- 0:41Dayna Roselli: Well explained coming up.
- 0:43Sean McAllister: Let's get to it now on Biggest Reveal.
- 0:47Dayna Roselli: Welcome to Biggest Revealed, episode 327.
- 0:50Dayna Roselli: Dana Roselli and Sean McAllister here, gearing up for 4th of July weekend, 4th of July week.
- 0:57Dayna Roselli: I know a lot of people are excited about this.
- 0:59Dayna Roselli: You just got back from watching the Thunderbirds fly over the Hoover Dam.
- 1:03Sean McAllister: Oh my gosh, you know how it is just so exhilarating.
- 1:06Sean McAllister: If you have not seen uh the Air Force Thunderbirds, this is their precision flying unit that's based out of Nellis Air Force Base right here in Las Vegas.
- 1:16Sean McAllister: If you have not seen them do a flyover and there is an opportunity to do it because it like rumbles your insides.
- 1:26Sean McAllister: They are so they're 18 inches apart.
- 1:30Sean McAllister: They're wingtips.
- 1:31Dayna Roselli: It's amazing.
- 1:32Sean McAllister: Like that is just such an incredible uh feat of aviation that those uh pilots pull off.
- 1:39Sean McAllister: So yeah, went out to uh Hoover Dam bright and early, and the Thunderbirds did a flyover of Hoover Dam because that massive American flag is draped down the uh face of the dam.
- 1:52Sean McAllister: So it was a nice patriotic moment uh during in the lead up to Fourth of July, celebrating America's 250th anniversary.
- 2:02Sean McAllister: And then straight from Hoover Dam, the Thunderbirds were flying directly to Washington, D.C., where they're taking part in festivities there in the nation's capital.
- 2:11Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 2:12Dayna Roselli: And you were saying they're fueling midway in the air?
- 2:14Sean McAllister: Yeah, I heard that they are not stopping on the ground to refuel, that they're refueling mid-air to make it the most efficient flight possible.
- 2:22Dayna Roselli: Okay, good.
- 2:23Dayna Roselli: Well, and they did flyovers all around the valley.
- 2:26Dayna Roselli: What night was that Saturday night, too?
- 2:28Dayna Roselli: Saturday night.
- 2:28Dayna Roselli: People were just loving it, you know, over the strip and uh even out in Summerlin and um it was great for everyone to be able to see how spectacular it is.
- 2:39Sean McAllister: You know, I was talking with uh one of the Thunderbird crew members, uh Peyton Purcell, he's the uh technical sergeant who was on the ground with us at this viewing area to watch the flyover, and I talked to him afterwards, and I said, you know, you're on the ground.
- 2:55Sean McAllister: You get to see and hear the reactions from people who are seeing this incredible thing.
- 3:03Sean McAllister: Are there any that are there any reactions that stand out to you?
- 3:06Sean McAllister: And he said, actually, while the Thunderbirds were doing the the flyover all over Las Vegas, out at the uh Las Vegas ballpark in downtown Summerlin, there was a baseball game going on, and uh the bleachers, the stands were packed with with fans.
- 3:23Sean McAllister: And he said, as the Thunderbirds were approaching, you could see their smoke trail as they were getting near the stadium.
- 3:29Sean McAllister: He said the entire place just started chanting USA.
- 3:34Sean McAllister: That's cool.
- 3:35Sean McAllister: USA and he said it gave him instant goosebumps and was the most patriotic feeling that he's ever had.
- 3:43Dayna Roselli: I love that.
- 3:44Dayna Roselli: I'm surprised we haven't seen a video of that.
- 3:46Dayna Roselli: Anyone showing it.
- 3:47Dayna Roselli: Oh, that sounds great.
- 3:49Dayna Roselli: We got to get that for the TV show, right?
- 3:51Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that's really cool.
- 3:52Dayna Roselli: And I love that he shared that.
- 3:54Dayna Roselli: See, he sometimes it's like easy for someone to think of a quick answer because when something really just happened and moved them.
- 4:00Dayna Roselli: So love that.
- 4:01Dayna Roselli: Um, yeah, people don't sometimes realize that, you know, Nellis Air Force Base, it's the best of the best up there.
- 4:06Dayna Roselli: It's like the top gun.
- 4:08Dayna Roselli: So, I mean, it's an honor to have them in the Las Vegas Valley, and we get to see them practicing some times and stuff like that and have the flyovers.
- 4:17Sean McAllister: You know, another thing I learned is that they are on the road for like 240 something days a year.
- 4:25Sean McAllister: Their flight season goes from January to the end of November.
- 4:30Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 4:30Sean McAllister: They only get December off.
- 4:32Dayna Roselli: Wow.
- 4:33Sean McAllister: And they're busy going to air shows, doing uh, you know, military events, all that kind of stuff um throughout the entire rest of the year.
- 4:41Dayna Roselli: They're great.
- 4:42Dayna Roselli: I'm glad we've been able to see a lot of that around town.
- 4:45Dayna Roselli: Listen, we've had so many fireworks displays lately.
- 4:48Dayna Roselli: We have one, uh, well, not one more.
- 4:50Dayna Roselli: We have another, a big one coming up on the 4th of July.
- 4:53Dayna Roselli: Nine hotels will participate in this one.
- 4:55Dayna Roselli: So we hope you get to see it.
- 4:56Dayna Roselli: It's always spectacular.
- 4:58Dayna Roselli: That's kind of the same as New Year's Eve.
- 5:00Dayna Roselli: And then there the fireworks on Saturdays will continue through until the end of July.
- 5:05Dayna Roselli: Um, also gonna be hitting up.
- 5:07Dayna Roselli: Well, this actually would land the day after I already go, to uh Palace Station because Station Casinos is doing their 50th anniversary.
- 5:15Dayna Roselli: There's fireworks, a drone show.
- 5:17Dayna Roselli: So we are fireworks everywhere, America.
- 5:20Sean McAllister: Man, we are lighting up the sky here in Las Vegas more than we normally do.
