- 1:38Speaker 2: I'm Jay.
- 1:39Speaker 3: I am Misty.
- 1:40Speaker 1: I'm Marlena.
- 1:41Speaker 3: Alright. You didn't use your sultry voice.
- 1:44Speaker 2: Oh, sorry. Yeah, Greg. Alright, so we're back for another
- 1:51Speaker 2: fun-filled movie geek festival here.
- 1:54Speaker 3: Woo!
- 1:55Speaker 2: So, to kick into this week's Geek Activities, my main
- 2:00Speaker 2: one actually ties to three of us here, so I
- 2:02Speaker 2: guess we'll do a tag team on this one. Marlena,
- 2:06Speaker 2: you came up with this plan. Do you want to
- 2:08Speaker 2: discuss what this thing was?
- 2:09Speaker 1: Well, it got kind of messed up, not through any
- 2:13Speaker 1: fault of mine, but through the theater's fault. But Pee-wee's
- 2:17Speaker 1: Big Adventure was supposedly playing Midnight at Baxter Avenue Theater's.
- 2:22Speaker 1: And I buy the tickets, and then they say it's
- 2:24Speaker 1: playing at 10. The girl behind the counter says it's
- 2:25Speaker 1: playing at 10. And then we get there at 10,
- 2:28Speaker 1: and they're like, Ernest goes to camp, it's playing first.
- 2:32Speaker 4: Yay!
- 2:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Technically, it's Ernest goes to jail.
- 2:35Speaker 3: Ernest goes to jail. Oh. Jail.
- 2:37Speaker 2: The greatest of the Ernest series.
- 2:40Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Not that I don't love Jim Varney and all, but.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Had I, yeah, I went into it expecting it to
- 2:45Speaker 2: be the second one, and I wasn't so sure I
- 2:47Speaker 2: was sticking around, so.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Right.
- 2:49Speaker 2: It at least gave me the excuse, because then, that's
- 2:51Speaker 2: the thing, it was like, Had it been camp, I
- 2:53Speaker 2: kind of remember little pieces of that one.
- 2:56Speaker 3: It's the first movie I ever saw at the Dollar Tree.
- 2:58Speaker 3: The first movie I ever saw in the theater remembering
- 3:00Speaker 3: seeing it. I was covered in mud, too. Me and
- 3:04Speaker 3: Aaron were both covered in mud. We got in trouble.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Your people?
- 3:09Speaker 3: No, my grandma. That was our punishment. We had to
- 3:12Speaker 3: go see it. No, we were going to go see
- 3:14Speaker 3: it anyways, but we got in trouble because we were
- 3:15Speaker 3: covered in mud. We were buried in the dark, so
- 3:17Speaker 3: we didn't get in too much trouble.
- 3:19Speaker 2: I remembered it was one that you were partial to. But, yeah,
- 3:24Speaker 2: I knew I had not seen Jail at all.
- 3:26Speaker 3: I don't think I have either.
- 3:28Speaker 2: I have.
- 3:30Speaker 8: You know, I expected horrible, especially the title sequence is bad.
- 3:37Speaker 2: It's fun. It's poking fun at a whole other series
- 3:42Speaker 2: of movies. Well, sure, sure, but it's bad even in that.
- 3:45Speaker 2: It's bad, yeah. It's an earnest movie, we expect, going
- 3:50Speaker 2: into it.
- 3:50Speaker 8: You know, what works in those movies is not the slapstick,
- 3:55Speaker 8: fly-around-with-the-floor-buffer stuff that was intended to.
- 3:59Speaker 2: Which there was a lot of. A lot of it, yeah.
- 4:01Speaker 8: But the subtle, quick one-hitters that he delivers impeccably. It
- 4:10Speaker 8: just makes the movie worth watching.
- 4:14Speaker 2: It's one I've always said about him, but I.
- 4:17Speaker 2: It kind of, again, because I sat there and had
- 4:20Speaker 2: to watch him the whole time. So then I was
- 4:22Speaker 2: just like, okay, well, let's see what he's bringing to the...
- 4:25Speaker 2: And that's the thing. He's so talented, really. It's a
- 4:28Speaker 2: shame he has to play Ernest his entire career because
- 4:30Speaker 2: he really... Maybe that's all he is. I mean, you've
- 4:33Speaker 2: got to think about it. He wanted to be so
- 4:35Speaker 2: much more.
- 4:35Speaker 3: He wanted to be more of a.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Hey, he gets to play Jet Clamp.
- 4:38Speaker 2: But he was, again, I think last, you know, couple
- 4:42Speaker 2: years ago when we started talking about him, I looked
- 4:43Speaker 2: it up, and he was a trained Shakespearean actor. That
- 4:49Speaker 2: was his passion, was he wanted to focus on Shakespeare.
- 4:53Speaker 2: And he started off doing that on stage, and then
- 4:56Speaker 2: got this stupid commercial, and... That's where it took him,
- 4:59Speaker 2: and I guess you go with where the money is. Right.
- 5:01Speaker 2: Sometimes you get painted into a corner. Yeah, he definitely did. But,
- 5:05Speaker 2: I mean, there's moments in it where you're like, he's
- 5:07Speaker 2: not only delivering pretty quick-witted stuff, that I'm sure a
- 5:11Speaker 2: lot of that was probably improvised, but on top of that,
- 5:14Speaker 2: he also has this performance that he brings to all
- 5:17Speaker 2: these characters. Again, I get tired of people playing multiple characters,
- 5:21Speaker 2: but it's funny watching. He plays two main characters in
- 5:24Speaker 2: this movie, and he has a specific... facial expression for
- 5:29Speaker 2: each one he does like a very specific thing with
- 5:33Speaker 2: both of them and and he never is out of
- 5:35Speaker 2: when he's in that character he has that one of
- 5:38Speaker 2: them has like an eye motion one of them you
- 5:40Speaker 2: know earnest has his normal goofy grin but i mean
- 5:43Speaker 2: it's a very different way than he like manipulates his
- 5:46Speaker 2: face as he goes from one character to the other
- 5:48Speaker 2: and it's like it's it's a lot more credit than
- 5:50Speaker 2: you would give to you know what you would expect
- 5:53Speaker 2: in an earnest man And then he does those characters
- 5:56Speaker 2: playing the other person.
- 5:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Which is even, you know, another stuff.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Very layered performance.
- 6:01Speaker 2: It is.
- 6:02Speaker 8: And then on top of that, he's in trying to
- 6:06Speaker 8: become Ernest, the character, is in jail, trying to become
- 6:10Speaker 8: the gangster. And so he's looking in the mirror at
- 6:12Speaker 8: one point and he does probably 15 different gangster tough
- 6:16Speaker 8: guy characters for movies.
- 6:18Speaker 2: And you can hit.
- 6:19Speaker 8: He hits every single one and you know exactly what
- 6:21Speaker 8: he's doing.
- 6:22Speaker 3: And.
- 6:23Speaker 2: I laughed a lot at that moment. Again, he shows
- 6:27Speaker 2: you he's a skilled performer, and he ends up in
- 6:30Speaker 2: these horrible moments. Because that's the thing. As it goes on,
- 6:32Speaker 2: there's times when it's just so bad. And I'm just...
- 6:36Speaker 2: Jim Varney already died, didn't he?
- 6:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:38Speaker 2: So I couldn't remember him. I was thinking he did,
- 6:40Speaker 2: but I... Which, that's the thing. I would almost hope
- 6:43Speaker 2: that somebody would have found him and, you know, Tarantino'd
- 6:45Speaker 2: him and had him come back where he actually did
- 6:47Speaker 2: some serious acting. He could have been hobbled with a shotgun. Yeah,
- 6:49Speaker 2: that would have been awesome. That would have been awesome. Yeah,
- 6:54Speaker 2: he's another one. His whole career has kind of been
- 6:57Speaker 2: like that.
- 6:57Speaker 3: We watched one of his movies, so.
- 6:59Speaker 2: We'll look at it later.
- 7:02Speaker 3: I know.
- 7:02Speaker 2: I'm keeping you listening. Which one did they watch? There's
- 7:12Speaker 2: so many moments, and it is funny. I didn't understand
- 7:15Speaker 2: why they played it as a two-parter with TV's Big Adventure. Marlena,
- 7:20Speaker 2: you missed out because you were all excited when he
- 7:21Speaker 2: got to the breakfast machine in Pee Wee. Yeah. The
- 7:24Speaker 2: same thing is going on throughout. I mean, I don't know.
- 7:27Speaker 2: I don't remember the other movies or other Ernest movies, like,
- 7:31Speaker 2: filled with contraptions and machinery and stuff in his house.
- 7:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Is it, like, who's the guy? Is it Rube Goldberg?
- 7:41Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. A series of.
- 7:44Speaker 1: complicated mechanism to perform a simple task yeah.
- 7:47Speaker 2: And he's got that just to turn on the television
- 7:49Speaker 2: to turn on the tv yeah yeah yeah that's amazing
- 7:52Speaker 2: it's it's yeah actually.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Like i some of the movies that have that like
- 7:57Speaker 1: are my favorite delicatessen has that yeah and it's just
- 8:02Speaker 1: like i get super excited.
- 8:03Speaker 2: About yeah i mean it's got that whole point well
- 8:06Speaker 2: i mean he walks into the yard and it looks
- 8:08Speaker 2: and again we decided it was like the poor man's
- 8:10Speaker 2: version of peewee's house i mean it It's the ghetto
- 8:13Speaker 2: version of Pee-wee's house.
- 8:14Speaker 8: It's got a large, you know, lit up ice cream cone.
- 8:20Speaker 8: And he's even got a little dog like Pee-wee.
- 8:22Speaker 2: Yeah, there were all these parallels that I was like, okay,
- 8:25Speaker 2: now I kind of see why they did the double
- 8:27Speaker 2: feature here. But it does, I mean, it pales in comparison.
- 8:30Speaker 2: You can't put anything up against that in Pee-wee.
- 8:34Speaker 1: That's just gold right there.
- 8:35Speaker 2: Yeah. But it is funny how much of that stuff,
- 8:39Speaker 2: I mean, you really could see... almost trying it, but
- 8:43Speaker 2: I don't know, I mean, maybe it started off that way,
- 8:45Speaker 2: but to me it felt like, you know, since this
- 8:47Speaker 2: one came afterwards, there was very much of tapping into that,
- 8:51Speaker 2: you know, that kids, you know, they started gearing him
- 8:54Speaker 2: more and more towards kids as he got dumber and
- 8:56Speaker 2: dumber as the movies went on, so I think there
- 8:58Speaker 2: was almost a conscious, hey, let's kind of, you know,
- 9:01Speaker 2: Pee-Wee's popular, let's kind of go the direction of Pee-Wee,
- 9:03Speaker 2: and He just didn't get busted.
- 9:07Speaker 3: Right.
- 9:07Speaker 2: We decided, yeah, Greg, go ahead with your theory.
- 9:09Speaker 8: Yeah, I decided during the intermission that Ernest should have
- 9:13Speaker 8: gotten caught in a porn theater, and his career probably
- 9:16Speaker 8: would have taken off even more. You know, been a
- 9:19Speaker 8: little bit more.
- 9:20Speaker 2: He could have changed direction. Yeah. It might have actually
- 9:22Speaker 2: helped him.
- 9:23Speaker 1: He could have fulfilled his dream of being a Shakespearean actor.
- 9:26Speaker 2: That's right.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Possibly.
- 9:27Speaker 3: But then what if he'd been taken seriously in that?
- 9:29Speaker 3: Had he been caught doing something like that? No.
- 9:31Speaker 2: No. I mean, he probably would have a better shot.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Even yesterday, my friend's mom was like, I can't believe
- 9:37Speaker 1: you're going to go watch that pervert. She's like, a
- 9:41Speaker 1: pervert for doing something that every man and woman does?
- 9:45Speaker 2: Yeah, what a pervert.
- 9:47Speaker 8: If it was a kiddie movie that he had gotten
- 9:48Speaker 8: caught playing with himself in, that's one thing, but it
- 9:51Speaker 8: was porn.
- 9:51Speaker 1: And that's like a common misconception. People think that. I
- 9:54Speaker 1: think that's half of what killed his career because people
- 9:56Speaker 1: don't realize, like, no, it was like an adult film
- 9:59Speaker 1: with adults. but like.
- 10:01Speaker 2: In a theater where this goes on. He wasn't just
- 10:03Speaker 2: at the multiplex touching himself. I mean, he was in
- 10:06Speaker 2: a theater that was built for that purpose, whether they
- 10:08Speaker 2: admit to it now.
- 10:09Speaker 3: It wasn't like the Dollar Tree store. Right. You know,
- 10:12Speaker 3: the dog movie, watching Ernest Goes to Camp or anything.
- 10:15Speaker 3: That would be awesome.
- 10:17Speaker 8: That movie theater is actually down the street from my
- 10:19Speaker 8: wife's grandma's house in Sarasota, Florida. I drove past, it
- 10:25Speaker 8: was many years afterwards, but I've driven past where that
- 10:27Speaker 8: was in.
- 10:27Speaker 2: The Did you go in?
- 10:30Speaker 8: I don't think it's a porn theater anymore.
- 10:33Speaker 2: But go in and take pictures of yourself. Here I
- 10:36Speaker 2: am in the sea. I might touch myself.
- 10:39Speaker 3: Here's where the floor's sticky.
- 10:42Speaker 2: It's been years and the floor's still sticky.
- 10:45Speaker 3: That's every porn place you're going to go to.
- 10:47Speaker 2: I've never been to one.
- 10:48Speaker 3: That's what I hear. Every movie theater.
- 10:50Speaker 2: Porn just makes it worse. So, yeah, that was, I
- 10:58Speaker 2: don't know, any more on Ernest? No, nothing more on Ernest. Greg, it's... Marlena,
- 11:02Speaker 2: you don't get to play this part.
- 11:04Speaker 8: Right.
- 11:05Speaker 2: Do you want to tell that story?
- 11:06Speaker 1: I'll let Greg finish his story.
- 11:08Speaker 2: I don't have any more to the story. You can
- 11:10Speaker 2: certainly tell what you were doing.
- 11:12Speaker 1: Well, I mean, none of my friends wanted to stick
- 11:14Speaker 1: around in a movie theater for four solid hours.
- 11:16Speaker 2: They were there. Yeah, we were there, but she ditched us.
- 11:19Speaker 3: Anyway.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Well, the other two friends that I came there with.
- 11:22Speaker 8: There you go.
- 11:23Speaker 1: I mean, if you hadn't come, I wouldn't have left,
- 11:26Speaker 1: just because I wouldn't have left Brian there.
- 11:29Speaker 2: So you say now. I would have been solo peewee.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Would you be a loner, Dougie?
- 11:37Speaker 8: He wouldn't have been that. creepiest person in the theater.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Wow, that's a compliment for me.
- 11:45Speaker 3: I think I had to pause to make sure you
- 11:47Speaker 3: got it right.
- 11:50Speaker 2: You had to think about it. Maybe. Probably not. It's
- 11:54Speaker 2: a close call.
- 11:55Speaker 1: Across the street, my co-worker's band was playing. I love them.
- 12:01Speaker 1: I really do. They were not well received. Number one,
- 12:05Speaker 1: they're like a 70s cover band. They cover like Alice
- 12:09Speaker 1: Cooper songs and Led Zeppelin songs.
- 12:11Speaker 2: Actually, in most bars I would see that going over
- 12:13Speaker 2: a lot.
- 12:13Speaker 1: Well, yeah, this is at Highland Taproom, though. Most dog bars, yes,
- 12:16Speaker 1: but Highland Taproom people are just kind of like.
- 12:18Speaker 2: A little too trendy for the 70s rock.
- 12:21Speaker 3: Yeah, I think so.
- 12:22Speaker 1: But we just sat out on the porch and pretended
- 12:26Speaker 1: that we were paying attention to the music. We were
- 12:28Speaker 1: really just laughing at the guy in the band's awesome
- 12:31Speaker 1: print dice shirt. It was like black and it was
- 12:34Speaker 1: like baggy and he had it tucked into his like
- 12:36Speaker 1: dad jeans. And then the dice print on it was
- 12:39Speaker 1: like huge neon dice.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Classy.
- 12:42Speaker 1: We're like, check out that awesome shirt.
- 12:45Speaker 2: There's dad jeans now. Just like mom jeans. If you've
- 12:48Speaker 2: got mom jeans, I guess you have to have dad jeans.
- 12:50Speaker 3: Your dad wears them all the time. You've seen your
- 12:52Speaker 3: dad's jeans.
- 12:53Speaker 1: You know, like the baggy kind of Levi's, the white
- 12:57Speaker 1: tennis shoes and the belt, and they're kind of like puffy.
- 12:59Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right. He does, doesn't he? Do they have elastic, too,
- 13:03Speaker 2: in addition to a belt? A built-in belt? I forget
- 13:07Speaker 2: about that. My dad has a belt. Dad jeans. I
- 13:11Speaker 2: never did think about that. Okay, just a minor side note.
- 13:15Speaker 2: Have you seen the pajama jeans commercial?
- 13:17Speaker 3: Yes. No.
- 13:18Speaker 2: They look awful. Oh, my God. Is this where we've
- 13:20Speaker 2: come to as a society? I mean, it's another one
- 13:24Speaker 2: of those infomercials. I'm like, oh, this is the end
- 13:25Speaker 2: of the world.
- 13:26Speaker 1: Like the blueberry bush?
- 13:28Speaker 2: I give up. What's the blueberry bush?
- 13:31Speaker 1: The blueberry bush, it was like.
- 13:33Speaker 9: Tired of paying $ 10 for blueberries at the grocery store?
- 13:37Speaker 3: Try the blueberry bush.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Yeah, just don't buy blueberries.
- 13:40Speaker 1: You get fresh blueberries every day. They make it sound
- 13:43Speaker 1: like this one blueberry bush that you're going to hang
- 13:46Speaker 1: from a pot in your kitchen is going to produce
- 13:48Speaker 1: a farm's worth of blueberries.
- 13:50Speaker 8: I only eat blueberries that come in boxes of muffin mix.
- 13:53Speaker 3: Little freeze-dried pellets.
- 13:57Speaker 2: They're blue dye and sugar. Oh, no, no. But yeah,
- 14:03Speaker 2: sometimes they have to try so hard. It's like, tired
- 14:05Speaker 2: of wearing jeans? They're trying so hard on that one. Hey,
- 14:12Speaker 2: fat ass. Isn't it hard to cram yourself into jamming?
- 14:15Speaker 2: They might as well. Don't jeans suck when you go
- 14:18Speaker 2: to the buffet? Well, they do the worst case scenario
- 14:23Speaker 2: of the girl pulls her jeans back and there's like a...
- 14:25Speaker 2: She's like... And there's like... the rivet imprints on her.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Throw her hands up in desperation.
