- 0:00Speaker 1: Today's Riiety Big ninety eight point seven, mostly Sonny and
- 0:03Speaker 1: fifty three.
- 0:04Speaker 2: It's Gabe and Angie this morning.
- 0:06Speaker 1: And I saw something that made me realize just how
- 0:09Speaker 1: tough being a bartender was.
- 0:12Speaker 3: I feel like, I don't know what you mean. I
- 0:15Speaker 3: always thought that that would be the profession, Like how fun.
- 0:17Speaker 3: Everyone loves you if you're a bartender.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Yeah, you're the star of the show.
- 0:21Speaker 4: Yeah, you're pouring liquid courage, liquid joy. I feel like,
- 0:25Speaker 4: where could you go wrong?
- 0:26Speaker 1: Yeah, well, Cory, my wife and I were out to eat,
- 0:29Speaker 1: and this was one of those scenarios where I was like, Wow,
- 0:32Speaker 1: that's the side that you don't hear as much about.
- 0:34Speaker 1: This poor bartender essentially was just dealing with someone who
- 0:37Speaker 1: had enjoyed probably a little too much liquid courage, and
- 0:41Speaker 1: they were kind of just getting screamed at, berated, and
- 0:43Speaker 1: you're just like, what a nightmare?
- 0:45Speaker 3: Oh when you and vibed too much sometimes to turn
- 0:48Speaker 3: into a Karen.
- 0:49Speaker 4: You know what I did?
- 0:50Speaker 3: Used to go to a bar where they had a
- 0:52Speaker 3: little sign that was like blank days since a Karen incident, Oh,
- 0:56Speaker 3: and they would fill it out.
- 0:58Speaker 4: You're right, I didn't think about that.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Yeah, Gosh, being screamed at when you're just trying to
- 1:02Speaker 3: do your job is the worst.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Horrible, right. And so my wife, Corey is a social worker.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Now I'm not saying she gets screamed at or whatever,
- 1:09Speaker 1: but she definitely deals with difficult situations sometimes. And I
- 1:13Speaker 1: was wondering, you know, what are some other jobs where
- 1:15Speaker 1: you kind of have to tolerate getting yelled at at work?
- 1:19Speaker 1: Which doesn't sound fun, but it does happen to a
- 1:21Speaker 1: lot of professions out there.
- 1:23Speaker 4: Oh yeah, here, and I'm kidding, we don't get yelled
- 1:25Speaker 4: at all. No, we haven't easy. No, but baristaes barista.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Yeah, baristas.
- 1:30Speaker 4: I've seen many baristas yelled at. Oh the DMV.
- 1:34Speaker 2: DMV.
- 1:34Speaker 3: Yes, I was next to somebody screaming at the DMV.
- 1:37Speaker 3: So then to overcompensate, I was like the best DMV
- 1:41Speaker 3: person ever.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Yeah, we do have Emily on the line. Emily.
- 1:44Speaker 5: Okay. So when I worked in the hospital, not only
- 1:49Speaker 5: did I get punched, I've had people pass out on
- 1:52Speaker 5: me and then their families screaming. I've had people just
- 1:58Speaker 5: yell at me from the get go.
- 2:01Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that's rough.
- 2:02Speaker 3: Yeah, the medical profession has to be difficult. Any trying
- 2:08Speaker 3: to help them, but their emotions are disregulated because they've got,
- 2:12Speaker 3: you know, a medical emergency happening.
- 2:14Speaker 4: Oh that's rough.
- 2:15Speaker 1: I would say any high stress job like police officers,
- 2:18Speaker 1: I'm sure sadly you have to do get yelled at
- 2:20Speaker 1: freighter's medical profession.
- 2:23Speaker 3: How great that we're not smart enough for any of
- 2:25Speaker 3: those jobs.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Today's arriety Big ninety eight point seven. It's gave an
- 2:31Speaker 1: Angie fifty three and Sonny, And today is taxtay Angie.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Have you filed your taxes yet?