- 5:24Dayna Roselli: Well, you know what's lighting up the road, Sean?
- 5:26Dayna Roselli: Everyone's talking about this this new, well, I guess you'd call it fast foodish restaurant called the Hat.
- 5:32Dayna Roselli: We talked about it before.
- 5:33Dayna Roselli: Came in.
- 5:34Dayna Roselli: We have one now.
- 5:35Dayna Roselli: It's from California.
- 5:36Dayna Roselli: It's pastrami sandwiches and pastrami involved in things, like I think on top of fries.
- 5:43Sean McAllister: Fries and the yeah.
- 5:44Dayna Roselli: But um, just quickly wanted to mention I was at the dentist and they were like, Have you been to the hat yet?
- 5:48Dayna Roselli: I'm like, no, why?
- 5:48Dayna Roselli: And it's like, oh, well, the lines like every day, they're so long, I'm waiting for it to calm down.
- 5:53Dayna Roselli: I'm like, wait, still?
- 5:54Dayna Roselli: Because it opened like I think a couple months ago.
- 5:56Dayna Roselli: And she's like, oh yeah, it's like there's constant lines.
- 6:00Dayna Roselli: So I was like, okay, well, probably not all the time, but okay, you know, maybe at the busy times.
- 6:04Dayna Roselli: But anyway, I drove by on like a Sunday afternoon at like what was four o'clock.
- 6:08Dayna Roselli: And I was like, what's this commotion in a parking lot?
- 6:11Dayna Roselli: And then I realized it was the hat.
- 6:13Dayna Roselli: There were cars wrapped around the parking lot down the side street.
- 6:18Dayna Roselli: There's yellow ropes up.
- 6:20Dayna Roselli: There was a line for the hat drive-thru.
- 6:22Sean McAllister: Oh my god.
- 6:23Dayna Roselli: That I've never seen so long.
- 6:25Dayna Roselli: So apparently it's a thing, and we're gonna have to go check it out.
- 6:30Dayna Roselli: However, I was thinking that probably proves we have a lot, you know, how many Californians we have in Las Vegas living here that must be happy the hat is here.
- 6:39Dayna Roselli: Word of mouth, you know, you gotta try the hat, and it's just a steady flow of people.
- 6:44Sean McAllister: Yeah, because the hat came to us via Southern California.
- 6:48Sean McAllister: So, yeah, a lot of those people, and you know what?
- 6:51Sean McAllister: A lot of East Coasters love a pastrami sandwich too.
- 6:54Sean McAllister: And we have a lot of East Coast transplants as well.
- 6:57Dayna Roselli: True, true.
- 6:58Dayna Roselli: I mean, it looks good, so we've got to go there sometime when the line is shorter.
- 7:02Sean McAllister: I'm one of those pastrami lovers.
- 7:04Dayna Roselli: I like pastrami, I think it's good too, right?
- 7:06Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I mean, it's great.
- 7:09Dayna Roselli: Especially add some cheese and pour it on fries.
- 7:14Sean McAllister: That's exciting though.
- 7:15Sean McAllister: I'm glad that the uh it's uh the first location in Las Vegas.
- 7:18Sean McAllister: Glad to see that people are taking to it and doing crazy business.
- 7:23Dayna Roselli: So any of our California listeners or anyone that's been to the hat, uh tell us, is it worth the hype?
- 7:29Dayna Roselli: Send us some fan mail.
- 7:30Dayna Roselli: We've got a link in our show notes.
- 7:32Dayna Roselli: Uh, you can always hit that and text us.
- 7:34Dayna Roselli: We don't get your number or where you're from.
- 7:36Dayna Roselli: You can say who you are and where you're from, but we only get the last four digits, I think.
- 7:40Dayna Roselli: Um, so let us know.
- 7:41Dayna Roselli: We love to hear from you.
- 7:42Dayna Roselli: Speaking of, recently we had a viewer write us, you know, sometimes we get like quick questions, like where and then I respond and I don't hear back, which is okay.
- 7:51Dayna Roselli: But uh, someone was writing to us saying, like, what can I do for 35 bucks on the 4th of July or whatever.
- 7:56Dayna Roselli: And I sat there going, what?
- 7:57Dayna Roselli: And then I was thinking about the Brooklyn Bridge thing we talked about in the hot dog eating contest.
- 8:01Dayna Roselli: That's happening, and then you could stay on the bridge and watch the fireworks.
- 8:05Sean McAllister: Um and those hot dogs at Brooklyn Bridge were like$2.50, right?
- 8:08Sean McAllister: Yeah, for the Oh,$2.50.
- 8:10Sean McAllister: American$250.
- 8:11Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 8:12Dayna Roselli: Um, so I don't know, there's a lot of different things happening, and like even like the I think um like the Fountain Blue is having like a viewing party for the fireworks.
- 8:21Dayna Roselli: Um, I know if you stay there, it's free.
- 8:23Dayna Roselli: Um, but I don't think it was very much to get up on the you know the deck to or the pool deck to see it either.
- 8:30Dayna Roselli: So like there are places you can like go in and you know just pay pay a fee to you know see the fireworks.
- 8:37Dayna Roselli: So check out all the hotel websites.
- 8:40Dayna Roselli: There's plenty of things to do.
- 8:41Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 8:42Sean McAllister: And I mean you can probably squeeze a lot out of 35 bucks and turn it into an entire evening.
- 8:51Dayna Roselli: By the way, big shout out to Wiener Schnitzel who sent me a media kit because you said hot dog.
- 8:57Dayna Roselli: They sent me a great media kit to celebrate America's 250.
- 9:02Sean McAllister: I'm laughing because I know where this is going.
- 9:04Dayna Roselli: Well, they sent me a hat that said I love American wieners, and I just thought it was funny.
- 9:08Dayna Roselli: Um, and in fact, you know, I'm gonna be honest, I just got my eyebrows trimmed today.
- 9:14Dayna Roselli: Um, and my wonderful friend and the girl who's been doing my eyebrows forever, Christine, it was her birthday, and I knew she'd get a kick out of the hat, so I gave it to her.
