- 0:10Speaker 1: Wait true insurance?
- 0:11Speaker 2: Did I true? I'm a checkup with chance get a
- 0:15Speaker 2: true than is? Hey? Everybody, welcome to Conspiracy the Show.
- 0:35Speaker 2: I'm your host, Stadam Todd Brown joining me is co
- 0:38Speaker 2: host this week Connors here. How's it going, man, Am?
- 0:42Speaker 2: I am excited about today's topic because spoiler alert, I
- 0:47Speaker 2: think this is why JFK got killed.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, especially when you Dove Taylor with one
- 0:53Speaker 1: of the last speeches he gave being about exposing secret societies.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Yeah, this definitely feels like motive board killing JFK.
- 1:02Speaker 1: And this is a kind of conspiracy theory that I
- 1:04Speaker 1: feel like brings conspiracy theorists of all swaths together because
- 1:08Speaker 1: it's something we can all get on board with, which
- 1:10Speaker 1: is a confirmed false flag Yeah, from the US government.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Everybody loves an Operation north Woods a Gulf of Tonkin you.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Now nine to eleven, Stele eleven. Yeah, we're talking about
- 1:24Speaker 2: Operation north Woods, which was a planned series of false
- 1:29Speaker 2: flag attacks against Americans, Cubans, you know, pretty much anyone
- 1:36Speaker 2: who was in line to take it.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Anybody that we can make it look like the Cubans
- 1:39Speaker 1: did it.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, Yeah. It was all in the name of
- 1:43Speaker 2: justifying an invasion of Cuba, which should tell listeners everything
- 1:48Speaker 2: you need to know about how much of a threat
- 1:51Speaker 2: Cuba actually was. We had to try and trick them
- 1:54Speaker 2: into starting some shit, and even that did not work.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Well, you know, it's communism ninety miles away at him.
- 2:01Speaker 1: If we let that keep up, we might have universal
- 2:04Speaker 1: health care right now. Do you have any idea how
- 2:06Speaker 1: bad things would be? Then? Yeah, we're on nage and healthy.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Fucking terrible. We do not let that kind of shit
- 2:12Speaker 2: slide on our half of the globe. So the story
- 2:15Speaker 2: starts with the Cuban Revolution and Castro toppling the Batista government.
- 2:21Speaker 2: US recognized Castro's regime at first, mostly because there was
- 2:26Speaker 2: this New York Times profile that made it clear that
- 2:29Speaker 2: Castro was not affiliated with communism in any way, So
- 2:34Speaker 2: we reluctantly recognized his government at first.
- 2:37Speaker 1: They really wanted another Batista because Batista was just in
- 2:41Speaker 1: the pocket of the US.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Yeah, he was very favorable to US corporations and things
- 2:46Speaker 2: of the like. We started falling out a favor with
- 2:49Speaker 2: Castro after he executed seven hundred Batista followers by way
- 2:54Speaker 2: of a firing squad and we asked him about it
- 2:56Speaker 2: and he was like, Hey, you dropped a nuclear bomb
- 2:59Speaker 2: on Japan. Can't question me about killing civilians. You killed
- 3:03Speaker 2: thousands of civilians.
- 3:05Speaker 1: It's a pretty good point.
- 3:06Speaker 2: It's a very very valid point.
- 3:08Speaker 1: I don't think it really makes killing civilians cool, but
- 3:11Speaker 1: it's definitely. Yeah, if you're in an argument with America,
- 3:14Speaker 1: it's a good one to whip out.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely not putting up American numbers by just killing
- 3:19Speaker 2: seven hundred people. Also, like we mentioned, Batista way more
- 3:23Speaker 2: accepting of US corporations making money in Cuba, Castro way
- 3:28Speaker 2: less keen on that the Castro regime was kind of
- 3:31Speaker 2: like a hopped up version of communism. They wanted to
- 3:35Speaker 2: replace wage labor altogether eliminate the pursuit of personal wealth.
- 3:40Speaker 2: And that's when all the rich people got the fuck
- 3:42Speaker 2: out of Cuba and went to my head.
- 3:44Speaker 1: I'm going to go somewhere. These points are still good.
- 3:47Speaker 2: So, in response to the US government questioning his policies,
- 3:51Speaker 2: along with an incident where a French ship carrying Belgian
- 3:55Speaker 2: munitions exploded in Havan Harbor, which Castro blamed on the CIA,
- 4:00Speaker 2: come on, the government of Cuba nationalized all American property,
- 4:04Speaker 2: so he's just doing all the.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Shit he prestentated nationalization button, let's go.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that usually does not sit well with us.
- 4:13Speaker 1: It's still insane to me that any country can own
- 4:15Speaker 1: land in another country. That just doesn't make sense to me.
- 4:19Speaker 2: Yeah, that is pretty fucking wild. The fact that we
- 4:21Speaker 2: have a military base in Cuba is pretty goddamn wild.
- 4:26Speaker 2: I didn't know that's in Cuba.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Stupid. I'm imagining a runway with fighter jets.
- 4:34Speaker 2: And so he turns to Russia for support after that,
- 4:38Speaker 2: and Russia provided that support. Another thing the US hated
- 4:43Speaker 2: back then, still kind of hate it now. But one
- 4:46Speaker 2: of the roadblocks to overthrowing Castro was that the American
- 4:50Speaker 2: people kind of fucking loved him. They just viewed Castro
- 4:52Speaker 2: in his regime as these romantic freedom fighters who were
- 4:56Speaker 2: doing the best for their country, probably because that's what
- 4:59Speaker 2: they were.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean it hearkens back to the origin story
- 5:03Speaker 1: of America, you know, ragtag group of free thinkers fighting
- 5:07Speaker 1: against an evil monarch.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Yeah, that's exactly that. And so if the US was
- 5:12Speaker 2: going to get him out of office, they had to
- 5:15Speaker 2: shatter that image. Otherwise the bleeding hearts in this country
- 5:19Speaker 2: would go nuts. So they had to do something to
- 5:22Speaker 2: change Castro's image a little bit. And those initiatives started
- 5:27Speaker 2: in the late fifties and early sixties, so still the
- 5:30Speaker 2: Eisenhower administration, on the advice of Richard Nixon, Eisenhower came
- 5:34Speaker 2: up with a plan called quote a Program of Covert
- 5:37Speaker 2: Action against the Castro Regime end quote APPCACKER, and it
- 5:44Speaker 2: was decided that the program needed three things to succeed.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Opposition to Castro among Cuban exiles in the US, a
- 5:51Speaker 2: concerted intelligence gathering effort within Cuba, and development of uh OH,
- 5:56Speaker 2: a paramilitary force capable of concealing it's American origins. Shouldn't
- 6:01Speaker 2: be a problem. No one ever suspects the US when
- 6:04Speaker 2: strange fighters show up.
- 6:05Speaker 1: No, we're not one to rustle up a couple freedom
- 6:08Speaker 1: fighters and give him some guns just so we can
- 6:11Speaker 1: go take them away a couple years later.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Yeah, that's one of the craziest things about the Jonestown story.
