- 0:00Speaker 1: Definitely rewatchable.
- 0:01Speaker 2: Fun way to end Phase five. Hope we see some
- 0:03Speaker 2: of these characters again. And iron Heart is a villain.
- 0:08Speaker 1: That's it.
- 0:09Speaker 3: That's what I got.
- 0:14Speaker 4: Hello and welcome to made the review beat with you
- 0:17Speaker 4: with Nick and Joe.
- 0:18Speaker 2: I'm Joe and I'm Nick, and today we are talking
- 0:22Speaker 2: about the end of Phase five and the MCU. Of course,
- 0:26Speaker 2: the mini series television series iron Heart concluded recently. Six
- 0:32Speaker 2: episode television mini series Phase five is now over and this.
- 0:38Speaker 1: So much happened in six episodes.
- 0:40Speaker 2: We got to see Reby Williams again aka iron Heart,
- 0:43Speaker 2: which was awesome. I think she's one of my favorite
- 0:47Speaker 2: newer characters that the MCUs introduced. And yeah, not only
- 0:51Speaker 2: did we get some new characters in the show.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Some crazy, some crazy things went down.
- 0:57Speaker 2: We basically got an iron iron Man suit with some
- 1:00Speaker 2: magic going on.
- 1:01Speaker 1: And I don't even know where to start, Joe kick
- 1:03Speaker 1: us off.
- 1:06Speaker 4: Yeah, this show, this show came and went so fast.
- 1:13Speaker 4: First off, let me just say yeah, like, well, I
- 1:16Speaker 4: guess like you said. It was good to see Dominique
- 1:19Speaker 4: Thorne back in the suit after getting to see her
- 1:23Speaker 4: in Wakanda Forever or yeah, what kind of forever?
- 1:26Speaker 3: Right? Black Panther, what kind of forever? Yeah, okay, I
- 1:28Speaker 3: got it.
- 1:29Speaker 4: Yeah, sorry, There have been so many movies and shows
- 1:32Speaker 4: since since three it's kind of wild. Which does bring
- 1:36Speaker 4: us to the topic here of we are at the
- 1:38Speaker 4: end of Phase five, which I don't know if that
- 1:41Speaker 4: means anything anymore. I was I was thinking about like
- 1:47Speaker 4: the phases, right, and where where we've been since Endgame?
- 1:50Speaker 4: And really I was, I was thinking about Phase five
- 1:52Speaker 4: and how we're supposed to be heading toward you know,
- 1:56Speaker 4: the new version of Endgame, right, Secret Wars and and
- 2:00Speaker 4: what is it doom World?
- 2:02Speaker 3: No, not doom World, what's called doom Doomsday? Doomsday? Thank
- 2:08Speaker 3: you God.
- 2:08Speaker 4: It was so much easier. I made it so hard
- 2:10Speaker 4: on myself. Yeah, we're supposedly like marching to that. And
- 2:15Speaker 4: I was looking at the films and TV shows that
- 2:18Speaker 4: were listed in Phase five, and there are twelve properties, right,
- 2:21Speaker 4: including Ironheart, And when I was looking at what's relevant
- 2:26Speaker 4: or what appears to be relevant for those two big
- 2:29Speaker 4: ensemble movies that were leading toward, only six were relevant,
- 2:34Speaker 4: So like, half of phase five not important.
- 2:39Speaker 3: Ultimately, Wow, Jesus.
- 2:41Speaker 1: You heard it here first, folks. Half of Phase five
- 2:44Speaker 1: is not important.
- 2:44Speaker 3: Coordinate. It isn't.
- 2:47Speaker 4: That's not going to me, all right, that's according to
- 2:48Speaker 4: the blueprint Marvel has laid out before us. Okay, if
- 2:52Speaker 4: you're gonna sit here and tell me that, even though
- 2:53Speaker 4: I love Agatha all along and I think that that
- 2:56Speaker 4: was probably the best thing to come out of Phase five,
- 3:00Speaker 4: if you're gonna tell me Agatha all along is important
- 3:02Speaker 4: to Doomsday, you're out of your mind.
- 3:05Speaker 3: M oh Man.
- 3:07Speaker 1: I hope you're proven wrong somehow.
- 3:08Speaker 4: And you know what, I would I would love that too.