- 9:22Dayna Roselli: And she's so excited.
- 9:24Dayna Roselli: But I kept a few of the things too that I loved, and I know we're gonna uh we have a we got a hot dog.
- 9:31Dayna Roselli: So thank you, Wiener Schnitzel.
- 9:33Dayna Roselli: Um, they're doing you know lots of different promos for you know, hot dog.
- 9:36Dayna Roselli: What's more Americana than a hot dog?
- 9:38Sean McAllister: I mean, only apple pie, but you don't get that at Wiener Schnitzel.
- 9:42Sean McAllister: It works well.
- 9:44unknown: True.
- 9:44Sean McAllister: You know what else is really American?
- 9:46Sean McAllister: Yeah, and it was sporting red, white, and blue on the famous jumpsuit.
- 9:50Sean McAllister: Evil Knievel, the famous Daredevil.
- 9:54Sean McAllister: Uh, a new museum and interactive experience dedicated to Evil Knievel just opened on First Street in downtown Las Vegas.
- 10:03Sean McAllister: This is in the arts district area.
- 10:05Sean McAllister: And man, we talk about there were people uh showing up at at the hat and the drive-thru, and the turnout for the opening of this Evil Knievel museum was remarkable too.
- 10:19Sean McAllister: Yeah, that place was packed.
- 10:20Dayna Roselli: It was, and this wasn't even like the opening opening, it was like invites, you know, like a preview.
- 10:25Sean McAllister: Right.
- 10:26Sean McAllister: Like a ribbon cutting kind of deal.
- 10:27Dayna Roselli: Then they had a party on a Friday night, then they had like a big opening for the public on the Saturday, and um, we've had two social media posts go viral, one on TikTok and one on uh Instagram.
- 10:39Dayna Roselli: And people are just loving this interview we did with uh Evil Knievel's son, Kelly Knievel, who was there.
- 10:46Dayna Roselli: We found it very interesting too.
- 10:48Dayna Roselli: It was a lot of fun to talk to him and just get his take on, you know, how long this took to, you know, was this always in the thoughts of of of having this, you know, um, this place, you know, to celebrate his dad and stuff.
- 11:03Dayna Roselli: And he said, yes, for sure.
- 11:05Dayna Roselli: And they were so emotional and so gracious that day.
- 11:08Dayna Roselli: So let's play that interview.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: When we plan this uh experience, you know, we just didn't want a static museum going on.
- 11:16SPEAKER_00: We want something that people can come, they can understand how this man got to be the most famous guy in the world in the 70s, and we we hope we've captured a lot of that here, and uh why it's inspired so many extreme sports people and and why it inspired how the half the country was on the edge of their seats in the 70s, and we hope we've captured a lot of that here.
- 11:42Dayna Roselli: Well, that's the thing, it's like things that are entertaining, experiences, things that we get to watch, live events, all that kind of stuff.
- 11:47Dayna Roselli: I mean, it is important.
- 11:50Dayna Roselli: That's what we as people look forward to, right?
- 11:53Dayna Roselli: That's what entertains us, that's what moves us.
- 11:55Dayna Roselli: Why would we be here?
- 11:56Dayna Roselli: I mean, and he was a big part of that.
- 11:58SPEAKER_00: Well, my dad used to say, you know, we got to give people something to talk about at the water cooler tomorrow.
- 12:04SPEAKER_02: You sure did.
- 12:07SPEAKER_00: That's part of who he was.
- 12:08SPEAKER_00: You know, one of my friends told me um one of my high school friends was on his uh mountain bike and he went over the handlebars and he broke his hip.
- 12:17SPEAKER_00: And he told me, he goes, Kelly, I couldn't move a quarter of an inch.
- 12:21SPEAKER_00: It was the most excruciating pain.
- 12:24SPEAKER_00: He goes, All I could think about was how tough your dad must have been.
- 12:29SPEAKER_00: Seriously.
- 12:30Dayna Roselli: What was it like for you growing up around it?
- 12:33Dayna Roselli: Did it seem normal?
- 12:34Dayna Roselli: Because to anyone else that would talk to you right now would be like that couldn't have been normal, but maybe to you it was.
- 12:39SPEAKER_00: I've I've been asked that question so many times.
- 12:42SPEAKER_00: So, yes, it's normal because that's what I knew when we were growing up.
- 12:45SPEAKER_00: And it's not like today, it's not like we grew up in Hollywood or uh with social media or anything.
- 12:51SPEAKER_00: My dad was a very down-to-earth man.
- 12:53SPEAKER_00: I mean, he he he was he had a very, very big personality.
- 12:59SPEAKER_00: I mean, he knew who he was and what he was about at the exact same time he was, but he he wasn't any different at the breakfast table than he was when he was outperforming.
- 13:08SPEAKER_00: He was the same guy.
- 13:09SPEAKER_00: There was no act about him.
- 13:10SPEAKER_00: That's why it was so real and why everyone believed in it so much.
- 13:14SPEAKER_00: Why he believed in himself and and it wasn't fake, and that's why everybody else believed it too.
- 13:19Dayna Roselli: Do you think he would have wanted this?
- 13:20Dayna Roselli: What would he, if he was here, what would he say when the doors open?
- 13:25Dayna Roselli: Is this something that you think that he dreamed of or would have never thought there would be an experience specifically about him in Las Vegas?
- 13:38SPEAKER_00: Um I'd say for 30 years, my dad always wanted to open something like this.
- 13:46SPEAKER_00: I remember going to meetings with my dad 20 years ago with people.
- 13:51SPEAKER_00: Uh how how his legacy has still carried on all these years.
- 13:56SPEAKER_00: Uh, and we're able to open this experience to such great notoriety.
- 14:02SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, my dad used to tell me he'd say, Kelly, I'm gonna be worth more dead than alive, and if you can't make any money off it, you don't deserve any.
- 14:13SPEAKER_02: I love that.
- 14:15SPEAKER_00: Good for you.
