- 3:20worry about that then in the middle in the break.
- 3:23Yeah but yeah so welcome please tell us about yourself man.
- 3:29Thank you. So I'll start, I'll start it off
- 3:31man. Okay everybody, my name is Big C
- 3:34man. CEO the head man of Secrets,
- 3:37wizard records man originated out of Salina, Kansas 15 years
- 3:41ago. You know it's 15 years ago.
- 3:45That's wild that crazy. That's crazy and you've been
- 3:48doing that just still going. Still going man been never once
- 3:52questioned. Never stopping.
- 3:54Mmm. Yeah that's good right there
- 3:57passion. That's passion right there.
- 3:59Oh yeah. Yeah, the the rock is sick and
- 4:03twisted right there. See and then I'm Pachuca course.
- 4:08I'm the vice president is to go to the records.
- 4:10The first lady, you know, also known as hypnotic says, the pit
- 4:22bull of the hip hop industry here right in Kansas.
- 4:25She gets after it, man. Yes.
- 4:27Yeah. I any time that we've ever,
- 4:30Thrown event, you know, and sponsored and you know, shared
- 4:36committees and stuff like that. Like the artist getting like if
- 4:41they have any issues whatsoever, doesn't matter if it's tough.
- 4:44The, you know, the flights or if it's a hotel trying to rip them
- 4:48off or whatever. Best believe I get, I get my
- 4:51people their money. Yeah.
- 4:53Look at you. Every man, when I say the first
- 5:01lady, man, I mean, I mean that, like, in Salina there was
- 5:04another female rappers doing it back in two thousand, six,
- 5:08seven, eight. Yeah, she was only like 15 years
- 5:10old with, oh, shit with a bunch of my older homies.
- 5:13Yeah. Yeah, you're a 15 when you
- 5:14started just wrap it. Yeah.
- 5:17Yeah. Performed live for the first
- 5:20time. I 16 I professionally recorded
- 5:23for the first time at like 10 years old at Studio 11 17.
- 5:27Oh shit. Just with the Salina.
- 5:30Ian's choir. Wow.
- 5:32We just been doing it since we were kids.
- 5:35You know composing music at 8th grade composing, my own sheet
- 5:38music. That's awesome.
- 5:40Play the piano, you fail. Legit.
- 5:42Look at look where the piano the trumpet.
- 5:44The French horn. Yes.
- 6:00She's definitely the rock to sick and twisted jams.
- 6:03The business side of things, she had to learn it.
- 6:06We kind of threw it on her at a young age, you know.
- 6:08So she's done very well for yourself, man.
- 6:11I'm very proud of my sister now. I think it's yours your
- 6:13siblings, right? Yeah.
- 6:15But I just want everybody know that y'all sibling.
- 6:18Anything. That is crazy because, you know,
- 6:20a lot of siblings they don't do things together.
- 6:22Sometimes, you know, they'll just be like, you know, you do
- 6:24your own thing every sip sibling have their own different.
- 6:28What I say. Like different Groups, no, not
- 6:31Frank, maybe friend groups but like, you know, they have their
- 6:34own personality different personality, you know, but you
- 6:36guys have something in common and that's that's really good
- 6:40because you guys keep it together in the family.
- 6:42You're like, you know, I got, I know, I have your back, you have
- 6:45my back because we're blood, you know, offer it.
- 6:48Yeah, that's good. I like that.
- 6:49It's all about family, man, family.
- 6:53First-ever second or third. Yeah, yeah, that's true.
- 6:56That's true. So you guys had mentioned that
- 7:00From Lena and so aside from is it only you two we want to hear
- 7:04it. Can you like set that set the
- 7:06ground for us? Tell us like a little bit about
- 7:09how you guys grew up what music, you guys grew up listening to
- 7:12and what ends up getting you into music and then we'll go
- 7:16from there. What about yoga?
- 7:18Well, our dad was a musician. So, my dad, you know, grew up
- 7:25doing a drum and bugle, Corps. I don't know if you guys have
- 7:27ever heard of the, the sky riders, but my dad.
- 7:30It was a member of the sky riders drum and bugle Corps from
- 7:32Hutchinson Kansas. Okay?
- 7:33And they do reunions every year now, because obviously they're
- 7:38disbanded. Yeah, they were one of the
- 7:41biggest powerhouses in the nation when it came to drum and
- 7:44bugle, Corps marching course style marching.
- 7:47So, my, my dad also, just like he's singing acapella all the
- 7:53time, the songs off the radio. Like, he didn't have the
- 7:57Walkman, he didn't walk around with a CD player.
- 7:59I mean, this man, Over here. Make drum beats on his on his
- 8:02lap while he was waiting for my brother.
- 8:04Do warm-ups all the soccer game music definitely?
- 8:09Excuse me, music definitely was a was a big, was big in my
- 8:14household. I mean, from from Little Joe,
- 8:17you know, Tex-Mex type stuff. Yeah.
- 8:19To bond us, you know to, you know, Tigres del Norte.
- 8:24I mean, all that type of stuff man to Motown to, you know, I
- 8:28love that. I love that.
- 8:29Yeah. It was a broad variety of music
- 8:32that yeah. Music, you know, my mom's a
- 8:34country girl two-man race in Kansas.
- 8:37And yeah, but you know, like if you turn on music of some
- 8:40country music, you see big see right there.
- 8:42You wouldn't even think that. Yeah, he would know some people
- 8:45McIntyre something, some bring you back back.
- 9:00That's good. That's good.
- 9:01Even like even like your parents were in love with me as I can
- 9:04you get there like you know we want to show you what what music
- 9:09can do for you guys to as well. And that's a good thing I like
- 9:12that. Yeah.
- 9:13Yeah. They were very encouraging.
- 9:14I mean like, you know, when I started to inquire just in grade
- 9:18school, we certainly going to Sacred Heart, Cathedral grade
- 9:21school is where we went to school in like we had to do
- 9:24music contest and they made you participate, even if you didn't
- 9:28like music but But even then, even then like that's just where
- 9:32we found out that we were extremely talented because we
- 9:35didn't I mean we didn't you don't you don't hear yourself
- 9:39the same way other people hear you right?
- 9:41You know, and I got nothing but the top ratings, you know, as a
- 9:46young child and then at contests and then gain my confidence to
- 9:51take solos and things like that and and kept getting nothing,
- 9:54but the top ratings and then, of course, big see, you know, he's
- 9:58over here, starring as A great leading roles and stuff and
- 10:02amateur Productions. Great.
- 10:05So you guys were nerdy, I'm a, I'm a man.
- 10:09I'm a man of many talents. That's right.
- 10:11So people man. Yeah, you know, again music was
- 10:16a big, fluence. When we were young, man and I
- 10:18know for me, it saved my life in many ways.
- 10:20Yeah, straight up. You know, because, you know,
- 10:22when I was younger, man, I struggle with like my identity.
- 10:25Mmm, yummy. Because we grew up, we were in
- 10:28Virginia, for a little bit and then We moved to Kansas to Hutch
- 10:31and then we moved to Salina and like, didn't know anybody?
- 10:35Yeah, uprooted from Hutch. It's Celina and was just in a
- 10:38whole different place. You know?
- 10:39Didn't know. It's a music really dig, you
- 10:42know, I mean, like, get you out of like a dark place at a young
- 10:44age. Yeah.
- 10:45Same mental health issues like all these things, you know,
- 10:47music was just like that outlet. Yeah, you know, it was crazy man
- 10:51because like as misaligned of like the order we got the more
- 10:55we got active in the streets. No more, you know as I'm
- 10:59struggling with my identity. At a young age, you know what I
- 11:02mean? Like, sorry to get in the game.
- 11:04Banging. You know, I mean really being
- 11:06more cultured. You know I mean like in a lot of
- 11:09different ways. So like again music was was was
- 11:12part of that. Yeah.
- 11:14Music. Helped you?
- 11:15Yeah, Mike. It was like an expression for
- 11:18you to figure out who you were wanting to be and so maybe you
- 11:22got to put on a certain Persona, one moment and then you got to
- 11:26experience that and go. Maybe I want to be this Persona
- 11:28today, you know. And it's all Alchemy to.
- 11:31Yeah, that's the crazy thing that like, the older I got, the
- 11:33more, I realize the gift I had, you know what I mean?
- 11:36Like, I knew what I didn't really know what it was doing
- 11:38for me at the time necessarily and shaping me to be where I'm
- 11:42at now, but it's crazy. But back at it like dang.
- 11:45Yeah. If you have a gift, use it.
- 11:48Yeah. He's it's because you never
- 11:50know, you might use like if men we had some of the best teachers
- 11:54to out there man, like our band teacher and grade school was I
- 11:58mean he was He was he was hip, he was with it and then and then
- 12:04when we got into post going switch, that was scary because
- 12:08like, it's a whole nother different world from private
- 12:11school to post-school. Yeah and then in the name of it,
- 12:15then our music, our band teacher in high school.
- 12:18Mr. Rohr was like another dad to me, I mean if I got arrested and
- 12:22I was in handcuffs, I was walking down the hallway to tell
- 12:24him I'm sorry, I can't do my Solo in this concert tonight.
- 12:28I have to give it to the second chair French Horn players and
- 12:30she's not lying me because you know like growing up in high
- 12:39school, getting the game being the stuff like that, like a
- 12:41music teacher would always be in my ear like my freshman and
- 12:44sophomore year being like hey what are you doing?
- 12:47Homie? Like yeah, you're fucking up.
- 12:50Yeah, you know, I get him band. I know, you know, you can do it
- 12:53and I know you got talent. Yeah, the trouble is so like my
- 12:56junior senior year, I started doing that more, you know.
- 12:59I mean I High school athletes who you know mean I was a stud
- 13:04you know yeah Allstate all regions goalkeeper oh shit I
- 13:12can't even go half the field. So I'm originally from Dodge
- 13:23City Kansas, you know we had those leagues lie guys and
- 13:29everything. Nothing like that.
- 13:31So I'll be I'll be like, the only Asian in the Mexican team
- 13:44like something. And like I remember I was in my
- 13:48coach, only spoke Spanish and I was like, okay, well, I'll be
- 13:53like, I'll just play how I always play, Then he be like
- 13:56just do whatever you doing and I'm okay.
- 14:00Being in likes playing in Spain or playing?
- 14:02Yeah, that's true yeah, I'll yeah yeah Big C.
- 14:06Play it on the league. Has he played in the in the like
- 14:09and or here in Wichita today and the indoor soccer complex here?
- 14:12Yeah, it was played in London all year round.
- 14:15It's you go. It just United soccer camp.
- 14:19Look at you. I'm telling you I'm being of.
- 14:22Do you miss it? Sometimes I do.
- 14:24I'm actually I'm training from my last hurrah.
- 14:27Okay right now man. I'm trying to make a little cut.
- 14:30Um back man, I'm trying to play, you know, like some some indoor
- 14:32something here in Wichita, probably get on the team or
- 14:35something like the there's like a sports when passports Zone
- 14:39over there. Yeah, yeah.
- 15:00Are you good, man? This right here, man.
- 15:01Again, cheers. And you guys.
- 15:03Yeah, yeah, yeah. We're big soccer fans to as
- 15:08well. I'm sorry about my son.
- 15:10Let me just tell you guys. Okay, so my brother, he's 16
- 15:12years old, have been playing. He was five years old, and
- 15:16badass, soccer player he's in What's called the hearing which
- 15:20child is called sporting Wichita here.
- 15:22You know, how they're Sporting KC + facilitated with Sporting
- 15:26KC and the sporting Wichita, so he is The traveling team so we
- 15:31like go around all I can fucking see Lois.
- 15:34Sometimes we go to Nebraska like all those tournaments.
- 15:38Well, those traveling tournament was he?
- 15:40Yeah, there's soda Texas. Yeah, they're crazy.
- 15:43Yeah. And it's crazy because like I
- 15:46keep this kid so busy, he plays High School soccer and he was a
- 15:50freshman. I moved him here when he was a
- 15:51freshman here and he got Varsity right away.
- 15:55There you go. And he's been Varsity ever since
- 15:57and for him after high school's over Go straight to Club.
- 16:01Feels like all year round. That's awesome.
- 16:03That's how I was. Yeah.
- 16:04And then then homeboy want to try tennis and I was like, oh my
- 16:08God. Yeah I could get myself to do
- 16:10it. Yeah.
- 16:11But anyways, any about that. But yeah, I love it.
- 16:14So you were all American, right? Yeah man, I play.
- 16:17I was like you said it was starter freshman.
- 16:19Yeah, I'll team first team All-State.
- 16:21That's crazy. Wait three years of college
- 16:23soccer I played at Allen County Community College for two years
- 16:27and then I transferred to Kansas Wesleyan University.
- 16:30Yeah, and Salina and then I start acting a fool.
- 16:34You don't say, it's got back home from college and just kick
- 16:38it with the homies again. But then I again found the past
- 16:41for the music again, man. That's great.
- 16:43As long as long as you keep passionate about what you do,
- 16:46what you love to do matter what matter, what was there.
- 16:50So kind of tell us a little bit about that the music part like
- 16:53you, you got, you expect, you also did really, really well in
- 16:57soccer. I mean, you went and played over
- 16:58in London. That's, that's really big.
- 17:00Really, I just like glossed over that you're like, oh yeah, I
- 17:03went over there anyways. Next big deal.
