- 0:39If you're blasting this episode of desk at your desk in the
- 0:41middle of the office, that's completely on you, champ.
- 0:45I don't we we anything can go. We actually something stupid.
- 0:48So I just want to put that out there to be upfront and honest.
- 0:51Yeah, I definitely don't like this content for kids.
- 0:54And if you listen to me at work and get in trouble, it's on you.
- 0:57All right. Now here comes the serious part
- 0:58today. This this episode's going to
- 1:00cover the movie weapons from 2025.
- 1:02That means we're going to be talking about the following
- 1:03things. This this is going to be related
- 1:05to what we see in the movie and what we talked about on the
- 1:08podcast. So if these things upset you or
- 1:10trigger you, be be worried. Intense and graphic violence,
- 1:14disturbing imagery, themes of child abduction and
- 1:16manipulation, substance abuse and the supernatural horror that
- 1:19might leave you linger long after the credits.
- 1:22If any of this hits too close to home, consider this your heads
- 1:24up. Still with us?
- 1:26Great, because tonight we're diving into the one of the most
- 1:28chilling and debate horror films of 2025, Zach Krager's weapons.
- 1:33Let's go. All right, so when we first
- 1:35started, this is going to be a spoiler free segment.
- 1:39So anything from here on out that we're going to talk about,
- 1:42stay to the topic of what we're saying, answer the questions
- 1:45accordingly, and we will we will get into a later part of the
- 1:50episode where we will talk about spoilers if things were.
- 1:52Into feels like a job interview. You're making me know.
- 1:57Right. All of a sudden.
- 1:59I feel like Tom, like, can I keep a secret?
- 2:02I'm trying to tighten things up. If people if you people at home
- 2:05hate this, I'm sorry. I'm just I'm trying my.
- 2:07Best. That was going to be my note
- 2:08when I came here, that was going to be my note.
- 2:10I feel like he got off top. Yeah, so after Barbarian rocked
- 2:15audiences in 2022, I all eyes run Zach Kreger and he could he
- 2:20do it again? In January 2023, he re released
- 2:24Sorry Unleashed Weapons, not film, but the script and
- 2:28Hollywood lost its mind. A full on bidding war erupted.
- 2:31New Line Cinema and Warner Brothers dropped roughly $38
- 2:34million for the rights, giving Craig your full creative control
- 2:37and which is rare for hard directors.
- 2:40And they gave him final cut privileges, which is fucking
- 2:43crazy. That's insane.
- 2:45Yeah. Did you see Barbarian?
- 2:48Yes. Yes.
- 2:49So if I can be straight up, it's not worth it really not if you
- 2:56here's here's the thing, here we are.
- 2:58If you watch Weapons and that's your first introduction to his
- 3:01horror film like era, you're not going to like Barbarian.
- 3:06Really, it's a shit movie. Sorry.
- 3:09I love Zach, but like it was just is poorly written.
- 3:13The idea is really cool. Keep it spoiler free, right?
- 3:18Yeah, I'm sorry. I forget that it's here.
- 3:20Yeah, yeah, yeah, no, not bad, not bad.
- 3:23So like to keep it like spoiler free.
- 3:25It's basically a movie about an Airbnb, OK, that gets quadruple
- 3:32booked in this like, and no one lives in this town, but the
- 3:37Airbnb is there and no one knows that because they're outsiders,
- 3:40etcetera. And there's a being that lives
- 3:43with with underneath the the B&B and yeah, people die.
- 3:51It's on the list to watch I'm. Definitely going to watch.
- 3:54It's the it's just the premise of why the character kills is
- 3:58kind of weird. It's it's definitely a good
- 4:00scary movie, but it's just the the plot doesn't make sense as
- 4:03far as like weapons has like a great plot and you can follow it
- 4:07all the way through and there's like it makes you think and then
- 4:10it never goes. And that's for no reason, you
- 4:13know what I mean? So.
- 4:15We'll get into that. He wrote it while grieving the
- 4:18loss of a close friend, channeling pain into horror.
- 4:20That grief became the movie's pulse.
- 4:22How far people go when they can't accept death.
- 4:27So this is kind of from The Hollywood Reporter.
- 4:29Weapons was trying to make sense of grief to channel into
- 4:32something terrifying but cathartic.
- 4:35So knowing this movie came now from Chick Kroger's personal
- 4:38loss, do you think that emotes and bleeds on screen and or
- 4:42would most viewers miss miss that layer entirely say that.
- 4:48One more time. Do you think that the emotion
- 4:52leads on screen from knowing that he had personal loss now?
- 4:55Yes. There we go, There we go.
- 5:02I don't know. I didn't.
- 5:03Know that for for me, For me, yeah.
- 5:05That makes sense now, because the wise kid, you know, was
- 5:10Zack's like, sketch comedy group that formed, Yeah.
- 5:15Wise kid, you know, formed after 911.
- 5:18They they all met on 9/11. Just it's like the MCR story is
- 5:21like, oh, what's going on? And they go and, you know,
- 5:24fucking they all meet each other.
- 5:26But yeah, Zach was a part of that comedy troupe.
- 5:29Trevor Moore had passed away and they never like revealed exactly
- 5:34why. But at the time he was trying to
- 5:37build a what is what's it called moonshine like rig and they say
- 5:42that he fell off his deck while drinking the moonshine.
- 5:45Some people say that. Some people say that the
- 5:47moonshine thing exploded. No one really knows the.
- 5:49Explosion. Yeah, you're going.
- 5:51To die, die from the explosion. Yeah, people.
- 5:54People don't believe the. True.
- 5:57Statement that has come out. But yeah, so I guess now knowing
- 6:01that what he was dealing with, that kind of makes sense.
- 6:03Like now I can look back at the film and be like, oh, this is
- 6:06more of a metaphorical. He's holding on to that loss and
- 6:11he is XYZ character, you know? The only persons are the only
- 6:16person that you really feel like really, really channels that
- 6:20grief is the dad. You know what I mean?
- 6:22Like, you have that generic, like, oh, the entire town's
- 6:25upset deal. But you don't really feel the
- 6:27impact of that until you meet Josh Brolin.
- 6:30Is Brolin Josh Brolin's character.
- 6:31Yeah. Place they knows.
- 6:32Yeah. Like, he channels the grief
- 6:34really, really well. And then she's more in grief of
- 6:37just like, well, well. No, Every single person is in
- 6:42grief in some way, shape or form.
- 6:44Now that you're like, I'm sitting there thinking about it
- 6:46like. Literally.
- 6:47All of. Them are because.
- 6:48Also, that also now questions me to believe that like the whole
- 6:52thing is a metaphor for like you using your grief as like each
- 6:56one is a weapon. You're using it against yourself
- 6:59like you're. Holding.
- 7:00On to that. Yeah.
- 7:00Like how is it a spoiler to say how it's numbered as it goes on?
- 7:05Like it's chaptered. Off.
- 7:07Chaptered off. Yeah, I was watching.
- 7:08I was like, this is very Pulp Fiction.
- 7:10Yeah, it's. Really cool.
- 7:11Quentin Tarantino's fucking horror movie.
- 7:14Without going into too much detail, it's chaptered off and
- 7:17and, but it all relays the same story, which is really fucking
- 7:21amazing. That's what I I guess I love the
- 7:23most. About that.
- 7:24So a kind of, well, we're going to get into casting characters
- 7:26here right now, but when Billy says it's kind of chaptered off,
- 7:30it'll be like chapter one, this character, and then you'll kind
- 7:33of see a character and then they meet another character and then
- 7:37you're like, well, who the fuck's this character?
- 7:39And then it's like chapter 2, this character, you're like, oh,
- 7:42OK. And then it tells their story up
- 7:44until the point where they they had that interaction with the
- 7:47previous. Almost like all crossover, it's.
- 7:49Kind of. We crash.
- 7:50And then halfway, halfway through, you're just like, shit,
- 7:54wait, we're gonna learn about this person or this thing soon.
- 7:58And then you're like, fuck. And you're like, Oh my God,
- 8:01yeah, yeah, that's fucking it's, it's wild to me now.
- 8:06And even like saying that, it reminded me of certain scenes
- 8:10where I was like, oh shit, I totally forgot about that.
- 8:12And then fucking. Yeah, I was gonna say actually
- 8:14saying that though, as someone who's like not really big on
- 8:17horror, I did kind of like that though, that like it would get
- 8:21to something really, really intense and then it would skip
- 8:24to another scene and you're like, OK, I've forgotten about
- 8:26that for a minute. And I have time to relate my
- 8:28heartbeat to just calm down a minute.
- 8:30And then like, yeah, you're like 20 minutes later, you've
- 8:32completely forgotten about it. And then it just comes.
- 8:35Brushing back to you and. You're like Oh my God I forgot
- 8:37about the thing. Rushing back with more detail,
- 8:39yeah, yeah, with more setup, more.
- 8:40Traumatic. More traumatic.
- 8:42Yeah, IA lot of so spoiler alert, not every movie is
- 8:45structured as well. Not every horror movies, don't
- 8:48be spoiled at that. Weapons that are.
- 8:51Early and. Early listening, well aware I've
- 8:53watched enough so far to. What I was?
- 8:55Is it called? To to that point as well, like
- 9:00to continue with like how good the film is.
- 9:03I think in an era now where everything is like gore porn,
- 9:07like everything is like, oh, it's so bloody, it's so
- 9:10gruesome. This is a good film of just
- 9:12being like on the edge because it really doesn't get bad until
- 9:18the end. Like towards really close to the
- 9:20end they could. Have went way harder and didn't.
- 9:24I don't think I know what you mean.
- 9:25I don't say to the story. Though like I I'm I'm with
- 9:28Billy, like the the fear factor wasn't coming from.
- 9:32Oh, it's so much fucking. Blood.
- 9:33Oh my gosh, yeah, we'll. Definitely dive more into that
- 9:36in the spoiler section, but let's get into casting
- 9:38characters. The casting journey could be a
- 9:41movie in its own originally Pete Pedro Pascal rennell renette
- 9:47resev I'm terrible names and Brian tyree tyree Henry were
- 9:52attached with the Hollywood strikes blew it up.
- 9:54Andrew Josh Brolin, Julia Garner, 80 and aldean eldritch
- 9:59Benedict Wong and Amy Madeleine a dream team was born.
- 10:04Garner plays just Justine Grady, a small town teacher caught in
- 10:08the chaos. Brolin is arch graphs is Archer
- 10:11graph a broken father turned investigator.
- 10:13But Emily Manglen. She is the film's own.
- 10:17She's the she's owns the film as Gladys, an elderly woman who
- 10:22calm hides everything something truly on sinister.
- 10:27So Emily Magnus saved the movie. This is what Craiger said the
- 10:30director. So they said that Amy saved the
- 10:33movie. She made Gladys Shuman and
- 10:35that's what made her terrifying. So kind of getting into the next
- 10:40little question here. And also we they did talk about
- 10:42that Gladys is going to get her own prequel movie.
- 10:47We did talk about in the previous episode on dangerous
- 10:49animals, because when we talked about weapons being upcoming, we
- 10:52were like, we're going to see this movie.
- 10:53But we already knew going in that Gladys is going to get more
- 10:56film. I don't like that.
- 10:59I just want to state that I don't like the idea.
- 11:00Of that I don't I agree with you.
- 11:02Like I think that Amy Madigan played a great character.
- 11:06Yeah, but at the same time, I don't necessarily feel like I I
- 11:10understand that there is a question of like where did this
- 11:14come from? But at the same time like.
- 11:17I think does. She need her own thing I feel
- 11:19like. Well, maybe that's it though.
- 11:21Maybe that's it though. Maybe they're just going to do
- 11:23like something that runs off as to why she is that way, which I
- 11:27would prefer, but I don't think I need a whole film based on
- 11:30her. I I just I certainly disagree.
- 11:33I think I want I want to know exactly where she come from,
- 11:35what exactly she is, how she developed her powers, when she.
- 11:39Learned them. I'd rather learn the lineage of
- 11:41the power. Not necessarily just.
- 11:43Her. Story.
- 11:44Like more of everyone's story that.
- 11:46Like was she always this way? Did she get that way when she
- 11:49was sick? Did her powers cause her to
- 11:51decline quicker than she did? Like, there's a lot.
- 11:53Sorry, sorry, sorry. Sorry, that's me.
- 11:59That's my bad. I'm trying to get better.
- 12:02Yeah. So.
- 12:05So without spoilers, which character stood out for you the
- 12:08most? I guess we can skip out Gladys
- 12:11right now. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 12:13Did someone else steal the show besides Gladys?
- 12:15I don't. Think so I like, I think, I
- 12:17think the teacher was the most like I, I did not like the
- 12:21teacher the whole time. I, I did not like her the whole
- 12:24time, but I think that her acting is so fucking good
- 12:29though, or the fucking cop or the cop the dude that she
- 12:33interacts with. I don't remember what his name
- 12:35is fuck, but his thing was. Fucking yo.
- 12:38There's a single hit and I was like, what the fuck, go.
- 12:42Ahead, I would say my favorite character was the tweaker.
- 12:45I was going to say that too. I was going to say that too,
- 12:47though, like because he fucking yeah, his his character is so
- 12:51fucking interesting right in in like yeah, no spoilers, but
- 12:57yeah, tweaker teacher or the cop that's.
- 13:01As far as her acting goes, I think her acting is.
- 13:04I won't say that her acting is bad because I haven't seen
- 13:07enough of her acting right, but I will say that the characters
- 13:10that she has been playing, like I've only seen this and Wolfman.
- 13:13Or she just plays a terrified woman.
- 13:16A girl who needs a lesson to be freaking learned and you're
- 13:19like, is she going to learn it? Did she learn anything actually?
- 13:23She's good at emoting like fear and just unsettlingness, right?
- 13:27She has. She's really, really good at
- 13:29that. The beginning, like the early
- 13:31scenes, is where it's like you don't root for her, obviously,
- 13:34because you don't know the whole fucking thing.
- 13:35I thought she saved Wolfman. I thought she was a high, a huge
- 13:38highlight at Wolfman. She was really good in that.
- 13:40I have two actors that stood out for me.
- 13:42I'm going to go with Josh Brolin, who I I just love him.
- 13:45I I think he's great. I've always I fantasized him
- 13:48playing Batman. I just think he is a good Bruce
- 13:51Wayne look. He has a chiseled handsome
- 13:53demore to him and he also is really good in action fight
- 13:56scenes. Like he's just sick.
- 13:58He's really fucking good. I'm a Josh Rowland fan.
- 14:01I want him in the DC Universe so bad if we're.
- 14:03Never going to get it. But I will also go with the
- 14:06little boy. I was going to say that now.
- 14:08I thought about it like he. Did a really good job.
- 14:10He kind of pushes the film because if he wasn't believable,
- 14:14if he was just like. There's a, there's a whole
- 14:17section where, without getting into spoilers, where I was like,
- 14:20he may be the one that is a problem here, but then you see
- 14:24what he goes through and you're like, fuck, dude.
- 14:26As a little kid, he he had to adapt quickly to survive like
- 14:30and to. Play that role is such a weird.
- 14:32For a child, yeah. Yeah, we'll.
- 14:34Have to yeah, sign back. Someone heard that kid, that
- 14:36kid, that kid channeled something.
- 14:37I don't know. Yeah, let's go to our next one.
- 14:40Reception at the box office opening weekend, $43.5 million.
- 14:44Final worldwide would be around 256,000,000 on a $38 million
- 14:50budget. So it it beat his budget opening
- 14:53weekend and then added another 260 some on top of it.
- 14:59It was it was horror gold. Audiences and audience gave it
- 15:03an A cinema score. Critics were split.
- 15:06Some called a genius, you're good and others called it a
- 15:10collapse under its own ambition. Empire gave it A5 out of five,
- 15:14something that shouldn't work but does.
- 15:16Roger, Roger and Ebert gave it a 430.5 out of four and praise its
- 15:20restraint. I like that too.
- 15:22This is another movie, kind of like Dangerous Animals where
- 15:24they could have went like super gory horror, super children are
- 15:30in danger type shit. And they did it.
- 15:33I feel like it did show restraint where normal horror
- 15:35movies are like how fucked up can we make this?
- 15:39And it gave really fucked up scenarios, but didn't have to
- 15:41visually throw in your face because like we talked about the
- 15:45last episode with Chuck, like I'm trying to get her into
- 15:47horror, but I'm also not trying to get her to that 70s, eight,
- 15:5260s, seventies, 80s, late 90s, hard, early 90s horror where it
- 15:58was just like, we're going to hit you with some of the most.
- 16:00Intense slasher. Slasher type.
- 16:02Stuff like 90s horror, like like 90s Freddy's, I Know What You
- 16:07Did Last Summer. Those movies are slasher, but
- 16:10it's not over. They were all like kind of like
- 16:11PG13 horror movies, like nineties, 2000s, very PG to
- 16:15heart. Like mainstream horror is very
- 16:17like, I remember growing up like, oh, it's PG13.
- 16:20I'm not even wasting my time. It's going to be fucking stupid.
- 16:22But then you see like the underground horror and you're
- 16:24like, oh, this is where people fucking turn to 11, You know
- 16:27what I mean? Like hidden.
