- 1:30Speaker 2: Go to gotommys.com. How excited were you just now?
- 1:35Speaker 1: You know, when he started talking, and I was like,
- 1:38Speaker 1: he seems so much nicer about Tommy than he did
- 1:40Speaker 1: to me when I walked in. But also, I was like,
- 1:42Speaker 1: we haven't had a Tommy. We haven't had a, I
- 1:44Speaker 1: don't know, positivity's not for everybody. We haven't had a
- 1:47Speaker 1: Tommy's call out in forever. How we doing today, guys?
- 1:50Speaker 2: Monday.
- 1:51Speaker 1: All right. I brought you candy.
- 1:54Speaker 5: Oh, thank you, buddy.
- 1:55Speaker 1: I stole it from River's office.
- 1:56Speaker 5: These don't look like meat sticks.
- 1:58Speaker 6: Candy from just your pocket? Are they butterscotch or disc?
- 2:01Speaker 1: Yeah, there was a white van outside, and he gave
- 2:03Speaker 1: them to me. They should be fine.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Pop them in.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Or don't because we're on air. I forgot about that.
- 2:07Speaker 7: If you don't bring meat sticks next week, Marlar Monday
- 2:10Speaker 7: is canceled. We had this conversation last week. That was
- 2:13Speaker 7: the condition.
- 2:14Speaker 1: You're going to cancel Marlar Monday on the wedding week?
- 2:16Speaker 1: That sucks.
- 2:16Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:17Speaker 1: That's fine.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Congratulations. Do you get married? No. Yes.
- 2:24Speaker 1: To the game.
- 2:26Speaker 5: So I honestly don't know if you are or not.
- 2:28Speaker 1: I am.
- 2:29Speaker 2: What game is that?
- 2:29Speaker 1: Next Friday. All right, dude. Yeah.
- 2:33Speaker 6: He's getting married.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Football season.
- 2:34Speaker 1: I'm getting married on a Friday, and Saturday we're having
- 2:36Speaker 1: a massive tailgate at the house. It's going to be awesome.
- 2:38Speaker 5: Sweet.
- 2:39Speaker 1: There'll be no slander at our wedding.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Because LSU's playing Auburn.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Also going to be awesome. We get to find out
- 2:43Speaker 1: the schedule today, but I know that game's at 11. Oh, yeah.
- 2:47Speaker 2: What game are you waiting on?
- 2:49Speaker 1: The rest of them.
- 2:50Speaker 2: A Darty?
- 2:50Speaker 5: Well, he's got a lot of teams.
- 2:51Speaker 1: The rest of them.
- 2:52Speaker 5: Alabama, South Carolina. I know.
- 2:55Speaker 1: You guys keep saying a lot. It's just the two.
- 2:57Speaker 1: It's just the.
- 2:57Speaker 2: And the three. And it's Auburn, too.
- 2:59Speaker 5: I don't hold for Auburn.
- 3:00Speaker 2: You married into it. You have an Auburn... You have
- 3:02Speaker 2: an Auburn hat that you wear.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Hey, listen, here's the deal.
- 3:05Speaker 6: I've seen you wear it multiple times.
- 3:06Speaker 1: And that's fine. But also, she needs a ring. She's
- 3:09Speaker 1: an Auburn fan.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Okay?
- 3:11Speaker 1: True.
- 3:11Speaker 6: Hey, they just added like five like last year.
- 3:13Speaker 2: That's crazy.
- 3:14Speaker 1: And I am not in a place that I'm allowed
- 3:15Speaker 1: to make fun of that. But that's crazy.
- 3:17Speaker 5: But here's the deal. Sometimes you also like.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Alabama fans crazy to claim champions.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Well, I mean, a couple of those, they were on probation,
- 3:25Speaker 1: couldn't even be on TV. That's insane to me. They're like, 93?
- 3:29Speaker 1: We went 11-0? Weren't even allowed to be on Jefferson Pilot? Yeah,
- 3:31Speaker 1: we'll take that. That's insane.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Did they claim it in 2004? 2004.
- 3:35Speaker 1: I want to remind everyone of this. That's the biggest fraud,
- 3:39Speaker 1: I think, of all time. The biggest lie to college
- 3:43Speaker 1: football nostalgia is that they were the best team in
- 3:46Speaker 1: the country that year. Or that they were denied a
- 3:49Speaker 1: shot and it was unfair. Because the SEC had not
- 3:51Speaker 1: started that run yet. They were still very good. I
- 3:53Speaker 1: know they were very good.
- 3:53Speaker 2: They played against them. They were really good.
- 3:55Speaker 1: But you know that Oklahoma and USC started out one
- 3:58Speaker 1: and two in the country that year. Both went undefeated.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Both had a strength of schedule ranked in the top 11.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Auburn's was 55th. And three out of the five or
- 4:07Speaker 1: three out of the four Heisman finalists were on those
- 4:09Speaker 1: two teams. Not to mention USC beat the crap out
- 4:12Speaker 1: of Auburn the year before. I think it's a big lie.
- 4:15Speaker 1: That's all it is.
- 4:16Speaker 2: You ever studied that before? A lot. Doesn't sound like it.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Me and Connor did a deep dive on that one time.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Oh, man.
- 4:23Speaker 1: It was spearheaded by me and my hate.
- 4:25Speaker 5: So you and Connor, you and you.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:29Speaker 5: You do often just, like, claim that you just cover
- 4:32Speaker 5: South Carolina.
- 4:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:34Speaker 5: But, like, you also cover LSU.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Do I?
- 4:37Speaker 1: No one told me that. I was specifically told I'd
- 4:40Speaker 1: cover the SEC.
- 4:41Speaker 5: Oh, okay.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:42Speaker 5: Sorry.
- 4:43Speaker 6: Told not to write about LSU.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Yes. All right.
- 4:47Speaker 5: Specifically.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Since you cover the SEC, what do you make of
- 4:50Speaker 2: the SEC? Because right now.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Texas is in trouble.
- 4:54Speaker 2: Okay.
- 4:54Speaker 5: Is anybody good? Georgia.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Georgia's good.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Georgia's awesome.
- 4:58Speaker 2: Alabama still looks like they're good. Missouri, Kentucky, they look good.
- 5:04Speaker 2: Mississippi State looks good.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:08Speaker 2: LSU just lost to Kentucky.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Florida, oof.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Last two games. I don't know. What do you make?
- 5:15Speaker 2: I SEC, is it Georgia space, Alabama space, space, everybody else?
- 5:20Speaker 1: No, I don't think it, because I think Bama's got
- 5:22Speaker 1: some flaws for sure. I don't Georgia. It's not that
- 5:25Speaker 1: I don't think they have flaws. I mean, they, they
- 5:27Speaker 1: could have easily lost that game on Saturday. If a
- 5:29Speaker 1: couple of things went another way, but they didn't. And
- 5:32Speaker 1: that's what championship teams do. So like, I understand all
- 5:35Speaker 1: the frustration with some of the calls from the refs.
- 5:37Speaker 1: I think that was fair and valid. Like it is
- 5:39Speaker 1: in most games, but like, The pass interference call that
- 5:43Speaker 1: wasn't called in the end zone was crazy. But at
- 5:46Speaker 1: the same time, don't take a sack on the next
- 5:48Speaker 1: play and knock yourself out of field goal range. So
- 5:51Speaker 1: there's things like that that I think are, you know,
- 5:54Speaker 1: for Bama fans, I think they probably don't want to
- 5:56Speaker 1: hear all of that. Georgia is not going to get
- 5:58Speaker 1: tested the rest of the year.
- 5:59Speaker 2: I mean, they don't.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Like, they get Ole Miss on the road. Maybe that'll
- 6:03Speaker 1: be a test. But, like, they play Florida. That looks
- 6:07Speaker 1: a lot easier than it did two weeks ago.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Right.
- 6:10Speaker 1: It looked great two weeks ago. Man, John Summerall, my man.
- 6:14Speaker 1: He didn't sleep at all this weekend.
- 6:15Speaker 6: Bro, we were talking about a minimum four days of
- 6:18Speaker 6: sleep for John Summerall.
- 6:19Speaker 5: Yeah, of course.
- 6:20Speaker 1: But he also slept on all four of those days,
- 6:21Speaker 1: but only for an hour and a half. He's on
- 6:23Speaker 1: an infant cycle.
- 6:24Speaker 6: You think John Summerall's upset?
