- 0:03Speaker 1: Blue Jays catcher Tyler Heineman is here joining us right
- 0:06Speaker 1: now on FT Tyler, thank you so much for the
- 0:09Speaker 1: time and happy by a few days for you.
- 0:12Speaker 2: How is it? What's life like right now?
- 0:14Speaker 1: While teams have to fight for their lives and you
- 0:17Speaker 1: guys are getting ready for the next round.
- 0:20Speaker 3: Thanks for having me. But I think it's just great, honestly.
- 0:24Speaker 4: You know, as the season kind of gets going and
- 0:28Speaker 4: finishes up, you got a lot of guys that are
- 0:30Speaker 4: playing through some injuries or grinding through a few things.
- 0:34Speaker 4: And also, you know, you can set the rotation kind
- 0:36Speaker 4: of exactly how you want it to be. So I
- 0:39Speaker 4: think it's a big, big few days off and it'll
- 0:42Speaker 4: be really nice for us to kind of come in fresh, Tyler.
- 0:46Speaker 5: Aren't you bored though? Aren't you bored?
- 0:48Speaker 6: You're just sitting around doing nothing while these other teams
- 0:50Speaker 6: are just dying and every pitch on every.
- 0:53Speaker 5: Pitch, Aren't you bored?
- 0:54Speaker 6: Just sitting there going, Man, I'm in the cage right now,
- 0:56Speaker 6: hanging out while they're trying to hit Trek schoobl and
- 0:59Speaker 6: they're trying to hit it Blake Snell and they're trying
- 1:01Speaker 6: to hit Max Free.
- 1:03Speaker 4: No, we can we can kind of game plan for
- 1:07Speaker 4: what we need to do, uh for facing the the
- 1:11Speaker 4: Yankees or.
- 1:11Speaker 3: The or the UH or Boston.
- 1:15Speaker 4: So I think I think given a few days, especially
- 1:18Speaker 4: because we clinched on the last day it h you know,
- 1:22Speaker 4: we went out and partied a little bit and had
- 1:24Speaker 4: a little bit of fun on Sunday nights. So I
- 1:27Speaker 4: think it's, uh, we're just recovering right now.
- 1:30Speaker 7: What does that party and look like? We asked, uh,
- 1:32Speaker 7: we asked Joe Carter the partying in Toronto. It wasn't
- 1:36Speaker 7: as good as when they won the World Series on
- 1:38Speaker 7: the road. So did you guys go out, did you
- 1:41Speaker 7: guys stay in the clubhouse? Did you go into the
- 1:44Speaker 7: cage and hit some beer homers?
- 1:48Speaker 3: No?
- 1:48Speaker 4: We uh yeah, So we obviously had our champagne shower
- 1:51Speaker 4: and and did all that and then took the team
- 1:53Speaker 4: photo on the field. And you know, it's been a
- 1:57Speaker 4: while since the Blue Jays won the division in I
- 2:02Speaker 4: think it was twenty fifteen.
- 2:03Speaker 3: So hey, there's me right doing that. Yeah, unbelievable, but
- 2:08Speaker 3: uh yeah. So we had a couple of guys that
- 2:11Speaker 3: that rented out a.
- 2:12Speaker 4: Club uh for us, and we just kind of partied together.
- 2:16Speaker 4: It was pretty much closed and and all of us
- 2:19Speaker 4: just h we're together and and celebrated together.
- 2:23Speaker 3: So it was awesome.
- 2:25Speaker 5: Can we show that? Can we show that again?
- 2:27Speaker 4: What?
- 2:28Speaker 6: I haven't been to Toronto in a couple of years,
- 2:30Speaker 6: but can we What is the smart serve Toronto?
- 2:33Speaker 4: What?
- 2:33Speaker 5: What are those rules?
- 2:34Speaker 6: Do you even know what rules you were breaking?
- 2:38Speaker 3: Smart Serve? I do not know that, but I did
- 2:41Speaker 3: know that.
