- 0:00SPEAKER_06: There's a great big beautiful tomorrow.
- 0:04SPEAKER_06: Shining at the end of every day.
- 0:08SPEAKER_06: There's a great big beautiful tomorrow.
- 0:12SPEAKER_06: Just a dream.
- 0:14SPEAKER_03: Welcome to Vice and Main Street Men.
- 0:16SPEAKER_03: I am Tristan.
- 0:18SPEAKER_03: And I am Sean.
- 0:19SPEAKER_03: And we have like a round table.
- 0:21SPEAKER_03: We'll call it that, right?
- 0:23SPEAKER_03: We have a lot of guests.
- 0:26SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 0:28SPEAKER_03: It's amazing to have all of you here.
- 0:30SPEAKER_03: Aaron and Emily and Katie and Keegan.
- 0:32SPEAKER_03: Katie and Keegan have been on the show before, I believe.
- 0:35SPEAKER_03: Am I making this up?
- 0:36SPEAKER_03: They haven't.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: Actually, no.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: We've lived a very long time, but no.
- 0:40SPEAKER_04: Keegan was on for the 200th anniversary, 200th anniversary, the 200th episode, I think.
- 0:45SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 0:46SPEAKER_05: I don't even think I was on that one.
- 0:47SPEAKER_05: I had been on with you once, though, Sean, when Tristan was off uh performing in another show.
- 0:53SPEAKER_05: I stood in as a guest host one time.
- 0:55SPEAKER_05: And then I've created brackets for the show.
- 0:58SPEAKER_04: Oh, yes.
- 1:00SPEAKER_04: There you go.
- 1:00SPEAKER_04: So he is responsible for content.
- 1:02SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 1:02SPEAKER_03: Well, welcome back, Keegan, and welcome, Katie.
- 1:05SPEAKER_03: That's so cool.
- 1:06SPEAKER_03: And then Emily Aaron, uh longtime listener, first time guest.
- 1:11SPEAKER_03: That's exciting.
- 1:12SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 1:12SPEAKER_03: Um I'm just thrilled that you guys are here, and you guys have all been to Disneyland Paris, a place where I have not been, sadly.
- 1:20SPEAKER_03: I have plans.
- 1:21SPEAKER_03: I have big plans, and I'm excited to hear from all of you.
- 1:24SPEAKER_03: So this is so cool.
- 1:25SPEAKER_03: Thank you for joining us.
- 1:28SPEAKER_02: Thank you, Ravana.
- 1:30SPEAKER_04: I guess let's dive in and get things started.
- 1:33SPEAKER_04: Maybe each of you giving us a brief brief synopsis of when your love of Disney started, as well as kind of your Disney park travel history and why specifically you chose Disneyland Paris for 2026.
- 1:46SPEAKER_04: And so Emily, why don't you get us rolling?
- 1:49SPEAKER_02: Oh, okay.
- 1:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah, sure.
- 1:51SPEAKER_02: Um, so my earliest memory of my love of Disney started in the early 90s when Beauty and the Beast came out as a little girl.
- 1:59SPEAKER_02: I fell in love with Belle.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: Literally same.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: That was my one thing.
- 2:04SPEAKER_02: I have memories of dressing up as Belle in her gold dress.
- 2:09SPEAKER_02: And like from then on, it was a love story.
- 2:13SPEAKER_02: Um, so uh I just grew up watching the movies, all of the movies, like the Renaissance era of the 90s was just like top-notch, but continuing to follow up with Disney, all things Disney.
- 2:25SPEAKER_02: Now, the parks, though, our parents weren't really big into traveling to Disney, you know, they kind of thought it was overhyped, you know, um, not their way of wanting to spend summer vacations.
- 2:38SPEAKER_02: So Aaron and I didn't go till we were 31 years old to the to Walt Disney World for our first time.
- 2:46SPEAKER_03: I was 31, yes.
- 2:47SPEAKER_04: I mean you were members of the Tristan Club.
- 2:50SPEAKER_04: Emily and Aaron, by the way, by the way, audio visitors, Emily and Aaron are twins, correct?
- 2:55SPEAKER_01: Oh yes, yeah, that sounds we may speak at the same time.
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: Yes, sorry.
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: Or for each other, for each other.
- 3:02SPEAKER_04: So you came to it late in life.
- 3:04SPEAKER_04: Yes, as Tristan did.
- 3:06SPEAKER_04: So how how often, how often have you gone?
- 3:09SPEAKER_01: Uh well, our first trip was actually over Christmas and New Year's, so that was kind of amazing.
- 3:15SPEAKER_01: That was overwhelming.
- 3:16SPEAKER_01: That was overwhelming.
- 3:17SPEAKER_04: Um just just this past Christmas and New Year's or what?
- 3:21SPEAKER_01: No, our very first time ever to Disney.
- 3:23SPEAKER_01: Um we've gone how many times?
- 3:29SPEAKER_01: Probably four or five times to Disney World, yeah, and then once to Disneyland, yeah, California.
- 3:35SPEAKER_02: And we're hoping to go next spring for the flower and garden festival.
- 3:39SPEAKER_02: That is a dream of mine.
- 3:40SPEAKER_04: Yes, nice, it's a great time to go.
- 3:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 3:44SPEAKER_04: Oh well, we and and Aaron, you're pretty much the same because you're a twin.
- 3:49SPEAKER_01: I mean, yes, but like Cinderella is my favorite Disney princess.
- 3:54SPEAKER_01: And honestly, um, Stitch is my love of like I love Stitch so much.
- 3:58SPEAKER_01: So um uh those are my two favorites, and probably got me into Disney full force.
- 4:05SPEAKER_01: So yes.
- 4:06SPEAKER_04: I love it.
- 4:07SPEAKER_04: All right, all right.
- 4:07SPEAKER_04: Well, Katie, we determined that you sort of started out the same way.
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah, Emily and I are on the same wavelength.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: So I'll toss it over to Keekan.
- 4:14SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 4:16SPEAKER_05: My mom was super into Winnie the Pooh.
- 4:18SPEAKER_05: So Winnie the Pooh, animals, books, you name it.
- 4:23SPEAKER_05: So like that's an early imprint.
- 4:24SPEAKER_05: And I didn't we didn't go all the time, but I do have key memories as a kind of a memory as a baby, whether it's a real memory or I've made it up in my brain.
- 4:34SPEAKER_05: But I know I've seen the pictures exist.
- 4:36SPEAKER_05: Um, and then some key points in my childhood um that I remember.
- 4:40SPEAKER_05: One particular, my mom uh gets motion sick, and so she wrote Star Tours, and they were told her it'll be fine, it'll be fine.
- 4:47SPEAKER_05: And then uh we sat outside of that Star Tours bin for a very long time, long enough that a very kind cast member had the Ninja Turtles come over um and say hi to us while we were sitting there waiting.
- 5:00SPEAKER_05: Ninja Turtles?
- 5:02SPEAKER_05: Wow, it was a thing at that time.
- 5:04SPEAKER_04: Um I'm telling you Disney had Ninja Turtles?
- 5:07SPEAKER_05: Uh-huh.
- 5:07SPEAKER_05: It was when they were look it up, it's there.
- 5:10SPEAKER_04: That's great.
- 5:12SPEAKER_04: I'm I'm not gonna doubt you.
- 5:14SPEAKER_04: You seem very sure.
- 5:16SPEAKER_05: Uh anyway, uh, but so but then like an adult, it was waiting for within the long gap, right?
- 5:23SPEAKER_05: You're busy starting, you're figuring out your life, how all that plans, and then we met uh Sean and Jackie.
- 5:29SPEAKER_05: And Sean's fault.
- 5:30SPEAKER_05: It is Sean's fault.
- 5:31SPEAKER_04: We went uh it's an occupational hazard.
- 5:34SPEAKER_04: He's an enabler.
- 5:35SPEAKER_04: He is an enabler.
- 5:37SPEAKER_04: He's an enabler.
- 5:38SPEAKER_02: I sense that from listening to the podcast.
- 5:40SPEAKER_02: Yes, definitely.
- 5:41SPEAKER_05: Uh so we went with them in 2014.
- 5:44SPEAKER_05: Um, and I believe at the time you said, okay, well, we'll go back in what five years, seven years.
