- 0:00This is The Catholic Current with Father
- 0:03Robert Mattheig. 17th century Scottish statesman Andrew
- 0:07Fletcher said, let me make the songs of a nation and I care not who
- 0:11makes the laws. How might we have to update it for today? Well,
- 0:14I think the best way to update that is to use the words of a
- 0:1821st century Irish statesman, another Andrew, Andrew Breitbart.
- 0:21He said politics is downstream of culture, and he's absolutely
- 0:25right. And if we think the way to win is to walk away from the
- 0:28fight, well, then you end up with the kind of society we find ourselves
- 0:32in. Praise be Jesus Christ. This is Father Robert McTeague of the
- 0:36Society of Jesus, your daily host for The Catholic Current, where we bring Christ to
- 0:40the world and the world to Christ. You're listening to us from the Station of
- 0:42the Cross Studios, your local radio station, and the iCatholic Radio mobile app. We proclaim
- 0:46the fullness of truth with clarity and charity. As always,
- 0:50let's start with prayer. In the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.
- 0:54Almighty God, through the intercession of Saint Ignatius Loyola, we ask that you pour forth
- 0:57your Holy Spirit upon us, a spirit of discernment that might hear your voice and
- 1:02obey your command. In the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.
- 1:05Amen. Well, friends, we're taking a closer look at migration.
- 1:08Lots of people have opinions about it. Not very many
- 1:12people have facts about it. Uh, Europe is undergoing
- 1:17a transformation as more and more migrants come in and
- 1:21don't quite assimilate. They do seem to collect a lot of
- 1:25welfare based on the numbers that I've seen and commit a disproportionate
- 1:29percentage of violent crimes, especially violent crimes against
- 1:33women. And now there is a kerfuffle going on between Morocco and Spain.
- 1:38What is going on here, and how can we look at it with a Catholic
- 1:41lens? And so my returning guest has a lot to say about that. She's the
- 1:45founder of Your Children and is an international child advocate attorney.
- 1:50Liz Earle, welcome back to The Catholic Current. Thank you, Father. Great to
- 1:54be with you again. Liz, you know that Pope Leo had gotten kind of an
- 1:57open invitation, you know, as an American Pope, come back to America.
- 2:00Wouldn't it be swell to here for the 4th of July, the 250th
- 2:04anniversary of the country. That's a prudential decision. He decided
- 2:08not only to not be there, but to be somewhere else,
- 2:12and that somewhere else, many people interpreted as
- 2:15a symbolic gesture. Tell us about that, please.
- 2:18Yes, you know, as a daughter of a World War II Navy
- 2:22pilot, I take the 4th of July very seriously,
- 2:26and so I was somewhat distressed that Pope
- 2:31Leo went to Lampedusa, which is the Italian island
- 2:35in the Mediterranean Sea, which is actually Europe's primary
- 2:39entry point for illegal migrants crossing
- 2:43over from North Africa. And what
- 2:47struck me about the scene on the 4th of July with this
- 2:50American-born pope was the— it
- 2:55was really a production of, you know, the couple,
- 3:00the young, the mother and the children, and,
- 3:04you know, walking in through the gate and highlighting
- 3:08the migration, mass illegal migration
- 3:12from North Africa. Specifically, you know, what troubles me
- 3:17about Lampedusa, which has been, you know, Lampedusa is a
- 3:20very small island and has been run
- 3:24over for, for decades with
- 3:27this illegal immigration coming from primarily
- 3:33Muslim-dominated countries. We're talking about Algeria,
- 3:37Morocco. These are countries,
- 3:41you know, 99% Muslim populations.
- 3:46And what concerns me about this is, you know,
- 3:49his first, you know, his first foray was to the Canary
- 3:53Islands in June, and then in July he went to Lampedusa
- 3:58in Italy, which is actually a place where Pope Francis
- 4:02went almost immediately once he became pope. And what
- 4:06Pope Leo said was that he wanted to bow before
- 4:10the dignity of migrants. You know, I found that,
- 4:14you know, a little disturbing because, you know, quite frankly, we're talking
- 4:18about people who, you know, whether or not you are going to justify
- 4:21their actions, these are illegal, crossing into,
- 4:26um, a legitimate territory. And many of
- 4:30these illegals who are coming into Lampedusa,
- 4:35coming into the Canary Islands,
- 4:38are claiming child status,
- 4:41unaccompanied children. And what we have now found out
- 4:45about these illegal immigrants is
- 4:48that the vast majority of those claiming that
- 4:53they're unaccompanied minors. And the reason, Father, that they're claiming that they're unaccompanied
- 4:57minors is that, I mean, it's very difficult for them
- 5:01to be sent back because of the status
- 5:05of an illegal unaccompanied minor child.
