- 0:00Hanan: Welcome back, everyone, to another episode of Obnoxiously Pleasant.
- 0:04Hanan: This is Lina's favorite part.
- 0:06Hanan: Um, so staying on top of the fact that we are gonna do this.
- 0:10Hanan: Like we decided last week.
- 0:11Hanan: Here we are again filming.
- 0:12Hanan: Um, and we wanted to talk this week about, you know, things that are stressing us out.
- 0:16Hanan: Because I'm sure everybody is feeling a little stressed these days.
- 0:19Speaker: A little.
- 0:20Hanan: A lot.
- 0:20Hanan: Yeah.
- 0:21Hanan: So um, yeah.
- 0:22Hanan: So, anyways, I um I had sometime in the beginning of the week uh talked to Lina and decided, you know, I don't know why things aren't working out the way I want them to.
- 0:32Hanan: And if they continue this way, I'm moving to the south of any country as long as it's warm.
- 0:36Hanan: I haven't figured it out yet which country.
- 0:38Hanan: And I'm gonna sell bread.
- 0:39Hanan: You know I'm gonna sell bread?
- 0:40Lina: Everybody fucking likes bread.
- 0:41Lina: Okay, likes bread.
- 0:43Lina: I mean, selling bread is better than selling pictures of your feet.
- 0:45Hanan: So yeah, and I feel like here's the thing though, I have one small minor issue.
- 0:49Hanan: I don't know how to make bread, but I feel like I could learn.
- 0:51Hanan: You could learn.
- 0:52Hanan: I feel like I could learn, right?
- 0:53Hanan: Okay, but I do feel like that's the um and was actually talking about it this week with my sister, like all of these like ridiculous non-emergency emergencies, and we had spoken about this before.
- 1:06Hanan: I think that's really what causes stress like throughout the week.
- 1:10Hanan: People's lack of like decision making, the fact that they like their laziness is what becomes somebody else's stress, right?
- 1:18Hanan: So, yeah, this week was a little bit stressful.
- 1:21Lina: Okay, so here's what I'm gonna do.
- 1:22Lina: Yeah, I'm gonna time you.
- 1:23Lina: I'm gonna give you a 60-second timer, and you gotta tell me one thing that's really stressing you out.
- 1:29Hanan: One thing that's really stressing out.
- 1:30Lina: And then after you do yours, I'll do mine.
- 1:33Hanan: Okay.
- 1:33Hanan: One thing that's really stressing me out.
- 1:35Hanan: Yes.
- 1:35Lina: And let me know when you're ready to start so I can time you because you're not allowed to go over 60 seconds.
- 1:38Lina: Over 60 seconds?
- 1:39Lina: Yeah.
- 1:39Lina: I don't know, you guys, I ramble a lot.
- 1:41Lina: Like that's.
- 1:41Hanan: Oh, that's why.
- 1:42Hanan: That's how we're doing that.
- 1:42Hanan: That's my art.
- 1:43Hanan: Like, that's where I you have you you opened your calculator.
- 1:46Hanan: She opened her calculator to time me.
- 1:49Hanan: But no, before we get started, really, in all seriousness, I wanted to take some time this week to discuss when we say stress, like, yes, everybody is really, really stressed, right?
- 1:58Hanan: And we all have different stresses.
- 2:00Hanan: I like to remind myself that I am thankful for the things that I have.
- 2:03Hanan: At the same time, I I feel like I feel like that I feel like this year has really been difficult.
- 2:10Hanan: It's really been a very it's not just like regular stress, like I wake up and I the things I do for the day.
- 2:17Hanan: No, it's been a really, really difficult year.
- 2:19Hanan: Like, and when I when I put grief aside, right?
- 2:22Hanan: Like this year started off on the first day of the year with me losing my dad.
- 2:26Hanan: So putting grief aside, um, just everyday life's happenings, right?
- 2:31Hanan: The people that you think you can count on and you know, you don't really, you know, you realize you really can't count on them.