- 5:51SPEAKER_05: I think I said something silly like that.
- 5:53SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that gives you a full.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: I said that'll be enough for for me for the time being.
- 5:58SPEAKER_00: And um to keep me art.
- 6:04unknown: I love it.
- 6:05SPEAKER_06: Love it.
- 6:05SPEAKER_04: All right, so so why Aaron and Emily first?
- 6:09SPEAKER_04: Why Disneyland Paris this year?
- 6:13SPEAKER_02: Um Go ahead.
- 6:14SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 6:15SPEAKER_02: Uh well, we we do have a bucket list like goal of hitting all the Disney parks all over the world.
- 6:22SPEAKER_02: Yeah, then Tokyo's next.
- 6:23SPEAKER_02: Tokyo's next, which we already decided when we were in Paris that Tokyo is gonna be next.
- 6:28SPEAKER_02: Um, but then we were in South Korea in the fall, so we just wanted to stay a little bit closer to home.
- 6:35SPEAKER_02: Um, and so we chose Disneyland Paris for our next um well park.
- 6:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and also we were like, we haven't been to Disney in a few years, and we were feeling that need to get back to Disney.
- 6:47SPEAKER_01: So we were thinking either a cruise or Paris, and we ultimately chose Paris.
- 6:51SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so yeah, I love that.
- 6:54SPEAKER_03: And what about you, uh Kegan and Katie?
- 6:56SPEAKER_03: Well, you guys were only there for a day, is that right?
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: Let's yes, yes, it was part of a larger trip.
- 7:03SPEAKER_00: Um, we were celebrating our 10-year wedding anniversary.
- 7:07SPEAKER_00: Um, we got married in Ireland um and started uh so we we wanted to do a trip that encompassed um Paris and London and Galway, where we got married.
- 7:23SPEAKER_00: Um, and so whilst we were in Paris, it was like, well, we're all the way here.
- 7:29SPEAKER_00: So we are it is incumbent upon us to happen.
- 7:34SPEAKER_05: It just had to happen.
- 7:35SPEAKER_05: Well, and we had been once before.
- 7:37SPEAKER_05: So we went in 2018 to Disneyland Paris with Sean and Jackie, and it was January.
- 7:43SPEAKER_05: Um, and it was a really great deal.
- 7:45SPEAKER_05: Uh, and it was so cold.
- 7:48SPEAKER_05: I would not recommend going to Paris in January.
- 7:50SPEAKER_03: No, January.
- 7:51SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 7:51SPEAKER_05: Um, but it was a cool experience.
- 7:55SPEAKER_05: And we also noted at the time, it's like, oh, you can see some of the areas that could use a little refurbishment.
- 8:00SPEAKER_05: And it, I don't know.
- 8:02SPEAKER_05: I'm now my timeline's fuzzy on this, but it wasn't long after that that Disney bought a controlling interest and announced that they were making this significant financial investment in the parks.
- 8:11SPEAKER_05: And so I was excited to go back and see what had changed.
- 8:14SPEAKER_05: What was it feel like?
- 8:16SPEAKER_04: But was it still Disneyland Paris when we went the first time?
- 8:21SPEAKER_05: It was, wasn't it?
- 8:22SPEAKER_05: Yes, it wasn't Euro Disney, it was Disneyland Paris.
- 8:24SPEAKER_04: I have all those collectibles in a box somewhere because the first time I went with my dad, it was Disney, it was Euro Disney.
- 8:31SPEAKER_04: So I have I have all that stuff socked away.
- 8:35SPEAKER_04: But well, but enough about me.
- 8:38SPEAKER_03: What do you think of me?
- 8:40SPEAKER_03: So I I guess how far in advance do you start planning a trip like this?
- 8:45SPEAKER_03: Because it's a very different thing than just like jetting down to Florida, you know, for a weekend, like we sometimes do.
- 8:51SPEAKER_03: How did that go for you guys?
- 8:54SPEAKER_02: Uh should we go first?
- 8:58SPEAKER_06: Sure.
- 8:59SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 9:00SPEAKER_02: I think we started talking about it maybe like a year ago around this time because we were on our way to a different destination for a different trip.
- 9:09SPEAKER_02: Um, and I think we we just kind of started discussing it, just throwing out ideas and then um thinking about times of the year and other trips that we had planned, and it just kind of fell into place that it would be 2026 and then late spring, early summer for us.
- 9:27SPEAKER_02: Um but uh we started thinking about it about a year ago, and then we reached out to Sean around Christmas time um to help uh plan our trip.
- 9:37SPEAKER_02: So yeah, and yeah.
- 9:41SPEAKER_04: What about you guys, Keegan and Katie?
- 9:44SPEAKER_05: When did you start?
- 9:45SPEAKER_05: Partly because of the anniversary.
- 9:47SPEAKER_05: We've been talking about this for a while, right?
- 9:48SPEAKER_05: It was originally our five-year plan and then COVID.
- 9:52SPEAKER_05: Oh it's like, okay, that's still in the way, and so that got pushed.
- 9:56SPEAKER_05: Well, we'll we'll Ireland will be 10-year.
- 9:58SPEAKER_05: And then it's like, well, if you're gonna be in Ireland, you might as well stack on a few of these other cities while you're over there.
- 10:04SPEAKER_00: But I don't think we really intently started planning until six months.
- 10:08SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 10:09SPEAKER_05: And yeah, and even Disney wasn't a for sure thing of the path of it, probably until February, when it was like, okay, now we know this is gonna happen.
- 10:20SPEAKER_05: But like as I was thinking about this question, it in many ways Disneyland Paris is exactly like the US parks in terms of its timelines, right?
- 10:27SPEAKER_05: You have your dining reservations if that's important to you, they're gonna be on the same cycle of where that is.
- 10:32SPEAKER_05: Um, and that's kind of your first window of you have to pick something.
- 10:36SPEAKER_05: But that's also a thing I love about Disney is that you can go in super planned, or you can go in and go, eh, I'm just gonna experience what I can experience today.
- 10:44SPEAKER_03: So well, and like what part of the process really did surprise you, you know, uh, as compared to when you're planning something in the domestic parks, is is it very similar, like the process of it, like booking it and everything else?
- 11:00SPEAKER_00: I felt like we had a lot more wiggle room um just because of the way the lightning lanes or whatever it's all called now um function.
- 11:11SPEAKER_00: Uh we we ended up there on a Saturday and it was a bank holiday.
- 11:17SPEAKER_00: So because we knew we only had the one day, we ended up springing for the is it the multipass?
- 11:23SPEAKER_00: Premier pass.
- 11:24SPEAKER_00: Or the premiere pass.
- 11:25SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 11:26SPEAKER_00: Um which normally in the states we would never do.
- 11:30SPEAKER_00: Um, but since we were there for one day, it was like, well, we want to make sure that we can ride, you know, frozen what while the new frozen land is there.
- 11:38SPEAKER_05: Um, which is different.
- 11:40SPEAKER_05: So like the multipass for lightning lane in the states, right?
- 11:43SPEAKER_05: You get to ride one, but you have to you have to sign up for a time.
- 11:46SPEAKER_05: And then Premier Pass there, it's you get to ride every ride that's on Premier Pass once, but you don't have to pick a time.
- 11:54SPEAKER_05: It's you you go whenever it's convenient to you.
- 11:56SPEAKER_05: So it's like old school Disney where you just show up and you're gonna work your way through the parks and wait and wait in the lines.
- 12:02SPEAKER_05: It's like, okay, we're gonna do that, but we get to join the lightning lane whenever we want to join it there.
- 12:07SPEAKER_00: Interesting.
- 12:08SPEAKER_00: I think um, I mean, part of the joy of Disney is feeling like you're you're able to kind of work, not work the system exactly, but when you're when you're able to navigate things and make it all line up just right, that's like, oh, we were able to sneak in and do this thing, you were waiting for this other thing.
- 12:23SPEAKER_00: Um, I felt like the overall flow of the park and the tempo of the park was slower.
- 12:29SPEAKER_00: Um so there's there was just more natural flexibility.
- 12:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 12:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I would agree with that.
- 12:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 12:37SPEAKER_02: Uh, because like I think the most different part for us was actually having Sean plan our trip.
