  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I heard about this over the weekend, and we had to do a little bit of work with this before we brought it to you guys, or maybe you've seen this.

  SPEAKER_02: Um the overall arcing part of this story is it's scary, and you just need to hear what's going on.

  SPEAKER_01: So, this is a human trafficking uh situation that happened.

  SPEAKER_01: There has been four locations, but one of them that I'm gonna play the audio for you here in a second, happened at Burlington and Big Flats.

  SPEAKER_01: So it says the incidents described below have been reported to the Southern Tier Human Trafficking Task Force and are being evaluated as possible attempted abduction cases based on the information that has been shared so far.

  SPEAKER_01: This woman who's talking on her TikTok uh is from Johnson City, and she talks about going to a smaller uh Burlington.

  SPEAKER_01: So I'm assuming she's talking about ours.

  SPEAKER_01: And then she basically says, I bring my my six kids to Burlington.

  SPEAKER_01: This woman's getting a little too close, shopping around us the entire time, kind of thought it was weird, but okay, maybe we're just uh we're shopping in the same aisles.

  SPEAKER_01: Anyway, I'm gonna pick it up right here.

  SPEAKER_00: And then we went to go to the checkout line and she followed us there as well.

  SPEAKER_00: And so I told her, like, oh, go ahead and pass, like, we're just gonna mingle and look here.

  SPEAKER_00: Like, oh, what a cute baby you have.

  SPEAKER_00: And I was like, Oh yeah, like thanks, like that's sweet, carry on.

  SPEAKER_00: And she just kept like lingering around and everything.

  SPEAKER_00: And she went back up, started to check out, came back over a third time, and this time she put her hands on uh Maggie's shoulders, and Maggie is five.

  SPEAKER_00: Um, and she goes, Oh hey, little girl, like I only have boys, but I could really use a girl.

  SPEAKER_00: Can you come home with me?

  SPEAKER_00: And Maggie turned around and like started yelling at her, and she goes, No, you're weird.

  SPEAKER_00: I like my family better.

  SPEAKER_01: Okay, I'm gonna stop right there.

  SPEAKER_01: So then the spark you the cashier said, Do you know that lady?

  SPEAKER_01: And she said, No, I don't know that lady.

  SPEAKER_01: Okay, well, uh, I know that we don't have security, so I'm gonna walk you out with your bags since you have all your children, and just as like a safety precaution.

  SPEAKER_00: And I'll grab your bags and act like I'm just here, like helping you carry it out.

  SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, I'm pretty sure it's the one that's being blocked in by that van right there.

  SPEAKER_00: That lady in the passenger side seat, and she's got a guy in the car with her, and they're literally like parked at the tail end of my car to the point that like I I couldn't have pulled out to leave even if I wanted to.

  SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.

  SPEAKER_01: So this then we're gonna go into her calling the cops.

  SPEAKER_00: 911, I'm talking to them.

  SPEAKER_00: The lady is reading off the license plate to me, and I'm reciting it back um to the person on 911.

  SPEAKER_00: So me and the kids got back out, went inside, and I was standing at the car because I wanted to see, or I mean at the door, because I wanted to see when the officers arrived.

  SPEAKER_00: At this point, like I'm freaking out.

  SPEAKER_00: The cops finally arrived.

  SPEAKER_00: I we explained everything to them.

  SPEAKER_00: So they offered to watch me walk into my car, and that was about it.

  SPEAKER_00: Before I even got them buckled up and got in the car myself, the cops had actually left.

  SPEAKER_00: So I drove to one of our local police departments who at least like looked around my car and made sure that everything like appeared okay from the outside.

  SPEAKER_02: She's made some very smart choices thus far.

  SPEAKER_02: I have to give the credit where credit is due.

  SPEAKER_02: There's only one because I'm also thinking, My God, if you have six kids, I mean if one of them, you know, disappeared, would you notice?

  SPEAKER_01: Um there's one last little piece of body.

  SPEAKER_00: And I ended up taking my kids to a hotel that night because I just I don't know.

  SPEAKER_00: I felt like even if they found my car at that point, they wouldn't know what room I was in.

  SPEAKER_00: I just didn't feel very good since Adam wasn't home.

  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so that was the other thing.

  SPEAKER_01: Her husband wasn't home while this was going on.

  SPEAKER_01: And and there was uh the just more on that story.

  SPEAKER_01: There was two women who ended up talking to her.

  SPEAKER_01: The whole thing is super sketch.

  SPEAKER_02: Okay, so did the cops end up getting these people or dealing with these people and you said a brown van?

  SPEAKER_01: Not that I know of at all.

  SPEAKER_01: I really wish they would have followed her home or at least gotten her because she lives in Johnson City.

  SPEAKER_01: So at least gotten her a little bit away and then maybe re- or taken her to the police station first.

  SPEAKER_02: I'd actually just like them to run the license plate and make a visit and be like, could you give us the what for?

  SPEAKER_01: Exactly, exactly.

  SPEAKER_01: That that's the part I didn't like how it was handled.

  SPEAKER_01: We need to take this more seriously.

  SPEAKER_02: But then again, I don't know.

  SPEAKER_02: She she made some smart on-the-fly decisions to you know get some help and and maybe not to her satisfaction, but she was she was thinking.

  SPEAKER_02: Um I I have a question, believe it or not, about human trafficking in a minute, because you said this is being shared now, this is out and about.
