- 0:05Speaker 1: Welcome into North Side Territory Foul Territory Networks Cubs Podcast.
- 0:09Speaker 1: I'm Sahadev Charma with my partner Patrick Mooney. We are
- 0:12Speaker 1: your Cubs beat writers over at the Athletic and Patrick,
- 0:16Speaker 1: the Cubs are moving on to the NLDS.
- 0:19Speaker 2: That was a hell of a game.
- 0:21Speaker 1: It was tense to the final out, and the fans
- 0:28Speaker 1: were into it from the first pitch. That was a
- 0:32Speaker 1: fun environment. We said it before, like these are fun
- 0:35Speaker 1: environments to be a part of, and you could tell
- 0:37Speaker 1: it was gonna be a fun one because from pitch
- 0:42Speaker 1: one they were on their feet and getting into it.
- 0:46Speaker 1: A three pitch strikeout to get the game going and
- 0:49Speaker 1: they were roaring. And then the celebration afterwards, that's you know,
- 0:55Speaker 1: it's been a while since we've well, I guess, you know,
- 0:58Speaker 1: the clincher that you know to get into the playoffs,
- 1:01Speaker 1: but I wasn't there for that one, so it had
- 1:03Speaker 1: been a while.
- 1:03Speaker 2: It's been a long.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Time since they've celebrated at Wrigley Field. Those are always exciting.
- 1:10Speaker 1: It's just you know, kind of the hard work paying
- 1:14Speaker 1: off for all these guys watching them celebrated, and you know,
- 1:18Speaker 1: it's just a good environment to be around, and now
- 1:21Speaker 1: they head to Milwaukee. But that was that was a
- 1:24Speaker 1: that was a wild series in the sense that one
- 1:27Speaker 1: of those series where it felt like it could have
- 1:30Speaker 1: gone either way and it just kind of like went
- 1:34Speaker 1: the Cub's way, and Cubs fans kind of sigh have
- 1:38Speaker 1: a sigh of relief there.
- 1:40Speaker 3: I think that added to the celebration, and you and
- 1:43Speaker 3: I were I think we're in the clubhouse before we
- 1:47Speaker 3: went back out onto the field, and I think a
- 1:49Speaker 3: Cubs person was like, I did not need that ninth inning,
- 1:53Speaker 3: and we were so busy writing all these elements of
- 1:56Speaker 3: our takeaways, and then the Brewers preview and you look up,
- 2:01Speaker 3: it's like, whoa, they were one swing away from just
- 2:03Speaker 3: absolutely killing the vibes at Wrigley Field, but that didn't happen.
- 2:09Speaker 3: So I think that sigh of relief was part of it,
- 2:12Speaker 3: and also organizationally within the fan base. I don't want
- 2:17Speaker 3: to say Cubs fans were spoiled because they went more
- 2:21Speaker 3: than a century without a World Series title, but fifteen, sixteen, seventeen,
- 2:25Speaker 3: those NLCS trips, I think the franchise sort of took it.
- 2:30Speaker 4: For granted, and.
- 2:33Speaker 3: After waiting several years, to get back to a moment
- 2:37Speaker 3: like this. You can see the looks on people's faces,
- 2:41Speaker 3: the intensity in which they're pouring sparkling wine and beers
- 2:47Speaker 3: on each other. That moment meant a lot to a
- 2:51Speaker 3: lot of people in that locker room and the forty
- 2:56Speaker 3: thousand fans in the stands, and I think you can
- 3:02Speaker 3: interpret that clinching game in that context as well. Of
- 3:06Speaker 3: just there was a lot of nervous energy throughout the week,
- 3:12Speaker 3: and then the Cubs putting pressure on the padres and
- 3:16Speaker 3: getting you Darvish on the ropes really allowed the game
- 3:20Speaker 3: to play out in almost an ideal scenario for the Cubs.
- 3:24Speaker 3: It probably liked a couple more runs the ninth inning,
- 3:26Speaker 3: they didn't need that, But overall, it's kind of how
- 3:30Speaker 3: you script it.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, they pitched so well, they played brilliant defense.
- 3:39Speaker 1: I just cannot emphasize enough how important that was all series.
- 3:46Speaker 2: I think it goes unnoticed. Almost it didn't go unnoticed.