- 5:09Additionally, they get all sorts of additional benefits
- 5:13that your regular adult migrants
- 5:17would not get. Well, what they have found in doing,
- 5:21finally doing studies about the Canary Islands is
- 5:24that over 50% of the unaccompanied minors were actually
- 5:29adults. And this was a study done in— and
- 5:33then they did a study in Madrid and found out that 70% of
- 5:38those claiming that they were unaccompanied minors were
- 5:43in fact adults. And this happened in
- 5:47France where in fact they did a study where 80% of
- 5:51the unaccompanied minors coming into France were—
- 5:56had declared themselves minors were adults.
- 6:00Same thing in Belgium. And what is actually happening
- 6:04now is that they're finally beginning to test these
- 6:08illegal migrants coming into the shores, these entry
- 6:12points, and determining that in fact they're not children.
- 6:17And what is especially troubling is that they're essentially
- 6:20putting adults into children's shelters. That's one.
- 6:24One very problematic thing. These are primarily military-age
- 6:28men, aren't they? I'm sorry to interrupt. I mean, these are not elderly citizens.
- 6:32These are military-age men. They're not bringing their wives
- 6:36and children with them if they have them. And, you know,
- 6:40Phil Lawler said, you know, classically, you see pictures of refugees
- 6:44and migrants, you know, they've got a backpack, they've got a suitcase,
- 6:47they've got something. You know, recent crossings in Morocco,
- 6:51people didn't even have t-shirts. It doesn't ring true to
- 6:55me. That's right. You know, interestingly,
- 6:58you know, Pope Leo called these migrants messengers of hope. But I think we
- 7:02need to really take a close look at, are they messengers
- 7:06of hope to these incoming countries, Christian, largely Christian
- 7:11countries in Europe? And they bring increased
- 7:15crime, destabilization of communities.
- 7:20And although we recognize that there is a responsibility
- 7:25treat them with respect, there is a need to
- 7:29really underscore the importance of,
- 7:32you know, what is going on. And I would call this a civilization
- 7:36jihad. Actually,
- 7:39Bishop Athanasius Schneider described this as an
- 7:43invasion, and that he was particularly
- 7:47concerned about that we were sleepwalking into a civilizational
- 7:52collapse, and that we as as
- 7:56Christians need to understand that this is the Great
- 8:00Replacement that is going on, the Islamicization
- 8:04of the West. And so it is absolutely
- 8:08essential that we need to look at these
- 8:11issues. You know, for example, you know, the Vatican has their 37-foot
- 8:16cement wall surrounding, um,
- 8:19that's been there for what, 700, 800 years for the purposes
- 8:23of keeping out the Muslim invaders. And also
- 8:26in the, in And the Vatican has the toughest civil and
- 8:30criminal immigration laws in all of
- 8:34Europe. I was going to say that I don't see any photographs of
- 8:38Pope Leo bowing before the dignity of people who arrived illegally in
- 8:41the Vatican. Maybe those photographs are out there, but I haven't seen them.
- 8:45But the Vatican's laws are nearly— I mean, if you enter the Vatican
- 8:50illegally, you're banished for years.
- 8:54You can't even come in legally. After that. So,
- 8:57I'll put it this way, it strikes me as odd. It strikes me
- 9:02as inconsistent. You know, I mean, you and I are talking about
- 9:06this. We got about 2 minutes left here. Who else is talking about
- 9:10this? Now, finally, European citizens
- 9:14are talking about it. From the Church, it's only,
- 9:18as I can see, Archbishop Vigano,
- 9:21as well as Bishop Schneider, Bishop Schneider,
- 9:24of course, comes from, you know, he's a bishop of Kazakhstan where
- 9:29there are, you know, a majority Muslim country. So he has an appreciation
- 9:33of the Islamicization of Europe and the
- 9:38impact, and I think understands the culture better than most.
- 9:41But very few people, certainly in the
- 9:45church, are talking about it. In fact, there is, in my opinion, a full-court
- 9:50press to demand full
- 9:54welcoming of immigrants into both the United States
- 9:58and Europe, despite what is happening in Europe,
- 10:02despite the fact that since 2015,
- 10:05millions of illegal immigrants from largely Muslim-dominated
- 10:11countries have poured into Europe with an increase of,
- 10:15you know, massive crime in Sweden and Norway
- 10:19and in Britain. So, you know, this is
- 10:23an issue that For many years, Father, you know, nobody was
- 10:27allowed to talk about it. They weren't even allowed to— yes,
- 10:31in polite society, you, you wouldn't be able to say, hey, you know what,
- 10:35I don't think the Algerian Association of Future Astronauts is crossing
- 10:40our border. I think it's somebody else. And, and the
- 10:43Brain Surgeons Guild of Morocco isn't coming into Spain en masse.