- 16:29Films and stuff like that, which was like later in the 2000s,
- 16:32yeah. Their hidden footage, lost
- 16:33footage, whatever, Yeah. This this movie sparks arguments
- 16:37that it's usually how classics are born.
- 16:41Do you think this kind of divide helps the horror, keeps it
- 16:43alive, or hurts movies like Weapons when critics don't agree
- 16:46at all? What?
- 16:48Just in years, man. They.
- 16:49Yeah. What they were just it was like
- 16:51a political thing because of the gun scene or something.
- 16:55Or I think when they seen weapons and there was children
- 16:58in school. They were insinuating it was
- 16:59like about mass, Yeah, mass stuff.
- 17:02You can't even say what it's about.
- 17:03Like this is so aggravating. I'm sorry.
- 17:05No, no, but I disagree. I disagree that that's that's
- 17:08the whole point of it, though, is like, do you think that
- 17:10that's a good thing or a bad thing?
- 17:14And it's like, well, the people didn't even watch the film.
- 17:16Yeah, right. That was that's the problem is
- 17:18that pre pre like viewing, they're like, oh, weapons child,
- 17:24all of this. And if you don't watch the film,
- 17:26it's like, of course it's going to, you know, it's going.
- 17:28To depict it without like. You're immediately going to
- 17:30think that there's something that it is.
- 17:32Yeah, without a spoiler, there is a scene where they do kind of
- 17:36show the tagline of the movie in a supernatural way, saying
- 17:40weapons, and it's like a clock. And then it's like a giant AK47
- 17:44and you're like, oh, here we go. This is what?
- 17:47It means that's what you think. Yeah, that's what they like.
- 17:49No, I don't even know. Why?
- 17:51Honestly, I don't even know why that was there.
- 17:53I'd like to maybe discover that more with you guys, but well, I
- 17:58think without saying without goes by saying if if what we
- 18:00talked about now intrigues you when you haven't seen the movie.
- 18:03Now is the point. If you don't want to be spoiled
- 18:05is is your cutoff point. We gave you apple time.
- 18:09We are chomping at the bit to talk this movie.
- 18:12Pause the pause the episode and watch it and then come back and
- 18:16like me. I like listening to people's
- 18:18spoilers sometimes. Like if I'm really, really,
- 18:20really into a movie, I won't touch it and do anything.
- 18:23But if I'm like, but I'm also someone who doesn't give a shit,
- 18:25like you can spoil it for me, I'm still to watch it because
- 18:27I'm going to develop my own. Yeah, I have.
- 18:29We have a dude in the discord, you know him, he fucking spoils
- 18:33everything. But if you spoil some on him, he
- 18:36fucking has a heart attack. Tony, I'm surprised you're
- 18:39talking about yourself. Yeah, but he like he was trying
- 18:42to spoil way too for me and I was like, shut the fuck up,
- 18:46right. I do that too.
- 18:47I do do that too. But I was just like he he he'll
- 18:51he'll tell me like, oh, that movie was terrible, XY and Z and
- 18:54then I'll go watch it. I'm like, did we watch the same
- 18:56movie? Right.
- 18:58Well, that's I guess where it comes into play is like me and M
- 19:04that's where the barbarian thing came from.
- 19:06Her friend is literally a film critic basically like went to
- 19:09school to do all that stuff, got their degree or whatever.
- 19:13Yeah, come over without like throwing them out there.
- 19:16But they were like, oh, you like weapons?
- 19:19Don't watch Barbarian because you'll be so upset.
- 19:22So I think that's what I'm what I was trying to say before is
- 19:25like when I came into it, I was like, it's like, man, I really
- 19:28shouldn't have watched barbarian after watching weapons because
- 19:30the the jump in professionalism and writing within itself and
- 19:37just the jump in like acting. But as a musician, you make your
- 19:41first album in your in your personal space with your
- 19:45personal equipment on a budget that you have right?
- 19:48And then your music is like, holy shit, converse, kid, your
- 19:51music so fucking awesome. We now want to throw a $38
- 19:55million production for you make your next album.
- 19:57Well, here's it's. Not going to be the same quality
- 19:59as. But here's the problem, though.
- 20:01They didn't need Bill Skarsgard. In the first in in Barbarian,
- 20:06they did not need him. I'm not going to lie.
- 20:09Yeah, he's in it. He's he's a he is a main
- 20:13character in it. And he doesn't do much for the
- 20:16film from being so for real. Like, he's a great actor.
- 20:20He's usually. He's a great.
- 20:21Actor. But that was the thing that was
- 20:23that was my concept. I know it's not about that, but
- 20:26it's about Zach and his writing within weapons.
- 20:29It's like he had the perfect cast.
- 20:32So I do think he got lucky within that aspect.
- 20:34I do think Barbarian with a better cast lineup because they
- 20:38had Justin Long from accepted, right?
- 20:41It was Justin Long, and he was also in Jeepers Creepers.
- 20:45Yeah. He was in this one for like a
- 20:46split second. Yeah, he's just, he's all over
- 20:49the place. But he's a great actor because
- 20:50he plays in the convenience store, right?
- 20:53We've gotten past the. We're in this.
- 20:54World. Yeah.
- 20:56This is, I think, the first horror movie he's lived through,
- 20:59right? One of them.
- 21:00Yeah, yeah, yeah. He.
- 21:01Does not do well in the. Spoilers.
- 21:03He dies in Barbarian I think, Yeah.
- 21:06He doesn't get turned into a fucking walrus, does he?
- 21:10Tusk? Great movie, no.
- 21:12So yeah, we'll talk. That's be a whole other topic.
- 21:14But Zach Krieger, because we're talking about films, right?
- 21:17He created the movie Miss March, I believe as well with Trevor
- 21:21Moore from the Whitest Kids and that came out in like the early
- 21:252000s. I want to say 2004, 2005 S in
- 21:29theory, like this is his first major film, but like that one
- 21:33was backed pretty well. I think that was a universal
- 21:35film. I can't I can't remember, but I.
- 21:37Think he definitely made himself a mainstay in film for him.
- 21:41Going forward, I think he's going to be a director and
- 21:44writer that people are like, oh shit, he has a script.
- 21:47Let's let's see what happens here.
- 21:48He also, he also wrote on this TV series called Wrecked, I
- 21:53believe, and it's about like a shipwreck and it just gets all
- 21:56fucky. But you can tell, like if you
- 21:58watch that show, you can be like, oh, he wrote this part of
- 22:02the script. Like you could see what's his
- 22:04writing? Yeah, even even in like if you
- 22:07go into the widest kid, you know, skits, they had some dark
- 22:10fucking scenes. And it's like, oh, Zach totally
- 22:14wrote this or whatever, you know?
- 22:17So yeah, it's fucking awesome. Well, let's get into the spoiler
- 22:21section of this movie and just do a quick full story breakdown
- 22:26so everything starts at 2:17 AM. Seventeen children from the same
- 22:303rd grade class class silently leave their homes and vanish.
- 22:34Only Alex Lily remains. I forgot his name was His last
- 22:37name was Lily. I did forget that you.
- 22:38Know, you kept saying something through like, why can they just
- 22:41call him Alex? Like, why do they have to keep
- 22:42calling him Alex? Lily.
- 22:43Yeah. Alex.
- 22:45Lily. Alex.
- 22:45Lily. Alex.
- 22:46Lily, you're like sitting right next to him.
- 22:49The town erupts into chaos. Teacher Justin Grady becomes a
- 22:53scapegoat. Meanwhile, grieving father
- 22:55Archer Graf launches his own desperate search.
- 22:58All trails lead to Lily's house, while windows papered over
- 23:02strange noises within. A drifter named James breaks in
- 23:05and discovers the missing children in the basement, alive,
- 23:07catatonic, watching over them as Gladys.
- 23:11Alex is frail on. But she's not just old, she's
- 23:14ancient in will. Using personal items and hair,
- 23:16she enslaved the town and draining the children's life
- 23:19force to stay young. Justin and Archer storm the
- 23:22house, facing enchanted versions of of Paul the Cop, the Cop X,
- 23:26and James and James. Blood is spilled, spells break,
- 23:31and finally Alex mirrors her dark magic back onto her.
- 23:36The children's once victims turn on Gladys, ripping her part like
- 23:39feral fucking creatures. The spell breaks, the town
- 23:43awakes, but the innocence is gone With with with that twist
- 23:48hit. Gladys is the puppet master.
- 23:51Did it shock you or confirm your suspicions throughout the movie?
- 23:56What? Whenever the kids came after.
- 23:59No, like when you find out she was the puppet master behind
- 24:02everything. I think it would have had she
- 24:05not already gone to that house and did all that shit, you know
- 24:09what I mean? When she goes to like.
- 24:11Hey, your aunt's coming. She's here.
- 24:13She's so like, they do it. There was a point there where
- 24:15you're 100% sure she was behind everything.
- 24:17And then once kind of, she shows up and then the kid comes home
- 24:19from school and the parents are catatonic at the table.
- 24:23No, definitely. I mean, I'm always very like
- 24:26skeptical when I start watching films and I can typically guess
- 24:29the ending. I couldn't guess the ending for
- 24:31this, but I was like, OK, the aunt's definitely the fucking
- 24:34weirdo. When the second that, like, the
- 24:38second that they're like, oh, his aunt's coming to town or you
- 24:40can't meet, you can't meet with his parents because his aunt's
- 24:44coming, right? Yeah.
- 24:45That was like one of the earlier scenes, right?
- 24:46It was the principal. And he was like, oh, I'll have
- 24:48to talk to his, you know, mother or something like or.
- 24:50Yeah. Because the whole time you're
- 24:51just seeing that the parents are kind of sitting on the couch,
- 24:53not moving in the US. You still don't know why.
- 24:56Right, so that's what I was going to say is like you kind of
- 24:59I knew that there was something about her and I wouldn't say
- 25:01that I thought she was straight out evil.
- 25:04I would say maybe she was like drugging the parents, Like, oh,
- 25:07maybe she was supposed like in my brain, like maybe she was
- 25:09taking care of this, this couple who was sick and like giving
- 25:13them too much meds or something. But then it shows you the part
- 25:16where she goes into the principal's house and does all
- 25:20that. Yeah, that's where I was like.
- 25:21When you're like, oh, so wait, so if she can control people
- 25:25just like that, like that's the instant that you know that she
- 25:27can control people. So you know that she controlled
- 25:30the mom, but you should go out to the car and cut the hair off
- 25:33of the teacher and then you're just sitting.
- 25:35There, but you're not sure how to.
- 25:36Control with the teacher. The whole time, the best part
- 25:39though, is like, you're not really sure how the kids get to
- 25:43the point of being in that house.
- 25:45You're still not sure. You're still never sure where
- 25:46the kids went because it could be a scapegoat.
- 25:48Still, you know, the kids thing could be completely different.
- 25:52Didn't learn her power until the principal.
- 25:55Right. Yeah.
- 25:56And then like I said, that's the part where you're like.
- 25:57Or no the parents. No, it was the.
- 26:00Principal first. So what happened was the
- 26:03principal has already like attacked, right?
- 26:07And then you don't you don't see the why he attacked.
- 26:10You see Alex or the the kid, Josh Brolin's character
- 26:14attacking the principal, who's attacking, right, Justine.
- 26:17Yeah, 'cause you're like and then you.
- 26:18And then that dissipates and I don't remember where we go, what
- 26:21little story we go on to from that.
- 26:23But then you see how she's like treating the parents and
- 26:27everything like that. And then you get to the part
- 26:29where she's like snapping it or she gets where we're back to the
- 26:33principal now in the. Principal's house, Yeah, yeah,
- 26:37yeah. Cuz I think it follows the
- 26:38teacher after that where she follows Alex home and that's
- 26:42when the teacher falls asleep in the in the car and you're like,
- 26:46OK, so something weird's happening that looks like a
- 26:48fucking zombie coming outside and everything and she gets in
- 26:53the fucking. That's probably the scariest
- 26:55part of the film with the scissors.
- 26:57And she's like already jerking around and you're like, because
- 27:00she got to cut. Her and then she just cuts her
- 27:02hair and then she just cuts her fucking hair and I'm like,
- 27:04that's so scary. But that's the part you see the
- 27:07the mom who is already like, zombified almost, I guess you
- 27:11could say. And you're like, OK, so is that
- 27:16a dead person? Is, you know, you're like, what
- 27:18the fuck's going on? Yeah, Yeah, was.
- 27:21Anyone else's first thought voodoo dolls?
- 27:23No, no, not just me. You were thinking vampire for a
- 27:27while too. Well, yeah, because everything
- 27:29was being done at the dark. Yeah, and it was all being done
- 27:32in. Dark and like the like all the
- 27:35papers on the windows and everything was like it needs to
- 27:37be dark. Everything's happening in the
- 27:39dark. But I was thinking, no, I was
- 27:42thinking like maybe voodoo dolls because I'm thinking like she
- 27:44has the parents and like, I didn't know what she was doing
- 27:47with the teacher's hair yet. So I was like, oh, she's
- 27:50controlling them. Like she's making little, she's
- 27:52making little, whatever with all of them.
- 27:54And then it got. Which she never.
- 27:56She never. Uses the teacher's hair, right?
- 27:59She does she. Does at the principal in the
- 28:01principal's house kitchen? Yeah, in the kitchen.
- 28:04She uses her hair for the principal.
- 28:05Oh. And then, yeah, that's why he
- 28:07goes after her. That's right, yeah.
- 28:08She needed the hair. She.
- 28:09Keeps the hair like she took it, she she takes it back off the
- 28:13stick and like tucks it away. And I was waiting for her to use
- 28:16it again and I don't think she ever did.
- 28:19OK, Yeah, I. Don't remember her taking it
- 28:22back off. Yeah, she like breaks it and
- 28:24there's still a strand and then she keeps it.
- 28:27I think it might have been. It could have been the
- 28:29principles as well, because to use again.
- 28:31That's true to use that. Again.
- 28:32But then that didn't happen because he fucking died.
- 28:36Yeah, the that part which is super fucked up because so he
- 28:39like chases her. He runs all the way from his
- 28:42house before. That.
- 28:43To the fucking gas station. Oh yeah, that's the part where I
- 28:47was. Like head butts?
- 28:48Yeah, he just head butts him. And I thought this was so cool
- 28:51because you don't see the actual gore.
- 28:54Like you don't, It's not overhead, it's just you're
- 28:57seeing him just fucking thuds and you watch his face get kind
- 29:01of like Kincave, but it's still not super.
- 29:04Yeah, it's still not super gory. It's still like, pretty fucking
- 29:09tame for for a horror. You know that what's happening
- 29:12is visceral when they're not shoving your face in.
- 29:15It and even after he finishes, he stands up and they still have
- 29:20the shot of they then have the shot of his partner on the
- 29:23ground, but it's kind of blurred.
- 29:26Yeah, yeah, yeah. And you can't see it all I feel
- 29:29like. So cool.
- 29:30I'm not trying to be like I figured a lot of this but I feel
- 29:32like I was pretty on par with a lot of my things.
- 29:35I was like, I think so I thought from the beginning I was like, I
- 29:38think, I think the movie does kind of tell you a little bit of
- 29:41what it's gonna go throughout the like when they were a witch
- 29:43in her car. And I was like, and then I seen
- 29:45Gladys and like, Gladys is a witch.
- 29:47Yeah, I think she has some type of witch powers and then.
- 29:51Cuz they write it in the red lipstick and then she's wearing
- 29:55the red lipstick or the red paint.
- 29:57Yeah. And then when I was just like,
- 29:59but also she's a witch, but she's almost like a parasite.
- 30:03Like she her, she needs life force.
- 30:05And then the one time they're in school, they're teaching the
- 30:08kids about parasites. It's no, it's in the well, that
- 30:12too, but it's also in the TV show at the ants is the fungus
- 30:16that grows on. Ants.
- 30:17Yeah. So they were talking about
- 30:18parasites a little bit there, too.
- 30:19The Gladys is almost like a parasite or she's a witch or
- 30:22something along those. Is she demonic?
- 30:24Like, there's a lot of different layers.
- 30:25You can go with that. Yeah.
- 30:28The fucking, I'll tell you the scene that got me.
- 30:31Like, I was just like, and it's not even like supernatural
- 30:34horror, but when he arrests the tweaker and he's like, do you
- 30:38have anything in your pocket? And he fucking sticks his finger
- 30:41in his pocket and hits the needle and he just go, I was
- 30:47like, what the fuck, man? And he was just like, what the
- 30:51fuck? He like, he snaps back into it
- 30:52like shit, I just fucked up. Yeah, 'cause his body cam's on
- 30:57and everything, you know, like these cameras on and shit.
- 31:00And then I thought that sequence with the cop was one of my
- 31:04favorite sequences of the movie because it was so real 'cause
- 31:08then he goes back to the his boss, which is his ex's or his
- 31:13current wife, and. Then he gets caught cheating.
- 31:18And. Then he has this whole thing
- 31:20where he's cheating on his wife, who's his, and her dad's his
- 31:24boss. And then he just made a fucking
- 31:27mistake that could, Yeah, that can literally get him arrested
- 31:31as a police officer. You're missing a whole nother
- 31:33layer to this. He was sober.
