- 0:00Speaker 1: It's your early morning praise party. I am Sherri Mackey
- 0:03Speaker 1: and it's time right now for today's word. Where you
- 0:08Speaker 1: are is not your final destination. First Samuel 1619 says,
- 0:13Speaker 1: therefore Saul sent messengers to Jesse and said, send me
- 0:17Speaker 1: your son David who is with the sheep. Have you
- 0:21Speaker 1: ever found yourself at a place that doesn't seem to
- 0:24Speaker 1: match what you believe God has spoken over your life?
- 0:26Speaker 1: Maybe you know you have gifts. You know you got
- 0:29Speaker 1: abilities and a purpose, but your current circumstances don't reflect
- 0:33Speaker 1: any of that. You may feel overlooked. You may feel
- 0:36Speaker 1: underappreciated or stuck in a season that seems far too
- 0:40Speaker 1: small for the dreams that God's placed in your heart.
- 0:43Speaker 1: If that sounds familiar, I want to remind you today
- 0:46Speaker 1: where you are today. is not your final destination before
- 0:51Speaker 1: king Saul ever sent for David the prophet Samuel had
- 0:54Speaker 1: already anointed him to become the next king of Israel
- 0:57Speaker 1: David had heard the declaration he had felt the oil
- 1:01Speaker 1: running down his head the spirit of the Lord had
- 1:04Speaker 1: come upon him mightily but after that powerful moment David
- 1:08Speaker 1: didn't go straight to the palace no he went right
- 1:10Speaker 1: on back to the shepherd's field Imagine being anointed for
- 1:14Speaker 1: a throne by returning to the field, knowing you've been
- 1:16Speaker 1: called to lead, yet spending your days caring for sheep.
- 1:20Speaker 1: His environment didn't look like the promise, but David didn't
- 1:23Speaker 1: allow his surroundings to redefine him. He continued to serve faithfully.
- 1:28Speaker 1: He protected those sheep. He developed courage, discipline, and skill.
- 1:32Speaker 1: When a lion or a bear threatened the flock, David
- 1:35Speaker 1: stood up and fought. The very experiences that seemed ordinary
- 1:39Speaker 1: were preparing him for extraordinary responsibility. David was learning how
- 1:44Speaker 1: to protect sheep before he ever stood before Goliath. And
- 1:47Speaker 1: when the time came, the faithfulness he had developed in
- 1:51Speaker 1: private prepared him for the public assignment consequences. Come on, Jesus.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Maybe you're on your own shepherd field right now. You
- 1:59Speaker 1: may be working behind the scenes. You may be waiting
- 2:02Speaker 1: for recognition. You may be doing something that feels insignificant
- 2:05Speaker 1: compared to the vision in your heart. But don't you
- 2:08Speaker 1: let your current environment convince you that you have no
- 2:11Speaker 1: value or that your purpose has been canceled. Your location
- 2:15Speaker 1: is not your identity. Your season is not yours. your
- 2:19Speaker 1: entire story and your present circumstances do not have the
- 2:24Speaker 1: final authority over what God is shaping you to become.
- 2:28Speaker 1: So you be faithful where you are. Give your best
- 2:30Speaker 1: even when nobody's applauding. Develop your gifts. Keep your character strong.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Trust God's timing. David didn't have to pretend he was
- 2:38Speaker 1: already in the palace. No, no. He simply had to
- 2:40Speaker 1: remain faithful in the field. Come on, Jesus. And when
- 2:43Speaker 1: the right time came, God knew exactly where to find him.
- 2:46Speaker 1: So don't despise your preparation season. God can use the
- 2:50Speaker 1: field to prepare you for the future. My Lord. Father,
- 2:53Speaker 1: thank you that our current environment does not define us.
- 2:57Speaker 1: You do. Help us to remain faithful where you've placed us.
- 3:00Speaker 1: When we feel overlooked or discouraged, remind us that you're
- 3:03Speaker 1: preparing us for even more. in our ordinary seasons. Give
- 3:09Speaker 1: us discipline to develop our gifts, humility to serve, and
- 3:12Speaker 1: courage to trust your timing. Help us to become the
- 3:15Speaker 1: people that you called us to be without allowing our
- 3:17Speaker 1: circumstances to determine our identity. We place our future in
- 3:21Speaker 1: your hands, in Jesus' name. Now, that's your word for today.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Take it, apply it to your everyday life, and you
- 3:27Speaker 1: continue to be encouraged and inspired. It is your early
- 3:30Speaker 1: morning praise party. I am Sherri Mackey.