- 10:48Uh, it's mostly military-age men,
- 10:51and they are incentivized to move in because they get
- 10:56free stuff at taxpayer expense, and I don't understand
- 11:00the how and why of this. Friends, we come back, we're going to continue our
- 11:03closer look at migration. My returning guest today is Liz Youra.
- 11:07She's the founder of Your Children. Remember, our rallying cry here at

- 12:57My returning guest is Liz Yourr. She is founder
- 13:00of Your Children, an international child advocate attorney.
- 13:04Liz, this— the migration issue into Europe has been taking place
- 13:08for a long time, but there is kind of a breaking
- 13:12story right now involving Morocco and Spain and
- 13:15a piece of land I can't pronounce. Ceuta? Is that it?
- 13:18How do you pronounce it? Ceuta, yes. Fill us in on that,
- 13:22please, because I know you've been following that closely. Sure. About 5
- 13:26or 6 days ago, 60,000 young Moroccan military-aged
- 13:32men basically stormed the beaches of Ceuta,
- 13:35Spain. They came nearly all
- 13:38at once to this small town,
- 13:42and it was a massive invasion.
- 13:45Some say up to 80,000,
- 13:47100,000. And it— but the interesting
- 13:51thing father, was that it was captured on social media
- 13:55as these young men— there were no women
- 13:59and children that I saw in the videos— rampaged really through the town,
- 14:03burning cars, looting stores, breaking into homes,
- 14:06attacking citizens. And they weren't fleeing
- 14:10a war-torn country, nor were they fleeing
- 14:14climate change, quote unquote. They were literally organized
- 14:19on social media to hit the beaches of Spain.
- 14:23Largely because there were some— a new
- 14:27socialist prime minister, new laws in Spain
- 14:30that were going to make it more difficult to deport illegal immigrants.
- 14:35Now we know that there's a second wave that's coming.
- 14:39Well, nearly all of the European leaders had
- 14:43a meltdown because this was seen by
- 14:47everybody as yet an invasion that was
- 14:52not plan not on anybody's radar. And as
- 14:56a result, they are closing the borders. The Meloni,
- 15:00the Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni of Italy, says that she's
- 15:04closing the borders to Spain.
- 15:08And what is especially frustrating
- 15:11is that, you know, Morocco going into Catholic Spain,
- 15:15these, these young men are from
- 15:1999% Muslim Morocco coming
- 15:23into Spain. They, you know,
- 15:27with their behavior in Ceuta,
- 15:31they just created immediate chaos.
- 15:35And the Prime Minister of Spain actually said, well, most of them have been sent
- 15:39back. Well, that's not true. There have been extensive reports
- 15:43that they are being sent into the interior, not only
- 15:47of Spain, but then on to Europe.
- 15:51And it's, you know, this— and by
- 15:55the way, over 80, 90 people coming over in the
- 15:58boats were killed as a result of, you know, the boats, as a
- 16:02result of drowning. And what concerns me is the Vatican,
- 16:06you know, saying that this preference for wanting national
- 16:11sovereignty of all the countries in Europe,
- 16:14finally saying we want our national sovereignty, we want
- 16:18to protect our civilization, branding that as a grave sin
- 16:23in any country that wants to have a border
- 16:27to protect its country from, you know,
- 16:30what we just saw happening in Spain is
- 16:34calling that a wall of indifference.
- 16:38So, you know, what is— this has begun,
- 16:41I think, the— finally, we're now having
- 16:45the discussion and attention on this
- 16:49issue that is Europe going to seal its borders,
- 16:53protect its waters, and— or are they they going to continue
- 16:57to let this mass Islamic invasion coming
- 17:01into Western civilization? You know, this, you know,
- 17:05there, as I said, there was no war in Morocco
- 17:09to flee from. Um, there were no women, elderly,
- 17:13sick, or defenseless children in this invasion.
- 17:18This was organized to take advantage
- 17:22of the vast welfare system in Spain.
- 17:26And again, you know, this You know, we have a Pope that
- 17:30says, I bow to your dignity. Well, if you look at what went on in
- 17:33the streets of Soweto, Spain, you would
- 17:37not be bowing to anybody's dignity. You would be,
- 17:41as a citizen of Soweto, they were saying they were getting
- 17:45their guns and they were, you know, fighting back. But again,
- 17:50the Spanish bishops decided that they were going
- 17:53to do everything they could to ensure that these illegal
- 17:57immigrants who stormed the beaches would be— in fact,
- 18:01you know, many people in Soweto were saying, this is an invading
- 18:05army in our respect. But the bishops were asking
- 18:09for 100% donation of all the collections at Masses
- 18:13to go to these invaders. Was there
- 18:17any money to go for the people who had their shops vandalized or their property
- 18:21destroyed? No, of course not. Of course not. And, you know, at lowest
- 18:26estimate, there were 40,000 people who showed
- 18:30up. Practically in a day. The population of the town is
- 18:34about 83,000, and 40,000
- 18:38is the low estimate of the newcomers,
- 18:41the cultural enrichers, as we are told.
