- 0:39SPEAKER_00: And now it's time for the Elise Richmond Show right here on WAU.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: And now, without further ado, here's Elise.
- 0:50SPEAKER_02: Good morning, everybody, and welcome to the Elise Richmond Show.
- 0:53SPEAKER_02: You're listening to WNAU 1470 on your radio dial, a classic oldies radio station.
- 1:00SPEAKER_02: But right now it's becoming quite political.
- 1:03SPEAKER_02: And the closer we get to the elections, the more political we're going to be.
- 1:07SPEAKER_02: We are conservatively speaking here on the Elise Richmond Show, and we are saying exactly what you are thinking.
- 1:14SPEAKER_02: Thank you so much for listening.
- 1:17SPEAKER_02: I really, really appreciate it.
- 1:18SPEAKER_02: And hopefully, you're going to learn a whole bunch of things about one of our sponsors today.
- 1:23SPEAKER_02: So let's first recognize our sponsors.
- 1:25SPEAKER_02: That would be Colonel Gannon Burton's Mississippi for America First, and of course, my Faye, Faye, Faye people in the whole wide world, the Pontiau County Republican women.
- 1:36SPEAKER_02: And speaking of the Pontiauk County Republican women, our guest today is none other than our president, Wanda Rutherford.
- 1:43SPEAKER_02: And Wanda Rutledge.
- 1:46SPEAKER_02: Oh, I know what what am I saying here?
- 1:48SPEAKER_02: You guys, I'm so crazy.
- 1:50SPEAKER_02: Uh, I should be reading my notes instead of going right off the top of my head.
- 1:54SPEAKER_02: It's Wanda Rutledge.
- 1:56SPEAKER_02: Wanda Rutherford lives in Palm Springs.
- 1:58SPEAKER_02: And sometimes these people that I've known forever, their names just pop right out.
- 2:03SPEAKER_02: Wanda Rutledge, what do you think about that?
- 2:05SPEAKER_02: Crazy, crazy.
- 2:06SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 2:07SPEAKER_02: Trying to get too fast to get through all this stuff.
- 2:10SPEAKER_02: Anyway, Wanda's going to be coming uh onto the show right after the first break.
- 2:16SPEAKER_02: And I also want to know if you've listening, uh regular listener to WNAU and the Elise Ritchin Show, have you noticed there is a new sponsor?
- 2:25SPEAKER_02: And that new sponsor is First Choice Bank.
- 2:29SPEAKER_02: First Choice Bank was actually founded, as the ad says, in Pontialk in the 1900s, but they are building a new branch, a state-of-the-art branch, in New Albany, right here in your home.
- 2:44SPEAKER_02: And we want you to all listen carefully because it's a coming soon kind of thing.
- 2:50SPEAKER_02: Not sure exactly when they're going to have their grand opening, but if you keep listening, you will find out.
- 2:55SPEAKER_02: So make sure you're sort of thinking about what you might want to do when First Choice Bank opens their doors.
- 3:05SPEAKER_02: Okay, first, as you all know, we're talking football.
- 3:09SPEAKER_02: And ooh, Bob, football.
- 3:12SPEAKER_02: Now, last week when I was here, I was crazier in six loons, happier than oh, just happy, happy about how Omus Rebels handled LSU.
- 3:23SPEAKER_02: Boy, they could not handle Florida, and that was sad to see.
- 3:27SPEAKER_02: It was a nasty game, it was really difficult.
- 3:30SPEAKER_02: Nasty loss.
- 3:31SPEAKER_02: Even though Trinidad Chamblis, the Omis quarterback, he tried and tried to keep pulling them out of the hole and he was successful some of the time.
- 3:39SPEAKER_02: Absolutely, he was.
- 3:40SPEAKER_02: But then, how long can one man carry an entire team?
- 3:45SPEAKER_02: Also, his main receiver, uh, Kawan Lacey was out with an injury, and so we want to say congratulations to Trinidad for doing your very best.
- 3:56SPEAKER_02: It just uh you just can't keep going and carry the whole team on your back.
- 4:01SPEAKER_02: That said, that's all I'm gonna say about it because it was sad, humiliating, very upsetting, and all the rebel nation that watched an incredibly exciting game and the win over LSU the week before.
- 4:13SPEAKER_02: I really don't think Florida is so majorly wonderful as everybody's carrying on, but um we'll all just have to watch those skaters and see how good they are and see how they're continuing to play.
- 4:26SPEAKER_02: I think Ole Miss, it was just really a sad thing.
- 4:33SPEAKER_02: So let's go to the winners.
- 4:36SPEAKER_02: That's all I'm gonna say about Ole Miss.
- 4:38SPEAKER_02: Let's go to the winners.
- 4:40SPEAKER_02: That would be Mississippi, those Bulldogs who beat Mizzou and they are now four and oh.
- 4:45SPEAKER_02: And I had a friend tell me yesterday when I was downtown shopping in Pontiac that her husband had looked up the last time, because she's a Bulldog fan, the last time the Bulldogs were 4-0, and I think, if I'm not mistaken, she said it was back in the 40s.
- 4:59SPEAKER_02: Oh my lands, that's what I think.
- 5:00SPEAKER_02: So congratulations to the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
- 5:03SPEAKER_02: Oh my god, did I just say that?
- 5:05SPEAKER_02: I'm proud of you, really, really.
- 5:07SPEAKER_02: I know my childhood friend at the University of Missouri, she's a rabid Mizzo alumni up there in Missouri.
- 5:14SPEAKER_02: I know that she's upset.
- 5:16SPEAKER_02: She's probably not as sad as me, however, about how Mizoo played their game.
- 5:23SPEAKER_02: Now, Bob Richmond has got a theory about college football.
- 5:27SPEAKER_02: And uh so we're gonna bring him on right now, and um he's gonna tell you for a few minutes about his theory.
- 5:34SPEAKER_02: Good morning, Bob Richmond.
- 5:35SPEAKER_02: What say you?
- 5:36SPEAKER_03: Well, good morning, Elise.
- 5:38SPEAKER_03: Um, it's really it's about football, but not specifically about football.
- 5:42SPEAKER_03: It's about college sports in general.
- 5:45SPEAKER_02: Okay, that's good.
