- 0:03This is Living Waters of Grace, the teaching ministry of Clark
- 0:08Wofford, senior pastor of Calvary Chapel of Westmoreland,
- 0:12County of Greensburg, PA. Now here's Pastor Clark as he
- 0:16continues teaching through God's Word.
- 0:37The Bible says that if anyone draws back, his soul doesn't
- 0:40have pleasure in him. But thank God, if we're really a
- 0:44child of God, we can't turn back forever, can we?
- 0:48God speaks to us, he humbles us, he breaks us, and he draws us
- 0:52back to himself, doesn't he? And all of us have a testimony
- 0:56of that, I'm sure. And each time that we come back,
- 0:58we come back with the strength and the vigor and a decisiveness
- 1:03that I'm no longer interested in, in heading back.
- 1:06Being a true child of God means that Jesus will never leave us.
- 1:11No matter how far we've backslidden, Jesus will break us
- 1:15down and draw us back to Him. There aren't enough excuses we
- 1:18can make that will keep Him away.
- 1:21Each time we come back, we must come back with a determination
- 1:24to no longer be interested in the excuses.
- 1:28Today, Pastor Clark teaches us that as believers, we have the
- 1:32Holy Spirit dwelling inside us, and he convicts us where we need
- 1:36correction, always pulling us back to him.
- 1:40Now. Here's Pastor Clark in
- 1:41Revelation chapter 20 with today's edition of Living Waters
- 1:45of Grace. Some of us are here and we
- 1:49unfortunately, if Christ tarries or some of us are taken out at
- 1:55what is called the rapture, the catching away.
- 1:58And those who are left behind that never committed themselves
- 2:03truly and fully to Jesus Christ, because of them lingering and
- 2:07missing that return of Christ and because of their love for
- 2:11the present world system, they will be deceived into taking the
- 2:15mark of the beast, the mark of the Antichrist.
- 2:19And some of you here today will perhaps end up taking that.
- 2:25That is not my prayer. It's not the Lord's Prayer.
- 2:28He's not willing that any should perish, but all that come, come
- 2:31to repentance. But things are going to get so
- 2:33bad during that tribulation that if you're left here with,
- 2:37without faith in Christ, you will be tempted and most likely
- 2:42moved to say, well, this doesn't make sense not to take this
- 2:45because if I don't get this identification code, I don't
- 2:47have any ability to access my bank accounts.
- 2:50I can't work at my job anymore. I can't buy food for my family.
- 2:54I'm going to get that mark. And the mark is the ultimate
- 2:57betrayal of of your soul to the devil.
- 3:00And once you take that mark of the beast, you'll never be able
- 3:03to withdraw from that commitment.
- 3:06Hebrews tells us about the subject of what we call the
- 3:09perseverance of the Saints. And if you're really gods today,
- 3:12if you really belong to him, if you've really been saved and
- 3:15your life has been radically transformed, you don't have to
- 3:18worry about being left behind and you don't have to worry
- 3:21about any kind of mark on your body that will represent your
- 3:25allegiance to Antichrist. It says therefore in verse 35 of
- 3:29Hebrews chapter 10. Therefore do not castaway your
- 3:32confidence, which has great reward, for you have need of
- 3:36endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you
- 3:39may receive the promise for yet a little while, and he who is
- 3:42coming will come and will not tarry.
- 3:45Now the just shall live by faith, but if anyone draws back,
- 3:49my soul shall have no pleasure in Him.
- 3:52But we are not of those who draw back to perdition or hell, but
- 3:56are those who believe to the saving of the soul.
- 3:59So we use this term sometimes backsliding.
- 4:02And we've all been there where we've been walking with the Lord
- 4:05and we've been following him. And then some events, some
- 4:07crisis, some temptation, some trial, some failing our life
- 4:11causes us to move away from the Lord.
- 4:14In other words, we we're like lot, we're lingering in an area
- 4:17that we shouldn't be hanging out in.
- 4:20Or perhaps some of us are, are like lot's wife that we're
- 4:24falling the Lord and and the devil's whispering in our ear.
