- 0:59Speaker 1: Austin at the NFL SNcom.
- 1:02Speaker 1: We're going to go over the rankings first, so keep it locked.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Let's get started.
- 1:16Speaker 1: All right, the rankings were out.
- 1:17Speaker 1: Jimmy Reno's with me.
- 1:23Speaker 2: No change.
- 1:24Speaker 1: No change.
- 1:25Speaker 1: He did start talking about scenarios where FSU gets left out, of course, but you remember back 10 years ago in Florida State was the defending national champions.
- 1:39Speaker 1: They were undefeated.
- 1:44Speaker 2: More importantly than defending national champions.
- 1:46Speaker 2: They were pre-season number one.
- 1:48Speaker 2: They started this season number one and went a few weeks into the season as number one, then went the entire regular season undefeated but still finished behind two teams that had a loss.
- 2:01Speaker 2: What I maintain is that you know you've never seen that before in college football and you're not going to see it again.
- 2:09Speaker 2: So anybody that's dismissive of any kind of scenario where Florida State gets squeezed out for a one loss big 10 team needs to just kind of Well you know, it's just hard to believe that they'd had undefeated.
- 2:23Speaker 1: So I thought yes, if the you know, if the records are the same, then you can start all these game control thing.
- 2:29Speaker 1: But the first thing should be wins and losses Right.
- 2:32Speaker 1: So until if that, that just would be.
- 2:36Speaker 1: That would be if Alabama would win out and beat a top ranked Georgia team at the end and SEC champ.
- 2:42Speaker 1: But then everyone's saying you can't have Alabama jump Texas.
- 2:46Speaker 1: So if Texas is a one loss team, the big 12 champ, if you have those two teams, maybe Florida State would be the odd man out if there was two other undefeated power fives.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Correct.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Correct and that's ridiculous.
- 3:00Speaker 1: So you could, because Washington would play Oregon, who's ranked high, so you need Louisville to win out if you're Florida State.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Right, you know the LSU game has been diminished in people's eyes because of the games that they've lost.
- 3:15Speaker 2: I'll point out that they've they've lost games to top 10 teams.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Right, you know they've played Florida State.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Ole Miss and Alabama, jaden Daniels.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Still, they made Jaden Daniels look the worst that he has all season.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I would say in that second half and that's.
- 3:30Speaker 2: I think that's something that, no matter how you know, no matter where LSU finishes the season, when it comes down to it, if Florida State goes undefeated and Alabama wins out with one loss, they do have a common opponent that you can look at at LSU.
- 3:47Speaker 2: So they, you know, it's not like Florida State's going to win.
- 3:52Speaker 1: They just need to win out.
- 3:53Speaker 2: They're not going to, and that's, that's the thing, man.
- 3:55Speaker 1: It doesn't change.
- 3:55Speaker 1: It's a rivalry week, it's Miami week.
- 3:58Speaker 2: This doesn't nothing matters except the fact that you're playing Miami.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Right, that's all that matters, yeah, and people on the outside you know aren't going to look at oh you lost to an unranked team or you want you beat an unranked team at home.
- 4:11Speaker 1: It doesn't matter, it's a rivalry game.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:15Speaker 1: And you know if you, even though you're in the ACC championship, if you were to lose these next two games, it's a failure of a season.
- 4:22Speaker 1: You know because there's a lot of people that look at when a successful season For a lot of.
- 4:29Speaker 1: What do you do against Miami and Florida first?
- 4:30Speaker 1: Yeah, for a lot of fans.
- 4:32Speaker 2: For a lot of fans it will be my fan hood.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Like me being a fan.
- 4:36Speaker 2: The fan side of me said before the season like you lose to Miami and it's a failed season and that I still feel that way, obviously that's.
- 4:45Speaker 2: You know Florida is whatever you're playing in Gainesville and that you know it's.
- 4:49Speaker 2: But Miami's coming here, their roster isn't better than yours and I said before the season, if both rosters are healthy and the same going into speculation speculation coming up, we're speculating right now.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Okay.
- 5:07Speaker 1: It's going to happen Well, to a playoff that hasn't happened going undefeated.
- 5:10Speaker 1: We're having getting jumped by one last team.
- 5:14Speaker 1: That hasn't happened yet.
- 5:15Speaker 1: You know, we're just getting ahead of ourselves.
- 5:18Speaker 2: Yeah, that's that's that you know?
- 5:19Speaker 2: Yeah, that's getting ahead of ourselves.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Like we said, we got to focus on Miami.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Yeah, well, you know, I saw that Jordan, that Johnny Wilson was back at practice.
- 5:30Speaker 1: That's great news because I, you know, keon Coleman, I think, is the better draft prospect, I guess.
- 5:36Speaker 1: But when it comes to Jordan Travis and that chemistry, he doesn't get better than Johnny Wilson, right.
- 5:45Speaker 2: And I'll point to one play, specifically from the pit game, where it would have been nice to have Johnny Wilson, um Jeheem Bell, running across the field on a crossing round Big time.
- 5:57Speaker 2: No, even even pointed it out as the play happened and you know there was an incompletion that he missed it.
- 6:02Speaker 2: It was a touchdown Bell just wasn't quite fast enough to get to the ball.
- 6:07Speaker 2: It was wide open, I think.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Johnny Wilson right there, that's that's been what he's been used as is kind of clearing that middle of the field and yeah, you're missing them.
- 6:16Speaker 2: You know there's, there's points being left on the board, drives that are stolen out because he's not out there, I think, and you want to have Keon Coleman back.