- 5:46SPEAKER_03: There's a problem in college sports, as everybody knows now, but there's been a other another problem that's been growing for years, and that's the non-citizen international students who are taking all the athletic scholarships away from American kids.
- 6:04SPEAKER_03: In Division I men's sports in 2022, 64% of the scholarships in tennis were given to non-American citizens.
- 6:18SPEAKER_03: Uh-oh.
- 6:19SPEAKER_03: Ice hockey, 38, soccer, 34, and in golf 26.
- 6:25SPEAKER_03: That's a and that was in 22.
- 6:26SPEAKER_03: Now you've got to know it's gotta be higher than that.
- 6:28SPEAKER_03: Why are so many colleges going after international players?
- 6:32SPEAKER_03: I thought this is America, we should support our American homegrown students.
- 6:39SPEAKER_02: Our kids, our own kids.
- 6:40SPEAKER_03: As a kid, I played sports, and you always had the dream of maybe getting good enough to go to college and get your college paid for by uh getting a scholarship.
- 6:51SPEAKER_03: And your parents wanted you to do that for sure.
- 6:53SPEAKER_03: Absolutely.
- 6:54SPEAKER_03: And then maybe you can go on to the pros and get better because you had the the uh time in college to get better at your sport.
- 7:02SPEAKER_03: Well, that opportunity is being taken away by illegals.
- 7:06SPEAKER_03: Well, that's another way to call someone who's not an American.
- 7:09SPEAKER_03: They're hill they're here legally, but they're not an American.
- 7:14SPEAKER_02: They're not American citizens, they're not our homegrown kids.
- 7:17SPEAKER_03: Why should our why should our scholarships go towards international students?
- 7:21SPEAKER_03: Well, here's the reason.
- 7:23SPEAKER_03: A lot of these coaches of these sports, and these are a lot of Olympic sports, they want to get the best players.
- 7:31SPEAKER_03: Now, think about it.
- 7:32SPEAKER_03: Wouldn't you rather have a male athlete or female athlete that has four or five years more expense uh experience in their sport, say they're 23 instead of 18 coming out of uh high school and they've played their sports for that long in a competitive atmosphere overseas in their own country, maybe qualifying for the Olympics.
- 7:58SPEAKER_03: Because if you get those players and give them scholarships over here, you have a better team, and you'll want to win, and these coaches want to win.
- 8:06SPEAKER_03: And the reason they want to win is because they want to keep their job.
- 8:10SPEAKER_03: You know, a lot of coaches that lose, they lose their job.
- 8:13SPEAKER_03: Oh, we need another coach.
- 8:15SPEAKER_03: So they're importing all these athletes from outside the United States and giving them scholarships just so they can win, and they're taking away the dreams of American kids who've been playing sports their whole life, who might not be as good as the international player who has five years more experience because they're five years older, four years older, who's had Olympic competitions in them, and it's just not fair.
- 8:44SPEAKER_03: Um it's something that we really need to look at.
- 8:47SPEAKER_03: Because right in 2022, now you gotta understand this is four years ago, 2022, there were 25,000 international athletes receiving college scholarships in the United States.
- 9:02SPEAKER_02: I think that's a really incredible number.
- 9:04SPEAKER_02: I did not realize that was that large.
- 9:06SPEAKER_02: I just remember they used to bring all the kickers in from Australia and New Zealand, and I thought, well, now that's kind of weird.
- 9:13SPEAKER_02: I guess it's soccer.
- 9:15SPEAKER_02: Those kickers are all soccer players.
- 9:17SPEAKER_02: Well, these that's that's all Europe.
- 9:20SPEAKER_03: These international athletes, they're not getting money anymore over across the seas.
- 9:24SPEAKER_02: Not like America.
- 9:25SPEAKER_03: But now they can get a college paid for, they can get four years more experience, they can keep their sport at top notch so they can go back to their country and play in Olympic Games in their own from their own country.
- 9:37SPEAKER_03: But you are saying that now they're getting NIL money, they're getting paid to do this.
- 9:42SPEAKER_02: Well, now I'm getting crazy because you're saying that they're all they're coming in at like age twenty two and twenty-three.
- 9:49SPEAKER_03: Older players, yeah.
- 9:49SPEAKER_03: They make they make it.
- 9:50SPEAKER_02: Well, that's the same thing that uh uh Kiven was trying to do to bring the the pro players back.
- 9:56SPEAKER_02: That's wrong.
- 9:57SPEAKER_02: That's flat out wrong.
- 9:58SPEAKER_02: It what do you think?
- 9:59SPEAKER_02: Uh is a Congress and the Senate gonna change that?
- 10:02SPEAKER_02: Is that gonna be part of it?
- 10:03SPEAKER_03: I have hope no idea, but I hope they do change it.
- 10:07SPEAKER_02: Maybe they will adjust it.
- 10:08SPEAKER_03: Because it's a big problem.
- 10:09SPEAKER_03: You know, it's not right to take away our young Americans' dream of going to college and getting, you know, maybe a spot in the pros, maybe not, but at least getting their college paid for and advancing them on their way to a better life.
- 10:24SPEAKER_03: Why should we advance international athletes on their way to a better life?
- 10:29SPEAKER_02: Winning has become all about money and all about winning, winning, money, money, money.
- 10:34SPEAKER_02: It's really no loyalty anymore.
- 10:36SPEAKER_02: I've said this a number of times.
- 10:37SPEAKER_02: Uh I'm just not sure how you're loyal to any university if all you're thinking about is the money and somebody offers you more money and you just hop over to the next uh college, go to the next university.
- 10:50SPEAKER_02: Every year they're like out there trying to find the best deal.
- 10:53SPEAKER_02: And that's not what I feel college sports should be about.
- 10:59SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 10:59SPEAKER_03: It's like it's pro sports now, it's being ruined, and a lot of people who support college sports in the past are stopping and backing away from supporting college sports.
- 11:10SPEAKER_03: College sports will be changing a lot in the future.
- 11:13SPEAKER_03: I think a lot of this NIL will be going away because these players aren't performing.
- 11:17SPEAKER_03: Right now, they can go ahead and play in a game, lose, get in their you know, Lamborghini, Lamborghini, get in their Mustang convertible, drive to their brand new home, little GTO, and not worry about playing in the pros because a lot of these players are getting paid more money than they can make in the pros.
