- 0:18Speaker 4: during an Invasion Day rally.

- 0:26Speaker 4: one on the Aussie music charts.
- 0:29Speaker 3: And guess what Triple J might soon be forced to
- 0:31Speaker 3: play it. Angela Mollard is coming up.
- 0:34Speaker 4: Former Home Secretary Suella Braverman has become the third Conservative
- 0:38Speaker 4: MP in less than two weeks to defect to reform
- 0:41Speaker 4: UK Kosher Gada will tell us what it means for
- 0:43Speaker 4: the Tories. Donald Trump sends his borders our Tom Homan
- 0:47Speaker 4: to Minneapolis to directly take control of ICE operations.
- 0:51Speaker 3: Alex Stein has the.
- 0:52Speaker 4: Latest and of course left He's losing it as anti
- 0:56Speaker 4: ICE activists freak out.
- 1:00Speaker 5: Coming after me because they use bad language.
- 1:04Speaker 6: You I'm on the right side of this.
- 1:07Speaker 7: You.
- 1:07Speaker 4: But first, the Left couldn't help but offend the vast
- 1:10Speaker 4: majority of us who love this country.
- 1:12Speaker 3: On Australia Day, or as they call it, Invasion Day.
- 1:17Speaker 4: Vision obtained by the Curier Mail shows Indigenous man Mugiti
- 1:21Speaker 4: addressing the crowd while holding an Australian flag before lighting
- 1:24Speaker 4: it on fire and dropping it to the ground. A
- 1:27Speaker 4: police spokesperson said Queensland Police were aware of the incident
- 1:31Speaker 4: but are not considering charges now. Look, you won't be
- 1:34Speaker 4: shocked to hear that the Greens are all for the
- 1:36Speaker 4: desecration of our flag. Greens counselor Trina Massey said First
- 1:40Speaker 4: Nations people had a right to act however they.
- 1:42Speaker 3: Want on a day of morning. Give me a break.
- 1:46Speaker 4: Johnny now Is News Corps senior writer Patrick Carline and
- 1:49Speaker 4: former Labor MP Michael Danby. Great to see you both,
- 1:52Speaker 4: Thanks for joining me. Happy New Year and look, you know, Patrick,
- 1:56Speaker 4: as I said, the Left can't help themselves. Should it
- 1:59Speaker 4: be a criminal offense in your view to desecrate the
- 2:02Speaker 4: Australian flag.
- 2:05Speaker 8: Look what you're doing when you burn the Australian flag's
- 2:08Speaker 8: basically putting ninety nine percent of Australia against you.
- 2:11Speaker 1: The rest of it.
- 2:12Speaker 8: It doesn't represent Australian values and I think there's been
- 2:15Speaker 8: I think the Queensland premier earlier today talked about he's
- 2:19Speaker 8: in support of a ban on burning the flag and
- 2:21Speaker 8: I think if you do surveys on days like today,
- 2:25Speaker 8: you get overwhelming support for banging it because who is
- 2:28Speaker 8: moved to try and burn the symbol of our unity?
- 2:32Speaker 8: I mean is it is a terrible thing to do,
- 2:34Speaker 8: very offensive and it's a stunt every time. And it's
- 2:38Speaker 8: always from the left, isn't it.
- 2:39Speaker 3: It's always from the left.
- 2:41Speaker 4: They always resort to violence, it seems, Michael, when you
- 2:44Speaker 4: know people disagree with them, they can't just have a
- 2:46Speaker 4: proper discussion like normal people. They resort to these sorts
- 2:50Speaker 4: of stunts.
- 2:53Speaker 9: I think you exposing them and naming that particular person
- 2:57Speaker 9: is the best disinfectant to this kind of behavior.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Your Danika.
- 3:03Speaker 9: If we ban there might be afraid that a whole
- 3:05Speaker 9: lot of them would do it to attract publicity in martyrdom.
- 3:09Speaker 9: But I really think people who do this kind of
- 3:12Speaker 9: unpatriotic stuff on Australia Day will to be exposed and
- 3:15Speaker 9: have the searchlight of public opinion put on them.
- 3:18Speaker 3: Yeah, I couldn't agree more.
- 3:19Speaker 4: I think it's a disgrace and it is it is
- 3:21Speaker 4: offensive to the vast majority of us who love this
- 3:23Speaker 4: country and as you said, Patrick, love our values. And
- 3:26Speaker 4: I just want to compare that to scenes we saw
- 3:28Speaker 4: in Cronulla in Sydney last night.
- 3:30Speaker 3: Have a look at this. Thousands turned out to celebrate.
- 3:33Speaker 4: I mean, the sheer number of people who said, Yep,
- 3:36Speaker 4: this is our country. Let's get down onto the beach,
- 3:39Speaker 4: no fights, no protests, Patrick, And you know, it reminded
- 3:43Speaker 4: me of that recent IPA poll that found the majority
- 3:45Speaker 4: of Ozzie's Onetown National Day celebrated on January twenty six,
- 3:49Speaker 4: and it was actually been led by younger people, by
- 3:52Speaker 4: that younger generation.
- 3:55Speaker 10: That's right.
- 3:55Speaker 8: Look, there are some awful scenes yesterday in the protests
- 3:58Speaker 8: across a lot of the capitals cities. But against that,
- 4:01Speaker 8: I think Australia was sort of Reganiant's mojo. I think
- 4:04Speaker 8: people are apt accepting it again as a gentle celebration
- 4:09Speaker 8: of what you and I and everyone else thinks as
- 4:13Speaker 8: of being Australian and celebrating that and being unified. So
- 4:18Speaker 8: I think Australia has definitely got his legs back. And
- 4:20Speaker 8: you look at those numbers, as you say, with young people,
- 4:23Speaker 8: that's great looking for the future. But you still have
- 4:25Speaker 8: these mal contents who kick up and create rebels on
- 4:29Speaker 8: Australia Day.
- 4:31Speaker 4: Yeah, and I want to get to some of those
- 4:32Speaker 4: protests that you mentioned shortly. But Michael, I mean, isn't
- 4:35Speaker 4: it great to see those scenes in Sydney And they
- 4:37Speaker 4: were also similar scenes elsewhere in the country. And I
- 4:40Speaker 4: just wonder if you know the events of the last
- 4:42Speaker 4: few years, particularly after.
- 4:44Speaker 3: Bondi, it's actually brought the country together.
- 4:47Speaker 9: What do you think, Well, sadly that what happened at
- 4:51Speaker 9: Bondi people together. I like those scenes at Cronulla too.
- 4:56Speaker 9: I remember once Stanika, when I wrote to every constituent
- 5:01Speaker 9: in Port Melbourne by Facebook and email that the local
- 5:05Speaker 9: green wanted to close down Australia Day.
- 5:08Speaker 1: The council immediately collapsed.
- 5:09Speaker 9: Because they don't want people to know that they're up
- 5:13Speaker 9: to these kind of things. So I think the number
- 5:14Speaker 9: of councils and rat bags who are trying to close
- 5:17Speaker 9: down Australia Day have ceased.
- 5:19Speaker 1: And it's interesting even woolies have given.
- 5:22Speaker 9: Put up their hands and have started distributing Australia Day material.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Of course you got to pay for it.
- 5:28Speaker 4: Yeah, Well, as I say, go woke, go broke, so
- 5:31Speaker 4: I think Woolies learnt the lessons of the past.
- 5:35Speaker 3: Now look, let's talk about those rallies.
- 5:36Speaker 4: There were some shocking scenes at the March for Australia
- 5:39Speaker 4: rally in Sydney, which was hijacked by alleged neo Nazis.
- 5:43Speaker 4: One man was charged for alleged hate speech after speaking
- 5:47Speaker 4: at an open mic session, and over in Melbourne police
- 5:50Speaker 4: are investigating an incident of racial abuse where a man
- 5:52Speaker 4: allegedly performed a Nazi salute.
- 5:55Speaker 3: Patrick.
- 5:56Speaker 4: The thing is these protests, these Marches for Australia, they
- 6:00Speaker 4: represent a big issue and that is that they're calling
- 6:02Speaker 4: to lower migration. And there's no doubt the majority of
- 6:05Speaker 4: Ozsies want to see lower migration. But the problem is
- 6:08Speaker 4: is that they're being hijacked by alleged Neo Nazis, which
- 6:11Speaker 4: I think is a shame because the overall theme is
- 6:14Speaker 4: lower migration.