- 6:25Speaker 2: That's your big NFL, your big play down downfield threat.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Um, but Johnny Wilson is is easily one B right there.
- 6:34Speaker 1: I mean sometime.
- 6:35Speaker 1: I mean I'd really think the he's the go to guy like the comfort blanket for Jordan Travis.
- 6:43Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, Because he's been there long, yeah, and it may he's.
- 6:47Speaker 2: He's got the most experience with Travis Um, so it makes sense.
- 6:50Speaker 2: It just you know.
- 6:52Speaker 2: I think you're right.
- 6:54Speaker 2: I think for Florida state to ultimately run the table and do what we hope they do, they're going to have to have both Coleman and Wilson.
- 7:02Speaker 1: And then I heard someone else bring it up on a Danny Cannell show the same thing we just talked about about.
- 7:09Speaker 1: I think they're just trolling Danny but no, it's definitely.
- 7:13Speaker 2: it's definitely.
- 7:13Speaker 2: I mean, if you, start thinking about it.
- 7:15Speaker 1: I mean it's the people that you, alabama looks really good right now.
- 7:19Speaker 1: And if they were to win and beat beat Georgia in the SEC championship the number one team being the SEC champion it's hard to imagine them being on the outside looking in and having like getting jumped by the big 12 champ.
- 7:33Speaker 1: So it's almost like well, you have to put them both in but, no, you know right.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Cause, then?
- 7:39Speaker 1: Cause then you couldn't have Alabama be in the four seed of floors, you know, and having them jump Texas, cause they have to head to head.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Again, there's always going to be ways to break it down.
- 7:51Speaker 1: What are you looking at?
- 7:52Speaker 1: Resume, or who's the best team at the time?
- 7:54Speaker 2: For me, I'm with you.
- 7:55Speaker 2: If you're gonna start comparing resumes to teams with different records, then it becomes a sneaky line.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Like where do you stop?
- 8:05Speaker 2: Where do you stop?
- 8:06Speaker 1: Well, you know, they kind of brought up the BCS formula but they kind of mocked it.
- 8:11Speaker 1: But what they didn't talk about is like how it was used back in the day, was used for only two teams, you know.
- 8:18Speaker 1: So like if you just used it for more being more inclusive, I think you got to give it.
- 8:25Speaker 1: I think it might work.
- 8:27Speaker 1: There's, it's a machine, maybe it takes out, you know.
- 8:32Speaker 2: I'm fairly certain that.
- 8:34Speaker 1: I know one.
- 8:34Speaker 1: If I was on that committee, I would want to know what those rankings would be, just to know as a reference.
- 8:39Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Yeah, they bet they do.
- 8:42Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure they still referenced them.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Because I mean especially next year when you get to 12 teams.
- 8:48Speaker 1: But you know this will be this is the last season at four teams.
- 8:53Speaker 1: 10 years ago Florida State made it to the national championship in the last BCS, the last crystal ball.
- 9:00Speaker 1: They made it there.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Maybe they can hopefully if you're an FSU fan get to the playoff.
- 9:06Speaker 1: It's gonna.
- 9:07Speaker 1: You need to win four games.
- 9:10Speaker 2: Yeah, you can need to win four games.
- 9:12Speaker 2: You need to continue to have a few lucky breaks along the way.
- 9:16Speaker 2: I mean, it's hard to go undefeated.
- 9:18Speaker 2: Man Again, you know, regular season, they've done it.
- 9:21Speaker 2: What.
- 9:21Speaker 2: Three times in the history of the program, you know, won a title only twice.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Two rivalry games yeah, you got.
- 9:28Speaker 1: It's just nothing more than Miami or Florida want to do is to ruin the season.
- 9:35Speaker 2: Yeah well, ruin your national title hopes.
- 9:36Speaker 2: You know you can't.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Ruin your ACC title hopes.
- 9:39Speaker 2: You know you want to ruin Florida State's shot at getting in the playoff, and losing to either one of them would do that.
- 9:46Speaker 2: You know, if you lose at this point in the season, you're pretty much cooked.
- 9:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:51Speaker 2: As far as playoff goes.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Well, florida State has no room for error when it comes to losing a game.
- 9:58Speaker 1: We knew that, though they're taking on Miami this week, it's 14 and a half 50 over here Way too high.
- 10:07Speaker 1: So yeah, I take it, you're taking Miami to win.
- 10:12Speaker 2: I mean win the money, win the spread.
- 10:14Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I don't keep it.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Keep it close.
- 10:16Speaker 1: I don't know I could see this game being close and then Florida State getting that in the second half.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Maybe you know I just you know I've traumatized as a child by this game going on at Doe Campbell, like this was one of my worst sports experiences when I was growing up.
- 10:35Speaker 1: Yeah, but this is not your childhood.
- 10:37Speaker 1: I know, I know that was one of the best teams in College football history.
- 10:40Speaker 2: It was just two of the best teams, yeah, two of the best teams.
- 10:42Speaker 2: And the thing I don't know about Miami is you know which Tyler Van Dyke is gonna come into Doe Campbell?
- 10:51Speaker 2: I'm not totally convinced that.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Like half the time he's going out there and just doesn't give a shit Like he.
- 10:56Speaker 2: You know that's his body language, but he's a kid that if you get him on the road and pissed off, maybe he starts doing what he did against Texas A&M, where he looked like a kid that was gonna work his way into the first round as a QB pick.
- 11:09Speaker 2: You know, coming up Like he balled out against Jimbo.