- 14:16SPEAKER_00: You've done him proud.
- 14:17SPEAKER_00: He's a very practical man.
- 14:20SPEAKER_00: So he gets it.
- 14:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so there's no messing around with evil canavers.
- 14:24SPEAKER_00: So, you know, we gotta sell tickets, but I think it's a place people are gonna come to, they're gonna like it, they're gonna tell their friends because it's first class, over the top.
- 14:33Dayna Roselli: Well, congratulations to you, your family, all your partners.
- 14:36Dayna Roselli: It's beautiful.
- 14:36Dayna Roselli: Uh, we're happy to have you here.
- 14:38Dayna Roselli: Really, congratulations.
- 14:39Dayna Roselli: I love the honesty, right?
- 14:41Dayna Roselli: He's right though.
- 14:42Dayna Roselli: He is right, and yeah, people just on our on our TikTok and on our Instagram, people are commenting over and over us how how much Kelly looks like his dad.
- 14:51Dayna Roselli: Yes, and sounds like his dad.
- 14:54Dayna Roselli: And people are, you know, just like, wow, I you know, it's it's striking to see the resemblance.
- 15:02Sean McAllister: And people are also reminiscing about their earliest evil can evil memories.
- 15:06Sean McAllister: Like, oh my gosh, I remember sitting around the TV and watching him jump the Snake Canyon, or uh, you know, he had so many uh televised uh stunts over the years.
- 15:18Sean McAllister: Um, and other people are like, oh my gosh, my husband and I are coming into Vegas for our anniversary.
- 15:24Sean McAllister: We're definitely stopping here.
- 15:27Sean McAllister: And what you can expect when you go inside, this is an interactive uh experience.
- 15:33Sean McAllister: There's one, uh I'll call it an exhibit, where it's a virtual reality kind of deal, but you get to feel what it's like to be uh evil can evil in one of his iconic jumps.
- 15:47Sean McAllister: And uh even for uh current stunt riders who were there at the opening, they were like, wow, that was legit.
- 15:56Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 15:57Sean McAllister: There's the oversized, uh life-sized toy that uh you may have had growing up.
- 16:04Sean McAllister: Uh it's the motorcycle toy of Evil Knievel where there's the crank on the on the side, and once you crank it enough, the motorcycle zips across the floor.
- 16:13Sean McAllister: I had that.
- 16:14Dayna Roselli: So many people had that.
- 16:15Sean McAllister: Uh the giant Evil Knievel uh like semi-truck is in there.
- 16:21Sean McAllister: There's so much.
- 16:22Sean McAllister: His motorcycles, his uh stunt vehicles.
- 16:26Sean McAllister: There's a ton of memorabilia.
- 16:28Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and they said it could like, you know, you could run through it in maybe an hour and a half, two hours, but you could spend even longer because there's so much to read and so many films and so many things to look at.
- 16:39Dayna Roselli: So we actually are gonna put together a story on this.
- 16:42Dayna Roselli: We did a lot of interviews when we were there.
- 16:44Dayna Roselli: We interviewed uh Colby Raja, another daredevil.
- 16:47Dayna Roselli: You know, he just jumped the fountains at Caesars too, uh, inspired by Evil Knievel.
- 16:52Dayna Roselli: Um, we interviewed one of the co-founders and creators to talk a little bit more about what you'll get.
- 16:56Dayna Roselli: So we'll we'll put that in here at another time.
- 16:58Dayna Roselli: But we just wanted to share that interview with Kelly and say congratulations.
- 17:02Dayna Roselli: It's a big deal.
- 17:03Dayna Roselli: Welcome to downtown Las Vegas.
- 17:05Dayna Roselli: The mayor was there, she's happy to have him, Shelly Berkeley.
- 17:08Dayna Roselli: Um, and they, you know, made that day the Evil Knievel day in Las Vegas.
- 17:13Dayna Roselli: So it's on First Street, right?
- 17:15Sean McAllister: On First Street.
- 17:16Sean McAllister: Yep.
- 17:16Sean McAllister: First Street in downtown Las Vegas.
- 17:18Dayna Roselli: Big black kind of warehouse-looking building.
- 17:20Dayna Roselli: It's got a parking lot out front.
- 17:21Dayna Roselli: So welcome to town.
- 17:24Dayna Roselli: Um, when we went to see a show at the Fountain Blue recently, we went over to Washing Potato, and it's one of the restaurants that you and I had not been to yet.
- 17:31Dayna Roselli: It's more of a casual restaurant in the Fountain Blue.
- 17:34Dayna Roselli: Um, and let me tell you, how good was the food?
- 17:37Dayna Roselli: Uh so um I was like, well, how do I, it's you know, kind of a dim sum, like a variety, but um Chinese cooking.
- 17:43Dayna Roselli: Um, because people are going, well, oh, you had me at potato, and I'm like, well, it's not necessarily that's the name of it, but it's Chinese food and dim sum.
- 17:51Dayna Roselli: Um and you know, they have authentic noodles, and we had what do we we had dumplings?
- 17:57Sean McAllister: We had dumplings that were absolutely delicious, amazing.
- 18:01Sean McAllister: Um, we had the fried rice.
- 18:03Dayna Roselli: Oh, that was so good.
- 18:04Dayna Roselli: What did we get the shrimp?
- 18:04Sean McAllister: I think we had shrimp fried rice.
- 18:06Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that was so good.
- 18:07Sean McAllister: So amazing.
- 18:08Dayna Roselli: We had that cucumber salad.
- 18:10Dayna Roselli: Oh that that really was so fresh.
- 18:14Sean McAllister: Fresh.
- 18:14Sean McAllister: And on a hot summer day, that cucumber salad.
- 18:17Sean McAllister: I would eat that every single day, I think.
- 18:21Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and even the the dumplings were different too.
- 18:23Dayna Roselli: They were like flat and rounded.
- 18:25Dayna Roselli: It was I loved it.
- 18:26Dayna Roselli: Yeah, the shrimp.
- 18:27Dayna Roselli: We got the shrimp.