- 6:17Speaker 2: While Jim Jones was in Guyana building essentially a slave colony,
- 6:22Speaker 2: a mind control slave colony, the US was also in
- 6:25Speaker 2: Guyana recruiting freedom fighters to take on like leaders in Africa,
- 6:31Speaker 2: and shit, so wow, big, big, huge coincidence there that.
- 6:35Speaker 1: See how, Jim, you're blowing up our spot. Jim, this
- 6:38Speaker 1: is kind of our spot where we we smoke out here.
- 6:40Speaker 1: You guys can't smoke out here because we've been smoking
- 6:42Speaker 1: out here. S No cops, chill.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Everyone speaks English. So nine months after this plan was adopted,
- 6:51Speaker 2: the US broke off diplomatic relations with Cuba, at which
- 6:54Speaker 2: point Eisenhower just sat back and waited for the perfect
- 6:58Speaker 2: opportunity to launch his invasion. And that opportunity never fucking came.
- 7:03Speaker 2: So JFK took office in sixty one. He also signed
- 7:07Speaker 2: off on this plan, but mostly because Nixon omitted a
- 7:10Speaker 2: bunch of the more inflammatory details when he pitched it
- 7:14Speaker 2: to JFK.
- 7:15Speaker 1: That doesn't sound like they're Richard Nixon, I know, no,
- 7:17Speaker 1: no old, good old forthcoming dick.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Sounds like something a crook would do, and he famously
- 7:23Speaker 2: told us he is not a crook, so couldn't be. So.
- 7:26Speaker 2: One of the big ironies of all this is that
- 7:29Speaker 2: everyone involved was sure they'd be able to keep this
- 7:32Speaker 2: plan secret, even while officials in Cuba were just openly
- 7:36Speaker 2: saying in speeches that they knew the US was planning
- 7:39Speaker 2: some sort of invasion or trying to provoke them into
- 7:44Speaker 2: attacking the US, and somehow the military in the US
- 7:47Speaker 2: was like, yeah, but they don't really know, right, They
- 7:50Speaker 2: say they know what we're doing, but they don't.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Know, so Rick it has this like pretentious thing where
- 7:55Speaker 1: they don't speak English. We just assume they're fucking stupid.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Yes, one hundred percent. Even pinpointed where we were training
- 8:02Speaker 2: the paramilitary forces, who's in I think either Honduras or Guatemala,
- 8:07Speaker 2: And in a speech some Cuban official was like, yeah,
- 8:09Speaker 2: they're training people in Honduras for this.
- 8:12Speaker 1: We know we're even people without half the resources that
- 8:15Speaker 1: we have will fight us to a draw using sharp
- 8:17Speaker 1: sticks covered in poop, you know, like buried a pit.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Yeah, and that I mean kind of sums up the
- 8:24Speaker 2: Bay of Pigs invasion, where it ends up being like
- 8:27Speaker 2: fourteen hundred paramilitary soldiers. And we launched this invasion, the
- 8:33Speaker 2: Bay of Pigs invasion, and not only do people kind
- 8:36Speaker 2: of know it's coming to the point that the beach
- 8:39Speaker 2: we landed on there were like floodlights everywhere, so we
- 8:44Speaker 2: had to like change where we landed at the last minute.
- 8:47Speaker 2: They end up landing in a swamp in the south
- 8:50Speaker 2: of Cuba and run into a bunch of donkey.
- 8:53Speaker 1: There's a bunch of freedom fires in the swamp.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Donkey and they end up kind of getting stuck. They
- 9:01Speaker 2: hit a bunch of coral reefs that they thought were seaweed,
- 9:04Speaker 2: and this invasion just goes terribly like infamously, bad people
- 9:10Speaker 2: get fucking killed. Castro's regime took some losses, but he
- 9:15Speaker 2: stayed in power, so we failed to overthrow him. And
- 9:19Speaker 2: the failure of bea Pigs gave some world leaders, most
- 9:23Speaker 2: importantly Nikita Khrush Jeff, the opinion that JFK was weak
- 9:29Speaker 2: on foreign policy, and that impression ends up getting way
- 9:33Speaker 2: stronger when the two of them have their first and
- 9:35Speaker 2: only face to face meeting, where Kruse Jeff apparently just
- 9:39Speaker 2: fucking steamrolled JFK to the point that JFK he came
- 9:43Speaker 2: out of the meeting saying he felt like he'd been
- 9:45Speaker 2: treated like a little boy.
- 9:47Speaker 1: He brought up the rich kid in him. You know
- 9:49Speaker 1: he was helpless.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Well, I guess I didn't realize this about the JFK administration,
- 9:54Speaker 2: but he really was. I think maybe one of the
- 9:57Speaker 2: first people to be seen as like a woke liberal
- 10:00Speaker 2: who was too idealistic to do what the country needed
- 10:04Speaker 2: to be done. That seems like the military's standpoint on
- 10:07Speaker 2: JFK was.
- 10:08Speaker 1: That he was just too soft or he didn't understand
- 10:12Speaker 1: that they were in the business of coups. And yeah,
- 10:15Speaker 1: and paramilitary a group of groups of ragtag government haters,
- 10:21Speaker 1: you know, being used to install puppet number seven.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Yeah, that is extremely our shit. And Kruse Jeff was
- 10:28Speaker 2: even more staunch in his belief that Kennedy was soft
- 10:32Speaker 2: after he authorized the construction of the Berlin Wall and
- 10:35Speaker 2: Kennedy didn't say or do shit about it. And this
- 10:40Speaker 2: was kind of how the Cuban missile crisis happened, because
- 10:43Speaker 2: Kruse Jeff is like, man, Kennedy's not gonna do shit
- 10:46Speaker 2: no matter what we do. Let's start sending missiles to Cuba.
- 10:50Speaker 2: And he was kind of right. We were planning to
- 10:52Speaker 2: do something, and he ended up withdrawing those missiles, but
- 10:55Speaker 2: we didn't do shit about it.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Yeah, it's interesting that they seemed to be able to shook.
- 11:01Speaker 2: Yeah. And so immediately after the Bay of Pigs, Kennedy
- 11:04Speaker 2: signed three national security memos intended to quote gut the
- 11:09Speaker 2: CIA and prevent the agency from carrying out clandestine operations.
- 11:14Speaker 2: He wanted to take a bunch of power from the
- 11:16Speaker 2: CIA and hand it over to the Joint chiefs of Staff,
- 11:19Speaker 2: including control over paramilitary groups, which uh, oh, right there, Yeah.
- 11:24Speaker 1: That doesn't seem so smart.
- 11:26Speaker 2: And for the record, I just started going through all
- 11:29Speaker 2: of the JFK assassination files and they start at a
- 11:35Speaker 2: really interesting place because what I learned researching this is
- 11:40Speaker 2: there was a big rift between the CIA and the
- 11:43Speaker 2: military and Kennedy. Kennedy wanted a more moderate approach to Cuba.
