- 0:00Speaker 1: The Force will be with you always.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Hello and welcome back to another episode of Star Wars
- 0:25Speaker 2: Alliance of Horse of Horse of Course, I'm your host,
- 0:31Speaker 2: Clay and with me like every single week, of course,
- 0:36Speaker 2: is Katie, Katie, how are you doing today?
- 0:41Speaker 3: I'm stressed. I've been up since five am. I apparently
- 0:44Speaker 3: have a sick toddler. It's we're gonna make it, I have.
- 0:50Speaker 2: It's funny that you say that. Do you remember our
- 0:53Speaker 2: conversation about whether we would even attempt to stay up
- 0:58Speaker 2: and watch these episodes? Yeah, so, believe it or not.
- 1:07Speaker 2: I found myself just randomly playing a video game last night,
- 1:16Speaker 2: and I was just playing and playing, just like because
- 1:19Speaker 2: I was just in the mood to play a video game.
- 1:21Speaker 2: That was it. And I was just playing and playing
- 1:24Speaker 2: and there wasn't like it was actually a pretty hard
- 1:27Speaker 2: part of the game, and so I'm like, I'm gonna
- 1:29Speaker 2: get through this. I'm not gonna go to bed until
- 1:31Speaker 2: I can get through this. And so I started to
- 1:36Speaker 2: really hunker down and try to get it done. And
- 1:39Speaker 2: then I'm like, you know what, I think I should
- 1:43Speaker 2: take a break. And as soon as I said that,
- 1:47Speaker 2: I looked down at the clock and I was like,
- 1:53Speaker 2: wait a second, that.
- 1:57Speaker 4: Is it's already time to watch Visions. I'll watch the
- 2:03Speaker 4: first time. I'll watch the first two episodes, and then
- 2:09Speaker 4: I'll go to bed. And then, Katie, this is where
- 2:14Speaker 4: I made the mistake. I've been living in Indiana.
- 2:18Speaker 2: For two whole years, and for some reason, I still
- 2:22Speaker 2: can't tell the difference between Central Time and Standard or
- 2:25Speaker 2: Eastern Standard Time. Because it was only one forty five
- 2:33Speaker 2: and at two o'clock. At two o'clock, I pressed on
- 2:38Speaker 2: Star Wars on Disney Plus, expecting for Visions to be
- 2:44Speaker 2: the very first thing that I can click, and it
- 2:48Speaker 2: wasn't there. And I was like, what is going on there?
- 2:51Speaker 2: Why is it not here? It should be right here?
- 2:55Speaker 2: And then I looked at the time, and I'm like,
- 2:57Speaker 2: wait a second, it used to be two am because
- 3:01Speaker 2: I was in Texas. It's now three am. Yep, hell no,
- 3:07Speaker 2: I'm going to bed. And so I just went and
- 3:10Speaker 2: I watched all of this, of course all day. A
- 3:13Speaker 2: majority of it I watched this morning, and then because
- 3:18Speaker 2: I was donating plasma, so I watched the majority of
- 3:20Speaker 2: it while I was donating uh, and then watched the
- 3:23Speaker 2: rest while Amberlyn was of course taking her nap, But guys,
- 3:30Speaker 2: we are going to be reviewing. Reviewing is a is
- 3:36Speaker 2: a pretty strong word for what we're gonna be doing
- 3:38Speaker 2: right now. We're giving surface level thoughts and rankings of
- 3:46Speaker 2: Star Wars Visions Volume three. We will be going into
- 3:51Speaker 2: the nitty gritty of every single episode in the upcoming
- 3:56Speaker 2: weeks of November, because there is a lot in each
- 4:03Speaker 2: one of these episodes that I would love to talk
- 4:05Speaker 2: about and I'm sure Katie would love to talk about.
- 4:09Speaker 2: But if we did that for all nine episodes, we
- 4:13Speaker 2: would be here for four hours.
- 4:16Speaker 3: So we're gonna break it up for all in November.
- 4:19Speaker 2: Yes, so we're gonna do, like we just said, surface
- 4:25Speaker 2: level thoughts, and then we will do, of course, our rankings.
- 4:29Speaker 2: The rankings. We will start at nine. So what we
- 4:34Speaker 2: thought was the I won't say worst is like a
- 4:37Speaker 2: harsh word. I would say like what we liked the least,
- 4:43Speaker 2: to the point of what we liked the best.
- 4:46Speaker 3: Yes, so, and guys, just because I'm remembering this at
- 4:52Speaker 3: the start, the embargo for Master of Evil is Yes,
- 4:56Speaker 3: our review is out in the wild. And that was
- 5:00Speaker 3: wild one. That was a wild one because we probably
- 5:05Speaker 3: spent twenty minutes dealing with the fact that I missed
- 5:09Speaker 3: a key word actually like he's sentenced in one of
- 5:13Speaker 3: the final chapters. That changed my entire perspective on the book.
- 5:18Speaker 3: So now I have to go back and reread and
- 5:20Speaker 3: try recombobulate my thoughts. So that was great. Book is
- 5:26Speaker 3: going to be out November eleventh, guys, So if you're like, well,
- 5:30Speaker 3: if you want to wait until you've read the book
- 5:33Speaker 3: to come back to the review, don't worry. We'll have
- 5:35Speaker 3: the link for you. Guys. Still it's no biggie, but
- 5:39Speaker 3: if you like to listen to those reviews ahead of schedule,
- 5:42Speaker 3: that review is out for you. Guys. We did go
- 5:46Speaker 3: into spoilers, but not like too too much, but obviously
- 5:51Speaker 3: talking about something in one of the final chapters.
- 5:55Speaker 2: To get to get a better idea of what Katie
- 6:00Speaker 2: had been missing. We went into spoilers that way to
- 6:04Speaker 2: help explain it. I again in that review, Katie even
- 6:09Speaker 2: says that we will come back around probably after its release,
- 6:14Speaker 2: so that way we could talk a little bit more
- 6:16Speaker 2: about it, and then we will discuss Katie's third reread
- 6:23Speaker 2: of the book to see if she feels better about
- 6:28Speaker 2: the discussion.
- 6:30Speaker 3: Who knows, We'll see.
- 6:33Speaker 2: But let's go ahead and jump into this service level
- 6:39Speaker 2: thought review of Star Wars Visions Volume three. Now, Katie,
- 6:46Speaker 2: why don't you go ahead and do us the honors
- 6:48Speaker 2: of sharing your service level thoughts first?
- 6:52Speaker 3: So I enjoyed most of what we got. I do
- 6:59Speaker 3: think this sequels we're super interesting. I'm excited to delve
- 7:04Speaker 3: deeper into those. But like right now, I just I
- 7:07Speaker 3: didn't go back and rewatch those because I wanted to
- 7:09Speaker 3: kind of approach things with the Queen slate and somebody going,
- 7:14Speaker 3: oh hey, this looks interesting, like what is this about
- 7:18Speaker 3: kind of things. So when we go into that, we're
- 7:21Speaker 3: going to tackle the sequels individually, guys as one of
- 7:24Speaker 3: the direct episodes, so we can talk about the sequel aspects.
- 7:28Speaker 3: But I thought I really enjoyed those. There's I think
- 7:35Speaker 3: more misses in a fine way, in like a okay,
- 7:42Speaker 3: this is okay kind of vibe. Then there has been
- 7:45Speaker 3: in previous seasons, and this volume has the one that
- 7:54Speaker 3: I would say I would not watch again. Like this,
- 7:58Speaker 3: I'm saying.