- 3:14Speaker 4: Agatha is amazing. Honestly, Phase five could be saved with
- 3:19Speaker 4: more Agatha.
- 3:20Speaker 3: It would It would be so much, so much better.
- 3:24Speaker 4: But anyway, case, we're here to talk about Ironheart, a
- 3:27Speaker 4: show I think I ultimately like. I think overall it
- 3:32Speaker 4: was kind of it was kind of a middle of
- 3:34Speaker 4: the pack Marvel show for me.
- 3:36Speaker 3: What about what about you? Yeah?
- 3:39Speaker 2: I think, I don't know. I think maybe a little
- 3:40Speaker 2: bit higher than middle of the road. Overall awesome.
- 3:44Speaker 1: I enjoyed it.
- 3:46Speaker 2: I just I love the the crossover between magic and
- 3:50Speaker 2: tech and it's I don't we really haven't seen that yet,
- 3:55Speaker 2: and it I guess five phases in the kind of
- 4:00Speaker 2: figure out new things to do, but it's kind of
- 4:01Speaker 2: shocking in a way that we haven't got maybe more
- 4:04Speaker 2: of a crossover in that sense.
- 4:06Speaker 1: That was really cool though, how they.
- 4:09Speaker 2: How they went about like exploring that right with with
- 4:13Speaker 2: her kind of finding herself in this shop and you know,
- 4:17Speaker 2: meeting a young which if you will, and then having
- 4:23Speaker 2: her you know, essentially kind of like cast a spell
- 4:26Speaker 2: to to integrate the magic with the suit. Just kind
- 4:31Speaker 2: of hard to wrap my head around the implications of that,
- 4:34Speaker 2: and we of course don't really know all of it.
- 4:37Speaker 2: The other thing that's really cool about this show that
- 4:39Speaker 2: I loved is like the biggest question for me is
- 4:44Speaker 2: is Ironheart a hero or a villain? And I don't
- 4:50Speaker 2: we don't have the answer for that. Really, I think
- 4:53Speaker 2: you can make a case both ways, and judging by
- 4:56Speaker 2: how this show ended, I think it's trending more towards
- 5:00Speaker 2: potential villain, which is unexpected based on what I was
- 5:06Speaker 2: thinking going into the show. So that's kind of the
- 5:10Speaker 2: quick things that come to my mind.
- 5:12Speaker 4: I don't I don't know if if she's straight up
- 5:14Speaker 4: just gonna be a villain. Yeah, I don't think it's
- 5:16Speaker 4: quite that like you know, cut and dry. Yeah, I
- 5:21Speaker 4: think really like, from what we've seen of her in
- 5:25Speaker 4: this show, she appears to be a character that's like
- 5:27Speaker 4: painted in multitudes, right Like, Ultimately she wants to do good,
- 5:31Speaker 4: I think with her with her suit, and she wants
- 5:33Speaker 4: to make an impression on the world, bigger than Stark,
- 5:37Speaker 4: bigger than Pim right, right, But the way that she's
- 5:40Speaker 4: trying to get there is highly questionable, which I think,
- 5:44Speaker 4: you know, just makes her all the more compelling.
- 5:47Speaker 3: I'll say this just into like a quick review of
- 5:50Speaker 3: the show.
- 5:51Speaker 4: Like this show was given to us in basically like
- 5:54Speaker 4: kind of two short movies, right Like, we had three
- 5:58Speaker 4: episodes released and three episodes released back to back weeks. Right,
- 6:02Speaker 4: first three episodes, I thought we were mostly pretty solid. In fact,
- 6:07Speaker 4: I loved where it ended with the Hood begging his
- 6:11Speaker 4: employer for help, only to get that shadowy reveal that
- 6:14Speaker 4: the employer is probably Mephisto, right the way that the
- 6:19Speaker 4: shadow comes out to which you know, spoilers it is
- 6:23Speaker 4: it's Mephisto. But uh yeah, four, five, and six I
- 6:27Speaker 4: didn't like as much. Episode fourth I was compelling, Episode
- 6:31Speaker 4: five I thought was the sloppiest of the entire show.