- 11:48Speaker 2: The CIA and the military were like, let's fucking invade,
- 11:51Speaker 2: We need to do it now. And it gets so
- 11:54Speaker 2: intense that at one point even the Joint chiefs of
- 11:56Speaker 2: Staff stopped telling Kennedy what they're planning. And I'm sure
- 12:01Speaker 2: it's just coincidence, but the JFK files start with three
- 12:06Speaker 2: years of minutes and notes from the meetings between the CIA,
- 12:11Speaker 2: the military and JFK's he called it his like Special
- 12:14Speaker 2: Foreign Advisory Board or something like that, And it's just
- 12:18Speaker 2: years the special fab everyone, you know, Yeah, and it's
- 12:24Speaker 2: the entire first batch of files are just years of
- 12:27Speaker 2: minutes and notes from these meetings about their disagreements on
- 12:32Speaker 2: the Cuba situation.
- 12:34Speaker 1: I bet they put them in there just to fucking
- 12:36Speaker 1: make bore the shit out of you so you wouldn't
- 12:38Speaker 1: get to the real stuff.
- 12:40Speaker 2: Yeah, but also you got to wonder why they're there
- 12:44Speaker 2: and why it starts with that. If these are files
- 12:47Speaker 2: about JFK's assassination, did something happen in those meetings that? Yeah, right,
- 12:54Speaker 2: him being assassinated, because that's at least one of the theories.
- 12:58Speaker 2: My theory after researching this, our favorite theory about it
- 13:01Speaker 2: is that he was shot accidentally by a secret service agent.
- 13:04Speaker 2: I think Lee Harvey Oswald was supposed to just shoot
- 13:09Speaker 2: at Kennedy to scare him into wanting to invade Cuba,
- 13:12Speaker 2: and I think they fucked up and accidentally killed Kennedy.
- 13:15Speaker 2: That's what I think happened.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Interesting, it was like an intimidation job gone wrong because
- 13:22Speaker 1: and we'll.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Get into more of the details as we go through this,
- 13:24Speaker 2: but the Joint Chiefs, he ends up giving them the
- 13:28Speaker 2: power over all this paramilitary stuff because he trusts them
- 13:31Speaker 2: more than the CIA. But then the Joint Chiefs also
- 13:34Speaker 2: start kind of losing faith in Kennedy and the idea
- 13:38Speaker 2: that he's soft on Cuba, so they start doing all
- 13:42Speaker 2: this shit in secret, also that they're not telling Kennedy about,
- 13:46Speaker 2: and a lot of as we get into the Operation
- 13:49Speaker 2: Northwood stuff, some of those plans just straight up involve
- 13:52Speaker 2: killing people, like letting people die to justify an invasion
- 13:57Speaker 2: of Cuba. What would have stopped him from trying to
- 14:00Speaker 2: pull one of these false flags on Kennedy himself? Because
- 14:04Speaker 2: that was their whole mo was, we have to stage
- 14:08Speaker 2: these events. One of them is going to provoke Cuba
- 14:11Speaker 2: to attack us or sell the American people on the
- 14:14Speaker 2: idea that we need to attack Cuba. And what better
- 14:17Speaker 2: way to convince Kennedy you need to invade Cuba than
- 14:21Speaker 2: someone tries to fucking kill him on Castro's behalf.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Yep, that's a good way to start a grudge.
- 14:28Speaker 2: Yeah, sure is.
- 14:29Speaker 1: If the Midas Touch guys tried to take out at
- 14:31Speaker 1: him because he was scooping them on all the high conspiracies,
- 14:36Speaker 1: you know, I mean, we'd probably throw hands.
- 14:39Speaker 2: Is that a podcast?
- 14:40Speaker 1: I think that's the number one podcast in the America
- 14:43Speaker 1: right now?
- 14:44Speaker 2: My god, Yeah, let's fucking kill him now, said if
- 14:47Speaker 2: they tried to kill you, we would you know, well,
- 14:50Speaker 2: this is where our rift forms. I think we should
- 14:52Speaker 2: take preemptive action and kill them first.
- 14:55Speaker 1: Well, you know, I have been hearing rumors about this
- 14:57Speaker 1: for you know, fifteen twenty seconds now.
- 15:00Speaker 2: So back to Operation Northwoods. Before we get there, we
- 15:03Speaker 2: got to talk about the awesomely named Operation Mongoose Kill.
- 15:06Speaker 1: Her name for an operation?
- 15:08Speaker 2: Yeah, just I still to this day don't really know
- 15:10Speaker 2: what a mongoose looks like. I just know they kill snakes,
- 15:13Speaker 2: and that's yead ass as.
- 15:15Speaker 1: I understand it. They kind of look like a ferret
- 15:17Speaker 1: or a weasel that's like been to jail.
- 15:19Speaker 2: Can't they like teach the other ferrets and weasels how
- 15:22Speaker 2: to kill snakes? Like, I don't what do they do
- 15:24Speaker 2: that's so special? I don't get it.
- 15:26Speaker 1: I know they're pretty fucking cute though. Yeah, according to
- 15:29Speaker 1: if Google image is to be believed.
- 15:31Speaker 2: When can you not trust Google these days? I just
- 15:34Speaker 2: had a Google AI overview tell me the Auschwitz gift
- 15:38Speaker 2: shop sells Woody Allen biographies. Like, I bet that's not true.
- 15:42Speaker 2: I bet you got that from the wrong website. That
- 15:46Speaker 2: Auschwitz does have a gift shop.
- 15:48Speaker 1: Oh really, yes, exit through the gift shop, baby, I'd
- 15:51Speaker 1: be surprised. But that's surprised if they had a copy
- 15:53Speaker 1: of Without Feathers for sale.
- 15:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, if he mentions the Holocaust, I could
- 15:59Speaker 2: see it. It would be less weird than the RFK
- 16:02Speaker 2: assassination souvenir program I found at the Reagan Library. That's
- 16:05Speaker 2: for goddamn sure would make more sense for that to
- 16:08Speaker 2: be at Auschwitz than that RFK thing being at the
- 16:10Speaker 2: Reagan Library.
- 16:11Speaker 1: That's definitely the king of weird souvenirs.
- 16:14Speaker 2: Sure is so. Operation Mongoose. This was sort of an
- 16:18Speaker 2: umbrella operation that involved a bunch of other splinter operations.
- 16:23Speaker 2: And this is where all the silly like exploding cigar
- 16:26Speaker 2: shit comes from. It really turns into some Keystone cop
- 16:30Speaker 2: shit trying to assassinate Castro.
- 16:32Speaker 1: This is where the like the corporate DARPA deep state
- 16:36Speaker 1: starts to include the ACME Corporation as well as Luckheed
- 16:39Speaker 1: Martin and Boeing.
- 16:41Speaker 2: Yeah. They also at one point had a plan to
- 16:45Speaker 2: poison his wet suit.
- 16:47Speaker 1: That's my favorite one. I love that one.
- 16:49Speaker 2: I love why it didn't work. Someone gifted him a
- 16:52Speaker 2: new wetsuit at the last minute.
- 16:54Speaker 1: Yeah, it got regifted to some he just killed his
- 16:57Speaker 1: nephew or something.
