- 14:35[SPEAKER_17]: It was like, no, but I, you know, that isn't expected to be a close race, but I guess there's some people who are interested in it.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_17]: And then your county legislators, they're all on a post, of course, as they should be.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_17]: That's why I always vote for John Moore in District 15.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_17]: And, of course, the city council race, city judge, that's on a post.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_17]: You know, what else if we got that's about it, you got something on your mind and want to talk free of charge, at least do so, that's why we're here on this day before it.

- 16:18[SPEAKER_17]: Have them buy me like a cell on EBT card, not give them half the dollar amount in cash.

- 21:13[SPEAKER_24]: just don't say it off and enough.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_24]: Thank you for listening to the station that listens to you.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_24]: The news in talk authority, WATN, AM-1244.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_17]: Hey, I'm 1240.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_17]: Well, the White House is just announced that they will be using some kind of contingency snap money, whatever that is, on a provide partial funding for snap, that's a food assistance.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_17]: This whole thing.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_17]: Let me tell you, let's talk private sector.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_17]: If I, I can't ask people to work and not pay them, you have to pay them.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_17]: Otherwise it's witch theft or whatever you want to call it, but this goes on and we get judges and involved in everything else.
- 22:03[SPEAKER_17]: It's not just this and whether it's Trump's fault or a shoe or a shutdown, it goes on all the time.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_17]: people who tell you don't get to run your household this way.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_17]: If you got a fee, your family tells you you can't feel it because we didn't get funding this week from somewhere, you find a way to do it, if you have to incur debt to do it, whatever, but this is just, I am so tired of these things.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_17]: I've been watching them for 30 years now.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_17]: and uh... brought you everybody blame it everybody it's the same old game right now it's on bad works bad you know taco taco whatever they say and it's just like get out of here get out of here okay and can fox news i mean is is horrible as the church clerk thing was and is wrong as it was
- 23:00[SPEAKER_17]: As sad as it was and unnecessary and we hoped the worst for the shooter, but it's only talk about all the time.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_17]: I mean, really, and then in the parallel universe, I'm seeing any, you know, here about it and all that.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_17]: I mean, that's the way it works in the news business, but can we hear about something else?
- 23:23[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_17]: I don't know.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_17]: Just the thought.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_17]: I'm not being in sense.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_17]: I don't know.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_17]: Oh, let's see, from threatens to walk out a Norr O'Donnell less 60 minutes and it's out amazing, astonishing meltdown.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_17]: Oh my god, stop.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_17]: Oh, these things, I get so sick of all this.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_17]: The world around us.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_17]: Yep.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_17]: Well, let's see what else is going on.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_17]: That's about it.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_17]: I don't know.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_17]: Do you have any final thoughts?
- 24:00[SPEAKER_17]: Is anybody voting tomorrow?
- 24:02[SPEAKER_17]: Is our neighbor over there across the parking lot?
- 24:04[SPEAKER_17]: Is he voting?
- 24:06[SPEAKER_17]: What about the angry man already said who he's voting for?
- 24:09[SPEAKER_17]: He already offered just one of his endorsements, not both of them.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_17]: I don't know.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_17]: I just... You know, I talked to people.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_17]: They say, I don't think I'm registered.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_17]: I look it up on the B.O.E.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_17]: website.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_17]: Yes, you are.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_17]: Who's we evoked?
- 24:23[SPEAKER_17]: Oh, I don't know.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_17]: I don't know if I can make it.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_17]: Hold on, chief.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_17]: And then we hear all this talk about, oh, our democracy.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_17]: Trump's trying to take away our democracy and the people saying it, don't vote.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_17]: And then I read this thing this morning, oh, a million people threw threatening to leave New York City if Mom and Tommy wins.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_17]: I don't think that's happening.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_17]: But hey, eight million people are you voting?
- 24:47[SPEAKER_17]: Well, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, then don't complain about it.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_17]: Because if a million people voted, Mom and Tommy probably wouldn't win.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_17]: So that's, it's just that a million people find it hard to vote for Andrew Cromwell.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_17]: That's what, oh, oh my god.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_17]: Make sure skin crawled, isn't it?
