- 0:00As we take our standpoint primarily in the external
- 0:04nature, we are clearly subject to the action of the three gunas
- 0:08or qualities of nature. These qualities, do not remain
- 0:13constant and our ever changing and they then determine the type
- 0:19of reaction and action, an individual has in any particular
- 0:24situation or provocation, thus depending on On the predominance
- 0:31of a particular quality at any point in time.
- 0:35An individual May exhibit totally different responses to
- 0:39any situation developed Tendencies or capacities of the
- 0:44individual may cause him to respond characteristically along
- 0:48certain lines. But this is no guarantee that
- 0:53under specific circumstances you will always respond that same
- 0:58way. The capacity to respond to
- 1:01specific types of vibrations resides in certain centers,
- 1:05called chakras, and the Indian tradition and thus, depending on
- 1:10the Guna that is predominant. At the time, the response may be
- 1:15the highest or even the lowest form of response.
- 1:20We frequently hear that love and hate are so intertwined.
- 1:23That the person we hate may turn out to be the greatest, love at
- 1:28some point and vice versa. Generally, calm individuals, may
- 1:33find that under certain types of provocation, they become
- 1:37enraged. Those who have developed the
- 1:40firm standpoint of the witness Consciousness separate from the
- 1:44external nature and its reactions are better able to
- 1:49control and manage these responses.
- 1:51And thus avoid becoming fully engaged with the source of the
- 1:55provocation and the response there to until Such a firm
- 2:01statuses in place. However, each individual is
- 2:05subject to what appear to be contradictory actions from time
- 2:10to time. The mother observes quote.
- 2:15The human individual is a very complex being.
- 2:18He is composed of innumerable elements each one of which is an
- 2:23independent entity and has almost a personality, not only.
- 2:28So the most contradictory elements are housed together.
- 2:33If there is a particular quality or capacity present the very
- 2:37opposite of it, annulling it, as it were will also be found.
- 2:42Along with it and embracing it. I have seen a man Brave
- 2:47courageous heroic to, the extreme flinching from no danger
- 2:52facing unperturbed. The utmost Peril, truly the
- 2:56bravest of the Brave. And yet I have seen the same man
- 3:01cowering in abject Terror like the last of poltroon 's in the
- 3:06presence of certain circumstances.
- 3:09I have seen a most generous man, giving things away, largely
- 3:13freely, not counting any expenditure or sacrifice,
- 3:17without the least care or reservation.
- 3:20The same person. I have also found to be the
- 3:24vilest of misers with respect to certain other considerations.
- 3:28Again, I have seen the most intelligent person with a clear
- 3:33mind full of light and understanding easily.
- 3:37Comprehending the Nick and implication of the topic.
- 3:41And yet I have seen him betraying the utmost stupidity
- 3:46of which even in ordinary Man, Without education, or
- 3:49intelligence would be incapable. These are not theoretical
- 3:54examples I have come across such persons actually in life.