- 17:08No, big deal with Manchester United.
- 17:22So we know that you guys are rappers and, you know, we had
- 17:27smokes last time but then we were thinking we're like, Like
- 17:30you know what? We never like made him or others
- 17:33really Define. What you got to wrap it.
- 17:36Yeah so we wanted to hear from you guys like cuz you guys maybe
- 17:40you guys are so don't love it. You know that wraps.
- 17:45Yeah. Okay.
- 17:46Okay. That for be sums it up because a
- 17:48lot of people want to make it difficult.
- 17:49Like what is Chicano rap? What is this genre culture or to
- 17:53hip-hop? You know, it's the same the
- 17:57talent is just as good as if you were at Can American or black,
- 18:01or Asian Chino or something like that spitting, some bars, man,
- 18:05we're just, she got was a trap, you know what I mean?
- 18:07But, you know, kids, like a lot of people would say.
- 18:10Chicano rap is gangster rap, it's you know, it's cholo Rapids
- 18:14that southsider rapid that, you know.
- 18:17I mean that's that's not what it is at all, man.
- 18:19It's it's just you know, those are just Southsiders.
- 18:22I rap. Yeah.
- 18:23You know, a trap. That's what about you about
- 18:28yoga. You know, I would, I would say I
- 18:33probably back at the beginning, right?
- 18:37It with with like, Kid Frost and are shaded, you know, if you if
- 18:45you really listen to like their lyrical Styles, they were just
- 18:53doing the same type of West Coast Steelo as like Tupac or
- 18:58anybody else. And I believe I should have
- 19:00brought has shown up to positive.
- 19:02They just had a lot of a lot of shit to say, you know?
- 19:04I mean I think you kind of wrap is again some difference just
- 19:06Chicanos. I have a voice and were, you
- 19:11know, a lot of people again want to say it's gang.
- 19:13Like gangster rap. No, it's not it.
- 19:15There's so much more. Yeah, you know, I mean, it's
- 19:19showing that our people have a voice that we can use it, we're
- 19:23capable of using it. Yeah, you know, Spanish in
- 19:25English? Yeah, I like that.
- 19:27And I know when we first came out with when we first Arted,
- 19:30you know, we were actively banging.
- 19:33So, I mean, a lot of our music had to deal with that kind of
- 19:37stuff dark or like we had, you know, just some some local
- 19:42rappers that were beefing with us or whatever to so, you know,
- 19:48we kind of just we use the music as the outlet.
- 19:50You know what I mean to talk about what we were going through
- 19:53but they also the Injustice is that, we were dealing with, as
- 19:56well. Yeah, because there was, there
- 19:58was, there was gang beef. But there was also racial
- 20:01tension going and there were a lot of it was being was being
- 20:05created by like the newspaper and the media and stuff and
- 20:09turning it into something that it wasn't, you know what I mean?
- 20:11So then we all had to start going dead like City Council
- 20:14meetings and stuff and piping up and actually talking.
- 20:16And I believe, I mean, I want one of those City Council
- 20:19meetings was on YouTube. Yeah, we were listening to one
- 20:22of the songs that it seemed like you guys were doing, like a road
- 20:26test. Oh yeah.
- 20:52from the other side and we just and we and we made a
- 20:55long-lasting truce there but it and They just kind of realized,
- 21:01you know what, we're all dealing with the same BS.
- 21:04Yeah. On on both sides and our kids
- 21:07are all being treated like like their education, don't matter.
- 21:12Yeah. You know what I mean?
- 21:14And and so we all banded together.
- 21:16So we made the real ones. Roll call King Main you know he
- 21:20grew up, he grew up with us too and so in that in and everyone's
- 21:23role called it the the park that we shoot in.
- 21:26Yeah. That was the home of one of the
- 21:29biggest It's brawls that the Salina Kansas has ever seen.
- 21:32There was over, at least 100 people getting down in that park
- 21:35at one time. Oh shit.
- 21:36And it really was a racial bro member back in the day when even
- 21:40in the city they have that too as well.
- 21:42Because also you have a brawls. Has a lot of balls as well.
- 21:46Yeah. Yeah.
- 21:49There was a time when it was like, it was really bad.
- 21:52Yeah. It was it was bad, man.
- 21:54You know, I mean in like again to bring it back to the music,
- 21:58you know? Music helped like bring people
- 22:02together. Yeah.
- 22:03When we were out there game being and you know, I mean
- 22:05that's one common thing that like, you know, because it's
- 22:08line it was geez. And then there was three I say,
- 22:10you know, I mean, I'm not gonna get into much of it but, you
- 22:15know, like there was a lot of shit that was going on and the
- 22:18music just brought us all together, man, that's good, you
- 22:21know, to me, like, you got rival, people create music and
- 22:24yeah, yeah. I mean, I like, you know,
- 22:26breaking Doing features together.
- 22:28Yeah. And bring in Britain breaking
- 22:30those those those chains of ignorance that that that the
- 22:36that the prior I guess older generation had started feeding
- 22:40us and spewing us lies and I'm saying and then like right there
- 22:44you know like in that scene we're in the north side, we're
- 22:48in the north side of Salina which was the complete opposite
- 22:52side of which we represented back in the day.
- 22:55Yeah. And I was a soup kitchen.
- 22:57Ian actually, you know where we shot at and then of course like
- 23:02you know the stifel theater is just you know was like the place
- 23:06we always wanted to perform at, you know, growing up and it was
- 23:09stable, but it was actually like the first place I ever did a
- 23:14front of 300 people. Perform a solo at the age of
- 23:18like 9 years old, then to the Broadway musical The Wiz oh
- 23:22shit. And then you know it just there
- 23:26and Hutch that's the sea. Red's Memorial there that they
- 23:28had just put up during 2020, you know, at that time I just right
- 23:35before we shot this music video, I believe I had spoke at the
- 23:38BlackMart lives matter protest and and and spoke about us
- 23:45coming together and I was even went live.
- 23:48In, was talking to the homies in Cali who are all protesting at
- 23:51the time in the streets, for the Kids On the Border in the in the
- 23:56kids in Has and stuff. And so I was just, you know,
- 24:00opening up the eyes to the fact that Kansas has always been a
- 24:04huge supporter of you know equality.
- 24:08Yeah. Believe it or not, it goes back
- 24:10down to Brown versus Board anyway, brought that up.
- 24:13Oh yeah at that protest talking about that.
- 24:16And also bringing up the fact that Hutchison Kansas was the
- 24:20home of the first Hispanic female mayor in the midwest,
- 24:25which is Francis J Garcia our grandmother.
- 24:27Uh-huh. Wait.
- 24:29Oh really? Yeah shit, yeah.
- 24:31She's she was pret. Yeah, she was present at the
- 24:33protest and talk to the newspaper people and explain to
- 24:38him who I was and everything. When I was there speaking and
- 24:40all that, and shortly after that, you know, that we had to,
- 24:47we had a bunch of Investments that went, you know, stagnant
- 24:51because of covid shutdowns. Yeah, we had shows music
- 24:55conferences and stuff that we had invested in performers that
- 24:58we had paid and stuff to perform but had no place for them to
- 25:02perform at. So we band together with the
- 25:06National Night Out committee who was just as rambunctious as us
- 25:10both like not wanting to stay inside.
- 25:15They decided that they were going to partner with us and we
- 25:19were going to use a performance that we had paid key main to do.
- 25:24Plus we had to I had already had this feature with him and we're
- 25:27about To release this song so we decided.
- 25:29Okay, we're going to do this music video.
- 25:31All right, we're going to, we're going to get this together.
- 25:33We're going to release this song on all platforms at a live
- 25:37event. So we partnered indeed Hispanic
- 25:40heritage which would you which I don't know if you guys have seen
- 25:43but a sick and twisted has been hosting Hispanic heritage events
- 25:46across the state of Kansas starting.
- 25:48The first one we did was in Kansas City back in 2000 and was
- 25:53a 2018, bro, believe so. Yeah. 2018.
- 25:57And when we brought criminal and mr.
- 25:59Shadow down to perform together for the first time in the
- 26:01history of the Chicano rap movement was in Kansas City.
- 26:07And I was a, that was us. Who threw that event.
- 26:10Yeah. And that's fucking cool.
- 26:11Yeah, going back to that, right? I mean, like, you were
- 26:16mentioning, you're like I'm just a Chicano that wraps.
- 26:18I'm just such a Cano, that has a voice and I'm just somebody who
- 26:22is using that voice. I mean, like this story right
- 26:25here is an example of all of that, right?
- 26:27You're like, I'm taking my voice.
- 26:29I'm owning my voice, and I'm using my voice to continue to be
- 26:34loud for the people that maybe don't have a lot of your voice.
- 26:37Yeah. Or, who can lease it.
- 26:38Can't stand up to say something, exactly.
- 26:40Like I'll help you to get, get to that point to.
- 26:43Exactly, which is why? Well, actor we started doing the
- 26:47Hispanic heritage events and becoming more involved in the
- 26:51Hutchison Community because at first, they didn't want to
- 26:54nobody wanted to even our family.
- 26:57A friends, close family, friends, who own businesses.
- 27:00Didn't want to sponsor our events and things like that
- 27:03because they were so scared of violence.
- 27:05It's hard. It's been hard.
- 27:07Was it like the stigma and just and just how how I like how I
- 27:14have it. Look you know we have any room
- 27:18that we walk into. Yeah.
- 27:19Yeah. You know whether it's were you
- 27:20look better than you? We dress better.
- 27:22I don't know what it is. Yeah I really don't know.
- 27:24It doesn't matter. It will how I look or anything.
- 27:26I mean. I mean, I know you guys could
- 27:29probably kick my ass but also no, it was just it's just that
- 27:36that that the label and the Chicano rapper or whatever.
- 27:41You know. I mean like that was hard.
- 27:43Yeah you know we I embrace I embrace it.
- 27:46You know me because again like like Huachuca was saying man
- 27:48we've been doing doing this for awhile, 15 years and we come rub
- 27:55shoulders with Legends And in Chicano rap.
- 27:58Yeah, you know, because back in the early days of rap, you know,
- 28:02I mean like, again, everybody just wrapped.
- 28:05Yeah. You know, and then like, in like
- 28:06the late, I'll see you later 90s early 2000s.
- 28:10You know, would like thump records and stuff like that, you
- 28:13know, little Rob, Woodall them, a low profile records, like it
- 28:16started to get the total rata need, someone they labeled it
- 28:21Chicano rap and you have mr. Caponi, then you had the
- 28:23criminals, the, you know, mean everybody else that followed
- 28:26after that. Yeah, you know, keenly G
- 28:28everybody else. But but yeah, man, it's just,
- 28:31it's just been such a trip coming up out of Kansas and you
- 28:35know, we they're like, oh, you're from Kansas was like,
- 28:37what what are you gonna do for us?
- 28:40Exactly there. They still think that there's
- 28:41Cowboys and Indians out here out here.
- 28:49Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's been hard out here in
- 28:52Kansas because of the labeling and to get back in.
- 28:57Like donations and people that help.
- 29:00Yeah, with their own events. I mean, if we were to throw a
- 29:02little robber Wiz Khalifa, or the that's coming out here, like
- 29:05people, go to that. Oh, yeah, right.
- 29:07But like, and Chicano rap. Arsenic dogs.
- 29:10Are the criminals? The Capone?
- 29:12Yeah, he's Rich. He's the drummer boy's, you
- 29:15know. Ecwid, you know, I mean all
- 29:17these, you know, keep those Soul like, these are these are
- 29:20legends to us and their own, right?
- 29:22Yeah, you know, I mean so like it's just, it's crazy because
- 29:25I'll mention that to people out here, we don't Have in
- 29:28California, the West Coast. Like the, the mecca of Chicano
- 29:32rap, Oregon was a trap. All the McDonald's, all the
- 29:35Chicanos. As I, you know, it's established
- 29:38out there. Yeah.
- 29:39So like but really we're spread every where we are and see that.
- 29:43And that's what they say if that video up there.
- 29:48Yeah. So gangster, right.
- 29:49Thanks for the homeboy hypnotics from Cali.
- 29:51Yeah, he's on the come up big time right now.
- 29:53Yeah, but he says, on that song, Oh yeah.
- 29:57He's like, man. There's, there's a Raza
- 29:59everywhere. And I'm like, yeah, well, we're
- 30:08bringing the criminals. There's actual people like,
- 30:10doing what he's doing exactly. And when they do, you know who
- 30:14they're doing it, they're sick and twisted.
- 30:16Yeah, we hear Kansas, he think either sick and twisted, or you
- 30:20think Southwestern attainment and I'll give them their flowers
- 30:24because they're ended up right now.
- 30:25They deserve it and it worked really hard.
- 30:27And we've all bump shoulders. Again, if you really out here
- 30:29doing it and you know who's doing it, you bump shoulders
- 30:32with them. Yeah, yeah.
- 30:33That's out to Southwest entertainment.
- 30:34Yeah. And all the Coalition DJ's out
- 30:36there. Coalition DJ's.
- 30:38So I was a DJ 3 and, and I was much bigger.
- 30:43I had to say, man, I've had quite the journey man.
