• 0:28
Speaker 1: directory for all Zorro development personnel, referencing attached files, telephone number, ODS,

• 0:43
Speaker 1: an email attachment that has not yet been produced as
• 0:45
Speaker 1: part of the EFTA disclosure. However, elsewhere in the EFTA documents,
• 0:51
Speaker 1: telephone numbers associated with Zorro Ranch appear frequently. As reflected
• 0:57
Speaker 1: in his required sex offender notification, discussed in greater detail below,
• 1:01
Speaker 1: Epstein maintained only one cell phone for personal use, but
• 1:06

• 1:32
Speaker 1: Some of these entities also played a role in the

Speaker 1: management and operation of other Epstein properties, including his property
• 1:39
Speaker 1: in New York City, at Little St. James, in the
• 1:42

Speaker 1: limited liability law company established by Darren K. Endyke, Jeffrey

Speaker 1: its sole client. Harry Beller managed Epstein's JP Morgan account.
• 4:05
Speaker 1: Kahn was co-executor of Epstein's trust, managed the Epstein Victim
• 4:09
Speaker 1: Compensation Fund, and later oversaw sale of Epstein's New York,
• 4:13
Speaker 1: Palm Beach, and Virgin Island properties. Little St. James LLC
• 4:19
Speaker 1: LSJE was a legal entity through which Epstein purchased and
• 4:23
Speaker 1: operated Little St. James, the approximately 70-acre island in the U.S.
• 4:27
Speaker 1: Virgin Islands. Epstein purchased the island through LSJE in April
• 4:32
  Speaker 1: of 1998 for approximately $ 7. 95 million. LSJE employed approximately 20
• 4:39
Speaker 1: individuals who together were responsible for the management, operation, and
• 4:44
Speaker 1: maintenance of Epstein's Virgin Islands properties. Epstein also tasked ZDC employees,
• 4:50
Speaker 1: notably Bryce and Karen Gordon, with management and operation of LSJ.
• 4:56
Speaker 1: LSJE also retained approximately five contractors at any given time.
• 5:01
Speaker 1: Cypress Incorporated was a Virgin Islands corporation addressed 9100 Havensite
• 5:07
Speaker 1: Port of Sale, St. Thomas, USVI 00802. Cypress received the
• 5:13
Speaker 1: Zorro Ranch via special warranty deed dated December 19, 2011,
• 5:18
Speaker 1: with Darren Endyke handling the transfer through local counsel David G.
• 5:22
Speaker 1: Gordon at Sutton Thayer & Brown, a law firm in Albuquerque.
• 5:28
Speaker 1: The transfer package included assignment of State Land Office Grazing Lease, No.
• 5:33
Speaker 1: GR-2122 assignment of State Right Way of Easement, No. RW-30137
• 5:39
Speaker 1: and pending BLM assignments. Zorro Management, LLC. was an entity
• 5:46
Speaker 1: registered to the Virgin Islands with an associated Deutsche Bank account.
• 5:51
Speaker 1: The entity was subject to a periodic review of high-risk
• 5:54
Speaker 1: accounts together with Southern Trust Company Inc. and Epstein's personal
• 5:58
Speaker 1: accounts under the Southern Financial Relationship held at Deutsche Bank. Epstein, Indyk,
• 6:04
Speaker 1: and Bryce Gordon were signatories on the account held by
• 6:07
Speaker 1: Zorro Ranch Management. Epstein directed creation on numerous other entities
• 6:13
Speaker 1: including most of which had at least some tangible relationship
• 6:16
Speaker 1: to management and operation of Zorro Ranch. Some of these
• 6:21
Speaker 1: entities were nominally focused on management and operation of Epstein's
• 6:24
Speaker 1: property in U.S. Virgin Islands, New York City, Palm Beach,
• 6:28
Speaker 1: and Paris, France. They include Sarah Kellen, SLK Designs, NES LLC,
• 6:35
Speaker 1: a New York limited liability company which nominally owned Epstein's
• 6:39
Speaker 1: New York properties, Neptune LLC, and Southern Trust. Epstein personnel.
• 6:45
Speaker 1: Interview and deposition of witnesses will be the most crucial
• 6:48
Speaker 1: part of executing the commission's mandate. The most important witnesses,
• 6:52
Speaker 1: of course, will be those who interacted directly with Epstein
• 6:56
Speaker 1: and other important figures connected to him. The commission's focus
• 7:01
Speaker 1: is on the interactions that occurred in New Mexico or
• 7:04
Speaker 1: that have a New Mexico connection. Epstein's orbit included dozens
• 7:08
Speaker 1: of full-time employees hired to oversee and manage Epstein's corporate, legal,
• 7:13
Speaker 1: and financial affairs, the operation and logistics of his frequent trips,
• 7:19
Speaker 1: the operation and maintenance of his various residences and other properties,
• 7:24
Speaker 1: and the servicing of his immediate personal needs. Added to
• 7:28
Speaker 1: this orbit were seasonal employees and contractors retained for specialized services.
• 7:33
Speaker 1: Many of these employees and contractors may have knowledge or
• 7:36
Speaker 1: information relevant to Epstein's activity in New Mexico, and some
• 7:41
Speaker 1: may have knowledge or of or facilitated Epstein's abuse of
• 7:45
Speaker 1: women and girls. The identities of Epstein's employees and contractors
• 7:50
Speaker 1: have thus far been drawn primarily from documents made available
• 7:53
Speaker 1: under the EFTA, including material generated in connection with past
• 7:58
Speaker 1: law enforcement investigation and civil lawsuits, as well as Epstein's
• 8:03
Speaker 1: email correspondence dating back to 2009. Notwithstanding the extensive bulk
• 8:08
Speaker 1: of documents, a full picture of the people in Epstein's life,
• 8:12
Speaker 1: especially those with a New Mexico connection, is difficult to complete.
• 8:17
Speaker 1: That's because the FTA documents are redacted, Epstein's email captures
• 8:21
Speaker 1: a limited, limited attention was given to Epstein's activities in
• 8:25
Speaker 1: New Mexico by media and federal law enforcement, and Epstein
• 8:29
Speaker 1: and his circle frequently referred to people only by their
• 8:32
Speaker 1: first name or initials. For these reasons, the list of
• 8:36
Speaker 1: employees and contractors assembled below should be viewed as incomplete.
• 8:42
Speaker 1: and as only a starting point for identifying all persons
• 8:45
Speaker 1: having relevant knowledge or information about Epstein's wrongdoing in New Mexico.