- 25:10[SPEAKER_17]: And then, you know, slew why he's not going to win anyways, he's just a bad fly, but I don't know what to say.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_17]: Well, what else is going on?
- 25:27[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_17]: Nothing else you want to talk about, no?
- 25:32[SPEAKER_17]: Can't really have any candidates call in because that wouldn't be right.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_17]: Now, how do I see this election?
- 25:38[SPEAKER_17]: City election, sure.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_17]: Well, I try to be analytical about it.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_17]: I look at the primary results about 1800 people voted.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_17]: I figure about 27 or 800 were vote in the general, so you'll have those additional voters who they vote for, I don't know.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_17]: But you have the, there are three groups from that primary.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_17]: There were sheriff voters of which were 390.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_17]: And the shore, Bob Shore, and Colin Burns voters.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_17]: Where do they go?
- 26:09[SPEAKER_17]: Who are they most likely to vote for?
- 26:12[SPEAKER_17]: And I think the main benefit shareings of those votes will be probably Osborne and Velasquez.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_17]: Just analytical not preference, not saying anything.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_17]: Just the way I see that.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_17]: And well, on the other hand, Mr. Garibrand was first in the primer, so he's got a build-in edge there.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_17]: But I think overall the race is going to be pretty darn close.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_17]: Yep, pretty darn close.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_17]: What do we got?
- 26:41[SPEAKER_17]: There's a person who says, I have a mortgage through the federal government, USDA.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_17]: They are still taking my payment and mailing bills to me.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_17]: Is the government closed or not?
- 26:50[SPEAKER_17]: Well, it really isn't closed.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_17]: That's the, that's the, that's the,
- 26:54[SPEAKER_17]: But after noon or on the air.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_18]: Hello, Jeff.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_18]: Yes, sweet.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_18]: Where are the solutions?
- 27:02[SPEAKER_18]: I know I've contacted you before about more financial education in the school.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_18]: Some of these problems are multi-generational.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_18]: And people are getting the training and how to handle money.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_18]: I wanted to ask you if you were a ruler of the world.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_18]: What would be your first solution?
- 27:26[SPEAKER_17]: Well, you're right.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_17]: I mean, financial education and civics are, it's just not, they're too busy, busy teaching, gender dysphoria or something like that.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_17]: But, um,
- 27:38[SPEAKER_17]: I think it starts in the home.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_17]: I know what I know about finance and business and things like payroll and how it works and everything is because when I was growing up, I was in a family of, you know, I step farther was a physician, my mom helped run in the business and so I, you know, I soaked a lot of this in.
- 27:57[SPEAKER_17]: So I think it really has to start in the home because you're right, people, you've got people now.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_17]: listening to Johnny show not mine with Johnny show who've never never written a check and no knowledge of any of that so yeah i'd say it starts in the home but not much goes on there as far as civics i don't know i mean a lot of i don't think the system is inclined to want to want to teach that right yes um... because of me and days i i am
- 28:35[SPEAKER_18]: After retired as a teacher, I worked on getting financial education schools.
- 28:40[SPEAKER_18]: On the government representatives, even in the New York State Controllers office.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_18]: Everybody thought it was a good idea, and many years later it hasn't been implemented.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_18]: And the unfortunate thing, again, multi-generational, some kids don't learn this at home.
- 29:04[SPEAKER_18]: I think I'm older than you.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_18]: My parents lived through the depression, skills they learned and they've done to me and I'm totally grateful for that.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_18]: But you have to remember men and kids don't have that.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_18]: My story was one of my students came in after a snowstorm and said, teacher, that was quite the snowstorm we had.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_18]: This was locally and the student
- 29:33[SPEAKER_18]: on my bed spread.