- 30:46I've had. I've seen your push-up videos, I
- 30:51appreciate that. I literally texted my friend the
- 31:03other day I was like, dude, it's funny because Alpena was like I
- 31:15can't believe you guys are going to shoot that video like at noon
- 31:18In the Heat of the day, like you guys are crazy and we didn't
- 31:21realize how you about me that long hike, that there was a hike
- 31:26involved. Like that.
- 31:28I hope you like you recording me down here first and then and
- 31:31then uphill was the worst man, honestly, but you can go on
- 31:35there man. He's the best rate of all of us
- 31:37are he was waking up at 5:00 in the morning.
- 31:39Yo, working out, whatever. Yeah.
- 31:46For our listeners were watching the music video.
- 31:49So gangster right now. Big C by 2.
- 31:51Okay, I'm that guy from itm dope star.
- 31:58Yeah, moochie right there. Yeah, chingon psyche.
- 32:01It like a, you know, he's a brother does, you know, I really
- 32:04he's a lot, he's family for real, you know, and opine has
- 32:09would come. I'm Oscar, payn has become a
- 32:11member of our family. Hypnotic has become a member of
- 32:14our family. You know, hypnotic actually hit
- 32:17us up for the first time for the to perform as one of the openers
- 32:20and that guy right there with the gun.
- 32:22His name's Kelly Rosco. That's a legend right there to
- 32:24help me. Kelly Rosco, right there.
- 32:26He shoots out to Yeah, you should movies in Hollywood right
- 32:28now. Have you guys heard of concrete?
- 32:31His name is, he's a comedian. He's concrete.
- 32:35He's a Mexican, but he does the reels and stuff like that.
- 32:39Well, Callie Rosco. He coached shoots with him.
- 32:43Oh shit. So like when he's doing all
- 32:45these big things and encounter Rosco was on the come up at the
- 32:48time, he was just getting his camera grind.
- 32:50So he was just there as an extra to help shoot, we had like three
- 32:53or four cameras going at that tag of the wall and everything's
- 32:56a video. Now, I meet a lot of the so bad.
- 32:59Thanks Harvey. And these guys had a 30 pack of
- 33:02modelo's, and they, with a walk, three miles with him.
- 33:06Oh my God. You up with it.
- 33:08Sure up to rain and then down to rain.
- 33:12And like 100-something degree heat.
- 33:14Fuck that how they go on drink hot as beer.
- 33:17They did not care when we got to the child at the time because I
- 33:24had, I was having some health scares me.
- 33:27Mass out with that. I keep it 100 but yeah I had
- 33:29some if you can see I had some things going on with myself at
- 33:31the time. You know we got the homie gizmo
- 33:33from Gizmo Incorporated from Salina Kansas to get small.
- 33:37He was in that in the music video to just their support and
- 33:40then so so speaking of right? Like you guys dropped hella
- 33:43names just now that I'm like, over here my head like okay I'm
- 33:46so F. She gone I wanted to ask, right?
- 33:51Because we fast-forwarded quite a bit in that video.
- 33:54Is that what year was that video Sookie?
- 33:57EXO was chosen, the shutdown's. Okay, I want to say.
- 34:00That was probably 20, 19. Okay, that's why 20 to 30 but it
- 34:05literally San Diego was shut down.
- 34:07Well, while we were there and he's in Vegas, flying out for
- 34:10the video. Yeah, and in Las Vegas, there
- 34:13was nobody there. I bet you that flight was cheap.
- 34:15It was weird. I think it.
- 34:16Yes, we've been, I took advantage of every cheap
- 34:20opportunity during covid. People are like, you guys are
- 34:23crazy. When you guys get back, you're
- 34:25gonna have to quarantine or whatever because unicorns, Now,
- 34:27how about I don't tell anybody when to Zone where I want.
- 34:29Ya, how about that, right? Like, I what?
- 34:42So, 15 years ago, you guys started the music group or your
- 34:46label. Yeah.
- 34:47What point do you guys start to expand and getting all of these
- 34:50artists right and it because like we just fast forwarded hell
- 34:53years? Yeah, years.
- 34:55How did you find all these people?
- 34:57Oh man, so I want to say back in 2000, in 2010, actually, shouts
- 35:04out to the homie Jaguar, catching dead.
- 35:07We had again. I was going to college dropped
- 35:09out to chase the music, honestly, and we were doing,
- 35:14Rock the crowd shows and Salina at one time, sign of was like a
- 35:18hub for Hip Hop shows. It really was.
- 35:21And so they had an event called Rock the crowd, and we did like
- 35:24two of them and we ended up like To the finals and they were
- 35:28using like the 8-mile voice. M cloud is and like we were, you
- 35:33know, that's how we started making our name.
- 35:34Yeah. And then after that, why do we
- 35:36really love doing this? We have that Adrenaline Rush of
- 35:39being on the stage. And so, we went back to the
- 35:41drawing board after after those shows and were like, man like
- 35:44that adrenaline that, you know, that it's there.
- 35:46So it did something to me. Like we gotta, you know, and
- 35:49then we see people, you know, obviously getting paid at the
- 35:52time really getting getting door money and stuff like that.
- 35:54So, we're plotting scheming, you know?
- 35:56So So people were seeing our shows and how we were doing and
- 36:00this opportunity came called the Tornado Alley tour and I'll
- 36:04never forget that had zigzag of the MB Riders on it.
- 36:07The Emmy writers were split up, right MC, Magic was doing his
- 36:11own thing, you've been doing his own thing, he actually had all
- 36:13the rights to the music Roman zigzag at the time, they didn't
- 36:16have no but I have no rights. And MC Magic was was making
- 36:20money off their the tracks that they all rightfully together.
- 36:23But that's all solved now. But so yeah, we We got that
- 36:28opportunity and that's when we met stun, the future or stun out
- 36:32here is some people may know from Southwest entertainment, we
- 36:36met him on that tour. And then then after that, like
- 36:40we just kept doing things man. And in 2012, we did a show with
- 36:45jingle bling in Salina is brought to you by being out
- 36:48there with Chingo Bling. Yeah, with this guy.
- 36:51Yo and everything. This is back when she claims
- 36:53Chingo Bling still. Yeah.
- 36:55And We threw that in our hometown in like the whole sick,
- 36:59the whole town whole city went. Yeah.
- 37:01Now that summer and sick and twisted was blasted up on it,
- 37:05you know. I mean like they knew who was
- 37:06doing what and so that shows ended up being good.
- 37:10Went to some after-parties networking like we're doing here
- 37:13with you. Wonderful people here, get to
- 37:15know each other went to an after party after that show ended up
- 37:18getting a connect to the home, particle Pony.
- 37:23And then so I just hit him up and then we started going on
- 37:25high power to her Just by connect again, open line of
- 37:29communication. Once you meet these people, like
- 37:31they're just people. Yeah, you know, and there are
- 37:34you have human cells. Exactly.
- 37:36We had, we had so much to bring, we're so hungry, the time, you
- 37:39know, I mean, and, and what we're talking to component, of
- 37:42course, Money Talks. You know, we're out here
- 37:43hustling getting to the bag by any means at that at that point
- 37:47in time. Yeah, I mean, by any means we
- 37:49had to get good money. Yeah.
- 37:51And I'll let the mines take you were wherever man but we were in
- 37:54the streets smokes everybody who's out here getting it.
- 37:57Those tourists are going really well in 2012, 13 and then
- 38:04shortly after that, we had to make some life changes.
- 38:07You know? I mean the everyone's growing up
- 38:09in the group smokes growing up, you know, being he's got his
- 38:11family as he does about kids. You know, I'm out here like,
- 38:15what am I going to do? You know, I mean, like, looking
- 38:17for the next move, you know, music's going to give, but how
- 38:19can we take the next level? And so, I moved to Hutch.
- 38:23And then once you got to Hutch, man, then we started doing like
- 38:26fundraisers. And get more active into the
- 38:28communities. And then we ended up, you know,
- 38:32meat and criminal. We're doing more business with
- 38:34the home, use the criminal, if you don't know him, check him
- 38:36out on YouTube crime, family entertainment.
- 38:39Now, look for me. If I power built a good solid
- 38:42relationship with him and he's the highest paycheck on oh
- 38:44rapper, ever, you know, Mexican little G.
- 38:48Yeah. You know, and we sat in living
- 38:50rooms and said, you know, in the same cars with these guys, you
- 38:54know, means telling us about your guys's fan And girl
- 38:57moments. Yeah, yeah.
- 39:50You have Dusty housing before he blew up, we did a show around
- 39:55that same time 2011-12. We did a show at McGraw's and
- 39:59Hutchinson and he was starting to make some noise out here.
- 40:02I think at the time he was with ruthless records used to be easy
- 40:05easily able and bump shoulders with Hopson little little to no
- 40:10like four years later. Homie would be multi millionaire
- 40:13lives in Europe now. Yeah, but yeah, bump shoulders
- 40:16with him in Hutchinson Kansas small Hudson, Kansas what?
- 40:19Yeah, crazy. Yeah.
- 40:21It's our Journeys been. It's been wild off camera off my
- 40:24content. We could get in a lot more.
- 40:26Oh yeah. There's lots of.
- 40:27There's lots of. There's lots of cool stories.
- 40:29I tell you. And like I think one of my
- 40:31favorites is when we were a shooting and everything shut
- 40:35down. Yeah so hypnotic when he first
- 40:38came out to Kansas City when he was first really started to make
- 40:42a name for himself and traveling instead of just staying in Cali,
- 40:46his first out-of-state show was with us in Kansas City and Does
- 40:51carne asada and I love that song even look that up but he can't,
- 40:55he came out. Yeah he came out with carne
- 40:57asada. Yeah, background 2017-2018 on
- 41:01one of his first as CDs. It was really circulating out
- 41:04there and it cracked me up because what I didn't know was
- 41:08that him and Shadow had a future together.
- 41:11I ain't no, the shadow for those who yes, for mr.
- 41:13Shadow has a future together. And I was sitting with with her
- 41:18Shadow and his wife watching hypnotic performing And he's
- 41:21over here, talking about critiquing and talking about
- 41:23what he likes about hypnotics performance and everything and
- 41:26about how it's so light-hearted. But it's funny but yet, it's but
- 41:30it, but yet it's meaningful and serious at the same time.
- 41:33So, you know, he's a, he's another artist so we brought out
- 41:37from Cali. Oh yeah, this is still one of my
- 41:39favorite songs of all time and it's not even like you know his
- 41:42most popular. I don't care.
- 41:44Like it's my favorite. That's my favorite song.
- 41:46Yeah, for real. And when we arrived in there,
- 41:48right? He's like my family is.
- 41:50I have a carne asada for you guys.
- 41:52Uh-huh. I'm like sweet.
- 41:53That's awesome. So we don't have to worry about
- 41:54feeding ourselves. Right right, right.
- 41:56Yes, I'll make reservations anywhere.
- 41:57Awesome cool. So you know we he invited us
- 42:01grow P9. Everything.
- 42:02Because we Shot Two music videos in one weekend.
- 42:05Well, we right there. That's a lot of work already.
- 42:08It was, it was a lot of work, it was a long weekend, but we get
- 42:12together over there and it's funny because Alpena was like,
- 42:15amen. If the homie puts out a song
- 42:17about, don't got any saw that I got and I saw the better be
- 42:20good. It was it lived up to the hype
- 42:25for real? Like, I ate so much that I woke
- 42:27up feeling like I had a hangover the next day and I didn't even
- 42:30drink. I just smoked and
- 42:50Chopping it up because like we're like man like you could
- 42:53bring like a reality TV show in here and they just be just
- 42:56having a just going hey day over here.
- 42:59Yeah honestly with the - stories that we had around the table
- 43:02with everyone that we've worked with, over the years and
- 43:04everything and and it's been, it's been, it's been an awesome
- 43:08ride, you know, like heh Casey the promoter, right?
- 43:11You know, that we was in Greeley with, you know, he is, you know,
- 43:17one of Baby Bash is children's Godfathers.
- 43:20Oh, it's all damn, and same with like Ruben boyajian.
- 43:25He's a really good community and out of Arizona, Arizona as well.
- 43:28And it's just crazy how like we all know each other and but we
- 43:32didn't know each other. Like they all have heard our
- 43:34names like over the course of 15 years.
- 43:37Every single one of them had heard our names on a sheet of
- 43:39the West Coast and the most of them a lot of people that had us
- 43:42on Instagram or Facebook or whatever.
- 43:43A lot of people think that we are from the West Coast.
- 43:46Yeah well I mean it's that's that comes with I think with the
- 43:49name, right? Like everyone is Zooms Chicano
- 43:51rap is West Coast and it's like, yeah, no, like, honestly were
- 43:55like, kind of like roaches bad example but, you know, I know, I
- 44:00know exactly where everywhere everywhere always multiplying.
- 44:06So if you guys could choose right, like tell us about like
- 44:10you kind of started to lay the groundwork a little bit of like
- 44:13your timeline and how we're here in 23 right now sitting here
- 44:17with your see you and about to get a drink that Emily's going.
- 44:20To make for you guys. So I wanted to ask like, what?
- 44:27When was the moment that you guys felt like we made it?
- 44:30Like all this hard work, we're getting there.
- 44:34You guys also did mention one of the show's over at hedge, where
- 44:37you guys saw your name there or like what if you could describe
- 44:41one moment where you felt like this is one of the ones that
- 44:44really defined our career. I'd say we're still searching
- 44:49for it, man. I'd say it.