- 6:25Speaker 5: He'll tell you about it.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, for sure. Also, let me tell you how
- 6:28Speaker 1: crazy Florida fans are, Jacob. I had no idea you
- 6:30Speaker 1: two were right this entire time, how awful their fans are.
- 6:34Speaker 1: I didn't say that they were a bad team. I
- 6:36Speaker 1: made fun of John Summerall, their coach. And I had
- 6:39Speaker 1: a Florida fan dox my address on Twitter on Saturday
- 6:44Speaker 1: because of how mad he was about the loss. In
- 6:47Speaker 1: a game he didn't play, for a team he doesn't
- 6:50Speaker 1: play for, for a school he probably didn't go to.
- 6:53Speaker 1: That was crazy. You don't know what dox means?
- 6:56Speaker 7: Okay, so dox, like, they put his address on the internet. Or, like,
- 7:02Speaker 7: if you were an anonymous page or whatever.
- 7:05Speaker 2: It's pretty easy to get an address. I have people
- 7:07Speaker 2: send me stuff all the time. Sick.
- 7:08Speaker 1: I don't think you should condone it.
- 7:10Speaker 2: No, it's not great. I'm just saying it's easier than
- 7:13Speaker 2: you think.
- 7:13Speaker 1: It's also easy just to not do that because you're
- 7:15Speaker 1: upset about a football game.
- 7:17Speaker 2: For sure.
- 7:19Speaker 1: The SEC stuff, I think Texas has had problems. I
- 7:23Speaker 1: don't think Arch is that good.
- 7:25Speaker 5: He's not very good right now.
- 7:26Speaker 1: I do love the confidence he has to still just
- 7:30Speaker 1: fire that. pigskin, deep, like a tie game. And it's
- 7:35Speaker 1: like 15 yards overthrown.
- 7:37Speaker 2: And look, when I say this, I realize that I'm
- 7:39Speaker 2: probably saying it because I fell into this category a
- 7:42Speaker 2: little bit. I love the fact that all these quarterbacks
- 7:45Speaker 2: and all these rankings and all these and Gunnar Stockton
- 7:50Speaker 2: with a seeding hairline and his old truck is the
- 7:53Speaker 2: best quarterback right now. He's not the most talented, blah, blah.
- 7:57Speaker 2: I don't care. Like if Like, he's just like a
- 8:00Speaker 2: calming force.
- 8:01Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 8:02Speaker 2: He plays well in big games. He makes plays when
- 8:04Speaker 2: he has to. He's not– look, is he an NFL quarterback? Maybe.
- 8:09Speaker 2: I don't know that. There's other quarterbacks that are for
- 8:11Speaker 2: sure NFL quarterbacks in the SEC. But, man, I would
- 8:14Speaker 2: love to have him behind my center if I'm a
- 8:17Speaker 2: head coach.
- 8:18Speaker 1: He's 9 of 10 on third down.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:20Speaker 1: And they were in third and long a decent amount.
- 8:22Speaker 1: 9 of 10. Yeah. He had– I think the funniest
- 8:25Speaker 1: part to me with Gunnar was, like– After the game,
- 8:28Speaker 1: there was this video that went viral, or, like, social
- 8:30Speaker 1: media clip that went viral of, like, Keelan Russell waits
- 8:33Speaker 1: for Gunnar Sockton after just to show him, like, mad respect. And, like,
- 8:38Speaker 1: it was cool and all, but they didn't have a moment.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Gunnar was like, all right, dude. Thanks, man. And he just, like,
- 8:44Speaker 1: walked out.
- 8:45Speaker 6: Like, that was it.
- 8:45Speaker 1: That's pretty much what he did. He was like, cool,
- 8:47Speaker 1: see you later.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Have you ever talked to him? Yeah. That's about what
- 8:50Speaker 2: you're going to get.
- 8:50Speaker 1: Very cut and dry.
- 8:51Speaker 2: But his teammates love the guy.
- 8:54Speaker 6: To your point, Jake, like, whenever these QB rankings come
- 8:57Speaker 6: out this week, it's going to be a bigger discussion
- 8:59Speaker 6: of who's two.
- 9:00Speaker 5: On that list.
- 9:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Like number one, you're right.
- 9:03Speaker 6: Number one's pretty cut and dry behind Lenore sellers.
- 9:05Speaker 2: You're right.
- 9:06Speaker 4: Oh yeah.
- 9:07Speaker 2: And like, it's not to say that Trinidad Chambliss isn't awesome.
- 9:09Speaker 2: He is. Russell's awesome. Lenore is his Jacqueline high, but
- 9:13Speaker 2: his good, his high is really high. And so it's
- 9:15Speaker 2: really low. But again, like, I know exactly what I'm
- 9:19Speaker 2: getting from Gunner Stockton. And not like middle of the road.
- 9:21Speaker 2: It's always good.
- 9:22Speaker 1: Well, and here's the thing, too. Going into that game,
- 9:24Speaker 1: I was kind of needling some Georgia fans about this.
- 9:26Speaker 1: And it's just all factual information. Like, going into the game,
- 9:29Speaker 1: their whole thing is they're throwing screen passes behind the
- 9:32Speaker 1: line of scrimmage. They're throwing things within 10 yards. Like,
- 9:35Speaker 1: 82% of his completions were from 10 yards or in.
- 9:40Speaker 1: 48% were behind the line of scrimmage. He goes out there,
- 9:42Speaker 1: and I knew what the plan was going to be
- 9:44Speaker 1: because it was never going to be, hey, let's try
- 9:46Speaker 1: to dink and dunk against Alabama. It was going to be,
- 9:47Speaker 1: we're going to pump fake. The secondary and the safeties
- 9:50Speaker 1: are pretty bad and susceptible to the big play. We're
- 9:52Speaker 1: going to pump fake and go deep. They did it
- 9:54Speaker 1: on the third play. I thought they might run a
- 9:55Speaker 1: few screens to set it up. Also, that number 23,
- 9:58Speaker 1: that tied in. did you see he ran, like, a seam?
- 10:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:03Speaker 1: They hit him in stride, and it was like he–
- 10:05Speaker 1: I thought he was going to outrun everybody on the field.
- 10:08Speaker 1: He looked awesome at 18 and 22 against a good defense.
- 10:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:12Speaker 1: But, yeah, I thought he was awesome. I think there's
- 10:13Speaker 1: still– I think the idea that they're going to get
- 10:16Speaker 1: four teams in the playoff just– Without hesitation, it's going
- 10:20Speaker 1: to be pretty tough because there's– I mean, LSU, if
- 10:24Speaker 1: they win out, they can make the playoff. But 9-3
- 10:28Speaker 1: for a lot of these teams is going to be very,
- 10:29Speaker 1: very– I mean, you're going to have to have a
- 10:32Speaker 1: lot of conversations about is that better than like a
- 10:34Speaker 1: 10-2 Oregon, which could still be in play, or a
- 10:37Speaker 1: 10-2 Big Ten team. It just sucks. I mean, like
- 10:38Speaker 1: the SEC has already kind of beaten itself up pretty quickly.
- 10:41Speaker 2: Yeah, LSU's used both of its mulligans already. Not great.
- 10:44Speaker 1: Not great.
- 10:45Speaker 5: We talked about this earlier, about how parity in college
- 10:48Speaker 5: football is not necessarily a great thing right now because
- 10:51Speaker 5: it doesn't seem like anybody's very good except for a
- 10:54Speaker 5: couple of teams. So to say the SEC doesn't have
- 10:58Speaker 5: a handful of playoff teams like we thought, there's other
- 11:04Speaker 5: conferences that they're watered down as well.
- 11:07Speaker 2: Oh, no, I know.
- 11:08Speaker 1: I'm not saying that there's not good enough teams to
- 11:09Speaker 1: make it. I'm saying that if BYU and Utah go 11-1... Like,
- 11:14Speaker 1: they might both get in. I also will say this, too.