- 6:34Speaker 4: Episode six saved it a bit for me, but it
- 6:36Speaker 4: felt extremely rushed. I I like where we went with
- 6:40Speaker 4: re Re and Mephisto, but I don't know if I
- 6:46Speaker 4: quite buy her immediately, you know what it was. There's
- 6:50Speaker 4: back and forth on whether or not she believes the
- 6:52Speaker 4: projection of Natalie is real, right, and it goes back
- 6:56Speaker 4: and forth with her, But I felt like I never
- 6:59Speaker 4: got a great consensus on where she was with it
- 7:02Speaker 4: until Natalie's actually gone, right, And at this point she
- 7:05Speaker 4: kind of has like an emotional freak out and she's
- 7:09Speaker 4: trying to grasp onto any form of Natalie that she can,
- 7:12Speaker 4: which is of course, ultimately how we get the decision
- 7:15Speaker 4: with the fist out. I don't think I buy the
- 7:18Speaker 4: emotional freak out because where last we left it, she
- 7:22Speaker 4: wasn't on board with the fact that this was any
- 7:25Speaker 4: sort of She was siding with Natalie's brother, right that like.
- 7:29Speaker 3: This is not this is not healthy, this is not real. Yeah,
- 7:34Speaker 3: they didn't, That's the way it seemed. Yeah, that did sell.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Hard, and it really her decision at the end definitely
- 7:41Speaker 2: felt rushed, Like getting to that decision right to basically
- 7:45Speaker 2: make a deal with the devil and bring back her friend,
- 7:49Speaker 2: to bring her friend back to life, which that opens
- 7:51Speaker 2: up so many doors in the MCU. Now we're talking
- 7:52Speaker 2: about like like how alive are we talking like like
- 7:56Speaker 2: nothing happened, She's just back. No, no, no, weird.
- 8:01Speaker 1: Like symptoms or things like that.
- 8:03Speaker 2: Like I'm sure that that has to get explored maybe
- 8:06Speaker 2: at some point if they do another series or in
- 8:09Speaker 2: maybe a future movie.
- 8:10Speaker 1: Who knows.
- 8:11Speaker 2: So many questions come up from that, and they didn't
- 8:14Speaker 2: even sell it to us properly, so it's like a
- 8:17Speaker 2: little hard to wrap your head around, right, Like she
- 8:23Speaker 2: was just an AI, and from what we gathered, really
- 8:26Speaker 2: was on board with her being an AI, acknowledging that
- 8:29Speaker 2: it was weird that that's how the AI manifested itself.
- 8:32Speaker 2: But maybe there's in some way, maybe we'll find out
- 8:35Speaker 2: that Mephisto is the one who actually manifested the AI
- 8:39Speaker 2: to be that way, because yes, he wants her to
- 8:43Speaker 2: make the deal, and I think his long play obviously
- 8:46Speaker 2: was always her anyway, and so we might find out
- 8:50Speaker 2: that he's the one who actually made that AI app
- 8:54Speaker 2: happen in that way so that she would make this
- 8:56Speaker 2: deal that she ends up making.
- 8:57Speaker 1: At the end.
- 8:58Speaker 4: As soon as at theisode three teased Mephisto.
- 9:02Speaker 3: That's exactly where my mind went.
- 9:03Speaker 4: I was like, Oh, that's why this AI construct is weird.
- 9:07Speaker 3: That's why she doesn't know what this is.
- 9:10Speaker 2: It's how it happened, and how she can't figure out
- 9:13Speaker 2: how it happened, like this tech genius can't figure out why, like.
- 9:18Speaker 4: Right, And it also explains how Zelma when when Zelma
- 9:22Speaker 4: creates the spell over the new Ironheart suit and she's like,
- 9:25Speaker 4: there's always a cost. I don't know what it's gonna be,
- 9:26Speaker 4: but it'll be something, and it just happens to be
- 9:30Speaker 4: the AI construct, right, It feels it feels very convenient
- 9:34Speaker 4: that that was like the thing right.
- 9:36Speaker 1: That almost seals That almost seals the theory because like.
- 9:40Speaker 2: Magic canceled out the magic that was going on that
- 9:44Speaker 2: we we couldn't explain.
- 9:47Speaker 4: At the magic, or at least the magic took the
- 9:49Speaker 4: magic right, it latched out to something right right exactly,
- 9:52Speaker 4: That's the way it felt to me.