- 44:51We're not there yet, but if I had to give you one one moment
- 44:57for sure, I'd have to say we did it.
- 45:00This is just my personal much. I may have a different one but
- 45:04we had did a show with Snow the Product.
- 45:05And okay Rich Jarren Benton and Who else was on it bill?
- 45:12I can't remember. But then this was in our
- 45:15hometown, you know, I mean, and we literally that sold out that
- 45:20venue hours, probably like Max Capacity of like 1,000 and 1,200
- 45:23people, but I mean, they were, it was over code, but when we
- 45:27hit that stage and and our city was, you know, was chance.
- 45:30Sick and twisted me. I think that right there for me,
- 45:33that was in 2012. That was like, man, we have to
- 45:35keep going with this. You know, we are picking up
- 45:38speed, man. And, and I think that Moment for
- 45:42me personally when you always like I wanted more of that.
- 45:45Yeah. You know it's like a high that
- 45:46you don't get enough of you really don't, you know.
- 45:49And so I think that for me was was a big was a big moment
- 45:52besides, you know, bringing like a pony and criminal in the
- 45:54homies. Look what they all the homies
- 45:56down to Kansas, those are huge moments for us.
- 46:00Yeah. Well, you know, gosh there's
- 46:05been a lot of great ones. I mean heck yeah.
- 46:08Are the spring break in Miami? Was insane, a couple years back,
- 46:14traveling out to Dallas, you know, just getting out there and
- 46:18Performing out of state for me. It was awesome because see big
- 46:21seeing and smokes they had gone on tour with I high power.
- 46:25So they had gone, a chance to see what it was, like, in
- 46:27Colorado or Nebraska or whatever and I actually a lot of things.
- 46:30Yeah. It's a good season.
- 46:31Yeah. And that's fine.
- 46:33At that time. I was a good boy.
- 46:45Yeah. Well, you know, I at that time
- 46:47like when smoked in in basically, we're going out with
- 46:50high-power, I was still recording and secret but not
- 46:54able to travel because I had a very controlling physically
- 46:57abusive husband that I was married to.
- 47:00And I got married like literally at 18 years old and and had my
- 47:04son, you know, like four days after my 18th birthday and so
- 47:08like for me like it Hard. Like, I was constantly riding
- 47:12always had a notebook that I wrote in because I literally
- 47:15felt like I was struggling with depression, you know, Suicidal
- 47:18Thoughts things like that because I could not express
- 47:20myself the way that I had always my entire life.
- 47:23I mean, didn't I didn't even have my piano, no more, I wasn't
- 47:26even allowed to go play over my mom's house anymore.
- 47:28I wasn't allowed to go hang out with my brother.
- 47:29Sister had no phone and talk to me, buddy.
- 47:32I just sneak out to go see him. I'd go record.
- 47:34Sneak on my lunch break to go record, you know, Tornado Alley
- 47:37toward Dallas, I forced that on my ex-husband, but then after
- 47:40that, That like I couldn't really, I we did some shows in
- 47:43town and stuff but I couldn't really do much traveling after
- 47:46that. So like after me and my
- 47:48ex-husband got a divorce and I still got to travel and I got to
- 47:52start, you know, you know, facilitating the events and my
- 47:56brother actually getting to enjoy being an artist and again
- 48:00enjoy doing the to do the producing that he likes to do
- 48:04and focus on those things and then let and then I could just
- 48:07focus on, you know, getting the merge put together, you know,
- 48:10getting the Those put together and everything like that.
- 48:13And and after that, we found our balance and we found our balance
- 48:18were able to, you know, just as a certain point before covid, we
- 48:22were having a show like once a month.
- 48:24Wow. Like in Hutch or whatever
- 48:26because we had partnered with different, you know, labels like
- 48:29give money boys partner has partnered with us and throwing
- 48:32events and we've split doors and things like that, you know?
- 48:36And and so I want to say that probably Lee so far like show
- 48:44wise what has made me feel like, oh, we made.
- 48:47It was probably our 15-year anniversary.
- 48:49Back in November, to be honest, we had the highest set of ticket
- 48:53sales that we've had since we used to be in SK, you know,
- 48:58throwing the shows in the SK as about the highest Monte,
- 49:01Cassell's that we've had since then.
- 49:03And on top of that, you know, we just we had and look, we had a
- 49:09Powerhouse. I mean there was all the best
- 49:13artists from this state and then also just everybody flying in
- 49:17from Cali and everything to be a part of the event.
- 49:21It was, it was, it was amazing to.
- 49:24That's a, that's a, that's good memory.
- 49:26Yeah, to glad you brought that up.
- 49:28Yeah, laughs. Yeah.
- 49:28She was going to hear from Bozo who we had just met for the
- 49:33first time. You know what I mean?
- 49:35Like this bozo. Yes, it was formerly a
- 49:37high-powered battery. Now, he does his independent
- 49:39things out there. Working with wood big dogs to
- 49:42man. So yeah.
- 49:43And to be and to be hanging out with them for, you know, for
- 49:47days at a time and everything. And for us all to have these
- 49:51stories working with the same people, you know, all different
- 49:56all different experiences with the same type of group, same
- 50:01musicians, but just some awesome stories to share and some really
- 50:04great memories. You know, we had a really great
- 50:07team behind us that day, the the best armed security He's
- 50:11probably in the state. The, you know, shout out to the
- 50:14homie Javon who literally worked non-stop because he was our
- 50:18driver. So he was driving everyone
- 50:20everywhere from the airport to their to the airport, said to
- 50:24the runner. The I to Airbnb said, yeah,
- 50:27giving drunk people rides because you know, that the leave
- 50:29their, you know, their stuff there for the night or whatever
- 50:32and then helping us set up and clean up and all that it was
- 50:35just in my kids were actually able to go and they helped.
- 50:40Run the door and things like that because they're teenagers
- 50:43are getting older and so it was just really great to see
- 50:47everybody come on and together for a great cause and a great
- 50:54time. And you know, to see that most
- 50:57people didn't even care about the headliners.
- 51:00Yeah, they were there for sick and twisted.
- 51:02That's what was so beautiful about it was they were there for
- 51:06sick and twisted and we had the biggest crowd in the house and
- 51:10we had You know, the most pictures and all that stuff
- 51:13taken, probably all night long. We're, we're waiting on our
- 51:17like, on again. We haven't met that that like
- 51:21yeah, moment, you know, I mean, but I do feel that that moment
- 51:26is coming real soon. Yeah, with persistence with hard
- 51:29work with education it's bound to happen.
- 51:32You and me we got we got people don't understand man that like
- 51:36the the footwork is key. You can't just jump into this
- 51:40and sit It's just somebody in their inbox.
- 51:42Hey man, I'm a rapper and I want to do this.
- 51:43Like yeah, me start out but I mean, you have to really put the
- 51:46work in. You know what I mean?
- 51:48Like there is there's no s. Like yeah, escalator into this
- 51:51shit. Like you got to build your
- 51:52network. She had to build a relationship
- 51:54with people and you know and then that's how it works.
- 51:58Yes, how it works but yeah we're still searching me which I hear
- 52:01working man we ain't done yet. Yeah no no.
- 52:03But I mean like in the reason I asked that question was because
- 52:06again like you guys have been doing this for so long that it
- 52:09was more around like like to your point into yours as well.
- 52:13It was like that your fire just got reignited even more.
- 52:17So right it was like at that point back in 2012 and then
- 52:21recently in November it was just like wow like in 2012 it was
- 52:25this experience of How far you guys work the potential
- 52:31dependent and then in November, it was like we're our name is
- 52:36out there. People are coming for the name
- 52:38and now we're I mean we're going to see more of it man in the
- 52:42end. It's just it's getting better
- 52:43man. And you know, like my shout out
- 52:45to my homie true child to peak of man, but we talked every day
- 52:48he gets out on talkbox. He's gonna have to come here and
- 52:50bust out the talkbox, right? Oh yeah, he is on.
- 52:53The is on the come up right now. Want to Kansas is brightest
- 52:56stars me. And he's absolutely Viable.
- 52:59We have a video Drop in here soon called the good life with
- 53:01him. We were just in Topeka shooting
- 53:04that video. Yeah.
- 53:05Yeah I mean but what's bring him out here and and all that good
- 53:09stuff. Yeah.
- 53:09Shoutouts to the Warriors car club for coming out and bringing
- 53:13all your whips and everything and shoutouts to all the homies
- 53:15that brought their lowrider bikes.
- 53:17And, and they're, and they're nice whips out for the day.
- 53:20Because it was, it was a really great Vibe.
- 53:23And of course, all the families, all the, all the supporting of
- 53:26homies wives. Children and everything that
- 53:29showed up. But at the video shoot was just
- 53:31amazing for such a great Vibe. Everything's coming coming, full
- 53:34circle, man, at the home. All love you guys have like this
- 53:39coat. There's like there's like a cult
- 53:41under like following like this, because the footwork was put in,
- 53:44you know, it wasn't like we just dropped music yesterday, right?
- 53:48Yeah. We've been grinding at this
- 53:50since the Myspace days since. Yeah.
- 53:52You know. Yeah.
- 53:55Early on. Yeah.
- 53:56I feel like I feel like We need a drink now, and to be able to,

- 56:47drink alone is not fun. No, no, no, it's not.
- 56:50If you're going to drink have a friend.
- 56:52Yes, but it depends on how hard the day is.
- 56:56You can have a drink by yourself.
- 56:59We are social drinkers, so we made a podcast out of it.
- 57:02So we have more social events to Dragon.
- 57:07Well, guys, as you know, I always make us a drink.
- 57:10Drink, you know is your Amateur hour Emily?
- 57:13Who's the bartender? So today guys, I made a mock toe
- 57:18and a cocktail today. I made a strawberry cocoa Breeze
- 57:22with and without vodka, right, vodka guys be using vodka.
- 57:26Yeah, that's crazy. I'm like took us back to high
- 57:28school. She got some strawberries or
- 57:31legit. You guys I really made a jungle
- 57:33juice. Squirter exactly.
- 57:48We also got some Sonic ice out, how fancy we went.
- 57:51Yeah, I went pretty fancy. I went to go get some Sonic
- 57:54eyes. It took a while to bring me some
- 57:56ice house again, what the fuck? How long it takes to make a bag
- 57:58of ice and they're like, we have to get it from the, from the
- 58:01freezer and I was like, oh, okay, Cox.
- 58:04A lot of work to get that out of the freezer.
- 58:06Fuck you cost me, 3229? Benign sense of like, what the
- 58:11fuck next time? I'm getting ice somewhere else.
- 58:15But anyways, guys, so I made a special drink for you guys so
- 58:19altogether, make it at home. I've something for the listeners
- 58:23who maybe want to listen to this episode.
- 58:26Yes, yes. So, I'm what I have here is I
- 58:30have some simply lemonade, some strawberries and I have some
- 58:34real Gourmet cream of coconut. As we caught up with your, we
- 58:41don't practice this week off, grandma, and then flash is some
- 58:46Grandma. Yes.
- 58:47And then today I'm using Smirnoff.
- 58:49You guys are going to be throwing way back.
- 58:52He said Barton that's really tasty.
- 58:56Yes, I'm Eunice near up. Sneering off Smirnoff, Vodka
- 59:00flavor strawberry. So what you guys do is you just
- 59:03garnish. Some, is it garnish or just
- 59:06mush? It's mush mush.
- 59:09Okay. That with strawberries model,
- 59:12the strawberries strawberries. Then after that, you you pour
- 59:17some, you're eliminating there and then some just a little bit
- 59:21of, you know, the coconut cream, shake it, Stir It, add some put
- 59:26it over ice done, nice and simple.
- 59:29Nice to fire is good bartender. So, holla at me, if you need me,
- 59:36do that your Weddings But it only cost me $100 an hour.
- 59:40What that bag you can hit her up.
- 59:41I hear Co cast on Instagram or Here's to You POD at gmail.com.
- 59:51Oh yes by Chuka grading. Hear what you got?
- 59:55I'm struggling opened up a you know what I would I would most
- 1:00:01definitely give it a good eight especially since the The Ice
- 1:00:07that you use actually really tops it off.
- 1:00:10Yeah, I'll tell you man, that ice really that actually your
- 1:00:14fancy. Thank God for Emily taking some
- 1:00:21time to wait on them, but continuing to give some
- 1:00:24shoutouts. Shouts.
- 1:00:25Again, we went to the break because we we ended on a real
- 1:00:28high note in that last segment, we were talking about all the
- 1:00:31accomplishments that you guys have had over the last couple of
- 1:00:34years. So as we come back into the
- 1:00:37segment, we wanted to start off like what are what would you say
- 1:00:41are like the most memorable shows that you two had or if you
- 1:00:44had to pick one, what would be the most memorable show that you
- 1:00:46guys have had? Okay.
- 1:00:52You're like so it's hard. So we we had did a show with the
- 1:00:56homeboy mr. Criminal.
- 1:00:58And I'm not saying homies name for no clout and I'm saying we
- 1:01:00learned to be at the homeboys president's, right?
- 1:01:03But we had brought him down to Valley Center Kansas, right?
- 1:01:07I know Valley Center, right, but we were supposed to do it in
- 1:01:11Wichita. This is in 2019.