- 11:16Speaker 1: I think that there's– the LSU is getting a lot
- 11:19Speaker 1: of flack because of Kiffin and, like, this– like, the
- 11:23Speaker 1: turnover and how much it costs and the roster costing
- 11:26Speaker 1: over $ 40 million. Oregon has just got a blank checkbook. Like,
- 11:30Speaker 1: I mean, they've got– I mean, Phil Knight's up there,
- 11:33Speaker 1: just Jerry Jones in it, and, like, just begging for
- 11:36Speaker 1: one title before he goes. And they are, I think,
- 11:39Speaker 1: way worse off. I mean, like A & M spent
- 11:42Speaker 1: over $ 40 million. They have looked really bad. I mean,
- 11:44Speaker 1: you tell me that Texas' $ 50 million roster is living
- 11:47Speaker 1: up to the expectations they had, especially offensively? I think
- 11:50Speaker 1: that's been– that part to me has been really wild.
- 11:53Speaker 1: But Ohio State, Indiana. Did Indiana 24 straight games or
- 11:58Speaker 1: something like that without giving up 24 points? That's insane.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Nebraska blew it too.
- 12:03Speaker 2: No, no.
- 12:04Speaker 6: They had a chance to go up 10 in the
- 12:07Speaker 6: third quarter multiple times and they couldn't do it.
- 12:11Speaker 1: There are a couple 5-1 teams I look at that
- 12:13Speaker 1: are like, and I hate to say it, but Kentucky
- 12:15Speaker 1: and Mizzou, I'm like, they deserve all the respect in
- 12:17Speaker 1: the world. But you watch them and you're like, are
- 12:20Speaker 1: they really good? I think Missouri is probably better than Kentucky.
- 12:23Speaker 5: I watched football all day Saturday. And I was watching
- 12:26Speaker 5: it and I was like, is anybody really good?
- 12:28Speaker 1: It's a horrible way to go through life.
- 12:30Speaker 5: I know. Now, but Georgia, yes.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 12:34Speaker 5: There's a couple. But Texas has not been very good.
- 12:37Speaker 5: I mean, they've been good. Okay. Not very good is
- 12:40Speaker 5: a strong statement. But they hadn't been. We knew they
- 12:42Speaker 5: were going to lose at some point pretty soon.
- 12:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:46Speaker 5: And that's not the last loss they're going to have.
- 12:47Speaker 2: And I know you're going to hate when we say this,
- 12:49Speaker 2: but we'll have to see if Notre Dame's in that category.
- 12:52Speaker 1: Oh, God.
- 12:53Speaker 2: BYU might. This weekend.
- 12:54Speaker 5: I can tell you right now, Notre Dame's not good.
- 12:56Speaker 1: I don't feel like you've watched a lot of Notre Dame.
- 12:58Speaker 2: You have a clouded judgment when it comes to Notre Dame. Yes, absolutely.
- 13:02Speaker 5: Like me with Auburn.
- 13:03Speaker 2: 100%. Right, so I don't take, I mean, no offense.
- 13:06Speaker 5: Well, so I know you weren't up early enough to
- 13:08Speaker 5: hear it, but we were talking a little bit earlier
- 13:10Speaker 5: about how.
- 13:12Speaker 1: It's 6.30. No, you didn't. I did.
- 13:14Speaker 2: No, you didn't.
- 13:15Speaker 1: Yes, I did.
- 13:16Speaker 5: Set your alarm for 6.30.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Oh, no, I did hit the snooze at 7.12. To 7.12.
- 13:22Speaker 5: But my opinion, I'd like to hear your opinion. My
- 13:24Speaker 5: opinion is in this NIL transfer world that we live in,
- 13:28Speaker 5: every team is brand new every single year. When I
- 13:31Speaker 5: look six games into the season, it looks like it's
- 13:34Speaker 5: a bunch of brand new teams still trying to figure
- 13:36Speaker 5: out how to play football together.
- 13:38Speaker 1: Yeah, that's fair. And I think also you start to
- 13:40Speaker 1: see some stuff where it's like teams that are trying
- 13:41Speaker 1: to gel in places that you need them to be
- 13:46Speaker 1: good at. Again, this is why I was never high
- 13:48Speaker 1: on A & M this year, because last year they
- 13:51Speaker 1: had 177 combined starts on the offensive line. That whole
- 13:54Speaker 1: offensive line knew each other. They didn't have to rebuild
- 13:57Speaker 1: there in the offseason. This year, they had to go
- 13:59Speaker 1: out in the portal and overpay for Wilkin Formby. They
- 14:02Speaker 1: got Trevon Baugh from Carolina, who sucked. And they got
- 14:05Speaker 1: four new starters, and they looked terrible. LSU brought in
- 14:10Speaker 1: the number one portal class in the country, And where
- 14:13Speaker 1: they have continued to struggle seems like it's up front.
- 14:15Speaker 1: And that's the case at Oregon. That's the case at
- 14:18Speaker 1: a lot of places. It's also, it sucks to be
- 14:21Speaker 1: in an era where it's like, if you invest this
- 14:25Speaker 1: much money into one player, and all of a sudden,
- 14:29Speaker 1: that player has a slump or a down year or
- 14:30Speaker 1: things are not going well for him. Or also, they're
- 14:33Speaker 1: still in college. Somebody goes through a breakup or is
- 14:36Speaker 1: failing a class or whatever. Then it's like a whole
- 14:39Speaker 1: new thing.
- 14:39Speaker 5: You're 19 and a half years old.
- 14:41Speaker 1: Yeah. I'm like, round up. 30. Basically 30.
- 14:44Speaker 5: I was just making a point that they're children.
- 14:46Speaker 1: They're children. The half was weird. Yeah, that was weird.
- 14:51Speaker 1: I know. 19 and three quarters.
- 14:53Speaker 5: I was trying to emphasize because when you're a child,
- 14:55Speaker 5: you're like, I'm seven and a half.
- 14:56Speaker 2: That's true. I feel like you still do that.
- 14:58Speaker 5: Yeah, dude. That's fair.
- 15:00Speaker 2: That's fair. That's on me. Respect.
- 15:02Speaker 1: I didn't like it.
- 15:03Speaker 2: That's on me.
- 15:04Speaker 1: I'm not going to go back on that.
- 15:05Speaker 5: Whatever. I don't like your face.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Also, here's an interesting question that we can get into
- 15:09Speaker 1: at some other point.
- 15:10Speaker 5: Fair.
- 15:11Speaker 2: You got very punch.
- 15:12Speaker 1: If Gunnar Stockton was on Texas, Texas would be, I
- 15:17Speaker 1: feel like, almost unbeatable.
- 15:18Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 15:19Speaker 6: They're number one without a doubt.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Yeah. And probably beating teams.
- 15:22Speaker 5: Team to beat.
- 15:23Speaker 1: Convincing.
- 15:24Speaker 5: Oh, Sarkeesian would still be there.
- 15:25Speaker 2: Like, wait, wait.
- 15:26Speaker 1: What happened there?
- 15:28Speaker 2: Does it feel like he's, like, it's a lot of
- 15:31Speaker 2: duty to call plays and be the head coach at
- 15:35Speaker 2: any level.
- 15:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:36Speaker 2: Like, he needs somebody.
- 15:38Speaker 7: Yep.
- 15:39Speaker 2: I think he's got it in there, obviously. But have
- 15:43Speaker 2: somebody that has your stuff that can call your stuff.
- 15:46Speaker 2: So you can worry about the game management portion of it.
- 15:50Speaker 1: The optics of it, too, look better because you're not
- 15:53Speaker 1: doing the Billy Napier thing where it's like, no, I
- 15:54Speaker 1: got this.
- 15:55Speaker 2: You don't. You don't.
- 15:58Speaker 1: There was a lot of teams this weekend that got
- 16:00Speaker 1: into fourth and short that are offensive-minded people. Lane Kiffin,
- 16:05Speaker 1: Steve Sarkisian, and I don't know what Ryan Silverfieldingtonville.com, whatever
- 16:11Speaker 1: that dude's name is. I don't know if he's an
- 16:13Speaker 1: offensive coach or he shouldn't be a coach in this
- 16:15Speaker 1: league at all. But a lot of people on fourth
- 16:18Speaker 1: down that are hanging their hat on the offensive side
- 16:20Speaker 1: of the ball and then punting and kicking field goals.
- 16:23Speaker 6: Like less than a yard.
- 16:25Speaker 1: That's unbelievable. But Ryan Silverfield. How do you do it, dude?
- 16:31Speaker 1: It's like he didn't know.
- 16:34Speaker 2: He didn't know the situation. Like, hey, there's a clock
- 16:37Speaker 2: up there.
- 16:37Speaker 1: He was like, we're two of 11 on third downs.