- 31:37Yeah, that's what it was too. Yeah.
- 31:38And then because the print. Oh.
- 31:40Shit so. He.
- 31:41He the night before that still before all this though, the
- 31:44night before that he was drinking with a teacher and then
- 31:48next day on top of that he freaking gets stabbed by this.
- 31:51And the dad's like, well, we'll cover it up.
- 31:53As long as this dude does not show his face for 30 days,
- 31:56you're good. And then you see the fucker
- 31:58walking to the police station. He's right.
- 32:00And. You're like, why?
- 32:01Why would he even cover around here?
- 32:03And then you. You find out he finds the
- 32:05children, which I was like, what a fucking good layer.
- 32:08It was, yeah. That's that has to be one of my
- 32:11favorite sections in the film. I'll be, I'll be so for real
- 32:14like I didn't. Speaker puts a lot together.
- 32:15I did not like his character though.
- 32:17I was like, fuck, I don't like that this guy is going to go in
- 32:20here clearly just trying to rob shit.
- 32:22And then it's going to like turn around and then be like, oh,
- 32:26your Twitter's the hero. Like, I don't know, like it felt
- 32:29weird, right? It felt like a weird way of them
- 32:31to like put his character in there, but then it like kind of
- 32:34closes in and you're like, oh shit, you know, like the
- 32:37redemption is. And it's like you feel even
- 32:40worse because it's like, oh, wait, no, he's just trying to
- 32:42turn his shit around anyway. And then?
- 32:44When the when he's hiding in the tent.
- 32:46And then you think Gladys. Yeah, you.
- 32:48Think that Gladys and he. Fucking has the needles again
- 32:50and he's the cop again with needles.
- 32:52He's like, you're in these fucking needles.
- 32:55I would like to go to that right.
- 32:57So there's imagery of her so many times before you even see
- 33:01who she is, before she's ever come into contact with these
- 33:04characters. And that's the thing that I
- 33:07don't, I either don't like it or I don't understand it.
- 33:11Because you see her, she scares the dad in his like dreams.
- 33:17She scares the teacher right in her dreams as well, right?
- 33:20Like her face pops up when she's laying in bed at night and then
- 33:24from the ceiling. So you're seeing all this
- 33:27imagery of a lady with like orange and like the lipstick and
- 33:30everything wait before you ever get to know her.
- 33:32And then it finally clicks. Well, I'm like, why would you
- 33:34have to show that? Or why is that a thing?
- 33:37You know, that's not something that they ever come back to in
- 33:40the end. So I think she she's also very
- 33:44hyper aware of keeping the story where it needs to be and like,
- 33:48who's on to her and who's looking into her.
- 33:51And the teacher was definitely one of those people.
- 33:53The dad was one of those people. And the tweaker just happened to
- 33:56be a guy who's like, fuck, he's figuring shit out.
- 34:00So the tweaker already went into the house and found the
- 34:02children. And then she was like, well, now
- 34:05I got to follow him because he could fucking ruin everything
- 34:07for right. So she's essentially she does
- 34:10have the power to fucking get into your mind with her, her
- 34:13thing. That's that's just the only
- 34:15popular we know of with her. So if she can do that, she may
- 34:19have other things where she can maybe astral project or she can
- 34:23make you astral project and make you like get into your head and
- 34:27almost invoke that fear. Like that's what other reason
- 34:31why I want more Gladys, because I think there's more abilities
- 34:33to her that we might not even know.
- 34:35Yeah, That might not relate to like the things that are going
- 34:39on necessarily in this story or? Something because the best way
- 34:42to discredit somebody if especially if you're trying to
- 34:45do something, is make them seem like they're crazy.
- 34:48And if you're sitting here saying I'm having these weird
- 34:50dreams and you confide in someone and someone's like, how
- 34:53about this fucking personal there?
- 34:56You know what I mean? And then immediately you're
- 34:58discredited as a person of personal contact.
- 35:01And now Gladys can keep doing what she's.
- 35:03Doing right. No, for sure.
- 35:04I that was just one thing where I was like, I get it, but like
- 35:08she never physically came in contact with them or something.
- 35:11You know what I mean? Like, it's not like they had
- 35:13their belongings there. Well, maybe the teacher.
- 35:15Yeah, because the kid goes to school and then they are already
- 35:18missing. But like, I don't know, it was
- 35:21just, that was just the only thing where I was like, well,
- 35:23why would you show her immediately and then, you know,
- 35:27fucking later on? Obviously it like resembles
- 35:30itself, but it's just like, I don't know.
- 35:33I feel like as far as like seeing more of her story, I
- 35:35don't really see a point in it. I have more questions as like
- 35:38what happens to her power now? Like does the kid end up
- 35:41becoming the next version of it or like something like that?
- 35:44Like, but I don't, I'm not saying again that like are there
- 35:49more questions and are are can we find out more stories?
- 35:52Sure, but like was the premise of who Gladys was enough in
- 35:56this? Right, so you think weapons
- 35:57should just end here? No, but I think she's saying
- 36:01like Lily's saying like why Gladys?
- 36:04Or like with just the power itself, right?
- 36:07Like the origin of it? Someone.
- 36:10Else or I would like I can I feel like you can squeeze at
- 36:13least two more movies out of weapons.
- 36:15I think you can give us the prequel with Gladys, which I'm
- 36:18cool with. And then I definitely think we
- 36:21we need to learn more about. So here's the thing too.
- 36:24I think you give us a Gladys movie and then you also see
- 36:28maybe someone come out of her ability and what actually
- 36:30happens to them. And then you're in your brain
- 36:33can start piercing. Well, oh shit.
- 36:34And this is how their long term effects is.
- 36:37What about that fucking town? What about those kids?
- 36:38Parents because like at the end when you see you.
- 36:41Have no idea. When you see all the kids,
- 36:43they're just like what happened after they tore this old lady.
- 36:46Now they couldn't even talk. They were all like catatonic.
- 36:49The narrator says in the movie, yeah, everything kind of went
- 36:53back to normal. Nobody talks about it.
- 36:54The news, everything kind of just acted like we acted like it
- 36:57never, never happened. It's like a year.
- 36:59Later, a year later, some of the kids are now starting to talk
- 37:01again. I thought the somebody do
- 37:03anything. Because the parents, there's the
- 37:05scene at the end, there's the scene where like, finally, you
- 37:11know, they break the kids out of this spell because Alex snaps
- 37:17the fucking thing in the water as his parents are chasing him.
- 37:21He he, he, he goes into the bedroom.
- 37:23He takes her real hair from the wig, puts it on the twig, tricks
- 37:28his finger with the blood, snaps it.
- 37:30And then all the fucking children go crazy and you're
- 37:33like, oh, shit. And you think kind of that
- 37:36they're going to go ramp it around the town because you're
- 37:38like, how could anything else happen?
- 37:40Well, no, he took her hair. Yeah, her hair.
- 37:42Yeah, but the wig. Right.
- 37:45So that's where I'm confused. Like, is that her real hair?
- 37:49He took the hair from inside the wig.
- 37:51I don't, I don't think he took any hair from the wig.
- 37:54I I don't think he took. Any hair they showed him, do it.
- 37:57They showed him take hair from the wig.
- 38:00No, he. He he goes inside the wig and
- 38:02pulls her long blonde hair out. OK, I thought he just took one
- 38:05of the. Yeah, I thought, yeah, that's
- 38:07why I. Was like, I thought it was going
- 38:08to be more like that it was something that belonged to her.
- 38:11Like it was like a. Right, that's true too, because
- 38:14when in when he goes into the school, even if it wasn't her
- 38:17hair, he went into school and he just took the book, the fucking
- 38:20textbooks. Took the papers with all the
- 38:22names. Oh yeah, that too.
- 38:24Yeah. So like, I guess that's what it
- 38:26is. It just has to be a belonging of
- 38:27you. But like Even so then.
- 38:29Because she did have little hair left and she had like long
- 38:33blonde that she would tuck up into the wig.
- 38:35You see him physically like gather up what's inside the wig
- 38:39and use that. I think there's so many parts of
- 38:41this film too where you jump from like hating her to being
- 38:44like, oh shit, I feel bad for this woman.
- 38:48I feel like the part where she's like actually taking care of him
- 38:51and then she gets sicker and then you see the like transition
- 38:55in him of being like, like, fuck, I've been taking care of
- 38:58my parents. This is the only lady.
- 39:00This is the only person that's like actually knows that I
- 39:03exist, what happens to me and he's like feeding soup to his
- 39:07parents and these kids. And that's why all the.
- 39:09Kids are bullying him. He's really feeding the kids
- 39:11that have fuck with him. Every and he doesn't do anything
- 39:14to them negatively. So it's like I think that's
- 39:16where the acting from that kid is so important, you know, as to
- 39:20be like, this is just what he does.
- 39:22He goes and gets cans of soup and I think it's so weird.
- 39:25I think it's really weird though that especially in this day and
- 39:30age, there's not a fucking Home Alone type scene where he goes
- 39:33and they're like, where are you? They're not like, where are you
- 39:36parents? So like, I think that's kind of
- 39:37fucking weird. But this also seems like a very
- 39:41close knit community where everyone kind of knows each
- 39:44other. Right.
- 39:45Don't you think that worry would be even more?
- 39:47Well, they kind of set the tongue that his parents are sick
- 39:50and his aunt's taking care. Of him, that's true.
- 39:51So they're they probably thought that just like, oh, he's not
- 39:54going. There.
- 39:55And he's and he's not cracking like the teacher was like,
- 39:57please tell me what's just get away from me.
- 39:59Like I can't tell you fucking anything.
- 40:01Like you, if I tell you my parent, I just watch my parents
- 40:04stab themselves in the faithful forks.
- 40:05Yeah. That scene is eerie.
- 40:07That's where the gore starts to settle in is like later on in
- 40:10the film. Yeah, that's what I would say.
- 40:12And they're like, they're still not like profusely bleeding.
- 40:14They have punctures, but they're not like, leaking.
- 40:16It's still just fucking ears, yeah.
- 40:18It's hard to watch. And so like that scene really
- 40:21got to me because then in my head I'm like, fuck, what if,
- 40:24what if I ever had to? Like I couldn't imagine being
- 40:27that kid, that like 10 year old kid, like he's not old enough to
- 40:32do a lot of shit by himself and he's just watching his parents
- 40:36like lose it. And he's like literally crying
- 40:39and then sitting at the table with them, like just crying.
- 40:41But like being like shuts down entirely.
- 40:44Right, yeah, but the interesting thing there too, was the parents
- 40:47were crying. So like there's a there isn't a
- 40:50layer while they were still first catatonic, like they knew
- 40:55they knew that they're like fuck dude, we can't do anything about
- 40:57this. Like the like the dad's
- 40:59literally like looking. At the tear going and tearing.
- 41:01Like, like he's, it seems like he's almost physically there in
- 41:05his brain, yeah, but can't do anything.
- 41:07About it, yeah he's he's he's like aware of everything, but
- 41:11there's no he does not have the power to fucking and like
- 41:14literally. Under that, almost like frozen.
- 41:17Yeah, fucking crazy. And he like, so I watched a
- 41:22couple interviews of Zach because obviously I've followed
- 41:25him for a long time just through like his sketch comedy.
- 41:28And then like they did like Twitch streams and shit like
- 41:30that. And there's an interview where
- 41:33they talk about the scene that you're talking about where
- 41:35there's the gun in the sky. And then it says like 216 and he
- 41:38is like or 217. And people were like,
- 41:41insinuating that that meant it was like a shooting.
- 41:43But if you pay attention. Yeah.
- 41:47And also if you pay attention, it's just insinuating like the
- 41:52dad was in some kind of Army or Marines, like he's been
- 41:56previously deployed or something.
- 41:58Yeah. Yeah, exactly.
- 42:00And but he never expands all that.
- 42:02He's like, I don't know why I put that there, but I think
- 42:05that's all it is, is he's just like, it's just a cool visual,
- 42:08the. Idea of weapons is essentially
- 42:12you want to take this one because I know that you were
- 42:14kind of hinting at that earlier. Oh, I don't like the term that
- 42:17the kids were everyone was kind of being weaponized with her
- 42:20ability. Yeah, yeah.
- 42:21Like her ability was weaponizing people.
- 42:23I was saying like, almost like in the whole movie as a whole,
- 42:27everybody had some sort of grief that they were dealing with,
- 42:30that they were like trying to keep a secret, right?
- 42:33And they were all it was all being used as a weapon against
- 42:36them. Yeah, who do you think was the
- 42:37most innocent bystander to this whole case?
- 42:41Can I have a list of everybody? First, I think it's super easy.
- 42:46I think the fucking. The principal.
- 42:48Yeah, the principal didn't appreciate.
- 42:50Showing a whole no, you know no no, no, no, no, no don't I don't
- 42:55agree with that yo that that principal was like I don't want
- 42:58to be involved in this. I don't need to know about this
- 43:01kids personal life. I don't care about what he's
- 43:03going through, the fact that he just lost 17 classmates, it's
- 43:07whatever. Like get over it.
- 43:09I don't think, yeah, I don't think the principal was super
- 43:11innocent either because he kept, he was like, oh, you know, it
- 43:16was a hassle. It was hard to take care of.
- 43:18And then like the teacher was trying to figure it out.
- 43:21And then the principal was like, stop dying.
- 43:23Stop putting your nose into it. Just let it die.
- 43:25Yeah. He's literally like like let's
- 43:26just fucking. But that's not a form of
- 43:28innocence, that's a form of him being like I don't.
- 43:30Want to but I think. There's a lot of moving parts
- 43:32for his job and he's trying to fucking navigate the fact that
- 43:36like, hey, I'm a principal and my job is to make sure the
- 43:38school still moves smoothly. The police are handling the
- 43:41missing case. Teacher fucking.
- 43:44I believe in you as a person. I don't think you did this, but
- 43:47I also need you to fuck off right now and just stay the fuck
- 43:51home and stay out of this because you're making my job
- 43:53harder. And now you're calling me to
- 43:56because like, here's the thing. When you get involved with kids
- 43:58at all, If you're, because I had to go through this as a coach,
- 44:01if I'm a coach and I'm coaching kids and a kid comes up to me
- 44:04and says, hey, like I'm having a rough go, you have to report
- 44:09that. And you're kind of like, fuck,
- 44:11like this is going to be a thing.
- 44:14And then you have to kind of like they want you as a reporter
- 44:18to be like, don't ask any questions, just report it.
- 44:21But then you have to also be like, you have to vet it a
- 44:23little bit, you know what I mean?
- 44:24And then as a principal, you have to then do that and then be
- 44:27a guidance counselor and then do all this with hundreds of kids
- 44:31in the school now 17 just go missing and your teacher is
- 44:35fucking digging their nose and breaking into the house and
- 44:38following the kid. And this teacher's well, that's.
- 44:40The thing too is like it's the The problem is that like so much
- 44:44time had passed and people are still going after the fucking
- 44:48teacher and the principal is not doing shit to help the teacher
- 44:51at all. She's not helping herself.
- 44:53I don't know she's. She's stalking the little kid
- 44:55showing up at the school. OK.
- 44:58Hey, you just killed 16 of the 17 kids on your soccer team.
- 45:04Yeah. You're not going to sit there
- 45:05and be like these. These cops aren't doing
- 45:08anything. My boss isn't doing anything.
- 45:09I'm just going to sit here with my thumb on my butt and do
- 45:12nothing. Bullshit you in your community
- 45:15and then you look more suspicious than anything at the
- 45:19end of the day. Like in that position that you
- 45:21have to fucking let people do what they're supposed to do.
- 45:24Like I'm not a source off. I would.
- 45:27I would not be in my public town drinking in bars, getting
- 45:30fucking smashed, buying bottles and bottles of vodka in a small
- 45:33little community and then fucking stake out the last kid
- 45:37in my fucking school. Billy, He didn't have to yell.
- 45:40That's what I'm doing. That's what I wouldn't be, you
- 45:43know what I'm saying? Like this whole time.
- 45:45Like you stupid fucking idiot, Like why are you there?
- 45:47Well, I think there was. There were plenty of times where
- 45:49I'm like, girl, what are you saying?
- 45:50Yeah. There's there's so much
- 45:52throughout the beginning of the film where you're like, oh,
- 45:54she's just making that perspective that you're giving
- 45:57yourself. You know, she's she's just
- 46:00playing into that. And then later on you're like,
- 46:02oh shit. Well, you know, it's been like
- 46:04how long? Of course she's going to
- 46:06fucking. Yeah, feel this way.
- 46:08You hold on to, that's what I'm saying after so long of just
- 46:11everyone going Oh yeah, well. You spray paint in your car and
- 46:15fucking and going to your house. Like that's the thing.
- 46:17It's been months of that. And it's the.
- 46:20Josh Boland's character who painted her.
- 46:21Car No, they still insinuate that, but he never fucking.
- 46:26They never confirmed that they they insinuate it, but they
- 46:30never confirmed that he did it. You.
- 46:32Know where the paint came from. Yeah.
- 46:34His construction site, Yeah, because they grabbed the wrong
- 46:36paint. Oh shit.