- 6:16Speaker 3: But it's become a far right disgrace.
- 6:20Speaker 10: That's right.
- 6:21Speaker 8: Look, immigration is such an important issue. Everybody has a
- 6:24Speaker 8: view on us. It gets very emotional and that demands
- 6:28Speaker 8: sensible discussion. When you have these extreme right figures coming
- 6:32Speaker 8: out and really saying dreadful things as they did yesterday.
- 6:36Speaker 8: It really does hijack. I think you used the word hijack.
- 6:38Speaker 8: It's the right word. The whole debate gets hijacked by
- 6:41Speaker 8: these extreme elements. And look, we're sick of extremists in Australia.
- 6:45Speaker 8: We've had extremists going for you since October twenty three.
- 6:49Speaker 8: We want sensible debates about things that really matter to
- 6:52Speaker 8: an awful lot of Australians, such as immigration.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely, I think that.
- 6:57Speaker 4: Honestly, it's a vote driving issue now, Michael, along with
- 7:01Speaker 4: cost of living that people do want to see lower migration.
- 7:04Speaker 4: And yes, you can protest about it that you want
- 7:07Speaker 4: lower migration. But the problem is when the message is
- 7:11Speaker 4: now being hijacked by alleged neo Nazis.
- 7:15Speaker 1: Daniki, you, me.
- 7:16Speaker 9: And Patrick can all be in favor of lower immigration figures.
- 7:20Speaker 9: I noticed the ABC is claiming that they've declined in
- 7:24Speaker 9: the last seven quarters, but they were far too high
- 7:28Speaker 9: for far too long. The problem is the very politically naive,
- 7:34Speaker 9: or inexperienced or just dumb organizers of these rallies have
- 7:38Speaker 9: open mics where they discredit the anti immigration or lower
- 7:42Speaker 9: immigration issue by letting these nutcase far right fools take
- 7:49Speaker 9: the mic and pretend that they're part of the rally.
- 7:52Speaker 1: So if you're organizing an.
- 7:53Speaker 9: Anti immigration or lower immigration rally, do not give a
- 7:57Speaker 9: platform to neo Nazis.
- 7:59Speaker 4: Absolutely, do not give a platform for it, because it
- 8:02Speaker 4: just takes the real messages out that needs to be discussed. Look,
- 8:06Speaker 4: let's talk about the Liberal Party leadership. What a week
- 8:08Speaker 4: it's been. Andrew Hasty and Angus Taylor are fronting up
- 8:12Speaker 4: as the contenders possibly to topple Susan Lee, and there
- 8:16Speaker 4: are conversations over now whether they'll actually unite and launch
- 8:19Speaker 4: a joint bid. Lee will remain as opposition leader if
- 8:21Speaker 4: no one puts forward a motion during Tuesday's party room
- 8:24Speaker 4: meeting that's in a week from today, Patrick, Look, it
- 8:29Speaker 4: does seem like Susan Lee's days are numbered, There's no
- 8:32Speaker 4: doubt about it.
- 8:33Speaker 3: How do you see this playing out?
- 8:37Speaker 8: Look, it's difficult to say at this point, Danika. I mean, look,
- 8:40Speaker 8: it's been a slow motion car crash that goes back
- 8:42Speaker 8: many months. The Liberal Party has been disarrayed, being fragmented.
- 8:47Speaker 8: You've got the conservatives on one side, you've got the
- 8:49Speaker 8: moderates on the other. No one can sort of agree
- 8:53Speaker 8: to sort of unite under one banner. I think Susan
- 8:56Speaker 8: Lee's in big trouble. I think it's probably a two
- 8:59Speaker 8: horse It's very difficult to say at this stage who's
- 9:03Speaker 8: going to get it, and we're going to really have
- 9:05Speaker 8: to wait. Like all of this sort of debarcle, it's
- 9:08Speaker 8: all in slow motion. We should be holding the government
- 9:11Speaker 8: to account. We should be talking about what governments are
- 9:14Speaker 8: doing and what they're not doing. It's happened in Victoria
- 9:16Speaker 8: and it's happened at a federal level over many months.
- 9:19Speaker 11: Now.
- 9:20Speaker 3: Yeah, look, you're spot on. It's interesting as well, Michael.
- 9:23Speaker 4: A number of the moderates in the Liberal Party have
- 9:25Speaker 4: come out this morning they say no, no, we're all
- 9:27Speaker 4: behind Susan Lee. There's going to be no challenge. It's
- 9:30Speaker 4: all good, but clearly there needs to be some sort
- 9:33Speaker 4: of level of change.
- 9:35Speaker 3: There's no doubt.
- 9:36Speaker 1: They're going to say that Tonika, she's their woman. Now.
- 9:40Speaker 9: I'm not a big fan of Angus Taylor, the American
- 9:45Speaker 9: comedian on Australian to call in the phrase charisma bypass,
- 9:51Speaker 9: but Andrew Hasty, I do feel sorry for him. He
- 9:54Speaker 9: lives in West Australia, he's got a young family, he's
- 9:57Speaker 9: the obvious man. Didn't you marvel at what he seid
- 10:00Speaker 9: response to Donald Trump's denigration of the forty seven Australian
- 10:04Speaker 9: heroes who were killed fighting with the Americans in Afghanistan.
- 10:07Speaker 9: What a big person Andrew was to say that that's
- 10:11Speaker 9: the way. Even if you're a conservative, you don't have
- 10:14Speaker 9: to agree with Donald Trump. He's obviously the coming man.
- 10:17Speaker 9: But I hope for his sake that he doesn't grab
- 10:19Speaker 9: the poison chalice of the liberal leadership too early.
- 10:22Speaker 4: No, look, that's a fair point, and I do wonder
- 10:24Speaker 4: how it would go having an opposition leader based in
- 10:27Speaker 4: Western Australia. But again, if he's the man for the job,
- 10:30Speaker 4: and I think he's a very strong conservative, If he
- 10:33Speaker 4: is a man, I just hope that it brings some
- 10:35Speaker 4: life to conservative politics, which we so desperately need now. Look,
- 10:39Speaker 4: universities are rebelling against Labour's new education watch dog. This
- 10:43Speaker 4: proposed Australian Tertiary Education Commission would oversee university funding and
- 10:48Speaker 4: student numbers by negotiating agreements with every UNI.
- 10:51Speaker 3: But we've got universities.
- 10:53Speaker 4: Australian out complaining that the legislation to establish it would
- 10:56Speaker 4: give the Federal Education Minister Jason Clair, too much can
- 11:00Speaker 4: over funding and research. Patrick, is this overreach or fair
- 11:04Speaker 4: enough in your view?
- 11:07Speaker 8: Look, I think unis have looked poor for a number
- 11:09Speaker 8: of years now. They've looked like the playthings of the left.
- 11:12Speaker 8: As one of the vice chancellors said, the perception has
- 11:15Speaker 8: become they've been too tolerant to the intolerant when it
- 11:19Speaker 8: comes to pro Palestine protesters in the past couple of years.
- 11:23Speaker 8: And you've got academics now saying I'm not going to
- 11:26Speaker 8: cite another academic who disagrees with me on issues such
- 11:31Speaker 8: as Gaza. I mean, that's not about pursuing excellence, that's
- 11:34Speaker 8: about ideology. I think the unis really have got hamstrung,
- 11:38Speaker 8: getting wrapped up in ideologies and trying to sort of
- 11:41Speaker 8: satisfy niche groups within the universities at the expense of
- 11:46Speaker 8: better education.
- 11:47Speaker 3: Oh look, I mean universities have been an absolute cess pit,
- 11:51Speaker 3: let's be honest.
- 11:52Speaker 4: For the last two years, it's been a disgrace. So no,
- 11:56Speaker 4: I understand, Michael. I want to ask you about Iran.
- 11:59Speaker 4: This is a very important story and Iranian news publication
- 12:02Speaker 4: is reporting that over thirty six thousand people have been
- 12:05Speaker 4: killed during the height of the protests that took place
- 12:08Speaker 4: earlier this month, and it says that based on the data,
- 12:11Speaker 4: it makes the killings the bloodiest massacre of civilians during
- 12:14Speaker 4: street protests over a two day period in history, and
- 12:17Speaker 4: Time magazines reporting the death toll is over thirty thousand.
- 12:21Speaker 3: It's getting worse. Michael. You know, I just wonder.
- 12:24Speaker 4: I feel like the US could have, you know, almost
- 12:27Speaker 4: could have stopped this.