- 18:45I find that boggling. You know, isn't it the case,
- 18:48Liz, that when you finance and incentivize something, you get more of
- 18:53it? I mean, I've seen the videos. I've seen the pictures. These are people who
- 18:57who, I mean, it was like the gold rush. It was,
- 19:00Father. And, you know, you make a very good point when you talk about,
- 19:03you know, incentivizing. 32% of
- 19:07the population of Spain are poor women
- 19:11and children. They're not getting the benefits
- 19:14that the illegal immigrants are getting. They're not getting all the
- 19:19incentives from the Catholic bishops. They're living
- 19:22below the poverty line. And they are the ones
- 19:26who end up suffering because of this mass migration.
- 19:31And so, I think the important thing is that we need
- 19:35to have a real discussion in Europe,
- 19:39in Britain, and in America about this,
- 19:43what I would call jihad civilization. I mean, we know that
- 19:48this is precisely what is happening. We know
- 19:52we can see it in Europe, as well as in in Britain,
- 19:56the Sharia courts. We see the increase,
- 20:00you know, throughout Europe of the rapes in Spain,
- 20:05in Norway, in Sweden.
- 20:08The statistics are staggering. And yet we
- 20:12have not been allowed to have that discussion because of press
- 20:17censorship, because of the political correctness of, you can't,
- 20:21you're called an Islamophobe if you have these discussions.
- 20:26And yet that we have a right to, number one,
- 20:29protect the Christian civilization
- 20:33in Europe, and to have a discussion about all
- 20:36of the churches that are being burned down in France,
- 20:40magnificent Gothic cathedrals being burned to the
- 20:44ground, the defacement of churches as
- 20:48a result of this wanting to move
- 20:52out Christianity and install mosques around
- 20:57all of Europe. And that is precisely not only what's happening
- 21:01in Europe, it's happening in Canada and now happening in the United
- 21:04States. And I think, you know, the time is
- 21:08long past to begin to really talk
- 21:13about this. And unfortunately, Father, we need the Church
- 21:16to be the voice of Catholicism, of Christianity,
- 21:20of protecting our magnificent culture that was built.
- 21:24You know, it was the popes who protected Christianity
- 21:29in Europe 700 years ago in the Crusades. And yet,
- 21:34I think it's going to have to be the laity that rises up and
- 21:39maybe a handful of bishops. Well, at the same time,
- 21:44you know, Mrs. Sarah Molele, who's been LARPing as the Archbishop
- 21:48of Canterbury recently, got a very warm reception in Rome.
- 21:52She's now on an apology tour of Africa. She might have just
- 21:55come back, where she's wearing Kenpe vestments. Because that's plausible.
- 22:00And basically, it's an apology. Please blame white European
- 22:04Christians for all of slavery, and we want to give
- 22:08you £100 million. The queue starts
- 22:12here. And I said, wait a minute, it's not your money. What about
- 22:16all the Christians who sacrificed to stop
- 22:20slavery? I mean, the British Empire shed a lot of blood and
- 22:24treasure to stop slave trade, and I don't hear anybody talking about the Barbary pirates
- 22:30abducting over a million Christians to Africa
- 22:34as slaves. Am I just looking in the wrong places, or are people not talking
- 22:37about this? No, people aren't talking about it. First of all, you know,
- 22:41England should be very proud of Wilberforce and, you know,
- 22:45the ending of slavery, largely because of
- 22:49the work in England. And by the way,
- 22:53Archbishop Molele, an estimated 388 million
- 22:57Christians are facing high levels of persecution and
- 23:02discrimination all over Africa.
- 23:061 in 7 Christians globally experience hostility
- 23:10for their faith. Over 50,000 Christians
- 23:14have been targeted and killed in Nigeria since 2009,
- 23:19and the death toll consistently exceeds
- 23:224,000 in the region. Violence has
- 23:26escalated significantly in 2025 and '26 in
- 23:30Nigeria. I mean, These, you know,
- 23:33and we hear nothing about the genocide and persecution
- 23:38of Christians who can find their— I mean, it's so admirable.
