- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Hello everyone, welcome to the Almost Mans podcast. Today Ben
- 0:09Speaker 2: isn't here, but I am joined by our producers and
- 0:12Speaker 2: our sound engineer, Easton and Heather, and they're gonna give
- 0:16Speaker 2: some of their opinions on the big news of the
- 0:18Speaker 2: day of the week. This week, it was announced that
- 0:22Speaker 2: Taylor Frankie Paul is the new Bachelorette for season twenty two.
- 0:27Speaker 2: If you don't know who she is, or you didn't
- 0:30Speaker 2: know who she is, you probably know who she is now.
- 0:33Speaker 2: She is famous for two things. First, she was an influencer,
- 0:38Speaker 2: kind of famous on her own via Instagram and TikTok,
- 0:42Speaker 2: kind of one of, as she likes to say, the
- 0:44Speaker 2: founders of mom talk. And she is also on the
- 0:51Speaker 2: real The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. She's a thirty
- 0:55Speaker 2: one year old Utah native, and after completing airing two
- 1:00Speaker 2: seasons of Mormon Wives, she's now doing a Hulu crossover,
- 1:04Speaker 2: basically an ABC Hulu crossover, and she's going to be
- 1:07Speaker 2: the lead of this show. It makes a lot of
- 1:10Speaker 2: sense to me. When I first saw this announcement, I
- 1:14Speaker 2: was thinking it was a very good idea I have
- 1:17Speaker 2: a little bit more of mixed feelings. Now we'll get
- 1:19Speaker 2: to that in a second. I do want to just
- 1:21Speaker 2: break down her a little bit more. Her announcement, particularly
- 1:26Speaker 2: a little bit more so. It was a couple days ago,
- 1:29Speaker 2: the day before he announcement. Two days before her announcement,
- 1:31Speaker 2: that Call Her Daddy's, Alex Cooper posted on the Call
- 1:37Speaker 2: Her Daddy Instagram that she was there was like, there's
- 1:40Speaker 2: a cake on it and it said season thirty, Season thirty. Yeah,
- 1:45Speaker 2: because people were bracing for season thirty of The Bachelor
- 1:49Speaker 2: to be announced. And then she slices open the cake
- 1:52Speaker 2: as if it's a gender reveal and it's pink, which
- 1:55Speaker 2: kind of gave all of us sleuth's hints that perhaps
- 2:00Speaker 2: a Bachelorette season was going to be announced instead of
- 2:04Speaker 2: a Bachelor season. And then we also thought, Okay, Alex
- 2:08Speaker 2: Cooper's probably going to handle this announcement. Seems like it's
- 2:10Speaker 2: an all around ABC Hulu announcement because we know that
- 2:14Speaker 2: Alex Cooper just got her own show with Hulu and
- 2:18Speaker 2: they're kind of keeping this in the family. Also, she
- 2:20Speaker 2: did a really big interview with Rachel Kirconnell. It just
- 2:23Speaker 2: kind of made sense for her to get the first
- 2:26Speaker 2: interview with the new lead seems based on the Instagram
- 2:31Speaker 2: that it was going to be a Bachelorette, and that's
- 2:34Speaker 2: when people started speculating that it would be kind of
- 2:37Speaker 2: a stunt casting, that it may not necessarily be somebody
- 2:41Speaker 2: from the franchise's past. When I saw people speculating, my
- 2:46Speaker 2: first thought when I saw that name, when I was
- 2:49Speaker 2: Taylor Frigi Paul I was like, that's who it's going
- 2:51Speaker 2: to be. Twenty four hours later, it was announced that
- 2:54Speaker 2: she's indeed the Bachelorette, and like I said, my initial
- 2:59Speaker 2: thought was, this makes so much sense. This is so
- 3:03Speaker 2: good for the franchise, so good for the network and
- 3:05Speaker 2: for audience numbers because the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives
- 3:10Speaker 2: so freaking popular. People love that show. It has the
- 3:14Speaker 2: same demographic as the Bachelor. We've seen so many times
- 3:17Speaker 2: them like put the show on after Bachelor Bachelorette, or
- 3:24Speaker 2: they promote the crap out of the show on Bachelor Bachelorette.
- 3:27Speaker 2: There's so much twisted up because they know the demographic
- 3:31Speaker 2: is so similar. There's people who watch the Secret Lives
- 3:34Speaker 2: of Mormon Wives that probably have watched Bachelor in the past,
- 3:39Speaker 2: but maybe have taken a break from him. And then
- 3:41Speaker 2: there's probably people now who have only watched Secret Lives
- 3:46Speaker 2: and Mormon Wives, and now they're going to end up
- 3:49Speaker 2: watching the Bachelorette. The crossover audience is so so good
- 3:54Speaker 2: for numbers. I think they're going to get back a
- 3:58Speaker 2: lot of viewers that have dropped off, and they're gonna
- 4:00Speaker 2: get a lot of new viewers because of this. Now,
- 4:05Speaker 2: I think the more I saw comments about her being
- 4:10Speaker 2: named the Bachelorette, I started thinking, Okay, so it's actually
- 4:15Speaker 2: more controversial than I thought because I have never watched
- 4:19Speaker 2: Secret Lives Mormon Wives. Now, guess what I'm gonna be
- 4:22Speaker 2: watching it. I'm gonna watch all those seasons before the
- 4:27Speaker 2: series the Bachelorette airs for sure. Like last night I
- 4:31Speaker 2: was lying in bed, I was like, I don't feel
- 4:33Speaker 2: like watching the summer I turn pretty right now, I'll
- 4:35Speaker 2: just watch something in the background and guess what that was?