- 14:33Speaker 2: Oh god, I'm dying.
- 14:35Speaker 1: I love how dire every situation in infomercials is. It's like,
- 14:40Speaker 1: and they yell at you just to get the point across.
- 14:42Speaker 1: That's why Billy Mays was so perfect.
- 14:44Speaker 3: I love Billy Mays. But I hate the Shamwell guy.
- 14:47Speaker 1: I love Shamwell guy.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Are you serious? He's a woman beater.
- 14:50Speaker 1: I know, but she had it coming.
- 14:54Speaker 2: Okay, you said that. I am not claiming that at all.
- 14:58Speaker 2: His face creeps me out.
- 14:59Speaker 1: I don't like it. His face does creep me out,
- 15:00Speaker 1: but he's so, like, high. He is, like, he does
- 15:03Speaker 1: a lot of coke, I think.
- 15:04Speaker 3: He's very entertaining.
- 15:06Speaker 2: So you're attracted to guys who do a lot of coke.
- 15:08Speaker 1: Right.
- 15:08Speaker 3: I'm not attracted to it.
- 15:10Speaker 2: I haven't come into it.
- 15:12Speaker 3: She was a hooker.
- 15:14Speaker 2: And that's why she gets beaten.
- 15:16Speaker 1: No, I can't remember the reason. There was a legit reason.
- 15:21Speaker 2: As long as they're a hooker.
- 15:22Speaker 3: And remember, this is Marlena's day.
- 15:24Speaker 8: A coke addict infomercial guy that's picking up hookers and
- 15:29Speaker 8: beats her, she had it coming.
- 15:31Speaker 3: I mean, she didn't use the Sam Weber idea. Right.
- 15:36Speaker 2: For clean-up afterwards?
- 15:38Speaker 1: I don't know. But let me clarify. I'm not attracted
- 15:41Speaker 1: to Vince. He is creepy.
- 15:42Speaker 3: You know his name? His face is creepy.
- 15:43Speaker 1: But he's entertaining.
- 15:46Speaker 3: I'm watching a little bit, too.
- 15:50Speaker 2: Let me get you a ShamWow to wipe the sweat off.
- 15:56Speaker 1: No, thank you. But, yeah.
- 15:58Speaker 2: Oh, Lord.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Anyway.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Sidetracked. Okay, so we wrapped up Ernest, I'm assuming.
- 16:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:05Speaker 2: Pee Wee's Big Adventure. Do you want to... I mean,
- 16:09Speaker 2: there's not much to say. I'm sitting there last night
- 16:11Speaker 2: watching it for the umpteenth time, and I'm just like,
- 16:14Speaker 2: this may very well be one of those... I mean,
- 16:16Speaker 2: it's a very short list for me, but just perfect movies. Like,
- 16:20Speaker 2: I don't know what you could do with this movie.
- 16:23Speaker 8: It slows down when... And there's good lines in it,
- 16:30Speaker 8: but when he goes into the dinosaur mouth and is
- 16:33Speaker 8: sitting with.
- 16:34Speaker 2: What's her name?
- 16:35Speaker 8: The one that goes to France. That whole section kind
- 16:39Speaker 8: of gets a little... Okay, it's getting a little slow.
- 16:41Speaker 8: It's dragging a little bit.
- 16:43Speaker 2: That's why you have a giant man with a bone
- 16:46Speaker 2: chasing you around.
- 16:48Speaker 3: Right.
- 16:49Speaker 8: But yeah, there's still parts of it that... I mean, literally,
- 16:53Speaker 8: I was laughing. I'm trying not to. I'm like, okay,
- 16:57Speaker 8: I'm not going to sit here and laugh. And you still,
- 17:00Speaker 8: you laugh... You can't help it.
- 17:02Speaker 2: Again, I probably got more genuine laughs out of that
- 17:05Speaker 2: last night than most comedies I watch now in the
- 17:09Speaker 2: last five years.
- 17:11Speaker 8: And his delivery, like, when he's walking up, he's going
- 17:15Speaker 8: to Francis' house, and he's walking up the driveway, and
- 17:19Speaker 8: he stops and kind of composes himself and gives that
- 17:22Speaker 8: little shudder, that peewee shudder, and then walks on. It just,
- 17:27Speaker 8: I mean, the entire crowd laughed, and all he did
- 17:29Speaker 8: was just make a little tick And that's just classic stuff.
- 17:35Speaker 8: You know, I don't know how you can even write
- 17:37Speaker 8: that or plan to do something like that in a scene,
- 17:40Speaker 8: but it works somehow.
- 17:41Speaker 2: Well, and it shows the difference because they were in
- 17:43Speaker 2: the lobby playing the big top peewee on the little
- 17:47Speaker 2: screen while we went in there. And that's the thing.
- 17:49Speaker 2: It's like I said, it's been so long since I've
- 17:51Speaker 2: seen that one, but I remember even the first time
- 17:53Speaker 2: I saw it going, this isn't the same. And it
- 17:56Speaker 2: goes to show that major difference, which, number one, he
- 17:58Speaker 2: also was taking it in a different direction because he
- 18:01Speaker 2: became popular with kids then. But the first one is
- 18:04Speaker 2: so much a Tim Burton movie. Like, there are so
- 18:06Speaker 2: many times when you're just, wow, this is just out
- 18:09Speaker 2: and out Tim Burton right here. Tim Burton. Yeah. And
- 18:11Speaker 2: that's the thing. I was like, it kind of, because
- 18:14Speaker 2: before they were playing random old trailers and they played
- 18:17Speaker 2: the Willy Wonka Tim Burton trailer. That was just like
- 18:21Speaker 2: polar opposites. I mean, look at how good he is.
- 18:24Speaker 2: in his first movie, his first full length movie versus
- 18:27Speaker 2: the crap that he's been cranking out lately. And it's just, it,
- 18:30Speaker 2: it's sort of pains me to watch, you know, he's
- 18:33Speaker 2: so talented back in the old movies and, and had
- 18:35Speaker 2: such visual style, but could also balance it with, you know,
- 18:38Speaker 2: a well put together movie and, and not horrible CGI
- 18:42Speaker 2: that they didn't have yet. So I don't know. It's
- 18:45Speaker 2: just it, but I mean, so much of that is
- 18:47Speaker 2: so well done from even a technical standpoint. Like there's
- 18:49Speaker 2: one or two times where like the laugh comes from
- 18:52Speaker 2: the editing. Like they actually like, the way that he
- 18:55Speaker 2: composed the shot or the way that they took it
- 18:57Speaker 2: and edited it after is the joke. I mean, again,
- 19:00Speaker 2: that kind of stuff is things that get, you know,
- 19:03Speaker 2: missed in movies that just, you know, get cranked out
- 19:05Speaker 2: by a studio and nobody puts any time or care
- 19:08Speaker 2: into them. And it's funny, I mean, this was a
- 19:11Speaker 2: pretty low-budget movie with a first-time director, but they still, like,
- 19:14Speaker 2: spent so much time on all these little technical things
- 19:17Speaker 2: that still just make it hold up all these years later.
- 19:21Speaker 2: It's still, like, impressive to watch, even as just a film,
- 19:25Speaker 2: if you want to call Pee-Wee's Big Adventure that. But
- 19:28Speaker 2: I would because it's awesome.
- 19:30Speaker 8: I think one thing that you could overlook easily, especially
- 19:33Speaker 8: comparing the two, is Phil Hartman.
- 19:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:36Speaker 2: Because he was the co-writer on this. Yeah, which I
- 19:39Speaker 2: forget that until the credits come up every time. I'm like,
- 19:41Speaker 2: no wonder this is so damn good. anything he ever
- 19:44Speaker 2: did was fantastic he was amazing and has his little
- 19:47Speaker 2: cameo yeah.
- 19:49Speaker 1: I noticed that I forgot about that I.
- 19:51Speaker 2: Forgot what his cameo was he's at the very end
- 19:53Speaker 2: he's a reporter right that's yeah interviewing Francis.
- 19:58Speaker 3: Yeah we didn't go me and Jay did not I
- 20:01Speaker 3: was gimping and didn't feel like going anywhere Corey's all
- 20:04Speaker 3: bruised and he's almost bruised and I didn't like that
- 20:07Speaker 3: so But, yeah, I remember watching this movie so many
- 20:09Speaker 3: times when I was a kid. How excited me and
- 20:12Speaker 3: Aaron were when we found out my grandma had the
- 20:14Speaker 3: peewee dance song. That's what it was, the peewee dance song.
- 20:17Speaker 2: I think an entire generation knew it as that. It
- 20:20Speaker 2: was only later I found out it has.
- 20:21Speaker 7: A real name.
- 20:22Speaker 3: I don't know how many times me and Aaron listened
- 20:24Speaker 3: to Tequila over and over and over, trying to do
- 20:28Speaker 3: the dance. Yeah, it was hours and hours and weeks
- 20:31Speaker 3: and months of entertainment right there.
- 20:33Speaker 2: Were you guys wearing snowflake shoes?
- 20:35Speaker 3: Probably. Good.
- 20:39Speaker 8: And as popular as that part was, because that even
- 20:44Speaker 8: had its own song and video.
- 20:45Speaker 2: Didn't it? Yeah, I kind of think they cut that
- 20:48Speaker 2: part out and made it a video, yeah. It still
- 20:51Speaker 2: is very entertaining. We all see it coming now, but
- 20:55Speaker 2: I was thinking last night as it started, I was like,
- 20:58Speaker 2: this is really a weird movie. Like, then that's the
- 21:01Speaker 2: beauty of it. Like, it's almost surreal at times. Like,
- 21:03Speaker 2: you're about to get your ass kicked in a biker bar.
- 21:05Speaker 2: You're going to die. Your final request is to put
- 21:09Speaker 2: on giant shoes and dance around to tequila. I was like,
- 21:13Speaker 2: who would write that? Like, who other than Phil Hartman
- 21:16Speaker 2: would write that? Like, that's, I mean, it's genius in
- 21:20Speaker 2: how weird it is.
- 21:23Speaker 3: Yeah. Right. Oh.
- 21:24Speaker 8: Actually, one thing that I always remember, and it's a
- 21:27Speaker 8: little scene, but Jan Hooks doing the tour guide is fabulous.
- 21:32Speaker 2: Again, another, like, performance just total character like she's nothing
- 21:37Speaker 2: like that in anything else you see her in she
- 21:39Speaker 2: created that character and it's like priceless.
- 21:42Speaker 8: And the gum chewing I always forget that she takes
- 21:45Speaker 8: the gum out of her mouth at the end but
- 21:47Speaker 8: by that time you're like stop it with the gum
- 21:49Speaker 8: stop it stop it and then she takes it out
- 21:51Speaker 8: and then just I don't know it's very.
- 21:54Speaker 1: Funny I think my favorite parts are the Alamo references
- 21:58Speaker 1: I don't know why like when he wakes up and
- 22:01Speaker 1: they're like what do you remember he's like I remember
- 22:03Speaker 1: I remember the album.
- 22:05Speaker 2: Yay!
- 22:06Speaker 3: I don't know why.
- 22:07Speaker 2: It does make Texas look awesome.
- 22:08Speaker 1: I think it's just because I have such a soft
- 22:10Speaker 1: spot in my heart for Texas.
- 22:11Speaker 2: I know. But I just want to.
- 22:13Speaker 3: Oh, sorry.
- 22:14Speaker 2: I just want to go there and sing the intro
- 22:16Speaker 2: part of the song and see if everybody, like, I just,
- 22:18Speaker 2: I hope that it's really like that when I get there.
- 22:20Speaker 3: When we went to Texas, how many times was that done?
- 22:24Speaker 1: We, we did it a lot. No one else really responded.
- 22:27Speaker 2: You're ruining it for me, damn it.
- 22:29Speaker 3: Cause yeah, when, uh, yeah, me and Jessica and Marlena,
- 22:32Speaker 3: I don't know, I'll put it in a different order.
- 22:33Speaker 3: I shuffled it up there. Me and Marlena and Jessica
- 22:34Speaker 3: went to Texas. I don't know how many times that
- 22:37Speaker 3: reference was made. We didn't even go to the Alamo. No.
- 22:40Speaker 3: We should have.
- 22:41Speaker 2: I know.
- 22:41Speaker 3: Road trip.
- 22:42Speaker 2: Hell yeah. I, I, I've always wanted to go.
- 22:45Speaker 8: My wife, she went to San Antonio this last fall,
- 22:49Speaker 8: and she toured the Alamo. And I told her, I said,
- 22:52Speaker 8: please ask the tour guide if you can see the
- 22:55Speaker 8: basement with a straight face.
- 22:56Speaker 2: How many times a day do you think they get that?
- 22:58Speaker 2: It doesn't matter. They probably hate that reference.
- 23:03Speaker 1: They'll probably say it in the speech, there is no
- 23:05Speaker 1: basement in the Alamo.
- 23:07Speaker 2: It's probably, okay, first and foremost, that's how they start
- 23:11Speaker 2: the tour.
- 23:12Speaker 8: And if they talked about Adobe, I would probably shit
- 23:15Speaker 8: my pants.
- 23:17Speaker 2: Adobe. She seems very pleased with it. Right. So, okay,
- 23:24Speaker 2: the other thing I need to address, and I think
- 23:27Speaker 2: I've always thought this, and I remember last time I
- 23:29Speaker 2: watched it, kind of thinking it again, but last night
- 23:32Speaker 2: just reinforced it. What the hell is Pee-wee thinking? Dottie's hot!
- 23:36Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 23:37Speaker 2: Absolutely. Other than she sounds like a cartoon character. Well,
- 23:39Speaker 2: because she is a cartoon character.
- 23:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:42Speaker 2: But, uh, yep. Dottie is... Pee-wee's a loner. He's a razor.
- 23:47Speaker 2: He comes to his senses. But, I mean, still, he's
- 23:49Speaker 2: fighting it, and I'm just like... I know he's sort
- 23:52Speaker 2: of a little kid, so ooh, girls are gross.
- 23:54Speaker 1: And I mean, you know, like, I love Pee-wee, but
- 23:56Speaker 1: he's kind of gay. Kind of gay. I mean, I
- 23:58Speaker 1: know he's not, but like.
- 24:00Speaker 2: But not even as a character. He's just childlike. And like,
- 24:05Speaker 2: prepubescent doesn't even get sex, which is why I guess
- 24:08Speaker 2: they make him think girls are icky. But yeah, I mean,
- 24:11Speaker 2: because I was watching that. I was like, he comes
- 24:12Speaker 2: off peculiar, but not really... I think that's the same thing.
- 24:16Speaker 2: It's not that he comes off gay at all. It's
- 24:18Speaker 2: just that he is... He's just a child. He's just
- 24:20Speaker 2: a child.
- 24:21Speaker 6: There's a lot of kids that I guess you can
- 24:24Speaker 6: kind of mix that signal up with. But, you know,
- 24:29Speaker 6: I mean, there's Izzy's cousin, Jared. If you looked at him,
- 24:38Speaker 6: he almost acts like Pee Wee Herman.
- 24:40Speaker 3: He doesn't sound like him, too.
- 24:41Speaker 6: He kind of looks like him, too. But it's because he's...
- 24:45Speaker 6: He doesn't understand. He's still young. He's still, uh, ew,
- 24:47Speaker 6: girls are icky. Don't kiss me.
- 24:49Speaker 4: Ew.
- 24:50Speaker 3: You know.
- 24:51Speaker 2: He's kind of whiny. But, you know, I think that's
- 24:54Speaker 2: kind of the same thing. He comes off almost childlike.
- 24:57Speaker 2: It doesn't really... Yeah. He just doesn't get it yet.
- 25:00Speaker 3: Right.
- 25:01Speaker 2: We'll all come around and find Elizabeth Daly. I had
- 25:04Speaker 2: to check, because I remembered looking at her last time
- 25:07Speaker 2: and finding out she did all those cartoon voices. She
- 25:09Speaker 2: was in Valley Girl. She's in Valley Girl. She was in, like,
- 25:12Speaker 2: a bunch of 80 movies, and then she switched over. Oh,
- 25:14Speaker 2: she was in Tommy? Yeah, she switched over to doing
- 25:17Speaker 2: voice work, and she's Tommy Pickles. She's Buttercup.
- 25:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I know she's Buttercup.
- 25:21Speaker 2: She's Pickles. Oh, really?
- 25:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:23Speaker 2: Buttercup. Powerpuff Girls.
- 25:26Speaker 3: Really? Yeah.
- 25:27Speaker 2: She's, like, several times when they kept trying to, like,
- 25:30Speaker 2: reinvent the Flintstones, they kept making her Bam Bam. Like,
- 25:34Speaker 2: there were all these weird, yeah, things that they, but
- 25:36Speaker 2: she's in, like, a hundred different, you can go look
- 25:39Speaker 2: her up, she's in every one. She's made a career
- 25:41Speaker 2: at voice work. Yeah. But she's got a good voice
- 25:44Speaker 2: for it. Well, that's the other thing, this, and that's
- 25:46Speaker 2: the thing, I knew she'd done the cartoon stuff, this
- 25:48Speaker 2: is the one I had, like, again, sad as I
- 25:51Speaker 2: did it last night, it was like three in the morning,
- 25:53Speaker 2: I was going, holy shit, she's E.G.
- 25:55Speaker 3: Daly?
- 25:56Speaker 2: That was my new discovery, way just, and I had
- 25:58Speaker 2: to get a hold of Katie, because we, on the
- 26:01Speaker 2: summer school episode, we were just talking about how much
- 26:03Speaker 2: we liked the E.G. Daly song.
- 26:05Speaker 4: E.G.
- 26:06Speaker 2: Daly from the 80s, who actually had, like, a ton
- 26:08Speaker 2: of songs, almost all on soundtracks. She was a legitimate
- 26:12Speaker 2: pop star. She was, like, musical guest on Saturday Night Live,
- 26:15Speaker 2: one episode. E.G. Daly is Elizabeth Daly. I didn't know
- 26:19Speaker 2: she had a separate music career. I thought that was
- 26:23Speaker 2: an entirely different person. I don't think I'd ever looked
- 26:25Speaker 2: at E.G. Daly to see that it looks just like
- 26:27Speaker 2: Elizabeth Daly. But, yeah, I didn't know that was the
- 26:30Speaker 2: same person. That was kind of a revelation last night.
- 26:34Speaker 3: Was she pulling a Hannah Montana on you?
- 26:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I think she did. Put that wig on, it's
- 26:39Speaker 2: a whole different person.
- 26:41Speaker 1: Best of both worlds.
- 26:43Speaker 2: So, yeah.