- 12:44SPEAKER_02: So we're used to the way you do the Disney parks statebound.
- 12:48SPEAKER_02: Um, but some of the ways that we did it through Sean and planning for us was kind of like a little bit different with the ticketing and the packages and and when do we have the payments?
- 12:58SPEAKER_02: What do we put down now?
- 12:59SPEAKER_02: What do we put down later?
- 13:01SPEAKER_02: The hotel packages and whatnot.
- 13:03SPEAKER_02: The apps were very similar to EU's too.
- 13:06SPEAKER_02: But um I I agree with like the tempo.
- 13:09SPEAKER_02: I felt like it was a much more low-key, chill, smooth.
- 13:15SPEAKER_02: Like, if you wanted to be hardcore and go at it, you could, but like you didn't have to if you didn't want to.
- 13:22SPEAKER_02: Um, and then like I was able to get us a reservation at the Regal View um very last minute.
- 13:28SPEAKER_02: Like we we were in the taxi cab on the way to downtown Paris, and I'm like, Aaron, I just got us dinner reservations for Monday.
- 13:34SPEAKER_02: Like, I was able to just like flip it and get that, and so that was really cool.
- 13:39SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 13:39SPEAKER_03: What did you guys say?
- 13:41SPEAKER_03: I'm super curious about that.
- 13:44SPEAKER_02: Oh, what was the question?
- 13:45SPEAKER_02: What did we pay?
- 13:46SPEAKER_02: Where do we stay?
- 13:47SPEAKER_03: Oh, but no, I don't need to know what you paid.
- 13:49SPEAKER_01: Lots and lots of money, lots of money.
- 13:55SPEAKER_01: Oh god, I can't pronounce that.
- 13:57SPEAKER_04: What is that?
- 13:58SPEAKER_04: Oh, right.
- 13:58SPEAKER_01: Um, campion.
- 14:02SPEAKER_06: Yeah, Campion, something like that.
- 14:06SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 14:08SPEAKER_04: It was like yeah.
- 14:11SPEAKER_04: It is they are a good neighbor hotel, basically.
- 14:13SPEAKER_04: A parking.
- 14:14SPEAKER_06: Yeah, they were.
- 14:16SPEAKER_03: Oh, okay.
- 14:16SPEAKER_03: And what was the like how close was it to where you get where the park was?
- 14:21SPEAKER_02: Um, like a 10-minute uh shuttle bus ride between the park.
- 14:26SPEAKER_02: Yeah, in the countryside.
- 14:28SPEAKER_02: It was very pretty.
- 14:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it was very pretty, yeah.
- 14:30SPEAKER_02: Um, but yeah, like a 10-minute shuttle bus ride, like as if you were going like Disney Springs to the parks or back and forth, like it was about that length of time.
- 14:38SPEAKER_04: Oh, and and how did you like how did you like that hotel, Emily and Aaron?
- 14:42SPEAKER_02: Oh, we liked it.
- 14:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, it was it was nice.
- 14:45SPEAKER_02: It was very charming.
- 14:46SPEAKER_02: There wasn't a whole lot of theming, like Disney theming, but the hotel itself was very charming, very nice.
- 14:53SPEAKER_02: Um, there was uh a lot of um horses and donkeys and different animals roaming around in the mornings and um great breakfast buffet.
- 15:03SPEAKER_02: Great breakfast buffet.
- 15:04SPEAKER_02: The rooms were very nice, very comfortable beds.
- 15:06SPEAKER_02: I mean, couldn't complain at all, really.
- 15:08SPEAKER_01: It looks very nice for the amount of time we were actually in our rooms.
- 15:12SPEAKER_01: It was perfect.
- 15:13SPEAKER_01: So yeah, yeah.
- 15:14SPEAKER_04: Well, and I know Katie and Keegan had a slightly different experience with their hotel.
- 15:19SPEAKER_04: What did you guys think?
- 15:22SPEAKER_05: Well, okay, okay, so let's framing I love Disney World, and I will I'm a big advocate now for staying on property, right?
- 15:33SPEAKER_05: The benefits that you get for that and just all of the things, and the fact that Disney controls it, right?
- 15:37SPEAKER_05: So they care about the experience from the get-go.
- 15:39SPEAKER_05: And then we've had great experiences staying at in in Anaheim at a good neighbor hotel and being able to walk to the parks.
- 15:48SPEAKER_05: It's just so convenient and I've wonderful places.
- 15:51SPEAKER_05: Hotel Lulu uh in California, great place.
- 15:54SPEAKER_05: 10 out of 10.
- 15:55SPEAKER_05: We'll stay again.
- 15:56SPEAKER_05: That's where Kimberly is staying this summer.
- 15:59SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I would not stay at the hotel that we stayed at in France um by Disney again.
- 16:08SPEAKER_04: Um it wasn't B, hotel B.
- 16:13SPEAKER_04: It was something I had looked at for Emily and Aaron early on, and we ended up at the other one.
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: And you know, the price was right.
- 16:20SPEAKER_00: There um the the biggest I became aware how much the experience of getting to and from the park impacts your day.
- 16:31SPEAKER_00: Um because um on the way home, um, the shuttle is not operated by Disney itself.
- 16:40SPEAKER_00: Um, and we ended up there was a fist fight um at the shuttle and then on the bus, on the shuttle, um, I mean, people swearing at each other and throwing things, and it was it was scary, and nothing kind of ruins the Disney Magic like being just concerned for your and everyone else's well-being.
- 17:03SPEAKER_00: Um, and I I mention it specifically because um the the metro goes right up to Disneyland, Paris.
- 17:15SPEAKER_00: Um, and Sean, when we went um years ago, we did take the the metro all the way in from Paris proper um into the the park.
- 17:26SPEAKER_00: Um, and and this time if I had it to do over again, I think I would maybe explore not staying at a a place that requires the shuttle, but rather finding a hotel, a stop or two off the metro, because at the end of the night, there was nobody in line for the metro.
- 17:44SPEAKER_00: We could have hopped on that and spared ourselves the heartache.
- 17:49SPEAKER_02: To be clear though, that's a good point because we took the shuttle bus, and yes, it's a 10-minute ride, it got us back, but like at night, it's it's aggressive, it is aggressive, yeah.
- 18:00SPEAKER_04: And and it was Europeans, correct?
- 18:02SPEAKER_04: It wasn't like Americans, yes, yeah, just fighting, and they call us ugly Americans.
- 18:07SPEAKER_00: I had to yank her on to the shuttle bus because we were maybe going to get separated at one point, like the mornings were fine and peaceful, but at night at night after the night, and I mean people are tired and it's hot and there's alcohol imbibed, and I get it, but also why is there no queue system?
- 18:24SPEAKER_00: Yes, no wine, yes, that's sort of like Disney wasn't in charge of it, I guess.
- 18:29SPEAKER_05: Right, right.
- 18:30SPEAKER_05: We're also used to the Disney World getting the queue, everybody's there, there's yeah, people there to help guide you, and then then you don't get it, and you're like, oh man, I missed that.
- 18:40SPEAKER_05: So I agree, I would do that.
- 18:41SPEAKER_05: I would also we really and I I enjoyed having the premiere pass.
- 18:44SPEAKER_05: If we had been there for multiple days, I don't believe it would have been a necessary thing, and I would have rather taken that money and said, let's just stay on property, right?
- 18:52SPEAKER_05: Because the on-property hotels look stunning as well.
- 18:55SPEAKER_05: Um I think there are a bunch of good options to do, and some of the hotels that we drove by looked beautiful as well.
- 19:02SPEAKER_05: Um so I it's not that it's a bad thing, but particularly with the bank holiday and how busy that was, I would not choose that hotel again.
- 19:11SPEAKER_04: Sure, sure.
- 19:12SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 19:13SPEAKER_04: Oh all right.
- 19:14SPEAKER_04: Well, let's move to a far happier topic.
- 19:17SPEAKER_04: And let's discuss, let's discuss for each of you, you know, what is maybe the one sort of highlight or moment, you know, attraction show, uh, something that you're still thinking about.
- 19:32SPEAKER_04: And as I said when I when I wrote this to people, you know, in honor of our friend Lou Mangello, you may have two.
