- 0:00Speaker 1: Gator Nation, I don't want to put the wagon before
- 0:01Speaker 1: the horse because there's still plenty of football left to
- 0:03Speaker 1: be played in 2026. But much like John Wick, I'm
- 0:07Speaker 1: thinking you're back. And it's not Wick leading the charge.
- 0:09Speaker 1: It's Summerall. Dominant victory over Ole Miss today. And it's
- 0:13Speaker 1: one thing to beat a top five team in your backyard.
- 0:16Speaker 1: We have seen that in the past by other Gator rosters.
- 0:19Speaker 1: It's another to control the narrative, the tempo, the dialect,
- 0:23Speaker 1: how things are going to unfold. And the cherry on top,
- 0:26Speaker 1: making the most dangerous player in college football in the
- 0:29Speaker 1: fourth quarter mortal. Well, all those things were on display
- 0:32Speaker 1: today in a 52-28 win at home. And now, everything
- 0:37Speaker 1: you can envision about Florida football on the horizon, anything
- 0:40Speaker 1: that you can desire, it ain't dead just yet. And
- 0:43Speaker 1: you got to start talking about them with the P word.
- 0:45Speaker 1: And that may be playoff or postseason, doesn't really matter.
- 0:48Speaker 1: They should be in that conversation if this is how
- 0:50Speaker 1: they look. So let's break it all down. Welcome on
- 0:52Speaker 1: into SEC Football Addiction. Cole Thompson here. Like the video,

- 1:24Speaker 1: I was wrong. I was very wrong about this game.
- 1:27Speaker 1: I said, even though I do believe in Buster Faulkner,
- 1:29Speaker 1: even though I do believe in John Summerall, even though
- 1:31Speaker 1: I do like what I've seen from Run the Damn
- 1:33Speaker 1: Ball and Jaden Ball, that I thought that Florida was
- 1:36Speaker 1: going to come up short because of who was playing
- 1:38Speaker 1: quarterback for Ole Miss. And he got his. He didn't.
- 1:42Speaker 1: You can't argue with that. Here's the problem. Nobody else did.
- 1:46Speaker 1: That is what happens when you play meaningful football and
- 1:48Speaker 1: dominant football. Yeah, you can let Trinidad Chambers beat you
- 1:51Speaker 1: in a lot of ways. And there were moments that
- 1:53Speaker 1: he was able to take control. 299 passing yards, 48
- 1:56Speaker 1: rushing yards. Guys, he was the leading rusher. You made
- 2:01Speaker 1: this offense, once again, one-dimensional like a week ago. And
- 2:04Speaker 1: you said, if you're going to beat us, it's going
- 2:06Speaker 1: to be on your shoulders. And he was the game.
- 2:09Speaker 1: At one point, it wasn't even Florida playing Ole Miss anymore.
- 2:13Speaker 1: It was Florida stopping Trinidad Shamless, who was a one-man
- 2:15Speaker 1: wrecking crew. And by almighty, did they do so. Now,
- 2:18Speaker 1: on the offensive side, what happens? Well, when you get
- 2:21Speaker 1: a good play caller... and you have talented pieces like
- 2:24Speaker 1: you've had in the past, but you get yourself somebody
- 2:27Speaker 1: who knows the X's and O's and can dial up
- 2:30Speaker 1: schemes that will keep defenses guessing, and you play with
- 2:34Speaker 1: short field position, guess what? You find a way to win.
- 2:38Speaker 1: 35 unanswered points in the final 30 minutes of action.
- 2:41Speaker 1: There was a moment right when you come out of
- 2:43Speaker 1: halftime as Kermode McClain gets burnt by Deuce Alexander. Now
- 2:48Speaker 1: we got ourselves a ball game. Get the two-point conversion.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Here we go. We got Ole Miss back in this thing.
- 2:52Speaker 1: It's now by three. Buster Faulkner just laughs in the
- 2:55Speaker 1: face of adversity and goes, all right, watch this. Touchdown, touchdown, touchdown, touchdown, touchdown.
- 3:01Speaker 1: It didn't matter what John David Baker or Pete Golden
- 3:04Speaker 1: were talking about on the sidelines. Buster Faulkner is dialing
- 3:06Speaker 1: up new concoctions that are so lethal that any team
- 3:10Speaker 1: in college football should be fearful of what you can
- 3:13Speaker 1: do with this offense. And it starts and ends with
- 3:15Speaker 1: Jaden Baugh. Another dominant performance from a guy who does
- 3:18Speaker 1: not get enough love in the Heisman Trophy race. Because
- 3:21Speaker 1: I can sure as hell tell you at this point,
- 3:23Speaker 1: if he is not in the running to go to
- 3:25Speaker 1: the Big Apple, we're doing things wrong. This is the
- 3:28Speaker 1: straw that stirs the drink down in Gainesville. This is
- 3:31Speaker 1: the gator inside of the swamp that runs the show.
