- 1:07My best friend Kurt is here. What up, What up, What up?
- 1:09I'm going to breeze through the show today.
- 1:12Got a bit of a shorter show than last week.
- 1:15I have some travel right after this so I got to get out of
- 1:17Dodge in about an hour or so to make it on time.
- 1:23Creative people are supposedly perpetually messy and late.
- 1:27I don't know if that's true, but I'll count myself as well.
- 1:33Sip my liquid depth. San Francisco right on queue
- 1:37getting ready to fuck shit up. What are you going to do?
- 1:40This is what we do here. Madness, Madness.
- 1:45Hey, Melissa's here, my love is here, my best friend is here and
- 1:48thanks for being here. If you're new here, please like

- 2:05Here at goes Colt mag.com. Hey, Ward 16 is here from the
- 2:10UK. Glad to see you and Machado.
- 2:15What up, what up, what up? Good to see you.
- 2:17Good to see you good to see you. You made it to the right place.
- 2:20Unbelievably, it is almost October.
- 2:22Where did the year go so far, so fast, so fast and so furious.
- 2:28The best experience for this show is YouTube, which we just
- 2:32turned 12 years old on YouTube today as a company, we are in
- 2:36business 13 years in a in a few weeks, but 12 years on YouTube.
- 2:42Thank you to everybody. A lot of people are here
- 2:44probably because of YouTube and our YouTube videos and
- 2:47interviews and fun things like that.
- 2:50So thanks also Twitch, Facebook, Instagram, and of course, I'm
- 2:56hanging out on TikTok. Although here on TikTok, you
- 2:58don't get the full benefit of the entire show like you do on
- 3:03the other channels. Happy YouTube birthday for real.
- 3:05Shout out to my whole team, my partner Omar, Cordy, anybody
- 3:10that works with us. I'm really appreciative of
- 3:11everybody that has contributed here.
- 3:14So let's get on with the show and the cast.
- 3:17No delay. And as usual, we start with the
- 3:20announcements and usually with some death notices.
- 3:24Not too many this week, not too many birthdays this week.
- 3:26Oh, just a reminder, we are giving away tickets to see the
- 3:30cult Death cult Papa Smalls. What up son, we are giving away
- 3:34tickets. We partnered with Golden Voice
- 3:36to give away tickets to the cult Death.
- 3:38Cult failure has now been added to that show and Patriarchy in
- 3:43Los Angeles on October 30th. Hit the link in our description
- 3:47to enter to win. It's not too many hoops to jump
- 3:51through lads is here. What up, what up?
- 3:55Not too many hoops to jump through to sign up to win and
- 3:59maybe you'll win tickets to go. It'll be fun.
- 4:02And then again, now time for the rest of the announcements.
- 4:04And again, Friday was the anniversary of the passing my
- 4:07mom. Heavy hearts.
- 4:08A lot of stuff going on in my life right now.
- 4:13Also also, today would be the birthday, the 52nd birthday of
- 4:17my childhood best friend Damien Danville, who passed away a
- 4:20couple of years ago. Still very surreal that he
- 4:23passed this. He was an exceptional human
- 4:26being. Like, you really can't imagine
- 4:28what a good friend he was, what a good person he was, how
- 4:31important he was in the world. And I've spent a lot of time
- 4:36talking about him in the past. I would like to read this
- 4:40passage. Might be a little bit of a
- 4:43tearjerker, but you know, basically, I won't read the
- 4:48whole thing. But his mom wished him like a
- 4:50happy heavenly birthday. And if there's a a place, an
- 4:56afterlife or a paradise, he's probably in it for sure.
- 5:01Can't say that about too many people, but I digress.
- 5:08Sadness prevails. Also, we're still rocked by the
- 5:11loss of Tomas Tompa Lindbergh of At the Gates and Despair and
- 5:17Lock up in a bunch of other bands.
- 5:19A lot of tributes are still pouring in and probably the best
- 5:22one that I read this week was Dirk V Buren Megadeth, but also
- 5:25formerly of Soil Work and a bunch of other bands and they
- 5:28work together on and off. And Dirk filled in for At the
- 5:31Gates at times and stuff like that.
- 5:34So just again, still a very heavy and hurting loss.
- 5:39Celebrating birthdays this week. Just a few David Coverdale of
- 5:43White Snake and Deep Purple fame.
- 5:45This is one of my favorite photos of him ever.
- 5:47Look at him in the in the photo pit singing right up to the
- 5:50crowd. Not too shabby for a guy that's
- 5:5370 something years old. Not too shabby.
- 5:59Also also houses Narrows of Sleep and home.
- 6:04And there's a birthday this week.
- 6:07Happy birthday to Al Incredible, one of my favorite bass players
- 6:09and vocalist Clown from Slipknot celebrated a birthday this week.
- 6:14Not too bad to get a platinum album for your birthday.
- 6:18Shout out to Tommy Victor of Prong, one of my favorite people
- 6:21and one of my favorite people to interview.
- 6:24Also celebrated a birthday this week.
- 6:28Albums celebrating an anniversary.
- 6:30This is like one of the most deep and rich in history album
- 6:33release weeks ever in history. We always do this.
- 6:37Hopefully this will jog your memory, remind you to listen to
- 6:41your favorite records, or make a new favorite record.