- 11:40SPEAKER_02: So, you know, it's something that And if money is the drive, uh, you wouldn't care if you won or not.
- 11:46SPEAKER_02: And plus the fact sometimes, well, I'm not gonna give it my all because I might get hurt.
- 11:51SPEAKER_03: There you go.
- 11:52SPEAKER_02: So I don't know that how that works.
- 11:54SPEAKER_03: Can we talk about another thing?
- 11:56SPEAKER_02: If you do it quickly, because I've got something political to talk about.
- 12:00SPEAKER_03: There is and I'm gonna try to memorize Wanda Relig's name.
- 12:03SPEAKER_03: Name really, you need to do that.
- 12:04SPEAKER_03: Hey, there's a link between strong teachers' unions and low student literacy scores.
- 12:12SPEAKER_02: Literally No, I can't say it because you can't say it.
- 12:16SPEAKER_02: Literacy scores.
- 12:17SPEAKER_03: Uh Republican conservative states like Indiana, Arkansas, hey, Mississippi, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, states with weak teachers unions have the highest literacy rate among their students.
- 12:33SPEAKER_03: While liberal states with strong teachers union rank among the worst literacy outcomes.
- 12:43SPEAKER_03: Washington state, Hawaii, Illinois, New York, Maine, Delaware.
- 12:51SPEAKER_03: They're at the bottom.
- 12:52SPEAKER_03: Powerful Democrat states with powerful teachers' unions are the worst thing for students.
- 12:58SPEAKER_03: They're not there for the students at all.
- 13:01SPEAKER_03: They're not there for the students.
- 13:02SPEAKER_03: They're there to gain political power for their socialistic movement.
- 13:07SPEAKER_03: Because we all know how socialistic college is and what they're teaching our kids.
- 13:12SPEAKER_03: They want stronger unions, more dues, and powerful teachers' unions that are bad for our children.
- 13:19SPEAKER_03: The teachers' unions' main purpose is to get as much money to flow to the Democrat Party to change our country to a socialistic country.
- 13:30SPEAKER_02: Did I read that they are one of the big contributors to the Democratic commies?
- 13:35SPEAKER_03: Big contributors, absolutely.
- 13:37SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 13:37SPEAKER_02: And it just goes to show it makes sense, doesn't it, of what's happening.
- 13:41SPEAKER_02: But I'm so proud of Mississippi schools.
- 13:44SPEAKER_02: Uh Governor Tate Reeves has done an incredible job of getting those kids' scores, their literacy scores up.
- 13:53SPEAKER_02: I used to report in California would be on the top when I was back in Palm Springs.
- 13:59SPEAKER_02: And Mississippi was down in the bottom, and now it's a reverse.
- 14:04SPEAKER_02: And so I was luckily and happily able to say that to Californians on radio.
- 14:11SPEAKER_02: You know, look what happened.
- 14:12SPEAKER_02: Now you can't be such a bunch of smart alex that you've got the best schools in the nation because obviously you don't.
- 14:19SPEAKER_02: Your scores are down, you're ranking like 48 or 49 in Mississippi that used to be there, is now I believe they were up to number eight by that time when I was still in California, and now they're right on up there.
- 14:32SPEAKER_02: They could I even heard somebody say they thought they were number one, but they couldn't quite verify that.
- 14:38SPEAKER_02: The last I read, they were three.
- 14:40SPEAKER_02: Well so maybe they popped on up to number one after the last year.
- 14:44SPEAKER_03: Also, if you know a teacher, you can tell them the law is you don't need to join the teachers' union.
- 14:52SPEAKER_03: You don't need to pay your due.
- 14:55SPEAKER_03: But most of these people are Democrats going into teaching, and they feel it's their obligation to help their community, democratic community, to keep power so they have more power.
- 15:09SPEAKER_02: But you're in the South and there are a lot of conservative teachers, thank God.
- 15:14SPEAKER_03: So don't join the union and keep the money yourself.
- 15:16SPEAKER_03: Keep it in your own pocket.
- 15:20SPEAKER_02: Okay, I'm looking at the clock.
- 15:21SPEAKER_02: It's time to take a quick break.
- 15:23SPEAKER_02: You're listening to WNAU, 1470 and the Elites Richmond Show, and we're going to be coming right back after a couple quick messages.
- 15:33SPEAKER_02: That song was a big, big song back in the 60s, and I absolutely loved it.
- 15:38SPEAKER_02: You're listening to the Elites Richmond Show, WNAU on 1470.
- 15:43SPEAKER_02: It's an oldie station right here in New Albany, Mississippi, and we are so glad to be here.
- 15:48SPEAKER_02: Well, yesterday while I was shopping in Pontiag for a birthday present for a friend, I bumped into two British guys that were touring America.
- 15:58SPEAKER_02: Now they were going across the South.
- 16:00SPEAKER_02: They'd started in Charleston, which they loved, and then they went on across Georgia, and then they went across Alabama, and now they are going across and down to the Gulf Shores in Mississippi.
- 16:13SPEAKER_02: And they said they loved Mississippi.
- 16:15SPEAKER_02: They really thought it was great.
- 16:17SPEAKER_02: So um, and I'll give them a little bit of um talk here.
- 16:20SPEAKER_02: It was City Mercantile, which is a lovely store in downtown uh Pontock on Main Street.
- 16:25SPEAKER_02: You can find anything you want.
- 16:27SPEAKER_02: But they were in there trying to find refrigerator magnets that said Pontiuk, because they were trying to pick up refrigerator magnets for every place that they stopped.
- 16:36SPEAKER_02: And you know me, being the journalist inquisitive person, I started talking to one of them while the store owner was directing the other one to the stores that might have refrigerator magnets, and I found out that he was the mayor of a town in a county in England, and he was a conservative mayor working with Nigel Farage.
- 16:59SPEAKER_02: Can you believe that?
- 17:00SPEAKER_02: And you know Nigel Farage was the conservative founder of Brexit Party in 2019, and then they rebranded the party as a reform party for the UK in 2021.
- 17:12SPEAKER_02: Nigel Farage served as the face of the unofficial Leave the U EU campaign, and he did do that.