- 16:39Speaker 1: And they were like, it's fourth down. There's a minute
- 16:42Speaker 1: and a half left.
- 16:43Speaker 6: In fairness to Ryan Silverfield, that's the first tight game
- 16:46Speaker 6: he's been into in Arkansas. So, I mean.
- 16:49Speaker 2: Oh, you picked. Didn't you pick Tennessee? Yeah. Oh, yeah. So,
- 16:52Speaker 2: you didn't.
- 16:52Speaker 1: Cover 13 and a half?
- 16:54Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. God, you're dumb. What'd you have?
- 16:56Speaker 6: Mine didn't hit.
- 16:57Speaker 5: I had North Dakota State.
- 16:58Speaker 2: I'm the only one that hit.
- 16:59Speaker 1: They lost?
- 17:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:01Speaker 1: Oh.
- 17:01Speaker 2: I'm the only one that hit. The one I gave
- 17:02Speaker 2: y'all hit.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Did you hit Missouri?
- 17:04Speaker 2: Yeah, you did. Yeah, three and a half.
- 17:06Speaker 6: That was chalk.
- 17:07Speaker 2: Luke did not hit.
- 17:09Speaker 7: Why did y'all let him do it?
- 17:10Speaker 2: Because he was filming for you. We should stop doing
- 17:12Speaker 2: a fifth.
- 17:12Speaker 5: I know.
- 17:13Speaker 2: Well, it doesn't matter because these two dum-dums didn't hit either.
- 17:17Speaker 2: I hit the under in San Jose State, Wyoming.
- 17:22Speaker 6: Dude, I hate doing an over-under, and I texted y'all
- 17:25Speaker 6: during the show, and I was like, I almost did
- 17:28Speaker 6: the over-under on North Dakota State UNLV, but I never
- 17:31Speaker 6: get it right. The under hit. easily and I was
- 17:33Speaker 6: like should have taken that but I just I always
- 17:36Speaker 6: Luke Foster was the.
- 17:37Speaker 2: Fifth pick yeah because he was on the board yeah
- 17:39Speaker 2: Luke he went uh Washington against Iowa he went Washington
- 17:44Speaker 2: because he's like they're the home team.
- 17:45Speaker 6: That's what I thought too ranked versus unranked unranked favorite
- 17:48Speaker 6: yeah he had good.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Reasoning but did you think Tennessee minus 13 and a
- 17:50Speaker 2: half no.
- 17:51Speaker 1: Well, I mean, kind of, but I wouldn't have bet
- 17:53Speaker 1: on it. Arkansas is trash. When's the last.
- 17:57Speaker 2: Time you won?
- 17:58Speaker 5: I don't know if I have.
- 18:00Speaker 2: You also picked A & M this weekend.
- 18:02Speaker 1: That's crazy.
- 18:03Speaker 5: Well, everybody was picking the other one.
- 18:05Speaker 1: Yeah, and also that line that was kind of stinky
- 18:07Speaker 1: at three and a half.
- 18:08Speaker 2: Just like you last week.
- 18:09Speaker 5: I was trying to save the graphic.
- 18:11Speaker 6: I have everyone's record on their books.
- 18:15Speaker 2: Like on Pontoon Parlay? Yeah.
- 18:17Speaker 5: Individuals, so.
- 18:18Speaker 6: JQ and I are five and two, but I got
- 18:20Speaker 6: to pick it up. I've lost two in a row.
- 18:22Speaker 6: Alondra is four and three.
- 18:23Speaker 2: All right, Alondra.
- 18:24Speaker 6: All pretty solid.
- 18:25Speaker 2: Yep.
- 18:26Speaker 6: Matt's one and six.
- 18:27Speaker 5: I got one.
- 18:29Speaker 7: Dude.
- 18:30Speaker 3: One and six?
- 18:32Speaker 6: Matt's one and six.
- 18:33Speaker 2: Dude, you got to start thinking with your mind and
- 18:35Speaker 2: not your heart.
- 18:36Speaker 6: The three of us all have winning records.
- 18:39Speaker 5: I got no heart strings in Tennessee or Arkansas.
- 18:41Speaker 2: We all have winning records but you.
- 18:43Speaker 1: Maybe you should start thinking with your mind a little
- 18:45Speaker 1: bit more, though. Also, shameless plug. LouisianaSports.net. Big picks energy.
- 18:51Speaker 5: How'd we do?
- 18:52Speaker 1: Not great in the picks, but the locks, thank you, dude.
- 18:55Speaker 1: That's really great support. I know, funny. This is my
- 18:57Speaker 1: whole job.
- 18:57Speaker 6: You didn't come to my public.
- 18:58Speaker 2: In a Mars thing.
- 18:59Speaker 1: It was the biggest game of the year. Eight and
- 19:03Speaker 1: one in the lock of the week. Eight and one
- 19:06Speaker 1: on the year.
- 19:06Speaker 6: Jimmy would be so happy right now.
- 19:08Speaker 5: I know.
- 19:08Speaker 1: Well, Jimmy's, those picks are not great. No. The record
- 19:12Speaker 1: is tough this year.
- 19:14Speaker 5: It's tough.
- 19:14Speaker 2: I mean.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Yeah, I know. You get it.
- 19:16Speaker 5: Are you sure?
- 19:17Speaker 1: I get it.
- 19:17Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 19:19Speaker 5: That's a great point in the chat. We haven't even
- 19:21Speaker 5: brought this up. Jaden Daniels made Silverfield look pretty good
- 19:24Speaker 5: on time clock management.
- 19:26Speaker 2: But also say, like, why are you calling that play?
- 19:27Speaker 5: You got to throw it away. I mean, you call
- 19:29Speaker 5: that play, you throw it away.
- 19:30Speaker 2: Yeah, you're trying to.
- 19:31Speaker 5: I mean, it's a pretty, like, we can talk about it.
- 19:34Speaker 5: We'll come back.
- 19:34Speaker 2: All right, we'll take a break. More OTB when we
- 19:36Speaker 2: come back.
- 19:37Speaker 3: Off the bench.

- 20:27Speaker 2: can literally do everything. They're the best company in Louisiana
- 20:31Speaker 2: for that. I've been doing a long time. Russell pools
- 20:33Speaker 2: is best. Chris Sanderson and his team over there. So
- 20:35Speaker 2: turn that dream, turn that backyard into a dream backyard
- 20:38Speaker 2: over there at RussellPools.com. All right, welcome back in. OTB
- 20:59Speaker 2: here live from the Raising Cane Studio. What did we
- 21:06Speaker 2: say we were going to get.
- 21:09Speaker 5: Into when we came back?
- 21:10Speaker 2: JD5. All right, walk us through quarterback. That play is called. And, look,
- 21:17Speaker 2: you're going to kick a field goal to probably win
- 21:20Speaker 2: the game. Conditions were bad, I guarantee you. Conditions were
- 21:22Speaker 2: very bad. But walk us through what you're supposed to
- 21:26Speaker 2: do and what ended up happening there with Jaden.
- 21:29Speaker 5: Yeah, it was like a little token fake to the left. Yeah.
- 21:33Speaker 5: pass route, obviously, but the clock is ticking. I can't
- 21:36Speaker 5: remember when he snapped it, but it was, I mean,
- 21:39Speaker 5: it had to have been under 16, 17 seconds when
- 21:41Speaker 5: he snapped it. Well, you have to call pass play.
- 21:45Speaker 5: I mean, you have to throw it away. You have
- 21:50Speaker 5: to throw it away because you're probably not calling a
- 21:52Speaker 5: running play in that situation because you don't have time
- 21:54Speaker 5: to get up and clock it. And if you do,
- 21:56Speaker 5: it's going to be tight. So you call a pass play,
- 21:59Speaker 5: you got to throw it away. And it makes everybody
- 22:01Speaker 5: look bad. But I will say, when you're playing quarterback,
- 22:07Speaker 5: you have the play clock. That's what you look at
- 22:10Speaker 5: the most. You don't often look at the game clock.
- 22:13Speaker 5: It's in a different spot. They usually put the play
- 22:15Speaker 5: clock easily visible for the quarterback and the referee to
- 22:18Speaker 5: see it. You're not looking around for the scoreboard or
- 22:21Speaker 5: one of the ribbons around the... You're not looking at
- 22:24Speaker 5: the game clock. Now, obviously, in that situation, you have to.
