Latest / The Slippery Slope / AusAlert! Should We Be Alarmed?
Transcript
- 0:10Hi Jay Fallon, thanks for listening to The Slippery Slope.
- 0:13So today I want to talk about Oz Alert.
- 0:15There's a few videos getting around social media really in my
- 0:22mind fear mongering in in some ways, but people talking about
- 0:26things and not, I don't think they're really considering
- 0:30everything about it. And we've got these people.
- 0:33This seems to be a thing, especially in Australia, I think
- 0:37as people want to bury their head in the sand and all these
- 0:40people putting out this advice, what you should do, take out
- 0:43your SIM, turn your phone off, blah, blah, blah.
- 0:45Let's look at we'll look at one or two of these videos and then
- 0:48we'll go through the information that Oz alert on their website
- 0:51that they put out and have a bit of a, a talk about what I'll
- 0:55tell you what I think about it, but also what I think we should
- 0:59do about it, if anything. Let's have a look.
- 1:02Check out some of these videos on on this.
- 1:05OK, an update on Oz Alert. It's fucking freezing where I
- 1:08live this morning. I know I look like the biggest
- 1:10trooper in the comments of my previous video.
- 1:13I learned some good information. So number one, you can turn the
- 1:16Oz Alert notifications off in your phone.
- 1:19However, I don't think it applies to this one that's
- 1:22coming on the 27th of July. I think this one will still go
- 1:26off. It will override those
- 1:28notification settings, but still go and turn them off.
- 1:30So for iPhone and Android just go to your settings
- 1:34notifications, scroll right down to the bottom and you should see
- 1:39a little section at the bottom that says Oz alert and there's
- 1:43like 3 toggles there. Turn them all off.
- 1:45When the fuck did they put that? So sorry about the swearing, I
- 1:50just thought I'd just leave it in there.
- 1:51Just, you know, this is what she's put up.
- 1:53Look, First off, turning off notifications as if this is
- 1:58going to actually do anything at all.
- 2:02Will it actually do anything? Some of the, I want you to
- 2:04listen to the advice that this lady is giving and think what
- 2:07will this actually achieve? OK, and what are you trying to
- 2:11achieve? I want to look at this from a
- 2:14perspective of, of undergoing an operation, like from a policing
- 2:19perspective. You've got an idea of something
- 2:21happening and you're looking at it, but you need as much
- 2:24information as you can possibly glean.
- 2:27OK, so that's how I'm gonna be looking at it.
- 2:29Let's check. Keep going for what she's
- 2:31saying. At there for starters.
- 2:33I didn't know that was there. Sneaky fucking bastards aren't
- 2:35they? If that option isn't there
- 2:37because for some people I don't think it shows there, you can
- 2:41turn off your phone or put it into flight mode and you won't
- 2:44receive the alert. But if you turn your phone back
- 2:48on or turn it off flight mode within 24 hours it will still
- 2:52come through. There was also chat about if you
- 2:54took your SIM card out what would happen.
- 2:56I'm not sure to be honest. Best steps to take if you want
- 2:59to avoid it basically is to turn off all them notifications in
- 3:03your phone and then on the 27th of July at about 1:00 PM turn
- 3:07your phone off or turn it into flight mode and then don't put
- 3:09it back on until that 24 hour period has passed.
- 3:13I just want to say how fucking epic it is too to see so many
- 3:16people who are on the same page. It is so uplifting and it just
- 3:20makes me think that we are really fucking winning this
- 3:24shit. Big big changes are happening
- 3:26spiritually in terms of the consciousness of humanity
- 3:29raising and people waking up and realising the truth.
- 3:32And honestly, if you are one of the people in the comments
- 3:34telling me that I'm crazy or saying things like it's not that
- 3:38deep, read the comments from the people who are over in the UK,
- 3:41in Europe, where this has been happening for the last few
- 3:43years. Little things like this is how
- 3:45it starts. And look how fucking cooked
- 3:47those places are. Now that is where Australia is
- 3:49headed. Fucking good luck to you when
- 3:51the world looks like that fucking movie Equilibrium,
- 3:53because that's what's going to be like one day and you'll be
- 3:56fucking stuck in it. I'll be out here in the Bush,
- 3:58only contactable by pigeon, OK? And.