• 8:50
Speaker 1: Subpoenas to the New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department and
• 8:54
Speaker 1: the Department of Workforce Solutions are pending, and it's hoped
• 8:57
Speaker 1: that the information from these agencies will enable identification of
• 9:02
Speaker 1: all of Epstein's New Mexico employees, key personnel central to
• 9:06
Speaker 1: all of Epstein's enterprises. Across his numerous enterprises, Epstein employed
• 9:11
Speaker 1: approximately 50 individuals at any given time, with a combined
• 9:15
Speaker 1: annual payroll of approximately $ 7 million to manage, operate, and
• 9:20
Speaker 1: maintain his households in Palm Beach, New York, New Mexico,
• 9:24
Speaker 1: and the U.S. Virgin Islands and Paris. Some of these
• 9:27
Speaker 1: employees provided legal, corporate, and financial advice necessary to manage
• 9:32
Speaker 1: all of Epstein's properties and activities. Others acted as personal
• 9:36
Speaker 1: assistants supporting and accompanying Epstein regardless of where he was.
• 9:41
Speaker 1: Others provided services situated at a given household. Key players
• 9:45
Speaker 1: central to all of Epstein's enterprises, each of whom would
• 9:49
Speaker 1: have had some relevant knowledge of activities at Zorro Ranch,
• 9:52
Speaker 1: include the following. Ghislaine Maxwell. Maxwell was born December 25, 1961,
• 9:57
Speaker 1: in France. The child of British media baron Robert Maxwell.
• 10:03
Speaker 1: Maxwell moved to New York City, where she became Epstein's
• 10:06
Speaker 1: romantic partner and business associate. Epstein's longtime pilot, Larry Vesosky,
• 10:12
Speaker 1: testified at trial. that Maxwell was Epstein's number two, managing
• 10:16
Speaker 1: his households, properties, and travel logistics across the New York townhouse,
• 10:20
Speaker 1: Palm Beach Estate, Zorro Ranch, and Little St. James Island.
• 10:25
Speaker 1: Maxwell was arrested in July of 2020, convicted on five
• 10:29
Speaker 1: counts of sex trafficking and related charges in December of 2021,
• 10:33
Speaker 1: and sentenced in June 2022 to 20 years in federal prison.
• 10:39
Speaker 1: At trial, SDNY prosecutors proved that Maxwell personally recruited and
• 10:43
Speaker 1: grew minors for Epstein to abuse from the early 90s
• 10:47
Speaker 1: through the mid-2000s, instructed young women on how to perform
• 10:50
Speaker 1: sexual acts, and participated in abuse herself. Maxwell's conviction was
• 10:55
Speaker 1: affirmed on appeal in September of 2024. In October of 2025,
• 11:00
Speaker 1: the U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear her appeal, exhausting
• 11:05
Speaker 1: her standard appellate options. Maxwell has since filed a habeas
• 11:09
Speaker 1: petition challenging her conviction on grounds of substantial new evidence.
• 11:14
Speaker 1: In July of 2025, Maxwell met with Deputy Attorney General
• 11:18
Speaker 1: Todd Blanch and was subsequently transferred, in August 2025, to
• 11:23
Speaker 1: a minimum-security federal prison, which many criticized over concerns about
• 11:28
Speaker 1: preferential treatment. Darren K. Indyke is a New York attorney
• 11:33
Speaker 1: who served as Epstein's personal lawyer from at least the
• 11:37
Speaker 1: 1990s onward, managing his trust, corporate entities, and tax-sensitive financial structures. Indyk,
• 11:44
Speaker 1: who also serves as a co-executor of Epstein's estate with
• 11:47
Speaker 1: Epstein's accountant, Richard Kahn, in a will signed August 8th
• 11:51
Speaker 1: of 2019, two days before Epstein's death. Indyk held signatory
• 11:56
Speaker 1: authority on numerous Epstein bank accounts and played a central
• 12:00
Speaker 1: role in maintaining the financial infrastructure that supported Epstein's operation
• 12:05
Speaker 1: across multiple jurisdictions. Indyk has been named in a class
• 12:09
Speaker 1: action lawsuit that alleges Indyk concealed and facilitated Epstein's wrongdoing.
• 12:14
Speaker 1: It's not been alleged that Indyk and Kahn directly participated
• 12:17
Speaker 1: in sexual exploitation. A no-fault settlement of between $ 25 and
• 12:22
Speaker 1: $ 30 million is pending approval. Indyk testified on March 19, 2026,
• 12:27
Speaker 1: before the House Oversight Committee, as part of its investigation
• 12:32
Speaker 1: into the federal handling of the Epstein case. During the deposition,
• 12:36
Speaker 1: Indyk testified that he had no knowledge whatsoever of of
• 12:39
Speaker 1: Epstein's sexual abuse or trafficking, that his role was strictly
• 12:43
Speaker 1: limited to legal and corporate work, and that he did
• 12:46
Speaker 1: not socialize with Epstein or participate in his personal life.
• 12:50
Speaker 1: Richard Kahn. Kahn was a certified public accountant who, with Indyk,
• 12:55
Speaker 1: served as co-executor of Epstein's estate. Kahn played a daily
• 12:59
Speaker 1: role in the management, operation, and maintenance of Epstein's residential properties.
• 13:05
Speaker 1: He was involved in financial, operational, and personnel decision-making. At
• 13:09
Speaker 1: a detailed level, Kahn managed the Epstein victims' compensation program,
• 13:13
Speaker 1: which paid out $ 121 million to more than 135 claimants.
• 13:18
Speaker 1: He also oversaw the sale of Epstein's properties, including the
• 13:22
Speaker 1: 9 East Street, 71st Street townhouse in New York City,
• 13:26
Speaker 1: the Palm Beach, Florida mansion, Little St. James, and Zorro Ranch.
• 13:30
Speaker 1: Epstein Trust made a bequest to him of $ 25 million,
• 13:34
Speaker 1: and all debts were forgiven. All right, folks, we're going
• 13:36
Speaker 1: to wrap up right here. And in the next episode
• 13:38
Speaker 1: dealing with the topic we're going to pick up where
• 13:40
Speaker 1: we left off. All the information that goes with this
• 13:43
Speaker 1: episode can be found in the description box. What's up
• 13:47
Speaker 1: everyone and welcome to another episode of the Epstein Chronicles.
• 13:51
Speaker 1: In this episode we're picking up where we left off
• 13:54
Speaker 1: with the New Mexico Interim Report into Jeffrey Epstein's criminal
• 13:58
Speaker 1: behavior in the state of New Mexico. Richard Kahn. Kahn
• 14:02
Speaker 1: was a certified public accountant, who with Indyk served as
• 14:06
Speaker 1: co-executor of Epstein's estate. Kahn played a daily role in
• 14:10
Speaker 1: the management, operation, and maintenance of Epstein's residential properties. He
• 14:15
Speaker 1: was involved in financial, operational, and personal decision-making at a
• 14:19
Speaker 1: detailed level. Kahn managed the Epstein victims' compensation program, which
• 14:23
Speaker 1: paid out over $ 121 million to more than 135 claimants.
• 14:28
Speaker 1: He also oversaw the sale of Epstein's properties, including the
• 14:32
Speaker 1: 9 East 71st Street townhouse, In New York City, $ 51 million.