- 2:44Speaker 4: I got told afterwards that, hey, you know, you should
- 2:47Speaker 4: probably not do that just because you don't know their ages.
- 2:52Speaker 4: And I was like, well, I was only I was
- 2:54Speaker 4: only pouring champagne into the mouths of people with beards
- 2:57Speaker 4: or women that I knew were over thirty years old.
- 3:01Speaker 4: So but I understood, and I apologize, you know, say
- 3:07Speaker 4: sorry afterwards.
- 3:08Speaker 7: You'll be all right in that moment, In that moment,
- 3:12Speaker 7: what is that like for you? Just your reaction to
- 3:17Speaker 7: not just winning making the playoffs, but also win in
- 3:19Speaker 7: the American League East when we saw what George Springer
- 3:22Speaker 7: said or mouthed after they made that bad call, might
- 3:26Speaker 7: as well give the division to the Yankees Like that,
- 3:29Speaker 7: to me, that was telling that you guys were worried
- 3:32Speaker 7: about the team in front of you. And then when
- 3:34Speaker 7: you go ahead and do it and you say, screw it,
- 3:36Speaker 7: we're gonna beat this team and we're gonna take the East.
- 3:39Speaker 7: What did that feel like for you, as you know,
- 3:42Speaker 7: in the role that you're in and the career that
- 3:44Speaker 7: you've had.
- 3:45Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, well it's awesome for me. This is
- 3:47Speaker 4: I've obviously never been in a race like this in
- 3:51Speaker 4: my entire career. I was on the playoff roster in
- 3:53Speaker 4: twenty three. I would have lost in two games to Minnesota.
- 3:58Speaker 4: But being up the entire year and having a full
- 4:01Speaker 4: year with this team and being able to you know,
- 4:08Speaker 4: be with this team and kind of go through all
- 4:11Speaker 4: the ups and downs. Yeah, the ending was was kind
- 4:15Speaker 4: of really close, and you know, we had a lot
- 4:18Speaker 4: of things that we just probably blamed on issues that
- 4:23Speaker 4: were not.
- 4:25Speaker 3: You know, necessarily needed to be blamed on.
- 4:28Speaker 4: It was just we're not clicking on all cylinders, and
- 4:32Speaker 4: you know, for us to come back on top and
- 4:35Speaker 4: do a really good job on the last day and
- 4:37Speaker 4: score a bunch of runs was was really awesome. Going
- 4:39Speaker 4: into going into a big division series on Saturday.
- 4:44Speaker 6: Tyler, how do you prepare for the Division series? You
- 4:46Speaker 6: don't know who you're gonna face, but do you start
- 4:48Speaker 6: doing scouting reports on both teams? I know they're in
- 4:51Speaker 6: your division and you played them a bunch of times
- 4:52Speaker 6: during the year, But do you guys start looking and say,
- 4:55Speaker 6: all right, maybe we're lean this way or do you
- 4:58Speaker 6: wait to see who games who wins game one or
- 5:00Speaker 6: how does that work? Because you know, with this quick
- 5:03Speaker 6: format and this quick turnaround, Yes, I know you have
- 5:05Speaker 6: to get yourself prepared, but how do you start, especially
- 5:07Speaker 6: as a catcher, with the scout and report stuff.
- 5:10Speaker 4: Yes, so, I honestly have no idea because it is
- 5:12Speaker 4: the first time that I'm ever gonna deal with this.
- 5:15Speaker 3: So I personally, I.