- 6:43It may be obviously the ubiquitous Nevermind was
- 6:46released this week in 1991, released on the very same day as
- 6:50Nirvana's Nevermind. Red Hot Chili Peppers, best
- 6:52album Blood sugar, Sex magic never really equaled or near
- 6:58Black Sabbath Volume 4 was released.
- 7:03I'm going to say this week in 1975 or 4 three.
- 7:09Excuse me or 272. Sorry about that Week after my
- 7:12birthday, week after I was born. Wow.
- 7:15Speaking of David Coverdale, he had a solo record out this week
- 7:18in history. Here's Tears For Fears.
- 7:21Seeds of love. Great album.
- 7:22Very Beatles Y. This album always fucking
- 7:27confused me. The Doors, this is, you know,
- 7:33absolutely straight up a bizarre album cover and always befuddled
- 7:39me as a child. Like, this doesn't look like it
- 7:42should be a Doors album. But anyway, like Sabbath,
- 7:47Paranoid also had an anniversary.
- 7:49I know there's like some conjecture about when did it
- 7:51come out? Officially released in September
- 7:54of 1970 in the UK and then in February 71.
- 8:01So technically we celebrate the original birthday again.
- 8:04Down 30 years of down. Nola, the debut album Crazy
- 8:09Crazy. Also Onslaught had an album
- 8:13anniversary this week. Disturbed.
- 8:16Just like 3 weeks in a row where Disturbed had an album
- 8:18anniversary. Not too shabby.
- 8:21Here's Decapitated. Solid album.
- 8:23Blood Mantra, Obituary. The excellent cause of Death.
- 8:27One of their best albums of old school death metal.
- 8:30Also also Anthrax, State of Euphoria, much maligned.
- 8:34I like it more now than I did at the time it came out.
- 8:36And I get that peace sells, but who's buying?
- 8:38I know Mustaine, who had a birthday last week, was talking
- 8:41about he's never seen a dime from Paramount or NTV for the
- 8:45peace sells. Do do do do do do.
- 8:47Do you hear it? First, if you want to check out
- 8:51my previous interview with David Ellipson, now out of Mega,
- 8:54that's what we talked about. That's his bass riff.
- 8:56Him and Gar Samuelson, basically former late drummer of Megadeth
- 9:00who played that intro together. Not Andrew Shout at the Devil.
- 9:05Great album, not a great bunch of guys or band.
- 9:09Type O Negative right in time for spooky season World coming
- 9:12down. Seems like Type O Negative has a
- 9:14lot of summertime autumn releases right in time with the
- 9:18season of the band. Just a reminder.
- 9:20That's kind of a brief run through this week.
- 9:22Just a reminder that again, we do not, we are not corporate
- 9:27backed. So if you want to be a real 1
- 9:29and drop us a tip tip, tip, tip. I appreciate it because this
- 9:33shit ain't easy or free. A lot of work goes into this by
- 9:37our whole team around the world as well as myself as well as my
- 9:40partner Omar. We do a lot of work to bring
- 9:43this stuff to you every single day.
- 9:45We really don't take a day off. It's it's wild.
- 9:49I started to try to like baby myself.
- 9:51I had a doctor's appointment yesterday.
- 9:52Maybe I'll do a health update next week.
- 9:55But yeah, I, I need to, you know, learn to unplug better and
- 10:02take better care of myself. But it's definitely hard to do.
- 10:05It's definitely hard to do. All right, continuing on again,
- 10:09here's our cash app in case you want to drop us a couple of
- 10:11bucks. I appreciate it.
- 10:12Thank you. And then on to the features.
- 10:18And here's the features. I'll look big in this for a
- 10:19minute. Features this week it goes
- 10:22called again. We're giving away those tickets
- 10:23to the cult. I did a live stream last night.
- 10:26Maybe you saw it, maybe you didn't.
- 10:28Talking about Gore at Riot Fest and this fake outrage brouhaha.
- 10:32Pearl clutching Gore is an equal opportunity offender.
- 10:37I don't know how anyone would not see this a Gore performance
- 10:40as anything other than satire. Not to mention that Riot Fest is
- 10:44predominantly a punk rock and alternative rock and hardcore
- 10:47festival with punk rock rebellious roots.
- 10:51But people are going to people and be fucking dumb ass idiots
- 10:55and I don't know really you know what to say.
- 11:00You know, it's kind of hard. It's hard to know what what what
- 11:03people love. You know what they mean when
- 11:06they are getting outraged and silly, but this is what they do.
- 11:12So I did that live stream. Check that out.
- 11:14That'll be a podcast tomorrow. This show will also be a podcast
- 11:16on the Ghost Call magazine podcast, wherever you listen to
- 11:19podcasts. Also last week I reviewed Spinal
- 11:25Tap two, really fun. Go see it.
- 11:27It's not going to be in the movies for long.
- 11:29And then it'll be on demand and you can watch it from the
- 11:30comfort of your home and your underwear with your popcorn and
- 11:33your Takis or whatever treats you like.
- 11:37But I rather enjoyed Final Tattoo.
- 11:38Spoiler alert, but check out my review of it.
- 11:41Interviews. This week we once again
- 11:43interviewed the great Gene Hoagland.