- 26:45Speaker 1: You know, I wanted to address this. Before the movie,
- 26:47Speaker 1: they played a Mr. Bean short. I love British humor, actually,
- 26:53Speaker 1: but I don't get Mr. Bean at all. The very
- 26:56Speaker 1: end of it, I thought it was funny, and I
- 26:57Speaker 1: couldn't figure out why they were playing that. But you
- 27:02Speaker 1: guys were mentioning Pee-wee's mannerisms. It's almost like he could
- 27:08Speaker 1: go a whole movie without saying anything. It's just his
- 27:10Speaker 1: expressions and his movements and things like that. Mr. Bean
- 27:13Speaker 1: never says anything, so... I was just wondering if maybe
- 27:15Speaker 1: that's the tie-in right there.
- 27:17Speaker 2: Have you seen any of the old Mr. Bean shows,
- 27:19Speaker 2: like the actual TV shows? This, I think, was from
- 27:23Speaker 2: fucking hilarious. I think this was just a clip from
- 27:27Speaker 2: one of the later shows.
- 27:29Speaker 6: But I had found some that were online and had
- 27:33Speaker 6: Izzy watch them, and she got really into them because
- 27:36Speaker 6: she thought they were hilarious.
- 27:37Speaker 2: One with his, he's going to bed and he's got
- 27:39Speaker 2: his teddy bear, and he's pretty fucking funny.
- 27:43Speaker 1: I guess maybe I've just never given it a proper chance.
- 27:45Speaker 2: It's a hit and miss thing.
- 27:47Speaker 6: Well, if you watch the earlier ones, they're better than
- 27:49Speaker 6: the later ones. Because with anything, when things are early
- 27:54Speaker 6: and they're fresh, they're kind of like.
- 27:58Speaker 2: I don't know, they're not forced. And as it gets older,
- 28:01Speaker 2: people are like, oh, we're going to make it more funny.
- 28:03Speaker 2: We're going to force it down your throat. And then
- 28:05Speaker 2: it just gets to the point where it's just stupid.
- 28:08Speaker 2: And I think that's kind of the way.
- 28:10Speaker 6: That series became, as it progressed, they were like, oh,
- 28:12Speaker 6: we're going to be really funny now, you know.
- 28:15Speaker 2: Maybe a better tie-in might have been the first movie,
- 28:18Speaker 2: because you're talking about his, you know, physical humor. That's
- 28:22Speaker 2: what I noticed on the Ernest stuff, was how much, like,
- 28:24Speaker 2: there's a lot of his stuff that really, like, almost
- 28:27Speaker 2: was like Chaplin kind of physical humor. Like, it really
- 28:31Speaker 2: could have been silent and just, you know, played up.
- 28:34Speaker 2: And again, kids would laugh at it, because he's falling
- 28:36Speaker 2: down and running into stuff, and I mean, it does
- 28:38Speaker 2: play on that very old school version of physical comedy
- 28:42Speaker 2: that I guess Mr. Bean tapped into, too.
- 28:45Speaker 8: Well, one of the best parts, back on Ernest, the brothers,
- 28:50Speaker 8: the security guards. They were pretty funny, actually.
- 28:54Speaker 2: The old man. They're pretty much like Penn and Teller.
- 28:57Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 28:58Speaker 8: You know, you've got the idiot straight man and then
- 29:02Speaker 8: the one wise one that won't talk but, you know,
- 29:05Speaker 8: figures everything out.
- 29:06Speaker 7: Yep.
- 29:07Speaker 2: Even though he's a freak. He sells most of his scenes.
- 29:12Speaker 3: It's like Jay and Silent Bob.
- 29:13Speaker 8: It's all that, and I mean, it's that classic almost
- 29:17Speaker 8: Laurel and Hardy kind of stuff anyway. And they do
- 29:20Speaker 8: such a good job. And you're, you know, when he walks,
- 29:23Speaker 8: every scene I think the one brother walks up and
- 29:25Speaker 8: smacks Ernest on the back of the head. And you
- 29:28Speaker 8: know something funny's coming because they're introducing their little skit
- 29:31Speaker 8: for the next three minutes.
- 29:33Speaker 2: And it works it's again on like the lowest level
- 29:37Speaker 2: like it's they're probably one of the highlights but yeah
- 29:40Speaker 2: there's so many other things that are just so dumb
- 29:42Speaker 2: in that movie that it pains me that there's good
- 29:45Speaker 2: things in it i wish it could just all be
- 29:47Speaker 2: crap so i could write it off but i mean
- 29:48Speaker 2: there's moments when i'm like some of these guys you
- 29:51Speaker 2: know have something to offer it's just i.
- 29:53Speaker 8: Wish it was in a better movie there's one point
- 29:56Speaker 8: with the brothers and I'll have to mention this and
- 29:57Speaker 8: then we can move on.
- 29:58Speaker 2: And I won't even do my geek week because I've
- 30:00Speaker 2: gone too much.
- 30:01Speaker 8: But in the background, okay, the brothers, the one that
- 30:04Speaker 8: talks has already established that his brother doesn't trust anybody,
- 30:08Speaker 8: you know, and that's how the dual earnest, you know,
- 30:12Speaker 8: he can, he can tell them apart. But in the
- 30:15Speaker 8: background of the bank, the one brother that won't talk
- 30:19Speaker 8: is frisking his, his other, his brother and, They don't
- 30:23Speaker 8: mention it.
- 30:23Speaker 2: It's for probably a second and a half that you
- 30:25Speaker 2: see it.
- 30:27Speaker 8: It's just one of the funniest things because they set
- 30:29Speaker 8: it up 45 minutes before and there it is.
- 30:33Speaker 2: Again, it's not even in focus. You just see that
- 30:36Speaker 2: it's happening. Those are the good kind of jokes. The
- 30:39Speaker 2: stuff that's just subtle and understated and not stupid slapsticky
- 30:43Speaker 2: in your face. The background stuff is usually better in
- 30:46Speaker 2: those kind of movies. It is sad that they spend
- 30:48Speaker 2: 20 minutes on floor waxer, floor buffer humor. Yeah. Sliding
- 30:55Speaker 2: all over everywhere. It's a weird movie. Yeah. He's being
- 30:59Speaker 2: chased by the file cabinets. I'm just, what am I
- 31:01Speaker 2: watching here?
- 31:02Speaker 3: What the hell is going on? All right.
- 31:05Speaker 2: So, do we want to move on to you guys?
- 31:07Speaker 8: Yeah, move on.
- 31:08Speaker 3: Oh, is it our turn now?
- 31:09Speaker 2: I guess, Miss T and J, do you have stuff
- 31:11Speaker 2: for us?
- 31:11Speaker 3: We watched movies.
- 31:12Speaker 2: We got a lot of stuff.
- 31:13Speaker 3: We watched a couple movies. Yeah. Which should we start with?
- 31:16Speaker 3: Start with List. We watched The Last Lovecraft, The Call
- 31:22Speaker 3: of Cthulhu, or The Relic of Cthulhu.
- 31:23Speaker 2: The Relic of Cthulhu, yes.
- 31:25Speaker 3: And what did you think of this movie?
- 31:26Speaker 2: I thought it was pretty funny for such a low budget.
- 31:29Speaker 3: It had its moments.
- 31:30Speaker 2: It had its moments, yeah.
- 31:31Speaker 3: I thought it was pretty good. The friend was hilarious.
- 31:34Speaker 2: Yeah, the friend was good.
- 31:35Speaker 3: I don't remember their names because they didn't really rank
- 31:36Speaker 3: high enough for me to give them names. But his friend,
- 31:41Speaker 3: because it's a boring-ass guy, they work at an office
- 31:44Speaker 3: or some kind of business.
- 31:45Speaker 2: They work at Squirrelly Squirrel.
- 31:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 31:48Speaker 2: Gift baskets.
- 31:49Speaker 3: Yeah. Anyways, you have the one guy who's all serious
- 31:52Speaker 3: and the other guy who's just fucking retarded and got
- 31:54Speaker 3: his action figures that he plays with at work and
- 31:57Speaker 3: gives them voices and talks to them, which he was
- 32:00Speaker 3: hilarious through the whole movie.
- 32:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 32:02Speaker 3: But, yeah, it had its moments. Some parts were just
- 32:05Speaker 3: kind of like, eh, and then some parts were like, oh,
- 32:06Speaker 3: my God, this is fucking hilarious.
- 32:08Speaker 2: Yeah, sometimes it got a little slow. It got weird.
- 32:10Speaker 3: It's a Cthulhu movie.
- 32:11Speaker 6: Yeah, well, it's not really a dark, Cthulhu movie. It's
- 32:16Speaker 6: kind of a slapstick-y, you know, oh my god, he's
- 32:19Speaker 6: coming to get us all.
- 32:20Speaker 2: We've got to, you know. Which is unusual, really. It
- 32:23Speaker 2: was good.
- 32:24Speaker 3: It was worth watching. Anything else to say about that one?
- 32:29Speaker 2: No, I watched it. You know, But don't take it
- 32:32Speaker 2: too seriously.
- 32:33Speaker 3: It's hard to take this movie seriously.
- 32:34Speaker 2: Yeah, it's pretty funny. I like it. The run of
- 32:37Speaker 2: Cthulhu movies usually is pretty... The bar is set pretty low. Yeah,
- 32:41Speaker 2: and that's what aggravates me.
- 32:42Speaker 6: You've got such a great story and such great material
- 32:45Speaker 6: to work off of, but yet they just.
- 32:47Speaker 2: Churn out shit. Nobody knows how to do it right.
- 32:50Speaker 6: Yeah, and so this one, they come off real slapsticky almost,
- 32:54Speaker 6: and they know they're not going to make a good movie,
- 32:56Speaker 6: and they know they don't have a high budget.
- 32:58Speaker 3: So.
- 32:59Speaker 2: It actually works, I think. I think it comes out
- 33:02Speaker 2: pretty funny.
- 33:02Speaker 6: If you go into it not being completely serious, it's
- 33:06Speaker 6: got the nerds that are all.
- 33:08Speaker 2: Into Cthulhu mythos, and you're not getting it right.
- 33:12Speaker 3: That's the guy living in his mom's basement.
- 33:13Speaker 2: The guy living in his mom's basement. The more you
- 33:15Speaker 2: describe it, I think I've seen the trailer, and it
- 33:17Speaker 2: actually did look funny, if I'm thinking of the right one.
- 33:19Speaker 3: It's funny.
- 33:20Speaker 6: Yeah, it is pretty funny. If you get a chance,
- 33:22Speaker 6: check it out. It shouldn't be too bad. Don't take
- 33:25Speaker 6: it too seriously.
- 33:26Speaker 3: I'm going to skip around and do the last one.
- 33:28Speaker 3: We watched Tucker and Dale vs. Evil.
- 33:31Speaker 2: Yes.
- 33:31Speaker 6: We had gotten this via a friend. I know it's
- 33:37Speaker 6: probably not out yet now at all, is it?
- 33:39Speaker 5: No.
- 33:40Speaker 2: I don't think it's out.
- 33:41Speaker 3: It's select theaters and film festivals.
- 33:44Speaker 2: Film festivals.
- 33:45Speaker 3: What is it called?
- 33:45Speaker 2: Tucker and Dale vs. Evil. Most people have probably seen
- 33:49Speaker 2: the trailer for it already.
- 33:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:51Speaker 2: It's making its way out there.
- 33:53Speaker 3: Is that Adam Puddick? Alan Tudyk. I got it wrong. Sorry,
- 33:57Speaker 3: I was making up with Adam Baldwin. Sorry. Wash from Fireflies.
- 34:01Speaker 3: Fucking awesome.
- 34:02Speaker 2: For a redhead.
- 34:03Speaker 6: It's, you know, the movie's fucking hilarious. I'm not going
- 34:06Speaker 6: to say anything about it aside from I thought it
- 34:09Speaker 6: was really good. It plays off of all the wrong turns.
- 34:13Speaker 2: And crazy psycho hillbilly movies. Which there are a multitude.
- 34:17Speaker 2: All the cliches, yeah. All the cliches involved in it.
- 34:21Speaker 3: Because that's what it is. They just want to enjoy
- 34:24Speaker 3: their summer home. Yeah.
- 34:26Speaker 6: You know, if you live out in the backwoods and
- 34:30Speaker 6: you're tired of all the stereotypes that get labeled to
- 34:34Speaker 6: you and everybody else around you, you'll enjoy this movie.
- 34:38Speaker 6: And if you enjoy Wrong Turn and Crazy Tale Billy.
- 34:41Speaker 2: Movies, you'll enjoy this movie.
- 34:42Speaker 3: So Brian will sleep through it.
- 34:43Speaker 1: Yeah, so Brian will sleep through it.
- 34:46Speaker 6: I think it's pretty fast. I don't remember any slow
- 34:48Speaker 6: parts in it. It just kept going. throughout the whole
- 34:50Speaker 6: thing it was awesome.
- 34:52Speaker 3: It was chock full of awesome from beginning to end
- 34:54Speaker 3: I love Alan Tudyk even though I got his name
- 34:56Speaker 3: wrong I'm probably saying his last name wrong fuck I don't.
- 34:58Speaker 2: Know how to I've never been able to say it
- 34:59Speaker 2: correctly just assign him a new name that's what I
- 35:02Speaker 2: do just call him Wash anybody that cares is going
- 35:05Speaker 2: to know who he is.
- 35:07Speaker 3: Or what's his name from Dodgeball was he Steve the
- 35:10Speaker 3: Pirate Steve the Pirate God I love that guy he
- 35:14Speaker 3: should be in most movies He is just chock full
- 35:17Speaker 3: of awesome. This movie was so awesome. I loved it.
- 35:18Speaker 3: I want to watch it again. I want to watch
- 35:19Speaker 3: it right now. We should watch it instead of the
- 35:21Speaker 3: movie we're going to watch this week. What else did
- 35:25Speaker 3: we watch?
- 35:25Speaker 2: We watched Primal.
- 35:27Speaker 3: Which was something.
- 35:28Speaker 2: It was definitely something.
- 35:30Speaker 3: Which, again, proves you don't fucking go to Australia. Everything
- 35:33Speaker 3: there wants to kill you.
- 35:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 35:35Speaker 3: There's nothing safe in Australia.
- 35:36Speaker 2: I'm afraid to go to Australia.
- 35:38Speaker 6: I'm sure there's probably places where there's not going to
- 35:42Speaker 6: be things jumping out at you.
- 35:43Speaker 3: But Caves that want to rape you, apparently.
- 35:45Speaker 6: Caves that want to rape you and, you know, things
- 35:49Speaker 6: that want.
- 35:49Speaker 2: To eat you.
- 35:50Speaker 3: Bugs that eat your car.
- 35:51Speaker 2: Yeah, bugs that eat your car. Are there really bugs
- 35:53Speaker 2: in Australia that eat your car? Because that would really suck.
- 35:56Speaker 3: They ate the tires.
- 35:57Speaker 2: We do have Australian listeners, so if you're out there,
- 36:00Speaker 2: let us know if you, on a daily basis, are
- 36:02Speaker 2: almost killed. I'm afraid. Or run into giant bugs that
- 36:05Speaker 2: eat your car.
- 36:06Speaker 3: The horned giants were tiny bugs.
- 36:07Speaker 2: Tiny bugs.
- 36:08Speaker 3: It's like termites or something, but they ate part of the.
- 36:11Speaker 2: Rubber-eating termites.
- 36:12Speaker 3: They ate the fucking tent, Eller supplies, they ate the tires.
- 36:16Speaker 6: Yeah, I was like, what the fuck? You've got to
- 36:18Speaker 6: be kidding me. There's bugs that eat rubber? Come on.
- 36:21Speaker 3: The whole thing was these jackass Australians, which I was
- 36:25Speaker 3: happy to know that apparently it's not just Americans that
- 36:27Speaker 3: are jackasses, because I hated all these juice bags, too,
- 36:30Speaker 3: because they were just horrible. You hated all these people.
- 36:32Speaker 3: They were just Oh, there's one girl. She was a
- 36:34Speaker 3: fucking cunt. And I don't feel bad saying that because
- 36:37Speaker 3: she said it over and over again. So I don't
- 36:39Speaker 3: feel bad calling her a cunt because she was.
- 36:42Speaker 2: She introduced the word into the scenario. She was, yes,
- 36:45Speaker 2: she did. You can throw it around.
- 36:46Speaker 3: Yeah, it's okay. But they were all going. There was
- 36:48Speaker 3: this cave painting that they want to go see because
- 36:51Speaker 3: apparently nobody's seen it for 200 some odd years.
- 36:53Speaker 2: So let's all go see it.
- 36:55Speaker 3: BSD. Yeah, and they have to go through this cave.
- 36:58Speaker 3: And this one girl, apparently, she's in a glass of
- 37:00Speaker 3: bubble tea going to the cave. Pass it out. Apparently, apparently, well, apparently,
- 37:06Speaker 3: they made some brief reference to her being kidnapped or,
- 37:09Speaker 3: you know, basement for months. I don't, I missed the
- 37:12Speaker 3: whole prequel.
- 37:13Speaker 2: It sounds like a prequel. I don't know.
- 37:15Speaker 3: So she was afraid to go in the cave. I'm
- 37:18Speaker 3: not ruining much because this is all happening at the
- 37:20Speaker 3: very beginning of the movie. She like, she was in
- 37:22Speaker 3: the cave. She freaks out, passes out, hits her head,
- 37:25Speaker 3: blood hits the cave and the cave comes to life
- 37:27Speaker 3: or something. I don't fucking know what.
- 37:29Speaker 2: Yeah. That's, Sounds like I don't need to see it.
- 37:34Speaker 2: Just remember, just don't drop blood all over the place
- 37:36Speaker 2: and you'll be okay. It's not like I'm ruining anything.
- 37:38Speaker 3: I'm not telling you how it ends. yet.
- 37:45Speaker 2: You can't spoil the shit.
- 37:47Speaker 3: Out of it. It's not bad. They kill.
- 37:50Speaker 6: It wasn't really super bad, but the characters, I'd say
- 37:54Speaker 6: nine out of ten of them, you just can't wait
- 37:57Speaker 6: for them to fucking die. And the one that I
- 37:59Speaker 6: did like died first.
- 38:00Speaker 3: Yes.
- 38:01Speaker 2: The enjoyable ones seemed to die off, but... No, the
- 38:04Speaker 2: one that I liked. The one that you liked, yeah.
- 38:06Speaker 2: There was only one. They killed him real fast.
- 38:08Speaker 6: And the other guy that you're just like wishing he'd
- 38:10Speaker 6: die is a complete fucking.
- 38:13Speaker 2: This useless piece of shit. They like to drag those
- 38:17Speaker 2: guys out until the end. Oh, yeah. This guy's just useless.
- 38:21Speaker 2: I'm like, he can't die fast enough.
- 38:24Speaker 3: Oh, my God. I wanted to beat this guy.
- 38:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 38:26Speaker 3: I wanted to beat him to death.