- 5:18Speaker 4: As a catcher, I'm gonna and as you would know,
- 5:20Speaker 4: you and Cratzy, you know, I think I'm just gonna
- 5:23Speaker 4: watch the games and kind of game plan a little
- 5:26Speaker 4: bit while I'm watching the games and take mental notes
- 5:29Speaker 4: along with doing some deeper digging, you know, in the
- 5:33Speaker 4: video room. But this is kind of the first time
- 5:37Speaker 4: I'm dealing with this, and I think it's the first
- 5:39Speaker 4: time that the Blue Jays kind of had to deal
- 5:41Speaker 4: with this in a long time. So just having all
- 5:44Speaker 4: this time off, I don't know what we're gonna do,
- 5:47Speaker 4: But I know that there's gonna be a lot of
- 5:48Speaker 4: stuff that we need to do in order to be
- 5:49Speaker 4: ready for Saturday.
- 5:51Speaker 7: Maybe go fishing, Maybe take yourself away from baseball. You
- 5:55Speaker 7: don't got to watch four games all day, watch this,
- 5:57Speaker 7: watch that game at night. But before before you watch
- 6:00Speaker 7: that game at night, you've played against these teams. Can
- 6:03Speaker 7: you break down these two teams for us? We're going
- 6:05Speaker 7: into the playoffs, We're we're not wor we're off the field,
- 6:08Speaker 7: we're just watching. You've played against them. Can you break
- 6:11Speaker 7: down this matchup, this AL East matchup that they got
- 6:14Speaker 7: going on here?
- 6:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean so it's great.
- 6:18Speaker 4: Honestly, they're both unbelievable teams, and I think that they're
- 6:21Speaker 4: doing a fantastic job.
- 6:24Speaker 3: It's gonna be a really fun series to watch.
- 6:26Speaker 4: You got Crochet and Free Tonight, both nasty, both had
- 6:30Speaker 4: fantastic years. And you know, you got a Yankees lineup
- 6:34Speaker 4: that's been hot. They've won I think eighth straight, maybe nine,
- 6:37Speaker 4: I don't know. Judge has been really hot. You got
- 6:40Speaker 4: a Bellinger had a fantastic year, Grisham had a fantastic year.
- 6:44Speaker 3: So I'm missing a bunch of guys. Uh, And then
- 6:48Speaker 3: obviously on.
- 6:48Speaker 4: The Red Sox side, you have rominggan Zalez did a
- 6:51Speaker 4: lot of really good stuff when they traded Devers away,
- 6:55Speaker 4: and Story had an unbelievable year coming back from being
- 7:00Speaker 4: hurt last year, and you know, the pitching staff did well.
- 7:04Speaker 4: Narbaia's had a great year. So it's it's gonna be
- 7:07Speaker 4: a really good matchup and you know, one that we're
- 7:09Speaker 4: gonna follow closely. And it's kind of crazy how the
- 7:13Speaker 4: division ended up being these two guys fighting for a
- 7:17Speaker 4: wild card. Uh, and then the winner is going to
- 7:20Speaker 4: play us as well, So three Alas teams on one
- 7:23Speaker 4: side of the bracket. So it's gonna be pretty crazy,
- 7:25Speaker 4: but you know, definitely an exciting series.
- 7:29Speaker 6: It's Als first the world, right, that's in that one
- 7:32Speaker 6: side of the bracket. It's the al East side and
- 7:34Speaker 6: then the rest of the world is on the other side.
- 7:36Speaker 5: So that's okay. You guys are used to being in
- 7:38Speaker 5: the Al East. By the way, you guys you mentioned
- 7:40Speaker 5: these guys scored.
- 7:41Speaker 6: How many you guys scored like twenty runs on Sunday
- 7:43Speaker 6: to win the whole thing? Does that jacket stay thirteen?
- 7:46Speaker 6: How does that jacket fit everybody? That's the other thing
- 7:49Speaker 6: because you have guys that are all different sizes and
- 7:51Speaker 6: it looks like it fits everyone perfect. So does it
- 7:54Speaker 6: smell from everyone coming in all sweaty?
- 7:56Speaker 4: You?
- 7:56Speaker 5: Like, do you have to go get a dry clean?
- 7:58Speaker 5: I mean, how does that think?
- 8:00Speaker 3: Uh?