- 4:38Speaker 2: Gonna be Secret Lives, Right, So they're also getting Bachelor
- 4:45Speaker 2: viewers who have never watched Mormon Wives to watch Mormon
- 4:49Speaker 2: Wives all over. Great network decision. I'm going on and
- 4:52Speaker 2: on and on. But what I started seeing about her
- 4:57Speaker 2: as a figure. It's a bit more controvers and people
- 5:00Speaker 2: were Actually some people are not excited for two reasons. One,
- 5:04Speaker 2: lots of wele not excited that somebody from the Bachelor
- 5:07Speaker 2: franchise isn't getting this position. I totally understand that. I
- 5:11Speaker 2: think right now ABC's trying to they had to get
- 5:15Speaker 2: a stunt cast. They really need to get somebody who
- 5:17Speaker 2: is more of a celebrity than some of the girls
- 5:20Speaker 2: that could be up for consideration as the bachelorette. Rachel
- 5:25Speaker 2: Kirconnell is the main one to me, and I think
- 5:27Speaker 2: Susie was the other main one. I think some people
- 5:29Speaker 2: will throw Maria in there, but I think she has
- 5:31Speaker 2: been no offense to Maria a little more forgotten over
- 5:34Speaker 2: the past year. So I think when you think about
- 5:37Speaker 2: Susie and you think about Rachel Kirconnell, you're like, those
- 5:40Speaker 2: two are great options. Totally agree with that. Would love
- 5:43Speaker 2: to see either of them as bachelorette. But I don't
- 5:47Speaker 2: know how many new viewers are going to get from that.
- 5:50Speaker 2: I think they're going to get new viewers with this,
- 5:54Speaker 2: So I understand, Like, I get you guys who are saying,
- 5:58Speaker 2: like you want to keep it inside the family. I
- 6:00Speaker 2: love to keep things inside the family. I am a
- 6:02Speaker 2: Bachelor family member, you know what I mean. And I
- 6:05Speaker 2: don't really know this girl, but I can get past that.
- 6:11Speaker 2: The second thing that is controversial amongst Bachelor fans hearing
- 6:15Speaker 2: this announcement is that she has a misdemeanor for domestic assault.
- 6:23Speaker 2: I want to read this like off so that I'm
- 6:27Speaker 2: precise about it. In February twenty twenty three, Taylor was
- 6:31Speaker 2: arrested on misdemeanor charges of assault, criminal mischief, and commission
- 6:37Speaker 2: of domestic violence in the presence of a child. She
- 6:40Speaker 2: pleaded guilty in August twenty twenty three to aggravate assault,
- 6:45Speaker 2: and the other charges were dismissed, per The New York Post.
- 6:49Speaker 2: She said on Nick Viall's podcast in the same month,
- 6:53Speaker 2: she said, I want to be better for my kids,
- 6:55Speaker 2: and I feel like right now that's my top priority.
- 6:57Speaker 2: All I want is for them to be happy. Sarah
- 6:59Speaker 2: Harren post said something yesterday that I screenshot because I
- 7:02Speaker 2: thought this was poignant. This was the details of the
- 7:08Speaker 2: domestic violence incident. It says a video obtained by police
- 7:11Speaker 2: show Paul putting her boyfriend Dakota in a chokehold and
- 7:17Speaker 2: throwing chairs during an argument, a child was struck by
- 7:23Speaker 2: one of the metal barstools that she threw. It hit
- 7:28Speaker 2: her in the head, a two year old her two
- 7:29Speaker 2: year old daughter in the head, causing a painful bump. Oh, no,
- 7:33Speaker 2: there was a baby. It was a baby. It was
- 7:34Speaker 2: a younger than a two year old. It hit her
- 7:37Speaker 2: young daughter in the head, causing a painful bump, and
- 7:40Speaker 2: a two year old was also in the home at
- 7:42Speaker 2: the time when the police arrived. According to the probable
- 7:48Speaker 2: cause statement, officers observed Paul hitting Dakota her boyfriend after
- 7:53Speaker 2: they arrived home, and she admitted to throwing furniture. So
- 8:00Speaker 2: that's what I'm going to bring our panel in Heather Easton.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Do you guys watch Mormon Wives? Are you privy to
- 8:08Speaker 2: this information? I was like, gosh, because guess what if
- 8:14Speaker 2: a guy had done this, the double standard would have been.
- 8:17Speaker 2: We would never have a guy who had done this
- 8:20Speaker 2: as the lead of the show.
- 8:22Speaker 3: I hear where you're coming from, and I think in
- 8:27Speaker 3: a normal situation, yes, of a lead for the show,
- 8:31Speaker 3: that would be huge. I will say, as a longtime
- 8:36Speaker 3: viewer of Mormon Wives, this all is shown. Actually, the
- 8:41Speaker 3: police bodycam footage. Portions of it are shown actually in
- 8:45Speaker 3: the very first episode of season one. It is addressed
- 8:49Speaker 3: from the jump.
- 8:51Speaker 2: Yeah, it's not hidden. I totally understand that yet.