- 46:37And it wasn't opened. And there was one can that was
- 46:40opened. And then they later show it in
- 46:42the trunk of his car. And they show his truck and they
- 46:45show him in the truck, follow her to her house, right?
- 46:48And then he watches her. I still think it's all, I still
- 46:50think it's all a red herring. I think that kids fucked with
- 46:53her while he wasn't paying attention or something because
- 46:56he's going. To try to pit it against.
- 46:57Him right, because when he goes because he's gotten to the
- 47:00school several times at the meetings and been the same
- 47:03intrusiveness as the teacher has been, you know, so I think
- 47:07there's there's another character which could be Gladys
- 47:10as the parents being like go fuck with this guy or like do
- 47:14you think? There's a possibility that
- 47:15Gladys also had his hair. That's true.
- 47:18And was like controlling him to kind of be that to keep to stay
- 47:23on her tail that like, oh, this woman's can take the wrap.
- 47:27She's been taking the wrap for it for the last three months.
- 47:30And if there's just him being planted here as a seed to keep
- 47:33going, like, Yep, let's just keep all eyes on her.
- 47:36Yeah, that means it's possible because like you said, it just
- 47:39has to be a belonging. And if the dude was as close
- 47:43with his son as you infer that he was, there's probably a
- 47:46belonging of the dad with the kids.
- 47:48Shit, you know or whatever. Or even.
- 47:52In his truck when he. Planted the paint.
- 47:54Yeah, it could be. It could be.
- 47:56I wouldn't go there. I like his theory, but I
- 47:58wouldn't go. With it, I just the only reason
- 48:00I don't believe it is because when he gets to the gas station
- 48:04to talk to her and he looks at he's like who the you know what
- 48:07I mean? Like no one thinks you're a
- 48:08monster. I just want to know where my kid
- 48:10is. So why would someone say that
- 48:12after painting on the fucking car?
- 48:15Because I think because he doesn't, he doesn't the night at
- 48:19the PTA meeting where he's genuinely hot, he was hot enough
- 48:21to stand up and scream something and then stalked her and then
- 48:24watched her go to the liquor store and buy Blues.
- 48:26And like he, I think he staked, I think he staked her out enough
- 48:29to realize like, fuck, I'm watching her and I'm studying
- 48:33her and I'm just watching her movements and she's really not
- 48:36doing anything that shows anything anymore.
- 48:38And then he sees this psycho principle run down the street
- 48:40with his eyes bulging into his head.
- 48:41That's clearly something more. And I think he was like, there's
- 48:44something deeper here and I need to help her.
- 48:48Yeah, let. Me tell you where I where I can
- 48:50get behind Billy one more time on this the night of the PTA
- 48:54meeting, he had everybody pissed off.
- 48:57And yes, I do believe that he followed her and was still ready
- 49:00to give him more of a piece of his mind.
- 49:02But because he had everybody pissed off, people are playing
- 49:04Ding Dong ditch with her. I think it's very possible that
- 49:07somebody else did it and then shoved it in the back of his
- 49:10truck to be like, ha ha, he's the one who was yelling.
- 49:13But he was where he was positioned on the street.
- 49:16He would have seen someone knock on her door because they don't
- 49:19show that either. Because the whole I think, I
- 49:21think he was the one that knocked on her door so she can
- 49:23come out and see the rest that. She left on her and then maybe
- 49:25more, maybe a lot of it too was just her anxiety because she
- 49:29hears a lot of things and then she goes out and it's just
- 49:32people walking by. So there's there's so much
- 49:34that's like insinuated but not too cleared up on, but it's like
- 49:37totally OK, because it's just, you know, how you weaponize your
- 49:41fear and your and. He was like triangulating to
- 49:45where the kids ran or where they ran from.
- 49:46And then she was he's like, here's 2 paths of two cameras I
- 49:49have and he's like Jason. To each other.
- 49:52That's, that's, that's, that's Lily's the Lily's house.
- 49:55Yeah. You know what I mean?
- 49:57It was it was done really well. Yeah.
- 49:59Let me just get to my last sequence here, and we'll, we'll
- 50:01get close to the end. So in the end, Alex becomes both
- 50:04the hero and the heir to the darkness.
- 50:06By using Gladys's own spell, he inherits part of her legacy.
- 50:10Originally, Craiger planned a silent ending.
- 50:12Just one child staring at the camera.
- 50:14Test audiences demanded closure, so he added Alex's voice over
- 50:18and redaction. So he's.
- 50:19So it is Alex's. Voice, that's what they're
- 50:22saying here. I don't know if that's confirmed
- 50:24or not, but I I thought it was it was one of the kids voice.
- 50:27The narrator. Yeah.
- 50:30So Gladys equals grief that that refuses to die.
- 50:34The children's revolt equals victims reclaiming their power,
- 50:37and Alex's fate equals trauma reborn.
- 50:39Maybe the cycle begins again. It's not a happy ending.
- 50:43It's a survival horror. Messy, haunting, unforgettable.
- 50:46Do you see Alex as free or doomed to repeat Gladys's what
- 50:51Gladys started? Yeah, I think it's it's a
- 50:53struggle. It's a struggle because like, I
- 50:57don't know, after if if I were to be that kid that went through
- 50:59all that trauma, I think I would just be like, it's over.
- 51:02Life's over for me. I'm going to check out.
- 51:05You know what I mean? You're also a kid who's super
- 51:07traumatized, who's been bullied and picked on and watched.
- 51:09But then also there's with Maybe you can.
- 51:13I'm just going by the pop culture version of witchcraft
- 51:17and spells and shit. Right how you could utilize the
- 51:22all that shit also like get what he wants.
- 51:24I've done a couple episodes of Truth Behind Illusion.
- 51:26From what I've learned from magic and casting spells that if
- 51:30you do set negative intention in a spell to go after someone
- 51:34there is a there is a blowback to that you are you're going to
- 51:38get some negative shit thrown to you.
- 51:40If you were going to use magic in a negative way, I.
- 51:43Don't think this is necessarily a truth of all magic, but it
- 51:49more encompassing blanket statement.
- 51:52There's always like a price to pay.
- 51:54Sure. And I think once he, yes, he
- 51:57used the magic to save the day. But I think, yes, I think
- 52:00there's going to be something attached to him because even
- 52:03though he used the magic for good, he used dark magic.
- 52:06Yeah, so like insinuating that like maybe the reason that maybe
- 52:10the reason that Gladys used it ever in the 1st place was
- 52:13because of a, a, a land of negativity.
- 52:16And then in turn she got sick and she was like, well, if I
- 52:20just use it on one, one person that was a bad person, you know,
- 52:24And then she was like, shit, that bad person wasn't young
- 52:27enough. I know.
- 52:28I need it as a life force to keep myself alive.
- 52:30Yeah. Or what if it was like, let's
- 52:32say that she had her own Gladys, right?
- 52:34Like this is, and she's like, I don't want to have to pass this
- 52:39on to someone else. I'll take all of this
- 52:42responsibility. Trust me, kid, you don't want
- 52:44this yeah type thing. And you know, cuz you don't know
- 52:47how long she's been doing it for either.
- 52:49Like you know that the, the mom says something about, oh, Aunt
- 52:52Gladys was staying with so and so, but she passed away as you
- 52:55remember. But Aunt Gladys is big.
- 52:57You're just coming to stay with us.
- 52:58Crazy so. She was like.
- 53:00So it's like, oh, so she's kind of just going from like this
- 53:03town to that town, and it's like, oh, she's a distant, like,
- 53:06oh, how come I've never heard of Aunt Gladys before?
- 53:08And The thing is too is that like you never Aunt Gladys could
- 53:13have never been a part of the family in the 1st place I think.
- 53:16And then she met the parents. It's like, oh, they look healthy
- 53:20because the dad. Didn't really know anything
- 53:21about. It Yeah.
- 53:23And the mom, but the mom was even like, oh, she's a distant
- 53:25relative. She we invited her to the
- 53:28wedding, but something like that.
- 53:29But like, oh, she's coming and we're coming here to take care
- 53:31of her and. You know, which is all the more
- 53:33reason why we need more. I guess that's I guess that's
- 53:35why they set it up like that is like she'll you'll find out how
- 53:39she met the parents and it won't be the.
- 53:41Fact that she's how she's calculated, how she goes about
- 53:44life. Yeah.
- 53:45I agree I'm. Just I'm still more curious,
- 53:47like how you're talking now. I'm more curious to see what
- 53:51happens with Alex in the future. Like, yeah.
- 53:52OK, so then what's next for him? I think just because we're
- 53:55riddled in a world with prequels that some of us are.
- 53:58Live over the prequels. I don't care about what's in the
- 54:00past. Help me.
- 54:01Tell me how you're going to. Change.
- 54:02Here's the thing here, Weapons is very unique and different,
- 54:05and it's not a rewash of something else.
- 54:07And if you're going to give me a franchise based on something new
- 54:10and a new idea, fucking yeah. I want to dive with a
- 54:13disfranchise. I guess that's what I really
- 54:15want is to know what Zach had watched or like what inspired
- 54:21the way that he wrote, because it doesn't feel the same as
- 54:25anything like the way that's written is.
- 54:26So it's structured. It's structured so well, you
- 54:30know, and, and that's where Justin came in.
- 54:34He was a parent of one of the kids and he was, he was coming
- 54:36home with the shopping bags and the dad encountered him because
- 54:39the mom was like, no, you can't see the fucking footage.
- 54:42You can't just click in my head. And then he walks outside and
- 54:45the dad's there and he was like, Hey, let me talk to you.
- 54:47And he like threatens it. He like puts his hand up on his
- 54:49shoulder and shit. Justin doesn't die though, so
- 54:52we. Were right yeah, I completely
- 54:54forgot that part and the whole time the wife's just pissed like
- 54:58she's like you're really just that is a real fucking thing.
- 55:00I just told him you gotta do that.
- 55:01You're just, you just walk. He brings.
- 55:04The the map. Blueprint the blueprint of the
- 55:08like the it's the telephone towers at first, is what he's
- 55:11thinking right which? Sends you off.
- 55:14Right. And and it's the working behind
- 55:17the house or something like that, yeah.
- 55:19This is a marker like as a. As a yeah.
- 55:22That's it's so it's so weird set up because I think at first they
- 55:26try to make it seem like, oh, it's like a follow the telephone
- 55:30wires. Where do they intersect?
- 55:32And then he's like, Oh no, it's different than that.
- 55:34It's the fucking house, right? It's the house at the end of the
- 55:37goddamn street where everyone can see it.
- 55:41The. The very I just wanted to bring
- 55:42up one thing of another scene that I was really into the the
- 55:46fucking scene where all the kids chase Gladys.
- 55:48Yeah, I she gets she I was laughing hysterically.
- 55:52I did. I burst out fucking laughing.
- 55:54I didn't. I couldn't help it.
- 55:55The fucking scene. Is it where, Jackass?
- 55:58Yeah, where they're running through the fucking house.
- 56:01Random people's houses. Well, it was set up in the thing
- 56:03of like they were showing off a, they were showing off a new
- 56:06house to someone who was gonna buy it.
- 56:07Yeah. And they just had like join
- 56:09Oxford, breakthrough a fucking window and be chased by somebody
- 56:12else. I immediately went to a Jackass.
- 56:14Yeah, I was fucking crying. But did I?
- 56:16I felt like Eric Andre in a little bit like this seems like
- 56:19something Eric. Andre it, It felt so like.
- 56:23Normal. Not that like, just like it kind
- 56:26of felt like the people that were like in the house were
- 56:29actually just kind of chilling in their house.
- 56:31Like that acting was pretty good because it doesn't feel over the
- 56:35top, but it also doesn't feel too nonchalant.
- 56:37They're just like, what the fuck is going on?
- 56:41What's happening right? Now, in the scene where
- 56:45specifically she's she's already run to the front yard and they
- 56:50topple over the fucking the fence.
- 56:54But you can tell it's like adult actors because they just like
- 56:56land on them and shit and roll over.
- 56:58I think that's my favorite thing is the practical use.
- 57:01Yeah, there's not a lot of CGI in this film, I feel like.
- 57:05I feel like they had to use the kids that shot too because there
- 57:08is shots where kids are running and they use very wide shots and
- 57:12almost blurred the kids faces and so they didn't have to put
- 57:14kids likeness out there but also those kids are probably laughing
- 57:18and fucking. Because they're just, yeah.
- 57:21Hey, we're gonna get 17 and just chase this lady, you know what I
- 57:25mean? Like to me.
- 57:26Like you have to get to her Yeah, for fucking Fortnite V
- 57:29Bucks we're. Gonna make her look like this,
- 57:33but we're definitely sticking another freaking 8 year old here
- 57:37because yeah, this is gonna be able to like.
- 57:39That's you can shoot and be like, hey, kids, I don't want
- 57:41you to challenge the fact you're gonna RIP her apart limb from
- 57:43limb, but we want you to chat. Just chase her.
- 57:46Yeah. She has so much candy or she has
- 57:48like. Some look like a fun and it.
- 57:49Really didn't look like a good shot.
- 57:51When failure was trying to run home through all the yards and
- 57:54shit, I was like I was a fun scene.
- 57:56It's such a good, yeah. It's such a good, a feel good
- 57:59scene too, because you're like so scared for what could have
- 58:03happened to the kids. You know, you're like, shit, are
- 58:06they dead? And then you obviously you see
- 58:07them feeding them, but it's like, how much could that?
- 58:10And when Roland's Karen just came home, his kids still
- 58:12zombified like he. Just yeah.
- 58:14Yeah, yeah. Imagine being the dad.
- 58:16You see your kid, then you have to go upstairs and save
- 58:19whatever's happening to your kid.
- 58:21And then your kid leaves. And then you follow the path to
- 58:24your kid and your kids. One of 17 kids who just ripped a
- 58:28woman apart with their bare hands.
- 58:29Right, not Josh Brolin, the actual like the parents that
- 58:32have no idea what the fuck happened and they just fall.
- 58:35They're like. You just got your kids back.
- 58:38But hey, another layer to your kids coming back is they just
- 58:41ripped a random woman that we don't know who they are
- 58:44literally a part like a pack of wolves.
- 58:48It's crazy. Like they're bare hands.
- 58:50He doesn't even acknowledge it though, he just goes.
- 58:52Huh. He's just my child.
- 58:55He's still in protective mode because he's like, oh, there was
- 58:57something more supernatural here.
- 58:58I'm just going to get my kid and get the fuck out of Dodge.
- 59:00Right. And he does like he picks them
- 59:02up, right And then he just stands there and looks at all
- 59:04the kids. I think right is like the whole
- 59:06thing is he's like holding him. He's like, yeah, like what is
- 59:09going on? Like they.
- 59:10Just stopped like now what? Yeah, but he was.
- 59:12He was under her control. Remember?
- 59:15He attacks the teacher because fuck I forget if she gets his
- 59:21hair or she already has his hair or something.
- 59:24I don't know who he were. Talking about Josh Brolin the
- 59:27fucking the dad, the dad of he. Attacked what?
- 59:30Teacher. He attacks.
- 59:31There's a moment where he's under the spell too, while he's
- 59:35being here. No, it's the fucking cop.
- 59:37The cops attacking the teacher the whole time while they're in
- 59:39the house. The dad and the teacher go to
- 59:42the house. Dad fights Tweaker.
- 59:44Cops. The dad fights the tweaker and
- 59:46the cop fights the fucking. I don't remember their names.
- 59:49I suck at remembering the fucking names, Justine.
- 59:51Justine 'cause she pulls the James.
- 59:54She pulls the gun out of the out of the cops.
- 59:57The pollster. I don't know, I'm like.
- 59:59Yeah. He he, he, he and he fucking.
- 1:00:03Get on board. I know, but like, but yeah,
- 1:00:07Paul, Paul attacks Justine Paul the cop, right?
- 1:00:10Right, right. Attacks Justine James.
- 1:00:13I don't remember that. I'm sorry.
- 1:00:14That's the part, right? That's the part.
- 1:00:15OK, so when they're in the house, the when they're.
- 1:00:18In the Lily house. Yeah, Justine goes into the
- 1:00:21Lilies house because they. Oh yeah.
- 1:00:24OK, I'll. Tell you right in the house you
- 1:00:25remember they step over the salt.
- 1:00:27Yeah. Soon as they step over the salt
- 1:00:29things like she uses once again salt as a protection.
- 1:00:32If you cross that salt, you're in trouble.
- 1:00:33That's what it was, yeah. And the whole time I'm like,
- 1:00:36fuck, one of them's going to die or something.
- 1:00:38And then I think he kills the the the James, the the dad kills
- 1:00:43James, I think. The Tweaker The tweaker are
- 1:00:47fighting knocks him into the basement while he's on the
- 1:00:51staff. Yeah, you see all the kids, She.
- 1:00:53Pulls the holster out, shoots Paul because Paul she can't
- 1:00:56control it any otherwise. She shoots.
- 1:00:58Paul gets the gun shoots. James, James, there's.
- 1:01:02Then the parents then come after.
- 1:01:04Because they, he, the kids stepped over the salt, over the.