- 11:46He has a new album out with Dark Angel.
- 11:48He's on tour right now. Then he goes right into a tour
- 11:51with Death to All. He's also got Death Clock
- 11:53festivals and probable tour dates for next year.
- 11:55We talked to Gene about everything.
- 11:57He's fond of Ghost Cult. He did a huge series of
- 11:59interviews with my partner Omar earlier in the year.
- 12:03And now we have this Dark Angel album.
- 12:05It's a banger and he's on tour now, so check out our interview.
- 12:09He also dunks on Spotify and streaming and talks about why
- 12:14Ken is here. What's up, Kenneth Kaltenbach,
- 12:16what's up, pal? My second favorite.
- 12:18Ken also also I interviewed Scott Aquabella from Cryptodira.
- 12:25That's the Long Island progressive metal band.
- 12:28They are pretty killer. They have a tour coming up and
- 12:34super excited to super excited to share that interview with
- 12:40them. Go see them if you get a chance.
- 12:41They are on the very excellent Silent Pendulum Records, which
- 12:46probably you know, you should know about.
- 12:49They're very good underground record label that I think you
- 12:52should check out. All right, moving right along.
- 12:56This is going quickly for a change.
- 12:59Another interview I did that's going to run tomorrow on our
- 13:01podcast is with Jed Simon and Halen Chase of Vimic.
- 13:06Vimic is the riff. Haven is here.
- 13:09Vimic is the death metal band that was created by and led by
- 13:14Joey Jordison. There's a lot of Joey Jordison
- 13:16love out there right now, and I recently interviewed Frederick
- 13:19Leclerc of Sensenum and they said it right again.
- 13:22So Vimic has their finally their unreleased album Open Your Own
- 13:26Minutes coming out. It's only been a handful of
- 13:28singles over the year. They did a hugely successful
- 13:31Kickstarter Once Joey Jordison's two sisters got the right back
- 13:35to the album, they're putting it out on vinyl and CD for the
- 13:38first and only time ever. The band is going to do a huge
- 13:42show in LA on October 3rd with Wednesday 13 opening.
- 13:46So it's going to be a big party for Joey's honor and a whole
- 13:49bunch of celebrity drummers are going to be there.
- 13:51And I interviewed Jed. Jed's been a fan and a friend of
- 13:54Ghost Colton. Caitlin, I've interviewed a few
- 13:56times over his career and he's really not known as an extreme
- 13:59metal vocalist except with Vimek, but it was really great
- 14:04to talk to them and and honor Joey that way.
- 14:06I'm a big Joey Jordison fan and believer and yeah, he was, you
- 14:11know, a pretty great guy. And Vimic is terrific.
- 14:13I'm excited for this record to come out.
- 14:15Also, check out the podcast where I interviewed Dallas Tyler
- 14:18Wade of Narconic Wasteland. They're on tour right now
- 14:22playing all of Dallas's work when he was in the band Nile.
- 14:26Annihilation of the Wicked is that record.
- 14:30Annihilation of the Wasteland was the tour.
- 14:32I think their headline tour dates are ending and then
- 14:34they're going to go on the road opening for Filth, the deathcore
- 14:37band. Lot of fun.
- 14:40Also check out my other job, the Glacially musical podcast Beer,
- 14:44Metal and Swearing. We are finishing our series on
- 14:47Ozzy Osbourne. That's going to go live tonight
- 14:48and tomorrow. We did Osmosis, we drank and
- 14:52talked about vinyl and had a lot of fun and yeah, super cool
- 14:56shit. What else?
- 14:58What else? All right, that's all the
- 15:00brouhaha at the beginning. This usually takes me 30
- 15:03minutes, and I did it in 1415 minutes.
- 15:05Not too shabby, yo. All right.
- 15:08Also, also, we start with Metal Festival.
- 15:11That's where we begin our music festival coverage.
- 15:15Every, every our news coverage every week begins the official
- 15:18part of the show. We start with festivals.
- 15:20And this weekend, this CBGB's festival, we didn't really try
- 15:23to cover it. Iggy Pop, Jack White, Sex
- 15:26Pistols are now not on it. I need an updated poster.
- 15:28Angel Dust, Crow Mags, The Damn Destroy Boys, Johnny Moore, my
- 15:32favorite hardcore band of all time.
- 15:34Gorilla Biscuits, Linda Linda's Lunatics, who I love, Marky
- 15:40Ramon, Melvin's solo teen mortgage scowl.
- 15:45Murphy's Law. So a lot of new lot of Lambrini
- 15:47girls. Marky Ramon doing all Ramon
- 15:49songs. Jason Virus is back.
- 15:52What up? What up?
- 15:57Yeah, CBGB Fest. If they come back for Year 2,
- 15:59we'll try to try to give it a cover.
- 16:02I know Iggy has this show this weekend, right?
- 16:05And he, he went off stage at his last date of his tour.
- 16:10He got into a coffin and they wheeled him away and people
- 16:13interpreted that as he's retiring.
- 16:18But he's not retiring. That was just the end of this
- 16:20era for him of Iggy. I think he's a great showman.
- 16:23Jason Virus played a show with Marky.
- 16:24That's sick. That's very sick.