- 8:00Speaker 4: I think Tito is the one that's in charge of that,
- 8:03Speaker 4: but uh, I honestly don't know how it gets dry cleaned.
- 8:07Speaker 4: I know that it fits the biggest guy, so vlad
- 8:11Speaker 4: and and Springer are pretty big guys. It fits them,
- 8:14Speaker 4: and so everybody else it kind of it will just
- 8:17Speaker 4: fit by default.
- 8:18Speaker 3: But it's a it's a cool thing. And yeah, we scored.
- 8:22Speaker 4: I think Kirkie had two homers and Springer had a
- 8:24Speaker 4: homer as well, and Barger, so I got good. I
- 8:27Speaker 4: got good use on on Sunday Sunday?
- 8:32Speaker 5: Do you and Kirky talk all the time?
- 8:35Speaker 6: Because I know, like when you have two catchers, you're
- 8:37Speaker 6: always talking, You're always in communication. And does Snider's do
- 8:40Speaker 6: a good job of saying like who's gonna play when?
- 8:42Speaker 6: And ahead of time? Because that was always like my
- 8:45Speaker 6: one of my biggest things is I always wanted to
- 8:47Speaker 6: know when I was gonna play. So does does Snyder
- 8:49Speaker 6: come to you or does he send a text message,
- 8:51Speaker 6: because like Joey Corer used to give me the week,
- 8:53Speaker 6: you'd be like, these are the possible pitchers, these are
- 8:55Speaker 6: the days you're gonna play. These are the days whoever you,
- 8:58Speaker 6: whoever my other guy was was gonna play. Is Schneider
- 9:01Speaker 6: good about that? And in the playoffs? Are you just
- 9:03Speaker 6: kind of like Kirky, you got this as long as
- 9:06Speaker 6: it goes. I'm just gonna take a seat here and
- 9:08Speaker 6: enjoy my little mini vacation, but you.
- 9:11Speaker 5: Gotta be ready.
- 9:13Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:14Speaker 3: So Schneid's does a really good job. This staff does
- 9:16Speaker 3: a really good job.
- 9:17Speaker 4: You know, my role as the backup, I got to
- 9:20Speaker 4: be ready to go whenever they need me. And they
- 9:24Speaker 4: kind of map out each series how they think everything
- 9:27Speaker 4: should go and is going to go with our pitching matchups.
- 9:30Speaker 4: They're pitching matchups, how much Kirky's worked that week and
- 9:34Speaker 4: how much he's.
- 9:35Speaker 3: Worked the previous week.
- 9:36Speaker 4: So they do a really good job with that, and
- 9:40Speaker 4: it really helps me kind of tailor what I need
- 9:44Speaker 4: to do to be ready right when when I kind
- 9:46Speaker 4: of fit my workouts in, when I fit going off
- 9:49Speaker 4: project or doing any of that stuff, getting some live
- 9:51Speaker 4: at bats and as far as playoffs go, Yeah, it's
- 9:55Speaker 4: is Kirky show. I mean, he's he's earned it, he's
- 9:58Speaker 4: he's a stud. I hope he wins the gold. Love
- 10:00Speaker 4: and for me, yeah, I mean he's our guy, and
- 10:04Speaker 4: I'm just gonna be there if they need a pinch
- 10:06Speaker 4: runner late or if they want anything from me. That's
- 10:09Speaker 4: my role and and that's what I gotta be ready for,
- 10:13Speaker 4: just like always during the rest of the full year.
- 10:17Speaker 7: From somebody that sat all postseason and had to watch
- 10:20Speaker 7: the starter catch, the worst part is watching the game
- 10:24Speaker 7: and then when they tell you, hey, we might pinch
- 10:25Speaker 7: run for Kirk here, That's when all of a sudden
- 10:29Speaker 7: all your nerves go away. That's when all of a
- 10:31Speaker 7: sudden you're like, I know exactly what I need to do,
- 10:34Speaker 7: so you'll be.