- 11:12Speaker 2: You know they don't win that game if he's not playing quarterback.
- 11:16Speaker 1: Right, well, they have talent.
- 11:17Speaker 1: They have talent at the receiver position, Colby Young.
- 11:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:22Speaker 1: Restrepo George.
- 11:23Speaker 2: Restrepo.
- 11:24Speaker 2: I mean that's kind of been a knock, is that he goes to Restrepo a little bit, I think?
- 11:28Speaker 2: But yeah, they definitely have talent at wide receiver.
- 11:31Speaker 2: They got good running backs.
- 11:33Speaker 2: Their offensive line is big, it moves people around.
- 11:36Speaker 1: They struggled last week, but yeah.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Pitt struggled the week before we're playing Florida State, you're gonna see the struggle.
- 11:45Speaker 1: People are going to rally the troops when they play Florida State, especially Miami.
- 11:51Speaker 1: If there was ever a time, this is gonna be the time that they bring the effort.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Now we'll see.
- 11:58Speaker 1: If they're not able to, they're gonna have to have.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Number one.
- 12:03Speaker 2: It's a much better coached defense at Miami.
- 12:07Speaker 2: They're just worlds better on that side of the ball than they were last year and they have a player in Reuben Bain that brings that powerful explosiveness on the front line, which is, you know, that's something to deal with and really there's struggles.
- 12:25Speaker 2: Last week you can point to really just Van Dyke, just the quarterback play, as being why they could not get it done on the road.
- 12:33Speaker 2: So again, I think 14 is too high for this Just being a rivalry game, just being Miami, miami.
- 12:41Speaker 2: I think you know they're gonna come in and do what Mario likes to do, which is try to control the ball, control the line of scrimmage, run.
- 12:48Speaker 2: So I don't know, I think it's a little too high.
- 12:54Speaker 2: I like Miami cover.
- 12:55Speaker 2: I'm calling it a toss up man.
- 12:56Speaker 2: I mean, it's the pessimism in me.
- 13:00Speaker 1: You know, I think, if she covers actually well, there you go.
- 13:04Speaker 2: I mean, this is definitely pessimism for you.
- 13:06Speaker 2: I mean this is.
- 13:08Speaker 1: you're just a little scared, little kid man when it comes to this, when it comes to playing him.
- 13:11Speaker 2: I harken back to.
- 13:12Speaker 2: You know all the weird.
- 13:14Speaker 2: You know Corey Sawyer trying to field the punt in 92 and you know all you gotta do is just let it bounce, man.
- 13:20Speaker 1: No, I think.
- 13:21Speaker 1: I think initially Miami will come out and keep it competitive, but I think Florida State wins by about 17 and we'll give you a score later in the week.
- 13:32Speaker 1: We're going to preview this game, but we got games to pick and it starts Thursday night.
- 13:40Speaker 2: Sneaky big one here, man Match up.
- 13:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I know Well Louisville controls their destiny to go to Charlotte and if they can get.
- 13:48Speaker 1: We talked about Louisville yesterday with Chris Cotter.
- 13:51Speaker 1: You know he was raving about how the then being a complete team, then being the only shot to challenge floor stay.
- 14:00Speaker 1: I agree.
- 14:00Speaker 1: You know we've seen the vulnerabilities of North Carolina, miami and other contenders.
- 14:06Speaker 1: Louisville can run the football and they have past rushers on the defensive side.
- 14:11Speaker 1: They are getting 20 and a half, so it looks like Vegas is starting to respect the Cardinals too.
- 14:17Speaker 1: How do you who you got?
- 14:20Speaker 2: I got Louisville.
- 14:21Speaker 2: I think they cover Virginia.
- 14:24Speaker 2: I just don't think they have enough experience to be able to make it a trap game for Louisville.
- 14:29Speaker 2: It's also at home, so that that's going to help.
- 14:32Speaker 2: Now, the game next week that they have against Miami, down in, you know, hard Rock Stadium, that may be the trap game.
- 14:41Speaker 2: The quote unquote trap game.
- 14:43Speaker 1: And then yeah for Louisville, and then this week.
- 14:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I got him covering, so you got a.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Yeah, I got.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Louisville, big over Virginia.
- 14:51Speaker 1: All right, here comes Virginia, give me Virginia to cover the spread.
- 15:01Speaker 1: Cover the spread.
- 15:01Speaker 1: All right, you know they're going to have.
- 15:06Speaker 1: If not, they got to put some points up early.
- 15:09Speaker 1: They can't get, they can't fall behind early.
- 15:11Speaker 1: You know Louisville can then run the ball and use that pass rush to get you.
- 15:16Speaker 1: That's what they're going to want to do.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Yeah, of course you end up one dimensional things.
- 15:19Speaker 1: I don't think Braun has the passing game he wants yet, but this is a guy.
- 15:25Speaker 1: Oh, I think it's one of the better play callers in the country, man.
- 15:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:29Speaker 1: And he's at his alma mater and they did slip up to Pitt and they can.
- 15:35Speaker 1: But we saw last week you go up there and our do's.
- 15:38Speaker 1: He's going to fight you.
- 15:39Speaker 2: Yeah, and Pitt's got some guys up front.
- 15:42Speaker 2: They weren't able to beat Pitt, beat them up, you know, with the offensive line, like they were most teams this season Maybe saw him do it another day and we saw him do it Virginia Tech last week.
- 15:52Speaker 2: Like that's how Louisville gets down.