- 19:39SPEAKER_04: You don't have to make it just the one, but but what is kind of the standout positive memory for for let's start with you, Emily.
- 19:47SPEAKER_02: Um, I I loved Frozen Ever After.
- 19:51SPEAKER_02: Um, and being in um Arendelle and the world of Frozen.
- 19:55SPEAKER_02: That was just so like you were so immersed in it.
- 19:58SPEAKER_02: You felt like you were in the movie.
- 20:00SPEAKER_02: Everything was so beautiful, everything was so cute.
- 20:03SPEAKER_02: I mean, from the queue to the right itself to the shopping afterwards.
- 20:07SPEAKER_02: I spent so much money.
- 20:09SPEAKER_02: Like I it was just I had expectations.
- 20:13SPEAKER_02: Expectations were high, but they were exceeded.
- 20:15SPEAKER_02: I just loved that, and I still think about it all the time about how beautiful that part of the park is.
- 20:22SPEAKER_02: Um, and then the drone show, the light show at Adventure Worlds.
- 20:27SPEAKER_06: Stunning.
- 20:29SPEAKER_02: Like what a way for us to end our trip.
- 20:32SPEAKER_02: Like, I absolutely cannot say enough about that show.
- 20:36SPEAKER_02: And I heard that they were adding um boat drones or something, water drones to the show.
- 20:42SPEAKER_02: I read some sort of headline about that.
- 20:44SPEAKER_02: Um, and I'm just like, well, whatever they can add because it's gorgeous as it is.
- 20:50SPEAKER_04: How about you listen, listen up, Josh?
- 20:52SPEAKER_04: We want some drones in the United States.
- 20:56SPEAKER_04: How about you, Aaron?
- 20:58SPEAKER_01: Uh well, Frozen, yes, was absolutely amazing.
- 21:02SPEAKER_01: Um, but I'm gonna say Phantom Manor for me.
- 21:05SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 21:06SPEAKER_06: Oh, yeah.
- 21:07SPEAKER_01: Um, I love Hawton Mansion as one of my favorite rides here on state, so to see to be or to go to Phantom Manor was pretty awesome.
- 21:15SPEAKER_01: So that's a big, big one for me that I love.
- 21:19SPEAKER_01: So it's just love the spookiness and the weird vibes of it all.
- 21:23SPEAKER_01: And yes, give it to me anytime.
- 21:25SPEAKER_01: I love it.
- 21:26SPEAKER_04: So for those of us who've only experienced like frozen ever after or you know, here in the States, what makes the new Arendale, you know, frozen ride so special?
- 21:40SPEAKER_01: That's a great question.
- 21:41SPEAKER_02: That is, because we've been to the one in Epcot, obviously, but I it tells the story really well, I think.
- 21:46SPEAKER_02: That's a good one.
- 21:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 21:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 21:48SPEAKER_01: I think it really tells the story of of the movie in like a I don't know, seven, eight minute, ten minute ride.
- 21:53SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 21:54SPEAKER_01: Um, there's something magical about it.
- 21:55SPEAKER_01: There's just a magical feeling, um beautiful.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah, go ahead.
- 22:01SPEAKER_02: Even though you know to expect like the drops and the drops that take you like backwards, like you see the buildup to that moment, I felt was just more epic for lack of a better word, um, or magical.
- 22:14SPEAKER_02: Um, it just it was so sharp.
- 22:16SPEAKER_02: Everything looked sharp, everything moved sharp.
- 22:18SPEAKER_02: It was just, you forgot you were on a ride, honestly.
- 22:21SPEAKER_02: Like I think you just felt like you were with all the characters from Frozen and you were just like having a blast.
- 22:27SPEAKER_02: Like it was just, I don't know.
- 22:29SPEAKER_02: I wanted to write it again.
- 22:30SPEAKER_02: We both wanted to write it again.
- 22:31SPEAKER_02: We didn't get to, unfortunately, because of the rest of the the how the day went, but like it was just I was speechless.
- 22:38SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 22:40SPEAKER_00: We felt the same way and also couldn't quite put our finger on what was different about it.
- 22:46SPEAKER_00: And I started to do some research uh in the next queue and then got distracted and never went back to it.
- 22:52SPEAKER_00: But now, now that I'm thinking about it, um, I was listening to a podcast about creating the music behind that attraction specifically, and that they were, because they were retrofitting Maelstrom, that they ran into some struggles in Disney World to make the music sync up exactly like with the water flow, and just you know, there are a lot of logistics that go into that.
- 23:18SPEAKER_00: So I wonder if they learned from that experience and were able to what you said about um it just feeling more sharp or precise somehow um sparked it in my mind.
- 23:29SPEAKER_00: I that could be nonsense, but um it's a good theory, yeah.
- 23:33SPEAKER_02: Well, yeah.
- 23:35SPEAKER_05: I mean, anyway, I'm something on the ride stands out to you, but like the sparkle section of the right just felt so vivid in a different way writing it in Florida.
- 23:44SPEAKER_05: And I have to think the only real comparable I have to it is when you walk into Star Wars War ultra and in Florida and you experience this entire, oh my gosh, I'm in this new place.
- 23:56SPEAKER_05: Well, we get that in Arendelle, right?
- 23:58SPEAKER_05: All of a sudden you're in there because the rest of the world is behind you, you're not staring at it at all.
- 24:02SPEAKER_05: Exactly in Arendelle, and so then you get in line and get to ride this ride, and you've already been in the world versus just being at the Norway Pavilion, which is cool, but it's not Arendelle.
- 24:14SPEAKER_05: You still recognize you're at Epcot, whereas now I feel like I've entered another world and now I'm so sunk into this experience.
- 24:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 24:21SPEAKER_02: Well, because literally it's at the back of the park, so literally the rest of that whole theme park is behind you.
- 24:26SPEAKER_02: Yeah, like it is out of sight, out of mind.
- 24:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah, good point.
- 24:30SPEAKER_04: Like the good, Tristan.
- 24:31SPEAKER_04: You and I have to get there and see the sparkles.
- 24:34SPEAKER_03: Oh, and I love Frozen so much.
- 24:37SPEAKER_03: I cannot wait.
- 24:38SPEAKER_00: Uh it sounds so Yeah, Tristan.
- 24:40SPEAKER_00: You'll you'll lose your mind.
- 24:42SPEAKER_04: You'll love it.
- 24:42SPEAKER_02: You're gonna, yeah.
- 24:43SPEAKER_04: So Katie, what was what was your like what was your top one or two?
- 24:49SPEAKER_04: Clearly, Frozen was up there.
- 24:51SPEAKER_00: Frozen was up there, of course.
- 24:52SPEAKER_00: Um, I really, really loved the tangled, um, essentially teacups.
- 25:00SPEAKER_00: Um, but the tangled ride, because they've got the the it's to the the kingdom dance, and then they intersperse that song and another one.
- 25:08SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna forget what the other song is, but it's just such a perfect, joyful um song to accompany that movement.
- 25:16SPEAKER_00: It just feels so free.
- 25:18SPEAKER_00: It feels like you're dancing, you know, we're on the dance floor.
- 25:23SPEAKER_00: Um so I really enjoyed that and wasn't expecting it.
- 25:26SPEAKER_00: And then my my my second one um is there was a moment where um Belle came flouncing by, and it was clear that her her handler was like, okay, we must move along now.
- 25:38SPEAKER_00: Um but this little girl cried out, Belle! And without skipping a beat, that cast member turned around, like didn't break stride at all, grabbed her hand and skipped off into the distance with her.
- 25:50SPEAKER_00: And you know that child is gonna remember that for the rest of her life.
- 25:56SPEAKER_00: Yes, um, and just a truly magical moment.
- 26:02SPEAKER_00: I think this part of what I love about Disney is watching other people be happy there, yeah, yeah, absolutely.
- 26:08SPEAKER_00: And it was just you know, that cast member took two seconds to make it a really magical moment for her, and then last two to get to watch it.
- 26:18SPEAKER_04: Um about you, Keegan.
- 26:22SPEAKER_05: Sorry, I mean it was such a beautiful moment to watch, and there are there are so many things, like I say, we haven't said anything about Disneyland yet, so I'm gonna I'm gonna throw up there.
- 26:32SPEAKER_05: Uh I said, you said you did.