- 2:41Speaker 4: No?
- 2:42Speaker 2: You haven't got them done.
- 2:43Speaker 5: No.
- 2:44Speaker 4: I just I'm not good at taxes.
- 2:47Speaker 3: I feel like I have a lot of questions and
- 2:50Speaker 3: I'm definitely not going to pay a tax.
- 2:52Speaker 4: Person to help me.
- 2:53Speaker 2: High here somebody.
- 2:54Speaker 3: No, but you're free, Gabe, and so I'm gonna use
- 2:57Speaker 3: you as my resident tax guru.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Good luck with this.
- 3:02Speaker 4: I just need help.
- 3:03Speaker 3: There are some things I want to write off, and
- 3:05Speaker 3: I need to know if I can write them off.
- 3:07Speaker 2: You would know.
- 3:07Speaker 3: I I, okay, I got a speeding ticket one time
- 3:12Speaker 3: on my way to work, okay, and I made it
- 3:14Speaker 3: to work on time, But then I had to pay
- 3:16Speaker 3: this speeding ticket because that's work related.
- 3:20Speaker 4: Can I write that off.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Absolutely not.
- 3:22Speaker 3: What No, okay, What if I I spent a lot
- 3:27Speaker 3: of money my kid's birthday's coming up, and I realized
- 3:29Speaker 3: I've spent a lot of money on gifts throughout the year.
- 3:32Speaker 4: Can I write those off?
- 3:36Speaker 2: Is that a real question?
- 3:37Speaker 4: No? Oh, okay? What about tolls?
- 3:41Speaker 3: Because I lived in Washington all of last year and
- 3:45Speaker 3: so I had to take these toll roads to get
- 3:47Speaker 3: to work. By the way, I love that far Ago
- 3:50Speaker 3: doesn't have toll roads.
- 3:51Speaker 4: This is a proper city. But can I write off
- 3:54Speaker 4: the toll here since I was going to work.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Here's where you would need an expert. I'm going to
- 3:58Speaker 2: assume no, but I don't.
- 4:00Speaker 4: Know, okay.
- 4:01Speaker 3: And then as far as my cell phone bill, can
- 4:04Speaker 3: I write that off if I was doing work on
- 4:07Speaker 3: my cell phone?
- 4:09Speaker 4: No?
- 4:10Speaker 2: Absolutely not.
- 4:11Speaker 3: Great, Gabe, do you think I'm ready to file my taxes?
- 4:15Speaker 1: You are ready to file for an extension? It's Rety
- 4:21Speaker 1: Big ninety eight point seven. It's Gabe and Angie, Sonny
- 4:24Speaker 1: and fifty three. We like to call that dog walking
- 4:27Speaker 1: weather here on the Big ninety eight point seven Morning.
- 4:29Speaker 2: Show, and it is that time. It is time for
- 4:33Speaker 2: diamond days and giveaways.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Yes, what we're gonna do is call someone and they're
- 4:39Speaker 1: gonna win a big giant prize this morning. And it
- 4:41Speaker 1: is big if they answer within those first three rings.
- 4:44Speaker 3: Anything after three rings, sorry, no prize.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Yes, and we always feel really bad about that. So
- 4:50Speaker 1: let's hope we have a winner here. Are you ready
- 4:52Speaker 1: to do this?
- 4:52Speaker 2: Ajie?
- 4:53Speaker 4: Absolutely?
- 4:53Speaker 1: All right. Let's call her our potential winner here, and
- 5:05Speaker 1: we've got our first ring.
- 5:07Speaker 4: I love it.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Hello, Hello, I hope we have the right person.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Is it Tara or Tara? It's Tara, Tara.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Congratulations, Funny Diamond Days in Giveaways winner.
- 5:21Speaker 5: Thank you so much.
- 5:23Speaker 2: Do you want to know what you want? It's pretty
- 5:25Speaker 2: darn impressive.