- 16:58Speaker 2: Ah, This government There was also a plan to apply
- 17:01Speaker 2: thallium salts to Castro's shoes, which would cause his beard
- 17:05Speaker 2: to fall out. What the fuck's that going to do?
- 17:07Speaker 1: I gotta figure we could spend some of this energy
- 17:09Speaker 1: and we could figure out the math on like Medicare
- 17:11Speaker 1: for all or anything you would think. So, yeah, we're
- 17:15Speaker 1: so good at making these looney tunes doomsday device? Is
- 17:17Speaker 1: this like could we turn any of that attention domestically?
- 17:20Speaker 2: Yeah, that would be nice. So some of the other
- 17:23Speaker 2: programs that ran under Operation Mongoose, there was Operation Smasher,
- 17:28Speaker 2: which I include just because of the name. It was
- 17:30Speaker 2: intended to disrupt or disable military communication facilities in Cuba.
- 17:35Speaker 2: Operation Free Ride I love this one was meant to
- 17:38Speaker 2: cause descent by dropping a stockpile of one way plane
- 17:42Speaker 2: tickets to places like Mexico and Venezuela not America though,
- 17:46Speaker 2: along with propaganda leaflets designed to make people want to flee.
- 17:51Speaker 2: So they get this plane ticket, they read this leaflet
- 17:54Speaker 2: and they're like, yeah, I will head to the airport
- 17:56Speaker 2: right now. Was Cuba gonna let those people leave? Probably not?
- 18:00Speaker 1: Yeah. That Also, this seems like an insane expense for
- 18:03Speaker 1: something that like is gonna like half of those are
- 18:06Speaker 1: gonna get caught in a tree or something. Right, Yeah, yeah,
- 18:10Speaker 1: the water get all fucked up just by the wind
- 18:12Speaker 1: blowing us. When steps on, it rips their in halfs.
- 18:14Speaker 1: This is God. We spend money on the stupidest shit.
- 18:17Speaker 2: Yeah, we sure do. Yeah, this program, it was supposed
- 18:21Speaker 2: to cost thirteen million dollars and it ended up costing
- 18:23Speaker 2: like forty six million something like that in nineteen sixty
- 18:27Speaker 2: three dollars. Yes, yes, that is a shit ton of money.
- 18:30Speaker 2: There was also Operation Breakup, a proposed series of military
- 18:34Speaker 2: attacks where corrosive materials would be used to cause plane, ships,
- 18:38Speaker 2: and vehicles to malfunction and crash. Because they were getting
- 18:42Speaker 2: all of this equipment from the Soviet Union. We were
- 18:46Speaker 2: going to basically sabotage that equipment to destroy Cuba's faith
- 18:50Speaker 2: in the Soviet Union so they would quit leaning on
- 18:53Speaker 2: Russia for help.
- 18:54Speaker 1: There's a great video I love Doug DeMuro reviewing a Trabant.
- 19:00Speaker 1: It's a Soviet Sedan the Russia built, and it's just
- 19:03Speaker 1: this piece of shit car. Everything about it is like
- 19:07Speaker 1: chintzy and ready to fail. You don't need to do
- 19:11Speaker 1: any of this with Russian machinery. It's already gonna happen.
- 19:15Speaker 2: Yeah. They also ran a similar scheme called Operation Full
- 19:19Speaker 2: Up that was targeted towards Soviet fuel being sent to Cuba,
- 19:23Speaker 2: where they were going to inject some biological agent into
- 19:26Speaker 2: the fuel tanks and that agent proliferates itself and basically
- 19:30Speaker 2: eats the gas and just replaces the gas with whatever
- 19:34Speaker 2: that agent is.
- 19:36Speaker 1: That's kind of a cool sabotage is like I chemically
- 19:39Speaker 1: converted all of your gas to some inert lay mass
- 19:42Speaker 1: molecule that's totally valueless.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Yeah, and this is the kind of shit you hear
- 19:46Speaker 2: about happening and people are like, Okay, that's a conspiracy theory.
- 19:50Speaker 2: The American government wouldn't do that, Yelly would We love
- 19:53Speaker 2: doing shit like this. There's also Operation Cover Up slash
- 19:57Speaker 2: Operation Dirty Trick. This one is great. It was a
- 20:00Speaker 2: two part scheme where if John Glenn's Mercury space mission failed,
- 20:06Speaker 2: we were going to frame Cuba for sabotaging it, and
- 20:09Speaker 2: we were going to use that to invade Cuba.
- 20:12Speaker 1: Wow, we should have done that with all those rockets
- 20:14Speaker 1: that elon Blue Web. We should have been like it
- 20:17Speaker 1: was Russia.
- 20:17Speaker 2: Yeah, or the Space Shuttle. I'm surprised we didn't blame
- 20:20Speaker 2: the Space Shuttle Challenger on Russia.
- 20:23Speaker 1: That was right smack dab in the middle of the
- 20:24Speaker 1: Cold War. It was right there, Reagan.
- 20:26Speaker 2: Yeah, come on, that is one of my favorite conspiracies.
- 20:30Speaker 2: I don't I feel like Keith was actually on that
- 20:33Speaker 2: the episode where we covered it, But the Space Shuttle Challenger.
- 20:37Speaker 2: There are fucking doppelgangers of every single person who was
- 20:42Speaker 2: on the Space Shuttle Challenger. Oh I remember this still
- 20:45Speaker 2: out there in the world, working in the exact same
- 20:48Speaker 2: fields that those people worked in. Yeah.
- 20:51Speaker 1: They didn't even change their names from like Mary to
- 20:54Speaker 1: Sally nothing.
- 20:55Speaker 2: Yeah, just absolute twins. It's very odd and even. And
- 21:00Speaker 2: with this, there is at one point we're going to
- 21:02Speaker 2: get to a plot that involved framing Cuba for shooting
- 21:07Speaker 2: down a commercial plane. And what we were going to
- 21:09Speaker 2: do was have college students board this commercial plane under
- 21:13Speaker 2: false identities and then have a second fake plane take
- 21:18Speaker 2: off at the same time, and at one point the
- 21:21Speaker 2: real plane was just going to land somewhere in the
- 21:23Speaker 2: fake plane would continue on pretending to be the real plane,
- 21:28Speaker 2: and then we were going to shoot that down and
- 21:30Speaker 2: blame Cuba. There's no reason we couldn't have done something
- 21:34Speaker 2: similar with the fucking Space shuttle Challenger. Send that up
- 21:37Speaker 2: in the sky. While everyone's looking at that exploding, we're
- 21:39Speaker 2: fucking launching something else. That's actually one of the conspiracies
- 21:43Speaker 2: about the Challengers that we were actually doing like Russia
- 21:46Speaker 2: reconnaissance shit and just blew up a space shuttle.
- 21:49Speaker 1: To oh to get just as a sleight of hand distraction.
- 21:53Speaker 2: Like a diversion. So Operation Bingo that was going to
- 21:56Speaker 2: be a staged attack on the naval base at Guantanamo
- 21:59Speaker 2: that it appeared to be carried out by Cuba. This
- 22:02Speaker 2: one deserves some extra attention, mostly because the first part
- 22:05Speaker 2: of the plan was to deposit a nest of hissing
- 22:08Speaker 2: snakes outside the gates of the base, because it was
- 22:12Speaker 2: apparently a type of snake whose sound is similar to
- 22:15Speaker 2: an active firefight.