- 1:01:07Salt because he thought it was. The only way he was like the
- 1:01:10whole. Other thing too, past that point
- 1:01:11he's like, oh, you have my mom, the kids are here, there's shit
- 1:01:15going on downstairs. I've had it.
- 1:01:17So glad I fucking realizes. She realizes that.
- 1:01:22OK, Shit's going South. Yeah, Someone's got to come to
- 1:01:25the house. Yeah.
- 1:01:27So she, like, takes salt and puts it across her doorway.
- 1:01:30And I believe the parents are down the hallway.
- 1:01:34They're. Protecting her.
- 1:01:35She has the the salt at the downstairs with James and Paul
- 1:01:39and then in front of her doorway upstairs she has the kid, her
- 1:01:43parents, the kids parents like guard standing guard outside her
- 1:01:48doorway with like another 6 feet in between them and her.
- 1:01:51Door and. During the struggle of those two
- 1:01:54fighting downstairs, Gladys goes downstairs because now her
- 1:01:57doorway is open because the parents are chasing the child
- 1:02:00who is and they're trying to like shining their way through
- 1:02:02the door to get to him. She goes downstairs and during
- 1:02:05the struggle somehow gets the dad's hair.
- 1:02:08Brolin's character. Right, that's where that comes
- 1:02:11in and then she. Uses Brolin because she's like
- 1:02:13oh this dude's strong and fucking can handle themselves to
- 1:02:15kill them. Take.
- 1:02:16Out. Just hang out the teacher.
- 1:02:18Or Pauline, right? Justine Justine Paul was the
- 1:02:21boyfriend. That's their power couple name.
- 1:02:25Because once the kid then kill, once the kid has the stick snaps
- 1:02:29that the kids kill Gladys. Gladys's power is now broken
- 1:02:32because she's no longer a conduit to Brolin's character,
- 1:02:36and he snaps out of. It right, Right.
- 1:02:37Yeah. Fuck, because he's about to
- 1:02:39choke. Right, but he has now the kid.
- 1:02:41But he's like the only one that breaks out of it, I guess
- 1:02:44because it's so soon, right? Because it doesn't sit in that
- 1:02:48she's soaked any of his POW, any of his life source, I guess
- 1:02:51maybe. And he just snaps out of it.
- 1:02:53Yeah, but everyone else was like, fucking you.
- 1:02:56Could also attribute that to maybe his military mind where he
- 1:03:00once he snapped out he could recover quicker but the time
- 1:03:02frame wasn't there long enough for him to be drained of his
- 1:03:05life force right? Well, the last one here is fun
- 1:03:07facts and possible Easter eggs. Yeah.
- 1:03:12I think the bulging of the eyes thing, because I was saying too,
- 1:03:14like his head was the teeth. The Asian teacher's head was
- 1:03:16going to explode. Yeah.
- 1:03:17But I think that that's because of the damage he caused to his
- 1:03:20own brain and his son. He saw I.
- 1:03:22Had thought at first. How many times?
- 1:03:24Is like where he was smashing in his head on.
- 1:03:27His yeah, that should be a drinking game.
- 1:03:28How many times did the principal slam his fucking face off of a
- 1:03:32surface? Because he does it in the in the
- 1:03:34gas station too. Like several.
- 1:03:36Times the time 217 can possibly be a nod or is a nod to 217.
- 1:03:42In The Shining, Gladys's full origin story was filmed and cut
- 1:03:47for pacing. So there is an origin story that
- 1:03:49was cut from the movie. So maybe we get that.
- 1:03:53Director's cut later, it was already.
- 1:03:55In the film and then they were like so that could be also why
- 1:03:58they want to do the prequel as well.
- 1:04:00That would make more sense for sure.
- 1:04:02The structure is inspired by Mongolian prisoners.
- 1:04:06I never seen that movie, but that's what it says here.
- 1:04:08Marketing used fake local news website, so the realistic
- 1:04:13footage fooled people. I I, I don't know nothing about
- 1:04:15the marketing of this movie, so I didn't see any of.
- 1:04:17That I didn't see much marketing other than weapons.
- 1:04:20Oh, it was the kids. It was the kids running out
- 1:04:22doing the airplane thing. The Naru.
- 1:04:25Yeah. Warner Brothers has confirmed
- 1:04:27Gladys prequel is coming. Of those tribute bids, what what
- 1:04:31hits hardest for you? The shining tie in the viral
- 1:04:33marketing or the Gladys reboot that we kind of talked about at
- 1:04:36AG Nauseam. I really don't.
- 1:04:38I didn't know about The Shining thing.
- 1:04:40Like, I didn't know if that was like a genuine thing or if
- 1:04:43that's just like, because there's a lot of shit that
- 1:04:44people have put online about the film and I'm like, that doesn't
- 1:04:47sound. So I don't know the way that I
- 1:04:49was looking at the the whole 217.
- 1:04:51OK, ready. You ready?
- 1:04:52I'm going to take y'all down a little shrimp.
- 1:04:54First of all, the things starts at 2:17, right?
- 1:04:57The you we've already talked about the teacher Justine having
- 1:05:02a nightmare with the witch in it, and then the other, the dad.
- 1:05:08Yep, just Brolin's name. I.
- 1:05:10Don't know what is his name. Fuck.
- 1:05:11I'm going to look it up now and I'm going to feel like.
- 1:05:14It's something graph, right? Mcgraph or something.
- 1:05:17Mcguff. Mcguff.
- 1:05:18Maybe graph? I feel like, let's go back to
- 1:05:20anyway, I'm going to be like. Josh Brolin's character and the
- 1:05:22weapons. He also was having nightmares or
- 1:05:25like, foreshadowing, right? Of her, Yeah, of her at 2:17 in
- 1:05:29the morning. But there's two people who've
- 1:05:31seen them and 17 kids go missing.
- 1:05:35Right. Interesting 2 ratio 2 to 17.
- 1:05:38I was thinking that. Or them two against the. 17 I
- 1:05:41was thinking that or the teacher and the and the student are the
- 1:05:45only ones that didn't go missing.
- 1:05:46Out of 17. And that was that was like my
- 1:05:48thought process was like 2 out. Of two out of. 2 again. 17
- 1:05:55Archer was his name Archer. Yeah, he.
- 1:05:58Could he could put a live action Archer?
- 1:06:00Yeah, fucking crazy. Here's what it was.
- 1:06:05No, no, yeah, it just confirms what I said already.
- 1:06:09Another reason why I stay away from a lot of that fan theory
- 1:06:12shit, like I like it sometimes and sometimes I don't is I'm a
- 1:06:16pro wrestling fan. Obviously this whole channel is
- 1:06:18very pro wrestling and wrestling fans with the Bray Wyatt shit
- 1:06:22was annoying. Yeah, that's kind of crazy.
- 1:06:24They were. Booking things that I don't even
- 1:06:25think Bray Wyatt himself were even into.
- 1:06:28And the wrestling fan base kind of wrote their own story and
- 1:06:32then to kind of put that into a pop culture.
- 1:06:34I think the biggest fan theory TV show where everyone booked
- 1:06:38their own ending and didn't get what they wanted at all and then
- 1:06:40wrote the whole show off as garbage.
- 1:06:41And that pissed me off because the show was so good was fucking
- 1:06:44Wanda Vision. Wanda Vision was a it's so Wanda
- 1:06:49Vision at the time when it was coming out because Marvel was
- 1:06:52like, no, no, no, we're not going to give you every episode.
- 1:06:54We're going to make you wait every week, which I thought was
- 1:06:56fucking awesome. I hate it so much that's why I
- 1:06:59only watch. Season 1, because every week
- 1:07:02everyone's like, it's Mephisto, it's Mephisto, it's this, it's
- 1:07:05that, it's this, and they got none of it.
- 1:07:07And they're like, well, that fucking whole show sucked.
- 1:07:09I'm like, no, Wanda Vision was excellent.
- 1:07:11You just didn't get what you wanted on somebody else's art
- 1:07:14project. Fuck yourself.
- 1:07:16Wrestling fans do that too. Like, well, it wasn't booked the
- 1:07:18way I would have booked that and I'm guilty of it.
- 1:07:20Sometimes I'm just like, that doesn't really make a lot of
- 1:07:22sense. I'll see how it plays out.
- 1:07:23And then nine times out of 10 they don't play it out anyway.
- 1:07:25They're just like, oh, the next one you're like, you fuck.
- 1:07:28I just feel like as far as like films go and stuff like that or
- 1:07:32like books or anything like that.
- 1:07:34And I guess wrestling too, I've learned through music that like
- 1:07:39writing in the broadest way possible is the best way to
- 1:07:42reach every type of fucking audience.
- 1:07:44So never having an actual bulletin for whatever it is that
- 1:07:48you're trying to get across is ideal.
- 1:07:51And so like, I think that's kind of why there's the whole 217
- 1:07:55thing, why no one knows why they don't answer it.
- 1:07:57Because apparently from the from the interviews I've seen, Zach
- 1:08:02was like, oh, I wrote like the entire first half of the film.
- 1:08:06And then from there I didn't really know where I was going.
- 1:08:09So they filmed like the first half of the movie.
- 1:08:12And as they were filming my first half, he's like, fuck, I
- 1:08:15got it. Really.
- 1:08:15You know, So that's. Why people, the outside people
- 1:08:18like, bro, he's a genius. He had this all structured and
- 1:08:21he's like, Nah man, I was winging it.
- 1:08:23Yeah, pretty much. And I love that there's nothing
- 1:08:25wrong with that and doesn't discredit his art.
- 1:08:27No, for sure. And I think that's that's why
- 1:08:29it's so cool that he has like a sketch comedy background.
- 1:08:33But he wrote one of the greatest horror films of this this year.
- 1:08:38In my opinion. As far as like stories go,
- 1:08:40horror films have not had great. Stories.
- 1:08:42I would say Sinister is really good.
- 1:08:45No sinister. Yes or no sinners?
- 1:08:49Sinners, I haven't watched. Everyone's saying sinners is
- 1:08:51tough. It could be, yeah, yeah, it
- 1:08:53could be. It's.
- 1:08:54Tough or good like tough? Tough is new.
- 1:08:56Tough is. New which one you're saying now?
- 1:08:57Because listen, it depends on what culture you're around
- 1:09:01today. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:09:02Is it lit enough for me though? Yeah, sorry, I'm capping.
- 1:09:06I don't know anyway, if bumpers left you shaking, here's some
- 1:09:11things you can check out Barbarian.
- 1:09:13What was Craig's first breakout film?
- 1:09:15Prisoners in 2013, a gut, a gut punch mystery vibe.
- 1:09:19The witch in 2015, a full car done right.
- 1:09:23And stay tuned obviously for Gladys's prequel already in
- 1:09:26production. So let's wrap this one up and
- 1:09:28that's going to do it for us here at the ABJ podcast.

- 1:11:02Till next time, say curious, say spooky, and keep horror movies.
- 1:11:06Keep your horror movies weird once.
- 1:11:08So Billy the closeout, tell people where they can find you
- 1:11:11and support you. You can find me on Instagram,
- 1:11:14Spotify, I don't know Spotify, I don't know about Spotify.
- 1:11:18Right now I'm on Spotify, but should I be?
- 1:11:21Why every No, no, no, it's all good.
- 1:11:27No, Spotify is just not a great company right now and hasn't
- 1:11:30been so, you know, debating on if I should drop off.
- 1:11:33There's a lot of things where it's like people want to be on
- 1:11:35band camp right now because it's just like supporting an artist
- 1:11:39at the bottom is like. Impossible.
- 1:11:41I get you. Yeah, Let me hear you.
- 1:11:42Let me just let me break. I understand sometimes people
- 1:11:45are on this like let's fight the man and fight the establishment.
- 1:11:49We don't have the luxury. Yeah, we don't have the ability
- 1:11:51to do that if you want to stay. Broke and not reach out of this
- 1:11:55fucking school, county, mine state and playing his shows in
- 1:11:58Pilgrim. Nothing wrong with playing his
- 1:11:59shows, but if you want to grow, you got to be on the platforms.
- 1:12:03Do I like Walmart? Do I like fucking Amazon?
- 1:12:06Do I like these? No, but it's fucking there.
- 1:12:09It's embedded. There's nothing we're going to
- 1:12:11do about it. Yeah.
- 1:12:12Don't remove yourself from the biggest platform for people to
- 1:12:15listen to you because you want to be with the fall punk scene
- 1:12:18and fucking be on band camp. There's nothing wrong with
- 1:12:20somebody. That live their life there's.
- 1:12:22Nothing wrong with band camp. I like band camp because they
- 1:12:24can actually pay the artist directly.
- 1:12:26I think it's a great service, but don't fucking make your net
- 1:12:30smaller because you're not. Definitely killing accessibility
- 1:12:33is probably don't worry. Not wrong, but also.
- 1:12:38I'm not ever going to do it though, like now, But you have
- 1:12:42to state it. You have to say it.
- 1:12:44I don't. I don't like it.
- 1:12:46Yeah, I don't know. It is tough right now because
- 1:12:49there's so many fucking people in in the industry that'll
- 1:12:53ultimately could cancel themselves, but they'll shame
- 1:12:56you for it. But it's like you're doing it
- 1:12:57dumb ass like. But anyway, you can find me on
- 1:13:01everything as the converse kid, no spaces.
- 1:13:04I think on Instagram it's like underscores.
- 1:13:07Yeah, it's the under score, converse, under score kid.
- 1:13:11Maybe I'll get sued for that one day.
- 1:13:14But I have a tour coming up in November, so be on the lookout
- 1:13:18for that. It's going to be fun.
- 1:13:21Next weekend, Sir, you and I will both.
- 1:13:23Be. Oh yeah, somewhere.
- 1:13:25Yeah. I don't know if it's gonna air
- 1:13:26by then though. Ohh shit really you son of a
- 1:13:29bitch, We're. We're recording ahead of time.
- 1:13:31I'm. Trying to get a bank?
- 1:13:32Well, if you have a week last week, next week, last week, if
- 1:13:36you have a time machine, Pink Moon collective October 18th.
- 1:13:42I didn't book anything for this this month.
- 1:13:44I don't have a lot to fucking go off of because I was like I got
- 1:13:48booked. Oh so.
- 1:13:48Yeah, I'm double booked and he's also booked he's.
- 1:13:50Got booked for a wrestling job. Oh shit, who are you with at?
- 1:13:53That new era for wrestling wants me to come in and do a.
- 1:13:56Renounce. Oh, that's rad.
- 1:13:57Yeah, I feel like I've heard of them.
- 1:13:59I used to work. With them and then I we caught
- 1:14:01up on. One worked with them up in
- 1:14:03Scranton. They were the ones who sponsored
- 1:14:07the vape people sponsored. Their oh shit, yeah, OK, the
- 1:14:10union vapor thing at that yeah other.
- 1:14:12Good company, have no beef or anything but we kind of went our
- 1:14:15own ways and they asked me to come in and help them with some
- 1:14:16ring announcers so so why not? That's sweet.
- 1:14:19Yeah. Hell yeah.
- 1:14:20What do you want to plug? I will also be at the Pink Moon
- 1:14:24Collective that the following week I will not be anywhere.
- 1:14:32But yeah, I'm just, I'm doing the crafting thing.
- 1:14:36I'm making potion pads and. Which are really rad.
- 1:14:41I never thought quilting thought of that as.
- 1:14:43To be a thing, I like these things.
- 1:14:46You can fold them up and take them with you.
- 1:14:48Like if you're like anything, yeah, I like it a lot.
- 1:14:51You can wash them. Yeah, they're washable.
- 1:14:55Sweet. And insulated so they actually
- 1:14:57don't leave a ring. Like, 'cause I like my yarn
- 1:15:00ones. I like, I like the crocheted
- 1:15:02look of coasters. Like I don't actually have one
- 1:15:05sitting here behind me. I hate me anyway.
- 1:15:07But. The tiny holes.
- 1:15:10With the little holes in it, when you have condensation,
- 1:15:13it'll still seep through and like obviously they yarn the
- 1:15:16carpets some of that, but some of it it won't yeah and like so
- 1:15:19the the crochet ones are good for like warm stuff still.
- 1:15:22But as far as like if you have something with condensation, it
- 1:15:25has that little bit of padding in it, so it like soaks it up
- 1:15:28and absorbs it and then it. Is the condensation the problem
- 1:15:31or just the bottom of the glass leaving an imprint?
- 1:15:35I never understood that. It's the condensation is coming
- 1:15:38from the outside and then it sticks like it goes.
- 1:15:40It drips down to the bottom and then it sits under the ring and
- 1:15:44it holds. Like it wouldn't leave an indent
- 1:15:46if there was no condensation. Right, so the coaster stopping
- 1:15:49the water the surface from touching the surface, but the
- 1:15:53water itself getting on the table is not a huge deal.
- 1:15:55No, that is the. Deal.
- 1:15:56It does stop the water too. Yeah, the problem is the water
- 1:15:59touching the table is soaking into the wood or whatever it is
- 1:16:02that's. Yeah, So even if it wasn't,
- 1:16:04you're. Preventing.
- 1:16:05Sorry, but you're preventing the ring from the can or glass on
- 1:16:09the thing, not so much the water spillage.
