Congress Proposes First Federal AI Framework Requiring Employers to Disclose AI-Driven Layoffs
Representatives Obernolte (R-CA) and Trahan (D-MA) released the Great American AI Act, a 269-page bipartisan bill that would amend the WARN Act to require companies to disclose when AI is a substantial factor in mass layoffs, add federal whistleblower protections, and create an AI Workforce Research Hub at the Department of Labor.
