- 1:46Speaker 3: on throughout the day now, not the biggest snowfall as
- 1:48Speaker 3: far as accumulation goes. However, driving is going to be
- 1:52Speaker 3: pretty tricky, especially later in the day, because temperatures are
- 1:55Speaker 3: going to continue to drop. It's one of those rare
- 1:57Speaker 3: situations where your evening commute is going to be worse
- 1:59Speaker 3: than your morning commute was really not sticking a whole lot,

- 2:36Speaker 3: We have a few guests to start us off. They
- 2:37Speaker 3: want to welcome in first, David Payne, who is from
- 2:40Speaker 3: Charleston Riverfront Water Sports. Good morning, sir, welcome to the show.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Good morning, Thanks for having me. I was just sitting
- 2:45Speaker 3: there thanking man. Nothing would be better right now than
- 2:47Speaker 3: to be on the river on a day like today.
- 2:49Speaker 3: But I say that in jest. But you got some
- 2:53Speaker 3: things going on right through the holiday season. I mean
- 2:56Speaker 3: they would make it perfect, right, correct. Correct.
- 2:58Speaker 6: We started a service is called the Charleston Christmas Story Tour.
- 3:04Speaker 6: It's kind of like a Bronco tour through the city
- 3:05Speaker 6: of Charleston. It will we'll take people out to look
- 3:08Speaker 6: at the lights of Charleston, just take them to the
- 3:10Speaker 6: iconic neighborhoods and those kinds of things.
- 3:13Speaker 3: All right, Well, talk about the part on the river.
- 3:16Speaker 3: I mean, how did you start this company? Why did
- 3:18Speaker 3: you start this company?
- 3:18Speaker 6: Basically I started this company, Charleston Miverfront Water Sports, just
- 3:21Speaker 6: because I love being the water first of all, and
- 3:23Speaker 6: Charleston really lacked that here it would, you know, I
- 3:28Speaker 6: love being the water. Just want to give other people
- 3:30Speaker 6: opportunity to get on the water. We rent out basically pontoons, kayaks,
- 3:34Speaker 6: paddle boards, hydro bikes. It just gives people something to
- 3:37Speaker 6: do when they actually visit the city of Charleston.
- 3:40Speaker 3: And again we're talking about it's winter time. It's not
- 3:42Speaker 3: officially winter, but it looks like it out there right now.
- 3:44Speaker 3: But I know there was a lot of activities going
- 3:47Speaker 3: on on the river Saturday night, and the Saint Albans
- 3:49Speaker 3: had their boat parade Saturday night. There was all kinds
- 3:51Speaker 3: of cool things going on even this time of year.
- 3:53Speaker 6: Correct, correct, Yeah, boats are still out in the water. Actually,
- 3:56Speaker 6: we keep our boats on the water all year long.
- 3:58Speaker 6: So if there happens to be a day where it
- 4:00Speaker 6: actually becomes warm, if someone wants to get out in
- 4:02Speaker 6: the water, will take them.
- 4:03Speaker 3: All right, and that I mean, it's an exciting venture.
- 4:05Speaker 3: But to you're kind of like a serial entrepreneur man,
- 4:07Speaker 3: you've always got all kinds of things going on. Tell
- 4:09Speaker 3: we'll talk about some of the other things you've got
- 4:10Speaker 3: going on.
- 4:11Speaker 6: Well, uh, there's a lot of things going on really,
- 4:15Speaker 6: but really it's all based around Charleston Miriverfront water Sports.
- 4:18Speaker 3: I have an airbnb.
- 4:19Speaker 6: This ran the Charleston Miverfront water Sports basically the top
- 4:23Speaker 6: soft tour we're gonna have this summer. We're gonna have
- 4:25Speaker 6: the Kid Safari Tour on the water. We don't have
- 4:28Speaker 6: a zoo here or an aquarium, but it's our way
- 4:30Speaker 6: of basic getting the kids out in the water and
- 4:32Speaker 6: showing them wildlife.
- 4:33Speaker 3: So just a lot of cool things. Indeed, but Dave
- 4:36Speaker 3: Island showing five any life has brought to you apart
- 4:38Speaker 3: by Pinnacle Consultants, Poor indoor air quality can cause a
- 4:41Speaker 3: variety of health issues allergies, respiratory problems, and more. Pedical

- 4:50Speaker 3: you don't know can't hurt you. Now, you also know
- 4:53Speaker 3: a little something about even though I think you're retired now,
- 4:55Speaker 3: but you also know a little something about the Charleston
- 4:59Speaker 3: Police Department in there annual toy drivers or something you've
- 5:01Speaker 3: been a part of over the years. Oh, sure, definitely.
- 5:04Speaker 3: It's a great, great program.
- 5:05Speaker 6: I'm glad that they're actually keeping up and going because
- 5:07Speaker 6: they service a lot of kids throughout the Canaw Valley.
- 5:11Speaker 6: It's something that's, uh, I always look forward to every year,
- 5:14Speaker 6: and I'm glad these guys are still looking forward to it.
- 5:16Speaker 3: Indeed, and these guys are me. Have you introduced yourselves again, gentlemen,
- 5:20Speaker 3: I'm Travis Bells, Charleston Police Partent man John Brown with
- 5:23Speaker 3: the Asteric Auto of Charleston. Also know it's Big John.
- 5:26Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 5:27Speaker 3: When you when you when you're large a stature and
- 5:30Speaker 3: you have the name John, you're automatically Big John. You
- 5:33Speaker 3: realize that, right, It.
- 5:34Speaker 7: Just goes with the name.
- 5:35Speaker 3: I guess they'll the size. Travis will start with you.
- 5:38Speaker 3: Let's talk about why does Charleston Police do this and
- 5:41Speaker 3: what is the program?
- 5:42Speaker 8: Well, every year for the last six years, thanks live
- 5:45Speaker 8: now retired Lieutenant Payne, we've gathered toys for as many
- 5:49Speaker 8: kids as we can help in the community. You know,
- 5:51Speaker 8: prior to that we would do the you know, the
- 5:53Speaker 8: shop with the cop but Lieutenant Payne figured, you know,
- 5:56Speaker 8: this would be a better way to reach more children.
- 5:58Speaker 8: So with the help of ask Borgatto, We've and all
- 6:01Speaker 8: our other sponsors, we've been able to reach hundreds of
- 6:04Speaker 8: children each year. So we're excited to keep that trend going.
- 6:07Speaker 8: We'll be up at the South Ridge Sam's Club this
- 6:09Speaker 8: year on the parking lot taking toys this weekend Friday,
- 6:14Speaker 8: Saturday and Sunday.
- 6:14Speaker 3: And what's the times on that.
- 6:16Speaker 8: We'll be there from eight to nine in the morning
- 6:18Speaker 8: till about eight or nine at night.
- 6:20Speaker 3: Well, then I want to ask you what was your
- 6:23Speaker 3: what was the original idea behind this? So about about
- 6:25Speaker 3: getting this thing and how long? How long has it
- 6:27Speaker 3: been going on?
- 6:28Speaker 6: This will be the sixth here, So basically when it
- 6:30Speaker 6: first started, it was during COVID. I reached out to
- 6:32Speaker 6: our FOP organization to see if we had money for
- 6:36Speaker 6: a shop with the cop and that year they didn't
- 6:39Speaker 6: have any money. And I said, basically, I never really
- 6:41Speaker 6: wanted us to be in that position again where we
- 6:43Speaker 6: couldn't go out and help kids. So I went to
- 6:45Speaker 6: the chief at the time and said, hey, listen, what
- 6:47Speaker 6: do you think about a toy drive? And he said,
- 6:49Speaker 6: let's roll with it. My idea back then basically was
- 6:51Speaker 6: having a truck, getting our truck going up under the
- 6:54Speaker 6: interstate and hopefully getting like a truckload of toys. One
- 6:58Speaker 6: thing led to the next, and it just came bigger
- 7:00Speaker 6: and better.