- 17:21SPEAKER_02: And uh I just had an incredible discussion with this gentleman on subjects such as what's happening in England of my uh migration in the last 10 years and all the Muslims that have been running into every part of England.
- 17:35SPEAKER_02: And he even said that now there are three major enclaves in London where British citizens, if you're not a Muslim, you can't even go in and they won't even let the police in.
- 17:45SPEAKER_02: And his last words to me, he says it's just not the England he grew up in.
- 17:50SPEAKER_02: And if Americans want to know what is in store for them, because Islam is creeping into this nation, and if you want to know what it looks like or what America is going to look like, not in ten years, as we used to say, not in five years, he says in just a couple years, just come on over to his town and he will be happy to show you.
- 18:15SPEAKER_02: The mayor of London is an uh uh Muslim, and uh so here you go, folks.
- 18:23SPEAKER_02: Heads up to America if you want your children and your grandchildren to be raised in freedom and liberty and have the same freedom and liberty that we all grew up with that we love and adore.
- 18:35SPEAKER_02: Take a look at England, do a little research, do a little study.
- 18:39SPEAKER_02: Needless to say, we exchanged contact information, and as soon as he gets home, he's gonna be on the Elise Richmond show, so look for that in the future.
- 18:50SPEAKER_02: Okay, and now that we are back going strong, I want to get going with the show that was planned, because I kind of added that in at the last minute about the bread.
- 19:02SPEAKER_02: But he was delightful and he was a true conservative, and he says it's a fight.
- 19:07SPEAKER_02: So our guest today, as I said earlier, is none other than the president of the Pontiau County Republican Women, Wanda Rutledge.
- 19:16SPEAKER_02: I do know her name.
- 19:17SPEAKER_02: So welcome to the Elise Richmond show, Wanda Rutledge.
- 19:20SPEAKER_02: Thank you, Elise.
- 19:22SPEAKER_02: Good morning, everyone.
- 19:23SPEAKER_02: I am so glad that you are here.
- 19:25SPEAKER_02: It is special, and I have a special place in my heart for President Wanda Rutledge.
- 19:30SPEAKER_02: She doesn't know this, so I'm gonna tell her and all of you at the same time.
- 19:34SPEAKER_02: When I was president of Ponja County Republican Women for four or five years or whatever, who's counting, um Wanda stepped forward to take my place, and I was so grateful she stepped forward to be the president of the club.
- 19:48SPEAKER_02: So I can personally thank her right now on radio for doing that.
- 19:52SPEAKER_02: Wanda Rutledge, thank you.
- 19:55SPEAKER_01: Yes, Elise.
- 19:56SPEAKER_01: It's true.
- 19:57SPEAKER_01: Thank you for introducing me so well to Ponotok County Republican Women.
- 20:01SPEAKER_01: Well, it's true.
- 20:02SPEAKER_02: Uh Pontick County Republican Women is a special group.
- 20:05SPEAKER_02: I think Union County Republican women and uh we've got LaFaya County Republican women, Lee County Republican women, they're all around uh northern and central and southern Mississippi.
- 20:19SPEAKER_02: It is a very large group that comes together to be the Mississippi Federation of Republican Women.
- 20:25SPEAKER_02: And I actually have uh I'm just very proud to be a part of it.
- 20:31SPEAKER_02: I always have been.
- 20:32SPEAKER_02: So what say you about the club?
- 20:34SPEAKER_02: You're the president.
- 20:35SPEAKER_02: What do you like about it?
- 20:36SPEAKER_02: How did you get there in the first place, Wanda?
- 20:39SPEAKER_02: What did how did you find out about it?
- 20:40SPEAKER_02: I'm curious.
- 20:41SPEAKER_01: Well, speaking of of the Mississippi Federation, uh, I believe we have about sixteen hundred members across the state now.
- 20:48SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's good.
- 20:50SPEAKER_01: But uh with the Pontock County Club, I uh the um as a first of all as a Christian, as a conservative Republican, um I first uh heard about the club, and it was during the time when uh Donald Trump was talking about running for president.
- 21:08SPEAKER_01: We had started talking about the marijuana initiative, and I was very had always been very interested in uh politics, as a matter of fact.
- 21:17SPEAKER_02: And so I Well, your husband was the mayor of politics for how many years?
- 21:22SPEAKER_01: Uh he was he served three terms.
- 21:24SPEAKER_01: Three terms, okay.
- 21:25SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 21:25SPEAKER_01: So that would have been 12 years he was mayor, and uh so he and I both had always been very uh interested and involved.
- 21:33SPEAKER_01: Um registered to vote when I was 18 years old, and I'm can say that I have never missed voting in any election since I was 18 years old.
- 21:43SPEAKER_01: Um excellent.
- 21:44SPEAKER_01: So just very interested in and uh what was going on in our not only our county and state, but in our nation as well.
- 21:52SPEAKER_01: But it um so the Republic Pontock County Republican women, our uh the reason we exist is is to elect conservative Republican candidates.
- 22:04SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 22:04SPEAKER_01: And we stress that all the time.
- 22:07SPEAKER_01: We try to keep our members informed, the public informed, informed and educated on what's going on.
- 22:13SPEAKER_01: Uh if we don't know what's going on, how can we care what's going on?
- 22:18SPEAKER_02: That's right.
- 22:18SPEAKER_02: And how do you know who to vote for?
- 22:20SPEAKER_02: So, you know, that said, I was I was going to tell you, Wanda, that I think what we have to do and what everybody needs to know about before the election, all those judges and all of those odds and ends things that are happening on that ballot, because we need to know what's going on.
- 22:37SPEAKER_02: It's very important with those judges.
- 22:39SPEAKER_02: You can all see now what happens when a liberal, liberal, crazy commie judge they say some they they make some very bad judgments on cases.
- 22:52SPEAKER_01: Sometimes it's hard to know about the judges because they don't declare a party.
- 22:56SPEAKER_01: That's right.
- 22:56SPEAKER_01: We need to be educated.
- 22:58SPEAKER_01: We need to educate ourselves and try to educate the public right on even the the judicial candidates.
- 23:05SPEAKER_01: They are so important because they make a lot of a lot of decisions for us.