- 22:16Speaker 1: And they asked the general's nine year old nephew.
- 22:21Speaker 2: And they were assuming if they drop these snakes, people
- 22:24Speaker 2: from the base would come out and start firing, and
- 22:27Speaker 2: we could be like, look, they were firing at Cuban
- 22:30Speaker 2: agents who were trying to invade this base. We got
- 22:33Speaker 2: to invade Cuba. Everything we were doing was just meant
- 22:36Speaker 2: to justify invading Cuba and none of it fucking were,
- 22:41Speaker 2: including Operation Good Time.
- 22:43Speaker 1: Couldn't we get a fucking speaker system and just play audio?
- 22:47Speaker 1: Whould get a vinyl record of a gun fight happening
- 22:50Speaker 1: like we had? Didn't we have this shit? So can
- 22:52Speaker 1: we hooked up a general? I mean, come on, like snakes,
- 22:55Speaker 1: we're going with snakes that sound like guns? And do
- 22:58Speaker 1: we just have those or were we going to have to? Like, yeah,
- 23:01Speaker 1: do we have a warehouse somewhere where we've been breeding
- 23:04Speaker 1: the ones that sound the most like guns with the
- 23:06Speaker 1: ones that sound the most like guns to make the
- 23:07Speaker 1: gunniest gun snakes.
- 23:09Speaker 2: Because we were stockpiling shellfish tocsin for a long time,
- 23:12Speaker 2: the intelligence community was they were obsessed with shellfish toxin.
- 23:16Speaker 1: Well that she gets you fucking high. Do have you
- 23:18Speaker 1: ever tried it? It's good stuff, man, No, but it is.
- 23:21Speaker 2: If I'm ever going to be assassinated, it's my preferred
- 23:24Speaker 2: way to go.
- 23:25Speaker 1: How does shellfish toxsin affect the blood a man's humors?
- 23:30Speaker 2: I'm not sure exactly how, but the CIA developed a
- 23:36Speaker 2: shellfish toxin weapon. At one point, they fucking showed it
- 23:40Speaker 2: at the Church Committee hearings and it fired little needle
- 23:45Speaker 2: that was almost undetectable if it went into the skin,
- 23:48Speaker 2: and it would kill a person in seconds. You would
- 23:51Speaker 2: just like kind of pass out and die painlessly.
- 23:54Speaker 1: Which that sounds pretty cash.
- 23:56Speaker 2: Yeah, that actually sounds like pretty humane way to go
- 23:59Speaker 2: about it.
- 24:00Speaker 1: I have read that on the pain index, a shotgun
- 24:03Speaker 1: in the mouth is the least painful way to die
- 24:05Speaker 1: because it just liquefies your ability to experience sensations with
- 24:09Speaker 1: the pres of a button almost immediately.
- 24:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I imagine that would be the quickest way, but it.
- 24:15Speaker 1: Just doesn't have the romantic gravitas that a CIA shellfish
- 24:19Speaker 1: toksin gun has.
- 24:20Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, that's one of the kind of og conspiracy
- 24:24Speaker 2: theories about JFK is that his limo driver actually turned
- 24:28Speaker 2: around and shot him after Lee Harvey Oswald started shooting.
- 24:31Speaker 2: And I do not believe that theory because it is
- 24:35Speaker 2: claimed that he used the shellfish toxin gun. But the
- 24:40Speaker 2: way they describe it working and the conspiracy theory is
- 24:43Speaker 2: not the way the shellfish toksin gun actually worked, because
- 24:46Speaker 2: they were saying if you shot him from such close range,
- 24:50Speaker 2: it would at least explode and look like a bullet.
- 24:52Speaker 2: But no, the shellfish talks and bullets didn't explode. They
- 24:55Speaker 2: just gave you shellfish toxin. So I don't believe that,
- 24:58Speaker 2: but it.
- 24:59Speaker 1: Was a theory gunned down in his prime by an evil.
- 25:02Speaker 2: Clam So I briefly mentioned Operation Good Time.
- 25:06Speaker 1: Which is one of the best softy movies, but one
- 25:09Speaker 1: of the worst operations.
- 25:11Speaker 2: It was intended to disillusion the Cuban public with Castro
- 25:14Speaker 2: by way of distributing doctored photos of him eating fancy
- 25:18Speaker 2: meals and gallivanting with attractive women, with one of the
- 25:21Speaker 2: photos including a caption that read my ration is different.
- 25:25Speaker 2: That might have worked.
- 25:26Speaker 1: Yeah, that's not the worst smear campaign I've ever heard.
- 25:29Speaker 2: Like, I always sort of hated Gavin Newsom, but once
- 25:33Speaker 2: those pictures of him eating at French laundry unmasked with
- 25:37Speaker 2: a whole bunch of people came out, Like the day
- 25:39Speaker 2: he put the mask order in place, it's like, you
- 25:42Speaker 2: fucking scumbag. Yeah that sucks.
- 25:45Speaker 1: If anything, it's just like I lose so much respect
- 25:48Speaker 1: for you because your lack of understanding of optics. Yeah,
- 25:52Speaker 1: it's like politics is optics, bitch.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Like he's given the right wingers exactly what they want
- 25:57Speaker 2: in that moment, he's giving right wingers something to point
- 26:00Speaker 2: at and go see, they're faking it this. They don't
- 26:03Speaker 2: think COVID's real good job. Gavenuwsom. But I mean I
- 26:06Speaker 2: say that as if he's not a fucking right winger himself.
- 26:08Speaker 1: Yeah. True.
- 26:09Speaker 2: So. Operation Northwoods came out of the Defense Department in
- 26:13Speaker 2: nineteen sixty two. By February of sixty two, the Kennedy
- 26:17Speaker 2: administration had abandoned most of its fuck with Cuba initiatives.
- 26:22Speaker 1: They were just doing the really serious ones, like poisoning
- 26:25Speaker 1: his wet suits and blowing up his cigar.
- 26:27Speaker 2: That's the thing. The Joint Chiefs by this point were
- 26:30Speaker 2: so mad at Kennedy they were like, yeah, sure, we'll stop.
- 26:34Speaker 2: They did not stop. They kept planning Operation north Woods.
- 26:38Speaker 2: It was the brainchild of a Joint Chiefs member named
- 26:41Speaker 2: General Lyman Lemnitzer. He was a really cool, calm, level
- 26:46Speaker 2: headed fella who had previously pitched the idea of just
- 26:50Speaker 2: striking Russia with nuclear weapons unprovoked. He was like, that's
- 26:55Speaker 2: the plan. I think that's what we need to do.
- 26:57Speaker 2: We just need to bomb Russia.
- 26:59Speaker 1: I mean, it's fear complete psychopath with no value for
- 27:03Speaker 1: human life. I'm sure there is a window of time
- 27:05Speaker 1: where that would have worked.