- 18:27Dayna Roselli: Oh, we got that beef, that peppered beef.
- 18:29Sean McAllister: Oh, the peppered beef.
- 18:31Sean McAllister: With the pepper, so good.
- 18:32Dayna Roselli: Oh, that was delicious.
- 18:33Dayna Roselli: We had a great and the drinks were great, the staff was great.
- 18:36Dayna Roselli: Really enjoyed it.

- 18:38Dayna Roselli: It's a cool-looking restaurant, right?
- 18:40Dayna Roselli: Um, so different.
- 18:41Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 18:42Dayna Roselli: The washing potato, highly recommend it.
- 18:44Dayna Roselli: We had a great meal there.
- 18:46Dayna Roselli: Um, there's something I wanted to talk about, but we can't really show.
- 18:49Dayna Roselli: JJ and Sean are correspondents in the Vegas Reveal TV show.
- 18:52Dayna Roselli: They've been doing this segment called Take On, JJ and Sean Take On, where they take on different things.
- 18:56Dayna Roselli: Um, and they recently went to Interstellar Arc at Area 15.
- 19:01Dayna Roselli: It's kind of something you need to see.
- 19:03Dayna Roselli: So you'll want to go to our YouTube channel to show because it's virtual reality.
- 19:07Sean McAllister: It's virtual reality, but it's like you get up and walk around in this virtual reality world, and there's all these sensors that make sure that what you're seeing on your VR goggles corresponds to the physical room that you're walking around in.
- 19:24Sean McAllister: Right.
- 19:25Sean McAllister: So you're not gonna like run into a wall or something.
- 19:28Sean McAllister: Um and it's just it's futuristic, uh, it's a it's space travel and it's virtual reality that puts you right in the middle of this uh future environment.
- 19:41Sean McAllister: So um it's a really uh uh cool story.
- 19:45Sean McAllister: You should definitely check it out on our Vegas Revealed YouTube channel because it is difficult to explain without the visual.
- 19:52Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 19:53Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we have it on there.
- 19:54Dayna Roselli: You know, it's uh it people are giving it great reviews.
- 19:57Dayna Roselli: JJ and Sean loved it.
- 19:59Dayna Roselli: Um, and the creators are award winners, so go check it out at InterstellarArc at Area 15.
- 20:06Dayna Roselli: Man, Area 15 is just opening stuff up every single week.
- 20:10Sean McAllister: And there's still more to come this summer and into the fall.
- 20:14Sean McAllister: There's gonna be more experiences and attractions over there at Area 15 that we'll be talking about.
- 20:19Dayna Roselli: Yeah, because I think the Museum of Ice Cream opens this week, too.
- 20:22Dayna Roselli: So another day, and that'll be the slap the flagship, excuse me, uh museum for the Museum of Ice Cream.
- 20:28Dayna Roselli: So that's a big deal, too.
- 20:29Sean McAllister: That might be my new favorite museum.
- 20:31Dayna Roselli: It was really we saw some pictures.
- 20:33Dayna Roselli: We haven't been yet, but it looks really cute, right?
- 20:35Sean McAllister: It does.
- 20:36Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it looks like a lot of fun.
- 20:37Dayna Roselli: And they say they made it very Vegas, so I look forward to to checking it out and and seeing it.
- 20:42Dayna Roselli: They opened the eyedropper there, which we can get into another time because JJ and Sean are going on the eyedropper, and that's a new ride at Area 15.
- 20:48Sean McAllister: They're taking it on, not us.
- 20:50Dayna Roselli: Sean more uh Sean and I, this is more our speed, the Bellaggio Conservatory.
- 20:54Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 20:55Dayna Roselli: Um, we love it, the conservatory and botanical gardens.
- 20:59Dayna Roselli: We always say, you know, it's a staple in Las Vegas.
- 21:02Dayna Roselli: It's always worth talking about.
- 21:04Dayna Roselli: It's free, it's 24-7.
- 21:06Dayna Roselli: Um, but they they do have the uh summer season display out.
- 21:10Dayna Roselli: So we wanted to let you know that.
- 21:11Dayna Roselli: And that goes through September 12th.
- 21:13Dayna Roselli: It's called Paradise Nature's Most Beautiful Creations.
- 21:17Dayna Roselli: And so if you want to go check out the summer display, it's got a lot going on.
- 21:21Dayna Roselli: Exotic wildlife, lush greenery, vibrant florals.
- 21:25Dayna Roselli: Um, they're bringing the the beauty of the jungle to the desert.
- 21:28Dayna Roselli: There are more than 20,000 plants featured in the display.
- 21:30Sean McAllister: Yeah, it's a really spectacular, as uh pretty much all of the displays over there are.
- 21:36Sean McAllister: But new this season, um, the conservatory debuted kind of like a little um watering hole spot.
- 21:44Dayna Roselli: Yeah, this is cool.
- 21:45Dayna Roselli: It's the first ever nightly cocktail experience featuring a curated three-course journey with handcrafted cocktails and small plates right there in the middle of the summer display.
- 21:55Sean McAllister: And it's like this multi-story hut that they've built.
- 22:00Sean McAllister: Inside the conservatory, and that's like your own private little space if you do this cocktail experience.
- 22:08Dayna Roselli: A lot of people will do that.
- 22:09Sean McAllister: I think so.
- 22:10Dayna Roselli: But again, 24-7, free.
- 22:12Dayna Roselli: Go check out the Bellagio display.
- 22:14Dayna Roselli: We just got back uh yesterday.
- 22:15Dayna Roselli: We did a gondola ride at the Venetian.
- 22:17Dayna Roselli: Can't wait to share that with you.
- 22:19Dayna Roselli: We learned a lot about the gondolers.
- 22:22Dayna Roselli: Um, it they they are really special and talented people.
- 22:25Dayna Roselli: So can't wait to we've been doing so many stories that we can't wait to share with you.
- 22:30Dayna Roselli: Just did a story on the casino collectible show.
- 22:32Dayna Roselli: We've got a lot of things coming up.
