: national geographic documentaries. I just like media. So anytime that
- 9:31Speaker 4: I'm doing anything, I got something on, whether it be
- 9:34Speaker 4: just my YouTube recommendations, I probably watch all of them
- 9:37Speaker 4: every day and be like, all right, give me some
- 9:39Speaker 4: more shit to click on. So yeah, I like I
- 9:42Speaker 4: just like the background. I'm Beyonce type shit where you
- 9:45Speaker 4: can form opinions and you know, I bounce ideas back.
- 9:48Speaker 4: And that's how I create a lot of content, is
- 9:51Speaker 4: how to consume a lot of media and just you know,
- 9:53Speaker 4: play off people's emotions and opinions and be like this
- 9:56Speaker 4: is mine. Now.
- 9:57Speaker 5: That's that's crazy because it's like I feel like y'all
- 10:01Speaker 5: really beat the curve. Nobody knew the pandemic was coming,
- 10:04Speaker 5: but it's like, if you're a stand up comedian.
- 10:06Speaker 4: You can't do shows anymore.
- 10:08Speaker 5: Right, but you've actually created a platform where you're actually
- 10:11Speaker 5: doing comedy every Friday when the podcast comes out. So
- 10:15Speaker 5: really you're going on tour digital like my man been
- 10:18Speaker 5: excess digital real estate. So you carved that niche out
- 10:21Speaker 5: and now it's like you don't have to actually physically
- 10:24Speaker 5: go places. You just drop an episode on YouTube, get
- 10:27Speaker 5: a million views, and get paid out.
- 10:28Speaker 4: What we used I used that like I used my
- 10:31Speaker 4: platform as far as the eighty five South Show to
- 10:34Speaker 4: make people want to come see me tell joke, you
- 10:37Speaker 4: know what I'm saying. It's like I'm not on the
- 10:39Speaker 4: eighty five South Show just saying shit or wasted material.
- 10:43Speaker 4: Like it's pretty much free advertising for me. It's like, man,
- 10:46Speaker 4: you if you like the shit that I talk, but
- 10:48Speaker 4: I'm just sitting here with my friends talking shit, wait
- 10:51Speaker 4: until you see me go on stage and actually make
- 10:53Speaker 4: an effort to make you laugh, you know what I'm saying.
- 10:57Speaker 6: I look at podcasts for us though, it's like it's
- 11:00Speaker 6: like we put out a mixtape every Friday, you know,
- 11:03Speaker 6: and a million people listen to it. There was a
- 11:05Speaker 6: time when we were younger in college, like you couldn't
- 11:09Speaker 6: wait for Wayne to put something now and then Gucci
- 11:11Speaker 6: gonna drop something and the future gonna drop something. But
- 11:13Speaker 6: for us, we just got a visual mixtape that's advertising
- 11:17Speaker 6: whatever we want to advertise.
- 11:18Speaker 7: It's a billboard every Friday.
- 11:20Speaker 4: So yeah, talk about that.
- 11:21Speaker 5: Yeah, both could talk about that because everybody has their
- 11:24Speaker 5: own individual brands too, right, So.
- 11:26Speaker 4: That's what makes it work though, under all the layers
- 11:29Speaker 4: of the show is that what makes you know that's
- 11:32Speaker 4: the that's the sauce that people want to find. It's
- 11:35Speaker 4: that we never stopped moving, whether we're moving in the
- 11:37Speaker 4: unit uh at the pandemic hit and we have to
- 11:40Speaker 4: split off and break up the three headed Marster like
- 11:43Speaker 4: you go this way and use zig zag And that's
- 11:45Speaker 4: what keeps it going is that we do all have
- 11:48Speaker 4: individual brands and it's like the eighty five South show
- 11:52Speaker 4: is the house that we keep it under.
- 11:54Speaker 3: So even in that right, because all three of you
- 11:56Speaker 3: are successful, what road does ego playing that?
- 11:59Speaker 4: Right?
- 11:59Speaker 3: Because I could I can imagine like, yo, you get
- 12:01Speaker 3: a roll and it's like, ah, believe it.
- 12:05Speaker 4: Or not, man, nobody chat to tell you man, it
- 12:07Speaker 4: ain't no ego because we're not all on the same
- 12:10Speaker 4: page a man. You give what I'm saying. It's like
- 12:14Speaker 4: we got a right hand, a left hand, and then
- 12:16Speaker 4: we got an ampidextury. You give what I'm saying. That's
- 12:19Speaker 4: the best way to put it, because it's like, no
- 12:21Speaker 4: matter what room you put us in or what rena
- 12:24Speaker 4: you put us in, if you give us three dressing rooms,
- 12:27Speaker 4: we all go to end up in the same spot
- 12:28Speaker 4: talking ship. And it's just this is it is really organic,
- 12:32Speaker 4: you know what I'm saying, Like, we don't have to
- 12:34Speaker 4: figure each other. I was like, DC might walk in
- 12:36Speaker 4: and throw his goddamn phone across the room. Well that's
- 12:39Speaker 4: just what he Chico made fucking walk off. You might
- 12:43Speaker 4: not see him till we get ready to go on
- 12:44Speaker 4: the shade, the stage or whatever. I might fucking around
- 12:47Speaker 4: and walk in and talk shit for two hours and
- 12:49Speaker 4: go to sleep at ten minutes. It's just we always
- 12:52Speaker 4: were moving as one in different directions. It's just crazy
- 12:56Speaker 4: to see how it works out.
- 12:57Speaker 3: That's the genius part because people just see the comedy,
- 13:00Speaker 3: but they overlooked the part of black men working together.
- 13:03Speaker 7: Yeah, it's not. It's like Hollywood, ask us, how's it.
- 13:06Speaker 7: I'm like, Yo, these.
- 13:07Speaker 6: Are really my partners right right, right, right right now
- 13:09Speaker 6: to tell you that I know where they live, they
- 13:11Speaker 6: know where I live.
- 13:13Speaker 7: We're friends.
- 13:13Speaker 6: When the cameras is off, all you're seeing is the
- 13:16Speaker 6: hour or the two hours, but like we have three
- 13:18Speaker 6: hour conversations with each individual and we can kick it
- 13:21Speaker 6: for Thanksgiving or whatever the case is.
- 13:23Speaker 7: Like we're really friends happen to make money.
- 13:26Speaker 6: And even like, you know, people say you shouldn't do
- 13:28Speaker 6: business with friends or family, but I feel like that's
- 13:32Speaker 6: somebody that's trying to be the big dog or somebody
- 13:35Speaker 6: that's like skip skimming off.
- 13:37Speaker 7: The top, Like we don't have nothing from each other.
- 13:39Speaker 6: Right, You know, it's easy to do business when it's
- 13:41Speaker 6: integrity and honesty. You know, the business is that the
- 13:45Speaker 6: easy part creating is like and all that other stuff
- 13:48Speaker 6: is a odd part.
- 13:49Speaker 5: Lo let me ask you this, because you got side
- 13:52Speaker 5: two sides of the coin. You work for Nick cannon
- 13:55Speaker 5: on wound Out, which is corporate, but then you got
- 13:58Speaker 5: eighty five South, which y'all do your own thing. So
- 14:00Speaker 5: what's the comparison, Like, what's the good side bad side
- 14:03Speaker 5: of being in that corporate machine and as opposed to
- 14:06Speaker 5: doing everything independent?
- 14:08Speaker 4: Eighty part South well, I mean when you when you're
- 14:11Speaker 4: working for somebody or with somebody, it's only there's only
- 14:14Speaker 4: so much that that you can do. You get what
- 14:18Speaker 4: I'm saying. And it's like you going to somebody else's
- 14:22Speaker 4: platform at the end of the at the end or
- 14:25Speaker 4: whatever it is that you do, it's still there. You
- 14:28Speaker 4: give what I'm saying. I like the direct benefit of
- 14:31Speaker 4: benefiting from my own work as opposed to working for
- 14:35Speaker 4: somebody or with somebody making they shit look good. You
- 14:38Speaker 4: get what I'm saying, because it's like shit they don't get.
- 14:42Speaker 4: They don't give a shit about who you are, what
- 14:45Speaker 4: you brought to This is a business at the end
- 14:47Speaker 4: of the day. And if I feel like I can
- 14:49Speaker 4: get what I want from what I need from you
- 14:53Speaker 4: as a talent from somebody else at a better rate,
- 14:56Speaker 4: then I'm gonna do that. That's just how that side
- 14:59Speaker 4: of the game. You don't never want to be talent
- 15:02Speaker 4: for hire, you know what I'm saying. I said this
- 15:05Speaker 4: on a set when I wasn't happy one time. It's like,
- 15:08Speaker 4: you got me looking real hired right now, and that's
- 15:11Speaker 4: not what I'm here for. You get what I'm saying.
- 15:13Speaker 4: I'm not hired talent on this, like I have an
- 15:17Speaker 4: invested interest in this production. So that was the like,
- 15:22Speaker 4: and then you have to explain like this, ain't that
- 15:25Speaker 4: like you're not telling me what to do. You get
- 15:27Speaker 4: what I'm saying. I talked to the same people you
- 15:29Speaker 4: talk to it. Now we need to go talk to
- 15:31Speaker 4: these people we can because I know that they know
- 15:35Speaker 4: that they don't know that you're trying to act like
- 15:37Speaker 4: you hired me on it. That's the risk that I
- 15:41Speaker 4: have to take a lot of times as a talent
- 15:43Speaker 4: because I can tell when shit ain't right. Be like,
- 15:46Speaker 4: hold up, he quiet his dope clothes and let me
- 15:54Speaker 4: go talk to these coats. He ain't gonna say it.
- 15:57Speaker 4: He ain't gonna say it now. It's gonna look like
- 15:59Speaker 4: I'm angry, But I'm gonna have to go say it
- 16:02Speaker 4: because I know we could turn this bitch into work
- 16:05Speaker 4: if you want to.
- 16:06Speaker 3: I want us to work.
- 16:07Speaker 4: You want us to just get the money, or you
- 16:09Speaker 4: want us to do what we came here to do.
- 16:11Speaker 4: Because this is and I'll be telling you a lot
- 16:13Speaker 4: of time like lo, because I'm like, bro, it's the
- 16:15Speaker 4: difference in between when you when you own and when
- 16:18Speaker 4: you're working. Sometimes motherfuckers be working and don't know it.
- 16:23Speaker 4: Just make it look like they own. When you own,
- 16:26Speaker 4: can't nobody fire you none of that ship. When you own,
- 16:30Speaker 4: they have to go get that dude and be like,
- 16:32Speaker 4: come on, let's talk him and us if we need
- 16:35Speaker 4: to fix this ship. When you tell it, they'd be like,
- 16:39Speaker 4: you ain't listening to him, Oh you ain't listening. Oh
- 16:44Speaker 4: this can we talk to everybody? Yeah, because yeah, we
- 16:50Speaker 4: won't want that. We need mother fuck we need listeners.
- 16:53Speaker 4: We don't need bosses in here. We need listeners, We
- 16:56Speaker 4: need teamwork, we need everybody on the same page. That's
- 17:01Speaker 4: how he trates to line you when you hired, but
- 17:03Speaker 4: when you own and be like we can, we can
- 17:07Speaker 4: we it's a whole different conversation. Yeah, when you talent,
- 17:13Speaker 4: they'd be like, you can't smoke in here. That's when
- 17:16Speaker 4: you own, Like you need an ass trip.
- 17:20Speaker 5: That's what you're play, he said. That's why he quit.
- 17:22Speaker 5: That's one of the reason why he quit complex. They
- 17:24Speaker 5: wouldn't let Hi smoke in the bathroom. He felt the
- 17:27Speaker 5: way about that.
- 17:28Speaker 4: There's different rules when you when you hired than when
- 17:31Speaker 4: you own.
- 17:32Speaker 3: So and shanty references earlier. Every time we pull up
- 17:35Speaker 3: on y'all, it's like twenty people there. But in the beginning,
- 17:39Speaker 3: is it just you three?
- 17:40Speaker 4: Are you four?
- 17:41Speaker 3: Including Chad on that wooden table saying like, Yo, we
- 17:44Speaker 3: gonna get this done? And what what it was the
- 17:46Speaker 3: steps that said, you know what, we got to scale
- 17:48Speaker 3: this a little bit more.
- 17:48Speaker 4: Well, check this out. If you ever see us with
- 17:50Speaker 4: twenty people, seventeen of them people are working, right, brother,
- 17:58Speaker 4: that's one thing about us. You don't have no dead weight.
- 18:01Speaker 4: I'm telling you, man. Everybody that that's around us is
- 18:05Speaker 4: around us for a reason, man, And a lot of
- 18:07Speaker 4: times we have people who work around us, whether they
- 18:10Speaker 4: be artists or shit, the presidents of the bank. It's
- 18:14Speaker 4: just we just have the type of energy that makes
- 18:16Speaker 4: people want to be around. You get what I'm saying.
- 18:18Speaker 4: And we try to we try to, you know, shuffle
- 18:20Speaker 4: it around, but they still they like magnets, man, they
- 18:23Speaker 4: fucking find And that's dope. When you when you know
- 18:27Speaker 4: what I'm saying, When you know people not just around
- 18:29Speaker 4: because they want something like, they want to be there,
- 18:31Speaker 4: you know what.
- 18:32Speaker 3: I mean, it gives that feeling like everybody feels like
- 18:34Speaker 3: they're part of this. Like even before y'all show up
- 18:36Speaker 3: to the statu It's like, Yo, everybody's walking in the
- 18:38Speaker 3: greeting and it feels like, Yo, eighty five South is us,
- 18:40Speaker 3: you know what I'm saying. So that's that's that's a
- 18:42Speaker 3: dope envioment.
- 18:42Speaker 4: We try to keep it like being on sets like
- 18:45Speaker 4: Wilder Now, it's like we try to keep that shit
- 18:47Speaker 4: is hood in Hollywood. At the same time, it's like,
- 18:51Speaker 4: we don't have this dude doing twelve things, you know
- 18:54Speaker 4: what I'm saying. We try to keep people in their lane.
- 18:57Speaker 4: So that's why we try to streamline our whole action.
- 19:00Speaker 4: You know, people want necessarily see like a podcast, but
- 19:04Speaker 4: we have to produce a whole show. So we need
- 19:07Speaker 4: somebody who can do the light, shoot some pictures that
- 19:10Speaker 4: we need somebody who can run to the store. It
- 19:12Speaker 4: gets plussed. Needs to be the same people. You give
- 19:16Speaker 4: what I'm saying, It's like you got one job literally
- 19:19Speaker 4: over the store. Yeah we got get the lunch. Yeah,
- 19:23Speaker 4: we're trying to keep our ship running like Amazon. Man.