- 7:58Speaker 2: That we probably have the same one. Knowing you, knowing
- 8:06Speaker 2: you and knowing our taste, I think we have it
- 8:10Speaker 2: in that case. I think our number nine, because that's
- 8:13Speaker 2: how we're gonna be ranking these We're gonna go first
- 8:16Speaker 2: the least favorite to the favorite, so nine to one.
- 8:21Speaker 2: I think we might be sharing our number nine.
- 8:24Speaker 3: I'm so scared about it too, because it's like a
- 8:28Speaker 3: hot topic in film discussion. But like, I really just
- 8:33Speaker 3: did not like this one, and think when we delve
- 8:37Speaker 3: deeper into it, I probably still don't like it.
- 8:41Speaker 2: I am actually like dreading kind of watching it again
- 8:47Speaker 2: because we will have to do a deep dive of it.
- 8:50Speaker 2: But my surface level thoughts, I agree almost with everything
- 8:55Speaker 2: that you just said. I was more like I was
- 9:01Speaker 2: more hyped at the end of volume one and at
- 9:05Speaker 2: the end of volume two, at the end of volume three,
- 9:10Speaker 2: there's one episode of volume three that like my jaw dropped,
- 9:16Speaker 2: I threw a fist in the air, and like I
- 9:20Speaker 2: was really excited, like and I actually watched that one
- 9:23Speaker 2: a second time in the Japanese language, the way that
- 9:28Speaker 2: it was, you know, technically drawn and animated. Four So
- 9:37Speaker 2: I did that. That's the only one that I went
- 9:40Speaker 2: back and watched again.
- 9:49Speaker 3: We were going to do the subs this morning. Well
- 9:54Speaker 3: I didn't have to worry about a toddler and everything. Yeah, yeaha,
- 9:59Speaker 3: this is probably bad of me because I did not
- 10:02Speaker 3: adequately prepare for this. But on the audio, they had
- 10:07Speaker 3: the Asian languages in Asian characters, so I couldn't tell
- 10:13Speaker 3: which one was Japanese and stuff. Like previous years it's like, oh,
- 10:18Speaker 3: here's the natural one, or like here's some format kind
- 10:23Speaker 3: of thing. There wasn't that option for this, so we
- 10:27Speaker 3: ended up just going straight dumbs. But when we go
- 10:30Speaker 3: deep dive, I do want to watch.
- 10:32Speaker 2: So okay, I correct me if I'm wrong, and I
- 10:38Speaker 2: can go back to Disney Plus to double check this.
- 10:41Speaker 2: I thought that Volume one at the very least released
- 10:49Speaker 2: with two versions of every episode. Did they or did
- 10:55Speaker 2: they not?
- 10:56Speaker 3: That doesn't sound familiar.
- 10:58Speaker 2: Okay, then I must be going crazy because I thought
- 11:02Speaker 2: when I opened Disney Plus today that I would be
- 11:04Speaker 2: getting a English version and a Japanese version, and then
- 11:07Speaker 2: I could choose between the two on each one. That's
- 11:10Speaker 2: not the case. You actually have to press the settings,
- 11:12Speaker 2: go into audio, and then choose either Japanese Spanish what
- 11:19Speaker 2: have you? Yeah, and then of course the English subtitles. Yeah.
- 11:24Speaker 3: So obviously I can't share my screen right now, but
- 11:26Speaker 3: on my computer, I have Chinese Chinese, Chinese, and then
- 11:32Speaker 3: I have Japanese, Korean, the Chinese on my TV, and
- 11:38Speaker 3: the Japanese and Korean was all in Asian characters, so
- 11:42Speaker 3: that I could not tell which one was which because
- 11:44Speaker 3: I was like, Okay, I know all of these are Japanese.
- 11:48Speaker 3: I just need to select Japanese.
- 11:50Speaker 2: And with you knowing the yeah, with you not knowing
- 11:54Speaker 2: the characters of the alphabet, that's like, that's understandable. So
- 11:59Speaker 2: weird that, Like, of course, just because of the way
- 12:03Speaker 2: these websites and apps are generated. If you have a
- 12:08Speaker 2: certain setting on your web browser, please have it in
- 12:11Speaker 2: your app, Please have it on yeah, Like because I
- 12:16Speaker 2: can look, I'm looking at these settings right now and
- 12:19Speaker 2: it's going Dutch, English, English, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese and
- 12:26Speaker 2: then lower it has uh like Mandarin and things like that.
- 12:31Speaker 2: So like that's silly. That's a little silly, to be honest.
- 12:36Speaker 3: So that was frustration number one this morning, because I
- 12:40Speaker 3: really did, especially after the previous volumes of visions, I
- 12:45Speaker 3: did want to do subs when I have the capability
- 12:48Speaker 3: to do subs, because I do understand that we get
- 12:53Speaker 3: a better idea of how the emotion is supposed to
- 12:59Speaker 3: betray a in these episodes and whatnot. The other issue
- 13:03Speaker 3: that I had is, so I am cheap and I
- 13:06Speaker 3: pay for I don't pay for AD free Disney Plus.
- 13:11Speaker 3: Tell me why for the Dual Payback. I had five
- 13:17Speaker 3: one minute and thirty second AD breaks in the Dual Payback,
- 13:22Speaker 3: and I had like four in the next one. I
- 13:24Speaker 3: had four in the next one.
- 13:26Speaker 2: Okay, see, this is why, this.
- 13:29Speaker 3: Is why I have all pasted off about this.
- 13:30Speaker 2: This is why I have a problem with capitalism on
- 13:33Speaker 2: top of a whole bunch of stuff. But for the
- 13:35Speaker 2: fact that this is a twenty three minute episode. Yeah,
- 13:39Speaker 2: the Dual Payback is a twenty three minute episode. You
- 13:45Speaker 2: should let's take it for our network. Guys. If you,
- 13:50Speaker 2: of course are listening to this, you know that anything
- 13:54Speaker 2: less than thirty minutes, you're probably gonna hear one, if
- 13:59Speaker 2: not two who advertisements. That's just how it is. You
- 14:05Speaker 2: either put an ad at the beginning or in the
- 14:09Speaker 2: middle of these small episodes. There is no reason why
- 14:14Speaker 2: it should break three, Like, it should not get any
- 14:19Speaker 2: higher than three ads.
- 14:20Speaker 3: Yeah, it was one in the beginning and then it
- 14:23Speaker 3: was four in the middle. Like, so you're talking, I
- 14:27Speaker 3: got up at five. We were down the stairs by
- 14:29Speaker 3: five fifteen. I should have been able in an hour.
- 14:34Speaker 3: I should have been able to knock out three and
- 14:37Speaker 3: a half episodes. Yeah, and I barely knocked out three
- 14:43Speaker 3: before my toddler woke up.
- 14:46Speaker 2: And that's insane.
- 14:47Speaker 3: So I was super not happy with that this morning,
- 14:53Speaker 3: because there's no reason that I should have had to happen.
- 14:56Speaker 2: Yeah. Not not not cool. You're showing your.
- 15:00Speaker 3: Audience with this because there's some people who are not
- 15:03Speaker 3: doing these who want to go away from that.
- 15:05Speaker 2: Not not only that, again, for the third year in
- 15:10Speaker 2: a row, Disney just does not like to promote visions
- 15:17Speaker 2: at all. There is no marketing for this show.