- 7:00Speaker 3: Reached out.
- 7:01Speaker 6: A lot of my friends at Low's Astorg actually called
- 7:04Speaker 6: me that week, and they've made it bigger and better.
- 7:07Speaker 6: That's how it all started.
- 7:08Speaker 3: Basically, how many if you had to put a ballpark
- 7:11Speaker 3: figure on either the number of kids that you've served
- 7:14Speaker 3: or the number of toys you distributed either one.
- 7:16Speaker 6: Well, I think last year it was probably close to
- 7:18Speaker 6: a thousand. We basically had about eight hundred kids that
- 7:22Speaker 6: signed up, but we also gave toys to our community centers,
- 7:26Speaker 6: our daycares.
- 7:27Speaker 4: I mean so many.
- 7:28Speaker 6: Toys went out last year. It was a huge I
- 7:30Speaker 6: would say probably close to a thousand.
- 7:32Speaker 3: And how do kids sign up for this?
- 7:35Speaker 8: Next week, after we've gathered most of our toys and
- 7:37Speaker 8: know how many we can help, we will open a
- 7:39Speaker 8: sign up link on the Charleston Police Department Facebook page.
- 7:43Speaker 8: There's also a Facebook page just for the Winner Winnerland
- 7:45Speaker 8: Toy Drive itself, which you can find easily off our
- 7:47Speaker 8: page or just you to do a Facebook search. But
- 7:49Speaker 8: we will open that up on there for anybody to
- 7:51Speaker 8: sign up. They can list how many kids they have,
- 7:53Speaker 8: their ages, and we'll until we're full well, will help
- 7:57Speaker 8: as many kids as we can.
- 7:58Speaker 3: And this is open to any parent or grandparent that
- 8:01Speaker 3: wants to put a kid on or I guess anybody
- 8:03Speaker 3: for that matter.
- 8:03Speaker 8: Right, Yeah, I'm not gonna turn any kids a way.
- 8:05Speaker 8: As long as we have the toys, we're gonna get
- 8:07Speaker 8: them out.
- 8:07Speaker 3: All right. And uh, John, let's talk about Astrogato's part
- 8:11Speaker 3: in and in this whole thing.
- 8:13Speaker 9: Well, Rob King and uh sergeant well Lieutenant Payne kind
- 8:18Speaker 9: of really got this started with astrokar of Charleston, and
- 8:22Speaker 9: then I think the following year I became Rob said,
- 8:25Speaker 9: hey man, we need some more helping, you know, getting
- 8:27Speaker 9: this thing out, and worried out about the toy drive
- 8:29Speaker 9: that we're we're coming involved with and an Astroig is
- 8:34Speaker 9: on board with it every year. You know Jamie Spears,
- 8:37Speaker 9: he's he's a very good owner and he wants to
- 8:39Speaker 9: try to help the community all all that he can.
- 8:41Speaker 9: So anything for the Charleston Police Apartment. I say, hey, Jamie,
- 8:45Speaker 9: I need to check. He said, Okay, go upstairs and
- 8:47Speaker 9: talk to Terry. But if you got toys and you
- 8:50Speaker 9: want to drop them off, like Sergeant Travis said up
- 8:53Speaker 9: in our last interview, which is a good idea. So uh,
- 8:58Speaker 9: if you see a Charleston Police Department just you know,
- 9:01Speaker 9: flagging or whatever, just driving and you can't make it
- 9:04Speaker 9: up to the to the new location at the Sam's
- 9:07Speaker 9: parking lot, just say hey, could you get these toys
- 9:09Speaker 9: to Lieutenant Sergeant Travis and Big John for the toy
- 9:14Speaker 9: drive so they could drop them off to our truck
- 9:17Speaker 9: that we're going to have at station at the at
- 9:19Speaker 9: the location.
- 9:20Speaker 3: So anybody know what the hottest toys are this year,
- 9:22Speaker 3: what everybody's gonna be asking for. Because I don't I
- 9:24Speaker 3: don't have kids, so I wouldn't know.
- 9:26Speaker 8: I have no idea that borderline to where they more
- 9:30Speaker 8: lut electronics and clothes. I'm not really I'm not really
- 9:32Speaker 8: sure about the tickle me elmos of the day.
- 9:35Speaker 3: The yeah, but well see my my generation, it was
- 9:39Speaker 3: all hot wheels and matchboxing, I'm you know, those all
- 9:42Speaker 3: those all that stuff. So about as you know astwords
- 9:46Speaker 3: auto uh and you guys always go above and beyond
- 9:49Speaker 3: when it comes to doing things like this. Do you
- 9:52Speaker 3: get to actually go out when they when they distribute
- 9:54Speaker 3: the toys are I know, you folks will probably usually there,
- 9:56Speaker 3: aren't you.
- 9:57Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm there.
- 9:58Speaker 9: We have it set up at the Civic center. I'm
- 10:00Speaker 9: sure we'll be at the same location. And some parents,
- 10:05Speaker 9: you know, they you know, they work and don't have
- 10:07Speaker 9: you know, some of the kids are still a little
- 10:09Speaker 9: and not able to I guess they don't have babysitters
- 10:12Speaker 9: that day. So you do see some of the kids
- 10:15Speaker 9: come in with the parents and it is kind of
- 10:17Speaker 9: a real touchy feeling, you know, you know, Lieutenant Payne
- 10:21Speaker 9: walk the kid around and let them pick out whatever
- 10:23Speaker 9: toys that they want, and you know, it was.
- 10:25Speaker 4: It's just it's just it's just it's just good.
- 10:27Speaker 9: It's for a good cause and it's it's a really
- 10:29Speaker 9: good feeling.
- 10:29Speaker 3: The kids in the candy store analogy, Oh the kids
- 10:33Speaker 3: under toys. We'll tell them go pick you know, three
- 10:35Speaker 3: four toys.
- 10:36Speaker 9: And you know, because some people will come in and say, well,
- 10:38Speaker 9: I signed up and I didn't get the email. And
- 10:41Speaker 9: if we have some leftovers, you know, like you know,
- 10:44Speaker 9: Lieutenant Payne and Sergeant Travis said, we don't want to
- 10:47Speaker 9: leave any kids out.
- 10:48Speaker 4: You know, nobody's going to.
- 10:49Speaker 3: Be left behind.
- 10:50Speaker 9: So we're going to try to distribute as many as
- 10:52Speaker 9: that we can.
- 10:52Speaker 3: If I know, Astok is the kind of the presenting
- 10:55Speaker 3: sponsor on this, but any other businesses out there or
- 10:58Speaker 3: organizations that would like to get involved, you know, civic
- 11:00Speaker 3: groups or maybe a school as a service project would
- 11:03Speaker 3: like to take this on. How would they do that?
- 11:05Speaker 3: How would they get involved?
- 11:06Speaker 9: Well, you can reach out to me my cell phone
- 11:10Speaker 9: three zero four four one five five two zero eight.