- 3:49Speaker 1: People noticed Dansby Swanson and Nico Horner this series, but
- 3:53Speaker 1: just to you have to understand it, fewer base runners,
- 3:58Speaker 1: fewer pitches, it saves a team. I don't know how
- 4:03Speaker 1: different that that series is with a lesser defensive shortstop
- 4:10Speaker 1: or center fielder or second basement.
- 4:12Speaker 2: It's just a different series.
- 4:14Speaker 1: I don't think the Cubs are advancing without their defense.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Mike Shult said it. Mike Shult said after the game,
- 4:21Speaker 1: you know they don't. Yeah, they don't hand out MVPs
- 4:25Speaker 1: for the wild Card round. But Dansby Swanson was the
- 4:27Speaker 1: Cub's MVP. I think he was zero for four with
- 4:30Speaker 1: three strikeouts in Game three, it didn't matter. He saved
- 4:35Speaker 1: that game in so many different ways. He makes these
- 4:37Speaker 1: plays look simple. They're not always spectacular, but he gets
- 4:40Speaker 1: the job done. Just just really big defense all around
- 4:46Speaker 1: and kind of allowed everything to kind of happen the
- 4:50Speaker 1: way Craig Council wanted it to, the way Tommy Hotteby
- 4:54Speaker 1: hoped it would so they could execute their pitching plan.
- 4:58Speaker 3: I believe Dansby said something along the lines of we
- 5:01Speaker 3: make outs outs, and sometimes it is, you know, the
- 5:07Speaker 3: the eye catching play of the over the shoulder catch
- 5:10Speaker 3: and shalla centerfield, and sometimes it is just what you're saying,
- 5:12Speaker 3: those sort of in between hops hit to one side
- 5:18Speaker 3: or the other and Dansby just smoothly collects it, throws
- 5:22Speaker 3: right on the money to first base that's an out,
- 5:24Speaker 3: or it's the double plays that get turned like all
- 5:27Speaker 3: of that.
- 5:28Speaker 4: It is a cumulative effect.
- 5:30Speaker 3: And you're right, I wrote it in the preview and
- 5:34Speaker 3: I'm guilty of this, like you just kind of take
- 5:36Speaker 3: it for granted, like the ball hit to short you
- 5:38Speaker 3: just start writing like six three or six four three
- 5:40Speaker 3: like it's not But those are not always automatic. And
- 5:46Speaker 3: then the playoffs, when the margins are so small, when
- 5:48Speaker 3: it's these compressed series, you have to convert, and the
- 5:53Speaker 3: Cubs did over and over again.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Daniel Palentia was brilliant again.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Uh I just I did not expect him to be
- 6:04Speaker 1: unleashed in the way that he was.
- 6:06Speaker 2: But his you know, the.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Minor shoulder issue that it turned out to be was
- 6:11Speaker 1: probably a blessing in disguise in the sense that he
- 6:14Speaker 1: got two weeks off, he's fresh.
- 6:17Speaker 2: They can they don't.
- 6:18Speaker 1: He doesn't have to be the closer, he doesn't have
- 6:22Speaker 1: to feel like Craig Council can do that without uh
- 6:25Speaker 1: can remove him from that role without it being like
- 6:28Speaker 1: this big issue. And and now he's this weapon in
- 6:32Speaker 1: the postseason that's just like, Okay, this guy, you know
- 6:37Speaker 1: you you add him to what they have with Keller, Kittridge,
- 6:41Speaker 1: Pomerants and Theobar.
- 6:43Speaker 2: It's a formidable it's a formidable.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Group and and it it proved to be just a huge,
- 6:48Speaker 1: huge piece of the puzzle, uh on uh, you know,
- 6:52Speaker 1: for three games and and we'll see, we'll see how
- 6:54Speaker 1: they unleash the group in the post I mean in
- 6:57Speaker 1: the in the NLDS and beyond if they make it,
- 7:00Speaker 1: because you have to use it slightly differently.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Uh. And it was all set up.
- 7:05Speaker 1: By by Jameson Tyne. Who is are who we're gonna
- 7:10Speaker 1: put under the draft Gings player spotlight, all right, Patrick
- 7:19Speaker 1: Jameson Tyne not going to be the guy that gets
- 7:23Speaker 1: all the headlines, not someone that yeah, he doesn't he
- 7:32Speaker 1: you know, he's not the ace of the staff. He's
- 7:34Speaker 1: a little unheralded and he even knows it and he's
- 7:36Speaker 1: fine with it. He's a team leader, he he It
- 7:40Speaker 1: was just like four innings of arguably some of the
- 7:43Speaker 1: best stuff he's had. And he said it after that
- 7:46Speaker 1: after that strikeout, he's never heard a ballpark that loud before,
- 7:51Speaker 1: and and it was it was fun to watch him.
