- 1:12Speaker 3: hour of hell.
- 1:32Speaker 2: What's up and welcome to Movie Meltdown's Attack of the
- 1:33Speaker 2: Killers soundtrack. I am Brian and we are coming to
- 1:36Speaker 2: you live via digital recording from Wonderfest.
- 1:38Speaker 6: And with me this week is Dr. Gangrene. And who
- 1:42Speaker 6: else is coming along?
- 1:43Speaker 7: It's Misty.
- 1:44Speaker 2: Misty has decided to tag along even though she says
- 1:47Speaker 2: she's going to have nothing to say but smartass comments.
- 1:50Speaker 6: Which I said, how is that different than any other episode?
- 1:53Speaker 2: So last year we were hanging out here and we
- 1:57Speaker 2: were discussing horror movies and the like. And I remembered
- 2:02Speaker 2: you having a thing for music in general, but probably
- 2:07Speaker 2: a specific area, I guess we'll say.
- 2:09Speaker 4: Right on. Yeah, we were talking about movies and we
- 2:10Speaker 4: were talking about horror movies and heavy metal horror movies,
- 2:13Speaker 4: which is kind of like an obsession of mine.
- 2:16Speaker 6: So once hearing that, it was like, well, I was
- 2:18Speaker 6: wanting to do sort of a themed metal thing. since
- 2:21Speaker 6: there's so many weird tie-ins anyway I thought we would
- 2:24Speaker 6: do a episode that was a soundtrack themed episode.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Of metal music and if I if I'll take one
- 2:31Speaker 2: to kick it off and mostly I kind of want
- 2:33Speaker 2: to see what your response to this is because to
- 2:35Speaker 2: me my go-to in it's.
- 2:38Speaker 6: We were discussing this on a recent episode Misty um
- 2:41Speaker 6: I'm a little more hair bandy oh.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Yeah me too totally and then so my my initial
- 2:47Speaker 2: reaction and truthfully I'm surprised I have not played it
- 2:49Speaker 2: on this show before.
- 2:51Speaker 6: Is Dream Warriors.
- 2:52Speaker 8: Oh, yeah.
- 2:53Speaker 2: So if I get a pick, I want to kick
- 2:55Speaker 2: things off with Dream Warriors.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 2:57Speaker 4: That's great. Docking. You've got to love Dream Warriors.
- 3:17Speaker 1: I love you. I'm standing in the night alone Forever
- 4:00Speaker 1: Together We're gonna dream for you Don't wanna dream no
- 4:05Speaker 1: more We're gonna dream for you And maybe tonight Maybe
- 4:21Speaker 1: tonight I hear the voices calling out Calling my name
- 4:38Speaker 1: It's the same desire To feel the fire That's coming
- 4:47Speaker 1: your way I'm standing in the night alone Forever Together
- 6:09Speaker 1: Wait for the spell of illusion bound together. Waiting for you,
- 6:13Speaker 1: dream warriors. Don't want to dream no more. With the
- 6:24Speaker 1: dream warriors. Maybe tonight you'll be gone. We need a
- 6:47Speaker 1: life to be known. We want it all.
- 7:23Speaker 4: I was obsessed with Dokken in the 80s, too, because
- 7:26Speaker 4: they were one of those, you know, which you look
- 7:29Speaker 4: back on it now, and I know the band, they
- 7:31Speaker 4: kind of, I think Don and the guys, they realized
- 7:34Speaker 4: some of it was pretty schlocky, but damn, I loved it,
- 7:38Speaker 4: you know?
- 7:38Speaker 6: I mean, I thought they wrote pretty good stuff.
- 7:40Speaker 2: George, I've heard not great things about him personally, but
- 7:44Speaker 2: he was a hell of a guitarist. Like, everything else
- 7:46Speaker 2: about the band was pretty impressive.
- 7:47Speaker 4: For sure. I think they're one of those guys, maybe...
- 7:50Speaker 4: Is there two versions of Doc and Turing? You know
- 7:52Speaker 4: how some of the bands, there's like two versions of them?
- 7:54Speaker 2: I thought they came back together because I thought it
- 7:56Speaker 2: was really sad when I thought they took the dude's
- 7:59Speaker 2: name away. It's one thing when the band splits up
- 8:01Speaker 2: and you can't use the name anymore, but when it
- 8:02Speaker 2: was his last name, like, sorry, you can't call yourself
- 8:05Speaker 2: a name.
- 8:05Speaker 6: So he had to tour as his own solo Don version.
- 8:09Speaker 2: But then Lynch Mob became its own separate thing and
- 8:12Speaker 2: was touring for a while because I actually saw them
- 8:14Speaker 2: at one point.
- 8:14Speaker 6: They were, again, pretty impressive with a totally different singer, obviously.
- 8:18Speaker 2: But then I thought in the last 10 years, they
- 8:21Speaker 2: at least got back together and did a reunion tour,
- 8:23Speaker 2: put another album out. Now, I don't know if since
- 8:25Speaker 2: then they have decided to break up again.
- 8:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:28Speaker 6: I've heard there are many personal problems in that band.
- 8:31Speaker 2: But to me, that's almost like that's sort of the
- 8:34Speaker 2: jump the shark moment for them in general. Like, I
- 8:36Speaker 2: don't think it got any better than them on Dream Warriors.
- 8:39Speaker 6: Like, it is so like.
- 8:41Speaker 2: They're kind of at the top of their game musically.
- 8:43Speaker 2: They had a couple albums sort of get rolling on.
- 8:45Speaker 2: That's probably the most money they ever threw at them
- 8:48Speaker 2: was that album was right around that time. They got
- 8:50Speaker 2: the most money to produce whatever the hell they wanted.
- 8:52Speaker 2: And it's to me, it works so well within that
- 8:56Speaker 2: story because these kids are the kind of dorks that
- 8:58Speaker 2: would be listening to Dawkins.
- 8:59Speaker 6: So it's like it all kind of tied.
- 9:01Speaker 2: Together perfectly in that movie. I also was obviously a
- 9:05Speaker 2: geek because I bought it on single. How far back
- 9:08Speaker 2: are we going there?
- 9:09Speaker 4: Well, I think it's cool. It's a neat chapter in
- 9:11Speaker 4: the band's history to be able to say that you
- 9:13Speaker 4: did a song for a movie, you know, for a
- 9:15Speaker 4: franchise as iconic as the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise.
- 9:19Speaker 4: I watched that documentary about the Nightmare... Never Sleep Again,
- 9:24Speaker 4: the fantastic documentary. I mean, as far as documentaries go,
- 9:27Speaker 4: it's as good as any documentary out there.
- 9:29Speaker 6: I was always a little more partial to the Nightmare series.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Anyway, even when they got bad, like, I feel like
- 9:35Speaker 2: 1 and 3 are pretty great, to use its own
- 9:37Speaker 2: weird thing.
- 9:38Speaker 9: But, um.
- 9:39Speaker 2: Even the later ones that got really kind of silly,
- 9:42Speaker 2: and it was all like comedy more than it was horror,
- 9:45Speaker 2: but it was still so much more imaginative and interesting
- 9:49Speaker 2: to watch than your standard slasher knockoffs, which there were
- 9:52Speaker 2: a million of out there.