- 5:26Speaker 3: Yes, eight thousand dollars gift certificate to spend at a
- 5:31Speaker 3: cutting edge gallery.
- 5:33Speaker 1: That's awesome.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Thank you so much.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Congratulations, and thank you for answering within those first three rings.
- 5:39Speaker 2: We always love that. We always appreciate that.
- 5:41Speaker 3: Thank you. Can I ask you did you have us
- 5:44Speaker 3: saved in your phone or did you just answer a
- 5:46Speaker 3: random number?
- 5:47Speaker 5: It did come up as your name?
- 5:51Speaker 2: Congratulations. We hope you have a great date.
- 5:54Speaker 5: Thank you so much.
- 5:55Speaker 2: And if you.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Would like a shot at winning a big giant prize
- 5:58Speaker 1: like our winner just did here this morning. Oh forget
- 6:00Speaker 1: text the word diamond to seven oh one two eight
- 6:02Speaker 1: zero one nine eight seven, or you can always go
- 6:06Speaker 1: to Big nine eight seven dot com man a one
- 6:10Speaker 1: thousand dollars gift from a cutting edge gallery of jewelry.
- 6:13Speaker 1: What are you gonna do if you want a thousand
- 6:15Speaker 1: dollars certificate?
- 6:16Speaker 2: What would you buy? Angie?
- 6:17Speaker 3: I'm trying to get some really fancy hoop earrings.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Today's variety Big ninety eight point seven.
- 6:25Speaker 1: It's Gabe an Angie fifty three and sunny today.
- 6:28Speaker 3: This might not mean anything to you, Gabe, because you're childless.
- 6:34Speaker 2: But wow, now no listen.
- 6:37Speaker 4: And I know every mom can relate to this.
- 6:40Speaker 3: On Saturday morning, I had the most glorious time in
- 6:45Speaker 3: the history of times because I sat down at the
- 6:48Speaker 3: kitchen table, I had buttered toasts on a plate, a
- 6:54Speaker 3: hot cup of coffee, my book, and I just got
- 6:58Speaker 3: to spend half an hour in silence, enjoying my book,
- 7:04Speaker 3: my toast, my coffee, without little children running around and
- 7:09Speaker 3: yelling and acting like demons. It was so great, Gabe,
- 7:13Speaker 3: and it happens so rarely that I went on to
- 7:17Speaker 3: the Big ninety points.
- 7:18Speaker 4: I'm on Facebook page, and I asked, what.
- 7:20Speaker 3: Do you do when you are up before the kids
- 7:23Speaker 3: are up?
- 7:25Speaker 4: Because on the weekends I want to sleep in.
- 7:28Speaker 3: It's this push pull right, because we're in here super
- 7:30Speaker 3: early during the weekdays, and I think, you know what
- 7:33Speaker 3: I want to sleep in, right, But also, gush, dang it.
- 7:37Speaker 4: I had these two children.
- 7:38Speaker 3: And so I always am battling with do I sleep
- 7:41Speaker 3: in and then I wake up when I hear the screaming?
- 7:45Speaker 4: Or do I.
- 7:49Speaker 3: Or do I wake up earlier than I would like
- 7:51Speaker 3: to to enjoy some quiet time? And it just worked
- 7:56Speaker 3: out where the kids slept in even later than I did,
- 7:58Speaker 3: so I got to sleep in and have quiet time
- 8:00Speaker 3: in the morning. But I wanted to know what do
- 8:02Speaker 3: you do when you're a parent and you are up
- 8:06Speaker 3: before the kiddles are up?
- 8:07Speaker 1: The Saturday you just described sounds like my every Saturday.
- 8:12Speaker 5: We do.
- 8:13Speaker 4: I hate you.
- 8:14Speaker 1: We do have Lindsey who said a shower with no
- 8:19Speaker 1: little human in the bathroom that is hard to imagine
- 8:23Speaker 1: trying to do a little scrub a dub dub in
- 8:24Speaker 1: the hygiene machine.