- 9:54Speaker 2: Dude, That almost seals that. That makes me think that's
- 9:57Speaker 2: a great point. That makes me think that that's exactly
- 10:00Speaker 2: the bigger picture for sure.
- 10:05Speaker 4: While we're on the topic of Memphisto, who is ultimately
- 10:08Speaker 4: like our granddaddy villain of the show and who presumably
- 10:13Speaker 4: Marvel has more plans for, although that feels weird with
- 10:16Speaker 4: like Phase six and Doomsday right around the corner, Sasha
- 10:21Speaker 4: Baron Cohen. So this was slightly spoiled for me because
- 10:26Speaker 4: I accidentally saw like that. I guess it's not a
- 10:28Speaker 4: huge spoiler because like they announced he was in the
- 10:30Speaker 4: casting well before, like he made his appearance. But when
- 10:33Speaker 4: I saw that, I got so excited. I was like, Oh,
- 10:37Speaker 4: that feels like a really strictly from an artistic standpoy.
- 10:41Speaker 4: That felt like a really great choice and like watching
- 10:43Speaker 4: him do it. I don't know how you felt about Nick.
- 10:45Speaker 4: I really liked his performance of changing the accents up.
- 10:49Speaker 4: He felt menacing, he felt fun like, Yeah, felt the
- 10:52Speaker 4: way I want the devil to be.
- 10:55Speaker 1: Yeah, he crushed that.
- 10:56Speaker 2: That was fantastic. I have no notes for him there.
- 11:00Speaker 2: He did such a good job. I really hope we
- 11:01Speaker 2: see him again and soon. You know that the problem
- 11:04Speaker 2: is it was such a small release for Marvel. They
- 11:06Speaker 2: barely promoted this thing. It felt like the show is
- 11:09Speaker 2: pretty solid. I think it's a cool weight to around
- 11:12Speaker 2: out Phase five, But like like you said, I don't
- 11:20Speaker 2: think with this, Yeah, what's next? Like, are we going
- 11:23Speaker 2: to see them in any of these Avengers films? It
- 11:24Speaker 2: doesn't feel like that at all. I don't think we do. So,
- 11:27Speaker 2: like when is the next time we see Ironheart and Mephisto, Like, yes,
- 11:33Speaker 2: Mephisto could show up in another series right now that
- 11:36Speaker 2: they tease him, that's probably more likely. We probably see
- 11:39Speaker 2: him before we see Ironheart again.
- 11:42Speaker 4: I can definitely see it happening in like the White
- 11:43Speaker 4: Vision show that's supposed to happen. Yeah, possible, but it's
- 11:49Speaker 4: only because that's supposed White Vision is supposed to be like.
- 11:53Speaker 3: The end of the trilogy for wand Division right.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Along in White Visions right completion.
- 12:03Speaker 4: I'm pretty sure Mephisto got a name drop in Agatha
- 12:06Speaker 4: all along, So like feels like if he's gonna reappear anywhere,
- 12:09Speaker 4: that's probably where it's gonna happen.
- 12:11Speaker 2: Yeah, that makes sense, but like, yeah, it's still just
- 12:14Speaker 2: leaves so many questions about where Ironheart's story is going.
- 12:18Speaker 2: And man like she wants to do good, but eventually,
- 12:22Speaker 2: if you do too many bad things, it's just too
- 12:25Speaker 2: hard to come back from, you know, And she's now
- 12:27Speaker 2: on that track to where she's gonna have to do
- 12:30Speaker 2: things that are that are against her will because she's
- 12:33Speaker 2: made a deal with the devil, and so like this
- 12:36Speaker 2: is why to me, it's like hero or villain. And yeah,
- 12:39Speaker 2: she might not be a full blown villain yet, but
- 12:41Speaker 2: she is trending in that direction more than she is
- 12:43Speaker 2: trending in the hero direction.
- 12:44Speaker 4: So, Dick, never before on this show have I agreed
- 12:47Speaker 4: with you so much. And I don't know if the
- 12:50Speaker 4: show is gonna is gonna actually let this happen, because like, yeah,
- 12:53Speaker 4: the deal with the devil not a great look, bad
- 12:55Speaker 4: look right going out, you know, stealing things with uh,
- 12:59Speaker 4: you know, with with Chicago thugs not a good look.