- 9:53Speaker 4: I was never a fan of it, but I did
- 9:55Speaker 4: like Dokken, of course, and I did like that song,
- 9:57Speaker 4: and I'm glad that they talked about that.
- 10:00Speaker 7: In that. Yeah.
- 10:01Speaker 2: So that was my entry to ease us into it
- 10:04Speaker 2: here with probably the most mainstream version.
- 10:06Speaker 7: I've seen that video twice in the past week. Ever
- 10:08Speaker 7: since we got the fancy internet TV cable thing.
- 10:11Speaker 6: Nice.
- 10:11Speaker 7: The Metal Mania on VH1. That has been one of
- 10:14Speaker 7: their top plays on there.
- 10:16Speaker 1: Sweet.
- 10:16Speaker 2: That I think was also a nice tie-in was that
- 10:18Speaker 2: was at the peak of music videos too. And they
- 10:22Speaker 2: did such a good video that totally tied in scenes
- 10:25Speaker 2: from the movie with their own separate music video. They
- 10:28Speaker 2: built it on a set that looked like the set
- 10:30Speaker 2: from the movie. They actually had Patricia Arquette in the
- 10:33Speaker 2: video doing extra scenes with them. So it's like, Again,
- 10:37Speaker 2: that was just an impressive video that perfectly kind of
- 10:40Speaker 2: tied it in there too.
- 10:41Speaker 6: Very cool.
- 10:42Speaker 2: So that was my entry, but I'm going to turn
- 10:44Speaker 2: the rest over to you because I know you've got
- 10:47Speaker 2: a good list going here.
- 10:48Speaker 6: So how would you like to kick it off from
- 10:50Speaker 6: here on?
- 10:51Speaker 4: I think we've got to start with sort of what
- 10:53Speaker 4: I call the Citizen Kane of heavy metal horror movies.
- 10:56Speaker 4: And that is 1986's Trick or Treat.
- 11:00Speaker 7: That was Skippy?
- 11:01Speaker 6: Yes, it does have Skippy.
- 11:02Speaker 4: It does have Skippy.
- 11:03Speaker 6: We did a full episode on the... He was sweating.
- 11:05Speaker 6: The movie, but yeah, I don't think we've gotten into
- 11:08Speaker 6: the Fastway action.
- 11:09Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 11:10Speaker 4: Yeah, so Fastway did all the music for the movie,
- 11:13Speaker 4: which is fantastic. Of course, you got cameos from Gene
- 11:16Speaker 4: Simmons and Ozzy Osbourne, and you got the whole satanic
- 11:20Speaker 4: panic angle of it. You know, it's one of those
- 11:24Speaker 4: movies that's definitely, I mean, it definitely plays right in
- 11:29Speaker 4: so into that whole time period and that whole thing
- 11:32Speaker 4: that was going on with the, Back masking. Yeah, man.
- 11:36Speaker 4: And the congressional. I mean, you think back on it now,
- 11:38Speaker 4: it's almost impossible to believe that they brought people, that
- 11:42Speaker 4: Congress brought rock and rollers in there to talk about
- 11:45Speaker 4: how bad rock music was for the kids. I mean,
- 11:48Speaker 4: it's just like the comic book stuff in the 50s.
- 11:50Speaker 4: It's unbelievable.
- 11:52Speaker 6: Dee Snider.
- 11:53Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 11:54Speaker 2: I mean, the fact that he walked in in his
- 11:56Speaker 2: cut-off jean jacket and like, again, he's not an idiot.
- 11:59Speaker 6: So, like, I went back and watched it recently on YouTube.
- 12:01Speaker 2: He just sort of lays it out for Tipper Gore
- 12:04Speaker 2: or whoever all was up there. And, like, he just
- 12:05Speaker 2: totally defends, like, not only, you know, heavy metal's cool,
- 12:09Speaker 2: but the fact that we're artists, this is what we do,
- 12:11Speaker 2: this is all fictional, none of it.
- 12:13Speaker 6: Like, he's just, again, it was so interesting watching that.
- 12:16Speaker 2: Like, he was the most level-headed rock star out there that, like,
- 12:19Speaker 2: sat down and, like, fought for their right to do
- 12:21Speaker 2: whatever they.
- 12:21Speaker 6: Wanted to do.
- 12:22Speaker 7: Because that's what you think of when you think of
- 12:23Speaker 7: logic and reason is we're not going to.
- 12:25Speaker 6: Take it and the big, uh, The giant hair and
- 12:27Speaker 6: the makeup.
- 12:28Speaker 7: That's because that's serious business right there.
- 12:30Speaker 4: That's where I would start. I would tell anybody, if
- 12:31Speaker 4: you want to watch, you know, one of the movies
- 12:33Speaker 4: in this genre, start there. And it's as good as
- 12:35Speaker 4: it gets, probably, you know, because it had production value,
- 12:38Speaker 4: had great music. Fastway's a great band. I interviewed Fast
- 12:41Speaker 4: Eddie Clark one time, who, of course, is from Motorhead,
- 12:45Speaker 4: broke off and started his own band, Fastway. And, you know,
- 12:50Speaker 4: he was talking about how they got the gig to
- 12:53Speaker 4: do the music and everything and how much he enjoyed
- 12:55Speaker 4: doing it and, what a good time it was. So, yeah,
- 12:59Speaker 4: for sure.
- 13:00Speaker 2: Yeah, because then the singer, it was not much longer.
- 13:04Speaker 2: I thought he died quite a while ago.
- 13:05Speaker 4: No, no, he split off and started doing this Irish music.
- 13:08Speaker 6: It's not quite the same at all. No, no.
- 13:11Speaker 7: Doing a jig somewhere.
- 13:12Speaker 6: Probably.
- 13:13Speaker 7: I think Irish and Scottish. I think there's jigs involved.
- 13:15Speaker 4: So, yeah, so that band didn't last long after that.
- 13:20Speaker 4: But they're doing a good job here. So I picked
- 13:22Speaker 4: a couple songs off of it to play.
- 13:24Speaker 6: All right. What do we want to go with?
- 13:25Speaker 4: I would say the song Trick or Treat, the song,
- 13:29Speaker 4: the debut song, the titular song.
- 13:31Speaker 1: ¶ ¶ ¶ Say don't leave ¶ ¶ Everything's all
- 13:51Speaker 1: right ¶ ¶ Everything is cool ¶ I ain't dude
- 13:57Speaker 1: say I like your style It's the way it should
- 14:02Speaker 1: Maybe you'll see Someone as good as fellow me Rock
- 14:12Speaker 1: and roll, rockin' on a midnight Steal your soul Rock
- 14:20Speaker 1: and roll, rockin' on a midnight Take control Looking for
- 14:29Speaker 1: a sweet surprise It's a trick or treat See my face,
- 14:35Speaker 1: truth in disguise If ever we should meet Maybe you'll
- 14:40Speaker 1: see Someone has put a spell on me Rock and
- 14:49Speaker 1: roll Rock it on midnight Steal your.