- 26:35SPEAKER_05: Oh, I'm so sorry, Eric.
- 26:36SPEAKER_05: You did.
- 26:37SPEAKER_05: I I forget that because while Sean and Tristan are big Haunted Mansion fans, we are a little less on the Haunted Mansion fans.
- 26:44SPEAKER_05: We did ride Phantom Manor for Sean and Jackie's sake.
- 26:48SPEAKER_05: Oh, send pictures and part of the experience.
- 26:52SPEAKER_05: And I think it was my favorite of the of the cat of the locations I've been to.
- 26:57SPEAKER_05: It was really cool to be inside it.
- 26:59SPEAKER_05: Oh yeah.
- 27:00SPEAKER_05: But uh my Disneyland portion would be Big Thunder Mountain was incredible.
- 27:04SPEAKER_05: Being out on the Tulse Islands was like just such a cool, it's my favorite mountain.
- 27:09SPEAKER_05: Um so I really really loved that.
- 27:13SPEAKER_05: And then one of my favorite things about being a Disney adult and going is finding the lounges and getting to sit and people watch, but have a beverage and just enjoy the experience.
- 27:23SPEAKER_05: And so the Regal View Lounge is uh maybe the best kept secret because you can just walk up and get tables and experience it.
- 27:31SPEAKER_00: But and like you said, that you were able to get that reservation last minute.
- 27:36SPEAKER_00: Um, and because we were so worried about it being so crowded on the holiday, yeah.
- 27:44SPEAKER_00: Once in the afternoon and once at the end of the day, right?
- 27:47SPEAKER_05: And just got to sit up there, and because it has this park has three castles, right?
- 27:53SPEAKER_05: You've got sleeping castle, and then in Arundel, you have the Arendelle Castle and you have the Ice Palace that are there.
- 28:00SPEAKER_05: And so you can sit at either inside or outside at that lounge and stare off at the beautiful castles of the beverage, it's perfect, and it's so gorgeous inside too.
- 28:11SPEAKER_02: All those murals and the paintings, like the artwork was stunning.
- 28:17SPEAKER_02: Stunning.
- 28:17SPEAKER_02: Oh my god.
- 28:18SPEAKER_03: What was your favorite beverage at this joint?
- 28:22SPEAKER_00: Oh I just got the I had water, so yeah.
- 28:28SPEAKER_05: I I had an I I had an old-fashioned, it was really good.
- 28:31SPEAKER_05: Um I didn't get into like their whatever their custom beverages are.
- 28:34SPEAKER_05: I just was like, pour me some whiskey, let me sit and look at these beautiful castles.
- 28:38SPEAKER_03: So good for you.
- 28:40SPEAKER_03: You're a simple man.
- 28:41SPEAKER_03: I love that.
- 28:42SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 28:44SPEAKER_03: Um, what was like something that caught you off guard in a good way?
- 28:48SPEAKER_03: We'll keep it you know positive, but what was the most surprising thing?
- 28:50SPEAKER_03: I mean, you've talked about frozen, and obviously, but was there something that you were like, I was not expecting that to be the thing that that really hit me?
- 28:59SPEAKER_05: Oh, I got this, I got this.
- 29:01SPEAKER_05: Love it.
- 29:05SPEAKER_05: The one Avengers Assemble Flight Force.
- 29:09SPEAKER_05: Oh, it was so great, and there was never a line.
- 29:13SPEAKER_05: How many times did we write it in one day?
- 29:15SPEAKER_05: Oh, I don't know.
- 29:16SPEAKER_05: Four, at least four times.
- 29:18SPEAKER_05: Um, I don't know why there was no line, but it's rock and roller coaster.
- 29:23SPEAKER_02: Yes, that's what we said.
- 29:24SPEAKER_02: That's how we compared it.
- 29:25SPEAKER_05: Yeah, it's incredible.
- 29:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 29:28SPEAKER_04: Oh, all right.
- 29:29SPEAKER_04: Sounds like it's right up your alley, Tristan.
- 29:31SPEAKER_04: Avengers, Avengers rock and roller coaster.
- 29:34SPEAKER_03: I have no notes on that.
- 29:36SPEAKER_03: Yeah, no, that sounds lovely.
- 29:38SPEAKER_02: I would say on Disneyland Paris, um, it's a small world was was quite charming and cute and adorable.
- 29:45SPEAKER_02: And I loved that ride.
- 29:47SPEAKER_02: Um, I love It's a Small World.
- 29:50SPEAKER_02: My favorite is in Disneyland, um, California.
- 29:53SPEAKER_02: Um, but um this one in Paris, I thought was just as good.
- 29:59SPEAKER_02: Um, super cute.
- 30:01SPEAKER_02: Uh just I was just happy uh sitting in that boat, I was just smiling the entire time, just like singing along and just like I'm in the happy funny splitting room.
- 30:10SPEAKER_01: So that was a good surprise.
- 30:12SPEAKER_03: Oh, I love that.
- 30:14SPEAKER_03: I want to go so badly.
- 30:20SPEAKER_01: Oh, sure.
- 30:21SPEAKER_01: Um well I I'm gonna lose as a whole, I thought Adventure World was pretty amazing.
- 30:28SPEAKER_01: Um, I was not anticipating that how much I would enjoy like all the rides.
- 30:33SPEAKER_01: Um, for like a single ride though, I would say um uh well Avengers was really good, but um Tower of Terror, Twilight Zone.
- 30:43SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 30:45SPEAKER_01: Maybe better than Disney World.
- 30:47SPEAKER_01: Not as great as Disneyland, but maybe better than Disney World.
- 30:50SPEAKER_01: Um, it was loved, loved it.
- 30:52SPEAKER_01: So that would be my choice.
- 30:54SPEAKER_00: That's awesome.
- 30:55SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that was a good one.
- 30:56SPEAKER_00: Mine is not a ride, but it's a dining thing.
- 31:00SPEAKER_00: Um, there was a quick service restaurant that I'm gonna forget the name of, but back in Frozen World, um quick service, um, we got turkey meatballs and it came with vegetables and like couscous or something.
- 31:14SPEAKER_00: So it was you know a nice, healthy, hearty meal.
- 31:17SPEAKER_00: And then it came with an ice cream that I expected was going to be just plain old soft syrup.
- 31:22SPEAKER_00: I do not know what was in that soft syrup.
- 31:24SPEAKER_00: It was so good.
- 31:27SPEAKER_00: And they wanted um uh it came with your meal, and they care about you know, taking your time at a meal.
- 31:37SPEAKER_00: So they like gave us our food and then he said, Here's your coupon, come back and get your ice cream when you have finished your meal.
- 31:43SPEAKER_00: And I just thought that was such a charming um, you know, just addition that in the states everything is like get in, get out, we've got people to move through here.
- 31:54SPEAKER_00: Um and the the the woman working at the cash register was confused that we wouldn't want to wait.
- 32:02SPEAKER_00: So anyway, I just thought it was an unexpectedly delicious um and uh delicious meal and moment to just slow down and be like, ah yes, yes, we can take our time and just enjoy.
- 32:15SPEAKER_05: It was the Nordic Crown's Tavern, in case anyone's following along at home.
- 32:21SPEAKER_00: Cast members have great costumes in that um cool.
- 32:25SPEAKER_04: All right, did everybody did everybody get a surprise answer?
- 32:30SPEAKER_04: Does everybody think so?
- 32:31SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 32:32SPEAKER_04: Then then let's move on to the all those naysayers who go, you know, why would you go to Paris and then go to Disneyland?
- 32:38SPEAKER_04: It's like, you know, Disney, what isn't it just another Disney park?
- 32:43SPEAKER_04: Isn't it just another Disneyland or Disney World in Florida?
- 32:46SPEAKER_04: Why go?
- 32:47SPEAKER_04: Uh yeah, I don't know.
- 32:50SPEAKER_04: Aaron, maybe why don't you start us off?
- 32:52SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 32:53SPEAKER_01: Well, that's actually funny you say that because one of my coworkers did exactly say that to me before.
- 32:58SPEAKER_01: He's like, You're gonna fly seven, eight hours just to go to Disneyland.
- 33:02SPEAKER_01: I was like, Yeah, why not?