- 2:36Hanan: I'm not talking about you, obviously.
- 2:37Hanan: Obviously.
- 2:37Hanan: Yeah, but you know, you kind of learn, um I don't know how to, I don't know how to explain it.
- 2:44Hanan: Like, and and maybe it's my wise age of 46, right?
- 2:47Hanan: Because I turned 46 in August.
- 2:48Hanan: Um, you you kind of learn that you really need and and I'm not my wise age, but like, and it's not even boundaries that I life has a lot of rules, and for a long time I feel like this is like that.
- 3:01Hanan: I wasn't living by any of them.
- 3:02Hanan: I feel like this is the first year that I have to like abide by a lot of like the weird like rules that life puts in front of us, right?
- 3:09Hanan: Okay.
- 3:09Hanan: So maybe that's why I'm stressed.
- 3:12Lina: So you don't have one specific thing.
- 3:14Hanan: No, I don't have I the this year.
- 3:16Hanan: You know what it is, honestly, when I'm stressed about this year.
- 3:18Lina: You definitely went over the minute mark.
- 3:19Hanan: No, it's fine.
- 3:20Hanan: It's it's it's it's change.
- 3:21Hanan: I had a lot of change this year.
- 3:23Hanan: That's true.
- 3:23Hanan: That's what's stressing me out.
- 3:24Hanan: Like, if I really stop and I think about it, all of these things I'm going through could be bucketed under change.
- 3:29Hanan: I I, you know, the grief.
- 3:32Hanan: One of my children is now an adult, right?
- 3:34Hanan: Like he's forging his own way.
- 3:35Hanan: So my child.
- 3:37Hanan: Technically, on paper, he's not.
- 3:39Hanan: Yes, I understand.
- 3:40Hanan: And that's a big thing because trying to help somebody understand that they're no longer viewed in the eyes of the government as a child is a huge thing.
- 3:48Hanan: And you'll realize this when your kids reach that milestone.
- 3:52Hanan: Because yes, they are still children, but nobody else sees them that way because on paper, they're not kids anymore, right?
- 3:59Hanan: And uh there's a lot of change that happens within you because there's so much that you need to let go of, right?
- 4:04Hanan: In order to let them make their own path in life, but also have them, you know, stay close by.
- 4:09Hanan: It's change.
- 4:12Hanan: There's so much change, but also the part of me is like it's so much change that I'm not like I most of the time I'm like prepared for stuff.
- 4:20Hanan: This year I was really unprepared for everything.
- 4:23Lina: Okay.
- 4:23Lina: For me, I'm worried about whether or not I have fibromyalgia.
- 4:29Hanan: Yeah.
- 4:29Lina: Like everything freaking hurts.
- 4:31Hanan: Yeah.
- 4:31Lina: All right.
- 4:32Lina: And then like the whole AI situation.
- 4:35Lina: Yeah, that's another.
- 4:36Lina: Like, you know, like it's constantly like at the back.
- 4:38Lina: I'm like, are we gonna have water?
- 4:40Hanan: Yeah, that's a big thing.
- 4:41Hanan: And it's funny, I'm glad that you say that because you saw the article yesterday from the Anthropic Founder that he was like, we need to slow down the production of AI.
- 4:47Lina: Yeah, they say, I don't know, man.
- 4:48Lina: I don't trust any of these people.
- 4:49Lina: It's just like there's so many things going on, like there's just so many things happening all at once.
- 4:54Lina: And I'm just like, are we gonna survive?
- 4:56Hanan: So do you feel like your stress is internal or external?
- 5:00Lina: What is that?
- 5:00Lina: Like, how would you like it?
- 5:01Hanan: Like, is it is it elements of your life that are causing you stress, or is it elements outside of your life?
- 5:06Lina: No, I think mostly it's outside.
- 5:08Lina: There's some stuff that's inside, obviously.
- 5:09Lina: Like, I'm always like in pain.
- 5:10Lina: I'm like, why am I in pain?
- 5:11Lina: Yeah, like I don't understand.