- 22:27Speaker 5: There's no excuse for that. But I will, in defense
- 22:30Speaker 5: of that, you don't look at the game clock very often.
- 22:34Speaker 5: It's just not in a very visible place for the quarterback.
- 22:37Speaker 5: It's not something that ever really plays a factor for
- 22:40Speaker 5: a quarterback until those moments. And overtime is a weird situation.
- 22:45Speaker 5: But obviously, very embarrassing for him, very embarrassing for the
- 22:48Speaker 5: coaching staff. Can't let that happen.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Brutal.
- 22:52Speaker 5: Kind of like a black eye a little bit for
- 22:58Speaker 5: that right now.
- 22:59Speaker 2: Dan Quinn, who's very... Calm, collected, player's coach. We have
- 23:06Speaker 2: him on every Tuesday, I think, on our show. Even
- 23:11Speaker 2: after a loss, he's going to give good answers. I've
- 23:14Speaker 2: never seen him piss like that.
- 23:17Speaker 1: Not one time?
- 23:18Speaker 2: Well, 23. I tried not to. He stood there at
- 23:22Speaker 2: the 25-yard line and people around him were talking and
- 23:26Speaker 2: he just stood there with his hands on his hips,
- 23:27Speaker 2: looking across.
- 23:29Speaker 1: Also, as a.
- 23:31Speaker 5: Whoever's talking to the quarter, the coordinator should be yelling
- 23:34Speaker 5: at him too. You got to throw it. Like he's
- 23:36Speaker 5: calling the play. He needs to be reminding the quarterback
- 23:39Speaker 5: as well, because again, the quarterback's not looking at the
- 23:42Speaker 5: game clock.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Right.
- 23:43Speaker 5: It looks at the play clock. And I remember those
- 23:46Speaker 5: situations where, you know, even when I was just sitting
- 23:50Speaker 5: on the sideline, watching Aaron do it, like the quarter,
- 23:52Speaker 5: like Mike McCarthy, like the coordinator is always like talking
- 23:56Speaker 5: to him throughout, like, all right, it's under a minute left.
- 23:59Speaker 5: Like even in two minute situations, talking to him through
- 24:01Speaker 5: those situations when he's calling the plays.
- 24:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 24:04Speaker 5: Especially that type of situation. You're calling a pass play.
- 24:06Speaker 5: You're going to be like, hey, I'm calling this play.
- 24:08Speaker 5: If it's not there, throw it away. If it's not there,
- 24:10Speaker 5: throw it away. Yeah. Maybe he did. He played really
- 24:17Speaker 5: tough with that, coming off that injury with that big
- 24:20Speaker 5: old elbow brace on.
- 24:22Speaker 2: Jaden's comments after the game, he took responsibility for it twice.
- 24:26Speaker 2: He did. But he also was, I don't know, some
- 24:29Speaker 2: of his comments were like, You know, it's all love.
- 24:32Speaker 2: It's like, ultimately, it's on me, no doubt about it, blah, blah, blah, whatever.
- 24:35Speaker 2: But he's like, it's from the top all the way down.
- 24:38Speaker 2: Almost like he did, I don't know. He's still got
- 24:42Speaker 2: a no either way, but he said that. I was like,
- 24:44Speaker 2: what's that mean? What's that mean?
- 24:46Speaker 5: He got that thing away. You don't call a run
- 24:49Speaker 5: and play there either. That's the thing.
- 24:51Speaker 2: You have to call that call. Or you just keep
- 24:55Speaker 2: the field goal. You're not going to get any yards.
- 24:57Speaker 2: You're a Falcons fan, right?
- 24:59Speaker 5: Marlon?
- 25:00Speaker 1: Yeah, whatever.
- 25:02Speaker 2: How did you feel last night?
- 25:03Speaker 1: Well, I wanted to go to bed by 9.30 and
- 25:08Speaker 1: felt pretty good. They were up several times in that game.
- 25:13Speaker 1: I think it was like 14 to 6, and I
- 25:14Speaker 1: was like, I think, are we prepared to say that
- 25:16Speaker 1: the Falcons are the best team in the NFL right now?
- 25:19Speaker 1: And then two had to come in, and I was like, well,
- 25:22Speaker 1: he's been pretty good in that building. Maybe he'll have
- 25:25Speaker 1: a moment. Also, I'm tired of getting left-handed quarterbacks that
- 25:29Speaker 1: are fragile as blank. That's frustrating to watch. But, yeah,
- 25:34Speaker 1: I mean, the moment that they put Derrick Henry in
- 25:38Speaker 1: the backfield on the two-point conversion, I was like, they're
- 25:42Speaker 1: going to direct snap to this dude, and he's going
- 25:44Speaker 1: to truck somebody.
- 25:45Speaker 2: Like, what?
- 25:46Speaker 1: That was not good. It was not good. I hated it. But,
- 25:48Speaker 1: you know, they had a backup quarterback, so it's like,
- 25:50Speaker 1: who wins with the lows? You know what I mean?
- 25:52Speaker 1: Couldn't be the Falcons. Any other questions? I made Alan
- 25:57Speaker 1: turn off some British-making show.
- 25:58Speaker 5: I do think Michael Fitts is good.
- 26:00Speaker 1: I do, too, but I also need him to stay
- 26:03Speaker 1: in games.
- 26:04Speaker 5: He got crushed.
- 26:06Speaker 2: He did. That was a.
- 26:08Speaker 5: It wasn't a knee. Yeah.
- 26:10Speaker 1: It's true.
- 26:11Speaker 2: It was an MA in protection, and he just... He
- 26:14Speaker 2: got smoked.
- 26:14Speaker 1: But here's the thing, too. On that play, on that play,
- 26:18Speaker 1: you have 26 seconds left, and I think one timeout
- 26:21Speaker 1: or two timeouts at the time, and you're around midfield.
- 26:25Speaker 1: Why is B. John Robinson and Kyle Pitts both into block?
- 26:30Speaker 1: Why are both of them in the backfield to block?
- 26:33Speaker 1: Someone explain that to me.
- 26:34Speaker 2: Oh, it was Kyle Pitts that ended up on him.
- 26:35Speaker 2: That's how it was.
- 26:36Speaker 1: Right. And then they tried to get Bijan to come chip,
- 26:39Speaker 1: and it was.
- 26:40Speaker 2: He knocked him off. Yeah. It was bad.
- 26:43Speaker 1: Bad.
- 26:44Speaker 5: There shouldn't be many plays in their playbook that does
- 26:47Speaker 5: not allow Bijan to get out and have potential of
- 26:50Speaker 5: getting the ball.
- 26:51Speaker 1: I would say almost every play in the playbook should
- 26:53Speaker 1: do that. But anyway.
- 26:56Speaker 5: And most of the plays should force the ball to him.
- 26:58Speaker 1: Yeah. I agree with that, too.
- 26:59Speaker 2: Very good.
- 27:00Speaker 1: Very good. I didn't know the Vikings were good.
- 27:03Speaker 5: And compliments are not coming easy today.
- 27:05Speaker 6: 5-0.
- 27:06Speaker 1: Vikings are 5-0 with that little man playing quarterback?
- 27:08Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 27:09Speaker 1: He's only played quarterback a couple of games.
- 27:11Speaker 5: Yeah, they've played multiple quarterbacks. Speaking of, I saw J.J.
- 27:15Speaker 5: McCarthy in the game yesterday for a little bit.
- 27:17Speaker 1: Did you see him sitting in the rain by himself?
- 27:19Speaker 5: Nine times.
- 27:21Speaker 2: It's tough, dude.
- 27:22Speaker 1: Somebody put out a meme because, you know, they had
- 27:24Speaker 1: that meme of him like, ugh, like, like, locked jaw, like,
- 27:28Speaker 1: you know, fired up trying to talk.
- 27:29Speaker 2: When he was nine, yeah.
- 27:30Speaker 6: In the locker room.
- 27:31Speaker 1: And somebody was like, J.J. McCarthy out here before everyone
- 27:33Speaker 1: else on the field, sitting under the goalposts in the
- 27:36Speaker 1: pouring rain. And somebody remade the meme, but it's him wearing, like,
- 27:39Speaker 1: a My Chemical Romance sweatshirt, and he's got, like, black fingernails.
- 27:44Speaker 1: It was hilarious. It was way funner than all the
- 27:46Speaker 1: Tua stuff. If I see one more radio Tua meme
- 27:52Speaker 1: on my timeline, I'm going.