- 29:35[SPEAKER_18]: And that's that we have poverty here and with the food steps, yes, there's something wrong with the whole system.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_18]: And we have to look for solutions quick of fighting and help these people, especially kids who, um,
- 29:55[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah, I don't know.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_17]: I mean, look at everybody says, oh, the heck with those people there, they're lazy, whatever, but every Friday I see a whole line of people down factory street waiting in line for food at a food bank in all kinds of weather And it's got to be a better way.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_17]: I mean, to distribute that in a way that's not so degrading is just stand out at a cold rainy day Waiting for a handout of food.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_17]: I mean, I know what the other answer is.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_17]: Well, go get a job or whatever
- 30:25[SPEAKER_17]: There's a lot of issues there, but I don't, I don't like to see that, but it goes on every week I see it when I drive by.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_18]: Well, to give you a little tanger stuff, there's a thing called man, man flows higher argue of needs, and down at the bottom, there's some, there's needs that you need in life to be self-actualized or, or get, I don't know, it'd be a productive life, down at the bottom, there's good, shelter, and closing.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_18]: Next is security.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_18]: Next is a feeling of belonging.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_18]: Another, you know, self-esteem and then finally, you get there, but the basic is food, shelter, and clothing.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_18]: You know that, you need that to survive and to make
- 31:15[SPEAKER_17]: But I know that, but we're teaching the lesson being learned today is not that you go and work for it.
- 31:22[SPEAKER_17]: It's given to you.
- 31:23[SPEAKER_17]: We're going to give you a free bus trip, so we're going to give you a free food.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_17]: We're going to give you a free this and that.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_17]: And it's a bad message.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_17]: I mean, that's why on a winter snowy winter day, you see zero teenagers with a snow shovel over their shoulder.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_18]: Exactly.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_18]: So we have to change the mindset that it is not
- 31:45[SPEAKER_17]: How many kids, how many teenagers, how many teenagers are out raking leaves for money this fall?
- 31:52[SPEAKER_17]: None.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_18]: All right.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_18]: Sir, my friend, something is wrong with the system, something is wrong with the culture and instead of fighting and you know, elections and who's going to win everything, we've got to work at solutions.
- 32:08[SPEAKER_18]: Okay.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_18]: introduce, I think, in the 50s or something, I remember the date, but there you go, get in your pocket.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_18]: And all this thing, a lot of these things are mine and commercials and everything to spend, spend, spend, spend on stupid things.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_18]: And yeah, we have to work on the culture, the, and those of mine's said, not in fact the nation, but helping people be the best they can.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_18]: And if they're stopped, it's
- 32:45[SPEAKER_17]: Well, you were a good teacher, I'm sure, but I don't know what they teach in schools now.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_17]: I really don't.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_18]: I know.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_18]: Well, then, sir, maybe they'll meet you someday, and I'll show you my research.
- 32:57[SPEAKER_18]: We've got to work on solutions.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_18]: We just can't keep shouting at each other and calling each other names.
- 33:07[SPEAKER_18]: That's my lesson for today and I enjoy listening to others in every day.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_18]: Well, I'm really tired of teacher.
- 33:17[SPEAKER_18]: Well, I'm cleaning up my kitchen.
- 33:18[SPEAKER_18]: I listen to every day.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_17]: Well, thank you.
- 33:20[SPEAKER_18]: By the sociological pulse of the North country.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_17]: So, thank you.
- 33:25[SPEAKER_17]: Well, thank you, ma'am.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_17]: And who says I don't like teachers and I love teachers.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_17]: Um, you know, I listen to that and I say there's so many people like that lady who listen every day.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_17]: And I talk to them all and I run into them all the time.
- 33:39[SPEAKER_17]: People not just our friends in the town of Pinkney or the Danck landfill or over the county highway department.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_17]: They listen all the time or people like the lady who just called and it's amazing, amazing.
- 33:52[SPEAKER_17]: Um, and it's a great great honor and responsibility.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_17]: Okay.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_17]: All righty, let's see, we've got I think if we don't have any air traffic, we don't have air traffic controlers in Watertown, do we?
- 34:15[SPEAKER_17]: No.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_17]: But that's kind of scary, which is getting up, going up plainly this week, I don't know.
- 34:21[SPEAKER_17]: And wait a thanksgiving.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_17]: Now if they keep it going that long.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_17]: Amazing, isn't it?