- 33:04SPEAKER_04: Like, oh, those people.
- 33:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 33:06SPEAKER_01: They like literally, I remember the look on his face.
- 33:09SPEAKER_04: Um, but did he look like Donald Duck when he said it?
- 33:12SPEAKER_01: And Donald Duck when he said it.
- 33:14unknown: Okay.
- 33:17SPEAKER_01: Definitely.
- 33:18SPEAKER_01: Um, I don't know.
- 33:19SPEAKER_01: I would say uh just it's that all these parks bring like happiness and comfort, is how I see it.
- 33:26SPEAKER_01: And Disneyland Paris has extra charm because it's more European feel to it and more kind of laid back feel to it.
- 33:34SPEAKER_01: If you don't want like the rush of the crowds of people, um except for the As long as you avoid the shuttle at night.
- 33:44SPEAKER_01: Um but yeah, I mean, as long as you know, I would say if you want to be like happy and just get away, escape from life and reality, Disney Parks is where it's at, whether it's in the Disney World, Paris, wherever.
- 33:56SPEAKER_01: So that's what I would say.
- 33:58SPEAKER_04: What about you, Emily?
- 34:00SPEAKER_02: Um, I I do think that you you could obviously see the European like aesthetic in Disneyland, Paris, like that European look, the charm, the uh structure of the buildings, like all of that was very much I'm in Europe.
- 34:15SPEAKER_02: And so it I think it added to the to the feel of of being at a Disney park, having that European like twist to it, if you will.
- 34:24SPEAKER_02: Um, so I think for people that are like, why would you go to Paris?
- 34:27SPEAKER_02: And then you end up going to a Disney park when we have two here in the States, I'm gonna be like, you know, I love to explore cultures, I love to see the world, I love to see how one country's gonna represent Disney in one way and how another will in another country.
- 34:42SPEAKER_02: So, like, why not broaden my horizons and get all of the Disney experiences and then have all the memories to come with it and discuss it amongst ourselves like we are tonight?
- 34:53SPEAKER_02: Like, why who wouldn't want to be able to do that?
- 34:55SPEAKER_01: Meet awesome people.
- 34:56SPEAKER_01: So like what about you, Katie?
- 35:00SPEAKER_04: What do you say to the naysayers?
- 35:03SPEAKER_04: Because you've gone twice, you've gone to Paris twice and gone to Disneyland both times.
- 35:08SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 35:08SPEAKER_00: Well, um, Emily mentioning um small world made me think uh I I love thinking about experiences or places that we've been and knowing that somebody else is having that experience right now.
- 35:24SPEAKER_00: And so thinking about small world specifically, the fact that at any given time there are people in Disneyland and Florida and Paris and Tokyo and blah, blah, blah, all on that ride, all thinking about how connected we all are.
- 35:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 35:41SPEAKER_00: Come on.
- 35:42SPEAKER_00: It's you know, it's humanity and like we are all in it together.
- 35:46SPEAKER_00: Um, maybe not the shuttle, but everything else together.
- 35:51SPEAKER_04: That's now that's a beautiful, that's a beautiful answer, Keegan.
- 35:56SPEAKER_04: Now follow that.
- 36:00SPEAKER_05: Yeah, we've gone twice when we've been in Paris.
- 36:03SPEAKER_05: Um and we prior we love to travel, and so we prioritize traveling as much as possible.
- 36:07SPEAKER_05: So I'm not gonna tell somebody, you know what, just fly to Paris and go straight to Disneyland and do that.
- 36:12SPEAKER_05: First off, it's a bad idea, in my opinion, because you're jet lagged.
- 36:15SPEAKER_05: So take a day, let yourself breathe, and then go to Disney after the jet lag has settled, right?
- 36:20SPEAKER_04: But yeah, Emily and Aaron's travel agent beat that into them.
- 36:25SPEAKER_05: Don't go there first.
- 36:27SPEAKER_04: That'll be sad.
- 36:29SPEAKER_05: But yeah, so you should go to the Louvre if you're in Paris, right?
- 36:32SPEAKER_05: You should go do that and you should spend time walking around and seeing the rest of it.
- 36:36SPEAKER_05: But then Disney is one of those great equalizers in a world where there's so much division and we're pulling apart at each other.
- 36:44SPEAKER_05: It's nice to go to a place where people are coming to celebrate joy.
- 36:48SPEAKER_05: And for the most part, you walk you walk in and you just see that.
- 36:52SPEAKER_05: You get to people watch a different society and how they move and how they walk.
- 36:57SPEAKER_05: Um, you like Katie said with the restaurant in the states, the that quick service is get in, get out, 20-minute meal, so you can be back in line for another ride.
- 37:07SPEAKER_05: And that's most assuredly not the European mentality about how it is.
- 37:10SPEAKER_05: And so seeing that within a Disney park is very, very cool.
- 37:14SPEAKER_06: Yeah, yeah.
- 37:15SPEAKER_05: And you can't get all the same experiences in that you can get in the states there, or that you can get there here.
- 37:21SPEAKER_05: I mean, just look, now they're creating their own um uh Lion King Mountain that's gonna be out there, and I'm like, oh my gosh, we're gonna have to go back to it.
- 37:30SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
- 37:32SPEAKER_05: We have to go back and experience it.
- 37:34SPEAKER_05: We don't get the drone shows, and it was truly breathtaking.
- 37:37SPEAKER_05: Katie wasn't here at the end of it.
- 37:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it was correct.
- 37:40SPEAKER_05: So, yeah, you can have that opinion, but if you do, you're only shortchanging yourself.
- 37:45SPEAKER_05: Experience life, experience the world, whatever that means for you.
- 37:49SPEAKER_03: Oh great answers.
- 37:51SPEAKER_03: Like, so what you're saying is just all of humans need to go to Disneyland Paris, and maybe we could solve the problem.
- 37:57SPEAKER_03: Yeah, uh it's a good start.
- 37:59SPEAKER_03: It's a good start, Tristan.
- 38:00SPEAKER_02: Not gonna hurt.
- 38:02SPEAKER_02: Not gonna hurt.
- 38:03SPEAKER_02: It's very healing, very healing.
- 38:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 38:06SPEAKER_03: And do you think you know it's it's a place that even if you're not the biggest Disney fan, you'd enjoy because of all the ambiance and the the vibes that you guys have been talking about?
- 38:16SPEAKER_00: Definitely, even mayhaps more so because you don't have to be the biggest fan in the world to still enjoy um just the ambiance and uh you know, just kind of take it all in without being um the most knowledgeable about every universe.
- 38:40SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I thought you could definitely tell like the hardcore Disney fans or like you know, the the Disney fans that go to the parks a lot and that are very Disney parkgoers, for lack of a better word.
- 38:53SPEAKER_02: But then you could also, I thought you could see at the parks the casual attendees, the ones who just wanted to have fun, who wanted to see what it's all about, who you know just wanted to ride some fun rides and see some cool characters.
- 39:05SPEAKER_02: So I think there was a really good mix, I thought, of like the different spectrum of like where you fall on Disney and your love of Disney.
- 39:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 39:13SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 39:14SPEAKER_04: I'm going totally off topic because I just thought of this.
- 39:17SPEAKER_04: Although, wait, did everybody get a chance to answer that that wanted to?
- 39:21SPEAKER_05: I just want to add to it real quick.
- 39:24SPEAKER_05: There is particularly at Adventure World, and for me it's Hollywood Studios in Florida, that have a same vibe of there is just a you can be at this place and kind of walk around and enjoy the environments a little bit more, which used to be Epcot for me.
- 39:40SPEAKER_05: Now that I love the festivals, but now that all the festivals are there, it's a little more fast-paced.
- 39:45SPEAKER_05: Um, but when you're walking around Adventure World, it it is kind of like just take in the view.
- 39:50SPEAKER_05: There's these amazing rides, but they're on the outskirts of the park.
- 39:53SPEAKER_05: So the inner of the park, you can just be and exist.
- 39:56SPEAKER_05: And I think that really does set it up nice so that you don't have to be the world's biggest Disney person to just want to go experience what it is and not feel like you're being pressed by thousands of people.
- 40:09SPEAKER_04: Okay, so to go back to my off-topic question.