- 7:53Speaker 1: His change up is new for this season. Kick change.
- 7:57Speaker 2: It was nasty, his sweeper struggled at the beginning of
- 8:01Speaker 2: the season. It was back Jamison.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Tyne is just a huge piece of this puzzle, and
- 8:05Speaker 1: he set everything up to work on Thursday night, Thursday evening, whatever.
- 8:11Speaker 2: It was.
- 8:14Speaker 4: Very symbolic of how this team was.
- 8:16Speaker 3: Built and how it forged an identity of Jameson Tyne's
- 8:23Speaker 3: free agent. The Cubs are in this in between stage,
- 8:26Speaker 3: remember the Cubs signing him, and people from other organizations
- 8:30Speaker 3: at that winter meetings to use, you know, the scouting
- 8:35Speaker 3: parlance is like this guy's eighty makeup or this guy's
- 8:39Speaker 3: a ten, just in terms of how he conducts himself,
- 8:45Speaker 3: how he helps out other pitchers, how he maintains a
- 8:50Speaker 3: sense of calm and professionalism. We've seen that it's not
- 8:56Speaker 3: always glamorous, but for people in that room, that is
- 9:01Speaker 3: very much appreciated. So I think having a moment like
- 9:05Speaker 3: that was was sort of fitting for Tyne, who remembered
- 9:10Speaker 3: coming up with the Padres at a time when the
- 9:12Speaker 3: Cubs were the team in Major League Baseball, you know,
- 9:18Speaker 3: thinking back to kind of fifteen sixteen seventeen. I mean
- 9:20Speaker 3: Tyone remembered seeing what Brigley was like. I mean he
- 9:23Speaker 3: talked to Anthony Rizzo before signing with the Cubs. There
- 9:26Speaker 3: were teammates in New York and yeah, when you readjust
- 9:32Speaker 3: your expectations for the playoffs, to have your starter do that,
- 9:37Speaker 3: it's amazing. And you saw how rattled the Padres were yesterday,
- 9:40Speaker 3: and you Darvish, we talked about him on the prior episode,
- 9:44Speaker 3: just a fantastic career, one of the most interesting people
- 9:48Speaker 3: you know, we've covered, but he.
- 9:50Speaker 4: Just hasn't had it recently.
- 9:53Speaker 3: And you know, his postseason track record for a lot
- 9:55Speaker 3: of reasons is a little little spotty there. And you
- 9:59Speaker 3: could just tell the Padres were all of a sudden
- 10:02Speaker 3: out of their element, whereas the Cubs were just very,
- 10:05Speaker 3: very orderly and had it play out, you know, exactly
- 10:10Speaker 3: as they mapped it out.
- 10:11Speaker 1: Yeah, they didn't have The Padres didn't have the same
- 10:15Speaker 1: bullpen they had on Wednesday. They just couldn't They couldn't
- 10:18Speaker 1: do it the same way. Darvish didn't go deep enough, Darbish,
- 10:22Speaker 1: didn't pitch well enough. And you know, great career, Hall
- 10:26Speaker 1: of fame, borderline hall of fame career probably, and I
- 10:30Speaker 1: you know, a ton of respect for the guy, but
- 10:33Speaker 1: he didn't like I just had a feeling the Cubs
- 10:35Speaker 1: could get to him.
- 10:36Speaker 2: The Cubs probably should have put a lot more runs
- 10:39Speaker 2: on the board.
- 10:39Speaker 1: And that's that's you know, it's part of playoff baseball.
- 10:44Speaker 1: It's part of baseball in general. Sometimes the hits aren't
- 10:47Speaker 1: gonna come in the big situations. But they did a
- 10:50Speaker 1: good job on offense. They need to come up with
- 10:52Speaker 1: the big hits more often. We can talk about that
- 10:54Speaker 1: next segment, but I just you know, I think it's
- 10:59Speaker 1: important that show what would you know, talk about what
- 11:02Speaker 1: James and Tyne did. Uh, He's going to be needed
- 11:05Speaker 1: for more going forward. All these guys are. It's not
- 11:09Speaker 1: going to be four innings going forward unless something goes wrong,
- 11:12Speaker 1: because it's a this was a different series. How to
- 11:16Speaker 1: Be said it. Council said it. You're trying to win
- 11:18Speaker 1: two games. You do whatever you can. And that lineup
- 11:21Speaker 1: kind of set it up perfectly. The lineup construction of
- 11:25Speaker 1: the padres with that pocket of three lefties, that's a
- 11:28Speaker 1: perfect time you pull your right handed starter and go
- 11:32Speaker 1: to your lefty that you trust.