• 14:37
Speaker 1: The Palm Beach, Florida mansion, $ 18. 5 million. Little St. James,

Speaker 1: the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the international destinations. Vysotsky was
• 15:09
Speaker 1: a key prosecution witness at Ghislaine Maxwell's sex trafficking trial
• 15:13
Speaker 1: in 2021. In his testimony, he described Maxwell as Epstein's
• 15:17
Speaker 1: number two, responsible for managing all of Epstein's affairs outside
• 15:22
Speaker 1: of business, including household operations, property management, and staff oversight
• 15:28
Speaker 1: across all residences. Vysotsky testified that Epstein and Maxwell were
• 15:32
Speaker 1: like a married couple. Flight logs from Vysotsky's flights constitute
• 15:37
Speaker 1: some of the most important evidence implicating Epstein and others.
• 15:41
Speaker 1: Vysotsky denied witnessing any sexual activity on any aircraft, testifying
• 15:46
Speaker 1: absolutely not and never, when asked if he found sex
• 15:49
Speaker 1: toys during aircraft cleanup. Epstein allegedly paid Vysotsky's legal fees.
• 15:55
Speaker 1: Vysotsky's most frequent passenger included Epstein, 185 shared flights, Glenn Maxwell, 153,
• 15:59
Speaker 1: and Bill Richardson, 5. Epstein made a bequest of $ 1

• 16:12
Speaker 1: testimony Vysotsky gave at Maxwell's criminal trial, Epstein gave him
• 16:16
Speaker 1: 40 acres of Zorro Ranch on which he was to
• 16:19
Speaker 1: build the house. At the same trial, Vysotsky testified that
• 16:23
Speaker 1: Zorro Ranch manager Bryce Gordon told him that he arranged
• 16:26
Speaker 1: for masseuses from Santa Fe, 10,000 Waves, to visit Zorro
• 16:30
Speaker 1: Ranch to perform massages on Epstein. Dave Rogers Rogers was
• 16:36
Speaker 1: flight operation coordinator and served as pilot for Epstein. He
• 16:40
Speaker 1: worked closely with chief pilot Larry Vososky and handled travel scheduling,
• 16:44
Speaker 1: crew visas, international landing permits, and lodging logistics for the
• 16:49
Speaker 1: flight crew. Rogers was interviewed by the FBI on August 15, 2006.
• 16:55
Speaker 1: Rogers told the FBI that he observed countless females on
• 16:58
Speaker 1: Epstein's aircraft. He believed that they were aged 21 to 23,
• 17:01
Speaker 1: non-allegedly underaged, and he never witnessed sexual activity or observed
• 17:07
Speaker 1: sex toys on the aircraft. Jean Brennan Weibrocht Weibrocht was
• 17:12
Speaker 1: a certified public accountant for Epstein's Virgin Island operation. She

• 17:34
Speaker 1: a beneficiary in Epstein's last trust with a bequest of
• 17:38
Speaker 1: $ 1 million. It's expected that Weibrecht may have knowledge or
• 17:42
Speaker 1: information about financial transactions related to Zorro Ranch. Harry Beller.
• 17:48
Speaker 1: Beller was an accountant at HBRK Associates, Inc., located at

Speaker 1: witnesses allege that Groff scheduled massages involving underage girls at
• 20:29
Speaker 1: Epstein's New York and Palm Beach residences. Groff was part
• 20:33
Speaker 1: of Epstein's inner circle, which also included Maxwell, Kellan, and Marcinkova.
• 20:39
Speaker 1: The 2007 federal non-prosecution agreement granted her immunity from criminal
• 20:43
Speaker 1: prosecution as one of Epstein's co-conspirators, Sarah Kellen. Kellen was
• 20:49
Speaker 1: Epstein's primary personal scheduler who was involved in arranging Epstein's
• 20:54
Speaker 1: travel to Zorro Ranch and traveled multiple times to Zorro
• 20:57
Speaker 1: Ranch herself. In February of 2026, she was deposed by
• 21:02
Speaker 1: the House Oversight Committee investigating the Epstein case. According to
• 21:08
Speaker 1: her testimony, she was born in North Carolina in 1979.
• 21:12
Speaker 1: Maxwell recruited her for Epstein, and Kellen has stated that
• 21:16
Speaker 1: Maxwell abused her. She was known to have begun recruiting
• 21:20
Speaker 1: other women and girls for Epstein. The Palm Beach Police
• 21:23
Speaker 1: Department investigation identified Kellen as central to Epstein's operation and
• 21:28
Speaker 1: named her as a suspect in connection with Principal, in
• 21:31
Speaker 1: the first degree, for unlawful sexual activity with a minor
• 21:34
Speaker 1: and lewd and lascivious molestations. although only Epstein was named
• 21:39
Speaker 1: on the arrest warrant for those charges. Evidence against her
• 21:42
Speaker 1: included handwritten notes attributed to her reading, I have girls
• 21:46
Speaker 1: for him and I have two girls for him. Documents
• 21:49
Speaker 1: show that Kellen accompanied Epstein on 365 flights on Epstein's aircraft.
• 21:56
Speaker 1: Flight manifests show that she flew with Epstein, Maxwell, Jean-Luc Brunel,
• 22:00
Speaker 1: Naomi Campbell, and numerous unidentified young women. Flight manifest phone records,
• 22:06
Speaker 1: handwritten notes, and other evidence supported the Palm Beach police
• 22:09
Speaker 1: conclusion that Kellen helped Epstein arrange liaisons with girls. Kellen
• 22:14
Speaker 1: was never criminally charged. She was granted immunity in the
• 22:18
Speaker 1: 2007 federal non-prosecution agreement, as were Nadia Marcinkova, Leslie Groff,
• 22:23
Speaker 1: and Adriana Ross. Nadia Marcinkova Marcinkova was born in Slovakia
• 22:30
Speaker 1: in 1986. Epstein arranged to have Marcinkova admitted to the
• 22:34
Speaker 1: United States in 1999. Witnesses have provided information that Epstein
• 22:40
Speaker 1: and Maxwell groomed and abused her. Eventually, she became a
• 22:43
Speaker 1: recruiter of other women and girls for Epstein and allegedly
• 22:47
Speaker 1: abused minors herself. Marcinkova is one of four individuals named
• 22:52
Speaker 1: as co-conspirators but granted immunity under the 2007 federal non-prosecution agreement.
• 22:58
Speaker 1: She appeared regularly in Epstein flight logs under the initials N.M.
• 23:03
Speaker 1: Marcinkova helped prepare travel logistics to Zorro Ranch, and traveled
• 23:07
Speaker 1: there herself. Janusz Banaszczyk Banaszczyk was Epstein's Polish-born house manager, chauffeur,
• 23:14
Speaker 1: and maintenance worker at Epstein's Palm Beach residence. He worked
• 23:18
Speaker 1: there from February 2005 until 2017. Banaszczyk testified in depositions
• 23:24
Speaker 1: that he answered the door for young women who gave
• 23:26
Speaker 1: Epstein massages and handed the girls cash when he left.