- 23:10SPEAKER_03: You know, Elise, one of the things back in California that happened was we had a lot of Republican lawyers.
- 23:17SPEAKER_03: Yes we did.
- 23:18SPEAKER_03: Republican lawyers would come out and help go ahead and classify what judges you should vote for.
- 23:25SPEAKER_03: Yes they'd help us we should probably look for lawyers either here locally or statewide that are doing the same thing because if they're not we need to get them to do that.
- 23:36SPEAKER_02: They should be doing that.
- 23:38SPEAKER_02: They should they should be doing that or we might have to call in Fitch's office and tell her we need to know about these people because it's gotten more and more important it really has in my in my book because there's so many things about local government and the state government that is part of your life.
- 23:56SPEAKER_02: It's the rules and regulations that run your life.
- 23:59SPEAKER_02: And so we have to know about these people and who they are.
- 24:02SPEAKER_02: Knowing that Muslims lie about who they are many many times we have to make sure that we are picking carefully and uh not and commies lie too I guess.
- 24:12SPEAKER_02: We have to let's just sum it up like this just vote Republican.
- 24:16SPEAKER_02: You'll be fine oh my it it gets you have to make it a little light every once in a while or it gets very very serious.
- 24:26SPEAKER_02: Anyway I had another question about you is what do you think is important for the Republican women in our county to to do if they are interested what are the steps that you took and then what do we want them to do?
- 24:43SPEAKER_01: Well our club meets monthly except for June and July on the second Tuesday second Monday excuse me of each month at the Pontock County Library.
- 24:54SPEAKER_01: We have a light meal at six o'clock we have our meetings starting at 630ish we have a great time of fellowship we have great programs we always try to give the latest and uh you know most current information um to our members uh to those who attend that the public's invited you don't have to be a member to come so we want anyone and everyone men women children whoever to come to our meetings.
- 25:22SPEAKER_02: Absolutely if you even had some questions if you noticed in the paper who the speaker was going to be and you wanted to hear that speaker for example Ron Eller maybe is going to be coming in before the election and you might want to really meet Ron Eller running against Benny Bernie Thompson over in the Delta.
- 25:39SPEAKER_02: We can't vote for him because it's not our district our precinct but you might really want to know this guy.
- 25:46SPEAKER_02: You're welcome to come to our meeting have some lunch uh dinner with us and meet Ron Eller so you can do that.
- 25:52SPEAKER_01: Don't be afraid to do it we would love to have you that's right Elise we have uh had great speakers we love to have our our candidates in and that gives the community an opportunity to meet in person I can remember if I as I was a child if I had our opportunity or for my children even to meet our United States senator our United States representative our state officials I would have jumped at that chance to have brought my children to meet those people uh and you know get more involved in our government whether it's local or state or national.
- 26:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah and really know that they're real life people so I remember when I was president and we had that truck rally for the Trump truck rally right and I remember you coming with your family in that truck and you had a grandson that had actually dressed up like Donald Trump.
- 26:45SPEAKER_01: That's right and he's still very involved going to Ole Miss next hottie today for your grandson right uh majoring in public or going into law school and he's actually going to minor at least we'll be familiar with this with the uh Ole Miss Declar freedom right the Declaration of Independence and Liberty Dr.
- 27:10SPEAKER_01: Scoltetti right and uh so yes so he's he's grown up um beside me loving loving to be involved I am so excited about that because uh that's something that we'll have to tell uh Dr.
- 27:23SPEAKER_01: Scultetti about I'll let him know that because he um he would be very met with him last Friday yes he did yeah he's a good guy to to have as a leader but in our club you know we we feel like we must educate our young people uh on the constitution uh and we've done that our club has sponsored uh education in September for Constitution Month in our schools for several years now uh it needs to start in our families of educating our children uh and then into the schools and so our club has been very active in in trying to do that these and the next getting out the vote uh we are focusing on that right now we have some good ideas in place about to work on some of that this afternoon I think with Elise to get out the vote for these midterm elections these midterm elections are crucial yes they are can very well will be the turning point of our nation in these midterm elections uh so please uh don't be uh shy about speaking out don't be shy about asking reminding people to vote and to rev to vote for the conservative Republican candidates absolutely we've got to see it happening we need to take another break right now and when we come back we're gonna continue the conversation I want you to know what is actually happening in Pontiauk trying to sell raffle tickets also you need to know all about the club and how it fits into the state uh Mississippi uh federation of republican women and we've got the right person here to tell us about that it's the president of the Pontique County Republican women Wanda Relicho stay with us because there is more more more about what's coming up and then we've got to talk about President Trump.
- 29:21SPEAKER_02: We haven't done that in a while stay with us welcome back to the Lise Richmond Show.
- 29:31SPEAKER_02: We are still conservatively speaking we are still saying exactly what you are thinking.
- 29:36SPEAKER_02: Now y'all just heard that new commercial for First Choice Bank and just remember First Choice Bang they're coming soon to New Albany and they have jumped right in sponsoring WNAU's football and basketball programs they're really getting involved in the community and I'm very very happy to uh be able to announce that to you remember their motto is serving the communities we call home now Bob Richman wants to say something about that too I guess what Elise what's your first choice in banking first choice bank okay we've we've been there ever since we've been in Pontian we have yes and it was so nice when we went in there everybody was so friendly and they made us feel at home and I happen to know that um Wanda Rutledge has an absolutely darling stepdaughter stepdaughter Buffy and she helped me get that all together with the commercials and Buffy is lovely she is uh she is very very friendly she's gorgeous she's very pretty and she was dressed of course so banker esque and uh anyway so that makes it all a family thing here right first choice has been our bank all of our lives there you go so here are three happy first choice bank customers and you can be one too right here in New Albany coming soon.
- 30:59SPEAKER_02: Okay back to Republican women and the president of the Ponta County Republican women Wanda Rutledge Wanda you became a member you we know how you got involved in it and we were talking about your little grandson in the back of the truck dressed like Trump going around town that was a real fun night some guy showed up that had one of those uh train horns and everybody knew we were there that was for sure.
- 31:23SPEAKER_02: Maybe we had to do that right before this next uh election do something to make a little noise and let everybody know we're here.