- 27:07Speaker 2: Yeah, Yeah, I'm sure, yeah, because Russia Like, yeah, this
- 27:11Speaker 2: was pretty early on, because when he pitched the idea,
- 27:14Speaker 2: he was like, by sixty three, we'll have enough weapons
- 27:16Speaker 2: to do it. So it was pretty early on where
- 27:19Speaker 2: we were like, let's end the fucking world. Why not?
- 27:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 27:22Speaker 2: He was a hardcore right winger and anti communist who
- 27:26Speaker 2: believed the government was riddled with Communist traders. Hated Kennedy,
- 27:30Speaker 2: fucking hated JFK and RFK both actually and Kennedy at
- 27:36Speaker 2: least hated Lemnitzer's plans, and that's why Lemnitzer hated Kennedy.
- 27:41Speaker 2: But also the military in general just kind of hated
- 27:44Speaker 2: Kennedy because he kept rejecting their plans for covert action
- 27:48Speaker 2: in Cuba.
- 27:49Speaker 1: Well, the first one he went along with went so well,
- 27:51Speaker 1: were you exactly?
- 27:53Speaker 2: Yeah? Who can blame him? There was a belief among
- 27:56Speaker 2: Pentagon generals that Kennedy's social programs were quote to social
- 28:00Speaker 2: and they resented Kennedy appointing civilians who quote would not
- 28:04Speaker 2: accept military judgments to powerful positions in his cabinet. So
- 28:09Speaker 2: we don't know who killed JFK. But the people in
- 28:12Speaker 2: charge of the military sure had a reason to want
- 28:15Speaker 2: him gone. Lemnitzer wanted a full on invasion of Cuba
- 28:19Speaker 2: and instructed the Joint chiefs to not keep Kennedy in
- 28:23Speaker 2: the loop about future plans. And that's how Operation north
- 28:27Speaker 2: Woods was born.
- 28:28Speaker 1: And so this is at this point, this is like
- 28:30Speaker 1: a light coup even just talking about this, right, like.
- 28:34Speaker 2: Yeah, it's I mean, they're not killing him yet, but
- 28:38Speaker 2: they are effectively just going around the president and running
- 28:42Speaker 2: the government themselves, at least as it pertains to military
- 28:46Speaker 2: shit in Cuba.
- 28:48Speaker 1: Yees, Subverting checks and balances is all of it.
- 28:50Speaker 2: Yeah, And this is how Operation Northwoods was born. It
- 28:54Speaker 2: was a top secret plan that included using drones, but
- 28:58Speaker 2: I think when they say drones, he they mean a
- 29:01Speaker 2: different thing. To stage attacks and assaults on US naval
- 29:05Speaker 2: vessels and facilities, and creating terror campaigns that appeared to
- 29:09Speaker 2: be sponsored by the Cuban government. At one point, it
- 29:13Speaker 2: literally called for CIA operatives and other intelligence agencies to
- 29:18Speaker 2: commit quote genuine acts of treason end quote in US cities.
- 29:23Speaker 2: Was also referred to as performance art.
- 29:26Speaker 1: Don't bring art into this.
- 29:28Speaker 2: What a grim way to put killing Americans to justify
- 29:32Speaker 2: an invasion of Cuba. It's like theater kids stuff, and
- 29:36Speaker 2: you're getting so up here and asked about it, You're like, well,
- 29:38Speaker 2: and what the most amazing.
- 29:39Speaker 1: Part was how I sold that it was really a
- 29:42Speaker 1: real bombing of an American elementary school or whatever the
- 29:45Speaker 1: FUCKLA like, yeah, it is all about my performance.
- 29:49Speaker 2: Yeah, this was some depraved shit that they were planning.
- 29:52Speaker 2: Lemnitzer himself signed off personally on attacks on Washington, d C,
- 29:57Speaker 2: and Miami. Kennedy rejected the plan and was reportedly disgusted
- 30:02Speaker 2: with its contents. This led Lemnitzer to believe Kennedy had
- 30:06Speaker 2: gone soft on Cuba and the Soviets, so he just
- 30:08Speaker 2: kept planning Operation Northwoods on his own, and Kennedy refusing
- 30:13Speaker 2: to sign off on an invasion of Cuba just makes
- 30:16Speaker 2: him more and more unpopular with the military as his
- 30:19Speaker 2: presidency carried on. It's mentioned in a book about north
- 30:23Speaker 2: Woods that I used to research this that'll link to
- 30:26Speaker 2: in the show, notes that at one point Kennedy held
- 30:28Speaker 2: a meeting with the Joint chiefs to try to clear
- 30:31Speaker 2: the air, and his words were greeted with nothing but
- 30:34Speaker 2: quote icy silence.
- 30:36Speaker 1: Damn sounds like kind of a sick name for a
- 30:38Speaker 1: rapper or something.
- 30:39Speaker 2: Now I s Yeah, so Lemnitzer had taken to bad
- 30:45Speaker 2: mouthing Kennedy in front of soldiers. By the end of
- 30:48Speaker 2: sixty two, relations with Kennedy and the military are at
- 30:52Speaker 2: an all time low. At one point, a Senate committee
- 30:55Speaker 2: called for an investigation into the relationship between the Joint
- 30:59Speaker 2: Chiefs and right wing extremists on account of how indiscriminately
- 31:03Speaker 2: Lemnitzer was passing around Operation north Woods. So, yeah, I
- 31:06Speaker 2: wonder who killed Kennedy.
- 31:09Speaker 1: Not a lot of people had motives, but these people
- 31:11Speaker 1: had access and power and money and everything else too, and.
- 31:14Speaker 2: They had the CIA on their side.
- 31:16Speaker 1: Yeah. And this Kennedy guy's bad for deep state business.
- 31:19Speaker 1: He's just in gener Everything he does is like kind
- 31:21Speaker 1: of spits in the face of this shit.
- 31:23Speaker 2: Yeah, and I'm sure this is unrelated. But at one
- 31:25Speaker 2: point someone described Lemnitzer as quote one of the most
- 31:28Speaker 2: politically minded of America's highest ranking military officers who plotted
- 31:33Speaker 2: to take the life of at least one foreign head
- 31:35Speaker 2: of state end quote. But yeah, again, I wonder who
- 31:38Speaker 2: killed Kennedy?
- 31:39Speaker 1: Why I did the mistic state.
- 31:41Speaker 2: Yeah, and it was the entire Joint Chiefs were on
- 31:45Speaker 2: board with Operation Northwoods, not just Lemnitzer. Even after he
- 31:49Speaker 2: was relieved of his duty, they carried on planning Operation Northwoods,
- 31:54Speaker 2: including an idea around that time to just bomb the
- 31:57Speaker 2: Dominican Republic and make it look like Cuba did it, easy, peasy, it.
- 32:00Speaker 1: Doesn't sound that hard. Just used some really shitty leftover missiles,
- 32:04Speaker 1: the kind that we sold to some third world dicatorship
- 32:08Speaker 1: fifty years ago, and say, hey, look at that.
- 32:10Speaker 2: Just paint a Cuban flag on the side of them.