- 15:54Speaker 2: They like to beat you up in the run game and kind of take their shots off of that.
- 15:59Speaker 1: Well, all right, let's move to Saturday and let's go to the ACC Clemson Dabba's buying all the stock you can get.
- 16:10Speaker 2: Why wouldn't you best for lost team in the country?
- 16:13Speaker 1: while they're going up against Georgia Tech, who's been playing well, finally won a game against a nonranked ACC team last week.
- 16:21Speaker 2: Yeah, there's very same Virginia Cavaliers, that's right.
- 16:24Speaker 1: Right and you know, will they be able to go?
- 16:28Speaker 1: They seem to be playing.
- 16:29Speaker 1: Play better against the better competition.
- 16:31Speaker 1: They're going to Clemson.
- 16:33Speaker 1: This is a rivalry game.
- 16:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:36Speaker 1: These teams are right down the road, yeah.
- 16:39Speaker 1: The spread Clemson is minus 14.
- 16:43Speaker 2: That's a bit high for me, I think.
- 16:46Speaker 2: I think I think Brent keys keys.
- 16:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I think the car keys man.
- 16:51Speaker 2: I think he covers Brent.
- 16:52Speaker 2: I don't think they win.
- 16:54Speaker 2: I wouldn't be shocked.
- 16:57Speaker 2: But you know, it's at Clemson, it's another noon game, so I do, but I think they cover.
- 17:02Speaker 2: I think that's pretty high for an offense that still isn't really that explosive.
- 17:09Speaker 1: I'm taking Georgia Tech to cover as well.
- 17:12Speaker 1: Then it's the big noon game Michigan, all the controversy.
- 17:16Speaker 1: Connor Steins and Navy seal had a 600 page manifesto on how he was going to run or cheat without anybody finding out.
- 17:27Speaker 1: Is that right?
- 17:28Speaker 2: That's right.
- 17:28Speaker 2: Also, had apparently would just came out a day yesterday actually had an LLC with an assistant coach and apparently Blake Corum the starting running back for Michigan.
- 17:41Speaker 2: Wow, the Corum has denied any knowledge of that Right.
- 17:45Speaker 1: So because you just need to win.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Well, yeah, and that would be a great game.
- 17:48Speaker 1: They can vacate all they want, yeah.
- 17:51Speaker 2: Yeah, he's got his attorney handling it.
- 17:53Speaker 1: The committee said that they're all they're gonna yeah, they're gonna just evaluate teams that are eligible for postseason play.
- 18:01Speaker 2: So there you go.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Until anybody makes that, you know, makes an announcement and they're not.
- 18:06Speaker 2: They're not going to do anything.
- 18:08Speaker 1: The more that comes out though this is yeah.
- 18:11Speaker 1: This is a lot.
- 18:12Speaker 1: You know when you think about it.
- 18:14Speaker 1: If you know any part of the play that's coming, like, say, for instance, you're on your defender, you're a pass rusher right and you know they're throwing the ball, just that you can give up your run lane, your gap responsibility, and totally have that advantage.
- 18:32Speaker 1: And that's enough with the, with these type of athletes.
- 18:34Speaker 1: When they give them even that more of an advantage, that takes away the integrity of the game.
- 18:39Speaker 1: First of all you need to punish and then you need to get the damn speakers in the helmets.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it would solve the problem immediately and I'm gonna miss all the the giant, the high, high genes, yeah.
- 18:53Speaker 2: All the, all the boards with the weird pictures on them and yeah, yeah, the weird funny colors on the different coaches, and yeah, all that it's gonna be, they'll do something, but it won't be while the season is going on.
- 19:07Speaker 2: Right now, all that's going on from Michigan and anybody in the big 10 is just stall tactics, back and forth.
- 19:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:14Speaker 2: They're not.
- 19:15Speaker 2: The big 10 is not going to clip their own nuts man.
- 19:17Speaker 2: The Michigan is arguably their best chance to win a national title this year.
- 19:22Speaker 1: Well, I mean, if you get Michigan out, you still have Ohio State.
- 19:25Speaker 1: If they can't play in the game, even if Michigan beats them, you just play Ohio State can still get the big one lost to.
- 19:32Speaker 2: Michigan.
- 19:32Speaker 2: Ohio State's been thrown right into the middle of the controversy.
- 19:35Speaker 2: It's not just Michigan.
- 19:36Speaker 2: Now, right, there's three other schools being accused of it, ohio State being one of them Purdue and Rutgers.
- 19:41Speaker 2: So it's it's just going to be ongoing.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Like I said, they're not going to really do anything until the season is over, if they do anything at all.
- 19:51Speaker 2: All right, well, let's move on, but anyway, michigan Godness yeah.
- 19:56Speaker 1: Michigan's, michigan's minus four and a half.
- 19:59Speaker 2: Yeah, and you know what.
- 20:00Speaker 2: The road.
- 20:00Speaker 2: I'm going to actually do something stupid.
- 20:02Speaker 1: No way, you're going to go, you're going to.
- 20:04Speaker 2: I'm going to put faith in James.
- 20:07Speaker 1: Oh, this could be the unrealized moment for next week it could be, it could be.
- 20:10Speaker 2: I think they can get Michigan.
- 20:12Speaker 1: I think they can it's at home.
- 20:13Speaker 2: It's at home.
- 20:14Speaker 2: Essentially, this is it, dude, If you're James Franklin right.
- 20:18Speaker 2: You lose this game, you have no credibility.
- 20:22Speaker 1: So money line.