- 10:35Speaker 5: Fine unless you have to catch Trey E. Savage.
- 10:42Speaker 7: We've only seen a couple starts from him, but when
- 10:44Speaker 7: I watch him pitch, I'm sitting there going, how is
- 10:48Speaker 7: this guy not going to be their third starter?
- 10:49Speaker 5: How's this guy not going to be their closer?
- 10:51Speaker 7: Wherever it is in your rotation, bullpen, however he's used,
- 10:56Speaker 7: Can you tell us what this dude's bringing? Because from
- 10:59Speaker 7: my band point, there's very few dudes a throw like
- 11:02Speaker 7: this from that angle, and that action on the splitter
- 11:05Speaker 7: heater combination looks ridiculous.
- 11:09Speaker 3: Yeah, so it's it's super unique. It's it's coming from
- 11:13Speaker 3: a seven to two release, so it's super high up there.
- 11:16Speaker 3: Kind of nobody has that at that high of a release.
- 11:19Speaker 4: I think closest one is Verlander and the splitter just
- 11:25Speaker 4: has it just goes straight down.
- 11:27Speaker 3: So you don't really know.
- 11:28Speaker 4: I haven't been in the box, so thank goodness, because
- 11:31Speaker 4: I think I would kind of not know what to
- 11:35Speaker 4: game plan for. But it almost looks like the splitter
- 11:38Speaker 4: has to start or the ball has to start kind
- 11:41Speaker 4: of at your eyes in order for it to be
- 11:42Speaker 4: in the strike zone, and then a splitter starts with
- 11:45Speaker 4: your eyes and ends up in the dirt. It's it's
- 11:47Speaker 4: it's a lot to deal with and and a lot
- 11:49Speaker 4: of problems for the for the hitter, and then you
- 11:51Speaker 4: got a slider that kind of just goes straight down
- 11:54Speaker 4: as well, kind of bowling ball straight down. It's uh,
- 11:57Speaker 4: he's really good and I'm excited to see what what
- 11:59Speaker 4: he has store.
- 12:02Speaker 1: Tyler Blue Jays fans love him right and the other
- 12:05Speaker 1: name that pops up all the time on our comments
- 12:08Speaker 1: for our videos about the Blue Jays Dave Popkins hitting coach.
- 12:12Speaker 1: What have you seen that he does that's working so
- 12:15Speaker 1: well for Toronto this year to be towards the top
- 12:19Speaker 1: in terms of front score and contact and some great
- 12:22Speaker 1: stats heading into the postseason. I mean, this is the
- 12:24Speaker 1: guy that was somehow let go by the Minnesota Twins,
- 12:27Speaker 1: and it seems like forget some of the stars, like
- 12:31Speaker 1: a lot of the guys that we mentioned, you know,
- 12:33Speaker 1: Lucas and Barger and Clement, etc.
- 12:36Speaker 2: You know, I've had nice years.
- 12:38Speaker 1: Have you seen the hitting coach and the philosophy that
- 12:41Speaker 1: he's bringing to the table make a difference.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 12:44Speaker 4: Absolutely, I mean him, Lou and Hunter Men's do a
- 12:47Speaker 4: fantastic job. And I think that they just they tailor
- 12:50Speaker 4: the approach to the specific player and not at kind
- 12:54Speaker 4: of an all at one, all encompassing approach or you know,
- 13:00Speaker 4: cookie cutter approach that you would see a lot of
- 13:04Speaker 4: people do. And you know, I for myself, I can
- 13:07Speaker 4: only really kind of really speak for myself.
- 13:09Speaker 3: They've done a fantastic job just letting me be who
- 13:12Speaker 3: I am and not trying to have may be more
- 13:14Speaker 3: than what I am.
- 13:16Speaker 4: I'm a contact oriented guy that doesn't really strike out
- 13:18Speaker 4: and puts together tough at that so I'm not really
- 13:21Speaker 4: going to hit the ball out of the yard too often.