- 27:53Speaker 2: To lose it.
- 27:54Speaker 5: How do you think his burner accounts the other day?
- 27:56Speaker 1: Oh, man, that was tough, too.
- 27:57Speaker 5: We're really proud of you. Keep it up.
- 28:01Speaker 1: Yeah, you got this.
- 28:02Speaker 2: The worst part about that interception was as soon as
- 28:04Speaker 2: he threw it, Drake London knew, and he just stopped. Yeah.
- 28:08Speaker 1: No, the worst part was the back-to-back in the Atlanta
- 28:12Speaker 1: Falcons Twitter feed. That was, Tua Tagovailoa has entered the
- 28:16Speaker 1: game at quarterback. And then within minutes, or maybe seconds,
- 28:20Speaker 1: it just said, Final.
- 28:21Speaker 4: 30-23 Baltimore.
- 28:25Speaker 1: I was like, that sucks.
- 28:26Speaker 5: So that play, you could tell he was cold coming
- 28:28Speaker 5: off the bench because it's against zone coverage. Guys run
- 28:32Speaker 5: a little dig route, a hook route. And you can tell,
- 28:36Speaker 5: you've seen that throw made by quarterbacks in the NFL
- 28:38Speaker 5: all the time because they look off. That's like the
- 28:41Speaker 5: no-look passes or a look off. He did the look off,
- 28:45Speaker 5: but he did it at the top of his drop
- 28:47Speaker 5: back and then took two hitches and then threw it.
- 28:49Speaker 5: So he looked off. Then took the, like, you got
- 28:52Speaker 5: to look off, like, as you're throwing it or right
- 28:54Speaker 5: before you throw it. So you see quarterbacks make that
- 28:56Speaker 5: throw all the time. And all you got to look
- 28:59Speaker 5: off is there not to, like, make him run that
- 29:01Speaker 5: direction and just you stick him. Like, you put his
- 29:04Speaker 5: heels on the ground, basically, and he can't move.
- 29:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:07Speaker 5: He just looked off. He just did it a little
- 29:08Speaker 5: too soon.
- 29:11Speaker 2: Poor fella.
- 29:13Speaker 1: Why is Rives making fun of me in the chat?
- 29:17Speaker 5: Because it's so easy.
- 29:19Speaker 2: Yeah, it's also fair. I mean, yeah. You know what?
- 29:21Speaker 1: Walk right into that one, brother.
- 29:22Speaker 2: Yeah. Just kidding, man.
- 29:24Speaker 5: We really appreciate you.
- 29:25Speaker 1: Shut up, Flynn. No, you don't. I walked in this morning,
- 29:29Speaker 1: and I was like, all right, I know these guys
- 29:30Speaker 1: are going to be down in the dumps. Tough weekend
- 29:32Speaker 1: for a lot of us. I'm going to be positive.
- 29:34Speaker 1: And I was like, what's up, guys? First thing out
- 29:37Speaker 1: of Hester's mouth, nope, no, not today.
- 29:39Speaker 7: That's not what you said.
- 29:40Speaker 1: Don't bring that in here.
- 29:41Speaker 7: You said, hey, daddies.
- 29:43Speaker 1: That's not what I said at first.
- 29:44Speaker 6: You did say that.
- 29:45Speaker 5: We did say, no, hey, mamas.
- 29:46Speaker 1: Are we doing the get out my butt segment or not?
- 29:48Speaker 2: No, please don't. I didn't bring it up to them.
- 29:50Speaker 1: Okay, I'll do it. We should do a weekly segment
- 29:52Speaker 1: on Monday. Who should get out my butt? And this
- 29:54Speaker 1: week it's SEC officiating.
- 29:56Speaker 5: All right.
- 29:57Speaker 2: But why should?
- 29:57Speaker 7: Kellen Moore, get out my butt. Actually, he needs to
- 30:01Speaker 7: get more in people's butts.
- 30:04Speaker 1: He's a mormon. You just can't. You guys remember the
- 30:09Speaker 1: Ecto Cooler? High C?
- 30:11Speaker 2: I do, for sure.
- 30:12Speaker 1: Can you picture that green little goblin in your head?
- 30:16Speaker 1: Can you look at a picture of Kellen Moore real quick?
- 30:19Speaker 2: Are you going to do a side-by-side later when we
- 30:20Speaker 2: come back?

- 31:41Speaker 4: Off the Bench with Hester and Flynn, presented by Bayou Automotive.
- 31:54Speaker 7: Sometimes I feel like I don't have a partner Sometimes
- 32:01Speaker 7: I feel like my only.
- 32:04Speaker 2: Friend Alright, welcome back in. OTB here, live from the
- 32:10Speaker 2: Raising Cane studio.
- 32:11Speaker 1: I didn't know they were from California.
- 32:19Speaker 7: Just sniffed straight into the.
- 32:21Speaker 2: Yeah, just right into it.
- 32:22Speaker 5: People need to hear it. Do we feel like today's
- 32:28Speaker 5: been therapeutic?
- 32:29Speaker 1: No. Um.
- 32:31Speaker 2: I feel better.
- 32:32Speaker 5: About talking about it. It's always good to talk about.
- 32:34Speaker 6: For me, it has.
- 32:35Speaker 2: I feel good about the fourth down situation. I feel
- 32:38Speaker 2: like I aired my grievance. I felt good about the
- 32:41Speaker 2: Saints needing to look in the mirror a little bit.
- 32:44Speaker 2: I feel good about it.
- 32:44Speaker 7: I got to say one more thing.
- 32:46Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:46Speaker 5: Absolutely.
- 32:48Speaker 7: 80 members on staff. Not a single one.
- 32:53Speaker 6: Saw the quarterback draw.
- 32:54Speaker 1: No. That's tough.
- 32:55Speaker 6: Unprepared. 80 members on staff and you're unprepared. Can I
- 33:02Speaker 6: ask you a question?
- 33:05Speaker 5: We need more. Double it.
- 33:06Speaker 6: We need to hire more.
- 33:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:08Speaker 2: Double it.
- 33:09Speaker 1: Easton Royal.
- 33:09Speaker 6: Does T have a brother?
- 33:10Speaker 1: Offensive.
- 33:11Speaker 6: It does. D.
- 33:14Speaker 1: That's good.
- 33:15Speaker 6: I'll give it to you.
- 33:16Speaker 1: Is that real?
- 33:17Speaker 6: It sounds real, doesn't it?
- 33:19Speaker 1: It does sound real.
- 33:20Speaker 6: You say it with confidence.
- 33:24Speaker 1: If I told you that LSU was going to win
- 33:28Speaker 1: five games. the rest of the year, what would you
- 33:32Speaker 1: believe they would... Like, what would be more believable? That
- 33:34Speaker 1: they would win five games out of their last six,
- 33:37Speaker 1: and they beat Tennessee... Or, sorry, Texas and Bama back-to-back,
- 33:42Speaker 1: but lost to a team they shouldn't lose to, or
- 33:47Speaker 1: that they would go 4-2 with losses to Bama and Texas.
- 33:51Speaker 1: What do you think is more.
- 33:52Speaker 2: The former. I would actually take the first one. Yeah,
- 33:54Speaker 2: me too. Yeah. Same.
- 33:56Speaker 1: Dude, they've been so.
- 33:57Speaker 6: Chris, they've been so bad on the road.
- 33:59Speaker 1: It's like, I mean.
- 34:00Speaker 2: I mean, both of them.
- 34:01Speaker 1: It was also very hard for me to put that
- 34:02Speaker 1: sentence together, so thank you for understanding.
- 34:04Speaker 2: I understand. I stayed with you. I stroked out twice,
- 34:06Speaker 2: but I stayed with you.
- 34:07Speaker 6: We all share one brain cell.
- 34:08Speaker 2: We were on the same page. Yeah, we're fine. LSU
- 34:11Speaker 2: hasn't won in six tries on the road the last six.
- 34:13Speaker 2: That's insane. I just don't have faith, and it's been
- 34:16Speaker 2: different staff, so it's just everything. I don't know what's happening.
- 34:20Speaker 2: We looked it up. During our four years, actually, for
- 34:24Speaker 2: your five years, you only lost five road games.
- 34:27Speaker 1: That's pretty good.
- 34:27Speaker 2: All five. Yeah, what about you? All six, five. Okay.
- 34:31Speaker 2: They've lost six in a row.