- 5:13Lina: And I'm like, I try to sleep, like, okay, that's another thing.
- 5:15Lina: Like, I'm always worried, am I getting enough sleep?
- 5:17Lina: Am I drinking enough water?
- 5:19Lina: I mean, is it is it is this part of the age?
- 5:21Hanan: It is part of if it is part of the age, but I also think it's because we don't, we never really focus on, and that's what I mean.
- 5:26Hanan: Like when I said earlier, like there's a lot of like life's rules that I feel like I didn't play by.
- 5:30Hanan: And I feel like what you're mentioning right now is a huge thing because that's something that you know how like like say like in your 20s or even 30s, if something hurt, you just gotta freaking power through it.
- 5:41Hanan: That's true.
- 5:41Hanan: You don't feel like we can do it anymore.
- 5:43Lina: No, no, now it's like if something I'm like, oh my God, is it that's it, is it happening?
- 5:47Lina: Is it happening?
- 5:48Lina: Like, if I like have like a weird like um like pinch or something, I'm like, oh my god, is it happening?
- 5:55Lina: Is it it's happening?
- 5:56Lina: No, it's not happening.
- 5:57Lina: I don't know, man.
- 5:58Lina: I think like when you you're right, when we were younger, we didn't really worry so much about this stuff.
- 6:03Hanan: But it is it is partly your age and it's also your anxiety.
- 6:06Lina: No, anxiety, definitely.
- 6:07Lina: It's also your anxiety.
- 6:08Lina: I try my best, man, but I'm telling you, like, there's some random stuff, and I'm just like, I don't want to think about it.
- 6:12Lina: And then, like, you know what?
- 6:13Hanan: When I went to the concert with my son, yeah, I realized like you know, tell them what concert you went to because I think it's awesome.
- 6:20Lina: Mega Death and Iron Maiden.
- 6:21Hanan: Her 16-year-old son, that's what he wanted to go see, which I thought was amazing.
- 6:24Lina: I was kind of worried about it, but I honestly had fun.
- 6:26Lina: Which is great.
- 6:27Lina: That's wonderful.
- 6:27Lina: In person, they were they're amazing.
- 6:30Lina: And I'm actually shocked.
- 6:31Lina: I was telling you how I was shocked at how nice Bruce Dickinson's voice still is.
- 6:35Lina: Yeah, he's like 70 years old, 69 or 70 years old, you know, and they have a lot of energy.
- 6:39Lina: I'm like, how do they have energy?
- 6:40Lina: I'm like, and I'm sitting here, I'm like yawning, and I'm like, when is this thing on?
- 6:44Lina: But it was it was great.
- 6:45Lina: But when I was there and I was in the moment and I was having fun, I noticed something.
- 6:49Lina: Yeah, I didn't have any pain, aches, or pains.
- 6:52Lina: Yeah, yeah.
- 6:52Lina: You know, I think look, we like I was like, oh my god, maybe I'm I'm overthinking.
- 6:56Lina: It is your mind.
- 6:57Lina: It's like the anxiety, and like I'm just there in the moment, we're having fun.
- 7:00Hanan: And think about it like this, Lina.
- 7:01Hanan: You're somebody who you make fun of me that I worry.
- 7:03Hanan: You worry a lot.
- 7:04Lina: Oh no, no, trust me, trust me.
- 7:06Lina: I know I have anxiety.
- 7:07Hanan: Yeah, no, no, it's not about just having anxiety.
- 7:09Hanan: I think you sometimes underestimate the things that you worry about.
- 7:13Hanan: Does that make sense?
- 7:14Hanan: Like, I think you're always like, I am very like about my when something is bothering me, and Lena's not like that.
- 7:21Hanan: So I think when you're somebody who is constantly carrying this, and and it's not about being supported or unsupported.
- 7:28Hanan: It's just it's just how we are as humans.