• 23:30
Speaker 1: He testified in the Roberts-Maxwell civil case and gave multiple
• 23:34
Speaker 1: FBI interviews. Mark Dober Dober was hired to manage property, maintenance,
• 23:39
Speaker 1: and construction projects across the scope of Epstein's properties, including
• 23:43
Speaker 1: Zorro Ranch. His employment with Epstein ceased on November 30, 2011.
• 23:49
Speaker 1: Richard Barnett Barnett was a staff member from 1995 to
• 23:52
Speaker 1: 2014 at Jeffrey Epstein's Manhattan townhouse at 9 East 71st Street.
• 24:00
Speaker 1: He helped manage the daily operation and maintenance of Epstein's
• 24:03
Speaker 1: Manhattan residence and also assisted with other matters. He traveled
• 24:08
Speaker 1: to Zorro Ranch on occasion. Mark Tolison. Tolison was a
• 24:12
Speaker 1: project manager starting in September 2013 for Epstein's New York,
• 24:18
Speaker 1: Virgin Islands, and New Mexico residences. He managed construction, maintenance,
• 24:23
Speaker 1: and IT projects. Tolison was New York-based and resided with
• 24:27
Speaker 1: his girlfriend, in one of Epstein's New York condos. David
• 24:32
Speaker 1: Richard Mullen. Mullen was Epstein's personal chef, based in New York,
• 24:36
Speaker 1: since about 2004. He was interviewed by the FBI on
• 24:40
Speaker 1: December 13, 2006. Mullen told the FBI he traveled with
• 24:45
Speaker 1: Epstein to Palm Beach and also to Zorro Ranch. He
• 24:48
Speaker 1: also stated that he frequently saw young females on Epstein's aircraft.
• 24:53
Speaker 1: He believed the females were from Spain or Russia and
• 24:56
Speaker 1: were 18 years or older. with others of questionable age.
• 25:00
Speaker 1: He believed the females were aspiring models. Mullen was only
• 25:05
Speaker 1: one of a series of personal cooks employed by Epstein.
• 25:08
Speaker 1: All right, folks, we're going to wrap up right here.
• 25:11
Speaker 1: And in the next episode, we're going to pick up
• 25:12
Speaker 1: where we left off, and that's with Zorro Ranch employees.
• 25:17
Speaker 1: All the information that goes with this episode can be
• 25:20
Speaker 1: found in the description box. What's up, everyone, and welcome
• 25:23
Speaker 1: to another episode of the Epstein Chronicles. In this episode,
• 25:28
Speaker 1: we're picking up where we left off with the Truth
• 25:31
Speaker 1: Commission from New Mexico and their interim report, Zorro Ranch Employees.
• 25:38
Speaker 1: Review of EFTA and other publicly available resources reveals only
• 25:43
Speaker 1: some of the personnel employed at Zorro Ranch. Much of
• 25:46
Speaker 1: this information is drawn from Epstein's email archive, which spans
• 25:51
Speaker 1: from May 2009 through 2019. Staff who worked there before
• 25:53
Speaker 1: 2009 or who were not named in emails are not
• 25:59
Speaker 1: captured here. There is little available documentation that sheds light
• 26:04
Speaker 1: on Zorro Ranch personnel and operations prior to 2009. Available
• 26:09
Speaker 1: information shows that Zorro Ranch staff levels fluctuated over time
• 26:13
Speaker 1: from a few, as three, to as many as seven
• 26:16
Speaker 1: or eight. The number does not include contractors. There were
• 26:21
Speaker 1: also some turnover among employees with many not lasting more
• 26:25
Speaker 1: than one or two years. while other employees were employed
• 26:28
Speaker 1: for longer durations. There's no record showing that many of
• 26:31
Speaker 1: the Zorro Ranch employees were ever interviewed by the FBI
• 26:35
Speaker 1: or other law enforcement. The commission has identified many important
• 26:39
Speaker 1: members of Epstein's extensive Zorro Ranch staff, network, and a
• 26:43
Speaker 1: handful of others. However, the number is certainly considerably larger
• 26:47
Speaker 1: and will no doubt grow as review of the EFTA
• 26:50
Speaker 1: documents and subpoena returns continue. Identification of Zorro Ranch staff
• 26:55
Speaker 1: is crucial. as employees and contractors may have information or
• 26:59
Speaker 1: knowledge about activity at the ranch and the conditions and
• 27:03
Speaker 1: circumstances that facilitated Epstein's criminal wrongdoing. Moreover, only a few
• 27:09
Speaker 1: of these employees and contractors were known to have ever
• 27:12
Speaker 1: spoken to law enforcement. Zorro Ranch was operational from the mid-90s,
• 27:18
Speaker 1: and key players in Epstein's orbit, including Maxwell and Dyken Kahn,
• 27:22
Speaker 1: involved themselves in daily management and operations of the ranch.
• 27:26
Speaker 1: as did Epstein himself. They also gave close attention to
• 27:29
Speaker 1: personnel and staffing decisions. For example, Kahn emailed Epstein on
• 27:34
Speaker 1: September 19, 2012, with the subject line, Zorro Payroll, informing Epstein,
• 27:40
Speaker 1: I believe that this payroll has gotten very frothy. Seems
• 27:43
Speaker 1: strange that our new housekeeper, Cynthia, who's been with us
• 27:46
Speaker 1: for two weeks, makes more money than Luella. Epstein and
• 27:50
Speaker 1: Zorro Ranch management paid close attention to ranch employees and
• 27:54
Speaker 1: contractors and and closely monitored outside contracts. They were particularly
• 27:59
Speaker 1: alert to press inquiries. For instance, on March 12, 2011,
• 28:03
Speaker 1: Karen Gordon emailed Epstein with the subject, FYI. In the email,
• 28:08
Speaker 1: Gordon relayed that a reflexologist providing foot massages at the
• 28:12
Speaker 1: ranch had been contacted by phone the day before by
• 28:16
Speaker 1: a Los Angeles reporter who was looking for information on
• 28:19
Speaker 1: GM and yourself. The reflexologist acknowledged nothing and said, asked
• 28:25
Speaker 1: how he got her number. Gordon had Wendy Martinez forward
• 28:29
Speaker 1: the reporter's details to Epstein. Some Zorro Ranch employees lived
• 28:33
Speaker 1: on the ranch itself. Ranch employees were issued cell phones
• 28:37
Speaker 1: and some had use of permanent ranch vehicles. Epstein was
• 28:41
Speaker 1: particular about who could and could not enter the main residence.
• 28:45
Speaker 1: Some employees had access to the main residence, while Epstein
• 28:49
Speaker 1: directed that other employees were disallowed entrance to the main residence.