- 1:01:13We ended up doing it at a small venue in Valley Center because
- 1:01:17the I knew that we were looking to do it as it didn't fall
- 1:01:20through. Yeah.
- 1:01:20They double-booked in our so bad.
- 1:01:22Double booked. Yeah, it's happened.
- 1:01:24Many times. But we need up doing it Valley
- 1:01:27Center and it would It was crazy that we even did it the way we
- 1:01:31did it but it was in like a mini Theatres.
- 1:01:34Uh-huh. Right.
- 1:01:34So the seeds kind of went, you know, sit at an angle.
- 1:01:38Yeah. And have the stage up front.
- 1:01:40Well, they had church service the next day, right?
- 1:01:43So can you picture A hip-hop? You know, Chicano rap show in
- 1:01:47small-town Valley Center on a Saturday night.
- 1:01:50Uh-huh. Right.
- 1:01:52And that they and I hope he's got smoked out.
- 1:01:55We were blazing light. Up in the crowd and we were
- 1:02:00having make announcements over and over again.
- 1:02:02You have to do that outside. Yeah.
- 1:02:04You can't be more than just smoking shuts out the stone in
- 1:02:10Orlando. They came to actually help.
- 1:02:12You're like, thank you for providing the supply.
- 1:02:15Yeah, exactly man. Plenty to go around that night.
- 1:02:19Yeah. That's been dealt smoke a
- 1:02:20criminal but that show I'd say would be be a highlight for me
- 1:02:24man because we had Shadow come out for that event.
- 1:02:26Yes, your Shadow. He and his wife and daughter.
- 1:02:29I got to attend because it was an all ages event.
- 1:02:31So they were able to bring their little one, which was wild.
- 1:02:34Yeah. Say it was wild.
- 1:02:36But yeah, we had Shadow, mr. Criminal little quite, they was
- 1:02:40there that night, so we had a lot of the West Coast Chicano
- 1:02:42rap stars in Kansas in Valley Center, man.
- 1:02:45So to have them all in Valley Center Kansas again, you know, I
- 1:02:49mean, you think we'd be, we'd be in Wichita, Dodge liberal
- 1:02:53Garden, somewhere like that. But not, we were in Valley
- 1:02:55Center, man, the crew, it to be successful.
- 1:03:07Little bit of both to put the the homies businesses yeah,
- 1:03:13crazy night in Valley Center, that would it out there.
- 1:03:16But I mean I was here, I didn't know we had a stripper in the
- 1:03:24wild and then the next day we were all praising Jesus.
- 1:03:31When the show was over, we were cleaning up.
- 1:03:33We were going through there was say he didn't like because the
- 1:03:36owner came in was like, oh yeah we had to open up all the doors.
- 1:03:40Yeah. Air the place out fans
- 1:03:43everywhere. Yeah help him clean up.
- 1:03:46That was a highlight and brother place down.
- 1:03:48Yeah, it don't show for me. Oh yeah.
- 1:03:52My kids loved that one too. Because I was one of those that
- 1:03:54they were actually able to go to as well.
- 1:03:56So that was a funny one. Yeah.
- 1:03:58But I I want to say like the most memorable for me would have
- 1:04:03to be the show at Aftershock with criminal and mr.
- 1:04:08Shadow that one was the most memorable for me.
- 1:04:11Because I like even though we had done like the little Rob
- 1:04:15show before that that was like my first time like really seeing
- 1:04:23a packed house and like getting to meet Criminal Mr. Shadow,
- 1:04:30because you yourself to wait for a while.
- 1:04:32Yeah, look, I said I was, I was dealing with that with that
- 1:04:36abusive marriage that I was in for almost a decade, you know.
- 1:04:39So it was like, it was, it was really, it was really great to
- 1:04:43see like everybody that my brother had talked about over
- 1:04:45the years. It get to meet everyone in
- 1:04:47person and then after that obviously like the relationships
- 1:04:51have just grown major to the point, you know that we have
- 1:04:56great you know, relationships with With like, the artist
- 1:05:00family members outside of the music, you know?
- 1:05:04And that's that's really cool, you know?
- 1:05:06Yeah. And you know, I really do, you
- 1:05:08know, appreciate, you know, a Shadows wife supports, she's
- 1:05:12been a huge fan of sick and twisted for a long time.
- 1:05:15So I want to shout her out because I really want to, you
- 1:05:17know, express my appreciation for her because she's been just
- 1:05:21an awesome support for us and and has always followed us on
- 1:05:25the Instagram and it has been an awesome fan herself as well.
- 1:05:29Also, if we built great relationships, you know, through
- 1:05:32again, through the music and yeah, and the experience is the
- 1:05:36shows me. You can't take those memories
- 1:05:38away. Yeah, I mean those are just
- 1:05:40ingrained and and good to be there for a very long time.
- 1:05:43Yeah. So we want to take another step
- 1:05:46into maybe personal life, a little bit because I know that
- 1:05:50when we had a chance to connect you were telling me that you
- 1:05:54wanted a even touch on other heavier subjects, I quote,
- 1:05:57unquote heavier, and what? I mean that when I say I say,
- 1:05:59like, you want to talk about the importance, of mental, health
- 1:06:02and Friends, such as taking care of yourself.
- 1:06:04And again, bringing it all back to, like, the reason why you
- 1:06:07guys are Chicanos a trap, is you have a voice, you have a
- 1:06:11platform, you want to be able to share what's coming out there.
- 1:06:14So I wanted to just kind of start off with, like, asking you
- 1:06:17guys like something that you're willing to share with us of
- 1:06:21like, what has been a big challenge that you face in your
- 1:06:25life, or even a music and how did you guys overcome that?
- 1:06:30And I say for for me, just being able to communicate with people.
- 1:06:36Hmm. Yeah, I mean, for me personally
- 1:06:39I had a just shut down, you know, me and I if something
- 1:06:42something's going on, you know, life gets hard sometimes, maybe
- 1:06:45a lot actually, and I just was the type to again not address my
- 1:06:50mental health issues, you know, like borderline childhood
- 1:06:53issues, you know, things have happened in my life like that
- 1:06:56you just suppress, you know like you know, if it's called
- 1:06:58masking. Something like that.
- 1:06:59But I like ya got really good at that, you know?
- 1:07:02I mean, and I just realized I like, you know, open
- 1:07:06communication is key, man. I don't think there's you can
- 1:07:09solve anything with it with communication, right?
- 1:07:12With just a sit-down, which is a sit-down, you know, I mean, even
- 1:07:14if it's to get something out, you know, I mean, because I
- 1:07:17think a lot of times when I was younger, why I started
- 1:07:19gangbanging and it started getting, you know, like just
- 1:07:22didn't give a fuck, you know, was because of my mental health,
- 1:07:24you know? I mean parents split up just
- 1:07:27like just a lot of things. Then, you know, and I took it to
- 1:07:31substance abuse, you know? I mean, I took it to I would to
- 1:07:35get it out, I would cry it out and when I cried it out, I was
- 1:07:38probably doing some tequila or something cause I wasn't dealing
- 1:07:41with things in a healthy way. And so I think just to again,
- 1:07:45find who you are, you know, find who that a.j. is, who that Big C
- 1:07:49is. I had a really had a slow the
- 1:07:51fuck down and tell that individual that I got them.
- 1:07:56Yeah, that was the Inner child had to talk to myself, man,
- 1:08:03seriously, because I didn't, like, who I was.
- 1:08:05I didn't mentally, I would see myself and not just not like it,
- 1:08:10you know? I mean, and then I took that out
- 1:08:12in my drinking and other just things, I'm not proud of, but,
- 1:08:18but again, yeah, just happened. Back in and loving yourself and
- 1:08:21that really, really helped alleviate a lot of that strain
- 1:08:26on the mental. And like, it just fine.
- 1:08:28Back in and like feeling again. Yeah, you know, I mean to feel
- 1:08:34well I want to commend you first and say thank you for being so
- 1:08:37vulnerable. And I appreciate your sharing
- 1:08:39that with everyone and a lot of people who share that.
- 1:08:41Yeah. Yeah, man.
- 1:08:42It's, it's been, it's been a journey man, you know, me and
- 1:08:46that's why I'm coming here and thank you guys for the platform.
- 1:08:48And because again, mental health awareness is a big push of ours
- 1:08:54right now about. Ruka will go into her current
- 1:08:56things that she's going on with and, and stuff like that.
- 1:08:58That man. But, but yeah, again, just my
- 1:09:01message to anybody out there that is struggling with mental
- 1:09:03health. Really really open up man.
- 1:09:08You got to talk you know because again you know people are there
- 1:09:13to help you but I mean you also have to help yourself.
- 1:09:16No one's going to come and pour into you.
- 1:09:17No one's going to come save you man that's always found myself.
- 1:09:20Having all kinds of different excuses, you know.
- 1:09:23I mean like you know, whatever the reason was for me to Lose
- 1:09:26Myself. Yeah, you know, it's always a
- 1:09:28good reason, hmm. You know, I mean so yeah man,
- 1:09:32just fall in love with yourself man.
- 1:09:33And then just watch everything else fall.
- 1:09:35All fall in line. It's beautiful man.
- 1:09:37It is sobriety for one is beautiful because that's just my
- 1:09:40story. Yeah because I was using
- 1:09:42substance in to again to alleviate me from life and it
- 1:09:47and things I wasn't talking about.
- 1:09:50Yeah you know I mean so it's just beautiful man to again fall
- 1:09:53in love with yourself and everything else would be good
- 1:09:55and put God first. Yeah, like we joke about having
- 1:09:59drinks on the podcast but that's also why we do try to do some
- 1:10:02mock tell options. Yeah.
- 1:10:04And I've been, you know what I Create that that, you know, just
- 1:10:08to have that as an option, you know, I mean, oh yeah, have you
- 1:10:10got something to keep in mind too?
- 1:10:11And if you guys have any Gathering and you guys did very
- 1:10:14good job today, I appreciate it. You know?
- 1:10:16I mean because you know, honestly it's been about good
- 1:10:19nine months since I've been sober.
- 1:10:22Wow, thank you. You guys did a great job.
- 1:10:29Thank you. Thank you.
- 1:10:35So, Pachuca is there. If you could send a message out,
- 1:10:39what would that be? Well, you know, there are, there
- 1:10:47is a lot, there is so much that goes on in my life because I am
- 1:10:52a single mom with three kids. Let him know Pachuca and I've
- 1:10:55been raising them on my own for eight years now.
- 1:10:59No party ears. Now and yeah, I'm solely a mom
- 1:11:03and dad and I and I Bringing all the income and I, and I make
- 1:11:07sure they have everything that they need, but besides that, you
- 1:11:10know what I mean. I also keep my heart open and
- 1:11:12raise my and help raise my boyfriend's children, and
- 1:11:16they're awesome. I call him my bonus kids because
- 1:11:18they rely RI bonus to have. They really are.
- 1:11:22Even though they all come with their own challenges in
- 1:11:26everything that come with them, they are amazing.
- 1:11:30And I really am blessed with the world's best children.
- 1:11:34I swear are because even though they have their faults and
- 1:11:37everything, they have definitely taken a lot of what I have to
- 1:11:41say to heart. And listen, you know, for, for
- 1:11:47as a domestic violence Survivor and I mean Survivor.
- 1:11:50Yeah. I mean, oh man.
- 1:11:53Yeah, so that that again, that's trauma.
- 1:11:57Yeah, yeah. Trauma is, is the root of of
- 1:12:03depression anxiety? Yeah, you know, I mean, Is
- 1:12:05traumas that need to be to be addressed, you know, I mean and
- 1:12:10and I kind of did like what what what big cease you know kind of
- 1:12:14fell into it first when our divorce happened?
- 1:12:19Because you know, we were brought up as you know that's
- 1:12:23Catholics and as a married woman in the Catholic church today the
- 1:12:27divorce. It's just you know that's that's
- 1:12:30not nothing. What that know what do you want
- 1:12:32to take it with a grain of salt at all?
- 1:12:35And in. And so it was, it was a huge
- 1:12:38decision to make, but I had to because it was just, it was a
- 1:12:40save my life but not just mine, but my kids.
- 1:12:42Exact, they were starting to get it there.
- 1:12:44I mean, they were starting to talk and and open up to people
- 1:12:48and it was at, oh my gosh. Like I don't want to lose my
- 1:12:50kids because of this man, so I don't know how many times I've
- 1:12:53had to break my own heart. You know, for that that my
- 1:12:59children to have that consistency of a loving
- 1:13:01household, no matter what it took, no matter if I I was in
- 1:13:05love with somebody or not, I would have to let them go
- 1:13:08because my children had to teach my children by example, that I
- 1:13:11don't put up with that and I that that is not acceptable.
- 1:13:15That behavior is not acceptable, no matter what.
- 1:13:18And then on top of that, you know, and I mean like, they're
- 1:13:22all good becoming teenagers course.
- 1:13:24I have a lot of teenagers and I just have one that's younger.
- 1:13:28She's nine, but everyone else is, you know, preteen it up, you
- 1:13:32know. So are you all right?
- 1:13:35Little sass and all that comes with them.
- 1:13:37Oh man, I my brother's a teenager.
- 1:13:39So like, we're, we're going through it and it's, oh, that's
- 1:13:44a struggle. Holy it.