- 11:35Speaker 2: It's set up well. It worked to perfection.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Uh. Credit to council, credit to how to Be, and
- 11:41Speaker 1: credit to the pitchers. For for doing their jobs. I mean,
- 11:44Speaker 1: Keller made it interesting there in the ninth the ump
- 11:47Speaker 1: gave him a call. That's that's that's part of baseball
- 11:50Speaker 1: as well, and at least at least for now and
- 11:56Speaker 1: and uh and and you know, Kittridge came in and
- 11:59Speaker 1: cleaned up, cleaned it up and sent them to the
- 12:02Speaker 1: n LDS.
- 12:03Speaker 2: It was.
- 12:03Speaker 1: It was a It was one of those nights that
- 12:06Speaker 1: you know it maybe not like the National Series, maybe
- 12:10Speaker 1: not maybe a touch less intense, but that this was.
- 12:15Speaker 1: This was a fun one. This was a fun series.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Now let's head it. Send it over to producer Jeremy
- 12:22Speaker 1: for our North Side Territory DraftKings pick.
- 12:24Speaker 5: Thanks Ahta for the North Side Territory producer pick. I'm
- 12:28Speaker 5: taking the Cubs money line. In Game one, Chicago knocked

- 13:46Speaker 1: Patrick five game set against the Brewers starts on Saturday
- 13:52Speaker 1: in Milwaukee.
- 13:53Speaker 2: Is gonna be fun?
- 13:54Speaker 1: I mean Cardinals five game set in twenty fifteen, m R.
- 14:01Speaker 1: That one was intense. I don't know, this feels a
- 14:05Speaker 1: little different. I don't like this. Rivalry is ramped up
- 14:08Speaker 1: right now the Cubs want My guess is both teams
- 14:14Speaker 1: wanted this in a sense like want to face each other.
- 14:17Speaker 2: Certainly the Cubs wanted this. I don't you know. I
- 14:22Speaker 2: don't have a great feeling.
- 14:24Speaker 1: I still haven't decided what I'm picking here, but this
- 14:27Speaker 1: is it's gonna be fun.
- 14:28Speaker 2: These are evenly matched teams.
- 14:31Speaker 1: The Brewers do it in a way that's not as
- 14:36Speaker 1: exciting and maybe not as traditional or as effective in
- 14:43Speaker 1: the playoffs because they don't have the sluggers. They don't
- 14:45Speaker 1: have guys that hit home runs, so a lot of
- 14:48Speaker 1: people are going to be picking against the Brewers. The
- 14:50Speaker 1: Cubs have sluggers. But the Brewers and the Cubs do
- 14:54Speaker 1: this too. They play great defense, they have a good bullpen,
- 14:57Speaker 1: they have really good base running, they have you know,
- 15:03Speaker 1: defined characteristics they look for.
- 15:05Speaker 2: This is who this team is. You know who they are. Uh,
- 15:09Speaker 2: and they're tremendously good. They're not, They're not.
- 15:12Speaker 1: They didn't sneak into the playoffs. They have the best
- 15:15Speaker 1: record in baseball. They're they're a really good team, and
- 15:19Speaker 1: they they're they have a chance to make a World
- 15:21Speaker 1: Series run. The Cubs don't want that to happen. And
- 15:25Speaker 1: I think this is like and then I'm bearing the
- 15:28Speaker 1: lead here. Craig Council returns to Milwaukee once again, now
- 15:32Speaker 1: for the postseason. Uh, this is this is gonna be
- 15:35Speaker 1: a fun one.
- 15:37Speaker 3: I can't wait for that moment when they show Craig's
- 15:40Speaker 3: face up on the board and just everyone starts booing.
- 15:45Speaker 3: I will imagine, I will say that, I'd imagine there'll
- 15:49Speaker 3: be a fair amount of Cubs fans there, but still
- 15:56Speaker 3: it'll be deafening just to hear the reaction. And it's
- 16:01Speaker 3: always funny to watch Counsel's reactions to this. I think
- 16:06Speaker 3: part of him gets a kick out of it. Just
- 16:10Speaker 3: I think that's how he's sort of coped with this.