- 23:42They continue to go to Mass knowing that
- 23:46at any moment Islamic gangs with
- 23:49guns and machine guns and machetes can show up
- 23:53at Mass and kill them all. I mean, last week I think there was 31
- 23:57that were killed. I mean, and Open
- 24:01Doors and all the human rights organizations have
- 24:05been documenting. But no, it's not politically correct
- 24:10for Sarah Millely and the King of England,
- 24:14who is now the king of all faiths,
- 24:17not the Christian faith. Yeah, supposedly he was defender
- 24:22of the faith, and now he's just defender of faith, uh, in general,
- 24:25which I'm gonna, I'm gonna bite my tongue. I was about to say something very
- 24:28impolite. I agree with you, is, the people who should
- 24:33have been speaking up, really, for decades. I mean, we haven't even gotten into
- 24:37the whole issue of the grooming gangs and the systematic rape of white Christian
- 24:40girls throughout Britain, which has been conducted
- 24:45for decades, for at least 50 years, if not 70.
- 24:48And there has scarcely been a reckoning of that as
- 24:52well. And I don't understand why former Christendom
- 24:56has a death wish. Friends, when we come back, we're going to continue our conversation.

- 26:30the iCatholic Radio mobile app, and we proclaim the fullness of truth with
- 26:33clarity and charity. Hey friends, if you value thoughtful Catholic analysis,

- 26:41Here on The Catholic Current, we engage issues seriously and faithfully, and that
- 26:45intellectual freedom exists because we are listener-funded. Support us at
- 26:49thestationofthecross.com. My returning guest is Liz
- 26:53Yore, and we're talking about a closer look at migration.
- 26:56Liz, I was thinking, we're talking about things in the United
- 27:00States that would get us arrested in Britain for sure, and probably other
- 27:05places in Europe as well. And we say, well, you know,
- 27:08we've got the First Amendment. The First Amendment is a piece of paper.
- 27:12And if you don't enforce it, it's just a piece of paper. It's like a
- 27:15victim of domestic abuse saying, I can't be beaten anymore.
- 27:18I have a restraining order. If there's no will to enforce it, there are laws
- 27:23on the books that are not being enforced, and who
- 27:27pays the price? I mean, it's been documented, hasn't it, that a disproportionate
- 27:31of these new arrivals end up on welfare for generations.
- 27:36They commit the disproportionate amount of violent crimes,
- 27:40disproportionate percentage of violent crimes against women, and there has
- 27:44been this systematic rape of young English
- 27:48Christian white girls throughout Britain for
- 27:52decades. I don't hear the feminists talking about
- 27:56this. I don't hear the MeToo movement rallying there, and I'm
- 28:00scratching my head and saying, why, oh why, why aren't Christians standing
- 28:05up for themselves? Why can't we at least say
- 28:09who the assailants are? What's going on
- 28:13here? Well, Father, you're right. The feminists have been woefully
- 28:17negligent, silent, stone-cold silent on
- 28:20this issue. I think it's a matter of being PC.
- 28:25That is their ultimate goal, is to be politically correct
- 28:29and to kneel down and bow at Islam
- 28:34is actually more important than fighting for your
- 28:38fellow females. And I think, you know,
- 28:41what we have seen is now the left and the Muslim alliance,
- 28:46the Red Green Alliance is what it is called, has now formed
- 28:50to destroy Christianity in the West.
- 28:54And so, the left for the time being is
- 28:57a partner with the Islamic invasion.
- 29:01Unfortunately, what they do not realize is that once the Muslims
- 29:06assume total power and dominance, the left will, you know,
- 29:09the homosexuals, you know, those that they don't share their
- 29:13views with, they'll be the first to go. But, you know,
- 29:16Europe is on the death rows of the lowest birth rate.
- 29:20PC has been, you know, civilization destroyer.
- 29:24We in the United States, who was it who said we are one generation
- 29:28away from, you know, losing our liberty and democracy?
- 29:32You know, I remember not so long ago during the Biden administration,
- 29:36where we were told that the FBI was
- 29:40looking into traditional Catholics as domestic terrorists.
- 29:44So I don't presume that our Constitution is going
- 29:48to protect us. It's going to protect us with brave patriots
- 29:52speaking up and fighting this death rattle
- 29:56suicide of the West, this hostile takeover
- 30:01and capitulation to Islamic cultural standards.
- 30:06What's going on? I think there's several causes of the submission
- 30:10to Islam. There's several complex causes going on,
- 30:14and you, as, you know, brilliant Jesuit,
- 30:18would know better than I. But I do think, number one,
- 30:21there's fear. There's fear of, you know, they've seen the Charlie
- 30:25Hebdo assassination, the Bataclan,
- 30:29you know, the, um, in the theater where there was
- 30:32hundreds of of French people who were killed,
- 30:35Salman Rushdie, the concert in Manchester.
- 30:39You go on and on, and they've seen the destruction
- 30:44in Africa. And frankly, they're content to let the destruction in Africa
- 30:48go on without raising their voices, knowing it's going to be
- 30:52at our shores. And I think that there is this submission
- 30:57to be tolerant and welcoming, and that's a general naivete
- 31:01towards Islam, and it's very, very dangerous.
