  SPEAKER_03: So we're gonna start with our only independent team and our only undefeated team, Desert Christian Academy.

  SPEAKER_03: Desert Mirage made a comeback, forced overtime, and then uh in overtime, Indio stopped him, stopped uh Desert Mirage on a two-point conversion to take the win.

  SPEAKER_03: Cathedral City was battling at the half, it was a pretty close game, and then I think at the end, 29 Palms kind of pulled away in the fourth quarter and scored a couple touchdowns to kind of put it out of reach.

  SPEAKER_03: And that was kind of our theme last week is that 29 palms may be peaking at the right time offensively.

  SPEAKER_01: Some teams are peaking really early and then they start to fall off towards the season, and then some that have struggled early are starting to peak at the right time.

  SPEAKER_01: So obviously I want to peek all the way through, but you know, it it seems to be something to keep an eye on.

  SPEAKER_01: I mean, we we we saw it early how good the defense was.

  SPEAKER_01: Um, and it sounds like they're even getting they got some you know, guys back, and man, they they're humming on all cylinders.

  SPEAKER_01: And and man, it it it was pretty impressive to to allow Coachella Valley zero points in the game.

  SPEAKER_01: I mean, that's a high powered offense, and I think that's just a testament and how well coached DHS is and how well um you're playing.

  SPEAKER_01: You want your defense playing like that, and they they look tremendous.

  SPEAKER_01: I thought they did, I thought they did a really good job.

  SPEAKER_01: I mean, they're looking like the favorite to me if I got to choose one right now.

  SPEAKER_03: But I know it's early in league, but I think I think yeah, and they and another guy is chief, Palafea coming back.

  SPEAKER_01: I I spent uh a large part of the game just watching him.

  SPEAKER_01: He plays on both sides of the ball, man, and he he's just a big force.

  SPEAKER_01: He knows how to get guys and chuck them, and um he's getting pressure when he's on defense and on offense, man.

  SPEAKER_01: I don't know, like uh, you know, you you probably know his story where he came from more, but to me, whoever like coached him up did a really good job because his his technique is good on both sides of the ball.

  SPEAKER_03: Like Palm Desert would have him pinned up on a rush and two guys in his face, he would just make a quick move, get out the way, find uh Woodson or Reef or somebody open down the field.

  SPEAKER_01: I thought he did play a great job getting out of the pocket and extending it, making it a long play, and all of a sudden coverage would break down, he'd find an open guy.

  SPEAKER_03: And um I think for the rest of the year, anybody put playing Shadow Hills has got to account for Walls being at quarter, but he just changes the game with his athleticism and his speed back there.

  SPEAKER_03: So that that's gonna he's gonna be a problem for the different dynamics right there.

  SPEAKER_03: And then on the other side of the Shadow Hill side, they had Zay uh Woodson uh just making play after play.

  SPEAKER_03: And he'd been doing that all year, but he's the one that really put the nail in the coffin.

  SPEAKER_03: Corner actually had pretty good coverage, he just wanted me to play, and that was the difference.

  SPEAKER_01: I think he was one of the ones that uh stripped the ball from the quarterback on that long run.

  SPEAKER_03: On that long run, he was yeah, he was the kids making plays everywhere.

  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he's a he should he should be uh people should be looking out for his name for all league and all Desert Sun.

  SPEAKER_03: Shadow Hill's right back in the playoff picture in his DEO, man.

  SPEAKER_03: Crazy, it's crazy to say that, but they are now back in the picture.

  SPEAKER_03: They can win out and make the playoffs, and this is why it's real exciting.

  SPEAKER_01: I I know everybody talks about the the running game from La Quinta or are you know they're known for it.

  SPEAKER_01: Um, but I think right behind them, Rancho Mirage runs the ball just as good as anyone out here.

  SPEAKER_01: Um it's a little trickier, um, a little bit more crafty, but their O-line does such a good job.

  SPEAKER_01: Um so it I know Xavier was trending up, but it doesn't surprise me that Rancho Mirage got that win.

  SPEAKER_01: It doesn't surprise me, and and I'm I'm kind of glad that you know Coach Matthew finally gets that W in league.

  SPEAKER_03: So I was at this game, it was a tail of two hacks.

  SPEAKER_03: Okay, so um Xavier comes out looking really good on offense.

  SPEAKER_03: Um, more Moor Hess was finding his open receivers.

  SPEAKER_03: Uh the Rattlers were having a little bit of trouble with that passing offense.

  SPEAKER_03: They were kind of getting whatever they wanted in the past game.

  SPEAKER_03: Um, but then they kind of made some adjustments and slowed him down.