- 12:28Speaker 3: But how do you see this playing out.
- 12:32Speaker 9: The biggest massacre in history of the same nature and
- 12:35Speaker 9: size took place this day in nineteen forty two in
- 12:39Speaker 9: the Kiev Cemetery, when the Nazis lined up all of
- 12:43Speaker 9: the Jews of Kiev and murdered thirty two thousand of
- 12:45Speaker 9: them in one shot, one series of shootings. So this
- 12:50Speaker 9: is terrible. If this is of that size, what a
- 12:53Speaker 9: dreadful regime to do this to your own people. But
- 12:56Speaker 9: it just shows you the effect, unfortunately, of the American
- 12:59Speaker 9: icelationists Tucker Carlson, Candas Owens and maybe even JD Events.
- 13:07Speaker 9: If the only restraint on Trump is that his isolation
- 13:11Speaker 9: is right flank back in America, any righteous president previously
- 13:16Speaker 9: would have been able to hit the headquarters of the
- 13:19Speaker 9: IRGC and the besiege and allow the people who have
- 13:24Speaker 9: Iran to liberate themselves. So it's a strange position for
- 13:27Speaker 9: Donald to be in because he's against foreign interventions, but.
- 13:30Speaker 1: In a sense he has to do this one or
- 13:32Speaker 1: you look a fool.
- 13:33Speaker 3: That's it. I mean, he had his finger on the
- 13:35Speaker 3: pulse with this for so long.
- 13:36Speaker 4: Let's hope it doesn't loosen up, because this is absolutely shocking.
- 13:42Speaker 3: Before we let you go, I just want to change
- 13:43Speaker 3: pace really really quickly.
- 13:45Speaker 4: Patrick Ozzie Nick Kurios may be out of the Aussie Open,
- 13:48Speaker 4: but he's not out of the headlines. The night before
- 13:50Speaker 4: his second round mixed doubles match on Monday, which he lost,
- 13:53Speaker 4: he was apparently out at CBD hotspot there where you
- 13:56Speaker 4: are bub barb bamby until the early hours.
- 13:59Speaker 3: Of the morning. I mean, what's he doing, Patrick?
- 14:04Speaker 8: Look, I can almost give him a lead pass for
- 14:06Speaker 8: this one. He's got wrists, he's got saw newes and
- 14:09Speaker 8: now he's going to have a very sore head. He
- 14:12Speaker 8: lost the doubles the following afternoon. Look, he's not playing
- 14:19Speaker 8: to his best. He's not. I'd let him go on
- 14:22Speaker 8: this one. He's having fun. If you look at the footage,
- 14:24Speaker 8: everyone was having a good time. Good on him.
- 14:26Speaker 4: Yeah, I feel like he is the king of fun
- 14:28Speaker 4: this blot guard. Whether or not it translates on the
- 14:31Speaker 4: tennis court, I'm not so sure. Good to have you
- 14:34Speaker 4: both on, Michael Dan b Patrick Carline, thanks for joining
- 14:37Speaker 4: me on the show.
- 14:39Speaker 3: Joining me now is News Corp columnist Angela Mollard. Angela.
- 14:42Speaker 4: Good to see you as always. Thanks for your time.
- 14:45Speaker 4: Let's start with this song released by One Nation leader
- 14:48Speaker 4: Pauline Hanson and performed by Ossie singer and actress Holly
- 14:51Speaker 4: the Lance. It's hit number one spot on the Apple
- 14:54Speaker 4: Music iTunes Best Selling Song charts. The satirical song is
- 14:58Speaker 4: called Kiss, Kiss my arm us.
- 15:00Speaker 3: Let's have a listen.
- 15:03Speaker 6: We are respect.
- 15:10Speaker 12: The sheep another and how sell original.
- 15:25Speaker 3: Angela, I love this.
- 15:30Speaker 4: I love it because it pokes fun at the woke.
- 15:32Speaker 4: But the funniest part of it all is that if
- 15:35Speaker 4: enough copies are sold, the song could be forced to
- 15:37Speaker 4: be played on stations across the country like Triple J.
- 15:40Speaker 4: Can you imagine if the ABC had to play that?
- 15:44Speaker 13: Oh, the ABC will have an absolute conniption if they
- 15:47Speaker 13: have to play this on Triple J.
- 15:48Speaker 6: But isn't she clever.
- 15:49Speaker 13: They say that baby boomers cannot use social media, and
- 15:53Speaker 13: here is seventy one year old Pauline Hanson absolutely harnessing
- 15:58Speaker 13: the power of YouTube, the power of satire, this kind
- 16:01Speaker 13: of South Park style of animation. And this is not
- 16:05Speaker 13: the first one she's done. She's just driving these messages
- 16:08Speaker 13: home on woke issues, and whether you agree with them
- 16:11Speaker 13: or not, whether you find the offensive or not, she
- 16:14Speaker 13: is delivering a message at a time when the Coalition
- 16:17Speaker 13: has absolutely no cohesive policy or messaging themselves. And the
- 16:22Speaker 13: key thing about this, of course, is that it's shareable content.
- 16:25Speaker 13: People are actually seeing these messages, clipping them up and
- 16:29Speaker 13: sharing them, so she's getting that cut through that you
- 16:31Speaker 13: wouldn't imagine.
- 16:32Speaker 3: That's a really good point. Actually, she is harnessing the.
- 16:35Speaker 4: Power of social media and by doing that, she's actually
- 16:38Speaker 4: getting young people on board, and that is something that
- 16:41Speaker 4: the Coalition are missing right now. I think that's a
- 16:43Speaker 4: really good point. But anyway, I love that song. I
- 16:45Speaker 4: think it's hilarious.
- 16:47Speaker 3: Now we've got to talk about the Beckhams.
- 16:49Speaker 4: The family have made their first joint public appearance since
- 16:52Speaker 4: eldest child Brooklyn, went nuclear on his parents last week.
- 16:56Speaker 4: David and Victoria were joined by their three younger children, Romeo,
- 16:59Speaker 4: Cruz and Harper as Victoria received a new Acola accolade
- 17:03Speaker 4: rather by becoming a Knight of the Order of Arts
- 17:06Speaker 4: and Letters. We know that Brooklyn has said he doesn't
- 17:09Speaker 4: want to reconcile was with his family. He's accused his
- 17:12Speaker 4: parents of attacking him and his wife Nicola Peltz Angela.
- 17:15Speaker 3: Look when you.
- 17:16Speaker 4: See those photos that they certainly put on a brave
- 17:19Speaker 4: and united face today, but it can't be easy behind
- 17:22Speaker 4: the scenes.
- 17:23Speaker 13: Look to be honest, Victoria looked very fragile and very
- 17:27Speaker 13: terrified when she came out.
- 17:28Speaker 6: Of course that this was applauded for her.
- 17:30Speaker 13: She was in totally within her wheelhouse, you know, fashion
- 17:34Speaker 13: in France. She'd been to a fashion show beforehand. She'd
- 17:37Speaker 13: been there with Anna Winter, obviously the former editor in
- 17:41Speaker 13: chief of Vogue, So she was completely with people that
- 17:43Speaker 13: she was comfortable with. But she looked so uncomfortable. But
- 17:47Speaker 13: this is what Bran Beckham does best. They get the
- 17:50Speaker 13: family together. If you think about it, Janika, when David
- 17:53Speaker 13: was with there was speculation that he had cheated on her,
- 17:56Speaker 13: and you know, everything points to the fact that he
- 17:58Speaker 13: did all those years ago. She just came out fighting.
- 18:01Speaker 13: So all the time with the Beckhams, it's all about messaging.
- 18:05Speaker 13: But gosh, I so want to see that video of
- 18:08Speaker 13: her dancing at the wedding. Everyone wants it, someone must
- 18:12Speaker 13: have it. Can we please just see it?
- 18:14Speaker 6: I want to see if she really did hijack that dance.
- 18:17Speaker 3: As Brook complaimed, Yeah, release the tapes.
- 18:20Speaker 4: I say, release the tapes. We want to see what
- 18:22Speaker 4: this quote inappropriate dance was so we could put all
- 18:25Speaker 4: these speculation rumors to bed. Because the memes have been
- 18:28Speaker 4: absolutely hilarious. Let's talk about Carnie West. He's published a
- 18:32Speaker 4: whole page advertisement in the Wall Street Journal apologizing for
- 18:36Speaker 4: his anti Semitic rants. West alleged he sustained a brain
- 18:39Speaker 4: injury after a car incident in two thousand and two,
- 18:42Speaker 4: which went unnoticed at the time, and he said his
- 18:44Speaker 4: bipolar disorder caused him to be drawn toward the most
- 18:48Speaker 4: destructive symbol he could find, the swatsika.