- 8:27Speaker 2: Kid real, and you got a little kid like poking
- 8:29Speaker 2: on the shower.
- 8:30Speaker 3: Yes, it's like as soon as the shower starts running
- 8:33Speaker 3: and you can't hear. That's when the children have all
- 8:35Speaker 3: the questions.
- 8:36Speaker 4: They come in. They're like mommy, mommy, oh my gosh,
- 8:39Speaker 4: it's a nightmare.
- 8:40Speaker 1: It will be a kid on a Saturday morning at
- 8:42Speaker 1: six thirty am that discovers the cure to cancer. I've
- 8:45Speaker 1: actually firmly believed that also, Carrie, she said, she makes
- 8:49Speaker 1: she makes coffee and drinks that first cup in silence,
- 8:52Speaker 1: which is exactly what you said. And then I love
- 8:55Speaker 1: this from Elizabeth, she said, definitely the coffee and breakfast.
- 8:59Speaker 1: Apparently her daughter is quite the breakfast thief. Imagine making
- 9:03Speaker 1: eggs for just you. Oh my gosh, you're getting a
- 9:06Speaker 1: whole plate.
- 9:08Speaker 3: Oh yeah, wait with these egg prices.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Today's Variety Big ninety eight point seven. It's Gabe and
- 9:16Speaker 1: Angie mostly Sonny by the way today with a high
- 9:19Speaker 1: of fifty three. And there are really low standards for
- 9:23Speaker 1: being considered an expert in something in twenty twenty five.
- 9:26Speaker 1: What do you mean I think to be an expert,
- 9:29Speaker 1: you just say you are on Instagram or on TikTok.
- 9:32Speaker 3: Oh you know what, you're right, You're right, just say
- 9:37Speaker 3: an expert said, and we just believe it.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Yeah, there's no real like guideline to becoming an expert, like,
- 9:43Speaker 1: for example, a dating expert. I use that in quotes online.
- 9:49Speaker 1: So these are some terrible first date ideas, and there
- 9:52Speaker 1: are some that I would agree with. A family event
- 9:55Speaker 1: probably not ideal.
- 9:56Speaker 4: For a first date.
- 9:57Speaker 3: Yeah, wow, well you know what, maybe in this day
- 10:00Speaker 3: and age, you should scope out the family immediately right
- 10:04Speaker 3: to see if you want to get involved.
- 10:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:06Speaker 1: Well, like, for example, bowling all of a sudden is
- 10:09Speaker 1: a terrible first date.
- 10:11Speaker 2: Bowling is fun.
- 10:12Speaker 6: That's a great idea. Yes, that's what I prefer for
- 10:15Speaker 6: my first date. Yeah, and they say there's too many
- 10:17Speaker 6: turns and no time to talk. You're telling me you
- 10:20Speaker 6: can't sit in between your turns for thirty to seconds
- 10:24Speaker 6: to joke around.
- 10:25Speaker 3: I don't trust this expert, all right, keep going.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Plus you can find out if she's mad or he
- 10:30Speaker 1: is mad competitive, and you don't want to deal with
- 10:32Speaker 1: that your whole life.
- 10:33Speaker 4: That part.
- 10:33Speaker 1: I love bowling. That's a great first date. This one
- 10:36Speaker 1: I do get unless you're both really big fans of
- 10:40Speaker 1: But like a sporting event, that's just fun. Now if
- 10:45Speaker 1: it goes horrible, it's a little hard to bail.
- 10:47Speaker 2: Out after about an hour. You're kind of stuck.
- 10:49Speaker 4: There, right.
- 10:50Speaker 3: Well, and also, if you're gonna go to a sporting event,
- 10:52Speaker 3: I feel like it has to be where neither of
- 10:55Speaker 3: you has a dog in the race, right. It can't
- 10:58Speaker 3: be either of your teams playing. If it goes bad,
- 11:01Speaker 3: then you're gonna see a horrible side to your date,
- 11:04Speaker 3: and that's not a good look.