- 11:13Speaker 9: You can stop by astrok Auto of Charleston Extra, John
- 11:16Speaker 9: Brown or Rob King. You can drop toys off at
- 11:20Speaker 9: any of our locations. We also have a location on
- 11:23Speaker 9: Patrick Street Plaza Asteroid location and also we're up at
- 11:27Speaker 9: the main facilities of the South Ridge next to Applebee's.
- 11:31Speaker 3: All right, give us the details again, Go ahead, Travis.
- 11:33Speaker 8: Yeah, it'll be this weekend Friday, starrying Sunday the twelve
- 11:36Speaker 8: thirteenth or fourteenth, at the Sames Club parking lot. Well,
- 11:38Speaker 8: you won't be able to miss this, so we're going
- 11:40Speaker 8: to have all kinds of decorations. We'll be there taking
- 11:43Speaker 8: toys and get them into the hands of the kids
- 11:44Speaker 8: that need them.
- 11:45Speaker 3: Well, somebody, I know Thursday night, the Charleston Christmas Parade
- 11:48Speaker 3: is being held. I know you guys are going to
- 11:50Speaker 3: be really really busy there, but you probably have some
- 11:52Speaker 3: information you probably would accept. Somebody wanted to me you
- 11:54Speaker 3: don't want to get bogged down with toys when you're
- 11:56Speaker 3: trying to direct traffic or whatever, but not a horrible idea. Yeah, yeah,
- 12:00Speaker 3: bring them down there.
- 12:01Speaker 8: I'll probably be on Summer Street near our office there
- 12:03Speaker 8: in slack Plausa, So if you track me down, I'll
- 12:06Speaker 8: make sure I can at least I'll take them. I'll
- 12:08Speaker 8: find something to do with them.
- 12:08Speaker 3: What about cash donations if somebody wants to do that.
- 12:11Speaker 8: I know that the Charleston Sizons Police Academy Alumnae Association
- 12:14Speaker 8: is taking cash donations. There's a link to that on
- 12:18Speaker 8: the Facebook page as well.
- 12:19Speaker 3: All right, well guys, it's always a pleasure to have
- 12:22Speaker 3: you here. We're glad to be able to help you
- 12:23Speaker 3: out with this. Thanks for stopping by, which is the

- 15:11Speaker 3: five fifty eight fifty eight Tony the Taylor Text three
- 15:13Speaker 3: zero four nine three five five zero zero A. The
- 15:16Speaker 3: announcement came Friday that the Canawa County Emergency Ambulance Authority
- 15:20Speaker 3: and high Marked Blue Cross Blue Shield as it pertains
- 15:23Speaker 3: a reimbursement for the ambulance services, had reached an agreement.
- 15:25Speaker 3: Tom Sussman as a spokesperson for the ambulance service and
- 15:28Speaker 3: it joined us. Now, good morning, sir, and welcome to
- 15:30Speaker 3: the show.
- 15:30Speaker 7: Good morning, happy Snowy. Was this Monday?
- 15:33Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, it's a Monday. It's a Monday all around.
- 15:36Speaker 3: So what was we had you on when this news
- 15:39Speaker 3: first came out about the what's the word I'm looking
- 15:44Speaker 3: for about the conflict, if you will like a better term.
- 15:48Speaker 3: What was a major bone of contention here?
- 15:50Speaker 7: Well, the issue was that it cost a certain amount
- 15:53Speaker 7: to deliver ambulance services in this county and the level
- 15:57Speaker 7: of reimbursement that we were getting from high Mark was
- 16:01Speaker 7: below that cost, and we needed to readjust those rates.
- 16:07Speaker 7: Don't believe that they were in a position that they
- 16:09Speaker 7: wanted to do that, and so if you can't make
- 16:12Speaker 7: it work, then you basically have to decide how you
- 16:16Speaker 7: want to proceed. And the authority decided to give them
- 16:20Speaker 7: a nose of cancelation, and then we kind of went
- 16:23Speaker 7: back and forth for about a month and a half
- 16:25Speaker 7: and I only came to an agreement and rescinded the cancelation.
- 16:29Speaker 3: Well, and when I had you on a couple of
- 16:32Speaker 3: months ago, when this news first came out, you know,
- 16:34Speaker 3: we were hopeful that we would get that we would
- 16:36Speaker 3: get it settled and get it sut settled relatively quickly.
- 16:39Speaker 3: And it seems to me like you did.
- 16:40Speaker 7: Well. I mean, it took a while. But what we
- 16:42Speaker 7: wanted to do is there were folks that were making
- 16:44Speaker 7: decision on their Medicare advantage for Blue Cross, Blue Shield
- 16:48Speaker 7: or Human or whomever, and so we wanted to give
- 16:51Speaker 7: them plenty of notice of what we were doing. And
- 16:53Speaker 7: we also wanted to give them notice you know, the
- 16:56Speaker 7: deadlines today, to let them know that, hey, you know,
- 16:59Speaker 7: we've gotten it, got.
- 17:00Speaker 3: It resolved, okay, all right, So I guess it took
- 17:02Speaker 3: a little bit longer than I thought that. Yeah, yeah, okay,
- 17:06Speaker 3: And how were the negotiations. I don't know if you
- 17:08Speaker 3: were actually part of it. I know you're the spokesparts,
- 17:10Speaker 3: but how were the negotiations.
- 17:11Speaker 7: We're fine. I mean, you go back and forth. It's
- 17:13Speaker 7: the normal negotiations. You know, they get mad at you,
- 17:16Speaker 7: You get mad at them, they get mad at you,
- 17:17Speaker 7: You get back at you.
- 17:18Speaker 3: Then you come to well, luckily you have a little
- 17:21Speaker 3: bit of background in that, being in the legislature as
- 17:23Speaker 3: you were for years and being in the political game,
- 17:25Speaker 3: you know, so you had a little bit of background
- 17:26Speaker 3: in this.
- 17:27Speaker 7: And I'd worked with the MS Coalition probably twenty years
- 17:31Speaker 7: ago before I went into state government with Governor Wise,
- 17:35Speaker 7: and we'd gone back and forth. So this is this
- 17:37Speaker 7: is there, and the reality is that the cost to
- 17:43Speaker 7: deliver ambulance service is pretty significant. You have to be
- 17:46Speaker 7: ready to deliver that. And the folks that are paying
- 17:49Speaker 7: for these services, especially these third party payers and terms companies,
- 17:53Speaker 7: they need to pay their fair share. We weren't asking
- 17:55Speaker 7: them to pay dollars above what was their responsibility. We
- 17:59Speaker 7: weren't trying to, you know, have them pay for people
- 18:02Speaker 7: who couldn't pay what.
- 18:03Speaker 3: Would have been tom the worst case scenario.
- 18:06Speaker 7: Here rab the worst case scenario is that had there
- 18:09Speaker 7: not been a contract come to or an agreement agreed to,
- 18:14Speaker 7: then folks who were in Blue Cross blue Shield would
- 18:17Speaker 7: have been billed by the ambulance agency and not build
- 18:21Speaker 7: to blue Cross, and then we would have had to
- 18:22Speaker 7: go for those folks to collect. And Blue Cross is
- 18:27Speaker 7: one of the few ambulance companies that if you're a
- 18:29Speaker 7: few insurance companies rather that if you're a non contracted provider,
- 18:34Speaker 7: they send the payment directly to the member and the
- 18:37Speaker 7: member cannot do an assignment of benefits to the provider.