- 31:30SPEAKER_02: Anyway as president of the Pontock County Republican women you've been really really busy selling tickets with your Ways and Means project for a raffle that's coming up and anybody out there that wants raffle tickets you can win a proximity four or five hundred dollar value pair of boots at the new boot shop in Pontial everybody needs to go over there and check out the new boot shop but everybody would like to have a pair of those gorgeous boots 500 bucks is a good thing that's the value roughly of a pair of those boots you get to pick out the boots you want and we're selling tickets and so Wanda Rutledge Farmers Market selling those tickets passing out Senator Cindy Heid Smith and Representative Trent Kelly's yard signs for the upcoming election in November Saturday it's all kind of a unique experience you had so tell us about it.
- 32:27SPEAKER_01: Well we did set up in the parking lot adjacent to the farmers market uh for to sell our tickets for the uh BB boots that will be uh given away in November and we had Cindy Hyde Smith yard signs a few Trent Kelly yard signs uh talking with the people having conversation about uh our conservative values and uh about our Republican candidates um so yes and we'll be we'll continue to be there in that private parking lot um for each furniture farmers market coming up in the next few weeks and it's really a fun thing to do we've all liked to go to farmers markets but you can always look around and find the Pontiac County Republican women's booth and I've been so used to doing that I'm gonna have to get down there.
- 33:17SPEAKER_02: My problem is I don't want to be there at 7 o'clock when I worked a booth for for the Palm Springs women it was a nighttime village fest.
- 33:25SPEAKER_02: We didn't have to be there till five it's 7 to 11 so you can come at 10 30 there you go 10 30 will work I'll work half an hour that works for me and then I have plenty of time to go running around and looking at last time I was there the great tomatoes oh my goodness yes and all of that produce comes out and it is so good.
- 33:44SPEAKER_02: Fresh baked bread everybody needs to run on over to Ponotop so now gang what else would you like to talk about before we start talking about oh I know what we wanted to tell everybody about the fall board uh meeting that's down in Jackson for the Mississippi Republican uh women's federated this is something else you get to do you get to go to the state level when you want to to come to these uh board meetings uh right before we do that can't I want to say something about our first amendment rights.
- 34:15SPEAKER_01: Oh sure go ahead our first amendment rights being threatened they are being threatened locally we know nationally everywhere and uh so we need to be bold to speak up we need to first be educated uh I will say this I kind of funny and not so funny either I did ask someone uh what uh what is the Bill of Rights an adult person I won't say who it was and just see what was said and uh and that person said um um he took the statement from the uh Declaration of Independence instead and said uh something to the effect of we are all created uh equal equal yeah that has nothing to do with the first amendment and that has nothing to do with the first amendment rights even though it's true but that person thought that was what they thought was a the Bill of Rights.
- 35:06SPEAKER_01: They had confused the Bill of Rights with the Declaration of Independence.
- 35:10SPEAKER_01: So there again just saying that to say we need to be educated.
- 35:14SPEAKER_01: We do we need to be educated and that's uh one of our goals with the Pont County Republican women is to educate our community educate um our community so that we know we don't have to wonder about what our Constitution says we know what it says.
- 35:31SPEAKER_01: So we need to be bold we first we need to be educated then we need to be bold to speak up about it because our I can tell you personally that our rights are being questioned and threatened even on the local level.
- 35:45SPEAKER_03: What say you Bob Well it's you have the strongest right to political speak on public property in traditional public forums public streets sidewalks parks.
- 35:56SPEAKER_03: The US Consensus First amendment protects peaceful speech and assembly on public property.
- 36:04SPEAKER_03: Uh along with that in California we had a lot of problems when we walked and knocked on people's doors and uh with homeowners associations.
- 36:14SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 36:15SPEAKER_03: And now again you should respect other people's rights so with homeowners associations you need to go in and talk to them to see if you're able to go ahead and talk and walk and knock.
- 36:28SPEAKER_03: And also if people have uh no soliciting signs there's a big difference between commercial soliciting and canvassing politics is different than trying to sell insurance at the door.
- 36:45SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 36:46SPEAKER_03: So if a person has no uh soliciting sign it's not it's a general sign you can go knock but if they have that sign you still maybe should just if you have a leaflet just leave the leaflet not walk knock and respect their right um because you don't want to upset them because if you upset them they're not gonna listen to who you're trying to advocate for or anything like that.
- 37:11SPEAKER_03: And uh it's you know something that is very important and elite yes these this is all the laws.
- 37:21SPEAKER_03: Yes it's law.
- 37:22SPEAKER_03: And who passes the laws?
- 37:23SPEAKER_03: The people government who who exactly politicians right the politicians that you're trying to get elected.
- 37:31SPEAKER_03: There you go.
- 37:32SPEAKER_03: So why do you think they would go ahead and try to limit anybody's political speech on going knocking on doors or soliciting votes handing out signs in public property on public space and then if you want to do it in private you can do it on private property.
- 37:49SPEAKER_03: A lot of times we've set up uh booths in front of post office grocery stores to go ahead and get people to sign up to register to vote.
- 38:00SPEAKER_02: But that's not private property.
- 38:02SPEAKER_03: Well Safeway or someplace like that.
- 38:04SPEAKER_03: Right those are private property anybody to go ask management if it's okay for you to set up and where you can set up because you can't block the doorway or anything like that.
- 38:15SPEAKER_03: Now one thing you want to look at is if all the Democrats could do what they do, which is far more destructive than anybody in the Republican Party has ever done I mean just look at the way they protest ICE their freedom of speech in the First Amendment when they talk and protest ICE.
- 38:33SPEAKER_03: It's unbelievable.
- 38:35SPEAKER_02: So but they don't want anybody else to be doing that that's right.
- 38:38SPEAKER_02: They want to have the absolute monopoly on acting up burning things down and going absolutely wild and getting in people's faces and this hits a little note with me that I'm gonna say right now Republicans are very very polite people usually Republicans do not want any conflict they don't want any confrontation.
- 39:04SPEAKER_02: This gentleman from Britain and I were talking about this yesterday how he wished now they had gotten more involved they had put more push out they had started their own protest about all of the immigration policies right there in front of the Parliament they said it's time for America to step up and let everybody know that we aren't going to be pushed around by a bunch of commies by a bunch of Muslims.