- 4:04OK, she finishes off with. She'll be out in the Bush, only
- 4:07contactable, you know, by carrier pigeon, whatever.
- 4:11So yeah, we've got all these posts.
- 4:12I'm gonna check out another check out what is what's this
- 4:15guy saying? Don't want the government in
- 4:18your phone for this emergency alarm?
- 4:21Turn it off. OK.
- 4:29OK, so let's have a look at what the actual website says.
- 4:33Understanding AUS alerts and the national test.
- 4:36I'll go through all of this, look at all the information that
- 4:38they've provided. Keep in mind that what that Lady
- 4:42in that previous video was talking about, we'll have a look
- 4:44at, we'll come to a few conclusions.
- 4:47I think it's understanding Oz Alert in the national test.
- 4:51Okay, so in October we're launching a new national
- 4:54emergency warning system, Oz Alerts.
- 4:58It's all in the name, people. It's all in the name, okay.
- 5:00Oz Alert will help inform Australians about local and
- 5:03national disasters, will allow authorities to reach people fast
- 5:08so Australians can act quickly to protect lives and property.
- 5:11In June we successfully tested the Oz Alert system in non
- 5:14communities across Australia. So it's already been tested.
- 5:18This is just, they've got an operation going and they're just
- 5:20running. They're just putting out probes
- 5:22going there and it'll go further and further.
- 5:24The probe gets wider and wider and then just checking if their
- 5:27system works. OK, so they've already tested
- 5:32it. 9 communities across Australia on Monday, the 27th of
- 5:36July. This is the one that everyone on
- 5:37social media is talking about, 27th of July.
- 5:39We'll take the next step, testing the system nationally at
- 5:44around 2:00 PM Australian Eastern Standard Time with the
- 5:46test critical alert sent at the same time to all compatible
- 5:51devices around the country. We recently busted some myths
- 5:54about Oz Alert and I'll have a look at that for a second.
- 5:57OK, so here's some facts. So one myth, only the newest
- 6:00devices can receive Oz alerts. So it says Oz alerts work on
- 6:04many mobile phones, tablets, and smartwatches.
- 6:07Compatible devices don't need a working SIM.
- 6:12It doesn't need a working SIM to receive alerts.
- 6:16OS alerts are expected to work on your iPhone 11 and up running
- 6:20the iOS 26.4 or later. Apple Watches SE 2 SE Three
- 6:26Series 6 Android devices running Android 12 or later.
- 6:30Older phones and phones that don't use iOS or Android may
- 6:34still they may still receive OS alerts.
- 6:38Apple iPads will not receive OS alerts.
- 6:43Myth so 1 here fact updating your device software helps you
- 6:48to be Oz alert ready so a myth you don't need to update your
- 6:51device to receive Oz alerts so that's a myth fact you can
- 6:56receive Oz alerts no matter what carrier you're with.
- 7:00So the myth that's been get around you can only receive Oz
- 7:03alerts sent by your telecommunications provider.
- 7:06So Oz alert uses cell broadcast technology.
- 7:10This is very important if you thinking you want to avoid all
- 7:13this. OK.
- 7:14It only uses cell broadcast technology, overactive 4G and 5G
- 7:18mobile network. It is designed to be carrier
- 7:22agnostic so you can receive alerts regardless of your
- 7:26telecommunications provider. For example Telstra, Optus,
- 7:30Vodafone. If your device is compatible and
- 7:33can connect to a network, you can receive alerts even without
- 7:38a working SIM, even without a working SIM.
- 7:42So the another fact, we're testing how the AUS Alert system
- 7:45works with assistive technology. So if you might have hearing
- 7:49aids and all that, you know, these cochlear implants, things
- 7:53like that and they all, they all connect, connect to Wi-Fi and
- 7:58things like that sort of work even on Braille systems and AUS
- 8:01Alert may wake your screen, vibrate and display a message
- 8:06about the emergency. Make a loud siren like sound
- 8:10which might be heard through compatible hearing aids or
- 8:13cochlear implants. Read the message aloud if text
- 8:17to speech is set on your mobile device and work with assistive
- 8:21technologies such as refreshable Braille devices.
- 8:25Testing is ongoing, feedback from users of Assistive
- 8:30technology is valuable. Another fact, you can find
- 8:33dedicated information and resources about the Oz Alert
- 8:36system. Now I just want to go to the
- 8:39next. They've got some some other
- 8:42myths that they talk about here. I think this is very important.