- 7:29Hanan: Some humans, like me, we talk about our feelings and we're like, you know, and immediately like on my person it shows, I think you try to fight so hard the the feelings of anxiety that you have, yeah, that it actually eats away at your insides.
- 7:43Lina: I think so.
- 7:44Lina: I think you're right about that.
- 7:44Lina: Like I'm feeling it physically because I'm talking about like everything, there's like a new ache and pain.
- 7:48Hanan: Like, think about it like this.
- 7:49Hanan: Let's just think about it like this.
- 7:51Hanan: When two people that you love very much in your in your life fight, it upsets you.
- 7:56Hanan: Of course.
- 7:56Hanan: It upsets you a lot, but I think you you even have a hard time talking about it because but then what ends up happening is those thoughts just like they they eat away, they they're internalized, they eat away at your soul, and then your shoulder all of a sudden hurts.
- 8:09Hanan: My god, don't about my shoulder.
- 8:11Lina: You know what I did yesterday?
- 8:12Lina: I like I got this like heating pad specifically for for shoulders and for neck because I was reading online in order in order to get rid of the knots, do like a heating pad, and then like you can like massage it with like a tennis ball on the wall or whatever.
- 8:23Lina: Because I I'm like, I don't understand why this is happening.
- 8:26Lina: Like, I'm trying to sleep better.
- 8:27Hanan: You need to go to physical therapy.
- 8:29Hanan: Physical therapy really helps.
- 8:30Lina: I've done that so much.
- 8:31Lina: Anyway, let's move on.
- 8:33Hanan: Um, why see when we talk about her feelings?
- 8:35Hanan: This is exactly what happens the minute we start talking about her feelings.
- 8:39Hanan: She's like, Okay, we're done.
- 8:40Hanan: Let's move on.
- 8:41Hanan: Okay, now listen.
- 8:42Hanan: You know, I'm a little upset about something.
- 8:43Hanan: What?
- 8:44Hanan: I changed my hair color.
- 8:44Hanan: You didn't even notice.
- 8:47Lina: You know, I was looking at it and then looking at it.
- 8:49Hanan: I literally just did my hair.
- 8:51Hanan: No compliments, no, oh my god, it looks different.
- 8:54Lina: Mashallah, mashallah.
- 8:55Lina: It is, I was gonna say you're not gonna be.
- 8:57Hanan: Guys, even my husband noticed.
- 8:59Lina: Yeah, I need to do it.
- 9:00Hanan: But actually, I gotta give it to him.
- 9:01Hanan: He notices all the time.
- 9:02Hanan: He's like, You did something different with your hair.
- 9:04Hanan: I'm like, Wallahi, I swear to God, no joke.
- 9:07Lina: When you came in, I'm like, her hair is really nice, faking.
- 9:10Lina: But you know when I'm when I'm here, I'm causing thinking I'm like, I gotta set up, I gotta do one, two, three.
- 9:14Hanan: So like And we usually when Lina comes over, we're just like, get into it.
- 9:16Hanan: Like I'm ready and I'm like, sit down.
- 9:18Lina: And most of the time I talk trash to her about like, oh, we need to, you're hydrated today, you moisturize.
- 9:23Lina: Or like you really need to go get some Botox every single time.
- 9:27Lina: I am not, don't make don't tell them that I like so they don't think I'm trying to force this shit on you, okay?
- 9:32Lina: Yeah, she's always trying to push Botox on me, guys.
- 9:36Hanan: I am not trying to push Botox on her.
- 9:37Hanan: Whatever.
- 9:38Lina: Anyway, let's let's do something a little bit not as serious.
- 9:41Hanan: Okay.
- 9:41Lina: Okay, so like, you know, we there are some real things that are actually stressful.
- 9:45Lina: Yes.
- 9:46Hanan: But there are some things that are more of like And my husband told me that this week because I was upset.
- 9:50Hanan: So, like, you know, there like with my work, there's like change, and you know, I've spent a year of working for myself.
- 9:56Hanan: I love it and hate it.
- 9:57Hanan: I'm not gonna like, you know, even pretend like it's the best thing ever.