- 38:27Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 38:28Speaker 3: Good times. And then we watched the entire series of
- 38:32Speaker 3: The Walking Dead. Yes. Which was so fucking awesome. Oh
- 38:36Speaker 3: my good god damn, I love that show. I like it.
- 38:38Speaker 3: I love Norman Reedus and his crazy ass redneck ass. Oh,
- 38:41Speaker 3: I want to give him a big old hug, but
- 38:42Speaker 3: he'd probably kill me.
- 38:44Speaker 2: No, he liked you.
- 38:45Speaker 5: No, he didn't. He looked uncomfortable.
- 38:46Speaker 3: I was a little molested.
- 38:47Speaker 2: I think he's just uncomfortable in general.
- 38:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 38:49Speaker 3: Because he was all fine and friendly and oh my god.
- 38:51Speaker 2: As soon as the picture took... Well, why were you
- 38:54Speaker 2: touching him like that?
- 38:56Speaker 3: You can't tell. He did. He was so nice. Norman
- 39:00Speaker 3: Reyes was so nice.
- 39:02Speaker 2: You get a picture with him and it looks like
- 39:04Speaker 2: you're giving him an anal probe. Dude, seriously.
- 39:09Speaker 3: Our friend Heather, he has a perfect Jordan Cannellotto awkward
- 39:12Speaker 3: 90s pose. The hands in the pockets. He was so awesome.
- 39:18Speaker 3: But yeah, I fucking love that show. I love everything
- 39:19Speaker 3: about that show.
- 39:20Speaker 7: I'm telling you.
- 39:21Speaker 2: Michael Rooker.
- 39:22Speaker 3: Oh my god.
- 39:23Speaker 2: He needs to be... I can't wait till they bring
- 39:24Speaker 2: him back i mean they set it up for him
- 39:26Speaker 2: to you know have another yeah how did he get
- 39:28Speaker 2: younger I don't know. That's like a mall rat. He
- 39:31Speaker 2: looks old. And that was like 20 years ago. I'm like,
- 39:34Speaker 2: what the fuck? How did he get... What?
- 39:36Speaker 3: I think like 60 or something. But he's like.
- 39:38Speaker 2: He's gotta be getting up there.
- 39:39Speaker 3: He was in shape in this movie. He was crowned.
- 39:42Speaker 3: I'm like, God.
- 39:43Speaker 2: He was fucking crazy. Yeah, he's... I mean, a horrible character,
- 39:46Speaker 2: but he plays him amazing.
- 39:48Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 39:49Speaker 2: You hate his guts. Oh, yeah. Ah, but.
- 39:51Speaker 3: He looks good in those jeans, though.
- 39:54Speaker 2: You can tell him that. We'll see him later this year.
- 39:56Speaker 3: Yeah, I love that movie. It's like... I don't know
- 39:59Speaker 3: anything about that movie, except for.
- 40:01Speaker 2: Movie or series? TV series.
- 40:03Speaker 3: We watched it all at once, so to me it
- 40:04Speaker 3: was just one big fucking long movie.
- 40:05Speaker 6: It's pretty cinematic. She was like, you want to stop?
- 40:07Speaker 6: And I was like, no, we keep going. We'll watch
- 40:09Speaker 6: the whole damn thing.
- 40:09Speaker 2: Especially the first one.
- 40:10Speaker 3: I stayed up until like 4 o'clock in the morning
- 40:11Speaker 3: watching it.
- 40:12Speaker 2: Yeah, it should be.
- 40:14Speaker 3: I love that movie. Party animals. I'm telling you. But then,
- 40:17Speaker 3: I just kept watching it, and I'm just like... Come on,
- 40:20Speaker 3: the show. There was nothing I disliked about the show.
- 40:22Speaker 6: I can't think of anything that I didn't like, except
- 40:25Speaker 6: for the fact that they were camping out in the
- 40:28Speaker 6: middle of the open. I was just like, how unprotected could.
- 40:32Speaker 2: You be just out in the open?
- 40:33Speaker 5: Oh, we're in the rock quarry.
- 40:34Speaker 2: But whatever. I don't know if I can complain about
- 40:37Speaker 2: it too much.
- 40:38Speaker 3: Well, they were away from everybody. They figured everybody was
- 40:40Speaker 3: in the cities.
- 40:41Speaker 2: There were too many trees and cover. They needed open
- 40:44Speaker 2: plains so they could see somebody coming. Yeah, you had
- 40:46Speaker 2: to be able to have a good, clear line of vision.
- 40:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 40:48Speaker 1: But they slept in tents. I feel like there's probably
- 40:51Speaker 1: a safer place to sleep in tents.
- 40:54Speaker 2: A tent is a force field.
- 40:55Speaker 3: Unless you're in Australia.
- 40:59Speaker 1: I mean, I'm just thinking there's endless supplies. You can
- 41:05Speaker 1: walk into a Home Depot. No one's going to stop you.
- 41:08Speaker 1: Build a damn shelter. Like a legit shelter. There was
- 41:12Speaker 1: an abandoned farmhouse that he saw.
- 41:14Speaker 3: They had a deadbolt. That's really a spoiler. People were
- 41:17Speaker 3: dead in there. But you can just drag their asses outside,
- 41:20Speaker 3: board your ass in, and you're awesome.
- 41:22Speaker 2: That house was owned by the horse, then.
- 41:24Speaker 1: I mean, like, a warehouse. You know, like, go to
- 41:26Speaker 1: a warehouse. There's going to be food around. If you're
- 41:29Speaker 1: in a city, there's going to be, like, stores of food.
- 41:31Speaker 3: There might be, like.
- 41:33Speaker 2: Yeah, they didn't want to stay in the city, though.
- 41:35Speaker 1: Well, even, like, a little town.
- 41:38Speaker 2: Yeah, little towns have Home Depots and stuff. They didn't
- 41:41Speaker 2: think that far ahead.
- 41:43Speaker 1: No, let's stay in this totally unsafe tent in the
- 41:46Speaker 1: middle of kind of a wooded area.
- 41:48Speaker 2: Outside of Atlanta. My favorite episodes were actually, like, back
- 41:52Speaker 2: in the city. Especially the end of the first episode
- 41:54Speaker 2: when he goes back in is amazing. But then that
- 41:56Speaker 2: other one when they go back for the guns, I
- 41:58Speaker 2: really like that whole when they've got the city laid
- 42:00Speaker 2: out and they've got the plan and you go over
- 42:02Speaker 2: here and distract them and I'm going to run around here. Like,
- 42:04Speaker 2: that whole episode is so much fun of just them, like,
- 42:07Speaker 2: playing cat and mouse with a whole bunch of zombies.
- 42:10Speaker 2: And I like that. What did you do before this
- 42:12Speaker 2: as pizza delivery guy? That guy's awesome. Yeah, I like
- 42:15Speaker 2: that guy. And that whole episode is just a lot
- 42:17Speaker 2: of fun. Yeah.
- 42:18Speaker 5: I mean.
- 42:19Speaker 1: and I'm dwelling on this, but like, damn, in the,
- 42:22Speaker 1: in nature, there's like bears and shit and.
- 42:25Speaker 2: Snakes and stuff. There could be zombie bears. The fuck's
- 42:27Speaker 2: worse than a fucking zombie? That's a movie right there,
- 42:29Speaker 2: zombie bear. I kept waiting for zombie horse. When's the
- 42:33Speaker 2: zombie horse coming back?
- 42:34Speaker 1: Zombie bear, zombie bear, zombie, wait, I'm trying to get
- 42:38Speaker 1: this up. Zombie bear versus monster lion or something.
- 42:45Speaker 3: Which, update, on the monster madness bracket, Sharktopus did win.
- 42:51Speaker 2: As it should have. Hell yeah, kicked all sorts of ass.
- 42:53Speaker 2: It was Sharktopus for God's sake.
- 42:55Speaker 1: It's weird to see Eric Roberts, and he's in, like,
- 42:58Speaker 1: the shitty soap opera. It's like, how do you work.
- 43:00Speaker 2: Yeah, Eric Roberts. Yeah, Eric Roberts.
- 43:03Speaker 3: How do you, like, work so far backwards? I was
- 43:05Speaker 3: in Sharktopus.
- 43:06Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 43:07Speaker 1: Julia Roberts' brother.
- 43:08Speaker 3: Yeah, he was the.
- 43:09Speaker 1: How do you start off famous and then work your
- 43:11Speaker 1: way downwards?
- 43:12Speaker 2: It seems to be happening a lot more lately.
- 43:14Speaker 1: How do you work your way down to soap operas?
- 43:16Speaker 2: There's a lot more. Didn't Franco go back to doing
- 43:20Speaker 2: soap operas? Yeah.
- 43:22Speaker 3: James Franco.
- 43:23Speaker 2: Like recently? Yeah.
- 43:26Speaker 3: We'll get to part of that in a second. I
- 43:28Speaker 3: got a story about that.
- 43:29Speaker 2: I knew you had one, but I thought he did too.
- 43:31Speaker 2: There's a lot of people that are kind of going
- 43:33Speaker 2: back to soaps and I don't understand why other than
- 43:36Speaker 2: I mean it's a paycheck you.
- 43:38Speaker 1: Know they're cancelling all the soaps that's true not all
- 43:40Speaker 1: of them we're getting.
- 43:41Speaker 3: Rid of what general hospital no they're keeping general.
- 43:44Speaker 2: Hospital we're getting rid of all my children.
- 43:46Speaker 3: And days of work I'm not taking part in a
- 43:47Speaker 3: lot of this one life to live one life to
- 43:49Speaker 3: live shit I'm just.
- 43:50Speaker 1: Talking about young and restless is young and restless good
- 43:52Speaker 1: I think, I don't know.
- 43:53Speaker 3: I've watched... I'll get into.
- 43:54Speaker 2: That in a minute. I got rid of Santa Barbara,
- 43:57Speaker 2: damn it. I got rid of Passions.
- 43:59Speaker 4: Passions!
- 44:00Speaker 5: I love Passions!
- 44:00Speaker 3: I actually did love Passions.
- 44:02Speaker 2: Damn, I fell in a wall! That was probably the
- 44:04Speaker 2: best one of all.
- 44:06Speaker 1: I worked with someone who never sent Julian after Passions.
- 44:09Speaker 3: I never actually watched Passions. I watched it vicariously through Spike.
- 44:12Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the only reason I knew what Passions was,
- 44:14Speaker 2: was because Spike watched it.
- 44:16Speaker 3: But yeah, anyway, back to The Walking Dead kicked ass.
- 44:18Speaker 3: I love Norman Reedus and his crazy-ass redneckness.
- 44:22Speaker 4: Gosh.
- 44:22Speaker 3: And then after the final episode, we had to get
- 44:28Speaker 3: online and Google, like, what the hell did the doctor whisper?
- 44:31Speaker 2: And we're not going to say.
- 44:33Speaker 3: We're not.
- 44:34Speaker 2: Because you can get online and look it up your
- 44:35Speaker 2: own name.
- 44:35Speaker 3: Or you can read the comic books.
- 44:36Speaker 2: Or you can read the comic books. We're going to
- 44:38Speaker 2: have to read pictures.
- 44:40Speaker 3: I know.
- 44:40Speaker 2: That's kind of what we figured, though.
- 44:41Speaker 3: But then I finally, finally, after, like, how long trying
- 44:45Speaker 3: to get Boyfriend to watch it, we finally sat down
- 44:47Speaker 3: and watched The Hitcher.
- 44:49Speaker 2: The original.
- 44:50Speaker 3: Wow.
- 44:50Speaker 2: I love the original. Fucking awesome.
- 44:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 44:52Speaker 2: I love the original. Rucker Hauer. God damn it. He's
- 44:56Speaker 2: a fucking nutball. Holy shit. In real life, too.
- 45:00Speaker 3: He's fucking awesome. He is. Oh, my God. I love
- 45:03Speaker 3: Rucker Hauer.
- 45:03Speaker 6: He's one of those guys that if you were in
- 45:05Speaker 6: the same room, it would be really uncomfortable because you
- 45:06Speaker 6: think at any moment he's just going to start screaming
- 45:08Speaker 6: at you.
- 45:09Speaker 3: Well, he is because I've seen him. He's so fucking nice.
- 45:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 45:11Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 45:14Speaker 3: He's so awful.
- 45:15Speaker 2: Those are the guys you've got to worry about.
- 45:17Speaker 3: I know. It's okay. He can yell at me if
- 45:19Speaker 3: he wants to. While they're doing some Guinness, I don't care.
- 45:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 45:23Speaker 3: Have you seen all the commercials he's done? Way back
- 45:26Speaker 3: in the day, apparently, people were taking him way too
- 45:29Speaker 3: fucking seriously. He's like, ah. So they did this whole
- 45:31Speaker 3: series of Guinness commercials of him just being completely goofy.
- 45:36Speaker 3: Just off the wall and some of the shit. My
- 45:39Speaker 3: favorite is just him sitting there in this chair that's
- 45:42Speaker 3: completely god awful tacky chair with this big aquarium window
- 45:45Speaker 3: behind it and a dolphin swims by it's not easy
- 45:49Speaker 3: being a dolphin and that's the whole fucking commercial.
- 45:53Speaker 1: That's amazing. I didn't even realize they tapped into that
- 45:55Speaker 1: type of, like, weird, offbeat humor back then.
- 45:58Speaker 2: Yeah, it's funny.
- 46:00Speaker 1: I mean, that's what, like, Old Spice and those commercials
- 46:03Speaker 1: that I love.
- 46:03Speaker 2: Banged on that.
- 46:04Speaker 3: Watch the Rutger Hauer Guinness commercials. It's fucking awesome. It's
- 46:09Speaker 3: just so off the wall and weird that it's just, like,
- 46:12Speaker 3: you just sit mesmerized. You're like, What the hell did
- 46:16Speaker 3: I just see? Did that really just happen?
- 46:18Speaker 2: The Hitcher, yeah, great movie. I always loved that one.
- 46:21Speaker 2: I knew it was going to be a good movie,
- 46:22Speaker 2: but I just.
- 46:22Speaker 3: It took forever to get you to watch it.
- 46:24Speaker 2: You didn't want to watch it.
- 46:24Speaker 3: It took two days to get you to watch it,
- 46:26Speaker 3: because we started watching it one day.
- 46:27Speaker 5: Moods.
- 46:28Speaker 3: And then you're like, oh, I can't get into this.
- 46:30Speaker 3: I'm like, oh.
- 46:31Speaker 1: Didn't they make a remake of that?
- 46:33Speaker 3: Yeah. Sean Bean plays him? Is that the name right?
- 46:37Speaker 2: I don't know. I eventually might watch it just, I
- 46:41Speaker 2: don't know, for the sake of saying I did.
- 46:43Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure he was in like the Lord of
- 46:44Speaker 3: the Rings movies too.
- 46:45Speaker 2: I just avoided it because I love the first one
- 46:47Speaker 2: so much.
- 46:47Speaker 3: I do want to see it, but yeah, you were
- 46:50Speaker 3: getting mad for a while at a... C... C.
- 46:53Speaker 2: Thomas Howe? He's a bitch! It's pretty easy to get
- 46:56Speaker 2: mad at C.
- 46:56Speaker 3: Thomas Howe.
- 46:58Speaker 2: A little crying, whiny-ass little bitch.
- 47:00Speaker 3: He's C.
- 47:00Speaker 2: Thomas Howe. He's always... He was good in Red Dawn.
- 47:04Speaker 2: He was good in The Outsiders. He's good in The Outsiders.
- 47:09Speaker 2: That was probably his finest acting moment.
- 47:11Speaker 1: He was great in Soul Brother.
- 47:13Speaker 2: Soul Man. Soul Man, no. He went steadily down to...
- 47:15Speaker 2: I've never seen it.
- 47:16Speaker 3: I don't have any interest to ever watch it.
- 47:20Speaker 2: He, like, moved into the direct-to-DVD market there for quite
- 47:23Speaker 2: a while. That, and, uh, spoiler alert, uh, if you
- 47:27Speaker 2: haven't seen the movie, uh... Jennifer Jason Leigh? She fucking dies!
- 47:30Speaker 2: He pulls her in half!
- 47:31Speaker 4: I forgot!
- 47:32Speaker 2: I was like, oh my god, he fucking killed her!
- 47:33Speaker 4: No way!
- 47:34Speaker 3: You waited till the next scene where he's in, like,
- 47:38Speaker 3: the sheriff's office, and you look over at me, did
- 47:41Speaker 3: they just kill her?
- 47:42Speaker 2: That's, again, one more reason why I love that movie.
- 47:45Speaker 2: It's so unexpected, and so, I mean, just.
- 47:49Speaker 6: He couldn't have fucking shot the ignition in the damn
- 47:52Speaker 6: fucking truck and killed it.
- 47:53Speaker 2: I wouldn't have fucking yanked her in half. Story-wise, it's
- 47:56Speaker 2: so original and so impressive.
- 47:58Speaker 3: You were like, well, why doesn't C. Thomas Howell just
- 48:00Speaker 3: distract him while the police go on tire? Yeah. You
- 48:04Speaker 3: were yelling at the movie.
- 48:05Speaker 2: Yeah, they're just going to stand around like a bunch
- 48:07Speaker 2: of bumbling idiots. He's distracted. He's not paying attention to
- 48:10Speaker 2: what's going on in the rear view.
- 48:12Speaker 1: Oh, you know, actually, I saw the new one.
- 48:15Speaker 3: I didn't hate it.
- 48:16Speaker 1: I mean, it was amazing.
- 48:17Speaker 3: What is that guy's name? Sean Bean? I keep wanting
- 48:21Speaker 3: to call him Mr. Bean, and I'm pretty sure Mr.
- 48:22Speaker 3: Bean was not in the history.
- 48:24Speaker 2: That would be awesome. That would be a very different movie.
- 48:27Speaker 3: They have a sequel, too, don't they? Like with C.
- 48:30Speaker 3: Thomas Howell?
- 48:31Speaker 2: Yeah, they did a bad sequel, didn't they? C.
- 48:33Speaker 7: Thomas Howell.
- 48:34Speaker 2: Why are you doing this to me?
- 48:38Speaker 1: Oh, wow, there's a Hitcher, too.
- 48:39Speaker 3: Yeah, Jake Busey. But it didn't... Oh, wow, Jake Busey.
- 48:44Speaker 2: Yeah, it was a straight-to-DVD kind of sequel.
- 48:47Speaker 3: Nobody's going to beat the crazy of Rutger Hauer.
- 48:51Speaker 7: Wow.
- 48:51Speaker 1: I don't see anything about a Hitcher.
- 48:54Speaker 6: not rucker howard crazy no jbc's just fucking nuts is
- 48:58Speaker 6: also a good actor is the thing and most other
- 49:01Speaker 6: people that just act crazy are just crazy.