- 8:48Myth 1OZ Alert is just another SMS. So the myth is that Oz
- 8:52Alert works the same way as text messages.
- 8:54So the fact is Ozil it uses cell broadcast technology which works
- 8:58very differently to SMS. Cell broadcast sends messages
- 9:03directly from mobile towers. So from the towers OK to
- 9:08compatible devices in a defined area.
- 9:11This means messages arrive almost instantly.
- 9:15Alerts still work when mobile networks are congested.
- 9:20Messages appear like a system notification, not a text, and
- 9:24alerts show on locked screens and during phone use because it
- 9:30uses a dedicated channel. Myth 2.
- 9:34You have to sign up or download an app.
- 9:36People need to opt in. This is a myth.
- 9:38Download something or register. Nah, no action is required.
- 9:42They've already signed everyone up.
- 9:44Myth 3 Ozalert tracks your location or personal data.
- 9:48So from what I gather, this is what everyone is talking about.
- 9:51This is what everyone thinks. Ozalert needs to know who you
- 9:57are or where you are. So the fact is it does not
- 10:00collect or store your mobile phone number or location.
- 10:05It doesn't need to because they've already got all that
- 10:06information. So cell broadcast works through
- 10:10mobile towers, not GPS, not GPS or customer databases.
- 10:17One of the Security benefits of Oz Alert is that no personal
- 10:21data is required to send messages.
- 10:24This helps protect you from scams.
- 10:26So we'll come back to this in a second.
- 10:27OK, so Oz Alert is run by the Australian government and is
- 10:32safe and secure. Is that an oxymoron?
- 10:40Anyway, only authorised emergency services organisations
- 10:44and Australian government agencies can send those alerts.
- 10:47So as we all know and we can trust, we can trust the
- 10:53Australian Government. I personally absolutely have
- 10:56absolute faith and trust in the Australian Government and I
- 11:00absolutely trust that only authorised emergency services or
- 11:04organisations and Australian government organisations, I
- 11:08absolutely trust them. Absolutely.
- 11:11Ozalert will never ask for personal or financial
- 11:14information. OK, so let's go back here.
- 11:17The cell broadcast works through mobile towers, not GPS or
- 11:20customer databases. One of the secure Security
- 11:23benefits, no personal data is required to send messages.
- 11:29From from what I've read, it seems like, OK, they're not
- 11:32going to store information, they're not going to store your
- 11:34personal data. And they're saying only
- 11:38authorised emergency service organisations and agencies can
- 11:43send OS alerts. And it's run by the Australian
- 11:45government. It doesn't mean that an
- 11:48individual or an agency, someone working within an individual
- 11:52working within an agency can't say, hey, we need to find we
- 11:57need to find Jay Fallon. We're going to use this system.
- 12:01And OK, we don't have his personal data because it's not
- 12:04stored on the system. But we already know his personal
- 12:07data. We haven't been able to track
- 12:08him from from other ways. So let's use this.
- 12:12I'm just saying this, this could still be used and to track.
- 12:17And then as soon as it picks up that you've seen the message,
- 12:21you've you've opened your phone or you've answered the message,
- 12:24they might send you a message and you might a personal message
- 12:27and you might answer it. They can say, well, it's pinging
- 12:30from this tower. It's coming from this tower.
- 12:32He's within this area. Send out the boys and go and
- 12:35pick him up. This is what happens.
- 12:36Now let's going back to what to what this lady and other people
- 12:41have been saying about turning your phone off, you know, taking
- 12:45a SIM out, turning the phone off turn it.
- 12:47I've heard one person say, you know, turn your phone off at
- 12:50this time. Don't turn it off till this
- 12:52time. You know what that Lady pull up
- 12:54with at the end? She'll be sitting out in the
- 12:57middle of you know, the desert with the phone off only
- 13:02contactable by carrier pigeon. I personally, and now if you
- 13:08don't know, I was a police officer and I was, I was
- 13:11actually, I spent most of my time doing covert surveillance,
- 13:15covert surveillance, physical surveillance, OK, I was a
- 13:19physical surveillance officer, police officer seconded into the
- 13:23physical surveillance realm. And that was most of my time in
- 13:26in the policing, policing world. So I know how to track people.