- 15:23Speaker 3: It started the week of because we've been getting individual
- 15:26Speaker 3: posters for the episodes. You can't tell me that you
- 15:30Speaker 3: couldn't have been doing one a week or two a
- 15:32Speaker 3: week in the past month.
- 15:35Speaker 2: Like not only that, but like the fact that we
- 15:39Speaker 2: didn't get a trailer until I want to say, three
- 15:45Speaker 2: weeks ago, m hm, and we have not gotten any
- 15:52Speaker 2: more like many trailers or like many advertisements, like nothing
- 16:00Speaker 2: like take three to fifteen seconds of any one of
- 16:08Speaker 2: these episodes. Throw in a available October twenty ninth text
- 16:16Speaker 2: in the middle of that clip along with your Disney
- 16:20Speaker 2: plus logo boom. It's literally all you have to do.
- 16:25Speaker 2: And yet we did not see any of that. Yeah,
- 16:30Speaker 2: like in in the age of everybody doing social media marketing,
- 16:37Speaker 2: there's nothing shown for this, Like the banners, the posters,
- 16:42Speaker 2: whatever you you were mentioning before. Not everybody's gonna see those. Yep.
- 16:50Speaker 2: So like you, I think Disney needs to do better.
- 16:57Speaker 2: But let's go ahead and move on to our ranking.
- 17:00Speaker 2: Oh well, do you have any more insight? No?
- 17:04Speaker 3: Not really, Like those are my biggest things. And obviously
- 17:06Speaker 3: the ad is the promotion that has really nothing to
- 17:10Speaker 3: do with the internal review that we're about to do
- 17:13Speaker 3: for everything that's a Disney thing. Yes, and it's basically
- 17:17Speaker 3: some the ad breaks. Maybe not so much because I
- 17:20Speaker 3: get adbreaks, guys, I do, like Clay said, we put
- 17:23Speaker 3: them here. I don't get having five and twenty three minutes.
- 17:28Speaker 3: That was my biggest complaint with that. So everything else
- 17:33Speaker 3: should be content based going forward. So Clay, because you
- 17:37Speaker 3: think you have an idea of what my number nine is,
- 17:39Speaker 3: why don't you tell us what your number nine is?
- 17:43Speaker 2: Number nine black? Yep. So the description on black on
- 17:55Speaker 2: the cusp of defeat, A psychedelic battle plays out in
- 18:00Speaker 2: the haunted psyche of an Imperial trooper. Guys, I I'm
- 18:10Speaker 2: gonna say something very controversial, and I hope this is
- 18:17Speaker 2: not the case. I truly believe that every single one
- 18:22Speaker 2: of these studios has way more integrity than what I'm
- 18:26Speaker 2: about to proclaim. And if there is any proof and
- 18:31Speaker 2: people want to share with me one, please do. But
- 18:36Speaker 2: my hottest take of episode nine black is for one,
- 18:44Speaker 2: I fell asleep watching it intent less than ten it is.
- 18:49Speaker 2: It is less than twelve minutes. It is like eleven
- 18:52Speaker 2: minutes something, and that's with the credits, so really it's
- 18:55Speaker 2: like ten minutes in something.
- 18:56Speaker 3: It's fourteen minutes.
- 18:58Speaker 2: It's fourteen minutes. Okay. I fell asleep, I like. And
- 19:03Speaker 2: when I say fell asleep, I fell asleep for maybe
- 19:06Speaker 2: like I dozed off is probably what I should say
- 19:11Speaker 2: for like maybe three or four seconds, and then I
- 19:15Speaker 2: woke back up. But my my hot take, and my
- 19:19Speaker 2: very controversial take is in a Because of the weird
- 19:25Speaker 2: psychedelic like thing that they wanted to portray, this looked
- 19:30Speaker 2: like a big AI mess and I didn't want to, Like,
- 19:37Speaker 2: I didn't even want to say it out loud when
- 19:39Speaker 2: when I was watching it, and like Abby came into
- 19:41Speaker 2: the room, She's like, what are you watching? And I
- 19:44Speaker 2: was like, it's Star Wars Visions. But honestly, and I
- 19:47Speaker 2: hate to say this, it kind of looks like a
- 19:49Speaker 2: hot Ai mess with a whole bunch of different music
- 19:54Speaker 2: attached to it.
- 19:55Speaker 3: I would have done better with this one. And just
- 19:58Speaker 3: to reiterate, this is my number nine, guys, in case
- 20:00Speaker 3: you missed me saying yep, I would have done a
- 20:04Speaker 3: lot better if they had truly treated this like a
- 20:08Speaker 3: music video, if you had had like a Japanese song
- 20:11Speaker 3: playing with it, or something like something to articulate the story.
- 20:18Speaker 3: Because for some reason, I remembered the discussion about this
- 20:23Speaker 3: at celebration that the guy in the in the Imperial
- 20:28Speaker 3: Trooper outfit is technically a Jedi. I don't remember if
- 20:31Speaker 3: that's accurate or not.
- 20:34Speaker 2: We we had mentioned something around celebration that like, oh,
- 20:40Speaker 2: this is the battle between good and evil, there's gonna
- 20:42Speaker 2: be somebody under cover like something like that. We had
- 20:46Speaker 2: sot it.
- 20:47Speaker 3: I feel like this is the one. Then, I just
- 20:53Speaker 3: I have never done well with silent films in general.
- 20:57Speaker 3: That's one of the things that made me so nervous
- 21:00Speaker 3: about trials or tales of the Jedi and stuff like
- 21:04Speaker 3: that is because it was described as relatively a silent film,
- 21:10Speaker 3: like very minimal dialogue. It has turned into not that.
- 21:15Speaker 3: But yeah, it was described as a silent film, and
- 21:19Speaker 3: I am not a fan. And this gave me even
- 21:23Speaker 3: more reason not to be a fan, because it just
- 21:27Speaker 3: it looks like there's a hot mess and eventually I
- 21:30Speaker 3: will probably get the story together. But I watched it
- 21:35Speaker 3: twice and that was two times too many for me.
- 21:39Speaker 2: See, I did not have the strength to watch it again.
- 21:45Speaker 2: There were like your whole idea of like there being
- 21:49Speaker 2: more of like a music video type thing. I can
- 21:53Speaker 2: see this being in the same vein of something like
- 21:56Speaker 2: a Disney's fantasia. Yeah, but it wasn't that like you
- 22:04Speaker 2: talk about, like, oh, a psychedelic battle plays out in
- 22:07Speaker 2: the haunted psyche of Imperial Trooper. There is no story.
- 22:11Speaker 2: There's just chaos, like there's nothing there, and.
- 22:15Speaker 3: Then it's a lot of imagery.
- 22:17Speaker 2: It's a lot of imagery. And then in the middle
- 22:19Speaker 2: of the entire thing, for a blink and you miss
- 22:22Speaker 2: it moment, there's a whole bunch of people in swimsuits
- 22:26Speaker 2: and bikinis.
- 22:29Speaker 3: I was like, is that like a butt?
- 22:33Speaker 2: When it happened, I'm like, is this even taking place
- 22:36Speaker 2: in the Star Wars galaxy? What's going on? So, Like, honestly, guys,
- 22:45Speaker 2: this may be the in depth review that you're getting now,
- 22:51Speaker 2: because I don't know how we're gonna feel with coming
- 22:54Speaker 2: back to this next week or the week prior or
- 22:58Speaker 2: the week after. So let's move on to number eight.