- 18:51Speaker 3: I don't know if I believe that. Angel. It's the
- 18:54Speaker 3: old mental health excuse.
- 18:56Speaker 13: Look, it's a massive mayor culper, and I don't like
- 18:58Speaker 13: to critique people when they claim mental health is their reasoning.
- 19:03Speaker 13: But you know what, there's an apology and there is accountability.
- 19:06Speaker 13: This is two thousand and two, and some of the
- 19:08Speaker 13: things that he has said in the last twenty three
- 19:11Speaker 13: twenty four years.
- 19:13Speaker 6: Have been absolutely appalling.
- 19:14Speaker 13: Yes in the jewe hating space, in the anti seminitism
- 19:20Speaker 13: that he's shown, but also behaviors towards people like Taylor
- 19:23Speaker 13: Swift that the MTV Awards when he absolutely was mortifyingly
- 19:28Speaker 13: humiliated her.
- 19:29Speaker 6: So this behaviors gone on for a very long time.
- 19:31Speaker 13: Apparently this is this decision to take out this ad
- 19:35Speaker 13: was very much encouraged by his wife Biankerson Sorry, who
- 19:38Speaker 13: of course is Australian. She said to him, you need
- 19:40Speaker 13: to do this, but I want to see some proper
- 19:42Speaker 13: accountability from Kanye West. This is a forty eight year
- 19:45Speaker 13: old man with four children. He needs to be s
- 19:48Speaker 13: setting an example. And I don't think being able to
- 19:51Speaker 13: pay for one advert in the Wall Street Journal is
- 19:55Speaker 13: enough of a recognition of his wrongdoing.
- 19:58Speaker 4: Yeah, it certainly doesn't atone him for all the cruel
- 20:01Speaker 4: and hateful comments that he's been making over the last
- 20:03Speaker 4: few years. Exactly now cereal clout chasers who want privacy
- 20:08Speaker 4: Prince Harry and Meghan. They've appeared at the Sun Dan's
- 20:11Speaker 4: Film Festival to promote their latest documentary.
- 20:14Speaker 3: This one's called Cookie Queens.
- 20:15Speaker 4: I mean, good grief, it's not exactly enticing you to
- 20:18Speaker 4: go watch it, is it. The film follows a story
- 20:20Speaker 4: of four determined girl scouts as they navigate the multimillion
- 20:24Speaker 4: dollar business of cookie sales. But the doco is already
- 20:27Speaker 4: turning out to be yet another flop for the couple.
- 20:29Speaker 4: It failed to sell out and fill the theater at
- 20:31Speaker 4: the festival. Who would have thought, Angela, I mean, why
- 20:33Speaker 4: don't they just buger off to Montecito and stop with
- 20:36Speaker 4: these business ventures that fail every time.
- 20:39Speaker 13: Meghan is citing her Time and the Girl Guides as
- 20:44Speaker 13: the beginning of her entrepreneurialship because she managed to sell cookies.
- 20:48Speaker 13: And this is what the ethos of this film is about. Honestly,
- 20:51Speaker 13: she must sometimes go to bed at night and wonder,
- 20:54Speaker 13: how the hell did I make the decision to turn
- 20:57Speaker 13: down the Queen's offer of a Commonwealth role where she
- 21:01Speaker 13: and Harry together could have had so much power and
- 21:05Speaker 13: influence and meaning and purpose on the world stage. If
- 21:09Speaker 13: you remember, the Queen offered the couple that role. They
- 21:12Speaker 13: could have based themselves in Australia or Canada or any
- 21:15Speaker 13: Commonwealth country and had real impact. Instead, their company, which
- 21:20Speaker 13: has not been making much money, has putting out this
- 21:23Speaker 13: Girl Guide film.
- 21:24Speaker 6: Honestly, what a fool from Grace.
- 21:26Speaker 13: I think you know the potential that this couple had
- 21:29Speaker 13: and they went and completely squandered it. And you know what,
- 21:32Speaker 13: on a quiet moment at home, I think they both
- 21:35Speaker 13: know it.
- 21:36Speaker 4: I agree, I reckon deep down they know that they've
- 21:38Speaker 4: stuffed this whole thing up, and that's why they keep
- 21:40Speaker 4: coming up with these ideas.
- 21:42Speaker 3: Cookie Queens is next. I mean, good grief, Angela Mollard.
- 21:46Speaker 4: Nice to see you as always, Thanks so much for
- 21:47Speaker 4: joining me on the show. Still to come, left He's
- 21:51Speaker 4: losing it. Plus Donald Trump sends his borders are Tom
- 21:54Speaker 4: Homan to Minneapolis to take direct control of ICE operations.
- 21:59Speaker 3: Kosher Gada will join me next, and now it.
- 22:12Speaker 4: Is time for lefties losing it and CNN continues to
- 22:15Speaker 4: be the home base for all sorts of wild and
- 22:17Speaker 4: wacky characters who go on the network and spew absolute nonsense.
- 22:21Speaker 4: This lefty has gone as far as to imply that
- 22:24Speaker 4: ICE agents will soon start to put people.
- 22:27Speaker 14: In ovens, christand that that they take people to Fort
- 22:30Speaker 14: Snelling here which literally was built as a concentration camp,
- 22:33Speaker 14: and Alligator Alcatraz, which I think we can all agree
- 22:37Speaker 14: is a concentration camp. Not saying they're data. I'm not
- 22:40Speaker 14: saying they're putting people in ovens yet, but these are
- 22:43Speaker 14: concentration camps. Okay, I don't need to argue with you.
- 22:48Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 22:48Speaker 4: Yeah, Another scene in Propaganda's, this time with a pink
- 22:51Speaker 4: beanie on of course talking crap. And obviously ice agents
- 22:55Speaker 4: are not going all Hannibal Lecter. They're not cooking, baking
- 22:59Speaker 4: and marinating people in ovens when they're actually busy doing
- 23:03Speaker 4: an important job, believe it or not in Jake Tapper
- 23:05Speaker 4: or note just sits there and takes it.
- 23:07Speaker 3: I mean, it's just crazy nonsense.
- 23:09Speaker 4: Now, speaking of Hollywood's having a complete freak out, these
- 23:12Speaker 4: precious elites, actresses Natalie Portman and Olivia Wilde think they're
- 23:16Speaker 4: just so cool wearing their ice out pins silent though
- 23:22Speaker 4: on Iran, no mention on Iran.
- 23:25Speaker 3: And here is actress and serial bonker's woman Glenn Close.
- 23:29Speaker 16: Obraged and sickened by what is happening under the Trump regime,
- 23:35Speaker 16: the cruelty inhumanity and arrogance, the ferucious corruption, the cowardice,
- 23:44Speaker 16: the sickening hypocrisy, the bleatant manipulation of facts, and now
- 23:51Speaker 16: the cold blooded murder of American citizens.
- 23:56Speaker 4: Yeah, what about the rapes, the drugs, the cartels, the
- 23:59Speaker 4: illegal No, no, not sickened by all that, and the
- 24:04Speaker 4: same facts seem to have also avoided.
- 24:06Speaker 3: The brian of actress Jenna or Tega.
- 24:09Speaker 5: Absolutely devastating, and I'm moreified. I'm really encouraged by the
- 24:14Speaker 5: spirit of the American people and the people who feel
- 24:16Speaker 5: they need to say something. But the lack of any
- 24:21Speaker 5: real resolution or kind of reprimanding against the officers is
- 24:28Speaker 5: incredibly writening and disappointing to see from our government.
- 24:32Speaker 4: Right, and remember alleged singer Moby No, he's barely memorable,
- 24:36Speaker 4: is he?
- 24:37Speaker 3: And here's a reason for it.
- 24:39Speaker 17: What are we going to do about it? One protest.
- 24:43Speaker 17: It's a constitutionally established right, and it's a right that
- 24:46Speaker 17: Trump and his administration are trying to take away from us.
- 24:50Speaker 17: So whether it's protesting on the street, whether it's protesting
- 24:52Speaker 17: on social media, protesting at work, however, we need to
- 24:56Speaker 17: keep protesting to vote, not just in the upcoming midterms,
- 25:01Speaker 17: although that's very important, but in all of the special
- 25:04Speaker 17: elections that happened throughout the year three. Stop supporting the
- 25:09Speaker 17: scumbag corporations who support Trump and Ace.