- 31:05And I think, you know, to be honest, I think we've lost faith in Christianity.
- 31:10We have a sense of cultural shame about, you know,
- 31:13what Christianity is all about, fighting for our
- 31:17values. And Catholic leaders are at the
- 31:20forefront of coddling Islam,
- 31:24and they have done this through the interfaith dialogue
- 31:28I call it the dialogue delusion that was led decades
- 31:32ago by Ted McCarrick, the serial global
- 31:36sexual predator, who was really— remember,
- 31:41he was at Ground Zero with the imams
- 31:44demanding that we build
- 31:48a mosque on the site of 9/11. He was
- 31:52there promoting Islam along with Pope
- 31:57Francis is saying that God, the Abraham Islamic Declaration, the Abu
- 32:01Dhabi Declaration, all religions are
- 32:05willed by God. So there's been this ongoing coddling
- 32:09intolerance of Muslims without
- 32:14discussing, and this is where we really have to wake up.
- 32:17People need to educate themselves about taqiyya,
- 32:21which is deception. There is in several sections
- 32:26in the Quran, about deceiving
- 32:30the infidels. To promote Islam,
- 32:34you can lie. For example, you can lie about being an unaccompanied
- 32:38minor child, right? You can lie when you take the stand and say, oh yes,
- 32:42I will return my American-born children to their mother, when in
- 32:45fact they have no intention of doing that. People have got to— and
- 32:50there are some great books out there. William Kilpatrick
- 32:54has a great book about what Catholics need to know about Islam. There is a
- 32:57wonderful book book by Steve Coughlin,
- 33:00Bridge Building to Nowhere, talking about the interfaith dialogue.
- 33:04What is interesting, Father, is that in the Holy Land
- 33:08Foundation trial in Texas, the FBI were able to
- 33:12recover the memorandum of the Muslim Brotherhood that
- 33:16talked about what they call civilization jihad, which is
- 33:20the infiltration through the interfaith
- 33:23dialogue to, yes,
- 33:27to absolutely take over
- 33:30Christianity through this tolerance, through this
- 33:34acceptance of Muslims, through this acceptance
- 33:38of mass mosques, through this acceptance of selling Catholic
- 33:43churches to mosques and to Islamic communities.
- 33:46Right, so Buffalo is notorious for that, yeah. Right, right.
- 33:50And so this has been a process, a slow,
- 33:54um, degenerative process that has been taking place in,
- 33:58in the name of tolerance and mercy and kindness.
- 34:02And what we've lost is we've lost our ability to discern.
- 34:06We have not educated ourselves about Islam.
- 34:10And now we're in the position of— we're in the battle for our
- 34:14lives, for our society, for our civilization. And it's coming to
- 34:18our shores, and it's already, you know, all of our
- 34:22ancestors in Ireland and England and over in Europe, they are
- 34:26in— is Europe going to survive? I don't know.
- 34:30And so, this is something that
- 34:33it's all Americans, it's game on.
- 34:37We need to educate ourselves because it's coming to our local communities,
- 34:41as we've seen in Texas, where they're building massive mosques,
- 34:45where you have the prayer to call 5 times a day, where you
- 34:49have the Sharia law being
- 34:53imposed in our communities, where you have, you know,
- 34:57500,000 women and children, girls and women
- 35:00in the United States being at a threat to female
- 35:04genital mutilation and child marriage in the United
- 35:08States. Father, what I have learned in working in this field is
- 35:12that Muslims do not leave leave their practices,
- 35:17many of them barbaric practices, culture behind.
- 35:21They bring them with it. They bring them to
- 35:24the United States. We have no-go zones in
- 35:28Europe, and we have the practice of
- 35:32Sharia. So it is— we've been naive
- 35:35much too long. And the other piece is, is that it's time for us to
- 35:40start taking our faith seriously again,
- 35:43because that is what gives us the ability to discern,
- 35:47the courage to fight, and to really
- 35:51evangelize. Right. I mean,
- 35:54Christ is unique. Christ is God Almighty's
- 35:58best and final offer. It's not
- 36:02a privileged option. All grace, all salvation comes
- 36:06from him. Now, Jesuits were renowned as
- 36:10missionaries, and my Jesuit brothers got on boats and went to the
- 36:14ends of the earth expecting to never come back home and
- 36:18very likely to die horribly.
- 36:21They didn't do that for the sake of dialogue.
- 36:24It was that Christ was worth living
- 36:28for and dying for. I forget which archbishop was
- 36:32in the United States, but he said that Muslims have
- 36:35a God-given right to build mosques. In America.