- 19:26Speaker 4: We don't want everybody in the way, and we don't
- 19:28Speaker 4: want too many people around that's not doing it it. Yeah,
- 19:34Speaker 4: we're trying to keep the overhead, underhanded. If that makes
- 19:37Speaker 4: you want ours to be under that you're gonna do something.
- 19:42Speaker 4: You're driving from a show or something. You got something
- 19:45Speaker 4: you can do well. I can't do that well standing
- 19:48Speaker 4: there and look like you're good as some ship. Put
- 19:52Speaker 4: that shirt on face.
- 19:55Speaker 3: Somebody opened the bottles exactly more bottles. That's a fact.
- 20:00Speaker 4: Chat.
- 20:00Speaker 5: Let me ask you this dealing with you know, corporations
- 20:04Speaker 5: and things of that nature. I know you do a
- 20:06Speaker 5: lot of the conversations. So you guys, you know y'all
- 20:09Speaker 5: got a full flashed business with your your comedy platform.
- 20:12Speaker 5: So at first or even now, you have to deal
- 20:15Speaker 5: with that, like people not taking you as serious.
- 20:18Speaker 4: How's that? How like talk about that a little bit
- 20:21Speaker 4: before you answer. Let me say one thing. When people
- 20:24Speaker 4: hit me about some eighty five South show ship and
- 20:26Speaker 4: I'll be like, hit Chad. They'd be like, no, no, no, no,
- 20:31Speaker 4: I'm trying to get what I'm trying to talk to you.
- 20:33Speaker 4: I'm liken, bro, you're gonna talk to Chad because we
- 20:36Speaker 4: ain't going through all that other ship. He know exactly
- 20:39Speaker 4: what we want and he know exactly what it's gonna
- 20:42Speaker 4: take for us to give you what you're asking. For
- 20:44Speaker 4: that's that's the man that you got to talk to
- 20:47Speaker 4: before eny of this. That don't hit me asking me
- 20:49Speaker 4: how much the show calls? What is gonna We don't
- 20:52Speaker 4: even run like that. You gotta talk to Chad bro
- 20:56Speaker 4: He is he the nigga who's gonna take you. No,
- 20:58Speaker 4: that ain't gonna work. DC gonna break that noe, Chico
- 21:01Speaker 4: don't want to come. Those gonna be No, those ain't
- 21:04Speaker 4: wucking with it. He already knows because we DIDNET did
- 21:06Speaker 4: this ship one hundred and fifties. Now, now it makes
- 21:09Speaker 4: sense why he has a demeanor like he got to
- 21:12Speaker 4: say no. I think you know what his demeanon is.
- 21:16Speaker 4: It's that knowing what he has to say no, because
- 21:19Speaker 4: he it's not like he just gotta been there out
- 21:22Speaker 4: against people. It's like, ah, I know these people, and
- 21:26Speaker 4: I'm trying to do this ship with you with and
- 21:28Speaker 4: it's not gonna work for this reason. I ain't mean
- 21:32Speaker 4: to cut.
- 21:32Speaker 7: You off, but you ain't even start.
- 21:34Speaker 4: So you gotta talk to him.
- 21:38Speaker 5: And I was saying, like, you know, dealer corporations and
- 21:40Speaker 5: all that, and y'all being a comedy platform because people
- 21:44Speaker 5: being sold are intelligence and we're a business platform, and
- 21:47Speaker 5: I'm like, you would at least think that they would
- 21:49Speaker 5: at least give us the benefit of the doubt talk
- 21:52Speaker 5: about it every single week. They still think that we
- 21:54Speaker 5: have no idea what we're doing. So how has that
- 21:56Speaker 5: been for you?
- 21:56Speaker 4: Man?
- 21:57Speaker 6: It's I look at it as these are old giants
- 22:00Speaker 6: holding on to the last hope and they know that
- 22:03Speaker 6: their world is crumbling and we got all the power,
- 22:07Speaker 6: you know, so they treat us as if you know,
- 22:11Speaker 6: they're doing us favors and I'm like, yo, you don't
- 22:14Speaker 6: even necessarily have to do business with you, you know,
- 22:17Speaker 6: like we're good with or without you, which forces them
- 22:20Speaker 6: eventually to do good business.
- 22:22Speaker 7: Byas if they want to do business bias. So them
- 22:25Speaker 7: like it doesn't insult my intelligence? Can I say this
- 22:28Speaker 7: with respect?
- 22:28Speaker 6: Because it's like, dog, I wake up one on one,
- 22:31Speaker 6: you know, you got to answer to somebody, So like
- 22:35Speaker 6: it doesn't frustrate me, you don't get right, I'm cool
- 22:38Speaker 6: and my partner is just cool. And they trust what
- 22:41Speaker 6: I'm saying because we've already had this conversation. I'm not
- 22:44Speaker 6: having some under the table conversation with you. This is
- 22:46Speaker 6: something that LOSS has agreed on. Chicos agreed on, flies,
- 22:49Speaker 6: agreed on Joe's agreed on, cats, agreed on And I'm
- 22:53Speaker 6: just the I'm the vessel for this information.
- 22:56Speaker 7: That's it.
- 22:57Speaker 6: So it doesn't if I let that frustrate me, that'd
- 23:00Speaker 6: be my ego. So I checked my ego every morning.
- 23:02Speaker 4: I don't. I ain't nobody checking mind. Be humble for
- 23:08Speaker 4: what be broke.
- 23:13Speaker 7: No, it doesn't frustrat me.
- 23:15Speaker 4: You never be great talking to yourself out of it,
- 23:19Speaker 4: like I need to be humble for be around some
- 23:22Speaker 4: niggas make it three hundred a week. No thanks exactly,
- 23:25Speaker 4: And this.
- 23:26Speaker 7: Is why I say no a lot.
- 23:29Speaker 4: You gotta I'm telling you, man, when you get when
- 23:32Speaker 4: you get to the point where you just tired of
- 23:35Speaker 4: working and doing ship for people, that's truth with people
- 23:39Speaker 4: around people waiting on motherfuckers, you hear the wall and
- 23:42Speaker 4: be like I refuse to let you slow up what
- 23:45Speaker 4: I'm on, Like, I'm not about to keep calling you
- 23:47Speaker 4: and nigga, what's the problem. Like, I hate the way
- 23:50Speaker 4: you have to force some people to do what they
- 23:53Speaker 4: fucking asked to be. You know what I mean, they
- 23:55Speaker 4: asked to be putting these positions when it comes to
- 23:57Speaker 4: doing businesses, Oh man, let's let's get up call me
- 24:01Speaker 4: Wednesday or we gotta do something like, Bro, you are
- 24:04Speaker 4: wasting that every time I see you say the same ship.
- 24:07Speaker 4: You gotta get up, man, I'm still the same You
- 24:10Speaker 4: ain't never used you never called me bro. Don't act
- 24:16Speaker 4: like we on all this ship because people around Nigga
- 24:19Speaker 4: you've been you knew me before anything. Now you're gonna
- 24:22Speaker 4: try to play like a funk with you.
- 24:25Speaker 7: People around yeah yeah, yeah yeah, now they like they
- 24:29Speaker 7: almost it almost like these corporations get offended. You're saying
- 24:33Speaker 7: no to me.
- 24:34Speaker 6: I'm like, Bro, it's bad business, you know, Like I
- 24:36Speaker 6: don't think people fully understand how insulated we are, Like
- 24:41Speaker 6: we're not. There's no loan, nobody funds this. This is
- 24:46Speaker 6: us pay the tax bill every year, every quarter or
- 24:49Speaker 6: whatever the case is. So if the business makes sense,
- 24:52Speaker 6: we could do it. It's not really hard. But what
- 24:54Speaker 6: you also learned too with these corporate guys, just.
- 24:57Speaker 7: Their title doesn't mean that they're like the most intelligent.
- 25:00Speaker 4: Yep, and a lot of people got a boss too.
- 25:02Speaker 4: That's why Dame dash Be saying that a lot of
- 25:04Speaker 4: people come up to you and they'll make you a
- 25:06Speaker 4: bullshit business offer. And you're like what. Then once you
- 25:10Speaker 4: look at the numbers and how they break down over
- 25:12Speaker 4: a certain period of time, you're like, Man, if you
- 25:15Speaker 4: don't get the fuck on with this shit in this
- 25:17Speaker 4: amount of time, I could trip. I can make this
- 25:20Speaker 4: by myself. So it's like, if all I gotta do
- 25:22Speaker 4: is go out and grind to get this money that
- 25:25Speaker 4: you're talking about, and it's gonna take me, you got
- 25:27Speaker 4: it right here today. But if I have to go
- 25:28Speaker 4: out and hustle for the next two months or three
- 25:31Speaker 4: months and I can get this independent, then what the
- 25:33Speaker 4: fuck is you offering me?
- 25:34Speaker 3: That's why I think y'all, especially in that category, were
- 25:38Speaker 3: a new businessman, right that. We wear hoodies, we got
- 25:41Speaker 3: corn rolls, we got bids and bullheads like.
- 25:42Speaker 4: We do all that we businessmen too.
- 25:45Speaker 3: Now, sometimes that gets diskind of when we get in
- 25:47Speaker 3: front of these people take it for a discount, like, yo,
- 25:49Speaker 3: they must not know anything, but you ain't start this.
- 25:51Speaker 4: That's because we are aware of the way that they've
- 25:53Speaker 4: been doing business with us for the past few years.
- 25:56Speaker 4: It's like they come through with these advertising deals or
- 25:59Speaker 4: these sponsorship and then you find out that you was
- 26:01Speaker 4: talking to a dude who was trying to give you
- 26:04Speaker 4: a quarter of what the people came back and told
- 26:07Speaker 4: him to offer you so he could pocket the rest
- 26:09Speaker 4: of this shit. So then it's like, okay, so we
- 26:12Speaker 4: passed on this this year, and now we go back
- 26:14Speaker 4: and we talked to your boss, say, well, what happened
- 26:17Speaker 4: we sent what he's no longer working for. That's happened
- 26:23Speaker 4: more than one exactly. So a lot of times you
- 26:26Speaker 4: get caught up talking to the wrong people about the
- 26:28Speaker 4: right ship.
- 26:28Speaker 7: Though they betting on you, Like having to pay your bills.
- 26:31Speaker 4: Right right, right, right right, say no to whatever.
- 26:34Speaker 7: Right I'm cool. Like when I'm telling you I'm cool,
- 26:37Speaker 7: I'm not saying it because it's sexy. I'm really mean
- 26:39Speaker 7: I'm cool.
- 26:41Speaker 4: You can't be doing that good, Like.
- 26:43Speaker 7: No, we're cool, bro, I don't know how to tell
- 26:45Speaker 7: you that.
- 26:46Speaker 6: Everybody you see here we're paying they're comfortably, they're good,
- 26:49Speaker 6: they're not living check to check.
- 26:50Speaker 7: Like, I don't know what you I don't know what
- 26:52Speaker 7: to tell you.
- 26:54Speaker 3: I was going to go to the point where like
- 26:55Speaker 3: you didn't start there, right, so you you have the
- 26:57Speaker 3: business acamen now. But I know that the Steve Harvey
- 27:01Speaker 3: situation helped mold that. So what are some of the examples,
- 27:04Speaker 3: because I know Cat was with you too over there, right,
- 27:06Speaker 3: So what are some things that you saw in that
- 27:08Speaker 3: in that avenue.
- 27:08Speaker 4: That you brought to eighty five?
- 27:10Speaker 7: So I'll go back even further before that. When I
- 27:12Speaker 7: was when I first moved back to.
- 27:14Speaker 6: Atlanta at like twenty two to twenty three, I was
- 27:16Speaker 6: working for an agency out here that was doing television, film, sports,
- 27:20Speaker 6: whatever case. So just to even see a CEO that's black,
- 27:24Speaker 6: that's driving the beans, it's wearing Jordan's at thirty eight
- 27:27Speaker 6: years old, that does something to your spirit that you
- 27:30Speaker 6: can see that it was a smaller company. So you
- 27:32Speaker 6: go from carrying coffee and getting trashed in three months.
- 27:35Speaker 6: You're running calls, or you're running production sheets, or you're
- 27:38Speaker 6: running budgets, and it's really like a lot of us
- 27:42Speaker 6: just haven't experienced stuff. So I was just able to
- 27:44Speaker 6: experience stuff at I'm running million dollar budgets at twenty
- 27:47Speaker 6: four years old, and you learn like, oh, it's just money.
- 27:50Speaker 6: With most zeros, it's not hard. There's still accounting rules,
- 27:53Speaker 6: there's still budgeting rules. Good business is good business. Bro
- 27:56Speaker 6: with ten dollars or with ten million dollars.
- 27:58Speaker 7: It's not really hard.
- 28:00Speaker 6: You transition that from being able to work directly for
- 28:02Speaker 6: Steve and what that forces you to do is really
- 28:04Speaker 6: understand the landscape. And you see these people like these
- 28:07Speaker 6: these digital account managers are like sixty years old, bro,
- 28:10Speaker 6: Like they're not they don't know what they're talking about.
- 28:13Speaker 6: And you got to be respectful because like, who is
- 28:14Speaker 6: this twenty.
- 28:15Speaker 4: Six year kid?
- 28:16Speaker 6: So you got to learn you really learn the language
- 28:18Speaker 6: more than you learn like the business is the easiest part.
- 28:22Speaker 7: You got to fight through egos to get what you
- 28:24Speaker 7: need to get to.
- 28:25Speaker 4: Make a lot of people celebrating a last victory did this.
- 28:32Speaker 6: But but what you learned from Steve Dogg is that
- 28:35Speaker 6: I actually worked directly for his business partner, which was
- 28:37Speaker 6: Rashan McDonald and that's who had done business with him
- 28:39Speaker 6: for twenty plus years.
- 28:41Speaker 7: I got to work with Steve Harvey when he's up.
- 28:45Speaker 6: An ungodly amount of money, you know, and he's like, Dude,
- 28:47Speaker 6: the best thing I'm gonna do for y'all. Give y'all access,
- 28:50Speaker 6: show y'all, and I trust y'all. So it goes from
- 28:53Speaker 6: carrying his bags and boxes coffee to like, yo, if
- 28:57Speaker 6: Chad and Joe ain't with it.
- 28:58Speaker 4: We ain't with it.