- 8:53Speaker 3: Yeah, she does talk about in the first season of
- 8:56Speaker 3: the show. I think that I don't think anybody would
- 9:01Speaker 3: condone what she did, but I think that she has
- 9:06Speaker 3: taken accountability for it, and I think that in that stance,
- 9:12Speaker 3: I'm open as a viewer to seeing her still gain
- 9:16Speaker 3: opportunities because I've watched her on the show really feel
- 9:20Speaker 3: a lot of remorse and guilt for that evening.
- 9:24Speaker 2: Okay, obviously, like the argument with the boyfriend is one thing.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Getting hostile with the boyfriend bad, Yeah thing, Definitely, it's
- 9:33Speaker 2: the children present to me. To me, it hits on
- 9:36Speaker 2: them that the children are present, and one got hit
- 9:38Speaker 2: like she was so she so disregarded them in that
- 9:43Speaker 2: moment that that makes me that's very concerning.
- 9:48Speaker 4: I think it's valid what you're saying.
- 9:50Speaker 5: I was thinking about this, like, do we does the
- 9:53Speaker 5: lead of the bachelor or a bachelorette have to be.
- 9:58Speaker 2: Like perfect?
- 10:00Speaker 5: Yeah, Like like you know, like is this someone that
- 10:02Speaker 5: we look to as like a moral standard. I mean,
- 10:05Speaker 5: obviously we don't want to have like a full blown
- 10:08Speaker 5: hardcore criminal like on the show, but also like I
- 10:12Speaker 5: don't know, I am. I think it's horrible and and
- 10:15Speaker 5: and you know, I condemn what she did. I think
- 10:18Speaker 5: it's this terrible, but I also think that it will
- 10:22Speaker 5: be interesting to see someone go through this process that
- 10:26Speaker 5: has been through something terrible like this and is hopefully
- 10:30Speaker 5: going to find some redemption. Yeah, I was thinking about
- 10:34Speaker 5: what I was thinking about what you said earlier about
- 10:36Speaker 5: like the going outside the Bachelor family and like this
- 10:40Speaker 5: is the first time. Is this the first time this
- 10:43Speaker 5: has happened where it's been someone like like since the
- 10:45Speaker 5: early days.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Right, thank you for bringing that up. First bachelorette that
- 10:49Speaker 2: hasn't been part of the family. Bachelors used to be
- 10:52Speaker 2: chosen outside the family.
- 10:54Speaker 5: Like I remember, I can't remember when a couple of
- 10:57Speaker 5: years ago there was like rumors that it was going
- 10:59Speaker 5: to be Courtney card or something like there was like
- 11:01Speaker 5: and I know Chloe, that's right, Like, yeah, never in
- 11:04Speaker 5: a million years, I don't think what she do that,
- 11:06Speaker 5: but like everyone was really excited about that idea. And
- 11:09Speaker 5: I think that this is going to get a lot
- 11:10Speaker 5: of people that wouldn't normally like I mean even saying
- 11:13Speaker 5: it like it's going to bring a lot of people
- 11:14Speaker 5: who didn't normally watch the show. I think it is.
- 11:17Speaker 5: It is really exciting to see it because sometimes I
- 11:21Speaker 5: think it's easy to think of The Bachelor as like
- 11:24Speaker 5: existing in this like isolated universe, and this reminds me like,
- 11:28Speaker 5: oh no, there's other There's people that can come from
- 11:30Speaker 5: all over him do this.
- 11:31Speaker 1: You know.
- 11:31Speaker 5: It's like when you watch Captain American iron Man team
- 11:34Speaker 5: up to fight a bad guy. It's like, oh my god,
- 11:35Speaker 5: this can happen.
- 11:37Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly. It's kind of like Avengers, like because it's
- 11:40Speaker 2: crossover show. And I really do like that. I think
- 11:43Speaker 2: it was creative, and I think that's something that we've
- 11:46Speaker 2: been asking them to do for a while. Be like,
- 11:48Speaker 2: if you want you spike this thing, you have to
- 11:51Speaker 2: get a stunt cast or you find like a diamond
- 11:53Speaker 2: in the rough, like Joey, who was just the perfect
- 11:56Speaker 2: the perfect lead.
- 11:57Speaker 3: I will say too, just because we've had him on
- 11:59Speaker 3: the pod cast. But Graham Bunn and some others have
- 12:03Speaker 3: confirmed to us that even back in the day, the
- 12:06Speaker 3: producers were courting uh Chrishelle Strauss, who everybody knows now
- 12:11Speaker 3: from selling Sunset. But back then she was a soap actress.
- 12:14Speaker 3: So it's not like they haven't dipped their toe in
- 12:17Speaker 3: and tried to make something.
- 12:19Speaker 4: Like this happen throughout the years.
- 12:21Speaker 3: This is just the first time we're actually seeing it
- 12:23Speaker 3: come to fruition.
- 12:25Speaker 2: Yes, definitely. I mean I feel like they started they
- 12:39Speaker 2: kind of like pretended that like Baldwin, this is one
- 12:42Speaker 2: of the Baldwin brothers, right.