- 10:00Hanan: It's very stressful, also.
- 10:02Hanan: And so there were like major changes happening, and he looks at me and he goes, none of these are catastrophic.
- 10:08Lina: Yeah, that's the thing.
- 10:09Lina: Like, so this is what what I want to talk about now are things that are just mentally occupying that space.
- 10:14Lina: Okay.
- 10:14Lina: Like, like, okay, so for example, you know, like you have a browser open, you have so many tabs, right?
- 10:19Lina: Oh, we have like 850,000 tabs open in my brain.
- 10:22Lina: Okay, so tell me, give me, give me a couple.
- 10:25Hanan: Okay, so for example, when we first sat down, I was like, oh my god, I forgot to make my my my gas payment.
- 10:30Hanan: Okay, so there is that.
- 10:32Hanan: I have been looking at these like two like you know, skincare products that I've been researching, and the same tab has been open on my phone for six weeks.
- 10:41Lina: And on in your mind.
- 10:42Lina: And in my mind.
- 10:43Hanan: And I haven't been able to do anything about them.
- 10:45Lina: In addition to that, I'm like why is it like why is it an issue though?
- 10:48Hanan: I decided I haven't decided.
- 10:49Hanan: I want to look at the ingredients, I want to see if it's something I want.
- 10:51Lina: And then in addition to that-shake it doesn't fund Zionism.
- 10:54Hanan: That's the other part, like when I when I go in on because I like to research whatever it is I'm buying.
- 10:58Hanan: And then on Friday, I'm chaperoning a field trip for a bunch of sixth graders, including my child.
- 11:03Hanan: So now I'm thinking about that too.
- 11:04Hanan: And I thought it was one thing, turned out to be something completely different.
- 11:07Hanan: So now I'm stressed.
- 11:08Hanan: Okay.
- 11:09Hanan: Um, yeah, that's just, you know, in addition to just, you know, things I have to do at work.
- 11:14Hanan: And then I start off my week every, you know, Monday at 9:30 with therapy.
- 11:18Hanan: So, like, what am I gonna?
- 11:19Hanan: I have to think of myself, like, where did we leave off?
- 11:21Hanan: Or even though my therapist is really good at reminding me where we left off so we can pick up again.
- 11:24Hanan: So there's a lot of tabs open.
- 11:26Hanan: There's a lot of tabs open.
- 11:27Lina: Do you want me to tell you what my what tabs I have in my brain?
- 11:29Lina: Okay, first thing is what am I cooking tonight?
- 11:31Lina: Because no one else is gonna do it.
- 11:32Lina: Always.
- 11:33Lina: Um, and how I needed to make a dentist appointment.
- 11:35Lina: That's another one.
- 11:36Lina: Yeah.
- 11:37Lina: Uh, and how I need to get back to working out.
- 11:39Lina: Like every day I wake up.
- 11:40Lina: I'm like, if I work out, will it be better?
- 11:42Lina: Like maybe, maybe like the muscle spasm.
- 11:44Lina: I'm like, I need to get off my ass and go work out.
- 11:46Lina: Okay, that's like every day I think about this.
- 11:48Lina: And then I'm like, oh, I need to wash my hair.
- 11:50Lina: Like I have to like plan it in the week.
- 11:52Lina: I'm like, when do I I I feel us as women, the washing of the hair is constantly on the hair.
- 11:58Hanan: It is something that's always on our mind.
- 12:00Hanan: But I but I always wonder, like, why, but I also think it's because like we do things to our hair.
- 12:04Lina: Yeah.
- 12:04Hanan: You know?
- 12:05Lina: It's a whole process, honey.
- 12:06Hanan: But I know that we're not the only women out there who think about that.
- 12:08Lina: The hair thing is crazy.
- 12:09Lina: The amount of time I think we spend on when are we gonna wash our hair.
- 12:13Hanan: Should we just shave our heads?
- 12:14Lina: I wish.