- 49:03Speaker 3: And i was going back and looking at pictures god
- 49:05Speaker 3: he was a beautiful man back in the day rucker
- 49:07Speaker 3: howard oh my fucking damn.
- 49:09Speaker 2: It was legitimately nutty watch him in blade runner i
- 49:12Speaker 2: know he's half naked most of the time i.
- 49:14Speaker 3: Know right I was watching an interview about him afterwards
- 49:17Speaker 3: and I'm like, look how pretty he is. Isn't he pretty?
- 49:20Speaker 3: Look at this. But yeah, Rutger Howard is just so fucking,
- 49:23Speaker 3: he's buckets of nuts and I love him, but he's...
- 49:26Speaker 3: I don't.
- 49:26Speaker 2: Remember you getting all excited during Nighthawks.
- 49:28Speaker 3: I don't, because I don't know.
- 49:29Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 49:29Speaker 2: He's pretty cool in Nighthawks, too.
- 49:31Speaker 3: I don't know, because he wasn't the crazy that drawed
- 49:33Speaker 3: me in. Oh my God.
- 49:34Speaker 1: I'm looking at pictures of C. Thomas Howell as.
- 49:36Speaker 3: An old man. Ugh.
- 49:37Speaker 2: It's weird.
- 49:38Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 49:39Speaker 2: He was on that magic show.
- 49:40Speaker 3: He's so old.
- 49:41Speaker 2: Like, former celebrity people trying to become magicians.
- 49:44Speaker 5: What shit is old?
- 49:45Speaker 1: I know.
- 49:46Speaker 2: Holy fucking shit.
- 49:47Speaker 3: Is that from the sci-fi original movie? Because he was
- 49:48Speaker 3: in like a.
- 49:49Speaker 2: How does he look like him? How does he look
- 49:51Speaker 2: that old? See, Tom is grandpa. I know.
- 49:53Speaker 3: I mean, come on. He was like.
- 49:55Speaker 2: What was the movie.
- 49:56Speaker 5: That we watched?
- 49:57Speaker 1: 15 years older than me.
- 49:59Speaker 3: Shouldn't he just be like 37 now?
- 50:02Speaker 2: The movie that I was trying to figure out, Rucker Harrell,
- 50:06Speaker 2: that I thought we watched. What was the Rucker Harrell
- 50:08Speaker 2: we did for the show? Oh, he's at least 40. Yeah,
- 50:10Speaker 2: he's got to be 40. He was born in 1966.
- 50:12Speaker 2: Didn't we do a Rucker Harrell movie for the show?
- 50:14Speaker 4: We did.
- 50:14Speaker 3: What was the Rucker Harrell we did? With the creature.
- 50:17Speaker 2: Oh, split second. Did we not do that for the podcast? Yeah.
- 50:20Speaker 2: How come I can't find it on... I can't find
- 50:22Speaker 2: it on the.
- 50:24Speaker 2: We magically found that one. It's not available.
- 50:28Speaker 3: No, I mean, he can't find the podcast.
- 50:30Speaker 2: Oh, I think that one's gone already. Like, we only
- 50:32Speaker 2: had so much space, so I think the early ones
- 50:35Speaker 2: have dropped off.
- 50:35Speaker 6: Because that was like... No, we fucking saw that. It's
- 50:38Speaker 6: not on here. I remember trying to find that myself.
- 50:42Speaker 6: I couldn't find it anywhere. That was one we found
- 50:44Speaker 6: at one of the conventions or we wouldn't have seen it.
- 50:46Speaker 4: Oh.
- 50:46Speaker 3: Yeah. We've watched more than one Rucker Hauer movie. We
- 50:49Speaker 3: watched Nighthawks.
- 50:51Speaker 2: Nighthawks and Split Seconds. He might be in something else.
- 50:56Speaker 2: I don't know. Definitely those two, yeah.
- 50:58Speaker 3: There was one. It was in 2003. Okay. Because, yeah,
- 51:00Speaker 3: you tried to tell me we didn't watch Nighthawks. I
- 51:02Speaker 3: started watching the trailer. I'm like.
- 51:03Speaker 2: That's not the one that I was talking about, though.
- 51:05Speaker 3: Because you're like, it's a movie and everything's wet.
- 51:07Speaker 6: I'm like.
- 51:08Speaker 2: Yeah, it's got water. And it's got this alien. And
- 51:10Speaker 2: it's got this alien. That split second. Who was the female... Oh,
- 51:16Speaker 2: Kim Cattrall. Kim Cattrall.
- 51:17Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 51:18Speaker 2: Well, that was my main complaint of the entire movie. Yeah,
- 51:21Speaker 2: I know. It's like, okay, there's some bad writing and
- 51:23Speaker 2: some choppy editing, but let's talk about Kim Cattrall.
- 51:26Speaker 3: Well, yeah, back to the hitcher. It's like, we had
- 51:28Speaker 3: to try to figure out why, because he was like,
- 51:32Speaker 3: why is John Ryder's character doing this? You know?
- 51:36Speaker 2: He's fucking crazy.
- 51:38Speaker 3: And we were trying, I looked it up online on forums,
- 51:40Speaker 3: I'm like, is it just because he's fucking nuts? Yeah.
- 51:42Speaker 3: And some of them had these different theories, like, well,
- 51:44Speaker 3: he had a death wish, and that's why he was
- 51:46Speaker 3: actor C. Thomas Howell, because He was doing a bit
- 51:48Speaker 3: of a fight. He was like, when he pulled over
- 51:51Speaker 3: and he's in the car, like, I want you to
- 51:53Speaker 3: stop me. And that's why he kept chasing him was
- 51:55Speaker 3: because he's the only one that he thought could do it.
- 51:57Speaker 3: And he figured if he kept giving him reason enough,
- 51:59Speaker 3: he would fucking do it.
- 52:00Speaker 2: Yeah, because everybody else, you notice that he picked up,
- 52:03Speaker 2: he killed them all.
- 52:03Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 52:04Speaker 10: Easily.
- 52:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 52:06Speaker 2: But then, like you said, he put up a fight.
- 52:08Speaker 2: He kicked him out of the car. He's like, I
- 52:09Speaker 2: don't want to die! He kicked him out of the car.
- 52:11Speaker 3: Between crying gasps.
- 52:13Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 52:14Speaker 2: I don't want to die! Was he girl slapping him?
- 52:16Speaker 2: Get off me! Pretty much.
- 52:17Speaker 3: Yeah. But even the chance at the very end, before he,
- 52:22Speaker 3: you know, we already spoiled it, pulled a golden girl
- 52:24Speaker 3: in half, he's like, I want you to put the
- 52:25Speaker 3: gun into my head and kill me, you know? And
- 52:29Speaker 3: that's when he's like, when he couldn't do it, he's like, oh,
- 52:30Speaker 3: my God, you are useless.
- 52:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 52:32Speaker 2: We've all thought that about C. Thomas Howell at one point.
- 52:35Speaker 1: I think he thinks that about himself, even.
- 52:38Speaker 3: I'm so useless. Yeah. Arthur Hauer. God, when's he going
- 52:41Speaker 3: to do conventions?
- 52:43Speaker 2: I don't know. He needs to.
- 52:44Speaker 1: Before he dies.
- 52:45Speaker 3: God, I love Ricker Howard. But yeah, the only other
- 52:48Speaker 3: thing I watched, I can only stomach part of it.
- 52:52Speaker 3: It's like, Sean Patrick Flannery, I love you dearly, but
- 52:55Speaker 3: Young and the Restless. There's only so much I can tolerate.
- 53:00Speaker 3: It's like five minute intervals.
- 53:02Speaker 1: Is that the Young and the Restless now?
- 53:04Speaker 3: Yes!
- 53:04Speaker 1: There's an example of people working backwards.
- 53:08Speaker 3: I only caught part of it. I was flipping through
- 53:10Speaker 3: and there he was in a barn. Being hot. Whatever.
- 53:14Speaker 3: Or some girl, I'm assuming she ran away because she's
- 53:16Speaker 3: hiding out in his barn. He gives her a laptop
- 53:18Speaker 3: because he's nice.
- 53:20Speaker 2: Hey, I want a free laptop.
- 53:22Speaker 3: He gave her a laptop so that she could check
- 53:23Speaker 3: her Facebook page.
- 53:25Speaker 2: Ah, plug.
- 53:25Speaker 3: Yeah, whatever.
- 53:26Speaker 2: This whole thing is sponsored by Facebook.
- 53:28Speaker 3: Yeah, apparently she's pretending to be dead, and it's people going, God,
- 53:30Speaker 3: what a bitch. I'm glad she died.
- 53:32Speaker 1: Were they really saying that?
- 53:34Speaker 6: Nice.
- 53:34Speaker 3: Not quite in those exact same words.
- 53:36Speaker 2: That's awesome.
- 53:36Speaker 3: But anyway, so yeah, Sean Patrick Flannery. I tried. For you,
- 53:39Speaker 3: I tried to watch a soap opera, and I failed epically.
- 53:42Speaker 2: I just hate the format of some of it. Just
- 53:44Speaker 2: the way that it's structured, the annoying cutting back and forth,
- 53:47Speaker 2: the dragging a scene out for three weeks that could
- 53:50Speaker 2: be done in two minutes.
- 53:51Speaker 3: I was excited there were faces that were even more
- 53:53Speaker 3: plastic than his. Yeah.
- 53:55Speaker 2: It's like a fight talking about fighting for four hours.
- 53:58Speaker 1: The creepy guy with the black hair.
- 53:59Speaker 2: I used to get so mad. Next week on Dragon
- 54:01Speaker 2: Ball Z.
- 54:01Speaker 3: I was like, no, you're going to be fucking cheating me.
- 54:04Speaker 3: But yeah, Sean Patrick Flanagan, Young and the Restless. I tried.
- 54:09Speaker 3: I tried. I did. Truly, I did. But then Boyfriend
- 54:11Speaker 3: came in and he's like, he was trying to talk
- 54:12Speaker 3: to me and he's like, I can't talk to you.
- 54:14Speaker 6: I can't talk to you with this going on in
- 54:16Speaker 6: the background. I'm distracted by soap opera.
- 54:19Speaker 3: So he turned it down like, alright, but you're only
- 54:21Speaker 3: talking to Sean Patrick Flannery.
- 54:22Speaker 5: She was like, stop it!
- 54:22Speaker 3: Turn it back up! You're just having a serious conversation
- 54:26Speaker 3: telling me something. And I'm just like, alright, shh. Sean
- 54:29Speaker 3: Patrick Flannery's back on. Sean Patrick Flannery! My stories!
- 54:33Speaker 2: My stories! You'll get so hooked by the rest of
- 54:38Speaker 2: that show.
- 54:38Speaker 1: I know.
- 54:39Speaker 3: Luckily, they started a different, maybe it was a One
- 54:43Speaker 3: Life to Live. It was on the Soap Opera channel.
- 54:46Speaker 3: They had a whole channel. They had a marathon coming up,
- 54:48Speaker 3: something else. If I had started The Young and the
- 54:50Speaker 3: Restless Marathon at the beginning, who knows where I'd be now?
- 54:53Speaker 3: Probably in there watching the.
- 54:55Speaker 6: I grew up with soap operas. It was my mom.
- 55:00Speaker 6: My mom, I'd get home from school, she'd be watching
- 55:03Speaker 6: soap operas, and I would come to talk to her,
- 55:05Speaker 6: and she would be like, Go outside!
- 55:08Speaker 2: I'm watching TV, and I would have to go outside.
- 55:11Speaker 2: I'd be outside. They'd basically lock me out of the house.
- 55:14Speaker 1: Nice.
- 55:14Speaker 6: And I'd be outside all damn day until the soap
- 55:16Speaker 6: opera's over with because she'd be on the phone with
- 55:19Speaker 6: all the other women in the neighborhood.
- 55:21Speaker 2: Because this is the way it was back in the 80s.
- 55:23Speaker 2: They were all watching. Oh, my God, he did what? Oh,
- 55:26Speaker 2: I didn't even know that. Oh, he's got his shirt off.
- 55:31Speaker 2: So as kids, we all kind of got together. The
- 55:33Speaker 2: anti-self coalitions?
- 55:35Speaker 6: Yeah, well, all of our moms kicked us out of
- 55:38Speaker 6: the house, you know, because it was soap opera time.
- 55:40Speaker 2: But they were all on the phone, at least until
- 55:42Speaker 2: the dads got home. They had to hang up real quick.
- 55:44Speaker 2: This was before they had internet. Before they had internet.
- 55:47Speaker 2: There was no chat rooms then. No, back when all
- 55:49Speaker 2: the phone numbers were four digits.
- 55:51Speaker 3: Wow.
- 55:52Speaker 2: You know, you only had a dial.
- 55:53Speaker 3: You had a 10K on a string.
- 55:54Speaker 1: That happened?
- 55:54Speaker 5: Really?
- 55:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 55:55Speaker 2: Phone numbers used to only.
- 55:56Speaker 3: Be four digits?
- 55:57Speaker 2: In our area of town, phone numbers were four digits.
- 56:00Speaker 2: And they all had cords, too.
- 56:02Speaker 3: I remember the rotary dial.
- 56:03Speaker 2: Yeah, ours was 9417. My friend's was 6880. My other
- 56:05Speaker 2: friend's was 9682. At least we didn't have that here.
- 56:13Speaker 2: I've always had a regular number. But I guess, yeah,
- 56:17Speaker 2: depending on the smaller area. When you were out in
- 56:19Speaker 2: the middle of nowhere, you had a four-digit phone number.
- 56:21Speaker 2: You just needed a prefix. You didn't need a prefix.
- 56:26Speaker 1: I wonder if there's just going to be so many
- 56:28Speaker 1: numbers that they're going to start being eight digits and
- 56:31Speaker 1: then nine digits.
- 56:31Speaker 2: It'd be funny. With cell phone numbers, possibly.
- 56:34Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 56:35Speaker 3: We'll just start making the area code necessary.
- 56:37Speaker 2: We'll just make new numbers.
- 56:39Speaker 3: I mean, we've already ended up with the area code.
- 56:41Speaker 3: You already had the 10 digits right there.
- 56:42Speaker 2: The number between 10 and 11.
- 56:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 56:44Speaker 3: G11. G11.
- 56:45Speaker 2: We're just going to start melding things together. How do
- 56:48Speaker 2: you write that?
- 56:51Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 56:52Speaker 3: But yeah, it's all the things we watched. I myself
- 56:55Speaker 3: went to an... Well, me and my mom. I'm not
- 56:56Speaker 3: going to go by myself. I'm not that big of
- 56:58Speaker 3: a dork. Me and my mom went to an Elvis
- 57:00Speaker 3: impersonators contest. That was pretty exciting. I got hit on
- 57:04Speaker 3: by an Elvis impersonator. Sweet. That was pretty awesome. So
- 57:08Speaker 3: if I'm ever single... You better watch out.
- 57:11Speaker 2: He called me mean.
- 57:12Speaker 3: He told me how old he was. And I'm like, wow,
- 57:15Speaker 3: you know, you're only 10 years younger than my mother.
- 57:17Speaker 3: And he was like, well, that's just mean.
- 57:20Speaker 2: So he was really nice.
- 57:23Speaker 3: So he's going to make me dinner if I'm ever single.
- 57:24Speaker 3: Because he was like, I can cook. And my mom
- 57:27Speaker 3: was like, yeah, I can tell.
- 57:30Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 57:32Speaker 1: It's so funny that you get all of your, like,
- 57:35Speaker 1: your wit and your charm from your mother.
- 57:37Speaker 3: Is that what we're calling it now?
- 57:39Speaker 2: Air quotes there. There's other words for that. That's awesome.
- 57:44Speaker 1: I would have loved it if it was there, but
- 57:47Speaker 1: I was like, I can tell.
- 57:48Speaker 3: But yes, I got hit on in an Elvis impersonator contest.
- 57:52Speaker 3: That's the end of my stories.
- 57:54Speaker 1: Did I mention, I think I forgot to mention, did
- 57:56Speaker 1: I mention I was dressed up like a female version
- 57:58Speaker 1: of Pee Wee?
- 57:59Speaker 2: I don't think you did, actually. She was.
- 58:02Speaker 1: No one really got it.
- 58:03Speaker 2: I did, but you told me it beforehand. Yeah. I
- 58:06Speaker 2: was expecting it. Do you have a red bow tie?
- 58:08Speaker 2: I did.
- 58:09Speaker 1: I mean, I kind of feel like that's all you need. Gray,
- 58:13Speaker 1: white shirt, gray pants, gray jacket.
- 58:17Speaker 2: After the fact, after I realized that I was like, oh, yeah,
- 58:20Speaker 2: that's pretty good. White shoes. I didn't pay it. But
- 58:23Speaker 2: you were the girl version of Pee Wee. I was
- 58:24Speaker 2: the girl version of Pee Wee. There was another girl
- 58:26Speaker 2: who was dressed as Pee Wee.
- 58:27Speaker 3: Really?
- 58:28Speaker 2: She was wearing a suit. She looked like a guy.
- 58:30Speaker 2: So you had a very different variation. I kind of
- 58:34Speaker 2: liked yours because you were trying to do something different
- 58:37Speaker 2: with it, but yet still going with the same theme. Yeah.
- 58:40Speaker 3: Well, now it's your turn for Geek Week.
- 58:42Speaker 1: Do you have anything?
- 58:44Speaker 2: Unless you have anything outstanding. Um.
- 58:49Speaker 1: No, I don't know if anyone has, I kind of
- 58:51Speaker 1: wanted to talk about this because I was trying to
- 58:53Speaker 1: watch it and I fell asleep, but I didn't know
- 58:54Speaker 1: if anyone has heard of it because I'm kind of
- 58:56Speaker 1: excited about it, and I was thinking maybe this might
- 58:58Speaker 1: be a good movie for the podcast sometime. It's called
- 59:01Speaker 1: Mic Max. It's directed by Jeunet, the same guy that
- 59:05Speaker 1: did City of Lost Children.
- 59:06Speaker 2: I've heard about it.
- 59:08Speaker 1: It's not like the double team, you know, that did
- 59:09Speaker 1: City of Lost Children. of Lost Children and.
- 59:10Speaker 2: Delicatessen, but I don't think they work together anymore.
- 59:13Speaker 4: I know.
- 59:14Speaker 1: But, uh, yeah, um, visually, like, the first ten minutes
- 59:18Speaker 1: that I caught before I, like, passed out, I didn't, like,
- 59:21Speaker 1: pass out.
- 59:22Speaker 3: I fell asleep. I put it on.
- 59:24Speaker 1: I put movies on while I'm laying in bed to
- 59:27Speaker 1: fall asleep to, so. Naturally, I fell asleep to this.
- 59:30Speaker 2: That's a pretty good thing to do.