- 3:34Speaker 1: You know how there's like Augustus that lives out in
- 3:36Speaker 1: Africa in the West Nile? He's like 20 feet long
- 3:39Speaker 1: and he weighs like 1,200 pounds and he controls everything
- 3:43Speaker 1: that goes on there? That is what you got. That
- 3:45Speaker 1: is Augustus right there. His name is though Jaden Bond.
- 3:48Speaker 1: He's wearing unlucky number 13. Just dismantling every single thing
- 3:52Speaker 1: that comes his way. Over 140 rushing yards. 29 carries.
- 3:57Speaker 1: And a hat trick of touchdowns. My dude started off
- 4:00Speaker 1: this game averaging over 8 yards a click. Finishes at
- 4:04Speaker 1: only averaging 4.9. But that's going to happen when you
- 4:07Speaker 1: go ahead and touch it 30 times in a game.
- 4:09Speaker 1: For the season, he's probably averaging now about what? 7.6
- 4:13Speaker 1: yards a play? Oh, by the way, just add in
- 4:15Speaker 1: another 142 to that cool crisp number 2 rushing total.
- 4:18Speaker 1: That probably puts him in the lead for the most
- 4:20Speaker 1: rushing yards in college football. And if you don't want
- 4:23Speaker 1: to talk about him, how about go to the other
- 4:24Speaker 1: names that played a role? Duke Clark. 10.5 yards playing. Oh,
- 4:29Speaker 1: by the way, he also had 126 yards on the
- 4:32Speaker 1: day with 11 carries. Aaron Files' mobility. He found his
- 4:35Speaker 1: way into the end zone and only had one touch.
- 4:37Speaker 1: I mean, only had six carries for 14 yards. Didn't
- 4:40Speaker 1: really matter. How about Dallas Wilson getting involved with the trickery?
- 4:43Speaker 1: The ability to manipulate the offense in a way that
- 4:47Speaker 1: was so direct and derivative that kept Ole Miss slipping.
- 4:51Speaker 1: An Ole Miss defense that showed you over the last
- 4:53Speaker 1: two weeks in power four games against Louisville, and against LSU,
- 5:00Speaker 1: that if you let them play in space, you're going
- 5:02Speaker 1: to make them pay. They give you opportunity after opportunity
- 5:05Speaker 1: to go ahead and play in space, and you made
- 5:08Speaker 1: them pay. It's one thing to say, well, yeah, we
- 5:11Speaker 1: gave up over 400 yards of offense, because you did.
- 5:13Speaker 1: It's one thing to say, well, yeah, we allowed them
- 5:15Speaker 1: to convert four times on fourth down. It's another thing
- 5:18Speaker 1: to say that you did all that and you still
- 5:20Speaker 1: nearly put up 500 yourself and 50 plus points. And
- 5:23Speaker 1: you won in the time of possession. Oh, and also
- 5:25Speaker 1: you won in the first down category. And probably the
- 5:29Speaker 1: biggest thing, the rushing totals is what told the story
- 5:32Speaker 1: of the game. One team finished with 302 yards. One
- 5:35Speaker 1: team finished with 128. One team averaged over five yards
- 5:39Speaker 1: of playing. One team averaged less than four. And ladies
- 5:42Speaker 1: and gentlemen, when you have that type of formula, and
- 5:44Speaker 1: you throw in one of the weapons like Vernal Brown
- 5:47Speaker 1: and Dallas Wilson, and getting Eric Singleton back in, and
- 5:50Speaker 1: more on him in a moment, how are you not
- 5:52Speaker 1: sitting here and saying that Florida at this point, with
- 5:54Speaker 1: the offense that they have, and a defense that is
- 5:57Speaker 1: slowly improving, little by little underneath Brad White, played a
- 6:00Speaker 1: phenomenal first quarter, played a phenomenal first half, if we're
- 6:03Speaker 1: being completely honest. Phenomenal. May trade out Shameless Mortal for
- 6:07Speaker 1: outside of the third quarter. How are you not saying
- 6:10Speaker 1: that this team has something to fight for? This team
- 6:12Speaker 1: has got that moxie, that grit, that just little certain
- 6:17Speaker 1: spritz that gets you waking up in the morning and
- 6:20Speaker 1: feeling different. This is the best version of Florida we
- 6:22Speaker 1: have seen in decades. And it may end up only
- 6:25Speaker 1: being for a short time period. And it may only
- 6:27Speaker 1: be this time next week. We're talking about Florida in
- 6:30Speaker 1: a completely different light. But I don't think so. And
- 6:32Speaker 1: I don't know why you would either. You got two
- 6:34Speaker 1: running backs that are able to average over 100 yards
- 6:36Speaker 1: per game. You got a quarterback that's playing in a
- 6:39Speaker 1: system making the right reads. Also got a little bit
- 6:41Speaker 1: of moxie, a little bit of loosey-goosey, able to move
- 6:44Speaker 1: in the field, go ahead and go two-step into the
- 6:47Speaker 1: end zone. Got all those things that you want. Oh,
- 6:50Speaker 1: and that's also with a limited receiving core. Because keep
- 6:54Speaker 1: in mind this for a second. They lost Vernal Brown.