- 34:28[SPEAKER_17]: Amazing.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_17]: What do we, you know, I, one of the things the president talked about when he got back from his Asia trip was how foreign leaders said, what the heck's going on?
- 34:37[SPEAKER_17]: How can he do the happen they just shut that down?
- 34:40[SPEAKER_17]: We just do it.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_17]: Because we're stupid, that's why.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_17]: Why do we put it up with that?
- 34:47[SPEAKER_17]: Well, because we really don't have any say in it, you know, we're told who to vote for and we vote for them and this is what they do.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_17]: I mean, with the electric Schumer not, isn't this on acceptable, what's going on if he has the means to correct it and he does, because he's afraid of the Marxist wing of the Democratic party.
- 35:14[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_17]: Well, I thought Mom Dami was a little out there, at least he's charming, but that one is running in that.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_17]: There's something.
- 35:32[SPEAKER_17]: You know what other issue?
- 35:33[SPEAKER_17]: Well, we've got to do a break.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_17]: Well, we'll do that and be right back.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_24]: We're interesting talk around the clock.
- 35:39[SPEAKER_24]: Depend on the news and talk authority.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_27]: WATM-1240.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_27]: You've been hearing about herages contracting.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_27]: And now, your roof is leaking, so get on the phone now.
- 35:50[SPEAKER_27]: And call 315-782-9129.
- 35:52[SPEAKER_27]: And get your roof repaired or replace all the gather.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_27]: Roof leaking?
- 35:56[SPEAKER_27]: Call herages now.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_27]: The roof people who always call you back.
- 36:01[SPEAKER_12]: Many times Supreme Court is not a place we want to find ourselves, whether it's going through a divorce, being sued or navigating mental guardianship for a loved one, appearing in Supreme Court can be a low point in our life.
- 36:15[SPEAKER_12]: That's why it's so important to have the right judge on the bench that can ensure your rights are protected.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_12]: I'm Judge Candice Randall, and I have a proven record of fairness and competence as a town justice.
- 36:28[SPEAKER_12]: As a small business owner and mother of four, I understand the challenges we all face in our community, and that the law must be administered with integrity, common sense, and compassion.
- 36:41[SPEAKER_12]: I believe that our local Supreme Court should stand as the bulwark to the rule of law, and that partisan politics has no place in the courtroom.
- 36:50[SPEAKER_34]: So on November 4th, vote for fairness, integrity, and compassion by voting for Judge Candace Randall for New York Supreme Court, paid for by Friends of Judge Randall.

- 38:29[SPEAKER_35]: A slip and fall may sound minor, but when it's serious, the impact can be devastating.
- 38:35[SPEAKER_35]: It's the only law we use the Stanley System that dig deep.
- 38:38[SPEAKER_35]: We uncover security footage, maintenance records, and expert testimony, and hold the property owners accountable.
- 38:45[SPEAKER_35]: Slip and fall make the call because you deserve the maximum award.
- 38:50[SPEAKER_35]: Just get here, we'll make sure you get it.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_08]: This is Pete Monaco and I am a candidate for a seat on the Watertown City Council.
- 39:04[SPEAKER_08]: I need your vote to make my campaign a success and lead the city back to fiscal responsibility.
- 39:10[SPEAKER_08]: The city is in this deep fiscal abyss by trying to spend their way into prosperity.
- 39:15[SPEAKER_08]: The city is only going to get expenses in check by spending less.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_08]: Personnel cost are 65 to 70% of the budget.
- 39:23[SPEAKER_08]: The next two to three fiscal years, all programs and positions will need to be carefully analyzed.
- 39:30[SPEAKER_08]: Tough decision will need to be made.
- 39:32[SPEAKER_08]: The last two adopted budgets had tax increases of 79% that are unacceptable.
- 39:38[SPEAKER_08]: The New York State tax cap is 2%.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_08]: When I am elected,
- 39:42[SPEAKER_08]: I will ask for monthly finance reports and personnel vacancies.
- 39:46[SPEAKER_08]: I also propose a thorough study of the city's fleet.