• 28:53
Speaker 1: Epstein required employees and contractors to sign non-disclosure agreements purportedly
• 28:58
Speaker 1: to protect the privacy of his frequent celebrity guests. Epstein
• 29:03
Speaker 1: often gave employees, including low-level employees, significant annual bonuses, sometimes
• 29:08
Speaker 1: comprising more than 10% of their annual compensation. Again, the
• 29:13
Speaker 1: email capture only go back to 2009, and an understanding
• 29:17
Speaker 1: of Zorro Ranch employees before then is not fully disclosed.
• 29:22
Speaker 1: Some of the only evidence detailing activity prior to 2009
• 29:25
Speaker 1: was obtained through interviews of a reflexologist and massage therapist,
• 29:30
Speaker 1: both of whom were retained through outside contacts to provide
• 29:33
Speaker 1: services on an as-needed basis. Key Zorro Ranch employees thus
• 29:38
Speaker 1: far identified include the following. Bryce Gordon. Gordon is a
• 29:43
Speaker 1: New Zealand national who co-managed Epstein's New Mexico and Virgin
• 29:47
Speaker 1: Islands properties alongside his wife Karen from approximately 2003 to 2019.
• 29:53
Speaker 1: Originally based at Zorro Ranch before relocating to Little St.
• 29:56
Speaker 1: James by 2016, Gordon and his wife were responsible for
• 30:01
Speaker 1: ranch operations and maintenance, including oversight of employees and contractors,
• 30:06
Speaker 1: vehicle maintenance, and construction projects. The FBI interviewed Gordon on
• 30:11
Speaker 1: February 8, 2007. Gordon stated he had worked on Zorro
• 30:16
Speaker 1: Ranch for four years. He stated that there were five
• 30:19
Speaker 1: to six full-time employees and some seasonal employees. He stated
• 30:24
Speaker 1: that Epstein spent approximately 50 days a year on the ranch,
• 30:27
Speaker 1: usually in the summer. He would show up with 24
• 30:30
Speaker 1: to 48 hours notice, staying for two to three weeks
• 30:33
Speaker 1: at a time. Epstein arrived by aircraft to Albuquerque or
• 30:37
Speaker 1: Santa Fe and would be driven to the ranch. He
• 30:40
Speaker 1: was accompanied by his personal assistant, his bodyguard, his personal trainer,
• 30:45
Speaker 1: and sometimes his masseuses. He traveled around the ranch by helicopter.
• 30:50
Speaker 1: Gordon was directed to build a spa massage place on
• 30:53
Speaker 1: Little St. James Island. and also had knowledge of Epstein's
• 30:56
Speaker 1: ballet and massage room construction on Little St. James Island.
• 31:01
Speaker 1: Records also show that 19 panels of SoftSounds Class A
• 31:06
Speaker 1: studio foam soundproofing material costing $ 5, 700 was shipped to Gordon.
• 31:11
Speaker 1: Deutsche Bank wire transfers indicate that Gordon received approximately $ 200, 000
• 31:16
Speaker 1: a year through a company called Lee McKenzie Consultants, LLC.
• 31:21
Speaker 1: In a June 21, 2009 email, Epstein chastises Marcinkova for
• 31:26
Speaker 1: treating Gordon disrespectfully and suggests Gordon threatened to quit, a
• 31:30
Speaker 1: result Epstein did not want. Epstein made Gordon a bequest
• 31:34
Speaker 1: of $ 2 million through his August 2019 trust. Karen Gordon
• 31:40
Speaker 1: Gordon is a New Zealand national who co-managed Epstein's property
• 31:43
Speaker 1: alongside her husband, Bryce Gordon. Originally based in Zorro Ranch
• 31:47
Speaker 1: before locating to Little St. James by 2016. She was
• 31:52
Speaker 1: involved in the day-to-day operation and logistics for Epstein's Island,
• 31:56
Speaker 1: the States, through 2019. Carlos Delgado Delgado was a ZDC
• 32:02
Speaker 1: employee who was hired July 16, 2012. In an email
• 32:06
Speaker 1: to Epstein dated June 12, 2012, Bryce Gordon said Delgado
• 32:11
Speaker 1: was hired as seasonal help. He stated that Delgado was
• 32:14
Speaker 1: not to work in the main house. His wife Norma
• 32:17
  Speaker 1: was briefly employed July 16, 2012. to August 12, 2012,
• 32:23
Speaker 1: with the idea that she and her husband would reside
• 32:25
Speaker 1: on the ranch in a partially furnished house. Manolito Royal
• 32:31
Speaker 1: Royal was employed by ZDC as a Zorro Ranch staff
• 32:34
Speaker 1: member from January 1, 1996 until June 2012. Manolito was
• 32:40
Speaker 1: involved in operational and maintenance matters such as receiving estimates
• 32:44
Speaker 1: for home repair, pool maintenance, vehicle maintenance, and picking up
• 32:47
Speaker 1: visitors from the Santa Fe airport. On October 8, 2010,
• 32:52
Speaker 1: Epstein was informed by email that Manolito had relocated a
• 32:56
Speaker 1: rock carving found on Zorro Ranch, and that as of
• 32:59
Speaker 1: December 2008, all rock art on Zorro had been recorded
• 33:03
Speaker 1: with the Archaeological Society of New Mexico Rock Art Council.
• 33:08
Speaker 1: One of Manolito's regular duties was to check and clean
• 33:11
Speaker 1: guns on a weekly basis. This responsibility was communicated to
• 33:16
Speaker 1: Manolito by written checklists by Ranch Management. James and Nina Herrera.
• 33:22
Speaker 1: The Herreras were husband and wife interviewed as replacements for
• 33:27
Speaker 1: addition to the Gordons. It was contemplated that they manage
• 33:31
Speaker 1: at least some of the ranch. It's not clear whether
• 33:33
Speaker 1: they were ever employed. Amber Chavez. Chavez was a ZDC
• 33:39
Speaker 1: employee who was hired August 27th, 2012 as a security guard.
• 33:44
Speaker 1: According to an FBI tactical intelligence report dated August 12th, 2020,
• 33:49
Speaker 1: On June 16, 2020, a man and woman from Artesia,
• 33:53
Speaker 1: New Mexico, attempted to burgle the Zorro Ranch property. The
• 33:57
Speaker 1: couple attempted to break into a storage container at the
• 34:01
Speaker 1: Zorro Ranch property. Property security guards Amber Chavez and Cynthia
• 34:06
Speaker 1: Cano contacted the Santa Fe County Sheriff's Department, leading to
• 34:10
Speaker 1: the burglar's arrest. Steve Chavez Chavez was a ZDC employee
• 34:15
Speaker 1: who was hired October 19, 2009. In an email dated
• 34:18
Speaker 1: June 11, 2018, from a person whose name was redacted
• 34:22
Speaker 1: to Larry Vesoski, Leslie Groff, Darren Indyke, Richard Kahn, Bella Klein,
• 34:28
Speaker 1: Carlos Zolrak, and Steve Chavez, the sender acknowledges receipt of
• 34:32
Speaker 1: an old email from Larry Vesoski informing, We will depart
• 34:36
Speaker 1: Santa Fe at 7 p.m. tonight, Monday arrival, Atlantic PB1,
• 34:39
Speaker 1: 1215 AM N212JE. These flight plans were later changed to
• 34:47
Speaker 1: reflect a different departure and arrival time on June 12, 2018.