- 16:14Speaker 3: You know, him and his family very Midwestern kind of
- 16:22Speaker 3: it is ironic that someone who grew up a couple
- 16:26Speaker 3: miles from this stadium, and whose dad worked for the Brewers,
- 16:29Speaker 3: and who gave a lot of himself to build that
- 16:36Speaker 3: small market team into something a lot more, is you know,
- 16:39Speaker 3: vilified where he still lives. I mean, just just all
- 16:43Speaker 3: of it is going to be great. Theater that comes
- 16:49Speaker 3: Cardinals series. I felt more like kind of historic, of
- 16:52Speaker 3: just kind of how the Cardinals had really just you know,
- 16:55Speaker 3: dominated and set a stand for a while. This is
- 16:57Speaker 3: just I think a lot more personal and kind of
- 17:02Speaker 3: in your face.
- 17:03Speaker 4: I'm with you.
- 17:04Speaker 3: I don't think it'll be easy, but I mean there's
- 17:09Speaker 3: no reason for the Cubs to be like intimidated at
- 17:13Speaker 3: all about this. And I also think, you know, one
- 17:17Speaker 3: of the things to watch will be here of the
- 17:20Speaker 3: Cubs survived a really tough series against the Padres. They
- 17:25Speaker 3: faced some great pitchers and they advanced. And the Brewers
- 17:31Speaker 3: have been sitting at home for a while now. They
- 17:36Speaker 3: will go almost a full week in between games, and
- 17:40Speaker 3: even those games they were playing at the end of
- 17:42Speaker 3: September were sort of meaningless. I believe they clinched the
- 17:44Speaker 3: division on September twenty first, So you're talking about that juice,
- 17:52Speaker 3: that edge that you need every single day as a
- 17:54Speaker 3: major league players. It's hard to just flip that on
- 18:00Speaker 3: and off. And you know, we'll see if that plays
- 18:06Speaker 3: a factor. I think you've seen in previous postseasons the
- 18:09Speaker 3: teams that get bounced early. I think I want to
- 18:11Speaker 3: say the Braves a couple of years ago, maybe even
- 18:13Speaker 3: the Phillies last year. Of Like the Phillies when they
- 18:16Speaker 3: made that World Series run, wasn't it kind of like
- 18:18Speaker 3: all right? They were in an elimination mode like right away,
- 18:21Speaker 3: and they carried it.
- 18:24Speaker 4: We'll see rest versus rust how that plays out.
- 18:27Speaker 1: Yeah, it's really hard to to really measure that in
- 18:32Speaker 1: any way and and understand that because it's not it's
- 18:35Speaker 1: not some number, uh, And you just don't know how
- 18:38Speaker 1: it's going to impact them until you see the games unfold.
- 18:41Speaker 1: And then we're also just projecting. I don't know, I like,
- 18:45Speaker 1: did they just did the did the other team just
- 18:47Speaker 1: pitch really well? Or were those hitters cold? I would
- 18:49Speaker 1: say this, the Cubs bats were a little rusty entering
- 18:54Speaker 1: that series against the Padres that I think that had
- 18:58Speaker 1: to do with the Padres. Like I said yesterday or
- 19:00Speaker 1: whenever we recorded last, I said this, I thought those
- 19:05Speaker 1: first two matchups with the starters were just bad, bad,
- 19:08Speaker 1: bad for the Cubs. Nasty pictures with the stuff that
- 19:13Speaker 1: they have and the like up in the zone, breaking balls,
- 19:17Speaker 1: they just really hard. I mean, you can scratch a
- 19:19Speaker 1: few across you missed the like they did.
- 19:21Speaker 2: They did.
- 19:22Speaker 1: They gotten up in Game one, but Peralta's the only
- 19:27Speaker 1: one that is like intimidating like that. I don't want
- 19:31Speaker 1: to discount these pictures. I'm not saying that the Cubs
- 19:34Speaker 1: are gonna tee off on them, but that's the only
- 19:39Speaker 1: guy where it's like, oh, this guy is nasty stuff.
- 19:41Speaker 1: This guy is, you know, a cy Young caliber pitcher.
- 19:45Speaker 1: You could say the same about the Cubs, though you
- 19:47Speaker 1: could say the same thing about the Cubs. I just
- 19:50Speaker 1: think Tucker looked so much better the final few at
- 19:54Speaker 1: bats a Game two, and then obviously in Game three,
- 19:57Speaker 1: PCA all.