- 29:00Speaker 6: So you got to make some real decisions and you
- 29:01Speaker 6: find out you know what you made of. You're gonna
- 29:03Speaker 6: make a couple of mistakes, but you're gonna win some
- 29:05Speaker 6: and you really learn from them mistakes. So just having
- 29:08Speaker 6: that access, which is back to what Lo said, that's
- 29:10Speaker 6: why people are around us.
- 29:11Speaker 7: We don't get access to gate, keep access, you.
- 29:14Speaker 6: Know, Like the more we can share with everybody, the
- 29:17Speaker 6: more we can uplift everybody.
- 29:18Speaker 7: And a lot of us can stand independently and say
- 29:20Speaker 7: more nose because they.
- 29:22Speaker 6: Take they take our creativity, package it up and sell
- 29:25Speaker 6: it back to us.
- 29:26Speaker 7: It's wild to me how that works.
- 29:28Speaker 6: There's people that have come to him and be like,
- 29:29Speaker 6: I got this idea, and it's like, Bro, this dude
- 29:32Speaker 6: said it six months ago.
- 29:33Speaker 4: What are you talking about. Yeah. They they'll fly you
- 29:34Speaker 4: back to la and repitch you up like you mean
- 29:37Speaker 4: the one I was telling you about that happens.
- 29:40Speaker 7: They do it. Hollywood is crazy, bro, perfect for you.
- 29:44Speaker 7: I hate Hollywood.
- 29:45Speaker 4: Bro.
- 29:46Speaker 6: Last year, like Hollywood will boldly attach themselves to like
- 29:51Speaker 6: the source of what they're like tics.
- 29:53Speaker 7: Man, they're like parasites. It's crazy.
- 29:56Speaker 5: To me the best advice we got. We got a
- 29:58Speaker 5: lot of good advice, but somebody told us shout out
- 30:00Speaker 5: to Romeo Brown in Hollywood. Actually this was early in
- 30:04Speaker 5: our podcast journey. He was like, Yo, make sure y'all
- 30:07Speaker 5: never let up because which I got is dope. He's like,
- 30:10Speaker 5: but somebody with a bigger platform will come take your
- 30:13Speaker 5: idea and then people think that you stole it from them.
- 30:16Speaker 6: That's the game, dude, Look at you face you.
- 30:20Speaker 4: I don't like memes, bro, That's why I don't like
- 30:23Speaker 4: me for real. Bro. Every meme that I like is
- 30:27Speaker 4: a joke that I said already be crazy. So when
- 30:32Speaker 4: I see somebody like all my time post the meme
- 30:36Speaker 4: of a that's right, let me show you where they
- 30:38Speaker 4: got this real. That's crazy. So let me ask you
- 30:42Speaker 4: this be cuz soon, Yeah, thousands of my jokes on.
- 30:47Speaker 5: Yeah, y'all, y'all did it. Y'all do a great job
- 30:49Speaker 5: of repurposing content. What I mean was like when y'all
- 30:52Speaker 5: was traveling, so y'all would do like a live show, right,
- 30:55Speaker 5: that's a live show, and then take the audio and
- 30:58Speaker 5: put it on podcasts.
- 30:59Speaker 4: Outlets take the visuals and put it on YouTube. Did
- 31:02Speaker 4: this Those are two totally different audiences. You got people
- 31:06Speaker 4: who can't sit and watch video all day, but they
- 31:09Speaker 4: can listen to it. You understand that a lot of
- 31:13Speaker 4: this shit hits so different if you just heard it.
- 31:15Speaker 4: It's some shit that you will hear on that episode
- 31:18Speaker 4: three or four times to be like, damn, we a
- 31:20Speaker 4: video I want because I know, I know it went
- 31:23Speaker 4: crazy right there. I see this moment exactly. So we
- 31:25Speaker 4: got a lot of people who work overnight and wear
- 31:28Speaker 4: houses and drive trucks, and secretaries and nurses at nursing
- 31:32Speaker 4: stations and just like people you would never like security
- 31:35Speaker 4: guards all let these you know, secret secure places where
- 31:39Speaker 4: they're like, I'm back here by myself. Those chickens out
- 31:41Speaker 4: the ain't supposed to even have my phone, and they
- 31:42Speaker 4: send me these clips. This one girl send me a
- 31:45Speaker 4: clip she was getting some brain surgery, bro her whole ed.
- 31:49Speaker 4: She's sitting there on the other side, like just watching
- 31:52Speaker 4: my eighty five SAPs. If I die, I gotta go
- 31:55Speaker 4: out with eighty fiveself. I'm telling you, I hope y'all
- 31:58Speaker 4: doing the same. And the video is too totally I
- 32:03Speaker 4: want to talk. That's what you said was brilliant. And
- 32:05Speaker 4: that's trub was just having a conversation with David about that.
- 32:07Speaker 4: And it's like, some people never watch YouTube, some people
- 32:11Speaker 4: never listen to audio. It's to see them. Think about
- 32:13Speaker 4: how many people watch I show every Friday that don't
- 32:16Speaker 4: have a YouTube account. They can't log in, they can't subscribe,
- 32:19Speaker 4: they can't even leave a comment. That I feel like
- 32:23Speaker 4: that's probably the bulk of the audience. Yeah, and it's crazy.
- 32:27Speaker 5: It's like for podcasters, that's multiple ways to pot to
- 32:30Speaker 5: get revenue.
- 32:31Speaker 4: It's like be giving them too much game commercial. I
- 32:35Speaker 4: ain't running y'all ship, but this has been a perfect
- 32:37Speaker 4: place to drop a commercial. Go to commercial.
- 32:40Speaker 6: Look, I'll say this too, dog like the days of
- 32:43Speaker 6: manufactured celebrity is gone.
- 32:47Speaker 7: The people can in their brains that can touch you.
- 32:49Speaker 4: They talk talk about that manufactured celebrity.
- 32:51Speaker 6: Yeah, so Hollywood is based on it's there's a gatekeeper
- 32:55Speaker 6: that green lights this stuff, that approves the stuff that that.
- 32:58Speaker 7: Knights the new whoever. Same thing in the record industry.
- 33:02Speaker 6: But bro, at the press of a button and on
- 33:04Speaker 6: your cell phone, you can touch millions and millions of people.
- 33:07Speaker 6: And what you learn is like a lot of these people,
- 33:10Speaker 6: a lot of these people are overproducing stuff to say
- 33:13Speaker 6: that they had a part of this creativity. Like if
- 33:16Speaker 6: Kanye is made nine to nine percent of the record,
- 33:17Speaker 6: there's a dude in the album that's I mean, that's
- 33:19Speaker 6: in the studio. It's like, well, bro, I told you
- 33:21Speaker 6: to say yeah right here so he can go tell
- 33:23Speaker 6: his twenty five partners. Well, I say a year right there, Bro,
- 33:26Speaker 6: I'm the one to help Kanye put that together. That's
- 33:28Speaker 6: exactly how Hollywood works, you know, nine out of ten times.
- 33:32Speaker 6: So what's happened is like eyeballs are decentralized. Entertainment is
- 33:38Speaker 6: just purely based off of eyeballs. If you got eyeballs,
- 33:41Speaker 6: we're gonna put some advertising money next to it. The
- 33:43Speaker 6: more eyeballs you got, the more advertising money you make,
- 33:45Speaker 6: and then it spends off and triculates the way it's
- 33:47Speaker 6: suposed to triculate.
- 33:48Speaker 4: Let me ask you all this, do you ever think
- 33:50Speaker 4: about all the people that we can't reach just because
- 33:53Speaker 4: of just because of our demographic Like there are fucking
- 33:58Speaker 4: billions of people who go online all day and stream shit.
- 34:01Speaker 4: Jake Drake just got fifty billion streams, yeah, spotifact. Think
- 34:06Speaker 4: of how many of those people we could never reach
- 34:08Speaker 4: just no matter what we talk about, no matter what
- 34:10Speaker 4: we do, they're just not gonna watch no niggas do that.
- 34:14Speaker 3: Yeah, the fact, but do.
- 34:16Speaker 5: You think that that's kind of a gift in the
- 34:17Speaker 5: curse because it's like for us, I feel like, haven't
- 34:21Speaker 5: I hate the fact that people would consider us as
- 34:24Speaker 5: a black podcast or black finance because we're just black, right,
- 34:27Speaker 5: that doesn't make us just exclusive just to only black people.
- 34:30Speaker 5: But they do that wh I was telling you last lever,
- 34:32Speaker 5: Remember they do that all the time. But it's like,
- 34:35Speaker 5: but that has also helped propel us because it's like
- 34:39Speaker 5: we have such a large that's like nobody else has
- 34:42Speaker 5: that demographic. We tap into a demographic that nobody else,
- 34:45Speaker 5: no other business podcast, it has eighty five South Show
- 34:49Speaker 5: all I yout.
- 34:49Speaker 4: Know what I'm saying.
- 34:50Speaker 5: So I think like on the flip side, we could
- 34:54Speaker 5: potentially be losing a lot of people that for whatever
- 34:57Speaker 5: reason just are not tuning in because we're too young
- 35:00Speaker 5: black men. But then there's like how many millions of
- 35:03Speaker 5: people who was left out for years now have a
- 35:06Speaker 5: voice and somebody that's champion it.
- 35:08Speaker 3: Becomes the sole reason why they are listening. It's like
- 35:10Speaker 3: nobody's was talking to us. Now we got them.
- 35:12Speaker 6: If I'm y'all, I wouldn't even think about that because
- 35:14Speaker 6: what y'all created, just like what we created, this community
- 35:17Speaker 6: and your community is gonna support you. You know, it's
- 35:20Speaker 6: just in a digital space. But when y'all go do
- 35:22Speaker 6: these shows, y'all are touching the people. Y'all are engaging
- 35:24Speaker 6: with the people. Y'all are really taking people's phone numbers
- 35:26Speaker 6: and emails. That goes way further than spending some mad
- 35:29Speaker 6: money to get people to watch you. But a lot
- 35:31Speaker 6: of these guys back to centralized eyeballs and celebrity falling down.
- 35:35Speaker 6: They don't build community. They're like this manufactured puppet. Then
- 35:40Speaker 6: there's this version of them and then when the lights
- 35:42Speaker 6: goes off, they got to go be a human.
- 35:43Speaker 4: See, those are the people that have to get online
- 35:46Speaker 4: and make apologies for shit is They fuck around and
- 35:48Speaker 4: be yourself one day and you step outside of this
- 35:51Speaker 4: character people know you for now you have to be
- 35:54Speaker 4: apologetic and say I'm sorry, let my fans down. I
- 35:58Speaker 4: don't really feel like that. I'm talking to that lady,
- 36:02Speaker 4: you know, like what lady council.
- 36:07Speaker 6: But dog like, I'm like y'all. It's no different than
- 36:10Speaker 6: like it's weird when I hear dudes be like, man,
- 36:12Speaker 6: she don't like me, because I'm like, bro, just go
- 36:14Speaker 6: to the women that like you.
- 36:15Speaker 7: They wouldn't like you. It's not that hard celebrated. But
- 36:18Speaker 7: that's how I look at our community.
- 36:19Speaker 6: Like if you come to our audience, these dudes just
- 36:22Speaker 6: laughing with people in the wheelchairs. They're laughing with people
- 36:25Speaker 6: that may have ailments or issues, old people, young people,
- 36:28Speaker 6: but we feel like everybody's cousin.
- 36:30Speaker 4: They came to see us. That's what I love about
- 36:33Speaker 4: when we go do laugh shows. It's it's like out
- 36:36Speaker 4: of all the times in the studio or whatever you're
- 36:38Speaker 4: posting online, Bro, you pull up in these people siting,
- 36:41Speaker 4: and these people pull up these are the ones that
- 36:44Speaker 4: that ship really touched.
- 36:45Speaker 3: So do you ever feel like at a point it
- 36:48Speaker 3: becomes tough to turn the on switch off switch or
- 36:52Speaker 3: like loss loss whatever he's at.
- 36:53Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying.
- 36:54Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying, because and I'm just saying
- 36:56Speaker 3: that sometimes like people might want you to always crack.
- 36:58Speaker 4: Jokes, and it's like, no, I'm gonna do that anyway,
- 37:00Speaker 4: just regardless. Yeah, Like people come up to me and
- 37:02Speaker 4: they be like, hey, man, I hate the interrupt you.
- 37:05Speaker 4: Well don't then what are you stud here? Yeah? I know,
- 37:10Speaker 4: I'm serious, amazing what you want?
- 37:12Speaker 7: Just lost in the middle of the mall selling cell phones?
- 37:14Speaker 7: You know, it just.
- 37:16Speaker 6: Happens that we've now we've learned how to do business,
- 37:19Speaker 6: and we put the business around it.
- 37:20Speaker 4: That's it.
- 37:21Speaker 3: So that then that makes it a benefit there is
- 37:23Speaker 3: knowing this is who I am.
- 37:24Speaker 4: So that's that's what's so funny about working with DC
- 37:26Speaker 4: bro Chad today. Like I'm like this Nigga is so
- 37:29Speaker 4: me when I.
- 37:30Speaker 3: Was his age.
- 37:31Speaker 4: Yeah, that's why I'm always like that. Nigga always like
- 37:35Speaker 4: his spirit is always like it's just like revives me
- 37:38Speaker 4: just to be around the young, younger energy. I'm like, Nigga,
- 37:42Speaker 4: we got to be related because you just as fucking
- 37:44Speaker 4: crazy as I. Luckily this was before all the social
- 37:47Speaker 4: media ship, and I used to just sit there in
- 37:49Speaker 4: the mall and just pick people off all day, literally
- 37:53Speaker 4: all day. Nah, you can't afford no phone? Go ahead,
- 37:56Speaker 4: go ahead, serious, hey, come here, let me give you
- 38:00Speaker 4: a new case because that one. I ain't even gonna
- 38:02Speaker 4: charge you for this.
- 38:03Speaker 5: What was your break to get into comedy, to become
- 38:06Speaker 5: like still waiting on it.
- 38:08Speaker 7: I tell you what I'm saying though, like them days
- 38:12Speaker 7: as breaks is you create the breaks, right, there's no
- 38:14Speaker 7: more to me.
- 38:15Speaker 4: My idea of a break, that's when you get a
- 38:18Speaker 4: ridiculous amount of money for some shit you've been doing. Anyway,
- 38:21Speaker 4: you've been getting doing movies, a little independent shit, you know,
- 38:25Speaker 4: people talk about it, play it on BT, and then
- 38:28Speaker 4: you hit them there and they give you a fifty pack,
- 38:30Speaker 4: just fifty m Yeah, that's your big break, getting another job.