- 25:14Speaker 4: Right and even British actor Will Polter weighed in and
- 25:17Speaker 4: not quite grasping the concept of illegal versus legal migration.
- 25:23Speaker 18: It's really upsetting to see people forget that, you know,
- 25:27Speaker 18: where a country that we have immigrants to thank for,
- 25:30Speaker 18: and I feel the same way about my home country
- 25:33Speaker 18: in the UK.
- 25:35Speaker 4: It's quite comical when you think about the migrant crisis
- 25:37Speaker 4: in Britain, but there's not a lot going on when
- 25:40Speaker 4: it comes to the elite. Now speaking of stupid, Minneapolis
- 25:44Speaker 4: Police Chief Brian O'Hara has insinuated that the outrage over
- 25:48Speaker 4: the Ice shooting is really based on fields.
- 25:51Speaker 2: Greater issue is even if there is an investigation that
- 25:55Speaker 2: ultimately proves that at the time of the shooting it
- 25:59Speaker 2: was legally justified, I don't think that even matters at
- 26:02Speaker 2: this point because they're just there is so much outrage
- 26:05Speaker 2: and concern around what is happening in the city.
- 26:08Speaker 4: How many said the quiet part out loud. It's all
- 26:11Speaker 4: about feels and vibes. And now to delivery nurse Lexi Lawler,
- 26:16Speaker 4: who lost her job after she posted a foul mouthed
- 26:19Speaker 4: tirade on social media where she wished White House Press
- 26:22Speaker 4: Secretary Caroline Leavitt severe medical complications during childbirth. They're really lovely,
- 26:27Speaker 4: these lefties, aren't they. And well, now she's absolutely and
- 26:31Speaker 4: completely lost the plot.
- 26:34Speaker 1: So they just murdered a man in Minnesota. They murdered
- 26:37Speaker 1: a man in Minnesota, and you.
- 26:39Speaker 5: Must be running after me because they use bad language.
- 26:44Speaker 6: You I'm on the right side of this.
- 26:46Speaker 3: You just another example of a tolerant white liberal woman.
- 26:52Speaker 3: They're always so lovely, aren't they. Now?
- 26:56Speaker 4: The hard party lifestyle of the seventies and eighties is
- 26:59Speaker 4: really showing up in the brain of former Pink Floyd
- 27:02Speaker 4: frontman Roger Waters. He was a few weeks ago backing
- 27:06Speaker 4: would you believe the oppressive Iranian regime?
- 27:10Speaker 9: So, just to be clear, you support the protesters and
- 27:13Speaker 9: you support the regime.
- 27:16Speaker 7: Yes, of course. I would love regimes where people could
- 27:20Speaker 7: protest like the good woman who was just murdered in Minneapolis,
- 27:25Speaker 7: and the government could govern for the benefit of the people.
- 27:29Speaker 7: I live in the United States, where the government does
- 27:33Speaker 7: not govern for the benefit of the people.
- 27:36Speaker 4: And showing why he's really and truly lost his marbles,
- 27:40Speaker 4: Roger Waters has backtracked.
- 27:42Speaker 7: I misspoke. I apologize. I said I support the regime.
- 27:47Speaker 7: What I support is the country of Iran and I
- 27:50Speaker 7: support its people's right to self determination. So anything that
- 27:55Speaker 7: can be done to dissuade the United States and Israel
- 28:00Speaker 7: or from starting a war with her on I would encourage.
- 28:04Speaker 7: Do I like the Ayatola whatever his name is, No,
- 28:08Speaker 7: I don't.
- 28:10Speaker 3: Yes, simple, A very easy mistake to make.
- 28:13Speaker 7: Right.
- 28:14Speaker 3: He meant the country, not the regime. All totally normal,
- 28:18Speaker 3: All totally normal.
- 28:20Speaker 4: Roger has clearly become comfortably dumb. And now to the
- 28:25Speaker 4: lefties of OZ, have a listen to this illiterate hack
- 28:29Speaker 4: right in this country in Australia who pulls up on
- 28:31Speaker 4: his bike and was having a tantrum at a family
- 28:34Speaker 4: waving the Australian flag on Australia Day.
- 28:43Speaker 19: Why do you help me?
- 28:48Speaker 3: Why don't.
- 28:50Speaker 18: I hope the white genocide does happen because you.
- 28:53Speaker 17: Guys are.
- 28:55Speaker 7: Yeah, that's all flag.
- 29:02Speaker 2: It's genocidal country.
- 29:04Speaker 18: Twenty four the highest years for Aboriginal deaths in custody
- 29:08Speaker 18: and you just stand there like a nobody waving around there.
- 29:14Speaker 4: What an absolute delight, a real national treasure right there.
- 29:18Speaker 3: Please make sure that we keep him in this country.
- 29:21Speaker 4: And it doesn't help when our own Prime minister makes
- 29:23Speaker 4: a mockery of himself. Here he is looking like he's
- 29:25Speaker 4: quite literally diving headfirst into an Aboriginal smoking ceremony. He
- 29:36Speaker 4: just can't help himself, Kenny and I wonder how much
- 29:38Speaker 4: taxpayers were charged for that. And then there's the ever
- 29:42Speaker 4: unhinged anti Australian complete wacko so called influenza Abby Chatfield,
- 29:47Speaker 4: who actually unfollows friends on social media when they celebrate
- 29:51Speaker 4: Australia Day. But this might be her brightest idea yet.
- 29:56Speaker 4: She now wants us to pay random Aboriginals reparations.
- 30:02Speaker 3: Paying the rent.
- 30:02Speaker 20: Right, if you want to pay the rent, if you
- 30:04Speaker 20: want to contribute today on Invasion Day, I'm going to
- 30:07Speaker 20: pay the rent dot net dot au I believe it is.
- 30:10Speaker 20: And you can pay the rent as reparations for us
- 30:15Speaker 20: living on Aboriginal land.
- 30:17Speaker 3: I think many of us pay enough for rent already,
- 30:20Speaker 3: But thank you for your concern, Abby joining me now
- 30:25Speaker 3: is sky New's contributor Kosher, Gada Kosha, thanks for joining me.
- 30:28Speaker 3: Let's start in the UK.
- 30:29Speaker 4: Former Home Secretary Sella Braverman has become the latest Conservative
- 30:33Speaker 4: MP to defect to Reform UK. She's actually the third
- 30:37Speaker 4: sitting Tory to join Nigel Faraja's party in the last
- 30:40Speaker 4: eleven days.
- 30:41Speaker 3: Here she was making that announcement. The truth is.
- 30:45Speaker 11: That in recent years I have found myself effectively in
- 30:48Speaker 11: a social democrat, left leaning party made up of Conservatives
- 30:53Speaker 11: in name only. There is no way on earth that
- 30:56Speaker 11: the Conservative Party will ever take the United Kingdom out
- 31:00Speaker 11: of the e s HR. And there is no way
- 31:02Speaker 11: on earth it will ever keep its promises.
- 31:05Speaker 3: To you well, Kosher. She didn't mince her words there.
- 31:09Speaker 4: If you were Tory leader, kemmy Baden not right now,
- 31:11Speaker 4: you'd be tearing your hair out. But three defections in
- 31:14Speaker 4: less than two weeks. Where does this leave the Conservatives
- 31:17Speaker 4: and what does it mean for the Tories?
- 31:21Speaker 15: It feels like realignment is in the air, Danikaz, certainly
- 31:25Speaker 15: in the UK and everywhere because all these things are connected.
- 31:28Speaker 15: This of course is an out growth of Brexit, and
- 31:31Speaker 15: they're dissatisfaction with the execution of that after the people
- 31:35Speaker 15: did very clearly vote for it. Of course, you have
- 31:37Speaker 15: the populist movement in the US and how Trump hijacked
- 31:41Speaker 15: the Republican Party much in the same way and defeated
- 31:43Speaker 15: the Bush dynasty, that Clinton dynasty, et cetera. Of course,
- 31:46Speaker 15: what we saw right here at home with the coalition
- 31:49Speaker 15: split last week and One Nation surgeon in the polls,
- 31:52Speaker 15: it's all sort of shades of the same story. And
- 31:55Speaker 15: so I think in the UK, I mean, look, their
- 31:57Speaker 15: next election isn't until a few years, so that is
- 31:59Speaker 15: a lifetime, multiple lifetimes and politics. But right now, the
- 32:03Speaker 15: Tories really really seemed to be down after an eighty
- 32:06Speaker 15: year majority, and the movement that is ascendant is populism.