- 12:44Speaker 4: Oh my god, I don't remember that, but I wouldn't be.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Sur that was like in the two thousands. I think
- 12:49Speaker 2: he was one of the Baldwin brothers. I don't think
- 12:50Speaker 2: it was a coincidence his last name was Baldwin. But yeah,
- 12:55Speaker 2: so guys, that is your new bachelorette. I'm sure we're
- 12:58Speaker 2: going to have so many more developing ainions on this
- 13:00Speaker 2: whole thing. I do think it's great that she had
- 13:05Speaker 2: in June posted something about her being the bachelorette. It's
- 13:09Speaker 2: a great TikTok. You should watch it. I remember in
- 13:12Speaker 2: June watching it being like, oh, this is that girl
- 13:14Speaker 2: from that show, right, And I was like, that's cute,
- 13:17Speaker 2: that's clever. And I'm wondering whether that's when they started
- 13:21Speaker 2: thinking about it, whether that was something that like, was
- 13:25Speaker 2: that a sign, an early sign where they already thinking
- 13:29Speaker 2: about it. It looks like Heather hasn't felt.
- 13:30Speaker 3: So I can tell you on this what I do
- 13:32Speaker 3: know just from knowing people on the casting side of
- 13:36Speaker 3: this season.
- 13:38Speaker 4: It totally was what flipped everything.
- 13:40Speaker 3: They were highly they were hired to cast the Bachelor,
- 13:45Speaker 3: that was the focus for the entire crew that was
- 13:48Speaker 3: working on that show. And then when that TikTok. I
- 13:53Speaker 3: have heard differing things, so I don't when that around
- 13:58Speaker 3: the time that TikTok came out, I've heard both that.
- 14:01Speaker 3: I think she said on Call Her Daddy that producers
- 14:04Speaker 3: reached out to her. I've heard that her team reached
- 14:07Speaker 3: out to producers. But that's what flipped around that time,
- 14:13Speaker 3: what flipped the casting to switch over to a bachelorette
- 14:17Speaker 3: because if you remember too, we had just gotten fully
- 14:21Speaker 3: green lit for thirty season thirty of The Bachelor, and
- 14:26Speaker 3: that's when as un as that came out, that's when
- 14:28Speaker 3: casting went public, and so they wouldn't have done that
- 14:33Speaker 3: if the intention was to do a season of the Bachelorette.
- 14:35Speaker 3: Like this was definitely a switch up after the fact.
- 14:41Speaker 2: Super interesting, but you know, it makes sense we were
- 14:44Speaker 2: due for a bachelorette and not a bachelor anyway. Yep.
- 14:47Speaker 2: And I think people are happy because they're like, Okay,
- 14:50Speaker 2: that was unfair to the girls, so just skip out
- 14:53Speaker 2: on a bachelorette season.
- 14:54Speaker 4: I did say more thing about this.
- 14:56Speaker 3: I feel like we saw a lot of the negativity
- 14:59Speaker 3: right in the comments. I just want to bring up
- 15:02Speaker 3: something and get your take on this, But say, like
- 15:06Speaker 3: for Grant and Juliana right when that breakup happened, if
- 15:10Speaker 3: you guys remember a lot of the comments I saw.
- 15:13Speaker 3: And I've seen this with past seasons where nobody's gonna last,
- 15:17Speaker 3: they're in their twenties, cast older, get people that really
- 15:21Speaker 3: want to get married all of those things right, And
- 15:24Speaker 3: here we have she's thirty one, who's thirty one, who
- 15:27Speaker 3: has three children, who's already been married and is divorced.
- 15:32Speaker 4: I think personally.
- 15:34Speaker 3: That this is actually somebody that is more inclined to
- 15:38Speaker 3: find a lasting relationship or an actual marriage versus what
- 15:42Speaker 3: we've been seeing in past seasons of twenty somethings who
- 15:48Speaker 3: don't really know what they want when they come on
- 15:50Speaker 3: the show.
- 15:51Speaker 4: I don't know. I think you guys agree to agree
- 15:53Speaker 4: on that.
- 15:54Speaker 2: No, she's definitely gonna look, I believe for something more serious.
- 15:57Speaker 2: She definitely talks in the Call Her Daddy episode about
- 16:00Speaker 2: being like I cannot call her a serial monogamous, but
- 16:03Speaker 2: she's into relationships. She's certainly not a serial monogamous. Because
- 16:07Speaker 2: that brings us into our next topic, which is her
- 16:10Speaker 2: soft swinging scandal. I'm catching up on this as I
- 16:14Speaker 2: have not watched Secret Lives. I will be you guys,
- 16:17Speaker 2: as I'm catching I'm gonna do it. This is gonna
- 16:19Speaker 2: be fun. But she and I like the fact that
- 16:23Speaker 2: I'm going to be able to get to know the
- 16:25Speaker 2: bachelorette so deeply with having two and I think maybe
- 16:28Speaker 2: three seasons airing before her season will be airing. But
- 16:33Speaker 2: the thing that started the whole show was this soft
- 16:36Speaker 2: swinging scandal. Basically, she and her husband had an agreement
- 16:40Speaker 2: that they weren't going to go all the way with
- 16:42Speaker 2: somebody else, but she did step out of that agreement. Okay,
- 16:46Speaker 2: so she cheated on him. It led to their divorce,
- 16:51Speaker 2: and then after all of that, she ended up getting
- 16:54Speaker 2: with this guy, Dakota, who's very well known on her show,
- 16:58Speaker 2: and she ends up having a child. Ever with Dakota,
- 17:02Speaker 2: in September twenty twenty three. Oh, she announced it in
- 17:06Speaker 2: twenty twenty three, and she had the baby March twenty
- 17:09Speaker 2: twenty four. So and Dakota is the one that she
- 17:12Speaker 2: has legal issues with. So, Guys, where I'm going with
- 17:17Speaker 2: this is they're swinging involved, and I think that people
- 17:22Speaker 2: are going to be like, all right, is swinging going
- 17:24Speaker 2: to be involved in a future relationship Mormons? I mean,
- 17:28Speaker 2: I know it's a sort of taboo. It may be
- 17:32Speaker 2: a misunderstanding of sorts to some, but some do believe
- 17:38Speaker 2: in polygamy, and some are polygamists and some aren't. And
- 17:42Speaker 2: I can't say I'm an expert on all this, so
- 17:45Speaker 2: I'm sorry if I'm an offensive it in any way.