- 16:26Jason Levitation fest this weekend which we could have
- 16:30covered it. My Austin, TX guy is too busy.
- 16:33He's a fireman. He's too busy saving lives to go
- 16:35cover a metal festival. But Mastodon, acid bath, the
- 16:38sword, Blood incantation, the arm, TV on the radio, pavement
- 16:42built to spill. Black angels who I love.
- 16:44Underrated ban from Sweden, a place to bury strangers.
- 16:48Former ghost cult interviewee. Boy, Hansher, Love, Y'all, Jeff
- 16:53Rosenstock and many more. Also Aftershock is next weekend,
- 17:00Blink, Deftones, Corn, Bring me the horizon, Rob Zombie, bad
- 17:06omens, perfect circle, Good Charlotte, acid bath cream
- 17:09theater, Dillinger escape plan, many more, many more.
- 17:14Killer Primavera sound got announced today.
- 17:17This is a festival that takes place in Barcelona or Barcelona
- 17:21because the C is a TH and Castilian Spanish.
- 17:24But you know, it's headlining gorillas, Massive attack, My
- 17:29Bloody Valentine, Skrillex, kind of, you know, kind of a mix
- 17:34between rock and pop and rap. Father John Misty knocked loose
- 17:40Rilo Kiley, so not too bad. Kind of touché Amor is on this
- 17:45Mersbo, who just announced a new project.
- 17:48So kind of cool kind of cool State coach festival, which is
- 17:54like the Coachella for country people.
- 17:55Not a big thing for me, but just in case some of you like
- 17:59Stagecoach, Mikey says Massive Attack and Skrillex.
- 18:03Not bad. Long live gore.
- 18:05Fuck the dumb asses. That's correct, Sir.
- 18:07That is correct. That is 100% accurate.
- 18:10But in case you like country music, Cody Johnson, Bailey
- 18:12Zimmerman, Red Clay, Strays, Counting Crows, Laney Wilson who
- 18:18I like, Riley Green Journey. No thank you.
- 18:20Bush somehow Teddy swims. Great voice, not sure how he
- 18:24fits into a country festival. Post Malone, Brooks and Dunn,
- 18:28Hootie and the blowfish. Jesus Christ.
- 18:30Third Eye Blind. They fucking hate Diplo, Pitbull
- 18:36and Ludacris also. And Guy Fieri's Stagecoach
- 18:41Smokehouse going to be like $35 for a burger.
- 18:44No thanks, bro. All right, that's all.
- 18:47The festival's just really rapid fire this week.
- 18:49Now time for the concerts. And again, a lot of these are
- 18:52concerts already tours ongoing or about to be going.
- 18:56Adruna's wrapping up their tour in New York, Philly and DC this
- 19:00weekend. We will be at the New York show
- 19:01tomorrow. Shout out to Adruna and their
- 19:04entire team for working with us to help promote this tour.
- 19:08I still would like to do a live stream review.
- 19:11Maybe I'll do a live stream review of Wadruna, the Sword and
- 19:14Baroness, which was my last three shows.
- 19:16Baroness review. We'll be talking about them in a
- 19:18minute, coming tomorrow to the website My Chemical Romance.
- 19:22Big, big surprise as I predicted that the stadium tour this
- 19:26summer was a test for a larger headline tour next year, which
- 19:30is now happening. The Black Parade or Long live?
- 19:33The Black Parade 2026. Again, this is a band.
- 19:36I saw a struggle to bring like 100 people to Irving Plaza or
- 19:41Tramps back in the day in New York City and now they are
- 19:43playing absolute banger stadium. Sonic worshippers here, Lush and
- 19:49glamorous here. Irish is here.
- 19:52Is that the leprechaun? Like a cartoon in your in your
- 19:57screen, your headshot there. Nice work.
- 20:00Massive attack and simple turret doing chaos in Brazil.
- 20:02I know right? That's fucking crazy.
- 20:05We'll talk about simple tour a little bit next week.
- 20:07Interesting case of whether a farewell tour is really a
- 20:10farewell tour if it keeps going for years and years.
- 20:13Parkway Drive tour underway. We are officially confirmed to
- 20:16be covering Parkway Drive next week in the UK.
- 20:19Very exciting. Or the week after next?
- 20:21The Monday after next, maybe Narcotic wasteland again.
- 20:25This is the Dallas Taller Wade tour, an annihilation of the
- 20:29wasteland. So this is already on tour with
- 20:33Filth Sunset Underground in Texas tonight, yesterday, Denver
- 20:40tonight so not bad. They got a butt with maybe
- 20:42another week of dates again. Baroness ongoing with Weed Eater
- 20:46Killer tour. I had one of the best times for
- 20:49my birthday at this tour at Great American Music Hall.
- 20:52Photos and review coming to the site tomorrow morning.
- 20:56Judas Priest, Alice Cooper and COC on tour now Mudvayne is in
- 21:00the middle of their LD 50 twenty 25th anniversary.
- 21:05Holy cow what a what a time to be alive.
- 21:09Dark Angel once again on tour now with a bunch of killer
- 21:12thrash metal and crossover bands.
- 21:14I'm hoping to go to the Berkeley show in mid-october.
- 21:17We'll see what's going on in my life.
- 21:19Better Lovers kicked off their European Tour.