- 39:30SPEAKER_02: And he really was adamant about it he said you still have a chance to stop this.
- 39:36SPEAKER_02: We are going right down the rabbit hole with it.
- 39:39SPEAKER_02: And I think it's very very important that everybody understand voting is the first thing voting for the people who really are going to be conservative and look at common sense how can you have some crazy person running around like these Democrats have got they're actually saying who they are listen to them and they're nutty as a bunch of loons I've never seen a Republican woman act like that.
- 40:07SPEAKER_02: Never ever and I think it's about time we do.
- 40:10SPEAKER_03: Well not as bad as the Democrats no we're never going to be like that.
- 40:15SPEAKER_02: But I mean we've got to get out there and let um voices be heard and don't be bullied don't be intimidated.
- 40:23SPEAKER_02: We can't because this is what happened I've seen it before I've told this group before about being on a television show with the debate and uh I was the female conservative we had a male conservative uh sitting beside me had a moderator and then we had a female um democrat and a male democrat I don't even remember their names they were commies they were I know that now because I found out later one of them was the head of the Southern California uh Obama campaign hello anyway they would not let us speak she would put pose the question and they'd start talking right away not even letting the moderators say doing anything about answer anything it was like horrible and so I was getting very frustrated you guys could imagine how I wanted that mic.
- 41:14SPEAKER_02: So I took the bull by thorn I grabbed my mic I turned and looked directly at the TV camera and just started talking and boy oh boy that surprised the heck out of them because they didn't have any Republicans any conservatives stepping up to the plate against them they'll get in your face and you're they want you to back down.
- 41:34SPEAKER_02: Now why are they doing that?
- 41:35SPEAKER_02: They're doing that to silence you if they can silence you then nobody's going to hear the other side now are they?
- 41:45SPEAKER_02: Anything else Bob about that I think you said it well you well I get fired up about it because I've been in the middle of it and it just is so annoying.
- 41:54SPEAKER_01: Anyway Wanda do you have anything else to say about it well I do have one thing to say I think uh so many Christians um turn the other deal that they should not that they should be silent and I don't believe that.
- 42:11SPEAKER_01: I don't either I think that we should stand up against evil uh as I I think that that's our evil our wrong you know our responsibility.
- 42:24SPEAKER_01: I don't know of anything in the Christian history or heritage that where God's uh said allow evil to take you over without standing up against each standing up absolutely and we certainly we do that in love and respect not like some do in burning buildings and things like that.
- 42:42SPEAKER_01: But uh yes I believe that we must stand up against evil.
- 42:47SPEAKER_02: We have to when I think about how lackadaisical we are about saying how we feel and what we actually believe as Christians look at the Chinese preachers ministers who are trying to preach and teach people when they have to even hide their Bibles because I think they throw you in prison right away if they find a Bible any place and then we've just heard uh seen the one on television that was just released with his family.
- 43:15SPEAKER_02: Uh you we don't have that problem why because we have First Amendment rights together to assemble free speech to say our Christian beliefs and to go to church.
- 43:28SPEAKER_02: Communism is not going to allow you to do that and Islam is going to kill you if you continue it's a good thing that's what we have to speak up.
- 43:34SPEAKER_03: If socialism doesn't allow it either because over in England now if you speak against the Muslim that's you're going to be thrown in jail.
- 43:42SPEAKER_02: You'll be in jail immediately that's what one of those men told me yesterday yeah and so we have uh it's real people it's real it's not something that a bunch of crazy people are talking about uh it's a real fact and if you don't believe it look into England right now.
- 44:01SPEAKER_02: Germany right now.
- 44:03SPEAKER_02: Look into it.
- 44:05SPEAKER_02: Okay, let's change the subject.
- 44:07SPEAKER_02: I'll get off my soapbox for a while and let's talk about the Mississippi Federation of Republican Women's Fall Board Meeting.
- 44:18SPEAKER_02: Did we ever get to that?
- 44:20SPEAKER_02: Not yet, but here we go.
- 44:22SPEAKER_01: I tried to start it a couple times and we keep going uh down the yellow brick road here.
- 44:28SPEAKER_01: Okay, so the Mississippi Federation of Republican Women, uh approximately 1,600 members now, we'll be having our fall board meeting uh in Flowwood, Mississippi coming up October the 10th.
- 44:41SPEAKER_01: They've moved that meeting to uh Saturday so that more women can be involved because a lot of women work and couldn't make it on a weekday meeting, so it has been moved uh to uh Saturday.
- 44:55SPEAKER_01: Uh the uh speakers will be uh Sidney Hyde Smith will be there to speak, and also a young lady by the name of Peyton McNab.
- 45:06SPEAKER_01: And Peyton McNab uh was injured by a transgender athlete.
- 45:12SPEAKER_01: Uh she has pretty much recovered from those injuries, but uh still has some problems, and she'll be there speaking uh as well.
- 45:21SPEAKER_01: So we're excited about that.
- 45:22SPEAKER_01: Looking forward to that.
- 45:24SPEAKER_01: At that meeting, of course, the business of the Federation will be taken care of, right?
- 45:30SPEAKER_01: Uh, but also with these great speakers and programs, education, uh, educational and good information from our Mississippi Federation.
- 45:40SPEAKER_02: Do they have uh booths outside of the um the conference rooms or the convention halls?
- 45:46SPEAKER_02: Do they have set up booths where you can buy books or you know jewelry?
- 45:50SPEAKER_01: Yes, Republican jewelry, plenty of vendors.
- 45:54SPEAKER_01: So plenty of vendors.
- 45:56SPEAKER_01: Women always like to shop.
- 45:57SPEAKER_01: That's right, plenty of vendors and uh good information.
- 46:01SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 46:01SPEAKER_02: And so Cindy Hyde Smith is one of the speakers.
- 46:04SPEAKER_02: That's good.
- 46:04SPEAKER_02: Is Ron Eller gonna be one of the speakers?
- 46:08SPEAKER_01: He is not on the program to speak.
- 46:10SPEAKER_01: I'm sure he'll be there.
- 46:11SPEAKER_01: Absolutely along with representatives, absolutely, people representing him, as will all of our candidates, you know, because that will be what two weeks, three weeks before the midterm elections.