- 36:40I don't know how you square that with, you know, Leo XIII,
- 36:44for example, or Pius X, or King Louis IX of
- 36:48France, for that matter. So, ordinary people
- 36:52listening to us, you know, they're driving home from work,
- 36:55they're taking the kids to soccer practice, they're thinking about making
- 36:59dinner. What can ordinary people do? Well, what ordinary
- 37:02people can do is turn off the television, start reading about,
- 37:06you know, with social media. There's, you know, there's Robert Spencer,
- 37:10um, there's all sorts of, you know, bansharia.com.
- 37:13There's all sorts of resources out there to educate
- 37:16yourself. You don't have to be an Islamic scholar, but you need to know
- 37:20about taqiyyah. You need to know about the culture that is happening in
- 37:24Europe. You need to read the UK
- 37:29gang rape report, right, that just
- 37:33came out about about the 250,000
- 37:36poor white girls in Britain who
- 37:40were gang raped by Pakistani Muslim
- 37:44men. This report is hair-raising. And Father,
- 37:48I've seen it all in child welfare. I have never,
- 37:52ever in my life seen such brutality and monstrosity
- 37:56in criminal behavior that is coming to our shores. Folks,
- 38:00unless we speak and use our God-given voice
- 38:05and really embrace the Prince of Peace. I mean, Christ is the
- 38:09Prince of Peace. And that's— and that is why,
- 38:13you know, that is why we had popes battling Islam,
- 38:17because they knew that a Christian Europe would be a
- 38:21peaceful Europe. So, um, I think I, I really encourage people,
- 38:25um, I'm always posting on my Substack
- 38:29and also on my website resources resources for parents
- 38:33to read and to really educate, because it's coming to your school boards,
- 38:37it's coming to your local communities. It's time
- 38:40to get educated. And additionally is to
- 38:45really embrace Christianity, your Catholic faith,
- 38:48and that will give you the sacramental grace
- 38:53to do the battle that lies ahead, because I, you know, I fear we
- 38:57have a battle ahead of Yes. Well, no, we have to be courageous. I know
- 39:00there's a law under consideration in Massachusetts that's
- 39:04going to set up committees to ensure that Muslim children aren't bullied.
- 39:08I don't want anyone to be bullied, but why is there special protection for
- 39:13Muslims? That makes me wonder as well. Friends, we cannot afford
- 39:17to be naïve. We have to be well-informed.
- 39:21We're going to have some great resources in our show notes today.
- 39:25Liz Yore, thank you for a fascinating conversation.

- 41:21Praise be Jesus Christ. This is Father Robert McTeague of the Society of Jesus,
- 41:24your daily host for The Catholic Current, where we bring Christ to the world and
- 41:28the world to Christ. You're listening to us from the Station of the Cross studios,
- 41:30your local radio station, the iCatholic Radio mobile app. We proclaim the fullness
- 41:35of truth with clarity and charity. Well, here it is, the last segment of a
- 41:39Timely Tuesday. You know what that means— you and me sharing timely thoughts, reflecting on
- 41:42what we've heard today. My guest was Lizior,
- 41:46and we were taking a closer look at migration.
- 41:50As I'm recording this, I'm mindful of the fact that yesterday
- 41:54the governor of Massachusetts surrounded by
- 41:59a score of very smiling women,
- 42:02signed a bill into law, basically allowing
- 42:06abortion on demand with no trimester
- 42:11limit at all, and it joins a number of states. There are now 4 where
- 42:15you can have abortion on demand with no gestational limit,
- 42:19so it includes Alaska, Colorado, District of
- 42:23Columbia, Massachusetts, as of yesterday, Michigan,
- 42:26Minnesota, New Jersey— my home state— New Mexico,
- 42:29Oregon, and Vermont. And you might be asking, but Father,
- 42:33what does this have to do with migration? Well,
- 42:37I'm going to tell you something that was told to me several years ago by
- 42:40a person— let's just say is in a position to know these things— because
- 42:45he was talking about where church bureaucracies put their
- 42:49time and attention and energy. And he said, Father, you have to understand,
- 42:53there is no money in defending
- 42:57the unborn. There's a lot of money in
- 43:01processing migrants. Now, the bishops
- 43:05of Massachusetts, to their credit, denounced this law as
- 43:10a radical measure that's gravely immoral, talked about the
- 43:13sacred dignity of human beings, spoke of the sacred God given human
- 43:18dignity every life has from conception to natural death,
- 43:22renewed its opposition to late-term abortion,
- 43:25a call to action and pastoral accompaniment to
- 43:30people who are affected by abortion, find themselves in crises,
- 43:33etc. So they said and did a lot of the right things,
- 43:36so good for them. But what about this notion that there is
- 43:40a lot of money to be made in processing
- 43:44migrants. Well, I just found a new
- 43:49site called effort.news, and I'm looking at this story here.