- 18:40Speaker 7: So like if you go into the hospital and you
- 18:43Speaker 7: have to go to the emergency room, people signed papers,
- 18:46Speaker 7: those bills are paid to the hospital and not to
- 18:51Speaker 7: the individual. With Blue Cross, they want those dollars, they
- 18:54Speaker 7: want those those moneys to go to the member if
- 18:57Speaker 7: they're a non contracted provider. And for e merging care,
- 19:00Speaker 7: you don't get to choose your provider. You don't get
- 19:03Speaker 7: to choose the patient. So if you're a physical therapist,
- 19:06Speaker 7: not to pick on center attire, but if you're a
- 19:08Speaker 7: physical therapist and I want to get service, his folks
- 19:12Speaker 7: can take a look and see if he's got insurance
- 19:14Speaker 7: and don't have insurance and they can deal with it accordingly.
- 19:18Speaker 7: With an emergency call, you can't make that decision. You
- 19:21Speaker 7: have to go take care of the patient. You have
- 19:23Speaker 7: to go bring that person to the hospital. That's the
- 19:25Speaker 7: duty of an ambulance company. Well, in that situation, those
- 19:28Speaker 7: reimbursements should be treated differently than scheduled care. And so
- 19:33Speaker 7: one of the by products that this is that I
- 19:35Speaker 7: think the Authority and other members of the coalition are
- 19:38Speaker 7: going to ask the legislature to deal with this. Is
- 19:41Speaker 7: it's been dealt with. I think in forty some other
- 19:43Speaker 7: states where for emergent care there is an automatic assignment
- 19:47Speaker 7: of benefits if the member wants it.
- 19:49Speaker 3: Talking to Tom Susman, it's nine twenty seven the Dave
- 19:52Speaker 3: Island Show on five of d Line is broad to
- 19:54Speaker 3: part by Morgan to Morgan, America's largest injury law firm.
- 19:57Speaker 3: And I think there is a I think a miss
- 20:00Speaker 3: conception sometimes time that people will think that, well, if
- 20:03Speaker 3: I have to go to the er, whether it's an
- 20:04Speaker 3: ambulance called or whatever, that I can be turned away.
- 20:06Speaker 3: They cannot turn you away.
- 20:08Speaker 7: Now, you can't. First off, in an ambulans emergency, anlets
- 20:12Speaker 7: is not going to turn you away in the hospital.
- 20:14Speaker 7: There's this federal law it's called MTALA don't tell me.
- 20:17Speaker 7: I can't tell you what it stands for, but it
- 20:20Speaker 7: requires them to triage and stabilize. And so, yeah, you're
- 20:25Speaker 7: not going to get turned away from the hospital.
- 20:27Speaker 3: Are you liberty to discuss the actual negotiations? I mean
- 20:30Speaker 3: any of the details that went into that.
- 20:32Speaker 4: Well, we worked through and we.
- 20:33Speaker 7: Made it where what we came to agreement on includes
- 20:36Speaker 7: our commercial business and ASO business, and it also covers
- 20:43Speaker 7: Medicare advantage and it's a pretty decent What's also been
- 20:47Speaker 7: a nice byproduct is we've heard from other insurance companies
- 20:49Speaker 7: that we were going to go to to talk with
- 20:51Speaker 7: them about contracts. So it's really opened the door for
- 20:54Speaker 7: multiple contracts with different insurance companies.
- 20:57Speaker 3: Well, we have a story written about it, Aaron Parker
- 21:00Speaker 3: did Friday afternoon at wv metronews dot com. If you
- 21:02Speaker 3: want to go read more about it. Well, I guess congratulations.
- 21:05Speaker 3: Are glad glad that it got taken care of it? Well,
- 21:07Speaker 3: congratulations not the right word, but I'm glad I got
- 21:09Speaker 3: taken care of I.
- 21:10Speaker 7: Mean, did we get everything we wanted?
- 21:11Speaker 12: No?
- 21:12Speaker 7: Did they get everything? They wanted no, So I guess
- 21:14Speaker 7: it's a good agreement.
- 21:15Speaker 4: All right.
- 21:16Speaker 3: Can we talk a little politics while you're here, Yes, sir?
- 21:18Speaker 3: All right? Right, so we got the interims are going
- 21:22Speaker 3: on now, people starting to look ahead to the special
- 21:25Speaker 3: session or I mean, I'm sorry to the regular session.
- 21:27Speaker 3: Anything anything that sticks out to you that you that
- 21:30Speaker 3: you think that is going to be big this time around.
- 21:33Speaker 3: I mean it is an election year, you know, the
- 21:35Speaker 3: all the House seats are up, some of the Senate
- 21:37Speaker 3: seats are up. So does anything get done now?
- 21:40Speaker 7: I was saying with someone and I think they're going
- 21:42Speaker 7: to try and look at this this tax on intangibles again,
- 21:46Speaker 7: and I think this little property tax work around to
- 21:49Speaker 7: try and figure out how you deal with that, because
- 21:51Speaker 7: I don't know that it's it's functioning as well. I
- 21:54Speaker 7: heard that that's that's always a good one. And then
- 21:57Speaker 7: the government keeps talking about some kind of tax relief,
- 21:59Speaker 7: so I don't know where that takes us. And then
- 22:02Speaker 7: if the if the federal government does not renew these
- 22:05Speaker 7: federal tax credits, then the question is going to become
- 22:08Speaker 7: as what does the state do. When I'm saying tax
- 22:10Speaker 7: credits for for the affordable care Act, What does the
- 22:14Speaker 7: state do for a for folks who are uninsured bull
- 22:17Speaker 7: those are folks who are too sick to get insurance
- 22:20Speaker 7: and p E I. There'll be some discussion on p I,
- 22:23Speaker 7: but a three percent increase compared to what's going on
- 22:25Speaker 7: in the in the private market, that's not a bad increase. Vaccines,
- 22:30Speaker 7: I'll call that will be a big one. That one
- 22:32Speaker 7: will well, we'll be back to the vaccine. And that's
- 22:34Speaker 7: one where And I think what's interesting is so within
- 22:39Speaker 7: the Republican Party you now have the closed Republican primaries.
- 22:43Speaker 7: So therefore I think that the members who are nominated
- 22:46Speaker 7: from the Republican Party will be much more conservative than
- 22:51Speaker 7: a lot of the current members by virtue of that.
- 22:54Speaker 7: So then does that open the door for moderate Democrats
- 22:57Speaker 7: and I mean moderate, not not the far right far
- 22:59Speaker 7: left to pick up some seats. It's going to change
- 23:02Speaker 7: the whole complexion of the legislature.
- 23:05Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 23:06Speaker 3: Here's my take on it when it comes to and
- 23:09Speaker 3: you're absolutely right about the Republican Party. I mean some
- 23:13Speaker 3: of the members that are that are in there now
- 23:15Speaker 3: and I'm not going to mention anyone specifically, but there
- 23:17Speaker 3: are certain members that serve in this area that are
- 23:19Speaker 3: considered pretty far right, but we're now seeing people that
- 23:23Speaker 3: are saying that those people aren't far right enough exactly.
- 23:26Speaker 7: And then you have a whole group of moderature running
- 23:28Speaker 7: candidates to try and take out members of the state
- 23:32Speaker 7: Senate who are too conservative, and I think their issue
- 23:35Speaker 7: is going to be this closed primary, because the closed
- 23:38Speaker 7: primary is going to lean even more to the far right.
- 23:41Speaker 3: Do you think Senator Justice wants to come back and
- 23:44Speaker 3: run for governor in twenty sixteen? You know, twenty sixteen?
- 23:47Speaker 4: What year?