- 40:12SPEAKER_04: Because I just thought about this.
- 40:13SPEAKER_04: It's like, what was the experience like in terms of multiple languages?
- 40:17SPEAKER_04: It's like attraction-wise, or you know, how much was in French, how much was in English?
- 40:22SPEAKER_04: I mean, they've clearly got people coming from Italy and England, and you know, and certainly French people.
- 40:29SPEAKER_04: And it's like, how does that mix play out, do you feel?
- 40:34SPEAKER_01: Uh it's go ahead.
- 40:36SPEAKER_01: It's interesting.
- 40:37SPEAKER_01: Um, all the riots I would say were in French.
- 40:41SPEAKER_02: Predominantly French.
- 40:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 40:43SPEAKER_02: Um, and then they would repeat the instructions or the whatever they had said in French in English.
- 40:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 40:50SPEAKER_02: Um, I noticed that.
- 40:53SPEAKER_04: Katie, you looked like you were about to say something.
- 40:55SPEAKER_00: I'm giggling.
- 40:56SPEAKER_00: Oh, I'm sorry.
- 40:57SPEAKER_00: Go ahead.
- 40:58SPEAKER_00: Oh no, go ahead.
- 40:59SPEAKER_00: I'm giggling because um on uh not rock and roller coaster.
- 41:05SPEAKER_00: Avengers a symbol.
- 41:06SPEAKER_00: Avengers a symbol.
- 41:08SPEAKER_00: Um the uh not once, but twice, three times, three times.
- 41:14SPEAKER_00: Three times we were ready for the launch because it does what rock and roller coaster does.
- 41:19SPEAKER_00: So it's gonna launch you.
- 41:20SPEAKER_00: And they stopped the ride and said car four because someone had their phone out and was going to studio it.
- 41:30SPEAKER_00: But they did not bother saying it in French first, they went right to English.
- 41:34SPEAKER_00: Oh wow.
- 41:37SPEAKER_04: The rule breaker is and did did car four understand?
- 41:41SPEAKER_00: Uh yes.
- 41:42SPEAKER_04: Were they correct in that presumption?
- 41:44SPEAKER_00: Okay, then but it was very funny.
- 41:46SPEAKER_00: It happened, um, it happened three times.
- 41:48SPEAKER_00: And the first time, uh, our friend Jacob um he hates jump scares.
- 41:54SPEAKER_00: And this was the jump scare to end all jump scares because they had done all of the final countdown, and then we were waiting and waiting and waiting for someone to put their phone down, and then we just went.
- 42:04SPEAKER_06: It was good.
- 42:05SPEAKER_05: I mean, it was really great, but it did.
- 42:08SPEAKER_05: We rode the ride four times, and they had to do that three of the four times.
- 42:11SPEAKER_05: So cool.
- 42:13SPEAKER_01: But we were in the front row, right?
- 42:15SPEAKER_01: For that one.
- 42:16SPEAKER_02: No, we were in the front for hyperspace mountain.
- 42:18SPEAKER_02: Oh, okay, yeah.
- 42:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we were in the back for adventures.
- 42:20SPEAKER_02: Okay, yeah.
- 42:21SPEAKER_05: I also loved Hyperspace Mountain.
- 42:23SPEAKER_05: But I was gonna say adventures a symbol for the language question is interesting to me because in the pre-show, so not the instructions, in the instructions, they did exactly what you're talking about, right?
- 42:31SPEAKER_05: They said it in French and then they repeated it in English, and then just on the loop while we're waiting there.
- 42:36SPEAKER_05: But in the pre-show, they had two of the different Avenger characters, and my recollection is that one was speaking French, and then the conversation would switch English for the other person so that both languages you could track where the story was happening.
- 42:50SPEAKER_05: And if you are by or if you spoke both languages, then you could hear the entirety of it.
- 42:55SPEAKER_05: But it did help.
- 42:56SPEAKER_05: I could track what was going on without speaking French, and I always very little bit.
- 43:01SPEAKER_01: I think there was a part that was also had subtitles during that too, and Avengers Assemble.
- 43:06SPEAKER_01: I think it was in English too.
- 43:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 43:09SPEAKER_04: If you're from Spain or Italy, are you out of luck?
- 43:12SPEAKER_04: You need to do a lingo before you get there.
- 43:15SPEAKER_00: I believe it was just French and French and English.
- 43:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah, maybe you two will remember.
- 43:22SPEAKER_00: I can't uh my recollection is that Tower of Terror was exclusively in French.
- 43:28SPEAKER_00: Does that sound right to you?
- 43:29SPEAKER_00: It was.
- 43:32SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 43:33SPEAKER_02: Well, no, because when we got onto the ride, like we were seatbelted in, she did it the same way, like French, and then she repeated herself in English.
- 43:43SPEAKER_02: But everything leading up into that point, I think was just pre-show.
- 43:47SPEAKER_00: Okay, yeah.
- 43:48SPEAKER_00: This is another one of those moments where it was like, Oh, this is so fun.
- 43:50SPEAKER_00: There were two girls um who knew every word to the pre show in French.
- 43:56SPEAKER_00: And I have no idea what is being said at all, but both.
- 44:02SPEAKER_00: I mean they were clearly so jazzed to to be about to ride the ride.
- 44:07SPEAKER_00: I have no idea what's happening, but you're excited and I'm excited.
- 44:11SPEAKER_00: I'm excited too.
- 44:14SPEAKER_05: Aaron, I agree with you.
- 44:15SPEAKER_05: It is better than Florida's Tower of Terra, in my opinion.
- 44:19SPEAKER_05: Thank you.
- 44:20SPEAKER_06: Thank you.
- 44:21SPEAKER_05: It is a really close second to Guardian's Tower of Terror.
- 44:25SPEAKER_01: I 100% agree.
- 44:27SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 44:27SPEAKER_01: We're on the same wavelength there.
- 44:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 44:30SPEAKER_04: Well, I think I think you have all done an excellent job of helping people understand why they need to get their booty to Disneyland Paris.
- 44:38SPEAKER_04: But if you had to give one, you know, one or two really important tips about planning a trip or you know how you would structure your day or anything about what what what would be the one or two things you would tell people?
- 44:52SPEAKER_04: Who wants to go first?
- 44:57SPEAKER_01: Take Sean as your travel agent.
- 45:02SPEAKER_04: I will say Emily and Aaron both took the time to write me amazing reviews on two platforms, and I truly appreciate it.
- 45:09SPEAKER_04: But um I besides that, what was that?
- 45:14SPEAKER_04: What was it about what I helped you understand that you would say, oh yeah, maybe we wouldn't think of that on our own.
- 45:20SPEAKER_02: But well, no, the way the way, like as you mentioned a little bit ago, about um recommending our Disney portion of the trip be the kind of like back half of our trip to let the jet like settle in and and get us kind of settled into being in a new place and and um gearing us up for the two days we were at Disney because we are definitely rope drop people and we will hit Disney hard.
- 45:49SPEAKER_02: We'll go from morning to night.
- 45:50SPEAKER_02: Like we and we did.
- 45:52SPEAKER_02: But um, I think the way that we or that you um organized it for us and um prioritized certain like points of it um was definitely very beneficial because in the beginning we were just like Disneyland, here we go, straight to the parks.
- 46:11SPEAKER_02: If we have time for something else, great.
- 46:12SPEAKER_02: And you're like, no, no, no, no, no, slow your roll.
- 46:15SPEAKER_02: Like, here's how we should do it.
- 46:16SPEAKER_04: So I was very glad I was very glad you enjoyed your uh your sale on the scene.
- 46:22SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah, gorgeous.
- 46:23SPEAKER_04: That made me happy.
- 46:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 46:25SPEAKER_04: All right, one other thing.
- 46:28SPEAKER_04: No, what was that, Emily?
- 46:30SPEAKER_02: No, I said I'd you that would be what I would say for like my recommendation.
- 46:34SPEAKER_04: What else, Katie?
- 46:36SPEAKER_00: Um I know you guys talk about this quite frequently, um, but plan the trip, but then let the trip unfold and leave room for the magical moments that you can't plan because we yeah, it's about being in the moment and um responding to your what the unique day that the world gives you that day.
- 47:02SPEAKER_00: So just enjoy it.