- 1:13:45Is it just a different breed? Hold this, you know, abuse my
- 1:14:08poor child was there the whole time and unfortunately, she
- 1:14:12couldn't speak, she didn't speak till she was howl until she
- 1:14:15spoke like three words sentences.
- 1:14:17Probably by the age of five. Oh wow.
- 1:14:19Yeah, so between, you know, two years old, when a child starts
- 1:14:24really developing the speak till she was five, she could not say
- 1:14:29more than a couple two, three words to let you know how she
- 1:14:33was feeling or whatever. So, now that She's been able to
- 1:14:37open up and it's like the emotional floodgates are coming
- 1:14:40out. And on top of that, she's going
- 1:14:41through, she's going through puberty of course.
- 1:14:44Yeah. And she is beautiful.
- 1:14:48Yeah, so beautiful. And she literally is so tall for
- 1:14:5212 years old and she's two inches shorter than me.
- 1:14:55And this little girl is, gosh way more busty or than me and
- 1:14:58everything. I mean, this is absolutely
- 1:15:00beautiful. She got the thick hair.
- 1:15:02I always wished. I had all that ant but but So
- 1:15:05sad because of some severe bullying.
- 1:15:09My daughter is so self-conscious, so again, the
- 1:15:13fuck them. Yeah.
- 1:15:14So yeah, they just, they just left my kids
- 1:15:31and I always tell her that all the time.
- 1:15:39Is going to make them feel like the worst person on the planet,
- 1:15:43I will do it. I will cut them.
- 1:15:44I will cut them with my words before I even have to touch them
- 1:15:47with my hands and you know, she I am my daughter's best friend.
- 1:15:53I am, I'm her, I am her advocate, I am her, I am her.
- 1:15:57I guess what Jason would say, Jason platter shut us who Jason
- 1:16:01Superman to Superman of Wichita the Sedgwick County area.
- 1:16:05And in the mental health field, you know, I had a long
- 1:16:09conversation with him last night, we had to make the
- 1:16:12hardest decision ever, you know, the school district decided not
- 1:16:16to listen to me for a year and a half.
- 1:16:18And she wasn't getting the resources that she needed for
- 1:16:20her IEP, for the proper IEP. Anyways, for her behavioral
- 1:16:24health is pretty pretty tough each they're given to yeah.
- 1:16:28And so they drag their feet for a year and a half to the point
- 1:16:31that she was getting the cops called on her and all kinds of
- 1:16:34stuff. I DCF show Own up on my
- 1:16:35doorstep. I swear twice a month.
- 1:16:38It was ridiculous. Finally, we get her transferred
- 1:16:41to the right school by. Then she didn't trust.
- 1:16:43Nobody has. Now, she has trust issues.
- 1:16:45You don't trust somebody. She's paranoid.
- 1:16:47She thinks everybody are someone's laughing in the room.
- 1:16:50Thanks for laughing at her, even though they were laughing about
- 1:16:52their own little side conversation.
- 1:16:53I had nothing to do with her like and so it got, yeah, it got
- 1:16:57to a point, he's triggered. You just don't know what I
- 1:17:01literally almost buried my daughter.
- 1:17:03She tied herself. To a hand rail in my room.
- 1:17:07That's 2 inches off the floor. And when I found her, she was
- 1:17:10purple and blue and I had to bring my daughter back and it
- 1:17:14was the scariest thing ever. And luckily I have training and
- 1:17:17I as a social worker assistant at Allied Health.
- 1:17:20I learned you know how to do all of those things to save people's
- 1:17:23lives. In case I were to work in the as
- 1:17:26you know in a facility like a Horizons or anything like that.
- 1:17:29Were some of you marinara or anything like that.
- 1:17:32And so I was able to do That get ahold of 9/11, you know, the all
- 1:17:37the children, banded together to help me save her, because she
- 1:17:40weighs the time she wages. So much as me, so trying to cut
- 1:17:44her down and everything. I had to have help from the from
- 1:17:47the two older kids and everything.
- 1:17:48And so they're all having to go to through therapy as well on
- 1:17:52top of everything that's going on.
- 1:17:53With our whole world's, it's been flipped upside down man.
- 1:17:56Yeah, it just turned upside down and luckily you know, a lot of
- 1:18:00people don't have very good experiences with cement Francis
- 1:18:03st. Francis Ministries.
- 1:18:04But thanks. And I have Sarah Collins, the
- 1:18:08best, probably caseworker. And in the area, I guarantee you
- 1:18:13who's been working with our family inside the home and then,
- 1:18:17you know, Horizons, I don't have the best things to say about
- 1:18:21them, but they have their crisis team has been really great
- 1:18:25working with my daughter, talking her out of hurting
- 1:18:28herself, a bunch and then, of course, her case management
- 1:18:32worker, Brandi husband, awesome. Um, she just took her for
- 1:18:36coffee. Last week, she spends lots of
- 1:18:38time with her. It takes a village generally, it
- 1:18:42really does. And it got to a point where she
- 1:18:43couldn't go to school. You know, she can't go to school
- 1:18:45so like you know, I was working 90-hour weeks.
- 1:18:48I was working full-time job. I was working two part-time jobs
- 1:18:50and then also doing the cleaning cleaning houses and doing shows
- 1:18:54and stuff. And so you know, I just slow
- 1:18:56down all that stuff. So now I'm just working for
- 1:18:58myself and have been for the past couple months, which is the
- 1:19:01scariest thing that one person can do.
- 1:19:03I don't know what's gonna happen.
- 1:19:05Yeah. Is the scariest thing a person
- 1:19:06could do, but you just, you just gotta put your faith in God and
- 1:19:09be like, okay, you know what I mean?
- 1:19:12We were step were established and, and my business has been
- 1:19:15established the cleaning business business stylish for a
- 1:19:17year now. So I do have clients who can
- 1:19:20refer me to more people if I need to pick up more jobs, if I,
- 1:19:23you know, my sister started her vending machine, luckily around
- 1:19:26this time. So we've been how I've been
- 1:19:27helping her a lot with that kind of stuff too.
- 1:19:29And so, I kind of just like, looking at it in more of a
- 1:19:31positive name of fucking hell. Yeah, that's what she said.
- 1:19:35That's that's that's that's one thing.
- 1:19:38That's what if I give you props that's fuck you.
- 1:19:41Like, if I bring up an idea or something to her, you know, and
- 1:19:44of course, you know, ain't nothing free in this world.
- 1:19:46Oh no, she's on it. You know, she's like how.
- 1:19:49Okay, let's come up with a plan? Let's see where we get the
- 1:19:51funds, or how we can do, whatever, you know.
- 1:19:54I mean, so like again, man, just to go back to the mental health.
- 1:19:58Yeah, I mean it's especially with our youth out here, man.
- 1:20:01It's so important, it's so important worry about the these
- 1:20:04kids. Like it scares me.
- 1:20:07Yeah. In the state of Kansas has the
- 1:20:09worst mental health system because especially for for the
- 1:20:13Youth, that's actually easier for an adult to get help that it
- 1:20:15is for a child. My daughter has been on a
- 1:20:19waiting list for months to get just a psych eval just to find
- 1:20:25out what all is going on with her.
- 1:20:26Yeah. And we still had six and a half
- 1:20:29had six and a half months left on that waiting list.
- 1:20:32When I got the phone call on Monday that my daughter got.
- 1:20:35It accepted for apt RF facility, which is a long-term care
- 1:20:38facility to where she can actually get the Intensive Care
- 1:20:41help. As I give out God's, not answer
- 1:20:43a yes on site but unfortunately you don't, they don't, they
- 1:20:48don't give you this information, you know, like you have to go
- 1:20:50through. They have to go through therapy.
- 1:20:52They have to they have to you know be doing the in-home
- 1:20:56therapy and all that stuff. First before they'll even
- 1:20:59qualify you for an SED waiver and that SED waiver will then
- 1:21:04help you. Hopefully qualified to get on
- 1:21:07the PTR, F waiting list, but you may or may not qualify your
- 1:21:11child may or may not qualify you know?
- 1:21:13So you know I my prayers go out to those families who didn't
- 1:21:17qualify for those lists. I don't know what their
- 1:21:19qualifications are. I'll just know that my daughter
- 1:21:21unfortunately, received criminal charges for attacking a para at
- 1:21:27school, when DCF court, ordered me to have her in person in
- 1:21:30school, when she shouldn't have been.
- 1:21:33She shouldn't have been there because her The thing was so
- 1:21:35bad. That everybody kept telling me,
- 1:21:37I don't even know why they are making her come here, she wasn't
- 1:21:40even learning anymore. She was just sitting in a room
- 1:21:42with no windows All Day coloring, making pictures, all
- 1:21:47kinds of stuff. But they were forcing me to take
- 1:21:49her there because they didn't feel like they had enough
- 1:21:53supervision for my children because I'm one person, you
- 1:21:57know. And so that and that's when I
- 1:21:59was like, okay, well, you know what, you think that I'm just
- 1:22:01going to go ahead and step away from this job and then this job
- 1:22:03and then I'll just, you know what I mean.
- 1:22:05And slowly go to war for myself. Because if you guys, if you
- 1:22:09people think that, then you're horribly mistaken because I
- 1:22:13always work my work schedules, and I work these flexible jobs
- 1:22:16and things like that, so that I can always make sure that I
- 1:22:19facilitate that, I'm there to be.
- 1:22:21Make sure she's on her classes that I work for a place that
- 1:22:24allow me to bring her there with me.
- 1:22:26If I needed to be there or whatever, and, but
- 1:22:29unfortunately, you know, we can't even, I can't eat my
- 1:22:33brother. Used to watch her a lot, you
- 1:22:35know. All my kids a lot.
- 1:22:36He's been more of a father to them than their own dad, you
- 1:22:39know, young. So it was just sad to the point
- 1:22:42where my brother couldn't even take care of her anymore because
- 1:22:45she's lashing out and getting violent with family.
- 1:22:47She was asking, y'all getting violent with me and my and my
- 1:22:49other children in the home, putting everyone else at risk
- 1:22:51and things like that. And so that took it.
- 1:22:54All of that, had to happen in order for her to get the help
- 1:22:56that she needs because the state of Kansas passed a law to years
- 1:22:59ago for the children to have to go through all of these steps
- 1:23:03children order to get into a facility.
- 1:23:05Adults as fuck children. So, we're talking about a little
- 1:23:08girl. We could solve that before we
- 1:23:11can solve all the issues before that happened.
- 1:23:14Exactly. So why do you, why does a kid
- 1:23:16have to lash out to show you that.
- 1:23:17They, there's something wrong with them or like multiple
- 1:23:20multiple multiple multiple times.
- 1:23:22And then the a, you know, how like, there's people, like,
- 1:23:25people are a dick like, say, like alcoholics or drug abuse
- 1:23:28people. You know, they get the help
- 1:23:30quick eggs. I was thinking the exact same
- 1:23:33thing, you know. And then, but then kids like you
- 1:23:35Do they have to go to this step? This step, this step?
- 1:23:37Oh, we have to see how they are with other people.
- 1:23:39Still, wait on a waiting list for six months for a kid.
- 1:23:42Barely just try to make the kids are still growing at the end.
- 1:23:45They but what they see is, what they going to show, what they
- 1:23:49grow up to, you know what I mean.
- 1:23:51Yeah, yeah, yeah. We, it just makes me mad.
- 1:23:53The fact that the main character is your kid, like you.
- 1:23:57That's who you want to, who you survived, who you you're
- 1:24:02surviving for, and to provide for, oh yeah.
- 1:24:05Yeah, best believe. And it's crazy because she
- 1:24:07probably could have gotten like multiple charges before that but
- 1:24:11each and every time because I did go to college for political
- 1:24:15science and have a social work license, I was able to call them
- 1:24:20out and say, hey, you can't talk to my kid, I'm not there.
- 1:24:25Yeah. They're like oh we're not
- 1:24:26questioning, it doesn't matter. You are not a new police
- 1:24:31officer. Sir.
- 1:24:32You are not a professional. Yeah, don't be crushed.
- 1:24:35Seeing my kid don't be, don't be trying to ask her why she did or
- 1:24:37anything like that. Because guess what, you can use
- 1:24:40everything that she says, against her, in the porter law
- 1:24:42and you will, and you will, when it comes down to it, you will,
- 1:24:45you will use that recording. That's on you.
- 1:24:46And you'll use everything that my daughter screaming and all
- 1:24:49this stuff out with that. She can't control and you will
- 1:24:51use it against her in there you. They just need to see who the
- 1:24:54real. Yeah.
- 1:24:55Really. Yeah, really?
- 1:24:56Yeah. And so, and so now not like she
- 1:25:00feels attacked like yeah, or she's gonna react because she
- 1:25:03feels that talk but like, you don't They don't know really how
- 1:25:06she really is when she's calm. And yeah, you know, and so it
- 1:25:09was great because like, well, 75% officers that had contact
- 1:25:12with my daughter, were amazing. And I give hats out to them, I
- 1:25:17believe one of them was a sergeant, Sergeant Warren, from
- 1:25:23not just in Police Department. He was amazing.