- 39:49[SPEAKER_08]: By voting for me on November 4th, you're voting for the city to remain a viable place where people choose to live.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_08]: Thank you, paid for by Pete Monaco for Watertown City Council.

- 40:25[SPEAKER_17]: Okay, we're back back on the hotline here.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_17]: I'm Jeff Graham and you know one of the interesting things a lot of pitch-on-time people like to you know when they're voting and they're candidate you like to put out a picture of you voting.
- 40:36[SPEAKER_17]: Remember the old days when you'd be coming out of the voting booth and curtain opens or something?
- 40:40[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah, that was the old days.
- 40:41[SPEAKER_17]: Well, of course now you put that paper in the reader there.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_17]: One of the candidates was putting the paper in the reader and posted on Facebook and you could see all the dots on it.
- 40:50[SPEAKER_17]: If you compare it to a real ballot, you know who he voted for.
- 40:54[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah.
- 40:57[SPEAKER_17]: Isn't that something?
- 41:00[SPEAKER_17]: Like we could see he voted for meks, or we could see he didn't vote for a county legislator.
- 41:08[SPEAKER_17]: He voted for Judge McCloskey and then moved up to line A for three Democrats Randall Dylan and Gerald Snodgerard Snider voted for Judge Dohini and then voted for himself for council.
- 41:23[SPEAKER_17]: I'm idle cared and bothered me.
- 41:25[SPEAKER_17]: I don't know.
- 41:25[SPEAKER_17]: The fact my life I already voted.
- 41:28[SPEAKER_17]: But um... That's something.
- 41:31[SPEAKER_17]: But after dinner I'm here.
- 41:34[SPEAKER_21]: Hey man, how are you today?
- 41:35[SPEAKER_17]: Alright, what's up?
- 41:39[SPEAKER_17]: over under and clip only what do you think that's going to be all you mean uh... under on your vote i would think i think he gets a well he surprised me in the primary when he got a hundred and seventy although i i think the media is pretty well boxed about the race here with a November one so yeah he might get under a hundred now do you think the media is boxed about
- 42:08[SPEAKER_17]: Well, that too.
- 42:09[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah, I mean, they've made sure.
- 42:11[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah, well, I mean, obviously, he's welcome to do what he wants, but I don't think you're going to see enough people right Amanda, I like them, but it's just right to do that.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_21]: If you're going to, if you're going to be a guest and man, do you think he gets over 100 votes though?
- 42:34[SPEAKER_17]: I'm thinking
- 42:38[SPEAKER_21]: What do you think the chances are on a dot park now zero now the class out that was at that stage only chance I don't think there was ever a real chance at that that now they're never there never was a chance was there no you have a great day man.
- 42:50[SPEAKER_17]: All right.
- 42:50[SPEAKER_17]: Thank you.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_17]: It's more or less.
- 42:52[SPEAKER_17]: Oh wait a minute.
- 42:52[SPEAKER_17]: Did you vote yet?
- 42:54[UNKNOWN]: Well, I'm I live in a poor point.
- 42:56[SPEAKER_21]: So there's there's limited for me to vote on.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_17]: So are you just going to skip it?
- 43:03[SPEAKER_21]: I couldn't even tell you who's running for what I think I know someone's running on
- 43:08[SPEAKER_17]: Oh, you've got there's a race for county clerk that's contested and there's four seats on stage Supreme Court Plus a statewide proposition.
- 43:17[SPEAKER_17]: So you're gonna you're gonna just sit at home.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_21]: I'm yeah.
- 43:21[SPEAKER_21]: I'm a little bit less than incident state Supreme Court And I wouldn't I wouldn't be able to tell you who the the current clerk's office is.
- 43:28[SPEAKER_17]: Oh, okay.
- 43:29[SPEAKER_21]: Oh, you're probably right.
- 43:30[SPEAKER_21]: I don't feel I've got any type of uh, you know, a bite in this
- 43:34[SPEAKER_21]: this little election, so I'm probably not going to be going at all, nothing that interests me or I think is even a duty at this point.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_17]: Do you disagree, even actually really be on it?
