- 0:11Speaker 1: Julius Jones, a single setback Matt Pumpfecks looking at the
- 0:14Speaker 1: goal line. He throws it into the end zone. Touchdown,
- 0:17Speaker 1: Saint Hawks. It's Michael Bumpus with a diving catching the
- 0:21Speaker 1: end zone. Our ten yard touchdown reception for Bumpus and
- 0:25Speaker 1: the kid out of Washington State has found himself a
- 0:29Speaker 1: place on this team. Powered by Seahawks dot Com blog.
- 0:33Speaker 1: When a Hawk Talk recap edition, the Seahawks are unable
- 0:36Speaker 1: to get it done on Monday Nights football against the
- 0:39Speaker 1: Washington football team. They fall seventeen to fifteen, but had
- 0:42Speaker 1: a chance to win this ball game. Let's bring it
- 0:45Speaker 1: Nasa Choby and figure out what happened. See what happened
- 0:48Speaker 1: at first word what had happened was Unhawk Talk Michael Bumpus.
- 0:56Speaker 1: This is uncharted territory for the Seattle Seahawks. It has
- 0:59Speaker 1: been a long season so far. The Seahawks fall to
- 1:02Speaker 1: three and eight on the season, have lost the most
- 1:05Speaker 1: games since twenty eleven and have lost six of their
- 1:08Speaker 1: last seven. Tough game. Last night heartbreaking fashion, losing the
- 1:12Speaker 1: Washing football team seventeen to fifteen. And the thing that
- 1:15Speaker 1: jumps out about this year bump. You know, lots of
- 1:17Speaker 1: bounces have not gone the Seahawks way. But despite that
- 1:21Speaker 1: three and eight record, the Seahawks have been within a
- 1:23Speaker 1: touchdown in the fourth quarter of all eight games this season,
- 1:27Speaker 1: which is wild to me. You know, you look at
- 1:29Speaker 1: a lot of the box scores and how it feels
- 1:31Speaker 1: like three and eight obviously feels bad, but the Seahawks
- 1:33Speaker 1: have been in every single game, and it's it's tough,
- 1:37Speaker 1: and I know it's tough for everyone in that locker
- 1:38Speaker 1: room and coaching staff. And a familiar trend started and
- 1:41Speaker 1: continued on Monday night. Excuse me. The Seahawks struggled mightily
- 1:45Speaker 1: to sustain drives and stay on the field offensively. Time
- 1:48Speaker 1: of possession just jumps MAXI in the face. Washington Football
- 1:51Speaker 1: team forty one minutes, forty seconds, the Seattle Seahawks eighteen
- 1:55Speaker 1: minutes in twenty seconds. The Seahawks scored on two of
- 1:59Speaker 1: their eleven drives, had just ten first downs all night.
- 2:03Speaker 1: The Washington Football team had twenty eight. The Hawks continue
- 2:06Speaker 1: to have issues on third down, going four of thirteen.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Washington football team ran seventy nine plays. Seahawks ran just
- 2:13Speaker 1: forty nine, and ten of those came on the final drive.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Rushing yards were not great. Seahawks ran for thirty four.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Washington football team ran for one hundred and fifty two
- 2:21Speaker 1: and only two of the Seahawks drives bump were more
- 2:24Speaker 1: than six plays. It's really hard to win football games
- 2:27Speaker 1: that way, and it's crazy to think that they were
- 2:29Speaker 1: still an amazing opportunity, a chance to win this game.
- 2:32Speaker 1: But when time investon continues to be this lopsided, it's
- 2:35Speaker 1: gonna be really hard for any offense six score points,
- 2:38Speaker 1: say on the field, or really be competitive and try
- 2:40Speaker 1: to win these ball games. Yeah, it's tough. That means
- 2:42Speaker 1: you're not moving the football. That means you're not making
- 2:44Speaker 1: explosive plays, and we're not seeing that. They have three
- 2:47Speaker 1: six three and ouns and five consecutive three owns in
- 2:50Speaker 1: these second half. Here's the drive chart, punt, touchdown, punt, fumble,
- 2:54Speaker 1: about five or six seven punts in a row, and
- 2:57Speaker 1: then at the end of the game, the defense holds
- 3:00Speaker 1: on the goal line and keeps so many game and
- 3:01Speaker 1: they go down to score touchdown. On defense, the Seahawks
- 3:04Speaker 1: put up another solid performance. The Washington football team ended
- 3:07Speaker 1: up with three hundred and seventy one yards and told
- 3:08Speaker 1: the offense, but the defense is what kept the Seahawks
- 3:11Speaker 1: in the game. The thing that Hurst's defense allowing long drives.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Fifteen plays sext eight yards, phil goal, ten plays forty
- 3:19Speaker 1: five yards interception Jamal Adams big ups, eleven plays seventy
- 3:23Speaker 1: three yards for a touchdown, then sixteen plays eighty nine yards.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Then you're out on downs. This defense is working hard.