- 21:22We're getting a new Better Lovers album.
- 21:24Actually. Greg Pusiano A crowbar passed
- 21:28by. What a crowbar.
- 21:29Greg Pusciano or Pookie Otto, depending on who you are.
- 21:33Dillinger Compound is not here to correct me.
- 21:37Dave, kind of. He's doing an e-mail update now.
- 21:40He hasn't been updating his e-mail list.
- 21:41A lot of people do an e-mail list again.
- 21:43A guy I always say is a music marketer.
- 21:45If you have a band, your e-mail list is a thing you own.
- 21:47Social media you can't control, but your website, you can
- 21:50control your website and your mailing list.
- 21:53There are things you should focus on.
- 21:54So I know Devin Townsend launched A newsletter and that's
- 21:57going to be monthly and now Greg is saying he's going to update
- 22:01his stuff. Better Lovers two album coming
- 22:03next year. The Black Queen 2 finished
- 22:05coming next year. Maybe a solo Greg album coming.
- 22:08A lot of stuff going on with Federal Prisoner label and Greg
- 22:11and Better Lovers Zoth who I interviewed and ran that
- 22:16interview last week. EXO Galactic tour continues to
- 22:18run through next weekend. Very cool Exo Galactic actuality
- 22:242025. Very cool band.
- 22:27Steigen Bow is the collab between Bell Witch.
- 22:31You've seen me rocking my Bell Witch shirt and I love the band.
- 22:34Bell Witch and Area Ariel Ruin are two bands that have been
- 22:38doing this Steigen Bow collab and nothing is here.
- 22:43So yes, Steige and Bao is their collaborative effort.

- 22:52then the incoming news is there was a teaser trailer.

- 23:27the final Orange Goblin dates and then a few headline dates

- 25:40We're on all the socials twitch, Facebook, YouTube again, 12
- 25:43years on YouTube, 13 years as a company.
- 25:46I love this meme so much. So do you like Metallica or
- 25:51Megadeth? Me, James Mustaine.
- 25:55You know, this is a very old picture of both Dave's hairline
- 25:58and James's face. But OK, let's RIP and rock
- 26:05through the rest of the show. To quote Omar from The Wire, RIP
- 26:10and run. I rob drug dealers.
- 26:13The big story of the week. This broke right before the show
- 26:16last weekend. Live Nation is being sued.
- 26:19Live Nation and it's company Ticketmaster that they own are
- 26:25being sued by the Federal Trade Commission for unfair practices
- 26:28regarding the pricing of tickets and scalpers.
- 26:32Scalpers are now baked into the experience of buying tickets to
- 26:35any major show. And you know, I think it's super
- 26:41interesting that it's just specifically about ticket
- 26:44reselling, scalping bots, Live Nation being culpable as part of
- 26:50the problem. I would really like to see hey,
- 26:53Mark Bancher, what's up, Sir? I would really like to see Live
- 26:56Nation and Ticketmaster divested.
- 26:58Like made them not be a monopoly anymore.
- 27:01They're probably going to just pay a big fine and not change
- 27:04anything much. That's my hunch.
- 27:06But we'll see if the if the government is too busy trying
- 27:11to. No, I have not heard.
- 27:14I love Billy Joel. What did what did Billy Joel say
- 27:16about is he going to not use Ticketmaster anymore when he
- 27:19comes back to performing? First of all, I hope he's coming
- 27:21back to performing because I would love to see Billy Joel one
- 27:24more time. He's one of my favorite artists
- 27:26ever. Mark doing right on on the tick
- 27:30of the talk here. Thanks for being here.
- 27:33So Live Nation, we'll see what happens.
- 27:35Sweet token. The second biggest story of the
- 27:38week played at Louder Than Life last weekend in Louisville, KY.
- 27:42We were supposed to go. We were supposed to cover a
- 27:44bunch of festivals, Riot Fest and Louder Than Life and those
- 27:47did not work out. We do have coverage of Shaky
- 27:49Knees in Atlanta coming soon, so that's Deftones, Lenny Kravitz,
- 27:54Sublime. But Sleep Token, not even a
- 27:57headliner at Louder Than Life, not even close to being a
- 28:00headliner like the 3rd or 4th headliner on the day they
- 28:03played. And they had the biggest crowd
- 28:06ever for one band. 80,000 people were hyped to see this band for
- 28:11whether it's curiosity or not. So every tech NC is here.
- 28:16What's up? So Billy is holding back the
- 28:18first two rows. Oh, he's been doing that for a
- 28:20while. Yeah, he's been doing that for a
- 28:21while. He get he gifts people front row
- 28:23tickets who have the top seats in the arena.
- 28:26I love that guy. I love Billy Joel.
- 28:28He's a real man of the people, unlike some others who pretend
- 28:31to be. I think Billy is still pretty
- 28:33cool. I hope he I hope he can come
- 28:34back and perform like he used to again.
- 28:38I know he's kind of retired from the garden.
- 28:40He was supposed to do 1 farewell world tour of stadiums.
- 28:44Stevie Nicks was going to be his opening act in the US and then
- 28:47he's had some health problems. But I do highly recommend the
- 28:50Billy Joel documentary on Hulu or HBO.
