- 0:08Speaker 1: Scalable advice. Sugar spice. It's time nice Hello, no loa
- 0:14Speaker 1: loa loa Loallo. Welcome to the naughty but nic Sham
- 0:17Speaker 1: your host stromp Shooter. It's Friday. Cory is off today.
- 0:19Speaker 1: It's my fault not here. I am traveling to London.
- 0:23Speaker 1: It's my mom's ninetieth birthday party. Happy birthday, Mommy. So
- 0:26Speaker 1: I'm traveling in to see my mom. But I'm leaving
- 0:30Speaker 1: in a very odd time, so we couldn't coordinate with Corey.
- 0:33Speaker 1: But not to worry. I'm here for you always, Naughties.
- 0:35Speaker 1: I love doing the show. Let's jump in. What time
- 0:38Speaker 1: is it, my friends? It is tea time, big big story.
- 0:42Speaker 1: At the top of the show, an ex FBI director
- 0:47Speaker 1: is saying that he does not believe any real ransom
- 0:51Speaker 1: newt has been found in Savannah Guthrie's mother's disappearance case. So,
- 0:57Speaker 1: a former FBI dep director says, Anna's emotional, may I
- 1:04Speaker 1: even say heartbreaking plea, a public plea for their mother's
- 1:08Speaker 1: safe return, strongly suggests the family has not yet received
- 1:13Speaker 1: a legitimate ransom note let me explain. The director notes
- 1:19Speaker 1: that families already in active negotiations don't usually beg captors
- 1:25Speaker 1: to make contact, they're already talking. In Steady warns these
- 1:30Speaker 1: cases often attract scammers and sick opportunists seeking to exploit
- 1:36Speaker 1: their grief and their fear. As authorities continue continue to
- 1:41Speaker 1: examine the ransom notes, the alleged ransom notes. This insight
- 1:47Speaker 1: reframes the moment Savannah's plea wasn't strategy, no, no, no,
- 1:53Speaker 1: It was desperation, It was hope. It was a daughter
- 1:56Speaker 1: trying to open up the lines of communication. Just so
- 1:59Speaker 1: we understand that one more time. The director is saying
- 2:02Speaker 1: that families that are already negotiating don't beg their captors
- 2:07Speaker 1: to make contact. They're already talking. So if there was
- 2:10Speaker 1: a ransom note that the family already had, or through
- 2:13Speaker 1: the media directly or for somebody else, they wouldn't be
- 2:17Speaker 1: putting out this video. Yesterday we talked about Savannah's heartbreaking,
- 2:22Speaker 1: heartbreaking video. That video would not have said the same
- 2:26Speaker 1: things if at all existed. It might never have existed
- 2:30Speaker 1: if they were already talking with the awful people, the
- 2:34Speaker 1: despicable people who have kidnapped her mother. So the fact
- 2:37Speaker 1: that they are reaching out, they're going public. She's one
- 2:41Speaker 1: of the most famous TV personalities in the world. It
- 2:44Speaker 1: is getting massive amounts of press, so her millions of
- 2:48Speaker 1: people on social media are seeing it, but it's been
- 2:51Speaker 1: amplified by everybody else. Whoever has Nancy has seen this message.
