- 0:08Speaker 2: You have to email questions Radio from hell at X
- 0:12Speaker 2: ninety six dot com. But the best question are the
- 0:15Speaker 2: subject line, and we have some related questions today.
- 0:22Speaker 1: We'll do two of them.
- 0:24Speaker 3: Okay.
- 0:25Speaker 2: One of them comes to us from Eddie says, thanks
- 0:29Speaker 2: for letting me listen. You guys have been a big
- 0:31Speaker 2: part of Utah culture for many years. We're a better
- 0:34Speaker 2: place because of all of you.
- 0:36Speaker 3: Thanks Eddie.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Come on, here's my question.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Is there something that you guys have done over the
- 0:41Speaker 2: years that you are most proud of, like maybe the
- 0:45Speaker 2: road home or your segments with people like Sister Dottie.
- 0:50Speaker 2: There are many things I will always remember fondly. I
- 0:52Speaker 2: just want to know if there's anything you guys are
- 0:54Speaker 2: most proud of, and I want to say thank you
- 0:56Speaker 2: for everything you do to make Utah better.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Thanks for letting me listen, Eddie.
- 1:00Speaker 4: I'm going to start answering every best question of the
- 1:01Speaker 4: week week. What the two yaddie? Not to honey, what
- 1:05Speaker 4: do you what do you care?
- 1:07Speaker 3: No?
- 1:08Speaker 4: I mean, we've done a lot of stuff that you
- 1:11Speaker 4: know that makes me feel proud for various reasons, I think,
- 1:18Speaker 4: but I would say the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention,
- 1:23Speaker 4: the stuff I do with them every year, the Road
- 1:27Speaker 4: Home certainly. Yeah, things like that are you know, you'd
- 1:33Speaker 4: sort of devote your time to donate your time to
- 1:36Speaker 4: it and try to promote it and help and that.
- 1:39Speaker 4: I'm proud of that. But then I'm proud I'm also
- 1:42Speaker 4: proud of well, I won't say the Utah word of
- 1:45Speaker 4: the day, but you.
- 1:47Speaker 5: Should be proud of that because and you should be
- 1:51Speaker 5: because we did it so long ago that it became
- 1:58Speaker 5: part of the Utah zeitgeist, and we don't really get
- 2:02Speaker 5: credit for it. I mean, we started that bit a
- 2:06Speaker 5: very long time ago, and we never get credit for that.
- 2:10Speaker 3: I'm the barber of the day.
- 2:13Speaker 1: I'm proud of things.
- 2:14Speaker 2: More generally, I am proud that this show continues to
- 2:19Speaker 2: be a place for people to turn to for a
- 2:25Speaker 2: different perspective, maybe a voice in Utah that doesn't get
- 2:28Speaker 2: heard many other places. A place where we open the
- 2:33Speaker 2: phone lines up and let people talk about what's bothering them.
- 2:35Speaker 2: A place where marginalized people feel safe and feel supported
- 2:41Speaker 2: and feel.
- 2:44Speaker 1: I'm proud of.
- 2:45Speaker 4: You know, you know why we are that place. We
- 2:49Speaker 4: are that place because well, there's just not very many
- 2:52Speaker 4: people who want it.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Conversely, we got this email from Jeremy. Have any of
- 3:01Speaker 2: you ever been unexpectedly self conscious or embarrassed with yourself
- 3:05Speaker 2: while on the radio or otherwise representing the station?
- 3:08Speaker 3: Well, again, the Utah word of the day cure me.
- 3:15Speaker 5: Embarrassed, unexpectedly self conscious or embarrassed you said something or
- 3:20Speaker 5: did something.
- 3:20Speaker 4: Well, there was that time I went to the Governor's
- 3:24Speaker 4: mansion naked, and it was it was just I'd forgotten
- 3:28Speaker 4: to put on my clothes.
- 3:29Speaker 1: I forgid that.
- 3:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:33Speaker 4: There, I know I've been embarrassed or I've gone oh jeez.
- 3:37Speaker 4: I mean I've said things that I said, Oh man,
- 3:40Speaker 4: I shouldn't have said that. It came out the wrong way,
- 3:43Speaker 4: and it's embarrassing.
- 3:44Speaker 2: I purposely gave my kids fake names and my husband
- 3:49Speaker 2: a fake name because I've worried about saying something that
- 3:53Speaker 2: would embarrass them, so I preemptively have tried to to
- 4:00Speaker 2: keep that from happening.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Still happens, though.
- 4:03Speaker 2: The kids would have people at school say oh, I
- 4:05Speaker 2: heard your mom talking about this or that, and they
- 4:08Speaker 2: still it's still got back to them.
- 4:10Speaker 5: But uh, anytime I listened to an early recording of of.
- 4:17Speaker 3: Shows that we did. Embarrassed.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Yeah, because I was a misogynist sexist.
- 4:24Speaker 3: You were not, Oh I was. I was terrible.
- 4:26Speaker 4: Yeah, he kind of was, yeah, yeah, kind of.
- 4:30Speaker 3: Yeah, you've changed a lot over the years, my friend.
- 4:33Speaker 5: Yeah, Well, I listened to those shows, and I'm just like, yeah,
- 4:37Speaker 5: I mean, you.
- 4:37Speaker 3: Weren't as bad as your say.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Were you bad or or this is a bigger question,
- 4:43Speaker 1: were you bad?
- 4:44Speaker 2: Or did you think that is what you were supposed
- 4:46Speaker 2: to sound like on the radio?
- 4:47Speaker 3: It was that was that that was part of it.
- 4:51Speaker 5: But you know, I mean we'd have strippers in the studio,
- 4:54Speaker 5: you know, and things like that.
- 4:56Speaker 3: That's that's embarrassing. Yeah. I should have been embarrass at
- 5:00Speaker 3: the time. I used to wear Hawaiian shirts. That's embarrassing.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Yeah, your wife never would have dated you if she
- 5:06Speaker 1: had known you by the probably exactly.
- 5:08Speaker 3: I had a mullet. I had a mullet long time ago. Yeah.
- 5:13Speaker 4: Uh, I'm embarrassed by the picture that we had taken
- 5:17Speaker 4: of us that was sent to Playgirl magazine. Yeah.
- 5:20Speaker 3: That was bad.
- 5:21Speaker 2: That was bad.
- 5:22Speaker 4: That was really embarrassing, And you know what I was
- 5:25Speaker 4: supposed to destroy that picture.
- 5:27Speaker 3: But I think I should.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Still have it.
- 5:29Speaker 3: I think so.
- 5:29Speaker 2: I thought somebody paid donated money to something, so you
- 5:32Speaker 2: would destroy it to see.
- 5:34Speaker 3: It, No, just to see, just to see it. Yeah,
- 5:36Speaker 3: but I would like you to destroy it. Yeah.
- 5:38Speaker 4: I'm in the process of reorganizing my office and moving
- 5:43Speaker 4: to another room, and I think I saw the envelope
- 5:45Speaker 4: that it's in.
- 5:47Speaker 1: You can't destroy it now, Yes I can. Best question