- 38:35Speaker 4: Ain't no fucking break. Congratulations. Auditioned full times for this ship.
- 38:40Speaker 4: Ain't no congratulations. God didn't have that. Wasn't God blessing me.
- 38:44Speaker 4: And if they would, they would have just called me
- 38:45Speaker 4: and told me I was on that. Yeah, to create
- 38:48Speaker 4: the break, you got to create that ship. Man.
- 38:51Speaker 6: What I'm saying is these these days, it's easy because
- 38:53Speaker 6: there's no gatekeeping.
- 38:55Speaker 7: Like they can't until they like gate keep the Internet,
- 38:57Speaker 7: which that may happen.
- 38:59Speaker 4: Brot rely sat here and watched somebody create their own
- 39:03Speaker 4: destiny right in front of us. It's this lady you
- 39:05Speaker 4: probably seen on HBO. Her name is Easter Ray. She
- 39:08Speaker 4: started YouTube with no followers, that's a fact, and made
- 39:13Speaker 4: videos and said this is gonna be this is going
- 39:16Speaker 4: to be your next favorite show. She five seasons up
- 39:20Speaker 4: the end of day, come on, five seasons up. You
- 39:25Speaker 4: think she would have ever thought of her wildest dream
- 39:27Speaker 4: that she could one day be making the decision to
- 39:29Speaker 4: be like, I don't want to do my show on
- 39:31Speaker 4: HBO no more. If you would have told her that
- 39:34Speaker 4: six years ago, she would have been like, come on, man,
- 39:37Speaker 4: uploaded this video right quick.
- 39:38Speaker 5: I remember Tyler Perry when he was doing the plays,
- 39:41Speaker 5: like going to like you know, like the Beacon Theater
- 39:44Speaker 5: and like doing plays and things of that nature.
- 39:46Speaker 4: And I remember that.
- 39:47Speaker 5: And now he's running the world, got his own compass.
- 39:50Speaker 4: Man, got the whole fucking studio. Studio is making movies
- 40:01Speaker 4: that no, nigga. He got a whole side of Atlanta.
- 40:04Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, you can see it all that whole exit.
- 40:07Speaker 3: That's what I said when when we was driving, I'm like,
- 40:09Speaker 3: yo's he has an exit. It says Tyler Perry Studios.
- 40:12Speaker 3: That that's the exit.
- 40:13Speaker 7: Man.
- 40:13Speaker 4: That's different. Tyler Perry got a whole city out there.
- 40:16Speaker 4: If you ain't never been, go look at the buildings. Man,
- 40:18Speaker 4: that man got twenty big his buildings with fifteen studios
- 40:21Speaker 4: in there. He got offices, he got man everything.
- 40:25Speaker 3: He turned his whole set during COVID into a hotel
- 40:28Speaker 3: for people to live so they can keep filming exactly.
- 40:31Speaker 3: He created his own bubble man crazy, got the.
- 40:34Speaker 7: Whole ecosystem up. You don't have to participate in Hollywood.
- 40:38Speaker 4: He does not. I can't wait for him to call
- 40:40Speaker 4: me to be in one of the movies so you
- 40:42Speaker 4: can put one of them stupid as wigs on. Tyler
- 40:46Speaker 4: Perry get my character, and he said, put that little
- 40:51Speaker 4: strig up the.
- 40:55Speaker 3: I feel like I feel like black comedians, especially the
- 40:57Speaker 3: ones at the highest level.
- 40:58Speaker 4: I'm talking about like a dress in a way. I'm
- 41:00Speaker 4: talking about the dress when you do the character. And
- 41:03Speaker 4: he say, hey man, this is seventies piece. I need
- 41:05Speaker 4: you the wed in the afro. But how this ship
- 41:07Speaker 4: don't look good on camera? It's all good, man, trust
- 41:09Speaker 4: me on this. I got the vision. I'm gonna do it.
- 41:12Speaker 5: How you feel about that, though, because that's a big
- 41:14Speaker 5: thing for black comics. Dave Chappelle full on the sword
- 41:18Speaker 5: with that, like wearing that dress and how you feel
- 41:21Speaker 5: about that?
- 41:22Speaker 4: Peanis you mean how I feel about that. You're about
- 41:24Speaker 4: to set me up them people on my past sol
- 41:28Speaker 4: you're saying you can't nobody to wear dresses?
- 41:32Speaker 3: Man, you do whatever about were watching it?
- 41:34Speaker 4: Man, if any comedians out there do whatever you comfortable doing,
- 41:38Speaker 4: I ain't. You ain't never let me now, you ain't
- 41:41Speaker 4: never let me down.
- 41:42Speaker 7: Man, Follow your.
- 41:45Speaker 4: Spirit, Follow your spirit, nigga. Nigga's been putting dresses on
- 41:49Speaker 4: fifty years now. It's NaN's fucked up. When it's my
- 41:52Speaker 4: turn to blow up. Nigga. All your favorite niggas don't
- 41:56Speaker 4: warre dress, But what if that's the only way to
- 41:59Speaker 4: get you check right here, nigga put that motherfucker boost.
- 42:06Speaker 3: Big Mama South seven Tennis.
- 42:11Speaker 4: Not me, but somebody gonna do it. Yeah, yeah, Yeah,
- 42:14Speaker 4: somebody gonna do it. Bro. I'm telling I don't want
- 42:16Speaker 4: it that bad. That's just me personally though, I don't
- 42:19Speaker 4: want it. That's what I was saying. I'm like, I
- 42:20Speaker 4: couldn't see you now you couldn't. I'm nah, that ain't me.
- 42:24Speaker 4: That ain't that ain't for me. Bro. They got other
- 42:25Speaker 4: nigga who would be way better in a dress. I'm
- 42:27Speaker 4: talking about these niggas do this ship for free? Why
- 42:30Speaker 4: would you want me? Like you should get somebody who
- 42:32Speaker 4: got practice doing that ship? Bro, you don't want me
- 42:35Speaker 4: doing that ship. I gotta figure this out of them
- 42:36Speaker 4: all uncomfortable and ship. Let a nigga who do that
- 42:40Speaker 4: do that. I'm not the one you need for that role.
- 42:43Speaker 4: Trust me. I'll take the other roll. What a nigga
- 42:46Speaker 4: gets shot in? Open the credits, give me your he
- 42:49Speaker 4: ain't see me.
- 42:50Speaker 8: I was riding it. I was riding it, opening credits.
- 42:54Speaker 8: Nigga in the dress. He wouldn't ship, I know, but
- 42:56Speaker 8: you see it the way I died up, that's acting. They
- 43:01Speaker 8: don't need me.
- 43:02Speaker 4: For the dress party. There you have it.
- 43:05Speaker 5: But podcast network, how that? How did that come about?
- 43:11Speaker 5: Producing shows to people?
- 43:12Speaker 4: Now?
- 43:12Speaker 7: Oh yeah, yah yeah, it's that was lost as idea.
- 43:14Speaker 7: I'd be lying if I say that was mine. One thing.
- 43:17Speaker 4: I just love this nigga. He never thought. It's crazy.
- 43:21Speaker 3: Every time we try to give loose credit like yo,
- 43:24Speaker 3: be talking to y'all game like, don't be telling him
- 43:25Speaker 3: every day like yo, he said, like this guy is on.
- 43:29Speaker 4: We talked. We literally talked, man, Like I know. I
- 43:32Speaker 4: called him three times a day at least he called
- 43:34Speaker 4: me at least two or three times a day because
- 43:36Speaker 4: we always bounce the ship back and fortheah.
- 43:38Speaker 3: Were about to create a new group chat yeah please
- 43:41Speaker 3: we got we got, we got you.
- 43:43Speaker 4: Bro's going crazy some options. Pa, y'all on the club ship?
- 43:47Speaker 4: No no, no, no not sometimes I'm not shouty. That's
- 43:50Speaker 4: shotty be on that a little bit.
- 43:51Speaker 7: I don't understand it.
- 43:52Speaker 4: House. Yeah, it's like the party lines. Remember the party
- 43:55Speaker 4: lines in the nineties. He was little, he was young man.
- 43:58Speaker 4: Party line used to be able to pick up your
- 44:00Speaker 4: phone and it'd be like your house phone it nah,
- 44:04Speaker 4: that's what was the cold part about it, Like people
- 44:06Speaker 4: who lived out in storal areas and shit, just pick
- 44:09Speaker 4: up the phone. Like you can just literally just pick
- 44:11Speaker 4: up your phone, and that's weird. You remember that fast?
- 44:17Speaker 4: I remember Likedma had it at her house and we
- 44:19Speaker 4: lead the phone up the hook. Sometimes it would never
- 44:21Speaker 4: make that luck. It'd just be like hello, I damn sure.

- 47:19Speaker 7: Bro.
- 47:19Speaker 4: I'm now. I remember when everybody first started switching the
- 47:22Speaker 4: cordless phones. Oh, that was the biggest flix ever. Nigga.
- 47:26Speaker 4: Don't let a nigga had a coller. You had to
- 47:29Speaker 4: come down the streeten me that you had the rope
- 47:33Speaker 4: that stretch from the kitchen to the living room.
- 47:35Speaker 3: Yeah, you use that phone when the coil is phone
- 47:37Speaker 3: that Yeah, hold on, I switched bring the phone from
- 47:41Speaker 3: the kitchen all the way to the back of the house.
- 47:43Speaker 4: Country ship.
- 47:45Speaker 7: What I'm saying, Oh, I was gonna say, I'm probably
- 47:47Speaker 7: not gonna get it.
- 47:49Speaker 4: Yeah, A real talkative type of person.
- 47:52Speaker 3: Yeah, he said, he said no to this. I said, no,
- 47:54Speaker 3: you gotta do it.
- 47:54Speaker 4: I told him to you better bring your ass over there.
- 47:58Speaker 4: So Los, it was your idea to start other people. Well,
- 48:02Speaker 4: I had a few friends and that like kept hitting me,
- 48:04Speaker 4: and they was like, you know, they was asking me
- 48:07Speaker 4: without you know, necessarily asking for help. You get what
- 48:11Speaker 4: I'm saying. And it's like sometimes you just see some
- 48:15Speaker 4: shit like like Chad said, you see some shit that
- 48:17Speaker 4: don't don't require you to fuck with it, you know
- 48:21Speaker 4: what I'm saying, It's like that shit is already good
- 48:23Speaker 4: as it is. I like that, Like, this is some
- 48:27Speaker 4: shit that I could see myself consuming. So that's why
- 48:30Speaker 4: I was like, bro, maybe maybe we could use our
- 48:32Speaker 4: infrastructure for some of these. You know, we know the
- 48:36Speaker 4: process of how to get this, so you know, we
- 48:39Speaker 4: turned this down, but this might actually be suitable for that.
- 48:43Speaker 4: But this may work if they had this exposure. And
- 48:47Speaker 4: it's all about those little tweaks, Like it's not about
- 48:50Speaker 4: trying to make nobody fake shit. So sometimes you run
- 48:54Speaker 4: across some shit that you can actually fuck with and
- 48:58Speaker 4: you can actually help then for.
- 49:00Speaker 6: Us as a as a company too, We've we've always
- 49:05Speaker 6: built this as a media company, and the podcast was
- 49:08Speaker 6: the first IP or property that you saw come from
- 49:11Speaker 6: the media. But it took us, you know, four or
- 49:14Speaker 6: five years to get comfortable in creating a template for that.
- 49:16Speaker 7: So now that we've you know, five years later.
- 49:19Speaker 6: We can say, hey man, this is this is where
- 49:21Speaker 6: you are, this is the clay that you are. Let
- 49:23Speaker 6: us help mold you, but we can show you the
- 49:25Speaker 6: way and you'll get there much faster now.
- 49:26Speaker 4: I'm glad.
- 49:27Speaker 5: I'm glad you said that because I remember one of
- 49:29Speaker 5: the things that you you said to me that really
- 49:30Speaker 5: stuck out is when we first met, right, you said, Yo,
- 49:34Speaker 5: stop calling your show a podcast.
- 49:36Speaker 6: Right, don't do that, and that's how they devalue you.
- 49:38Speaker 6: You could have podcast over there, here's ten dollars. Like, Bro,
- 49:41Speaker 6: it's a whole production. These people we pay.
- 49:44Speaker 5: And you was like, yo, we call an eighty five
- 49:46Speaker 5: South show. And then after I told Mike, I said, yo,
- 49:48Speaker 5: take podcasts of everything that we have never have podcasts anything.
- 49:52Speaker 5: And then game I said podcast and things like why
- 49:55Speaker 5: are you calling your show a podcast? I thought it
- 49:56Speaker 5: was a show, And I'm like, Yo, that's a that's
- 49:59Speaker 5: a reminder. So talk about that a little bit like
- 50:02Speaker 5: early on branding it not for podcasters out there.
- 50:05Speaker 6: But bro, it's back to like, Okay, when I was
- 50:07Speaker 6: working for Steve, obviously you see family few, you see
- 50:11Speaker 6: talk showing, et cetera. But you didn't know he had
- 50:13Speaker 6: like eight minute clips that was on Facebook. That's a
- 50:16Speaker 6: whole nother level of content that people are putting their
- 50:18Speaker 6: eyeballs to. So since there's eyeballs, there's dollars attached to it,
- 50:24Speaker 6: like I'm watching baseball. I watched baseball playoffs on Twitter
- 50:27Speaker 6: and that's when I realized, Yo, they don't even know
- 50:29Speaker 6: how to gauge eyeballs anymore because Nielsen only reports on television.
- 50:34Speaker 6: But bro, people are watching TV on YouTube, they watching
- 50:37Speaker 6: on their phone, they watching on the iPad, they watching
- 50:38Speaker 6: in their cars, they watching at the airport, they're watching
- 50:41Speaker 6: it on the airplane.
- 50:43Speaker 7: Content is content and our eyeballs, like we are media minds.
- 50:47Speaker 6: Your average consumer, just like I want to watch something,
- 50:49Speaker 6: they don't know where it's coming from. So I'm saying
- 50:51Speaker 6: that to say, if eighty five South Media is the
- 50:54Speaker 6: company we get out the eighty five South Show, that's
- 50:57Speaker 6: just one thing that we produce. The tours a whole
- 51:00Speaker 6: separate experience. And now we're rolling out more shows, more podcasts.