- 32:10Speaker 15: Nigel Fraj is heading that and I would not be
- 32:13Speaker 15: surprised if we see more defections between now and election day.
- 32:15Speaker 4: Yeah, you're right, obviously, and it's happened here with One
- 32:18Speaker 4: Nation of course, Barnaby Joyce going over. It's fascinating the
- 32:21Speaker 4: world of conservative politics right now.
- 32:23Speaker 3: But look, let's go to the US. We need to
- 32:25Speaker 3: talk about ice.
- 32:26Speaker 4: Donald Trump is sending his borders our Tom Homan to
- 32:28Speaker 4: take control of operations in Minneapolis.
- 32:31Speaker 3: Here was White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt.
- 32:34Speaker 21: Borders are home in is in a unique position to
- 32:37Speaker 21: drop everything and go to Minnesota to continue having these
- 32:40Speaker 21: productive conversations with state and local officials. And I know
- 32:44Speaker 21: that he's catching a plane in just a few hours
- 32:46Speaker 21: to do just that at the request of the president.
- 32:50Speaker 4: This is big news, Kosher. It's been a look a
- 32:52Speaker 4: fascinating a few weeks for Ice. What sort of a
- 32:55Speaker 4: role will he have on the ground, How big of
- 32:56Speaker 4: a difference will it make.
- 33:00Speaker 15: I think the core issue that the Trump administration is
- 33:03Speaker 15: grappling with is this dichotomy where on the policy itself
- 33:06Speaker 15: around illegal immigration, they have the public support for immigration
- 33:10Speaker 15: more broadly, and it really is remarkable just in the
- 33:13Speaker 15: last decades since President Trump entered the scene, he remade
- 33:16Speaker 15: the national discourse on this issue where today seventy percent
- 33:20Speaker 15: of the country is in support of deporting all illegals,
- 33:23Speaker 15: not just the criminal, violent ones, but all of them.
- 33:25Speaker 15: So that he's got a win. But then on the
- 33:28Speaker 15: next stage of that is what that looks like. That
- 33:30Speaker 15: is where the country is split and they are losing
- 33:33Speaker 15: support by the day from the Democrats and the independents
- 33:37Speaker 15: who don't like what it looks like and the US
- 33:39Speaker 15: citizens have been shot even though they injected themselves into
- 33:41Speaker 15: it and all the rest of it. So I think
- 33:43Speaker 15: he's trying to battle the court of public opinion while
- 33:46Speaker 15: staying true to the policy win. And Tom Holman is
- 33:50Speaker 15: ultimately his guy. He's been dealing with this for twenty
- 33:54Speaker 15: plus years under multiple administrations. He's very true to the cause,
- 33:58Speaker 15: seems to be a steadier hand on the wheel in
- 34:00Speaker 15: terms of dealing with the media and the press. And
- 34:02Speaker 15: it's sort of like a change up from Greg Bovine,
- 34:04Speaker 15: who was the previous face of this and maybe has
- 34:08Speaker 15: been muddied up a little bit in the media. So
- 34:09Speaker 15: they're doing a bit of a switcher room for optics.
- 34:12Speaker 15: The real question is are they going to fundamentally change
- 34:14Speaker 15: the policy and the way that they're executing on it
- 34:17Speaker 15: or not, And that is I think where these fault
- 34:21Speaker 15: lines are drawn, and the left and the rate are
- 34:23Speaker 15: in a fever pitch on this issue.
- 34:25Speaker 4: Well, I think Trump will be seeing it as a
- 34:26Speaker 4: win that Governor Tim Wolds has finally agreed to cooperate
- 34:31Speaker 4: after many months of really being a complete delinquent. Quite
- 34:35Speaker 4: frankly when it comes to this issue, Governor Waltz. Trump
- 34:38Speaker 4: said that Governor Tim Walds called me with a request
- 34:41Speaker 4: to work together with respect to Minnesota, and you mentioned
- 34:44Speaker 4: as well Gregory Bovino, the administration's announced that he will
- 34:49Speaker 4: leave Minnesota along with some of his agents.
- 34:52Speaker 3: Have a listen to this.
- 34:54Speaker 21: If Governor Waltz and Mayor Fry implement these common sense
- 34:57Speaker 21: cooperative measures, CBP will no longer be needed to support
- 35:01Speaker 21: ICE on the ground in Minnesota. ICE in local law
- 35:03Speaker 21: enforcement will peacefully work together, as they are effectively doing
- 35:07Speaker 21: in so many other states and jurisdictions to remove violent
- 35:10Speaker 21: criminals from American neighborhoods across the country.
- 35:13Speaker 4: Look, Kosha, no doubt tensions are high following the second
- 35:16Speaker 4: fatal shooting this month in Minneapolis by immigration officials. But
- 35:20Speaker 4: good to have Walls finally on board.
- 35:22Speaker 3: He had no choice.
- 35:25Speaker 15: Yes, Now, many would say seeing is believing, because, as
- 35:29Speaker 15: politicians tend to do, there can be great phone calls
- 35:31Speaker 15: and handshakes, and then the devil's in the details. And
- 35:34Speaker 15: he is very clearly on one side of this because
- 35:36Speaker 15: he's presided over the fiasco that is illegal immigration in
- 35:40Speaker 15: the state of Minnesota over the last several years. But yes,
- 35:42Speaker 15: if they do this one narrow thing that Caroline Lovett
- 35:45Speaker 15: was alluding to over there of cooperating on detainers, and
- 35:49Speaker 15: what that specifically is is the ordered priority by the
- 35:52Speaker 15: Trump administration is of course to get the violent criminal
- 35:54Speaker 15: illegals out first and then go for the non violent illegals.
- 35:58Speaker 15: And a lot of them are in the jail. It
- 36:00Speaker 15: is known to the state and local authorities and they
- 36:03Speaker 15: willfully do not cooperate or they withhold that information from
- 36:06Speaker 15: the FEDS, who are ultimately solely in charge of immigration
- 36:09Speaker 15: policy enforcement. So that is what theoretically Tim Wallas is
- 36:13Speaker 15: now agreeing he will cooperate with That is a big
- 36:15Speaker 15: win to get those folks out if he does that.
- 36:18Speaker 15: Trump loves to give a little, take a little, that's
- 36:20Speaker 15: his negotiation style, so I would see him maybe taking
- 36:23Speaker 15: down the surge of agents or getting CBP out of
- 36:26Speaker 15: there as you mentioned, and just leaving ice in there
- 36:29Speaker 15: or something like that to try and lower the temperature,
- 36:31Speaker 15: which is a good thing for everybody. But I think
- 36:34Speaker 15: people are very scarred by what has happened in the
- 36:37Speaker 15: country over the last half century on illegal immigration, and
- 36:40Speaker 15: the proof will be in the pudding.
- 36:41Speaker 3: Well, look, that's it.
- 36:42Speaker 4: And look, the country is scarred and Donald Trump was
- 36:45Speaker 4: elected on a mandate to rid the country of illegal immigration,
- 36:49Speaker 4: so he's doing exactly what he was voted in for.
- 36:52Speaker 3: Now.
- 36:52Speaker 4: I found this next one quite interesting. The chief of
- 36:54Speaker 4: NATO has dropped a truth bomb admitting that Europe is
- 36:58Speaker 4: incapable of defending itself without America.
- 37:00Speaker 3: Have a look, and if anyone thinks here again that
- 37:04Speaker 3: the European Union or Europe's aval can dessent itself as
- 37:07Speaker 3: out to us, keep on dreaming. You count, we comet,
- 37:11Speaker 3: We need each other kosher.
- 37:13Speaker 4: That's quite a stark admission from NITA. Of course, fresh
- 37:16Speaker 4: off the back of Trump's threats to take Grainland.
- 37:19Speaker 3: Doesn't this just prove Trump right all along?
- 37:23Speaker 15: Yes, some would say he's been captain obvious or general obvious.
- 37:27Speaker 15: We should say with that, because everybody knows that the
- 37:29Speaker 15: US has underwritten security and defense for Europe since World
- 37:33Speaker 15: War Two. I would actually positive that it's probably in
- 37:36Speaker 15: Europe's best interest to move the needle towards more self reliance.