- 1:25:25He were he'd been there multiple times for my daughter and then
- 1:25:29up Aidan, I believe he actually called and checked after the
- 1:25:33fact, just to see if My daughter was okay 9:00 at night, there's
- 1:25:37to see if she was okay, good people out there and there is
- 1:25:40there are still amazing. There are still amazing officers
- 1:25:43out there. Unfortunately, we have ran
- 1:25:45across a few that I did have to get investigated in one of them
- 1:25:48was overturned because they make stuff the paperwork so to speak
- 1:25:54and was trying to get me to take my daughter for intake so that
- 1:25:58she could receive charges those like no sir.
- 1:26:00Excuse me, that's not. No, no, it's not how we doing
- 1:26:03on. Yeah, that's how we do that.
- 1:26:06Exactly, you know, during this process with my knees and you
- 1:26:10know, her daughter, we've realized that, I mean there's a
- 1:26:13lot of kids out there like my niece and they're already in
- 1:26:17these facilities. They're yeah.
- 1:26:18They're they're in these long-term places trying to work
- 1:26:21on themselves so they can get back home and be a better
- 1:26:23version of themselves, you know? I mean, so, I mean again, like
- 1:26:28with with any of the music videos, the music, the messages
- 1:26:31and oh man, it's for healing. Yeah, that's what the Into the
- 1:26:35Stars. We go like that track right
- 1:26:38there, you know, it's really about just, you know, I mean,
- 1:26:41again, just healing Mangin. Yeah.
- 1:26:43And luckily, you know, like we've been able to lead, by
- 1:26:45example. So like my children, they've
- 1:26:47been to all pretty much every single protests have ever been
- 1:26:51at or participated in since they were born.
- 1:26:54Yeah, I mean the first protest little island was in when he was
- 1:26:57he was being carried for the DREAM Act protest that we did in
- 1:27:01downtown Salina that the Diocese of soul China sponsored and I
- 1:27:09spoke and everything there at that event.
- 1:27:11But then, you know, back when we did the mob leader was their
- 1:27:17black lives matter. She's been there at a lot of
- 1:27:19protest to the it mean when she felt like she was wrong.
- 1:27:21She knew I can come to Mommy and she'll get it fixed.
- 1:27:24Like she'll check these people like she knows she feels wrong
- 1:27:28or somebody did something wrong to her.
- 1:27:30She could tell me anything and I will and I'll Mexican.
- 1:27:33Yeah, and I will get it and I will get It handled and I won't,
- 1:27:36you know, and we'll and and even if she just needs help like
- 1:27:39communicating with somebody, like she's having a hard time
- 1:27:42explaining how she feels or as having a hard time confronting,
- 1:27:48somebody that that hurt her feelings.
- 1:27:51She said him, she can let me know what's going on and I can
- 1:27:54help mediate and the next thing, you know, everybody's
- 1:27:56everybody's cooler but he's everybody's communicating
- 1:27:58letting each other know how they feel and then everybody's going
- 1:28:00about their day and I'm also in a more positive way.
- 1:28:04But, you know, I Luckily I had a lot of experience doing youth
- 1:28:08camps and things like that and organizing a lot of those and
- 1:28:12have a background in something. But I like I said, my hats off
- 1:28:15to those people. That don't know.
- 1:28:17Yeah, you know that the the system unfortunately takes
- 1:28:21advantage of the ignorance of people not educating themselves.
- 1:28:25What their rights are. There are so many lawsuits that
- 1:28:29could have been brought up against DCF over to over the
- 1:28:33course of the Gosh, just just one year that I've been dealing
- 1:28:37with them. And and, you know, I best
- 1:28:40believe I document everything, I document everything and I and I
- 1:28:44handle everything accordingly. And if it doesn't get taken care
- 1:28:47of, there's there's a 12 months statute of limitation on the,
- 1:28:50I'll get you on what they do. Yeah.
- 1:28:53Yeah. I could do it for anything but
- 1:29:06you show people that, you know, as long as you set your mind to
- 1:29:09it and your heart and what you love.
- 1:29:11Oh yeah, then you could get it. Oh yeah, I got an advocate for
- 1:29:14yourself because he said, you know, if you don't believe in
- 1:29:17yourself, then how do you expect somebody believe in you?
- 1:29:20Yeah, if you don't invest in your own self financially, how
- 1:29:23do you expect somebody else to find to, to, to invest in you?
- 1:29:27If you, if you are not independent at all, ever in your
- 1:29:32life, how can you ever expect Anybody ever to be there for
- 1:29:38you, in to be the one to care? Take for you?
- 1:29:40You don't I'm saying like, if you had to be the caretaker
- 1:29:42first in order to know how it feels like to be the one that
- 1:29:45has to, you know, provide for a household of five or seven.
- 1:29:49You know, I kind of understood a little bit of where my
- 1:29:53ex-husband's mental health, probably went South once I
- 1:29:55became a single mom, right? Because then I you know real
- 1:29:58quick though. Fucking I want.
- 1:30:02Well, well, you know, he Stay at home, mom for a while, you know.
- 1:30:06So, I understand how how, now I understand where the dads who
- 1:30:11provide for the real men out there, not the ones that abandon
- 1:30:15their children, like my ex-husband.
- 1:30:16But, you know, the real men out there that are out there
- 1:30:19providing for their families and 100% support, whatever their
- 1:30:23wife wants to do, whether it's start her own business or
- 1:30:26whatever, but those men, they make sure that's all possible,
- 1:30:29they hold it down, they do all Learners, man.
- 1:30:32Everybody out there. Yeah.
- 1:30:35Yeah, and there's a lot of great single moms that have been
- 1:30:42really great role models. For me.
- 1:30:43My older sister has been a great role model to me.
- 1:30:47She was a single mom way long ago before I was and was in was
- 1:30:51a you know kid chasing your dreams of going to college and
- 1:30:53do all sorts check because he's singing Yes Man.
- 1:30:56Like y'all I know how y'all do it.
- 1:30:59But yeah, I mean it sounds like it all comes back to what?
- 1:31:02What you remember. We're starting with.
- 1:31:04It's like, yeah. You invest in yourself.
- 1:31:06If you believe in yourself, you have to sit down and tell
- 1:31:09yourself like, I believe in you. Yeah, I'm giving you that your
- 1:31:13mental health is an investment in people don't realize that it
- 1:31:16is. It is an investment.
- 1:31:18Yeah, you go to the therapist or whatever, like you're taking
- 1:31:22those things that are going on in your head, right?
- 1:31:24And you're not and you're not, you know, talking to somebody
- 1:31:28else about them. You're talking about a to a
- 1:31:30third party that has no interest in your life whatsoever other
- 1:31:34than me. Making sure that you're trying
- 1:31:36to help you sort it all out. Yeah.
- 1:31:38And and, and that's in as huge. And a lot of people all they
- 1:31:42think about, you know, something there's a lot old stigma.
- 1:31:44You don't like weakness or whatever.
- 1:31:46This is, his night weaker to think that you can do it all by
- 1:31:49yourself. Exactly.
- 1:31:50Exactly. That's the easier thing to do.
- 1:31:52The easier thing to do is to sit there and be like, oh, I'll
- 1:31:56figure this out all myself, the harder thing to do is to
- 1:32:00delegate. It's like it's to use that that
- 1:32:04Village to raise Your to help raise your children to to, to
- 1:32:09reach out to a home again and be like, hey, I need you to help
- 1:32:11me, can you help postma's event for us?
- 1:32:13Can, you know, can we organize a committee?
- 1:32:16So, we can get these, you know, the Hispanic Heritage Month
- 1:32:20stuff off the ground, so that entire Committee of people can
- 1:32:23help do that, and not just me and all that stuff.
- 1:32:25It takes a lot. It, it's easier just to get be
- 1:32:28like, oh, I can handle it all myself.
- 1:32:30I'll just figure it out on myself.
- 1:32:32And in reality, you know, the the It goes great.
- 1:32:35You know, if you don't get 15 years later and get to
- 1:32:38celebrate. Yeah.
- 1:32:48Yeah. You're Superwoman.
- 1:32:50Literally. Thank you.
- 1:32:51Let's bring this back back to like, you know, the trenches of
- 1:32:54the hardships and everything like that.
- 1:32:55And tell us a little about how you hope to achieve your music,
- 1:32:58both professionally for your community.
- 1:33:01Oh wow. Well I think like Like with into
- 1:33:06the Stars, we go you know with that song that song out I was
- 1:33:11speaking on when I made that hook when I said pushing and
- 1:33:16grinding until we fall you know that's what all of.
- 1:33:21That's what that's what all Americans unfortunately that's
- 1:33:25what the with with inflation everything that's we're all
- 1:33:27dealing with, you know and and and just trying to stay positive
- 1:33:32about it and you know, realizing Being that, you know, even
- 1:33:37though we have all of these terrible things that happen to
- 1:33:42us, we break down, we break down those walls.
- 1:33:47We make all those things possible because you can only
- 1:33:49find you can only find that strength within you.
- 1:33:53And so that's what that song was about, was finding that inner
- 1:33:56strength within yourself, to be able to push through because our
- 1:34:00country just went through and the world just went through one
- 1:34:03of the hardest time period. Yeah, that it's been through in
- 1:34:07gosh, 100 years plus, you know, so there's a lot of a lot of
- 1:34:14recovery. That's happening.
- 1:34:15Both mentally physically, emotionally, and financially
- 1:34:19with everyone and so I, we just wanted to open up a like a whole
- 1:34:23other side of ourselves. A more human side of ourselves
- 1:34:26with this song, you know? And I'll scroll peanut was
- 1:34:30hilarious because when we brought when I sent him the
- 1:34:33instrumental to write to it, he was like Like Pachuca thought
- 1:34:36she was going to see me something gangster.
- 1:34:38What is this? And I was like dude you're your?
- 1:34:41Yeah your fans are going to see a whole other side of you.
- 1:34:44Yeah. We've been seen before we've
- 1:34:46been really pushing the you know the because at the beginning
- 1:34:50tickets wizard a lot of our music was gangster rap.
- 1:34:52It was I mean I always tell everybody if you want to get to
- 1:34:55know, big, see if you want you to know AJ.
- 1:34:58You listen to the music? Yeah, I've been saying that
- 1:35:00since day, one, a lot of our lot of our old content, I mean you
- 1:35:06won't find it unless you go like Reverb Nation, or something like
- 1:35:08that.com or you'll find it on there.
- 1:35:10But man, we had a talk about everything.
- 1:35:12I mean everything that we were going through bad and good, you
- 1:35:17know, but like more now we're just really trying to push push
- 1:35:20that the The Narrative to to express yourself.
- 1:35:23Yeah, you know I mean like this isn't always had to be Daria.
- 1:35:26That's a great thing about music.
- 1:35:27Yeah. You know, as you're able to
- 1:35:29Port, let all that out, you know, I'm eating use metaphors
- 1:35:31to get through that. Exactly.
- 1:35:33And again, like, I just want to like, say, thank you guys for
- 1:35:37sharing that vulnerability because it's so hard, and, and
- 1:35:41thank you for, you know, putting yourselves out there for
- 1:35:45creating songs that are about hardships like that.
- 1:35:48And really also, you can hear at any moment in time, right?
- 1:35:52When you're in your Downs, when you're in your ups and it's a
- 1:35:55good reminder of that, I've just removed.
- 1:35:57Finding yourself be there for yourself, be vulnerable.
- 1:36:01Don't be afraid to open up, continue to push on forward and
- 1:36:05getting through that. Yeah, exactly, man.
- 1:36:07It's only up from here, you know, the trains been steady
- 1:36:13Trucking along, you know, I mean, so yeah, into the stories,
- 1:36:16we go, it's such a great video. Great song, great content for
- 1:36:19those who speak Spanish and those, you know, I mean, who can
- 1:36:22understand it. I know a lot of people really
- 1:36:25appreciated that song, you know, a lot of hint there.
- 1:36:28Raza. I've hid himself from all over
- 1:36:30the state. All over all over about about
- 1:36:32that song because we like again we like to mix it up an English
- 1:36:35Spanish, you should we get somebody that can speak another
- 1:36:38language to know like that work with everybody man.
- 1:36:42Most definitely, we have a new video called The Good Life
- 1:36:44coming out some way to chill. Yeah, cuz I know I saw that.
- 1:36:48I was about to mention that those are some of your guys's
- 1:36:50up-and-coming works, right? Yeah, we wanted also talk about
- 1:36:54other up-and-coming works to that.
- 1:36:57We have Talked about yet. Yes.
- 1:36:59So I spy with my little eye that I heard you guys are trying to
- 1:37:03do a podcast. Yes, we are what?
- 1:37:09Yes, please tell us about your upcoming project.
- 1:37:11Well, right now, A man, we're in the early stages of getting our
- 1:37:14podcast jumping off. You know we got great
- 1:37:17influencers like you guys here in our local area, that's right.
- 1:37:22Got to give you guys your flowers like oh she found an old
- 1:37:24school ReverbNation. Oh, there it is.
- 1:37:28Dang, that. That's all.
- 1:37:30That's all our tracks. I said, man, if you click on the
- 1:37:34all music right there that yeah, that's the proof in the pudding,
- 1:37:38right there, those are. Those are all, that's all,
- 1:37:41that's all good stuff. Right there Then.
- 1:37:43Spdf fucked a speedy. Yes, that song we did that song.
- 1:37:48Yeah, we have a whole catalog man.