- 23:49Speaker 3: No, you're wrong, twenty We're in the wrong decade, were
- 23:54Speaker 3: the wrong?
- 23:55Speaker 2: You know?
- 23:55Speaker 7: I think probably there's some nostalgia. But then when you
- 23:58Speaker 7: think about it being in the senate's not a bad gig.
- 24:01Speaker 7: I mean, you know, probably you know what they call it,
- 24:04Speaker 7: the most exclusive men's club or club in the world.
- 24:09Speaker 7: You know, I don't. And then you come back here
- 24:11Speaker 7: and then you've got to worry about all the various
- 24:12Speaker 7: things that happens.
- 24:14Speaker 3: I would say, not all right, Well, we'll see, all right,

- 28:06Speaker 3: Speaking to the Championships, we had a lot of folks
- 28:08Speaker 3: asking about Joe Bricado. Joe Bacado, we called him the
- 28:12Speaker 3: hardest working man in sports, and of course he does
- 28:15Speaker 3: writing for us, he does on air, he does videography.
- 28:18Speaker 3: He just got ran over on the sidelines, Darren. I
- 28:21Speaker 3: don't mean to laugh about it during one of the
- 28:23Speaker 3: games over it lately and a little scary there for
- 28:25Speaker 3: a minute. I wasn't at the game. But I had
- 28:27Speaker 3: a friend of mine that was watching it on Metro
- 28:29Speaker 3: News television and he texted me and he said, is
- 28:32Speaker 3: Joe all right? And I said, well, I don't know.
- 28:35Speaker 3: And it was during the Saturday afternoon game and I
- 28:38Speaker 3: was able to talk to Joe Saturday night. He was
- 28:41Speaker 3: taken to the hospital. I mean, you imagine the fourth
- 28:44Speaker 3: of those players coming right at you. You didn't see
- 28:46Speaker 3: it coming, and he ran over. But Joe Bro is
- 28:50Speaker 3: a trooper, and he was saying to the hospital and
- 28:52Speaker 3: released and is recovering. He did have to watch the
- 28:56Speaker 3: Nitro game from his hotel room from what I understand though,
- 28:59Speaker 3: because they that's probably not a good idea for you
- 29:01Speaker 3: to go back on the sideline, so they put him.
- 29:04Speaker 3: He went back to the hotel and finished the game there.
- 29:06Speaker 3: But Joe Bro is gonna be all right. Danny Jones
- 29:09Speaker 3: is with us right now. Good morning, sir, Welcome to
- 29:11Speaker 3: the show.
- 29:12Speaker 4: Danny Bro, Danny Bro, you like that?
- 29:14Speaker 3: No, Danny Bro, you know I want to ask you
- 29:17Speaker 3: this because of course, there's a lot on the weather
- 29:20Speaker 3: right now, not a huge snowstorm, any stretching the imagination,
- 29:23Speaker 3: but it is going to cost some slick travel already
- 29:26Speaker 3: a little bit, but especially like this afternoon, it's going
- 29:28Speaker 3: to be really really slick as folks start to head home.
- 29:31Speaker 3: As a mayor, I'm sure you probably don't miss that,
- 29:33Speaker 3: do you having to watch the weather. I meant you
- 29:36Speaker 3: had quality people in charge of the streets, but I
- 29:38Speaker 3: mean you got to be a big part of it
- 29:39Speaker 3: as well. That's probably one part of being mayor you
- 29:41Speaker 3: don't miss.
- 29:42Speaker 7: Right, And.
- 29:44Speaker 4: You know, they make a big deal of this new
- 29:46Speaker 4: mayor in New York. He's you know what he's gonna
- 29:49Speaker 4: find out. He's gonna find out about snow, about garbage,
- 29:56Speaker 4: about police and fire. He doesn't realize he's gonna that's
- 30:04Speaker 4: all part of being in the weeds is mayor. And
- 30:08Speaker 4: he thinks this is gonna be he's gonna be have
- 30:10Speaker 4: a foreign policy and you know, invade Israel or do
- 30:15Speaker 4: something like that.
- 30:17Speaker 3: But he needs to be more concerned about, yeah, just
- 30:21Speaker 3: about the brocks that he does Israel.
- 30:23Speaker 4: Just well, just the nuts and bolts of being mayor.
- 30:26Speaker 4: And you've got to have a certain amount of salt
- 30:31Speaker 4: backed up over their street department, and you have to
- 30:37Speaker 4: picking up garbage. It's a big deal. And if you
- 30:42Speaker 4: think it's not a big deal, try going without it.
- 30:44Speaker 4: We had a garbage strike in nineteen seventy two and
- 30:48Speaker 4: I was working at the graveyard. I was taking graves
- 30:53Speaker 4: and they came up there and this one guy is
- 30:56Speaker 4: still alive. They came up there and there was three
- 31:01Speaker 4: guys in a car and the guy in the back
- 31:04Speaker 4: seat was as big as a back seat, and he
- 31:07Speaker 4: has shotgun. And they told us to get off the
- 31:11Speaker 4: hill and be at the council meeting on Monday night.
- 31:15Speaker 4: And it was a raucous council meeting. Who was mayor
- 31:18Speaker 4: at that time, Hutchinson, and so garbage dollars started piling up.
- 31:26Speaker 4: It was a street department. It was a garage, a
- 31:30Speaker 4: garbage strike. It was a garbage strike in the street department.
- 31:34Speaker 4: Everybody went out and it was and Hutcheson stood up
- 31:40Speaker 4: and and and beat them and a bunch of people.
- 31:43Speaker 4: You know, people worked for the city generationally. I mean
- 31:48Speaker 4: you have family after family that their kids, their grandparents, everybody,
- 31:54Speaker 4: they stay at the city. Well this interrupted that because
- 31:57Speaker 4: they fired a lot of people and I left. I
- 32:00Speaker 4: went and started selling bottled water for Tyler Mountain.
- 32:04Speaker 3: Remember that was one of your jobs. You had, yeah,
- 32:06Speaker 3: a job. I mean everybody knows mayor, sheriff and all
- 32:10Speaker 3: this other stuff. But if you got down with a
- 32:12Speaker 3: piece of paper and you wrote down how many different
- 32:13Speaker 3: jobs have you had?
- 32:14Speaker 4: Thirty five?
- 32:15Speaker 3: Now that's thirty five different places you worked at thirty
- 32:18Speaker 3: five different job at different occupations.
- 32:20Speaker 4: Well, there's not that many job because I mean I
- 32:25Speaker 4: was a waiter at Greenboro Military School. I've got that listed.
- 32:29Speaker 4: That's not a job. I mean I got paid, but
- 32:35Speaker 4: and I was on the Civic Center board of directors.
- 32:39Speaker 4: That's not the job. So but I don't know. I
- 32:43Speaker 4: had quite a few. And sometimes i'd worked two and
- 32:46Speaker 4: three at one time. When I was a junior in
- 32:49Speaker 4: high school, I worked two jobs at one time.
- 32:54Speaker 3: How are things going with the book?
- 32:57Speaker 4: Well, we saw all we completely sold out, and I've
- 33:00Speaker 4: got two hundred more copies coming in. But and when
- 33:05Speaker 4: when will those being I'd say, I'd say ten days.
- 33:12Speaker 3: What's the uh? Since we talked last week? People that
- 33:15Speaker 3: I mean, because I know you said you're completely sold out,
- 33:17Speaker 3: So I know whether you have any new copies out there,
- 33:19Speaker 3: but maybe somebody's read some other or somebody let somebody
- 33:21Speaker 3: borrow it or whatever. What are you hearing out there
- 33:23Speaker 3: about the book. What do people think about What's what's
- 33:25Speaker 3: a Responseibil.