- 1:16:11Both. You're doing both.
- 1:16:13Who cares if it's a ring? I care about the ring.
- 1:16:16The ring is OK. So hold up.
- 1:16:18Pause, Pause. Pause, Pause.
- 1:16:19Pause. Tony does this well.
- 1:16:25I just touch myself. And we will.
- 1:16:27Wheel the basement after the music by the Converse kid.
- 1:16:30Here's the problem. We're going to have some bonus
- 1:16:32content for you guys before the cameras roll, and then we're
- 1:16:34going to do a little bonus thing for you guys after.
- 1:16:36Yeah, we'll start right back this call for a bit, I promise.
- 1:16:40Here's about the conference, kid.
- 1:16:41We'll see you later. Like.
- 1:17:12I don't even remember what I ate.
- 1:17:14Literally the doctor was asking me this morning, when's the last
- 1:17:16time you ate or drank something? And I was like, boy.
- 1:17:21Do you eat dinner at a point? At a go.
- 1:17:22Fuck, what is last time I ate? And then at the very, very end,
- 1:17:26so this is what I'm going to do, too.
- 1:17:28So remember the old school pop cult, the old school not going
- 1:17:30high school where it's like, hey, what else have you been
- 1:17:32into or watching or like stuff like that?
- 1:17:34I still want to do that. Yeah.
- 1:17:35So once we stop the episode, like, hey, this is it.
- 1:17:37That's the end of the topic. The music hits your music and
- 1:17:42then and then it's and then it's we cut almost like a mini
- 1:17:48episode where it's like 1520 minutes and just like, hey, this
- 1:17:50is what I've been into. This is some music I'm listening
- 1:17:52to stuff like that. And then any albums come in like
- 1:17:55if you want to, if you just want to come for album reviews as
- 1:17:58well, that's in like, so I know she wants, I told her I'll do
- 1:18:01some sleep token stuff with her. She wants to cover sleep token.
- 1:18:04And then every week we can kind of rotate, like you pick a band,
- 1:18:07I pick a band, she picks a band. And then we can kind of do like
- 1:18:09a thing where it's like, oh, it's release free this week,
- 1:18:12let's do an album review. That'd be rad.
- 1:18:15I'm down. What do you think the odds are
- 1:18:17that AI will pick up a skull and think it's a face?
- 1:18:21Pretty likely. Nah.
- 1:18:23No, that was Nah. You're fine.
- 1:18:25You're fine. Head, it gets head all the time.
- 1:18:27But listen, there's a lot on your shoulder.
- 1:18:32Yeah, so. Can we just move that back a
- 1:18:35little further? How can you see?
- 1:18:37Oh, you got the screen on your side?
- 1:18:38Yeah. Because I I use it for the time
- 1:18:40cubes and stamps to make sure it's recording.
- 1:18:42That's really. Good, I've got it more in the
- 1:18:44shot instead of less. In.
- 1:18:49The shot? Perfect.
- 1:18:50Good. Gucci.
- 1:18:52There you go, ambiance. Billy's is still way in the
- 1:18:57shot. You want me to move it?
- 1:18:59I got it because I don't want to.
- 1:19:02I want it in the shot, but I also don't want it to turn you
- 1:19:05completely red. There So like just hitting the
- 1:19:08backlight like a back shot, the back shot.
- 1:19:14Very good. It's just it's face tracking.
- 1:19:17Yeah, it'll be. I think it'll be fun.
- 1:19:20Hi, Ziggy, Welcome to the upstairs that you've never come
- 1:19:23up to. You can pull a tighter shot on
- 1:19:29Billy. How How does my hair look from
- 1:19:32that angle? I forgot my hair.
- 1:19:36Yeah, I forgot. I forgot my hat.
- 1:19:39I forgot my hat in the car as I parked on the side of your
- 1:19:43house. I was like, am I in the right
- 1:19:44place? Feels like a fucking horror
- 1:19:46movie. No.
- 1:19:54Cameras are rolling, so please don't smoke right now.
- 1:19:56Did you already smoke? I just hit my face.
- 1:19:59Oh, babes are fine. That's fine.
- 1:20:01She's just. Like I don't have anything to
- 1:20:04smooth. Would you like one of the?
- 1:20:08Would you like heroin? Yeah.
- 1:20:10All right. Three are starting the episode
- 1:20:16right now for the movie Weapons from 2025.
- 1:20:22Three. All right, the coaster, we're
- 1:20:25back. Coaster.
- 1:20:26OK, here's the understanding man.
- 1:20:28I'm not getting that the coaster catches the water at this point.
- 1:20:32The coaster catches the water, yes.
- 1:20:34I'm aware of that. And also stops the imprint.
- 1:20:37But why are you put? But the imprint is why most
- 1:20:39people say please put a coaster down.
- 1:20:41I don't want rings on my tables. Because of the.
- 1:20:44Yeah, because. Of the water, but because the
- 1:20:47ring itself if you were to have it on wood like if it was on
- 1:20:50this right, I agree with you the water would warp the the ring
- 1:20:54itself would be warped and you wouldn't get rid of that it's
- 1:20:57not a wipeable the water is gone and now the ring is gone.
- 1:21:00It's the fact that the water. So blue, right?
- 1:21:02Now. And I'm so blue.
- 1:21:05I'm just also worried about the visual.
- 1:21:07Yeah. So what I'm saying is you're
- 1:21:09saying your, your, your crocheted ones, the water will
- 1:21:13still seep through and get to the table.
- 1:21:15And I said, I don't think that's as much of a problem because
- 1:21:18you're still buffering the bottom of the glass and item
- 1:21:21that you're sitting on the coaster from hitting the table.
- 1:21:23So you're not getting the ring. Yeah, you're still getting the
- 1:21:26water down. I understand, but like at a bar
- 1:21:28they're not caring if the bar gets shit spilled on it, they're
- 1:21:31not carrying. It right because bars haven't
- 1:21:33been made out of wood since the 1800s.
- 1:21:35I get that, but in general, like even the Pilgrim's Bar is made
- 1:21:38out of like concrete. They don't want the ring from
- 1:21:41the glass. They don't.
- 1:21:42Care about a ring. They don't want the stickiness.
- 1:21:44Kilgaroo doesn't care about a ring on the.
- 1:21:48Bar, it's a, it's a, it's a spectrum.
- 1:21:55Essentially is water wet or is like do you?
- 1:21:58No, you're it's not just like coasters aren't just for water.
- 1:22:02Coasters are to like stop spillage like but.
- 1:22:05What she's saying is with the crocheted one, it wasn't
- 1:22:08catching. So this is better, right?
- 1:22:10Because it's soaking. Anything in?
- 1:22:12Yeah, my argument was are you more worried about the
- 1:22:15condensation hitting the table? Are you more worried about the
- 1:22:17ring that the? Neither.
- 1:22:19I don't care about the ring, I care about water.
- 1:22:21My. Whole life has been a coaster of
- 1:22:23the. Ring on my table the whole point
- 1:22:25of the coasters to stop wetness from hitting the surface.
- 1:22:29Okay. And most coasters.
- 1:22:30Are made in ring form in droplet form in splash.
- 1:22:34Form, I guess just wetness, my surface, my life has.
- 1:22:37Cushion in between. Fucking don't leave a ring.
- 1:22:40Don't leave a ring. The rings over the issue.
- 1:22:42The ring was what the problem. Was yeah, but the only way it
- 1:22:45would leave the. Design did not have the.
- 1:22:47Ring, right. The only way it would leave the
- 1:22:48ring is if there was condensation, like a warm yeah.
- 1:22:53But like what I'm saying is, if a little condensation gets
- 1:22:55outside, you're more still protecting the bottom of the can
- 1:22:57or glass from leaving the ring because the coaster's still.
- 1:23:00OK, so I'm gonna I'm gonna take you down a second separate path.
- 1:23:04Now what? If you had a hot cup.
- 1:23:06OK, yeah, so you're gonna if you have a hot cup mug and you have
- 1:23:12that mug has like a concave right or convex on the on the
- 1:23:16bottom of it. So it's.
- 1:23:18Also going to have the ring right?
- 1:23:20You will. Still have a ring that's not
- 1:23:22coming from the outside, it's only being suctioned on the
- 1:23:24inside. So the coaster another reason.
- 1:23:26For the coaster is for that heat to not warp your wood as well.
- 1:23:31You can still get a ring without having wetness on the.
- 1:23:34Outside and also so that you don't then pick up the drink,
- 1:23:36put your arm down where it was and then burn yourself.
- 1:23:39There you go. Yeah, so another pause.
- 1:23:42Content. We all, we like to take the
- 1:23:45second to talk about things that we're watching and that we're
- 1:23:47into anything music, pop culture.
- 1:23:51Hell yeah. Actually, where this is the
- 1:23:52horror. Episode.
- 1:23:54Have you seen any other horror stuff?
- 1:23:56I've I watched Good boy. Oh yeah, that's right.
- 1:23:59Yeah. Y'all spoiling y'all watch that,
- 1:24:01I want to see it. Yeah, you do.
- 1:24:04Without spoiling, it's great. It's a really good horror movie.
- 1:24:08I think it does a lot more at the same.
- 1:24:13I think it does a lot more of the same of weapons, where gore
- 1:24:16isn't necessarily a thing that happens.
- 1:24:19It's not. Oversaturated.
- 1:24:20Yeah. It's not how everyone knows the
- 1:24:21premise of the movie and then people are hating the movie
- 1:24:24because they didn't like the premise that's been told to the
- 1:24:27entire time. Yeah, they're like, there's
- 1:24:28nothing really happening. It's just from the perspective
- 1:24:30of a dog. Yeah, no shit.
- 1:24:32That's. What you.
- 1:24:33And that's also a lie. A lot happens.
- 1:24:35So yeah. But I will say I don't wanna
- 1:24:41spoil it, but I feel like it's necessary.
- 1:24:44The dog doesn't die. Yes.
- 1:24:46I will say that the. Director even came out and.
- 1:24:48Said that there is a dead dog. There is a there.
- 1:24:52Is a dog. But the main character Dog isn't
- 1:24:55Yes. Gotcha.
- 1:24:56Yes, and there is depictions of not animal cruelty but
- 1:25:05definitely endangerment. So.
- 1:25:08So if that's something, I think that I think those are fair
- 1:25:11warnings, you know you. Know is.
- 1:25:12That like animal violence? I'm trying to more.
- 1:25:15Cruelty like we're not killing the dog, but is there like
- 1:25:18animal abuse? Kind of yeah, Kind of.
- 1:25:21Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's hinted at but not
- 1:25:23visualized. And it's it's a really good
- 1:25:25telling. I mean, it made me like after
- 1:25:27the movie I was like, shit, I need to be more kind to my cats.
- 1:25:30Like not like in in The thing is like I don't even do like, I
- 1:25:34guess I just don't do anything with my cats.
- 1:25:36I'm like, I need to do more stuff with my cats.
- 1:25:38Like you know what I mean? This movie gives me like Courage
- 1:25:40the cowardly vibe. Dogs.
- 1:25:45Yeah, I know. Yeah, sorry.
- 1:25:46We're I always have the theory that what what Courage was
- 1:25:49seeing wasn't real, right? Courage was seeing things that
- 1:25:53the dogs can see and humans can't, right.
- 1:25:56He's always like, would you chill the fuck out?
- 1:25:59Like the dog barking, like going crazy.
- 1:26:01We don't know what the dog receiving.
- 1:26:04I'm trying to watch. TV, shut the fuck up.
- 1:26:10And I also think in the same way as I'm like,
- 1:26:32no, you're good. I'm just saying like, I
- 1:26:34definitely feel like what good boy does.
- 1:26:37And here's the thing too. It was not written to be an A
- 1:26:40theatrical release. It was written as a like for a
- 1:26:43Film Festival. So even taking that into mind,
- 1:26:46like, fuck, this is a good movie.
- 1:26:48And the fact that they someone backed it enough to get it to
- 1:26:52play in theaters, you know, not long after.
- 1:26:55It was pretty long after, actually.
- 1:26:57Four years, like film directors and stuff are getting shots.
- 1:26:59Yeah. But I do think that keeping that
- 1:27:03in mind and realizing, oh, this is a low budget kind of film, it
- 1:27:08makes it that much more impressive the shots that they
- 1:27:10pull off and it I'm pretty sure a majority of it's like
- 1:27:13practical. There's some like CGI stuff, but
- 1:27:15like I've just been on the the go with like anything practical
- 1:27:20lately. I don't know if it has to do
- 1:27:21with the ties towards the the like war family section or
- 1:27:25whatever, but it definitely is like I'm more so excuse me
- 1:27:29fucking hey, what the hell? I am more so inclined to watch a
- 1:27:31film that's all practical based effects with like just a hint of
- 1:27:35CG that like, you know, like maybe like a blur, yeah, or
- 1:27:39something. Yeah, absolutely.
- 1:27:40I think practical effects are for, I like, I like practical
- 1:27:42makeup. I like practical stuff like
- 1:27:45that, like. I like art.
- 1:27:46Where it's just like, oh cool, you can, you can make the
- 1:27:49monster in CGI or we could we could put prosthetics.
- 1:27:52On it's still The thing is though, like is I guess for me
- 1:27:54with CGI is like it is very important I.
- 1:27:56Appreciate both if that makes sense.
- 1:27:57Yeah, well, because it's still time consuming.
- 1:27:59It's not like you just fucking. There's a difference between AI
- 1:28:03and CGI, and that's like a whole fucking conversation that people
- 1:28:07have to have. But AI is in everything.
- 1:28:10AI isn't just ChatGPT. Yeah, AI is in everything.
- 1:28:14That's. What the That's what the
- 1:28:15battle's supposed to be against, but people like, don't realize
- 1:28:18that. Like there's the.
- 1:28:18You're fighting ChatGPT Yeah, when AI is on the phone that
- 1:28:22you're making the post on, on the platform you're being a post
- 1:28:25on, on the fucking server, you're like you you are
- 1:28:28complaining about chat, GPGP, GPT on a device and a platform
- 1:28:35that is 1000% run by AI on an algorithm that is built into the
- 1:28:40blank. There's so many layers that and
- 1:28:42if. You'd like to call someone you
- 1:28:43can sit on a Tele. What is it called?
- 1:28:45Teleprompt like which is also. I I understand that there is
- 1:28:51cultural and there's environmental effects that are
- 1:28:54happening because we're building these things for a.
- 1:28:56Well, that's the problem, right? It's the abundance.
- 1:29:00Sure of it. This is where, yes, maybe we are
- 1:29:03having a problem where it's killing water supplies and power
- 1:29:06supplies and this and that. But now as a country, we need to
- 1:29:10figure out ways to then ramp up the water ramp up everything
- 1:29:14else. We need to make it so small
- 1:29:17towns like this whose Internet is not and water supply and
- 1:29:20everything sucks because we're still on fucking pipes and
- 1:29:23things that are from the 1800s and night, you know what I mean?
- 1:29:26And fucking New York City has upgraded in their
- 1:29:28infrastructure. We need to then build our
- 1:29:31infrastructure up to match what's then coming to make us
- 1:29:34more technology sound. It's not.
- 1:29:36Let's get rid of the technology. It's.
- 1:29:38Not utilizing tool that you're given, not fucking you destroy
- 1:29:42the tool that is there. Like there's no, there's no need
- 1:29:46to fucking do your scream in my background.
- 1:29:49Like that's just not necessary once you get to go to Photoshop
- 1:29:53for two seconds or like a picture app and fucking do it.
- 1:29:56Like it's just like it's those small things are the things that
- 1:29:59a lot of people are bothered by. But instead of stating that,
- 1:30:02they're just like Abolish. AI and it's like you don't know
- 1:30:04what the. Fuck, you're talking.
- 1:30:06About is like the podcast podcast and go away tomorrow
- 1:30:08because AI you literally tell AI to make you a podcast that you
- 1:30:11can listen to based on. Something sure.
- 1:30:12There's no. Tell me a story.
- 1:30:13Yeah. Yeah, exactly you.
- 1:30:14Can literally say AII need a thumbnail and artwork for this
- 1:30:17and you're killing local artists you music.
- 1:30:21Hey AI make me have I want to hear this song sang by this song
- 1:30:26and this theme. And this and it makes and and.
- 1:30:28You don't have a fucking. I think the tough thing too is a
- 1:30:31lot of people will make that argument.
- 1:30:34The artist thing, right? A lot of people make that
- 1:30:36argument. They won't even pay an artist
- 1:30:40and they won't even do it themselves.
- 1:30:41So it's like it's a struggle, right?
- 1:30:43Because it's like I'm not good with my fucking hands and shit
- 1:30:46like that. But if I I think in theory, like
- 1:30:48if I could Draw Something and then be like, hey, can you like
- 1:30:52just refine the edges, not like make a whole new picture.
- 1:30:55What the fuck is the problem with that?
- 1:30:57You know, or like, can you show me how to do that?
- 1:31:01Utilize it as a tool, not as a. Fucking as your crutch.
- 1:31:04There's a lot of content creators who are who are taking
- 1:31:07all of the a lot of their work and making AI do a lot of it,
- 1:31:11and they're just sitting back doing nothing.