- 34:33Speaker 1: Yeah, that's, I mean.
- 34:36Speaker 2: That's like old school Vanderbilt stat.
- 34:38Speaker 1: It's like another team that you guys love to hate.
- 34:41Speaker 2: South Carolina?
- 34:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 34:42Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 34:43Speaker 1: Do you know that Beamer has now more ranks?
- 34:46Speaker 6: We did this.
- 34:46Speaker 2: That's crazy. That's the only game Beamer wins.
- 34:48Speaker 1: Yeah. Back against the wall, he's better than Brian, baby.
- 34:52Speaker 2: He is.
- 34:53Speaker 6: He is.
- 34:55Speaker 1: I don't, but like, I think that that's where I
- 34:58Speaker 1: get frustrated because it's like, I know that There's other
- 35:01Speaker 1: teams that are having the same issues with expensive rosters.
- 35:04Speaker 1: There's other teams that are, Texas this weekend, fourth and two. Now, granted,
- 35:09Speaker 1: they were going up against Oklahoma's defense and not Kentucky.
- 35:13Speaker 1: Turning the season around. Yeah, I just, I don't. Oklahoma.
- 35:17Speaker 7: They're going to turn it around.
- 35:20Speaker 1: I think in the article no one read, I was like,
- 35:22Speaker 1: somebody was like, how does this Oklahoma over, Oklahoma offense
- 35:27Speaker 1: get going. I was like, they've got to utilize Mateer's legs.
- 35:29Speaker 1: And I don't mean running the ball. I mean, can
- 35:32Speaker 1: he throw the ball with his legs? Cause he cannot
- 35:34Speaker 1: do it with his arms. Um, and it was really good.
- 35:37Speaker 2: Sure.
- 35:38Speaker 1: But yeah, I don't, I just, it's so frustrating to like,
- 35:41Speaker 1: like they're not going to lose to Auburn. They're just
- 35:43Speaker 1: not going to lose to Auburn. But losing to Tennessee
- 35:46Speaker 1: is way more likely to happen.
- 35:49Speaker 2: I mean, either, I mean, to your point, I guess
- 35:51Speaker 2: I would pick Tennessee over the Auburn game, but like,
- 35:55Speaker 2: How do you right now with confidence say that LSU
- 35:58Speaker 2: is going to win on the road? Yeah. It just
- 36:01Speaker 2: looks like two completely different teams.
- 36:02Speaker 1: That Tennessee game.
- 36:04Speaker 5: Tennessee's not.
- 36:05Speaker 2: No, they're not. It has nothing to do with Auburn
- 36:08Speaker 2: or Tennessee.
- 36:09Speaker 1: Dude, that Kentucky team, it was the same game against Carolina.
- 36:14Speaker 1: I mean, it was the same score. It went to overtime.
- 36:17Speaker 1: It was the same outcome. And LSU is significantly better. Well,
- 36:23Speaker 1: probably significantly better than Carolina. Like, we can't base it
- 36:26Speaker 1: off of just the last game. But you know what
- 36:28Speaker 1: I mean? Like, it's just, and that's what's so frustrating,
- 36:30Speaker 1: where it's like, you built the roster, you have all this,
- 36:32Speaker 1: and it's like, you have, I still think they can
- 36:34Speaker 1: make the playoff, because I fully believe that they can
- 36:37Speaker 1: go out there and beat a team like Texas, who's flawed,
- 36:39Speaker 1: beat Bama, who's flawed. Or if you are able to
- 36:42Speaker 1: go 5-1 with a loss to Bama and a win
- 36:45Speaker 1: over Texas, you might still get in with a 9-3 record. But, like,
- 36:50Speaker 1: it's just one of those games. You just couldn't afford
- 36:54Speaker 1: that mulligan. Could not afford that mulligan right there.
- 36:56Speaker 2: You could afford the Ole Miss one.
- 36:57Speaker 1: You could afford it this weekend.
- 36:58Speaker 2: But not the one that you just had.
- 37:01Speaker 1: Yeah. And now Mississippi State off a bye. It's just like...
- 37:04Speaker 1: It's just frustrating.
- 37:05Speaker 6: I feel like we talk about it all the time.
- 37:06Speaker 7: You cannot go into November with two losses.
- 37:08Speaker 1: No.
- 37:09Speaker 6: You just can't.
- 37:12Speaker 7: And it's a difficult... What? It's not ideal that you
- 37:19Speaker 7: go into November with two losses under your belt.
- 37:22Speaker 2: And like we....
- 37:24Speaker 7: The rest of the schedule is pretty difficult in order
- 37:27Speaker 7: for us to.
- 37:28Speaker 3: Try to win out.
- 37:29Speaker 2: To assume anything right now, that's something you can do.
- 37:32Speaker 6: That Tennessee game is as late in the year as
- 37:34Speaker 6: it is. I understand they hadn't figured out a quarterback.
- 37:37Speaker 6: If George McIntyre gets his feet under him a little bit,
- 37:40Speaker 6: that's a game late in the season.
- 37:41Speaker 5: It could be better.
- 37:42Speaker 2: Guys, you play Alabama and Texas back-to-back. I don't care
- 37:44Speaker 2: if you play that here, there, anywhere. I don't know, Jim.
- 37:51Speaker 1: I'm not trying to be a Debbie Downer. But the
- 37:55Speaker 1: Bama playing here is usually kind of one-sided.
- 38:01Speaker 2: LSU plays better there. Agreed. Completely agreed.
- 38:04Speaker 1: So that's like, and again, it's just like, but I
- 38:06Speaker 1: think that that is one, if you beat Texas the
- 38:08Speaker 1: following week, and maybe if Tennessee is still ranked, like
- 38:11Speaker 1: those are things that could still happen. It's just, that's
- 38:14Speaker 1: just one you couldn't have lost. But, you know, if
- 38:16Speaker 1: you can catch steam, I think what's one of the
- 38:18Speaker 1: things I did like about what Kiffin said earlier in
- 38:20Speaker 1: the year, when he was talking with the NFL players,
- 38:22Speaker 1: and they were asking about why are they even in
- 38:25Speaker 1: shape enough to play? They haven't been on rosters, or
- 38:27Speaker 1: the defensive linemen hadn't. And he's like, well, it's a
- 38:31Speaker 1: very long season. You're trying to play until January. So
- 38:33Speaker 1: I love that he has the big picture of that,
- 38:35Speaker 1: but it just feels like sometimes the week-to-week, you have
- 38:39Speaker 1: to dial in, and that just, you know. And also,
- 38:41Speaker 1: Kentucky's a good team. You're playing in Albertson's field. It's
- 38:45Speaker 1: the same thing. It's the same place. It's the same place.
- 38:47Speaker 5: Oh, Hunter, to your point, he said, we said he
- 38:50Speaker 5: can't go into November. With two wins, I think we
- 38:54Speaker 5: got to be here saying we can't assume that we're
- 38:57Speaker 5: going into November with two wins either.
- 39:00Speaker 1: Two losses?
- 39:01Speaker 5: Two losses.
- 39:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 39:02Speaker 6: But we are.
- 39:03Speaker 1: That's also, you're right on both accounts.
- 39:05Speaker 2: I know. Really.
- 39:05Speaker 5: We do have two losses.
- 39:07Speaker 4: I know.
- 39:08Speaker 1: What happens when you do?
- 39:10Speaker 2: What? You ask that of you and me?
- 39:11Speaker 1: Yeah. Get out my butt.
- 39:16Speaker 5: We got to hope that we are going into November
- 39:17Speaker 5: with two losses.
- 39:18Speaker 2: Yes.
- 39:18Speaker 5: Right. 100%.
- 39:19Speaker 1: This is a big one this weekend. Also, the 11
- 39:20Speaker 1: and a half is kind of.
- 39:21Speaker 2: That's too much.
- 39:22Speaker 1: But also, he's really good off a loss. He's really,
- 39:25Speaker 1: really good off a loss. And I think going into
- 39:27Speaker 1: the A & M game, I kept throwing out the set.
- 39:29Speaker 2: He was 6-9.
- 39:30Speaker 1: His last six games, winning those games by an average
- 39:32Speaker 1: of like 17.8, 17.6 points per game. And that number
- 39:38Speaker 1: obviously went up because of the A & M game.