- 14:55Speaker 9: Soul Rock and roll.
- 14:59Speaker 10: Rock it all on midnight.
- 15:03Speaker 9: Take control.
- 15:05Speaker 1: So let's rock.
- 15:08Speaker 7: Rock.
- 15:09Speaker 11: Rock.
- 15:41Speaker 9: Rock and roll, rock it all midnight Steal your.
- 15:46Speaker 1: Soul Rock and roll, rock it all midnight Take control
- 15:54Speaker 1: Rock and roll, rock it all midnight Steal your soul And.
- 16:10Speaker 4: Then there's another one that I really like called Don't
- 16:17Speaker 4: Stop the Fight. I did a podcast for a while
- 16:21Speaker 4: where I was talking about heavy metal horror movies, and
- 16:24Speaker 4: I used just the beginning of it, the guitar riff,
- 16:27Speaker 4: for my opening.
- 16:31Speaker 11: Bye. Bye.
- 17:08Speaker 1: Superstitions in my mind Over.
- 17:14Speaker 9: And over, losing.
- 17:15Speaker 1: Time Sometimes it feels so far away Sometimes it gets
- 17:23Speaker 1: so hard.
- 17:24Speaker 10: To say.
- 17:39Speaker 9: Don't stop the fight.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Every night's a crazy dream I've been.
- 18:13Speaker 12: Hurting, no one knows Through it all the pain still
- 18:19Speaker 12: grows Sometimes you feel so far away.
- 18:29Speaker 9: Sometimes you get Don't stop the fight.
- 18:40Speaker 1: Don't die now Don't stop the fight He was a
- 19:03Speaker 1: rotten boy He never liked being kicked Don't do it
- 19:08Speaker 1: Don't do it He was a foolish boy Don't ask
- 19:11Speaker 1: me why But he could steal your.
- 19:33Speaker 9: Sometimes it feels so.
- 19:35Speaker 13: Far away Sometimes it gets so hard to.
- 19:44Speaker 1: Say Don't stop the fight Don't die now Don't stop
- 19:56Speaker 1: the fight Don't die now Don't stop the fight Don't
- 20:09Speaker 1: die now, don't stop the fight. Don't die now, don't
- 20:16Speaker 1: stop the fight. Don't die now, don't stop the fight.
- 20:31Speaker 6: Wake up, sleepyhead.
- 20:41Speaker 3: Rock and roll will never die. At least not this Halloween.
- 20:48Speaker 1: Inverted. Raising spirits from the dead by incantations, right?
- 20:51Speaker 10: Yes.
- 20:52Speaker 8: I did that by playing the record backwards.
- 20:54Speaker 10: You're kidding.
- 20:57Speaker 3: Sammy Kerr. He's a rock and roll nightmare. I am
- 21:03Speaker 3: a big fan of yours.
- 21:04Speaker 14: I've got all your records.
- 21:04Speaker 9: Shut up!
- 21:07Speaker 1: You're the man. The man is you.
- 21:10Speaker 3: This message, it's meant for me.
- 21:13Speaker 5: How can you listen to this stuff?
- 21:16Speaker 1: Rock and roll, rock it home in the city of soul.
- 21:24Speaker 1: Shut it off!
- 21:26Speaker 10: Shut it off! Rock and roll, rock it home in
- 21:29Speaker 10: the city of soul.
- 21:30Speaker 7: What have you done to your stereo?
- 21:32Speaker 9: I wanted a new one.
- 21:33Speaker 3: Sammy Kerr. His fans won't let him die. He won't
- 21:38Speaker 3: let them live. You should be loyal to your hero.
- 21:45Speaker 6: Make it.
- 21:48Speaker 10: Turn on you.
- 21:54Speaker 9: Trick or treat.
- 21:56Speaker 5: Looks like we better check out the party punch. Want
- 22:06Speaker 5: some music for your ears? Doo-Wop Shop makes it easy
- 22:08Speaker 5: to rent for any event, business meeting, or special occasion.
- 22:12Speaker 5: From PA systems to karaoke machines to just about anything
- 22:15Speaker 5: that makes noise, you can rent it from the Doo-Wop Shop.
- 22:17Speaker 5: In Louisville, find them either at their Highland Store at
- 22:20Speaker 5: 1587 Bardstown Road or in the East End at 2915
- 22:24Speaker 5: South Hurstburn Parkway. And look for them online at DooWopShop.com.
- 22:28Speaker 5: Doo-Wop Shop, we're serious about music.
- 22:37Speaker 1: We're not gonna take it No, we ain't gonna take it.
- 22:50Speaker 15: I'm Dee Snyder from Twisted Sister, writer, star of Strangeland, radio, TV,
- 22:55Speaker 15: you know me. And you're listening to Movie Meltdown.
- 22:59Speaker 9: Yeah. This is our life. This is our song.
- 23:06Speaker 4: Next, I have written down 1984's Monster Dog, starring Alice Cooper.
- 23:10Speaker 4: Have you seen this movie?
- 23:12Speaker 6: I'm familiar with it. I don't know if I've gotten
- 23:14Speaker 6: through it in its entirety.
- 23:16Speaker 7: He tends to fall asleep during movies a lot.
- 23:18Speaker 4: Oh, that's true. But I'm older than you, so believe me,
- 23:22Speaker 4: it happens to me all the time. My son's always
- 23:24Speaker 4: talking to me and taking him to midnight movies at
- 23:25Speaker 4: the Belcourt, which is our local art house movie.
- 23:27Speaker 1: Dude.
- 23:28Speaker 6: You can't do that anymore. Nap time.
- 23:30Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 23:31Speaker 6: Like, okay, we'll go to the movie, and if I
- 23:33Speaker 6: fall asleep, it's not my fault. Yeah.
- 23:37Speaker 4: So, yeah, Alice Cooper. This movie was directed by Claudio Fregazzi,
- 23:42Speaker 4: who is the guy that made Troll 2, the infamous
- 23:45Speaker 4: Troll 2.
- 23:46Speaker 6: Infamous it is.
- 23:46Speaker 4: Yeah, so it's an Italian movie. Alice Cooper is in
- 23:50Speaker 4: a band, and they're going to record some music videos,
- 23:53Speaker 4: and there's a legend of a werewolf in the area.
- 23:58Speaker 4: So we got this werewolf running around killing people. When
- 24:01Speaker 4: he comes back to town, the killing starts again. Is
- 24:04Speaker 4: Alice Cooper a werewolf? We don't know.
- 24:06Speaker 6: Does he play Alice Cooper?
- 24:08Speaker 1: No.
- 24:09Speaker 6: He plays Vincent.
- 24:13Speaker 4: Raven. Vincent Raven.
- 24:14Speaker 7: That is such a rock star name. When I start
- 24:17Speaker 7: my rock band, my second one that I haven't done
- 24:20Speaker 7: the first one yet either, but that's my band.
- 24:23Speaker 6: You're stealing his name? Yeah.
- 24:25Speaker 4: That's the name of your band, Vincent Raven? Yeah.
- 24:27Speaker 7: I mean, my second band.