- 51:04Speaker 6: So when they know when I come to the eighty
- 51:05Speaker 6: five South Media production or company or network, I know
- 51:09Speaker 6: that this speaks to me. This community speaks to me,
- 51:13Speaker 6: you know. So that's what made it easy for us.
- 51:15Speaker 6: We understood that we were a company first, even like
- 51:17Speaker 6: with like we don't treat like fly and those don't
- 51:20Speaker 6: act like talent. They're executives that are producing this show.
- 51:25Speaker 6: I just happen to be talent and executive on this
- 51:27Speaker 6: side so that the people on the other side they
- 51:30Speaker 6: know how to talk. This is los isn't a talent
- 51:32Speaker 6: that's tripping. This is a producer that understands this format.
- 51:35Speaker 6: This is an executive that can speak on behalf of
- 51:37Speaker 6: a company.
- 51:38Speaker 4: And that was one thing that I was going to
- 51:40Speaker 4: make sure that I told to you know, the people
- 51:42Speaker 4: who listen, you know, people who want to get into
- 51:44Speaker 4: podcast space or the digital space period is the fine
- 51:48Speaker 4: find a mediator. You gotta find somebody like Chad who
- 51:51Speaker 4: doesn't mind taking phone calls all day, or who you know,
- 51:55Speaker 4: can execute and follow up and get there before the
- 51:59Speaker 4: talent gets there. Like you need a team around. It
- 52:01Speaker 4: ain't necessarily got to be Hey, that's that's the dude,
- 52:04Speaker 4: and I pay him. That don't change shit, Like you
- 52:06Speaker 4: could be paying the motherfucker. But like, do they care
- 52:09Speaker 4: about the integrity of what you're about to do? Like
- 52:12Speaker 4: people have to put more integrity into the work because
- 52:15Speaker 4: at the end of the day, you don't want your
- 52:16Speaker 4: shit to be just some shit that was thrown together
- 52:19Speaker 4: and then you see some nice shit and be like,
- 52:21Speaker 4: we need to do that. It's too late at that point,
- 52:24Speaker 4: by the time you realize where you've been fucking up at,
- 52:27Speaker 4: it's too late.
- 52:28Speaker 6: Yeah, and you know it's funny piggyback, piggybacking off of
- 52:31Speaker 6: what he said for the longest, just just because of
- 52:34Speaker 6: the nature of our relationship we have like a big
- 52:37Speaker 6: brother little brother relationship. Everybody was like, yo, you need
- 52:40Speaker 6: to be his manager. Losi be like, bro, I can't.
- 52:43Speaker 7: We can't.
- 52:44Speaker 6: You can't work for me and I can't work for
- 52:45Speaker 6: you because we'll never be on the same page.
- 52:48Speaker 7: This is ours.
- 52:49Speaker 6: We're both gonna treat this with the same integrity, the
- 52:52Speaker 6: same respect, the same love because it's ours.
- 52:54Speaker 4: I told this nigga for three years. I said, you
- 52:56Speaker 4: don't want to work for me, you want to work
- 52:59Speaker 4: with with me? I tell him, the man, no stop. Yeah,
- 53:05Speaker 4: you big than this, sir. You bid me. You can
- 53:09Speaker 4: be anything you want to be. I just don't want
- 53:12Speaker 4: to see you out here being my manager.
- 53:14Speaker 3: So y'all got any South eighty five South Media, But
- 53:17Speaker 3: you also got some other ventures, man, and I want
- 53:19Speaker 3: to I want to highlight that and tell me how
- 53:21Speaker 3: the venture came about.
- 53:22Speaker 4: Good days since I don't get it. That was in
- 53:25Speaker 4: again again.
- 53:26Speaker 7: Look, let's take up teen years old. Me and Loss
- 53:30Speaker 7: work together.
- 53:30Speaker 6: I go to school and I come back for the
- 53:32Speaker 6: summer because I was playing ball, but I was injured
- 53:34Speaker 6: all time, and I was ready trying to figure out life.
- 53:36Speaker 6: I was like, Bro, I can get you a job.
- 53:38Speaker 6: He got me another job. So Loos has been giving
- 53:40Speaker 6: me jobs for a very long time. Like I can't
- 53:42Speaker 6: even act like man. That's like I'm telling people like,
- 53:46Speaker 6: this is my partner, and I got no problem giving
- 53:49Speaker 6: credit to where it's due. It's not hard for me.
- 53:51Speaker 6: But the candle thing lost is in the candles bro. Like,
- 53:54Speaker 6: that's not a joke, unfortunately, joke. I PO box is
- 53:57Speaker 6: sixty eight percent candles.
- 53:58Speaker 4: Bro.
- 53:59Speaker 7: People sending us all kind of smell and them I'm like,
- 54:02Speaker 7: I'm glad you said it, because when they hear.
- 54:06Speaker 6: Of no ingredients on this, we don't know what people
- 54:09Speaker 6: don't put in it. But this dude gonna take it
- 54:10Speaker 6: and try them all out. I got a confession.
- 54:12Speaker 4: I gotta this is one of my one one of
- 54:15Speaker 4: those entertainer guilty pleasures. I love when people send us
- 54:18Speaker 4: ship to the po box. We got some of the
- 54:21Speaker 4: dopest fans. They send us all kinds of ship. They
- 54:24Speaker 4: sent us socks, shoes, candles, But candles have always been
- 54:28Speaker 4: my thing. And then I was online. I did this
- 54:31Speaker 4: thing on Twitter where I said, I like, every like
- 54:33Speaker 4: once a month, every so often, I'll do a black
- 54:36Speaker 4: business thread. So I have people send their business and
- 54:41Speaker 4: then you know how to buy, how to purchase or websites,
- 54:44Speaker 4: and I buy a bunch of ship. But then it's
- 54:46Speaker 4: like and then I realized, I can't be giving all
- 54:48Speaker 4: these people my address. So I started having them all
- 54:51Speaker 4: this ship to the po box. So then I noticed
- 54:53Speaker 4: I was like, chad Man, where my candles at? He
- 54:56Speaker 4: was like, oh yeah, my lady took him. I was
- 55:00Speaker 4: still touching. Yeah.
- 55:04Speaker 6: So so so basically somebody submitted something that lost love.
- 55:07Speaker 6: He actually did his own collaboration with him, and he
- 55:10Speaker 6: wanted to get serious about the business. He was like, bro,
- 55:12Speaker 6: go go bet this out. So we vetted it out,
- 55:15Speaker 6: you know, put some things in order. Yeah, and then
- 55:18Speaker 6: even we was like let's source it, like, like, let's
- 55:19Speaker 6: send it out to a cold people said that we
- 55:21Speaker 6: never get bad responses. When people get the candles, they
- 55:24Speaker 6: post they want more. Right, he was like, y'all, I
- 55:26Speaker 6: think this can be something leg let's jump into it.
- 55:28Speaker 4: So it was so it was an existing company already.
- 55:31Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, like I'm very small small.
- 55:34Speaker 6: It's a young It's a young man by the name
- 55:36Speaker 6: of Jeremy Brooks. He's an entrepreneur. He's a hustler, he y'all.
- 55:39Speaker 6: A matter of fact, he.
- 55:40Speaker 4: Hit me up in the DM. I was like, yo, bro,
- 55:42Speaker 4: I'm like this cannel right now.
- 55:44Speaker 6: One And he came to what's dope is people come
- 55:47Speaker 6: to me and lost all the time.
- 55:48Speaker 4: With business like this.
- 55:49Speaker 6: Yeah, and I'm not a serial entrepreneur. Yeah he is,
- 55:52Speaker 6: like he wanted to get invested in.
- 55:55Speaker 3: Yeah, but we talked about that.
- 55:58Speaker 4: But he came.
- 55:58Speaker 6: He was like, yo, I got the pride I got
- 56:00Speaker 6: like he was breaking it down. He flew into Atlanta
- 56:03Speaker 6: on his own dime, sat.
- 56:04Speaker 7: With us what he was at the CREB about four
- 56:06Speaker 7: five hours.
- 56:06Speaker 6: This is what I want to do this year. I
- 56:08Speaker 6: want to do this next year. I saw I see
- 56:10Speaker 6: us in five years. Is this is your part of
- 56:13Speaker 6: what I need from you, Chatt is what I need
- 56:14Speaker 6: from you?
- 56:15Speaker 7: And that was it. I just need X y Z y'all.
- 56:17Speaker 7: In so like nobody's ever come.
- 56:20Speaker 4: I'm glad you said that had no choice.
- 56:21Speaker 5: That brings up a good point because it happens all
- 56:22Speaker 5: the time when people come to managers or financial advisors
- 56:26Speaker 5: of a celebrity, right and they pitch ideas. It happens
- 56:29Speaker 5: very frequently and a lot of times they get shot down.
- 56:33Speaker 5: So people pitch you ideas a lot of times. What
- 56:37Speaker 5: makes a good pitch and what makes a bad pitch
- 56:40Speaker 5: for just people entrepreneurs that might not know like they think, like, yo,
- 56:44Speaker 5: listen to my CD.
- 56:45Speaker 4: Like they're saying, like, what's what do you want to see?
- 56:47Speaker 4: What you don't want to see? This is one thing
- 56:49Speaker 4: I've learned about shit like that, whether it be music,
- 56:51Speaker 4: candles or anything. Anybody who's trying to get you to
- 56:55Speaker 4: buy into what they're selling. It's like, if you can
- 56:58Speaker 4: see the passion in this person, and you can see
- 57:01Speaker 4: like if you did this by yourself with no financial backing,
- 57:05Speaker 4: it's just ideas, and you actually have something that you
- 57:08Speaker 4: could physically put in people's hands. That's half the battle
- 57:11Speaker 4: right there. Everybody got a million dollar ideas. Anybody can
- 57:15Speaker 4: talk your head off, but it's the execution when you
- 57:17Speaker 4: can put some shit from your mind to a piece
- 57:20Speaker 4: of paper to the physical, physical world that makes people
- 57:23Speaker 4: believe in you. And then when they see, oh that
- 57:25Speaker 4: ain't just the dude who I saw hustling T shirts
- 57:28Speaker 4: over that nigga he over here, he be over there,
- 57:31Speaker 4: he like you see it in some people's eyes that
- 57:34Speaker 4: theyre going to be successful with or without you. And
- 57:37Speaker 4: a lot of times, a lot of times chat to
- 57:39Speaker 4: tell you, people when they come to us, they don't
- 57:41Speaker 4: ask us for money or shit up front. They want
- 57:44Speaker 4: to be in the network. They want to be exposed
- 57:46Speaker 4: to the people that were exposed to you get what
- 57:48Speaker 4: I'm saying. So it's like sometimes a lot of these
- 57:51Speaker 4: people who come up with ideas and they want to
- 57:54Speaker 4: do collapse and stuff like that. We try to see
- 57:56Speaker 4: what have you done by yourself? What can you put
- 58:00Speaker 4: in my hand? So when we asked you to send
- 58:02Speaker 4: some how long is it gonna take? Like can we
- 58:04Speaker 4: fly you here? Will will you show up? It's like
- 58:07Speaker 4: there's been so many people that we've come across with
- 58:10Speaker 4: great products, of great ideas, but it's like they follow
- 58:13Speaker 4: up and they do not talk to people, or they
- 58:15Speaker 4: work when they want to work. They let orders pile up.
- 58:17Speaker 4: They'll send them out. I'll do it when I get fifty.
- 58:20Speaker 4: What about the people who've been waiting two weeks? You
- 58:23Speaker 4: know what I'm saying, what's your follow up? Like? Where
- 58:25Speaker 4: your determination? What's your passion?
- 58:27Speaker 3: That was one of the things that that Chad was
- 58:28Speaker 3: speaking us when he was talking about YO and rebranding
- 58:31Speaker 3: the merch and we were talking aout, Yeah, were trying
- 58:32Speaker 3: to do the same thing. It's like, there's a fine balance.
- 58:34Speaker 3: You don't want to have too much and then you
- 58:36Speaker 3: don't sell it, and you don't want to have too
- 58:38Speaker 3: you don't want to have enough, and then you sell
- 58:40Speaker 3: out and people still want their things, and so there's
- 58:42Speaker 3: a fine balance. I'm wanna go back to the part
- 58:44Speaker 3: when you're talking about being a serve serial entrepreneur. When
- 58:48Speaker 3: people present the business ideas, are we looking at this
- 58:51Speaker 3: first ass eighty five South media or we're saying.
- 58:53Speaker 4: Like I always try to catch the eighty five South
- 58:55Speaker 4: separate because I was like, nobody wants to be signed
- 58:59Speaker 4: to you give you what I'm saying. They want to
- 59:02Speaker 4: they want to be on the level, but the don't
- 59:04Speaker 4: nobody want you to tell them what to do. And
- 59:06Speaker 4: I'm the type of person in Chad we're so busy.
- 59:08Speaker 4: It's not like we don't want to take your ship
- 59:10Speaker 4: from you. You don't want to own your company. But
- 59:13Speaker 4: if I spend some money with you, I need to
- 59:14Speaker 4: know that it was it's gonna be some kind of
- 59:17Speaker 4: return with If I give you a thousand dollars and
- 59:19Speaker 4: you give me one thousand and five, I need to
- 59:21Speaker 4: I want to see that. Men, you made five dollars together.
- 59:25Speaker 4: You give what I'm saying, It's not about the amount,
- 59:27Speaker 4: It's about like, nigga, is it gonna be worth it?
- 59:30Speaker 4: I could take I could take two weeks to fuck
- 59:32Speaker 4: with you three or whatever it is that you need.
- 59:34Speaker 4: But it's like what we're doing this for you? Geel?
- 59:37Speaker 4: What I mean? Like I could call some people that
- 59:39Speaker 4: might write you a check, but they gonna want they ship.
- 59:42Speaker 4: They gonna want to see what they check went to.
- 59:44Speaker 7: Right. Yeah, there's there's there's people that I would I would.
- 59:49Speaker 7: I would tell you like this.
- 59:51Speaker 6: I believe in servicing first, you know. I believe in
- 59:53Speaker 6: trying to do for somebody before you ask for something,
- 59:57Speaker 6: you know. And I don't really like people having too
- 59:59Speaker 6: many favors over them my head, so I try to
- 1:00:01Speaker 6: be so insulated and so independent that I ain't got
- 1:00:03Speaker 6: to ask for nothing.
- 1:00:04Speaker 4: Right, And that's what we try to push to these people.
- 1:00:07Speaker 4: You don't want us to come through and rebrand your
- 1:00:09Speaker 4: ship and make it hours or be a part of this.