- 11:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:05Speaker 1: And then finally, this is the last one, but family
- 11:08Speaker 1: slash friend get togethers.
- 11:10Speaker 2: I get the family thing, But a group.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Date for your first date. I don't think that's that
- 11:15Speaker 1: big of a deal. Maybe you don't even count it
- 11:17Speaker 1: as a date. It's just a hangout, a meetup with
- 11:19Speaker 1: other people so you can find out if you do
- 11:22Speaker 1: want to go on a solo date.
- 11:24Speaker 3: I've decided that I'm a dating expert now, Gabe, or
- 11:27Speaker 3: that I want to be the dating as well. I'm
- 11:29Speaker 3: gonna be expert first, and any date where balls fly
- 11:33Speaker 3: at your face is a no. I went on a
- 11:36Speaker 3: first date and I was playing tennis. Oh, and the
- 11:39Speaker 3: first serve, this guy hit me so hard in the
- 11:42Speaker 3: face with the tennis ball ruined Wow.
- 11:45Speaker 4: Entire date.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Well, I mean that's a little bit of an operator error,
- 11:50Speaker 1: don't you think. Isn't that on you a little bit
- 11:52Speaker 1: half some math letasis? It's on me, I don't know,
- 11:54Speaker 1: have some athleticism. You agreed to go on a tennis date.
- 11:57Speaker 4: Right as an expert. No, don't go on a Tennessee.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Today's riety big ninety eight point seven. It's Gabe and Angie.
- 12:07Speaker 1: Mostly sunny today with a high of fifty three.
- 12:10Speaker 2: And we have some little victories for you, Angie.
- 12:15Speaker 1: Do you have a little victory from yesterday, the day
- 12:17Speaker 1: before or this morning?
- 12:19Speaker 7: Oh?
- 12:19Speaker 4: I have one from yesterday.
- 12:21Speaker 3: I completed two loads of laundry on a weekday and
- 12:26Speaker 3: I folded.
- 12:27Speaker 4: It and put it away. Who am I?
- 12:29Speaker 2: All right?
- 12:30Speaker 4: This is like so major in my household.
- 12:32Speaker 3: I usually save all of the laundry for the weekend
- 12:36Speaker 3: and then I don't necessarily fold it and put it away.
- 12:39Speaker 3: And I accomplished two loads and then folded and put
- 12:43Speaker 3: them away.
- 12:43Speaker 2: All right? Who are you, fran Dresser. Yeah, that's right,
- 12:46Speaker 2: that's she the nanny.
- 12:47Speaker 4: Yes, there we are. Do you have one game?
- 12:50Speaker 2: I do have one.
- 12:51Speaker 1: And by the way, if you ever want to chime
- 12:52Speaker 1: in with little victories, we just like starting the show
- 12:55Speaker 1: off with some positivity, no matter how your day is going,
- 12:58Speaker 1: just small things that we want to celebrate here on
- 13:00Speaker 1: Big ninety eight point seven. I did something yesterday that
- 13:02Speaker 1: I don't know if I have done in months, maybe
- 13:05Speaker 1: even like years, well maybe not quite maybe not quite years.
- 13:08Speaker 1: But I took a forty five minute nap yesterday. Yeah,
- 13:13Speaker 1: my god, did that feel great.
- 13:15Speaker 3: I am so envious of nappers. I cannot take a
- 13:18Speaker 3: nap to save.
- 13:19Speaker 2: My life me either. I am a horrid napper.
- 13:22Speaker 1: I kind I'll lay there and then I'm like, Okay,
- 13:25Speaker 1: I don't want a nap because I want to be
- 13:26Speaker 1: able to go to sleep at you know, nine, nine
- 13:28Speaker 1: thirty or whenever I kind of lay down, So I
- 13:30Speaker 1: kind of I avoid it if I can. But I
- 13:33Speaker 1: had a big, forty five minute nap yesterday, and I
- 13:36Speaker 1: had never been so happy.