- 23:15Speaker 3: So I guess it's my turn to go first, is it?
- 23:22Speaker 3: So I would probably say my number eight.
- 23:29Speaker 2: Oh, mine's a hot take, probably, but you keep going.
- 23:35Speaker 3: I think mine is probably the smuggler, which is number seven.
- 23:44Speaker 2: Okay, episode seven?
- 23:46Speaker 3: Yeah, and it's not for any bad reason, Like we
- 23:48Speaker 3: talk about nine. It is a big leap.
- 23:53Speaker 2: Yes, yes, this is like they would need to be
- 23:57Speaker 2: a couple more volumes to reach episode nine.
- 24:01Speaker 3: Yeah, Like it is literally just that big of a difference, guys,
- 24:07Speaker 3: where I have like a middle pack and the Smuggler
- 24:10Speaker 3: probably ends the middle pack, Like, but next week we
- 24:16Speaker 3: talk about it, that could completely change. I don't know.
- 24:22Speaker 3: The Smuggler there just doesn't feel like a ton of
- 24:26Speaker 3: depth there. It feels like they're trying to do too
- 24:29Speaker 3: much with very little time. I think I do enjoy
- 24:34Speaker 3: the animation. That animation is probably one. It's very traditional anime,
- 24:40Speaker 3: I feel like, so it lends itself to being more
- 24:45Speaker 3: friendly to like a person who doesn't typically watch anime
- 24:49Speaker 3: because it's something that you're used to.
- 24:52Speaker 2: Yes, the studio was a studio. Trigger is the one
- 24:59Speaker 2: who anime. It's the Smuggler. The Smuggler is somewhere else
- 25:04Speaker 2: on my list. I'm not going to reveal where. My
- 25:07Speaker 2: controversial take for my number eight is the dual Payback.
- 25:14Speaker 2: Oh yes, the very first episode, the sequel to the Duel.
- 25:21Speaker 2: And I think there is a bias that is breaching
- 25:26Speaker 2: this ranking, and that bias being this novel Ronan. I
- 25:35Speaker 2: think I just really enjoyed the like weirdness of its
- 25:44Speaker 2: own universe and like being more magical than steampunk.
- 25:54Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, And.
- 25:59Speaker 2: That is why when I watched it, I was like, Okay,
- 26:03Speaker 2: I'm still getting all the same vibes. I'm getting all
- 26:07Speaker 2: the same vibes. But when I'm looking at the strength
- 26:12Speaker 2: of everything else this season, Payback just doesn't cut it
- 26:17Speaker 2: for me.
- 26:18Speaker 3: And it is my number seven because of the same
- 26:23Speaker 3: reasons I liked the story a little bit better than
- 26:27Speaker 3: what we get in The Smuggler. And I really enjoy
- 26:30Speaker 3: the animation, but I was like crossing my fingers that
- 26:38Speaker 3: they were going to at least pay a little bit
- 26:41Speaker 3: of attention to Ronan and they didn't.
- 26:45Speaker 2: So and that's totally fair. I want to go ahead,
- 26:49Speaker 2: And yeah, you go ahead.
- 26:52Speaker 3: That's totally The studio is right, Lucas Hill does it
- 26:55Speaker 3: all the time. You can't expect some other studio to go, Okay, yeah,
- 26:59Speaker 3: we give you permission to do a sequel to this
- 27:01Speaker 3: as part of the pr methodology, but then we still
- 27:05Speaker 3: want to do our own thing, Like well, I can't
- 27:07Speaker 3: blame a studio for doing that when Lucasfilm does it themselves. Yeah.
- 27:11Speaker 2: And I also would have to go back to find
- 27:14Speaker 2: out if the author reached out to the studio at
- 27:21Speaker 2: all to like get any backstory on that world. You know,
- 27:32Speaker 2: I can't remember if she did or not. This of
- 27:36Speaker 2: course being studio uh Kamakazi and Anima Kamakazi do doja
- 27:49Speaker 2: and Anima is the one who animated the duel, will
- 27:53Speaker 2: pay back.
- 27:56Speaker 3: It does not look like, oh wait, that my be
- 28:00Speaker 3: the acknowledgements.
- 28:03Speaker 2: Oh well, that's I think a little different than.
- 28:11Speaker 3: You don't see anything here that says like like, hey,
- 28:20Speaker 3: thanks for doing this kind of thing or thanks for
- 28:22Speaker 3: because you know, sometimes Star Wars authors will go I
- 28:25Speaker 3: want to acknowledge these people for being references.
- 28:28Speaker 2: Kind of yeah, very true. My number seven, since you
- 28:35Speaker 2: just said it, yours the Bird of Paradise. This is
- 28:41Speaker 2: episode eight. This is the one with the very gorgeous.
- 28:47Speaker 3: I love the animation.
- 28:50Speaker 2: Three D animation looks absolutely amazing. I really did enjoy it.
- 28:55Speaker 2: I love the character design. I really really enjoy the
- 29:04Speaker 2: By the way, this is Polygon Pictures who did the animation.
- 29:08Speaker 3: And I did resistance.
- 29:11Speaker 2: Yes, I love the back and forth between the art styles.
- 29:19Speaker 2: I thought that was really really fun. But again, I
- 29:25Speaker 2: felt the other stories were a bit stronger because when
- 29:30Speaker 2: it comes to the story behind the Bird of Paradise,
- 29:36Speaker 2: I felt like there needed to be more. I felt
- 29:39Speaker 2: this one was too short.
- 29:45Speaker 3: So I think this one is probably a hot take
- 29:49Speaker 3: at number six. Okay, but I didn't connect with f
- 29:56Speaker 3: in the original story, and I struggled to connect with
- 30:00Speaker 3: her again here.
- 30:02Speaker 5: WHOA, So the Lost Ones the number six episode is
- 30:11Speaker 5: my number six.
- 30:14Speaker 2: Now I will go ahead and say this Lost Ones
- 30:18Speaker 2: is five, So it's not too crazy. It's not too crazy.
- 30:24Speaker 2: Again a reoccurring theme. And again we will dive deeper
- 30:31Speaker 2: into this on the final November episode because we're we're
- 30:37Speaker 2: throwing the sequels in our final November episode for this year. Yeah,
- 30:46Speaker 2: I do think that Visions is coming back to Japan
- 30:54Speaker 2: because there's just so much of these works that felt incomplete. Yeah,
- 31:01Speaker 2: so the Lost Ones feels like there could be more,
- 31:06Speaker 2: and so that's why it was number five for me.
- 31:09Speaker 2: But number six for me is actually you Goo's Treasure.
- 31:17Speaker 3: That's number five for me.
- 31:19Speaker 2: This is well, it's it's but here's the thing. These
- 31:22Speaker 2: are the exact same studios. They are both the exact
- 31:26Speaker 2: same studio. This is studio.
- 31:31Speaker 3: Is this with Kinema Citrus Kinema?
- 31:34Speaker 2: Yes? Uh. I really enjoyed the the bear droid Billy
- 31:46Speaker 2: really cute. I think that this season did a very
- 31:50Speaker 2: good job with droids.
- 31:52Speaker 3: I love the droids in this season amazing.