- 1:00:11Speaker 4: We want to see you stand alone and say if
- 1:00:14Speaker 4: it means more to me to say I helped you
- 1:00:16Speaker 4: than to pose it, you know, like I owned your shit.
- 1:00:18Speaker 6: Yeah, we have no desire to put people in these
- 1:00:21Speaker 6: deals where they can't live.
- 1:00:23Speaker 4: That's well, man, they got all the money. I'm not
- 1:00:25Speaker 4: trying to I don't do nothing from you, but.
- 1:00:28Speaker 6: I look at it like so like the business side
- 1:00:31Speaker 6: of it is the genius. Thing I learned from Steve
- 1:00:33Speaker 6: Harvey was simple bro. When I was working for him,
- 1:00:36Speaker 6: he had a radio.
- 1:00:37Speaker 7: Station that touched seven million people.
- 1:00:39Speaker 6: So but if you look at his resume, he's got
- 1:00:42Speaker 6: highest rated shows. He's got movies that have gone you know,
- 1:00:46Speaker 6: box office hits. He's got books at are number one
- 1:00:48Speaker 6: best sellers. He understood his community and he just kept
- 1:00:51Speaker 6: serving his community through books, through audio, through movies, through film,
- 1:00:55Speaker 6: through television. So you don't have to go out there
- 1:00:57Speaker 6: and do that extra stuff. If you got to insulate
- 1:00:59Speaker 6: it ecosystem like my woman loves candles, you know, we
- 1:01:04Speaker 6: love everybody loves candles.
- 1:01:06Speaker 7: Why don't we get why don't we have our own
- 1:01:07Speaker 7: candle company?
- 1:01:07Speaker 6: And I'm at the point now I'm just trying to
- 1:01:09Speaker 6: replace all the stuff I spend money, you know, right,
- 1:01:12Speaker 6: So that's that's really what it comes down to me.
- 1:01:14Speaker 4: I mean, especially when you're in the business of sales,
- 1:01:17Speaker 4: like people always want to find the next big thing,
- 1:01:20Speaker 4: like what would you spend your money? You know what
- 1:01:22Speaker 4: I'm saying, Like we're looking around your house, what are
- 1:01:25Speaker 4: you buying? Over and over and over.
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: Now now I'm going back to thinking about being at
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: the studio eighty five vibe.
- 1:01:32Speaker 4: Is this where? Yeah, so that I don't take this out,
- 1:01:36Speaker 4: Like when we're all together and we're traveling, we all
- 1:01:39Speaker 4: want to be like, man, you heard this, we all.
- 1:01:40Speaker 7: Put it appens all the time.
- 1:01:43Speaker 4: I remember when our Lennox album came, I may everybody
- 1:01:45Speaker 4: listen to it. I'm talking about all them twenty people.
- 1:01:48Speaker 4: I'm talking I literally made everybody.
- 1:01:50Speaker 7: Dude call it nine and the more, like, hey, what's up, bro?
- 1:01:52Speaker 7: You got any updates?
- 1:01:53Speaker 4: Now? What's up?
- 1:01:54Speaker 7: Make sure you listen to the album? Right, I'm like,
- 1:01:58Speaker 7: it's nine a m bro. I'm gonna get to listen.
- 1:02:00Speaker 4: To the jazzon Sullivan joint. Yeah, not the whole album.
- 1:02:04Speaker 4: Just sorry. She didn't block me. She didn't block unto
- 1:02:11Speaker 4: me because I got into an argument with Little Twists
- 1:02:14Speaker 4: about who was the big Yes, me and Little Twist
- 1:02:18Speaker 4: was arguing about who is the biggest Ari Lennox fan
- 1:02:21Speaker 4: on her laugh one day, and she unfollowed both of us.
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: She's such an aries good song and a great album.
- 1:02:33Speaker 7: We really want you on a vibe if you watch it.
- 1:02:34Speaker 4: So so that came about of our love for music
- 1:02:37Speaker 4: and weirdo stuff, and we figured we have the platform,
- 1:02:43Speaker 4: we have the infrastructure less and then we got d
- 1:02:46Speaker 4: C who makes dope ass music. We got Chico who
- 1:02:49Speaker 4: Chico makes dope music. Ain't nobody heard it, but he
- 1:02:52Speaker 4: got some dope ship and he does. He got a
- 1:02:58Speaker 4: few joints that he just did. You know, in his
- 1:03:00Speaker 4: leisure he could just go perform that bust the rhymes
- 1:03:02Speaker 4: versus and he will. I don't think he won't. So look,
- 1:03:06Speaker 4: we all got a love for music. That's why we
- 1:03:08Speaker 4: really get Yeah. But and like so like, if you
- 1:03:11Speaker 4: watch it was always weird for me. You watch what's
- 1:03:14Speaker 4: that show? Tiny desk concert.
- 1:03:16Speaker 6: Yeah, you got somebody like all right Lennox or Ericabadu,
- 1:03:18Speaker 6: But you look into the audience and you like, Okay,
- 1:03:22Speaker 6: they're not really their fan base.
- 1:03:24Speaker 7: You know, it's just weird, you know.
- 1:03:27Speaker 6: So how do we create something because production is important,
- 1:03:31Speaker 6: Like it's easy for y'all to do y'all show because
- 1:03:33Speaker 6: your director is black, audio is black, your business partners
- 1:03:36Speaker 6: are black.
- 1:03:37Speaker 7: That gives you a level of comfort.
- 1:03:38Speaker 6: It's no different than walking into class and you like
- 1:03:39Speaker 6: where the black people are or you're walking in the gym.
- 1:03:42Speaker 7: You're like, okay, there's black people. We straight comfort level community.
- 1:03:46Speaker 6: Right, So we wanted to create a show that felt
- 1:03:49Speaker 6: like unplugged our version of it. And what's dope is
- 1:03:52Speaker 6: you're gonna see young Droe and you also go and
- 1:03:55Speaker 6: see a new up and coming artist.
- 1:03:56Speaker 7: And these are people that were.
- 1:03:59Speaker 6: A you're going see currency people that were act like
- 1:04:02Speaker 6: these people are in our playlist, these are people we're
- 1:04:04Speaker 6: really fans of. We want to celebrate music the way
- 1:04:06Speaker 6: we feel like it should be celebrated. And we didn't
- 1:04:08Speaker 6: want nobody to feel like you're a puppet, like, right.
- 1:04:10Speaker 4: We just dance for us. You know, came on eighty
- 1:04:14Speaker 4: Vibes and smashed it crazy.
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: That's crazy that we we were just speaking with Ryan Wilson,
- 1:04:19Speaker 3: pull it up. He's like, you gotta hit this guy.
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: You gotta hear this guy.
- 1:04:21Speaker 6: Yeah, they want Okay, but that's that And then and
- 1:04:25Speaker 6: then again Los and Chico and Fly They're not going
- 1:04:28Speaker 6: to make anybody uncomfortable. We want to uplift you and
- 1:04:31Speaker 6: put you that. They're just throwing oops to all these
- 1:04:34Speaker 6: artists to make them comfortable. We don't want you to
- 1:04:36Speaker 6: feel like you're dancing on the table, bro. Like it'll
- 1:04:38Speaker 6: never be that for us.
- 1:04:39Speaker 4: Yeah. But like, we got a lot of people that
- 1:04:41Speaker 4: we know personally that are artist on that side of
- 1:04:44Speaker 4: music who wanted a platform. It was like, man, I
- 1:04:48Speaker 4: want to come. I want to come kick it with y'all.
- 1:04:50Speaker 4: I want to I want to get on the couch.
- 1:04:51Speaker 4: I want to you know what I mean. It's like, bro,
- 1:04:53Speaker 4: I'm gonna drop one of them songs or something. We
- 1:04:55Speaker 4: shut up. We got a band right here, so it
- 1:04:58Speaker 4: made sense to make sense.
- 1:05:00Speaker 7: But even with the band, like I go this year
- 1:05:02Speaker 7: is to rebrand them.
- 1:05:03Speaker 6: Is that our version of the roots, you know, so
- 1:05:06Speaker 6: we can do live albums with some of these artists.
- 1:05:08Speaker 6: We want to launch Eddy five South Records or whatever
- 1:05:10Speaker 6: we call it. Chico be the president of AT A
- 1:05:12Speaker 6: and R albums.
- 1:05:13Speaker 4: Don't give them too much los. How'd you get in
- 1:05:18Speaker 4: the stocks? How did I get into stocks? Let me
- 1:05:22Speaker 4: see the first well, my introduce my introduction to stocks
- 1:05:26Speaker 4: was the big coin boom. Yeah it was. It was
- 1:05:32Speaker 4: probably like at the end piece of sixteen though, because
- 1:05:36Speaker 4: my guy had been telling me, man, by this bout
- 1:05:38Speaker 4: these bodies, by these bodies, and I was like, all right,
- 1:05:41Speaker 4: So I bought a lot of it, and I was like,
- 1:05:43Speaker 4: oh ship. And then you remember that one day when
- 1:05:48Speaker 4: she just like when yeah, yeah, yeah. And I got
- 1:05:51Speaker 4: all my money out of it. Not all of it
- 1:05:53Speaker 4: I've lost, but I got I got the remaining money,
- 1:05:58Speaker 4: and I was like this, this is two volatile. This
- 1:06:01Speaker 4: is too quick. Whoa, this is quick. So I started
- 1:06:05Speaker 4: making like these uh. I got the Robinhood Joint and
- 1:06:09Speaker 4: I started just buying, like you know the ship that
- 1:06:11Speaker 4: of course that they are you should about stocking naked with,
- 1:06:16Speaker 4: you know, some lower end ship. And then I found
- 1:06:18Speaker 4: this it was like this mineral company. It was probably
- 1:06:22Speaker 4: like seven cents of Shire and then I bought a
- 1:06:26Speaker 4: gang of it, and then a year that ship shot
- 1:06:30Speaker 4: up so much. I ended up making about fifteen twenty
- 1:06:33Speaker 4: off of that, and I was like, moment of sound.
- 1:06:36Speaker 4: He just told us about some numbers. He never talks numbers.
- 1:06:39Speaker 4: This is old, but I'm saying just for me, like
- 1:06:42Speaker 4: with no knowledge, like not having to talk. It's just
- 1:06:46Speaker 4: like I'm gonna hurry up and cast this out. Because
- 1:06:48Speaker 4: this went from like a nine cents to niggas some rants,
- 1:06:54Speaker 4: so that that shit just went crazy, and I was like,
- 1:06:56Speaker 4: I'm in forever. So I you know, I took that
- 1:06:58Speaker 4: bread and I bought some Netflix and some Amazon to
- 1:07:02Speaker 4: google you know that the alphabet, and then I started
- 1:07:06Speaker 4: seeing like, okay, if you do this, oh so that's
- 1:07:10Speaker 4: what really So into twenty sixteen, how did that feel? Like?
- 1:07:15Speaker 5: Obviously I thought I was a genius, Like I'm buying
- 1:07:19Speaker 5: stocks and making money.
- 1:07:20Speaker 4: Ain't nobody told me? Shit? I thought I was a genius. Literally,
- 1:07:23Speaker 4: So I started getting education, checking out some podcasts and
- 1:07:28Speaker 4: start watching Shark Tank like crazy man anything with the money.
- 1:07:32Speaker 4: I started trying to get my my education up about
- 1:07:35Speaker 4: it because I always knew one day I wanted to
- 1:07:37Speaker 4: have a whole lot of it. And it's like I
- 1:07:39Speaker 4: needed to start building the house for it to live in.
- 1:07:42Speaker 4: So that's one Like people always talk about financial literacy, Man,
- 1:07:47Speaker 4: you got to be you have to know what to
- 1:07:49Speaker 4: do with the money when you get it, how to
- 1:07:51Speaker 4: spend it, how to invest it, what to spend it on.
- 1:07:55Speaker 4: And that's been my whole crash course with it, and
- 1:08:00Speaker 4: really had no normal you should do this, no inside
- 1:08:04Speaker 4: of trading and no ship a little bit of knowledge
- 1:08:08Speaker 4: that I did acquire and accumulate. I still function off
- 1:08:12Speaker 4: of it, but that was my introduction to it. They
- 1:08:14Speaker 4: fucked up when they let me make a return. Yeah,
- 1:08:19Speaker 4: because after I started, I was like, man, what they say?
- 1:08:24Speaker 4: These are the niggas who put the glue on the
- 1:08:26Speaker 4: on the fucking mass girl thing, and oh this company
- 1:08:29Speaker 4: gonna go. They sell They sell zimples in China and
- 1:08:32Speaker 4: shoe strings. I'll be being all kind of stupid ass
- 1:08:35Speaker 4: like niggas. I got it back, Q tips. People gonna
- 1:08:37Speaker 4: have ears. I gotta invest in Johnson and Johnson. Motherfuck
- 1:08:40Speaker 4: gonna have ears and feet forever. Babies are boring every day.
- 1:08:43Speaker 4: Johnson and Johnson cannot fail. Babies gotta wash their hair,
- 1:08:47Speaker 4: what they're gonna watch the baby with when it come
- 1:08:49Speaker 4: out of the couchure. Good point.
- 1:08:53Speaker 5: Now that's the fact. And that's something I said up
- 1:08:55Speaker 5: start show called market money Is. I said that like
- 1:08:58Speaker 5: it's addicting, Like you know what I'm saying, like when
- 1:09:00Speaker 5: you start to see some success in it.
- 1:09:01Speaker 4: And I got my money tied up in socks. Niggas
- 1:09:05Speaker 4: always gonna have feet, that's a fact. Socks, socks. I
- 1:09:08Speaker 4: got your South socks. You got trying to tell you.
- 1:09:16Speaker 4: I pushed to have eighty five South show. Everything from
- 1:09:20Speaker 4: styrofoam cups to socks, chia chains, panties, diapers, onesiest ash tray.
- 1:09:27Speaker 4: I'm always looking for somebody to make me a dope
- 1:09:29Speaker 4: ass tray. I want somebody make me a big ass
- 1:09:32Speaker 4: ass tray. Man. I'm tired of my ship knocking over
- 1:09:35Speaker 4: blunts lighters. It's just whatever it is that I need
- 1:09:41Speaker 4: or using my life, I want it. I want my
- 1:09:43Speaker 4: logo on it, just it. And it's just luckily I
- 1:09:47Speaker 4: had enough people that loved me and us to support
- 1:09:50Speaker 4: some of this ship. You know what I'm saying. That's
- 1:09:52Speaker 4: like the merch. You want to talk about the merch.