- 19:59Speaker 2: About confidence guy.
- 20:00Speaker 1: You know, you get him feeling good and he had
- 20:03Speaker 1: some hard hit balls that what did you end up
- 20:07Speaker 1: with two or three hits? I think getting that yeah, yeah,
- 20:11Speaker 1: And you know, even even Halp who was really struggling
- 20:15Speaker 1: that series ended with a nice double there.
- 20:19Speaker 2: I believe.
- 20:21Speaker 1: There were some good signs for the offense. I think
- 20:24Speaker 1: they didn't break out fully with the runs. Thirteen hits
- 20:29Speaker 1: is a big deal in my mind. Michael Bush ended
- 20:33Speaker 1: the season on a tear. I think he had really
- 20:36Speaker 1: good at bats all series long against the Padres. Here's
- 20:41Speaker 1: my I was thinking about this on the drive home.
- 20:44Speaker 1: I don't I think I'm taking the Cubs in this series.
- 20:50Speaker 1: And this is my random prediction. There will be one
- 20:53Speaker 1: game that the Cubs score more runs in that game
- 20:57Speaker 1: than they did the tirety of the Padres series. Uh
- 21:01Speaker 1: so that's six six runs they're gonna score. There's gonna
- 21:04Speaker 1: be a game where they score seven or more. I
- 21:07Speaker 1: just I think the bats, uh, they're they're just better matchups.
- 21:12Speaker 1: The bullpen is good for the Breweries. Not great like
- 21:15Speaker 1: previous years, but there's some good arms in there, just
- 21:19Speaker 1: not as intimidating of starters, and in the playoffs that matters.
- 21:22Speaker 2: And the offense for the Brewers is good.
- 21:25Speaker 1: They do a lot of things well and maybe they
- 21:28Speaker 1: get hot at the right time.
- 21:30Speaker 2: Baseball is weird.
- 21:30Speaker 1: I'm not saying it's this is gonna be a cake
- 21:32Speaker 1: walk but I think the Cubs come out on top,
- 21:35Speaker 1: and I think they score.
- 21:36Speaker 2: Some runs this series. Uh, and they have enough pitching.
- 21:40Speaker 2: I'm curious who who Council goes.
- 21:43Speaker 1: With Tomorrow Saturday, and it's probably, like I'm in my head,
- 21:47Speaker 1: I'm leaning aside, but maybe it's Colin Ray.
- 21:49Speaker 2: He's been so good to end the season.
- 21:52Speaker 1: And basically Wednesday was like his side session, you know,
- 21:55Speaker 1: his bullpen day.
- 21:58Speaker 3: Yeah, i mean Colin Ray is someone who was left
- 22:00Speaker 3: off of Milwaukee's postseason roster last year. I'm sure he's
- 22:05Speaker 3: he's similar to Council and that he's pretty self contained,
- 22:11Speaker 3: you know, somewhat dry, monotone, but a very sharp observer,
- 22:18Speaker 3: you know, whenever you get to talk to him, And
- 22:21Speaker 3: I'm sure he would love that opportunity.
- 22:24Speaker 4: You're right.
- 22:25Speaker 3: I was looking back the game by games we were there.
- 22:30Speaker 3: Cubs did break out with a couple put some big
- 22:32Speaker 3: numbers on the board against the Brewers in a couple
- 22:34Speaker 3: of games. I want to say they outscored the Brewers
- 22:36Speaker 3: like sixty to fifty six on the season, but there
- 22:38Speaker 3: might have been like two games there where they scored
- 22:41Speaker 3: ten runs a piece something like that. And yeah, I
- 22:46Speaker 3: mean we had a little bit of a taste of
- 22:48Speaker 3: this with that five games and four days at Wrigley
- 22:53Speaker 3: when the when the Brewers just kind of staved off
- 22:55Speaker 3: the Cubs and maintained control of the division race. So
- 23:00Speaker 3: a lot of familiarity, a lot of tension, and I
- 23:09Speaker 3: feel like we're due for one of those wacky games,
- 23:13Speaker 3: Like every playoff game can't be three to one, three nothing, right, Yeah,
- 23:17Speaker 3: some thing's going to happen, especially in a place like
- 23:21Speaker 3: I was about to call it Miller Park American Family Field,
- 23:24Speaker 3: And thinking of all those back and forth games we've seen,
- 23:27Speaker 3: they're always scrambling to rewrite. I think Justin Steele described
- 23:31Speaker 3: one of those games as like that game was drunk
- 23:34Speaker 3: a couple of years ago, and it was a.