• 34:52
Speaker 1: Cynthia Canoe Canoe was a ZDC employee who was hired
• 34:56
Speaker 1: September 4, 2012, to be a housekeeper. In an email
• 35:00
Speaker 1: from Epstein to a person whose name was redacted what
• 35:03
Speaker 1: appears to be Karen Gordon, Canoe was hired to be
• 35:05
Speaker 1: a housekeeper with the understanding that she would live off-site
• 35:09
Speaker 1: and would be provided a cell phone. Bradley Royster Royster
• 35:14
Speaker 1: was a ZDC employee who was hired September 17, 2012.
• 35:19
Speaker 1: He was employed as a ranch hand and lived on
• 35:21
Speaker 1: the ranch. He was terminated March 10, 2013 due to
• 35:25
Speaker 1: ranch operation restructuring. Prior to his termination, Karen Gordon and
• 35:30
Speaker 1: Darren Indyke exchanged emails. Indyke sought information about Royster's employment
• 35:35
Speaker 1: and about the accounts and sensitive material he could access
• 35:39
Speaker 1: before approving the termination. Wendy Martinez Martinez worked as staff
• 35:44
Speaker 1: member for Epstein from 2011 until June 2012, when she
• 35:50
Speaker 1: resigned by email. She worked directly with Epstein on matters
• 35:53
Speaker 1: relating to ranch maintenance and operation. She also communicated with
• 35:57
Speaker 1: Richard Kahn on matters related to property management. She exchanged
• 36:02
Speaker 1: emails with Sarah Kellen and others regarding Epstein flight plans,
• 36:06
Speaker 1: guest arrivals, and supplies. For example, on July 7, 2011,
• 36:11
Speaker 1: She exchanged emails with Sarah, probably Sarah Kellan, regarding lodgings
• 36:15
Speaker 1: for Epstein's guest and Aspen, Colorado venture capitalist and longtime
• 36:20
Speaker 1: Epstein associate Joe Pagano. On June 18th, 2012, Martinez resigned
• 36:26
Speaker 1: without notice stating, I have always enjoyed my job and
• 36:29
Speaker 1: all aspects of it. I feel that I was an
• 36:31
Speaker 1: asset here for you and your guests. Unfortunately, there are
• 36:35
Speaker 1: other people that think differently and they have done their
• 36:38
Speaker 1: best to make sure I do not further myself here
• 36:40
Speaker 1: or you. I can no longer do my job at
• 36:43
Speaker 1: 100% with the controlling, deceitful, demeaning, and distrusting ways that
• 36:48
Speaker 1: are put in front of me daily. It was mentally
• 36:50
Speaker 1: and physically exhausting, me and making me sick, so I
• 36:53
Speaker 1: will walk away from here so that these people can
• 36:56
Speaker 1: control your ranch as they see fit. Wendy Nunn Nunn
• 37:00
Speaker 1: was a Zorro Ranch employee with a hired date of
• 37:03
Speaker 1: January 10, 2005, who was employed at least through 2010.
• 37:08
Speaker 1: Little else is known about her. Corinna Shuliak Shuliac, a
• 37:13
Speaker 1: Belarus native and naturalized U.S. citizen, was a dentist who
• 37:17
Speaker 1: was reportedly Epstein's girlfriend. While Shuliac was not a formal,
• 37:21
Speaker 1: salaried employee of Epstein, she did hold roles that were
• 37:24
Speaker 1: functionally part of Epstein's personal and business operation. Epstein used
• 37:29
Speaker 1: his influence and prominence of a $ 5- 10 million donation to
• 37:33
Speaker 1: get Shuliac admitted to Columbia University's dental school after she
• 37:37
Speaker 1: was initially rejected. A DOJ document shows Epstein made $ 631, 000
• 37:41
Speaker 1: in tuition payments to Shuliac alone. Shuliac was the largest
• 37:46
Speaker 1: individual beneficiary of Epstein's estate. In Epstein's final trust, August 8, 2019,
• 37:53
Speaker 1: Shuliac received $ 50 million in cash plus a $ 50 million annuity,
• 37:58
Speaker 1: all six Epstein properties, with $ 5 million in operating funds
• 38:03
Speaker 1: per property, 48 loose diamonds, and 32. 73- carat D-VS1 diamond rings.
• 38:11
Speaker 1: Between 2013 and 2016, Chuliak's parents in Belarus received at
• 38:16
Speaker 1: least 80,000 from Epstein. Chuliak was reportedly the last person
• 38:20
Speaker 1: Epstein called from prison before his death. Massage therapists and masseuses.
• 38:25
Speaker 1: The masseuses were not normally flown to the ranch, but
• 38:28
Speaker 1: were hired by Epstein's assistants, who also kept financial records
• 38:32
Speaker 1: and usually arranged the massages. The names of the masseuses
• 38:36
Speaker 1: were obtained from 10,000 Waves Day Spa or by referrals.
• 38:40
Speaker 1: The assistant, name redacted, said that the masseuses are all
• 38:43
Speaker 1: checked out and that they are all professionals who are
• 38:46
Speaker 1: licensed massage therapists. Approximately five different therapists were used in
• 38:51
Speaker 1: the past. The working and personal relationships among those responsible
• 38:55
Speaker 1: for management and operation of Zorro Ranch were primarily among Epstein, Maxwell, Indyke, Kahn, Groff, Kellen, Marcinkova,
• 39:04
Speaker 1: Bryce and Karen Gordon, Larry Vysotsky, and Rogers. A chart
• 39:08
Speaker 1: representing these relationships is depicted below. Alright folks, we're going
• 39:13
Speaker 1: to wrap up right there. And in the next episode
• 39:15
Speaker 1: dealing with a topic we're going to pick up where
• 39:17
Speaker 1: we left off. All the information that goes with this
• 39:20
Speaker 1: episode can be found in the description box. What's up
• 39:24
Speaker 1: everyone and welcome to another episode of the Epstein Chronicles.