- 1:09:54Speaker 4: We always talk about the merch. That's been a whole
- 1:09:57Speaker 4: that ain't have shit to do with the podcast, Like
- 1:10:00Speaker 4: that was a whole crash course for everybody. Chance spent
- 1:10:02Speaker 4: a lot of a lot of countless nights trying to
- 1:10:05Speaker 4: figure that.
- 1:10:06Speaker 5: Chat talk about the merger because you helped us out.
- 1:10:08Speaker 5: You gave us some counsel with our merch. Merch is
- 1:10:10Speaker 5: something that's nice, easy as it look, it's extremely complicated.
- 1:10:14Speaker 5: It's a headache, it's a hassle. It can be extremely profitable,
- 1:10:19Speaker 5: extremely unprofitable. It's everything that's all the approach, emotional situation.
- 1:10:25Speaker 6: Well for UH merch. For us, it's like a two
- 1:10:28Speaker 6: part thing. The first two years it really kept us independent.
- 1:10:31Speaker 6: So you got to pay for Airbnb and traveling whatever
- 1:10:34Speaker 6: and pay people.
- 1:10:35Speaker 3: That's what it was for us. So low supplemental income.
- 1:10:38Speaker 6: Yeah, he he changed my mentality on it, like it's
- 1:10:41Speaker 6: another billboard for us.
- 1:10:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:10:43Speaker 6: So if somebody's wearing that hoodie, theyre going to ask
- 1:10:46Speaker 6: where you got it from, etceter.
- 1:10:47Speaker 4: And that comes from the comedy world, believe it or not,
- 1:10:49Speaker 4: because when you're an amateur comedian and you're taking shows
- 1:10:53Speaker 4: on the road, the way you supplement the income is
- 1:10:56Speaker 4: you sell merchant T shirts and DVDs, and you know
- 1:10:59Speaker 4: you want have to be that's your travel money, the
- 1:11:02Speaker 4: money that you hustled up off the hand to hand.
- 1:11:05Speaker 4: You don't never want to touch your show money or
- 1:11:07Speaker 4: the check that they wrote you. You always want to
- 1:11:09Speaker 4: make sure that this is where you're making, you're living
- 1:11:13Speaker 4: because this is your ain't no overhere. You bought all
- 1:11:16Speaker 4: this already. Whatever you spent on this merch or this
- 1:11:20Speaker 4: this hundred, these hundred CDs or these twenty T shirts, like,
- 1:11:24Speaker 4: that's the money that you're making.
- 1:11:26Speaker 7: Yeah, So the first two years it kind of funded
- 1:11:28Speaker 7: the scaling of the operation, if that makes it.
- 1:11:31Speaker 6: And I think I'd say about last year year before that,
- 1:11:33Speaker 6: we decided, let's make this. This needs to be another
- 1:11:36Speaker 6: line of business that you treat independently of the actual production.
- 1:11:41Speaker 6: So then when I started making the trips to La
- 1:11:44Speaker 6: understand and cutting soul fabric, ceter But we treat now
- 1:11:48Speaker 6: like as we're rebranding our merchandise right now, and our
- 1:11:51Speaker 6: goal is to be able to say once we're done
- 1:11:54Speaker 6: on the other side of it, give us about another month.
- 1:11:56Speaker 7: But the goal is to create the team to.
- 1:11:58Speaker 6: Where we have a creative director, got a brand director
- 1:12:01Speaker 6: in this line of business services eighty five South Show,
- 1:12:04Speaker 6: so that we can essentially service other clients because the
- 1:12:07Speaker 6: collaboration game is what they do is they'll give you
- 1:12:09Speaker 6: a check, then they'll mark up whatever.
- 1:12:12Speaker 7: Where I want to be able.
- 1:12:12Speaker 6: To says, hey, we'll pay wholesale, let us control the creative,
- 1:12:17Speaker 6: and then we'll do our own markups. So we're creating
- 1:12:19Speaker 6: our we'll call it, you know, eighty five apparel, merchandise,
- 1:12:22Speaker 6: design and creative to where if we got a binding
- 1:12:26Speaker 6: means project, there's a whole product line that comes with that.
- 1:12:28Speaker 6: If we got an eighty five project, there's product line
- 1:12:30Speaker 6: that comes with that. I look at us like, my
- 1:12:32Speaker 6: mentality is now we're somewhere between a mixture.
- 1:12:34Speaker 7: And master p and Walt Disney.
- 1:12:36Speaker 6: So if you look at everything that Disney does, they
- 1:12:39Speaker 6: got an idea IP, they put that in film or animation,
- 1:12:43Speaker 6: and now there's rides and there's toys, and there's merchandise.
- 1:12:45Speaker 4: Whole rollout.
- 1:12:46Speaker 6: It's a whole rollout, And this is a whole line
- 1:12:48Speaker 6: of business that lives separate of everything else, but it
- 1:12:51Speaker 6: lives under the umbrella of Disney, you know.
- 1:12:53Speaker 7: So that's how we look at merchandise.
- 1:12:55Speaker 6: Now it's a company that services eighty five South Show services,
- 1:12:58Speaker 6: Carlos Miller services you on fly.
- 1:13:01Speaker 4: And it's just phase one. Wait we figure it out.
- 1:13:03Speaker 7: What din't really what we want to be.
- 1:13:05Speaker 3: Is there a time when you decide like, all right,
- 1:13:07Speaker 3: now it's trying to rebrand or what what? What's the
- 1:13:09Speaker 3: determined the factor in the rebranding process.
- 1:13:12Speaker 7: For us, it was trademark.
- 1:13:13Speaker 4: Okay, yeah, we started jumping too hard and they was like,
- 1:13:17Speaker 4: hey man, that's how Tomahawk start.
- 1:13:20Speaker 7: Getting you know some of the some of y'all know,
- 1:13:23Speaker 7: like you can do some stuff domestically, but when you're
- 1:13:26Speaker 7: shipping some stuff from overseas, they got to go through
- 1:13:28Speaker 7: customs and yeah, they got to go through their scanning processing.
- 1:13:31Speaker 4: Yeah, but it's just feel good sometimes when you when
- 1:13:34Speaker 4: you know you're making waves and they say, hey man,
- 1:13:36Speaker 4: you go to sea and desists, we ain't gonna suit
- 1:13:38Speaker 4: you yet.
- 1:13:38Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:13:39Speaker 6: But then even if if you look at BT, we
- 1:13:41Speaker 6: put like a lot of those samples out there so
- 1:13:43Speaker 6: people can get a taste for it. Even though like
- 1:13:45Speaker 6: on a podcast of some of the stuff hanging up,
- 1:13:46Speaker 6: but COVID has slowed down. I'm sure y'all noticed, Like
- 1:13:48Speaker 6: it's from manufacturing to development to production and shipping. Bro,
- 1:13:52Speaker 6: it's been that right, then it's ahead.
- 1:13:56Speaker 7: You can do everything right and it still ain't right.
- 1:13:58Speaker 7: It doesn't.
- 1:13:59Speaker 4: You just got to rolla We're definitely gonna go head
- 1:14:04Speaker 4: first into that merch game. Like shout out to all
- 1:14:06Speaker 4: the eighty five percenters that have been supporting since the
- 1:14:08Speaker 4: first T shirt though. And it's like the push from
- 1:14:11Speaker 4: the fans when they come to your show and they like, man,
- 1:14:14Speaker 4: what else you got for Seale? I done bought everything? Man,
- 1:14:16Speaker 4: I was crazy. We ain't got I'm gonna buy four
- 1:14:19Speaker 4: more than bitches anyway. I mean it's like, yeah, because
- 1:14:23Speaker 4: people want that story that's attached to it, and they want,
- 1:14:26Speaker 4: like you said, they want to feel like they're a
- 1:14:27Speaker 4: part of your movement. So it ain't possible without them.
- 1:14:31Speaker 4: And we got bail fans and little followers that's been
- 1:14:34Speaker 4: pushing us and be like, hey, man, call my cousin. Man, Hey,
- 1:14:38Speaker 4: this dude right here can get you all these And
- 1:14:40Speaker 4: one dude was like, man, let me let me just
- 1:14:43Speaker 4: tell los. I'm gonna send him a whole I'm gonna
- 1:14:46Speaker 4: give him this old school if he just let me
- 1:14:48Speaker 4: sell the merch at my stir of Alabama. And I
- 1:14:52Speaker 4: was like what. He was like, Look, I'm gonna give
- 1:14:55Speaker 4: you the car, send me four boxes of hood. Understand me.
- 1:15:00Speaker 4: It's your car. I was like, did you send it
- 1:15:05Speaker 4: to him? I didn't because I didn't because I was
- 1:15:09Speaker 4: like I didn't want that on my contract because I
- 1:15:15Speaker 4: ain't want somebody to hit me. Two weeks later and like,
- 1:15:18Speaker 4: you did ass wrong for making that deal with my brother,
- 1:15:21Speaker 4: my uncle. You know, my brother crazy On gave you
- 1:15:25Speaker 4: my mama cor truy.
- 1:15:29Speaker 6: I'll say this too, dog, Like it's funny, like how
- 1:15:32Speaker 6: people receive master p now Like he's like they don't
- 1:15:35Speaker 6: know that he was really moving units people younger than us, right, So.
- 1:15:39Speaker 4: Things said they made four hundred million dollars in three years.
- 1:15:43Speaker 7: Like that's that. We can't even fathom that different level.
- 1:15:46Speaker 6: So loss thing is like, bro, we just doing We're
- 1:15:48Speaker 6: doing this out the trunk, but like in the digital space.
- 1:15:51Speaker 6: So he talks about product all the time, but he's
- 1:15:54Speaker 6: doing right or whatever. That's not sexy sometimes, but dog,
- 1:15:58Speaker 6: there's only so much work we can put in twenty
- 1:16:00Speaker 6: four hours.
- 1:16:00Speaker 4: One thing we know about pee if he's selling anything.
- 1:16:03Speaker 4: He's researched that this man selling rice and noodles. That
- 1:16:07Speaker 4: means that the rice and noodle game is a billion dollars.
- 1:16:12Speaker 4: If I jump in there and I make ten million.
- 1:16:15Speaker 8: Shit, I'm straight and I'm about to own it.
- 1:16:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:16:19Speaker 6: And so what I've also learned being in a lot
- 1:16:22Speaker 6: of these rooms that they don't deem you valuable enough
- 1:16:26Speaker 6: to be in, but you know you're in them now.
- 1:16:28Speaker 6: You learned that, like the game that they play is
- 1:16:31Speaker 6: they're looking at what runs the fastest, and they're playing
- 1:16:33Speaker 6: as many seeds as possible. So if you got ten
- 1:16:36Speaker 6: seeds playing it, one's going to be out of here.
- 1:16:38Speaker 6: Two of them gonna take their time, but eventually they
- 1:16:40Speaker 6: are all gonna sprout. So we got merchandise, we got ip,
- 1:16:44Speaker 6: we got product, We have a network and talent that
- 1:16:47Speaker 6: we're getting invested into, even real estate, and like all
- 1:16:51Speaker 6: this stuff raises everybody's value so that you you know,
- 1:16:55Speaker 6: when you sleep, merchandise is still doing what it's supposed
- 1:16:57Speaker 6: to do.
- 1:16:58Speaker 7: Yeah, you know what he's doing what he's supposed to do.
- 1:17:01Speaker 7: And then you learn the game.
- 1:17:02Speaker 4: I got some nice merchant, damn saying, uh, the tops
- 1:17:07Speaker 4: and bottoms ain't you'll be going home with them today.
- 1:17:13Speaker 4: I'm like quality man, some nice double double stitch and
- 1:17:16Speaker 4: you see that pops man shout out to the mercy.
- 1:17:19Speaker 4: Appreciated the whole operation. I know, I'm I'm familiar. I mean,
- 1:17:24Speaker 4: I know what goes on. We have a factory yet,
- 1:17:26Speaker 4: but you know, don't we want to We don't either.
- 1:17:29Speaker 4: We'll send something to the p O box. Please likes
- 1:17:34Speaker 4: me up. So what's what's what's next? What's what's the
- 1:17:36Speaker 4: vision for eighty five Media?
- 1:17:38Speaker 7: Which which allowed to actually say it? Or you want
- 1:17:40Speaker 7: me to give the.
- 1:17:42Speaker 4: Go ahead? Man, don't give them the sauce, just tell
- 1:17:45Speaker 4: them what we might just say some man. We're working
- 1:17:47Speaker 4: on the country music album, doing some production for Lady
- 1:17:52Speaker 4: God God Nah. We're working on trying to get to
- 1:17:55Speaker 4: the movie space. Like I feel like that's the ultimate,
- 1:17:58Speaker 4: the ultimate, you know what I mean? Like we want
- 1:18:00Speaker 4: to get into some movies and some TV shows and
- 1:18:03Speaker 4: and take the whole BT Hip Hop Awards experience to
- 1:18:06Speaker 4: another platform. I don't want. I was like, I felt
- 1:18:10Speaker 4: like that was a worldwide audition for us, just to
- 1:18:13Speaker 4: show them that we're responsible enough to be trusted with
- 1:18:16Speaker 4: a production. This so We definitely want to capitalize off that,
- 1:18:21Speaker 4: and we want to we want to do that. We
- 1:18:23Speaker 4: want to replicate what Tyler Perry got going on. We
- 1:18:25Speaker 4: want a studio and things of that nature and a
- 1:18:29Speaker 4: few deals and some digital go ahead. I'm trying to
- 1:18:36Speaker 4: overtalk well, you know, we actually.
- 1:18:42Speaker 7: I wasn't gonna say that.
- 1:18:43Speaker 6: We just put out our first independent film, our first
- 1:18:45Speaker 6: independent comedy films called Binnie Means You Can Go To
- 1:18:47Speaker 6: eighty five, starring Carlos Miller, written by Carlos Miller, produced
- 1:18:51Speaker 6: by Carlos Miller, directed by What You Can. That's our
- 1:18:56Speaker 6: first foray into the independent space of putting out feature
- 1:19:01Speaker 6: films and direct to consumer products, et cetera, et cetera.
- 1:19:05Speaker 7: It's doing pretty well.
- 1:19:06Speaker 6: So we're working through the binding means six minu six
- 1:19:09Speaker 6: month project, and then we want to be able to
- 1:19:11Speaker 6: license out that content as well. And like said, getting
- 1:19:14Speaker 6: the independent films, we actually just closed on our first
- 1:19:17Speaker 6: commercial real estate, so we're.