- 46:23SPEAKER_01: And uh what about the free lunch or dinner or whatever it is?
- 46:27SPEAKER_01: Yes, uh Senator Roger Wicker, Senator uh Cindy Hyde Smith, uh, and uh a couple more, maybe that I don't recall right now, are sponsoring our um our meal that day.
- 46:40SPEAKER_02: Well that's thank you to them.
- 46:42SPEAKER_02: That's a very nice thing to do.
- 46:44SPEAKER_02: And I think they ought to be sponsoring Ron Eller.
- 46:47SPEAKER_02: Maybe you ought to give a little money to Ron Eller to Roger Wicker and Cindy Hyde Smith, because he might have a chance if he had money to get his name out again to beat Benny Bernie Thompson, talk about getting communists out of Washington.
- 47:04SPEAKER_02: There's your chance, Mississippi.
- 47:06SPEAKER_02: There's your chance.
- 47:08SPEAKER_02: So we need he needs money.
- 47:10SPEAKER_02: Send it to him.
- 47:11SPEAKER_02: All you've got to do is go to his website, and that is voteron.com.
- 47:16SPEAKER_02: And of course, if you're in the Delta, vote for him.
- 47:20SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 47:21SPEAKER_02: Um we have talked about so many things, but I want to ask you, do you still love Donald Trump as much as you did in the beginning?
- 47:28SPEAKER_01: I do love his uh the way he governs.
- 47:31SPEAKER_01: I certainly do.
- 47:32SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 47:33SPEAKER_01: He's a businessman, he knows more about running the country than anybody I've ever seen.
- 47:39SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 47:39SPEAKER_01: Others that we've had.
- 47:41SPEAKER_01: Um, and um speaking of of that as well, our club, I'm sort of changing the subject back again.
- 47:47SPEAKER_01: That's okay.
- 47:48SPEAKER_01: But we're having this fundraiser coming up, and the reason we have fundraisers is so we can support candidates.
- 47:53SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 47:54SPEAKER_01: So we have and will be sending uh donation to Ron Eller.
- 47:59SPEAKER_02: Good, good.
- 48:00SPEAKER_02: I I appreciate that, and I appreciate you telling everybody maybe Ron Eller's listening, so he can be waiting for the money to come.
- 48:07SPEAKER_02: And anyone who wants to donate to Ron Eller, please do.
- 48:11SPEAKER_02: So now you can buy raffle tickets for um a boot for B boots.
- 48:19SPEAKER_02: You can do all kinds of things like that to help support the Republican women, and we are so ready to have you join our club.
- 48:28SPEAKER_02: So give a call to 760-409-5297 and join the club.
- 48:34SPEAKER_02: Come on, we want to see the membership grow.
- 48:37SPEAKER_02: Right now is the start of getting all the membership coming in and paying the dues.
- 48:42SPEAKER_02: It's gonna cost you$40 to belong to the club, and you will be able to do that and be a member for 2027.
- 48:53SPEAKER_02: So uh we need help always bringing out the vote, we need help with our candidates, and we also have a real good time while we're doing it.
- 49:05SPEAKER_02: So um I always ask, uh I always ask everybody, their last question is what would you like to say if I've missed anything?
- 49:19SPEAKER_02: What would you like to say, Madam President?
- 49:23SPEAKER_01: Uh I would just like to say how or again how important it is for us to be educated, have the information that we need, uh, know our candidates and vote for those conservative Republicans.
- 49:37SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 49:38SPEAKER_02: Excellent, excellent.
- 49:40SPEAKER_02: I forgot to talk about, we forgot to talk about the dinners and some of the events that the Republican women have had this year with the National The National Guard.
- 49:52SPEAKER_02: We feed them Christmas lunch on one of the Saturdays that they're there.
- 49:57SPEAKER_02: Also, the cookie drive.
- 49:59SPEAKER_02: We bake a bunch of cookies and we put them all together in trays and we take them to our first responders.
- 50:06SPEAKER_02: All first responders get those cookies.
- 50:08SPEAKER_02: Everybody from the Sheriff's Department, the police, the firemen, the first responder emergency group, and everybody gets them.
- 50:16SPEAKER_02: So we're just a couple, just two things that we actually do to uh keep this going.
- 50:25SPEAKER_02: Anyway, I am going to tell you one very important thing that I have here.
- 50:31SPEAKER_02: We want oh Miss Rebels have got a bye, and so we don't have anything to say about them.
- 50:36SPEAKER_02: They're gonna rest up for a while.
- 50:39SPEAKER_02: But uh Mississipp State is going to be playing, are you ready for this, folks?
- 50:45SPEAKER_02: Alabama at home.
- 50:46SPEAKER_02: So that's gonna be a good game to watch.
- 50:48SPEAKER_02: And I have another little thing.
- 50:50SPEAKER_02: The quote of the day is we must be willing to let go the past to have the life we have planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us.
- 51:02SPEAKER_02: And while I'm gonna put that one to good use is you've been wrong too long, get right tonight, get with the Conservative Party, join the Republicans, join the Republican women, and let's make it all happen, folks.
- 51:16SPEAKER_02: We really need to do that.
- 51:18SPEAKER_02: I want to thank the president of the Pontaut County Republican women, Wanda Rutledge, for being here on the show this morning.
- 51:24SPEAKER_02: And as always, a big thank you to all of you listeners out there.
- 51:28SPEAKER_02: Please come back next Tuesday at 11 o'clock to WNAU 1470.
- 51:33SPEAKER_02: The Elise Richmond Show always says listen at 11 every Tuesday.
- 51:38SPEAKER_02: Continue to pray for President Donald J.
- 51:41SPEAKER_02: Trump and his family, for Vice President J.D.
- 51:44SPEAKER_02: Vance and his family, for all of our military.
- 51:47SPEAKER_02: Bring them home safely to their families no matter where they are in this world.
- 51:51SPEAKER_02: God bless all of you, and God bless our America.
- 51:58SPEAKER_00: You've been listening to the Elise Richmond Show right here on WNAU.
- 52:04SPEAKER_00: Be sure and tune in again next Tuesday at 11 for the Elise Richmond Show.