- 28:53Excuse me. All right, I don't recommend
- 28:56anything on Hulu right now. So yeah, Sleep Token.
- 28:58This is rather old photo of Sleep token.
- 29:01They don't really allow photographers anymore, but we
- 29:03covered them at a festival and we got this incredible early
- 29:05photo of them. We have a series of good shots.
- 29:07This is by our man Rich Price from the UK.
- 29:10He's not really going to step down and retiring from, you
- 29:16know, he's kind of retired from photography for outlets that I
- 29:20know of, but he's been working for Oh, Buckingham Nicks
- 29:22reissue. No shit.
- 29:23Nice. Let me know how that is.
- 29:26Once again, gore people with their fake outrage trying to
- 29:29silence free speech. How possibly could you take a
- 29:32band seriously that are mutant aliens wearing costumes they
- 29:35made themselves. They're basically naked under
- 29:37those costumes shooting fake blood on the crowd that can't
- 29:40wait to get cummed on and shot blood on and you peed on by this
- 29:45fake dye water. Who the fuck saw this and was
- 29:48mad at this? You are a soft bitch.
- 29:51Men, women, they them's. You are a soft bitch if you are
- 29:55offended by gore. Satire is what gore is.
- 29:58I did a whole live stream podcast on this, so go check
- 30:00that out. But just, I love that Gore is
- 30:04like, y'all are all fucking ridiculous.
- 30:06Gore's publicist is probably fucking thrilled.
- 30:08Gore is going to get like an 800% boost in their streaming.
- 30:12Probably. People are running out to buy
- 30:14Gore records for the first time ever because this is so fucking
- 30:16cool. And there's no such thing as bad
- 30:19publicity in the world of publicity.
- 30:22So, you know, I don't know what else to say except, you know, we
- 30:25lose our freedom of speech. We've lost everything.
- 30:27What the fuck, people? Again, gore.
- 30:30It's satire. What a bunch of sock bitches.
- 30:35Oh, carry on, my wayward son. Dude, we had the last two
- 30:38interviews basically with Dave Brockie as Dave Brockie before
- 30:42he died. I spent a whole day with him and
- 30:44I hung out with him and we drank together and did an interview
- 30:46with the Worcester Palladium. And then my partner Omar
- 30:48interviewed him and it was supposed to be odorous.
- 30:51And Omar, it's just that kind of person that people just open up
- 30:54and they like him and they open up to him.
- 30:55And then it was just like, let's just do this is Dave.
- 30:58I want to talk about being Dwyane religious fanatics,
- 31:00Kenneth Carlton Box says. I've been protesting Gore for a
- 31:03while. I love Gore.
- 31:04I love Gore too. And by the way, Gore is an equal
- 31:07opportunity slaughterer of people.
- 31:10They skewer celebrities, politicians, doesn't matter.
- 31:13Right, left, liberal, not liberal, whatever the fuck, you
- 31:17know what I'm saying. Clinton, Obama, Biden, Hillary,
- 31:21Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber. I've seen everybody get
- 31:26butchered by Gore and fed into the world machine.
- 31:29The word the, the, the world one machine, whatever that is.
- 31:33Fucking idiots. That's what I have to say.
- 31:35And Ryan Festa especially tip the cap to Ryan Fest.
- 31:37They have been clapping back on social media against everybody.
- 31:42They will. I'm sure they're joking, but
- 31:44they're like, we're going to have Gore headline all three
- 31:46days of the festival next year and, you know, behead everybody.
- 31:50I was like good biscuit, we didn't talk about this much Limp
- 31:55Biscuit drop the brand new song making love to Morgan while and
- 31:57I kind of fucking don't like Morgan while and fuck that dumb
- 32:00ass but like what a great track. I sincerely hope this is the
- 32:04first salvo of what will hopefully be a new Limp Bizkit
- 32:07record. Limp Bizkit still sucks.
- 32:09Came out in 2021. Has the epic song dad vibes with
- 32:12the great video. The rest of the records I got
- 32:15some bangers but not too many. But you know, I'm hopeful.
- 32:19It's kind of wild Limp Bizkit is more popular now than maybe they
- 32:22even were at the top of the TRL game.
- 32:24I know that seems unlikely but it's true.
- 32:28Also also we got the My Only Angel collab single from
- 32:32Aerosmith, The Youngblood. I didn't know I needed this.
- 32:35I don't love the auto tune vocals from Steven Tyler and
- 32:38Youngblood. Youngblood is young and does not
- 32:40need his vocals auto tune. But I understand that on a
- 32:43modern pop and rock, auto tune is kind of everywhere and you
- 32:47can't get away from it. I think it's wack, but the song
- 32:49is not bad. It's, you know, can it be called
- 32:51Aerosmith if it's just Stephen and Joe?
- 32:53But it's just Stephen and Joe and Youngblood and his
- 32:56producers. But I got to say that My Only
- 32:58Angel. The rest of the song kind of
- 33:00rocks and the chorus is pretty strong.
- 33:02And then it's got that kind of loving an elevator audio, like a
- 33:06harmony vibe. I didn't hate it.
- 33:09They are going to do Back in the Saddle as a cover on this new EP
- 33:13coming from Aerosmith and Youngblood.