- 22:33Dayna Roselli: So, but first, let's uh before we get to that in future episodes, right now we're gonna go to Celebrity News with a Vegas Twist.
- 22:44Sean McAllister: All right, celebrity news with a Vegas twist.
- 22:46Sean McAllister: And to kick it off, uh, how about an entertainment icon?
- 22:50Sean McAllister: Debbie Gibson.
- 22:51Sean McAllister: If you listen to the podcast regularly, you know that Debbie Gibson lives here in Las Vegas, and she's also one of our friends.
- 22:58Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and and we were excited to go celebrate her at the Silver State Awards recently over at the Sahara.
- 23:04Dayna Roselli: She invited us to sit at her table, and we said, of course, she was being honored as an entertainment icon.
- 23:10Dayna Roselli: And this was the Silver State Women's Award.
- 23:13Dayna Roselli: So they were honoring uh women that are making a difference, lots of different categories, but she was um, and and that was, you know, people that were being nominated and voted on, but she was actually just given and honored as an entertainment icon.
- 23:26Dayna Roselli: Um, love that.
- 23:27Dayna Roselli: So we went and we had such a blast, didn't we?
- 23:30Dayna Roselli: And we got to see so many great people that live here in Las Vegas, you know, entertainers, businesswomen, uh, publicists, uh, all sorts, you know, creators.
- 23:40Dayna Roselli: It was great.
- 23:41Sean McAllister: Yeah, and one of our uh state Supreme Court justices was also honored.
- 23:46Sean McAllister: And it turns out she is like a massive Debbie Gibson fan.
- 23:51Sean McAllister: And so when she got up to do her speech, she was looking right at Debbie and she was like, I cannot believe that I am in a room here accepting this award and having Debbie Gibson right in front of me.
- 24:03Dayna Roselli: I know, and that's great.
- 24:05Dayna Roselli: And you know, Debbie does love that.
- 24:07Dayna Roselli: I don't mean she loves being admired, I mean that I know she is a busy person, and when she does show up to things, she loves that it could possibly bring joy to someone.
- 24:20Dayna Roselli: That's why she does what she does, that's why she creates, makes music, writes songs, sings, performs, and it's fun for her.
- 24:26Dayna Roselli: And so that was a very sweet moment.
- 24:28Dayna Roselli: And I I know Debbie really loved that.
- 24:30Sean McAllister: And that her music has had an impact on so many people's lives.
- 24:35Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 24:35Sean McAllister: You know, uh it got people through breakups and, you know, relationships and moments in life.
- 24:43Sean McAllister: And that's really why uh Debbie was honored as an icon.
- 24:48Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 24:49Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it was great.
- 24:50Dayna Roselli: She was presented uh the honor by Pia Zodora.
- 24:54Dayna Roselli: Um, so when we're talking, you know, this we've got two celebrities here.
- 24:57Dayna Roselli: Celebrity News with a Vegas twist.
- 24:59Dayna Roselli: So we got to see Pia Zodora.
- 25:00Dayna Roselli: I hadn't seen her in person in a little while.
- 25:02Dayna Roselli: It was great to see Pia.
- 25:03Dayna Roselli: She's looking fantastic.
- 25:04Dayna Roselli: Debbie looked stunning too, by the way.
- 25:06Dayna Roselli: Everyone looked wonderful.
- 25:08Dayna Roselli: Um, but that was fun to see her present and see Debbie and her chat.
- 25:12Dayna Roselli: I think it was the first time that Debbie had ever met Pia.
- 25:15Dayna Roselli: And she was super honored to be presented the award by her.
- 25:20Dayna Roselli: Um, Lisa Vanderpump was also honored, but she couldn't make it.
- 25:23Dayna Roselli: Um, and she was in another country, but sent in a video and was honored to be recognized.
- 25:29Dayna Roselli: So that so that was fun.
- 25:31Dayna Roselli: Um, we got to see uh, you know who else said at our table?
- 25:34Dayna Roselli: Bobby Watman.
- 25:35Dayna Roselli: He's Debbie's friend, so longtime friend.
- 25:37Dayna Roselli: I've met him at uh some of her birthday parties and stuff, but he's now moved to Vegas and he actually has a serious XM show that he hosts.
- 25:45Dayna Roselli: Fairly, fairly new at hosting it, but it's the 70s on seven, and he's great.
- 25:50Dayna Roselli: It was a lot of fun to talk to him.
- 25:51Dayna Roselli: He's actually the founder of Poly Esters and Culture Club.
- 25:54Dayna Roselli: Remember the there was a Poly Esters at Strath that I loved that nightclub.
- 25:59Sean McAllister: I remember that, but I don't think that I ever actually went.
- 26:02Dayna Roselli: It was fun.
- 26:03Dayna Roselli: And they had, I feel like that was the beginning of like immersive because they had the the Brady Bunch squares.
- 26:08Dayna Roselli: Oh my god.
- 26:09Dayna Roselli: Where you could put your head in and everyone could take their picture.
- 26:11Sean McAllister: That's so fun.
- 26:12Dayna Roselli: Oh my god.
- 26:13Dayna Roselli: He was he's really good at at that, and that's why he's hosting the show now.
- 26:17Dayna Roselli: He's got a lot of personality, and he's here in Vegas.
- 26:20Dayna Roselli: So if you get a chance, support him.
- 26:21Dayna Roselli: 70s on seven on Sirius XM if you want to get your groove and your disco on.
- 26:26Sean McAllister: I feel like polyesters needs to make a comeback.
- 26:28Dayna Roselli: I really think it should.
- 26:29Dayna Roselli: I mean, we got to get in Bobby's ear, maybe.
- 26:32Dayna Roselli: Well, and tell him it's time to open it up again now that you're here.
- 26:35Sean McAllister: Let's send him a text.
- 26:36Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 26:37Dayna Roselli: So Bobby Wapman, open that polyester's again.
- 26:40Dayna Roselli: I'm ready.
- 26:41Dayna Roselli: I'm ready.