- 12:14Lina: I'm gonna I totally get what's her name, Brittany Spears now.
- 12:17Lina: After all these years, I'm like, sometimes you just gotta shave it all off.
- 12:20Hanan: No, she was she was having a mental health.
- 12:22Lina: I know, but I mean, like, seriously, like sometimes you need to shave your head off.
- 12:26Hanan: I don't know if I want to do your hair off.
- 12:28Hanan: I mean, I don't know.
- 12:30Hanan: I don't know.
- 12:31Hanan: Like, I I think about that and I don't know what the attack so liberate.
- 12:35Hanan: I don't I don't know what the attachment is, but I feel like I'd be weird without him.
- 12:38Lina: I was telling my sister about this and she's like, you know, we need to just eat the hijab.
- 12:42Lina: She's like, there is that.
- 12:46Lina: She's like, you know, we need to stop messing around and actually like maybe just consider it.
- 12:50Lina: I'm like, inshallah, yeah.
- 12:52Lina: Um, the other thing is how I need to drink more water.
- 12:54Lina: That's constantly on the back of my mind.
- 12:55Hanan: Why are you not drinking water?
- 12:56Lina: Because like that's the thing.
- 12:57Lina: I'm like, I need to drink more water.
- 12:58Hanan: No, no, but why don't you just make it like an why are you why are you letting it stress you out so much that you need to drink water?
- 13:04Hanan: Why don't you just have a water bottle with you?
- 13:06Lina: So I do.
- 13:06Lina: I have a bottle of water at work, I do, but I'm just like, I need to do more.
- 13:09Lina: Like it's constantly at the end of the water.
- 13:10Hanan: Why do you need no, but like so here's the thing never in my life, as I it is in my 40s, have I feel like water and protein have been pushed on me like drugs.
- 13:19Hanan: I drink water, protein, especially.
- 13:21Hanan: Yeah, but I also feel like your body kind of craves the things it needs.
- 13:24Hanan: And maybe I'm wrong.
- 13:25Hanan: Maybe that's like very, like, uh, that's a very old way of thinking about it.
- 13:29Hanan: But there are days when I wake up genuinely and I'm like, God, I really need a banana today.
- 13:32Hanan: Or I really, oh my god, I would love to have like some watermelon.
- 13:36Hanan: Something like that.
- 13:36Hanan: I feel like your body kind of lets you know, like, hey, I need the things that are.
- 13:40Hanan: And then there are days where I'm like, oh, today I'd love to eat a steak, right?
- 13:43Hanan: Yeah.
- 13:43Hanan: Or like a really solid, like.
- 13:44Hanan: Never have I ever said that though.
- 13:46Hanan: Okay.
- 13:46Hanan: You have when you, when you're pregnant, you said I really want to eat meat.
- 13:48Hanan: That's true.
- 13:48Hanan: Yeah, I really want to eat meat.
- 13:49Hanan: Yeah, yeah.
- 13:50Hanan: But but that's probably because your body needed the iron.
- 13:52Hanan: But I feel like like that, I don't know why the water stresses you, but I think I know because if you think that all of your physical ailments, you know, are linked to your lack of drinking water, consuming protein, or working out, then yeah, that tab would definitely be open in my brain, too.
- 14:09Lina: There's a lot of people.
- 14:10Hanan: But I also feel like, do you get out and move?
- 14:12Lina: I try to walk.
- 14:13Hanan: You try, but I feel like in general, even when we do it.
- 14:16Lina: I need to go back.
- 14:16Lina: Like, I used to exercise all the time.
- 14:17Lina: I'm just like, ugh, I need to get back.
- 14:19Lina: I need to get back to doing that.
- 14:20Hanan: But I also think exercising is good, uh, like for your mental health in general.
- 14:25Hanan: More than your physical health.
- 14:27Lina: I like listen, there like it's it's you know, it's been a few months.
- 14:30Lina: I need to give my ass back.
- 14:32Lina: And I never go to the gym either.
- 14:34Lina: I hate going to the gym.