- 4:26Well, you're missing out on this and you don't do this anymore
- 4:29and wasn't this good and, and all of a sudden you look back
- 4:32and Jesus is saying, if you're truly called to follow me in the
- 4:36Kingdom, you put your hand to the plow and you just keep going
- 4:39forward. You keep going forward.
- 4:41You're not going to look back anymore.
- 4:43And I've looked back different times in my life and I suffer
- 4:46the consequences of looking back when I was in Bible college as a
- 4:50young and I I'm dealing with the emotions of a young man and the
- 4:54instability and the weaknesses of my own will and the
- 4:57immaturity of my own walk with the Lord.
- 5:00And I'm in Bible college and I'm hearing about unreached people
- 5:02group people have never once heard the gospel.
- 5:05And I had this compulsion in my heart that want to be involved
- 5:08in going to reach people I've never heard.
- 5:10But you know, when I go out on weekends to visit families from
- 5:13the church we're attending nice houses, nice cars, nice careers.
- 5:16I'm thinking, Lord, why can't I be like one of those people?
- 5:19They love you, but they have, they sort of have the best of
- 5:21both worlds. They have you and they have the
- 5:23world at the same time, right. But there was this emptiness in
- 5:26them as I would meet with them because they sort of wanted what
- 5:30I wanted in the sense of being a missionary, but I sort of wanted
- 5:33what, what they had. You know what I mean?
- 5:35It was like a paradox. And I had this, this tension in
- 5:38between. And so I had my hand at a plow,
- 5:41but I was looking backwards and, and, and I, I caused myself to
- 5:45be put on a shelf for a period of time because, you know, the
- 5:48Lord can't use us if we're not totally committed, if we're,
- 5:52we're looking back and we still want what the world has to offer
- 5:55it. And the Lord says, well, I'll
- 5:56catch up with you later and you'll see the consequences of
- 5:59what that decision will be upon you.
- 6:02And so the Lord gave me my desires and I was able to, you
- 6:05know, achieve a certain amount of success in the world, but I
- 6:09paid a terrible sacrifice for that.
- 6:13I almost lost my marriage 39 years now married by the grace
- 6:20and only by the grace of God. I was in Bible college and I
- 6:25said, Clark, what are you doing, man?
- 6:27You know, I said, well, the Bible says if you don't have the
- 6:29material to finish the tower, it's better that you don't
- 6:31start. So I, I made-up all kind of
- 6:33excuses why I, I didn't think it was really worth being totally
- 6:39sold out to Jesus Christ. And as I said, I, I suffered the
- 6:44consequences. And the Bible says that if
- 6:47anyone draws back, his soul doesn't have pleasure in him.
- 6:51But thank God, if we're really a child of God, we can't turn back
- 6:56forever, can we? God speaks to us, he humbles us,
- 7:00he breaks us and he draws us back to himself, doesn't he?
- 7:04And all of us have a testimony of that, I'm sure.
- 7:08And each time that we come back, we come back with a strength and
- 7:12a vigor and a decisiveness that I'm no longer interested in and
- 7:17heading back. And I have a compassion and an
- 7:19understanding for people that have setbacks in their Christian
- 7:22lives. I don't judge because I've been
- 7:24there, but I want to be an example and also tell my story
- 7:28so that I might be able to prevent a young man like Cameron
- 7:32from going back into the world. And when we see people, our
- 7:36brothers and sisters, who are going back into the world, we
- 7:39need to pray for them. We need to admonish them and
- 7:42exhort them and warn them of the consequences of falling, because
- 7:48falling is a very, very horrible thing to do.
- 7:52Falling away from the Lord. He is no fool to lose what he
- 7:57cannot keep, to gain what he cannot lose.
- 8:01So at 45 years of age, we had some crises in our lives as a
- 8:10family, long given up any kind of hopes of ever being in the
- 8:14ministry. That was the last thing on my
- 8:16mind in my life. And my kids were going to a
- 8:20church that had this this youth thing they wanted to go to.
- 8:23So Cindy and I weren't going to any church at the time.
- 8:27So I figured, well, I'll go down there.
- 8:28And it wasn't my style church. It was just really hyper
- 8:31emotional and that kind of stuff.