- 13:02Speaker 3: Leaving someone for dead.
- 13:05Speaker 4: Right, Like that's I mean, I don't want to say
- 13:10Speaker 4: that she straight up like murdered him, but like, like
- 13:15Speaker 4: you know, it was very much like it's It's a
- 13:18Speaker 4: scene at the end of Batman begins, right where he's like,
- 13:20Speaker 4: I don't what did he say. He's like, I don't
- 13:23Speaker 4: have to save you, or no, I don't have to
- 13:25Speaker 4: beat you, but I don't have to.
- 13:26Speaker 3: Save you either, Like is that the line? Yeah?
- 13:29Speaker 4: Something, yeah, but like he knew what he was doing,
- 13:35Speaker 4: and I thought that there were gonna be some real
- 13:37Speaker 4: consequences for that, and basically our our secondary villain, Zeke
- 13:42Speaker 4: ultimately takes the fall for this and Reary is washed
- 13:47Speaker 4: of this almost immediately, which.
- 13:52Speaker 2: Speaking of like literally zero consequences. But to transition real
- 13:55Speaker 2: quick to Ezekiel, we got Ezekiel's stand like.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Such a to me, it is such a random reveal.
- 14:02Speaker 3: To get right that Stain is like involved in this.
- 14:06Speaker 1: Yeah, the Stain is involved. And it's played by.
- 14:11Speaker 2: All then Iran and Reich whatever his name is, Hans
- 14:15Speaker 2: Solo basically Young thank you, Alden, Aaron Rich like.
- 14:21Speaker 1: I I like him a lot.
- 14:22Speaker 2: I actually liked him in Han Solo, so it was
- 14:25Speaker 2: really cool to see him randomly.
- 14:26Speaker 1: In the show.
- 14:27Speaker 2: Like I did not look at the casting beforehand, so
- 14:29Speaker 2: to me, it was like a total surprise.
- 14:30Speaker 1: So I enjoyed it.
- 14:33Speaker 2: And at first I was like, oh cool, they're gonna,
- 14:35Speaker 2: They're gonna she's gonna he's gonna have a another.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Tech ask like genius to help her like build.
- 14:45Speaker 2: Her team out, you know, and then he just ends
- 14:47Speaker 2: up being like borderline mentally unstable as well. It's like
- 14:52Speaker 2: like his father was, you know, and it just all
- 14:55Speaker 2: of a sudden, he becomes this bionic.
- 14:57Speaker 1: Man, you know, and just.
- 15:00Speaker 2: It just got a little that got a little weird
- 15:01Speaker 2: for me, Like I was like, wait, what are we doing?
- 15:03Speaker 2: Like they I wanted this was actually partner.
- 15:07Speaker 3: Yeah, they were gonna.
- 15:09Speaker 1: Criminal Sorry, sorry, no, I'm done.
- 15:13Speaker 3: I agree.
- 15:14Speaker 4: I thought that we were gonna do something more interesting
- 15:16Speaker 4: with him other than h you know, have him go
- 15:18Speaker 4: down the.
- 15:19Speaker 3: Obvious like villain role.
- 15:21Speaker 4: I I kind of liked their dynamic when he's just
- 15:23Speaker 4: you know, this goofy, bumbling guy who's got you know, aspirations,
- 15:28Speaker 4: and she's kind of helping him break out of that shell.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Right.
- 15:31Speaker 4: I thought that was interesting episode five where he's like,
- 15:34Speaker 4: I'm gonna beat you up. Like I I sort of
- 15:39Speaker 4: get like his anger, but I don't know, there's a
- 15:42Speaker 4: lot about episode five that just like did not work
- 15:44Speaker 4: for me. The White Castle fight actually kind of enjoyed.