- 43:45[SPEAKER_17]: Well, I think it's an obligation.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_17]: I mean, you know, I mean, we hear a lot of talk about democracy.
- 43:51[SPEAKER_17]: I'd like to see more contested races.
- 43:53[SPEAKER_17]: I'd like to see us be able to elect the chief executive officers of urbanism abilities.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_17]: I'd like to see some real competition for county legislature.
- 44:04[SPEAKER_17]: You're not going to get that by just sitting at home.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_17]: I know you're pretty busy, but couldn't.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_20]: You're on me voting for to make much of a difference on that.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_17]: You haven't got time to go down to that.
- 44:13[SPEAKER_17]: The fire hall on pillar point or whatever it is that you vote.
- 44:17[SPEAKER_21]: Stop that exact where I go and I do have time.
- 44:19[SPEAKER_21]: I just don't necessarily show the interest.
- 44:21[SPEAKER_21]: And I don't think that there's much to vote.
- 44:24[SPEAKER_21]: I think even though things are going on to pose, I don't think there's going to be any ground breaking decisions made.
- 44:30[UNKNOWN]: But that's only me.
- 44:31[SPEAKER_21]: If I was in the city, I would be
- 44:34[SPEAKER_17]: And who would you vote for?
- 44:37[SPEAKER_21]: I think without going into a name, I'm going to say there's only one that has past city experience.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_20]: Mm-hmm.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_21]: That'd be the one person I would think would be the very best of both on it.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_21]: Although I do do a thing Doug Giles born sounds really smart.
- 44:51[SPEAKER_21]: I've met him a couple times.
- 44:52[SPEAKER_21]: I think you would be a good candidate.
- 44:54[SPEAKER_21]: Other than that, I'm not going to dig much, much deeper than that.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_21]: But you know, I think if you have someone who's already worked in the city, already knows the ins and outs, already seems to have good ideas.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_21]: that might be the person to put in there, but you know, what do I know?
- 45:07[SPEAKER_21]: I voted for you.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_21]: You know, I might not have the best vote all the time.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_17]: There you go.
- 45:11[SPEAKER_17]: All righty.
- 45:11[SPEAKER_17]: Well, thank you.
- 45:13[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah, I think I think that gentlemen is typical of so many.
- 45:17[SPEAKER_17]: We have in our community in our county.
- 45:21[SPEAKER_17]: Last year, we had a presidential race.
- 45:23[SPEAKER_17]: And is that consequential?
- 45:24[SPEAKER_17]: Some people would think, Kamala Harris versus Donald Trump's Consequential, but you know, if you walk down the street and you saw two people,
- 45:35[SPEAKER_17]: That's simple.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_17]: So, you know, we talk about democracy, but most of the people who run around talking about our democracy, or January 6, they're all of that, they don't vote either, like this guy who just called.
- 45:49[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah, he's a business person, got a nice house out there, lives right near Billy, I think.
- 45:56[SPEAKER_17]: And, you know, hasn't got...
- 46:00[SPEAKER_17]: would see get new cars start the car back in all the driveway drive over to the fire station that's got to be less than ten minutes on pillow point you can have the whole thing done in twenty minutes without even breaking the speed limit but he won't do it and i understand a lot most of you aren't i don't know a lot of you are forty you know something that i was watching it's on td constantly well first of all all of these commercials for
- 46:25[SPEAKER_17]: tunnel the towers and all these other groups that you know the sob stories but the one with the Russian women are Ukrainian women have whatever and the old lady they say is ninety six and is a Holocaust survivor got blessed with a few years and even show your arm and a decal on it or uh... you know a tattoo
- 46:50[SPEAKER_17]: And but I don't know if she's real because all these well-dressed people come to this what looks to be a shack in the middle of nowhere with the box of food.
- 47:01[SPEAKER_17]: And and she's got this beat up pot on the stove and they open it up and it looks like this horrible rule inside.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_17]: She talks about actually has half a carrot eat for dinner and all this other stuff and it's just like I don't think it's real.
