- 0:14SPEAKER_00: Hi, guys.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: What keeps you up at night?
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: Is it the fact that all your expenses keep going up and it's hard to make ends meet?
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: Or maybe it's worries from your own home, like your kids, your marriage, or your relationships?
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: With all the uncertainty in the world today,
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: the future can be pretty unsettling, to say the least.
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: And why is it so easy to worry?
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: Well, I think it's the unknown.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: We don't know how something's going to turn out,
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: so usually we're thinking of all the things that can go wrong.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: Thankfully, God goes before us.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: How do I know this?
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: Well, there are times in the Bible where it speaks of God going before us.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: In Deuteronomy chapter 31,
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: Moses is speaking to the Israelites,
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: and he's telling them that he has come to the end of his life,
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: and Joshua's the one who's going to lead them into the Promised Land.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: In verse 3,
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: he tells the people,
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: and you shall dispossess them."
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: And a few verses later,
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: Moses speaks directly to his successor Joshua in front of everyone, and he said,
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: "And the Lord, He is the one who goes before you.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: He will be with you.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: He will not leave you nor forsake you.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: Do not fear nor be dismayed."
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: What a comfort!
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: I love that verse.
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: This phrase,
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: "He goes before us,"
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: it means He knows every detail of my future and He's in control of it all.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: You know, God is all-knowing, so He knows past, present, and future.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: Psalms 139 tells us that He knew every day of our lives before we were ever even born.
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: It means He's also preparing me to handle whatever's going to be coming my way.
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: Since He knows my future, He knows my path and how I'm going to get there.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: He's already taking care of whatever we're going to need for the journey.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: And you know, He leads us through the darkness of the valleys.
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: And He holds on to us when we're walking just a couple of inches from the edge of that cliff.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: He guides us through the dense forest when we're just struggling
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: because we can't find a clear path.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: Well, as we wrap it up today, what's got you tied in knots?
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: Whatever it is, you don't have to fear.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: You're not alone and you don't have to be overwhelmed.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: You just have to trust in the One who's already gone before you because I'm going
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: to be doing the same.