- 3:30Speaker 1: They're out there for a long time. There are some
- 3:31Speaker 1: things that they can do better. They can get off
- 3:33Speaker 1: the field on third down. They can not allow these
- 3:37Speaker 1: teams to have these super long drives. But the end
- 3:39Speaker 1: of the day, they gave these guys a chance. They
- 3:40Speaker 1: gave Russell Wilson and football with some time in the
- 3:43Speaker 1: clock to win a game. Absolutely, you look at what
- 3:45Speaker 1: the defense has done. Yes, they've given up some yards
- 3:47Speaker 1: in some of these games, but you look at what
- 3:48Speaker 1: they've done defensively, it's been remarkable. The season started poorly,
- 3:53Speaker 1: just like twenty twenty did, but if you look since
- 3:56Speaker 1: the Seahawks loss to the Rams back on Thursday Football
- 3:59Speaker 1: in October. They've given twenty three points to Steelers, thirteen
- 4:02Speaker 1: points to the Saints, seven points to the Jaguars, seventeen
- 4:05Speaker 1: points to the Packers, twenty three points to the Cardinals,
- 4:08Speaker 1: in seventeen points to the Washington football team. So they're
- 4:10Speaker 1: doing enough. Yes, they're bending, they're not breaking. They're keeping
- 4:13Speaker 1: the Seahawks in these games. The one thing, if you're
- 4:16Speaker 1: gonna knock them was tough, is they've started games off
- 4:19Speaker 1: with long drives and started second halfs off with long drives.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Those are the two times where they shouldn't, you know,
- 4:26Speaker 1: hypothetically be fresh to start a game. You want to
- 4:28Speaker 1: get off the field early, and then in the second
- 4:31Speaker 1: half you get killed with another really long drive. So
- 4:34Speaker 1: the Seahawks, you know, it's promising to me how hard
- 4:38Speaker 1: these guys play. That's the one thing the big takeaway
- 4:41Speaker 1: from me defensively, as you can say what you want
- 4:43Speaker 1: about their record, but these guys never quit. For them
- 4:45Speaker 1: to have the resolve in the wherewithal to be in
- 4:48Speaker 1: that game, still competing to make a stop at the
- 4:50Speaker 1: end of the game. Offense getting the ball and going
- 4:53Speaker 1: it's it's really good to see in in As you mentioned,
- 4:56Speaker 1: the defenseman made enough place to win this game. The
- 4:58Speaker 1: biggest point of the game, bump was in that second half.
- 5:01Speaker 1: The Seahawks were putting the ball driver to drive to drive,
- 5:04Speaker 1: but the Seahawks defense stepped up big and forced three
- 5:06Speaker 1: consecutive three an ounce for Washington. And despite all of that,
- 5:11Speaker 1: the Seahawks still had a chance to win the fourth quarter.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Win the game in the fourth quarter, which is truly remarkable.
- 5:16Speaker 1: Russell gets the football, so the defense stands tall on
- 5:19Speaker 1: the goal line on our own three yard line fourth down,
- 5:22Speaker 1: watching the football team lost their kicker earlier in the game,
- 5:24Speaker 1: or else they would just put that ball on the foot.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Then they go up. The games probably out of reach
- 5:28Speaker 1: because they don't have their kicker. They have to go
- 5:30Speaker 1: forward on fourth down, and the defense stands tall. Jabal
- 5:33Speaker 1: makes a play on the goal line. For the second
- 5:34Speaker 1: week in a row, he's been on that goal line
- 5:36Speaker 1: trying to make plays. Damn. It was initially called a touchdown,
- 5:40Speaker 1: but the referees actually got it right. They went back
- 5:42Speaker 1: and looked at the film. The ball was moving. You
- 5:45Speaker 1: were convincing me. I'm like I don't know, Nass, I
- 5:47Speaker 1: don't know, but we saw an angle that made sense
- 5:50Speaker 1: and the revs got it right. Kudos to the referees.