- 6:59Speaker 1: They weren't able to get a lot with Dallas Wilson.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Only two catches for 11 yards. Eric Singleton was the
- 7:05Speaker 1: leading receiver on the day with one catch. His first
- 7:08Speaker 1: in a Gators uniform for 38 yards. And it didn't
- 7:12Speaker 1: really matter because you played within the system. You didn't
- 7:15Speaker 1: put the ball in harm's way. And you knew exactly
- 7:18Speaker 1: what you want to run with an offense. And what
- 7:19Speaker 1: does that do? It makes you a team that you
- 7:22Speaker 1: have to be mentally and physically prepared for. Because if
- 7:24Speaker 1: they beat you in the trenches, and they beat you
- 7:27Speaker 1: in the ground game, and they beat you through the air,
- 7:29Speaker 1: and your defense is able to do just enough, 95%
- 7:33Speaker 1: of the time you're winning football games. I can tell
- 7:35Speaker 1: you that much.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Hey guys, I'll get right back to the video, but
- 7:38Speaker 2: first I want to make sure you are subscribed both

- 8:07Speaker 2: All of the conference football addictions, College Football Addiction, and
- 8:10Speaker 2: of course, The Power 2.
- 8:11Speaker 1: All right, back to the clip. I was vehemently impressed
- 8:16Speaker 1: with how well Aaron Filo played today. And I know
- 8:19Speaker 1: that you can look at his stat line and say, well,
- 8:21Speaker 1: he was only 16-23 for $ 1. 96, and he found the
- 8:24Speaker 1: end zone twice, once through the year. Guys, it was
- 8:26Speaker 1: the way that he played in structure. He never panicked
- 8:29Speaker 1: when you saw the passers of Ole Miss get to him.
- 8:31Speaker 1: He never felt like he was under too much duress
- 8:33Speaker 1: to be able to make the reads. It reminded me
- 8:36Speaker 1: a lot of what we saw early last season with
- 8:40Speaker 1: Gunnar Stockton. When Gunner Stockton took on over as QB1
- 8:43Speaker 1: down in Athens, he played within structure. He played within
- 8:46Speaker 1: a system. He played within an element that made him
- 8:50Speaker 1: feel more comfortable. And slowly but surely, he started to
- 8:52Speaker 1: take on over games. And we saw that moment in
- 8:54Speaker 1: that matchup against Tennessee on the road, fourth quarter, wakes
- 8:59Speaker 1: on up, chooses violence, and he's the big X factor
- 9:01Speaker 1: on what helped them win that matchup. And I don't
- 9:03Speaker 1: know if Philo's there just yet, but here's what I
- 9:05Speaker 1: can tell you. That same type of fire you see
- 9:08Speaker 1: in the eyes of a guy like Gunner Stockton, you
- 9:10Speaker 1: see in the eyes of Aaron Philo. And credit where
- 9:12Speaker 1: credit's due for Buster Faulkner realizing when I got hired
- 9:15Speaker 1: to go down to Gainesville and unite with John Summerall,
- 9:17Speaker 1: I had to get a quarterback that could run my
- 9:19Speaker 1: system and catch everyone up to speed and not panic
- 9:22Speaker 1: in the face of adversity if things started to go south.
- 9:25Speaker 1: That's what you have right now with Aaron Filo leading
- 9:27Speaker 1: the charge. And then when you realize that they try
- 9:29Speaker 1: to really kind of get after Filo, you can go
- 9:31Speaker 1: ahead and say what's going on when it comes to
- 9:34Speaker 1: the run game. And then when they kind of started
- 9:36Speaker 1: boxing on up and putting everyone inside of a hole
- 9:38Speaker 1: to make sure the run game was taken away, that's
- 9:40Speaker 1: where he took a shot sound field. That's where he
- 9:42Speaker 1: saw the explosive plays. And how about John Summerall? After
- 9:46Speaker 1: a timeout called by Pete Golden going, all right, you
- 9:49Speaker 1: want to continue to play this game? I'll run it up.