- 20:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I think they're going to win straight up.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Give me, give me, give me Pin.
- 20:27Speaker 2: State by a touchdown.
- 20:28Speaker 1: Wow, wow.
- 20:32Speaker 1: Now I'm done.
- 20:34Speaker 1: I'm done with James Franklin.
- 20:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, that's the smart pick.
- 20:37Speaker 1: I'm not doing it.
- 20:38Speaker 1: Take a Michigan, they'll.
- 20:40Speaker 1: They'll use this to rally the troops.
- 20:43Speaker 1: You know, there you can.
- 20:46Speaker 1: You can use this to be like hey, everybody's against us.
- 20:49Speaker 1: They're trying to say that you guys aren't good and they'll use all that to rally the troops and they've been using that.
- 20:54Speaker 2: They've been using that, but how long does that?
- 20:56Speaker 2: You know?
- 20:57Speaker 1: right?
- 20:57Speaker 1: Well, let's move on.
- 20:58Speaker 1: So I'm taking Michigan, you're taking Penn State, you're going money line Penn State with a touchdown victory over Michigan.
- 21:05Speaker 1: I think Michigan wins by, by touch, by, like four.
- 21:12Speaker 2: All right, so they don't cover.
- 21:13Speaker 1: Man, they are up by no four.
- 21:15Speaker 1: No, you're right.
- 21:16Speaker 1: All right, give me Michigan to win by.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Let me give you a score here 33 to 28.
- 21:26Speaker 1: There you go.
- 21:28Speaker 2: Well, all right.
- 21:31Speaker 1: All right, alabama has been hot they have man, but this is going to play stoopsy, you better watch out now.
- 21:39Speaker 2: Mm-hmm, better watch out, dude.
- 21:41Speaker 2: People have they've kind of cooled on stoopsy again because it's Kentucky.
- 21:44Speaker 2: It's kind of what they do Start off hot, lose a few Mm-hmm, this is perfect, kind of reminding the fan base why you guys adore me and are paying me $10 million just to get you a nine wins a season.
- 21:58Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, you beat Florida and.
- 21:59Speaker 2: Bama In the same season.
- 22:01Speaker 2: What yeah?
- 22:02Speaker 1: So you, you are you no?
- 22:03Speaker 2: way.
- 22:04Speaker 2: No, I'm not picking them.
- 22:05Speaker 2: 10 and a half yeah, I think I think they cover.
- 22:08Speaker 2: Okay, I think Alabama continues to just be a glorified option, running team, you know, with a few long shots down the field and that's.
- 22:16Speaker 2: That's what's working for them, man.
- 22:18Speaker 1: I don't think Kentucky has the offense to do it.
- 22:21Speaker 1: I think Alabama will adjust and they will cover and they will win this game by two touchdowns.
- 22:28Speaker 2: Yeah, alabama is going to be really annoying for the rest of the season.
- 22:32Speaker 1: It really is.
- 22:32Speaker 1: I think I wouldn't be surprised if they won out.
- 22:36Speaker 1: All right, Texas Tech is going to Kansas.
- 22:40Speaker 1: The number 19 ranked Kansas J Hawks.
- 22:43Speaker 1: Texas Tech is getting four on the road, your boy.
- 22:50Speaker 2: Joey McGuire.
- 22:50Speaker 2: No, I got Kansas covering that man.
- 22:53Speaker 2: Jaylin Daniels isn't going to play, I think, the rest of the year starting QB.
- 22:59Speaker 2: But the backup beam is doing just fine.
- 23:01Speaker 2: They run the football, they play defense.
- 23:03Speaker 2: I think they'll cover that.
- 23:04Speaker 1: I agree, give me Kansas at home.
- 23:06Speaker 1: Let's go to the ACC Virginia Tech late in egg last week, oh my God, so did I this is a big game.
- 23:13Speaker 1: They're going to BC For.
- 23:14Speaker 2: BC.
- 23:15Speaker 2: They've been good.
- 23:16Speaker 2: They have not lost since Florida State beat them.
- 23:18Speaker 2: What are they saying at six and three right now?
- 23:21Speaker 2: I got BC in this.
- 23:23Speaker 2: I do too.
- 23:24Speaker 2: They got pit after this and then they got, I think, miami and Virginia to close out the season.
- 23:30Speaker 2: There's real shot at nine and three.
- 23:34Speaker 2: You know eight and four Like that's not such a terrible performance on the road.
- 23:41Speaker 2: You know I know it's still not great, but you know people thought BC was going to be a three win team back when that game happened.
- 23:48Speaker 2: So I got.
- 23:50Speaker 2: I got BC, though they're going to cover Okay, I think Virginia Tech is beat up.
- 23:54Speaker 2: Virginia Tech's favored Wow.
- 23:57Speaker 1: No.
- 23:58Speaker 2: Yeah, they're not.
- 24:00Speaker 1: No, all right, oh my God, they are.
- 24:03Speaker 2: Yeah, they're favored again.
- 24:03Speaker 2: A point and a half, that's crazy.
- 24:06Speaker 1: No BT BC home dog.
- 24:07Speaker 1: All right, let's go to NC State.
- 24:11Speaker 1: They're going to Wake Forest, um, and they're getting Wakes getting two and a half.
- 24:20Speaker 1: This is the kind of game, home dog.
- 24:22Speaker 2: Yeah, this is the kind of game that that then NC State loses, though, yeah, coming off a win.
- 24:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 24:28Speaker 2: Big win at home, Sleepy little two o'clock.