- 17:48Speaker 2: But I'm wondering what her situation with polygamy is going forward.
- 17:54Speaker 2: Has she talked about on the show Heather Anyston.
- 17:56Speaker 5: We should clarify that polygamy is not is like being married.
- 18:00Speaker 5: Polyamory is what we're talking about, I think, because that's
- 18:03Speaker 5: like having romantic encounters with more than one person. Polygamy
- 18:08Speaker 5: is like being married to more, which is illegal.
- 18:10Speaker 2: And oh thank you, okay, polygamy married? Well, isn't it
- 18:14Speaker 2: just like isn't like a thrupple polygamy you don't have
- 18:17Speaker 2: to be married. No, that's having a third person in
- 18:20Speaker 2: the relationship.
- 18:21Speaker 3: Polygamy is structured in religion, like they do it because
- 18:26Speaker 3: of the scripture that they read and believe in the
- 18:28Speaker 3: got be married to multiple women?
- 18:31Speaker 2: Okay?
- 18:31Speaker 5: Yeah, So polyamory is like having sex with other people and.
- 18:35Speaker 3: Being open about it. Like, yeah, smory is about having
- 18:38Speaker 3: multiple partners. And everybody's aware.
- 18:41Speaker 2: That polygamy and polyamory, yes, two different things. Yes, oh
- 18:47Speaker 2: no way.
- 18:48Speaker 5: Ethical non monogamy is another one yet I'm not sure
- 18:51Speaker 5: what the definition of that one is.
- 18:52Speaker 2: But oh my gosh, guys. Okay, So does she talk
- 18:56Speaker 2: on the show Secret Wives, Secret Live, Secret Wives about
- 19:02Speaker 2: her future in having multiple hookup partners or yeah, because
- 19:09Speaker 2: she's not into Mary, She's not into having a husband
- 19:13Speaker 2: that has multiple wives. Correct, That is correct, But swinging
- 19:17Speaker 2: is that in her future.
- 19:18Speaker 3: It seems to be that swinging has become off the
- 19:21Speaker 3: table since this situation. Her and Dakota have been very
- 19:25Speaker 3: on and off since all of this, But she is
- 19:29Speaker 3: not expressed about on the show about looking for somebody
- 19:32Speaker 3: that's interested in swinging. It's more like She's interested in
- 19:36Speaker 3: finding somebody and not having the swinging being held against her.
- 19:40Speaker 2: Is what it's like. Okay, all right, all right? So
- 19:44Speaker 2: that is that for Taylor on this podcast, and we
- 19:47Speaker 2: will have so many more thoughts and opinions soon, and
- 19:52Speaker 2: I as I watch Secret Lives, I will update you
- 19:56Speaker 2: guys on how I think she'll be as a lead,
- 20:00Speaker 2: how I think she is as a personality. I'll be
- 20:02Speaker 2: judge in.
- 20:04Speaker 3: This moment right now, Ashley, after talking it through, what's
- 20:08Speaker 3: your gut? Say right now? Are you interested in her
- 20:10Speaker 3: as the lead? Are you still? Are you citing with
- 20:13Speaker 3: Bachelor Nation in our negative comments and saying you're not interested?
- 20:17Speaker 2: Well, I was actually stunned by the amount of negative comments,
- 20:21Speaker 2: were you. I think that ABC's also taken aback by
- 20:25Speaker 2: the negative comments. I think that they thought this is
- 20:27Speaker 2: going to be like majority well received.
- 20:30Speaker 3: I'm going to say our group chat at work was
- 20:32Speaker 3: lighting up with people saying that they're thrilled about it.
- 20:35Speaker 3: I would say negative comments in general tend to speak
- 20:40Speaker 3: louder on the Internet than anywhere else, but I think
- 20:44Speaker 3: it's where you get your source, right. I think if
- 20:46Speaker 3: you probably went to her page, people were lighting up
- 20:48Speaker 3: the comments excited to see it, but if you went
- 20:51Speaker 3: on somewhere else you might see negative comments.
- 20:55Speaker 4: So I think it's a mixed bag.
- 20:57Speaker 3: But overall, people, personal people in my life are excited
- 21:00Speaker 3: about this.
- 21:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 21:03Speaker 5: And like an example I like to bring up is
- 21:05Speaker 5: like Ashley. You know my wife Allison, she's been She's
- 21:09Speaker 5: been around Bachelor people for many many years with respect,
- 21:14Speaker 5: she has had zero interest in the show until now.
- 21:16Speaker 5: Like she is a more secret lives a Mormon Wives fan.
- 21:20Speaker 5: She can't wait she will be watching Bachelorette this year.