- 24:28Speaker 4: Nice.
- 24:29Speaker 6: My third band.
- 24:30Speaker 2: Sorry. He can't get very upset since Alice Cooper kind
- 24:32Speaker 2: of stole his name from his own band.
- 24:34Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 24:35Speaker 2: If I remember how the legal proceedings worked, he stole
- 24:38Speaker 2: his own name.
- 24:39Speaker 4: So yeah, so Monster Dog would definitely be. And the
- 24:42Speaker 4: song from it is, there's two songs in the movie,
- 24:45Speaker 4: but the first one is Identity Crisis.
- 24:48Speaker 6: Identity Crisis.
- 24:51Speaker 4: Identity Crisis.
- 24:54Speaker 6: You don't argue with Alice.
- 24:56Speaker 4: You don't argue with me.
- 25:06Speaker 1: Sometimes I'm James Bond Sometimes I'm Billy the Kid Sometimes

- 27:11Speaker 1: Sometimes I feel like Jack the Ripper. Cause I've got

- 27:21Speaker 1: I took it in the face cause mine's been erased.
- 27:26Speaker 9: Identity crisis is.
- 27:44Speaker 6: We've seen Alice many a time, and he's pretty awesome.
- 27:47Speaker 7: I've only seen him once.
- 27:47Speaker 6: I've seen him. I thought he played there twice.
- 27:51Speaker 7: I only saw him once.
- 27:52Speaker 10: Oh, well.
- 27:52Speaker 6: Well, we've seen Alice, and he's awesome.
- 27:55Speaker 7: He didn't get rained out.
- 27:56Speaker 2: Yeah, he still puts on a hell of a live show.
- 27:58Speaker 6: This was not that long ago, and he's still today.
- 28:00Speaker 4: Oh, his voice sounds great.
- 28:01Speaker 2: Yeah, he's still, I mean, he's still putting on, I mean,
- 28:03Speaker 2: he ran around that set the whole time.
- 28:05Speaker 6: He killed himself like six or seven times. Like, he
- 28:08Speaker 6: still puts on such an amazing live show.
- 28:09Speaker 4: We saw him twice on the tour with Alice, with
- 28:12Speaker 4: Rob Zombie. And I can't tell you, I mean, it
- 28:14Speaker 4: was a toss-up. I thought Alice probably was better than Rob.
- 28:18Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 28:18Speaker 4: I mean, his voice sound is so good, and he
- 28:21Speaker 4: hasn't missed a beat, you know.
- 28:24Speaker 7: He's awesome.
- 28:25Speaker 4: Alright, so next up, we got 1987's Rock and Roll Nightmare.
- 28:30Speaker 5: Nice.
- 28:30Speaker 4: Now, I love this movie.
- 28:31Speaker 6: Speaking of infamous.
- 28:32Speaker 4: Yes, John Michael Thor. That's the one with the cover
- 28:37Speaker 4: that's in 3D.
- 28:38Speaker 7: Was it the one with the roses and the guitar?
- 28:42Speaker 6: I think it's Black Roses.
- 28:43Speaker 7: Oh, I was a little confused. I haven't seen any
- 28:44Speaker 7: of this movie.
- 28:45Speaker 6: I like Black Roses. Never mind.
- 28:47Speaker 7: Forget Misty.
- 28:48Speaker 6: Don't forget Tony. We'll keep back to it.
- 28:49Speaker 4: They're from the same director.
- 28:50Speaker 15: Okay.
- 28:51Speaker 4: John Fasano directed it. This movie is amazing and I've
- 28:56Speaker 4: met Thor. I know Thor. I'm friends with Thor. If
- 28:59Speaker 4: you buy the soundtrack to this album, I am listed
- 29:02Speaker 4: in the liner notes. Special thanks to Dr. Gane Green,
- 29:06Speaker 4: which I had nothing to do with the soundtrack, but
- 29:08Speaker 4: I was helping Thor promote his tour at the time
- 29:13Speaker 4: when he was putting this thing together. So I guess
- 29:14Speaker 4: he just wanted to thank me. It was a total
- 29:16Speaker 4: surprise to me that he did that.
- 29:20Speaker 6: That's pretty awesome.
- 29:21Speaker 4: We showed this movie in Nashville at a little club
- 29:23Speaker 4: called The Basement. And Thor and I sat on stage
- 29:26Speaker 4: and did the running commentary throughout the movie where I
- 29:29Speaker 4: would ask him questions and we would talk about how
- 29:31Speaker 4: he made the movie and everything. And then his band
- 29:33Speaker 4: played afterwards. It was pretty epic.
- 29:35Speaker 6: That is pretty epic.
- 29:36Speaker 4: This movie is amazing for the audience. twist in it.
- 29:41Speaker 4: I will not spoil it.
- 29:42Speaker 1: What a shame that a few bad apples have to
- 29:46Speaker 1: spoil a good time for everyone.
- 29:48Speaker 4: Listen, anybody who has not seen this, do not let
- 29:51Speaker 4: anyone spoil the ending for you because it is one
- 29:54Speaker 4: of those... what-the-fuck endings, one of the greatest, probably the
- 29:59Speaker 4: greatest what-the-fuck ending, where it jumps so far out of
- 30:02Speaker 4: the realm of making sense that you're just like, holy...
- 30:06Speaker 4: You've got to see it to believe it. So a
- 30:09Speaker 4: band goes away to record a new album, and while
- 30:15Speaker 4: they're there, strange... Things start happening.
- 30:18Speaker 7: Are they nightmare type things?
- 30:21Speaker 4: Little small weird creatures. Okay, it starts a prologue. A
- 30:24Speaker 4: family was murdered in the house years ago. And the
- 30:27Speaker 4: demonic creatures are running around. So these little demon creatures
- 30:30Speaker 4: start showing up. People start getting killed. And again, I
- 30:36Speaker 4: cannot reveal the twist in it because I would be.
- 30:39Speaker 6: A dick if I did that.
- 30:41Speaker 7: If I had seen it, I'd probably ruin it for
- 30:42Speaker 7: you because I am a dick.
- 30:43Speaker 6: You probably would.
- 30:45Speaker 4: So make her, you guys need to get this movie
- 30:47Speaker 4: and watch it. Seriously. You'll be watching it and you'll
- 30:50Speaker 4: be thinking, why in the hell did he tell me what,
- 30:53Speaker 4: this is the worst piece of shit I've ever seen
- 30:55Speaker 4: in my life. But then when you get to the finale,
- 30:58Speaker 4: you'll be like, this is the greatest movie ever.
- 31:00Speaker 7: All right.
- 31:03Speaker 2: So next time we can't think of what we're watching
- 31:05Speaker 2: on Netflix.
- 31:06Speaker 7: We're just going to watch this.
- 31:07Speaker 4: Do you have a copy?
- 31:08Speaker 6: I will have to get a copy.
- 31:09Speaker 4: You need to get a copy of this.
- 31:11Speaker 10: Yes.
- 31:11Speaker 7: Okay.
- 31:12Speaker 4: So there's two songs we need to listen to. We
- 31:13Speaker 4: accept the challenge. And we live to rock.
