- 0:00Speaker 1: I am Sherry Mackie, and it's time for us to
- 0:03Speaker 1: go to God in prayer, and as always, I ask
- 0:07Speaker 1: that you join along with me. It's labor day. Let's pray, y'all,
- 0:11Speaker 1: Heavenly Father, on this labor day, we give you thanks
- 0:16Speaker 1: for the gift of work. We thank you for the
- 0:20Speaker 1: strength and our bodies, the creativity and our minds, and
- 0:23Speaker 1: the skills you've placed in our hands. Lord, your word
- 0:27Speaker 1: reminds us in Colossians three twenty three that whatever we do,
- 0:31Speaker 1: we are to work at it with all our heart,
- 0:34Speaker 1: as working for you and not for man. Today, God,
- 0:38Speaker 1: we lift up every person who rises early, every person
- 0:41Speaker 1: who works diligently, and every person who sacrifices daily to
- 0:46Speaker 1: provide for their families and their communities. Lord, we recognize
- 0:50Speaker 1: that work is not always easy. Some face along our
- 0:54Speaker 1: Some face heavy burdens and unfair treatment. Others labor and
- 0:58Speaker 1: jobs that feel unseen and unappreciated. Yet we know that
- 1:02Speaker 1: you see every act of service, every moment of effort,
- 1:06Speaker 1: and you are the rewarder of those who remain faithful. Father,
- 1:10Speaker 1: remind us that our true worth is not in titles,
- 1:14Speaker 1: is not in our paycheck or positions, but in being
- 1:17Speaker 1: your sons and daughters created with your purpose. We pray
- 1:21Speaker 1: for those who are weary and exhausted, God renew their strength.
- 1:25Speaker 1: For those searching for work, open doors of opportunity. For
- 1:29Speaker 1: those who feel over looked, assure them that their labor
- 1:32Speaker 1: is not in vain. And for leaders, employers, and decision makers,
- 1:37Speaker 1: grant wisdom, God, fairness, and compassion that workplaces would be
- 1:42Speaker 1: marked by justice and dignity. On this day, we also
- 1:47Speaker 1: remember that even as we work, you call us into rest.
- 1:52Speaker 1: You created the Sabbath as a reminder that our identity
- 1:56Speaker 1: is not in how much we produce, but in who
- 1:59Speaker 1: we are. In You teach us balance. God, teach us
- 2:04Speaker 1: to balance labor with rest, diligence with peace, striving with stillness. Lord,
- 2:11Speaker 1: bless the work of every workers, the teachers, the builders,
- 2:15Speaker 1: the healthcare workers, the first responders, the entrepreneurs, the stay
- 2:20Speaker 1: at home parents, the service workers, the dreamers, and the doers.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Let their efforts bear fruit that brings life, hope, and
- 2:29Speaker 1: goodness into the world. And God, let everything we do
- 2:33Speaker 1: bring glory to You. We dedicate our work and our
- 2:36Speaker 1: rest to You Today. Lord, Let this Labor Day not
- 2:40Speaker 1: only be a day off, but a day to reflect,
- 2:43Speaker 1: a day to give faith, a day to recommit our hands,
- 2:47Speaker 1: our hearts, and our lives to service to you and
- 2:51Speaker 1: daily God. As we work, we do it as unto you.
- 2:56Speaker 1: In Jesus Mighty name, we pray