- 13:37Speaker 4: I am so proud of you.
- 13:38Speaker 2: It was great. On the way here at six twenty one,
- 13:41Speaker 2: we'll have some tea.
- 13:42Speaker 3: For you, Katie Perry went up to Space and inadvertently
- 13:47Speaker 3: caused some beef with a fast food restaurant. I will
- 13:50Speaker 3: tell you with who next on the teeth.
- 13:53Speaker 1: Start the coffee, Gooday's Variety, Big ninety eight point seven
- 13:58Speaker 1: it's Gabe and mostly Sonny today with a high of
- 14:02Speaker 1: fifty three.
- 14:03Speaker 3: I'm in a fight with my son, Aiden, my fourteen.
- 14:07Speaker 4: You know, I'm going to fight with.
- 14:08Speaker 3: Him because I said that he's rude, and he's very
- 14:13Speaker 3: offended that I have called him rude.
- 14:15Speaker 4: I want to get your opinion, Uncle Gabe. I need
- 14:19Speaker 4: your opinion.
- 14:20Speaker 3: Do you think that I am correct in saying that
- 14:23Speaker 3: Aiden is rude?
- 14:24Speaker 4: Because when he.
- 14:26Speaker 3: Texts me, all of his answers are in abbreviations, and
- 14:32Speaker 3: I think that looks rude. For example, if I he
- 14:36Speaker 3: asks me to do something and I do it, he'll
- 14:39Speaker 3: say thanks, but he'll say THHX like he can't bother
- 14:43Speaker 3: to give me the A and the N and then
- 14:47Speaker 3: the K and the I don't know how to spell,
- 14:49Speaker 3: but he does.
- 14:51Speaker 4: He doesn't. It's just a thanks, thinks and I don't
- 14:54Speaker 4: like that.
- 14:55Speaker 3: And then if I say I love you to him,
- 14:58Speaker 3: he'll just say you love you?
- 15:01Speaker 4: Yeah, that's rude. You can't give me an.
- 15:03Speaker 2: Eye, is it?
- 15:04Speaker 1: It'd be even worse if he gave you the il y.
- 15:07Speaker 1: He doesn't even type it out. Oh, at least he does.
- 15:11Speaker 3: Start down that yeah, but don't give this idea. Sorry, well,
- 15:15Speaker 3: and then I don't like when he answers yes or no,
- 15:19Speaker 3: he says why or n Like, bro, why is it
- 15:23Speaker 3: so hard for you to just finish a word?
- 15:26Speaker 4: I don't like it. And so I think that looks rude.
- 15:29Speaker 3: Do you think that it's rude to text and abbreviations?
- 15:34Speaker 1: I do kind of think that it is a bit rude.
- 15:39Speaker 1: But I will also say this, I think it's a
- 15:41Speaker 1: case by case basis.
- 15:43Speaker 2: I have, you know, thirty year old dudes, right, the
- 15:47Speaker 2: worst world's worst.
- 15:48Speaker 1: Texters are guys in their thirties or mid twenties.
- 15:52Speaker 4: Oh great, it's only gonna get worse.
- 15:54Speaker 1: You're lucky if they respond period with more than two
- 15:57Speaker 1: words in their sentence. So I do think that it
- 16:03Speaker 1: does kind of like if Corey were to text me
- 16:06Speaker 1: the h X or K or stuff like that, I'd
- 16:13Speaker 1: be like, okay, misattitude.
- 16:15Speaker 3: Do not hit me with the potassium. That's the one
- 16:18Speaker 3: that puts me over that edge. Yes, just k absolutely
- 16:24Speaker 3: not right.
- 16:25Speaker 1: So a case by case basis, as as Uncle Gabe
- 16:29Speaker 1: would say, I do have a lot of nieces and nephews.
- 16:31Speaker 2: You know, it takes all of half a.