- 24:32Speaker 2: Is this yep CW game Cursor to CW?
- 24:35Speaker 2: I think Wake wins this.
- 24:41Speaker 1: Wake Moneyline home.
- 24:42Speaker 1: Dog Jim's going to Wake.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Give me the Wolfpack to beat Wake Forest.
- 24:47Speaker 1: They're no good.
- 24:47Speaker 1: Um, all right, uh, let's go.
- 24:51Speaker 1: Arizona and Colorado, let's pick that because prime, oh man, yeah, arizona is number 23.
- 24:56Speaker 1: Yeah, they are.
- 24:58Speaker 1: How about that?
- 24:58Speaker 1: This and they're going to Colorado, to Boulder, and they're favored by 10 and a half, and this is the game where something literally has to give.
- 25:07Speaker 2: Like Colorado refuses to run the football, for some reason, they demoted, they demoted, uh.
- 25:13Speaker 2: The offensive coordinator promoted Pat Shermer to play caller.
- 25:17Speaker 2: He did nothing but throw the football again.
- 25:19Speaker 2: Um, arizona routinely drops eight.
- 25:24Speaker 2: You know they.
- 25:25Speaker 2: They rely on defense, with a defensive front of three and everybody else dropping into coverage.
- 25:30Speaker 2: It's how they kept Caleb Williams in check in the first half.
- 25:34Speaker 2: So something's got to give.
- 25:36Speaker 2: I think Arizona beats them.
- 25:40Speaker 2: Um, but it.
- 25:41Speaker 2: You know.
- 25:42Speaker 2: I'm interested to see if, if Dion finally finds a way to make his offensive coordinator run the football.
- 25:48Speaker 2: I have my doubts, man.
- 25:50Speaker 2: Like, there doesn't seem to be any attempt.
- 25:52Speaker 2: It seems to be just the Shadoor Sanders show.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Well, they're getting tenant.
- 25:56Speaker 1: What do you think?
- 25:57Speaker 1: Who you got?
- 25:58Speaker 2: I got Arizona covering All right.
- 26:02Speaker 2: I don't think Dion is going to win another game.
- 26:07Speaker 1: I agree.
- 26:07Speaker 1: I don't know about winning another game, but this is going to be a tough one.
- 26:10Speaker 1: Arizona is playing well.
- 26:11Speaker 1: I think they handle it All right.
- 26:13Speaker 1: Let's do this one.
- 26:14Speaker 1: 100 year anniversary of Pitt at Syracuse playing in Yankee stadium 100 years ago.
- 26:21Speaker 1: Chris Cotter will be on the call.
- 26:24Speaker 1: This is my.
- 26:25Speaker 1: I mean both teams are struggling, but this is going to be a good game.
- 26:28Speaker 1: It's going to be a slug fest, I think.
- 26:30Speaker 1: Uh, it's me, an old barn burner man.
- 26:33Speaker 1: Um, it's in the Bronx man.
- 26:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 26:37Speaker 1: That's awesome.
- 26:38Speaker 1: Uh, Pitt is favored by three.
- 26:43Speaker 1: Who you got.
- 26:46Speaker 2: I'm going to take Pitt.
- 26:47Speaker 1: I do, I am too.
- 26:49Speaker 2: Syracuse just doesn't have anything.
- 26:51Speaker 1: Yeah, it's trader.
- 26:53Speaker 1: Looks different man he's different.
- 26:55Speaker 2: He doesn't have any weapons.
- 26:56Speaker 1: Right.
- 26:57Speaker 2: Um, I'd be shocked if Dino Babers is back next year at Syracuse coach.
- 27:02Speaker 2: So, there's probably a lot of that, or the ominous feelings that go along with that, around the program and Pitt Pitt's going to be pissed off after that game.
- 27:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 27:14Speaker 2: Yeah, they're going to feel like dude.
- 27:15Speaker 2: You know we should have been a lot closer and we should have been in that game in the fourth quarter, and then you know so.
- 27:20Speaker 2: I think it will win this one.
- 27:22Speaker 1: All right, this one uh, let's go to Orlando.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Um UCF is hosting a man and the Oklahoma state Cowboys who were coming off the big win at home against Oklahoma.
- 27:37Speaker 1: They're going down to you and they're favorite by two and a half Oklahoma state, Oklahoma state.
- 27:45Speaker 2: Seven and two sitting at 15.
- 27:47Speaker 2: Got a, got a chance to win out.
- 27:50Speaker 1: It's hard to believe that with that loss yeah, lost to South Alabama.
- 27:54Speaker 2: Um one last week without destroyed by South.
- 27:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 27:57Speaker 2: Yeah, One last week without even throwing a touchdown.
- 27:59Speaker 2: I don't know when the last time Mike Gundy's teams have ever done that.
- 28:02Speaker 2: Um, I think they'll go down there and boat race UCF.
- 28:06Speaker 2: Ucf is a team that is just not ready for big 12 competition.
- 28:10Speaker 2: Uh crazy man.
- 28:14Speaker 2: Oklahoma state really is going to probably win out and finish going to the big 12 title game.
- 28:21Speaker 1: All right, we got you got Miami covering over against Florida State before they win.
- 28:26Speaker 1: I got Florida State, you got Miami, I got Florida State covering the spread and winning.
- 28:31Speaker 1: All right, let's go to Tennessee.
- 28:34Speaker 1: Missouri Battle of ranked teams.
- 28:36Speaker 1: At Missouri, tennessee is favored by one on the road.