- 33:15Fun Song EP including the cover including My Only Angel coming
- 33:19in November on limited final variance and obviously streaming
- 33:22pre save pre-order. Now Metallica's getting a new
- 33:26set of fun codes for the 72 seasons era.
- 33:29Metallica's had fun codes of the 80s Metallica.
- 33:33They have fun codes of the Black Album and Justice for All and
- 33:37Master of Puppets. But this is the first set of
- 33:40them where they're sold individually for 72 seasons and
- 33:43for some reason I'm not sure why the large figure cost more.
- 33:47Why is the large figure a dollar?
- 33:50I didn't. You know these jokes right
- 33:52themselves. I Is it because Lars is an
- 33:54asshole? I don't know why I don't know
- 33:56why. Kitty has released their Spit
- 34:002025 EP with some modern rehashings of their classic
- 34:05debut album 25 years ago. It's pretty brutal.
- 34:09I'm a big Kitty fan, would love to interview them again.
- 34:12I had an interview at Sick New World a few years back with the
- 34:17Lander sisters. So very cool stuff.
- 34:20My music lover is here, Jace is here.
- 34:22What's up, what's up? All right, Agnostic Front.
- 34:28They got a brand new album out coming soon called Echoes of
- 34:31Eternity for their brand new deal with Raining Phoenix music.
- 34:34We've been talking about them on tour recently.
- 34:36They're doing a big West Coast tour, which strung out, followed
- 34:39by a small East Coast or tour. I'm pretty sure we're going to
- 34:42get that covered, but killer new song.
- 34:46I'm super pumped and I think next year we're going to get a
- 34:48new sick of it all record. So that's exciting.
- 34:51Gel I thought this story was fucking over, but here we go
- 34:54again. Gel, which broke up last year
- 34:57earlier this year because they're they're guitar player,
- 35:03did some shit on them. I got to go to this.
- 35:07So Anthony Webster, who was kicked out of the band and had
- 35:11like taken over their socials hosted to their social media
- 35:15today. And so gel has broken up and I
- 35:17believe they're starting a new band without him.
- 35:20And the social media post was signed.
- 35:22AW thinking that it's Webster and this is basically his
- 35:24rebuttal to all the claims against him.
- 35:26So I'm going to read this. I wrote all the music this
- 35:30period starting right now. No need to hope they start a
- 35:32project without me because they are incapable of playing or
- 35:35writing their own material. No money was stolen.
- 35:38Any money we made went straight back into torrent expenses, gear
- 35:42that I helped pick out for every band member, merch, final,
- 35:45etcetera. Remember the rest of the band
- 35:47had no experience prior and was relying on me to make their
- 35:50dream come true, which I was obviously willing to do.
- 35:52Any extra money we made back, which barely anything was, they
- 35:56insisted I held on to as the one who got the van, I was the one
- 35:59who got our gear. I was the one who wrote every
- 36:00single riff lyric in Trump part. I don't think that's all true,
- 36:03but OK. Someone in the band asked me to
- 36:05take nudes for them. Yep.
- 36:07Did they feel some sort of regret trusting me and gross
- 36:10suspicious that I went around sharing them online because of
- 36:12their anxiety to that conclusion?
- 36:14Yeah, sounds gross bro. It doesn't sound as good as you
- 36:17think it does when you're defending yourself about taking
- 36:20nudes and sharing them without permission.
- 36:21That's fucking criminal. Technically, when I decided it
- 36:25was time to put a stop to the band.
- 36:26When I decided it was time to put a stop the band, they chose
- 36:29to take it personally in an I'll manner.
- 36:31Maybe because they weren't going to have me spoon feed them the
- 36:33music to perform anymore. We leave off on a not so
- 36:36positive note during this process.
- 36:37Yep. Guy is not a fucking articulate
- 36:40person. Clearly.
- 36:41Which leads up to their statement about me to air
- 36:44quotes. I without a doubt know Bob Cohen
- 36:47Miller had absolutely no involvement in.
- 36:50Thank you for listening. And believe it or not, I
- 36:52honestly don't give a fuck at this point.
- 36:53Well, if you honestly didn't give a fuck, you wouldn't make
- 36:56this post defending yourself. Yeah.
- 36:59I don't know. I don't know, guy.
- 37:01I don't know. You sure about that?
- 37:03You sure about that? That's one of those.
- 37:07Winky Band is here. What's up, Vince Neil?
- 37:10Mötley Crüe has started their new residency, Raining hell on
- 37:14Las Vegas. Skull Basher is back.
- 37:15Eddie Perry is back. Holly Cruz got a Vegas
- 37:18residency. My Co host on the Galatian
- 37:20Musical podcast. Nick saw them and he enjoyed it.
- 37:22I think he was very drunk at the time.
- 37:25Vince Neil told Eddie Trunk in a recent interview that he had a
- 37:28stroke last year. When they cancelled the end of
- 37:33last year he had a stroke, his fourth stroke ever, and he did
- 37:36not know he had four strokes. Apparently you can have a stroke
- 37:38and not know it. And he was so debilitated, he
- 37:41had to learn how to talk and walk and sing again.
- 37:45But he feels great now. But he had a very severe stroke.
- 37:48I think that would be a sign to no longer perform and tour.