- 2:58Speaker 1: There is no doubt about it. That and that was
- 3:01Speaker 1: the purpose of the message, to get to the captors,
- 3:05Speaker 1: to get to the kidnapper. And the message was very clear,
- 3:09Speaker 1: We're here to listen and we are ready to talk,
- 3:12Speaker 1: which means they are not all ready talking. I should
- 3:16Speaker 1: point out to really sadly that the FBI has arrested
- 3:20Speaker 1: one person. They did it on Thursday morning for allegedly
- 3:23Speaker 1: writing a fake ransom note for profit. TMZ got a note,
- 3:28Speaker 1: another outletter, local Arizona outlet got a note. Fake notes. Goodness, gracious,
- 3:34Speaker 1: we cannot divert waste Please time, please energy. We need
- 3:39Speaker 1: every minute, every every person to focus on getting Nancy home,
- 3:45Speaker 1: not to run down these fake notes. I hope they
- 3:48Speaker 1: are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law to
- 3:51Speaker 1: send a fake note to try and make some money
- 3:54Speaker 1: right now this moment. It is a disgrace. Let's focus
- 3:59Speaker 1: on Nancy. Let's focus on getting Nancy home. I'm sure
- 4:03Speaker 1: you've seen the Savannah video. Anybody who has seen that
- 4:06Speaker 1: and still thinks it's a good idea to write a
- 4:08Speaker 1: fake notes is a despicable, despicable human being. Hey, we
- 4:13Speaker 1: do not have a poll today. We don't do polls
- 4:15Speaker 1: when the subject is this serious. But we are sending
- 4:18Speaker 1: you Savannah, the Family, the Guthries, Nancy all I love
- 4:23Speaker 1: moving along. The View is bracing for some shakeups as
- 4:26Speaker 1: Alissa Farah Griffin steps aside. I reported this first, So
- 4:30Speaker 1: she stepping aside on maternity leave. She will be back,
- 4:33Speaker 1: but they will be filling her chair with some very
- 4:35Speaker 1: familiar faces when she is gone. My sources are telling
- 4:39Speaker 1: me former co hosts will be returning us see you,
- 4:42Speaker 1: Sherris Shepherd, maybe Rosie o'donald. Oh, I think she's an
- 4:45Speaker 1: Ireland but oh that would be juicy juicy Jusey and
- 4:48Speaker 1: lots of rotating celebrities will also be included. Her final
- 4:52Speaker 1: episode airs February thirteenth, just around the corner. So whether
- 4:59Speaker 1: this is a temporary sh full or a test run,
- 5:01Speaker 1: that's a bigger question. Mindsight is telling me there is
- 5:04Speaker 1: every intention to bring her back, to bring Alissa back
- 5:07Speaker 1: after she has her baby, but it is the perfect
- 5:10Speaker 1: opportunity to test the people out. It is a prime job,
- 5:15Speaker 1: lots of money, nice hours, and lots of time off.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Did I mention lots of money. I know a lot
- 5:21Speaker 1: of celebrities that would kill for this job on the View,
- 5:25Speaker 1: and they will all be auditioning. They are not just
- 5:28Speaker 1: turning up to fill a vacant seat temporee. They're all
- 5:32Speaker 1: going They're all going to put on a show to
- 5:35Speaker 1: give their best performance to show to that producers that
- 5:39Speaker 1: they in fact could be a full time member. And
- 5:41Speaker 1: this is not that rare. This is how several hosts
- 5:44Speaker 1: have got the job. They started just filling in, They
- 5:47Speaker 1: started just one off. Some of them even started as
- 5:50Speaker 1: a guest, and then the producers realized in the control
- 5:53Speaker 1: room in the studio, my goodness, this energy is really good,
- 5:56Speaker 1: This chemistry is really toxicating, and so they're hoping for
- 6:00Speaker 1: that again. I broke the story first that Marjorie Taylor Green,
- 6:04Speaker 1: the former congress woman, wants this job. She's been on
- 6:07Speaker 1: the show several times. Lots of energy. They are very
- 6:10Speaker 1: controversial figure. She's somebody that they are looking at. Melissa,
- 6:14Speaker 1: we can't wait for you to come back. She hasn't
- 6:16Speaker 1: left yet. But when you come back, it's going to
- 6:18Speaker 1: be great. But a lot of my friends in television,
- 6:20Speaker 1: they don't like to take time off because if you
- 6:23Speaker 1: take time off and the numbers go up, you in trouble.
- 6:27Speaker 1: When I had my morning show on VH one, I
- 6:29Speaker 1: didn't miss a single show, and it was out of
- 6:30Speaker 1: fear that if I wasn't there, nobody would care. The
- 6:33Speaker 1: numbers would say the same or even worse, they would
- 6:36Speaker 1: go up out and that would be awful, And so
- 6:39Speaker 1: I never even gave them that chance to find ad Obviously,
- 6:43Speaker 1: maternity leave, it's very important. We are loving this, that
- 6:47Speaker 1: you're going to have amazing, amazing time, and I'm sure
- 6:49Speaker 1: the seat will be there. But don't think for one
- 6:51Speaker 1: second those fest levils. You know who you are, won't
- 6:55Speaker 1: we trying to snatch it from under your very bottom?