- 13:23Speaker 4: And you know, kind of embracing who you are. And
- 13:26Speaker 4: if every single guy, all thirteen guys, kind of embrace
- 13:29Speaker 4: who they are, you know, you make the offense fire
- 13:34Speaker 4: on all cylinders. And then you got the stars like
- 13:36Speaker 4: George who had an unbelievable year, and Vladdie and Bow, you.
- 13:41Speaker 3: Know, driving those runs.
- 13:42Speaker 4: And at the end of the season, you're looking up
- 13:45Speaker 4: and we're scoring four or five runs a.
- 13:46Speaker 3: Game and in a great spot.
- 13:49Speaker 4: So what Papkins has done, what Lou has done, and
- 13:53Speaker 4: what Hunter have done just for us has been invaluable.
- 13:57Speaker 4: And you know, I honestly don't know how he got
- 14:00Speaker 4: let go, and maybe it was just kind of a
- 14:02Speaker 4: scapegoat kind of thing.
- 14:03Speaker 3: But you know, we're we're very lucky to have him.
- 14:07Speaker 6: Right on the subject of coaches, I have to ask
- 14:08Speaker 6: this because I do know a lot of your coaches.
- 14:10Speaker 6: So I know Pete Walker's a pitching coach. Nights as
- 14:12Speaker 6: the manager, the Cookie Monster with the terrible gray beer,
- 14:15Speaker 6: Carlos Feblas is your third base coach. I've known since
- 14:19Speaker 6: Gulf Coast League. Don Mattingly's your bench coach. He's a legend.
- 14:23Speaker 5: But the one guy I want to know does he
- 14:24Speaker 5: do anything to Marlow Hale? Does he do anything?
- 14:27Speaker 6: Because I've known Tomorlow for like thirty five years and
- 14:31Speaker 6: I've never seen him. He stands really nice on a
- 14:34Speaker 6: fun go and every time they show him in the dugout,
- 14:36Speaker 6: he's just like like this, just does he actually do anything?
- 14:42Speaker 6: And you can tell him I asked this question too.
- 14:43Speaker 5: When you see him, he too will.
- 14:45Speaker 4: I will for sure. Tomorrow is a butte. He's one
- 14:48Speaker 4: of the best of all time.
- 14:49Speaker 3: He well one.
- 14:50Speaker 4: He does all the running game stuff, so he gives
- 14:53Speaker 4: Kirkie and I that signs on whether we're picking slidestep in,
- 14:56Speaker 4: pitching out, doing all that.
- 15:00Speaker 3: And he's just the associate manager.
- 15:01Speaker 2: You know.
- 15:02Speaker 4: If Schneid's gets tossed, he's he comes in and he
- 15:05Speaker 4: does it. He actually took the ball from me in
- 15:06Speaker 4: a one of the worst innings of all time I've
- 15:09Speaker 4: ever I've ever seen, and I ended up being the
- 15:12Speaker 4: one pitching thirteen thirteen hits and renainting in a third.
- 15:15Speaker 4: So wow, but I've never I never he came out
- 15:18Speaker 4: took the ball for me, So that was that was
- 15:20Speaker 4: kind of crappy.
- 15:21Speaker 3: But yeah, no, he does a lot.
- 15:23Speaker 4: He kind of he bridges the gap between the coaches
- 15:26Speaker 4: and the players, and you know, he's invaluable parts are
- 15:30Speaker 4: to our success and and you know, I have nothing
- 15:33Speaker 4: but respect for him.
- 15:34Speaker 3: And he's one of the best kind of coaches I've
- 15:36Speaker 3: ever had.
- 15:37Speaker 7: All right, last one. I had two, but I'm only
- 15:39Speaker 7: gonna use one. Are you so glad you're much closer
- 15:43Speaker 7: to Scott's big league home run? Scott, your brother, for
- 15:46Speaker 7: anybody who doesn't know, has five big league homers and
- 15:49Speaker 7: you have how many?