- 9:51Speaker 1: This is Steve Spurrier motto. Like you talk about what
- 9:54Speaker 1: it means to like go after the quintessential Spurrier 2.0
- 9:58Speaker 1: that is Lane Kiffin. Guys, you got your own version
- 10:01Speaker 1: of a sicko and a madman that just isn't afraid
- 10:04Speaker 1: to go ahead and talk his smack. And he's running
- 10:06Speaker 1: the sideline right now and he's sitting at 4-0. And
- 10:08Speaker 1: this is a team that probably should be ranked inside
- 10:11Speaker 1: the top 10 come Sunday morning. If not, they are.
- 10:14Speaker 1: And honestly, I'd rank them inside the top seven. This
- 10:17Speaker 1: is a promising win after dominating against an Auburn team
- 10:21Speaker 1: in their backyard and shutting them down. And so you've
- 10:24Speaker 1: got to ask yourself, how much more can this offense be?
- 10:28Speaker 1: I also was very pleased with how few penalties there were.
- 10:31Speaker 1: Credit where credit's due to John Summerall getting his team
- 10:34Speaker 1: more prepared. Last week there were 16 penalties called against Auburn.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Partially that was on bad officiating. We can all say that.
- 10:41Speaker 1: But then you've got to throw in the fact that
- 10:42Speaker 1: this game, there was only eight. And I'm not saying
- 10:44Speaker 1: that eight is great. I'm not saying that there were
- 10:46Speaker 1: a couple of pass interference calls that maybe were ticky-tacky
- 10:49Speaker 1: here and there. That's not the point. The point is
- 10:51Speaker 1: that you cut it in half a week after learning
- 10:53Speaker 1: from your mistakes. That's what makes John Summerall so different.
- 10:57Speaker 1: And probably my biggest takeaway here, other than that Jaden
- 11:00Speaker 1: Baugh's a freak, Florida is back in the conversation of
- 11:03Speaker 1: national relevancy. And the future is bright and swamped with
- 11:08Speaker 1: this current regime. This is why coaching is so important
- 11:12Speaker 1: in college football. A guy like John Summerall, who everyone said, hey,
- 11:17Speaker 1: good hire, good coach, but not Lane Kiffin. And there
- 11:20Speaker 1: were even a bunch of Florida fans who I can
- 11:22Speaker 1: still say, you want a Lane Kiffin. Aren't you glad
- 11:24Speaker 1: you don't have him? And I'm not saying that because
- 11:26Speaker 1: to be rude. I'm saying that to be completely honest.
- 11:28Speaker 1: John Summerall wins. John Summerall has gone everywhere in college
- 11:31Speaker 1: football and found a way to win. He was at
- 11:33Speaker 1: Troy for two years. Two Sunbelt titles. Was at Tulane
- 11:36Speaker 1: for two years. Two winning seasons, including a college football
- 11:39Speaker 1: playoff bid. And yet because he came from New Orleans
- 11:42Speaker 1: and you had a guy that was just basically from
- 11:44Speaker 1: the same state that you got your last coach from,
- 11:46Speaker 1: the lazy narrative that existed was we're just going to
- 11:49Speaker 1: get Billy Napier 2.0. We're just going to get defensive
- 11:53Speaker 1: Billy Napier. A guy that is a meathead versus somebody
- 11:56Speaker 1: who is more so quiet and ill-minded and definitely keeps
- 12:00Speaker 1: things close to the sweater vest. How different is it?
- 12:04Speaker 1: Because here's what I can tell you. Good teams find
- 12:07Speaker 1: a way to be able to win. Great teams find
- 12:09Speaker 1: a way to make a statement. And it comes from
- 12:11Speaker 1: leadership at the top. And there's no better leader right
- 12:14Speaker 1: now in college football who has impressed in the first
- 12:16Speaker 1: month than what you have with John Summerall. When your
- 12:19Speaker 1: team is down or your team is up, you don't
- 12:22Speaker 1: take your foot off the gas. When a team answers you,
- 12:26Speaker 1: you respond immediately. When they throw a punch, you throw
- 12:28Speaker 1: two right back. They give you a jab, you give
- 12:31Speaker 1: them an uppercut. When you have to realize that a
- 12:34Speaker 1: week ago, penalties made things feel too close for comfort,
- 12:37Speaker 1: fair or unfair. You nip that in the bud and
- 12:40Speaker 1: you call it a day. And you make sure that
- 12:42Speaker 1: that's not the reason why this game is going down
- 12:44Speaker 1: to the wire. Fair or unfair. I'll say that one
- 12:47Speaker 1: more time because I agree with a lot of Florida fans.