- 7:00Speaker 1: Oh TV, it is brutal, talking about TV being brutal.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Chris Harrison do you remember him from the Bachelorette and
- 7:06Speaker 1: The Bachelor? He's back with a new dating show about
- 7:09Speaker 1: quote traditional marriage. Oh Chris, so five years after exiting
- 7:14Speaker 1: a mid racist fallout. Let's be clear he didn't quit.
- 7:17Speaker 1: He was fired because he made some racist comments his
- 7:20Speaker 1: dip going back into TV with a dating show that
- 7:23Speaker 1: is tauted as quote traditional marriage. Yes, really, the casting
- 7:29Speaker 1: call noticed. It makes it very very clear that they're
- 7:31Speaker 1: looking for traditional roles. Shared values. Oh, it does instantly
- 7:37Speaker 1: lit up social media with lots of side eyes and
- 7:40Speaker 1: lots of support from maga whisperers. Critics call it a
- 7:44Speaker 1: renegrade and cringey supporters cheer his return, saying they've missed him.
- 7:49Speaker 1: Harrison insists that it is about finding true love, not controversy.
- 7:54Speaker 1: I'm not so sure about that. What does this mean
- 7:58Speaker 1: traditional marriage? I'm assuming no gay marriage. That is a
- 8:02Speaker 1: traditional marriage. Goodness gracious, Chris. People are saying that this
- 8:06Speaker 1: is not going to be a culture war show, but
- 8:09Speaker 1: that's what it sounds like to me. I don't think
- 8:12Speaker 1: dating shows need to be reinvented. Find two people who
- 8:16Speaker 1: want to fall in love. That's the secret to a
- 8:18Speaker 1: great show. Traditional values. Ooh, that is a code, isn't it.
- 8:24Speaker 1: That's a signal. That's a little key there of what
- 8:28Speaker 1: they're looking towards. I don't know the network. I'm assuming
- 8:32Speaker 1: it's going to be a very conservative network, maybe even
- 8:35Speaker 1: a religious network that's putting this show out. But it
- 8:39Speaker 1: does give you pause, doesn't it. Chris, on the other hand,
- 8:42Speaker 1: nobody else is offering him a job for a minute.
- 8:45Speaker 1: He was going to return to TV with a dating
- 8:46Speaker 1: show for Doctor Phil, but Doctor Phil's network went bankrupt,
- 8:50Speaker 1: poof it disappeared. We broke that story first financial trouble
- 8:54Speaker 1: and now it's gone. So Chris is still trying to
- 8:57Speaker 1: get a show back. He's been told the way to
- 8:59Speaker 1: get back on TV, particularly in the current political climat
- 9:03Speaker 1: is to do a show that appears to the magabase,
- 9:07Speaker 1: a show that is very religious, very traditional, and so
- 9:11Speaker 1: that is where Chris is going. He would not be
- 9:13Speaker 1: the first TV host Hello, CBS, Lowa, Loolo to change
- 9:18Speaker 1: their mind about their values, what they feel in order
- 9:23Speaker 1: to land a well paying job. I won't do it. No, no, no,
- 9:28Speaker 1: Some things Chris are more important than many. Chris not
- 9:32Speaker 1: quickly before we get a break, takes another swipe at
- 9:35Speaker 1: Sarah Jessica Parker. The former Mister Big said he feels
- 9:39Speaker 1: really lucky that his character was killed off at the
- 9:41Speaker 1: start of this new spin off, and he added that
- 9:44Speaker 1: he felt very good about not being part of this
- 9:47Speaker 1: much mocked serious ouch the Commons reopen old wounds from
- 9:53Speaker 1: the falling out allegations after North. It was it was
- 9:56Speaker 1: alleged that North had abused people, had been sexually abusive,
- 10:01Speaker 1: violent with people, and Sarah issued a statement at the time,
- 10:04Speaker 1: he was quickly quickly fired, although his season had pretty
- 10:09Speaker 1: much come to an end because his character dies. I
- 10:11Speaker 1: hope that's not a spoiler alert. And now the translation
- 10:14Speaker 1: is this feud is far from over in terms. The
- 10:18Speaker 1: romance is dead and buried and still very bitter. He's
- 10:23Speaker 1: furious not for being fired, but for the way it
- 10:27Speaker 1: went down. He has spoken about this and said, after
