- 0:00Speaker 1: Time now for back to the basics and healthcare with
- 0:02Speaker 1: balance life chiropractic. We have doctor Harley with us. How
- 0:04Speaker 1: you doing doctor Harley.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Hey John, I'm doing good in yourself.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Very good. Last week we talked about knees, and the
- 0:09Speaker 1: knee bone is connected to the foot bone. Well not quite.
- 0:12Speaker 1: There's some stuff in between that, but those are somewhat related,
- 0:14Speaker 1: aren't they.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Right. I was like, oh, we talked about knees last week,
- 0:16Speaker 2: let's talk about feet. You know, people might not necessarily
- 0:19Speaker 2: correlate feet and chiropractic together, like ooh, I thought you
- 0:23Speaker 2: guys just worked on backs and you be touching my feet.
- 0:26Speaker 1: But there's there are some things that you know, if
- 0:28Speaker 1: you have issues with your feet, it can cause issues
- 0:30Speaker 1: all the way to the top right right.
- 0:32Speaker 2: And I actually got interested in chiropractic due to a
- 0:35Speaker 2: very severe ankle spring when I was in high school.
- 0:38Speaker 2: I was playing softball and rouning to go home, so
- 0:41Speaker 2: stepping on third base, I stepped on the base wrong,
- 0:44Speaker 2: and I rolled my ankle towards the inside and the outside,
- 0:47Speaker 2: so like both sides of it. And you know, that's
- 0:49Speaker 2: typically kind of a long recovery time. And you see
- 0:52Speaker 2: people in boots and crutches, and we had just are
- 0:54Speaker 2: the softball season, so I didn't want that to be
- 0:56Speaker 2: my season, right, So I had gotten my chiropractor you know,
- 0:59Speaker 2: the next day, and got adjusted throughout the week, and
- 1:03Speaker 2: good or not, I don't know, but it got me
- 1:05Speaker 2: back into playing. I was playing within a week, so
- 1:07Speaker 2: that was that was huge to me.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Heidi rolled her ankle. Ice was involved, and so is alcohol,
- 1:12Speaker 1: so it's a little different.
- 1:14Speaker 2: She was hobbling for a while, right, you know. So
- 1:16Speaker 2: we find that chiropractic can help increase your healing time,
- 1:20Speaker 2: so helping, you know, if it is a sports related injury,
- 1:22Speaker 2: get you back in the game faster. And you know,
- 1:25Speaker 2: this was fifteen years ago that this happened, so I
- 1:28Speaker 2: mean technologies head advanced. We have different ways of treating
- 1:32Speaker 2: things now. But like you we talked about last week,
- 1:34Speaker 2: making sure that those joints are in their proper location
- 1:37Speaker 2: is going to help make sure that they are healing properly. Versus,
- 1:41Speaker 2: if I hadn't had my ankle adjusted, I would have
- 1:42Speaker 2: still been walking around with it out of alignment and
- 1:45Speaker 2: would have delayed the healing process and.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Could have caused problems up the line too.
- 1:49Speaker 2: Right, you know, changing how you walk, which is gonna
- 1:52Speaker 2: affect your knee, which is gonna affect your hip, which
- 1:54Speaker 2: is gonna affect your whole spine because everything's connected to everything.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Some other foot related problems that people deal with. Plantar
- 2:01Speaker 2: fasciitis is a really common one. You get that kind
- 2:03Speaker 2: of pulling in the bottom of your foot or on
- 2:05Speaker 2: your heel. That's another thing that chiropractic can help with.
- 2:08Speaker 2: We can look at it. If your hips are out
- 2:09Speaker 2: of alignment, that's putting, that's causing the muscles in your
- 2:12Speaker 2: legs to be tightened a little bit differently affecting your knees, calves,
- 2:16Speaker 2: ankle's foot. So you know, all of it's in connection
- 2:18Speaker 2: with each other. So as long as we make sure
- 2:19Speaker 2: that everything's moving and like it's supposed to, we're not
- 2:23Speaker 2: having extra tension areas we shouldn't have it. That can
- 2:26Speaker 2: help with that plant fasciitis as well. As you know,
- 2:29Speaker 2: we can adjust the bones in your feet. There's a
- 2:31Speaker 2: lot of little bones in there that can get moved
- 2:33Speaker 2: out only if you step wrong or kick something. Wearing
- 2:37Speaker 2: improper footwear. That kind of stuff can all affect that
- 2:40Speaker 2: as well. So the next time everything about going to
- 2:43Speaker 2: the chiropractor. You might think about having your feet adjusted
- 2:45Speaker 2: or looked at if you're having foot problems, if.
- 2:47Speaker 1: You have pain a foot or pain in your foot,
- 2:50Speaker 1: that would be a good thing to bring up and
- 2:52Speaker 1: chat with them.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Now.
- 2:52Speaker 1: If they don't have a chiropractor, encourage they reach out
- 2:54Speaker 1: to you.