- 47:17[SPEAKER_17]: I think these.
- 47:19[SPEAKER_17]: You know, ladies and the commercials are like character actresses in New York City or in Hollywood or something.
- 47:24[SPEAKER_17]: I mean, in that little shack, I mean, how did they come across that?
- 47:29[SPEAKER_17]: Where did they find it?
- 47:31[SPEAKER_17]: I just don't believe any of it's real, do you?
- 47:35[SPEAKER_17]: They want us to believe it's real and send a money, but and even if I felt bad enough and even if I believed it,
- 47:46[SPEAKER_17]: Why do I think a couple of people, well-dressed people, showing up at this shack out in the middle of the Ukraine somewhere, which is a war zone.
- 47:52[SPEAKER_17]: No, I stay hurt.
- 47:53[SPEAKER_17]: With a box of food, it didn't even look like good food.
- 47:58[SPEAKER_17]: No, I don't know.
- 48:00[SPEAKER_17]: Maybe you have a different view on it.
- 48:04[SPEAKER_17]: Anyway, 755, 1240 is the phone number.
- 48:07[SPEAKER_17]: If you'd like to give us a call, to be on the show of shows today.
- 48:10[SPEAKER_17]: And we'll go back to it.
- 48:17[SPEAKER_17]: Oh, I have to say it again about tomorrow if you do decide to vote in your city resident.
- 48:30[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah, city resident means you live in the city.
- 48:33[SPEAKER_17]: There's six polling places you want me to read them off to you.
- 48:37[SPEAKER_17]: There's the church on Chestnut Street, Stone Press, Baterian.
- 48:42[SPEAKER_17]: There's the church of the Nazarene on Thompson Boulevard.
- 48:46[SPEAKER_17]: those mid-town towers the high-rise apartment building on mechanic street those sacred heart church or the actually the wrecked river behind the church that's over on the north side it's on westward isn't it yeah and then you've got uh... with the two other ones oh trinity church it's on sherman and stone street
- 49:12[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah, and he's got the same Anthony's church down on Arsenal street, right there at the corner with Bellow Avenue there.
- 49:24[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah, those are six polling.
- 49:27[SPEAKER_17]: They call them voting centers now.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_17]: Again, if you're my age group, you say, well, where's my polling place?
- 49:34[SPEAKER_17]: Why is my polling place?
- 49:35[SPEAKER_17]: Well, wait a minute.
- 49:37[SPEAKER_17]: Those six places, I just mentioned.
- 49:39[SPEAKER_17]: You can vote at any of them.
- 49:41[SPEAKER_17]: It'll print a ballot specific to your residence.
- 49:45[SPEAKER_17]: So if you live on Ohio street, you say, I can't.
- 49:48[SPEAKER_17]: I don't know where to go.
- 49:49[SPEAKER_17]: I don't know what to do.
- 49:52[SPEAKER_17]: You know?
- 49:53[SPEAKER_17]: So you say it, but I do have to go to Walmart, say, well, on your way to Walmart to stop at St. Anthony's.
- 49:59[SPEAKER_17]: Can I vote there?
- 50:00[SPEAKER_17]: Yes, you can.
- 50:01[SPEAKER_17]: You live over on Superior Street.
- 50:05[SPEAKER_17]: Do I have to go over to seeing it?
- 50:07[SPEAKER_17]: No.
- 50:07[SPEAKER_17]: You can go over to Sacred Heart if you want.
- 50:11[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah.
- 50:12[SPEAKER_17]: It's a new concept.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_17]: It's a good one.
- 50:14[SPEAKER_17]: Makes it easier.
- 50:16[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah.
- 50:18[SPEAKER_17]: Good afternoon around the air.
- 50:20[SPEAKER_19]: Yeah, I'm Mr. Mayor.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah.
- 50:23[SPEAKER_19]: Yeah, I want to go some more.
- 50:24[SPEAKER_19]: I'm going here at Midtown.
- 50:25[SPEAKER_19]: You were saying about how so many people got there right in.