- 31:54Speaker 2: There's there is a lot more to talk about with
- 31:57Speaker 2: droids in this season, trust me, because my god, the
- 32:01Speaker 2: Ninth Jedi by the way, Uh, just just gonna throw
- 32:05Speaker 2: that one out there. But you Goo's Treasure I loved
- 32:11Speaker 2: because the when you look when you look at just
- 32:14Speaker 2: the preview. By the way, if you open Disney Plus,
- 32:18Speaker 2: you literally see You Go's Treasure and the Lost Ones
- 32:21Speaker 2: right next to each other, and they look completely different.
- 32:28Speaker 3: Mm hmm, which is wild.
- 32:32Speaker 2: They look so different. Hold on is is is it
- 32:40Speaker 2: still kind that did this one? Yep, yeah, Kinema Citrus,
- 32:44Speaker 2: both of them. Yeah, they look so different, which I
- 32:50Speaker 2: believe is a testament to how great a studio that
- 32:55Speaker 2: they are that they can do so many different styles.
- 33:00Speaker 2: I think the voice acting on both of these, if
- 33:05Speaker 2: not on every episode except for nine, does a really
- 33:08Speaker 2: really good job. I think that leafs and bounds, and
- 33:13Speaker 2: I wanted to say that that also, you go to
- 33:18Speaker 2: volume one of Visions, watch all the volume one, come
- 33:24Speaker 2: back here, watch all the volume three. You will literally
- 33:29Speaker 2: see the evolution of animation in just two and a
- 33:33Speaker 2: half years. You see the evolution of animation. I think
- 33:37Speaker 2: that's really really cool. But yeah, you Ghost Treasure is
- 33:43Speaker 2: my number six, with the Lost Ones being number five.
- 33:47Speaker 2: You just said that You Goos Treasure is your number five.
- 33:51Speaker 3: So yeah, I love this story a little bit more
- 33:54Speaker 3: than I love the Lost Ones. This story has been
- 33:59Speaker 3: something very true. Additional, I feel like four Visions. So
- 34:02Speaker 3: that's why it's kind of still hit on the middle
- 34:05Speaker 3: tier is because the story is just not there per se,
- 34:11Speaker 3: Like it's not as original as I would enjoy.
- 34:16Speaker 2: One thing that I think I enjoy about Uko's Treasure
- 34:22Speaker 2: almost more than anything in Visions, well Visions volume three
- 34:30Speaker 2: specifically because other volumes have done it before. Vision three.
- 34:36Speaker 2: Euco's Treasure does what the whole premise of Visions is,
- 34:44Speaker 2: like it steps away from what Visions is supposed to be.
- 34:47Speaker 2: Visions literally Disney said, hey, make your own Star Wars yep,
- 34:52Speaker 2: and UGO's Treasure. Like again, I've said maybe one or
- 34:56Speaker 2: two episodes in each of volume one. In volume two
- 34:59Speaker 2: there like no, I like Star Wars how it is
- 35:03Speaker 2: we're gonna be in the same universe as Star Wars
- 35:05Speaker 2: because we're on Tattooing where you hear about Moss Eisley
- 35:09Speaker 2: like this is Star Wars, and so to hear that
- 35:14Speaker 2: it kind of makes you feel a little bit more
- 35:16Speaker 2: personal towards it because it's in the world that you
- 35:19Speaker 2: love or in the universe that you love, you know.
- 35:22Speaker 2: So that's why I think it's like that's a one
- 35:26Speaker 2: up that it has on the Lost Ones. My number.
- 35:34Speaker 3: Four.
- 35:34Speaker 2: My number four is the Smuggler. This one also is
- 35:47Speaker 2: in the world of the known Star Wars galaxy. We
- 35:54Speaker 2: have some very recognizable locations in this one as well.
- 36:04Speaker 2: And this I believe is Studio Trigger. Studio Trigger is
- 36:10Speaker 2: a very very popular animation studio. Absolutely loved it. Love
- 36:17Speaker 2: the voice work, love the sound design on this as well.
- 36:25Speaker 2: And this one. I just had a lot of fun
- 36:28Speaker 2: with this one. Like there's a scene in here, like
- 36:32Speaker 2: one of the very last scenes, while they're escaping the planet.
- 36:38Speaker 2: The main character is like too slow and goes into hyperspace.
- 36:42Speaker 2: But like if you look at the frame, if they
- 36:45Speaker 2: had entered hysper space just like two seconds too late,
- 36:50Speaker 2: they would have crashed into that star destroyer and like
- 36:53Speaker 2: game over, they would have just been dead in space.
- 36:57Speaker 2: But still it's just really really fun. It's this one
- 37:00Speaker 2: I thought was really cool, the fact that like one
- 37:08Speaker 2: one thing in here that I think is a little
- 37:10Speaker 2: bit more popular than well, not really more popular than
- 37:16Speaker 2: Volume one or volume two, but we again see the
- 37:20Speaker 2: theme of like hiding Jedi, like Jedi that are hiding,
- 37:25Speaker 2: and like we see a badassh old Grandma. I love
- 37:28Speaker 2: that with an android hand mm hmm. I was like,
- 37:33Speaker 2: holy crap, this is so cool. Like so I was like, yeah,
- 37:37Speaker 2: this is gonna be way higher up on my list
- 37:39Speaker 2: than I think. So that was my number four.
- 37:42Speaker 3: My number four, and this is kind of tied with
- 37:47Speaker 3: my number three. I can't I had been back and
- 37:49Speaker 3: forth with these. So my number four is going to
- 37:53Speaker 3: be The Song of Four Wings, which is the Princess
- 37:59Speaker 3: leiah S story where she goes into the village with
- 38:04Speaker 3: her droid and goes and finds the the survivor who
- 38:11Speaker 3: happens to be a Force user. This one is by
- 38:15Speaker 3: Project Studio Q, which has done uh The Twins.
- 38:22Speaker 2: Uh.
- 38:23Speaker 3: They did part of The Twins yes in volume one,
- 38:29Speaker 3: so they got to do their own this time. I
- 38:30Speaker 3: love the animation in this some of the concepts is
- 38:34Speaker 3: super super cool. Again, I've gone back and forth on
- 38:38Speaker 3: this one and my number three. I just liked the
- 38:41Speaker 3: story and my number three a little bit more than
- 38:43Speaker 3: I liked this one ultimately.
- 38:46Speaker 2: So, okay, the Song of Four Wings is higher on
- 38:50Speaker 2: my list, so we're gonna leave that because I have
- 38:56Speaker 2: some thoughts about for me. So so my number three
- 39:02Speaker 2: is Bounty Hunters. Bounty Hunters is a really fun one.
- 39:10Speaker 2: For me, this is by Oh gosh, uh oh hold on,
- 39:20Speaker 2: I was almost there. This is my studio, Wit or
- 39:22Speaker 2: Wit Studios. This one was also very fun. I can't
- 39:29Speaker 2: remember for the life of me the voice actor.
- 39:38Speaker 3: For I think it's The Boys, not Starlight, but Karen.
- 39:49Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, I'm talking about the droid.
- 39:52Speaker 3: Oh, the droid.
- 39:53Speaker 2: Okay, So he's on shun Chi, he is on Hilariously enough,
- 40:03Speaker 2: he is on The Daily Show with John Stewart Ronnie Shang.
- 40:11Speaker 2: When you hear his voice, you immediately know who he is.
- 40:16Speaker 3: I had no idea who it was show.
- 40:21Speaker 2: So he is a comedian. The fact that he plays
- 40:25Speaker 2: a droid with dual personalities I thought was really cool.