- 10:30Speaker 1: working with Sarah for over a decade, the accusations were serious,
- 10:33Speaker 1: they were really tough. She should have called him and said, Chris,
- 10:37Speaker 1: what's the story, what happened here, and given him an
- 10:40Speaker 1: opportunity to explain himself. That's what he believes he was
- 10:43Speaker 1: not given that opportunity. The minute this hit the press,
- 10:47Speaker 1: Sarah put out a statement, a tough statement, a strong statement,
- 10:51Speaker 1: maybe even the right statement. But he feels as if
- 10:54Speaker 1: before she did that, she should have given him the
- 10:56Speaker 1: benefit of the doubt, or at least the respect of
- 10:59Speaker 1: a phone call to try and get his side of
- 11:01Speaker 1: the story, and that did not happen. It's amazing how
- 11:06Speaker 1: you can throw away years and years and years of friendship,
- 11:09Speaker 1: of professionalism and so puff in a minute, it can
- 11:13Speaker 1: all go. He is angry about this. I think big
- 11:16Speaker 1: picture here, probably not the coolest thing to say, but
- 11:19Speaker 1: he's not wrong. The spin off and just like that,
- 11:23Speaker 1: it was not very good, sort of awful. I've watched
- 11:26Speaker 1: a few of them, but it wasn't good. But it
- 11:28Speaker 1: made them a lot of money. And don't forget even
- 11:30Speaker 1: though Chris was fired, he still gets those royalty checks.
- 11:34Speaker 1: He makes millions of dollars from Sex of the City,
- 11:37Speaker 1: and he will make it for the rest of his life.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Somewhere in the world right now, the TV show or
- 11:42Speaker 1: the movie that he is in he's playing, which means
- 11:45Speaker 1: he is getting a really big, juicy, delicious royalty from
- 11:49Speaker 1: all around the world. This is why Sarah bought a
- 11:52Speaker 1: forty forty million dollars town house. Chris norv has been
- 11:56Speaker 1: very successful. However, most of his money, most of his money,
- 12:00Speaker 1: most of his royalties, come from Sex in the City.
- 12:04Speaker 1: So he can be angry as much as he wants.
- 12:06Speaker 1: He's still cashing the checks. Okay, We're going to take
- 12:10Speaker 1: a quick break and we will be right back. Welcome
- 12:13Speaker 1: back to the naughty but nic Show. If you've heard
- 12:15Speaker 1: a little boy noise in the background, the apartment above
- 12:19Speaker 1: me has been renovated. It's a little bit of a nightmare.
- 12:21Speaker 1: I'm in the closet. I'm trying my best here, but
- 12:23Speaker 1: if you are hearing some banging, I am sorry, but
- 12:26Speaker 1: there's nothing I can do about it. I hope they
- 12:28Speaker 1: invite me up when it's renovated so I can have
- 12:30Speaker 1: a good nose. No poll yesterday, so we have no results,
- 12:33Speaker 1: So let's do the nicest of the day and nicest
- 12:38Speaker 1: of the day of the Today Show hosts who are
- 12:40Speaker 1: holding it together amid really tight security concerns. So it
- 12:46Speaker 1: is a heavy morning for The Today Show as the
- 12:49Speaker 1: co hosts Craig Melvin, Chanel Jones and the rest of
- 12:53Speaker 1: the crew al are delivering a somber update every single
- 12:57Speaker 1: day about Savanna's miss mother Nancy. The anchors are putting
- 13:02Speaker 1: on a brave face they really are, but behind the
- 13:05Speaker 1: scenes things are really really rough over there. There has
- 13:08Speaker 1: been an increase in security. I broke that story first
- 13:11Speaker 1: that there was new security over at the Today show.
- 13:14Speaker 1: All the anchors now are being treated with real, real
- 13:18Speaker 1: serious care. They are worried if this turns out to
- 13:21Speaker 1: be something related to Savannah being on television. It is
- 13:24Speaker 1: absolutely terrifying. It's terrifying either way. But the anchors that
- 13:29Speaker 1: are now working Craig Chanel have increased security. There is
- 13:33Speaker 1: an increased NYPD present around Studio one A, but they
- 13:37Speaker 1: are continuing with the show with this enormous amount of pressure.