- 59:32Speaker 1: It was, like, amazing visually so far. I didn't know
- 59:34Speaker 1: if you guys would be interested in that sometime. I
- 59:37Speaker 1: know it got a long, long, long wish. But I
- 59:40Speaker 1: think mainly just because it's hard for me to read
- 59:43Speaker 1: it on my computer.
- 59:45Speaker 3: And stay awake during movies?
- 59:47Speaker 1: And, like, see it from, like, my bed and read
- 59:50Speaker 1: it comfortably. And, like, it would be nice to watch
- 59:53Speaker 1: on a real TV, so.
- 59:56Speaker 2: We can throw it on the list. We do it
- 59:57Speaker 2: on the show, so I can actually watch it.
- 59:58Speaker 3: Most people that are on the show should just fall asleep.
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: Unless it's all movies.
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: Yeah, you fell asleep last night. I did.
- 1:00:06Speaker 5: I did.
- 1:00:07Speaker 3: I was so excited. I was mad.
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: Jessica was like, I don't think I'm going to go back.
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: I'm just going to hang out here. And I'm like,
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: I was like, I've been waiting for this All my life.
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: And then I fell asleep.
- 1:00:19Speaker 3: She was like, how was the movie?
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: I was like, I slept through a lot of it.
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: You'll never know how it turns out. Yeah, no, I'm kidding.
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: Hey, I caught the beginning and some of the middle
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: and the end. And I've seen it like a hundred times.
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: And we got free hot dogs. That's true. That weren't
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: cooked all the way through.
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: These hot dogs are.
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: Perfectly fully cooked. They were fully cooked, yeah. They were
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: so cold in the middle.
- 1:00:43Speaker 7: Mine was, so.
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: It's hard. Well, that grill didn't have fire on it,
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: so he was working at a disadvantage.
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: The grill didn't have fire?
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: It was like an electric grill, so not quite so light.
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: It just had an outlet. It was a 40-watt bulb.
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: It's red to make you think it's hot. Wow, that's amazing.
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: That's all you need. All right, does that round out
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: the Geek Week?
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: Yeah. All right.
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: We will take a break. Be back with What's the Buzz?
- 1:01:13Speaker 11: You know just what the right things are to do
- 1:01:20Speaker 11: Your actions move me But your attitude, it makes me
- 1:01:25Speaker 11: so confused You lead me on in the right direction
- 1:01:30Speaker 11: And you lay me down for the protection.
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: Ain't gonna mean your sacrifice Just.
- 1:01:34Speaker 5: A few words, it might sound nice It ain't.
- 1:01:36Speaker 11: No use in playing games I'm wanting you, do you
- 1:01:39Speaker 11: feel the same? When it comes down to the bottom
- 1:01:42Speaker 11: line I really gotta know I'm wasting.
- 1:01:43Speaker 5: Time If you want my love, say it, say it Now, darling,

- 1:02:38Speaker 10: Choosing a family movie is tough. It seems like all
- 1:02:40Speaker 10: Hollywood can do is make mindless drivel that rots kids' brains.
- 1:02:44Speaker 10: Who wants to see a movie like.
- 1:02:45Speaker 9: What my dad watched when he was a kid. Those
- 1:02:48Speaker 9: films are so boring and the special effects are horrible.
- 1:02:51Speaker 9: The movies he grew up with are.
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: Sometimes a big surprise. I at times feel uncomfortable watching
- 1:02:57Speaker 3: movies I loved when I was younger with my own
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: kids because I forgot how much cursing, sex, and violence
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: they showed back then.
- 1:03:03Speaker 9: All we want to do is watch a fun movie
- 1:03:05Speaker 9: that we all like.

- 1:03:19Speaker 3: Old childhood favorites.
- 1:03:21Speaker 10: Cult and foreign films.
- 1:03:23Speaker 5: And Godzilla.
- 1:03:24Speaker 9: So check out Family Movie Night on the web at fmnpodcast.com.
- 1:03:28Speaker 9: Or find us on iTunes.
- 1:03:29Speaker 4: Bye. We are family. We are family.
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: Hello, this is Sonny Landon.
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: Welcoming you to Movie Meltdown.
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: This is a chopper!
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: It's part of your problem, you know.
- 1:04:06Speaker 10: You haven't seen enough movies.
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: All of life's riddles are answered in the movies. And now,
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: on with the show. Ever since the day I met you.
- 1:04:34Speaker 13: I knew that you were the one for me.
- 1:04:46Speaker 11: I knew you had me shaking all over You stir
- 1:04:53Speaker 11: me up now can't you.
- 1:04:55Speaker 14: See Oh, shake it up I forgot to say.
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: That I spent- I sat and watched all of Sean
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: Patrick Flannery's twit videos. And he's the biggest dork in
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: the entire world, and I'm so... His what video? Twit video.
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: That's for Twitter. Did you see the video of him?
- 1:05:28Speaker 3: I guess it's his sister's cat, I guess.
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: Oh, my God. I watched... Yeah, you sent a couple
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: to me, and I... He's such a dork.
- 1:05:36Speaker 3: And the dog, him and the donut. His dog's name's Donut.
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: You get to watch it. His dog's slightly trained, but
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: he still doesn't really listen to him that much. But
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: he still feels the need to shoot videos of him
- 1:05:50Speaker 3: doing quote-unquote tricks. All right. Buzz.
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: We're back with What's the Buzz?
- 1:05:57Speaker 12: So, yeah, this one I had to throw out there
- 1:06:01Speaker 12: just to see what your take on it was.
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: As of this week.
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: The rights to the fifth movie in the Terminator franchise
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: were shopped around the studios with Arnold Schwarzenegger attached to star.
- 1:06:22Speaker 3: Who fucking cares anymore?
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: It's going to take place in an old folks home. Yeah,
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: I was like, really?
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: I didn't see the last movie.
- 1:06:31Speaker 8: Maybe this one's going to be he takes down the
- 1:06:34Speaker 8: world by destroying the.
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: Economy of California. Word. Well, he's getting out of that.
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: That's why he can make all these movies.
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: I think he just learned to fight the system from
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: the inside. That's what it should be about.
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: So is he going to be the hero or villain
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: in this? No telling. He has to be the hero.
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: I'm sure. That's the thing.
- 1:06:54Speaker 3: Maybe it'll be a twist if he's the villain. Maybe
- 1:06:57Speaker 3: they'll get some M. Night Shyamalan shit up in there.
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: That was the awesome thing about the second one is
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: they found something new to do with it. Granted, that's
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: really the last time we've done anything useful with the series,
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: but I don't know. I still haven't watched the fourth one, so.
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: I didn't see the third one. There was a fourth one?
- 1:07:13Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, that's right. There was a fourth one. I
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: forgot all about that.
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: That shit crazy rant. Come on.
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. The third one really disappointed me. It's just,
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: there's nothing to it. I just kind of quit watching
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: it after the second one. The second one was good.
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: The second one's great, but, I mean, the third one's
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: just a rehash of the second one only with some
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: different actors. I mean, it's... It's.
- 1:07:34Speaker 3: Hannah Loken and her thinking she can get more fucking
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: money than she's worth. Fuck her.
- 1:07:38Speaker 4: Who?
- 1:07:38Speaker 3: Christiana Lohan.
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: I'm saying her name all wrong.
- 1:07:40Speaker 3: I don't know what the fuck her name is. The
- 1:07:42Speaker 3: blonde chick who was at the convention who was charging
- 1:07:46Speaker 3: more than everybody else and nobody knew who the fuck
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: she was.
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: That's really the only difference is, well, let's make a
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: girl Terminator. Like, that was the... Oh my god! That's
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: what got it approved at the table there. Next it's
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: gonna be a kid Terminator. Yeah, I know. It's just...
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: Baby Terminator.
- 1:08:01Speaker 3: It's gonna be one of the fanning sisters.
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: Ooh, that could be interesting. It could be a girl
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: and a kid. That could be interesting. Well, they... That's
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: the thing. It's like how... Mostly I wanted to address,
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: aside from the fact that, number one, are they going
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: to explain the fact that this machine is now a
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: 63-year-old man? Like, why is a machine aging? Are they
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: going to explain... CG! CG.
- 1:08:24Speaker 6: They will CG his wrinkles away.
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: Guess they will.
- 1:08:28Speaker 3: What's his face in Tron?
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:08:31Speaker 3: I hated that.
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: That scared me so bad. Retroactively Jeff Bridges-ing. I just think.
- 1:08:36Speaker 8: I still don't, I mean, the whole time travel thing,
- 1:08:39Speaker 8: looping and looping, and people, just send somebody back really
- 1:08:43Speaker 8: fucking early and blow the shit out of everybody.
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: It should have been over a long time ago. That
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: was my other point, and that was probably the bigger one,
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: aside from, okay, it's Hollywood, we're going to skate by
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: the fact that he's getting older. This happens in series
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: all the time, and they just don't address it, because
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: people know the star, they don't care.
- 1:08:59Speaker 3: But, I mean.
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: at what point If, in fact, this time travel universe
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: were real, would this universe fucking collapse on itself? Because
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: all the shit they keep going back. They've looped back
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: around so many times. Especially if you factor in the
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: TV series, which not everybody likes, but I've heard pretty interesting.
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: I only saw a couple episodes, but I heard they
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: actually follow through with a pretty... straightforward storyline of the
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: time arc in the TV series. So if you factor
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: that into this universe of five movies, a season, something
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: of a TV series, and now, you know, moving on
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: into more movies down the line, It's like they've messed
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: things up so many times, looped back around, brought the
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: same people back in for different situations, keep sending robots
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: back and I'm just like... Nobody listens to Doc Brown. How?
- 1:09:46Speaker 4: Yeah, really?
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: Don't they have a chalkboard in that universe? Can't they
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: explain how things are going to get fucked up?
- 1:09:52Speaker 3: No.
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: Oh, I don't know. I'm just like, this universe would
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: have shut down about Terminator 3, I'm pretty sure, so...
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: That's the part that becomes, if you want to go unbelievable,
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: I mean, not that I'm buying most of this. You know,
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: it's science fiction. I know that, but still. Even for
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: science fiction, there needs to be some sort of basis
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: in reality, and I think we're surpassing that.
- 1:10:13Speaker 8: Again, the loop of John Connor ever even existing breaks
- 1:10:16Speaker 8: in the first one.
- 1:10:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: You can't have that.
- 1:10:18Speaker 8: You can't have the guy that's sent back to help
- 1:10:20Speaker 8: him be the father.
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: Spoiler alert. From that point on, it changes everything from
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: that point on. Yeah, if he hadn't gone back in time,
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: how would he have ever even existed to facilitate the resistance?
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: It's like, what the fuck?
- 1:10:36Speaker 3: Why don't you shove your timeline continuum up your anus?
- 1:10:42Speaker 3: Forcibly insert it, sorry.
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:10:48Speaker 3: What is that from? She told me, unfortunately, I'm sorry,
- 1:10:50Speaker 3: my timeline continued. I'm on my anus.
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: I forgot. What was that from?
- 1:10:55Speaker 3: I just told you this yesterday.
- 1:10:56Speaker 2: You know I don't remember anything.
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: Donnie Darko.
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: Donnie Darko.
- 1:10:59Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: Oh, that's right. Oh, it's no S.
- 1:11:03Speaker 7: Darko.
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: That would be suck. Yeah, does that stand for suck?
- 1:11:09Speaker 3: Sucky Darko?
- 1:11:11Speaker 2: The thing that's probably not going to save this next
- 1:11:15Speaker 2: Terminator movie, director has chosen to be Justin Lin. who
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: would be the director of the last three Fast and
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: Furious movies. Oh, it would be awesome to have Vin
- 1:11:25Speaker 2: Diesel in it. Vin Diesel can be a Terminator. Hell yeah,
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: I'd buy him as a Terminator. He'd come back as
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: a combination of Riddick Terminator.
- 1:11:32Speaker 3: I saw a video online. He used to do instructional
- 1:11:34Speaker 3: videos for brick dancing. Vin Diesel.
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: Wow.
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: I saw some of them.
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: Now, I'll give Justin Lim credit. Ever since I saw
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: that trailer, and we said this last night, I was like,
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: all right, we should have skipped The Earnest and gone
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: to watch Fast Five, because that looks entertaining. I'm not
- 1:11:50Speaker 2: going to say it's not dumb, and I haven't watched
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: the last three in the series, but Fast Five looks
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: pretty damn entertaining. And it's mostly The Rock. The Rock
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: looks pretty... He's so fun. You've got to love The Rock.
- 1:12:03Speaker 3: I do.
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: And he's freaking huge now.
- 1:12:05Speaker 3: What the hell?
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: He's bigger than when he was wrestling. What has happened
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: to that man? He's giant.
- 1:12:09Speaker 3: He's one of the few that's made a successful crossover
- 1:12:12Speaker 3: into acting.
- 1:12:13Speaker 8: He very soon can just be Dwayne Johnson.
- 1:12:16Speaker 2: Well, he kind of is. I mean, I don't think
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: he can use The Rock anymore, but people still refer
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: to him as The Rock. So, yeah, he's definitely crossed
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: over and is way more talented than anybody ever saw coming.
- 1:12:29Speaker 3: I like him because he doesn't take himself too damn seriously.
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: My mom has a crush on him.
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: And he's fucking funny. He does.
- 1:12:34Speaker 3: He does have a really good sense of... And I
- 1:12:36Speaker 3: still like Southland Tales. Screw you all. I didn't dislike it.
- 1:12:40Speaker 3: Everybody talks shit about that movie.
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: I have issues with it. I'm not going to say
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: it's totally bad.
- 1:12:45Speaker 8: It's a mess, but there's so much good in it,
- 1:12:48Speaker 8: you can't say it's bad.
- 1:12:49Speaker 3: I will fully acknowledge it's a mess. It's a fucking
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: train wreck, but it's a fun train wreck. It's like, yay!
- 1:12:53Speaker 3: It's like a clown car of train wrecks.
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: It's definitely got its moments of fun. And it's moments of, what? Stifler.
- 1:12:59Speaker 2: We're not going to talk about that. That's a whole
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: other issue. So, yeah, I don't know. So, yeah, sidetrack.
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: You know, talking.
- 1:13:08Speaker 6: About bringing back sequels of stuff and having people being
- 1:13:13Speaker 6: old and coming back and trying to work them in,
- 1:13:15Speaker 6: how are they going to do this with Bill and
- 1:13:16Speaker 6: Ted's Excellent Adventure? Because you know Keanu Reeves and Alex
- 1:13:20Speaker 6: Winters are old as the fucking hills.
- 1:13:22Speaker 12: Old.
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:13:24Speaker 3: Are they playing, like, retirement homes?
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: Yeah. That's what I said before when they brought that up.
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: I was just like, well, we've seen... Are they going
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: to be passing the baton to a new Bill and Ted?
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: We've seen the future, so unless they do a Terminator
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: and fuck up the past somehow, the future should be perfect.
- 1:13:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: So if they're playing it now, it would be the
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: perfect future. So unless they're just sitting around strumming their
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: hands in a circle... That's the only thing that happens
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: in the future. Maybe it's the future and something fucks
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: up that future. And they're going to have to go
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: even more into the past.
- 1:13:53Speaker 3: George Carlin Dine.
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: Fucked up their future. Yeah, you know, that's the thing
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: that's going to kill it for me is there's no
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: Carlin in it. It's your kids, Ted. You've got to
- 1:14:01Speaker 2: do something about your kids. So, yeah, maybe they go
- 1:14:05Speaker 2: forward into the future. I don't know. There's CG Carlin.
- 1:14:09Speaker 2: They could bring them back. Oh, God. I thought they
- 1:14:12Speaker 2: said they were not going to write Carlin into it.
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: So I prefer that, really.
- 1:14:16Speaker 6: I'm going to see it because I saw Bill and Ted's.
- 1:14:19Speaker 6: I actually got to see it before it came out
- 1:14:21Speaker 6: in theaters because my friend's dad worked at a movie theater.
- 1:14:24Speaker 6: and we got to pre-screen it, which was cool.
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: And I've always been a fan of that, just because
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: of the stupidity of it. Well, and again, it's kind
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: of like the peewee thing. It's kind of dumbed down
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: for some of the jokes, and then some of the
- 1:14:37Speaker 2: stuff is really smart. But, dude, that was me growing up.
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: I was a complete loser, slacker, you know, whoa, nobody
- 1:14:44Speaker 2: likes us, you know, kind of deal. Going to get
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: sent to military school.
- 1:14:47Speaker 7: Exactly.
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: Well, actually, I begged my dad to send me to
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: military school, and he wouldn't. That's a spinster!
- 1:14:52Speaker 5: Or the military.
- 1:14:53Speaker 2: No, he didn't want me to have anything to do
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: with the military. Because he was. Yeah, he was. It's
- 1:14:57Speaker 2: usually either or. They're pushing towards it. Yeah, it's usually
- 1:14:59Speaker 2: the other way around. You're going to have nothing to
- 1:15:01Speaker 2: do with it. So, yeah. Skateboarding, punk rock, and girls
- 1:15:04Speaker 2: ruined the military for me.
- 1:15:07Speaker 3: And flat feet.
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: And flat feet. They don't give a fuck anymore. Hell,
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: they'll take people with neck tattoos now.
- 1:15:13Speaker 3: You're legally blind.
- 1:15:14Speaker 2: Well, they don't care about that either. So, they'll give
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: me a pair of BCDs and send me on my way.
- 1:15:19Speaker 7: So.
- 1:15:20Speaker 3: But yeah, Bill and Ted is one of the very
- 1:15:22Speaker 3: few movies that I can tolerate Keanu Reeves in.
- 1:15:25Speaker 2: He's got his moments. I mean, we've watched River's Edge.
- 1:15:28Speaker 2: He's good. He's good in The Gift. I mean, I'm
- 1:15:31Speaker 2: trying to think. Oh, again, Parenthood. I think he does.
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: It's one shade away from Ted, but again, it shows
- 1:15:37Speaker 2: he can. Johnny Mnemonic. Oh, maybe I'm alone on this one. Wait,
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: you're on the wrong side of the book.
- 1:15:42Speaker 3: Yeah, he's been trying. He's like, dude, we have to
- 1:15:44Speaker 3: watch Honey Mnemonic. I'm like, no.
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: Come on.
- 1:15:46Speaker 5: Why not?
- 1:15:46Speaker 2: It's got Henry Rollins and Dolph Lundgren in it. Dolph Lundgren.
- 1:15:49Speaker 2: I would watch it for the show. I'm not going
- 1:15:51Speaker 2: to say I'm going to like it, but I would
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: watch it because we would have a lot to say
- 1:15:54Speaker 2: about that one. Oh, we would have so much to
- 1:15:55Speaker 2: say about it. Oh, but yeah. Sad track. Several times over.