- 40:31Speaker 2: It does play into the plot and the twist on
- 40:40Speaker 2: the main character and her backstory because you see a flashback,
- 40:47Speaker 2: but you don't see the complete flashback until later. I
- 40:51Speaker 2: thought was really fun and it had it had some
- 40:55Speaker 2: like uh nostalgia with it. You the roller droid and like, oh, well,
- 41:03Speaker 2: he has a shield around him. How do you get
- 41:06Speaker 2: through the shield? And I was like, I know how
- 41:08Speaker 2: to get through the I know how to get through
- 41:10Speaker 2: the shield.
- 41:11Speaker 1: You go, you go.
- 41:14Speaker 2: And the fact that you just see the third ole
- 41:17Speaker 2: debt Dator just go really slow into the to the shield.
- 41:20Speaker 2: I was like, yes, I absolutely love it. But this
- 41:28Speaker 2: is the episode where Jodie Turner Smith was in. She
- 41:33Speaker 2: played Eno, which I believe was one of the slavers,
- 41:42Speaker 2: So uh yeah, this I thought was just a really
- 41:46Speaker 2: fun concept. This was also one that I'm like, ooh,
- 41:51Speaker 2: you could continue this story because they leave it open
- 41:56Speaker 2: very much. So so yeah, really really fun episode.
- 42:01Speaker 3: Bounty Hunters is higher on my list, so I will
- 42:05Speaker 3: save my thoughts. Oh. My next one is Birds of Paradise.
- 42:10Speaker 3: I know you said this one kind of went surface
- 42:13Speaker 3: level story wise for you, but I loved this story.
- 42:16Speaker 3: I love like the tracking of the days or the trials,
- 42:21Speaker 3: whatever you want to call them. I always have loved
- 42:24Speaker 3: the concept of Okay, we're going to take a sense
- 42:28Speaker 3: from you and we're going to see how you do
- 42:30Speaker 3: kind of thing. So putting that into Star Wars, even
- 42:34Speaker 3: though it's been done before, putting it here in such
- 42:38Speaker 3: a way with such beautiful animation where you like kind
- 42:41Speaker 3: of like you see her touch sensitivity on the screen,
- 42:47Speaker 3: I think that.
- 42:48Speaker 2: Is like the cleverness of it. It's like, oh, we're
- 42:51Speaker 2: going to take your sight, but also make this one
- 42:56Speaker 2: episode so visually appealing. So it's a little a little
- 43:01Speaker 2: bit of uh oxy moron there, but it was really good.
- 43:06Speaker 2: I did enjoy the animation. That was one thing that
- 43:09Speaker 2: I did say, yeah.
- 43:10Speaker 3: Yeah, And I love the like the Sith character in
- 43:14Speaker 3: this too, very like night Sister Harley Quinn esque. Yeah,
- 43:20Speaker 3: I really dug that. But I just love like the
- 43:23Speaker 3: overall concept story with this one, and the animation just
- 43:28Speaker 3: really got me.
- 43:29Speaker 2: So yeah, I understand that. Number two on my list,
- 43:38Speaker 2: the ninth Jedi, The Child of Hope.
- 43:46Speaker 3: Which has two. We continued on the end of it,
- 43:48Speaker 3: which I love.
- 43:49Speaker 2: Which I saw it too. We continued. I was like,
- 43:51Speaker 2: they're gonna do it again. I I'm telling you, Lucasfilm Disney, you.
- 44:01Speaker 3: Need before you say green like this for another one.
- 44:04Speaker 3: Remember they have the season coming.
- 44:09Speaker 2: I was just gonna say, just throw it on the
- 44:10Speaker 2: big screen.
- 44:11Speaker 3: Oh okay.
- 44:12Speaker 2: I was like, I know that they have the series,
- 44:16Speaker 2: and I'm totally down with continuing this in more than
- 44:20Speaker 2: just like once a year episodes, like we're going to
- 44:24Speaker 2: with the series, but after that series, throw it on
- 44:29Speaker 2: the big screen like this has. If you want to
- 44:35Speaker 2: do numbers like genuinely if you want to get numbers
- 44:42Speaker 2: out there, Guys, we just saw Demon Slayer mm hmm
- 44:49Speaker 2: beat both Superman and Fantastic Four in the box office.
- 45:00Speaker 2: This would destroy any expectations that it would be in
- 45:08Speaker 2: the box office. Like genuinely, of course, this is production
- 45:11Speaker 2: ig This episode ripped out my freaking heart. M h I.
- 45:20Speaker 2: I was like, Oh, We're finally getting back to like
- 45:24Speaker 2: the one thing that I've wanted for two and a
- 45:26Speaker 2: half years. This is the story that I've wanted for
- 45:29Speaker 2: two and a half years. And for them to end
- 45:32Speaker 2: it like that, I like, not only you know again,
- 45:40Speaker 2: surface level small spoilers. Tito, Tito stole the show.
- 45:48Speaker 3: I was not adequately prepared for Freddie high Moore's voice
- 45:53Speaker 3: acting of this because if you've seen The Good Doctor.
- 45:56Speaker 2: Yeah, the Good Doctor.
- 45:57Speaker 3: Yeah, if you've seen The Good Doctor, I said, wait,
- 46:03Speaker 3: is that the Good Doctor?
- 46:07Speaker 2: His very like soft spoken voice.
- 46:10Speaker 3: He's perfect for Android with.
- 46:13Speaker 2: The of course added sound design for a Droid perfect,
- 46:18Speaker 2: absolutely perfect, But for the fact that they throw in
- 46:26Speaker 2: the gut wrenching hey, go find your father, push the
- 46:33Speaker 2: escape pod. I saw it, Oh, Katie. I couldn't cry
- 46:38Speaker 2: because I was in the middle of donating plasma. I'm like,
- 46:41Speaker 2: I can't, I can't sit here surrounded by people just
- 46:47Speaker 2: like relaxing and me ugly cry. So I had to
- 46:49Speaker 2: like just like hold it all in. I love this.
- 46:55Speaker 2: I'm super excited for the of course series that's coming,
- 47:02Speaker 2: and I just really hope that Lucasfilm sees the potential
- 47:09Speaker 2: in this and keeps going.
- 47:12Speaker 3: Same because there's just so much good about this one.
- 47:19Speaker 3: And this one is also my number two. I just
- 47:24Speaker 3: I love this episode so much and it's twenty four minutes.
- 47:28Speaker 3: It does so much with those twenty four minutes, but
- 47:31Speaker 3: also does so little, like it uses everything perfectly to
- 47:38Speaker 3: really kneel what it's trying to do at the end
- 47:41Speaker 3: of the day, which is, hey, okay, we know that
- 47:45Speaker 3: we're the second episode. Basically we know we have time,
- 47:51Speaker 3: but we're still going to make this worth your time
- 47:54Speaker 3: to watch it now versus later. Yeah, and I just
- 47:58Speaker 3: love this of Tito. I love the hidden ship in
- 48:07Speaker 3: the asteroid field. Also, I always think that's the the
- 48:13Speaker 3: hidden ship in the asteroid.
- 48:14Speaker 2: Like, yeah, yeah, and I love I thought you were
- 48:19Speaker 2: talking about an easter I was like, what.