- 28:41Speaker 1: That kind of surprises me.
- 28:44Speaker 1: Yeah, because I'm going Missouri.
- 28:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I am too.
- 28:46Speaker 1: You know they actually played Georgia Tough.
- 28:48Speaker 1: Oh man At Georgia.
- 28:51Speaker 2: Tough, tough interception.
- 28:52Speaker 2: Right, I think they had.
- 28:54Speaker 1: they've been developing a nice home atmosphere there, missouri.
- 28:58Speaker 2: I think they got a super star, what he's doing, legitimate superstar and Luther Burton.
- 29:02Speaker 1: Yep, I'm taking Missouri to win.
- 29:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:05Speaker 1: Same.
- 29:06Speaker 1: All right, utah.
- 29:07Speaker 1: It's a big one, yep At Washington, washington's favor by nine and a half Undefeated.
- 29:14Speaker 1: They beat USC in a shootout last week.
- 29:17Speaker 1: Utah's coming in.
- 29:22Speaker 2: What did?
- 29:22Speaker 2: What did the running back had 250, some yards last week.
- 29:25Speaker 2: Dylan Johnson High school teammate of Trey Benson.
- 29:29Speaker 1: Wow, that's a lethal combo right there.
- 29:31Speaker 1: Yeah, right, gracious.
- 29:33Speaker 2: How does that get out of the state of Mississippi?
- 29:35Speaker 2: Oh man, I don't know.
- 29:38Speaker 1: But let's see who you got in this.
- 29:40Speaker 1: You know what?
- 29:43Speaker 2: I'm going to pick the Utes.
- 29:45Speaker 2: Give me Washington pulling the upset.
- 29:48Speaker 1: Wow, I don't know the game, winning the game, wow I don't know why, I just you know.
- 29:54Speaker 2: They went and they played Oregon and they got just destroyed.
- 29:57Speaker 1: Mm hmm, I have a hard time.
- 29:59Speaker 1: That's going to happen again.
- 30:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I just you know, I don't see that happen into a to a mountain man.
- 30:05Speaker 2: Yeah, whittingham team.
- 30:06Speaker 1: All right, all right Upset.
- 30:08Speaker 2: Jimmy Reno.
- 30:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm going to go ahead and pick the upset on the road at Washington, utah gets the upset, not me.
- 30:16Speaker 1: I'm thinking Washington's going to win this by two touchdowns.
- 30:19Speaker 2: Okay, you think this is a.
- 30:21Speaker 2: This is another step for Penix towards the Heisman.
- 30:24Speaker 1: Yeah, it's going to come down.
- 30:25Speaker 1: It's almost looking like it's going to come down in that pack 12 championship for a shot at the playoff and a.
- 30:32Speaker 1: Heisman, what a game that's going to be.
- 30:34Speaker 2: Yeah, bowen X is just a stat machine right now.
- 30:37Speaker 1: Okay, let's go to.
- 30:40Speaker 1: Let's go to Georgia.
- 30:45Speaker 1: Big game Ole Miss, yeah, number 10.
- 30:49Speaker 1: This going into Georgia, georgia's getting Ole Miss is getting 11.
- 30:55Speaker 2: This might be the best chance for the SEC title game that anybody's got at Georgia.
- 31:01Speaker 2: I just don't see Ole Miss being able to do it.
- 31:06Speaker 2: I see it going a lot like it did when they went and played Alabama and just kind of being shut down offensively.
- 31:14Speaker 1: So you got Georgia covering.
- 31:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I do.
- 31:16Speaker 2: I think they run the football and that's you know.
- 31:18Speaker 2: Ole Miss isn't any kind of dominant defense.
- 31:22Speaker 2: I mean they're okay, but nothing, nothing, that's just going to stifle.
- 31:27Speaker 1: Georgia for four quarters.
- 31:28Speaker 1: I don't think that they're going to be able to do it.
- 31:30Speaker 1: Georgia's going to be able to cover this game.
- 31:32Speaker 1: They're going to outlast them with depth in the second half and get up and win by two touchdowns.
- 31:36Speaker 1: All right, let's go.
- 31:39Speaker 1: Florida Gators are reeling and they're going to be on the road going to Baton Rouge.
- 31:45Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a tough, tough time to be searching for answers.
- 31:47Speaker 1: Little teams coming off losses, lsu's ranked 18th and Florida's getting 13 and a half on the road.
- 31:55Speaker 1: Who you got?
- 31:57Speaker 2: I'm going to have LSU covering this game, Even if Jaden Daniels doesn't play.
- 32:02Speaker 2: You know, I think Nussmeyer is good enough to throw over top of that defense and I'm not sure that.
- 32:10Speaker 2: I know that LSU is very soft on defense.
- 32:13Speaker 2: But you're playing in Baton Rouge.
- 32:15Speaker 2: It's night.
- 32:16Speaker 2: That's a really tough place to win at night.
- 32:20Speaker 2: Yeah, Even with a defense that isn't as nasty as it has been in years past, they'll put points on the board.
- 32:27Speaker 2: I think Florida just kind of, you know, falls off in the end there.
- 32:32Speaker 2: That one I like LSU covering.
- 32:35Speaker 1: All right, let's do.
- 32:37Speaker 1: Duke in North Carolina, big one man.
- 32:40Speaker 2: Yeah, it looks like it was going to be a lot bigger A few weeks ago.
- 32:44Speaker 1: Duke's getting 14 and a half on the road.
- 32:47Speaker 1: Wow, that that?