- 1:16:01Speaker 2: But yeah, the Terminator thing, they said they're... Oh, that's
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: what we were talking about. Yeah, 14 times ago when
- 1:16:06Speaker 2: we switched gears. We've got to sort of jump back
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: in the time continuum. One of the other sources said
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: they're actually considering reuniting the original cast. So, like, bring
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: him back Linda Hamilton? Are you going to, like, time
- 1:16:20Speaker 2: warp in Michael Biehn?
- 1:16:22Speaker 3: Bring him back Edward Furlong's loaded ass?
- 1:16:25Speaker 2: I haven't seen Edward Furlong. Again, but that's not the
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: original cast. So that would leave out, there's no kid then.
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: They keep working in John in the new movies, but
- 1:16:33Speaker 2: if they go original cast, you don't have to worry
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: about John. I would think at that point you'd need
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: James Cameron and then it would be... Which I don't
- 1:16:40Speaker 2: think he wants anything to do with it anymore. Why not?
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: He can do anything he wants to. That's what I'm saying.
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: I mean, as much as he improved on himself the
- 1:16:48Speaker 2: first time... Possibly the third one and the fourth one
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: tainted it for him. He just doesn't want to have any... Yeah,
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: I mean, he didn't... I mean, he worked himself out
- 1:16:55Speaker 2: of the third one. I think he still, like, listed his, like,
- 1:16:58Speaker 2: story and, you know... The basic producer stuff that I
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: guess he has to sign off on.
- 1:17:02Speaker 6: One of those things, if it gets taken by somebody else,
- 1:17:04Speaker 6: and you're just sitting there going, dude, they fucking ruined this.
- 1:17:07Speaker 6: I made two fucking awesome movies, and you just fucking
- 1:17:10Speaker 6: ruined it.
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: Fuck you. I don't want to have anything to do
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: with that.
- 1:17:12Speaker 8: Well, maybe, but if he could come back in and
- 1:17:14Speaker 8: wipe the slate clean and say, don't even watch those
- 1:17:17Speaker 8: other two.
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: Literally time warp and take those out of the picture. Possibly, yeah.
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: Pull a Star Trek and say, fuck those other two. Exactly.
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: You can do that with this timeline.
- 1:17:25Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:17:26Speaker 3: And the Romulans are going to come in and fuck
- 1:17:27Speaker 3: up Terminator shit. They should do that.
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: Damn Romulans. That would be cool.
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: I think they need to make a movie that's like
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: every sci-fi movie, like a legit movie and not a parody,
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: that's like every sci-fi movie, like Crossing.
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: Battle Royale.
- 1:17:41Speaker 8: I always wanted like 2010 to actually be Hal comes
- 1:17:45Speaker 8: back and fucks shit up.
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: He's like, y'all shut me down.
- 1:17:48Speaker 6: Do you know how much of a nerd-fest argument that
- 1:17:51Speaker 6: would start?
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. I mean, it still does. The internet would
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: kick the alien's ass. Uh-uh, Luke Skywalker would come in
- 1:17:58Speaker 2: with a lightsaber. The internet would break. No, the fucking
- 1:18:01Speaker 2: Klingons would... I'm pretty sure that's what the internet was
- 1:18:04Speaker 2: invented for, was to have those arguments.
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: It would just break.
- 1:18:07Speaker 2: The internet would break.
- 1:18:07Speaker 3: Would you just tuck your phone into your bra?
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: That's kind of where I keep it.
- 1:18:12Speaker 2: Yeah, she keeps stuff there. It's kind of like a.
- 1:18:14Speaker 3: Can of dip. It's like a cigarette girl.
- 1:18:18Speaker 2: So she's going to have the dip ring. She's going
- 1:18:20Speaker 2: to have a little rectangle. I'm sorry.
- 1:18:23Speaker 3: That just caught me off guard.
- 1:18:25Speaker 2: She has to wear a jean blouse. She can definitely
- 1:18:27Speaker 2: feel it vibrate up there.
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: Yeah, it did.
- 1:18:29Speaker 3: It just vibrated.
- 1:18:30Speaker 2: That's what we can see. That's where I put it
- 1:18:32Speaker 2: when I'm at the gym. I tuck it underneath my.
- 1:18:34Speaker 5: Sports bra strap.
- 1:18:44Speaker 2: You're missing the working out hand motions. When you're promoting
- 1:18:48Speaker 2: this episode, you're going to have to talk about it.
- 1:18:50Speaker 8: Vibrating female chest because it's going to sell the show
- 1:18:54Speaker 8: right there.
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: Are you doing the elliptical machine or is that the
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: stair stepper?
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: It's a combination of, it's this really cool machine that's
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: like you can run on it and And it's also
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: like an elliptical machine.
- 1:19:04Speaker 3: It also stares.
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: It's like three in one.
- 1:19:05Speaker 2: Is it like a glider? I've got one underneath the bed.
- 1:19:07Speaker 2: It's got a lot of things all over it.
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: It is a glider, but it also stares.
- 1:19:11Speaker 2: You don't have to go to the gym. Gazelle.
- 1:19:14Speaker 3: Tony Little approves.
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: I love the gazelle.
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: Don't you hate having to get on three separate machines?
- 1:19:19Speaker 3: Exactly. Well, now.
- 1:19:21Speaker 8: I need one that says, don't you hate exercise equipment
- 1:19:24Speaker 8: underneath your bed?
- 1:19:25Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly. That's what ours is. I can move the shotgun.
- 1:19:28Speaker 2: It's taking up space.
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: I mean, but seriously, though, I've been going to the
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: gym for, like, the last every day, or not every day, but, like,
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: four days a week for the last three weeks, and, like,
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: my legs, like, the tone in my legs has, it's just, like,
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: 50% improvement.
- 1:19:42Speaker 3: I need to go to the gym. I've got big
- 1:19:43Speaker 3: old thundersides.
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: I mean, my legs are still big, but they're, like,
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: really toned now, like... They've always been really muscular.
- 1:19:49Speaker 3: Cory needs to keep in shape.
- 1:19:50Speaker 2: I don't want him to, like, go soft. Like, saggy Cory.
- 1:19:53Speaker 2: He's gonna get all puffy, like, in life. He'll come
- 1:19:55Speaker 2: back up after a while.
- 1:19:56Speaker 6: That's true.
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: Some of that might have been drugs, but... You're just
- 1:20:00Speaker 2: gonna have to start injecting.
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: Your leg with heroin right there.
- 1:20:06Speaker 3: He was clean.
- 1:20:07Speaker 2: Towards the end, he was clean.
- 1:20:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:20:10Speaker 2: Mostly.
- 1:20:10Speaker 3: He totally was. Dude. All right, what were we talking
- 1:20:17Speaker 3: about again?
- 1:20:17Speaker 2: Oh, let's move on before something horrible happens. Now, this
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: one we brought up in the past, but I wanted
- 1:20:23Speaker 2: to see what you thought of their new finalized main casting.
- 1:20:27Speaker 2: We talked a long time ago about them trying to
- 1:20:30Speaker 2: put together a Lone Ranger movie. And Tonto has been
- 1:20:34Speaker 2: set for well over a year now as Johnny Depp.
- 1:20:36Speaker 2: But it's like, okay, how do you balance out that duo?
- 1:20:39Speaker 2: That is such a... I just think a slap in
- 1:20:41Speaker 2: the face Johnny Depp should not be. But they're saying it's... Well, wait.
- 1:20:45Speaker 2: A slap in the face to Johnny Depp or to
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: Native Americans? To Native Americans.
- 1:20:49Speaker 3: Well, he is part Cherokee.
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: He's a quarter Cherokee. So, I mean, that's pretty minimal.
- 1:20:53Speaker 2: Everybody calls themselves a quarter Cherokee.
- 1:20:56Speaker 3: Yeah, I do too.
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: Is he the only semi-Native American actor we have in America?
- 1:21:00Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:21:00Speaker 2: Yes, we do. What happened to Lou Diamond Phillips? Is
- 1:21:04Speaker 2: he even? I thought he was partial, too. He always plays.
- 1:21:07Speaker 2: He always plays. Dude, fucking get Steven Seagal. Steven Seagal
- 1:21:11Speaker 2: played an Indian in fucking some other movie. He couldn't
- 1:21:13Speaker 2: get on a horse.
- 1:21:14Speaker 5: All right.
- 1:21:14Speaker 2: Punch a horse in the throat. He can't lift his
- 1:21:16Speaker 2: leg that high to get on a horse.
- 1:21:21Speaker 3: He's like Mongo now.
- 1:21:22Speaker 2: He punches ass horses. Steven Seagal.
- 1:21:24Speaker 13: Ate the horse.
- 1:21:24Speaker 2: There's got to be a more Native American. You would think.
- 1:21:28Speaker 3: What about that.
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: Guy from the Twilight movies.
- 1:21:39Speaker 3: What about Sharkboy?
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: Isn't he Native American?
- 1:21:40Speaker 5: Yeah, that's true.
- 1:21:41Speaker 2: What about him? I'm signing off to say... See, but
- 1:21:44Speaker 2: I was thinking that.
- 1:21:45Speaker 3: I knew that one.
- 1:21:47Speaker 2: I was thinking Johnny Depp's pretty old now, but then
- 1:21:50Speaker 2: I was like, wasn't Tonto quite a bit older than
- 1:21:52Speaker 2: the Lone Ranger on the show? So I was like,
- 1:21:54Speaker 2: maybe they're just trying to match up and, I don't know,
- 1:21:57Speaker 2: Graham Greene's way too old. I don't know.
- 1:22:00Speaker 3: What is Sonny Landon? Has he got Nandy and him
- 1:22:02Speaker 3: on him to do it?
- 1:22:04Speaker 2: I believe he is. No, I don't know if he is, actually.
- 1:22:08Speaker 2: I think he played it very well, but I think
- 1:22:11Speaker 2: when I looked up, you know, when I was doing
- 1:22:13Speaker 2: research when we talked to him, I don't know that
- 1:22:15Speaker 2: he's even Native American. I think he was just playing.
- 1:22:17Speaker 3: I just want him to do it so I can
- 1:22:18Speaker 3: hear him do that laugh.
- 1:22:19Speaker 2: That laugh is awesome. Danny Trejo's played a lot of
- 1:22:22Speaker 2: Native Americans. That's true. He plays several options. He's good
- 1:22:27Speaker 2: with a knife. Or a machete. Have we seen him
- 1:22:31Speaker 2: use a bow and arrow? I don't know. That would
- 1:22:33Speaker 2: be cool. That would be awesome. I'm sure he can.
- 1:22:36Speaker 2: If not, we'll train him. Would he get on a horse, though?
- 1:22:40Speaker 3: Just as long as it's not Shia LaBeouf. Why would
- 1:22:44Speaker 3: he be an Indian?
- 1:22:45Speaker 2: Don't cast him in anything at this point.
- 1:22:47Speaker 3: Alright, who's going to play the Lone Ranger?
- 1:22:49Speaker 2: The Lone Ranger.
- 1:22:50Speaker 3: It's not going to be Seth Rogen.
- 1:22:52Speaker 2: I'm not even sure. I don't think you've even seen this. Greg,
- 1:22:57Speaker 2: I know you've seen it. It's someone from the social network.
- 1:23:00Speaker 2: Do you remember the Winklevoss twins? Oh, yeah, the big guy.
- 1:23:04Speaker 2: The big blonde dude's Armie Hammer.
- 1:23:06Speaker 3: That's a fucking awesome name right there.
- 1:23:08Speaker 2: It is an awesome name.
- 1:23:09Speaker 3: The awesomest name I've ever heard.
- 1:23:10Speaker 2: He should be a wrestler. I don't know about this
- 1:23:11Speaker 2: acting career.
- 1:23:12Speaker 3: Is that his real name?
- 1:23:13Speaker 2: Armie Hammer. Armie Hammer. That's awesome. So he is supposedly
- 1:23:16Speaker 2: supposed to take on the role of the... Which, again,
- 1:23:19Speaker 2: they're getting a pretty boy, but then they're going to
- 1:23:21Speaker 2: cover his face most of the movie. What the hell
- 1:23:23Speaker 2: is that? You might as well just get an ugly
- 1:23:24Speaker 2: actor if you're going to cover his face.
- 1:23:26Speaker 3: The whole movie. So they could put Shia LaBeouf in there.
- 1:23:27Speaker 2: There you go. I don't know what the hat hit
- 1:23:30Speaker 2: fit on his head. It'll just stick up on his hair.
- 1:23:34Speaker 2: His crazy hair. Isn't the world really needing a loan?
- 1:23:40Speaker 2: That's the other one I was going to ask. The
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: same question I ask about all these reboots and updates.
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: Is this generation going to care about a loan?
- 1:23:48Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 1:23:48Speaker 2: I mean, when I was a kid, Yeah, I still
- 1:23:50Speaker 2: played Cowboys and Indians growing up. Yeah. But even then,
- 1:23:53Speaker 2: it was already dated. Yeah, even then, we were moving
- 1:23:56Speaker 2: on into World War II. It was like, yeah, it
- 1:23:57Speaker 2: was like what my dad saw when he was a kid,
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: you know? So it's like, even by our generation, it
- 1:24:02Speaker 2: was like, oh. I was busy playing, you know, D-Day
- 1:24:06Speaker 2: and shit.
- 1:24:08Speaker 6: My one dumb neighbor, he was always a Nazi, so
- 1:24:10Speaker 6: we hated him.
- 1:24:11Speaker 2: You're the Nazi.
- 1:24:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:24:12Speaker 2: How come I always have to be the Nazi?
- 1:24:14Speaker 3: Shut up.
- 1:24:14Speaker 2: We're going to shoot you now.
- 1:24:17Speaker 4: Bastards!
- 1:24:18Speaker 2: So, yeah, I just don't know if there's a... I mean,
- 1:24:22Speaker 2: how will it go over? Is it going to be
- 1:24:24Speaker 2: another one of those that gets a lot of... Slapsticky bullshit? Well,
- 1:24:27Speaker 2: that or... I don't think so. Is there going to
- 1:24:30Speaker 2: be a talking horse? That's the thing. I didn't know
- 1:24:32Speaker 2: who was doing it. It's... Gore Bavinsky is directing, which,
- 1:24:35Speaker 2: I mean, he's done the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. Like,
- 1:24:38Speaker 2: he's got a really good visual style. I mean, he...
- 1:24:41Speaker 2: At least the first one of that series, he can
- 1:24:43Speaker 2: deliver a fun, action-oriented movie. So I'm just like, It
- 1:24:46Speaker 2: could go well, but I'm just like, I don't know
- 1:24:48Speaker 2: if anybody's going to care. Like, is it going to
- 1:24:50Speaker 2: find that market? Is there that? I mean, Pirates may
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: either come back. Maybe there is a cowboy market that
- 1:24:55Speaker 2: could come back in that. Possibly. I don't know. I mean,
- 1:24:58Speaker 2: it came out with, what's coming out now? Cowboys vs.
- 1:25:00Speaker 7: Aliens.
- 1:25:01Speaker 2: Cowboys vs. Aliens.
- 1:25:02Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean.
- 1:25:02Speaker 2: That's going to be good, I think.
- 1:25:04Speaker 3: I'm excited about it. Yeah.
- 1:25:05Speaker 2: I'm still waiting for the Cowboys and Ninjas movie. Did
- 1:25:07Speaker 2: it already come out? Did I miss it? What's the
- 1:25:10Speaker 2: one that's out there? Robots and Ninjas? Robot vs. Ninja. Yeah,
- 1:25:13Speaker 2: that's on Netflix. I keep going, man, I think I
- 1:25:15Speaker 2: need a lot of that.
- 1:25:16Speaker 3: No, Ninja vs. Alien. We've watched the trailer.
- 1:25:17Speaker 2: That's the one.
- 1:25:18Speaker 6: No, I'm talking about the Cowboy and Ninja movie.
- 1:25:21Speaker 2: The one where the guy comes from, he's trying to
- 1:25:23Speaker 2: escape the Ninja clan, and he comes over to the
- 1:25:26Speaker 2: United States, and he's working, and there's a bunch of
- 1:25:29Speaker 2: cowboys in it. Yeah, I remember that. Shanghai Nuge. Yeah,
- 1:25:31Speaker 2: that was awesome. But it's kind of like, the thing
- 1:25:34Speaker 2: looks awesome.
- 1:25:35Speaker 6: It looks really good, but then I Somehow it fell
- 1:25:37Speaker 6: off my radar, and I don't know if it ever
- 1:25:39Speaker 6: came out.
- 1:25:40Speaker 2: Does anybody know? If anybody knows, please say something. Yeah,
- 1:25:43Speaker 2: we'll have to check into it. We don't have either.
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: We'll add it to the end. We do. We're too
- 1:25:46Speaker 2: damn lazy. We're too damn lazy. We'll just get sidetracked.
- 1:25:51Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:25:51Speaker 2: What was it? Don't you hate trying to look stuff
- 1:25:53Speaker 2: up on Google? God, it's such a hassle. Google Master 5000. Yeah.
- 1:25:58Speaker 2: For Ronco.
- 1:25:59Speaker 8: So a pad of paper and a pen for people
- 1:26:01Speaker 8: to write down their ideas.
- 1:26:03Speaker 2: It's specifically for Google. Don't you hate when you mean
- 1:26:06Speaker 2: to Google something, but you've got to wait until you
- 1:26:08Speaker 2: get home to Google it, so. here's a patent paper
- 1:26:11Speaker 2: write that shit down $ 20 for a patent paper if
- 1:26:15Speaker 2: you act now we'll throw in another patent paper sponsored
- 1:26:19Speaker 2: by 3M so yeah I don't know that was just
- 1:26:23Speaker 2: one that they finalized the casting I was just like
- 1:26:26Speaker 2: well I guess I mean he didn't seem like a
- 1:26:28Speaker 2: terrible actor so Who knows? It's one of those movies
- 1:26:31Speaker 2: that will just be, it'll come out, and if it's good, yeah,
- 1:26:33Speaker 2: we might watch it. I just don't know that it's
- 1:26:36Speaker 2: going to be huge. There's so many that are big
- 1:26:38Speaker 2: budget studio pictures at this point that just kind of
- 1:26:41Speaker 2: float by, and they might open at $ 20 million, and
- 1:26:43Speaker 2: then they go straight to DVD. It feels like it
- 1:26:46Speaker 2: might be one of those, another one of those that
- 1:26:48Speaker 2: gets a huge push, but doesn't necessarily find a super
- 1:26:52Speaker 2: audience that gets behind it.
- 1:26:53Speaker 8: If they make it a summer blockbuster, and then roll...
- 1:26:59Speaker 8: Halloween costumes into it a few months.
- 1:27:01Speaker 2: Later that might hit big.
- 1:27:03Speaker 1: Maybe.