• 39:28
Speaker 1: In this episode we're picking up... up where we left
• 39:30
Speaker 1: off with the New Mexico interim report about Jeffrey Epstein
• 39:35
Speaker 1: and Zorro Ranch, Zorro Ranch contractors. Epstein through ZDC with
• 39:41
Speaker 1: oversight by Bryce Gordon sometimes retain contractors to perform seasonal, temporary,
• 39:47
Speaker 1: or specialized work at the ranch. Some of this work
• 39:51
Speaker 1: is documented or otherwise reflected in documentation available under the
• 39:55
Speaker 1: EFTA and other sources. To date, the Commission has been
• 39:59
Speaker 1: able to identify or partially identify some of these contractors
• 40:04
Speaker 1: who include Casey Cook. Casey Cook is a hydrogeologist retained
• 40:10
Speaker 1: between 2012 and at least 2018 to assess and offer
• 40:14
Speaker 1: recommendations regarding Zora Ranch water distribution capabilities. She entered into
• 40:19
Speaker 1: a well-drilling contract with ZDC in July of 2012. Mike.
• 40:25
Speaker 1: Mike was assigned the task of sketching shelves in the
• 40:28
Speaker 1: massage room and sending them to Epstein. It's not clear
• 40:31
Speaker 1: what year these tasks were assigned, but the task list
• 40:34
Speaker 1: appears to cover a four-month period of time. Mike and
• 40:37
Speaker 1: Jeff were assigned the task of hanging picture lights ordered
• 40:41
Speaker 1: for the residents. Purchased 70-inch picture light is needed for
• 40:45
Speaker 1: the painting of the girl in the main stair hall.
• 40:48
Speaker 1: Order for 30-inch lights per GM. Another assigned task was
• 40:53
Speaker 1: purchase 52-inch picture light of the girl in the princess staircase. Jeff.
• 41:00
Speaker 1: Jeff was assigned the following task. When painting of the
• 41:03
Speaker 1: Spanish nude with black hair arrives, it's to be hung
• 41:06
Speaker 1: in front of the telescope. Send pictures to J.E. first.
• 41:10
Speaker 1: Unidentified reflexologist. Nam redacted. This unidentified reflexologist was retained to
• 41:17
Speaker 1: perform reflexology services on Epstein and Maxwell between 1999 and 2008.
• 41:23
Speaker 1: The reflexologist did not go to the ranch regularly, only
• 41:27
Speaker 1: whenever they were in town and a total of approximately
• 41:30
Speaker 1: 30 times over 9 years. The reflexologist worked primarily on
• 41:35
Speaker 1: Maxwell and only 3 times on Epstein over the course
• 41:39
Speaker 1: of 9 years. At some point, Maxwell or a housekeeper
• 41:43
Speaker 1: asked the reflexologist to sign a non-disclosure agreement, but she
• 41:47
Speaker 1: refused to do it. On subsequent visits to the ranch,
• 41:51
Speaker 1: she was asked to sign the non-disclosure agreement, but refused
• 41:54
Speaker 1: to do so, and eventually decided not to go back
• 41:57
Speaker 1: to the ranch after learning of Epstein's 2008 arrest. Travel
• 42:02
Speaker 1: to the Ranch Flight Logs Flight logs reflect a total
• 42:05
Speaker 1: of 227 flights occurring between December 3, 1992 and and
• 42:10
Speaker 1: May 27th, 2019, to or from Albuquerque and Santa Fe
• 42:16
Speaker 1: on aircraft owned by Epstein. Of these 110 flights, where
• 42:20
Speaker 1: flights to or from Albuquerque and 119 flights to or
• 42:24
Speaker 1: from Santa Fe. Logs include information about the origin of
• 42:28
Speaker 1: the flights, the destination, the date, the aircraft used, the pilots,
• 42:33
Speaker 1: and passengers on each flight. It cannot be assumed that
• 42:36
Speaker 1: information on the flight, logs are complete or accurate, as
• 42:40
Speaker 1: it appears in many cases that information was omitted. For example,
• 42:44
Speaker 1: flight logs for 80 of the flights include no passenger information.
• 42:49
Speaker 1: Origin of flights include airports from New York, New Jersey,
• 42:52
Speaker 1: Palm Beach, Florida, the Virgin Islands, Los Angeles, Texas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Seattle,
• 42:59
Speaker 1: and Spokane, St. Louis, Missouri, Indianapolis, Columbus, Tucson, Salt Lake City,
• 43:06
Speaker 1: San Jose, Aspen, and Honolulu. Flight logs reflect that Epstein
• 43:11
Speaker 1: was a passenger on 140 of the flights, Maxwell shown
• 43:14
Speaker 1: to be a passenger on 94 of the flights. Other
• 43:17
Speaker 1: frequent flyers include Sarah Kellan, 44 flights, Marcinkova, 21 flights,
• 43:23
Speaker 1: Leslie Groff, on 5 flights. Other notable flight passengers include
• 43:28
Speaker 1: Bill Clinton, 1 flight, Bill Richardson, 5 flights, and Woody
• 43:32
Speaker 1: Allen and Sunyi Previn, 2 flights. Additional information would be
• 43:37
Speaker 1: necessary to establish if whether any of those passengers involved
• 43:40
Speaker 1: visited Zorro Ranch. Bill Clinton has a big problem. I've
• 43:45
Speaker 1: told you from the beginning, he lied. He did. He
• 43:49
Speaker 1: was at the ranch. So what was he lying about,
• 43:51
Speaker 1: and why? The commission continues to review records and may
• 43:56
Speaker 1: revise the facts stated above, especially should the commission receive
• 44:00
Speaker 1: documentation from the FAA. Zorro Ranch Visitors Information about persons
• 44:06
Speaker 1: who visited Zorro Ranch as guests of Epstein is drawn
• 44:09
Speaker 1: primarily from flight logs and email correspondence. As noted, the
• 44:14
Speaker 1: flight logs and email correspondence are incomplete and sometimes inaccurate.
• 44:19
Speaker 1: Email correspondence document coordination of visits to Zorro Ranch by
• 44:23
Speaker 1: several notable individuals. These emails confirm scheduling or travel arrangements
• 44:29
Speaker 1: but are insufficient in themselves to document what occurred during
• 44:32
Speaker 1: the visits. Available documentation captures only visitors whose names appear
• 44:38
Speaker 1: on the flight logs, in Epstein's email archive, or in
• 44:41
Speaker 1: legal filings. Visitors who arrived without email coordination who visited
• 44:46
Speaker 1: before 2009 or whose names were redacted are not represented.
• 44:51
Speaker 1: The Commission's subpoena power may surface a more complete record.
• 44:55
Speaker 1: Flight logs alone may be insufficient to prove a person
• 44:58
Speaker 1: visited Zorro Ranch, but may corroborate scheduling information found in
• 45:02
Speaker 1: Epstein's email. Firearms on Zorro Ranch. Available documentation indicates that
• 45:10
Speaker 1: Epstein was in possession of firearms both before and after
• 45:14
Speaker 1: his 2008 Florida felony conviction for solicitation of a prostitute,
• 45:19
Speaker 1: which would have been a federal and state crime. The
• 45:22
Speaker 1: evidence further shows that Epstein maintained and exercised positive control
• 45:27
Speaker 1: of firearms on Zorro Ranch at a time when he
• 45:31
Speaker 1: was a convicted felon. This implicates possible violation of U.S.
