  Speaker 1: you this morning. Man started off real crazy. But it's

  Speaker 1: just those little mishaps where we as people who are

  Speaker 1: striving to be successful, that makes all the difference in

  Speaker 1: the world. When you have those little minor things that

  Speaker 1: come up, you can't let the minor things stop you.

  Speaker 1: You've got to keep pressing forward. Now. Could I have

  Speaker 1: played the role of where is my car? Where is

  Speaker 1: my car? Oh? Where is my car? Instead of hustling

  Speaker 1: and grab a cab? So what am i? Am I

  Speaker 1: above a cab ride now? Or do I have to

  Speaker 1: look at the bigger picture and say, okay, I could

  Speaker 1: act like a little spoil brat some type of star

  Speaker 1: and go I don't ride in cabs or where's my car?

  Speaker 1: And then go to blaming people for not having a car.

  Speaker 1: Or do I make the adjustments because it ain't like

  Speaker 1: I ain't been in a cab before? Now, slow down?

  Speaker 1: Ain't like I ain't never been in a in a

  Speaker 1: beat up car before? Slow down, ain't ever like I

  Speaker 1: ain't never had a car and rode a bus before.

  Speaker 1: Slow down, ain't like I ain't never been homeless before,

  Speaker 1: And they have nowhere to go. Slow down. So in

  Speaker 1: those moments right there, always remember where you come from,

  Speaker 1: but even more importantly, always remember where you trying to go,

  Speaker 1: because it's important for me that I get here as

  Speaker 1: many mornings as I possibly can. It's important because that's

  Speaker 1: the goal. And so many people allow a minor things

  Speaker 1: to stop them on their road to success. And I'm

  Speaker 1: giving you this example today not to say, hey, look

  Speaker 1: at me, but to say to you, hey, listen to me.

  Speaker 1: There are going to be a lot of things that's

  Speaker 1: gonna happen along your way to being successful. And if

  Speaker 1: you allow the small things to stop you, there's no

  Speaker 1: way you'll make it. You've got to always press forward

  Speaker 1: and stop looking at the situation for what it is,

  Speaker 1: and look, sometimes you have to take your eye off

  Speaker 1: right now and put your eye in the future. You know,

  Speaker 1: God has blessed me in so many ways. I mean,

  Speaker 1: what can I say? You know, I ask God for

  Speaker 1: this syndicated show. He gives me a syndicated show. N

  Speaker 1: I act like I don't want to come to it.

  Speaker 1: Hold on, man, slow down. Did not you ask for this?

  Speaker 1: Do I not realize that there are certain people, man,

  Speaker 1: who look forward to this message in the morning. I've

  Speaker 1: heard it from people, so from the hundreds that I've

  Speaker 1: heard it for, that could represent thousands for all I know.

  Speaker 1: So if I think somebody's counting on me, I got

  Speaker 1: to try to get there and give something. So today

  Speaker 1: I didn't have any time at all to think about

  Speaker 1: what I might say. I just walk right in and

  Speaker 1: the jingle was playing, and so I decided to just

  Speaker 1: tell you about my day and maybe you can relate

  Speaker 1: it to something you going through along the way, Because

  Speaker 1: no matter who you are, you're going to have some

  Speaker 1: moment man, where things are going to happen. And like

  Speaker 1: I always tell my kids, and I just had this

  Speaker 1: conversation with my little girl, it ain't that things ain't

  Speaker 1: gonna happen. It's how you handle what happens that matters.

  Speaker 1: But it don't matter. It's how you handle what happens

  Speaker 1: that's the determining factor on where you get in life

  Speaker 1: and how soon you get there and how long you

  Speaker 1: stay there. That will always be a mishap. Something that's

  Speaker 1: gonna throw you off. There will always be something man

  Speaker 1: that could deter you. That will be something somewhere man

  Speaker 1: that will make you doubt it. Now that you know

  Speaker 1: that's gonna happen, then let's talk about how you handle

  Speaker 1: what happens, because it's going to happen. So now, what

  Speaker 1: do you do as a person when these moments come

  Speaker 1: about in your life? How do you handle? Oh? Woe

  Speaker 1: is me? Oh, I guess it wasn't meant to be. Well.

  Speaker 1: If the Lord wanted me to have this, I'd have that.

  Speaker 1: How many damn many times you hear people say that,

  Speaker 1: You know it really irks me. Man, Stop using God

  Speaker 1: as your excuse. God ain't no excuse. God is a reason.

  Speaker 1: He's a reason why the good happens. He's a reason.