- 21:22Speaker 5: She's pumped.
- 21:23Speaker 2: Yeah, my gut says that I am happy that this
- 21:37Speaker 2: decision was made because I think it's what's best for
- 21:40Speaker 2: the franchise and I want the franchise to thrive and
- 21:44Speaker 2: I think that this will get give it a boost. Agree,
- 21:47Speaker 2: I'm happy about it, all right. And if you guys
- 21:49Speaker 2: want to know more about Taylor's decision and all of
- 21:53Speaker 2: her plans as being the Bachelorette, listen to call her
- 21:56Speaker 2: Daddy interview. It's about an hour long, all right. And
- 22:00Speaker 2: now the Golden Bachelorette. The Golden Bachelor cast was announced
- 22:05Speaker 2: this week that the pictures and the bios have all
- 22:07Speaker 2: been released online. There's a podcast where Ben and Susan
- 22:11Speaker 2: broke it all down, so you guys can go check
- 22:14Speaker 2: that out. Now it's time for me to give my
- 22:16Speaker 2: quick predictions on this by just a quick swipe up
- 22:21Speaker 2: and down of this cast list. I have three women
- 22:25Speaker 2: that I think are going to be standouts. My Lynn,
- 22:32Speaker 2: the casino VIP hosts from Las Vegas. She knows four languages.
- 22:37Speaker 2: I think that just I'm this is based on looks alone.
- 22:41Speaker 2: You guys know that this is what we do. It's
- 22:42Speaker 2: a very vain segment of our show. I think that
- 22:46Speaker 2: she might be coming across as the sexiest and knowing
- 22:52Speaker 2: what we know about Mel, I do think that attractiveness
- 22:58Speaker 2: there's gonna be like a big component of physicality with
- 23:00Speaker 2: this man. He talked about not being attracted to people
- 23:04Speaker 2: like above the age of forty five. And I think
- 23:07Speaker 2: that she presents herself in just this one photo in
- 23:10Speaker 2: a very sexy way, and then she's a Vegas girl,
- 23:12Speaker 2: Like I just think that like he's going to be
- 23:14Speaker 2: pretty wooed by her. Then there is Nicole. She's from Miami.
- 23:24Speaker 2: She's very into health. We know that Mel is also
- 23:27Speaker 2: very into health. He really wanted to a woman who's
- 23:30Speaker 2: like was in shape and like again into aesthetics, but
- 23:34Speaker 2: also into physical health. He is an former NFL player.
- 23:38Speaker 2: I think that he made athleticism part of his life
- 23:41Speaker 2: through and through. This lady seems into that and again
- 23:46Speaker 2: also presents younger than her actual age. I'm sorry, I
- 23:52Speaker 2: don't have the cast up, Heather. Do you see what's
- 23:54Speaker 2: her age? Off hand? It's like sixty two or something.
- 23:57Speaker 2: Hold on, she is sixty five four, sixty four. She
- 24:02Speaker 2: doesn't not look sixty four. She's a hot lady. Think
- 24:07Speaker 2: that he's going to be into that. Then. My last
- 24:10Speaker 2: person on this list, and I think this could be
- 24:13Speaker 2: a very serious contender, is Maya Maia Maya. Would you
- 24:19Speaker 2: say that Maya Maya, Maya Maya. Okay, yeah, this woman
- 24:24Speaker 2: is below the technical I want to call it a
- 24:27Speaker 2: technical age set of sixty. On Gary season, we saw
- 24:32Speaker 2: nobody below sixty. On Jones season, we only saw Mark
- 24:37Speaker 2: under sixty. He was fifty seven, and he was obviously
- 24:41Speaker 2: on because he was Kelsey's dad and already a fan favorite.
- 24:45Speaker 2: We let him slide on that soft rule. This woman, Maya,
- 24:51Speaker 2: she is fifty eight and she is she looks good.
- 24:56Speaker 2: She's also a college sports consultant. She's had sports as
- 25:01Speaker 2: part of her life her entire way through, with her
- 25:03Speaker 2: boys and everything. There's a reason she let they let
- 25:06Speaker 2: her slip through at this age, and that's because they
- 25:10Speaker 2: think that she is so compatible with him. So I'm
- 25:14Speaker 2: excited to see where all that goes. Everybody likes me
- 25:18Speaker 2: to choose a villain from photos, too, which is kind
- 25:21Speaker 2: of hard, not my favorite thing.
- 25:24Speaker 3: What about maybe instead of villain, somebody who's gonna be
- 25:27Speaker 3: a stir or overly aggressive maybe in their approach.
- 25:32Speaker 2: All right, we might go with Terry. I can see
- 25:37Speaker 2: Terry having a little aggression. Let's go with that. You
- 25:42Speaker 2: guys know that I hate basing things off of It
- 25:45Speaker 2: makes me so uncomfortable.
- 25:46Speaker 4: It's all in fun.
- 25:47Speaker 2: I know it's in fun. Diane, She's gonna be a firecracker.
- 25:52Speaker 2: She's kind of like got a spiky cut.
- 25:55Speaker 3: I do love your predictions because it's so funny having
- 25:59Speaker 3: you and been doing this separately to see how in
- 26:02Speaker 3: sync you guys are, because I think two out of
- 26:05Speaker 3: your three that you chose are also the same that
- 26:07Speaker 3: he chose.
- 26:08Speaker 5: Oh.
