- Brad Peters: Welcome to the recipe for results. This is your podcast extra for certification in the hotel, restaurant, and bar industry, brought to you by HRB Universal. This is the brief on the upcoming Daytona Beach Surf Safe Food Protection Manager course and exam. So, this covers exactly how you can get ANSI accredited and FDA compliant by July 29th, 2026, which is absolutely crucial. Because the FDA food code requires a certified person in charge on duty at all times. First up the timeline. If you want an intense one-and-done boot camp, you'll be at the HRB Universal Training Center in Daytona Beach on July 29th from 8:30 AM to 4 p.m. You're getting a fast-paced four-hour review, lunch, and a two-hour electronic exam starting right at 2 p.m. But hey, they are incredibly strict. Once the clock strikes 2, nobody else is getting into that exam room. Second, let's talk prep. Because that four-hour lecture is purely a review, you've got to knock out mandatory self-study on their online portal beforehand. You really can't just show up and expect to pass. Think of the morning session like a final dress rehearsal, not the entire play. You gotta learn your FDA food code lines before you arrive. For the test itself, bring your own laptop or tablet, or just use a provided Amazon Fire tablet. Finally, let's look at pricing. If you just want to roll up at 2 p.m. for the test, it's $129. But adding that morning review course makes it $159. And you know, why risk missing a sneaky last minute location change? Just use their free mobile app or text 855-447-2864 to stay in the loop. So whether you need the full morning refresher or literally just the exam, lock in your ticket, crush your pre-study, and secure those food safety credentials on July 29th.