- 8:33But there was an old time missionary that spoke and he was
- 8:36in his late 70s and he was talking about what life's really
- 8:40about and what's most important in life.
- 8:43And as you look at your life, you know, where is it today?
- 8:47And the Lord used this old missionary guy to really get to
- 8:50me. It was a revival called People
- 8:52Coming Back to God. And it started out, I think the
- 8:54first night there was like 2829 people.
- 8:57And then each night it went down and until the end, the last
- 9:00night, there was only a few of us there.
- 9:02And it was like God had this revival.
- 9:04That's for me. And so I went forward and I
- 9:06said, Lord, you know, I've just sort of wasted my years from the
- 9:10day I got saved and I was 20 up until my mid 40s now, I was in
- 9:15the churches for a long time. I was a Deacon and I teach a
- 9:19young married class. I was going through the motions.
- 9:21I was doing what was expected that I was, I was dying inside
- 9:25because I was, I was living for the world and I wasn't living
- 9:28for Christ. And people might have thought I
- 9:31was because I looked on the outside like I was, but I knew
- 9:34down deep inside that I was messed up.
- 9:37So I went on my face before the altar there and I just said,
- 9:41Lord, here's my life. I want to give it back to you.
- 9:46I understand that I've wasted a lot of years.
- 9:49And if by chance you would give me an opportunity to have things
- 9:54made right with you today, I'll do whatever it is that you want
- 9:58me to do in the days ahead. Oh, God began to stir my heart
- 10:03again and do something in me. And I'd had no interest in being
- 10:06a pastor or anything or making any kind of great promises of
- 10:10God. It was like a baby step.
- 10:11I had no idea other than I'm just surrendering my will to the
- 10:14Lord. My daughter's telling all her
- 10:17friends, I have a new dad. I wasn't like his horrible
- 10:20father. I mean, I cared, you know.
- 10:22But all of a sudden I'm, I'm compelled again to be the father
- 10:26of my home that I need to be and the husband I need to be to lead
- 10:29my family in the ways of God. I'd sort of checked out on that.
- 10:33You know, I've depended on the church to do it for me, right?
- 10:35The youth group to do it for me. Some of you guys know what I'm
- 10:38talking about. And so one thing led to the next
- 10:41The Lord put on our heart about this church plant to be a
- 10:45ministry of restoration and reconciliation for ruined lives,
- 10:49which Cindy and I had. That God can restore the years
- 10:55that the locust has eaten, that there's not one of us here that
- 11:01has fallen so far that we're away from the outstretched arms
- 11:05of God calling us back to Himself and to draw us to
- 11:09Himself. And I know the people that God
- 11:12calls it his church are people that are broken in, contrite and
- 11:18desiring His will. Now, as we see in Revelation
- 11:24chapter 4, that there will be these people that will not take
- 11:29the mark of the beast, and because of that, they'll be
- 11:31martyred. Now for us who are raptured out
- 11:34of here, we're going to miss the real hell, the tribulation.
- 11:36We're going to be taken out. God's wrath will not come upon
- 11:39His church, but there will be people during that tribulation
- 11:42that will be saved, that will be anointed by God to be witnesses,
- 11:46and they will refuse to take the mark of the beast.
- 11:48And because of that, they will be beheaded.
- 11:50They will be beheaded and martyred.
- 11:54Verse 5 it says, But the rest of the dead did not live again
- 11:57until the thousand years were finished.
- 11:59This is the first resurrection. Blessed is he who has part in
- 12:02the first resurrection over such the second death has no power,
- 12:06but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign
- 12:10with him 1000 years. Now we think of the Old
- 12:13Testament Saints. Whenever Jesus was crucified, it
- 12:16says in Ephesians, he went into the lower parts of the earth to
- 12:19lead captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
- 12:22So Hades is split into two sections.
- 12:24You have hell and you have paradise.
- 12:26The Old Testament Saints were in paradise waiting for the
- 12:29finished work of Christ at the cross and his resurrection.
- 12:32As Christ rose from a dead, He went in there and released as
- 12:35captive in the bosom of Abraham, and brought them into the
- 12:39Kingdom with him. That they take part in the first
- 12:42resurrection, it tells us in First Corinthians, I believe.