- 13:30I know how to physically track and what what methods are used.
- 13:36I'm not going to go into methodology just in case anyone
- 13:39sitting to go on Jay don't talk about methodology.
- 13:41I'm not going to go into that. Okay, methodology for that is
- 13:44very different. However, when you're doing this,
- 13:48people are so worried and they're like, turn off your
- 13:52phone. How dare they put this thing on
- 13:54their phone. You know, they're able to track
- 13:55US. They're going to use it to
- 13:56track. The government can already track
- 13:58you if they want. If they want to track an
- 14:00individual, if they want to find an individual, they can already
- 14:03do it already. OK, So this whole notion that if
- 14:07I turn off my phone, if I opt out, if I get rid of the app or
- 14:10the notifications, I don't understand this whole well, it's
- 14:16it's like people just adamant they want to bury their head in
- 14:19the sand and pretend that they can get around the system.
- 14:22You can't get around the system that it's the system.
- 14:26It's bigger than you. If anything, you want to
- 14:29approach it completely opposite way, completely opposite
- 14:34everything that that Lady said in that video.
- 14:36Do the exact opposite. That's what I would be doing OK,
- 14:40if I believed in conspiracy theories and if I didn't have
- 14:45such a deep rooted love and trust for the Australian
- 14:48government to protect me in my safety, this is what I would be
- 14:52doing. Everything that she said, I'd do
- 14:55the exact opposite. I would leave my phone on.
- 14:58I would gather as much information from all the other
- 15:01people around me that I knew. I would go and find out
- 15:03beforehand what phones do other do friends of mine have, whether
- 15:08it's iPhones, Google phones, Samsung's, what networks do they
- 15:13run or what's that Chinese phone?
- 15:16Hawaii, Hawaii, however you say it, you know all those phones.
- 15:19I would find out who do I know with all these different phones?
- 15:23Who do I know on every different network that we have in
- 15:25Australia? Who do I know living in all
- 15:29different areas across Australia?
- 15:31And then everyone, let's all turn our phones on and let's
- 15:36find out who this works for, who received the information, who
- 15:41actually. And then you need to put collate
- 15:44all that information, gather all the information that you can and
- 15:48work out who who the phone, who this system works, what
- 15:52networks, what devices it actually works on and what
- 15:56devices it doesn't work on, what area it picked up and what area
- 16:01it didn't pick up. You know, you want as much
- 16:04information. This, it drives me nuts,
- 16:10Australians that think that they can just bury their flipping
- 16:13head in the sand and try and ignore it, turn their device off
- 16:17or whatever, because it's not just this instance.
- 16:20We, I see people do it all the time.
- 16:21We just bury a head in the sand. We need to gather as much
- 16:25information as possible. If you want to know what you
- 16:29are, if you are what you're up against, you need information.
- 16:35Information is power. Information is what you need,
- 16:40and you need as much information.
- 16:42If you're concerned about it, you need as much information as
- 16:46you can possibly have. Because if you just turn your
- 16:48phone off and bury your head in the sand and think, well, I just
- 16:51don't want to get involved. That's the reason why Australia
- 16:56is in the situation that we're in now, because people just bury
- 16:59their head in the flippant sand and they put up silly posts on
- 17:02Facebook and they say, oh look, this is what you can do.
- 17:04Oh, look, everyone's giving me this information.
- 17:06Read all the information. The Australian government gives
- 17:10all the information. They give all the information.
- 17:13OK, read all the information. Take it all in and gather it and
- 17:17then come to your own conclusions and work out the
- 17:20best way. If you're so worried about it,
- 17:24then you work out the best way that you can.
- 17:26If you want to get around it, get around it or the best way
- 17:29that you can use it to help you. This notion that you can get
- 17:36around it and that you can live outside outside of technology.
- 17:41If you want to live outside of outside of technology and not be
- 17:46tracked and you have to completely cut everything off,
- 17:51everything, everything off and live like a hermit out in the
- 17:55middle of nowhere and they'll still find you.
- 17:57They'll still track you down. Unfortunately.
- 18:01You know, I hear people talking about stuff and like they say,
- 18:05well, you know, I just don't use my phone.