- 5:53Speaker 1: So what happens. Russell Wilson gets the ball. Then we're exciting,
- 5:55Speaker 1: a little over two minutes left in the game, and
- 5:57Speaker 1: what does he do? Connects with DJ Dallas. D K
- 6:00Speaker 1: finally gets involved. Then there's a passive affairence on Tyler
- 6:03Speaker 1: Lockett before he finally connects with Freddie Swain for thirty
- 6:06Speaker 1: two yard touchdown with fifteen seconds remaining. That made the
- 6:09Speaker 1: score seventeen to fifteen. Now they got a line up
- 6:12Speaker 1: for a two point conversion, and you can tell a
- 6:14Speaker 1: lot about a team and offensive coordinator just on their
- 6:17Speaker 1: two point conversion calls, like this is what they hang
- 6:19Speaker 1: there had them, this is what they believe what's gonna happen.
- 6:22Speaker 1: And I agreed with the play calls. I wasn't mad
- 6:23Speaker 1: with the play call. There's a lot of crossing roles.
- 6:25Speaker 1: You're trying to get this defense to communicate with each other.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Russell throws the ball to Freddie Swain, probably a bit
- 6:30Speaker 1: late in the middle, but Freddie still got his hands
- 6:32Speaker 1: on him. Watching football team just made a great play
- 6:34Speaker 1: could have went to the DK in the corner. But
- 6:36Speaker 1: end of the day, they had a chance to win
- 6:38Speaker 1: this game and they didn't convert. But then as they
- 6:41Speaker 1: still had another chance to win this ball game. Oh yeah,
- 6:44Speaker 1: I mean we were going nuts in the studio when
- 6:46Speaker 1: he found Freddie swaying for that touchdown. Line up for
- 6:49Speaker 1: the two point conversion, like you mentioned, might have been
- 6:52Speaker 1: a little late to Freddy Swain who was initially open. Okay,
- 6:54Speaker 1: the play doesn't work. Now you're everyone's taking the games over.
- 6:57Speaker 1: It has been this roller coast of emotion, and say
- 7:00Speaker 1: have then the Seahawks line up for the onside kick,
- 7:03Speaker 1: which you know you don't see go the offensive way
- 7:06Speaker 1: a ton in the NFL, that's more high school. In
- 7:08Speaker 1: college hand seams, guys are coached well on the hand
- 7:11Speaker 1: seeming things like that. But guess what, Boom the ball
- 7:14Speaker 1: A perfect kick by Jason Myers gets this weird in
- 7:17Speaker 1: between hop the guy from the Washington football team on
- 7:19Speaker 1: hand seem gets as weird like a short stop, and
- 7:21Speaker 1: the ball hits the lip of the grass, ball goes
- 7:23Speaker 1: behind him. Gavin Heslop, who was elevated that day, gets
- 7:27Speaker 1: the huge recovery the Seahawks sideline is going crazy. Now
- 7:30Speaker 1: we're thinking, my mindset switches over. Okay, the fifteen seconds slept.
- 7:34Speaker 1: How long can Jason Myers kick this field goal? Because
- 7:36Speaker 1: the Seahawks were down two points, that field goal is
- 7:38Speaker 1: gonna win the game. Maybe they get one play, you know,
- 7:40Speaker 1: throw a five year out or something. Who knows. But
- 7:43Speaker 1: then we see the flag again. We see that yellow
- 7:46Speaker 1: laundry and we're wondering, No, they weren't. They weren't off sides.
- 7:50Speaker 1: We're looking through it. They're blah blah blah. Nope, it's
- 7:53Speaker 1: an illegal formation. Unfortunately, the way the Seahawks wire lined up,
- 7:57Speaker 1: you can't have anyone inside the hash with the kicker there.
- 8:00Speaker 1: The rules changed a couple of years ago to really
- 8:03Speaker 1: change the big collissions on kickoff as well as on
- 8:05Speaker 1: on site kicks, and it's really frustrating and it's really disappointing. Obviously,
- 8:09Speaker 1: the Seahawks didn't lose the game because of that. It's
- 8:12Speaker 1: just it's it sucks because the penalty was on Nick
- 8:16Speaker 1: Bollore and he is your special team's captain. He's able,
- 8:20Speaker 1: he is the jack of all trades. Fullback, linebacker, funny dude,
- 8:25Speaker 1: one of the glue guys in the locker room. So
- 8:27Speaker 1: I felt horrible for him. I know they probably lined
- 8:30Speaker 1: up a million times. It just it just sucks that
- 8:32Speaker 1: it came down to that. But it's been I mean,
- 8:36Speaker 1: if we're real, it's been a microcosm of this season.