- 39:40Speaker 1: So love that. Come off a loss. Get some momentum
- 39:44Speaker 1: going into the bye week and then figure out how
- 39:45Speaker 1: to go on a run in November.
- 39:47Speaker 2: All right, we'll take a break. We'll ask the bench
- 39:50Speaker 2: when we come back. Brought to you by Dos Equis.

- 41:21Speaker 4: All right, welcome back.
- 41:31Speaker 5: Closing out the show here on a Monday morning, a
- 41:34Speaker 5: therapeutic Monday morning. Off the bench. Don't hold my hand.
- 41:37Speaker 1: Yep.
- 41:37Speaker 5: I'm going to tell you about our friends over at Catalyst.
- 41:39Speaker 5: When you think about Louisiana, you think about energy. And
- 41:41Speaker 5: one company that helped shape the future is Catalyst. Catalyst,
- 41:44Speaker 5: developing the Commonwealth LNG export facility. Over there in Cameron Parish,
- 41:49Speaker 5: connecting American natural gas with customers around the world. Now
- 41:52Speaker 5: under construction after reaching its final investment decision in 2026,
- 41:54Speaker 5: the project represents a major investment in Louisiana's future. But
- 41:58Speaker 5: it's about more than just exporting energy. It's about creating jobs,
- 42:01Speaker 5: supporting local businesses, and strengthening communities. And reinforcing Louisiana's position
- 42:05Speaker 5: as one of the world's leading energy hubs. Through its
- 42:08Speaker 5: natural gas production and the Commonwealth LNG Project, Cateris is
- 42:11Speaker 5: helping build an integrated energy platform That connects domestic resources
- 42:15Speaker 5: with the growing global demand. So as construction continues here
- 42:19Speaker 5: on Louisiana's Gulf Coast, Caterus is proud to invest in
- 42:22Speaker 5: American energy, American workers, and a stronger economic future. Caterus,
- 42:26Speaker 5: connecting Louisiana energy to the world.
- 42:28Speaker 1: To the world. To the world.
- 42:30Speaker 2: To the world.
- 42:32Speaker 5: To the moon.
- 42:33Speaker 7: To the moon.
- 42:33Speaker 5: To the moon, probably.
- 42:35Speaker 7: Wow.
- 42:36Speaker 1: Wow.
- 42:37Speaker 2: We didn't hit that today. There wasn't a lot of wow. No.
- 42:40Speaker 5: Not a lot of wow factor today.
- 42:42Speaker 1: Kind of messed up.
- 42:43Speaker 2: What do you mean?
- 42:45Speaker 1: We had a lot of wow factors in here, guys.
- 42:47Speaker 1: We all put out a great effort.
- 42:49Speaker 5: You got to get more teams, brother.
- 42:51Speaker 2: I'm throwing at a wall right now.
- 42:53Speaker 1: I was just saying all the teams, Saints, LSU, for me, Chargers.
- 42:57Speaker 2: Cowboys.
- 43:08Speaker 1: Uniforms look cool, though.
- 43:09Speaker 2: Packers dress.
- 43:10Speaker 1: Cowboys look good. That's tough.
- 43:12Speaker 5: The Packers uniforms did not look very good.
- 43:14Speaker 2: They were great.
- 43:15Speaker 1: Yeah, what was that about?
- 43:16Speaker 5: I don't know. The white helmet. They never do a
- 43:20Speaker 5: good job on the alternative.
- 43:22Speaker 1: They don't work.
- 43:22Speaker 6: Their normal unis are great.
- 43:24Speaker 1: The black pants and red jersey. Black, red, black. I
- 43:27Speaker 1: didn't like that.
- 43:28Speaker 6: The Jaguars did that this weekend.
- 43:30Speaker 2: I actually liked it.
- 43:31Speaker 1: No, that's what I was saying, too. I thought, yeah,
- 43:33Speaker 1: same thing.
- 43:34Speaker 5: The Jags did that.
- 43:34Speaker 2: Black, red, black. I liked it. Much better than the
- 43:37Speaker 2: ATL jerseys.
- 43:38Speaker 1: Those are terrible. But, like, I think that the white
- 43:40Speaker 1: pants are better. Also, just wear the retros. That should
- 43:43Speaker 1: be the uniform.
- 43:45Speaker 2: There's a lot of teams that should do that. Just
- 43:48Speaker 2: wear the retros.
- 43:49Speaker 1: Is LSU doing anything weird with uniforms this weekend?
- 43:53Speaker 2: No.
- 43:55Speaker 6: So far, so good this year.
- 43:57Speaker 2: I mean, eventually, I'm sure they'll wear all white eventually.
- 44:02Speaker 1: I like the all white.
- 44:02Speaker 2: Oh, I do. I like the all white.
- 44:03Speaker 6: I like all white.
- 44:05Speaker 7: I like when Texas wears all white, too.
- 44:08Speaker 1: There's like a stripe issue.
- 44:09Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 44:10Speaker 1: Hunt's always talking about it.
- 44:10Speaker 5: It's better than the purple jersey games.
- 44:13Speaker 1: I really like the white, purple, white. Those are good.
- 44:16Speaker 1: I think that's one of the best alternates in the country.
- 44:19Speaker 2: I like it, too.
- 44:19Speaker 1: Did y'all talk about UCLA?
- 44:20Speaker 2: I like the gold helmets with white and white.
- 44:24Speaker 1: I do.
- 44:24Speaker 7: Okay.
- 44:25Speaker 1: A lot of people don't.
- 44:28Speaker 2: What about UCLA? They're good.
- 44:30Speaker 1: That was fun. Dylan Rayola, your boy.
- 44:33Speaker 2: Ask the bench. Does this mean that no one will
- 44:35Speaker 2: be trying to hire Baker away from us as a
- 44:37Speaker 2: head coach asking for a friend? There's moments that Blake
- 44:44Speaker 2: certainly would like to have back in that game. He'll
- 44:46Speaker 2: be the first to tell you he didn't call a
- 44:47Speaker 2: perfect game. But if somebody comes on here and tells
- 44:52Speaker 2: you that it was bad and blah, blah, blah, whatever,
- 44:55Speaker 2: ask them why. Just make sure you ask them why
- 44:58Speaker 2: and see what they say to you. And if they
- 45:00Speaker 2: can give you a good why... It's just because. If
- 45:03Speaker 2: they can give you a good why, then let's have
- 45:05Speaker 2: a conversation. But if they can't, I'm not going to
- 45:09Speaker 2: really have that hold a lot of weight.
- 45:12Speaker 5: Hey, the why is what I'm going to be chasing today.
- 45:13Speaker 5: I'll be watching film for tomorrow's breakdown.
- 45:17Speaker 2: Hey.
- 45:18Speaker 1: We'll check on you.
- 45:20Speaker 5: Check you. Yeah.
- 45:21Speaker 2: Welfare checks. Yeah.
- 45:24Speaker 5: Again, no defense is ever installed with no linebackers in
- 45:27Speaker 5: the box. Someone did that on their own.
- 45:33Speaker 2: Hashtag ask the bench. In ways LSU lost that game,
- 45:38Speaker 2: having the coaching staff lane go conservative was not on
- 45:41Speaker 2: my bingo card.
- 45:42Speaker 1: It's true.
- 45:44Speaker 6: It's done it a few times this year.
- 45:46Speaker 1: We should play bingo more.
- 45:48Speaker 5: It's a good game.
- 45:49Speaker 1: It really is. It's not just for old people.
- 45:52Speaker 5: That's a good game.
- 45:53Speaker 2: I disagree.
- 45:53Speaker 1: It's so much fun.
- 45:54Speaker 6: Maybe if it's like blackout.
- 45:56Speaker 2: That's fun.
- 45:56Speaker 7: Oh.
- 45:57Speaker 2: Hashtag ask the bench. Do we just need to realize
- 46:00Speaker 2: that this is what LSU has been most of its history?
- 46:02Speaker 2: Really good stretches. We need to cherish with a lot
- 46:05Speaker 2: of middle of the pack.
- 46:06Speaker 1: Hey, that's not a life we're going to live. Okay.
- 46:10Speaker 1: What's a life without hope? That's ridiculous.
- 46:12Speaker 2: Stretch, whatever.
- 46:13Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 46:13Speaker 2: That I hold as a standard. Wasn't that?
- 46:16Speaker 1: And they've been great.
- 46:20Speaker 6: Off the bench.
- 46:21Speaker 5: All right.