- 47:03SPEAKER_00: Plan it, but then enjoy it.
- 47:05SPEAKER_02: Yes, yes, that's true.
- 47:07SPEAKER_02: Don't get caught up in that.
- 47:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 47:09SPEAKER_05: Well, because you have to know what's what's important to you as a traveler and how you're gonna go experience the day.
- 47:15SPEAKER_05: Um, you can get a great there are great fast service restaurants there, or you can have a reservation.
- 47:22SPEAKER_05: We went to Captain Jack's and got to sit, which is the blue bayou of that world, right?
- 47:26SPEAKER_05: And then watch the pirates' boats go by as you're sitting having some lovely seafood and enjoy that experience.
- 47:31SPEAKER_05: But it doesn't mean either is wrong, and that's the cool thing about Disney is that it can provide all of the different kinds of experiences you want to have.
- 47:40SPEAKER_05: So that's the recommendation.
- 47:41SPEAKER_05: Understand what is going to make the trip a success for you and then prioritize that.
- 47:46SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 47:47SPEAKER_02: Agreed.
- 47:49SPEAKER_03: Such good advice, everyone.
- 47:56SPEAKER_00: Tristan, what are you most excited to do or experience at Disneyland Paris?
- 48:01SPEAKER_00: When you go.
- 48:03SPEAKER_03: I think Phantom Manor might be really high on that list.
- 48:09SPEAKER_03: Like, I don't know, like it's it just be it just kind of became on our radar because my wife was like, hey, uh my tickets also work at Disneyland Paris.
- 48:18SPEAKER_03: And I was like, Oh my god, well, what are we doing?
- 48:20SPEAKER_03: Like, and so Harper's like, I guess we're going next year, right?
- 48:24SPEAKER_03: And I was like, uh yeah, we're trying to make it happen.
- 48:29SPEAKER_03: But I now I'm like I'm really transfixed on it now that I'm like, oh, I have to make it happen.
- 48:34SPEAKER_04: Even my practical wife is insisting that we go back because we didn't get to do Phantom Manor the last time when she went.
- 48:40SPEAKER_04: That's true.
- 48:41SPEAKER_05: So I mean there's so many so many things you can do there, right?
- 48:46SPEAKER_05: So we got while we were in Paris, we got to do a baking experience where we made croissants and baguettes, and it was incredible.
- 48:53SPEAKER_05: And then we went on a uh Paris by Emily tour for the Emily in Paris series and watched all of those things.
- 49:00SPEAKER_00: So fun.
- 49:01SPEAKER_05: And this Emily was literally Emily in Paris, which I was not, but so like there's so many things that you can add on to it, Tristan.
- 49:10SPEAKER_05: It's like you you have to go because it's getting to see the Disney that you love in this beautiful, exotic place that I I really feel like Paris embodies your feelings of Disney of just relax and enjoy the world that you're in.
- 49:23SPEAKER_02: Sure.
- 49:23SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we loved the excursions Sean set up for us when we were in Paris.
- 49:28SPEAKER_02: So yeah.
- 49:31SPEAKER_05: So you have to go.
- 49:32SPEAKER_04: We decided to have any other questions for our guests since you were the newbie here or or what you need to know.
- 49:40SPEAKER_03: I'm sure I'll be messaging all of them at some point to be like, okay, listen.
- 49:44SPEAKER_03: But yeah, what do you think?
- 49:46SPEAKER_03: Because you guys have both done, you know, you did one day, but when you guys went, um, Keegan and Katie with Sean and Jackie, how long did you guys stay in the parks?
- 49:53SPEAKER_03: Like how many days did you do that?
- 49:55SPEAKER_03: That was also one.
- 49:57SPEAKER_03: Was it just one?
- 49:58SPEAKER_03: And then Emily and Aaron, how many days did you guys do?
- 50:02SPEAKER_02: Um, two total, one park per day is how we did it.
- 50:05SPEAKER_02: We we park hopped briefly the second day to just get one last glimpse of sleeping beauty's castle.
- 50:11SPEAKER_02: Um, but essentially one park per day.
- 50:13SPEAKER_02: So yeah.
- 50:14SPEAKER_03: Is it possible to do it all in like just two days then essentially?
- 50:22SPEAKER_02: I mean, we did.
- 50:23SPEAKER_02: We don't feel like we missed any.
- 50:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no, we don't, yeah.
- 50:26SPEAKER_01: We feel like we got we accomplished what we wanted to do anyway in those two days.
- 50:30SPEAKER_01: And we thought like if we would go back, we would do a third day just so we could hop back and forth as many times and do like our favorite lives multiple times.
- 50:40SPEAKER_01: But otherwise, yeah, I think you could.
- 50:44SPEAKER_05: I'll be honest, Tristan.
- 50:45SPEAKER_05: I think the only thing we couldn't do in one day with our prioritizing of how we did it was we couldn't see both nighttime shows.
- 50:51SPEAKER_05: So we had to choose the drone show or the fireworks.
- 50:54SPEAKER_02: Both so worth it.
- 50:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 50:57SPEAKER_05: Good to know.
- 50:58SPEAKER_05: But past that, it is, it's it's entirely possible to do it.
- 51:01SPEAKER_05: It's the premiere passed you a lot, right?
- 51:04SPEAKER_00: I mean it did.
- 51:06SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 51:06SPEAKER_00: I I still think we would have been able to accomplish almost everything.
- 51:12SPEAKER_00: Okay, but perhaps not frozen and ratatouille.
- 51:18SPEAKER_05: We would have had to pay for the single pass for those probably to do it in one day.
- 51:22SPEAKER_05: Yes.
- 51:22SPEAKER_05: But you could have done it without having to spend the on the full premiere pass.
- 51:26SPEAKER_05: There are ways to do it much cheaper than that.
- 51:29SPEAKER_05: So I if you only have a day, you should still do it.
- 51:33SPEAKER_05: It's well worth it.
- 51:35SPEAKER_03: Well, my bougie self was like, we'll do a week.
- 51:38SPEAKER_03: And then I'm like, Well, do I need to?
- 51:40SPEAKER_04: Like, you probably need a week in Paris, Kristen.
- 51:47SPEAKER_03: Well, of course.
- 51:48SPEAKER_03: Yes, of course, of course.
- 51:49SPEAKER_03: Yes, I'm excited.
- 51:50SPEAKER_03: But I'll I'll definitely reach out to all of you at some point to just gauge the uh the details and get some advice because you're all such knowledgeable people, you know, which is why we're here.
- 52:03SPEAKER_04: And very fun.
- 52:04SPEAKER_04: You guys have been great guests.
- 52:05SPEAKER_04: Thank you all.
- 52:06SPEAKER_04: You really have thank you to come share your adventures with us.
- 52:12SPEAKER_05: Yeah, thanks for having us.
- 52:14SPEAKER_05: And a call back to the very beginning.
- 52:16SPEAKER_05: I did in fact Shanson a picture of the teenage mutant ninja turtles at I'm still confused.
- 52:24SPEAKER_04: I still need to track that.
- 52:27SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's that is what do they call it with the painting?
- 52:31SPEAKER_04: What do they call it with the painting and checking its authenticity?
- 52:35SPEAKER_04: It's uh provenance.
- 52:38SPEAKER_04: I need to check the provenance of that photo and figure out what the teenage mutant ninja turtles were doing at Disney.
- 52:45SPEAKER_04: But I'm glad they were there for you and your mother, Tristan or Keegan, when you needed them most.
- 52:50SPEAKER_06: Yes, thank you.
- 52:51SPEAKER_03: I I'm thrilled for you, and I'm super curious about that as well.
- 52:54SPEAKER_03: Uh, but yeah, like thank you so much for doing this tonight, guys.
- 52:58SPEAKER_03: We really do appreciate it.
- 52:59SPEAKER_03: It's really a pleasure to chat with all of you.
- 53:05SPEAKER_02: It was so much fun.
- 53:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it was fun.
- 53:07SPEAKER_02: And we love meeting everybody.
- 53:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 53:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 53:11SPEAKER_03: Well, as we as you know how we wrap up this show, um, there's a certain phrase we now say, and if you've listened recently, it's uh well by you.
- 53:26SPEAKER_03: Thank you all for listening to you.