- 8:38Speaker 1: The Seahawks have been so close on so mammy occasions,
- 8:41Speaker 1: but one thing doesn't bounce their way. I mean, we
- 8:43Speaker 1: were talking about this last night. Alton Robinson makes a
- 8:45Speaker 1: great rush off the edge. Your thing, it's gonna be
- 8:48Speaker 1: a sack fumble, maybe a scoop and score. Alton Robinson
- 8:51Speaker 1: gets his hand on Heineke so gets his hand on
- 8:53Speaker 1: the football. Somehow, the football comes out going sideways and
- 8:57Speaker 1: it's still a completion. They muff a punt off the
- 9:01Speaker 1: dude's shoulder pads a lot of times. The ball bounces crazy,
- 9:04Speaker 1: bounces off another dude. Nope, it falls right in front
- 9:06Speaker 1: of him and he falls on it and plays like
- 9:08Speaker 1: that over and over again. It's just it's it's brutal because,
- 9:13Speaker 1: like I said earlier, these two guys fight incredibly hard,
- 9:16Speaker 1: never any quit in them. It's just it's just a man,
- 9:19Speaker 1: it's just hard to watch to be in this situation
- 9:21Speaker 1: Seahawks losing six or seven. It's something after the Colts
- 9:25Speaker 1: game and halfway through the Titans game, even after the
- 9:27Speaker 1: forty nine Ers game. Room this season this is a
- 9:29Speaker 1: place that we never ever imagine this season could be
- 9:32Speaker 1: but bump. At the end of the day, it is
- 9:34Speaker 1: what it is. The Seahawks are three and eight, and
- 9:35Speaker 1: that's what they are. You're gonna need some of those
- 9:38Speaker 1: players to bounce your William to sneak out a couple
- 9:40Speaker 1: of games, even some games you're not supposed to win. Honestly,
- 9:43Speaker 1: they probably were not supposed to win that Watchington football
- 9:45Speaker 1: game last night, a Monday night football. But you have
- 9:48Speaker 1: the football to tie the ball game up with two
- 9:50Speaker 1: minutes left. You think you're recovered on sidekick. You mentioned
- 9:53Speaker 1: on Robinson getting his hands on the football a muff punt.
- 9:56Speaker 1: I mean, one or two of those things have to
- 9:58Speaker 1: go you away for them to win him. It just
- 10:00Speaker 1: didn't go away. With all that being instead, there were
- 10:02Speaker 1: still some playmakers out there. Playmakers Russell Wilson making his
- 10:16Speaker 1: appearance and playmakers again a spot where he rightfully belongs
- 10:20Speaker 1: and usually is every single game this year. Russell Wilson,
- 10:23Speaker 1: when you look at the game bump. It wasn't the
- 10:25Speaker 1: Russell Wilson game we've become accustomed to, where he's lighting
- 10:29Speaker 1: it up up and down the field with his legs,
- 10:31Speaker 1: with his arms coming back in the fourth quarter. But
- 10:33Speaker 1: when you look at the numbers, he's still he had
- 10:35Speaker 1: a pretty solid game. Numbers wise, He's twenty to thirty one,
- 10:38Speaker 1: two hundred and forty seven yards, two touchdowns, no interceptions,
- 10:41Speaker 1: and as we mentioned in the last segment, love the
- 10:43Speaker 1: Sehawks on ten play ninety six yard drive late in
- 10:46Speaker 1: the fourth quarter to give the Seahawks a chance in
- 10:48Speaker 1: the game late, and there's something about Russell, you know.
- 10:51Speaker 1: Obviously the Sehawks have not been playing well the last
- 10:53Speaker 1: couple of weeks offensively, but there was still a glimmer
- 10:56Speaker 1: of hope. Anytime three has the ball, there's still that
- 10:59Speaker 1: glimmer of magic. And even though he took a sack
- 11:01Speaker 1: on the last drive, he still figured it out, still
- 11:03Speaker 1: made plays. In my head, I'm thinking, I think it
- 11:07Speaker 1: was after the DK completion, or it was one after that.
- 11:09Speaker 1: I'm thinking, clocked the ball, clock the ball, clock the ball.
- 11:12Speaker 1: What are they doing? Times running out, times running up?
- 11:14Speaker 1: What happens? Russell steps up Buying Ready, Swaying bam So,
- 11:16Speaker 1: Russell Wilson. He's still not quite back to what we've
- 11:19Speaker 1: seen early in the season and what he's been for
- 11:21Speaker 1: his entire Hall of Fame career. I think it was
- 11:24Speaker 1: promising that we've We've seen glimpses like the throw he
- 11:27Speaker 1: had to Gerald. Ever the first touchdown that was a dime.