- 48:21Speaker 3: I'm sorry. I also loved that they taught they basically
- 48:32Speaker 3: tossed Kara out into space. I kind of felt like
- 48:35Speaker 3: that was a nod to the haters of uh leyah
- 48:39Speaker 3: floating in space. Even though technically Kara has a helmet
- 48:43Speaker 3: and like a spacesuit esque thing in the Star Wars
- 48:46Speaker 3: fantasy thing that production I g is doing. I still
- 48:50Speaker 3: liked that they did that just because it's like, yeah, yeah,
- 48:55Speaker 3: we know what you said, but we're gonna do it anyways.
- 49:00Speaker 3: The hidden ship in the asteroid field, I think I
- 49:03Speaker 3: feel like that is an underutilized concept for Star Wars.
- 49:08Speaker 3: We have so many asteroid fields where we have a
- 49:11Speaker 3: lot of people who don't want to go into said
- 49:13Speaker 3: asteroid fields. Uh, you can't tell me that there's not
- 49:17Speaker 3: another ship out there somewhere that's been there for thousands
- 49:20Speaker 3: of years. And I think that this was super cool
- 49:23Speaker 3: to do, and I hope like we've had it with
- 49:27Speaker 3: Young Jedi Adventures with the Pirate Ship, but we need
- 49:34Speaker 3: to include this somewhere else too. And I know, like
- 49:36Speaker 3: kind of Skeleton Crew has done it a little bit,
- 49:39Speaker 3: but not as like, not in the same vibes.
- 49:42Speaker 2: Yeah, so very true. Yeah, Now it brings us to
- 49:48Speaker 2: our number one, my number one being the Song of
- 49:56Speaker 2: Four Wings. Now, Katie, there is an entire genre of
- 50:03Speaker 2: anime named magical transformation or oh crap, I just freaking
- 50:15Speaker 2: lost it word salad, Jesus Christ, word vomit. Magical girl
- 50:22Speaker 2: transformation that is like an actual genre of anime. Okay,
- 50:28Speaker 2: of course you have sailor Moon, you have a whole
- 50:33Speaker 2: bunch of of course overseas anime that does it. But
- 50:38Speaker 2: even us here Westerners have also copied the concept. You
- 50:45Speaker 2: have seen like teen Titans, Go do this. You've seen
- 50:51Speaker 2: You've probably seen the cartoon Totally Spies that has a
- 50:56Speaker 2: magical girl transformation. It's a cartoon, network show or a cartoon.
- 51:00Speaker 3: They were too scantily clad for my mother.
- 51:03Speaker 2: Ah, totally get that there. But it is a popular
- 51:08Speaker 2: genre of animation that has been copied over and over
- 51:13Speaker 2: and over again. The fact that our main character gets
- 51:21Speaker 2: blown off of her speeder and her droid uh tour
- 51:28Speaker 2: two is also blown off the speeder and she says
- 51:34Speaker 2: tor two armor mode. I immediately like again donating plasma.
- 51:39Speaker 2: I have to be careful. There's a needle in my arm.
- 51:42Speaker 2: Like start to get all giddy and like super excited,
- 51:47Speaker 2: and she turns into an X Wing Like, I was
- 51:53Speaker 2: so excited. This was so cool. I love the animation
- 51:59Speaker 2: for the uh and I'm sorry Grogu who I'm sorry,
- 52:09Speaker 2: whoop Us is now the greatest like young Jedi Padawan
- 52:15Speaker 2: force user, because not only can you create or agami,
- 52:21Speaker 2: but you know how to throw a thermal detonator Like
- 52:26Speaker 2: it was so cool. By the way, I think more people,
- 52:33Speaker 2: even in current like Cannon Star Wars, should not be
- 52:41Speaker 2: afraid to adapt designs of ships and like Imperial Walkers
- 52:54Speaker 2: because the fact that we see the at eight with
- 52:58Speaker 2: freaking arms protrude out with all these guns again another
- 53:05Speaker 2: jaw dropping moment where I was like, oh my god,
- 53:07Speaker 2: that looks so cool, Like this was a very cool episode.
- 53:15Speaker 2: And again the fact that our main character literally got
- 53:19Speaker 2: to fly like an X wing super cool. Absolutely loved it.
- 53:23Speaker 2: This is my number one, So yeah, I'm already aware
- 53:28Speaker 2: of what your number one is. Well, go ahead and
- 53:30Speaker 2: talk about.
- 53:32Speaker 3: So Bounty Hunters is my number one. I laughed so
- 53:39Speaker 3: hard at Eva. I loved the dual personality droid. I
- 53:45Speaker 3: think we've kind of talked about it some with Master
- 53:49Speaker 3: of Evil. I love when a droid can do multiple
- 53:51Speaker 3: personalities like it just is super awesome. So Eva made
- 54:01Speaker 3: this for me, But I also really love Seven. I
- 54:05Speaker 3: love her as a character. I feel like she has
- 54:11Speaker 3: kind of the trauma that a lot of studios are
- 54:14Speaker 3: trying to give female characters right now, but that she's
- 54:18Speaker 3: made something of it and has kind of built something
- 54:21Speaker 3: on her own. And like you said, they kind of
- 54:23Speaker 3: left this one open at the end for like, hey,
- 54:28Speaker 3: what do you think could happen next? And I'd love
- 54:31Speaker 3: to see what would happen next. I love Seven and
- 54:34Speaker 3: I want to know more about her. I love the flashback.
- 54:41Speaker 3: And then we finished the flashback, we change how it
- 54:45Speaker 3: looks kind of to the eye of the Beholder later on,
- 54:50Speaker 3: Like that made the episode for me, getting to that
- 54:53Speaker 3: point where we go, hey, like the Jedi did something
- 54:59Speaker 3: good for you here, and I I know like Visions
- 55:01Speaker 3: has kind of turned on its head, like, hey, you
- 55:05Speaker 3: could be a Jedi for the good. But also like
- 55:08Speaker 3: in the duel, for instance, the Jedi are the bad guys.
- 55:11Speaker 3: So and ultimately yes, is it all about balance, Yes,
- 55:17Speaker 3: But at the end of the day, I think we
- 55:19Speaker 3: all want the good guys to win and we all
- 55:21Speaker 3: want to know that the Jedi are the good guys
- 55:24Speaker 3: at heart.
- 55:25Speaker 2: Yes, But one thing that we have learned to really
- 55:29Speaker 2: understand here on Star Wars Alliance is that it's all
- 55:32Speaker 2: about perspective. It's from a certain point of view is
- 55:37Speaker 2: the biggest thing here. And I do like that. In
- 55:42Speaker 2: the beginning, you even said it. The flashback is portrayed
- 55:46Speaker 2: as like, there is somebody with a green lightsaber and
- 55:50Speaker 2: they look like they're slaughtering people. What the hell is
- 55:53Speaker 2: going on? That was what my first thought whenever you
- 55:58Speaker 2: see this first flashback, and then when you see in
- 56:02Speaker 2: true context what it is at the very end, I'm like, ah,
- 56:09Speaker 2: that's clever. I like that. Yeah. And even when you
- 56:13Speaker 2: hear Seven in the episode with like, oh, I can't
- 56:19Speaker 2: wait to find that Jedi again and give her a
- 56:20Speaker 2: piece of my mind, Like you're like, oh, so like
- 56:25Speaker 2: does like cause it? It still makes you question, like, yeah,
- 56:29Speaker 2: there's a little bit of a smirk at the end
- 56:31Speaker 2: of that of that sentence. Are you saying it in
- 56:33Speaker 2: a good way or a bad way? You know?
- 56:35Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 56:36Speaker 2: So I really enjoy that.