- 12:45Let me just double check here. Yeah, First Corinthians chapter
- 12:4815, verse 20. It says now Christ has risen
- 12:51from the dead, and he became the first fruits of those who have
- 12:53fallen asleep. For since by man came death, by
- 12:57man also came the resurrection of the dead.
- 12:59For as an Adam all die, Even so in Christ all shall be made
- 13:02alive, but each one in his own order.
- 13:04Christ is the first fruits, afterward those who are Christ
- 13:08at his coming. Then comes the end, when He
- 13:10delivers the Kingdom of God to the Father, when He puts an end
- 13:13to all role and all authority and power, for He must reign
- 13:16till he has put all enemies under his feet.
- 13:19The last enemy will be destroyed, which is death.
- 13:22So when Christ rose from the dead, you remember in the
- 13:24gospels where it talked about the people that came out of the
- 13:27graves mystery, they were taking part as Christ is the first
- 13:32fruit of the first resurrection. He's the 1st.
- 13:35And then the Old Testament Saints of the bosom of Abraham,
- 13:39those who were resurrected out of the graves during the time of
- 13:43his resurrection in the Gospels. And then we have those of us who
- 13:47will be raptured and taken into the Kingdom of heaven.
- 13:49We're taking part as the first fruits of the first
- 13:52resurrection. And then we have those, those
- 13:55Saints in the tribulation period who were beheaded that Christ
- 13:58will bring forth into life again, and they'll rule and
- 14:01reign with him in that millennial Kingdom.
- 14:05The first fruits taking part in the first resurrection with our
- 14:09new bodies, all those who are redeemed will be raised up.
- 14:15The second resurrection doesn't occur until the end of the
- 14:17millennial Kingdom after the 1000 years.
- 14:20And if you're here today and you're not saved, you won't take
- 14:23part in the first resurrection. Unfortunately, you'll have to
- 14:26deal with the second resurrection.
- 14:28And the second resurrection is not a resurrection you want to
- 14:31take part in because all those who are raised out of the graves
- 14:34are being raised for the final judgment where the Bible says
- 14:38the book will be open and the Lamb's book of life.
- 14:42And whosoever's name is not found written in the Lamb's Book
- 14:44of life will be cast into the lake of fire.
- 14:47It's the resurrection of judgment.
- 14:49And So what will this millennial Kingdom be like as we begin to
- 14:53conclude here in this chapter today, chapter 20?
- 14:56Well, there'll be peace. There'll be no more war.
- 15:00Isaiah Chapter 11 If we flip over there for a minute, there's
- 15:04a few verses here. Isaiah Chapter 11 verse 6
- 15:07through 9. It says the wolf shall dwell
- 15:09with the lamb. The leopard shall lie down with
- 15:11the young cat, goat, the calf and the young lion and the fat
- 15:14lean together, and the little child shall lead them.
- 15:17The cow and the bear shall graze.
- 15:19The young one shall lie down together.
- 15:21The lion shall eat straw like the ox.
- 15:23A nursing child shall play by the cobras hole.
- 15:26The wean shall shall put his hand in the viper's den.
- 15:29They shall not hurt nor destroy at all.
- 15:32My holy. A mountain for the earth shall
- 15:34be full. The knowledge of the Lord as the
- 15:36waters cover the sea. Imagine that, having a baby
- 15:40today and letting your baby play with a snake.
- 15:43No one in their right mind would do that, right?
- 15:45Well, during the millennial Kingdom, the snakes will be
- 15:47friends. They won't hurt anybody.
- 15:49There won't be any ravenous lion.
- 15:51It's going to come and attack anybody.
- 15:53I mean, it's just perfect peace. There'll be incredible happiness
- 15:57and Isaiah 12 three. Therefore with joy you will draw
- 16:00water from the wells of salvation.
- 16:04You'll have long life and health.
- 16:05Isaiah chapter 33 verse 24. This is a precursor to the
- 16:12Kingdom that'll reign forever and ever, and the inhabitant
- 16:17will not say I am sick. The people who dwell in it will
- 16:21be forgiven their iniquity. There will be a time of
- 16:25incredible prosperity on the earth.