- 50:33[SPEAKER_19]: others and didn't write in, well, I was one of them because when they moved up from here to the church on the north side, like, well, I'm like, well, I'm like, well, I'm like, well, I'm like, well, I'm like, well, I'm like, well, I'm like, well, I'm like, well, I'm like, well, I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like
- 51:02[SPEAKER_19]: OK, I didn't use my right and they will let me go right there in person.
- 51:07[SPEAKER_17]: Right, so you had an absentee sent to you, but you choose not to use it.
- 51:12[SPEAKER_17]: Right.
- 51:13[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah, I think all you have to do is not send it in, but if you want to bring it down or the I'm sure that makes it easier.
- 51:19[SPEAKER_19]: Yeah, yeah, that's what happens last year, yeah.
- 51:22[SPEAKER_19]: I'd like to board every year.
- 51:24[SPEAKER_19]: Well, that's good that you do.
- 51:32[SPEAKER_19]: And I didn't go broke that didn't feel good there.
- 51:35[SPEAKER_19]: They like you said, oh, it's raining now.
- 51:37[SPEAKER_19]: And I don't feel good.
- 51:39[SPEAKER_19]: And the guy's asked by two votes and of me and my wife would have voted and we would have brought a party with us.
- 51:47[SPEAKER_20]: All right.
- 51:48[SPEAKER_19]: Yeah, would have checked it.
- 51:50[SPEAKER_20]: So I don't know.
- 51:51[SPEAKER_17]: Well, yeah, no, I'm going to vote.
- 51:54[SPEAKER_17]: That's true.
- 51:54[SPEAKER_17]: And that's why it's good to early vote because tomorrow.
- 51:57[SPEAKER_17]: It would be all my kid is sick.
- 51:59[SPEAKER_17]: I don't feel good.
- 52:00[SPEAKER_17]: It's raining out.
- 52:01[SPEAKER_17]: It's this.
- 52:02[SPEAKER_17]: It's that I got to watch prices right and I fell asleep, but you know, You'd be surprised.
- 52:10[SPEAKER_17]: There's probably I don't know how many apartments are at midtown.
- 52:14[SPEAKER_17]: But if there is.
- 52:15[SPEAKER_20]: That many.
- 52:15[SPEAKER_20]: All right.
- 52:17[SPEAKER_17]: Well, if there's a hundred registered voters, probably only 30 or 40 a vote.
- 52:22[SPEAKER_17]: And all they got to do is get the elevator.
- 52:26[SPEAKER_19]: Well, I don't, I don't, yeah, I'm old.
- 52:33[SPEAKER_17]: I have a, I used to vote there, and I don't, I'm sure I really vote now, but now that you can go to any of the six locations, I don't know where I got it.
- 52:45[SPEAKER_19]: I read the candidates review within Sunday's paper, and all of them said they want to
- 52:55[SPEAKER_19]: And nobody said nothing anything about the zoo.
- 53:00[SPEAKER_19]: So I think I've just got a right answer, quote, quote, quote, quote, quote.
- 53:05[SPEAKER_17]: Uh, is like Mickey Mouse and, uh, and that's, that's not, that's.
- 53:11[SPEAKER_17]: That's what a point.
- 53:11[SPEAKER_17]: That's point.
- 53:12[SPEAKER_17]: Well, that's pointless.
- 53:14[SPEAKER_17]: Doesn't get reported in the media.
- 53:15[SPEAKER_17]: No one knows other than you.
- 53:17[SPEAKER_17]: Now you got to pick the two that think, or most agreeable to you if it's the zoo issue, I would say,
- 53:25[SPEAKER_17]: probably the most agreeable to your viewpoint to be what garabrand and i's born i i'm just guessing okay i'll go get a bit of that one that well you do that but i'm i'm not endorsing anybody but i'm just saying on that one issue i think they'd be most in line with what the way you feel yeah because yeah the other issues i think there's all uh... nothing that really struck me right right you're going to get a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a lot
- 53:57[SPEAKER_17]: Well, okay.
- 53:59[SPEAKER_17]: Hi, Ben.
- 53:59[SPEAKER_17]: Hi, Ben.