- 26:42Dayna Roselli: We got to see our friend Zoe Bowie, a great entertainer here in Las Vegas.
- 26:45Dayna Roselli: It performs all over.
- 26:46Dayna Roselli: Red Rock, downtown.
- 26:48Dayna Roselli: Um, that was great to see him.
- 26:50Dayna Roselli: And you know what?
- 26:51Dayna Roselli: The hosts were great too.
- 26:53Dayna Roselli: Um, Johnny D was there.
- 26:55Dayna Roselli: So funny.
- 26:55Dayna Roselli: He's been on the podcast before.
- 26:57Sean McAllister: Yeah, he has.
- 26:58Dayna Roselli: And he does impersonations, they're always very funny.
- 27:02Dayna Roselli: Um, of different, you know, he's Austin Powers.
- 27:05Dayna Roselli: He's really known for his president Trump, Donald Trump, I should say, impersonation, because he's been doing it even before he was president.
- 27:12Dayna Roselli: Um, but um, and he went into that mode a little bit.
- 27:17Dayna Roselli: And what did he say about Debbie?
- 27:18SPEAKER_02: He's like, oh, Debbie, oh, she used to want to date me back in the 80s.
- 27:22SPEAKER_02: But and I said to her, Oh, electric youth, uh, electric youth.
- 27:25SPEAKER_02: I'm much older, but electric youth.
- 27:27Sean McAllister: He's so funny and so quick.
- 27:31unknown: Quick.
- 27:32Sean McAllister: Oh my gosh.
- 27:34Sean McAllister: He could have, I think that bit could have kept going for like 10 more minutes, and people would have uh eaten it all up.
- 27:41Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 27:42Dayna Roselli: And Dev was laughing.
- 27:44Dayna Roselli: Uh, so funny.
- 27:45Dayna Roselli: Uh John D.
- 27:46Dayna Roselli: Dominico.
- 27:47Dayna Roselli: You can find him on Instagram and TikTok if you want to see where he gets in the full outfit.
- 27:52Sean McAllister: Yes, he does.
- 27:52Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 27:53Dayna Roselli: So, and you know, he gets hired for do events and oh, he goes all over the country.
- 27:57Sean McAllister: All over the country to MC and Post, yeah.
- 28:01Dayna Roselli: That's really good.
- 28:01Dayna Roselli: Um, so that was so much fun.
- 28:03Dayna Roselli: So we're there, and all of a sudden, um we win best podcast, and we didn't even know we were up for this award.
- 28:10Dayna Roselli: So apparently, you know, I guess because I'm a woman and we do a podcast together, um, that that we were one of the nominated podcasts, and we tied.
- 28:21Dayna Roselli: Uh, so I was super excited to off the cuff go up and grab a trophy and give a speech.
- 28:28Dayna Roselli: I think I did okay.
- 28:29Dayna Roselli: How was it?
- 28:30Sean McAllister: I think you did great.
- 28:31Sean McAllister: Okay, good.
- 28:31Sean McAllister: I was I went up on stage uh with you also, but I kind of stood to the back because I was standing up there and it dawned on me.
- 28:38Sean McAllister: I was like, these are the women's awards.
- 28:41Sean McAllister: I probably shouldn't be up here.
- 28:43Sean McAllister: And then I felt a little awkward and I was like, Well, Dana's having her moment here.
- 28:48Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 28:49Dayna Roselli: Well, listen, you're part of the podcast.
- 28:50Dayna Roselli: We created it together.
- 28:51Dayna Roselli: I'm a woman.
- 28:52Dayna Roselli: Um, so we were super honored.
- 28:54Sean McAllister: And I'm an ally of women.
- 28:55Dayna Roselli: Yes, exactly.
- 28:57Dayna Roselli: Um, yeah, we were really, really honored um to even be considered.
- 29:01Dayna Roselli: So that was a lot of fun.
- 29:02Sean McAllister: The successful women's podcast is the show that we tied with.
- 29:06Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 29:07Dayna Roselli: Galeet was her name.
- 29:08Dayna Roselli: She was great.
- 29:09Dayna Roselli: Uh, we're friends now on Insta, and and I want to listen to her podcast.
- 29:13Dayna Roselli: So if you're interested, she interviews, you know, successful women and women making a difference and women supporting women.
- 29:18Dayna Roselli: And so was proud of her and and love that we tied with another great podcast.
- 29:23Dayna Roselli: So congratulations to everyone who uh attended and won at the uh Silver State Awards.
- 29:29Dayna Roselli: They do those often, I think a couple times a year.
- 29:31Sean McAllister: I think this was the 38th edition of the Silver State Awards.
- 29:35Dayna Roselli: Could have been, could have been.
- 29:37Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 29:37Dayna Roselli: I remember I hosted the first like three years, the first three.
- 29:41Dayna Roselli: I don't know if it was years, like yeah, the first three awards um hosted with actually Robin Leach a bunch of times before he passed away.
- 29:48Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 29:49Dayna Roselli: And uh one year we honored Carrie Simon, and that was wonderful.
- 29:53Sean McAllister: I remember that yeah.
- 29:54Dayna Roselli: Chef Carrie Simon, yeah.
- 29:55Dayna Roselli: So it was a long time ago.
- 29:57Dayna Roselli: Um, but yeah, they've been it's been around a long time.
- 29:59Dayna Roselli: Paulo, you know, puts it together and does a nice job honoring people that are making a difference here in Las Vegas.
- 30:05Dayna Roselli: You know, there's so many award shows that honor people from, you know, Pacific Southwest and you know, all across the country, and a lot of times you have to submit and pay to be even considered.
- 30:15Dayna Roselli: And this is none of that.
- 30:16Dayna Roselli: You don't pay to be considered, you don't submit.
- 30:19Dayna Roselli: Um, and it's just really people making fan-voted awards.
- 30:23Dayna Roselli: Fan voted awards of people making a difference in our area.
- 30:26Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 30:26Dayna Roselli: So love it.