- 15:49Speaker 4: I was really creative, It was really neat. It sort
- 15:53Speaker 4: of reminded me of like I would Tony Stark react
- 15:55Speaker 4: without his armor? Right, Like that felt to me that
- 15:58Speaker 4: felt more like this is the air apparent of Tony
- 16:01Speaker 4: Stark than like anything else that she's done, right, which
- 16:04Speaker 4: is nothing against the character. I just there are times
- 16:07Speaker 4: where I see Williams and like I get that she
- 16:09Speaker 4: admires h iron Man, right, Uh, but like I've never
- 16:13Speaker 4: seen I've never been able to see her at least
- 16:15Speaker 4: in the MCU as the heir apparent with like you know,
- 16:18Speaker 4: her relations to like Wakanda and like really no one else, right, Like,
- 16:24Speaker 4: but that scene, I was like, yeah, that's a tony
- 16:26Speaker 4: thing to do.
- 16:27Speaker 2: Love that very resourceful like and that scene, right, that
- 16:31Speaker 2: was very cool?
- 16:32Speaker 4: Yeah, but uh yeah that that fight with uh with
- 16:37Speaker 4: Zeke It it's it's weird. I hate how fast he's upgraded,
- 16:40Speaker 4: Like it's weirdly fast.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Uh.
- 16:42Speaker 3: Time like did not matter in that episode like at all.
- 16:46Speaker 4: Yeah, Yeah, and for him to just be like I'm
- 16:49Speaker 4: tripping with power and I'm gonna beat you up and
- 16:52Speaker 4: it seems like he's going for the killer and he's
- 16:53Speaker 4: just like, I don't want to beat you up that bad,
- 16:55Speaker 4: It's okay, rights, Like what.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Learning dude, don't you know?
- 17:00Speaker 2: And and then they like forced him to be evil
- 17:03Speaker 2: with the mind control thing.
- 17:04Speaker 3: And I will say I thought the mind control thing
- 17:06Speaker 3: was actually kind of funny.
- 17:08Speaker 4: It's silly considering like how dark the implication actually is right,
- 17:14Speaker 4: but Alden's Alden's acting in that is is hilarious.
- 17:19Speaker 3: It's it's really really good.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Yeah, he does a great job there for sure.
- 17:23Speaker 3: Crazy.
- 17:24Speaker 2: Uh yeah, So I don't know what else is on
- 17:28Speaker 2: your on your on your mind, on your list.
- 17:31Speaker 4: When I saw Anthony Ramos was going to be the
- 17:34Speaker 4: hood in this show, that surprised me, and at first
- 17:37Speaker 4: I was like, oh, I don't buy this. Anthony Ramos,
- 17:40Speaker 4: at least for me, very famous for like Hamilton or
- 17:43Speaker 4: in the Heights, So I felt very weird about that
- 17:45Speaker 4: at first. But dude's got a lot of charisma, and
- 17:49Speaker 4: for the most part, I think he really nailed it
- 17:51Speaker 4: for me. I think his character was written in really
- 17:55Speaker 4: weird ways, like he's ultimately just a pissed off NEPO
- 17:58Speaker 4: baby and and like I was like, oh, that's not
- 18:01Speaker 4: as interesting as I was hoping that he would be,
- 18:03Speaker 4: and like he's just driven by money, and it's like, well,
- 18:05Speaker 4: that's yeah, he just this character is, Yeah.
- 18:09Speaker 1: He's the He's Mephisto's pond. Just to get to reread
- 18:12Speaker 1: basically like he's just that's all he is.
- 18:14Speaker 4: And I hope that this is what it is, that
- 18:17Speaker 4: this this idea that we're coming up with that like
- 18:19Speaker 4: that he's just that there's a greater plan that Mephisto
- 18:23Speaker 4: has had in store for re re Rate. Yeah, and
- 18:25Speaker 4: like the Hood was his way of getting there. I
- 18:28Speaker 4: think I hope that's what it is.
- 18:29Speaker 1: I think it's a I think it's pretty clear, especially
- 18:32Speaker 1: after everything we just talked about. And now she.
- 18:34Speaker 2: Also has the Hood, which, like, I mean, she is
- 18:37Speaker 2: trending into just being a villain. I the more I
- 18:40Speaker 2: talk about this now, I'm just like, I don't think
- 18:42Speaker 2: she might not do another good thing ever again, Like
- 18:45Speaker 2: the chips are stacked against her from being a hero
- 18:48Speaker 2: and that's disappointing because she's awesome and I want her
- 18:51Speaker 2: to be a hero.
- 18:51Speaker 1: And I don't know, man, I just don't know.