- 31:17Speaker 3: Nice.
- 31:18Speaker 7: Sounds pretty great.
- 31:57Speaker 1: Love you, don't back down I've been chasing you's and
- 32:38Speaker 1: you's Feel so comfortable and I hold the wheel.
- 32:58Speaker 9: Nothing can stop us.
- 33:01Speaker 1: Life is so unreal. I take life as it comes.
- 33:04Speaker 9: I live from day to day.
- 33:06Speaker 1: I wake at night, sleep with the sun.
- 33:10Speaker 10: I shout out my way. Thank you. so so.
- 35:30Speaker 9: Come on, let's tune our weapons.
- 35:46Speaker 1: What's the sound moving through the ages? What's the sound
- 35:49Speaker 1: running over pages? Rock! Talk about rock! What's the power
- 35:52Speaker 1: that can feed the hungry? What it all makes people happy?
- 35:56Speaker 10: Rock!
- 36:25Speaker 1: The Russian girls are dancing to a brand new beat.
- 36:26Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 36:26Speaker 1: We live, we live to rock. We live, we live
- 36:28Speaker 1: to rock. This kind of music. We live, we live
- 36:42Speaker 1: to rock We live, we live to rock We live,
- 36:43Speaker 1: we live to rock They keep on rockin' round the
- 36:45Speaker 1: clock We live, we live to rock I love this music,
- 36:48Speaker 1: love to see the crowd Shakin' in the aisles, screamin'
- 36:49Speaker 1: out loud Rockin' Can't you see I can't stop it
- 37:14Speaker 1: cause it's here to stay It's all about rock We live,
- 37:20Speaker 1: we live to rock We live, we live to rock
- 37:25Speaker 1: Our kind of music won't ever stop We live, we
- 37:31Speaker 1: live to rock.
- 37:41Speaker 10: We live, we live to rock. We live, we live
- 37:41Speaker 10: to rock.
- 37:42Speaker 1: Into the sky, lock it on up. We live, we
- 37:43Speaker 1: live to rock.
- 38:10Speaker 10: We'll be right back.
- 38:53Speaker 4: So next up, we're going to go visit back to
- 38:56Speaker 4: 1984 for the movie Rocktober Blood. That's a cool title.
- 39:01Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 39:02Speaker 2: I mean, that's back when they were making specific horror
- 39:04Speaker 2: movies that could Get away with a movie like Rocked
- 39:08Speaker 2: Over Blood.
- 39:10Speaker 6: You couldn't title that now. People would take it ironically,
- 39:13Speaker 6: but it's dead serious in 1980s.
- 39:14Speaker 4: Oh, man, it's great. So the music from this one
- 39:18Speaker 4: is from a band called Sorcery. They also did the
- 39:23Speaker 4: soundtrack for another album, a movie we're going to talk
- 39:25Speaker 4: about in a little bit. But for this one, band
- 39:27Speaker 4: again recording in the studio. The lead singer goes crazy,
- 39:32Speaker 4: starts killing people, and the police shoot and kill him.
- 39:35Speaker 6: Good times.
- 39:35Speaker 4: We flip back to the future where the band's getting
- 39:38Speaker 4: back together, got a new lead singer. They're going to
- 39:41Speaker 4: start getting back on tour and whatnot, and people start
- 39:45Speaker 4: getting offed again. The new lead singer, the woman this time,
- 39:48Speaker 4: she starts seeing the original– singer Billy I. Again, she's like, oh,
- 39:53Speaker 4: I saw Billy. And they're like, yeah, Billy's dead. What
- 39:55Speaker 4: are you talking about? So it's got some truly over
- 39:59Speaker 4: the top parts at the end where the band is
- 40:01Speaker 4: playing on stage and the singer's actually killing people on stage.
- 40:06Speaker 4: You like cut someone's head off and throws it in
- 40:07Speaker 4: the audience, but no one, no one notices.
- 40:09Speaker 2: I mean, you can get away with that really. If
- 40:11Speaker 2: it's the kind of show where they do that stuff again.
- 40:14Speaker 2: I mean, how many times does Alice kill himself in
- 40:16Speaker 2: a show? One of these times it might go wrong
- 40:17Speaker 2: and people would know for a while. They'd still be
- 40:19Speaker 2: listening to the band and be like.
- 40:21Speaker 4: All right, how come Alice is coming back on? That's
- 40:23Speaker 4: all that matters.
- 40:24Speaker 6: So you can get away with killing people on, you know,
- 40:26Speaker 6: if you've got a good stage show.
- 40:28Speaker 4: So Rocktoberblood and, and the soundtrack sorcery, like I said,
- 40:31Speaker 4: there is, it's really good music. Um, We've got a
- 40:33Speaker 4: couple of different songs, one called I'm Back, and then
- 40:35Speaker 4: another called There's a Killer on the Loose.
- 40:38Speaker 9: Let's rock!
- 41:07Speaker 12: Now your time is running out, it's guilt.
- 41:12Speaker 1: For killing's sake When you least expect it, I will attack.
- 41:30Speaker 9: We'll be right back. I will attack.
- 42:21Speaker 10: I'll see you.
- 42:26Speaker 1: Next time. Let me help you down back © BF-WATCH
- 45:10Speaker 1: TV 2021 There's a killer on the loose Now he's
- 46:35Speaker 1: stalking you Come back from the.
- 46:37Speaker 9: Grave With a wrath.
- 46:39Speaker 11: Of vengeance too For his cloak of mystery Soon will
- 46:44Speaker 11: disappear Once you see his face Your mind will fill
- 46:49Speaker 11: with fear There's.
- 46:51Speaker 1: A killer on the loose Better try to hide There's
- 46:55Speaker 1: a killer on the loose It's your turn to.
- 46:59Speaker 8: Die Once it chooses you Your time comes to.
- 47:13Speaker 9: An end And the death that you've been feeling Will.
- 47:15Speaker 5: Reach you at the beginning Well it's not.
- 47:17Speaker 1: What you expected And it won't be clean or nice
- 47:20Speaker 1: When he gets his hands on you They'll put your
- 47:23Speaker 1: ass on ice There's a killer on the loose That'll try.
- 47:26Speaker 9: To hide There's a killer on the loose.
- 47:28Speaker 1: It's your time to die.
- 48:07Speaker 11: Now your time to die is coming very soon Well.
- 48:11Speaker 9: I know that I'll be killing.
- 48:13Speaker 13: You Before I've done this too Well, there's only one.
- 48:16Speaker 1: More course And so surely.
- 48:18Speaker 11: You can see That the one who's doing all these deeds.
- 48:23Speaker 1: In the name of death is me There's a killer
- 48:26Speaker 1: at loose You better.
- 48:28Speaker 9: Try to hide.
- 48:43Speaker 4: Speaking of sorcery, they did the soundtrack for the next
- 48:46Speaker 4: song we're going to talk about, which is Stunt Rock
- 48:48Speaker 4: from 1980.
- 48:50Speaker 6: Very infamous.
- 48:51Speaker 4: Have you seen that movie?