- 37:52But he's going to risk his health and his well-being to do
- 37:56this. I don't know.
- 37:57I guess the money is good, but is it worth it bro?
- 37:59Is it worth it bro? Don't do it bro.
- 38:04Don't do it. All right, You're thinking since
- 38:09having a quite a time he is on tour right now supporting his
- 38:12solo album The man Jake the man Drake Project volume 1.
- 38:17My buddy Don de Lamont from the glacial musical podcast in
- 38:20Southeast of Heaven is there tonight in Detroit.
- 38:23Root sang the US national anthem, a song about ending
- 38:27British tyranny in America to open the NFL season.
- 38:32And he also has been going all ham about cell phones, really
- 38:36angry about people using cell phones and watching the show
- 38:39through their cell phones and Iron Maiden and Bruce solo
- 38:43shows. And he called people who watch
- 38:45the whole show through their phone like this.
- 38:48He called them twerps and idiots.
- 38:51Those twerps and idiots also paid to see you.
- 38:53But I understand he feels like people are disconnected from the
- 38:56experience that he's trying to put on.
- 38:59Rammstein has announced a huge box set that no one asked for
- 39:03all of their singles from their entire 30 year history. 33
- 39:10singles in fact. These box set is €549 or almost
- 39:15$700.00 USD and probably similar Canadian.
- 39:20I can't imagine unless you were an absolute die hard and
- 39:23Rammstein is your favorite band why you would need this.
- 39:26But OK, that's come in a lovely package.
- 39:30Jack White's Third Man Records ain't a new global distribution
- 39:33deal with Secretly. This is to more widely
- 39:36distribute the Third Man Records label, which is Jack's music,
- 39:39Sleep, a bunch of other bands, pretty cool.
- 39:42Cypress Hills got some new Simpsons theme toys out.
- 39:46And I know Scott Ian was Hawking his Sergeant D doll.
- 39:50There's the last few. I saw an ad pointed at me.
- 39:53So advertising on social media, especially Instagram works, and
- 39:58Scott was offering his autographs of those in the
- 40:00store. Don't think I can afford one of
- 40:02those, but shout out to Cypress Hill.
- 40:04Cypress Hill. Somebody ordered the London
- 40:06Symphony Orchestra possibly. Wow.
- 40:08Hi. One of the best moments ever.
- 40:11Dogma, just because you like nerd culture and stuff.
- 40:14If you're watching me, you know that I love that stuff.
- 40:16Full metal Jackie, pass by. What's up.
- 40:17Respect. Dogma's 25th anniversary, now
- 40:21playing in theaters, will be on On demand soon.
- 40:25I saw a live stream by Jay Muse. He's on a comedy tour right now.
- 40:29I saw him talking about this. He was rocking a pretty
- 40:31excellent King Diamond hat. Gorillas have announced the new
- 40:35album The Mountain, which will be released in March.
- 40:38We talked earlier about them being one of the headliners of
- 40:40Primavera Sound Barcelona. Tom Petty coffee table book is
- 40:45coming out. It's like $400.00.
- 40:47I love Tom Petty and not $400.00 worth but you know.
- 40:51Cool that Tom is getting his flowers now.
- 40:54Unfortunately passed away way too young.
- 40:55Latreu continues to irritate their fans.
- 40:59New song, maybe new music on the way, but they definitely seem to
- 41:03be ending the band. I know they're just teasing and
- 41:07infuriating their fans. Brendan Salar said that they had
- 41:10at least a few more months left as a band before they pack it
- 41:13in. Door guy.
- 41:16The we last week we talked about the Downward Spiral remix album
- 41:20coming from one of my favorite labels, Magnetic Eye Records,
- 41:24and there was a new single out from that that is out now.
- 41:29You should definitely get on this.
- 41:33Be as cool as Gillian Anderson was as a goth Princess in the
- 41:3780s. Holy shit this is her with her
- 41:39friends. Looks kind of like a band photo
- 41:42from Missing Persons or Human League possibly, or Thomas Dolby
- 41:49Silence. Gillian Anderson.
- 41:53What a babe. You might even have some braids
- 41:55or dreads in there. I'm not sure.
- 41:57Maybe she has some hippie dreads.
- 42:00And that means it's time for the New Music Friday rundown.
- 42:04Let's do the rundown of New Music Friday.
- 42:06And then I do the mailbag and I get out of Dodge.
- 42:09Let's do it. What new albums are out this
- 42:12week? You can TuneIn every week to get
- 42:14the whole list from us. We do a video, we do social
- 42:17media posts, and we talk all about all the things you can
- 42:23check out. You should be picking up and
- 42:25spinning absolute must own records.
- 42:29Absolute must owns. Here's a list I'm going to give
- 42:32you album title, band, album title, label and maybe the
- 42:39genre. Here we go 321 abraded ethereal
- 42:44emanations from Sonic Carries Redefining darkness Records for
- 42:47some death metal. Abraham in Surusa on Pelagic
- 42:51Records for some Stoner doom. Absolute losers in the crowd
- 42:55having fun records for some punk After Earth's Dark Knight of the
- 42:58Soul self released Amorphous, the great melodic death metal
- 43:01band. Melodic death metal Borderland
- 43:04on reigning Phoenix music. We reviewed that Autumn Tears,