- 1:19:20Speaker 4: Gonna have it. I was saving it. I wasn't gonna
- 1:19:23Speaker 4: say nothing, gonna wait until I got in there, and
- 1:19:27Speaker 4: I was gonna go lab and I was gonna talk ship,
- 1:19:29Speaker 4: and I was gonna call your back.
- 1:19:30Speaker 7: This is like a specific audience, so it's all good.
- 1:19:32Speaker 4: We was about to get real disrespectful, but you told
- 1:19:35Speaker 4: them you got a factory. Yeah I got one. Man, Yeah,
- 1:19:39Speaker 4: I was gonna stand actually like my I was gonna
- 1:19:41Speaker 4: start at like the loading dock and I was gonna
- 1:19:44Speaker 4: gold all the way to the front door, just talking
- 1:19:47Speaker 4: ship hopping champagne an empty building. I was just, man,
- 1:19:53Speaker 4: it's gonna that's gonna be the first show.
- 1:19:54Speaker 6: Just picked up the keys this week. So we're getting
- 1:19:57Speaker 6: into animation. Were about to partner with something we gotta
- 1:19:59Speaker 6: do fast cartoon.
- 1:20:00Speaker 4: Yeah, we got it.
- 1:20:01Speaker 6: We actually have a cartoon we already developed. But now
- 1:20:03Speaker 6: we hotel feature film. Yeah, I want everybody check go
- 1:20:07Speaker 6: check that out, starring Lost Fly.
- 1:20:08Speaker 4: We haven't made like we've just been dropping clips up
- 1:20:11Speaker 4: until now, and we were like we got some kind
- 1:20:13Speaker 4: of long form content. But the ship is so dope.
- 1:20:17Speaker 4: It's like now we're just building it and trying to
- 1:20:19Speaker 4: get it. Our shut out to DJ Filthy Rich and
- 1:20:22Speaker 4: we're trying to get over there across the street. Oh no,
- 1:20:24Speaker 4: we're all on eighth, so it's right over there. The
- 1:20:26Speaker 4: Cartoon Network actually yeah, yeah, yeah, so yeah, we were talked.
- 1:20:31Speaker 5: You're giving us all location to drop on us to
- 1:20:37Speaker 5: building is right as five flocks away.
- 1:20:41Speaker 4: I mean, you're in my city.
- 1:20:43Speaker 7: Just hit the dump.
- 1:20:44Speaker 4: Yeah, just tell sorry about it. Yeah.
- 1:20:48Speaker 6: But no, just as a company, we're playing more executive
- 1:20:51Speaker 6: and producer this year.
- 1:20:53Speaker 7: That's our plan. We still got a tour that's on
- 1:20:54Speaker 7: whole covid. Slow that down. Yeah, so when we can
- 1:20:57Speaker 7: pick the tour back up, we'll be running full speed
- 1:20:59Speaker 7: with that. But in the meantime, we're building the infrastructure, hiring, so.
- 1:21:03Speaker 4: We're gonna keep putting these episodes out. We're gonna keep
- 1:21:06Speaker 4: getting in the studio, We're gonna keep making dope ass shows,
- 1:21:09Speaker 4: and we're gonna keep trying to feed the fans and
- 1:21:11Speaker 4: create new content. You know what I'm saying. We're gonna
- 1:21:14Speaker 4: keep gonna keep helping independently owned businesses. We're gonna keep
- 1:21:20Speaker 4: creating and bringing our partners up and jumping on podcasts
- 1:21:24Speaker 4: and earning our leisure. Eighty five sleepers for suping. Shoutouts
- 1:21:29Speaker 4: to man over there. I thought he was in here
- 1:21:31Speaker 4: with us. Man holding it down for a minute, that's
- 1:21:34Speaker 4: the fact.
- 1:21:35Speaker 6: Yeah, Yeah, y'all added that to the to the network,
- 1:21:37Speaker 6: right absolutely sleep.
- 1:21:41Speaker 4: I would tell you, like, so we gotta get David
- 1:21:43Speaker 4: and on the show Man. You got to come for
- 1:21:45Speaker 4: our Black business expos that's done. Come and lace us
- 1:21:49Speaker 4: with some game. But I told you they know the
- 1:21:52Speaker 4: big bag of this nigga talk all that ship, but
- 1:21:57Speaker 4: he still got vices. Let nigga that nigga love, he
- 1:22:02Speaker 4: gonna speak. He better invest in them, man, real, tell y'all.
- 1:22:06Speaker 6: I'll tell y'all, bro, Like, I'm such a supporter of
- 1:22:08Speaker 6: y'all and anybody that's creating anything that they can control
- 1:22:10Speaker 6: it own. Because I think about the nineties, Bro, we
- 1:22:13Speaker 6: was watching We was watching everything from Martin to Jamie
- 1:22:18Speaker 6: Fox Show, and it was like there was a palette
- 1:22:20Speaker 6: of things for us to watch and experiences, and I think,
- 1:22:23Speaker 6: like a new age of media creators are you know involving.
- 1:22:28Speaker 4: Oh check this out. I gotta say this while we're on,
- 1:22:30Speaker 4: because you brought up the nineties and that ship. Bro.
- 1:22:32Speaker 4: People don't understand that the dude Julil White and this
- 1:22:37Speaker 4: dude was killing ship in the nineties. This nigga was
- 1:22:41Speaker 4: he had the Family Matters show, he had herkle nigga
- 1:22:44Speaker 4: hand the serial thing. It was the voice of Sonic
- 1:22:47Speaker 4: the Hedgehog, like he had a game and a whole
- 1:22:51Speaker 4: choke hold. So that's where did that come from? Where
- 1:22:55Speaker 4: did that come from? It's when he was bringing up
- 1:22:56Speaker 4: all the ship we was watching. I'm like, niggas. I mean,
- 1:22:59Speaker 4: I'd be like, niggas, be a sleep on your little white.
- 1:23:02Speaker 4: That nigga like your billionaire in my mind?
- 1:23:03Speaker 5: You know what's so crazy? When he's a big supporter.
- 1:23:06Speaker 5: So he tagged us and I'm like, I tell him, like, yo,
- 1:23:10Speaker 5: her cool. I'm like your little white. They're like, yo,
- 1:23:12Speaker 5: that's miament. I'm like, Yo, that's oh deep, monumental shout
- 1:23:15Speaker 5: out to you, Little.
- 1:23:19Speaker 4: Carlos.
- 1:23:20Speaker 5: One last question before we wrap this up, is that
- 1:23:22Speaker 5: your real name Carlos? So it's interesting in the South.
- 1:23:26Speaker 5: Killer Mike's middle name is Santiago, Your your name is Carlos.
- 1:23:32Speaker 5: Are you Mexican? Like Mexican?
- 1:23:34Speaker 4: How mix? So what? I'm half a nigga, half black.
- 1:23:43Speaker 4: Now my dadd one, my dad a real nigga, and
- 1:23:45Speaker 4: my mother is a strong black woman, So mix them together. Yeah,
- 1:23:49Speaker 4: I'm mixed. Carlos. There you have it. So what would
- 1:23:55Speaker 4: you like to tell the people? Yeah? What I like
- 1:23:58Speaker 4: to tell the people keep the keep people's mouth off
- 1:24:02Speaker 4: your privates, nah man, I would tell people for real,
- 1:24:16Speaker 4: don't never stop pursuing your dreams. Man, as long as
- 1:24:18Speaker 4: you got breath in your body and you still got
- 1:24:21Speaker 4: the passion to do something, because I know it's like
- 1:24:23Speaker 4: it's a lot of people out there who have a
- 1:24:25Speaker 4: dream right now and they sleeping on it every night,
- 1:24:27Speaker 4: and that ship is killing them. It's like it's taking
- 1:24:29Speaker 4: that's the ship that's keeping them up all night. Like
- 1:24:31Speaker 4: just knowing that you have something great inside of you
- 1:24:35Speaker 4: and you're trying to repress a certin press that so
- 1:24:38Speaker 4: you could live in the bubble that you're comfortable in,
- 1:24:41Speaker 4: getting going to work, getting that check every week and
- 1:24:44Speaker 4: living you know, the life that you live. But it's
- 1:24:47Speaker 4: everybody got a purpose, man, And once you pursue your passion,
- 1:24:50Speaker 4: that's when you're really living. And it's not just about
- 1:24:53Speaker 4: money or a dollar amount. It's like, when you're out
- 1:24:56Speaker 4: there in the world and you're doing what you want
- 1:24:57Speaker 4: to do and you're pursuing your passion dreams, no amount
- 1:25:01Speaker 4: of money can't replace it. That's that's the extent of living.
- 1:25:05Speaker 4: And that's what they really mean when they say freedom man. Yeah,
- 1:25:09Speaker 4: that's it you have.
- 1:25:10Speaker 3: I want to give y'all y'all flowers now because I
- 1:25:14Speaker 3: heard I heard last night. Man, in five years, you've
- 1:25:18Speaker 3: missed three episodes. I don't think people really understand the
- 1:25:21Speaker 3: level of consistency and dedication it takes to do something
- 1:25:24Speaker 3: like that. And again, like we said the other last night,
- 1:25:27Speaker 3: out of all the podcasts out there, shout out to
- 1:25:29Speaker 3: million dollars worth of game and while shout out to them,
- 1:25:34Speaker 3: but just showing love.
- 1:25:36Speaker 4: Man.
- 1:25:36Speaker 3: Like like I said, the first time you met Chad,
- 1:25:38Speaker 3: I mean, we two dudes from Greenburg, New York. So
- 1:25:40Speaker 3: for him to see us and say like, Yo, I
- 1:25:42Speaker 3: got to meet them, I got to talk to them.
- 1:25:43Speaker 3: I got guidance I can give to them. I mean,
- 1:25:45Speaker 3: it still sticks with us. Like we said, we still
- 1:25:47Speaker 3: talk about the ideas he said to us. I remember
- 1:25:49Speaker 3: him like, Yo, he's shining the light on your ball head.
- 1:25:52Speaker 3: That's not gonna look great on the camera. And I'm
- 1:25:54Speaker 3: just like, oh, damn you. We gotta change how we
- 1:25:56Speaker 3: do the lone and Yo, we gotta upgrade these cameras.
- 1:25:58Speaker 3: We can't be using the phone. Some more so, just
- 1:26:00Speaker 3: that level of God's coming from where he's coming from
- 1:26:02Speaker 3: and where y'all was at. I was just like, yo,
- 1:26:04Speaker 3: damn the amount of love that y'all showed.
- 1:26:05Speaker 4: Man. I wanted to thank y'all personally.
- 1:26:08Speaker 5: And I got to give Chat a shout out, and
- 1:26:09Speaker 5: we from horrible decisions. They both reached out to Charlamagne
- 1:26:13Speaker 5: and that's the first time I actually spoke to Charlamagne.
- 1:26:15Speaker 5: So yeah, oh yeah, they made that he's actually responsible
- 1:26:18Speaker 5: for those situations.
- 1:26:19Speaker 6: On top of that, y'all responsible for that. I want
- 1:26:22Speaker 6: to thank God for that.
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:26:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:26:23Speaker 4: And when we needed an entertainment lawyer, we don't even
- 1:26:27Speaker 4: know it was like an entertainment lawyer and shout out
- 1:26:29Speaker 4: to Amy.
- 1:26:30Speaker 3: Chad was like, Yo, we got somebody for you.
- 1:26:33Speaker 4: And so like, yeah, shout shout to you for that.
- 1:26:35Speaker 4: People got to have on the show. You see. This
- 1:26:37Speaker 4: is just that's those are the type of things that
- 1:26:40Speaker 4: we're gonna push to keep going forward. It's like like,
- 1:26:42Speaker 4: when you say that somebody who doesn't have an entertainment lawyer,
- 1:26:46Speaker 4: I can't it for that. You need to go and
- 1:26:48Speaker 4: talk to these folks man and show him that you're
- 1:26:50Speaker 4: serious about having one, you know what I mean?
- 1:26:53Speaker 3: Ye, your whole me say the same thing about She
- 1:26:56Speaker 3: was like, wait, when I tell these people Chad coming,
- 1:26:58Speaker 3: they be like, oh, no, but about his business, he about.
- 1:27:03Speaker 5: His business chat. You want to tell them your social
- 1:27:05Speaker 5: media handles the first I'm telling them all the time.
- 1:27:12Speaker 5: It's not gonna It's not gonna work like that.
- 1:27:14Speaker 3: Man.
- 1:27:15Speaker 4: However much you try to play the background, we still
- 1:27:19Speaker 4: people know who Biggs is from Rockefellers. Fact, they know
- 1:27:23Speaker 4: there is no escaping in this ship, bro This industry
- 1:27:26Speaker 4: is mungy. Yeah. I see Charlottage screaming.
- 1:27:28Speaker 3: And the more you try to avoid that ship, the
- 1:27:30Speaker 3: more people.
- 1:27:30Speaker 4: Are gonna pursue you.
- 1:27:31Speaker 7: And I appreciate that, but don't do.
- 1:27:32Speaker 4: That shout with Chad Dave. I said, oh they got
- 1:27:36Speaker 4: you all over man?
- 1:27:37Speaker 7: What loads put online?
- 1:27:38Speaker 8: Like?
- 1:27:38Speaker 7: I got d ms of people like bro hire me.
- 1:27:41Speaker 6: I'm like, man, somebody posted something and I finally figured out,
- 1:27:44Speaker 6: like damn.
- 1:27:46Speaker 4: Were always looking to expand and link up with some
- 1:27:49Speaker 4: dope ass people. Though, Man, you know, but you know
- 1:27:52Speaker 4: what the world slowing down right now, we really really
- 1:27:56Speaker 4: just focused in house man, taking that ship back to
- 1:27:58Speaker 4: the back to the basics. But you know, once the
- 1:28:01Speaker 4: world opened up, were back on their ass and we
- 1:28:03Speaker 4: can really open up our platform and try to add
- 1:28:06Speaker 4: a few more people to the team and change their
- 1:28:08Speaker 4: life to send some people over here to.
- 1:28:11Speaker 7: Y'all need more media, bro, we need more people. That's platforms.
- 1:28:14Speaker 6: We need more people that's controlling the opportunities so you
- 1:28:16Speaker 6: can control your community communities.
- 1:28:19Speaker 4: We make.
- 1:28:19Speaker 7: Change comes from leverage, and you create levers through community.
- 1:28:23Speaker 4: Yep, that's a fact. That's it. But all the creators,
- 1:28:26Speaker 4: open your platform up and have other guests and other