- 43:52Listen to this title: The $1.2 Billion
- 43:56Refugee Services Program That Funds Pro-Asylum Religious
- 44:00Groups. And then the subtitle is: Financially,
- 44:04These Are Migrant Contractors with a Minor Stake in
- 44:08Churches. So I'm just going to read to you some of this
- 44:12story here so you can see where I'm going with it. The author says,
- 44:15in 2021, the Biden Health and Human Services Department gave
- 44:18$1.2 billion to the obscure
- 44:22Preferred Communities grant program, nearly 10
- 44:25times the money it received under the previous Trump administration.
- 44:29The purpose of these grants was to support the resettlement of
- 44:32especially vulnerable populations of newly arrived refugees in
- 44:36preferred locations. Well, gosh,
- 44:40you know, what kind of money are we talking about? Well, the US Conference
- 44:45of Catholic Bishops leads the way with $141 million,
- 44:49which, by the way, according to other numbers I'm
- 44:53looking at, was 80% of their annual
- 44:56budget. 80%. Now, 80% of
- 45:01one's budget, regardless of the size of a budget, that's That's a
- 45:04big chunk of the budget. Even I, humanities major
- 45:08that I am, can figure that
- 45:12out. So the observation according to the author is each of these organizations,
- 45:17including the USCCB, is now primarily funded
- 45:20through migrant resettlement grants. Financially,
- 45:24these religious organizations are migrant contractors with
- 45:28a minor stake in churches. Politically, they are fervent and
- 45:32frequently cited critics of Trump's immigration policies.
- 45:36Now, is it possible that their criticism
- 45:41of the Trump immigration policies has some
- 45:44financial basis to it? Now, I always have to say I'm
- 45:48not an apologist for any politician, any party, any platform.
- 45:52I agree with the Bible, put not your trust in princes. But is it
- 45:56inconceivable that one of the reasons
- 46:00that Catholic Charities, USCCB,
- 46:02Church World Service, Episcopal Migration Ministries,
- 46:07that they all hate Trump so very,
- 46:10very much is because he's turning off the financial
- 46:14spigot. Is it improbable that
- 46:19that's what's going on? Now,
- 46:21starting following the Ukraine war, the Department of
- 46:25Health and Human Services received $3.78 billion from for
- 46:30funding, uh, refugee settlement.
- 46:33And not all of it, not most
- 46:37of it, went to help war refugees from Ukraine.
- 46:42There was $1.99 billion that
- 46:47was for other populations. And so the question
- 46:51becomes, what are we doing here? What are we
- 46:55doing What does it mean when
- 46:59churchmen across denominations effectively,
- 47:05in terms of their business model, are primarily
- 47:12migration resettlement service agencies?
- 47:16Now, there was an observation in organizational psychology,
- 47:19goes back to the '70s, It says
- 47:22the purpose of an organization is what it does.
- 47:26The purpose of an organization is what it does. And it seems
- 47:30to me that for a lot of church institutions,
- 47:34especially Catholic ones, but not only Catholic ones,
- 47:37the purpose is to get government grants
- 47:41to process migrants,
- 47:44not defend the unborn, not defend the
- 47:49dignity of human life from conception to natural death, although we
- 47:52do talk a good game about that mostly, but it's to
- 47:56cash in on the largesse of processing migrants.
- 48:00Now, I have said in this venue very, very many times
- 48:05that a Christian community is in trouble when
- 48:08they start outsourcing the corporal works
- 48:13of mercy. To governments. When in effect, rather than
- 48:17feeding the poor and homeless ourselves through our charity and
- 48:21through religious communities, we start basically
- 48:25becoming employees of government institutions,
- 48:30taking our, our cut off the top and redistributing other
- 48:34people's wealth. Because government funds always,
- 48:38always, always comes with strings strings.
- 48:41Caesar holds the gold, and so
- 48:45Caesar makes the rules, and Caesar gives out
- 48:50coin only for his own purposes.
- 48:55And my question is, are we really so sure?
- 48:58Are we so very sure that
- 49:02the purposes of Caesar in distributing his gold to the
- 49:06church churches, the purposes of Caesar are in harmony
- 49:10with the gospel, with what Christ intended.
- 49:15And what does it say about the health and state— and I hate
- 49:20this word— vibrancy of our Christian communities when
- 49:24we can no longer perform the works of charity
- 49:28on our own and we have become absolutely,
- 49:32utterly dependent upon government largesse.
- 49:36I think we're failing. And I also have
- 49:40reason to believe that all these people administering these programs make a
- 49:43pretty nice living. There's the cautionary tale for Christians.
- 49:47So many Christians start out doing good and they end
- 49:51up doing well. So we have to look in the mirror, and then we have
- 49:55to examine it— we have to examine our conscience. I'm Jesuit Father Robert McTeague,
- 49:59your host here every day of The Catholic Current. Join us tomorrow for another episode.
