- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville Jaguar fans, welcome in to Duval Daily Prisoner by Gen. Jag.com.
- 0:04[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Jordan Louder.
- 0:04[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks so much for being here Thursday, March 5th.
- 0:07[SPEAKER_00]: Right now we're talking about the Jaguars and how aggressive they could potentially get during this 2026 off season.
- 0:14[SPEAKER_00]: I think
- 0:16[SPEAKER_00]: They should be very aggressive.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_00]: I've talked about that.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_00]: I think they should be very aggressive to push towards a Super Bowl title.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_00]: The Jacksonville Jaguars have never won a Super Bowl.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_00]: They've never been to a Super Bowl.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_00]: They have one of the best combinations of management, coaching, and some of your top level talent, specifically at the quarterback position.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_00]: Good receiving core.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_00]: Some good pieces around this football team to be a Super Bowl contender, to be a Super Bowl caliber team.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not gonna sit here and say right now that the Jag war is our better than any of the top teams in the NFC, and let's not pretend that the AFC couldn't be much better next year.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_00]: The AFC could be much better in 2020, six than it was in 2025.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_00]: If the Chiefs get their ducks in a row, that's not a team you wanna see in the playoffs.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_00]: If the Ravens get their ducks in a row, that can make them a very difficult out as well.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: You also have the bills who are not going away.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_00]: The Broncos still feel like an ascending team.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: The Patriots, they've got a lot of work to do to re- fortify what they did this past year.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_00]: AFC could be a lot better.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars need to be a lot better, and 2026, then they were in 2025.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously down the stretch, they were about as good as anyone.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_00]: couldn't beat the bills, they need to be bold, they need to be aggressive.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_00]: I believe James Gladstone will pull off something this off season, whether it be via trade, free agency, whatever it is, that surprises people, that surprises Jack's fans, and I think that they will push to get this thing over the line.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're gonna do their part, management wise, and I think they should.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_00]: They are never going to shy away from making an aggressive move to boldly push the jackwars in a better direction.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_00]: They're never going to do they're never going to shy away from that.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yesterday the Rams who of course the jack wars are like LA Rams southeast with James Lads on Liam Cohen and everybody and a bunch of the there's just so many connections.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_00]: The Rams just pulled off another blockbuster deal.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_00]: Traded away another first round pick.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_00]: Of course, fortunately for them, they have the Falcons first round pick from the trade for James.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_00]: That's looking bad for the Falcons, right?
- 2:55[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, so they'll still have a first round pick, but they just traded away 29, couple day three picks, a 2027, third round pick, four, Trent McDuffie.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_00]: I cannot wait to see Trimmy Duffy versus Jackson Smith and Jigba three times next year.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you're at that right.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_00]: I think it'll happen three times.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_00]: That'll be a good matchup.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_00]: I'll be very good matchup.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: So the Rams aggressively pursued another star player
- 3:32[SPEAKER_00]: And I do hope that you see a lot of McDuffie in the slot.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that's where he is a superstar.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_00]: Outside, he's a good player.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_00]: And the slot, he's a great player.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_00]: But can the Jaguar is once again, they shocked the world last year with Travis Hunter.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: Shocked the world.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: Can they do it again this year?
- 3:52[SPEAKER_00]: I think they can, I think they should.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_00]: Now, you can't just force a trade.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_00]: It takes two to tango.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_00]: It has to be the right move at the right price.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_00]: All these things have to align.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_00]: The stars have to align like the jags.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_00]: They were trying to get Quinn and Williams before the trade deadline.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_00]: They ended up getting Jacobi Myers, which was huge, but they were also trying to get Quinn and Williams.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: They were trying to push.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_00]: It didn't work out.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_00]: The cowboys were a little bit more aggressive with their offer.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_00]: Now this off season.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_00]: Again, I think that
- 4:27[SPEAKER_00]: a trade would be huge.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they should try to execute a trade that can upgrade this football team and give them a superstar at an important position.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_00]: I think they've got a superstar at quarterback, at least a star, somebody who has the ability to be a superstar.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_00]: I think at receiver,
- 4:53[SPEAKER_00]: You feel very good about Jacobi Myers.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: You feel very good about Parker Washington.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_00]: You like the potential that Brian Thomas Jr. has and kind of what he showed down the stretch a little bit last year.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think making a move for an offensive lineman would qualify as as kind of going all in or making a blockbuster move just because your two tackles are locked in.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_00]: So what are you talking about a sinner or a guard?
- 5:18[SPEAKER_00]: And so I don't see that being the case.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_00]: defensive line.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, absolutely.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, interior defensive line.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's where everybody kind of has circled.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_00]: Could be Ed Rush, too.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_00]: Because you could look at Trayvon Walker playing a lot more on the interior, which I don't think he should be an interior permanent player, but like if you're talking about on pass rushing downs, which guess what a lot of downs are pass rushing downs, playing him more on the interior, playing him more next to Josh
- 5:53[SPEAKER_00]: So, who's it gonna be, you know, Max Crosby?
- 6:01[SPEAKER_00]: Could they potentially make a swing for like a Dexter Lawrence?
- 6:07[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know who it's gonna be.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_00]: But I do think they should be aggressive to go pursue somebody who can raise the star level of their defensive line, of their past rush.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I would like to see personally.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: I'd also be good if, I mean, there was a corner back out there, like, you know, Trent McDuffy, I think he would have made sense for the Jaguars if they needed a nickel.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think they do.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously Travis Hunter playing outside, but if they wanted to have two lockdown corners, I think that could make sense.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know who would be available, but that could make sense.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think you do it for a linebacker.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you've got a linebacker.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: You could just sign if you wanted to bring back Devon Lloyd.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_00]: So to me, Stephens of Line, one way or the other.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguar should be very aggressive to pursue Stephens of Line this off season.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_00]: And again, it might not work out.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_00]: They tried it with Quinn and Williams.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_00]: It didn't work out.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_00]: But,
- 7:13[SPEAKER_00]: if it doesn't work out I still don't I don't think that if if if they can't land this big fish via a trade or via free agency or whatever it may be that doesn't mean they can't be aggressive in the draft that doesn't mean they can't upgrade that defensive front in the draft absolutely think they can we've outlined that like if you're able to land like a Derek Moore and a Grayson
- 7:42[SPEAKER_00]: whatever it may be.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_00]: I think that that could dramatically change the outlook for your defense of front.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_00]: But relying on the draft is always a little bit more risky than relying on, you know, proven superstar talent that it's in the prime.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, like Max
- 8:09[SPEAKER_00]: They have a fourth round pick, two fifth round picks, bunch of seven, they're on picks.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_00]: To me, I would have no problem if the jackwars decide that they want to pursue trading their first round pick in 2027.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_00]: Plus picks this year for a super start talent.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_00]: FM picks, let me know what you think in the comment section below.