- 48:53Speaker 6: I'm familiar with Stunt Rock.
- 48:54Speaker 4: Stunt Rock is great because it is probably the most
- 48:57Speaker 4: honest title for a movie ever.
- 48:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 48:59Speaker 4: That I've ever seen. Because that movie is about two things.
- 49:02Speaker 4: Stunts and rock and roll. And that's it. I mean,
- 49:07Speaker 4: there's really no plot.
- 49:08Speaker 6: And wizards.
- 49:10Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 49:10Speaker 4: I mean, you've got a stuntman who comes to L.A.
- 49:16Speaker 4: And he is visiting his friend who. has a rock
- 49:20Speaker 4: and roll band where you have wizards and the devil
- 49:23Speaker 4: that battle on stage. And he goes to these different
- 49:26Speaker 4: shows and watches them play. And in between, he goes
- 49:28Speaker 4: back to the set and does these amazing stunts. And
- 49:31Speaker 4: that's your movie.
- 49:32Speaker 6: There's no.
- 49:34Speaker 4: Lot there's no story arc it's just awesome stunts and
- 49:37Speaker 4: kick-ass rock and roll with crazy stage antics.
- 49:39Speaker 2: Yeah it's almost like it's a concert film only then
- 49:43Speaker 2: it stops to be crazy in a different way yeah
- 49:47Speaker 2: it's like now let's jump a bike over something.
- 49:49Speaker 4: Yeah exactly and blow some some things up it's it's
- 49:52Speaker 4: truly impressive so sorcery again and the song i chose
- 49:56Speaker 4: was called sacrifice.
- 50:24Speaker 1: We'll be right back.
- 51:22Speaker 10: Thank you.
- 52:56Speaker 1: We'll be right back.
- 53:29Speaker 10: We'll be.
- 53:34Speaker 1: Right back.

- 55:13Speaker 6: This is Julie Adams, and you are listening to Movie Meltdown.
- 55:19Speaker 1: Movie Meltdown.
- 55:33Speaker 4: So next we jump back up to 1985. We've got
- 55:36Speaker 4: the infamous, you used that word before, it's truly appropriate
- 55:40Speaker 4: for hard rock zombies.
- 55:42Speaker 1: Nice.
- 55:43Speaker 4: Have you seen that one?
- 55:44Speaker 6: I was watching the video earlier. I think I'm traumatized
- 55:48Speaker 6: by the video.
- 55:50Speaker 4: Yeah, this one is pushing it to call it a
- 55:52Speaker 4: heavy metal horror movie because it's a rock band, okay?
- 55:54Speaker 4: But that's about the extent of it. But this one
- 55:58Speaker 4: is definitely on the lower budget side of things when
- 56:01Speaker 4: it comes to these movies. You've got a band that's,
- 56:04Speaker 4: this guy has gotten a hold of a book of spells,
- 56:07Speaker 4: and he has started writing music using lyrics from the book.
- 56:11Speaker 4: There's a cool little scene where the band's driving in
- 56:13Speaker 4: a van, and a guy swats and kills a fly. Well,
- 56:17Speaker 4: you have the lead singers in the back, and he's
- 56:19Speaker 4: got the guitar, and he's singing lyrics from this book
- 56:22Speaker 4: while he's playing the guitar. Well, the fly keeps coming
- 56:24Speaker 4: to life. And somebody smacks the fly and kills it again.
- 56:27Speaker 4: The guy's back there singing, and the fly comes back
- 56:29Speaker 4: to life. It's like a damn it. This fly won't die.
- 56:31Speaker 4: What's going on here? That's just a neat little touch.
- 56:34Speaker 4: You know, that's kind of cool.
- 56:35Speaker 6: That's cool.
- 56:36Speaker 4: This movie is nuts. You've got, in addition to the band,
- 56:39Speaker 4: you've got Nazis, Hitler, Ava Braun is a werewolf and
- 56:43Speaker 4: a midget all in this town.
- 56:45Speaker 6: That's not how I do it.
- 56:46Speaker 7: This is all in one movie.
- 56:48Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 56:49Speaker 6: And they're skateboarding and there's some miming going on at
- 56:52Speaker 6: one point.
- 56:52Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 56:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 56:53Speaker 4: It's got it all, man. This movie's got it all.
- 56:56Speaker 4: The band gets killed. Uh, chick that he's met and
- 57:00Speaker 4: fallen and kind of fallen in love with that in
- 57:02Speaker 4: a town plays a cassette tape, uh, with the recording
- 57:05Speaker 4: of him singing lyrics from the book, which brings them
- 57:08Speaker 4: back to dead to battle Hitler and his minions. How
- 57:12Speaker 4: epic is that? And you've got to see the zombie March.
- 57:15Speaker 6: So dead snow stole their ideas. What we're learning.
- 57:19Speaker 4: There you go. That's right. Hard rock zombies did it first.
- 57:22Speaker 4: This song again, not really heavy metal, but, um, It's
- 57:25Speaker 4: in the song. It's very special. It's in the.
- 57:29Speaker 1: Movie, so nah, nah, nah. I said it don't come easy.
- 57:40Speaker 19: And if it does, it tends to fade You gotta
- 57:47Speaker 19: try and keep believing What a feeling when the thoughts
- 57:51Speaker 19: are Well, there's a challenge every day.
- 59:00Speaker 1: Well, take your shot, you may have no others.
- 59:11Speaker 9: Well, that's a challenge every day.
- 59:59Speaker 6: Special, that's what it is.
- 1:00:01Speaker 4: All right, so next we're going to jump back to 1980.
- 1:00:04Speaker 4: This is the earliest movie in our list. We have
- 1:00:07Speaker 4: a band called Shadow from the movie New Year's Evil.
- 1:00:11Speaker 4: You've seen that one, right?
- 1:00:12Speaker 6: That was, yeah, I dug it out this past New
- 1:00:15Speaker 6: Year's Eve, actually. Yeah. It's like that's the way to
- 1:00:18Speaker 6: ring in the new year. New Year's Evil.
- 1:00:20Speaker 4: That's it. And it's good. It's your kind of classic
- 1:00:25Speaker 4: slasher movie.
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:00:26Speaker 4: Except there's a band playing for the Midnight Countdown, and
- 1:00:31Speaker 4: they sing a song that's titled New Year's Evil, which
- 1:00:33Speaker 4: is the one we're going to play. While this is
- 1:00:35Speaker 4: going on, there's a whole subplot of a slasher going
- 1:00:38Speaker 4: around killing people and whatnot. The band doesn't really have
- 1:00:40Speaker 4: much to do with the slasher, but.
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: It is funny how much there was just such a
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: subgenre that kicked in, because the 80s was the 80s,
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: that it worked its way into just normal plot lines
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: of like, oh yeah, and then this band comes along,
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: and demons, and you know.
- 1:00:55Speaker 4: Oh, and there's way, way more than we're even going
- 1:00:58Speaker 4: to try to get to tonight. But there's no end.
- 1:01:01Speaker 4: Every time I turn around, I'm finding new ones. I
- 1:01:03Speaker 4: watched one on Netflix just the other day called Splatter.