- 18:54Speaker 3: She is awesome.
- 18:56Speaker 4: I I really enjoy uh. I really enjoyed her humor
- 19:01Speaker 4: in this show. I think some of my favorite scenes
- 19:04Speaker 4: were just watching Rerea and Natalie talk. They were great together.
- 19:11Speaker 4: We haven't talked about the music on this show. I've
- 19:14Speaker 4: freaking loved the music on this show. One of my
- 19:16Speaker 4: favorite lines is from is from Zeke when he says,
- 19:19Speaker 4: at least will always have a lotis altas elenas elenas Morsett,
- 19:23Speaker 4: I say her first name.
- 19:24Speaker 3: I never get this right.
- 19:25Speaker 1: Alanis Marsett a lotus at least will always have a
- 19:28Speaker 1: lot of it.
- 19:29Speaker 3: It's like that. That was hilarious. I love that.
- 19:33Speaker 2: Yeah, the music was great, Marvel, Yeah crushed it. Soundtrack
- 19:39Speaker 2: score done by Dara Taylor.
- 19:42Speaker 1: I looked her up.
- 19:43Speaker 2: Honestly, I don't think the other thing she's done. She's
- 19:46Speaker 2: done a lot of other stuff, but nothing that I
- 19:48Speaker 2: don't think.
- 19:48Speaker 1: I've even seen.
- 19:50Speaker 2: So I love when I watched something and the score
- 19:54Speaker 2: is noticeable and then you look up the person You're like,
- 19:56Speaker 2: this is someone I don't think I've been introduced to.
- 19:59Speaker 2: So just a really cool way to get introduced to
- 20:01Speaker 2: another composer basically like or you know, puts together the
- 20:05Speaker 2: soundtracks and all these things.
- 20:06Speaker 1: So that was cool, great call out for sure.
- 20:09Speaker 4: I have one last thing I got to bring up,
- 20:11Speaker 4: and I think it's it is, for me, probably the
- 20:14Speaker 4: biggest like flaw in the show, and I think it's
- 20:17Speaker 4: like almost laughable. I want to preface this by saying
- 20:21Speaker 4: I do like this show, but there is some logic
- 20:24Speaker 4: here that doesn't make any sense and it is so dumb.
- 20:27Speaker 3: In my perspective, right, So, like.
- 20:31Speaker 4: Rear has to understand God, this goes twofold. Actually all right,
- 20:34Speaker 4: So re Rey is upset that the Hood could figure
- 20:39Speaker 4: out that she is responsible or she wants to get out, right,
- 20:43Speaker 4: she wants to get out of the gang, and she's
- 20:44Speaker 4: afraid of the Hood.
- 20:45Speaker 3: So she's got a she got to try and figure
- 20:47Speaker 3: out his power set.
- 20:49Speaker 4: And to do this, she's got to cut cut the
- 20:51Speaker 4: cape right on this plan, right, She cuts the cape,
- 20:54Speaker 4: tries to dissect the cape.
- 20:55Speaker 3: Eventually goes Selma's almost like, yo, you gotta get rid
- 20:57Speaker 3: of that.
- 20:58Speaker 4: That cape is wild, and her mom is like, yo,
- 21:00Speaker 4: you gotta destroy that. I'm not gonna tell you how,
- 21:03Speaker 4: but you gotta destroy that, right, And then we get
- 21:06Speaker 4: this montage of her like trying to like destroy the cape.
- 21:11Speaker 4: Nick she cut the cape with a laser and she
- 21:16Speaker 4: can't figure out how to destroy.
- 21:19Speaker 3: Use the laser. What do you mean you can't figure
- 21:20Speaker 3: this out? Just use the layer? It worked. Just use
- 21:23Speaker 3: the laser. Just use the laser.
- 21:25Speaker 4: You don't even eat magic. Just use your science apparently
- 21:28Speaker 4: is better than magic.
- 21:29Speaker 3: Use the laser.
- 21:30Speaker 4: I don't understand the logic of this at all. And
- 21:33Speaker 4: She's like, I don't know what I'm gonna do. I
- 21:35Speaker 4: need to fight magic with magic. It's like, no, just
- 21:36Speaker 4: use science. Just science apparently kicks this things gass.