  Speaker 1: He's not an excuse. God don't have no excuses, and

  Speaker 1: none of his scriptures or writings not that I he
• 4:20
  Speaker 1: just don't make excuses. I would have done this. But

  Speaker 1: you know there's a scripture that says the poor will
• 4:27
  Speaker 1: all shall always be amongst us. Why that's got to

  Speaker 1: be you. Yeah, he said the poor will always be
• 4:33
  Speaker 1: amongst us, Because you know everybody ain't gonna follow the
• 4:36
  Speaker 1: principles of success. But he also said he came to
• 4:39
  Speaker 1: give you life and give it to you more abundantly.

  Speaker 1: He said that too, But oh no, you don't want

  Speaker 1: to hear that because your life kind of trip it

  Speaker 1: out a little bit. So now what you do with it?

  Speaker 1: Now you twist it and you go to that one

  Speaker 1: little scripture that say, well, the poor shall always be
• 4:54
  Speaker 1: amongst us. Well, that's put in there because that suggests
• 4:59
  Speaker 1: in case, see that's a just in case y'all don't

  Speaker 1: want to follow the scriptures. That's just in case you
• 5:05
  Speaker 1: don't understand that faith without works is dead. That's just
• 5:09
  Speaker 1: in case you have not because you ask not. It's

  Speaker 1: just in case you don't believe and shall not doubt.

  Speaker 1: He got all that in there. But in case you

  Speaker 1: don't want to do that, there is a scripture that

  Speaker 1: tells you what will happen if you don't do it,

  Speaker 1: And here it is the poor shall always be amongst us.

  Speaker 1: But then you get that when they say, well, that's

  Speaker 1: I guess that's the Lord's will. Lord's will, really, really,

  Speaker 1: really really that's amazing. I just don't believe that about him.

  Speaker 1: I don't believe that God created your life to be
• 5:41
  Speaker 1: a life of misery. I think that we make decisions
• 5:46
  Speaker 1: along the way that cause us to have lives of misery.

  Speaker 1: But I really really just don't believe that God created

  Speaker 1: you for that. I've heard Nelson Mandela speak, and you

  Speaker 1: know you gotta go while all those years in prison, Man,
• 6:04
  Speaker 1: what was it about? When you hear him speak, you
• 6:07
  Speaker 1: understand what it was about. He said, he always knew
• 6:11
  Speaker 1: he would be free one day. Now, what he said
• 6:14
  Speaker 1: he never knew was he said, he never knew that
• 6:17
  Speaker 1: he would be the president of that country. Oh my goodness,

  Speaker 1: what a long way around. But he could have set
• 6:26
  Speaker 1: there and got involved in prison activities that wasn't up
• 6:30
  Speaker 1: to Paw and things like that. And they said whenever
• 6:34
  Speaker 1: young inmates used to come in. He was telling the
• 6:36
  Speaker 1: story one time of how young inmates used to come
• 6:38
  Speaker 1: into the prison. They all sit around and talk to
• 6:41
  Speaker 1: him about what they were doing and how many kids
• 6:43
  Speaker 1: they had in their lives, and it helped them keep
• 6:45
  Speaker 1: track of it outside a little bit, and it kept
• 6:48
  Speaker 1: a sense of time for them, and it reminded me
• 6:51
  Speaker 1: to talk about what they left behind, and it kept
• 6:53
  Speaker 1: them going because something was greater on the other side.

  Speaker 1: Had he allowed that to him, had he allowed the imprisonment,

  Speaker 1: which is a pretty major deal. Oh, by the way,
• 7:05
  Speaker 1: then guess what he would have never been the Nelson
• 7:08
  Speaker 1: Mandela that we know today, a martyr, a leader, a
• 7:11
  Speaker 1: great force. People want to go around him. Even people
• 7:14
  Speaker 1: that imprisoned him could not understand his staunch strength, his faith,
• 7:20
  Speaker 1: his unwavering commitment. They couldn't understand it. So things are
• 7:25
  Speaker 1: going to happen in your life, but it's how you
• 7:26
  Speaker 1: handle what happens doesn't matter. So keep pushing, y'all. Don't
• 7:29
  Speaker 1: let the little things get in the way, Okay, And

  Speaker 1: if you just sometimes you just don't know. I got

  Speaker 1: in a cab thinking I wasn't gonna make it, but

  Speaker 1: at least let's go see, let's try. I made it. Now.

  Speaker 1: Guess what that gives me? Another piece of information that

  Speaker 1: I have and all I had to see it again today?

  Speaker 1: Guess what I said today? Man, sometime when it looked

  Speaker 1: like you ain't gonna make it, just go ahead on anywhere. Now.

  Speaker 1: I could still be back there at the hotel talking

  Speaker 1: about where my car, but I got up in here