- 15:52Speaker 3: Four?
- 15:53Speaker 7: Yeah? Are you so glad that you've got gotten closer
- 15:56Speaker 7: now and you have a shot at him next year?
- 16:00Speaker 4: Uh? Yeah, I mean that's that's awesome, you know. I
- 16:02Speaker 4: the fact that my brother and I both played in
- 16:04Speaker 4: the big leagues is a feating of itself. And and
- 16:08Speaker 4: and I got to play against him during the COVID
- 16:10Speaker 4: shortened season and it was awesome. I have a great
- 16:13Speaker 4: relationship with him, and he's giving me crap and and talked.
- 16:17Speaker 3: A lot about oh wow, you're only one homer behind me.
- 16:20Speaker 3: You know, we'll see. It took me. It took me
- 16:23Speaker 3: like four years in order to get a homer.
- 16:26Speaker 4: I think from twenty nineteen to twenty twenty four now
- 16:29Speaker 4: twenty five in between homers and something like three hundred
- 16:33Speaker 4: at bats. So you never know. It could be I
- 16:35Speaker 4: could be, it could be a long wait. But uh,
- 16:38Speaker 4: we'll try my best, that's for sure.
- 16:43Speaker 5: I love it.
- 16:45Speaker 2: Hey, Tyler, thank you so much for the time.
- 16:47Speaker 6: Dude.
- 16:47Speaker 2: We appreciate it. You laugh.
- 16:49Speaker 6: I'm loving at you. Why met Tyler's had reminds me
- 16:54Speaker 6: of your.
- 16:54Speaker 3: Here what's the other?
- 16:55Speaker 4: What's the other question you wanted to ask me about
- 16:57Speaker 4: Tommy Fam and that whole situation is that was?
- 17:00Speaker 5: Oh wow, No, that's not what I was and I
- 17:06Speaker 5: don't even know that.
- 17:08Speaker 3: I want that's all now, Tyler. I'll let you. I'll
- 17:14Speaker 3: let you have one more. I'll let you have one more.
- 17:16Speaker 3: One more question asked the question you want to ask.
- 17:19Speaker 5: Okay, did you have did you have him? Did you
- 17:22Speaker 5: have Tommy Fam in that fight?
- 17:24Speaker 3: Is that what?
- 17:24Speaker 5: I wasn't even gonna ask that, but you brought it.
- 17:26Speaker 3: Up absolutely one and twenty percent.
- 17:30Speaker 4: No, I would not I would not have taken Tommy fam.
- 17:34Speaker 4: I know not to mess with Tommy Fam. Are you
- 17:36Speaker 4: kidding me? I was.
- 17:40Speaker 3: Caught. I go ahead and watch it.
- 17:43Speaker 5: I get it back ahead.
- 17:44Speaker 2: You don't remember it was like two months ago.
- 17:48Speaker 3: Walking.
- 17:49Speaker 4: Oh yeah, you as a catcher and and and Crasty
- 17:54Speaker 4: as a catcher. You guys know that sometimes you an umpire,
- 17:59Speaker 4: Hey where is that pitch? Because you're set up on
- 18:01Speaker 4: the other side of the plate. You want to know
- 18:03Speaker 4: if they have a good, good look at it. And
- 18:05Speaker 4: I simply asked, you know, this happens two, three, four
- 18:08Speaker 4: times a game. Maybe, I mean, depending on who the
- 18:10Speaker 4: umpire is, could happen five six.
- 18:13Speaker 3: Times a game.
- 18:13Speaker 4: And you just straight up ask I asked him, hey,
- 18:17Speaker 4: you know, did you have that down as you have
- 18:20Speaker 4: that off? And you know he mark Rippinger great umpire
- 18:24Speaker 4: simply was like I had that a lot.
- 18:25Speaker 3: Okay, sounds good, no problem.