- 11:30Speaker 1: He put it in the only place possible that that
- 11:33Speaker 1: could have been a touchdown, threaded the needle perfectly. So yes,
- 11:37Speaker 1: he's missing some throws here and there, but we've seen it.
- 11:39Speaker 1: The pieces are there. He just seems to put it
- 11:41Speaker 1: all together. Might be slowly easing his way back to
- 11:46Speaker 1: what we used to see, but in this league, you
- 11:48Speaker 1: know you have to be consistent on every single down.
- 11:51Speaker 1: But every week he's gotten better since the injury, So
- 11:53Speaker 1: let's see what happens there. Another play maker, Tyler Lockett,
- 11:56Speaker 1: three receptions for ninety six yards, had a fifty five
- 11:59Speaker 1: yard reception. That's that up the Seahawks first touchdown. All
- 12:02Speaker 1: he does is catch deep crosses. I mean, I don't
- 12:04Speaker 1: know how he gets open. I don't know how he
- 12:08Speaker 1: catches the ball with the contact that he has. He's
- 12:11Speaker 1: a smaller dude. But Tyler Lockett, it's just steady. He's
- 12:15Speaker 1: quiet about what he does. He shows up to work
- 12:17Speaker 1: and you can count on him making one or two
- 12:19Speaker 1: plays a game Tyler Locket made Without him in this game,
- 12:22Speaker 1: these guys aren't in it. Yeah, things haven't been great
- 12:25Speaker 1: offensively without Tyler Lockett. I have no idea where this
- 12:28Speaker 1: team is. Tyler Lockett is one of those glue guys.
- 12:30Speaker 1: Like you said, it almost doesn't make sense because defense
- 12:33Speaker 1: is no that's what he's gonna run. Everybody in the
- 12:36Speaker 1: in the building notes here, but he still finds a
- 12:37Speaker 1: way to get it. Opens up, Love you sixteen, keep
- 12:39Speaker 1: making plays. Another playmaker, Gerald Everett five receptions, thirty seven yards,
- 12:44Speaker 1: one touchdown and bump. I've seen enough the last three weeks.
- 12:48Speaker 1: Get this man the football. Gerald Everett is dynamic, he's
- 12:51Speaker 1: a playmaker. The first guy never tackles him, almost never.
- 12:55Speaker 1: And Gerald Everett when he gets some football in his hands,
- 12:57Speaker 1: he's a running back. He runs hard and I just
- 13:00Speaker 1: love to see it. And that's that's kind of what
- 13:01Speaker 1: we thought we'd see from Gerald coming from the Rams office.
- 13:03Speaker 1: And there Sean McVeagh as well as Shane waldron over
- 13:06Speaker 1: in La so love to see from Gerald Leverett. We
- 13:08Speaker 1: just need to keep getting that man in the football
- 13:10Speaker 1: because he's making plays. You've got some stickies, man, He's
- 13:13Speaker 1: makes some tough catches. That touchdown was on point. Like
- 13:16Speaker 1: you mentioned, Russ thread the needle and he still has
- 13:19Speaker 1: to make that play. Big up Jerold. Another playmaker, Bobby
- 13:22Speaker 1: Wagon of fourteen tackles, one pass defended. There was this
- 13:25Speaker 1: play he made. He's on the line to game. Running
- 13:29Speaker 1: back is running at him, He slips, falls, gets back up,
- 13:32Speaker 1: squares his duds up, drives him to the to the ground.
- 13:35Speaker 1: Just a signature Bobby Wagner played. This guy has played
- 13:39Speaker 1: every single snap on defense this year, every single snap.
- 13:42Speaker 1: It's not like he's a young pup, year ten for
- 13:44Speaker 1: this guy, and he's still out there. Man. Without Bobby,
- 13:47Speaker 1: I mean, this team probably isn't even close late in
- 13:49Speaker 1: the game. You need your general out there on defense,
- 13:52Speaker 1: and that's what fifty four does for this team every week. Yeah,
- 13:54Speaker 1: that play was a big hit on Gibson and that's
- 13:56Speaker 1: a form tackle. That's how you draw it up even
- 13:58Speaker 1: in this today's NFL. That's a clean hit, physical shoulder
- 14:02Speaker 1: him up, drove him to the ground. And a guy
- 14:04Speaker 1: that's he's uh, you know, providing tons of leadership too,
- 14:07Speaker 1: is Jordan Brooks. Jordan Brooks again is all over the
- 14:10Speaker 1: stat sheet, fourteen tackles in same with him. He was
- 14:12Speaker 1: just physical. There was something different that I like seeing
- 14:15Speaker 1: a little bit from the Seahawks defense. It felt like
- 14:17Speaker 1: guys were hitting, you know, it felt like it was
- 14:19Speaker 1: a bigger game down the sideline. But Jordan Brooks puts
- 14:22Speaker 1: his shoulder pad in somebody. Boom. When Brooks decides to
- 14:24Speaker 1: put his shoulder pads into you, you go down. As
- 14:27Speaker 1: Dave Wyman always says, when he hits you, you stay hit.