- 14:34Lina: Like, I'll go for a walk, I'll go play tennis, stuff like that.
- 14:37Lina: But yeah, it doesn't matter.
- 14:38Lina: Yeah, I I'm just I'm over the whole gym thing.
- 14:41Lina: I was never, I was never understanding this is always sending me.
- 14:44Hanan: I was never under the gym thing.
- 14:45Lina: So yeah, they're like, come back for a dollar.
- 14:47Lina: I'm like, I don't want to come back, even if it's for free.
- 14:50Hanan: I I feel like a lot of I I know you keep saying, like, you know, you're gonna get back to the gym and you're gonna do all of that, but I feel like a lot of it more than anything else for you is mental.
- 14:58Hanan: I think there's also changes happening for you.
- 15:00Hanan: And the problem is you don't really talk about them.
- 15:04Hanan: You internalize things that you're upset about.
- 15:05Hanan: You do.
- 15:06Lina: I talk to you sometimes.
- 15:07Hanan: Yeah, but most for most of the for the most part, you internalize how you feel, but I think that slowly eats away at you.
- 15:13Hanan: I think that's why you have these physical ailments.
- 15:15Hanan: I swear to God.
- 15:16Lina: And this is why she's my best friend because she gets me.
- 15:18Lina: She gets it.
- 15:18Lina: Yeah, because it's true.
- 15:19Lina: Like she's very well.
- 15:20Hanan: And honestly, I think it's that's just some, that's just, you know, I always say, like, that's certain people are like that.
- 15:25Hanan: It's very hard.
- 15:26Hanan: And I feel like so.
- 15:28Hanan: I know like I like to talk about my feelings, and sometimes I talk things to death, but I know it makes me feel better when I get it all out.
- 15:34Hanan: And then some people, like I think for you, sometimes when you when something's really bothering you and you say it out loud, it makes you upset because you're like, holy shit, this is real.
- 15:43Speaker: Yeah, and I absolutely hate it.
- 15:45Hanan: Yeah, it's it's real and I hate it.
- 15:46Hanan: And so there's a few things I can think about with you that are like that, but it's normal.
- 15:50Hanan: Like and it's not like about it's not like that you're in denial, you don't know.
- 15:53Hanan: No, no, no, no.
- 15:54Hanan: But I think it's just it's weird.
- 15:56Hanan: It's like sometimes everybody's brain processes things differently.
- 15:59Hanan: And um, like I learned in therapy that when I talk about things, it's helpful, even though like for my husband, for example, he's just like we talked about this.
- 16:07Hanan: I don't want to talk about it anymore.
- 16:08Hanan: Um, but it really helps me.
- 16:11Hanan: Um, that's how I process my feelings by saying things out loud, by saying the things that bother me, by you know, which is why like having and being in therapy is great because that's you know what that's what you pay somebody for, um, instead of like punishing the people in your lives.
- 16:24Hanan: Um that's funny, but it's true, like not everybody has the same capacity, you know?
- 16:29Hanan: And I I've learned something about myself that like if I stay busy, and she's funny, she said something really interesting to me.
- 16:35Hanan: She's like, you've almost kind of weaponized your um like your like your your ADHD.
- 16:42Hanan: She she's trying to diagnose me, by the way.
- 16:45Hanan: She she's very convinced that I have undiagnosed ADHD, and she's working towards that.
- 16:49Hanan: Whether it's good or bad, I don't, I think it really doesn't make a difference.
- 16:53Hanan: But I think for her, she's like, I can definitely see that.
- 16:55Hanan: But she's like, it's interesting the way that you operate.
- 16:58Hanan: Um, but also what I've learned is some people who don't talk about their feelings, um, they it's not that they don't feel their feelings or they don't process it.
- 17:08Hanan: It's just that every time it's weird.
- 17:10Hanan: There's like a scientific thing.
- 17:11Hanan: She explained it to me that when you talk about it out loud, it almost is like a shock to your brain every time.