- 30:28Sean McAllister: Uh, and to close out celebrity news with a Vegas twist, uh, Buddy Velastro is uh a restaurant owner and pastry chef that's known really across the country um for his reality show, Carlos Bakery, which started uh back in Hoboken, New Jersey.
- 30:45Sean McAllister: Uh now Carlos Bakery is here in Las Vegas as well, along with several other buddies of Buddy's restaurants.
- 30:53Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 30:53Sean McAllister: But they just got a little makeover.
- 30:55Dayna Roselli: They did.
- 30:56Dayna Roselli: We went over and got some video uh that we'll use in the show.
- 30:59Dayna Roselli: It's uh it's flashy.
- 31:01Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 31:01Dayna Roselli: You know, new sign, bright lights, clean, cool, really cool, clean look.
- 31:06Dayna Roselli: It looks great.
- 31:07Sean McAllister: Big Vegas sign on the back wall.
- 31:09Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's a nice bakery.
- 31:11Dayna Roselli: In the we when I was getting video, it's so hard to be there because I'm not even that much of a sweets person, but you cannot look it through that glass and not want everything that that's there.
- 31:19Sean McAllister: Same.
- 31:20Sean McAllister: I was really holding myself back.
- 31:23Sean McAllister: I was so close to walking in there and getting a lobster tail.
- 31:26Dayna Roselli: Yeah, you love those.
- 31:27Sean McAllister: Is that what they're called?
- 31:28Sean McAllister: Yeah, I think that's a good one.
- 31:29Sean McAllister: Lobster tail, lobster call.
- 31:30Sean McAllister: The pastry that has like a cream in it.
- 31:33Sean McAllister: Oh my gosh.
- 31:34Dayna Roselli: So good.
- 31:35Sean McAllister: Those are so delicious.
- 31:38Dayna Roselli: We've been taken a cake decorating class with Buddy before.
- 31:41Dayna Roselli: It was a lot of fun.
- 31:42Dayna Roselli: I'm sure you've heard us talk about that, but it's an art.
- 31:45Dayna Roselli: These pastries, the decorating, all of it.
- 31:47Sean McAllister: So one of my recent birthdays, uh, I got a a spread of uh, you know, Italian cookies and pastries from Carlos, and every single thing was like perfection.
- 32:01Sean McAllister: So perfection, especially like the cannoli cream, like real cannoli cream.
- 32:07Dayna Roselli: That's so good.
- 32:08Dayna Roselli: That's why I mean it's hard to find, too.
- 32:11Dayna Roselli: You have to even, I mean, we're from Rochester, New York, and it's like Savoya's Bakery is the one place where you can get the real true cannoli.
- 32:17Dayna Roselli: There might be other places, but I mean, I still call there for special occasions to have them deliver um to people in Rochester.
- 32:25Dayna Roselli: They're wonderful.
- 32:26Dayna Roselli: Yeah, you gotta find the right cannoli.
- 32:28Dayna Roselli: So, and he does it right.
- 32:30Dayna Roselli: And apparently the restaurant has a speakeasy now, too, that he just opened.
- 32:33Dayna Roselli: I think it was actually a thought or created by his wife.
- 32:37Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 32:37Dayna Roselli: We'll have to deep dive into that another time.
- 32:39Dayna Roselli: But if you go to Buddy V's restaurant, it's got a speakeasy now, too, you might want to check out.
- 32:42Sean McAllister: Which is right across the hall from Carlos Bakery over at the Venetian.
- 32:46Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 32:46Dayna Roselli: The Venetian is so nice when we were in there.
- 32:48Dayna Roselli: I was like, yeah, it has so much going on.
- 32:50Dayna Roselli: Um, so many great places here in Las Vegas.
- 32:53Dayna Roselli: Visitation is up May to May, so that's great.
- 32:55Dayna Roselli: May numbers just came out as we were about to record the podcast.
- 32:59Dayna Roselli: Looks like it's up like two percent compared to last May.
- 33:02Dayna Roselli: Uh, wonderful news.
- 33:03Dayna Roselli: I think hotel occupancy was up.
- 33:05Dayna Roselli: They're saying, you know, we've had a lot of events in uh May with the EDC and also BTS was in town for shows.
- 33:11Dayna Roselli: So that can contribute, but hey, we'll take an increase.
- 33:14Sean McAllister: And a lot of that, uh a lot of the the tourism was drive-in uh tourists, people who live in the surrounding area, Arizona, Southern California, Utah, uh, who drove into town uh for a little Vegas vakey.
- 33:29Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I mean, we got all those all-inclusive deals and different things going on.
- 33:32Sean McAllister: Which are still happening, by the way.
- 33:34Dayna Roselli: Yeah, still happening all summer.
- 33:36Dayna Roselli: And sometimes hopping on the road can save you some money.
- 33:39Dayna Roselli: I mean, gas prices were pretty high, but they've come down a little bit.
- 33:42Dayna Roselli: So hopefully we'll continue on that trend.
- 33:44Dayna Roselli: We'll see.
- 33:45Dayna Roselli: All right.
- 33:46Dayna Roselli: Well, we are gonna have a great 4th of July.
- 33:48Dayna Roselli: I'm heading back to New York.
- 33:49Dayna Roselli: I'm excited uh to go see mom and my friends there and celebrate 4th of July in the low 80s.
- 33:56Sean McAllister: Oh, that sounds delightful.
- 33:58Dayna Roselli: Yeah, doesn't it?
- 33:58Dayna Roselli: I already am feeling anxious that I'm not gonna want to leave because I love Las Vegas in the summer, but it is a nice break.
- 34:05Dayna Roselli: And I just, you know, it is nice to be around some little bit more green and just like a little bit of a slower pace because we're so busy.
- 34:12Dayna Roselli: You know, you drive by the corn stands, you know, you see.
- 34:15Sean McAllister: All the farmers markets.
- 34:16Sean McAllister: I know it is nice.
- 34:17Dayna Roselli: It is nice.
- 34:18Dayna Roselli: So I look forward to that, but uh, but I will be back and we'll be back.