- 33:26Speaker 4: Well, I don't know. If anybody didn't like it, they
- 33:28Speaker 4: would tell me.
- 33:30Speaker 3: Well I would tell you, because I'm your friend, I
- 33:32Speaker 3: probably tell you off the air. But I enjoyed it.
- 33:34Speaker 3: I thoroughly enjoyed it. I finished it in like a
- 33:36Speaker 3: couple of evenings, you know, back to back.
- 33:38Speaker 4: And I have a friend in North Carolina, lives in Wilmington,
- 33:43Speaker 4: and he is he's practiced law here and uh, he
- 33:48Speaker 4: practiced with Rudy de trappin though, and uh he called me,
- 33:52Speaker 4: he said, man, that was great, and it was there.
- 33:58Speaker 4: It's a mix of my crazy life when I was
- 34:02Speaker 4: when I was young. But there's Charleston history there well.
- 34:07Speaker 3: And it's not just when you were young. I mean
- 34:09Speaker 3: you also you dive into a lot of your last
- 34:12Speaker 3: administration and the battle with it, with the needle issue
- 34:16Speaker 3: and some other things that are that are a little
- 34:17Speaker 3: bit more current or within the last ten you know,
- 34:21Speaker 3: the last term that you had.
- 34:22Speaker 4: Yeah, it was just for the record, I just thought
- 34:25Speaker 4: i'd mention Huntington close down their needle program. So it
- 34:32Speaker 4: was the right thing to do.
- 34:35Speaker 3: So you mentioned it. You asked me if I if
- 34:38Speaker 3: I saw Marjorie Taylor Green on sixty Minutes last night.
- 34:40Speaker 7: I did not.
- 34:41Speaker 3: I meant to watch it and I forgot. I'm gonna
- 34:43Speaker 3: go check it out later today online. What's you take
- 34:45Speaker 3: away from the MTG interview?
- 34:47Speaker 4: It's on YouTube. I felt sorry for I mean, her
- 34:58Speaker 4: views and my views obviously different. She doesn't think we
- 35:04Speaker 4: ought to be involved in Israel or Iran or any
- 35:07Speaker 4: of that stuff because I'm America First. And you know, folks,
- 35:15Speaker 4: we had an America First Movement. Please google it, America
- 35:21Speaker 4: First Committee and google it. It was led by a
- 35:25Speaker 4: guy named Charles Lindbergh, and it helped get us into
- 35:29Speaker 4: World War Two. She's an isolationist, but she didn't deserve
- 35:36Speaker 4: to be treated the way Trump treated her. Call her
- 35:40Speaker 4: Marjory Trayer Green. And he never had a bigger supporter
- 35:45Speaker 4: in Congress. Yeah.
- 35:46Speaker 3: I think had is the key word there.
- 35:47Speaker 4: Yeah, And it's just because she she wanted to open
- 35:53Speaker 4: up those Epstein files. That's what he got mad about
- 35:59Speaker 4: and started calling her names.
- 36:01Speaker 3: And now she's announced her resignation. What do you think
- 36:03Speaker 3: she does next? I think she runs for something else.
- 36:05Speaker 4: No, I think being in public life has really cost her,
- 36:12Speaker 4: cost her her marriage. I think it hurt her construction business.
- 36:18Speaker 4: Now she's opened up a gym and you know she
- 36:21Speaker 4: dead list.
- 36:23Speaker 3: Yeah, I've read that.
- 36:24Speaker 4: Yeah, she's a really strong lady physically, she's.
- 36:31Speaker 3: But I mean, in my opinion, I mean, she's going
- 36:34Speaker 3: to either have her own show or she's going to
- 36:38Speaker 3: be a frequent contributor because she's very whether you agree
- 36:41Speaker 3: with her or not, Danny, she's very well spoken in
- 36:44Speaker 3: what she says. And and you know, I'm gonna say
- 36:48Speaker 3: this is nicely as I as I can. You know,
- 36:50Speaker 3: she is not hard to look at, which helps. I
- 36:53Speaker 3: know that sounds like the most sexist statement in the world,
- 36:55Speaker 3: but it's true, male or female. If you're if you're
- 36:57Speaker 3: appealing on camera, people are going to watch.
- 37:01Speaker 4: Well, it won't be on Fox.
- 37:02Speaker 3: No, No, it won't be on Fox.
- 37:04Speaker 4: If it would be on anybody, it would be on CNN.
- 37:08Speaker 4: But she's been on with Dana Bash a few times.
- 37:17Speaker 4: But I like her and I felt bad for her.
- 37:20Speaker 4: And I just don't know why presence or has to
- 37:23Speaker 4: call people names. I don't I don't understand.
- 37:27Speaker 3: That's what he does, and in many cases that's what
- 37:29Speaker 3: his base wants and they love it.
- 37:33Speaker 4: Well, Marjorie or Taylor Green used to be part of
- 37:36Speaker 4: that base, a leading part of that base. And uh,
- 37:41Speaker 4: I just I think it's sad and she based her
- 37:45Speaker 4: campaign and her career right around him. Hey, there's I
- 37:50Speaker 4: just was watching up here on the TV and Netflix
- 37:55Speaker 4: came across the came across the screen and on Netflix
- 38:02Speaker 4: there's a thing called The Reckoning and it's done by
- 38:08Speaker 4: Curtis Jackson, also known as fifty cent yep, and it's
- 38:15Speaker 4: about P Diddy. Yeah, he's as evil as they come.
- 38:20Speaker 4: He's as bad as it gets.
- 38:22Speaker 10: Do you know that?
- 38:23Speaker 4: There's every reason to believe. And there's a trial next
- 38:27Speaker 4: year on a guy that was involved. It looks like
- 38:33Speaker 4: he's the one that paid deaf Tupac killed somebody.
- 38:37Speaker 3: A friend of mine who's really into the into that scene,
- 38:42Speaker 3: posted something on social media that he watched it and
- 38:44Speaker 3: he called it complete garbage. But I don't know. I mean,
- 38:46Speaker 3: it's in the eyes ears of the beholder, I get that.
- 38:49Speaker 3: But he he wasn't a fan of it. I mean,
- 38:52Speaker 3: my friend who really follows was not a fan of it.
- 38:54Speaker 3: He did I don't know if he just didn't believe
- 38:55Speaker 3: the story or what he didn't believe. Fifty's story, well,
- 39:00Speaker 3: most of its have better or a record. And people
- 39:05Speaker 3: don't like to have their heroes attack. Maybe that's what
- 39:07Speaker 3: it is. You know, they don't want to believe things
- 39:09Speaker 3: about their heroes. Maybe that's it. So I have to
- 39:11Speaker 3: check that out because I love stuff like that when
- 39:13Speaker 3: it comes to entertainment, biographies and things that I want
- 39:16Speaker 3: to ask you. You've been following the whole Pete Higgseth
- 39:19Speaker 3: drug boat story.
- 39:21Speaker 4: Okay, your take on it. I wouldn't have voted for
- 39:24Speaker 4: him to begin with. I don't like him. I mean,
- 39:27Speaker 4: I don't think he belonged there, and and I don't
- 39:31Speaker 4: think anything will come of it. The Democrats don't have
- 39:39Speaker 4: They will control Congress next year. They will win the election.