- 1:31:12And then it's, it's one of those things where like, remember in
- 1:31:15like middle school? And they're like, can you cite
- 1:31:18your work? And then like, everyone's going
- 1:31:20to go back and cite their fucking script.
- 1:31:23And it's going to be the same shit.
- 1:31:25Yeah. It's going to be like Tommy did
- 1:31:27this and then Sydney did the same fucking thing.
- 1:31:30Like, yeah. But the realistic thing is if
- 1:31:32you tell a class full of kids this, fucking give me a report
- 1:31:35on fucking how much of Adolf Hitler.
- 1:31:38I mean that's a great more kids should learn about him so they
- 1:31:40see his blueprint is being used. Like if any historical person, I
- 1:31:45need three of us to do the same report on this.
- 1:31:48Well, the only thing that's going to make that report
- 1:31:50different is your human brain's version of what you took from
- 1:31:56that research. What what they did historically
- 1:31:59isn't going to change. Right.
- 1:32:00It's how you word it, how your your phrasing.
- 1:32:04Yeah, phrasing is to. Pull the curtain back What the
- 1:32:08the how I break things down in segments and everything that's
- 1:32:11AI help me write that. I'm not a good writer.
- 1:32:13I struggle with writing and then when I try to write things down,
- 1:32:16I forget what I'm trying to do and I I'm using AI as a tool to
- 1:32:19help me show your words, structure my content.
- 1:32:23But then also because I struggle as these things also if I went
- 1:32:27and also if I want to take the next step in my career with
- 1:32:30reading off a teleprompter or doing voice acting work, I need
- 1:32:33to get better at reading out loud.
- 1:32:35Growing up, I used to fucking have anxiety being in class and
- 1:32:38like Tony, read this chapter in front of the class.
- 1:32:40I'd rather fucking kill myself than fucking do that.
- 1:32:43Now I'm doing it all my content. Like I think I was good for a
- 1:32:46long time, just fucking going off the cuff.
- 1:32:48But then I feel like we would lose the structure of the topic
- 1:32:51of the episode. And then people be like, I'm not
- 1:32:53watching this because I tuned in for this episode and you're
- 1:32:56talking for 35 minutes. About something else.
- 1:32:58Yeah, and this is where the second, the bonus content at the
- 1:33:01end is where I can throw that in.
- 1:33:02Now am I using AI? Sure.
- 1:33:04But my thumbnails, everything I'm doing there, that's done by
- 1:33:07me. I couldn't tell.
- 1:33:09Would it be? I was there in a bit.
- 1:33:10I was like, are you serious? I thought that was everything
- 1:33:13else. My.
- 1:33:14Content. No Editing.
- 1:33:15I'm not a strong editor. I'm still learning.
- 1:33:17And I had to. I was using a program called Cap
- 1:33:19Cut. Cap Cut changed so drastically
- 1:33:22it doesn't run on my computer anymore.
- 1:33:23So I went to Adobe. Now I found a program and an add
- 1:33:26on in Adobe that I can drop these three cameras in.
- 1:33:30Say this camera's me and Lily, this camera's Billy, this
- 1:33:32camera's all three of us, right? It takes that footage and
- 1:33:36fucking lines it up. Lines everything up.
- 1:33:38But then also says Billy's talking.
- 1:33:40Cut to Billy's camera. Right.
- 1:33:41And that's utilizing it in a way that actually fucking is helpful
- 1:33:45and not just like, you know, I mean editing a.
- 1:33:48Podcast because I have a 40 hour week job to do.
- 1:33:51I have a relationship to maintain.
- 1:33:52I'm someone who didn't maintain a relationship and friendships
- 1:33:56and everything because I sat on a table and did everything.
- 1:33:58Like so yes, am I using AI to help with my editing?
- 1:34:00Sure. But I'm also now using that time
- 1:34:03that I'm not putting into all that to fucking be with humans
- 1:34:07and be and be with my partner and enjoy stuff.
- 1:34:10And like, so in that aspect, it's like, sure is.
- 1:34:13Am I rooting the environment? But it's not like, here's the
- 1:34:16thing that was like. Sitting there going hey.
- 1:34:19Can. You find a podcast about
- 1:34:21weapons. Yeah, that's it.
- 1:34:23There's your prompt. Like you're sitting there going,
- 1:34:25hey, here's my, here's my information.
- 1:34:28This is what I want. This is what I want to talk
- 1:34:30about. These are the people I want to
- 1:34:31talk about. I want to talk about other
- 1:34:33things that they've done. I want to have this and this and
- 1:34:35this and. Like, but even in my prompt, I
- 1:34:36have it written down, like, hey, give me a section about the
- 1:34:38director. Yeah, guys, what do we think
- 1:34:40about the director? And then we are putting our
- 1:34:42genuine human thoughts where we're still not making it a
- 1:34:45complete AI podcast. AI is giving me that structure
- 1:34:48to say something. Hey, here's a topic.
- 1:34:49Then here's your characters. Then here's your movie.
- 1:34:51But still, I feel like I'm doing a good job.
- 1:34:54At least for me, anyway. This is the first time you've
- 1:34:56seen this new structure. Yeah.
- 1:34:57Yeah. Where I still feel like my guess
- 1:34:58is involved. And we're still talking about
- 1:35:00the movie. Yeah.
- 1:35:01And I also think it keeps you on track too.
- 1:35:04I think that would be ideal. Send the fucking format to to
- 1:35:08the next person. You know what I mean?
- 1:35:10Send the format. That way it'll be a lot easier.
- 1:35:12But. A part of me is also terrified
- 1:35:14that I send someone hey this is my and then they immediately
- 1:35:17judge that this is a complete AI podcast.
- 1:35:19I don't want to help anymore right?
- 1:35:20But I'm, I'm, I'm letting you come here experiencing.
- 1:35:24Right. I think using, I think using the
- 1:35:26pinpoints will be so much more helpful.
- 1:35:29Yeah, like in that aspect. So you could be like here we're
- 1:35:32on Section 1 right now and then like, sure, you know what I
- 1:35:35mean. And then you can cut out like
- 1:35:36when you're like, oh, Section 1 because.
- 1:35:38Even. When AI does this, I even tell
- 1:35:40AI Hannah like this and then and I talk to AI and then because AI
- 1:35:45is fucking what it is. It's learning me and like even
- 1:35:48my intro and outros, it's learning my humor and it's
- 1:35:50watching my channel and it's saying, oh, this is like if you
- 1:35:53want to bless in front of your boss, you'll get fired.
- 1:35:55Good for you. Like that's something I would
- 1:35:56say, you know, which is kind of fucking weird that it's doing
- 1:35:59that. Yeah, there was a fucking.
- 1:36:01I was driving home and I left my Cox Cable out and out of my car
- 1:36:07because I had to take it to the garage.
- 1:36:08So I took it out and I forgot to put it back in.
- 1:36:10And so it was like at my fucking house.
- 1:36:12So I was driving home today from New Hampshire, which is a six
- 1:36:15hour drive. And then I just stopped here
- 1:36:17because I was like, I want to do the weapons episode and if I
- 1:36:20don't do it, I'm going to be so mad at myself.
- 1:36:22Chuck couldn't. Make it My aunt Courtney was
- 1:36:24going to jump in, but she couldn't make.
- 1:36:25It either. Oh damn.
- 1:36:26Well, I I hope that I helped them not yeah, because I fucking
- 1:36:31love Zach. And so even if we did like
- 1:36:33episodes where we watched his previous films, I think it'd be
- 1:36:36funny. For us on the list.
- 1:36:37Well, I think it'd be funny for us to watch Miss March 1st
- 1:36:40because that's a comedic movie, and then go to Barbarian and
- 1:36:44you'd be like, what the fuck? Like what the fuck is the
- 1:36:47drastic change? People don't stay till they're
- 1:36:50like they have a format maybe or a style.
- 1:36:52Is that done? I.
- 1:36:53Think it's just about. Hey, Ruby's Ruby.
- 1:36:58What is it, Ruby? Movie soap.
- 1:37:00Works movie soap or candles, and we need to order a new one soon.
- 1:37:04They're a local business. I fucking love Hell yeah, yeah,
- 1:37:07I I, I, I remember the WHOP candle I used to put on the
- 1:37:10podcast. It was called Whop.
- 1:37:12Yeah, but it was like a warm apple pie.
- 1:37:14Not yeah. I was like, this candle's
- 1:37:17fucking amazing. And then I used to use their
- 1:37:18soap like their heart like they had a bar so shit.
- 1:37:22And I was like, dude, their so their stuff is so good.
- 1:37:24That's right. And then we were at Pride and I
- 1:37:27physically met the people who did it and I was like, dude,
- 1:37:29I've been a fan of your fucking shit forever.
- 1:37:31And they're like, what? I was like, yeah, I love your
- 1:37:33products. Like that's so, yeah, they're,
- 1:37:35they're local. You know the stop the shop down
- 1:37:39the street from the YMCA, between the YMCA and the police
- 1:37:41station, there's like that building that all these local
- 1:37:43craft people put their stuff inside of and you go inside
- 1:37:46there and it's like a little. Have you ever been in there?
- 1:37:48No, it's like a little. The window is there and it's
- 1:37:50like right by. It's like a consignment shop.
- 1:37:52Kind of, but it's all like, but they their stuff was in there.
- 1:37:55It's. Here, impossible.
- 1:37:56Oh, in in my town. Yeah, I'll show you where it's
- 1:37:58at, but I. Don't know.
- 1:38:00I don't even. She hasn't.
- 1:38:01Even been in there? Yeah.
- 1:38:02Oh shit, I would like to go, Yeah.
- 1:38:04Yeah, but it's a cool little place.
- 1:38:05But that's where I first found them.
- 1:38:06But now they found they have their own thing.
- 1:38:08I like them a lot. There's a girl at my job who
- 1:38:09makes soaps. I buy her soaps a lot.
- 1:38:12And then there's there's this place I want to order some stuff
- 1:38:14from because I had a beard oil from them and something else I
- 1:38:16love. But they're called Conjuring.
- 1:38:18But they're more like spooky paranormal witchy vibe soaps and
- 1:38:23stuff. I normally go.
- 1:38:25To like locally for that stuff was Loki and Layla's candles.
- 1:38:29They were good too, but I think he took the regular store out so
- 1:38:32now they've just been kind of, I'm not sure where.
- 1:38:33They've been, but I used to use their stuff a lot too.
- 1:38:35Yeah, Loki and Layla were like big supporters.
- 1:38:37Well, they're still big supporters of the content.
- 1:38:39I've seen them at Brewfest and they we still, we're still very,
- 1:38:41they had a candle. It was called like the Husky.
- 1:38:43And I was like, dude, this smells like Nirvana's closet.
- 1:38:45And it was like very non chompa Patchouli based candle.
- 1:38:47That's awesome, I love this. So we carry the incense from
- 1:38:50that used to be in Nirvana's closet.
- 1:38:52Really. Yeah.
- 1:38:53Where are they? The wild Berry.
- 1:38:55Is that what it was? I thought that was just knock
- 1:38:58champa at the whole time. Nah, dude, come through because
- 1:39:01like I tell people that all the time.
- 1:39:03Like do you ever go to Nirvana's closet in the store?
- 1:39:05We're the only shop that I know that actually carries
- 1:39:07themselves. And there's a Inkersona.
- 1:39:09There's a smoke shop that also does, but not as many.
- 1:39:12Not as. Many how much is like a a pack
- 1:39:14of? Ten of them's like 3 bucks.
- 1:39:17Maybe I'll just have. Sometimes people though,
- 1:39:19sometimes people spend like $100 in like, I'll just, I'll just be
- 1:39:23like just next time. You come to the podcast, I'll
- 1:39:25throw you like 20. Just bring me like $20 worth of.
- 1:39:27Incentive. I got you.
- 1:39:28Guys, I have a little instant thing.
- 1:39:29I usually like one for the podcast, but I have I didn't do
- 1:39:32it the sense I have the candle lit, but hell yeah.
- 1:39:34But yeah, man, that was really. Fun.
- 1:39:35We just yeah, this is our little tangent on candles.
- 1:39:39So unrelated. There's one more thing I want to
- 1:39:40talk about, but I also want to keep an eye on the Yeah, the
- 1:39:43recordings. But I think we're good.
- 1:39:44But I started watching the Ed Gein.
- 1:39:46I did not. I did not.
- 1:39:48I've seen a lot on it and I like the full.
- 1:39:50Review because I want to do a review on it, but where I'm at
- 1:39:52right now, I really like it but I also really hate it.
- 1:39:54I'm afraid to watch it because I've I've been just like
- 1:39:58anything documentary on serial killers or anything like that
- 1:40:01lately has just gotten into my head and I'm like, man, I don't
- 1:40:04trust anyone fucking near me at all.
- 1:40:06Like and and it's and it's not AI know that that's just kind of
- 1:40:11like. Well, no, it's a rational fear.
- 1:40:13I was going to say that's an irrational fear, but no, it's
- 1:40:15totally rational because the dudes like people have families
- 1:40:18and they do that shit to the fucking family.
- 1:40:21And I'm like, and so like, that anxiety lingers in me and I've
- 1:40:24been trying to stay away from too realistic, you know, I
- 1:40:30figured. And then I saw her.
- 1:40:32So, yeah, so I, I'm going to sound like a very desensitized
- 1:40:36person right now, and I'm going to come off as probably really
- 1:40:38psychotic and gross when I say this, but I don't mean it this
- 1:40:41way. I, I watch a lot of serial
- 1:40:44killer stuff. I'm fascinated by what makes
- 1:40:46them tick. It's the human experience,
- 1:40:49right? I, I love mine.
- 1:40:50I love mine but. Why do people become fucking
- 1:40:52therapists or like, you know what I mean?
- 1:40:54Like it's. I'm very, I'm very.
- 1:40:56I have a lot of theories and sometimes those theories
- 1:40:58probably offend and upset people, but it is what it is.
- 1:41:00But I always was the impressive. I was always told that Ed Gein's
- 1:41:03the worst of the worst. And then researching and
- 1:41:06learning about Ed Gein, I was like, he really wasn't that bad.
- 1:41:10He but what he did was so early on and it was so publicized at
- 1:41:15such an early time and it was trying to deflect a lot from
- 1:41:18what was happening in the world at that time.
- 1:41:20Because that's the dude. That also inspired so many other
- 1:41:24cultural horror movies that were so graphic and gratuitous.
- 1:41:28Well that's what I was going to say.
- 1:41:29He was the dude that inspired like Leatherface's character and
- 1:41:32Psycho. And Silence of the Lambs, but he
- 1:41:38was essentially, and I'm going to say simple minded, but he was
- 1:41:41mentally challenged but also had a lot of deficiencies and stuff
- 1:41:45like that and then had a very overbearing mother.
- 1:41:47But he only has confirmed 2 kills under his belt, right?
- 1:41:51And the rest was just him grave robbing and then taking dug up
- 1:41:54bodies, which I don't think. I think it's still gross and
- 1:41:57weird. Like I think he didn't murder
- 1:41:59them. I think it's a little weirder to
- 1:42:01be Jeffrey Dahmer killing someone and then taking their
- 1:42:04bodies and physically by hand the person he then killed and
- 1:42:08then dismembering their body and eating it and doing what he.
- 1:42:12Did I feel? Like he was like, well, this
- 1:42:13person's already dead in his rational, simple mind.
- 1:42:16Well, they're already gone. No one's going to care that
- 1:42:18they're in the ground or not. I can, I want to, I'm fascinated
- 1:42:20by it. I'm going to go dig them up.
- 1:42:21And I'm not saying what he did was correct, right?
- 1:42:23I just don't think it's as bad as.
- 1:42:25Right, Yeah, put them on cereal or something.
- 1:42:27No, yeah, for sure. I also like, I do think.
- 1:42:30Do you remember the Dahmer like bio that they did where like
- 1:42:34they fuck they like they make him out to be a lovable
- 1:42:38character because I guess that's how they want you to feel about
- 1:42:42like whatever. But then, but then people, I
- 1:42:45think they did, yeah, because. They that kid from the Disney
- 1:42:48Channel, right? Yeah, yeah.
- 1:42:49The kid from Ross Lynch or. What from the kid from American
- 1:42:52Horror Story? I know American.
- 1:42:53Horror Story. Yeah.
- 1:42:54Ever Peters. Yeah, that was Jeffrey Donner.
- 1:42:56Why did I think it? Was there was a couple different
- 1:42:58films? Bundy, they make you feel like
- 1:43:00he's a relatable small guy because that's what he that's
- 1:43:02how he did. But Dahmer was another one who
- 1:43:04was just a really weird, quirky, strange fucking dude.
- 1:43:08Without spoiling it because it is really it's a good watch, but
- 1:43:12like they, I just really think that they or at least the people
- 1:43:15that watched it. That's the problem.
- 1:43:18The people. That watch people watch serial
- 1:43:20killer stuff. There's 2 movies.
- 1:43:21Yeah, so my friend Dahmer, I guess was a movie and that's the
- 1:43:25one that the my. Friend My Friend Dahmer is was a
- 1:43:29documentary based off someone. Who?