- 16:27Not like the prosperity teachers are teaching today that self
- 16:30fulfilling, self willed prosperity.
- 16:32This prosperity will come from the throne of God.
- 16:35It says in Isaiah 35 verse one. The wilderness and the wasteland
- 16:38shall be glad for them and the desert shall rejoice and blossom
- 16:42as a rose. It shall blossom abundantly and
- 16:44rejoice even with joy in singing.
- 16:47The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it.
- 16:49The excellence of Carmel and Sharon.
- 16:51They shall see the glory, the Lord, the Excellency of our God,
- 16:55prosperity. And then there will be joy in
- 16:58our employment. And unlike today, many of us are
- 17:00working, the Bible says, with a sweat of our brow.
- 17:03And there's a lot of aggravation and tension in the job markets
- 17:07today. But in the days of the
- 17:09millennial Kingdom, and it says they shall build houses and
- 17:12inhabit them. They shall plant vineyards and
- 17:14eat their fruit. They shall not build and another
- 17:17inhabit. They shall not plant and another
- 17:19eat. For as a days of a tree, so
- 17:21shall be the days of my people, and my elects shall long enjoy
- 17:25the work of their hands. How glorious that will be.
- 17:28And our inheritance will be an inheritance for those who are
- 17:33truly born again. If you flip over to Romans
- 17:36chapter 828, we know the Bible says all things work together
- 17:39for good to those who love God, and are called according to His
- 17:42purpose. For whom He did foreknow, He
- 17:46also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He
- 17:49might be the first born among many brethren.
- 17:52Moreover, whom He predestined, these He called, and those He
- 17:55called, those He justified, Whom He justified He also glorified.
- 18:00What then shall we say to these things?
- 18:02If God is for us, who can be against us?
- 18:05He who did not spare His own Son, referring to Jesus, but
- 18:08delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also
- 18:12freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against
- 18:16God's elect? It is God who justifies, who is
- 18:19he who condemns? It is Christ who died and
- 18:22furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of
- 18:25God, who also makes intercession for us.
- 18:29It tells us over in first Peter, if you flip over there first
- 18:32Peter chapter 2, as this ends in Revelation chapter 20, verse 5,
- 18:39referring to the priesthood. You know, the Catholic Church
- 18:43teaches about a priesthood and the Orthodox Church, some of
- 18:47these other churches teach about the priesthood.
- 18:50So the priests are here and all of us are down here, right?
- 18:53And we have to go to the priest to get absolution for our sins
- 18:57or go to the priest to be our mediator between God and man.
- 19:00That's not biblical. The Bible tells us there's one
- 19:03mediator between God and man. Who's that?
- 19:06The man Christ Jesus. I'm sorry, but man can't help
- 19:09you. You don't have faith and
- 19:12dependence on the legs of a man. You have faith in the Lord.
- 19:15Godly men will point you to Jesus Christ as your intercess.
- 19:19We can pray for one another and God answers the prayers of His
- 19:23righteous faithful servants, but Christ is the one who mediates.
- 19:28I was here with Cameron and Cameron was being convicted by
- 19:32the Lord to come to Christ. I sat on my knees here before
- 19:36the Lord. Lord, you alone are the mediator
- 19:39between the Father and between Cameron.
- 19:46You're the one who has to save him.
- 19:48You're the one who has to reach into his life and show him his
- 19:51lostness, his sin. I can tell him, but unless the
- 19:55Spirit shows him, he won't know why he needs to be saved.
- 19:59And if you're here today, only God can show you you're lost.
- 20:05All of us have to come to a point in our life to know that
- 20:07we're lost and we need a Savior. And once you know you're lost,
- 20:13then you know you need to be found.
- 20:16The one who can save you is Jesus Christ, the righteous one.
- 20:21It tells us in first Peter 9 that you're a chosen generation.
- 20:25This is referring to us here today who are part of God's
- 20:28family, the Christian, the born again, a royal priesthood, a
- 20:32holy nation, His own special people that you may proclaim the
- 20:37praises of Him who's called you out of darkness into his
- 20:41marvelous light, who once were not a people.