- 1:01:08Speaker 6: And it was from the era?
- 1:01:09Speaker 4: No, no, it's brand new.
- 1:01:10Speaker 9: It's new?
- 1:01:11Speaker 16: Oh.
- 1:01:11Speaker 4: And not only that, but it's directed by Joe Dante.
- 1:01:15Speaker 4: And it's a short film. I can't figure out what
- 1:01:18Speaker 4: the heck it is, except I looked it up on IMDb,
- 1:01:20Speaker 4: and it said it was a series, and there were
- 1:01:23Speaker 4: like 10 episodes or something. I don't know because the
- 1:01:28Speaker 4: thing that's on Netflix is a standalone episode. But it's
- 1:01:32Speaker 4: got a rocker that comes back from the dead to
- 1:01:34Speaker 4: get revenge on people that did him wrong. His manager,
- 1:01:37Speaker 4: a groupie. The one with Corey Feldman. Corey Feldman, yes.
- 1:01:42Speaker 7: I've seen that.
- 1:01:43Speaker 4: It's pretty awful.
- 1:01:44Speaker 7: I have seen something you've talked about.
- 1:01:47Speaker 4: But it's kind of cool but kind of not at
- 1:01:50Speaker 4: the same time. I don't know.
- 1:01:51Speaker 6: Yeah, I remember they did that series. Was that in
- 1:01:54Speaker 6: one of the Masters of Horror or something?
- 1:01:56Speaker 4: No, it wasn't a Masters of Horror.
- 1:01:57Speaker 6: It wasn't an anthology thing? It's its own thing.
- 1:01:58Speaker 4: I'm really kind of confused about it.
- 1:02:00Speaker 6: It's strange.
- 1:02:01Speaker 7: It was a magical thing. But it had Tony Todd
- 1:02:03Speaker 7: because he'll do any goddamn thing.
- 1:02:04Speaker 4: Tony Todd, yes.
- 1:02:05Speaker 6: I like Tony Todd. I like him too.
- 1:02:06Speaker 7: I'm just saying he'll do anything.
- 1:02:08Speaker 6: Sometimes you gotta, you know, you gotta cash a check.
- 1:02:11Speaker 6: That's right. Put food on the table.
- 1:02:13Speaker 4: So we're going to play the theme from New Year's Evil.
- 1:02:15Speaker 18: Shining like the light that hits the night at the
- 1:02:27Speaker 18: stroke of midnight.
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: Tell me, will it be sweet New Year's Eve? Or
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: do I feel a New Year's fever?
- 1:03:04Speaker 9: Shall we dance to the music, toast the past?
- 1:03:07Speaker 15: Watch the hurry, heart beat, draw the only hourglass. Love
- 1:03:14Speaker 15: at last, when I see your bright eyes flash. You'll
- 1:03:17Speaker 15: be spinning, spinning.
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: To the ground. Please make me drown. life you appear
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: outside in the street to hear the cheers for you
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: my dear from all the people tell me will it
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: be sweet to you deep or do I fear to
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: you deeper.
- 1:04:12Speaker 15: Showing dance to the music, toast the past. Watch the hearty,
- 1:04:17Speaker 15: hearty journey.
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: Of the hour's past.
- 1:04:22Speaker 9: Love at last when I see your bright eyes flash.
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: You'll be spinning, spinning to the ground.
- 1:04:50Speaker 4: So getting back next from 1988, this is the movie
- 1:04:54Speaker 4: that you mentioned earlier, Black Roses.
- 1:04:56Speaker 7: And an awesome album.
- 1:04:57Speaker 6: Okay.
- 1:04:57Speaker 7: Now, now I'm going to do, I did an awesome
- 1:04:59Speaker 7: VHS cover. I remember it was 3d.
- 1:05:01Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:05:01Speaker 4: It's very cool.
- 1:05:02Speaker 7: It was like guitar and roses. And it was all
- 1:05:04Speaker 7: three dimensional and shit like bumpy.
- 1:05:06Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:05:07Speaker 6: It wasn't like it was 3d.
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: Like you put glasses on, like it physically came out
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: towards you. It was actually molded to be a three
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: dimensional thing. It was strange, and probably they all got
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: smashed in the video stories because it seems like that
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: would not last very long at all in a functioning
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: video story.
- 1:05:23Speaker 4: This is another one of those satanic panic kind of
- 1:05:27Speaker 4: movies where a band of demons is coming to town
- 1:05:30Speaker 4: to play a series of shows multiple nights in the
- 1:05:33Speaker 4: same town to try to steal the souls of the
- 1:05:35Speaker 4: children of the town. Frank Dietz, right here, is in
- 1:05:39Speaker 4: both The Man Sitting at the Table Next to Us,
- 1:05:41Speaker 4: Rock and Roll Nightmare, and Black Roses. He has a
- 1:05:43Speaker 4: bigger role in Black Roses.
- 1:05:45Speaker 6: Does he want to claim those things?
- 1:05:46Speaker 4: I think he claims them proudly. He was good friends
- 1:05:49Speaker 4: with John Fasano, the director who unfortunately passed away last year.
- 1:05:54Speaker 4: This movie's good. It's got Julie Adams from Creature from
- 1:05:57Speaker 4: the Black Lagoon in it.
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: Actually, I do remember when we talked to her, I
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: was looking down the list. I don't know if we
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: talked to her about that one, but I do remember
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: she was talking about still continuing to work and being
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: kind of glad to do something that was current at
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: that time because She'd done so much stuff in, like,
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: 50s and 60s, and, like, yeah.
- 1:06:16Speaker 4: Well, that's obviously the height of Frank's career. I mean,
- 1:06:19Speaker 4: he jumped a shark at that point. Obviously, I mean,
- 1:06:20Speaker 4: all this illustration crap that he's doing now, yeah, whatever.
- 1:06:23Speaker 4: I mean, Black Roses and Rock and Roll Nightmare, I mean,
- 1:06:26Speaker 4: come on. So the song is Me Against the World,
- 1:06:29Speaker 4: and it's by the band Lizzy Borden.
- 1:06:31Speaker 6: Another classic band of the era. It's just me against
- 1:06:42Speaker 6: the world.
- 1:06:43Speaker 10: Leave me alone.
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: I'm on the defense.
- 1:07:14Speaker 9: Why doesn't it ever make sense.
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: I'm sick of all this indecision You're messing with my.
- 1:07:23Speaker 14: Mind This ain't no false concern And this ain't no freak.
- 1:07:30Speaker 20: Disguise Cause I am for real You don't It's me
- 1:07:41Speaker 20: against the world. It's me against the world. It's me
- 1:07:54Speaker 20: against the world.
- 1:08:11Speaker 9: We'll be right back. We'll be right back. We'll be
- 1:08:18Speaker 9: right back. They'll never take me to life.
- 1:08:36Speaker 20: I'm gonna make them all pay Cause I.
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: Am for real You don't know what.
- 1:08:47Speaker 14: I feel My strength is in my will Me against
- 1:09:01Speaker 14: the world.
- 1:09:11Speaker 13: It's me against the world.