- 1:43:30It's a movie, not a documentary. Yeah, my friend.
- 1:43:32Dahmer is based off. Of it's based off the book of a
- 1:43:35guy who actually was friends with Jeffrey Dahmer.
- 1:43:38Is it the one right? That's the one.
- 1:43:40I think that's the one that I'm probably talking about.
- 1:43:42He was romanticized, right? Really.
- 1:43:44Yeah. Because like the Netflix.
- 1:43:46One was not right. Yeah, this is not.
- 1:43:48I'm not talking about an actual like documentaries, no no.
- 1:43:52Netflix makes is takes. So Netflix has a series of like
- 1:43:56the tapes of when investigators go in there and then they do
- 1:43:59like the tapes, but then they take the tapes and then make it
- 1:44:02like they hire a big name actor and then they play them and then
- 1:44:05fucking make it a. Which is Evan Peters.
- 1:44:07Version. Yeah, no.
- 1:44:09So my friend Dahmer's. Fucking.
- 1:44:11That was the that was the movie that that that came out as like
- 1:44:1520/16/2017. People like romanticized the
- 1:44:19shit out of him after that. Like people were like, oh, I
- 1:44:22would have let him fucking yeah. I would have let him meet me.
- 1:44:25Yeah. Like, shit like that.
- 1:44:26Yes, yeah. Because of this movie, this is
- 1:44:29what I was telling. You because the way that they
- 1:44:31did it was like. So charming and so lovable.
- 1:44:34It doesn't matter to like spoil it because it's so old, but like
- 1:44:38in the beginning it's just like for the rest.
- 1:44:40I haven't watched it. You'll like it.
- 1:44:43You'll like it. I'll just tell you this.
- 1:44:45In the beginning, he just finds roadkill and you're like, oh
- 1:44:48what? You know, whatever.
- 1:44:49He's just fascinated by bones. And then it escalates and then
- 1:44:53it's turns into like the relationships that he's had and
- 1:44:57you think he was. Also gay and.
- 1:44:59Sexual you think well, no, that's what it is.
- 1:45:01They they think that he was gay but they never insinuate.
- 1:45:05Like it's never been like proven it.
- 1:45:08Was I don't know, he's 100% gay. But I think that's why, though,
- 1:45:11I think that they they're like, Oh, well, you know, catered, not
- 1:45:15cater, but like they definitely play on the gay thing and they
- 1:45:18try to make it seem like, oh, but he could have been a better
- 1:45:21person if he just got. Like this is where this is where
- 1:45:24it gets tough when you talk about serial killers, especially
- 1:45:27the the the key ones, the the Mount Rushmore ones.
- 1:45:29If you want to say I don't like what people say my favorite
- 1:45:32serial killer because you're you're romanticizing someone
- 1:45:34with young. People.
- 1:45:35Yeah, but but a lot of them, especially the ones that were
- 1:45:39pushed to the main, main media, there was an anti-gay movement
- 1:45:42happening. And then they were blaming the
- 1:45:44fact that they were gay, that they were serial killers.
- 1:45:46Right, Which I don't necessarily agree.
- 1:45:48But I also think when you sexually repress people and you
- 1:45:51don't let people be who they are and you make it so stigmatized
- 1:45:54and like, if you're gay, you're you're evil.
- 1:45:56I think that's when people who were gay were.
- 1:45:59Trying to like act out. Or.
- 1:46:03Whatever. Yeah, 100%.
- 1:46:04Dahmer was taught that he was this evil monster scumbag
- 1:46:07because he was instead of being accepted and being like, hey,
- 1:46:11you're like, that's where I think the it's from a different
- 1:46:15perspective where I'm like, hey, maybe this guy could have been
- 1:46:17fixed if society was treated people of that different.
- 1:46:20It's like you're going to be dumb or you're going to be
- 1:46:22Freddie Mercury and they thought you don't know what that you
- 1:46:25don't know the coin flip. Yeah, it's just, it's just like
- 1:46:29it's but he. Was still super calculated and
- 1:46:30he hurt people in these horrible, horrible fucking.
- 1:46:32Things right and it's such but it's such an unfair like
- 1:46:35examination, right, because like that because there's such a like
- 1:46:42what's what's the term like faith in like America type feel
- 1:46:49that like anyone who isn't 100% straight or wasn't like Catholic
- 1:46:53or Christian, you know what I mean?
- 1:46:55But those murderers don't get sought after.
- 1:46:58They're like, you know what I mean?
- 1:46:59Or like if there was a school shooting or something.
- 1:47:02Thousands of serial. Killers that we don't even know
- 1:47:03about that don't get politicized because there was an agenda with
- 1:47:06a lot of these. Guys, there wasn't anything
- 1:47:07because they. Were they were gay?
- 1:47:09They were anti church. They're they're evils or they're
- 1:47:11evil people. And we need to fucking showcase.
- 1:47:14It's an anti-gay movement. It's a it's it's like almost
- 1:47:17like the Satanic panic, but it's a gay panic movement where like,
- 1:47:20hey, let's, let's bring, because here's the thing too.
- 1:47:22What they don't talk about is, or sometimes they do is like
- 1:47:25Dahmer and Ted Bundy and a lot of other people had child
- 1:47:28victims and those don't even get talked about at all, right, You
- 1:47:31know what I mean? Like they were just regardless
- 1:47:34of what their sexuality was. They were predators.
- 1:47:37They were predators and that's crazy.
- 1:47:39Like that's just, it's insane. And then like, Speaking of
- 1:47:42Predators, then you go into like the 2000s to catch a Predator,
- 1:47:46the fucking TV show that gets taken off the air because it's
- 1:47:49entrapment. It was to an extent so.
- 1:47:54No, I get it. But it's just kind of like.
- 1:47:56If you're. 1. Yeah, it's. 1.
- 1:47:57Extreme to the. Other, yeah.
- 1:47:58So here's I can tell you how, So here's why a lot of these
- 1:48:01Youtubers are getting these people are getting off because
- 1:48:04listen, just from the world of wrestling, I know people who got
- 1:48:07off. Because the.
- 1:48:07Roblox. The Roblox shit, why did he get?
- 1:48:10He didn't. He didn't got.
- 1:48:11Four years, four years, he's getting off.
- 1:48:15That he got off because let's let's talk.
- 1:48:17We know that was. In the office.
- 1:48:19I didn't see how many years, I just saw that.
- 1:48:22He's even going to serve the whole four years.
- 1:48:24He gets to pick what prison he goes to too.
- 1:48:26Apparently is like a whole. He'll get a cushiony seat, but
- 1:48:29I, I think he'll serve a little bit, but I think I think higher
- 1:48:31people will, will get him out sooner because.
- 1:48:36You don't think he's going to get anyway he's going to get
- 1:48:37Epstein I. Don't want to go political?
- 1:48:40Sorry. I think there's going to be
- 1:48:42people who are in higher cabinets who were probably in
- 1:48:44this in attendance and his buddies that are.
- 1:48:46Yeah, but the what was I saying with the?
- 1:48:52Oh, the predator cats predator. So the.
- 1:48:55Predator. There's, there's a guy, I watch
- 1:48:58a lot of them on YouTube and there's people who are really
- 1:48:59good and there's some people who are good, but they're also
- 1:49:01shitty people and it's the whole thing.
- 1:49:03But if you go into a. YouTube movement now, yeah.
- 1:49:06So if you go into a chat and I say I'm attacking, I'm trying to
- 1:49:10get you to be the predator. If I make a chat and I message
- 1:49:13you first, that is 100% entrapment.
- 1:49:16I'm contacting you first and I'm directing the conversation based
- 1:49:21on because I know you're going to take the bait.
- 1:49:24So I'm pretty much entrapping you by telling you I'm underage
- 1:49:27by messaging you first. By law, that's a trap.
- 1:49:30Even though you're still going along with it and doing
- 1:49:33everything that's illegal. I'm kind of I'm grabbing you and
- 1:49:37steering you in that direction. What happens is these people go
- 1:49:40on these chat. The way that the good people
- 1:49:42catch them is they go into these places with these profiles.
- 1:49:45They're saying that hey, I was I'm 18, or I'm 27 or I'm 19.
- 1:49:49They message them and then say hey I'm actually insert underage
- 1:49:53person HP. Are you OK?
- 1:49:56Are you OK with that? And then this person goes sure
- 1:49:58AM. And then you're fucked, right?
- 1:50:02Right. Then once again, in those
- 1:50:04conversations, you have to let them engage in the sexuality.
- 1:50:08You have to let them engage in inviting you over.
- 1:50:10You have to let engage. Let them engage on the meet up.
- 1:50:13It's crazy how that fucking that was like a whole thing where
- 1:50:16they were like, oh, it's gonna. But then half of the time it was
- 1:50:19just like for the bad fucking things.
- 1:50:21It was literally just people with like bad people.
- 1:50:23Got off with no charges, no registry, no nothing because the
- 1:50:27people who did the investigation get it wrong.
- 1:50:30And never didn't. Do it by the book.
- 1:50:32Contact enforcement or anything like that, Yeah.
- 1:50:35Well, not even in contacting the enforcement because there's,
- 1:50:37there's still times where you don't have to contact the police
- 1:50:39and say here's my evidence depending on some DDAS or like,
- 1:50:43I don't want to deal with this because there's a, it's like
- 1:50:46kind of like being a good podcaster and shitty podcasters.
- 1:50:49There's what? A weird, weird way.
- 1:50:51Shitty podcaster. The shitty people doing it will
- 1:50:54then ruin the image of the people who are trying their
- 1:50:56hardest. Right, so.
- 1:50:57Yeah, you meant from that perspective, I was like, it's
- 1:50:59kind of like being a bad predator.
- 1:51:02These people who are doing these catches are doing these catches
- 1:51:05and doing it by the book, but there's so many negative people
- 1:51:08who are are fucking up the DA and fucking up people's
- 1:51:11investigations and letting bad people go that a law
- 1:51:13enforcement. I don't even want to fuck with
- 1:51:15these fucking. Waste of time.
- 1:51:16It's a waste of our time. But then there's a few good ones
- 1:51:18that then get in there. But then but you have to
- 1:51:21realize, are these people doing it?
- 1:51:23And this goes with all content or anything in general.
- 1:51:26Are these people generally doing it because they want to make a
- 1:51:28change or they want? To just famous yeah yeah, cuz
- 1:51:32like you'll see the ones where they like go in and they beat up
- 1:51:34the dude and I'm like and I'm sitting there I'm like that dude
- 1:51:38that person is so like obviously so in a different mental
- 1:51:43capacity they're you know what I mean they're not 100%.
- 1:51:47I've watched a video where they these there's those now the ones
- 1:51:50he's talking about are these predator catchers who go and
- 1:51:54physically assault them. They.
- 1:51:56Get the shit video. But then you and I'm not, once
- 1:52:00again, I'm not giving a pass, but there are some people that
- 1:52:03they're going after and targeting that are clearly
- 1:52:06learning disability, people who are clearly.
- 1:52:08Probably don't think the same way as like and and they never
- 1:52:12show the sexual like yeah. Not giving a pass.
- 1:52:15I think if you're, if you have an adult living in your
- 1:52:18household who has learning deficiencies, they should be
- 1:52:23treated just as a child and you should protect and monitor what
- 1:52:25they're doing on the Internet. Yeah.
- 1:52:27I don't think I think to a certain age the Internet should
- 1:52:31be treated like any other substance, any other adult
- 1:52:34thing. Like if you give your child a
- 1:52:36phone and you give a person who's not mentally insufficient
- 1:52:39a phone, they can get caught up in really crazy shit really
- 1:52:42quickly and put themselves in a lot of trouble.
- 1:52:44Children and people who are older but maybe have the
- 1:52:47mentality of children. We have conversation with her
- 1:52:49kids all the time. Hey, just because you have
- 1:52:51phones now and you're, you're on the Internet, you're on these
- 1:52:53apps, you need to be fucking careful.
- 1:52:56You can, you can get caught up in some crazy shit really
- 1:52:58quickly. Like you need to educate people
- 1:53:00about the Internet. It's, it's, it's not just a tool
- 1:53:04to like, hey, get the fuck out of my face.
- 1:53:05Here's your tablet. No, you're kicked with a tablet
- 1:53:08and the world can get opened up and they can get caught up in
- 1:53:10some really bad things if they're not like.
- 1:53:12Without even intentionally doing so, a. 100.
- 1:53:14Percent, not just viruses. You have the younger brother.
- 1:53:16You know what I mean? Like it's scary too because it's
- 1:53:19like, I know with him he's literally just watching fucking
- 1:53:22TikTok and stuff like that. But some of the tik toks have
- 1:53:24some little shit. You're like, hey, what did I
- 1:53:27watch? Let's talk about it.
- 1:53:28You know why you watch that? And you like, you know, like
- 1:53:30what? Do you understand the meaning of
- 1:53:32it? Yeah, yeah.
- 1:53:33You. Have a conversation.
- 1:53:34And so it's like it's really hard to be the older brother
- 1:53:36because obviously my parents didn't see that within me.
- 1:53:39It wasn't the same, you know, I had a console or video game
- 1:53:42console or whatever when I was a kid, you know, but we grew up
- 1:53:46within it. Yeah.
- 1:53:47So it's. Like we learned, we grew with it
- 1:53:49and it's. Weird because my mom just didn't
- 1:53:51really have any interest in like computer.
- 1:53:54Stuff right now when they got making these videos as good as
- 1:53:56they are. Yeah, it's scary.
- 1:53:59It's really scary. I know it's a funny 1 and I I I
- 1:54:01chop a lot of but did you see the one where the guy takes a
- 1:54:03T-shirt cannon and shoots the old lady?
- 1:54:05Directly, yeah, I couldn't tell. I couldn't tell if that was
- 1:54:08fake. Really.
- 1:54:09Like I mean it was. Super scary.
- 1:54:10Yeah, it that's super real looking.
- 1:54:12The only thing that set it off for me was after the third watch
- 1:54:16I saw the fucking thing go through like his arm or
- 1:54:18something, you know what I mean? Is like.
- 1:54:20Him just laughing and not having a care in the world and then the
- 1:54:24other people around are freaking out and he just stands there,
- 1:54:26smile and I was like, oh, that's AI.
- 1:54:28Unless he's a fucking psycho, you know what I mean?
- 1:54:30But it's scary, dude. And and that's what I was
- 1:54:33saying. I was on the car ride home.
- 1:54:35There was a thing on the radio where this girl's like, yeah, I
- 1:54:39could just, it's like TikTok, but it's all AI.
- 1:54:42And I can just say this prompt and then me and my friends are
- 1:54:45like dancing with skeletons and shit like that.
- 1:54:47And I'm like sitting there, I'm like, what?
- 1:54:50Who is this fucking for? You know, Because like the AI
- 1:54:53thing is like, it's definitely like a political movement, but
- 1:54:56neither side is interested in it.
- 1:54:58You know what I mean? There there is some that are
- 1:55:01like oh I want to wait 2. Reelections come around again?
- 1:55:04Yeah. Where do you see how hard AI is
- 1:55:06going to be pushed to help reelect stuff in the future?
- 1:55:10I yeah, I fear that shit. That's why they're doing it.
- 1:55:13Why do you think we are? Not to get political, but they
- 1:55:17just put into law that they want to essentially let AI go
- 1:55:21unrestricted for the for the next 10 years and no one can do
- 1:55:24nothing about it. Who do you think right now is
- 1:55:26using? Who's what?
- 1:55:28What person? What?
- 1:55:29Person president is retweeting on his platform AI videos 4
- 1:55:35times a day on a daily basis that's.
- 1:55:38Insane. He loves it dude, because AI and
- 1:55:42algorithms are catering to his fucking ego and his brain and
- 1:55:45making him feel amazing and he's getting sucked into a fucking
- 1:55:49vortex. It's crazy.
- 1:55:50Yeah, it's crazy right now. He put a video up the other day
- 1:55:53that was so AI and so bad that he's in the video saying things
- 1:55:58that he wants done in the country that he didn't even
- 1:56:01physically say, and he liked the AI version of himself saying it,
- 1:56:06that he posted it to the world as the fucking president of the
- 1:56:09United States. Wild.
- 1:56:11We're only cracking the surface. Yeah, that's that's the next.
- 1:56:15That's the next movie. That's the next movie.
- 1:56:18Right now, AI, it's common. AIA period.
- 1:56:21I Period. Yeah, a Meg 2 point or
- 1:56:24three-point. No, they already had.
- 1:56:25They already had. Well they had AI but they it was
- 1:56:28fucking the Will Smith movie. What's the one Terminator?
- 1:56:32Hold on pause, what's the movie with Hailey Joel Osment where
- 1:56:35he's a robot? Wasn't that called AR?
- 1:56:39Oh shit. Maybe.
- 1:56:40Yeah, Listen, I don't want, I want to.
- 1:56:42Sorry. I'm looking the time frames
- 1:56:48guys. Thank you so much.
- 1:56:48I hope you enjoyed the bonus content.
- 1:56:50If you like this or any movies you want to see, I'm going to
- 1:56:53end this right before our casket.
- 1:56:54Literally get into a fistfight. See you guys next time.