- 20:44Meaning one time we weren't part of this family, we weren't part
- 20:48of his Kingdom, but are now the people of God who had not
- 20:52obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
- 20:59As we study the Book of Revelation, we study it for two
- 21:03reasons, to learn what it's what's going to happen in the
- 21:06last days or we're not living in fear and we have confidence in
- 21:11God's promises. But we also teach this book
- 21:14because we know there are people here who are lost in any given
- 21:18church and there are people here today that need to come to
- 21:23Christ to see him as their only hope of forgiveness and
- 21:30salvation. It tells us in First Timothy 2,
- 21:34as it says, there is only one mediator between God and man,
- 21:39the man Christ Jesus. He desires all men, all people
- 21:43to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
- 21:47There's not one of you here today that God does not love and
- 21:50doesn't want you to get saved. When I was beside Cameron here,
- 21:55I said, Cameron, you have to come to the Lord yourself.
- 21:58I can't do it for you. So I just encourage you to pray
- 22:02to him from your own heart, what best you know to say.
- 22:07And when I heard him opening his heart to God and speaking to
- 22:12God, I knew that God was taking him from death to life, from
- 22:19darkness into the beautiful glory of his Kingdom.
- 22:24And he just shared very simply, Lord, I know I'm a Sinner.
- 22:30You know, Lord, I've been around the block a few times, as we all
- 22:33have, and as only a Sinner could cry to a merciful God, he did,
- 22:41and God radically saved him and changed his life for all
- 22:45eternity. If you're here today and you
- 22:49have not experienced the saving grace and love and work of the
- 22:54gospel of Jesus Christ, I encourage you to come forward
- 22:56today. If you're here with someone you
- 22:58know wants to come, come with them, take their hand and come
- 23:02with them and pray because God wants to save you.
- 23:06You don't want to be left here in this time of impending
- 23:09tribulation that will soon come upon the world where you'll be
- 23:13so propelled and so compelled to take that mark of the beast that
- 23:17you'll be lost for all eternity. If you're here today and you
- 23:20know that you're lingering and the world, and the world has
- 23:24part of you and the Lord has part of you and you're wrestling
- 23:27and you're tired of walking in two places.
- 23:29You want to walk and the ways of God.
- 23:32You've had it with the world. You don't want it to influence
- 23:35you anymore. You don't want it to direct you.
- 23:37You don't want it to oppress you or control you.
- 23:41You want to be set free from the influences of that world.
- 23:44I encourage you to make a prayerful commitment that you
- 23:48surrender your life anew and afresh to God so that He can you
- 23:52for the purpose of why He created you.

- 24:01We're going through the challenging and also intriguing
- 24:04Book of Revelation. Whether you're a fan of reading
- 24:07ahead in books of fiction, there's such a benefit to
- 24:09reading ahead in the Bible to read about how it all ends.
- 24:13But in an interesting turn of events, the Book of Revelation
- 24:17is not really the end, but rather the beginning.
- 24:22It's the end of life as we know it here on earth, but there's so
- 24:26much to look forward to. But what comes after all?
- 24:29The judgement of the earth and those who reject God?
- 24:32There's a lot to work through, and it can be heartbreaking to
- 24:36read through the intense judgements and wrath that will
- 24:40come on those who hate God with all their might.
- 24:43The thing is, God has given chance upon chance to these
- 24:47people and they don't want it. So the outcome is that there are
- 24:51judgments and consequences for those who've rejected the good
- 24:55news and the gift of salvation that's offered through Jesus's
- 24:59death and resurrection. Are you one who has heard about
- 25:03these things but doesn't really want it because you want to live
- 25:07life on your terms? Trust me, living for Jesus is so
- 25:13much better. That doesn't mean it will be
- 25:15easy. As you listen and read through
- 25:18Revelation with us, you'll come to a stark realization that you
- 25:22don't want to be on Earth when the apocalypse happens.
- 25:26So check out Calvary Chapel online.com to learn how to come
- 25:30to a saving grace through faith that will allow you to be with
- 25:35Jesus for eternity. We'd also love to meet you in