• 45:35
  Speaker 1: Code 18 Section 922G1 and NMSA Section 30-7-16B, 2009. The
• 45:45
Speaker 1: EFTA documentation includes a July 2019 policy entitled Policies and
• 45:50
Speaker 1: Protocol for Possessions of Firearm and Ammunition by Security Staff.
• 45:56
Speaker 1: Applicable to security officers, either directly or indirectly employed, to
• 46:01
Speaker 1: secure persons or property of Jeffrey Epstein. The policy establishes
• 46:05
Speaker 1: procedure to ensure that Epstein is not in possession of
• 46:08
Speaker 1: a firearm. The policy expressly states Mr. Epstein is a
• 46:12
Speaker 1: convicted felon, having been convicted in the state of Florida
• 46:16
Speaker 1: of violation of Florida Statute Section 796-03 Secondary Felony and
• 46:19
Speaker 1: Section 796.07 4C-3 Third Degree Felony. The policy goes on
• 46:30
  Speaker 1: to state it's a Class C federal crime for a
• 46:32
Speaker 1: convicted felon to knowingly possess a firearm or ammunition. Up
• 46:37
Speaker 1: until 2016, a shooting range was in operation at Zorro
• 46:41
Speaker 1: Ranch until it was dismantled to make way for an
• 46:44
Speaker 1: expanded irrigation pond. A staff project list dated January 1,
• 46:49
Speaker 1: 2014 includes a task for a shooting range to replace
• 46:53
Speaker 1: plywood on targets, paint targets, edges, and bumpers. Emails show guests,
• 46:58
Speaker 1: with Epstein's knowledge, utilize the shooting range. In a September 29,
• 47:02
Speaker 1: 2009 email to Epstein, his childhood friend, Warren Eisenstein, tells
• 47:08
Speaker 1: Epstein later, I'll meet Manolito at the shooting range for
• 47:11
Speaker 1: some bang-bang fun. Epstein personally directed storage and maintenance of
• 47:16
Speaker 1: the firearms. In a June 8, 2010 email to Bryce Gordon,
• 47:20
Speaker 1: Epstein expressly approved Gordon's recommendation and to relocate the gun
• 47:24
Speaker 1: safe and firearms from the main house and shooting range
• 47:27
Speaker 1: to Larry's garage. Approach is, this land is deeded to Larry,
• 47:32
Speaker 1: therefore guns have been removed from your property. A March 10,
• 47:38
Speaker 1: 2011 email from Epstein to a person whose name was
• 47:40
Speaker 1: redacted states, this email will confirm our conversation, the houseman
• 47:45
Speaker 1: who lives in the staff house being allowed to have
• 47:48
Speaker 1: a firearm. It will not be in the main house
• 47:50
Speaker 1: or in my possession, as we discussed due to the conviction, felony.
• 47:55
Speaker 1: The email strongly suggests Epstein was aware he could not
• 47:58
Speaker 1: lawfully possess a firearm. By a memorandum dated October 25, 2011,
• 48:04
Speaker 1: Galen Vogel, an attorney with the Virgin Islands law firm
• 48:07
Speaker 1: of Hodges & Franchois, prepared a legal analysis for Indyke
• 48:11
Speaker 1: regarding firearm ownership by Epstein's employees. The memo addresses U.S.
• 48:16
Speaker 1: Code 18, Section 922G1. and whether an Epstein employee who
• 48:21
Speaker 1: resided on Epstein's Little St. James may possess a firearm
• 48:25
Speaker 1: for his personal use. The analysis greenlights the possession, but
• 48:29
Speaker 1: in doing so distinguishes personal use from use incident to employment.
• 48:35
Speaker 1: In the latter case, the memorandum makes clear possession is
• 48:38
Speaker 1: not authorized. However, the firearm cannot be used or in
• 48:42
Speaker 1: any way supported by the covered employer. The covered employer
• 48:45
Speaker 1: cannot in any way direct the use of the firearm.
• 48:49
Speaker 1: The employer cannot require the employee to possess a firearm.
• 48:52
Speaker 1: The employee cannot take any direction from the covered employer
• 48:56
Speaker 1: with respect to the firearm. On October 28, 2014, Epstein
• 49:00
Speaker 1: wrote in an email, If the person carrying a gun
• 49:04
Speaker 1: is an employee, there might be an issue. Notwithstanding the
• 49:08
Speaker 1: legal guidance he received and the clear understanding of the
• 49:11
Speaker 1: applicable restrictions, Epstein continued to exercise control of firearms on
• 49:16
Speaker 1: Zorro Ranch. A standing order required the staff to make...
• 49:19
Speaker 1: visual check of gun cabinet every morning, to check gun
• 49:23
Speaker 1: and ammunition inventory every two weeks, and to check gun
• 49:27
Speaker 1: cabinet every month. Two gun cabinets on Zorro Ranch were
• 49:31
Speaker 1: listed in June as being insured by Epstein for $ 57, 529.
• 49:34
Speaker 1: In August of that year, Bryce Gordon was sought Epstein's
• 49:40
Speaker 1: approval to ship shooting supplies to Zorro Ranch. On June 15, 2015,
• 49:46
Speaker 1: Epstein reviewed the status of work done installing gun cabinet panels,
• 49:51
Speaker 1: leather inserts, in the movie room. On August 28, 2018,
• 49:55
Speaker 1: Kahn forwarded Epstein an email he had received from Bryce
• 49:59
Speaker 1: Gordon describing recent inventory of a gun safe on Zorro Ranch.
• 50:03
Speaker 1: The inventory was taken following a theft of firearms that
• 50:06
Speaker 1: had recently occurred. I just wanted to give everyone a
• 50:09
Speaker 1: rundown of what I have done with the gun safe
• 50:12
Speaker 1: and its contents. Cynthia and I looked at each gun
• 50:16
Speaker 1: and compared serial numbers and photos to what was already
• 50:19
Speaker 1: documented in the inventory list. Included in the attachment with
• 50:24
Speaker 1: this email will be another copy of the inventory list,
• 50:27
Speaker 1: which will have the guns we found crossed out and checkmarked.
• 50:31
Speaker 1: We took additional photos of the guns with serial numbers
• 50:34
Speaker 1: make and model If it was available, reference the existing
• 50:38
Speaker 1: inventory list. Epstein's apparent interest in the status and whereabouts
• 50:43
Speaker 1: of the firearms he owned may constitute a level of
• 50:45
Speaker 1: control constituting possession of firearms in violation of state and
• 50:50
Speaker 1: federal law. Additional investigation will be necessary to determine whether
• 50:55
Speaker 1: Epstein unlawfully possessed firearms. All right, folks, we're going to
• 50:59
Speaker 1: wrap up right here. And in the next episode, we're
• 51:01
Speaker 1: going to pick up where we left off. All the
• 51:03
Speaker 1: information that goes with this episode can be found in
• 51:07
  Speaker 1: the description box.