- 39:44Speaker 4: They will take over at least the House of Representatives
- 39:48Speaker 4: and maybe the Senate. I don't know how many Senate
- 39:50Speaker 4: seats are up or where they are up, but I
- 39:55Speaker 4: would look for Trump once that happens in the House,
- 39:59Speaker 4: I would look for him to the impeached, and that
- 40:01Speaker 4: might be a count.
- 40:03Speaker 3: I was watching one of the I think it was
- 40:05Speaker 3: this week yesterday morning, and they were talking to one
- 40:09Speaker 3: leading Republican. I can't I don't remember exactly who it
- 40:11Speaker 3: was right now, but they were talking to him and
- 40:12Speaker 3: they asked him about the the the drug boat story,
- 40:15Speaker 3: and it's just you could tell it was something right
- 40:17Speaker 3: out of the Trump playbook because he turned it around
- 40:20Speaker 3: and said, you know why the American people don't care
- 40:22Speaker 3: about this American the American people people care about this.
- 40:27Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 40:27Speaker 3: Well it was the pardoning of of of the of
- 40:31Speaker 3: the of the foreign leader that was that was in
- 40:33Speaker 3: West Virginia. He was in prison of West Virginia.
- 40:35Speaker 8: Uh.
- 40:36Speaker 3: And he was a convicted drug dealer, sold you know,
- 40:38Speaker 3: I mean a whole lot of cocaine in his time,
- 40:40Speaker 3: and Trump pardoned him former president of one of these
- 40:43Speaker 3: countries and yeah, Honduras, Yeah and uh and they said
- 40:48Speaker 3: that the uh this this representative said, well, the American
- 40:51Speaker 3: people don't really don't care about things like that.
- 40:54Speaker 4: Uh and forty tons of uh of cocaine coming in
- 40:59Speaker 4: this country. It'll about that, That's.
- 41:00Speaker 3: What they say.
- 41:02Speaker 4: Hmm exactly.
- 41:04Speaker 3: That was my response as well. But day violand showing
- 41:07Speaker 3: five Eddy Lives Brown's You Apart by Live Healthy West

- 41:14Speaker 3: episodes wv metronews dot com of the podcast. Man, You've
- 41:17Speaker 3: got a text here for you. It says, ask mayor Danny, uh.
- 41:20Speaker 3: I guess you're always referred to as mayor, aren't you,
- 41:22Speaker 3: even when you're not. It's kind of like being president.
- 41:24Speaker 3: You're always going to be referred to it.
- 41:25Speaker 4: Right right?
- 41:26Speaker 3: But it says, if he'll ever have the rod run
- 41:30Speaker 3: and do wop again in downtown, are you?
- 41:33Speaker 4: Why are you asking me?
- 41:34Speaker 3: I don't know. I guess maybe they think would you
- 41:37Speaker 3: support it? Or I mean, maybe that's what they're asking.
- 41:40Speaker 4: I always supported it. It was my It was my
- 41:43Speaker 4: car show, right I started it.
- 41:45Speaker 3: And and if you want to clear the air again,
- 41:47Speaker 3: because you made it a point a couple of weeks
- 41:49Speaker 3: ago you were the mayor.
- 41:51Speaker 4: Didn't she didn't shut it down. It was shut down
- 41:54Speaker 4: by the people that were running it. They shut it
- 41:57Speaker 4: down right at the end, so there wasn't time to replace. Okay,
- 42:01Speaker 4: it's really sad. Yeah, there was a beautiful car show.
- 42:04Speaker 3: But the text was on to say, great hearing Danny
- 42:06Speaker 3: on your program again. Thank you so and we like
- 42:09Speaker 3: to bring him. Look, you know who you look like
- 42:10Speaker 3: when you came in here today. You got the flannel
- 42:13Speaker 3: shirt and it looked like hal Holdbrook. I don't know why.
- 42:19Speaker 3: For some reason I thought it, maybe because I watched
- 42:21Speaker 3: an episode of The Sopranos over the weekend. They were
- 42:23Speaker 3: doing a marathon, and I love the Sopranos, and he
- 42:25Speaker 3: was he was on an episode of the Sopranos. Maybe
- 42:27Speaker 3: how Old Brooke was? Yeah, yeah, he was a He
- 42:30Speaker 3: was just like a one episode type deal. He was
- 42:32Speaker 3: in a hospital when Tony was recovering h from the
- 42:34Speaker 3: gunshot wound. He was also in the hospital and he
- 42:37Speaker 3: was very like played a philosopher and a very succesful
- 42:40Speaker 3: business type. But that's when I when you walked in,
- 42:42Speaker 3: the first thing I thought was here comes hell Holdbrook.
- 42:45Speaker 4: Yeah he was how Old Brookshit, he was a great actor.
- 42:50Speaker 4: I can't remember who's married to.
- 42:54Speaker 3: Was he married to Dixie Carter of Designing Women? Or
- 42:57Speaker 3: am I just totally making that up. I don't know
- 42:59Speaker 3: he was on the show. Tex says empty g referring
- 43:03Speaker 3: to Marjorie Taylor. Green deserves everything she's received. She's reaping
- 43:07Speaker 3: the toxicity from the toxic politics she's sown.
- 43:11Speaker 4: Well, she's apologized for that, and I you know, okay,
- 43:19Speaker 4: that's fair. Yeah, you know, you reap what you sow.
- 43:23Speaker 4: I just look at it. I guess because I'm seventy
- 43:25Speaker 4: five years old, I look at these things a little
- 43:28Speaker 4: different these days. I feel bad for I really do.
- 43:33Speaker 3: All Right, it's nine to fifty. We got to take
- 43:34Speaker 3: a break. We'll come back after this. On the Voice

- 44:02Speaker 12: There are no gimmicks or games at Walker, just honest,
- 44:05Speaker 12: fair deals, and the process at Walker is remarkably simple.

- 44:22Speaker 3: But why would you?
- 44:22Speaker 15: You know?
- 44:23Speaker 12: It's good to know that in a world full of
- 44:24Speaker 12: constant change, there are some things that remain consistent and
- 44:28Speaker 12: that some car dealers still believe in treating you like
- 44:30Speaker 12: a friend with a smile and a handshakee head to

- 46:14Speaker 3: Hegseth drug boat war crime is a perfect metaphor for
- 46:17Speaker 3: current America. You know they're lying details constantly, change or
- 46:21Speaker 3: come out the boat was going the opposite direction of
- 46:23Speaker 3: the US, but ultimately nothing will happen.
- 46:27Speaker 4: Well, the fact the boat was going in the opposite
- 46:31Speaker 4: direction doesn't mean much to me. But that doesn't mean
- 46:38Speaker 4: that those guys should have been shot. I don't know,
- 46:43Speaker 4: I don't know, but nothing.
- 46:45Speaker 3: And they talk about the you know, the drugs, and
- 46:48Speaker 3: I'm all about whatever it takes to keep the drugs
- 46:50Speaker 3: out of here. But if it's fentanyl they're talking about,
- 46:51Speaker 3: it's been proving time and time again, that's not where
- 46:53Speaker 3: fentanyl's coming.
- 46:54Speaker 4: From Mexico, from China through Mexico, Texas.
- 46:58Speaker 3: What trial related Tubax murderers Danny talking about.