- 14:30Speaker 1: So love to see Jordan Brooks balling out there. And
- 14:34Speaker 1: I think, you know, at the end of the day,
- 14:36Speaker 1: we knew Bobby Wagner can't play forever, right, Jordan Brooks
- 14:39Speaker 1: has shown us that when Bobby when it's when Bobby
- 14:42Speaker 1: eventually hangs it up, that could be four years from now,
- 14:44Speaker 1: it could be who knows. Because Bobby's an amazing shape,
- 14:46Speaker 1: he's an amazing leader. The Seahawks really need him right now.
- 14:49Speaker 1: But Jordan Brooks has shown that he's going to be
- 14:51Speaker 1: a playmaker for years to come, and that when that
- 14:53Speaker 1: time comes, he'll be ready to take that torch. I
- 14:57Speaker 1: think we can officially say the Hawks hit on an
- 14:59Speaker 1: early draft pick with drum Brooks. That's kind of been
- 15:01Speaker 1: the knock with these guys. They don't draft well, not
- 15:04Speaker 1: to the untrained eye, but you look at Jordan Brooks.
- 15:07Speaker 1: That's a hit, big of Jordan Brooks. Jamal Adams nine tackles,
- 15:10Speaker 1: one interception, two passes defended. We're not talking about sacks.
- 15:14Speaker 1: We're talking about tackles, interceptions and passes defended. With Jamal Adams,
- 15:18Speaker 1: that is great to see. He's just been around the football.
- 15:21Speaker 1: The footballs in the area. Was tipped up by Bobby
- 15:23Speaker 1: Wagner and Diggs at the same time they collide on
- 15:26Speaker 1: him on the player poss up in the air. He's
- 15:28Speaker 1: just where he needs to be. And I think that
- 15:31Speaker 1: as a safety as anyone in pass Kevige. If you're
- 15:33Speaker 1: just where you're supposed to be, footballs are gonna go
- 15:35Speaker 1: your way. You're gonna be able to make plays. Two
- 15:37Speaker 1: interceptions this year. Happy for Jamal absolutely two interceptions in
- 15:41Speaker 1: three games. People can put away those stupid memes comparing
- 15:44Speaker 1: him to Vince will Park about career interception. Okay, that's done.
- 15:47Speaker 1: Retire at Jamal Adams keep balling out. Love to see it,
- 15:50Speaker 1: Love the energy he plays with. Love how he steps
- 15:52Speaker 1: up to the podium after every single loss and just
- 15:54Speaker 1: owns it and where's it. He's a true professional, great
- 15:57Speaker 1: ball player. Love Jamal Adams. Another playmaker, Rashime Green. Rashim
- 16:02Speaker 1: two tackles, blocked pat scooped that thing, ran it back
- 16:06Speaker 1: like eighty some yards. He was active, pressuring in the
- 16:09Speaker 1: quarterback and just in the game plan. So love to
- 16:12Speaker 1: see from Rachim. And that's just lets y'all know that
- 16:15Speaker 1: was some athleticism, bro. He not only blocks the Pats,
- 16:18Speaker 1: he's a great rush inside rush boom, gets skinny, going
- 16:21Speaker 1: through the shoulders, gets folks, tension, blocks, blocks, the ball
- 16:25Speaker 1: bounces back to him and then he shows you the
- 16:27Speaker 1: Jets man he was. He got up to I think
- 16:29Speaker 1: nx NFL next Gen stats said he got up to
- 16:32Speaker 1: eighteen point five miles an hour, rumbling, bumbling, stumbling. Love
- 16:35Speaker 1: to see a Rashim. It ain't slow now and that's
- 16:39Speaker 1: a that's a big man movement. Man. I love seeing
- 16:42Speaker 1: Rachine and Green make plays. One of my favorite dudes
- 16:44Speaker 1: on the team. Honestly, all right, let's get into this
- 16:47Speaker 1: wide receiver. Round up a lot of pass catchers last night.
- 16:50Speaker 1: Tyler Lockett at three for ninety six, Jerod Ever had
- 16:53Speaker 1: five for thirty seven and a touchdown. Freddy Swain had
- 16:56Speaker 1: one big catch for thirty two yards in a touchdown.