- 26:08Speaker 2: I love that we should have her separately more often.
- 26:11Speaker 4: That's so funny. He absolutely loves my limb. He loves her.
- 26:15Speaker 2: Okay, and he liked Nicole, So like, okay, there we
- 26:19Speaker 2: just know Mel. We don't really know Mel. We've been
- 26:22Speaker 2: very judging towards Mel. But like, if we're going with
- 26:24Speaker 2: a guy who's basically just gonna make this about Hattyvatati's, like,
- 26:28Speaker 2: those are two Hattyvatatis. So there we go.
- 26:30Speaker 3: I think Lisa could have a strong possibility as well.
- 26:35Speaker 3: I think she's really pretty state park employee from Ohio, blonde.
- 26:40Speaker 2: Yes, she yes, I can see him. She has like
- 26:43Speaker 2: a Suzanne Summer's look. I can see that.
- 26:45Speaker 3: I also think Debbie, who's sixty five fitness professional from Denver,
- 26:51Speaker 3: all very fitness oriented, short brunette hair, I think she's
- 26:55Speaker 3: another strong contender as well.
- 26:57Speaker 2: Okay, yes, okay, she caught my eye as well. I
- 27:00Speaker 2: was going to add her to the list, but then
- 27:02Speaker 2: I scrolled down further and I saw more top three.
- 27:05Speaker 2: All right, let's get into the show. The other show
- 27:09Speaker 2: that we have going on, and that is the home
- 27:12Speaker 2: renovation show, Big Big News. I think the HGTV show
- 27:18Speaker 2: is starting to film this week, and someone that we
- 27:23Speaker 2: think has been a shoe in for this show posted
- 27:26Speaker 2: this week that he just landed in la and he
- 27:28Speaker 2: will call it home for the next month. It is
- 27:31Speaker 2: Tyler Cameron. It is so obvious that he will be
- 27:35Speaker 2: part of the show. He's whole Instagram and business is
- 27:39Speaker 2: around home renovation. He's even doing real estate with Ryan
- 27:45Speaker 2: Sarin and yeah, so we think that Tyler is definitely
- 27:49Speaker 2: there as the host of this show. And then very
- 27:52Speaker 2: interesting Alisha Alisha whatever you call her from this past
- 27:57Speaker 2: season a Bachelor in Paradise. She was very crypti and why.
- 28:00Speaker 2: She said that she had business opportunities that are keeping
- 28:03Speaker 2: her and Sean from focusing on their relationship. She said
- 28:06Speaker 2: she had to. It had to do with her interior
- 28:08Speaker 2: design background, and she wouldn't say more than that. So
- 28:12Speaker 2: my guess is that she will be one of the
- 28:14Speaker 2: contestants on the show. If you guys don't remember, the
- 28:17Speaker 2: format is that there will be bachelor contestants competing to
- 28:24Speaker 2: like renovate the house in their own ways. I guess,
- 28:31Speaker 2: do we know if it's a competition, like they will
- 28:33Speaker 2: be showing their chops basically and like saying this is
- 28:36Speaker 2: how I decorate this room, That's how I decorate that room,
- 28:38Speaker 2: and then like at the end of it all or
- 28:41Speaker 2: midway through, one person is crowned as the renovator of
- 28:44Speaker 2: the show, and then they will go forward with their
- 28:46Speaker 2: decore plans.
- 28:47Speaker 3: So if they're doing it like the way they did
- 28:51Speaker 3: the Brady Bunch Home Renovation show, it's gonna be everybody.
- 28:56Speaker 3: If they do it this way, it'll be people assigned
- 28:58Speaker 3: to specific rooms, and throughout the course of the season
- 29:02Speaker 3: you'll see all the renovations kind of happening at once,
- 29:05Speaker 3: with the giant reveal of the finished product at the end,
- 29:09Speaker 3: and then one winner being announced.
- 29:12Speaker 2: When winter being announced as like, what, like, what's their prize.
- 29:16Speaker 4: They're a cash prize for this show.
- 29:18Speaker 2: Oh, it's a cash prize. But then like, are we
- 29:20Speaker 2: going to keep the house decorated the way that they
- 29:22Speaker 2: wanted it decorated.
- 29:24Speaker 4: I think that's like still.
- 29:26Speaker 2: To that's new because Brady Bunch, They're not like going
- 29:29Speaker 2: to go film the Brady Bunch in the house.
- 29:31Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean the Brady Bunch House, right. They also
- 29:33Speaker 3: were trying to recreate it to look like the set,
- 29:36Speaker 3: So you have very specific ways that you need to do.
- 29:38Speaker 4: That with this.
- 29:39Speaker 3: I think that's what part of the what we don't
- 29:42Speaker 3: know about this show is like, will each room.
- 29:44Speaker 4: Have a theme?
- 29:46Speaker 3: Will certain rooms be switching spots in the mansion? I
- 29:49Speaker 3: don't know how you know deep they're gonna get with
- 29:52Speaker 3: knocking down build knocking down walls or is this just
- 29:56Speaker 3: more of like a visual refresh of the house. Okay.