- 37:40Speaker 15: But as Markreta said, that is not easy. That these
- 37:43Speaker 15: countries are all in running on massive deaths and deficits
- 37:46Speaker 15: as we know, so is the US. But the US
- 37:47Speaker 15: still spends a massive amount on defense as an outcome
- 37:51Speaker 15: of what happened post World War two, and Europe doesn't.
- 37:54Speaker 15: And they're just not in a position to start spending three,
- 37:56Speaker 15: four or five or even ten percent of their GDP
- 37:58Speaker 15: on defense, as he mentioned over there, unless they're willing
- 38:02Speaker 15: to severely, severely put in police austerity measures, restrict their immigration,
- 38:07Speaker 15: do spending cuts across the board, cut their generous social
- 38:10Speaker 15: services and safety nets that they have, which they don't
- 38:13Speaker 15: seem to have the appetite to do, at least not yet.
- 38:15Speaker 15: And therefore they are reliant on the US and that
- 38:19Speaker 15: comes with the price. Greenland is one manifestation of it.
- 38:22Speaker 15: There might be others where the US has more power,
- 38:25Speaker 15: and if there's a president that's willing to exert that power,
- 38:28Speaker 15: such as the current one is, you might see things
- 38:30Speaker 15: like that happen that may not have been fathomable or
- 38:33Speaker 15: comprehensible to people a few short years ago.
- 38:35Speaker 3: Well that's true.
- 38:36Speaker 4: I mean he went there last week Davos, with all
- 38:39Speaker 4: these threats and then suddenly said, no, we're at peace.
- 38:41Speaker 4: I'm not taking Greenland, not imposing those tariffs. But again,
- 38:45Speaker 4: interesting admission, and it is a correct admission from NATO.
- 38:48Speaker 3: There, let's talk Iran. Look, it's getting worse.
- 38:51Speaker 4: The Iranian regime has reportedly now issued nationwide shoot to
- 38:54Speaker 4: kill at protesters. The death tolls rising, Kosher, it is
- 38:58Speaker 4: getting worse. At what point does the US have to
- 39:01Speaker 4: intervene here? Because it almost felt like the US could
- 39:04Speaker 4: have shut this down from the beginning, and it hasn't
- 39:06Speaker 4: done that yet.
- 39:07Speaker 3: How do you say this playing out?
- 39:11Speaker 15: This is a really tricky one because the death toll
- 39:13Speaker 15: is rising. It's a very opaque regime, so we never
- 39:16Speaker 15: have perfectly transfer parent information. Of course, we would hope
- 39:20Speaker 15: that the US president and his team do with better
- 39:22Speaker 15: intel assets, but be that as it may, it is
- 39:25Speaker 15: getting worse. By the same token, the US president does
- 39:29Speaker 15: not really want to get sucked into another quagmire, is
- 39:32Speaker 15: the way it's often described in the Middle East after
- 39:35Speaker 15: the failed But he and his base certainly believe and
- 39:37Speaker 15: the majority of Americans believe the failed adventurism of the
- 39:41Speaker 15: last twenty five years with the war on Terror, So
- 39:43Speaker 15: he's grappling with that. I think he's comfortable with doing
- 39:46Speaker 15: surgical strikes like the Twelve Day War, or going in
- 39:49Speaker 15: capturing Maduro here and there, and even there, he does
- 39:52Speaker 15: pay a little bit of a price politically with his
- 39:54Speaker 15: base that does not like that, because they fear that
- 39:56Speaker 15: it's a slippery slope to more interventionism. And I think
- 39:59Speaker 15: that's a lot he's walking right now. We see the
- 40:03Speaker 15: ships moving into that region, Signals being put out there.
- 40:07Speaker 15: The Iatola is reportedly in hiding because he's worried about
- 40:09Speaker 15: some saturgical strike at any moment. But then also Trump
- 40:13Speaker 15: is showing being measured that really it is not the
- 40:15Speaker 15: US's job to police the world, as henous as the
- 40:18Speaker 15: atrocities may be in the streets of Iran.
- 40:20Speaker 3: No, look, that is a fair point.
- 40:22Speaker 4: But yeah, gee, it's just it's not getting any better
- 40:25Speaker 4: over in Iran. They're really desperately fighting over there for
- 40:27Speaker 4: their freedoms, that's for sure.
- 40:30Speaker 3: Now. Look, speaking of wars, the remaining the remains.
- 40:33Speaker 4: Of the last Israeli hostage in Gaza have been found
- 40:36Speaker 4: and identified.
- 40:37Speaker 3: This is Ran Billy.
- 40:39Speaker 4: He was killed and taken into the strip on October seven,
- 40:42Speaker 4: twenty twenty three. Look, there's no doubt this brings another
- 40:46Speaker 4: end to a chapter in this massacre. I guess what
- 40:49Speaker 4: happens now is the focal point kosher. Does it pave
- 40:53Speaker 4: the way for this second phase of the ceasefire to begin.
- 40:59Speaker 15: That is certainly the promise. I think it lifts a
- 41:02Speaker 15: little bit of a political price that net Yahoo, Primister Netanya,
- 41:06Speaker 15: who had paid in terms of why fairly or not,
- 41:08Speaker 15: why it took so long to get all the hostages
- 41:10Speaker 15: and the remains out, he can finally punctuate that and
- 41:13Speaker 15: put an end to it and close that horrible chapter
- 41:16Speaker 15: in his nation's history. And yes, that was the precursor
- 41:19Speaker 15: for then opening up the crossing. The Board of Peace
- 41:23Speaker 15: met when everybody was gathered in Davos recently, and that
- 41:27Speaker 15: is sort of getting off the ground. So all these
- 41:29Speaker 15: things are coming into place, and we hope that this
- 41:32Speaker 15: is something a little bit new. I think the core
- 41:34Speaker 15: and the fundamentals of that region remain, and the danger
- 41:38Speaker 15: of the conflicts that have happened throughout time do remain.
- 41:41Speaker 15: But if the cease far holds and there are new
- 41:43Speaker 15: structures in place, like the Board of Peace and this
- 41:45Speaker 15: chapter ending, and the US president right now being more
- 41:49Speaker 15: stronger than the last one, and all the rest of
- 41:52Speaker 15: the factors that go into this, we can hope that
- 41:54Speaker 15: we're moving another step in the right direction after a
- 41:57Speaker 15: very very bad few years.
- 41:59Speaker 4: Look, absolutely no doubt that Donald Trump has made this
- 42:02Speaker 4: happen that you know, we can hopefully close this chapter
- 42:05Speaker 4: and move into phase two of the ceasefire.
- 42:07Speaker 3: And it really is thanks to the US President. I
- 42:09Speaker 3: want to end on China.
- 42:10Speaker 4: The leadership of Beijing's military is in turmoil, the Chinese
- 42:14Speaker 4: Defense Ministry said. The vice chairman of the Central Military Commission,
- 42:19Speaker 4: which controls the armed forces, is under investigation and accused
- 42:23Speaker 4: of serious violations of discipline and law. All eyes are
- 42:27Speaker 4: really now on Taiwan. Kosher where does it leave Taiwan?
- 42:30Speaker 4: Does it now de escalate that threat?
- 42:35Speaker 15: Yes, this was definitely a big news. And of course
- 42:37Speaker 15: China is another o peak regime, so it's really hard
- 42:40Speaker 15: to know the what and the why. But this person
- 42:43Speaker 15: who has removed was aristocratic almost within the party. He
- 42:47Speaker 15: was a war vat himself in the China and Vietnam War.
- 42:50Speaker 15: I think he steed something like seven years past his
- 42:53Speaker 15: retirement that he was eligible for and President she personally
- 42:56Speaker 15: tapped him to remain seven years past his retirement and
- 42:59Speaker 15: then remove him. So that is definitely shocking news. And
- 43:02Speaker 15: he was in charge, as you say of the Taiwan command.
- 43:06Speaker 15: Now we're all reading into this. What does this mean?
- 43:09Speaker 15: I don't know. I don't think anybody knows, given the
- 43:11Speaker 15: opaque regime. What we do know is that China is
- 43:14Speaker 15: moving closer to some sort of reunification strategy or execution
- 43:19Speaker 15: of that strategy, whether it's today, whether it's years from now.