- 16:59Speaker 1: DJ five for twenty seven. Like seeing him get involved,
- 17:02Speaker 1: Uncle will disk he had two for nineteen, Alex Collins
- 17:05Speaker 1: one for thirteen, DK one for thirteen. I think we
- 17:07Speaker 1: need to see a little bit more number fourteen get involved.
- 17:10Speaker 1: And then we saw d Escars get two for ten.
- 17:14Speaker 1: Those are the wide receivers get to the coach's corner. Yeah, bump.
- 17:18Speaker 1: We've been talking about it all day, all day throughout
- 17:21Speaker 1: this podcast. Russell Wilson connecting with Freddie Swain for thirty
- 17:24Speaker 1: two yard touchdown with fifteen seconds remaining in the fourth
- 17:28Speaker 1: quarter to bring the Seahawks within two. Three receivers right
- 17:31Speaker 1: side twenty two. Russ looks pump faith now he's gonna
- 17:36Speaker 1: let it fly. He's got a bad toutsdown Seahawks right
- 17:42Speaker 1: down the middle of the field, and you can hear
- 17:45Speaker 1: the Seahawks fans in the stands. Russell Wilson throws a
- 17:49Speaker 1: dark Swain right down the middle. What a thirty third
- 17:53Speaker 1: birthday for Russell Wilson. A thirty two yard touchdown strike
- 17:57Speaker 1: and now the Seahawks have to come vert two to
- 18:01Speaker 1: tie it up. Nothing, nothing is out of reach for
- 18:05Speaker 1: number three. Now this is when we were all yelling
- 18:10Speaker 1: clock clock, clock stopped the clock. So Shane, Walton and
- 18:13Speaker 1: Russell saw something that we didn't see. They saw a
- 18:16Speaker 1: two high defense and all they did was run straight verts.
- 18:18Speaker 1: You got four receivers running verse. DK's isolated to the
- 18:21Speaker 1: left side and you got Freddie work in the middle
- 18:24Speaker 1: of the field. If you are going to hit a
- 18:26Speaker 1: two high defense, it's right in the middle of the field.
- 18:28Speaker 1: They did a great job holding the safeties with verts
- 18:31Speaker 1: on the outside by I believe that's Tyler Lockett and
- 18:34Speaker 1: Gerald Evert. Rush steps up in the pocket, keeps his
- 18:37Speaker 1: eyes down the field and makes probably the biggest throw
- 18:40Speaker 1: of the season for him, and with Freddie swimming, all
- 18:43Speaker 1: I think it is, please catch it, Please catch it.
- 18:46Speaker 1: I mean you're by yourself, you know, you got a
- 18:48Speaker 1: whole bunch of space. We heard Freddie talk about it
- 18:50Speaker 1: after the game and he described it perfectly. It was look, man,
- 18:53Speaker 1: I saw the two high defense. I knew if I
- 18:54Speaker 1: just split the safeties, I'd be good. Russell would find me.
- 18:57Speaker 1: That's exactly what happened. Yeah, I love the execution out it.
- 19:00Speaker 1: And like you said, they're in a two high looks,
- 19:01Speaker 1: so you've got gk Metcalf on the bottom of your screen.
- 19:04Speaker 1: And of course, if I'm the free safety on that
- 19:06Speaker 1: side of the field, yeah, he's gonna have my intention
- 19:08Speaker 1: if he's streaking down the field. Then on the flip side,
- 19:10Speaker 1: you have Tyler Lockett, who's the outside receiver on the
- 19:13Speaker 1: other side, same thing, and they put the other safety
- 19:16Speaker 1: in a big bind. Obviously you're in cover two and
- 19:18Speaker 1: they're running four verts, but you got three receivers to
- 19:21Speaker 1: your side, so you're you're you're trying to vertical Vier
- 19:24Speaker 1: three and number two and that safety is depending on them.
- 19:29Speaker 1: Whoever's playing mic or who's playing inside covered to carry
- 19:31Speaker 1: number three in a covered two, whether it's like the
- 19:35Speaker 1: old Tampa two, the linebacker, whoever you have in there,
- 19:38Speaker 1: you have to cover. You have to carry number three
- 19:40Speaker 1: if he goes vert because the safety has too much
- 19:42Speaker 1: on his plate. There's no way you can cover that
- 19:44Speaker 1: kind of ground. Russell makes a great play stepping up
- 19:46Speaker 1: and it's a great pitching catching and you love to
- 19:49Speaker 1: see it. I loved. I want to see more beaters, bump.