- 13:41Speaker 1: She's not just a co worker, she's a friend. They
- 13:43Speaker 1: loved Savannah, they absolutely loved Savannah, and this is just
- 13:48Speaker 1: heartbreaking and they are working through it, working through it.
- 13:53Speaker 1: Nicest of the day in a really, really, really tough situation,
- 13:57Speaker 1: and now I naughty is the day. Naughty, naughty, naughty
- 13:59Speaker 1: Putty spe his parents. She is revealing even more taken
- 14:02Speaker 1: to social media, saying she's lucky to be alive and
- 14:05Speaker 1: she's scared of her family. In a new Instagram post,
- 14:09Speaker 1: the pop icon said she's lucky to be alive after
- 14:12Speaker 1: the way that her family treated her, add in quote,
- 14:16Speaker 1: I'm scared of them. Britney reflected on years of isolation,
- 14:20Speaker 1: control and betrayal, saying her wounds can be forgiven, but
- 14:24Speaker 1: she will never ever be forgotten. They'll never be forgotten.
- 14:29Speaker 1: The post reopens painful memories from her conservatorship era, when
- 14:34Speaker 1: family members controlled nearly every aspect of her life. It
- 14:39Speaker 1: wasn't defiant, it wasn't dramatic. It was quiet and reflective
- 14:41Speaker 1: and absolutely chilling after everything else. Brittany is not seeking revenge.
- 14:47Speaker 1: She's just seeking some clarity, just heartbreaking analities of the day.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Let's end with a moment of Rob. You get a
- 14:53Speaker 1: robieta rob? You get a Rob? Stop talking down to people?
- 14:58Speaker 1: Is if you were born wise and he'll flawless. You weren't.
- 15:01Speaker 1: None of us are. Everyone is learning in real time.
- 15:04Speaker 1: We're all carrying mistakes that you don't see in the
- 15:07Speaker 1: battles that you never ever know about. You don't inspire
- 15:11Speaker 1: people by acting superior, No, you inspire them by being
- 15:15Speaker 1: honest about where you've been. Kindness cost nothing, absolutely nothing.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Grace costs even less. It's like someone who's learned, not
- 15:27Speaker 1: someone who has forgot. Hey, that is it for to day.
- 15:32Speaker 1: Thank you for listening to the Naughty but Nice with
- 15:34Speaker 1: Rob and memore t shirt. You're the co host today.
- 15:37Speaker 1: We're a production of iHeartRadio and Elvis Duran, don't forget
- 15:41Speaker 1: to check out my substack robshooter dot substack dot com.
- 15:44Speaker 1: It's an amazing platform where you can go there, put
- 15:48Speaker 1: in your email address, and then three four times a
- 15:50Speaker 1: day you'll get a really short news breaking piece of gossip, information,
- 15:55Speaker 1: entertainment news from me. I updated it throughout the day.
- 15:59Speaker 1: I try to do three at least a day, all
- 16:02Speaker 1: the breaking celebrity news, so you never need to go
- 16:04Speaker 1: to a celebrity website ever again. I will come to
- 16:08Speaker 1: you and my upcoming novel. I'm so proud of this novel.
- 16:11Speaker 1: It's called It Started with a Whisper. It's currently in
- 16:14Speaker 1: the top one hundred books on Amazon. I am thrilled,
- 16:17Speaker 1: I am honored, and it's all because of you naughties.
- 16:20Speaker 1: If you haven't bought it yet, please think about it.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Go to Amazon dot com type in it Started with
- 16:25Speaker 1: a Whisper or my name, Rob Shooter sh Uter. You
- 16:29Speaker 1: can buy it today. You can pre order it today,
- 16:31Speaker 1: and then in April, just a few months away, it
- 16:33Speaker 1: will land on your doorstep and we can all have
- 16:35Speaker 1: a reading club together. Should I start a book club? Well,
- 16:38Speaker 1: that's a good idea. Maybe we could read a chapter
- 16:40Speaker 1: a week and then discuss it on a special podcast. Hmmm,
- 16:44Speaker 1: I'm going to think about that one. And remember, let's
- 16:47Speaker 1: sign off altogether with a tagline that means the world
- 16:51Speaker 1: to me. And you remember, if you're going to be naughty,
- 16:56Speaker 1: you've got to be nice your son. Pamela's Pepperts don't
- 17:03Speaker 1: even nice with Rom.