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: We'll be right back.
- 1:10:15Speaker 6: You can't face my life.
- 1:10:17Speaker 20: You're just one thing twice as soon my way.
- 1:10:20Speaker 9: But I won't do the martyr.
- 1:10:22Speaker 5: I know you see it wrong.
- 1:10:24Speaker 4: The cover don't belong.
- 1:10:26Speaker 6: I'm holding tight.
- 1:10:27Speaker 4: Don't you push me too far.
- 1:10:29Speaker 17: It's me against the world.
- 1:10:35Speaker 4: It's me against the world.
- 1:10:46Speaker 6: Against the world.
- 1:11:30Speaker 4: All right, so last we have a newer movie from 2001.
- 1:11:34Speaker 4: We've got Wild Zero, Guitar Wolf from Wild Zero. Are
- 1:11:39Speaker 4: you familiar with... That movie.
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: I was watching them. I know there was a whole movement.
- 1:11:47Speaker 2: Once we were done with heavy metal, it's like other
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: cultures picked it up and started doing their own thing
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: with it. So it felt like that's what they were doing.
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: They recreated their own new genre.
- 1:11:59Speaker 4: Man, Guitar Wolf is so awesome. They're so garagey and trashy.
- 1:12:03Speaker 4: They're really not heavy metal. They're more like garage punk
- 1:12:05Speaker 4: bands is what they are. very rockabilly influenced very guitar
- 1:12:10Speaker 4: punk I mean and they're awesome and so energetic and
- 1:12:14Speaker 4: the movie is amazing if you haven't seen this movie
- 1:12:17Speaker 4: seriously check it out it's got a love story it's
- 1:12:22Speaker 4: got aliens invading it's got zombies it's got it all
- 1:12:27Speaker 4: so that is quite a collection quite a Frankenstein soundtrack
- 1:12:30Speaker 4: of nothing but metal that we put together this week
- 1:12:33Speaker 4: absolutely fun stuff if you guys haven't seen any of
- 1:12:36Speaker 4: those movies I can recommend most of them. Most of
- 1:12:38Speaker 4: them I think you'd enjoy.
- 1:12:39Speaker 6: For sheer novelty purposes, I would say across the board.
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: And then there's probably some really good ones mixed in there.
- 1:12:45Speaker 6: Or at least epic in their own special way.
- 1:12:47Speaker 4: Yeah, Trick or Treat is the most production value and
- 1:12:50Speaker 4: probably the most watchable if you've never seen any of those.
- 1:12:55Speaker 5: Definitely.
- 1:12:55Speaker 4: Definitely Rock and Roll Nightmare is the most what the
- 1:12:57Speaker 4: fuck kind of crazy. Although Hard Rock Zombies is pretty
- 1:13:02Speaker 4: much up there too. Stunt Rock is, yeah, it's just
- 1:13:05Speaker 4: stunts and rock and roll, so.
- 1:13:07Speaker 6: Oh, crazy.
- 1:13:07Speaker 4: It's all you need, man.
- 1:13:09Speaker 6: Well, you have put together a great list. So tell
- 1:13:11Speaker 6: people where to find you.
- 1:13:13Speaker 4: You guys can find me on the web at drgangreen.com.
- 1:13:15Speaker 4: You can find me on Facebook, Dr. Gangreen. Currently, I'm
- 1:13:19Speaker 4: doing a YouTube series where I'm going through all the
- 1:13:21Speaker 4: films of Vincent Price, which is as far from rock
- 1:13:23Speaker 4: and roll horror as you can get. And I'm doing
- 1:13:26Speaker 4: a video.
- 1:13:27Speaker 6: He would have liked some of these probably.
- 1:13:28Speaker 4: I think so.
- 1:13:29Speaker 6: He would have shown up in them.
- 1:13:30Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 1:13:31Speaker 4: Well, I mean, he worked with, he got seven degrees up, right?
- 1:13:33Speaker 4: So he worked with Vincent Price.
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 1:13:37Speaker 4: Who was in Monster Dog, so there you go. There's
- 1:13:40Speaker 4: your tie-in. But yeah, so I'm doing a series where
- 1:13:44Speaker 4: I'm doing one video for every movie of Vincent Price's catalog.
- 1:13:47Speaker 4: And I'm up to 1956. I just did an episode
- 1:13:51Speaker 4: on the Ten Commandments. And next we have The Story
- 1:13:54Speaker 4: of Mankind. And then I start getting into what is
- 1:13:56Speaker 4: really the golden era of Vincent Price, which starts with
- 1:14:00Speaker 4: The Fly, Return of the Fly, the William Castle films,
- 1:14:03Speaker 4: and the Roger Corman films. All the way up through.
- 1:14:06Speaker 7: But more importantly, when do you get the Dr. Goldfoot
- 1:14:08Speaker 7: and the Bikini Machine?
- 1:14:09Speaker 4: Yeah, that'll come in the 60s. Fun stuff.
- 1:14:12Speaker 7: Or the Girl Bombs. Either one.
- 1:14:13Speaker 6: Yeah, they're both pretty entertaining.
- 1:14:15Speaker 4: We almost showed that this year for our movie upstairs tonight.
- 1:14:19Speaker 4: That was my choice for the weekend, but since we
- 1:14:22Speaker 4: have both Victoria Price and Sarah Karloff here, we're going
- 1:14:25Speaker 4: to be hosting... Instead, I'm hosting... A comedy of terrors upstairs.
- 1:14:29Speaker 6: Yeah, there's no tie-in without that.
- 1:14:30Speaker 4: Yeah, since both the dads are in it. And they're
- 1:14:32Speaker 4: both going to be there, so it should be fun.
- 1:14:34Speaker 6: That's awesome.
- 1:14:34Speaker 4: So you guys can find me on YouTube also.
- 1:14:37Speaker 6: All right.
- 1:14:37Speaker 2: I'd say definitely go check you out and see what
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: you've got going on on your channel. And thank you
- 1:14:42Speaker 2: for piecing together this soundtrack this week.
- 1:14:44Speaker 7: Well, cool.
- 1:14:45Speaker 4: Thanks for having me on. This will be fun. I
- 1:14:46Speaker 4: can't wait to hear it all in one place. All
- 1:14:49Speaker 4: the music together should be.
- 1:14:50Speaker 6: Again, that's the way I like these. It's building our own...
- 1:14:54Speaker 6: you know, Frankenstein soundtrack pieced together from all these other ones. Awesome.
- 1:14:59Speaker 4: Anyway, so the song, we're going to play Jet Generation
- 1:15:01Speaker 4: from Guitar World.
- 1:15:02Speaker 6: All right. Well, thanks for being here. Otherwise, that about
- 1:15:05Speaker 6: does it. With that, I will remind you, get a
- 1:15:07Speaker 6: life and we'll provide you a soundtrack.
- 1:15:41Speaker 9: Thank you for watching!
- 1:16:10Speaker 10: Go, go, go! Go, go, go!
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: Jet Generations Thank you.
- 1:18:16Speaker 6: For like Tippi Hedren or what's her name? Not Tippi Hedren.