- 32:13Speaker 1: Yeah, Cuba did it nice, pulled pork sandwich.
- 32:15Speaker 2: You know. There were also plans to terrorize Cuban exiles
- 32:19Speaker 2: at their homes in Washington and Miami. Another plan called
- 32:22Speaker 2: for an attack of Trinidad and Tobago as a means
- 32:25Speaker 2: of drawing the British into a war with Cuba. The
- 32:28Speaker 2: Joint Chiefs also considered the possibility of bribing a member
- 32:31Speaker 2: of Castro's government to attack the US, which that's just treason.
- 32:36Speaker 1: So this really confirms it. Like the way that the
- 32:38Speaker 1: Starbucks Corporation sits around all day and tries to come
- 32:40Speaker 1: up with new coffee flavors, America just sits around and
- 32:43Speaker 1: tries to come up with new wars. Yeah, where can
- 32:45Speaker 1: we drum up a war? We've got this war machine,
- 32:47Speaker 1: We've got nothing to point it at. America is never
- 32:50Speaker 1: more unhappy with itself when it's at peace. It's a
- 32:54Speaker 1: disgusting state of being to an American.
- 32:56Speaker 2: And it's crazy how long that has been a thing
- 33:00Speaker 2: in this country. I did a solo episode about the
- 33:03Speaker 2: Office of Naval Intelligence, which is the oldest intelligence agency
- 33:08Speaker 2: in the United States. That was their whole fucking thing
- 33:10Speaker 2: when they started, was the president.
- 33:13Speaker 1: Was past the twentieth century, even I bet yeah.
- 33:16Speaker 2: The President was like, listen, I think we don't really
- 33:20Speaker 2: need to be doing all this warshit in other countries.
- 33:23Speaker 2: And the Office of Naval Intelligence was like, nah, we
- 33:26Speaker 2: need more ships and we need to be going to
- 33:28Speaker 2: war all the fucking time. And that was their whole thing,
- 33:30Speaker 2: was like trying to provoke reasons why the President would
- 33:34Speaker 2: agree with them. So this has kind of been the
- 33:37Speaker 2: struggle between the presidency and the intelligence community in the
- 33:41Speaker 2: military community forever, because you're right, it's war machine shit.
- 33:45Speaker 2: That's how a lot of people make their money in
- 33:48Speaker 2: this country. There's no money in peace. There's money in
- 33:50Speaker 2: building fucking bombs and dropping on people.
- 33:53Speaker 1: Raytheon can't sell, you know, like fucking they don't make
- 33:57Speaker 1: peanut butter and potato salad. Yeah, they don't make peacetime goods.
- 34:03Speaker 1: There was not that you don't need a little potato
- 34:05Speaker 1: salad and peanut butter in a war. That was a
- 34:07Speaker 1: bad example. But not a fan of potato salad, yeah,
- 34:10Speaker 1: I mean neither. Yeah, bad times, too much mayonnaise.
- 34:13Speaker 2: Yeah. They also wanted to place plastic explosives on refugee
- 34:16Speaker 2: boats and blame Cuba for that. Oh cool, Yeah, they
- 34:21Speaker 2: were just talking about straight up killing people.
- 34:24Speaker 1: Well, it's hilarious to me always did how much of
- 34:26Speaker 1: this stuff When you really boil it down to what
- 34:28Speaker 1: happened and what people were thinking about doing, it is
- 34:31Speaker 1: just like Wiley coyote with completely no morality.
- 34:34Speaker 2: It is. It's one hunder that. And the quiet part
- 34:38Speaker 2: here that no one really ever says out loud is
- 34:41Speaker 2: all of this is just all the proof you need
- 34:44Speaker 2: to know Cuba was not a threat to us. That's
- 34:47Speaker 2: why they needed to provoke Cuba or frame them for
- 34:51Speaker 2: some sort of active aggression because it was never going
- 34:54Speaker 2: to happen on its own. And I never really thought
- 34:57Speaker 2: about this, but it's mentioned in this bo well. One
- 35:00Speaker 2: of the big reasons why it was never going to
- 35:02Speaker 2: happen is, again, we had a military base there. If
- 35:05Speaker 2: Cuba did some shit, we wouldn't even have to send
- 35:07Speaker 2: troops from the United States. We just had people right
- 35:10Speaker 2: there that we could mobilize and send into the country.
- 35:13Speaker 2: So Cuba knew not to fucking act up. That's why
- 35:16Speaker 2: we tried to provoke it and tried to frame them
- 35:20Speaker 2: for shit.
- 35:20Speaker 1: There was just they did not give us a legitimate reason.
- 35:23Speaker 2: Yeah, and they also, at one point I mentioned this,
- 35:26Speaker 2: already wanted to shoot down a commercial plane and frame
- 35:30Speaker 2: Cuba for that because then there would at least be
- 35:33Speaker 2: like witnesses who would have seen the plane taken off
- 35:36Speaker 2: and getting shot, you know, like the rfk assassination. All
- 35:39Speaker 2: these witnesses, no one's going to have any questions.
- 35:42Speaker 1: Yeah, they put all speculation to bed permanently forever. Yeah.
- 35:45Speaker 2: How they were going to explain that there were no
- 35:47Speaker 2: bodies or anything, I don't know, but I'm sure they
- 35:50Speaker 2: had a plan.
- 35:51Speaker 1: CIA's got a bucket of old burned bones that they
- 35:54Speaker 1: could just just chuck out throw some dissidence in there.
- 35:58Speaker 2: Yeah, They also in Madison Avenue advertising agencies to write
- 36:03Speaker 2: up the propaganda materials they planned to drop and broadcast
- 36:06Speaker 2: within Cuba. Again, all of this without JFK's knowledge for
- 36:10Speaker 2: the most part, and tensions between him and the Joint
- 36:14Speaker 2: Chiefs hit a boiling point in nineteen sixty three when
- 36:18Speaker 2: Kennedy announced the US Test Ban Treaty. The Joint Chiefs
- 36:21Speaker 2: were like, no, we should have more nuclear weapons. Actually,
- 36:25Speaker 2: this is a terrible idea. So they kept planning for
- 36:29Speaker 2: some sort of engineered provocation of Cuba. And I feel
- 36:33Speaker 2: like that's an important detail because whenever I've heard Operation
- 36:36Speaker 2: north Woods brought up, it's dismissed right away because Kennedy
- 36:39Speaker 2: rejected it. But that's like just the beginning of the story.
- 36:43Speaker 2: He rejected it, and then the Joint Chiefs really swung
- 36:47Speaker 2: into high gear planning it behind his back.
- 36:50Speaker 1: They never stopped cooking.
- 36:51Speaker 2: Yeah, so it's not as simple as oh, they pitched it,
- 36:54Speaker 2: Kennedy shot it down. End of story. There was a
- 36:58Speaker 2: lot more to it after that, and at least one
- 37:01Speaker 2: part of the plan was actually implemented, but it was
- 37:04Speaker 2: a pretty minor one where they just dropped a bunch
- 37:08Speaker 2: of weapons that looked like they came from Cuba on
- 37:11Speaker 2: beaches in a bunch of different Organization of American States?