- 23:36Speaker 4: Very apt description. And I'm sure that's what we'll be
- 23:40Speaker 4: walking into here this weekend.
- 23:42Speaker 2: Yeah, well we'll see.
- 23:44Speaker 1: You know, I'm curious who council starts. The Brewers are
- 23:49Speaker 1: down brandon Woodriff, not sure if they know they don't there.
- 23:53Speaker 1: I was thinking of another team there. I think that's
- 23:57Speaker 1: their main injury, their biggest injury. And then we'll get
- 24:02Speaker 1: hopefully some sort of update on Kate Horton. I'm guessing
- 24:06Speaker 1: he's not coming back. He's not going to come back
- 24:09Speaker 1: for Game five. That's the earliest he can come back.
- 24:12Speaker 1: The best case scenario, and we you know, we'll spend
- 24:15Speaker 1: more time on this the more information we get. The
- 24:17Speaker 1: best case scenario, in my mind, as he comes back
- 24:20Speaker 1: for the NLCS, if the Cubs get that far. So
- 24:23Speaker 1: we can think about that later. But it's something we
- 24:25Speaker 1: need to get more information.
- 24:26Speaker 2: On and we can.
- 24:27Speaker 1: We'll update you guys as soon as we have that information.
- 24:31Speaker 1: I'm looking forward to this series. This type of stuff
- 24:34Speaker 1: is fun. The Cardinals series in fifteen was fun. This
- 24:37Speaker 1: is going to be intense. There's no doubt that Brewers
- 24:41Speaker 1: fans are going to be into it. I think there's
- 24:43Speaker 1: going to be a decent amount of Cubs fans. I
- 24:45Speaker 1: got a lot of text from friends last night already
- 24:47Speaker 1: tickets purchase. That's pretty cool. And you know, Wrigley we'll
- 24:52Speaker 1: be rocking on Wednesday?
- 24:54Speaker 2: Is that right?
- 24:55Speaker 1: Wednesday? I think it's going to be a lot of fun.
- 24:58Speaker 1: I'm excited to cover it, uh excited to bring you
- 25:02Speaker 1: all more information and more podcasts here.
- 25:04Speaker 2: We'll we'll have at least a couple.
- 25:07Speaker 1: More as far as h as far as this season goes,
- 25:11Speaker 1: as far as talking about games, uh and and hopefully
- 25:14Speaker 1: a lot more because it's been a fun run and
- 25:17Speaker 1: this team has been fun to cover. I've enjoyed it.
- 25:20Speaker 1: So we'll see how far they.
- 25:22Speaker 2: Can take it.
- 25:24Speaker 1: And and this like, there's nothing better than rivals in
- 25:26Speaker 1: the postseason. You know, you just saw Yankees Red Sox.
- 25:29Speaker 1: I think Cubbs Brewers is pretty has gotten in my
- 25:33Speaker 1: in my mind watching the games. Maybe it's just as
- 25:36Speaker 1: simple as they're two good teams. It's overtaking Cubs Cardinals.
- 25:40Speaker 1: But you know, history wise, obviously it's not there, but
- 25:43Speaker 1: it just feels like with the council stuff, and and
- 25:46Speaker 1: you know, these teams won two in the division. It's
- 25:49Speaker 1: pretty intense and there's no love loss there. It's it's
- 25:53Speaker 1: it's a it's a fun matchup. So we'll see what happens.
- 25:56Speaker 1: Patrick will be back at it. I don't know what
- 25:59Speaker 1: are recording schedule will be like, but we'll be what.
- 26:01Speaker 3: Day is today, I don't even know what day it is,
- 26:04Speaker 3: just you know, you're in that postseason house.
- 26:07Speaker 1: I'm looking at my house right now and it's a
- 26:09Speaker 1: disaster because I've barely been here. So maybe I'll clean
- 26:12Speaker 1: up a little before heading to Milwaukee, but we'll worry
- 26:16Speaker 1: about that in the off season. All right, everyone, thanks
- 26:18Speaker 1: so much for listening. This is north Side Territory. Make

- 26:36Speaker 1: Thanks everyone, take care.
- 27:00Speaker 5: The ban longer