- 43:22Speaker 15: And I think removing a particular general, as controversial and
- 43:25Speaker 15: surprising as it is, doesn't take away from that they
- 43:28Speaker 15: played the long game. They are the strongest that they've
- 43:31Speaker 15: ever been. And the US has signaled that it doesn't
- 43:34Speaker 15: again want to go around policing the world or certainly
- 43:36Speaker 15: get involved in a kinetic head to head battle against
- 43:39Speaker 15: China without coming out and saying it. Trump has signaled
- 43:43Speaker 15: that to Shi in other forums. So I think all
- 43:45Speaker 15: those things bode in the direction of China moving towards that.
- 43:50Speaker 15: But again it's anybody's guests when it may or may
- 43:53Speaker 15: not happen.
- 43:54Speaker 4: Yeah, and it was only last week when the ambassador
- 43:57Speaker 4: said basically, if you're not with us, you're against us.
- 44:00Speaker 4: Let's see if Australia gets drawn into this. Koshagada, thanks
- 44:02Speaker 4: for your time. As always, still to come. Bill Maher
- 44:05Speaker 4: serves up truth bombs and calls out woke Hollywood elites.
- 44:09Speaker 4: Alex Stein will have his say on that. Next joining
- 44:22Speaker 4: me now is comedian Alex Stein.
- 44:24Speaker 3: Alex, good to catch up. Thanks for joining me. Let's
- 44:26Speaker 3: start with ICE.
- 44:27Speaker 4: Donald Trump is sending his borders are Tom Homan to
- 44:30Speaker 4: Minneapolis to take control of operations there. In the meantime,
- 44:33Speaker 4: the US Border Patrol Commander Gregory Bovino is set to
- 44:36Speaker 4: leave Minnesota along with some of his agents. But Alex,
- 44:40Speaker 4: I've got to say things are about to get realer
- 44:42Speaker 4: with Tom Homan on the ground because that man does
- 44:44Speaker 4: not muck around.
- 44:48Speaker 10: No, he doesn't. And let's be real, if we actually
- 44:50Speaker 10: look at the stats.
- 44:51Speaker 22: When Tom Holman was working for Barack Obama, he deported
- 44:54Speaker 22: over four hundred thousand people in his first year, and
- 44:57Speaker 22: I believe the numbers right now are similar in Donald
- 44:59Speaker 22: trump first term. So if you really look at what's happening,
- 45:03Speaker 22: there's a reason for it. Because Minneapolis is a sanctuary city,
- 45:06Speaker 22: so they're not cooperating with ICE.
- 45:08Speaker 10: Here in Texas, they fully cooperate with ICE.
- 45:10Speaker 22: They let the ICE go to the criminal system and
- 45:12Speaker 22: go to the court system and deport the criminals. But
- 45:15Speaker 22: you have all of these lunatics that are out there
- 45:17Speaker 22: protesting to basically protect child predators and gang members. So
- 45:21Speaker 22: there's a reason why Minneapolis is having this crisis, and
- 45:24Speaker 22: that's why states like Texas are not so Really, it
- 45:27Speaker 22: comes down to the leadership, the local leadership and the
- 45:29Speaker 22: state leadership.
- 45:30Speaker 3: Look absolutely and yeah, as I said, things about to
- 45:33Speaker 3: get much more real with Homan on the ground, that's
- 45:36Speaker 3: for sure. Now, look, let's talk about Bill Maher.
- 45:38Speaker 4: I've got to say, Alex, I think he's serving up
- 45:40Speaker 4: more truth bombs this time. He's had a crack at
- 45:43Speaker 4: woke Hollywood elites. He said, quote Hollywood is sort of
- 45:47Speaker 4: the epicenter of the woke left. I don't think they're
- 45:50Speaker 4: doing the Democrat Party any favors. I think if Democrats
- 45:53Speaker 4: want to win elections in the future, job one tell
- 45:56Speaker 4: the celebrities to just shut the f up. You're not
- 46:00Speaker 4: You don't strike people in most of the country as
- 46:03Speaker 4: sensible or in touch with reality.
- 46:06Speaker 3: Alex, He's not wrong, is he?
- 46:09Speaker 19: No?
- 46:09Speaker 10: Bill Maher is exactly correct.
- 46:11Speaker 22: I mean, everybody realizes that these Hollywood elites, they're out
- 46:14Speaker 22: of touch with reality and basically whoever they endorse, people
- 46:18Speaker 22: want to do the opposite, so it's actually hurting candidates
- 46:20Speaker 22: by being endorsed by you know, Mark Ruffalo and some
- 46:23Speaker 22: of these major celebrities. Like you would think that Taylor
- 46:25Speaker 22: Swift would actually be able to swing an election, But
- 46:28Speaker 22: now people realize that these people are not like us.
- 46:30Speaker 22: They are elites. They do not care about us. So
- 46:33Speaker 22: when they try to interject into politics, it really gives
- 46:35Speaker 22: the wrong impression to all the people that are struggling
- 46:37Speaker 22: to pay their bills, the people that are struggling to
- 46:39Speaker 22: afford to pay their mortgages. So, you know, Bill Maher
- 46:42Speaker 22: is exactly correct. We got to get these celebrities really
- 46:45Speaker 22: out of politics, and if they do have an opinion
- 46:47Speaker 22: on politics, have a correct one, have one that's based
- 46:49Speaker 22: in reality and.
- 46:51Speaker 10: Not la la land la, you know, wokeness.
- 46:54Speaker 22: It's absolutely ridiculous some of the policies at these celebrities.
- 46:59Speaker 10: Want to try to energet in American politics.
- 47:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 47:01Speaker 4: Well, I mean it's like even with the when it
- 47:03Speaker 4: was a campaign where Krmala Harris trotted out all these
- 47:07Speaker 4: elites like Beyonce, I mean, they just didn't, you know,
- 47:11Speaker 4: resonate with.
- 47:12Speaker 3: The average US citizens.
- 47:14Speaker 4: So I completely think that Bill Mar's onto something there. Now, look,
- 47:18Speaker 4: I've got to ask you about this because I know
- 47:19Speaker 4: you love a bit of humor, Alex.
- 47:20Speaker 3: You're a comedian yourself.
- 47:21Speaker 4: I have a look at this movie, A length cartoon
- 47:24Speaker 4: of Ossie politician One Nation leader Pauline Hanson. This is
- 47:27Speaker 4: part of her please explain series.
- 47:28Speaker 3: Have a look.
- 47:30Speaker 19: We're all in grave danger that our virtue signal.
- 47:33Speaker 18: This is no longer a safe space.
- 47:35Speaker 3: You speak of.
- 47:36Speaker 19: The prophecies shows one will venture out to the real
- 47:39Speaker 19: world and reclaimed the victim wood from its ancient resting
- 47:42Speaker 19: points and wield it's awesome power and saved the world
- 47:45Speaker 19: from the impressive colonizers.
- 47:47Speaker 3: Ll do it well, accept the Court of Adventure.
- 47:52Speaker 6: Oh my god, that's so cringe, Alex.
- 47:55Speaker 4: The Australia's classification boarders slapped it with a mature Themes
- 47:59Speaker 4: warning over rude humor. Would you believe the film's already
- 48:02Speaker 4: been banned at Parliament House by bureaucrats on the grounds
- 48:05Speaker 4: it might cause offense to the public.
- 48:06Speaker 3: The Left have absolutely killed comedy, yes they had, But.
- 48:11Speaker 22: The more they try to ban it, it's just going
- 48:12Speaker 22: to make it more popular and in reality to give
- 48:15Speaker 22: a cartoon of mature rating unless it has nudity or
- 48:17Speaker 22: you know, death or violence in it.
- 48:19Speaker 10: There's no way jokes should be considered violence.
- 48:22Speaker 22: But when you have a country where you know, free
- 48:24Speaker 22: speech is not the same as it is here in America,
- 48:26Speaker 22: and trust me, it's under fire here in America as well.
- 48:29Speaker 10: It's just a sad reality.
- 48:30Speaker 22: But I do think that the more the government and
- 48:32Speaker 22: the media tried to cancel something, the more that resonates
- 48:35Speaker 22: with the people. So I think it'll be successful regardless
- 48:37Speaker 22: of the censorship from the government and the ratings bureau.
- 48:41Speaker 3: Yeah, good luck trying to shut it down.
- 48:42Speaker 4: You're right, it just makes more publicity, more people want
- 48:45Speaker 4: to watch it. Alex Stein, always good to see. Thank
- 48:48Speaker 4: you so much for joining me.
- 48:50Speaker 3: And that's all for me. Up next is Newsnight. Good Night,