- 21:39Speaker 1: That's such a mean flaw. Oh god, dude, Yeah, that
- 21:46Speaker 1: that sucks. Actually I didn't even think about that, right.
- 21:48Speaker 3: It totally takes the tension out of that.
- 21:52Speaker 2: The montage scene was fun. I love a good montage scene.
- 21:54Speaker 2: But actually, now that you've mentioned that, it.
- 21:57Speaker 1: Makes no sense.
- 21:58Speaker 3: It doesn't make any sense. Just use the lazer makes
- 22:00Speaker 3: no sense.
- 22:01Speaker 1: Yeah, that sucks. That ship they should they should have
- 22:05Speaker 1: set it up somehow and just been like, how are
- 22:08Speaker 1: you even able to cut this?
- 22:09Speaker 2: This is not penetrable, you know, some something like that,
- 22:12Speaker 2: and then went.
- 22:13Speaker 1: To the montage scene.
- 22:14Speaker 2: It maybe they could have easily made it unexplainable. H Well,
- 22:20Speaker 2: that's gonna bother me for the rest.
- 22:22Speaker 3: It kind of ruins so much of the show honestly.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Okay, well, uh, the show's ruined.
- 22:32Speaker 3: Also.
- 22:33Speaker 4: Okay, so now that we're really like taking our shots
- 22:35Speaker 4: at the show, okay, real quick here, so like really
- 22:37Speaker 4: like is worried about like what the Hood can do,
- 22:40Speaker 4: and like, to be fair, maybe maybe you know she's
- 22:42Speaker 4: trying to take this from every angle.
- 22:43Speaker 3: She's like magic.
- 22:43Speaker 4: I don't understand magic. Who knows what he's capable of? However,
- 22:47Speaker 4: we we as the audience, sworre to do. By the
- 22:48Speaker 4: time we get to the climax, you can turn invisible
- 22:51Speaker 4: and he can curve bolts. Eventually he kind of has
- 22:54Speaker 4: super string too. She has a metal suit that shoots lasers.
- 22:59Speaker 4: I don't know if he's invisible. Just throw a flower,
- 23:01Speaker 4: like every cartoon does it, Like, what are we so
- 23:05Speaker 4: afraid of here? Like, you're in a middle suit again,
- 23:08Speaker 4: science wins, Like, just use science?
- 23:12Speaker 3: Am I crazy?
- 23:13Speaker 1: You're not crazy, You're just.
- 23:15Speaker 2: We've reached the nippicking point of the episode.
- 23:20Speaker 3: Yeah, you're right. I got nothing else to say.
- 23:23Speaker 1: List and that that's what the magic was for. They
- 23:25Speaker 1: used the magic and then he wasn't invisible anymore.
- 23:27Speaker 4: That was That was sick. When when she lights him
- 23:30Speaker 4: up on radar, that was that was awesome.
- 23:32Speaker 1: Yeah that was cool.
- 23:34Speaker 2: Oh hey, yeah, I got nothing else, But we gotta
- 23:39Speaker 2: rate it.
- 23:41Speaker 1: Well, we will rate it. We will rate it seven
- 23:45Speaker 1: point four.
- 23:46Speaker 4: Yeah, I'd give it a seven. Yeah, I watch it again. Yeah,
- 23:50Speaker 4: that was I thought it was mostly pretty solid outside
- 23:52Speaker 4: of a. You know, maybe if I watch it again
- 23:54Speaker 4: with the laser thing in mind, maybe it'll go lower.
- 23:56Speaker 4: But like over all first watch, I give a seven.
- 23:58Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely watchable. Fun way to end phase five. Hope
- 24:02Speaker 2: we see some of these characters again and Ironheart is
- 24:07Speaker 2: a villain.
- 24:07Speaker 1: That's it.
- 24:08Speaker 3: That's what I got.
- 24:13Speaker 4: Doomsday Weary Williams, my goodness, anything else.
- 24:23Speaker 1: On your end?
- 24:24Speaker 3: No, that's it for me. Bad. I enjoyed the show,
- 24:27Speaker 3: Go watch the show awesome well.
- 24:30Speaker 2: Coming up next, of course, big release Superman and then
- 24:34Speaker 2: followed by the Fantastic Four First Steps, So.