- 16:33Speaker 1: Second to type out the full word, and the saying
- 16:38Speaker 1: is happy mom, happy life. Yeah, today's arriety Big ninety
- 16:45Speaker 1: eight point seven, It's Gabe and Angie, Sonny and fifty
- 16:48Speaker 1: three today. Have you ever had to block someone on
- 16:52Speaker 1: social media? I'm not a big blocker.
- 16:56Speaker 3: Yeah, I feel like it takes a lot for me
- 16:57Speaker 3: to block someone. Why did you have to block someone?
- 17:00Speaker 1: Did block someone? It was a handful of weeks ago.
- 17:04Speaker 1: And the problem is, I don't even really dislike this person.
- 17:08Speaker 4: Then why did you block them?
- 17:09Speaker 1: I just really dislike what I was seeing every five
- 17:13Speaker 1: seconds on social media? And I I don't want to
- 17:18Speaker 1: come off as like a jerk, right, but this. Can
- 17:22Speaker 1: you ever see someone and they go out and do
- 17:24Speaker 1: something really nice, right, and you see it and you're like, oh,
- 17:27Speaker 1: that's really cool, that's awesome, Like give that a like
- 17:30Speaker 1: or a thumbs up or whatever. Yeah, And then the
- 17:33Speaker 1: problem is that's all you see every time you log
- 17:37Speaker 1: on social media for like a month, It's just every
- 17:40Speaker 1: day we're doing something crazy, super nice. Are you doing
- 17:45Speaker 1: this because it's nice or are you doing this so
- 17:49Speaker 1: you can tell us about it?
- 17:50Speaker 4: Okay? So documenting every good deal?
- 17:54Speaker 2: Yes?
- 17:54Speaker 1: And I kind of got to the point where I
- 17:56Speaker 1: was like, this feels fake and disingenuous, and I don't like,
- 17:59Speaker 1: I don't want to support all this, which is such
- 18:01Speaker 1: a hater move because what they're doing is nice.
- 18:05Speaker 4: But it's performative.
- 18:06Speaker 2: But exactly that's it isn't a play.
- 18:10Speaker 4: Yeah, this isn't a play.
- 18:11Speaker 3: Yeah, it feels it's just disingen genuous. Okay, So but
- 18:16Speaker 3: you went all the way for the full block. You
- 18:18Speaker 3: know you can mute people.
- 18:20Speaker 2: Well that's I muted. Yes, that is what I did.
- 18:22Speaker 1: I haven't like completely blocked them, like off social media in.
- 18:27Speaker 3: General, but you're not going to see that. I just
- 18:29Speaker 3: I don't want to see all that. I'm a blocker.
- 18:32Speaker 3: I don't know people. I just go for the full block.
- 18:35Speaker 2: You've had to block someone, Yeah.
- 18:37Speaker 3: I've blocked people for your thing. I had a girlfriend
- 18:40Speaker 3: who oh my gosh, we get it.
- 18:43Speaker 4: You're so helpful.
- 18:45Speaker 2: Yeah, but the.
- 18:45Speaker 3: One I had to block, and it made my heart
- 18:48Speaker 3: sad because I thought this person was very funny, very charming.
- 18:53Speaker 4: I really enjoyed our banter.
- 18:55Speaker 2: But was it me?
- 18:57Speaker 4: No?
- 19:00Speaker 2: No, sorry.
- 19:02Speaker 3: They would interject between being like funny and cool, asking for.
- 19:07Speaker 2: Feet pictures, oh no.
- 19:09Speaker 4: And so like I would just ignore that.
- 19:11Speaker 3: I feel like every girl has this where the guide
- 19:15Speaker 3: oversteps and then you just ignore that comment and you
- 19:18Speaker 3: try to keep it pushing. But there's only only so
- 19:20Speaker 3: many times you can do that, and then it just
- 19:22Speaker 3: got to be too too many requests for the tutsis,
- 19:26Speaker 3: and I just I couldn't do it.
- 19:29Speaker 4: So I had to block them.