- 12:48Speaker 1: I thought there was a lot of ticky tacky calls
- 12:50Speaker 1: in the game in Jordan Hare, which we're not just
- 12:53Speaker 1: going to call Jaden Hare until further notice. That's really it.
- 12:56Speaker 1: When there is an opportunity to allow somebody to come
- 12:59Speaker 1: back in, you do not flinch. And that's Florida football.
- 13:04Speaker 1: And here's the crazy part. Florida, right now, may be
- 13:08Speaker 1: undefeated going into the month of November. Oh, don't believe me? Well,
- 13:12Speaker 1: let's just look at the tape, shall we? You have
- 13:13Speaker 1: a matchup against Mizzou. And then you have a matchup
- 13:16Speaker 1: against South Carolina. And then afterwards you get to play Texas.
- 13:21Speaker 1: And then you get to go face off against Georgia.
- 13:24Speaker 1: And the Georgia game is the one that I was
- 13:25Speaker 1: talking about. So maybe not actually November, but right before.
- 13:29Speaker 1: Halloween weekend. And you get a bye week in between.
- 13:31Speaker 1: That matchup. You're 6-0 right now looking the way that
- 13:35Speaker 1: I see it. On the road against Mizzou, we don't
- 13:37Speaker 1: know what Mizzou's going to be. But I'll tell you what,
- 13:39Speaker 1: nobody's stopping this Florida offense right now. South Carolina, we've
- 13:43Speaker 1: seen what their defense does when you give them any
- 13:45Speaker 1: opportunity to break. Texas, maybe a low-scoring affair. Maybe a
- 13:49Speaker 1: matchup that does come down to the final nuts and
- 13:52Speaker 1: bolts of a game. I'll tell you what, more discipline,
- 13:55Speaker 1: more physical, and certainly more intimidating offensively on one side
- 14:00Speaker 1: that resides against them versus the one here. That's 7-0.
- 14:03Speaker 1: And if you're 7-0 going into Georgia, World's largest outdoor
- 14:07Speaker 1: cocktail party, which is going to be played in Atlanta,
- 14:08Speaker 1: which is basically a home game, who's to say that
- 14:12Speaker 1: that's not a top 10 matchup? And then let's just
- 14:14Speaker 1: say you win that one and you're sitting at 8-0.
- 14:16Speaker 1: Close out the year with matchups against Oklahoma at Kentucky,
- 14:20Speaker 1: Florida State, and Vanderbilt. If you get past Georgia unscathed,
- 14:25Speaker 1: you're going to the college football playoff. I don't think
- 14:28Speaker 1: that's far-fetched. And in year one, when we talk about
- 14:30Speaker 1: Lane Kiffin and company potentially being in the running to
- 14:33Speaker 1: go to Atlanta, who's to say that that Halloween weekend
- 14:36Speaker 1: trip is not just a preview of what we could
- 14:39Speaker 1: see with two teams in early December? Who's to say?
- 14:43Speaker 1: The way the offense is running, I'm not going to
- 14:45Speaker 1: doubt Buster Faulkner. Best offensive mind in the country. The
- 14:47Speaker 1: way the defense is running and the way that you
- 14:49Speaker 1: know that John Summerall is going to get after his
- 14:51Speaker 1: guys when things go south, I'm not going to doubt it.
- 14:54Speaker 1: And I've already doubted Florida once. And I more so
- 14:57Speaker 1: didn't even doubt Florida. I just doubted that Trinidad Chambliss
- 15:00Speaker 1: was not going to be able to be stopped. And
- 15:02Speaker 1: I look like a fool. And I have egg on
- 15:04Speaker 1: my face. And I'm okay wearing that. Because of what
- 15:06Speaker 1: I saw today was a team that left no shred
- 15:09Speaker 1: of doubt that while the number 21 is attached to
- 15:11Speaker 1: their name, they actually play like number four. They play
- 15:15Speaker 1: like a top 10 team. And they ain't slowing down
- 15:17Speaker 1: anytime soon. Florida fans celebrate this one. Maybe it's a
- 15:22Speaker 1: little bit too early to put the wagon before the horse. Maybe,
- 15:25Speaker 1: just maybe, you're still waiting to figure out if things
- 15:28Speaker 1: are going to go your way. Maybe, just maybe, even
