- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville Jaguar's fans, welcome and to dovall daily presented by Genjag.com and fueled by brass tax coffee right now we are talking training camp.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_00]: Jaguars, training camp kicks off on the field with practice next Wednesday morning.
- 0:15[SPEAKER_00]: less than a week away.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_00]: July 29th is the day.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_00]: Can I wait to get out there as you may be able to tell?
- 0:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, did get the beard trim in the haircut today.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_00]: Getting ready for training camp.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_00]: We've been talking about it a good bit.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_00]: You know, 53 man rosters, headlines, all these different things.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_00]: Right now we're getting into my players 6 through 10 that I think will dominate
- 0:41[SPEAKER_00]: They will play very well on the field and they will be talked about a great bit, a great deal by folks who are out there watching practice, the media, the fans, et cetera, throughout this training camp and leading up into the preseason which, you know, it's right around the corner folks.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, very excited for some some football, appreciate you all being here.

- 1:08[SPEAKER_00]: Pick up some new dovall gear.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_00]: Get ready for the season.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_00]: We will be having a lot of drops coming up here, getting ready for the season in the next month or so and excited for that.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_00]: So, Genjag.com, if you want to help support the channel, look good while doing it.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_00]: So we did, players won through five yesterday.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_00]: I'll just run through them really quickly at five.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_00]: Trevor and Walker at four, Parker Washington at three, Brian Thomas Jr. at two Travis Hunter at one, Trevor Lawrence.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: So if you don't hear those names today, that's why.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_00]: We're getting it kicked off here today, though, with number 10, we will work our way down to number six.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_00]: Number 10 for me is Cole VanLanan.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_00]: Why is it Cole VanLanan?
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: He's not even healthy right now, right?
- 1:48[SPEAKER_00]: Well, we don't really know,
- 1:51[SPEAKER_00]: until he is on the practice field.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_00]: He will be a massive talking point.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_00]: And then once he gets on the practice field, that will be a talking point in and out of itself.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_00]: Colvin and Lannon solidified the Jaguar's left tackle spot as someone who was filling in for the injured incumbent starter Walker little, he did such a good job filling that role that the Jaguar's decided to sign him
- 2:17[SPEAKER_00]: to a starting deal.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't think that was the only calculus in the equation.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_00]: I think the fact that he did such a good job filling in at guard throughout the season as well, also contributed to that signing, but I don't think Colvin and Lamon's getting that deal unless he comes in and plays the way he did at left tackle.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_00]: which, I mean, again, it was so impressive the way he was playing as a run blocker in past protection, the consistency that he was bringing, it was really, really impressive.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_00]: Solidified that offensive line and really put it in a place where I think that it was well above average, especially in past protection.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and I think the left side of the line was doing a really good job in run blocking at the end of the year as well.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot that's been made about the run blocking of the Jack Wars and just the running game in general and Travis ETN's relative inefficiency and all these different things.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_00]: One thing that I think a lot of folks have not mentioned much.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: is that the level of run defense that the Jaguars were facing throughout the back end of the 2025 season was extremely hot.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_00]: Like they were facing really good run defenses weekend and week out.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_00]: That's another reason beyond the fact that the Jaguar is winning.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_00]: God Brian Pukuchi, they're trying to upgrade their run game in a variety of different ways.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_00]: Personnel, focus, coaching, all these different things.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_00]: Just the fact that when they were playing not so great run defenses, they were performing at a great clip.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_00]: Now they need to be able to perform better against good run defenses, but easier said than done.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_00]: I digress.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_00]: Colvin Lennon.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_00]: until he gets on the field.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_00]: And then when he gets on the field, he will be a major talking point because people, including myself, would much rather see COVID and land and at left tackle than Walker little.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_00]: The fact of their matter, the fact of the matter remains, Walker little was much better at left tackle, prior to 2025, prior to last season.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_00]: He did not have a good year at left tackle, for whatever reason in this new offense, is it possible that he could play better?
- 4:34[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, do we really want to find out?
- 4:37[SPEAKER_00]: No, I don't.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_00]: At number nine, we've got Tanner Koziel.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think Tanner Koziel is going to be a trendy name here in training camp.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_00]: He already has been throughout the spring.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_00]: He made plays down the field and just about every practice.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_00]: Impressive catches or getting open or whatever it may be.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_00]: Tanner Koziel, the most productive receiving titan in the country over his last two seasons.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, the year before 2025 season, he had Harold Fanon going crazy, but the combined two seasons, like he was the most productive Titan in college football from receiving standpoint.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_00]: He's not a big time blocker, right?