- 32:51Speaker 2: that shocks me.
- 32:52Speaker 1: Yeah, it's really falling off.
- 32:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know if Riley Leonard's going to play.
- 32:58Speaker 2: That could be how I think, questionable at best that could have something to do with it, but I think you're right, man.
- 33:05Speaker 2: I think you're seeing the depth issues start to show their head at Duke.
- 33:09Speaker 1: So you got North Carolina winning big.
- 33:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I think they'll cover.
- 33:12Speaker 1: Not me.
- 33:12Speaker 1: I'm taking Duke to cover.
- 33:14Speaker 1: Yeah, not to win, though they're going to keep close.
- 33:17Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, I mean, you know, elko does have a defense.
- 33:20Speaker 1: One more USC at Oregon.
- 33:23Speaker 1: Oregon's getting USC, my bad is getting 15.
- 33:28Speaker 2: You got they fired Alex Grinch.
- 33:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, you know.
- 33:31Speaker 2: I'm interested to see if it was Grinch or if it's just like yeah, we'll find out if it's the philosophy of Lincoln Riley.
- 33:40Speaker 1: They're on the road on the road points Do they cover?
- 33:43Speaker 2: I think Oregon covers man.
- 33:45Speaker 2: I don't see any Wow From that.
- 33:47Speaker 1: I'm taking USC.
- 33:48Speaker 1: I think the new defense might be able to fire him up a little bit to keep it close.
- 33:53Speaker 1: I think Oregon wins by 10.
- 33:56Speaker 2: That'd be a big indictment.
- 33:57Speaker 2: If they can keep it close, I don't know.
- 34:00Speaker 2: I'm really interested to see if Lincoln Riley's whole philosophy of just getting me one or two stops a game is why they look like crap on defense every week we had to go.
- 34:09Speaker 2: You talk about a team that needs a win.
- 34:13Speaker 1: You got to get on out of here.
- 34:14Speaker 2: The USC needs a win.
- 34:15Speaker 2: That team is reeling we're reaching the territory of.
- 34:21Speaker 2: Caleb Williams is just going to stop playing.
- 34:23Speaker 2: He's going to shut it down.
- 34:26Speaker 1: You start doing that for the bowl games.
- 34:29Speaker 2: Yeah, but again, you know what's?
- 34:31Speaker 2: I don't know, I don't know.
- 34:33Speaker 2: Man, that team's really seen the wheels start to start to rattle off that bus, yep.
- 34:39Speaker 1: Yep, well, I got a wedding to go to this weekend.
- 34:45Speaker 1: How about?
- 34:45Speaker 1: Who does that?
- 34:46Speaker 2: Right, I love them.
- 34:48Speaker 1: The great people.
- 34:49Speaker 1: I guarantee the wedding with me.
- 34:51Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I'll be in Tampa watching it with junior football game.
- 34:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:56Speaker 1: That's going to be a great game, though it's going to be a great atmosphere.
- 34:59Speaker 1: It always is.
- 35:01Speaker 1: I know Dope will be rocking.
- 35:03Speaker 2: Oh yeah, there's going to be an upward of 100, 150 different recruits.
- 35:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 35:09Speaker 2: Pretty much every big recruit in the Southeast is going to be at the game.
- 35:12Speaker 1: That's right.
- 35:12Speaker 1: It's going to be a big game.
- 35:14Speaker 1: Yeah, recruiting battle.
- 35:15Speaker 1: Yeah, we have an update on that coming up next week, mu is number nine, number nine and yes yes, they're going to keep climbing and I don't think you'll see them win these next two weeks.
- 35:26Speaker 2: And how high can they get?
- 35:29Speaker 1: How high can they get?
- 35:30Speaker 1: But it doesn't matter.
- 35:31Speaker 1: They're not going to be in the playoff because that they're playing the celebration.
- 35:34Speaker 1: Well, I don't understand.
- 35:35Speaker 2: Yeah, well, you know what I'm going to.
- 35:37Speaker 2: I'm going to make a statement.
- 35:38Speaker 2: I think and I'll say this, about Jackson State last year, when he almost aired the coach, I think you would have seen him make a run and I think this family team would make a run.
- 35:48Speaker 1: No, doubt, no doubt, but I agree.
- 35:51Speaker 1: I guess which?
- 35:52Speaker 2: that they do right now.
- 35:53Speaker 2: Just it'll just be head movies someday maybe.
- 35:58Speaker 1: That make any day, and since it.
- 36:00Speaker 2: you know it doesn't, but you know there's a lot about sports and just society in general that still have some growing up to do man.
- 36:09Speaker 2: But you know, I'm just, I'm proud.
- 36:11Speaker 2: I'm proud of coach Simmons out there, man Number nine in the FCS, like that's.
- 36:16Speaker 2: That's putting up big time.
- 36:17Speaker 1: And they could be USF yeah.
- 36:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I think there's a little couple of mistakes that they were in that game.
- 36:24Speaker 1: They were in that game physically.
- 36:26Speaker 2: USF has a nasty defense.
- 36:28Speaker 2: Yeah, they do.
- 36:30Speaker 1: Well, thank you, Jimmy.
- 36:32Speaker 2: We got.
- 36:32Speaker 1: NFL picks tomorrow.
- 36:33Speaker 1: The battle for the Latin joke continues, and then we're going to preview Miami Florida later in the week.
- 36:40Speaker 1: So thank you for listening down the subscriber gear podcast and we'll talk to you next time right here on the North Florida Sports Network.