- 56:40Speaker 3: Definitely my favorite. Definitely more I would like to see
- 56:44Speaker 3: of this concept. In fact, if I'm not going to
- 56:48Speaker 3: see more of it, I'd love to read a novel. Yes,
- 56:52Speaker 3: I think this would be a next Great Visions novel.
- 56:56Speaker 2: When I am looking at my list, because I was
- 56:58Speaker 2: literally about to ask you the same question out of
- 57:02Speaker 2: our ranking, what would you like to see in a novel?
- 57:07Speaker 2: And truly, I think this has kind of the best
- 57:13Speaker 2: hope for a novel because there's so much sense that
- 57:18Speaker 2: there's so much stuff that has already been established. Mm hmmm,
- 57:23Speaker 2: like you have this may this other like billionaire type
- 57:29Speaker 2: of like corporation that is like the center point. You're like, okay,
- 57:34Speaker 2: so you're kind of playing along with that. Of course
- 57:37Speaker 2: with slavers, like I think that was very obvious from
- 57:40Speaker 2: the very beginning, as soon as you introduce the what
- 57:44Speaker 2: is revealed to be a slave, you see her and
- 57:46Speaker 2: you're like, oh, that's a slave. It's very obvious. Yeah,
- 57:52Speaker 2: but then of course they play along with it. I
- 57:54Speaker 2: I think this would be a very fun novel. Not
- 57:59Speaker 2: only a really fun novel, I think this would be
- 58:00Speaker 2: a very fun audiobook as well.
- 58:04Speaker 3: Yeah, the comedian guy come back and do all the voices.
- 58:10Speaker 2: That would be so good. Actually, so he could so
- 58:13Speaker 2: he could do the alternative voices. Well, there there is
- 58:18Speaker 2: a little something that kind of spoils the fact that
- 58:20Speaker 2: he doesn't have an alternative voice, but you know, uh
- 58:24Speaker 2: yeah no, but still I think they would be very,
- 58:27Speaker 2: very fun. So, yeah, that is our rankings for volume.
- 58:33Speaker 3: Coming in right under the hour mark.
- 58:35Speaker 2: We did it, Yeah, we did it under an hour. Again.
- 58:38Speaker 2: We will be going back and talking about each one
- 58:41Speaker 2: of these episodes in greater depth. Now we are doing
- 58:45Speaker 2: it in threes. We're doing I think the way that
- 58:49Speaker 2: our planning has it.
- 58:52Speaker 3: Yeah, so we're doing the fifth, the twelfth, or I'm sorry,
- 58:56Speaker 3: We're doing live episodes on the fifth and then nineteenth,
- 59:01Speaker 3: and then we will have a pre recorded episode to
- 59:04Speaker 3: go live on Thanksgiving because obviously we're not recording the
- 59:07Speaker 3: day before Thanksgiving. Guys, I am having a heardie of
- 59:13Speaker 3: repair on the seventh, so we're not going to be recording.
- 59:16Speaker 3: On the twelfth, you guys will get to hear the
- 59:19Speaker 3: first episode of our Patreon exclusive show that we have
- 59:23Speaker 3: going on right now, where we are going through the
- 59:26Speaker 3: new Jedi Order books. So our review of Vector Prime
- 59:31Speaker 3: will be up on the twelfth for everyone next week,
- 59:37Speaker 3: in along along with the three episodes we will be covering,
- 59:41Speaker 3: which I'm thinking probably we're gonna be covering the song
- 59:44Speaker 3: The fore Wings the Bounty Hunters because those were our
- 59:48Speaker 3: two number ones, and will probably include Black in there,
- 59:52Speaker 3: just because I don't think we'll have a lot to
- 59:54Speaker 3: see just to get it over the way and that
- 59:59Speaker 3: way we could say we didn't spend the rest of
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: the time on that and then guys, we've had more
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: hunt for Ben Solo things kind of dropping and where
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: that's at. So we'll talk more about that campaign next
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: week as well.
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: Which, by the way, that is legitimately going to be
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: my Halloween costume. Officially, I am going to be a
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: wanted poster for Missing Kylo Renn. I made the decision today.
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: You're gonna make a hanging Chad.
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: Yeah. I'm literally gonna just put it right there. So
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: it's gonna be so fun. Guys, remember we do have
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: an Instagram account as well as a Threads and a
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: blue Sky account, so please go follow us on social media.
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: I put all of our links to each and every
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: episode in our stories when they are released, as well
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: as of course pushing out some more content. I am
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: really close to finally being able to say what I've
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: been working on for the past two months and the
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: reason why content has been kind of fluctuating throughout all
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: the socials, but along with topers as we finally got
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: a cooking timer, and we are giving her trauma while
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: doing all this because she hears that. She hears that timer,
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: and it scares the absolute shit out of her every
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: single time.
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: She like jumps.
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: My dog hates it. My dog even like stares it down,
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: like because you can hear. It's an old school kitchen timer,
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: so you can hear the of the actual timer. So
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: my dog just like stares at it and he's waiting.
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: He's literally waiting for it to go off, just to
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: bark at it. And I'm like, dude, you can just
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: oh about your life. You can live, relax, do whatever.
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: But as soon as it goes off, both Amberln and
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: Flynn just go nuts for like a split second. And
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: I'm like, okay, guys, we can go back to normal,
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: go to the potty, you lay down. Everything's fine. But
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: we are getting progress. It is progress is being made.
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: So I feel like a very proud parent, not so
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: proud of what happened today. In the car she threw
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: a plastic bottle at my head. So yeah, it's like
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: one of those I don't of course, I think, of course,
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: Mara is too young to have these, but they are
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: a little juice like with the characters, yes, the characters
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: at the very top. Thankfully it was empty, but she
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: threw it and the character part hit me square in
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: the back of the head while Abby was driving.
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: At least she didn't throw it at Abby.
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: I guess that is true. True. Not not gonna, you know,
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: say that, that's the thing. But when she did it,
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: I like, oh, I had like a knee jerk reaction.
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: I'm like, hold on, she's my child. I need to
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: calm down. Uh, but like I'm probably gonna get canceled
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: for this. When we finally got home into the parking
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: lot of our apartment, we sat down and we talked
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: to her. I was still in the front seat, she
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: was still in our car seat, and she was not
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: fully getting it because we were like telling her, like, hey,
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: should you be throwing things? And she's like yeah, because
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: you told me no, blah blah blah. And I was
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: like fine, And so I grabbed the bottle and I
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: threw it at her head again, not forcefully, not hard,
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: I just like tossed it to her head. It bomped
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: her in the forehead and like she put both hands
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: and then like looked at me like all mad, and
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: I was like, did that hurt She's like yes. I
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: was like, do you think when you threw it at
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: me it hurt me? She's like yeah. I was like, okay,
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: so we don't hurt people. We're learning lessons here.
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: It's a good lesson because like I was putting Mara
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: in the car and I was a little frantic in everything,
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: and so I smacked her head on the top of
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: the door and I get her in the seat and
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: she goes, al, that.
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: Won't be the last time you do that, because me
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: and Abby do it all the time, and Amber Lid
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: will just look at me and her every single time
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: she does the exact same thing. We hit her head
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: on the floor, We say sorry, and then she looks
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: at us for a very long time and goes, OW, I.
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: Don't even know where she learned ow, Like, where did
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: that happen?
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: It's so great? Uh? But yeah, guys, Uh, of course
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: you can find me on any and all social media
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: that we have. Our Instagram are our show Star Wars Alliance.