- 1:27:03Speaker 2: I think that's what the kind of pirates think. Everybody
- 1:27:06Speaker 2: went as a pirate for Halloween. But then again, you know,
- 1:27:10Speaker 2: you've got to think about it.
- 1:27:12Speaker 6: You've got the Lone Ranger and you've got his cowboys.
- 1:27:17Speaker 6: Like you said, Brian, who's going to really care at
- 1:27:19Speaker 6: this point? What's the villain going to be? How are
- 1:27:21Speaker 6: you going to outdo cowboys? They don't have superpowers.
- 1:27:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:27:24Speaker 6: They're not going to be fighting aliens. Who are they
- 1:27:26Speaker 6: going to fight? They can't fight the Indians. They can't
- 1:27:29Speaker 6: fight the Mexicans. It's just a bad guy and a
- 1:27:31Speaker 6: black cat. It's going to be a mustache twirler.
- 1:27:35Speaker 2: It'll have to be the system.
- 1:27:36Speaker 8: It'll be the oil man.
- 1:27:39Speaker 2: What's it going to be?
- 1:27:41Speaker 3: Giant spiders.
- 1:27:43Speaker 2: Trying to run the railroad through and they're screwing people
- 1:27:46Speaker 2: over and working people from China.
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: Irish people.
- 1:27:50Speaker 2: We've got to save all the some rancher. It's not
- 1:27:55Speaker 2: going to be, yeah, it's going to be totally PC.
- 1:27:57Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:27:57Speaker 2: Unless they have to fight the burrowers, which that would
- 1:27:59Speaker 2: be awesome. No, hey, no, I would watch that movie.
- 1:28:00Speaker 2: That would be cool. The Lone Razor versus the burrowers.
- 1:28:02Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:28:02Speaker 2: I'm going to have to get hold of JT.
- 1:28:03Speaker 5: Burrow house.
- 1:28:03Speaker 3: Burrow house. Burrow house.
- 1:28:04Speaker 2: Burrow house. Burrow house. Burrow house. Burrow house.
- 1:28:05Speaker 7: Burrow house.
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: Burrow house.
- 1:28:06Speaker 3: Burrow house. Burrow house.
- 1:28:07Speaker 2: Burrow house. Burrow house. Burrow house.
- 1:28:08Speaker 3: Burrow house.
- 1:28:08Speaker 7: Burrow house.
- 1:28:09Speaker 2: Burrow house. Burrow house. Burrow house.
- 1:28:10Speaker 3: Burrow house. Burrow house. Burrow house. Burrow house.
- 1:28:12Speaker 12: Burrow house.
- 1:28:12Speaker 2: Burrow house.
- 1:28:13Speaker 3: Burrow house.
- 1:28:13Speaker 4: Burrow house.
- 1:28:14Speaker 5: Burrow house.
- 1:28:14Speaker 3: Burrow house.
- 1:28:14Speaker 2: Burrow house.
- 1:28:15Speaker 3: Burrow house. Burrow house.
- 1:28:16Speaker 2: Burrow house. Burrow house.
- 1:28:17Speaker 3: Burrow house.
- 1:28:18Speaker 2: Burrow house All right, so the only other one that
- 1:28:21Speaker 2: was sort of interesting this time out, they said, Universal
- 1:28:24Speaker 2: Pictures is in talks with Jeff Bridges to join the
- 1:28:27Speaker 2: supernatural comedy R.I.P.D. based on the comic book series of
- 1:28:31Speaker 2: the same name published by Dark Horse since 1999, which
- 1:28:36Speaker 2: I looked up. It looks kind of interesting. I hadn't
- 1:28:40Speaker 2: really seen much on it, but no surprise who the
- 1:28:43Speaker 2: star is. He's the star of every movie.
- 1:28:45Speaker 3: Seth Rogen?
- 1:28:46Speaker 2: Ryan Reynolds has been attached to Star for over a
- 1:28:49Speaker 2: year now. But again, I like this idea if they
- 1:28:52Speaker 2: don't screw it up.
- 1:28:53Speaker 3: Is he going to have his shirt off?
- 1:28:55Speaker 2: Probably most of the movies. As long as they don't
- 1:28:58Speaker 2: cover it up with bad green CGI. Yeah. So, in
- 1:29:02Speaker 2: this one, Reynolds will be playing a modern cop who
- 1:29:04Speaker 2: is brought back from the dead to work with a
- 1:29:06Speaker 2: special police force of undead detectives who investigate crimes involving
- 1:29:09Speaker 2: monsters and the supernatural. Robocop? Kind of. Spooky Robocop.
- 1:29:15Speaker 8: That's like Robocop becomes a zombie.
- 1:29:18Speaker 3: Yeah. Or.
- 1:29:21Speaker 2: Zombie Cop. Dead Heat? Let's watch Dead Heat. That's already
- 1:29:25Speaker 2: sort of on my list. We need to watch Dead Heat. But... Yeah,
- 1:29:29Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:29:29Speaker 8: How many graphic novel and comic book movies are we
- 1:29:32Speaker 8: going to get?
- 1:29:33Speaker 2: Especially the obscure ones. At what point will we run out?
- 1:29:36Speaker 2: They're going to tap into every single one. They're never
- 1:29:38Speaker 2: going to run out. Yeah, I mean, there's so many
- 1:29:40Speaker 2: indie little labels. Yeah, come on. It just goes to show.
- 1:29:48Speaker 8: Because we're going to have to pull from this pool
- 1:29:51Speaker 8: of stuff and just make a movie out of it.
- 1:29:53Speaker 8: I don't know if it's like creativity.
- 1:29:55Speaker 6: I think it's more of the fact that everybody's like,
- 1:29:57Speaker 6: holy shit, let's cash in on it.
- 1:29:59Speaker 2: Come on, let's cash in on it. And then everybody's
- 1:30:01Speaker 2: wanting to cash.
- 1:30:01Speaker 3: In on it.
- 1:30:02Speaker 2: I think it works both. And I think in a
- 1:30:03Speaker 2: way it can work to our advantage. I think number one,
- 1:30:06Speaker 2: it's the studios being lazy and wanting only things that
- 1:30:09Speaker 2: are proven properties. They only want sequels. They only want reboots.
- 1:30:12Speaker 2: They only want comic book movies. But on the other hand,
- 1:30:16Speaker 2: the people that are doing these little independent comics are
- 1:30:18Speaker 2: actually usually kind of talented. So if you're looking for
- 1:30:22Speaker 2: original ideas and talent, I would probably trust them going
- 1:30:26Speaker 2: with somebody who spent years working on their own independent
- 1:30:29Speaker 2: comic story than a bunch of hacks piecing together 20
- 1:30:33Speaker 2: writers slapping together some studio craft screenplay. I'd much rather them, like, especially, like,
- 1:30:39Speaker 2: support that independent comic scene and give these guys who
- 1:30:42Speaker 2: are doing it out of their basement, you know, give
- 1:30:45Speaker 2: them a couple million bucks and be like, you know, here, granted,
- 1:30:47Speaker 2: half the time they probably ruined their project, which sucks,
- 1:30:50Speaker 2: but the other times you get The Walking Dead, you know?
- 1:30:53Speaker 2: I mean, that was a comic that not that many
- 1:30:55Speaker 2: people knew. It had its following, but, like, mainstream, most
- 1:30:58Speaker 2: people probably had no idea what that was when they
- 1:31:00Speaker 2: turned it into a series. So it's like you get
- 1:31:02Speaker 2: stuff like that that's getting picked up now. Or, like,
- 1:31:05Speaker 2: The Goon. That's the one I'm thinking of. Have you
- 1:31:07Speaker 2: seen the trailer for The Goon?
- 1:31:09Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 1:31:09Speaker 2: Oh, my God, that looks good. And it's, yeah, The Goon.
- 1:31:13Speaker 2: Like Popeye? Well, the one guy looks a lot like Popeye,
- 1:31:16Speaker 2: but no, it's the independent comic, and it's kind of
- 1:31:19Speaker 2: the same storyline. It's about, like, these guys in this
- 1:31:22Speaker 2: town that's overrun with all these, like, monsters and zombies
- 1:31:25Speaker 2: and all this stuff, and there's Two of them, and
- 1:31:27Speaker 2: they take it upon themselves to go kick ass. They're
- 1:31:30Speaker 2: doing it as an animated project. Everybody involved is top-notch.
- 1:31:36Speaker 2: That is another one. Thank God they found an original
- 1:31:39Speaker 2: property and they gave it to talented people. Based on
- 1:31:44Speaker 2: the trailer, it still looks good. I still have such
- 1:31:46Speaker 2: high hopes for that one. That's another one of these ideas.
- 1:31:50Speaker 2: I would much rather them do stuff like that. If
- 1:31:53Speaker 2: they can sucker Jeff Bridges into it, I mean, that's
- 1:31:56Speaker 2: a huge name, especially in the last couple years. Yeah,
- 1:32:00Speaker 2: Oscar winner, I mean, you know, a couple of big movies.
- 1:32:03Speaker 2: It's like, that would be kind of interesting. Jeff Bridges
- 1:32:07Speaker 2: is supposed to be playing Reynolds' partner, who is an
- 1:32:09Speaker 2: old West gunslinger, again, tying into the cowboy theme, who's
- 1:32:13Speaker 2: been on the job for over 100 years. That's, again,
- 1:32:16Speaker 2: he could do it, like watching him in, you know,
- 1:32:18Speaker 2: True Grit. He could tap into something and do a
- 1:32:21Speaker 2: really good performance there. Maybe that is one of those things,
- 1:32:24Speaker 2: you know?
- 1:32:24Speaker 6: If Hollywood starts bringing back cowboy stuff, then everybody's like, oh,
- 1:32:30Speaker 6: that must.
- 1:32:30Speaker 2: Be cool now. They try. I mean, every couple years,
- 1:32:32Speaker 2: they keep trying to get another little push. There'll be, like,
- 1:32:35Speaker 2: one big one in the theater, there'll be one or
- 1:32:37Speaker 2: two that go straight to DVD, and, like, it never
- 1:32:39Speaker 2: really catches on. It's like.
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: I think it just, you know, everything goes in cycles.
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: You know, like, ninjas are the new pirates, and then zombies.
- 1:32:47Speaker 2: But I don't think cowboys really haven't fully caught on
- 1:32:50Speaker 2: since they were, you know, granddads thought they were cool. But,
- 1:32:53Speaker 2: I mean, even, like, The Closest was probably unforgiven. You know,
- 1:32:57Speaker 2: that put it in the mainstream, giving it an Oscar.
- 1:33:00Speaker 2: That was, but it was pretty unconventional as westerns go anyway. So,
- 1:33:03Speaker 2: I mean, it's like, it seems like it never fully
- 1:33:06Speaker 2: came back, but. It could. Again, if they push it,
- 1:33:08Speaker 2: if they, you know, Pirates of the Caribbean it up,
- 1:33:11Speaker 2: I mean, it could definitely come back around.
- 1:33:13Speaker 3: They just haven't had cowboys, though. They had Jonah Hex.
- 1:33:15Speaker 3: That was kind of cowboys.
- 1:33:17Speaker 2: Again, they tried.
- 1:33:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I think they just haven't had a good movie.
- 1:33:20Speaker 2: That was a lot more Wild Wild West than it was.
- 1:33:23Speaker 3: A lot more Megan Fox and her stupid-ass thumbs.
- 1:33:25Speaker 2: Yeah, that was not quite a legitimate try.
- 1:33:28Speaker 1: I mean, like, there's some really popular kind of, like,
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: cowboy type. video games and things like that. There are
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: people that are into it. I just don't think it's
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: been like mainstream.
- 1:33:36Speaker 6: There's like Red Dead Redemption that I can't say.
- 1:33:40Speaker 2: Really fast, three times. Red Dead Redemption.
- 1:33:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:33:43Speaker 2: They got them fighting zombies in that one too.
- 1:33:49Speaker 1: I was confused. I was watching my friend Ben play it,
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: and I was like, where are all the zombies? And
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: he was like, that's a different game.
- 1:33:56Speaker 2: No, every game has zombies, Sean.
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: Well, there's the undead one or whatever.
- 1:34:01Speaker 2: The undead redemption.
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: Yeah, but I was just confused because I'm like, Where
- 1:34:05Speaker 1: are all the zombies? He's like, this is not a
- 1:34:07Speaker 1: game about zombies.
- 1:34:08Speaker 2: Well, I know it could be.
- 1:34:09Speaker 3: Every time I come over, I'm.
- 1:34:10Speaker 1: Like, where are the zombies? He's like, how many times
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: do I have to tell you this is not a
- 1:34:13Speaker 1: zombie game?
- 1:34:15Speaker 2: Even games that aren't zombie games have new codes that
- 1:34:18Speaker 2: you can unlock. Like, what was the war one? Was
- 1:34:20Speaker 2: it Call of Duty? Or one of those had a
- 1:34:22Speaker 2: code that you crack a specific level, and it's a
- 1:34:25Speaker 2: zombie level.
- 1:34:25Speaker 6: You know, I'm sorry, but Nazi zombies can't go wrong.
- 1:34:29Speaker 6: You can never go wrong with fucking Nazi zombies.
- 1:34:32Speaker 2: In video games, in movies. Steam-powered zombies. There you go.
- 1:34:38Speaker 2: I don't give a fuck. They're powered by Jell-O pudding.
- 1:34:42Speaker 2: That was my favorite. No, that was a good part
- 1:34:46Speaker 2: of the movie. That was probably my favorite little venture
- 1:34:50Speaker 2: into the story. Not only are they evil, but they
- 1:34:53Speaker 2: are damn tasty. This episode is sponsored by Jell-O pudding.
- 1:34:58Speaker 2: Please send our check now. Only if it's butterscotch.
- 1:35:02Speaker 3: I don't know their ice cream. They have that ice
- 1:35:04Speaker 3: cream sandwich.
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: Speaking of pudding, that thing has some chocolate pudding in
- 1:35:07Speaker 1: my car.
- 1:35:09Speaker 2: Already made just sitting on the seat.
- 1:35:11Speaker 3: It's a little snack pack, people.
- 1:35:13Speaker 2: Come on.
- 1:35:15Speaker 1: I just don't keep a bowl of pudding in my car.
- 1:35:17Speaker 2: That's not what I hear. Man, I bet she's got
- 1:35:21Speaker 2: a bowl of pudding.
- 1:35:22Speaker 7: In her car.
- 1:35:22Speaker 2: Is that euphemism? Start using that, people. Work that in
- 1:35:28Speaker 2: as much as possible.
- 1:35:29Speaker 3: Girl, girl, I like your pudding.
- 1:35:31Speaker 1: Have you ever seen the state $ 240 worth of pudding?
- 1:35:33Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 1:35:34Speaker 2: Barry and LeVar. Oh, yeah. $ 240 worth of pudding.
- 1:35:38Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 1:35:39Speaker 2: My name is Barry Sagittarius. I love those guys.
- 1:35:44Speaker 3: I know.
- 1:35:46Speaker 2: All right. I think that was it for the buzz.
- 1:35:47Speaker 2: Anything you need to pass along in this week's news?
- 1:35:51Speaker 1: Any other?
- 1:35:51Speaker 2: I don't know. Alright, we shall wrap up then. Okay, kids,
- 1:35:56Speaker 2: get out your decoder pins. I can tell that tonight's
- 1:35:58Speaker 2: message was really important. Come on. You didn't even hear
- 1:36:01Speaker 2: the noise.
- 1:36:02Speaker 1: There you go.
- 1:36:06Speaker 2: Pulling the things up. It's time for the movie meltdown
- 1:36:11Speaker 2: secret circle movie you love next week's exciting feature. Next
- 1:36:15Speaker 2: week we will be back to watch the 80's classic
- 1:36:19Speaker 2: as far as I'm concerned. It's a A defining movie
- 1:36:23Speaker 2: for a generation, if you ask me. The Last American Virgin.
- 1:36:27Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:36:28Speaker 2: I'm interested to see what you guys think of it.
- 1:36:30Speaker 2: And we will have more of our... I'm familiar with
- 1:36:33Speaker 2: the second to the last, but not the last one.
- 1:36:34Speaker 2: Not the last one. Well, most of the series, but
- 1:36:36Speaker 2: I didn't catch that last one. I saw the first. Well,
- 1:36:39Speaker 2: the original most of the time is the best, but
- 1:36:41Speaker 2: not this time. The third one was kind of a disappointment.
- 1:36:44Speaker 2: We will again have a prequel before there was a virgin.
- 1:36:49Speaker 2: How do you be before a virgin? I don't know. Pre-virgin.
- 1:36:54Speaker 2: That sounds gross. We will also feature more of our
- 1:37:00Speaker 2: interview with Diane Franklin, star of The Last American Virgin.
- 1:37:03Speaker 3: God, she was so nice.
- 1:37:04Speaker 2: She is ridiculously nice and cute, and you'll get to
- 1:37:07Speaker 2: see her as a cute young girl in this movie.
- 1:37:09Speaker 8: I'd just like to point out before we close up
- 1:37:12Speaker 8: that Ernest goes to jail and Medea goes to jail
- 1:37:16Speaker 8: and needs a mashup.
- 1:37:17Speaker 2: No, I don't think it does. Don't silly the fine
- 1:37:20Speaker 2: name of Jim Varney.
- 1:37:21Speaker 3: What does that say?
- 1:37:24Speaker 8: But it's like there's both series that should have died.
- 1:37:26Speaker 2: Yeah. And they both play female characters and a lot
- 1:37:30Speaker 2: of characters within the same movies.
- 1:37:32Speaker 3: But Ernest was awesome.
- 1:37:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:37:34Speaker 8: Yeah, but Ernest was never in Star Trek.
- 1:37:38Speaker 2: Here's the other problem. Jim Varney never made a billion dollars. Right.
- 1:37:42Speaker 2: Jim Varney never got to be the most successful playwright
- 1:37:45Speaker 2: that ever lived.
- 1:37:45Speaker 3: So sad.
- 1:37:46Speaker 2: Fuck Shakespeare. Jim Varney wasn't to Oprah's best friend. Yeah.
- 1:37:51Speaker 2: That probably helped, too.
- 1:37:52Speaker 3: What?
- 1:37:52Speaker 2: That's sad.
- 1:37:54Speaker 5: Oh, Lord.
- 1:37:55Speaker 2: Sorry.
- 1:37:56Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:37:56Speaker 2: Let's just play some EG Daily and get the hell
- 1:37:58Speaker 2: out of here.
- 1:37:58Speaker 6: All right.
- 1:37:59Speaker 2: Otherwise, that about does it. We will return next week.
- 1:38:01Speaker 2: Same geek time, same geek feed. Thanks for listening.
- 1:38:04Speaker 1: Later, y'all.
- 1:38:05Speaker 2: Bye.