- 5:20[SPEAKER_00]: He is more of that move Titan, that slot Titan, but with the way the Jack Wars
- 5:27[SPEAKER_00]: will run condensed formations, have guys in motion, all these different things.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_00]: I think they can use Tanner Cozuel as a weapon.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_00]: I think he will be utilized as a weapon throughout training camp, and I think he's going to be a very buzzy name.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_00]: At number 8, I have Ventral Miller.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: I think Ventral Miller is a player who win given opportunities, has capitalized on them mostly over the last year, but even going back a little bit further than that.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_00]: And he's going to be given a lot of opportunities now that Devon Lloyd is no longer in Jacksonville, no longer with the team.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_00]: Ventral Miller did really well competing with Devon Lloyd last year throughout the offseason program and then into training camp.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_00]: When Devin will he got hurt last year after eventually winning the job throughout week one, when Devin will he got hurt later in the year, Bencho Miller came in and made a lot of plays.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_00]: I think Bencho Miller is in line for a big season.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_00]: I think that is going to get kicked off here in training camp.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_00]: And just a shout out to his backup, Branson Colms.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's going to make a lot of plays due and have a lot of buzz on him.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_00]: He made a lot of plays last year.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's going to have even more opportunities to do that this year in training camp.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_00]: at linebacker.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_00]: At number seven, Caleb Ransal.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_00]: He was coming on before his injury last year.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_00]: Miss the entire season rookie third round pick has the physical ability of a first round pick without question.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_00]: Insane athlete, literally insane athlete, ran in the four threes,
- 7:12[SPEAKER_00]: At Troy, he played nickel at two lane.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: At the senior bull, he played safety.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguar is brought him into play safety.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_00]: You say, well, you know, it's great that he's this athlete, he's got good size and all that stuff, but, you know, corner plan safety, that can be a tough transition from physical to same point.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_00]: If you go back and watch, I think they were playing Navy at two lane, he was the player taking on the lead blocks.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_00]: You go back and watch the senior boy.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_00]: You go back and watch all his tape where there'd be nickel outside.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't miss tackles.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_00]: He's a good physical tackler.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_00]: So you combine all these traits.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_00]: I think Caleb Ransal is gonna have himself a heck of a training camp and he is going to be the on question third safety for the Jaguars.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_00]: But I think he's going to eventually outrep Eric Murray in 2026.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_00]: Antonio Johnson ain't coming off the field if he keeps flying the way he's been playing.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_00]: But I think Caleb Ransaw will be the jacks will use three safety looks often.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_00]: I just think at some point Caleb Ransaw is going to be too good to keep off the field even in two safety looks.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_00]: And that leads us to our number six player here, running back, facial tuton.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_00]: He has been complimented by Liam Cohen.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_00]: As recently as this week on the Shreger Hour, talking about how last year, the main assignment for him was come in and really understand the verbage, understand the playbook, understand what he's being asked to do and hold onto the football, right?
- 8:51[SPEAKER_00]: This year,
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: They want him to kind of let it rip a little bit.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: He had that moment with Trevor Lawrence during the season last year, where he's like, all right, we're doing these things, we're doing good mental processing, all that stuff.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_00]: It's time to let it rip.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_00]: And for facial tuton, it's now time to let it rip.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_00]: And what does he mean by that?
- 9:07[SPEAKER_00]: Go out there and do what got you here, which was play fluid, play fast, explosive football, creativity, quickness, agility, facial tuton has all those things.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_00]: He needs to go put those things together out on the practice field that will lead him to being a playmaker on the actual game field when it comes Sundays this fall.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_00]: And let's not pretend he didn't do good things, last year, he did do good things.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_00]: Like his success rate was high, even though his yards per carry were low because
- 9:41[SPEAKER_00]: he was more often than not able to get more than what was blocked for him, often times he was making people miss in the backfield, he was making people miss right around the line of scrimmage and only ended up three yards or so, but getting a first down, getting a touchdown, right?
- 9:59[SPEAKER_00]: Like he scored himself a number of touchdowns last year and you know,
- 10:06[SPEAKER_00]: also showed out as a receiver had multiple receiving touchdowns.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_00]: I think he has a chance to have a really big training camp and look.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_00]: This is no slide on Chris Rodriguez, who I think is also a good back in this system.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_00]: Liam Cohen brought him in for a reason.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_00]: Or Lee Quint Allen, who I love the way he plays
- 10:32[SPEAKER_00]: And I think he also, beyond just having incredible speed and being loaded to the ground and all that stuff, he plays with a physicality that you admire for a player of his stature.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that he's gonna have himself a really big training camp with more opportunities here and not just getting his feet wet in the NFL, but now having had a full off season last year and then season and then now another off season to actually kind of integrate into the NFL and into this system.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_00]: So that's my 10 through six.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_00]: I am really fired up for training camp.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all tuning in.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content here, please like and subscribe.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_00]: You can also hit that high button.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_00]: Y'all have a great one.