- 1:37:51It's just, you know, again as a MySpace days in the early days
- 1:37:53were like, people weren't buying Beats.
- 1:37:55Yeah, yeah. I'm saying people the game.
- 1:37:57It just. Isn't like that.
- 1:37:58I mean the game's evolved over the last 10 to 12 years I mean
- 1:38:03in Leaps and Bounds man. So you know what I mean?
- 1:38:06So now like again we're paying for all our beats.
- 1:38:09All our shit that you see now videos and and what we are
- 1:38:13putting on our YouTube page and Spotify and all that stuff, man.
- 1:38:16Everything's from scratch. Yeah.
- 1:38:17Well we didn't know, I wish we would have known better earlier
- 1:38:22you know but but now the ball is rolling.
- 1:38:24We got because of the footwork in the networking.
- 1:38:26We got We've got photographers. We got Studios before.
- 1:38:30We didn't. We just had our closet and an
- 1:38:33old-ass box computer. Yeah.
- 1:38:34You know, me. So you just like, you don't
- 1:38:36freaking Cuomo and it will say it, it's dope.
- 1:38:38It's still out there like that laptops and stuff, but like, but
- 1:38:42like to go from from your mom's basement.
- 1:38:44Like I said, in that song into the surgery, go like, you know,
- 1:38:48just come a long way from wrapping in my mom's basement.
- 1:38:50Yeah. You know what I mean?
- 1:38:51You know, I mean Studios, I'm seeing Professional Engineers in
- 1:38:53California all over. Oh yeah.
- 1:38:56And it's just like, how the I get here.
- 1:38:58Yeah you know I mean but yeah the podcast man the house of
- 1:39:02Science and podcast that is the name of it.
- 1:39:04Yeah. And the idea kind of formed from
- 1:39:08a mom and pop shop in Salina you be able to go in there by your
- 1:39:12CDs order CDs in their records, you go by your stereos, you by
- 1:39:16your subs, your belly button ring.
- 1:39:18Yeah you know you know you're smoking, you're sick, single
- 1:39:20cigarette stuff like that. Maybe it was called the house of
- 1:39:23Sight and Sound. Yeah, and I remember when I
- 1:39:25strolled in there, I had got my first gonna wrap They actually
- 1:39:28had area since you've gone. All right, right, the man
- 1:39:33labeled you gonna read? You're like God told me that
- 1:39:35this part right here is for me. That's what I'm saying.
- 1:39:38That the stories wild, right? And I remember my first CD was a
- 1:39:43mr. Criminal CD.
- 1:39:44Okay. And then we'll look what
- 1:39:45happened. What happened?
- 1:39:46Like? Yeah, I want to say about eight
- 1:39:48seven, eight years later. Yeah, I was buying DVDs.
- 1:39:51Watch, it was creasing up. My Davis's cleaning, my Cortez
- 1:39:55shoes is ironing my bandana out to the These guys.
- 1:39:58Yeah, go and buy the DVDs and CDs at the house assigned sound.
- 1:40:02Yeah. So it would end.
- 1:40:03So they closed that down the police, shut it down.
- 1:40:05But we everybody in the city had great memories from that place.
- 1:40:08Yeah, you know what I mean? And like I would see local
- 1:40:10talent up there. That's how I was like man.
- 1:40:12We got famous rappers here. Yeah.
- 1:40:14You know, like the jackster out of Wichita, I mean there was a
- 1:40:17lot of older guys but doing it, you know, so then all those
- 1:40:20seeds were planted. Then yeah, so the how science
- 1:40:22sound podcast. The idea behind it is to bring
- 1:40:26everybody together to talk about our common Schmidt's again, like
- 1:40:29what you guys are giving people a platform to be heard because
- 1:40:33you know, everyone's running wild right now the on the west
- 1:40:35coast with all these podcasts. Oh yeah, I mean every it's just
- 1:40:38blowing up right now it's just like you got your leading the
- 1:40:41charge. There's other people leading the
- 1:40:42charge right now, you know? I mean, it's like we have to get
- 1:40:44our foot in here for our people for for the people.
- 1:40:47I know who have been pushing for cheap for the Chicano movement.
- 1:40:50Yeah. And there's, there's just so
- 1:40:52much are finally here in the Midwest.
- 1:40:54That is untapped untapped it's unbelievable.
- 1:40:57The R&B artists that we have been able to work with over each
- 1:41:00other some BJ. Yes, shots out the bomb.
- 1:41:02I love art. I love art.
- 1:41:05I got a new record coming out. So much baby, baby J.
- 1:41:08Yeah, that's next on the list. It just just so many great
- 1:41:15people. I mean, there was even a
- 1:41:18musician. I cannot remember her name, but
- 1:41:20I had performed over at Rock Island and she was like, I think
- 1:41:26it was a new music Tuesday, as or something like That had been
- 1:41:28a in and this chick was amazing. Amazing.
- 1:41:34But the biggest thing that people were critiquing on,
- 1:41:36right? Like when the when the panel was
- 1:41:39talking it was about original instrumentals and your stage
- 1:41:45presence and all that stuff. And then I go just goes in with
- 1:41:48the confidence that you build in yourself, right?
- 1:41:51And I feel like the house of Science and podcast is going to
- 1:41:54be great because it also helps build the confidence of the
- 1:41:56local musician. Ins who are really?
- 1:42:01They are amazing and they know it but they also have not been
- 1:42:06out there like that and so it's kinda scary thing and so it kind
- 1:42:10of is a great you know way to introduce them into the world of
- 1:42:14entertainment. So way of not so scary back.
- 1:42:17Yeah I mean that that's how I'm seeing it.
- 1:42:20Yeah. I mean because again I think
- 1:42:25with the music and everything I just see As is giving when you
- 1:42:30give, you know, me, you can receive.
- 1:42:32Yeah. You know, I mean, so with the
- 1:42:33podcast is just again it's just giving people a chance to be
- 1:42:37heard their music, their testimonies, because again, I
- 1:42:40have my own testimony. Yeah, I mean, and I bet if we
- 1:42:43sit down again, we're gonna hear a lot even more of that.
- 1:42:46Yeah, even from you guys, you know me, I like to have you guys
- 1:42:49on it once. Every year.
- 1:42:52I would love it. You know, you guys, No one
- 1:43:03really. Let me tell you.
- 1:43:35That is a superpower that is it's a, it's a superpower.
- 1:43:40Oh yep. So we do always we always do
- 1:43:43lightning round at the end. I don't know if you guys heard
- 1:43:45it and smokes is episode. Okay, so we do, we do lightning
- 1:43:49round. So basically we told you a
- 1:43:51question and you just blurt out what you think.
- 1:43:54Okay. All right guys.
- 1:43:55Get ready. Okay.
- 1:43:56So this This is one. If you could have any
- 1:43:59superpower, what would it be? Flying mind if I had a
- 1:44:06superpower. Yeah, I say I have one, I say
- 1:44:10it's being an empath that right there is a superpower in itself
- 1:44:16because I put a lot of hard, you know, you gotta love heart, no
- 1:44:24matter what battle of Hardman and I just give people the
- 1:44:27benefit of the doubt even if you hurt me.
- 1:44:29Yeah, I mean, especially if I love you, if I got nothing, if I
- 1:44:31got genuine love for you, You know what I mean?
- 1:44:34Like so I think that's my superpower.
- 1:44:36Yeah, I have the can harness and now I realize it more now yeah,
- 1:44:40over these past nine months that like because you know always
- 1:44:43again I always had that some sort of a not to get long story
- 1:44:46and thing but you know I just I don't know, I just feel like I
- 1:44:50don't say judge, I don't know what it is man.
- 1:44:52I can't really put my finger on it but since I just I think I
- 1:44:56realize now like it's a really shed that ego.
- 1:44:59Yeah you go this man and just you know you know saying And
- 1:45:03yeah, so yeah, I think yeah, the only reason why I would I wish I
- 1:45:09could fly is because the cost of air flights.
- 1:45:13Oh, hell yeah. I've been traveling a lot more.
- 1:45:18And, you know, even just even just to commuting all over the
- 1:45:21place. Oh yeah, my business.
- 1:45:23I wish I could. I say right now for me it's the
- 1:45:58good life, good life and you guys so much fun.
- 1:46:01I say yeah, it's it's just a good.
- 1:46:03I like collaborating with people on stage, it shows.
- 1:46:05Again, it shows that Unity shows that on the on the, on the
- 1:46:08Greeley and the greatly. Yeah, okay, look at her.
- 1:46:11Yeah man, we had a great time up there man.
- 1:46:13But I'd say the good life here and that's right now as were
- 1:46:16actively on Ruby on the road next weekend.
- 1:46:20So yeah be the good life for me that's that's my number one
- 1:46:23right now. I'd say Pachuca and action.
- 1:46:25It is my favorite and in all and the best best part about Pachuca
- 1:46:30and action is, you can only hear it live.
- 1:46:32Yeah. I do not have it released on all
- 1:46:36platforms. Yeah.
- 1:46:37I do not have it on any other like SoundCloud, anything like
- 1:46:40that? No.
- 1:46:40Yeah, it will be released on all platforms when we're done with
- 1:46:44our album. Yeah.
- 1:46:45But as of right now, it that, that's, that's my favorite.
- 1:46:49That's my favorite sauces. South City for cooking up that
- 1:46:52instrumental for me with electric guitar.
- 1:46:54Yeah. It's Amazing it.
- 1:46:56Inspires it inspires anybody who listens to it.
- 1:47:00It's just it is it is my call to action for fuck.
- 1:47:06Yeah. For all Pachuca, all Patrick has
- 1:47:09and pachucos out there to step up and to lead, by example, and
- 1:47:15that's what the whole gosh darn song is about, and it's amazing.
- 1:47:19And so yeah, that is my favorite song of all time to 11, I love
- 1:47:22it. Who is your favorite?
- 1:47:25A well time, my favorite one. You can say but let me say this

- 1:48:20I do. Yeah, she's making her come back
- 1:48:28as far as music goes. She is just as amazing as she
- 1:48:31was when I was growing on man. Ask him to be and that's what
- 1:48:35and that's what I hope and that's what I aspire to honestly
- 1:48:38is to not skip a beat just like Missy Elliott.
- 1:49:03What's a conspiracy theory that you believe is real aliens
- 1:49:08aliens? Okay, I'll let it pass another
- 1:49:11one conspiracy theory that I believe is real.

- 1:49:51And why? And I got to meet her in person.
- 1:50:00Yeah, shoutouts with rosewater. Yeah, I would be her for a day
- 1:50:04because she is, she is the epitome of what a person who
- 1:50:12truly loves all humanity is who doesn't see color and she
- 1:50:19doesn't, she does not mind speaking, her mind and the most,
- 1:50:23uh, you know, most elegant. David.
- 1:50:26But firm way possible. And that's how she's been able
- 1:50:29to you know, March alongside Cesar Chavez and continue to
- 1:50:34carry on his legacy and continue to scare the crap out of people,
- 1:50:39a 90-plus years old. Let's go, that's who I am.

- 1:51:31know, not a teenager. No.
- 1:51:32Oh okay. As a younger kid for sure.
- 1:51:34But you know, for 15 years I was bald, you know I'm saying?

- 1:51:40back, you know. It totally is.
- 1:51:46Oh my God. Yeah, that's right.
- 1:51:47There in it. That kid.
- 1:51:52That's a haircut I had grazed but you, okay.
- 1:51:55What's your most embarrassing hairstyle?
- 1:51:57Oh, gosh. That those straight bangs that,
- 1:52:01my mom made me. Remember those along.
- 1:52:04Things are cut. That was all the ball cut.
- 1:52:07It was pretty like straight beans and then like the Doric
- 1:52:10up. Yeah, everybody had the door.
- 1:52:16The door here cut hair. So although I still would wear
- 1:52:24that proudly. What's your most memorable fan
- 1:52:26story? Memorable fan story.
- 1:52:32Oh man. Memorable fan story.
- 1:52:40It could be you today's aren't memorable.
- 1:52:44That's a pretty memorable moments
- 1:52:57when I walked into that first day, you know, getting to know
- 1:53:02the job, I seen a couple people wearing our brand are sick and
- 1:53:07twisted Brands, we have two hats t-shirts, stuff like that.

- 1:53:33happens? What happened recently?
- 1:53:36Yeah, I guess we're not. You can't use it.
- 1:53:39I want to say the most. Well, The most memorable story

- 1:54:07And there was a mom and a daughter there.
- 1:54:10Have the daughter was she was a teen aged about 15 years old.
- 1:54:15You know, she wanted a picture with me afterwards.
- 1:54:18She wanted an autograph and everything and I was telling
- 1:54:21her, you know, about how I grew up right there in that City.
- 1:54:25Yeah. And I understand how hard it is
- 1:54:27to go up there and then explain to her like my life as a single
- 1:54:31mom with those kids and then her and then her mom comes up and it
- 1:54:34was just amazing how I got, you know, two new fans and I we took
- 1:54:38I got some pictures of them. I still have them on my Phone.
- 1:54:41Because they'll because that was so important to me because I
- 1:54:45realized that Not only was I inspiring her mom to keep doing
- 1:54:50the best that she can and know that what she's doing is making
- 1:54:54a difference with her child. Yeah, but to also, you know,
- 1:54:59empowered that little girl that you can come from the city that