- 37:14Speaker 1: Is that what OAS is?
- 37:15Speaker 2: I think? So? Uh. And if someone found them, they
- 37:18Speaker 2: were just going to be like, oh, hey, we found
- 37:19Speaker 2: a stockpile of weapons that Cuba is putting in other countries.
- 37:23Speaker 2: So we dropped a stockpile of weapons on a beach
- 37:26Speaker 2: in Venezuela. Someone found them, and they took one of
- 37:30Speaker 2: these weapons to Kennedy and were like, see Cuba's plan
- 37:33Speaker 2: and some shit. And apparently Kennedy just said, good job
- 37:36Speaker 2: and went right back to not giving a shit about Cuba.
- 37:39Speaker 1: I gotta go get my dick sucked.
- 37:42Speaker 2: He probably did, yeah, to go do that, fucking Kennedy.
- 37:46Speaker 2: So again, we cannot overstate how much the Pentagon hated Kennedy.
- 37:51Speaker 2: One joint chief compared Kennedy rejecting DoD Cuba plans to
- 37:55Speaker 2: the appeasement of Hitler at Munich. God damn. That seems
- 37:59Speaker 2: like hyperbole to me, but who knows. Meanwhile, when the
- 38:03Speaker 2: Church Committee rolled around in nineteen seventy five, they said
- 38:06Speaker 2: this about the threat Castro posed. Well, the only time
- 38:10Speaker 2: Castro has been a threat to the security of the
- 38:13Speaker 2: United States was the one time when all the assassination activity,
- 38:17Speaker 2: plans and plots against his life were stood down end quote.
- 38:21Speaker 2: And all of this is why some people think the
- 38:25Speaker 2: people behind Operation north Woods were also behind the Kennedy assassination.
- 38:30Speaker 1: They were literally at the point where they were giving
- 38:32Speaker 1: him the silent treatment.
- 38:33Speaker 2: Yeah, they were giving him the silent treatment. They had
- 38:36Speaker 2: a very obvious agenda in mind that he was not
- 38:39Speaker 2: on board with something was going to have to give
- 38:42Speaker 2: at some point. And I buy the theory that they
- 38:45Speaker 2: were the ones behind it. And again, it's those meetings
- 38:48Speaker 2: that kick off the Kennedy assassination files. They start at
- 38:52Speaker 2: the end of sixty one and carry on into nineteen
- 38:56Speaker 2: sixty four. That's like the first Like hundreds of pages
- 38:59Speaker 2: of these files are just notes about the meetings between
- 39:03Speaker 2: Kennedy and the military on what to do about Cuba.
- 39:07Speaker 2: So they're there for a reason.
- 39:09Speaker 1: Yeah, it's pretty interesting all things in their appropriate context.
- 39:14Speaker 2: And one of the Project Northwood's books points out a
- 39:18Speaker 2: weird thing that happened after JFK was killed. The CIA
- 39:22Speaker 2: paid their assets within the Cuban Student Directorate to publish
- 39:26Speaker 2: a statement saying Lee Harvey Oswald's quote pro Castro action
- 39:31Speaker 2: end quote was unsuccessful. Why did the CIA do that?
- 39:37Speaker 1: Why they planned on it being unsuccessful?
- 39:40Speaker 2: Yes, and that's why I think they were trying to
- 39:44Speaker 2: just scare Kennedy. I think they wanted to be able
- 39:47Speaker 2: to go to him and be like, look, fucking Cuba
- 39:50Speaker 2: just tried to assassinate you, now, can we invade dad?
- 39:54Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 39:54Speaker 2: And instead a Secret Service agent actually shoots him in
- 39:58Speaker 2: the head and they're like, oh shit, that worked too.
- 40:01Speaker 2: Maybe we'll try more of that as the sixties carry on,
- 40:04Speaker 2: And they sure did. And it's also worth noting while
- 40:07Speaker 2: Kennedy was in office, the CIA and the Joint Chiefs
- 40:10Speaker 2: oversaw the assassination or attempted assassination of not only Castro,
- 40:14Speaker 2: but also Dominican President Rafael Trujio, Patrese La Mumba of
- 40:18Speaker 2: the Congo and No dn DM in South Vietnam, but
- 40:23Speaker 2: definitely not Kennedy. They definitely did not plot the assassination
- 40:27Speaker 2: of Kennedy.
- 40:28Speaker 1: It wouldn't do that.
- 40:29Speaker 2: No, And yeah, that's our episode. I wanted to cover
- 40:33Speaker 2: this because I think we will dig into the JFK files.
- 40:36Speaker 2: They just released the MLK files too.
- 40:39Speaker 1: Damn we got all the k We got the KKK files. Yeah, Kennedy,
- 40:44Speaker 1: Kennedy King.
- 40:44Speaker 2: Get ready for fifteen hundred more episodes of Conspiracy Show, everybody.
- 40:48Speaker 1: I'm here for it, man, Hell yeah, this is interesting stuff.
- 40:51Speaker 1: But especially when well, I don't know, maybe maybe there's
- 40:54Speaker 1: more to be discovered in the files, but when you
- 40:56Speaker 1: lead with the year's worth of minutes from the Joint
- 40:59Speaker 1: Chief of Staffs meeting, you are kind of staying the
- 41:02Speaker 1: quirry port loud and as far as the classifying documents goes,
- 41:05Speaker 1: you know, like, yeah, there's got to be it might
- 41:07Speaker 1: be the most damning thing.
- 41:08Speaker 2: That we have. Yeah, that to me speaks to something
- 41:12Speaker 2: happening in those meetings that is related to Kennedy being killed,
- 41:16Speaker 2: And what the fuck else could it be other than
- 41:18Speaker 2: the military wanted to invade Cuba, Kennedy didn't want to,
- 41:22Speaker 2: and they got rid of him so they could still
- 41:24Speaker 2: not invade Cuba. Weird, I wonder who knows. So that's
- 41:28Speaker 2: our episode. We'll probably we'll do a JFK episode next.
- 41:32Speaker 2: We'll see. Until then, do we have anything to plug
- 41:35Speaker 2: before we get out of here? I would tell you
- 41:38Speaker 2: that we have a couple of new podcasts in your area,
- 41:42Speaker 2: which is a podcast about local news from around the
- 41:44Speaker 2: country that is not getting the attention it deserves. And
- 41:47Speaker 2: we're bringing back What in the World, a podcast about
- 41:50Speaker 2: international news and events. Those are both available on that
- 41:53Speaker 2: you don't even like this show feed, go listen to them. Connor,
- 41:56Speaker 2: what do you want to plug?

- 42:02Speaker 1: happens quit immediately.
- 42:04Speaker 2: Nice.
- 42:04Speaker 1: So now I think ten thousand likes would be appropriate
- 42:08Speaker 1: for I think Connor Expand and Live and Tucson. So
- 42:11Speaker 1: go over and give it a like over on YouTube
- 42:13Speaker 1: dot com.
- 42:14Speaker 2: Thanks a lot, Yeah, and then set up several more