- 18:27Speaker 4: And then you know he walks on a pitch that
- 18:30Speaker 4: wasn't even close and he says some says some words
- 18:33Speaker 4: to me, and I was very confused, and then he
- 18:36Speaker 4: was coming at me and I almost had to get
- 18:39Speaker 4: new sliders. So you know, I know we're on TV
- 18:45Speaker 4: right now, so yeah, you know, I almost had to
- 18:47Speaker 4: get new sliders.
- 18:48Speaker 3: I want nothing to do with that man in a fight.
- 18:53Speaker 4: Have been like, yeah, no, you took it off. You see,
- 18:58Speaker 4: I wasn't. I literally said on you can see him,
- 19:01Speaker 4: you can mouth my words. I think John Boy did
- 19:02Speaker 4: a nice thing. It says I wasn't talking to you.
- 19:05Speaker 4: I wasn't talking to you, which is true, but it.
- 19:07Speaker 3: Was more of like not me being mad at him.
- 19:09Speaker 3: I was just like, I wasn't talking to you. Please
- 19:11Speaker 3: don't hurt me.
- 19:14Speaker 5: Wait, sorry, I forgot. I completely forgot. So I whiffed
- 19:16Speaker 5: on that one. But that is awesome that you brought
- 19:18Speaker 5: it up.
- 19:18Speaker 1: It was an off season topic, but we got it
- 19:20Speaker 1: done now and now we're gonna have to come up
- 19:22Speaker 1: with something else in the off season.
- 19:23Speaker 2: Wait.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Sorry, one more at the buzzer here, speaking of mouthing things,
- 19:28Speaker 1: George Springer Yankees, I thought it was super fun, Like
- 19:32Speaker 1: I'm sure you saw that or maybe heard it.
- 19:34Speaker 2: Live or it's just rigged for the Yanks.
- 19:36Speaker 1: So I hope that comes back up again when maybe
- 19:39Speaker 1: you guys meet up next round.
- 19:41Speaker 3: Yeah no, absolutely, I mean he's just a competitor. I
- 19:44Speaker 3: honestly don't he meant nothing by that, for.
- 19:47Speaker 4: Sure, he's just he's an ultra competitor when he plays,
- 19:50Speaker 4: and he's an awesome.
- 19:51Speaker 3: Teammate to have.
- 19:52Speaker 4: So the fact that he you know, he was just
- 19:54Speaker 4: pissed about that situation, and I think that you know
- 19:58Speaker 4: the situation and how he got called on strikes after warranted,
- 20:01Speaker 4: you know, him being angry, and you know he's just
- 20:04Speaker 4: trying to calm himself down, and you know that he's
- 20:07Speaker 4: our MVP, he's he should finish in the top five
- 20:10Speaker 4: and MVP voting this year, and you know, it just
- 20:14Speaker 4: shows how much fire he has on game.
- 20:16Speaker 3: What was that maybe one fifty eight and he's thirty
- 20:20Speaker 3: five years old. Maybe actually I think he just turned
- 20:22Speaker 3: thirty six. So it just shows you what an ultracompetitor
- 20:25Speaker 3: is and how how unbelievably much he cares about winning
- 20:31Speaker 3: and helping this team make the playoffs. So we got nothing,
- 20:35Speaker 3: but we just got nothing but love for him, and
- 20:37Speaker 3: we got his back always.
- 20:39Speaker 2: I love it.
- 20:40Speaker 1: He probably doesn't realize this, but that kind of stuff
- 20:42Speaker 1: is good for the game. It is harmless, So I'm
- 20:44Speaker 1: all for it.
- 20:45Speaker 2: Right, We need more of that sort.
- 20:48Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly, Tyler, good stuff, dude, Thank you so much
- 20:51Speaker 1: for joining us.
- 20:52Speaker 2: This was fun. Appreciate it. Good luck, we'll be watching Man.
- 20:54Speaker 2: We're excited.
- 20:56Speaker 3: Yeah, you got it. Appreciate you having me