- 47:02Speaker 4: Well, in the in the in the presentation, the guy
- 47:09Speaker 4: that shot first thing, P Diddy paid a million dollars
- 47:20Speaker 4: for the hit, but he wanted sug Knight killed also,
- 47:26Speaker 4: So there were two guys involved, and on a profer,
- 47:32Speaker 4: one guy confessed and he's the one going on trial. Okay,
- 47:38Speaker 4: And because they didn't kill sug Knight, you only got
- 47:42Speaker 4: a half a million dollars. So the guy that confessed,
- 47:45Speaker 4: he didn't get any money. So I'm just I'm telling
- 47:50Speaker 4: you to watch that if you want to watch, if
- 47:53Speaker 4: you're look, I'm an old man. I like to watch
- 47:56Speaker 4: stuff like that. I mean, I'm not I don't know
- 47:59Speaker 4: anything about rap or hip hop or and that stuff,
- 48:03Speaker 4: but except for the politics of it. And who doesn't
- 48:08Speaker 4: like Snoop Dogg.
- 48:10Speaker 3: I mean, I love you talk about somebody who has
- 48:13Speaker 3: who came out of nowhere and has made a career
- 48:16Speaker 3: out of just being Snoop Dogg. Forget about the music.
- 48:18Speaker 3: I mean, the guy's a star. I mean he's in
- 48:20Speaker 3: everything you know, and he has been and he has
- 48:23Speaker 3: been for over thirty years.
- 48:24Speaker 4: He's so smart, he's uh and you know, I'm friends
- 48:28Speaker 4: with people out in Long Beach. I'll see him this weekend.
- 48:32Speaker 4: I'm going out there this weekend. I'll see him. They
- 48:34Speaker 4: went to high school with it, you know, because he's
- 48:38Speaker 4: where he's from.
- 48:39Speaker 3: Yeah, tex says this is going to be along with
- 48:41Speaker 3: Danny so strap In. Why does Trump do it? It's
- 48:47Speaker 3: basically it's because basically amongst their own circles when we
- 48:51Speaker 3: hear a lot of anti American bes stuff from lefties
- 48:53Speaker 3: and Congress and the media, especially the self destruction infiltration
- 48:57Speaker 3: that happened to the Biden administration letting twelve mill illegals
- 49:00Speaker 3: in here, we say the same stuff. The only thing
- 49:03Speaker 3: is he says it publicly about his name calling really Hitler, nazi, pedophile,
- 49:08Speaker 3: white supremacist, racist, homophobe, transphobes, enophobe, et cetera. All this
- 49:12Speaker 3: stuff that he's been called for ten years by most
- 49:15Speaker 3: everybody who loved him before he came down that escalator
- 49:18Speaker 3: in twenty fifteen, not to mention trying to put him
- 49:20Speaker 3: in prison and being shot.
- 49:21Speaker 4: That's why that doesn't justify it. He's the president. You
- 49:26Speaker 4: think Nixon wasn't called names or any of these presidents.
- 49:31Speaker 3: We know Obama was, Clinton, and Reagan and Bush.
- 49:34Speaker 4: And yeah, sure they were. That doesn't justify it just
- 49:39Speaker 4: because he was called names. You don't. I made that mistake,
- 49:45Speaker 4: you know, taking the baits. He doesn't have to take
- 49:48Speaker 4: the bait now. It's I mean, it's a difference in style, right,
- 49:52Speaker 4: My style is Mitt Romney, that's my style, or Richard
- 49:56Speaker 4: Nixon not, That's just not my style.
- 50:01Speaker 3: Tex says Danny. Have you heard any specifics about the
- 50:03Speaker 3: large latest legal wrangling over the Hilton brand hotel at
- 50:07Speaker 3: the former Sears site. Matt Sutton said the whole group
- 50:10Speaker 3: is once again interfering and that hotel developer even completed
- 50:14Speaker 3: Has they ever completed a project in Charleston?
- 50:17Speaker 4: Oh what the Patels. Wonder who he's talking about?
- 50:24Speaker 3: Not TJ. Would you happen to know who the who
- 50:26Speaker 3: what we're talking about here? Not off the top of
- 50:28Speaker 3: my head.
- 50:28Speaker 4: Sorry, all right, Well, but he he lost that case,
- 50:33Speaker 4: you know, when they went to tear the building down.
- 50:35Speaker 4: He lost the case. The mall did. But you're talking
- 50:42Speaker 4: about the Hilton Gardens.
- 50:43Speaker 3: Yeah, and I mean it's it's gonna happen.
- 50:45Speaker 4: I believe that's the Patel group.
- 50:47Speaker 3: Okay, all right, So you and I have talked a
- 50:50Speaker 3: little bit about the town Center in the past, and
- 50:51Speaker 3: people keep circulating. There was a picture circul thing you
- 50:54Speaker 3: probably saw it on social media of the Santa Claus
- 50:56Speaker 3: sitting down there with nobody around.
- 50:58Speaker 4: It is sad, very sad, and it didn't need to happen.
- 51:04Speaker 4: But if you were intentionally trying to destroy enterprise, you
- 51:11Speaker 4: do exactly what they're doing Texas.
- 51:15Speaker 3: What about going back to the drug boats again, what
- 51:16Speaker 3: about the fact that the boats that have been blown up,
- 51:19Speaker 3: boats of that size, they can't get to America unless
- 51:21Speaker 3: they're carrying three thousand pounds of fuel. Which seems unlikely
- 51:25Speaker 3: if they're also carrying fentanyl.
- 51:27Speaker 4: Yeah, but that doesn't mean or cocaine. If you don't mind,
- 51:31Speaker 4: it's not fentanyl. But it doesn't mean they couldn't stop
- 51:35Speaker 4: somewhere and get gas one of the islands, you know.
- 51:40Speaker 4: But I mean, I'm lost. Nothing's gonna happen. It's just talk.
- 51:49Speaker 4: It's just something to absorb the space.
- 51:51Speaker 3: Does hag Seth keep his job?
- 51:54Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, he shouldn't.
- 51:56Speaker 3: Does he complete the term? I'll say that No, I
- 51:59Speaker 3: don't know. I don't think he will either. And that's
- 52:01Speaker 3: not uncommon, by the way, for secretaries of war or
- 52:04Speaker 3: defense or whatever you want to call him. You know
- 52:06Speaker 3: that that's not uncommon any.
- 52:07Speaker 4: Well, now he's going to have anywhere to go. Remember
- 52:10Speaker 4: he was a he was a he was a weekend
- 52:16Speaker 4: gown fox. Where's he gonna go.
- 52:20Speaker 3: He's gonna go to the Marjorie Taylor Green Route. He
- 52:22Speaker 3: can go back to that. I guess Danny will not
- 52:24Speaker 3: be with us next week. We'd be traveling. We'll see
- 52:25Speaker 3: you in two weeks, my friend. Thank you, thanks a lot.
- 52:27Speaker 3: I TJ. What you got today?
- 52:29Speaker 15: Matt Christiansen CDC has changed b VAX Guidance Hill outline.
- 52:33Speaker 15: We'll discuss cafe standards on automobiles. Chris Miller gets into
- 52:38Speaker 15: it with us on that, and then uh, we're also
- 52:40Speaker 15: going to talk a little bit about what's coming up
- 52:42Speaker 15: at the legislature.
- 52:43Speaker 3: David all right, I will see you later today on
- 52:45Speaker 3: Metro News Midday. Be careful out there till then, have
- 52:47Speaker 3: fun and love somebody, will you.
- 53:04Speaker 7: C H s A M.
- 53:05Speaker 2: Six point five. That's on Charleston one oh four point
- 53:07Speaker 2: five Cross Lane on w u VRC media station.
- 53:12Speaker 3: We're proud to live here too.