- 19:52Speaker 1: You're an offensive coordinator. I want to see more concepts,
- 19:55Speaker 1: whether it's when teams a side to play covered too,
- 19:57Speaker 1: what are we gonna do? You know, if we're gonna
- 19:59Speaker 1: hit that nice in between zone between the corner and
- 20:02Speaker 1: the free safety, we're gonna hit the middle of the field,
- 20:04Speaker 1: if they're in quarters, if they're in thirds. I just
- 20:07Speaker 1: want to see more beaters, and I want to see,
- 20:08Speaker 1: you know, just rush Will getting up to the line
- 20:10Speaker 1: and just that continuity between everybody in the wide receiver
- 20:13Speaker 1: saying like, hey, this is what they're in we know
- 20:15Speaker 1: we're gonna do and then go out next que. I
- 20:18Speaker 1: think the more reps they get together and the more
- 20:21Speaker 1: they understand what they're looking at, you gotta have all
- 20:23Speaker 1: those guys on the same page, including Shane Walging offensive coordinator.
- 20:27Speaker 1: It comes with time and plays like this give you hope.
- 20:31Speaker 1: But we're not talking about a when Nats. We're talking
- 20:34Speaker 1: about an l the clock ran out on us, anee
- 20:40Speaker 1: taking fire Huntley. They're just gonna let the clock wind down. Preach,
- 20:43Speaker 1: not even gonna bother taking that last time out, getting
- 20:48Speaker 1: about sick of this segment bump. We've been in a
- 20:51Speaker 1: little bit too much time this year, about double we
- 20:53Speaker 1: were last year. But you know, it is what it is.
- 20:55Speaker 1: For the six times and seven weeks, the Seahawks come
- 20:57Speaker 1: up short, falling in three and eight on the season,
- 21:00Speaker 1: and this came down to the seahawks inability to stay
- 21:02Speaker 1: on the field. Time possession is what really did the Seahawks.
- 21:04Speaker 1: In Washington Football team forty one minutes forty seconds Seahawks
- 21:08Speaker 1: eighteen minutes and twenty seconds. Washington Football team ran seventy
- 21:11Speaker 1: nine plays and the Seahawks ran just forty nine and
- 21:13Speaker 1: ten coming on the final drive. And it's hard to
- 21:16Speaker 1: win that way. When you can't stay in the field,
- 21:17Speaker 1: it's hard to score points lobsided man Also, third downs
- 21:20Speaker 1: were once again to issue, the Seahawks win four for
- 21:22Speaker 1: twelve on third downs. The Seahawks played well overall on defense,
- 21:26Speaker 1: but their inability to get off the field on several
- 21:29Speaker 1: long drives were just too much to overcome. But like
- 21:31Speaker 1: the Seahawks do, they battled to the very end and
- 21:34Speaker 1: had a chance to win the game with fifteen seconds
- 21:36Speaker 1: remaining always in it, man, always in it. You never
- 21:39Speaker 1: there's never any quit in this team. So people can
- 21:42Speaker 1: say whatever they want they can. Of course, people are
- 21:44Speaker 1: gonna talk it's not a great season, so everyone's gonna
- 21:46Speaker 1: question the scheme or this and that whatever. What I
- 21:50Speaker 1: do know is Pete Carroll is a tremendous leader among men,
- 21:53Speaker 1: and every single person who put on the Seahawks uniform
- 21:55Speaker 1: was fighting till the very end. And you can see
- 21:57Speaker 1: it with how hard this defense was playing, how locked
- 21:59Speaker 1: in the offense was playing. To be in that situation
- 22:02Speaker 1: after doing nothing on six straight drives, to be in
- 22:04Speaker 1: a situation knowing you gotta go ninety seven yards and
- 22:06Speaker 1: to then come up and do that, I love to see.
- 22:08Speaker 1: It's a big opposite how this team fights and bump.
- 22:13Speaker 1: They return home this Sunday for another tough divisional matchup
- 22:16Speaker 1: against the forty nine Ers, who are in a three
- 22:18Speaker 1: game win streak. So it's not gonna get any easier
- 22:20Speaker 1: for the Seahawks. Not gonna get easier, but they beat
- 22:24Speaker 1: these dudes already, so they got some kind of mental
- 22:26Speaker 1: edge on them. All right, guys, all about going I
- 22:28Speaker 1: want to know that was hog talk. Recap aetition. The
- 22:31Speaker 1: Seahawks fall to the Washington football team seventeen to fifteen.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Still fighting, still looking to bounce back. I'm Michael Bumpings.
- 22:39Speaker 1: He's NASA Choby. Thanks for hanging out with us.