- 18:07I'll use it from there. I'll I'll give you an example,
- 18:09OK? People think that if they travel
- 18:12and they don't take phone calls, they'll turn their phone off
- 18:17when they leave. Let's just say I live in the
- 18:19wood Sundays and I'm someone who's trying to avoid, avoid
- 18:25people avoid an organisation tracking me.
- 18:28So I'll turn my phone off and I'll drive all the way down to
- 18:30Brisbane. I don't turn my phone on until I
- 18:32get to Brisbane. The thing is.
- 18:36And and when I get to Brisbane, no one calls me, no one sends me
- 18:40messages. The thing is, my phone, as soon
- 18:42as you turned on an app, one of my apps, whether I wanted to or
- 18:47not, one of my apps is going to do like a little handshake with
- 18:50one of the cell towers around in that vicinity.
- 18:53And the whatever government agency is going to say, well, we
- 18:56didn't know where he was, but obviously he's in Brisbane
- 18:58because his phone is doing a little, that app is doing a
- 19:01little handshake with that tower in this area.
- 19:04So we know he's in Brisbane. We know he's down there now, you
- 19:06know, or I've seen people and they've been busted.
- 19:12Something's happened. They realised, oh, people are
- 19:14watching, people listening to my phone, OK.
- 19:17And they think they're really smart and they'll go out the
- 19:19next day and they'll get another phone, they'll get another SIM.
- 19:22And then they're like, Yep, no one knows me.
- 19:24No one knows what I'm doing now because I've got a new phone,
- 19:26new SIM, No one knows his phone number.
- 19:29So what do they do? As soon as they do it, they text
- 19:31all their friends or they ring their mate and they say, hey,
- 19:35this is my new number. Don't tell anyone as soon as you
- 19:39ring your friend who's still got the same phone number, the other
- 19:43people who were tracking you, listening to you, following you
- 19:47through your phone, through your device, they now know your new
- 19:50number. They now know exactly where you
- 19:53are and what you're doing because you've just rung your
- 19:54friend. This is if you've ever seen
- 19:56those movies about like about the gangs, like in the United
- 20:01States, you know, there might be a pretend movie like, you know,
- 20:03not in factual and that and they're talking.
- 20:05They say, oh, you know, every once a week, the gang leader.
- 20:09All the whole gang ditches their phones and they pick up a new
- 20:12burner and they only use those burners for a week and then
- 20:14every Monday they all get a new burner.
- 20:18That's the only way you're going to be able to do it is if
- 20:23everyone you knew got a new burner every day, every, every,
- 20:28you know, once a week, everyone is on the exactly the same
- 20:32wavelength and gets a new burner, then that's the only way
- 20:37that you'd be able to avoid being tracked.
- 20:40Because as soon as you think, well, you know, I can't get my
- 20:44mum to have a new burner every week, so she's got to have the
- 20:46same phone number. But me and my mates, we just
- 20:49have burners and that's what we use.
- 20:51But then once every month, once every six month, I have to call
- 20:54my poor little mum, you know, make sure she's OK.
- 20:56And then someone's sitting there listening and oh, bang, Jay's
- 20:59rung his mum every six months as he usually does.
- 21:03So we know his new number. We know exactly where he is
- 21:05right now. It's virtually impossible unless
- 21:09you're going to live as a hermit.
- 21:13All this to say, OK, when people get on social media and say,
- 21:17hey, this stuff's happening, turn your phone off, let's all
- 21:21be scared. Let's all you know, we don't
- 21:24want to end up like the UK. Yeah, I, I get it.
- 21:26I don't want to end up like the UK and what's going on in Europe
- 21:29and all that thing. But the best thing to do is to
- 21:34gather as much information, intelligence as you can, OK?
- 21:39You don't run and bury your head in the sand.
- 21:42You put the feelers out, you find out who's got what phones
- 21:48and get as much Intel. Does it work in this area?
- 21:52Does it work from this carrier? Does it work on this type of
- 21:55phone? Does it work?
- 21:57You know, whatever other scenario you can think of.
- 22:02Does it work on this device? Don't bury your head in the
- 22:06sand. Don't turn your phone off.
- 22:08Don't take the notifications off.
- 22:11Get as much intelligence as you can.
- 22:15Like I said, it's all in the name.
- 22:19AUS Alert. If you really, really want to
- 22:22get around it and you really don't want to be a part of it.
- 22:24The only way at the moment, the only way I can see anyone not