- 30:01Speaker 2: Also something to make note of is that they're filming
- 30:04Speaker 2: this show for the next month, So let's just say
- 30:07Speaker 2: that takes us to the second week of October. Does
- 30:10Speaker 2: that mean that right away will be starting to film
- 30:13Speaker 2: Taylor's season? I think yes, But I also think that's
- 30:17Speaker 2: getting us really close down to Thanksgiving time. So actually
- 30:21Speaker 2: I'm gonna say probably not. I don't know when her
- 30:26Speaker 2: season will start filming unless they do a sped up version,
- 30:30Speaker 2: unless they don't do it at the Mansion at first.
- 30:34Speaker 2: Maybe they end at the mansion and they go travel first.
- 30:37Speaker 2: Because usually Thanksgiving to Christmas is a big heart New
- 30:41Speaker 2: Year's is a big hard no for production. They like
- 30:45Speaker 2: did Winter Games for ten days at the beginning of December,
- 30:50Speaker 2: but they're not going to have a season run into Thanksgiving,
- 30:53Speaker 2: and normally the season would start filming the week of
- 30:57Speaker 2: September twenty something. So what's your take on that Heather.
- 31:01Speaker 3: I'm I'm interested too, because right the only Bachelorette mom
- 31:07Speaker 3: that I can remember is Emily Maynard.
- 31:09Speaker 2: Man.
- 31:10Speaker 4: I know that they had to make special you know.
- 31:13Speaker 2: Filming they did. They shot it in North Carolina, and
- 31:17Speaker 2: I loved that they did it in North Carolina. And
- 31:19Speaker 2: I think for further promotion of Mormon wives, I say,
- 31:23Speaker 2: why not just start at her house?
- 31:25Speaker 3: And she's got three kids, so that's I think a
- 31:28Speaker 3: lot to uproot and take them to Los Angeles.
- 31:32Speaker 4: Not saying it couldn't be.
- 31:33Speaker 3: Done, but I think, yeah, that maybe maybe the show
- 31:37Speaker 3: starts out in Utah and moves filming to Los Angeles.
- 31:41Speaker 2: I don't know. Yeah, I think that is the way
- 31:44Speaker 2: that they should do it. I think it's too long,
- 31:47Speaker 2: This is not too this is not shaving Taylor at all.
- 31:49Speaker 2: I don't think she's going to go two months without
- 31:51Speaker 2: seeing your kids now. I think that she will. She
- 31:55Speaker 2: would not want to do that for that reason, So
- 31:58Speaker 2: I think they're growing to accommodate her in some way.
- 32:00Speaker 2: I think it makes sense to start it in Utah,
- 32:02Speaker 2: get a big, fancy mountain house out there, that'll be
- 32:07Speaker 2: a great start, and then like maybe have like a
- 32:09Speaker 2: cool reveal for the proposal or the Final four or
- 32:12Speaker 2: fantasy suites. I don't know how much ABC is going
- 32:17Speaker 2: to let the HGTV show integrate into them.
- 32:21Speaker 4: You know, that's that's a good thing to bring up.
- 32:23Speaker 3: I know that you just speculated earlier that you think
- 32:26Speaker 3: Tyler Cameron is going to be the host. I'm guessing
- 32:30Speaker 3: he's a contestant. Really yeah, And I'll say, because I
- 32:34Speaker 3: think HGTV is going to make their HGTV talent the
- 32:38Speaker 3: hosts of the shows.
- 32:39Speaker 2: Okay, okay, that makes sense. And we want to see Taylor's,
- 32:43Speaker 2: Tyler's work in action.
- 32:44Speaker 4: Tylor's work.
- 32:45Speaker 3: Yeah, It's like, sorry, did I say Taylor too? I
- 32:47Speaker 3: know I learned, but yeah, I think, like, right, we're
- 32:51Speaker 3: going to see the Property Brothers in there.
- 32:52Speaker 4: I'm yeah, we're going.
- 32:54Speaker 3: To see maybe the Taric and you know, Flip or
- 32:59Speaker 3: floor couple coming in there and doing some stuff, you
- 33:02Speaker 3: know what I mean.
- 33:03Speaker 4: And I think they're going to be.
- 33:05Speaker 3: Working alongside some of these Bachelor alum that will be.
- 33:09Speaker 4: There for the duration of filming.
- 33:10Speaker 3: What I do like is that it doesn't sound like
- 33:12Speaker 3: it's competition elimination. I am concerned after the Paradise prize.
- 33:20Speaker 3: If this prize money is going to be a little lackluster,
- 33:24Speaker 3: but I guess I want to wait and see.
- 33:26Speaker 2: I don't think it's gonna hit the six digits.
- 33:30Speaker 3: It's definitely not going to be five hundred thousand. That
- 33:32Speaker 3: is not going to be an HGTV prize cash.
- 33:36Speaker 4: But I'm definitely going to watch.
- 33:39Speaker 2: I will say, yeah, I'll definitely watch too. It may
- 33:42Speaker 2: not be a week to weeks hitch, but like it'll
- 33:44Speaker 2: definitely be on in a stream format.
- 33:47Speaker 4: Yeah agree.
- 33:49Speaker 2: Alrighty well, Heather, thank you so much for all your
- 33:51Speaker 2: opinions and for just your expertise and all this you
- 33:56Speaker 2: are so up to. You just know your okay, and
- 33:59Speaker 2: I love that for me and I love you for it,
- 34:02Speaker 2: and guys, we will talk to you very very soon
- 34:06Speaker 2: and hope Ben will be back with me. And until then,
- 34:09Speaker 2: I've been Ashley and I've been Heather. See y'all.
