- DadBodSportsCards: All right, welcome to the Dad Bot Sports Card Podcast. We are into FLINTTOWN: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: week four for the NFL season. So we got Flinttown Sports Cards, we got Aaron. we will go over a recap of week three, like a quick recap, any notes that any of us have. so we'll we'll start off. We'll start. Well, I already know where Aaron's probably gonna start off with because he loves football again after this past weekend. But Aaron, Aaron, why don't you start us off with with your week three notes? Aaron: Football is so unpredictable. It is 'cause I think I went like seven and nine on my picks. It is just crazy. Like the Raiders are and three. That's wow to me. DadBodSportsCards: The the who? Aaron: The Raiders are sorry, three and They're three and no. That's what I meant. They three and no. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, there's three Undefeated. FLINTTOWN: Ha ha. Aaron: Yeah. That's all I gotta say right now. It's just football is wild. DadBodSportsCards: Yep. you're not gonna s talk anything about your love for the Steelers again or you gotta save that? Aaron: They're the first game, so I'll save it. DadBodSportsCards: Okay, okay. Yeah, you're right. They are the first game. Alright, Flint, you got any notes for week three? FLINTTOWN: agree with Aaron man I like I told you we text about it like it's like any given Sunday I don't even know my what I did on picks because I didn't even add them up because it was like the Browns are two and one who would have thought that at all DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. FLINTTOWN: just crazy week like we were watching the Chicago Bears game and who would have thought Philly You know, like laid an egg. You had the opportunity with the third quarterback to put to w put up. And you can't even do that. That's how crazy the NFL DadBodSportsCards: That just shows that our num FLINTTOWN: is. DadBodSportsCards: that also shows that our number three quarterback could be a top ten quarterback for any other team in the league. That's Aaron: Yeah. FLINTTOWN: cash, please. DadBodSportsCards: As as as long as long as Ben Johnson's his coach, I should say. As long as that. FLINTTOWN: As long as Caleb's in the locker room with the robot. DadBodSportsCards: it's fucking awesome. That robe was fucking awesome. I wanna I wanna FLINTTOWN: Ha ha ha ha. DadBodSportsCards: know the story. I wanna know the story behind that robe. Is it something that the Bears FLINTTOWN: I know. DadBodSportsCards: asked asked them to wear so that people cause I was searching it today and like I'm sure a lot of people were searching Chicago Bears robe on fanatics, right? Like like I have my fanat I have another fanatics gear, salute to service sweatshirt. You know, on the live stream that we had yesterday for the NFC Unfiltered, I had the the salute to service jersey and everything. So maybe they asked him to wear it or know what it what it was because even on the sideline he looked like the unibomber. Like because he knows all the cameras are gonna be on him. Is he like trolling people, trolling the media, you know, cause they're gonna say shit about him? FLINTTOWN: I think he was I think he took a team shower with the team after. DadBodSportsCards: Maybe. Like, like, like the meme, FLINTTOWN: I'm joking, not joking. DadBodSportsCards: like there was a meme. There was a there was like a meme that I saw that showed like Caleb and his robe and Case Keenum talking. And it's like it's like on Christmas Day, the dad, like that's the dad watching his kids open the presents, right? That's that's what it was. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Who FLINTTOWN: Yes, yep. Yeah, with a copy Like That was funny though. Aaron: There. DadBodSportsCards: knows why he was wearing a robe? Yeah, you got anything else for week three? FLINTTOWN: No, that's pretty much it. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. My my notes from week three. I mean, yeah, football is unpredictable. Browns two and one. The Browns fans cheering for Deshaun Watson after he talks shit about them before the season. And Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: then like I had to hear Aaron screaming all day, you know, because Aaron: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: the Steelers were fucking going back and forth with the Bengals. And and, you know, then the live stream yesterday was a lot of fun before we got banned and removed. From YouTube because I was posting a live NFL game, which you can't do, which I realized at that point. So we got banned from that. then we came back after halftime without the live stream. We were just watching on our own devices. also, since mommy FLINTTOWN: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: money's there, you know, she defeated me in fantasy football, destroyed me by like 50 points. So that's all right. It's a long it's a long season. the main note from week three is the Bears are fucking back. The best team in football. We still got the best coach in football, and he proved Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: it by taking a number three quarterback on our roster who hasn't played a game in 1,09 days. Hasn't played a game in since 2023. And he lit up that Eagles championship defense with Vic Fangio. But we'll we'll get to all that later. All right, so our week three notes are done. We will go with FLINTTOWN: Okay. DadBodSportsCards: the week three record. All right. So Flint, Aaron, and my whatnot chat all had the same record in week three. They all went seven and nine. All right. It was a bad week, you know, for for you guys and everything. Like I said, football is unpredictable. Of course, I went ten and six because I was the only one who picked the Bears FLINTTOWN: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: and the Broncos. And then there was like another another pick that I I only had. But the Bears and Broncos is what helped me. That could have I mean the Broncos game could have went either way if the Broncos didn't get like that good call for them and pass interference. Aaron: Yeah, I saw that. DadBodSportsCards: But but I went I went 10 and 6. It was it was close up until the last two games, the Monday night football game and Sunday night football game, where it kind of gave me like a little three game lead this week. So the season, we got the whatnot chat at seven and nine. We didn't do the first two weeks with them, but so we'll take their their their winning percentage at the end of the season. The whatnot chat went seven and nine. Aaron and Flint are both twenty five and twenty-three, and I'm sitting at twenty-nine and nineteen. So I'm 10 games above 500. Aaron and Flint are two games above fun. 500. So yeah, you're for the season you're above five. I mean, FLINTTOWN: At least we're above five hundred. Aaron. Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: the I mean, even last like Flint, you were like in week two, you were 10 and 6, Aaron was nine and seven, I FLINTTOWN: Yep. DadBodSportsCards: was eight and eight. You know, like these past two weeks have been super unpredictable. I FLINTTOWN: Okay. DadBodSportsCards: I think we're starting to see who's the better teams. But I don't know. I went through these picks for week four just before the show and I struggled with quite a few of these games. FLINTTOWN: Yep. Yep. Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: And And we will get right to that. So we'll have Aaron go last because his his team is playing on Thursday night. And I also want to throw out there, since the live stream went well last night during the for the NFC North Unfiltered live stream because the Bears were playing on Monday night. Anytime an NFC North team is playing on a primetime game, we are gonna live stream for the NFC Unfiltered podcast instead. So we will live stream this Sunday night. for the Detroit Lions and Carolina Panthers. So we will live stream that one. you know, share it with your friends. We are one subscriber away on YouTube to getting 50. So that's to me, that's monumental because, you know, like we I don't FLINTTOWN: That's awesome. That's a big milestone. DadBodSportsCards: we don't really yeah, we don't really promote YouTube. We just kind of put our our our podcast there. And you know, if it grows, it grows, you know, that'll be great. All right. So let's start off with week four, the Thursday night game. I'll go first and we'll have Flint and then we'll have Aaron. We have the Pittsburgh Steelers at Cleveland Browns. Now, I had to save this game for last on my sheet because as FLINTTOWN: You'll be able to go on your vehicle DadBodSportsCards: good as Pittsburgh looked last week against Cincinnati, I don't think Aaron Rodgers is consistent enough to do it back to back FLINTTOWN: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: weeks or you know, or even like seven or eight times during the season and everything. So my pick is gonna be the Cleveland Browns, which I'm totally shocked that I'm picking the Cleveland Browns. But I watched the end of that Cleveland Browns and Carolina Panthers game last week. And the Browns defense isn't bad. Like they're a pretty good defense. This game is in Cleveland. So Deshaun Watson will be able to be around his hometown with his local Masseuses to massage his way to a victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Like, I I think Cleveland's got something going on. their head coach is what, Todd Monkey, I think is his name. Aaron: Monkey. DadBodSportsCards: And he's got their mind monken. He's got a he's got a different mindset for them. He said it himself. He's We're not the same old Browns. after after I think week one or week two, when Tomlin said something about the Browns. But give me Cleveland Browns. My player to watch has gotta be Judkins, 'cause he's got he hasn't really got the ball rolling in the rushing game. And I think in order for Cleveland to do anything this year, they're gonna have to get the Russian game going and not depend too much on Deshaun Watson. But they're gonna like rushing and their defense is gonna have to keep Pittsburgh off the field and contain Aaron Rodgers, which which I think they could do. who you got, Flint? FLINTTOWN: I have Pittsburgh. And I have Pittsburgh because I don't believe in this Browns. I don't believe Yeah, they're two and one. They're looking a lot better. But this is a divisional game. And Pittsburgh owns the Browns during these divisional games. And Everybody's hype on Cleveland right now. I just don't see it. I really don't. Like, if you watch the tape, Deshaun Watson is still ass. He's still ass. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. FLINTTOWN: So yeah, he can throw a touchdown and make the crowd cheer for him. And you know, now that's my quarterback after telling them that he sucks and booed off the field. So gimme Pittsburgh, Aaron Rodgers is the player to watch because if he DadBodSportsCards: Okay. FLINTTOWN: shows up inconsistent, they will win that game. DadBodSportsCards: Yep. All right, Aaron, the floor is yours, buddy. Aaron: K reason why I smiled when Flint said the Steelers own the Browns in these kind of situations is 'cause it's the exact opposite. Cleveland is eleven and one at home on Thursday nights, four and against the Steelers on Thursday nights at home. Yes. FLINTTOWN: All right, maybe I maybe maybe I am wrong. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. Aaron: Yes. We have not swept the Browns in a very long time. I think it's been s like five or six years since we swept the Browns. With that being said, we st we don't got Tom one anymore. None of that Tom one trap game bullshit that happens every single year. This is a different team. And I think we can try to break this curse. Because like I said, they're eleven and one at home on Thursday night. They haven't played a an away game on Thursday night since twenty sixteen. So DadBodSportsCards: wow. Aaron: the schedule makers they know that the Browns and also saw someone else say that the AFC North on like primetime games, it favors home. Like that's the big thing. But I'm still gonna pick Pittsburgh. The offense stepped up so much last week. And it was because of the O-line. They moved the O-line around. They brought Fonta Troy Fontanu back to the left side, McCormick back to the left side. Our first round pick. I'm so thankful we didn't get knocked in my Kai Lemon. I was so angry at the time, but now we got Maxi Anichor. And he played amazing. He was one of the best tackles last week. And our new right guard, Hoffman, he was one of the best guards last week. And basically shut down that whole Cincinnati D line. They did not do that much. Jalen Warren ran all over them and he needs to get more carries. Because Rico Daudo sucks and Jalen Warren proved that he is a running back one. The offense looked a lot better. We need Joey Porter Jr. back. That defense is that secondary is not that good. But I'm not scared of the Browns passing attack. So I'm gonna pick Pittsburgh. And my player Yeah. And my player to watch DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, it's not the Bengals. Yep. Yep. Aaron: is gonna be Jalen Warren. If he can keep those touches, he might be one of the better fantasy running backs. DadBodSportsCards: That poor dude had a ninety yard run called back. Aaron: Yes. And the in the the the round that he tripped, the f the field like DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. Aaron: blew up under him. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. Yeah, all right. So if if a total 180 from last week, where Aaron said he gave up on the Steelers, can't wait to get a top 10 pick for next year. And then, like I said, on Sunday, I heard him screaming all day. Like just screaming from I'm I'm on the main level and he's upstairs in his room and I could hear him screaming. And I had like, because the Bears weren't playing, so I had the four, I had four, like the multi-view on and four games on. And I knew when I heard a scream to look up on my upper left-hand corner to watch the the Steelers and Bengals game because something was happening at that time. So total 180. Aaron is a believer again. And then, you know, next week it could be opposite because because it it Aaron: It's all in the trenches. Stat alone. DadBodSportsCards: it is all in the trenches. You're I I think you're right. I mean that your defense didn't do anything last week, but again you were playing against the Bengals. You got Burrow, Chase, but they they came up big when it counted it towards the end there. Aaron: Yes. DadBodSportsCards: I thought Burrow was going to lead them down and and have them win the game, but they were able to get that fumble from him. But you're right, Cleveland doesn't have the offense that they do, but their defense is a lot better than the Bengals, I think. So we'll see. I I think it's gonna be I think it's gonna be low scoring. and Aaron: Yeah, it could be. DadBodSportsCards: it's gonna come down to it's gonna come down to who got the better massage during the week. And so I'm gonna go with Watson on that since he has a history track record of better massages. All right. All right, so let's move on to the next game. This was another game that I saved like second to last because I couldn't I I didn't know. So it is our first London football game. So it is gonna be Sunday morning at nine thirty AM. And we'll have Aaron go first, then Flint and then myself would do the normal order. so we got the Indianapolis Colts at Washington Commanders. Who do you got, Aaron? Aaron: I got Washington. They beat Seattle and Indy barely beat Texans, who I don't think is good. Washington went out there and like they it was a crazy upset. Sunny Styles is a monster. He might win Defensive Player the Year. Like he had that pick, he had a great deflection, and he's just all over the field. I don't trust Indy. They barely snuck out a win against the Texans. Like I said, I don't Like, I'm losing faith in them. They started off 0-3 last year, but that offense is just abysmal. And I have more faith in Washington for them to put up over 30 points. Well they got to pick six, but still put up a lot of points against the Seattle defense. My player to watch is gonna be Mariota. Can he keep up the pace? Because Jane Daniels, I don't know when he's gonna be back. So Mariota, he needs to s play at a starting level. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. I mean, Jaden Daniels could be back maybe, maybe in like three weeks, kinda like Caleb. Like they're kinda in the s same time frame. just I think it's just gonna be like whatever they think that, you know, he can take some 'cause he's gonna still have pain in his left elbow. Thankfully Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: it's not his throwing elbow. So maybe they can get away with it w yeah, maybe they can get away with it with like FLINTTOWN: I was just gonna ask that if it was a strolling. DadBodSportsCards: put a brace on it or something. But I mean if but if like like the Bears, if you got your backup quarterback winning games, that buys an extra week of recovery for your starting FLINTTOWN: Yep. DadBodSportsCards: quarterback, I think. So all FLINTTOWN: Yep. DadBodSportsCards: right, Flint, who do you got between the Colts and the Commanders? FLINTTOWN: Like you, this was a hard one to pick. I literally just did my pick DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. FLINTTOWN: on this one. And I didn't have much faith in Washington in the beginning of the year, but their defense looks really, really good. And I was very surprised. The eye test to me. Is Washington is a lot better than on paper. And I'm gonna go with Washington, even with the backup quarterback. Indy doesn't really make the splash for me. Like watching them. Indy, like they're not they're just like a basic team. And I don't want to say that in a negative way, because like they're not. Horrible, but they're not like elite. You know what I mean? DadBodSportsCards: Right. Right. Right. Aaron: Yeah. FLINTTOWN: Washington, you look at their defense and you're like like Aaron said, Sonny Styles is unbelievable. Like the guys all over the field. So let me go with Washington. I'll piggyback up, Aaron, on that one. DadBodSportsCards: All right. Who's your player to watch? FLINTTOWN: Let's go with Danny dimes. DadBodSportsCards: Okay. So again, I'm opposite from you guys. This is two straight picks where I'm gonna go opposite. I'm going Indianapolis on this one. I think last week was a fluke with the commanders. You had Seattle going all the way from the West Coast to the East Coast. And you know, that's a three hour that's a three to four hour difference, whatever the whatever the daylight savings time is right now. But it let's say it's a three hour difference in the wrong way. So Seattle will be used to playing like a a one PM game for them. Their body feels like it's it's 10 a.m. for them on on the East Coast and everything. I think that played a factor. You also had Sam Darnold coming back as in his first game back. As good as you guys say that the commander's defense is Darnold lit them up with JSN. Now, Indy, Indy doesn't have a JSN. I get it. So this is why my player to watch is gonna be Jonathan Taylor. I think this is gonna be a Jonathan Taylor 200-yard rushing game in London. Both teams are traveling to London. So there's really no home field advantage. I guess, I mean, because Indianapolis is in the Midwest, so they're not coming all the way from the West Coast all the way to England. You know, they're only a couple hours behind, like one hour behind the the commanders, you know, in time zone wise. I I think the commanders are better than I thought they were gonna be. They they they played pretty well, but I think Indianapolis, I think they'll pull it off. I think it's gonna be a Jonathan Taylor game. The commanders were able to stop the run from the Seahawks, but the Seahawks don't really have a running game. Jadeon Price didn't do anything at all, and he fumbled in that game. And I think they just neglected the running game after that and just went with, hey, let's get the ball to our best player, JSN. so I think Indy's gonna do the same thing, get the ball to their best player, but it's gonna be coming from the running game. So I'll pick Indianapolis. My player to watch is gonna be Jonathan Taylor. All right, next game. We got the New England Patriots with crying Drake May. At the Buffalo Bills. Who do you got, Aaron? Aaron: Got Buffalo. to me this is a no brainer. The Patriots, there's no upside to that team. They're I don't know. Like I'm still upset that they beat the Steelers 'cause that's a game that we shouldn't have lost. But The Bills, they played horrible against the Chargers. However, they did get out the win. That defense did step up from previous weeks. So I'm gonna go with the Bills. My player to watch is gonna be Josh Allen. He put up a stinker last week. He had three turnovers and then two one yard rushing touchdowns. So he didn't really do much. He wasn't the reason they won the game. So it's gonna be him. He's gotta step up. If you like the first two weeks where he scored nine touchdowns in the first two weeks, not saying he has to be at that level, but he has to step up from last week. DadBodSportsCards: Yep. Flint, who do you got? FLINTTOWN: I also got the Buffalo Bills. what's the stat on Drake May? How many interceptions and fumbles Aaron: Six. FLINTTOWN: he has? Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: Got six interceptions. I don't know how many fumbles, but FLINTTOWN: It's like eight or something. It's DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. FLINTTOWN: it's crazy. So there's a problem there that isn't being addressed. And that's like if the quarterback can't keep the i if the quarterback has trouble with the ball, they're gonna have problems all the year long. DadBodSportsCards: Does he have small hands issue? Like was that ever FLINTTOWN: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: a thing? Because he does fumble a lot. You're right. So I like I've never heard that he has small hands. I don't know why he's fumbling a lot. Like you would because he he did a lot FLINTTOWN: Me either. I know that's DadBodSportsCards: in the playoffs last year. And you would think like over the offseason he would work on that. That way he didn't fumble as much as this season, but he has fumbled a lot. FLINTTOWN: Yeah. I don't know. I I never heard that he had small hands, DadBodSportsCards: Right. FLINTTOWN: but like I think they they laugh at Jared Goff because he has small hands and DadBodSportsCards: May maybe I I remember what who is it? Kenny Pickett is who they were saying had yeah, Kenny Pickett had small hands. Yeah. And though I think they also Aaron: Kenny Pickett had like the smallest hands. FLINTTOWN: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: said about Russell Wilson at some point too. And then Russell Wilson did some finger stretching to like when he got it measured again, it was like an inch longer or some shit. I don't know. Like that's just some of the shit that you know these scouts look at and shit. Who the fuck knows? Who knows? FLINTTOWN: You can stretch your fingers. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, apparently there's exercises where you know, I guess if you're doing spirit fingers. Like I guess, you know, you could stretch them out. But I I don't know. So who's who's your player to watch? FLINTTOWN: Drake May. DadBodSportsCards: Drake May. Yeah. I I think I think Drake May is a good player to watch. I'll say the same thing because he's done nothing this year. Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: like I don't I mean, the down the downfall, like the rise at the top where he was last year to the downfall where he's at now, it's night and day. I don't know why he's FLINTTOWN: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: playing so bad. I l like I said it I said it I think in week one when we first started the podcast or like one of the first podcasts for this season. I said, keep an eye out on the Patriots because there was a lot of offseason noise with that team where you brought in AJ Brown, which was a good thing, but he's he he's he hurts a lot of teams because he wants the ball all the time. But maybe this could have been just like a move for him where he straightened out, he's a team player, but then he got hurt. But then you also had the Vrabel stuff that he had to deal with in offseason. Like, I FLINTTOWN: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: don't know what's going on with this New England team. They're not playing like the way they were last year, and maybe it was just A sign of that they had a weak schedule last year and they got a better record. And maybe it's as simple as that. I don't know. I got the Buffalo Bills. They had five turnovers last week and looked awful in that first half against the Chargers. And at no point did I feel like the Chargers was going to win that game. So, like Buffalo's good. It was a fluke game that they had five turnovers. I don't know what happened. Maybe they took that team lightly. I have no idea. I don't think they would have taken that team lightly. I think it was just a bad start and a bad game for them, but they still ended up Scoring, like I think they won their game 24 to 16. And Aaron: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: you know, it was still a comfortable enough win for them. but yeah, Buffalo, let's watch Drake Wayne, let's see what he does. Let's can can he, you know, like redo last season's magic. And this has got to be a game that he has to do it in because it's a division game. I don't think it's gonna happen, but at the same time, FLINTTOWN: I don't either. DadBodSportsCards: football's so fucking unpredictable. Who the fuck knows? Like, who the fuck are we? We're I mean, we're just we're FLINTTOWN: Ha ha ha. Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: just three fans picking these games, right? So, like, who the fuck are we? Like FLINTTOWN: Yeah. Even the experts are like they're way off. Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: But it even experts are struggling. Yeah. Yeah. All right. The next game should be the game of the week because we have good old Case Keenum possibly starting. It might be Bajent. I think we should stick with Case Keenum, ride that hot hand. But we got the New York Jets at Chicago Bears. Another home game for the Bears. Aaron, who do you got? Aaron: The Bears. Got Chicago. Their offense looked good. Case Keenum. I heard I couldn't see the game very well, but heard that he had a couple close call interceptions. But that was his first game playing in over a thousand days. So if he does start again, he could clean that up. He looked good outside of that. He had three touchdowns. But the Jets offense. Breest Hall I think is out for the game or he's questionable. He's DadBodSportsCards: He is. He's weak to week. FLINTTOWN: Anne Wilson. Aaron: weak to weak. And Wilson too. DadBodSportsCards: Wilson Wilson's fine. He's good. So Aaron: Okay. DadBodSportsCards: he got knocked FLINTTOWN: Are you sure? DadBodSportsCards: out Yeah, he got knocked out of that last game but came back. So he had a head injury, but he came back. Yeah. Aaron: Okay. Okay. FLINTTOWN: All right. Aaron: Jets offense is something to look out for. They have played decent to good, and Geno Smith has thrown the ball pretty well. And the but the Bears defense, sixteen points last two games and only one touchdown, which was a very controversial touchdown. So the Bears defense has really stepped it up since week one. And that could be because they played the Eagles and the Vikings, but it looks like they're getting on track to be a team that's not gonna let up forty points a game. So I got the Bears. My player to watch is gonna be Case Kino. Can he replicate what he did last week? Three touchdowns, no turnovers. DadBodSportsCards: Yep. Who you got, Flint? FLINTTOWN: So this game is the battle of the Lions coordinators. Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn. Both highly respected across the league. I think the Jets are a lot better than what people expect and what they show on paper. Like, I really didn't like the last couple weeks they've really showed who they are. But with that being said, I think Chicago is gonna pull this one off. And I would stick with Case Keenum. You ride with the hot hand. DadBodSportsCards: I agree. FLINTTOWN: Now he does have to clean up like the couple passes that were almost interception, because the Jets will take advantage of that. Aaron Glenn's defense is no joke. He's a great defensive coordinator. My player to watch is Khalif Raymond. Dude balled out. Thirty-three DadBodSportsCards: It did. FLINTTOWN: years old, still balling out for and Aaron: He's thirty three. FLINTTOWN: he's the white I think he's thirty-three years old. Or like thirty-two Aaron: Jesus. FLINTTOWN: or thirty-three. Dude He's DadBodSportsCards: He's the bears he's the best bears wide receiver right now. Yeah. Aaron: Yeah, he is. FLINTTOWN: the number one Bears wide receiver right now, which is crazy. But he's good. He's DadBodSportsCards: Yep, there he is. Mm hmm. Yeah. FLINTTOWN: he's he like when he played for Detroit, you could always count on him. And Jared Goff had that connection with them because I think they were on the Rams too. DadBodSportsCards: Was Raymond I don't know. Was Raymond on the Rams? FLINTTOWN: Reynolds. Cle er maybe it wasn't Raymond. No. Yeah, Reynolds was on the Rams. Yeah, yeah, yeah. DadBodSportsCards: It could be Reynolds. Re I Reynolds was on there. I he was talking. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Aaron: Yeah, Josh Reynolds. FLINTTOWN: but Jared Goff even said that Cleve Raymond's a great player. But that's my player to watch, Cleve Raymond. DadBodSportsCards: All right. So obviously I'm gonna pick the Chicago Bears because they are again the best team in the NFL. And it it just what what I love most about it was the postgame and the locker room when Ben Johnson was talking to the team before he did his whole good, better, best thing, which you know still gives me goosebumps and everything. But he told he he thanked the players, he told the players this is what good teams do. You get punched in the mouth and then you go back to work the next day. The fact that he acknowledged that the Minnesota Vikings and Brian Flores beat like punched him and the and our players in the mouth that previous week shows me that he he learned from it. Right. And he also listened to the media because he also, when he talked to the media after the game, he told the media, he's like, apparently I can't coach without a number one drafted quarterback, or I can't coach with a backup quarterback either, or A non-mobile quarterback, even though he had Jared Goff before, you know, who's not mobile at all. So he he gave he game planned that game perfect. And I everybody knows I'm a firm believer and everything happens for a reason. And maybe Caleb needed this injury. One, so he could dress in a robe after a game and see someone else get a game FLINTTOWN: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: ball. That's one. Two, It will show him that this offense doesn't need him to do the crazy stuff that he can do. Just play on time. So, yes, Case Keatum had a couple passes that almost got picked. There were bad throws. He was throwing off his back foot. And he was throwing off his back foot. He doesn't have the arm talent or the arm power like the way Caleb does, right? So the ball's not going to get there as Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: quick. So Quinyon Mitchell almost intercepted the ball a couple times. And that's a that's a good corner. Or is he a safety? I don't know what he is, but he's an all-pro Aaron: No, he's an all pro corner. He's really good. DadBodSportsCards: corner. So he he He had a pretty good game against Case Keenum. But but Case Keenum was playing on time. Like he didn't get sacked at all. They did get him one time, but then it was a defensive holding, so that negates the sack. But he didn't get sacked one time in this game, which is huge for our offensive line, considering that we all think Philadelphia's defensive line is amazing with Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter and Gernard, who they have from Minnesota, who this was his first game back. So you have all those defensive linemen against our offensive line and they didn't get a sack. And what that tells me is, and like Case Keenum made a lot of throws off his back foot because he was buying that extra second and he was throwing the ball up because he knew where his wide receivers needed to be. So he was playing FLINTTOWN: That's it. DadBodSportsCards: within the system and he trusted his wide receivers. And the Bears in in general on offense and defense, they all leveled up their play this week. For whatever reason, maybe because they knew a third string quarterback, or maybe Ben Johnson, the coach's staff, got got on their asses this week. It's like, hey, you got punched in the mouth. We beat Philly last year on Black Friday. We beat them the fuck up. Philly controlled our running game. We didn't have a running game this game. So may and maybe Ben Johnson kind of knew, hey, they're gonna try to stop the run because we rushed like over 280 to 300 yards on them on Black Friday last week. We're gonna throw the ball more this time. And Keenum, but like I said, Keenum was on point. With his passes because he threw the ball where he knew his wide receivers needed to be, and FLINTTOWN: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: the wide receivers got there for him. a lot of great plays made by Keenan. I mean, that quarterback sneak that he had was awesome. That was an old school play. He did it with I saw highlights, he did it with golf as well, that same quarterback sneak where the ta or the the guards come out like Aaron: Yeah, I saw that too. DadBodSportsCards: that, and there was also Kurt Warner, like all these. It's it's it's an old school play. But my player, my player to watch is gonna be DeAndre Swift, because we to get the running game back. the Jets do have a good defense, but I'm gonna say that their defense is still average. I last year, like Aaron Glenn was their coach last year, and they didn't have an interception at all last year. They're playing better this year. I I would agree with that. FLINTTOWN: Yeah. We're playing way better. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, they're playing way better. I agree with that. But I think I hope we keep Keenan there. But the way he talked, I think it was earlier today, Ben Johnson, was he said that Bajant was the backup quarterback for a reason. Like leads me to think that we might switch to Bayent. I hope that's not the case. Like ride the hot hand. Maybe if Keenum gets off to a bad start, then put him Bayent. But I don't know. Stick, stick with, stick with the 38-year-old who's seen everything in the in football. And that crazy stat, his college numbers are better than his Aaron: yeah. DadBodSportsCards: NFL numbers. And he's been the NFL for 14 years. And then Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: he still holds the record for most passing yards and most touchdown passes. And in college football, which I f I thought was crazy too. I didn't like I knew he was good in college. I didn't know those those records were still FLINTTOWN: That is crazy. Aaron: I keep on seeing the highlight of him he had nine passing touchdowns in a game. Yes. DadBodSportsCards: Did he really? That's crazy. FLINTTOWN: Wow. DadBodSportsCards: That's crazy. But but he's a gunslinger. But I actually I'm not gonna say he's a gunslinger because he played within the system and he's he this this is the whole reason why he's here. He's like a pla he's like a coach player. Like that's why Aaron: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: he that's why we have three quarterbacks on the roster. It's cause he's he's a mentor and this was the perfect game for him. And I mean, I don't know what's wrong with Philly. Like Philly is a good team. I don't know what happened to them last night. Vic Fangio is a good defensive coordinator. Ben Johnson might just have his number. But like I said, Keenan played within the system and go back to the whole Caleb thing. Caleb might need might need to see that that it's okay to stay in the pocket and trust your wide receivers and trust your your playmakers that they'll be where they're supposed to be. The only one that you can't trust is fucking Roma Dunze because he can't catch what shit. What you got, Flynn? Aaron: Yeah. FLINTTOWN: I was gonna say too, the Eagles there is something I think underlined that isn't getting brought up. They haven't looked Aaron: Seriani. DadBodSportsCards: like I FLINTTOWN: good. DadBodSportsCards: I don't like their coach. I hate their fucking coach. Yeah, I Aaron: It's Syriani. I don't DadBodSportsCards: don't like him. But yeah, but he's a Super Bowl winning coach. So I'll I'll I'll give him you know yeah I think there's that FLINTTOWN: I know, but there's something. There's something. You can tell. DadBodSportsCards: there's that Jalen Hurts factor like with people don't like him because he's he's like Russell Wilson. You know people didn't like FLINTTOWN: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: Russell Wilson because Russell Wilson was too too perfect like saying the right things and everything. You know, Mr. Unlimited like you know that guy. Right. Yeah. But Jalen Hurts is kind of like the same mentality. He's like the positive mindset, positive posit, positivity. And I like Jalen Jalen Hurts ever since he was since when he was with Alabama. When he lost FLINTTOWN: Yep. DadBodSportsCards: his job to Tua and then eventually he went to Oklahoma, but he was a good teammate to Tua, you know, and everything. And they won a national championship, I believe. FLINTTOWN: He was. Yep. DadBodSportsCards: well, I know Tua came in for Hurts when Hurts and then Tua threw the game win and touchdown pass in that championship. But I don't know if the next season if they won it again or not, but they were close. but like I don't I don't know. The Eagles are a good team. I I'm not gonna lie, like I FLINTTOWN: They are. DadBodSportsCards: I picked the Bears last week, but I think last week I said I that was like a two percent confidence. I was not confident in Aaron: Yeah, yeah. DadBodSportsCards: in that pick. So and even through the live stream, I was waiting for something bad to happen because I'm like, This is too good to be true. What what's going on? Yeah. FLINTTOWN: And I called it and you guys are like, no, don't say that DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. Well, 'cause as a Bears fan, you're just waiting for something to happen and everything. Well, I know you guys do too, but FLINTTOWN: You don't think as a Lions fan? DadBodSportsCards: but yeah, so like DeAndre Swift, he's my player to watch. I Bears all day long. Like the Bears are fucking back. They learned their lesson from the Vikings, and maybe the Vikings are just better than what we thought because of that fucking defense will keep them in games and they only need one or two plays on offense, or their defense makes a big time play to get them a touchdown, and that might be enough for for the for the Vikings. but yeah, the Bears two and one right now. It's a very important week because of the games that are going on with Green Bay, Minnesota, and fucking the Lions and everything that we gotta get as many wins as we can with Caleb being injured. All right, next game. Next game was another tough game. We got Jacksonville Jaguars at Cincinnati Bengals. Who you got, Aaron? Aaron: I got Jacksonville. I don't like Cincinnati. I think their defense got exposed last week. Their their defense was great all year, and then they played the Steelers, and it did not look good at all. They had one interception, which was dropped off the hands of Roman Wilson. Who other than that had a good game. But anyways, let me get back onto this game. Jacksonville, they looked good in week one against the Browns. They look not so good against the Broncos and they look good against the Patriots. This is their game to win. They want to be a contender and maybe get past the wild card. They to show that they can beat a good team. I think Cincy is a good team. And they haven't beat a good team yet. DadBodSportsCards: yeah, yeah, 'cause they lost to Denver. Yeah. Aaron: Yeah, they lost to Denver. Since he beat the Bucks and then there was the Texans and then lost the Steelers. So you could argue they haven't beat a good team either, but I think the Texans are better than anything the Jacksonville has beat. But with that being said, this is Jacksonville's game to win. my player to watch is it gonna be Trevor Lawrence. For me, I hope he does kneel at the one yard line again, but he probably should not do that next time. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. Alright Flet, who you got? FLINTTOWN: I also have Jacksonville. I think Jacksonville They're good. Like if they're on their game, they're good. I think Cincinnati, yeah, they're good, but they're so inconsistent. Like, if you think about it, Cincinnati should've beat Pittsburgh. I'm just saying, like if you look at who Cincinnati has on their offense, they should have put up way more points than Pittsburgh. DadBodSportsCards: But they still put up a lot of points. What what was what was Aaron: Yeah. Twenty seven to thirty, yeah. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, I mean it Aaron Rodgers had the game of his life. Like Roman Wilson, who I called Calvin Austin last week, scored a scored a touchdown. Aaron: Yeah. FLINTTOWN: I know. I know. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. FLINTTOWN: But you have Jamar Chase and Joe Burrow and T. Higgins Aaron: Well FLINTTOWN: and Joe Mixon and like think about it. Like Joe Mixon. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. Or not not Joe Mixon. Not Joe Joe Joe Mixon's long gone. We got Chase Brown now. Fuck it, Zach Boss Zach Moss again. This is Zach Moss two point with Joe Mixon. Aaron: No not Joe makes it. Joe makes a shatter kid and he's gone now. FLINTTOWN: It is Zach Moss 2.0. Joe Mixon, guys. Watch him on your fantasy football. no, but like if you look at that since he offense, it should be rocking and rolling. But it's not. Like, they should be putting up more points than that. If your defense ain't that great, you should be putting up more points to beat the team. But Jacksonville has I think all around offensive and defensive good team. So give me Jacksonville and BTJ 'cause I need his cards to soar. DadBodSportsCards: Right. All right. So again I'm going opposite from you guys. I'm picking the Cincinnati Bengals. It's FLINTTOWN: Wow. DadBodSportsCards: a home game for Cincy. So FLINTTOWN: It was a home game yesterday or last week, wasn't it? it was right, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Aaron: No, it was in Pittsburgh. DadBodSportsCards: No, they were they're in Pittsburgh. They're in Pittsburgh. Yeah, they're in Pit Pittsburgh. Which could also give Pittsburgh that boost that Aaron Rodgers needed and everything. But I look at Jacksonville and Cincinnati. I look at them, they're the same exact team. Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: And the only difference is I think there's more playmakers on Cincinnati and it's a home game for Cincinnati. Now Jacksonville lost on the road to Denver. Wait, there's a lot we could say Mile High Stadium could have been the reason. you know, I mean that's That's always gonna be a thing when you think about Denver and the Mile High Stadium. Like the like the Rams lost to them last week. you can blame it on on that as well. but I think Jacksonville and Cincinnati, I think they're both good teams. I think both their defenses are about the same. Like I don't think one's worse than the other. I think they're about the same. they have I think their quarterbacks are pretty much even. Joe Burrow and Trevor Lawrence, I think they're both playing pretty well this season. And Trevor Lawrence is carrying it over from last season as well. Burroughs, you know, was hurt last year. But I don't think Burrow is playing bad. He had that fumble at the end. But like, I mean, that that's because, you know, it needed a clutch moment. Normally Burroughs clutch, but just the dev the Steelers defense got a little more pressure on him and he lost that ball. so how I break this game down is because I see them as equal. I'm now I'm gonna go to who has more playmakers. Tootin, Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: Tutan is not doing anything on that. As in the running Aaron: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: game right now. I don't, they gotta get Jacksonville's gotta get the running game going. FLINTTOWN: They do. DadBodSportsCards: Chase Brown is also not having a good start to the season either. So both these running games, whoever whoever wins the rushing battle in this game is probably gonna win this game, like to be honest. but I'm gonna go with because Cincinnati has Jamar Chase and T. Higgins and Jacksonville, they just have what's his name? Parker Washington. That's all they have. They don't have anybody else on offense. FLINTTOWN: BTJ. DadBodSportsCards: BTJ's BTJ's not doing it. He's not doing anything. Aaron: No, he's not good. He's not that good. DadBodSportsCards: And Jacoby Meyer's not doing anything. Tooton's not doing anything. Like their their big time playmaker is Trevor Lawrence getting it to Parker Washington. And I'm gonna go with that Cincinnati's gonna have enough firepower on the offense. Like I think it's gonna be a close game. It could be thirty it Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: could be 34 31 because both have good offenses, both have decent defenses. Just give me the playmaker. Chase will make a play at the end of the game to get them a game win and field goal. So I'm gonna go Cincy. My player to watch is gonna be Chase Brown because they gotta get that running. Actually both. It's gonna be Tootin Chase Brown. Whoever has more rushing yards for their team in this game, I think is gonna be the winner of this game. Because they one of these teams has to get the rushing attack going. All right, next. FLINTTOWN: Chase Brown, A.K., Joe Mixon. Aaron: Yeah. And I will say, Bang's DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, yeah, j yeah, right. Yep. Yeah. Aaron: O-line's really good. They looked amazing. It was also because Joe Burrow, he was getting the ball the quickest in his career. But their their offensive they shut down TJ Watt. They shut down Hervey. They shut down everyone. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, and then and and that's the key for quarterbacks. Like Case Keenum did it last night to go back to the Bears. He got the ball out in 2.2 seconds. Like Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: you're not and he didn't get sacked last night. You get the ball out quick, like what Burrow's been doing lately. Aaron: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: You know, it it helps negate a good pass rush, like what Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: the Steelers had and everything. All right. Next game. Next game was another close game for me. Aaron: Little, yeah. DadBodSportsCards: Is the Arizona Cardinals at New York Giants, who the Giants just traded for the nine, who's gonna be wearing the number 18. FLINTTOWN: Nein DadBodSportsCards: And everything. So Aaron, who do you got in this game? Aaron: I got Arizona. I like Arizona's offense more than I like Giants offense. And my notes are nine better not win this fucking game. Because if he plays as quarterback FLINTTOWN: Ha ha ha ha. Aaron: and he wins this game, I'm gonna lose my mind. DadBodSportsCards: But okay, like but let's be realistic. He's not starting the game. He's not playing Aaron: Not he's not. DadBodSportsCards: because he just got traded. He's gotta learn the system. We all know how this works. It's gonna take three to FLINTTOWN: Well they're still very. DadBodSportsCards: four weeks for him to understand the system, if not more, while learning from James. I don't even know who the backup to Jameis Winston is before JJ. I don't even know who I know, but before him, like who but who was the backup before they traded for? What you have to have one. Yeah, like I don't know who it is though. I have no idea who it is. But but yeah. Go ahead, Aaron. FLINTTOWN: JJ. It's J J. I don't think they had one. Er yeah, I it I don't either. Aaron: Yeah, yeah. Yeah. But y yeah, I like I guess like I like Arizona's offense. Michael Wilson finally had a good game. I think he had like eleven catches I don't know. He had ninety yards and a touchdown. So he finally had a good game. McBride wasn't that good. Jeremiah Love had a great game. And I don't like either defense that much, but Arizona has just has more firepower. than the Giants do. So I'm gonna pick Arizona. My player to watch is gonna be Michael Wilson. He needs to repeat what he did last week. Me for fantasy and also he just got that extension. He needs to prove why he got that extension. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. All right, Florent, who you got? FLINTTOWN: I can't believe I'm saying this, but Arizona. I have Arizona. Dart being out. That takes a huge hit. Like to a team. And I just like I love Jameis as a person, but I just I think he's not gonna get it done. So that's why I'm going with Arizona. And let's keep an eye out on Jameis. DadBodSportsCards: Yep. FLINTTOWN: Player to watch. DadBodSportsCards: I'm I'm right there with you guys. Arizona, I think, is gonna win their offense, like what they showed against the 49ers coming back. that they could put up points. And I think they'll put up points against this Giants defense. Jameis Winston, again, like just like you, Flint, love him. I think he's an awesome dude. I j I w I will root for him. I will root FLINTTOWN: Yep. DadBodSportsCards: for him, even though when he's tackling his own fucking running back after handing it off to him. Cause I just love that dude so much. Like Jameis Winston is always gonna be good in my book. Yeah. FLINTTOWN: Crab legs. DadBodSportsCards: Like he's always gonna he's always gonna be FLINTTOWN: I love the crab legs. DadBodSportsCards: good in my book. But I I'm gonna go with Arizona. My player to watch is gonna be Michael Wilson because Aaron has Michael Wilson on his bench on one of our fantasy teams. Aaron: N not anymore. DadBodSportsCards: There you go. And also just for the record, Aaron benched George Pickens for Don Tavian Wicks. Yeah, just FLINTTOWN: I can't believe you, Aaron. DadBodSportsCards: like what are you doing? Aaron: I still won. DadBodSportsCards: What are you doing? The two rules of fantasy football always start your studs and don't chase points. Like FLINTTOWN: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: And then I then I saw that you have Michael Wilson on your bench too in another I I it could be the same league. But that's my player Aaron: It is DadBodSportsCards: to watch Michael Wilson. He's their number one, but he's their number one wide receiver, but even Aaron: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: though the number one receiver on that team is Trey McBride. McBride's gonna have a huge game again and Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: against this Giants team. And I don't like I don't see the Giants doing anything. The only thing going in their favor, it's a home game for the Giants. And maybe, you know, there could be that travel thing with Arizona going to the East Coast, but I don't know. I think FLINTTOWN: Sure. DadBodSportsCards: I think Arizona has enough offense and Jeremia Love started getting kicked, kicked up last ramped up last game and he had a he had a pretty good game too. All right. Next game we got the Los Angeles Rams at FLINTTOWN: Okay. DadBodSportsCards: Philadelphia Eagles. Who you got, Aaron? Aaron: This is a tough one for me because Rams, they choked that game away, and Philly just looked abysmal. I'm gonna pick the Rams just because they're the team that should win. They are I don't know the word to say it. They're like the more functional team. They have a better coach, they have a better just team all around. So I'm gonna pick the Rams. I'm not confident in that pick, but I'm not confident if I picked Philly either. Do do they get Puka back? I'm pretty sure they do get Puka back this week. DadBodSportsCards: Maybe, FLINTTOWN: Think they do. DadBodSportsCards: I'm not sure, but maybe, yeah. FLINTTOWN: I think they do. Aaron: If they do get him back, that's a huge plus. Devante's DadBodSportsCards: Mm. Aaron: still great, but they they do need Puka back. my player to watch is gonna be just Matthew Stafford. He threw two picks, one being a pick six. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. All right, Flint, who you got? FLINTTOWN: I also got the Rams. Philly I just I think there's something up with Philly. So I'm gonna go with the Rams and my player to watch is Hurts. Hurts is my player to watch. Cause DadBodSportsCards: Yeah I FLINTTOWN: it's gonna rely on him. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, it it has to. so I'm I'm right there with you guys. I think the Rams are the better team than Philly. especially if they get Puka back. I think they're FLINTTOWN: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: extremely better than Philly. Philly's gotta get Saquon Aaron: Yeah. FLINTTOWN: Yep. DadBodSportsCards: going. They had Saquon going against the Bears. Like the the offensive line had huge holes for him. He was running great. I don't Aaron: Yes. DadBodSportsCards: know why they got away from that, because that would have hurt my Bears team. I don't know if it's because we got a little bit of a lead and they felt like they just needed to pass and get away from the running game. I don't know. I don't know what what that's about, but I'm I'm gonna go with the Rams. My player to watch is gonna be Saquon. They gotta get Saquon going. If they can get Saquon going, I think the game will be closer, but I still think the Rams FLINTTOWN: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: pull it off. All right, next game we got the Green Bay Packers at Tampa Bay Bucks with Baker Mayfield out for like three at least three weeks, with his thumb injury. they found out that there was no tendon or or anything like that, but just three weeks. so FLINTTOWN: So DadBodSportsCards: Aaron, who do you got? The Green Bay Packers or Tampa Bay Bucks? Aaron: I got Green Bay. I don't like Green Bay, obviously, but Tampa Bay has just looked horrible this whole year. Their offense has not looked good, their defense has not looked good. I don't know if Jalen Daniels can step up and be better than Baker. I know he showed that he was I mean, he looks fine in the preseason, but we don't know how he's gonna play, so that's why I'm not gonna pick Tampa Bay. Green Bay, they have to get the ball out quick. That O-line is awful. That O line is terrible. They need to do what the Bengals did and just get the ball out as fast as he can. my player to watch is gonna be Jordan Love. He he can put up all the great numbers, but if he's under pressure, he's gonna make mistakes, and he needs to eliminate those mistakes. Now I think he could probably make a couple and they still win the game just because Tampe is not good at all. But FLINTTOWN: Yeah, yeah. Aaron: he needs to try to be mistake free. DadBodSportsCards: All Flint, who you FLINTTOWN: Yeah, it's not to be honest, like when I looked at this game and okay well Tampa Bay has been so bad all year long. Like I automatically went to Green Bay, even with DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. FLINTTOWN: Green Bay being bad. Like Jordan Aaron: Yeah. FLINTTOWN: Love, I do not trust at all. But how Tampa Bay has been playing, and I don't even care if Baker was in. Like I know he's out, but even if Baker's in, I can't even pick Tampa. Just cause it doesn't look on paper they look so good. But they haven't produced at all. So I'm taking Green Bay and you watch. If Tampa Bay loses this game, there's gonna be rumblings about the coach being fired here soon. Aaron: Yeah. My coworker is a Bucks fan and since week two he's been saying, get this guy gone DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, it's it's it's Todd it's Todd Bowles, right? Yeah, the the co the coach. I Aaron: Yeah. FLINTTOWN: Yeah. Yep. DadBodSportsCards: I I like I like him as a coach. he's a good FLINTTOWN: I do too. DadBodSportsCards: he's a good defensive mind. so like I I'm I'm in agreement with you guys is not because I wanna pick this team. It's just because I think I think FLINTTOWN: Exactly. DadBodSportsCards: they're just not as bad as Tampa. Like Aaron: Yeah. FLINTTOWN: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: if Baker was playing this game, I would one hundred percent pick Tampa because I think Baker would be able to slice and dice this defen Green Bay's Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: defense. But Because Baker's not playing, and I don't know anything about Jalen Daniels. Is he from Kansas City or Kansas? Kansas Jayhawk, right? Because I think I Aaron: Yeah, Kansas. He's from Kansas. Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: had one of his college football cards. And I think that's one reason why know that name. he's undrafted. He no, he's on he's undrafted. FLINTTOWN: He was drafted this year or Aaron: He is unjudted. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, undrafted. Never got drafted. So he has a chance. I mean, I I I mean, you know, you always get a backup, but like you don't think the backup's gonna play because you know, Aaron: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: Baker got a new contract this year. You don't think of an injury like that. But I'm gonna go Green Bay because I think Green Bay has enough offense to win this game. Because when when love is clicking, he has Goldens showing pretty well this year. As much as I hate to say it, Golden's playing well this year. Christian Aaron: Mm-hmm. FLINTTOWN: Yeah. Watson. DadBodSportsCards: Watson is there. that's I mean, that's about it on offense. They have no run game. They have no run Aaron: Yeah. FLINTTOWN: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: game. And this could go like, I'm still picking Green Bay, but I think Tampa can keep this game close because they play Tampa too. They're kind of like a Lovey Smith game. kind of defense because Todd Bowles has that mindset playing the Tampa 2. And it's it's like cover two, but there's like a few different things in Tampa 2 Aaron: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: from different from cover two. Since they know Green Bay has to pass to win the game, because Green Bay is not running the ball, I think they only got 17 yards rushing last week, which is awful. Yeah. It's very it's awful, Aaron: It was it was something like that. It was bad. DadBodSportsCards: right? So if they can make Green Bay one dimensional FLINTTOWN: Okay. DadBodSportsCards: and play Tampa two, which means keep everything in front of you that no big plays are going to happen. And who knows, maybe Jalen Daniels could look like Jaden Daniels rookie year. Who knows? I will still pick Green Bay. Yeah. I will still pick Green FLINTTOWN: J D five. DadBodSportsCards: Bay just because it's a pick'em, but I'm rooting for fucking Tampa to beat the shit out of them and because Green Bay is Green FLINTTOWN: Me too. Me too. Aaron: Yes. DadBodSportsCards: Bay is is spiraling out of control. And, you Aaron: They are. DadBodSportsCards: know, yeah. What you got, Flint? FLINTTOWN: I I have something to add. Green Bay does have a run game or a run back, but Ray Rice is sitting at home. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. FLINTTOWN: So get my joke. I know. Josh Jacobs DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, we we don't even know if he's ever gonna be coming back. Yeah. We don't even know if he's ever coming back, you know, until they release that video, which they will eventually FLINTTOWN: is the new Ray Rice, people. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. Possibly. Or or if it's or he could be the new Kareem Hunt too, the guy that got put brought back into the league after kicking a woman's face like for Aaron: Yeah. FLINTTOWN: Yeah. Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: a field goal and everything. All right. So next game we got the Tennessee Titans at Baltimore FLINTTOWN: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: Ravens. I think we all know where we're all gonna go with this one, but go ahead, Aaron. Aaron: Got Baltimore. I don't know if I showed it to you, a solid Titans fan, say this team couldn't beat its own dick. They are bad. They are terrible. DadBodSportsCards: Okay. I hope AI picks up on that one so I don't have to manually cut it out. FLINTTOWN: I hope so too. Aaron: I think his name's like Music City Nick, so that's where it's from. that that team is awful. Cam Ward. I saw him do the nonchalant thing. and three. Like he's gonna get benched soon or they're gonna he's there's gotta FLINTTOWN: No, yeah. Aaron: be a change and he's not playing good and the change might start with him. So DadBodSportsCards: Camboard is a bus. Who's her backup? It's not it's not Will Levis. Aaron: No, it's not. I don't even know. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, I don't even know who the backup is either. it's I think it's Trubisky. I it's Trubisky. Get get fucking Trubisky back in there. Aaron: yeah, please. Get your biscuit. Yeah, I got Baltimore. Lamar FLINTTOWN: Yeah. Aaron: I don't know the word. He was clutched last week in the last play of the game, unlike week two against the Saints where threw the bad pick. He redeemed himself. B terrible defense, yes. DadBodSportsCards: It's also bad also bad defense by the Cowboys. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Aaron: And also the thirty five yard touchback rule is most stupid. But watching where they're just the better team all around. my player to watch is gonna be Derek Henry. He's probably just gonna run all over his former team. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. Flint, who you got? FLINTTOWN: So I don't believe Cam Ward's a bust. I just DadBodSportsCards: First. FLINTTOWN: no, he's not a bust. I that team is not good at all. And there's not enough pieces around him to make like to make his job easier, I would say. Aaron: I mean he's got Wandale, he's got Carnotate, he's got DadBodSportsCards: Pollard. FLINTTOWN: Cardell tape. Aaron: Pollard. DadBodSportsCards: Carnot Tate. Okay. Their defen their defense FLINTTOWN: It's not bad. Er not good. DadBodSportsCards: is okay. Aaron: Yeah. FLINTTOWN: Okay. But think about it. Yeah, their defense is over. So who's Aaron: They got AO minor. DadBodSportsCards: Can can Right, but Cam Board went number one, right? Aaron: Yeah, Kmore went number one. FLINTTOWN: Yeah. Okay. Who is their coach? Aaron: Day Ball. And Salah. Yeah. Well, I think he's offensive coordinator. Salah. Sala's the head coach. DadBodSportsCards: yeah. Offensive minor coach. No, Salah. Salah. Salah. Robert Salah. FLINTTOWN: Sala. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. FLINTTOWN: Sala's the head coach and he's defensive coach. He's defensive minded. That's why I think this offense doesn't show because if you look at Salah when he was at the Jets, that Jets that Jets offense was Aaron: They were terrible, yeah. FLINTTOWN: ass. So if you look DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, but they also had a shitty coordinator there. Aaron: They have Dave R as a coordinator in Tennessee. DadBodSportsCards: Right n Dayball's a good coordinator. FLINTTOWN: Well, they gotta change Aaron: He's competent. FLINTTOWN: something. Aaron: And it starts the camera. DadBodSportsCards: Quarterback. Yes. FLINTTOWN: No, Cam Cor Cam Ward is not a bus, I'm telling guys. DadBodSportsCards: He he is a bust. FLINTTOWN: So Will Levis was a bus. Willis hold on hold on hold on. Will DadBodSportsCards: Will Levis is a bust. Yeah. Aaron: Yeah, definitely. FLINTTOWN: Levis who was who's the Malik Willis DadBodSportsCards: Malik Willis. Malik Willis. Bust. Bust. Aaron: Malik Wills He's on the Dolphins, yeah. FLINTTOWN: and then Cam Ward? All bus. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. Yeah. FLINTTOWN: That one team drafted? Aaron: Don't don't don't don't say that when the Browns exist. my god, they had twenty five quarterbacks in twenty years and they were all busts. So don't start with this, it has to be the team. It can be FLINTTOWN: hey hold up hold up. The Browns had Baker Mayfield and he wasn't a bust. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, but that was like their twenty sixth quarterback Aaron: Okay. Yeah, DadBodSportsCards: that they drafted. Yeah, yeah. Aaron: that was like the s you can go one for twenty five. FLINTTOWN: I think it's organization. That's my opinion. DadBodSportsCards: I mean it it it could be, but Cam Aaron: It could be. DadBodSportsCards: like Cam Ward's not showing anything. You're number one pick for a reason. And we all know in that draft there was really no number one pick. You had to pick Cam Ward. You have to. FLINTTOWN: I know. I know. Yes. Aaron: Yeah. Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: Just like this year, there was no really true number one pick, and you have to pick Mendoza. Mendoza's gonna be a bust. Mendoza's not gonna be good either. And he hasn't even stepped a foot on the field yet. He's not gonna be good. He's not. He's another Kirk Cousins. And even though I love Kirk Cousins, right, but FLINTTOWN: I mean Kirk Kirk has a good year or a good DadBodSportsCards: But also this is like this is also like Kirk's fifth team, you know? Like the league's FLINTTOWN: Yeah, I know. Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: the League's gonna treat him that way. Like Mendoza, I'm gonna root for him because I think he's because I I like that FLINTTOWN: A good guy. DadBodSportsCards: he's learning from Kirk Cousins and everything, because they're both they're both dorky and I love it. Yeah. But Cam FLINTTOWN: Yeah. Turko change. DadBodSportsCards: Ward is, I mean, he's a but he ain't it, man. Like you're number one pick, you gotta show why you're the number one pick. Baker was a FLINTTOWN: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: number one pick, right? Or number two. Baker was number Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: one. He showed you why he was a FLINTTOWN: I think he DadBodSportsCards: at least a top three pick. I I 'cause Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: I I don't FLINTTOWN: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: I can't remember Baker went number two if they Aaron: I think I think they got number one picks back to back year, so I think that's what it was. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. So I FLINTTOWN: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: don't know. Like I'll let I'll let you finish, but Cam Ward, I'm I can't agree with you. I think he's a bust. Sell that zebra now. Aaron: okay. FLINTTOWN: Well, I just have a downtown too. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, yeah. FLINTTOWN: I'm picking Baltimore though. After all that. DadBodSportsCards: After all that, yeah. Aaron: After all that. FLINTTOWN: But Cam Ward is my player to watch. Cause he does. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. I'm picked FLINTTOWN: You're absolutely right, he does have to step it up. He does. But DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. Show why you're the number one pick. FLINTTOWN: it you gotta there's gotta be g guys around him. To like there's no one really around him. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, but who d who did Drake May have last year? Drake May didn't have anybody around him last Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: year. FLINTTOWN: No. Aaron: And he has Juandale, Wandale. He had a da he had a thousand okay, he did have a thousand yards. He thought it's true number one, yes, but they have Tate and Wandale. DadBodSportsCards: I mean, okay. He he he did, but he's not a true number one. Yeah. And and Tate's a ru and Tate's a rookie. But but FLINTTOWN: Tate Tate is a rookie. Exactly. Aaron: Yeah, tastes rookie, so I'll give him a little bit of grace, yes. DadBodSportsCards: But I but I agree with you. Like they have those players. They're not showing fucking anything. Like they Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: just scored seven points FLINTTOWN: Exactly. DadBodSportsCards: against the Giants. You have the Giants quarterback tackling their own running back. And you know, like you only scored seven points against a team like that. And like, yes, they came close against FLINTTOWN: Okay. Aaron: Really? DadBodSportsCards: the Eagles, and maybe, but like Cam Ward didn't have a really good game that game. And maybe, maybe we're finding out now that after the Eagles losing to a third string quarterback, that maybe they're not that good. You know, Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: and that's why the Titans were that close. I don't know. FLINTTOWN: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: I I'm with there with you guys, Baltimore. My player to watch is Cam Ward too because I think he's a bust. So let's see this bust finally like he's gonna continue to suck. He's not gonna throw for 200 yards. I I wanna look it up. I'll look it up from next week. When was the last time he threw for over 200 yards in a game? It it's looking like old school Bears offense, is what it's looking like. Like Aaron: Whew. FLINTTOWN: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: like before Trubisky. I don't even know who our fucking quarterback I gotta think right now who our quarterback was. Aaron: Brian no, not Brian Hoyer. Was it Hoyer? Was Hoyer there? DadBodSportsCards: I don't know, it was Hoyer. We have had Hoyer, we had Nick Foles, we had I don't know. We had a ton of shitty quarterbacks. All right, next game. We spent way too much time in the Baltimore one. Next game is the Battle Aaron: Yeah. FLINTTOWN: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: of Texas. We got the Dallas Cowboys at Houston Texans. Who you got, Aaron? Okay. Aaron: I got Dallas. Might be a bit surprised, but I got Dallas. They were so close to even getting a chance to winning. That whole fiasco on their last offensive drive, that was ugly. That was terrible. DadBodSportsCards: This is back coaching, yeah. Aaron: Yeah, terrible coaching. And like Schonheimer, is that however you say his last name, the coach. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. Aaron: He was like, We tell Dak to throw it away in that situation and George Pickers was wide open. So I feel like that's a coaching issue. That can be changed. Houston has shown nothing on offense these first three weeks. At least Dallas has the offensive superstars to score points. And they don't have they don't have a good defense, but I think their offense is just too much for Houston's offense to be able to play keep up. DadBodSportsCards: Nico Collins could be coming back too, by the way. Yeah. Aaron: He could be c coming back, yes. But my notes here are two things about the Texans. One, they are 0-7 since ripping up the terrible towel, which is a terrible towel curse. If you rip it up. It happened to the Jags a couple years ago. Happen, I think another team. And that happened to Texas. They ripped it up, and they're 0 7 if you include pre seasons since. Next, Davis Mills time. Time to bring him in. CJ DadBodSportsCards: Here we go. Aaron: Stroud. Almost I saw like on that last drive, like he almost ran the clock out with some stupid stuff. Like he's not it. So it's Davis Mills time. Even though he's not gonna play. But we can only hope. But yeah, I'm picking Dallas. My player watches George Pickens. He's gotta step it up. Like he played good last week, but FLINTTOWN: Mm. Aaron: first two weeks he wasn't that good, and third week he was decent. DadBodSportsCards: He's got the Pittsburgh Steelers problem. Too many drops. Like he it hits him in the hands. He's like another DK. Aaron: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. FLINTTOWN: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: Another DK. Aaron: But he's he was a second team All Pro last year and DadBodSportsCards: It was. Aaron: he's and he's got the talent, so I just gotta see him step up. DadBodSportsCards: Yep. All right, Flint, who you got? Dallas or Houston? FLINTTOWN: Can I can I say one thing though from the previous game? DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. Aaron: Okay. FLINTTOWN: Cause you're gonna get you guys are gonna love this. Alright, so I just looked up his stats for this year, right? Cam Ward yards 504. That's the 26th in the league, alright? Two touchdowns is twenty-seventh tied. One interception. DadBodSportsCards: That's passing touchdowns, right? 'Cause I know he has a couple rushing, yeah. FLINTTOWN: Yes. Aaron: Yeah, he got two FLINTTOWN: Yeah. Aaron: against the Eagles. DadBodSportsCards: Eagles, FLINTTOWN: Alright, so this is the worst part. What do you think the QBR is? DadBodSportsCards: It's twenty nine point three. Twenty nine point three. FLINTTOWN: Forty seven point two or twenty third DadBodSportsCards: Bust. FLINTTOWN: overall. DadBodSportsCards: God, that's twenty third? There's nine worst quarters. Aaron: I'm pretty sure Jake Drake Mays but low I think Jordan loves lower. DadBodSportsCards: I mean yeah. FLINTTOWN: That is horrible stats though. DadBodSportsCards: That is horrible. That is horrible. Aaron: Love's in that area. FLINTTOWN: Now, hey, like I said, give it time, but that is horrible stats. Aaron: It is. FLINTTOWN: Alright, so with the Texans and Cowboys, DadBodSportsCards: Cowboys. Yep. Aaron: Cowboys. FLINTTOWN: I'm going with Texans. You guys said Nico Collins might be back in. DadBodSportsCards: Yep, yeah, he should he might he should be back. FLINTTOWN: That'll be a spark with that team. And it's gonna be at home for both of really, 'cause DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. FLINTTOWN: they're both in Texas. But I think Dallas Dallas is kind of a dumpster fire this year too, so give me Texans and CJ Stroud is my player to watch. DadBodSportsCards: All right, this game was a toss up for me because I I kind of do respect the Houston Texans because I like their defense, but Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: their defense hasn't been really doing a whole lot this year. And I know Dallas doesn't have a good defense. I think they're I think they're average. They have a they have a couple, like I like the Caleb Downs as their safety. Like he's only gonna get better, him being a rookie. But I'm gonna go I I think Dallas has enough offense. Like they got CeeDee Lamb, who's having a pretty good season. Aaron: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: George Pickens, he's a good number two. He's like a one B. Like he got one A and one B there at wide receiver. Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: he just has to step it up. Their tight end is good too. Jake Ferguson is good. Like he opens up the middle of that field. So I think they have too much. Like, I like Dak. I think Dak is definitely a top 10 quarterback. Maybe even like maybe even a top five if you look at statistically. Like he he yeah, he Aaron: He can be. He de yeah he definitely can be. DadBodSportsCards: yeah, he can be. that that loss last week against Baltimore was a tough one. It was just bad coaching. I'm not putting that on Dak. Like that that's just bad coaching. They should have scored from the one. When they had four chances at it. And then they definitely should have kicked the ball off and have them return it to get some of that seven seconds off rather than just getting a touchback, giving them good field position. but give me, give me the Cowboys. Houston doesn't have a run game, so I think there's gonna be more offense for the Cowboys and they could probably exploit that defense a little bit. Dak can get the ball out quick to to negate that pass rush. So give me the Cowboys. All right. Next up probably should be a no brainer as well. We the Miami Dolphins at Minnesota Vikings. Who you got, Aaron? Aaron: Got Minnesota. is Justin Jefferson playing? Like I don't know what his t ordeal is. DadBodSportsCards: We don't know. Aaron: Okay. even even if it's not playing, Jordan Addison looked really good. So I got Minnesota. And yeah, my player to watch is gonna be Jordan Addison. He played well with the absence of Justin Jefferson and he usually does. So if Justin Jefferson's not playing, Jordan Addison's gonna have a good game. DadBodSportsCards: I know who you got, Flint. FLINTTOWN: I also got the Vikings. A chain is out for the year. That kills the Dolphins even more. Malik Willis is my player to watch. DadBodSportsCards: Okay. So this will be easy. I I'm picking Minnesota. Flint, you pick Minnesota, right? FLINTTOWN: Yes, yeah. DadBodSportsCards: Okay, I'm sorry I just gotta write that down. I pick Minnesota. My player to watch is gonna be Minnesota's defense. Because I think Minnesota's defense is gonna score more touchdowns than Minnesota's offense, and that's all they need. Like it could just Aaron: Hm. Good for me. DadBodSportsCards: be one touch it could just be one touchdown. It could just be one touchdown. Because Minnesota's offense FLINTTOWN: I agree. I agree with you. I agree with ya. Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: does not look good, but you know, Miami's just awful. So FLINTTOWN: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: Quick and simple, Minnesota defense and Minnesota. All right, next game. Next game is like it should have been a no FLINTTOWN: Hehehe. DadBodSportsCards: brainer, but who the fuck knows? 'Cause yeah, Aaron: Surprisingly a toss up. DadBodSportsCards: yeah, it surprisingly is a toss up. Like who the fuck knows if anything can happen in football? We got Kansas City Chiefs at the Las Vegas Raiders. Who you got, Aaron? Aaron: I got KC. I'm not confident in this pick. Mahomes, I think he still doesn't have a pass that's over ten air yards. I mean passing touchdown. But they just find a way to win every single game. No matter what it is, they find a way to win. And that's why I'm gonna pick them this week. Vegas, I don't know what it is and why they're three and but I just don't trust them against Kansas City. So I'm gonna pick Kansas City. My player to watch is gonna be Mahomes. If they wanna win this game, it's gonna be off of him. They can't rely on Kenneth Walker. They're gonna have to rely on Mahomes to do really good. Well not me really good, but just be Mahomes in order to win this game. DadBodSportsCards: All Flint, who you FLINTTOWN: I also have Kansas City. I think the Raiders have been playing good, but I just I can't trust it all the way. And Kansas City has more of a complete team. Raiders, I think, with Max Crosby, I think like their defense is pretty good, but I just don't see them this is a rivalry game too. Aaron: Mm-hmm. FLINTTOWN: So they hate each other. So anything can happen in a rivalry game. I just don't see it though with the Raiders. They're three and who would have thought, right? But DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. FLINTTOWN: give me Kansas City Chiefs and Patty Mahomes. DadBodSportsCards: Yep, I'm picking Kansas City. My player to watch is gonna be Taylor Swift every time they put the camera on her. so pretty much I pr pretty I love it. But FLINTTOWN: I hate that. DadBodSportsCards: and and pretty much is the tail the player to watch is gonna be Travis Kelsey. Travis Kelsey's playing pretty well this year. He's had at least one or two big plays in a each of these games. FLINTTOWN: Yes. DadBodSportsCards: Mahomes looks, you know, decent. He's like he's being a game manager, but they're relying a lot on Kenneth Walker, who I think between him and JSN could be the fantasy football MVP so far. Through these first four games. Like, well, first three games, but counting this week as well. Kenneth Walker is playing. He like he's help he's the reason why Kansas City's winning right now is Kenneth Walker. Aaron: Yes. DadBodSportsCards: And then you have a quarterback, Mahomes, who's not going to make mistakes. So that helps out a lot. You got a good running game, you got a solid defense, and you got a quarterback that's not going to make mistakes. FLINTTOWN: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: That's that's a winning formula. On the opposite side of that, Las Vegas Raiders, you got the same thing there. Genty's playing pretty well this year. Then you got Mike Washington, who scored a touchdown last week, I believe. you got Bowers back who had like, I don't know, like a hundred catches last game. Like Bowers was awesome. They don't have a true number one wide receiver. That's gonna be the Raiders downfall right now. But their defense is pretty well, especially where they can get the other team to pass the ball, because you got Max Crosby and you guys a couple other guys in that line that can get to the quarterback and everything. FLINTTOWN: Trey Tucker is their wide Aaron: Yeah, yeah. FLINTTOWN: receiver one. Yeah, he's not a true DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, Tucker's number one, but he's not he's not like a true number one. Yeah. FLINTTOWN: number. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, yeah. He's like, he's like like Wandale Robinson. Like he is, FLINTTOWN: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: by definition, maybe their number one, but that's not what you think about a number one right receiver. But at you know, at the same time, like Kirk Cousins, he knows how to spread the ball around. And then now that it like Michael Meyer or Mayer, Michael Mayer. Mayer, Aaron: Maybe mayor, mayor. DadBodSportsCards: yeah, not not the Halloween. We're getting the Halloween season. Michael Mayer and Brock Bowers, I mean. Halloween, Michael Meyer, that's scary up the middle with those two tight ends. Like they, they, Aaron: It is. They're both good. DadBodSportsCards: they're yeah, they're both good. Like, I believe Mayer went to Notre Dame, and I think he was a second round pick, maybe a first round pick. I don't know. But you also got Brock Bauer. So Cousins has weapons and he's smart to use his tight ends. and then if you watch last week's game between the Raiders and and Saints, that's all they used was their tight ends for touchdowns. Like Olave had a big game for the Saints, but Fant and Juwan Johnson had all their touchdowns. And then and then on the opposite end, the Raiders had Mayer and Bowers with all the touchdowns for the most part in that game. So it was like national tight end week last week. But Kansas City, I agree with you. Player to watch is gonna be Taylor Swift. Next game. FLINTTOWN: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: Next game, I think we I think I know where we're all gonna go, but I think it's gonna be a better game than most might think. It's got the Denver Broncos at San Francisco 49ers. Who you got, Aaron? Aaron: Gonna pick San Fran. They might be the best team right now. Just overall, they have a great defense and a great offense. obviously they need to stay healthy, that's their biggest flaw. But they are one of the best teams right now, and I do not have any faith in Denver. Like, I don't know how they keep on winning games, but I j I just don't have faith in Bonex. So I'm gonna pick San Francisco. My player to watch just say Brock Purdy. I mean he's playing really well this season to start it off. DadBodSportsCards: Yep, who you got, Flint? FLINTTOWN: I also got forty niners. Denver, I don't know, they're too wishy-washy for me. And Bone Mix, like he's hot and then he's not. You know what I mean? So gimme DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. FLINTTOWN: San Francisco, Brock Purdy is a beast. He is probably one of the I would say top ten QBs in the league. McCaffrey is my player to watch. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. I'm trying to trade CMC in some of my leagues because he's not having a good season. He's not good. FLINTTOWN: Well, still early. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, it it is still early. So I I'm in agreement with you guys and I don't like it. I'm picking San Francisco. I don't think San Francisco is as good as everybody thinks they are. They played the Cardinals and they played the Dolphins and they played the Rams, which the Rams like slept on the plane and then played a football Aaron: Yeah, yeah. DadBodSportsCards: game in Australia. So FLINTTOWN: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: I think that's a little bit of a fluke. FLINTTOWN: Yeah. Aaron: Yeah, it could be. Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: what's up? I'm not confident in this pick, but I also don't trust Bonicks. Like they have good wide receivers. Their running game isn't I like their defense, but I think Shanahan can exploit that defense. I'm gonna pick San Francisco. But but like I said, I'm I'm not confident in it because I don't think San Francisco is as good as everybody thinks. Arizona almost crept back up on them last week. And again, that but FLINTTOWN: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: that was a divisional game. Like, I mean, it just it was just a shootout. There's a lot of there's a lot of good things that San Francisco's offense is doing, but Arizona showed that their defense can get exploited and maybe Sean Payton can scheme something up. But I'll I'll get San Francisco player to watch is gonna be Mike Evans to see if he plays or not. he's got I don't know, he's got so many injuries that they were tying it to like his fucking his prostate and everything too, because he's an old man. Yeah, yeah. It's well FLINTTOWN: What? DadBodSportsCards: they're listening. When they were listing everything that's affecting him right now, like why his groin affects his prostate and everything, they went all into detail because he's like he's super old as a wide receiver. but but if he's not playing, FLINTTOWN: Yeah, he is old as a wide receiver. DadBodSportsCards: if he's not playing, it's gonna be a lot closer than I think. But let's go with San Francisco right Aaron: Also, DadBodSportsCards: now. Yeah, what you got? Aaron: fun fact Debo Samuel set the record for most receiving yards without a reception. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, which is crazy. And by the way, mommy money had him. Zero receptions, 80 yard touchdown, and like 22 points in fantasy with no receptions, which is fucking ridiculous. R ridiculous. I mean, granted, I lost by 40, so it wouldn't have made a difference anyways, but that was a crazy stat line. Like, Aaron: Yeah. That is a crazy sat line. DadBodSportsCards: yep. All right. Next up, we got the awful mediocre Los Angeles Chargers at the Seattle Seahawks. In Seattle. Who do you got, Aaron? Aaron: We got Seattle. This one's a no brainer. Proto Watch is gonna be Jason. He is probab he is probably the best producer of the NFL right now. He is having an amazing year to start it off. That's all I gotta say. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, Flint. FLINTTOWN: I also got Seattle. LA Chargers are a dumpster fire right now, and I don't know why. It just doesn't make sense to be honest. my player to watch is the twelfth man. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, that's a good one. I I'm gonna go right there with you, Seattle. My player to watch is gonna be Jadarian Price to see if he can can get the confidence back from the coaching staff because he fumbled last week and then he only had like fifteen yards rushing, I think. and I only know that 'cause I have him in fantasy, so he sucks. but he's also a Notre FLINTTOWN: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: Dame player, Dom. Notre Dame sucks as well, overrated, Aaron: Mm-hmm. yeah. DadBodSportsCards: and you know, that's where Jod Jadarian Price came from. So but Seattle Price, my player to watch. Chargers, no chance. All right. next game we got is the Sunday night game. Actually, let's let's save this one for last because we it's an NFC North team. So let's save this one. Let's save the Sunday night game for last. Let's go to the Monday night game. We got the Atlanta Falcons at New Orleans Saints. Who you got, Aaron? Aaron: I have Atlanta. Might be FLINTTOWN: No Aaron: might be a bit of a shocker. New Orleans, they've played good. But you know who also played good? Atlanta with Michael Penix. Green Bay's defense FLINTTOWN: Hey what? Aaron: isn't okay. DadBodSportsCards: Michael Phoenix. Yeah. Aaron: Michael Penix. Green Bay's defense may not be that good, but that offense definitely took a step up with Michael Penix being there instead Cooper Rush. I know s even last year Penix and Drake London had a great connection. Their defense is good too. I trust their defense more than I trust the Saints defense. So I'm gonna pick Atlanta. They have one of the if not the best running back in the NFL right now. So my player to watch is gonna be Bajan Robinson because he can probably run over, run all over this defense. Like he's amazing. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. Flint who Aaron: He's a game changer. DadBodSportsCards: Yep, Flint, who do you FLINTTOWN: I actually I do like Atlanta but I'm going with New Orleans. I think New Orleans is legit. I know what they're two and one, right? They lost DadBodSportsCards: No. They're one and two. Or are they two and one? They're one and two. They lost a b yeah. FLINTTOWN: One and two. Aaron: right y they are one or two 'cause they lost to Detroit first game. FLINTTOWN: yeah. DadBodSportsCards: And they lost to Baltimore, right? Aaron: No, they beat Baltimore. They lost the Raiders last week. DadBodSportsCards: yeah, that's right. They lost the Raiders. They beat both. FLINTTOWN: They lost to the writers. DadBodSportsCards: Yep, one and two. FLINTTOWN: So they're they're like hot. They're like this. They're like a roller coaster. They're a young team. Aaron: Yeah, yeah. FLINTTOWN: I think they're Yeah, they're in every game. They're DadBodSportsCards: But they were in every game. They were in every game. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Mm-hmm. Aaron: They yeah, they definitely will, yeah. FLINTTOWN: a young team, they're learning the growing pains of winning and losing. I'm gonna give Or New Orleans the shot. I'm gonna pick them. I do think Alana's a lot better than with Penix. Like I said last week, when you bring him in, it changes that team. But I wanna say I'm gonna take New Orleans and Olá, velho. DadBodSportsCards: All right. I'm picking the Saints as well. I think it's going to be a close game. It's a division game. for in in order for the Saints to win, I think it's gonna be I think this game could be a shootout, right? Like Atlanta's defense is better. but I don't want to judge Atlanta based on them playing Green Bay because Green Bay was a fucking mess that game. So Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: anything that like Bijan's gonna Bijan's gonna have a good game. I don't think Drake London's gonna get an a hundred and ninety-four yards receiving. I think if the Saints can keep London intact, because there's no other wide receiver there. Kyle Pitts ain't gonna do anything. Even though we all pick him in fantasy, Kyit FLINTTOWN: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: isn't it, he's not gonna do anything, right? Aaron: Mm-hmm. No. DadBodSportsCards: And then I don't even know who the number two wide receiver is. Who's number two wide receiver? And like I Aaron: No idea, it's not Mooney anymore. DadBodSportsCards: it's not yeah. They have that branch kid, but he you know he's a rookie. Aaron: Yeah yeah, branch out of Georgia. He might be there too. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. But I mean he and he got some catches last week. but you got Bijan. You're not gonna be able to contain Bijan, but try to contain London and Penix is a time passer. Like the balls that he was throwing to London, they were ropes. They Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: there was like no touch on him. They were just s straight ropes. Left Penix's hand, and I don't know if it's my internet couldn't keep up, and then it was all of a sudden in Drake London's hands. Like it that's how fast that ball is. So you disrupt that timing a little bit. I think Tyler Shuck and that offense that they have will be able to outduel the Atlanta Falcons in that defense. But Shuck is my player to watch along, and I'm picking the New Orleans Saints. All right, so we'll go back to the Sunday night football game. we'll have Aaron go first, then I'll go after him, and then we'll have Flint finish it off since it's his team, Detroit Lions. So we got the Detroit Lions at Carolina Panthers on Sunday night football. Aaron, who do you got? Aaron: I got Detroit. Not gonna pick Carolina. La they were awful last week. That was an ugly loss to the Browns. And that offense, they just don't look good. Like they look good week one. I mean they look good week two, but they played a Cooper Rush Atlanta and they played DadBodSportsCards: Atlanta. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Aaron: the Bears week one. We we don't know what the Bears defense is up to. Like we know that they're not supposed to be that good, but they played good, but Anyways, Detroit, they're a team that you can expect to put up points. Carolina is not a team you can expect to put up points. Detroit have scored 31 points in three in the first three games. 31 exactly in their first three games. And Carolina is just not a team, like I don't think they're as consistent. You look at their wide receivers, Jalen Coker, he's not consistent. Xavier Leggett, he's not consistent. And Ted McMillan, he's not that consistent either. Bryce Young is also not consistent. Same with their running game. It's a team that if they're playing well, like they're they can play really well, but they can also have stinkers like last game. And I think they're gonna maybe not have a stinker, but I don't think they're gonna be able to play as well as they did week one or week two. So I got Detroit. Their defense is gonna have to step up though. Like Detroit I'm saying they're gonna put thirty one points up again. 'Cause that's what they've done last three weeks, but their defense has to step up because the Panthers can expose that defense. DadBodSportsCards: So Detroit, I I I say it all the time that the player to watch is gonna be Jared Goff, right? Because Goff has to be perfect in order for Detroit to win. But Goff is also doesn't have the it factor. He's not gonna he's he's gonna you know what you're gonna get from Goff. You're gonna get 300 yards, you're gonna get 280 to 310 yards passing. You're gonna get two to three touchdowns. Maybe he might throw a pick. He doesn't throw a lot of picks, but maybe he might throw a pick. And he might get sacked two or three times. You got those numbers that I just gave you, you can book it every week. He doesn't have the it factor. And the reason why he doesn't have well, I'm not gonna say the reason why he doesn't have the it factor, but because he doesn't have the it factor is the reason why I'm picking the Carolina Panthers. Because you're right, the Panthers are inconsistent, but when they get when they get rolling, they're a Aaron: They're good. Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: good team. They're their offense, like when you get Bryce Young in rhythm. This is a battle of number one picks. And you got Jared Goff, former number one pick. Does Bryce Young have the it factor? I don't think so either. But I think Carolina Panthers have a better overall team than the Detroit Lions. Like skill players, yes, we know what Detroit has. You got Gibbs. Gibbs is gonna get his. You got Amonra. Amonra's gonna get his. But you gotta have J-Mo step up, who doesn't necessarily step up. Like every game. This could be one of those games where J Mo blows up and gets a hundred yards receiving, or he can get three catches for twenty yards. FLINTTOWN: Who else? DadBodSportsCards: we're not even gonna mention that other guy because he's got twenty FLINTTOWN: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: one career receptions and he's not he might get one catch this game and that's it. Tesla Tesla Tes yeah, Tesla's Aaron: And it'll be a great catch, but DadBodSportsCards: trash. Trash. FLINTTOWN: He had three. A forty yard run or forty yard pass last game. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, he's got he's got Aaron: Think I did see that. DadBodSportsCards: f he's got five on the season. He's got five catches on the season. Like he's he's I I'm pick I'm picking Carolina. FLINTTOWN: So you're picking you're picking Panthers? DadBodSportsCards: Yes, I'm picking the Panthers. Bryce Young is gonna light up that defense. You're right, Coker has been inconsistent. Well, he got I think he got hurt again. So yeah, so he's got he's got some soft tissue, Aaron: He did he did get hurt, yeah. FLINTTOWN: Yeah, yeah. Coker's not out. DadBodSportsCards: some soft tissue issue. But it doesn't matter. They got Tet and they haven't got tech going yet. They will get him going against this defense because there's nobody that can guard him on this defense. And then on top of that, if you do have Coker come back out, that's another wide receiver that the defense can't. Guard. And then you got Chuba Hubbard, Chuba, whatever the fuck his name is. He's gonna chugga, chugga, chugga all over that defense. It's good. The Carolina Panthers are gonna put up 40 points against this defense. Detroit might put up 40, but they're they're not. They're gonna because Jared Goff isn't it. He doesn't have that it factor. He will get you in the 30 points. Carolina's gonna put up 40. Hutchinson's not gonna be able to get to Bryce Young, and he should be able to. But it's just Detroit's defense is awful. And I and I've been saying that the Bears and Detroit's defense is awful and that Detroit gets a better rating because they have a pass rush. But I don't know if the Bears defense is awful anymore after playing against Minnesota and then doing that what they did last night to the Eagles. Maybe the Bears defense are better than Detroit, and maybe that's why Detroit's still a fourth place, last place FLINTTOWN: Mm. DadBodSportsCards: team from last season, right? So they're still a last place game. What may maybe, maybe. FLINTTOWN: We'll we'll see you. We'll see you. We'll we're gonna see you. DadBodSportsCards: Golf ain't it. Gol golf is not even case keenum, right? FLINTTOWN: my gosh. my gosh. DadBodSportsCards: Yes, yes, Gibbs will get 100 yards rushing, which he didn't last week. He got 99, but we'll give him 100 yards. He'll get 100 yards total yards. Gibbs will get that. Amonra will probably get 100 yards receiving. Jared Goff will probably get 300 yards passing. And they will still fucking lose because that defense sucks. And then he's you got you're gonna have Flint talk to me after this, and he's gonna give you names like Tesla. And the only Tesla that we know of is Elon Musk and that awesome fucking electric car. Because that whatever that's on the Detroit field with the last name Tesla is not as good as that car on the road. He has five catches on the season, 21 career catches. That's he's he shouldn't even be mentioned, but Flint's gonna mention him because he thinks he's actually good. Aaron will mention him because he's an Arkansas Razorback. And when was the last time an Arkansas team had any anybody good in the NFL? When was the last time? Can you name a player? Aaron: Wasn't they had a running back. DadBodSportsCards: Exactly. You haven't. Well, you might you might be thinking of the Dallas Cowboy running back, Darren McFadden, way back in the day. That's the name that you might be thinking. Yep, and it is. It is. I I Aaron: That's what I'm thinking of. DadBodSportsCards: you know, I I birthed you. Well, I didn't birth you, but you came from me. So I knew what you were going with, Darren McFadden. All right. So so the floor is yours, Flint, to convince everyone here why the Detroit Lions even have a shot in this game after the Carolina Panthers put up thirty seven points on my Chicago Bears. And let's see if you guys can beat the Panthers. FLINTTOWN: So Jared Goff this season eight hundred and two yards passing seventy point six percent seventy point six percent passer DadBodSportsCards: Completion percentage. Mm-hmm. FLINTTOWN: rating and or no seventy eight completion percentage passer rating is one hundred and sixteen point one DadBodSportsCards: Fucking awesome. FLINTTOWN: Tell me who has more than that. That has to be top five in the league. You got Jameer Gibbs. DadBodSportsCards: It pro pr it probably is. It prob it probably is. Yes. You are one hundred percent correct. FLINTTOWN: You got Jameer Gibbs that's averaging a hundred yards per game. In rushing. Now Dad Bod will say this, and he says this all the time. We have a new offensive coordinator, right? Right? We have a new offensive coordinator. And we've DadBodSportsCards: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah. FLINTTOWN: it first three games we've consistently did thirty one points with a new OC. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. Who did you play against? The Jets, the Saints? The Jets and the Saints and the Bills. FLINTTOWN: They haven't opened they ha yep. Okay. They came back from the Bills game. I know it's garbage time, but it's still it's still DadBodSportsCards: I mean it yeah, but it it's still there, yeah. FLINTTOWN: coming back. They haven't opened up the playbook that much in the beginning. They're still learning the playbook. I I know you'll say bad things about Tesla. Jared Goff was on the radio this morning saying that Tesla actually has improved a ton since his rookie year. DadBodSportsCards: Well, I mean he he's going from Cam Ward to whatever. So yeah, so from bus to whatever. That's gonna be an improvement. No, I'm what I'm FLINTTOWN: He was on Cam Ward was on that Texas Aaron: No. DadBodSportsCards: saying is Tesla is a bust too. But at least he wasn't a f at least he wasn't a first round pick. But you're you're you're saying he's improved. He had nothing FLINTTOWN: No he's not. my gosh. DadBodSportsCards: to improve from. He started at the bottom. FLINTTOWN: Hey. Third round draft pick. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. Twenty one cat twenty one career catches. Aaron: That was reach. That that was a reach. DadBodSportsCards: Twenty one career catches. All right, hold on. FLINTTOWN: It was DadBodSportsCards: Ca can you go can you go back? What was the numbers that you gave? What was Jared Goff's completion percentage? FLINTTOWN: Seventy Completion percentage er percentage is seventy point six percent. DadBodSportsCards: Seventy pr let's say seventy one percent. Last year was sixty eight percent. Got it. Okay. What what other stat did you give? FLINTTOWN: the rating is DadBodSportsCards: His rating? Did you give his rating? Aaron: Eight. It was a hundred ten, right? FLINTTOWN: no a hundred and sixteen point one. Aaron: Under sixteen. DadBodSportsCards: One and sixteen, which is the highest so far of his career. Last year he had one five. The highest in his career was one eleven. So one hundred five last year. It's not gonna be one hundred sixteen the whole season. It's gonna drop down. It's FLINTTOWN: No. DadBodSportsCards: still be over it'll still be over a hundred. Okay. And then what was the other stat that you gave? Eight touchdown passes? FLINTTOWN: Nine or eight or nine? Aaron: Eight eight it was eight passes. DadBodSportsCards: Okay. So last year he had sixty eight per he had sixty FLINTTOWN: Eight. Eight touchdowns. DadBodSportsCards: eight percent on the completion percentage. He had FLINTTOWN: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: thirty-four touchdowns and only eight interceptions, which is a great ratio, right? FLINTTOWN: Yep. DadBodSportsCards: And then his passer rating last year was one hundred five point five. And you know what that got you guys? Fourth place in the division. So seventy percent one sixteen and eight touchdown passes doesn't mean anything. FLINTTOWN: Hey, guess what too? With a bum offensive coordinator that needed to get shot out to the moon. DadBodSportsCards: But he's putting up the same numbers as last year and you're expecting a different res you're expecting a different result. FLINTTOWN: No he's not. No he's not. He ain't putting up the same numbers. DadBodSportsCards: It's the same it's sixty eight to seventy one. I know and that and it's gonna drop. It's it's gonna drop. He's FLINTTOWN: We're three games in. You cannot that's from No, it's not. DadBodSportsCards: not gonna finish the season with seventy one per seventy one percent completion percentage. FLINTTOWN: What's Caleb's numbers? DadBodSportsCards: We're not talking about Caleb. The highest Jared Goff has I know, I know Aaron: Caleb's played one and a half games. DadBodSportsCards: I know it doesn't even matter about that. Like the highest completion percentage Jared Goff has ever had in his career is seventy two point four. So he's he was at 68% last year. So 70%, 68%. That's that like might be an extra four completions. They're pretty much the same thing. He went 34 and 8 last year for touchdowns and interceptions. Again, it's good. I'm not saying that's bad. That's a great, he's a great quarterback, but he's a great quarterback with you being a fourth place team. That's why I'm saying he has to play perfect in order for you guys to be even relevant. FLINTTOWN: It's not he plays his game. DadBodSportsCards: He right. And that's why I'm say FLINTTOWN: It's DadBodSportsCards: but he doesn't have the it factor. He d he can't raise his FLINTTOWN: He he's went to a Super Bowl. He went to a Super Bowl. He does have the it Aaron: And he put up three points! DadBodSportsCards: Not Aaron: And he put up three points! DadBodSportsCards: hold up. Not with the Lions. He had a better coach. He had a better coach. McVay's a better coach. FLINTTOWN: Two years how many Okay, hold up, hold up, hold up. McVay is a good coach. I'm not gonna lie about that. But Aaron: He's a better coach. FLINTTOWN: so you said yeah. He went to the Super Bowl in his second year of being in the NFL, right? Well, DadBodSportsCards: So did Drake May. So did Drake May and look what happened to Drake May. Aaron: Okay. FLINTTOWN: okay, well Drake May is look at how bad Drake May is. DadBodSportsCards: no, I know. I'm and I'm I'm agreeing with you that Jared Goff is great. And you're proving my point. What I what I was saying. Jared Goff's gonna get his numbers. He's gonna get 300 yards and three touchdowns. Jameer Gibbs is gonna get the hundred yards rushing, over a hundred total yards. Amonra's gonna get his too. But they get that and you're still a fourth place team because your defense is that bad. Yes. Yes. That's FLINTTOWN: It's 'cause of defense. Exactly. I agree. Aaron: That's the whole point, yeah. DadBodSportsCards: the whole point. And now you're playing against an offense that could put up numbers on you. The Jets put up numbers on you last week. Are you telling me Carolina's offense isn't is not as good as the Jets? Don't don't stop. FLINTTOWN: To be honest. DadBodSportsCards: Stop. Bryce Aaron: No DadBodSportsCards: Young or Bryce Young or Geno Smith. Who would you rather have? You're gonna pick Bryce Young. Yeah. Yeah. And the white, why, why FLINTTOWN: Well yeah, I would pick Bryce Young 'cause he's younger. But also Geno Smith has put up four hundred yards on us last year doing the same thing. DadBodSportsCards: That's what I'm saying. That's exactly what I'm saying. Your offense isn't your problem. Your offense is gonna do their job. It's your defense is why you lose. Yes. FLINTTOWN: Exactly. Yes. But you can't fault Jared Goff for the law. Aaron: He's not voting Jared Goff. DadBodSportsCards: I no, I am faulting Jared Goff because he can't step his game up to another level. He doesn't have it. Okay, there's certain quarterbacks. FLINTTOWN: How are you supposed to hold on? If you're consistent, if you're consistent and you're getting 30 plus points DadBodSportsCards: Yes. FLINTTOWN: per game, DadBodSportsCards: Mm-hmm. FLINTTOWN: that should win you any game in the NFL. DadBodSportsCards: It should, and it will win you the majority of games. You are correct. FLINTTOWN: Yes. DadBodSportsCards: And but this is this is where this is this is this is why he's not a top five quarterback. Think of the top five quarterbacks. We got Matt Stafford. Do we do we think Matt Stafford has a clutch gene? I would say yes. He's fearless and he's got a clutch gene and he's got a Super Bowl. And you saw him throw the pick six last week, and what did he do the next drive? He threw a touchdown pass because he has a short-term memory. But it's safe to say that Matt Stafford probably has a clutch gene. Maybe not this season, but we're gonna say who's a better quarterback, Patrick Mahomes. Does Patrick Mahomes have FLINTTOWN: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: it? Will he win you a game? Like when Aaron: Yes. DadBodSportsCards: it's down. Yes. That's a yes. Jared Goff doesn't have that. Caleb is still young, but Caleb has it. Caleb might not have the consistency that Goff has, but at least Caleb has it. You know Caleb will win you games by going off script. Goff can't go off script. That's why he's always gonna be, hey, this is your quarterback. He's gonna put up these numbers every year. You're gonna have a good offense, but you're never gonna get over that hump because he doesn't have it. He's not gonna go that extra level where you need a quarterback to go, where we see these quarterbacks go. And it FLINTTOWN: So you're saying that you have to have the it factor to win a Super Bowl? Sam Darnold? DadBodSportsCards: For the most part, unless you have a badass fucking def this is this is exactly what I'm about to say. Aaron: He had no turnovers in the playoffs. DadBodSportsCards: Right, but this is exactly what I'm saying. Unless unless well, Jared Go Jared Goff doesn't turn the ball over that much either. But but FLINTTOWN: Exactly. That's what I mean. DadBodSportsCards: but to counter that is Seattle's defense, I think we all know is what won them that Super Bowl. That defense Aaron: Yes. DadBodSportsCards: was nasty last year. So if your quarterback doesn't have it, you have to have the defense. At least at least Detroit doesn't even need a Seattle type defense from last year. They just need an average defense in order FLINTTOWN: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: for them to be a Super Bowl contender. I have nothing wrong with the Lions offense and what Goff does. But because your defense is so bad, you have to have Goff be more than just a pocket passer and sitting in the pocket and getting his numbers. You have to have more. FLINTTOWN: Hold up though. You can't ask you can't ask a pocket passer quarterback to go out there running around throwing passes. DadBodSportsCards: You're you're right, you can't. That's why I'm saying he's not a top five quarterback. FLINTTOWN: Well also if you look at Brett Favre, he was a pocket passer. He had the if factor. DadBodSportsCards: I thought it's in the n What Brett Farver could at least scramble, but Jared Goff can't scramble. Goff can't you know Goff can't scramble at all. FLINTTOWN: Okay. Hold up, hold up, hold up, hold up, hold up. Exactly then. DadBodSportsCards: You could you could compare him to Peyton Manning, yes. He's more he's more of a better FLINTTOWN: No, Peyton Manning or Matt Stafford. Matt Stafford does not scramble. DadBodSportsCards: you're you're right. He doesn't. He doesn't. But but but even Sean McVay agrees with me that Matt Stafford's better than Goff. That's why he traded Goff for Stafford. Because he saw Stafford he could win a Super Bowl with. He didn't FLINTTOWN: Okay. DadBodSportsCards: see it with Goff. That's why he traded for FLINTTOWN: If you guys know but Stafford wanted out of Detroit, that's why he DadBodSportsCards: Wait, right. FLINTTOWN: traded for Stafford. Stafford would DadBodSportsCards: But yeah, but he still gave up. FLINTTOWN: have went Stafford would have been a Detroit line until he he retired if he didn't DadBodSportsCards: Well I but the FLINTTOWN: ask for a trade. DadBodSportsCards: but the point is Sean McVay wanted Stafford. Even if he found out that Stafford wanted out, he wanted Stafford over Goff, and then he proved that he won a Super Bowl with Stafford and got rid of Goff. So th what that tells me is he had Goff, you're right, Goff went to the Super Bowl after a second season. Goff didn't have a a shitty well, he didn't have a great first year as but he was a rookie, right? He's a he's a rookie. So we'll we'll give him a pass. The the second FLINTTOWN: Yeah. He started halfway through the season. DadBodSportsCards: the second season, he he Got them to a Super Bowl. Sean McVay worked with Goff and looked at Goff and said, You're not it. You're not gonna get win us a Super Bowl. Let's trade for Stafford. And that's what they did. And what happened? They got a Super Bowl with Stafford. Goff, Goff is great. Don't get me wrong. He's great. He's just not gonna get you there. He he doesn't have it. FLINTTOWN: I degree I disagree with ya. I do. Aaron: I think what he's also trying to say, Goff is a great quarterback, but if your defense isn't good, he's not the quarterback that's gonna win with a bad defense. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. Your defense just your defense just has to be average. And let let's go back to the years when you guys went sixteen and one, was it? Or fifteen. Aaron: Fifteen and two. Fifteen and two. DadBodSportsCards: Fift whatever that season that they lost to the commanders, right? That season you had a decent defense. You had more but slightly above average defense. Well, was at least FLINTTOWN: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: average. Your offense was your offense was the same. Your offense is the same since then. FLINTTOWN: Okay, we had a great defense up until yes, up until the end. Aaron: And they got banged up. Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: Okay, don't don't okay, let let's let's get away from the up until. Regular season, do you have I I I understand FLINTTOWN: You have to put that to DadBodSportsCards: that, Flint, but what I'm saying is you guys went 15 and 2 because you had a good defense and a fucking awesome offense. So you went 15 and 2. What is the difference? What is the difference? Now you're a fourth place team. Your offense is still great, but your defense is awful. So what I'm saying is you're not gonna win games until that defense does something. That and they're not. They're not gonna do anything this season. FLINTTOWN: I disagree with you. DadBodSportsCards: Are they are they gonna do anything this game? Are they gonna stop Carolina? You think they're gonna stop Carolina? Okay. FLINTTOWN: I do. I think they're gonna yes. Yes. Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: I mean we'll we'll find we'll find out. They Aaron: Yeah, we'll find out. DadBodSportsCards: I mean we'll we'll find out. They haven't been able to stop Geno Smith. They haven't been able to stop Tyler Shuck. They haven't been able to stop who is the other team that they played? well Josh Al. I that's that's fair, right? That's Aaron: Josh Allen. That's Josh Allen, yeah. DadBodSportsCards: that's fair. Yeah. So I don't know, I don't know what gives you confidence when they haven't stopped anybody. Even all last season they couldn't stop anybody. I don't know what all of a sudden gives you confidence. Is it because that jersey you have in the background? He's getting more reps. FLINTTOWN: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: And then you got Tess Tess Law's getting fired up. He's significant. He got three catches last week. Aaron: No DadBodSportsCards: That's the difference that's the difference. FLINTTOWN: I just think it take it takes more than three games to write a team. And the things DadBodSportsCards: I agree. FLINTTOWN: that I've seen the team do, I see where they're heading DadBodSportsCards: Mm. FLINTTOWN: in the adjustments that they're making, and the the guys that are making the plays. And some of them are younger, they're gonna make mistakes, some of them are gonna They're tryna like rake, right? That was his first game. But he's gonna get more time being cornerback now because he did he broke up a huge pass that could had the Jets go down and win the game. There's a lot of things that I think Some guys coming back later on, I think this defense will be a lot DadBodSportsCards: And and they could be. And I'm gonna disagree with you about week like we you're right, you can't judge from three games. I 100% but how is it different from last season? They look the same as they do last season. There's nothing different. FLINTTOWN: They didn't have Branch and Kirby and all of them guys. DadBodSportsCards: I know, but what I'm saying is like Like so you're saying your defense was better last year than right now? That that's that's what I'm saying. FLINTTOWN: No, they they DadBodSportsCards: You don't have them right now. So I'm basing this off what I saw last year and the first three games. They're no different from what they were last year. FLINTTOWN: Last year we lost branch, I think early in DadBodSportsCards: And you still don't have branch. FLINTTOWN: the year. DadBodSportsCards: Correct. So that's what I'm saying. Like your y FLINTTOWN: He should be back here soon. DadBodSportsCards: but your team hasn't changed since you lost branch. That defense hasn't changed. From last season to this season, that defense is still awful. FLINTTOWN: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. So that's what that's what I'm basic that's what I'm that's how I'm analyzing them is from last season and then this season, not just the three games. It's how going how they finished last year and going into this season. The only difference is they have an easier schedule now because you played the Saints, but you only won by like one point against the Saints. And then you played the Bills, which I mean that that's gonna be a loss. The Josh Allen is just too good. And then now you just yeah, and then now FLINTTOWN: Already said that was a loss before DadBodSportsCards: you now you just play the Jets and you barely beat the Jets with Geno Smith. FLINTTOWN: We beat DadBodSportsCards: You did, you did beat them. FLINTTOWN: Hey, the Browns beat the Who thought the Browns were gonna beat Carolina? DadBodSportsCards: The Panthers I vr right, I agree. But the only difference from last season to this season is you have an easier schedule, which that's just part of it. So you might win more games, but you're still gonna be fourth place in the division. FLINTTOWN: If we win more games, how are we gonna be fourth place? DadBodSportsCards: Because the Bears are gonna run away with it going fifteen and two. FLINTTOWN: They're not. You're crazy. DadBodSportsCards: I mean, we're on pace for that. Aaron: Shit. DadBodSportsCards: We're on pace for that. We just won with a we just won with a third string quarterback. Who put up who put up FLINTTOWN: That hey, it's that L N phone. DadBodSportsCards: who put up Jared Goff numbers? FLINTTOWN: It's the NFL. I'm just telling ya. To go fourteen or fifteen and two is not easy. Aaron: You don't want a fifteen wins, there's a there's a fifteen win curse. DadBodSportsCards: Well, I don't give a fuck about the curse. Like well, let's not talk about curses 'cause you with the Madden curse and whatever, all that bullshit. But let let let let's just look at the numbers. Like Detroit needs an average defense in order to be relevant. If you can become a top not FLINTTOWN: I think any team though needs an average defense to be relevant. Like if you really think about it, the NFL, you need an average defense to be relevant. You can't be sucky defense and be relevant. Like that wouldn't DadBodSportsCards: I'm trying to think. FLINTTOWN: make sense. DadBodSportsCards: Well that that that's that's a good that's that's a good question. So who Aaron, can you think of any like team that has a bad defense that has an above average quarterback like like that has the if actor? Yeah, but Aaron: No, the Bengals last year, that was their whole story last year, and they did nothing. DadBodSportsCards: but but Burrow was out. Burrow got hurt. I mean the Bears had a awful defense last year and they made it to that. Aaron: I the Bears are good example. Caleb will like you're talking about the it factor, they had the most comeback wins, they had the most clutch wins last year. DadBodSportsCards: I mean go golf does have comeback wins just because of how things played out. Detroit getting the ball last and all that. Aaron: Yeah. I get your point. Like I I I get your point. DadBodSportsCards: Like we know Detroit's gonna Detroit by on offense. I'm not faulting that. I just don't think your defense is gonna keep you in it. And when you when you play above average teams, like you're gonna lose. Just like what happened last year. Like, I think Carolina Carolina's gonna win that division in the NFC South. Like, I think Carolina's gonna win that division. They probably have the most all around team in that division. Like quarterback wise and FLINTTOWN: Who's in their division? DadBodSportsCards: the the Bucks. Yeah, Bucks Aaron: Falcons, Saints, and Bucks. DadBodSportsCards: Saints. Yeah. Shuck is Shuck is still too young. He might be s a year away. FLINTTOWN: I think it's actually gonna come d it's gonna be close. Aaron: It is. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, I think I I agree. I think it is gonna be close. 'Cause who knows what Penic Penix is gonna do the rest of the season. FLINTTOWN: I feel like Tampa Bay is gonna be at the bottom, but Aaron: yeah. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, I I would agree with that. Which which is a shocker because I would have never thought Aaron: It is DadBodSportsCards: with Baker, but Baker's is out. And that he wasn't even playing that well anyways. I don't I don't know. Like I like I feel bad for you. FLINTTOWN: He has a factor and Baker doesn't look good. DadBodSportsCards: I feel bad for you, Flint, because it's the same thing last year. It's like you know your defense is the problem. It's you're gonna get the pity party because your your GM your FLINTTOWN: I don't want no pity party. I don't want no pity party. I don't need no pity party. DadBodSportsCards: GM needs to get you something. You guys gotta get Porter. Give up a first round pick for Porter. Fucking just just FLINTTOWN: We're we're not giving up a first round. We're gonna we'll give the second and third round for Porter. DadBodSportsCards: If if I tell if I told you if you gave up a first round pick that you would win the division, would you do it? Aaron: For quarterback one of the future in the division? That's not a that's FLINTTOWN: How old is he? DadBodSportsCards: I don't know how old he is. Aaron: he's like twenty four. He's still in his rookie contract. DadBodSportsCards: You know your D Bs are your problem. Like so Aaron: Your D B one is who, Rocky Asim? DadBodSportsCards: I don't know. Like I'm I w I would be the more aggressive GM. FLINTTOWN: No. s read. DadBodSportsCards: Like if I see that I have this offense and my defense is what's killing us, do whatever it takes to get your defense better. Give a first round pick. I mean, it's probably not gonna be happening a first round pick. Give a second round pick. Do something. FLINTTOWN: give a second, third, and future fourth forum. DadBodSportsCards: Second, third, and fourth. I mean, that might be I would rather just give a first round pick and keep those other picks. Why? Because Aaron: Three players to one. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. Like you build your team off FLINTTOWN: And there's DadBodSportsCards: the second and third round, fourth round picks. Detroit has done well in the draft. Detroit has done well in the draft FLINTTOWN: Get that. Yes. DadBodSportsCards: in the first round picks, like with Campbell and then Gibbs and and all that. They've they've done really well in the first round picks. But and and maybe that's why they want to keep the first because you guys can draft pretty well. I don't know, man. Like like I would I mean, Detroit's gonna I think it's gonna either be the the Bears or Detroit winning this division. I think eventually Minnesota is gonna falter. I don't think their defense can play at that level the whole fucking season. and like and if and if they and FLINTTOWN: Exactly. It's seventeen games, that's a long season. DadBodSportsCards: if they do play at that level the whole season, they gotta get better offense because Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: they like once they start like because the Bears the Bears aren't there yet to be able to compete with that defense. Detroit might be able to compete with that defense. I don't know how well Goff does against Flores. I don't know those. FLINTTOWN: Florence is always hard. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. FLINTTOWN: He's been hard for the whole the whole division he's been. DadBodSportsCards: For the division. Yeah, yeah. So like but what I'm saying is like I don't I think I even think Detroit can outlast Minnesota because Minnesota doesn't have an offense. So I think it's gonna go down to the Bears and Lions for this division. Because Green Bay, I think they'll continue continue to falter. But it's g and that's why I'm so hard on the Detroit Lions, is because they don't they're just doing the same thing they are last year, and if they do that, they're they're gonna be behind the Bears. FLINTTOWN: think they know like They know branch is coming back, right? Know about Kirby and Kirby's a huge factor, like him branch and Kirby coming back, that would ultimately change that whole defense. Them two in the back. It would change the whole defense. The corners wouldn't be out on an island by themselves. Cause you I don't even know who's back there. I really don't. I don't it's someone each Aaron: Que seen. FLINTTOWN: week. Yeah. Rockison. I think he's hurt too. I think he just DadBodSportsCards: I want I want everybody to listen to this. The two fans, right? I'm a Bears fan. Flint is a Lions fan. Flint keeps saying when Branch comes back, when Branch comes back. He FLINTTOWN: Mm-hmm. Yep. DadBodSportsCards: and then you just said you think the front office is waiting for Branch comes back. And then you got someone like me as a Bears fan that listens to Ben Johnson every day, because I'm I'm dialed into listening to the Bears post-game, pregame, everything during the week, right? Ben Johnson doesn't give a fuck about you if you're not on the field. We will never say, hey, when Branch gets back. We will never say, hey, when Kyler Gordon gets back. When he's asked about Kyler Gordon, what does he say? I got nothing to say about that. Because he's not on the fucking team. He's not doing us any favors right now. When we talk about Kobe Bryant not on the team right now because he got hurt, our biggest acquisition this offseason, we don't talk about him and saying, our defense will get good when he gets back. It's about the now. It's about right now. It's about next man up, like what you saw Case Keenum and Case Keenum actually said it last night. This is the next man, it's the next man up mentality. This is this is what the Lions lost when Ben Johnson left. It's that toughness. It's about the now. It's it's a it's FLINTTOWN: No my god! DadBodSportsCards: about wanting to win right now and saying fuck it to the outsiders, say fuck it to the people that aren't here, including our players that aren't here, that we're gonna win without you. Caleb not here. Caleb's in a robe. We're gonna win without you. We're not gonna say, we're gonna dial we're not we're gonna lose this game because we don't have our quarterback. We don't yeah. FLINTTOWN: So wait, Ben Johnson left and the toughness left out of DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. W FLINTTOWN: Detroit. DadBodSportsCards: it it left out of you maybe because you're saying wait wait till branch gets back. Why are we waiting for branch to get why are you waiting? It's about now. It's about now. FLINTTOWN: Because we have no one in the back. We can't ha we don't just grow guys on trees back here. DadBodSportsCards: Well ni neither do we. We have fucking guy Cam Lewis who's making plays last night. I don't know who the fuck Cam Lewis is. We have another Aaron: Yeah, twenty one. I never saw that dude in my life. DadBodSportsCards: And then 32. We had 30. Xavier Woods. I think he played for the Bills as a safety. I don't fucking know who he is. Last year, we had that tall fucking guy who went who got the big contract. He had like he led the league in the interceptions last year. Nashawn Wright. Who the Aaron: Nishon Wright, Nishon Wright. Yes. DadBodSportsCards: fuck is he? You you gotta, you gotta, and maybe it's because you lost Aaron Glenn too. Because you lost you lost two great coordinators, not just Ben Johnson. You lost Aaron Glenn who can who can develop FLINTTOWN: Schema. DadBodSportsCards: players. Develop. Aaron: Yes. DadBodSportsCards: Develop players. I don't care FLINTTOWN: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: about that. I mean, scheme up, yes, but I'm talking about developing players because it is about the next man up. Like, we gotta stop getting away from hey, we're waiting on Branch. Like, okay, let's say Branch comes back. What if it stays bad? Then what? It's like, he's not fully back yet. When next year when he's fully healthy. Yeah. FLINTTOWN: No, I'm hey, no, I agree with you that we need to do something. And I was for going after Joey Porter. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, I mean you guys are still you guys are still Aaron doesn't want it because that's good because his D Bs need help. But but he's out there. His name's out there. Yeah. Pay pay the man. Just pay him. Yeah. FLINTTOWN: I know. But the Steelers are screwing up. The Steelers are screwing up on that whole thing. Pay the man, exactly. Aaron: We are. They're twenty seven a year and he said no I want guaranteed money. FLINTTOWN: Exactly. Yep. DadBodSportsCards: I mean, yeah, so you work it out. You work it out. Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: Look, look what the fucking Eagles and Rams do. I don't know how the Eagles have all these big ass contracts. Aaron: I I get it either. DadBodSportsCards: The Rams give up their first round pick every year. Like, I don't know. I don't know. So whatever FLINTTOWN: either. Yeah. I don't get it. DadBodSportsCards: they're doing, like our teams have to do, right? The the Lions have to do it to make it work. The Steelers have to do it to make it work. The Bears have to do it too. FLINTTOWN: The thing is but the thing is about that, it's gonna catch up to and then they're gonna suck for ten plus years. Aaron: They said that about the Rams. DadBodSportsCards: When? They said that about the Rams. They haven't had a first round pick like this FLINTTOWN: I know I know. DadBodSportsCards: past season was when they Aaron: They won a Super Bowl, sucked for like a year, and then now they're back in it. FLINTTOWN: I know. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. It's like FLINTTOWN: I know. But how are they doing it? DadBodSportsCards: I don't I don't know. But but these GMs should be studying how it's getting done so they could do it for their team. But go ahead. Yes. Aaron: Same thing with the same thing with the Eagles. They have the team for it. It's just a coaching issue. They won the Super Bowl a couple years ago. They're doing all their money bullshit. And they're still because of the roster, a people still think they can still contend. Now it's a coaching issue, but it's not a roster issue. So they're doing it. DadBodSportsCards: Right. The Eagle, the the front office of the Eagles, they want to win it every year. So they'll do whatever it takes, moving money around and all these salaries. Aaron: Yeah. They got Tariq Willen. DadBodSportsCards: The Rams definitely want to win every year because they know that the Stafford window isn't going to be lasting long because he's old, right? So they give up the first round pick. They make all these, they make all these deals and everything. That's where the Lions have to be. The Lions have to have that mentality. You can't keep thinking that this offense is going to be like this for another five years. Eventually, age is going to catch up with golf. I mean, Gibbs is still young. Amonra still, you know, but like, but you you guys have had a FLINTTOWN: Yeah. That's the thing I think DadBodSportsCards: great offense for the past four years and like take that next step to get your defense because that's the problem. FLINTTOWN: That's what I that's what I feel like he's trying to do is like lay the foundation players. That's why I don't think they wanna go out and just like drop all this money because then they can't re-sign them foundation players that they got to there. DadBodSportsCards: Well fair I mean I I understand, but like you want to win now. Like you don't want to miss you FLINTTOWN: no, I do yeah. DadBodSportsCards: you don't wanna miss this window that you got Goff, Gibbs, and Amonra, right? Trade trade FLINTTOWN: But I don't know if DadBodSportsCards: J Mo. Trade J-Mo. Like, yeah, what FLINTTOWN: We can't. DadBodSportsCards: you got Tesla. So you're big on Tesla, up up. FLINTTOWN: Yes, but we we can't we can't trade JMO because the salary cap hit would kill us. DadBodSportsCards: well, yeah, that's just because you just re signed him. Correct. Okay. Well, tr trade Tesla since he's so great. Get him to help your defense. Trade Tesla. Trade Laporta. Pack pack FLINTTOWN: Yeah, trade LaPorta. DadBodSportsCards: package those two fucks. Or actually you don't even have to package Tesla with that. Trade Laporta. Move Tesla to tight end because he'd probably be a better tight end than a than a a wide receiver FLINTTOWN: Yeah. He would. He would. DadBodSportsCards: three. Like he could get things up the middle. He's got the size and he's got he's he's got speed over a tight end because he's got wide receiver speed. I don't know how fast his four his forty was. FLINTTOWN: Actu it's pretty quick. I actually think they drafted Tesla to move to tight end. Yes. I do. DadBodSportsCards: To replace Laporta? Yeah. And do it. Trade Laporta. You won't I mean you won't get a lot, but who knows? Maybe you could throw in Laporta. The Steelers have tight ends, right? You got tight you got f you got Friarmouth and you got that you got that fucking big yeah, you got that Darnell Washington who's Aaron: Yeah, Fire Moose, we got Darnell. We got Darno. FLINTTOWN: Dude, that dude's massive. Lineman. Hey. DadBodSportsCards: a fucking He's a lot that's an extra lineman for them who can catch them all. Yeah. I I don't know. I mean, who who who Aaron: He is a lineman, he's six six seven, three hundred pounds. No, no, no. I'll cry if we get traded. FLINTTOWN: I'll take him. I'd take him. DadBodSportsCards: on the Chargers Could you go for? what's what's what's that what's their safety's name? Derwin James. You guys FLINTTOWN: Gates. Aaron: Darwin James? DadBodSportsCards: can go for Derwin James when they have the fire sale. Because the Bears, the the Bears are probably gonna go for Khalil Matt. Aaron: Charges are gonna have a fire sale, probably. DadBodSportsCards: They're gonna have to have a fire sale. Yeah. So Derwin James. Like, you know, Chargers don't have a tight end right now. Trade Laporte and a draft pick for Derwin James. That'll make your defense a little better. He I mean, he's older, but he's still he's still a relevant player to get your defense. That I mean, I don't know, man. Like I would I'm so glad I'm not a Lions fan because I would be pissed. Like because you know your offense is good and I can't FLINTTOWN: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: imagine like scoring 30 points and just losing, right? Because your defense FLINTTOWN: And I really don't think Kirby Joseph is ever coming. Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: What was his what was his injury? FLINTTOWN: It's a it's get this. It's a degenerative knee issue. Aaron: Degenerative knee, right? DadBodSportsCards: Is it an okay. Just the just the name alone shows Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: it's not gonna get better, right? Yeah. Yeah, yeah. There's there's not. Yeah. I FLINTTOWN: There is no fixing it. There's no fixing it. No treatment, nothing. So DadBodSportsCards: mean, we spent a lot of time in Detroit, and I'm happy to have this debate because I mean a lot of we get a lot of Detroit listeners. And plus I love forgiving Flint shit because you know, I like to rub Ben Johnson in his face any chance that I get, even if it's wrong. I I know. Because you don't have to you because you don't have to worry about your offense. FLINTTOWN: Even care about Ben Johnson anymore. No, I shouldn't. Yeah. Aaron: You should. DadBodSportsCards: 'Cause you don't have to worry about your offense. Your offense is fine. Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: Like like we we talked about it. FLINTTOWN: And to be honest, I actually like the Drew Pensing offensive coordinator. And DadBodSportsCards: Mm. FLINTTOWN: the things I've heard, because he actually is friends with Ben Johnson. Did you know that? He went to college with Ben Johnson and they were roommates. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Hmm. FLINTTOWN: But I Aaron: And they were roommates. FLINTTOWN: they were roommates. But I do I think he has a creative mindset. I just don't think they opened up the book yet. Like it's game three, you know, they're not gonna let the bag DadBodSportsCards: Right. What I'm what I'm worried about is you don't have a backup running back. Monty played a huge part because Monty can get Monty FLINTTOWN: I know. I know. DadBodSportsCards: can get ten to twelve carries a game to get that get that get that workload off of Jameer Gibbs, right? Like Gibbs, I think, could play a full season. I and and have that amount of carries. I think he can. Like he's a great running back. It's between him and Bijan as the best running back in the league. There's no question. Right. FLINTTOWN: Yep, yeah. DadBodSportsCards: But the thing is you do Don't want to do that to your running back because you don't want to put that you don't want to put that FLINTTOWN: I know. No, I totally agree. DadBodSportsCards: workload on them if you want to make a run towards the end. Cause, you know, he's gonna be they're they're already banged up, right? It's week three, they're already banged up. It's football. FLINTTOWN: I think that yeah. Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: You know, so you guys don't have a number two running back. Like I forgot his name. It it starts with starts with a S. No, Pacheco's out though. Yeah. He's on. Yeah, that guy. That guy. Because I picked him up in fantasy one of my leagues Aaron: Pacheco. right, he is out. Shit. FLINTTOWN: Yeah, trick was out. Sailor. Sailor. He's decent. DadBodSportsCards: because They said he was gonna get more carries. He's he's on the up and up in, you know, and I think once he gets more trust, he might he might be the Monty role to Gibbs, and all that. But like what what's going on with your team right now is like eventually you're gonna have to find that number two running back. And maybe Pacheco's gonna be that answer when he comes back. But defense, man, that FLINTTOWN: I don't DadBodSportsCards: fucking defense. FLINTTOWN: I know, trust me. That defense is horrible. DadBodSportsCards: Bryce th this this game I think is gonna be a shootout. Bryce Young, four hundred yards passing. FLINTTOWN: They you know what they need Aaron: It could be. FLINTTOWN: to you know what they need to run is more zone. DadBodSportsCards: Instead of man. Yeah, but FLINTTOWN: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: that's Dan Campbell. That's Dan Campbell Dan Campbell likes man. That's the Dan Campbell thing. Yeah. That FLINTTOWN: Nana Man. DadBodSportsCards: I mean I mean and I understand that I like man defense better because FLINTTOWN: I do too. DadBodSportsCards: it's 'cause it's like, hey, this it's you versus me. I'm the tougher FLINTTOWN: Yes. DadBodSportsCards: one. But the problem is you're not anymore. Like defensively. Defensively, you're not anymore. Yep. Yeah. FLINTTOWN: Well you don't have you don't got guys that can Aaron: Yeah. That's why we're running zone, FLINTTOWN: cover. Aaron: 'cause we don't have JPJ, like DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, keep keep everything in front. That's why I like the Tampa two. It's a boring ass defense or cover two. It's boring, but you keep everything in front of you because you got those two high safeties. And that FLINTTOWN: But it works. Yep. Yep. DadBodSportsCards: you're right. That's what Detroit needs to do. Like, and I think that's kind of a little bit what the Bears do. That's why you get a ton of yards on the Bears. You bend, but you don't break, right? Aaron: Yeah. FLINTTOWN: And then at the at the red zone you take away. Yeah. That's exactly DadBodSportsCards: And the Bears Yeah. It tightens up. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And like FLINTTOWN: what you gotta do. DadBodSportsCards: And my Bears are extremely lucky because they get takeaways. That I mean, last year they did it. They're doing it again this season. That's not the norm. It's not the norm to get like two or three turnovers a game. That is not normal and everything. But Aaron: Yeah. It's not. There's for stealers. DadBodSportsCards: it's it's it's it's a good debate. Especially when a game like this, Detroit and Carolina, like I I I think highly of Carolina. I don't know why. because you're right, they're one and two, but I I I think highly of them. Aaron: I I get that, like FLINTTOWN: Legat's not playing too either. Aaron: they're for DadBodSportsCards: Who? FLINTTOWN: Legat not playing. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, but I mean yeah. He's too busy eating raccoons. Aaron: He's he's a non factor. He sucks anyways. But FLINTTOWN: Yeah. Aaron: their first two weeks they scored thirty four and thirty seven, so I get it. I just think they got beat pretty bad last week. But Detroit's defense isn't good. DadBodSportsCards: It did. But but yeah. Aaron: So DadBodSportsCards: I mean, I really thought like I thought they could show something against the Jets, because I'm like, okay, Geno Smith is a gunslinger and everything, but like, but he's not gonna he's not gonna keep him in the game. But Aaron: He did. DadBodSportsCards: Garrett Wilson, like he just he was catch after catch. And then and then now you got br and then Brees Hall got hurt, but Brees Hall was having a decent game. And then that tight end, that Sadiq Aaron: Sadiq. DadBodSportsCards: guy, I don't even know who the fuck he is, but apparently he's having a good season. Like, yeah. Aaron: That was a great catch. That was an amazing touchdown. DadBodSportsCards: But I don't but and then again at the same time, I don't know if it's just because the Detroit defense is that bad. Like I expect the Bills to put up those numbers. I expect maybe the Saints because Tyler Shuck, because what we saw last year, he throws the ball out. But I didn't expect the Jets to Yeah. So now you're Aaron: Yeah. Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: now you're telling me you got Bryce Young and that wide receiving core coming in and their offensive mind head coach. I was like, yeah, I'm gonna go. I'm I'm picking Carolina. I already know what I'm gonna get with Detroit. Aaron: Still pick Detroit. I think FLINTTOWN: We'll see. Aaron: I think Detroit they're good like I think they're guaranteed the 30 points. It's just I don't know. Carolina's not. That that's my old take. DadBodSportsCards: Y you know, I'm gonna change my player to watch. My player to watch is gonna be Hutch. He's gotta get to Bryce Young. He's Aaron: Hm. Yeah. FLINTTOWN: He is again. DadBodSportsCards: gotta get pressure on Bryce Young. Cause FLINTTOWN: I know he didn't get a lot of pressure last game and DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. FLINTTOWN: they literally were double and triple teaming him, which is crazy. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, yeah. But he but he but he has to step it up to help that secondary. Put pressure on the quarterback. That way the secondary Yeah. Yeah. FLINTTOWN: Yep. Yeah. Yeah, they need to get to the quarterback. They need to contain them. DadBodSportsCards: How often do you guys blitz? Do you guys not blitz a lot? FLINTTOWN: They started doing some blitzing last game. And DadBodSportsCards: Okay. FLINTTOWN: the thing is like that's the huge thing. You have to do DadBodSportsCards: You don't have say it. Yeah. FLINTTOWN: surprise blitzes. You can't DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. FLINTTOWN: do like, the quarterback knows we're blitzing. Well DadBodSportsCards: Mm. FLINTTOWN: th if the quarterback knows we're blitzing, he's gonna get the ball out as soon as he can, right? DadBodSportsCards: Right, right. FLINTTOWN: Right in the middle of the field. Guy crossing DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. FLINTTOWN: route there, boom. Then he's open field. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. FLINTTOWN: You have to disguise the blitzes. And that's the one thing on defense that I'm hating. That he doesn't he doesn't he doesn't make it where you think it's not there, you know, you think it's zone and also it's a blitz. DadBodSportsCards: Right, right. Yeah, I mean maybe the FLINTTOWN: You gotta do. DadBodSportsCards: answer maybe the answer is just bend no break and hope that your pass rush gets to him. Like keep your safeties high, that way they don't get beat. And then just hope that Hutch and then eventually Derek Moore. I mean, I'm I'm not putting it on Derek Moore because he's a rookie, but I think he I think he's I think he's gonna be really good. I think he's gonna be a FLINTTOWN: Yeah, it takes a while. I do too. DadBodSportsCards: really good pass rusher. So eventually once he gets, you know, used to play the NFL speed and everything, I think you got gonna have two dynamic pass rushers back there. FLINTTOWN: And melee or Our defensive tackles, Tyleek Williams DadBodSportsCards: It okay. FLINTTOWN: and Ali McNeil. DadBodSportsCards: Okay. FLINTTOWN: Tyleek Williams is a s you know, this is a second year. He's improved a ton. Like it's hard to run right through the middle of us 'cause them two DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. FLINTTOWN: guys. So like the middle of the defense is really good. It's that outside, you know, need to get pressure. DadBodSportsCards: Who so besides Campbell besides Campbell, who's your other linebackers? Are they okay? FLINTTOWN: Devin White, he was hurt, but he's okay. DadBodSportsCards: I mean he's okay. He's okay. Was he a stealer, Aaron? Aaron: Devin White, actually I think he was for a year. He was in Tampa Bay. wait, no. We FLINTTOWN: No, Tampa Bay. Tampa Bay and then he went DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. Okay, yeah. Aaron: we had Quan Alexander, that's who we had. DadBodSportsCards: Okay. FLINTTOWN: Devin White last year had the most tackles, like one of the most tackles. Yeah, Raiders. Aaron: He was a he was on the Raiders. DadBodSportsCards: I always I always get him confused with who the Bears got was Devin Bush. I always get those two confused. Okay, that's okay, that's what it was. Okay. Aaron: Devin Bush is a stealer, yes, he was originally a stealer. Like he towards ACO. DadBodSportsCards: Because I mean they were both they both good linebackers. Yeah. FLINTTOWN: we have Rodrigo he's he's the backup but he's alright like when he needs to yeah he's awesome he's and DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. I remember him from Hard Knocks. Yeah. He yeah. Yeah. FLINTTOWN: then Der or My kid, Madam. Derek Barnes. And Derek Barnes is good, but DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. Okay, yeah, I know who he is. Yeah. Yeah, it's your D Bs. It's the D B's, yeah. FLINTTOWN: It's it's the D Bs. It's it you have that whole front half of the defense good. It's the D Bs. Like DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. FLINTTOWN: I wish we had Rivus out there. You DadBodSportsCards: Right. Yeah. FLINTTOWN: know, like DadBodSportsCards: All right, that was a heat FLINTTOWN: Because we DadBodSportsCards: that that was a heated discussion. This turned into a Detroit Lions debate. That was a good discussion though. I I FLINTTOWN: It wasn't it wasn't heated. Aaron: It was. DadBodSportsCards: think it's a good discussion. You know I'm gonna give you shit because I want like I like I want you like y but yes, because you're FLINTTOWN: I know. You are misery for me. DadBodSportsCards: you are the competition. You are the competition to the Bears for FLINTTOWN: I know. I know. DadBodSportsCards: this division. I view the Lions as the competition for this division. With as bad as Green Bay is playing right now, I think the Lions this is an opportunity for the Lions to to get a step up from what they did last year, right? So FLINTTOWN: I actually think Green Bay is gonna be at the bottom of our division for Aaron: Could FLINTTOWN: the years to come. DadBodSportsCards: So I I I would agree with you. I want to see what it looks like when Micah Parsons come back. Like, Aaron: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: because he's he's the type of player that if you get him back, it could change the whole dynamic of the team, the confidence level. He's that kind of player. And I and the only reason why I say that is because FLINTTOWN: Hold on. Did I hear did did I hear you right? DadBodSportsCards: Micah Parsons. Micah Parsons wants to be a bear. He just got picked by the he just got traded to the Packers because they they included, you know, more first-round picks and everything. But Micah Parsons talks a lot about Caleb for For coming from someone from Green Bay that's a Green Bay player. He talks highly of Caleb more than his own quarterback. So I think in FLINTTOWN: But think about this. So he got traded there, right? They DadBodSportsCards: Mm. FLINTTOWN: gave up all them first round picks. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. I'm all for it. FLINTTOWN: It's not gonna I know. Me Aaron: And Kenny Clark. FLINTTOWN: too. Yeah. So so they gave up all them picks and he just got hurt right last DadBodSportsCards: Mm-hmm. FLINTTOWN: year at the end of the year. He won't be back till later this year. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. Well maybe this well, I mean we're hitting October this week, so maybe by mid October. FLINTTOWN: Yeah. It's gonna take like good four games to even get in game shape. DadBodSportsCards: I yeah, I I I think so too. Yeah. They could be out of it already. Yeah. FLINTTOWN: So they could be out of it. DadBodSportsCards: Yep. And that's what I said in the beginning of the season. That's why I told GNG, like you guys could be like one and six or two and five by the time he comes back. And then if he's not fully ramped up, you can get a couple more losses. Your season's done, right? Yeah. Yeah. FLINTTOWN: Yep. Yep. DadBodSportsCards: I mean he's he'll probably still keep playing, you know, that way it'll be on to the next and then maybe LaFleur's not coach anymore, and who knows where where it's gonna go. You're right. f fuck. I mean d The worst case scenario for us would be Tomlin would go to Green Bay. Like, I wouldn't want that. I don't want another good head coach in the NFC North. I do not want another good c head coach in the NFC North. Cause I think FLINTTOWN: I don't want time one. No. No, I don't know what time one and DadBodSportsCards: I think by now, like I think the NFC North has the best coaching as well. Like the best coaches, maybe. yeah, altogether. All altogether FLINTTOWN: Yeah. I do too. All together. All together. Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: wise. And then maybe even the best, well, I mean, Kyler Murray kind of ruins Jordan Love's not playing well. I would say maybe the quarterbacks was too, but that could be that could change as well. some some week four notes. well at leading into week five with the Bears Packers week next week. two notes from that. The Bears game was at 425 Eastern time. It got flexed to the one o'clock. So what that tells Aaron: Yes. DadBodSportsCards: me is that it's not the game of the week anymore. Either they know that Caleb's not going to be back for Bears Packers, or the Packers are playing so bad that they took them out of the game of the week against the Bears. So it could be, or it could be both. It could be both. We don't know. Caleb's supposed to be out three to four weeks. I hope he's coming back for the Packers game. But if Case Keenum keeps winning, maybe they keep him resting and everything. second note, Flint, I don't know if you saw the text. I know Aaron, you saw it on TikTok. Alan Lazard, who's a former Packer wide receiver, who used to be Aaron Rodgers' favorite wide receiver. He played for the he played for the Packers and they brought him to the Jets. I don't know what other teams he's played for. He was on TikTok and he was talking about Colson Lovelin not stretching for that touchdown play. if you were watching our live stream, Dom reminded me that Ben Johnson coaches do not ever stretch the ball out over because he's afraid if you fumble, it's gonna be a touchback. FLINTTOWN: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: So that's why Loveland didn't do that. So Alan Lazard was talking about that on his TikTok. So I responded with bear down. And then I put fuck the Packers, my fuck the Packers card of Loveland saying fuck the Packers, and he autoed. And Alan Lazard responded to that with that's cute. So I thought it was cool that he responded to it. And at the same time, so I responded back to him, and I'm still waiting to hear back from him. I probably won't, because we all know how the Jenna Jameson thing, I missed my timetable on that. is That al I asked Alan Lazard if he would come on the podcast for 10 to 15 minutes during Bears Packers week. So we're waiting for a response from Alan Lazard. He probably never heard of this podcast, but let's all tag Alan Lazard to have him see this. And maybe we can get a professional athlete on the podcast talking Bears Packers week. Because even though he's a Packers guy, I still want to know what it's like for a player to see what it's like going through that week and everything. I can only hear so much from like the Bears side of it on the news. But if we could actually interview like a Packers player or even a Bears player, for that matter, like to see what it's like Bears, Packers week coming up and everything, like that week, what like how things are different. Like I would love to get FLINTTOWN: It DadBodSportsCards: that perspective. FLINTTOWN: it's the oldest w rivalry in the NFL. So yeah. So it Aaron: yeah. Hundred years. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, yeah, in that phone. Yes. Yeah. It would be cool. Even though like I would tell him, like, fuck Green Bay, and I did with my Colson Loveland autograph card that I posted on his page. But he I just thought it was funny that he's like, That's cute. Like, no, thanks, Alan Lazard. I'll take that. FLINTTOWN: I remember I remember I remember DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, I mean, did he also play for Kansas City? I think he wa Aaron: I don't think so. DadBodSportsCards: I think he was on the Chiefs too for a season. Aaron: Yeah, I it up. FLINTTOWN: I wanna say wasn't he the Jets? DadBodSportsCards: wait, no, that's that's that's that's that's V S. FLINTTOWN: Wasn't he on the Jets? Aaron: He was on the okay, actually, well. He was on the Jags initially and then he went to the Packers in twenty eighteen, then he played for the Jets. DadBodSportsCards: Okay, he went to the Jets because Aaron Rodgers wanted him there. I'm thinking of MVS or S V with the Chiefs. The Chiefs, yeah, that's right. Aaron: His Aaron Rogers were there, yeah. Yeah. MBS to MBS did go to the Chiefs. Funny thing Alan FLINTTOWN: Yep, I remember that. Aaron: Lazard, so you guys know what Wordle is, right? Wordle. So there DadBodSportsCards: No what what is? yeah, yeah, that game, yeah. Aaron: was there was like a football version of it, and I used Alan Lazard as my starting player, like every single time I played. DadBodSportsCards: So you mean for like for the letters? Okay. Aaron: Yeah. Well or it's 'cause like you'll get like there's you'll put a player in, it'll tell you like the position, the the division, the team, the Here's my base player DadBodSportsCards: Okay. So he was your bass player that you would put in. Aaron: every single time. Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: For people that don't know, wordle is like it's you got missing you got you got spaces, you gotta figure out the word and then you type in a word based on the spacing and then it'll give you the letters that you have right, but it could be a mix, like you have a right letter, but it's not in that on that section right Aaron: In the right spot. Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: spot the word it, but it's in that word somewhere. So th I guess this is the football version of it. All right. We went over two hours. I mean, it was a good discussion. Like I said, Sunday night we will live stream the NFC. Excuse me, the NFC Unfiltered Show. we'll have FLINTTOWN: that's gonna be wild. DadBodSportsCards: we'll have the Green Bay game already done. We'll have the Chicago Bears game already done. where's Minnesota? Minnesota plays at four o'clock, so Minnesota's game will be done. So we'll be able to talk about those games while we're watching Detroit and Carolina. The game won't be on here, so I we don't get booted again. But we can watch it on our own devices and we can react live react to it while talking about the NFC North. and then we get to see maybe Flint's right, maybe Flint's. defense can do enough to stop Bryce Young and that Panthers offense. FLINTTOWN: Mm-hmm. Aaron: Okay. FLINTTOWN: Yeah. Kitty cat! DadBodSportsCards: And maybe the lion maybe FLINTTOWN: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: the lions roar will make the Panther like do that little that little noise I just made. I don't know what that is. All I'm gonna say is I'm not a White Sox fan. The White Sox won tonight. I am Japanese, is what everybody's gonna be saying for the White Sox during this playoff run. You guys got anything else? Nope. Nope. No, fuck the Bengals. Aaron: Fuck the bangos. DadBodSportsCards: And as always, like what DJ Moore says, it's always fuck Green Bay. Aaron: Fuck Green Bay. DadBodSportsCards: Fuck the Packers. FLINTTOWN: You know we were live tonight, right? DadBodSportsCards: Huh? FLINTTOWN: You know we were live tonight, right? DadBodSportsCards: No, no, I didn't. Well, no. FLINTTOWN: We're live. DadBodSportsCards: well it's still record why did man, I hope okay. Alright, well we are out. Everybody have a good week. Peace out. Was it live? FLINTTOWN: Later. Aaron: It is life. FLINTTOWN: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: I know it says like