- 19:30Speaker 1: Being Yeah, being a lady on social media, I'm sure
- 19:32Speaker 1: is wildly worse than it is for poor me.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Can I ask the personal question?
- 19:37Speaker 4: Oh gosh, yeah, sure? Why not?
- 19:40Speaker 2: What is the going rate for an Angie foot picture?
- 19:42Speaker 3: These days?
- 19:43Speaker 4: If you have to ask, you can't afford it.
- 19:45Speaker 1: Game is Randy Big ninety eight point seven, Sonny and
- 19:51Speaker 1: fifty three Today I like to call that dog walking weather.
- 19:54Speaker 1: It is Gavin Angie. I have got some good news
- 19:56Speaker 1: for you. Now here's a name you might recognize if
- 20:01Speaker 1: you're a basketball fan. He used to be a basketball
- 20:03Speaker 1: player for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Carl Anthony Towns surprised a
- 20:09Speaker 1: young fan with a really big gift before their game
- 20:12Speaker 1: on Friday against the Cavs. Carl Anthony Towns is the
- 20:16Speaker 1: basketball player he took time to meet Calvin and deliver
- 20:19Speaker 1: the news that he had won something pretty impressive here.
- 20:23Speaker 7: I got a little surprise. So I know you thought
- 20:25Speaker 7: you're coming to this game and that was it. Yeah,
- 20:27Speaker 7: I see the next play, which is fabulous.
- 20:29Speaker 2: But we're gonna give.
- 20:31Speaker 7: You a nice little gifts right that you are the
- 20:36Speaker 7: guard of the Dreams Scholarship winner.
- 20:38Speaker 2: I'm like, get you.
- 20:39Speaker 7: We'll be getting sixty right, sixty guy. I wanted to
- 20:42Speaker 7: make sure because that's a lot of money.
- 20:44Speaker 3: I don't I mess up.
- 20:46Speaker 2: Sixty thousand dollars.
- 20:47Speaker 7: Congratulations man too. Absolutely, absolutely, this fan.
- 20:52Speaker 1: Got a sixty thousand dollars scholarship.
- 20:54Speaker 2: Amazing.
- 20:55Speaker 3: I need a sixty thousand dollars scholarship Calvin play and
- 21:00Speaker 3: to study musical theater in Albany.
- 21:03Speaker 1: And he was obviously thrilled by the surprise, as you
- 21:05Speaker 1: could hear. If you don't know this about Karl Anthony Towns,
- 21:07Speaker 1: he has a long standing commitment to education through his
- 21:11Speaker 1: family's Cat Team Foundation. So it's not just necessarily some
- 21:16Speaker 1: foundation that he just has his name on and a
- 21:19Speaker 1: bunch of other people. It's his family doesn't love this,
- 21:21Speaker 1: which is awesome. The foundation supports scholarships and promotes literacy
- 21:26Speaker 1: in underserved communities and This is just the latest gesture
- 21:30Speaker 1: and his ongoing efforts to help students overcome financial barriers
- 21:34Speaker 1: in education.
- 21:35Speaker 3: I love this so much. Education is like the most
- 21:38Speaker 3: important thing to me growing up. I was part of
- 21:41Speaker 3: the underserved, and it was teachers and adults in the
- 21:45Speaker 3: community who really banded together to make sure that I
- 21:48Speaker 3: had what I needed, and so stuff like this is
- 21:52Speaker 3: really super important and I love that.
- 21:54Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel like we had this conversation once off
- 21:55Speaker 1: the air, But I've always believed that if there's one
- 21:58Speaker 1: place in a world where every kid should have an
- 22:02Speaker 1: even playing field is at school. Every kid should have
- 22:05Speaker 1: the things they need to be successful. And so it's
- 22:08Speaker 1: just awesome that Karl Anthony Towns, a former Minnesota Timberwolf,
- 22:12Speaker 1: does this for areas in the United States, and I
- 22:15Speaker 1: just think it's awesome. The world is full of nice people.
- 22:18Speaker 1: If you can't find one, you gotta be one.