- 17:17Hanan: That it's like a like a like like an electric shock or something that you're just like, I for a minute there, I forgot about this.
- 17:24Hanan: And then when you talk about it out loud, it's a reminder again.
- 17:27Lina: Part of it is having to confront the reality.
- 17:29Hanan: That, and I think it's also like um a lot of a problem with confronting reality.
- 17:34Lina: But that's what I'm saying.
- 17:34Hanan: I don't think you're delusional.
- 17:35Hanan: I think it's just you process your feelings very look when you internalize stuff and then it comes out, you talk about it out loud, it makes it one, very real.
- 17:44Hanan: Two, it's almost like hearing yourself say this.
- 17:48Hanan: You become very upset by yourself being in this situation, by the people around you that have now put you in this situation.
- 17:54Lina: But anyway, listen, this is great.
- 17:56Lina: Thank you for the like um analysis.
- 17:59Hanan: Yeah, I can do I only I do what I can, I do it for the people.
- 18:02Lina: Okay, so we're gonna play this game.
- 18:03Lina: Okay, okay, we're gonna make this fun.
- 18:05Hanan: All right.
- 18:05Lina: All right, so I'm gonna give you a scenario.
- 18:07Lina: Okay, and you have to like because we also look here, there are some real things that are there are some things that are really stressful.
- 18:14Hanan: As my husband tells me, it's not catastrophic.
- 18:16Lina: Yeah, but there are some things that aren't.
- 18:18Lina: And I think we need to be able to kind of like uh take a minute, sit down.
- 18:21Lina: Absolutely and think, hey guys, it do I does this really deserve this much?
- 18:25Lina: Yeah, yeah, like worry or whatever.
- 18:27Lina: So I'm gonna give you some scenarios, you're gonna tell me whether it's a legitimate problem.
- 18:31Lina: Uh-huh.
- 18:31Lina: It's an inconvenience, okay, or it's first world nonsense.
- 18:35Lina: Okay.
- 18:35Lina: Or something you definitely need therapy for.
- 18:37Hanan: Okay.
- 18:37Lina: I mean, whatever.
- 18:38Lina: Okay.
- 18:39Lina: Basically, is it legit?
- 18:40Lina: Is it something to be legitimately stressed about?
- 18:43Lina: Yeah.
- 18:43Hanan: So I okay, fine.
- 18:44Hanan: Let's start because I feel like some things that's legitimate legitimately stressful for me may not be for you and vice versa, and other people, but okay.
- 18:50Hanan: Okay, so your boss says, can we chat?
- 18:53Hanan: I mean, I find that to be very stressful because I don't like open, like, just tell me if what are you what are we talking about?
- 18:59Hanan: Yeah.
- 19:00Hanan: For me, that's stressful, but I feel like that's also the like when I think about it, it's triggering for me or it stresses me out.
- 19:08Hanan: Because think about the way that we were raised.
- 19:10Hanan: And it's not about our parents specifically, it's about the culture we're raised in, the society we were raised in.
- 19:15Hanan: There are a lot of things that um there was a lot of unspoken rules.
- 19:20Hanan: And then if somebody made a like if somebody said a sentence to you or give you a specific look or did a gesture, gesture, that meant a lot of things, and it would leave you sort of discombobulated.
- 19:32Hanan: So I kind of I kind of like equate that with we need to chat with that.
- 19:38Lina: I'd be worried, kind of, but like I think you had this moment when we first started working together, like someone said, and I'm like, I know, why are you worried?
- 19:43Lina: Like maybe he just wants to talk about something random.
- 19:45Lina: And you're like, oh my god, no, I need to go see him right now.
- 19:48Hanan: Yeah, nobody nobody ever wants to talk about something random.
- 19:49Hanan: But okay.
- 19:50Lina: All right.
- 19:51Lina: Um, here this is kind of funny.
- 19:52Lina: You accidentally liked an old Instagram post.
- 19:56Lina: So clearly.
- 19:57Hanan: Oh, I don't care about that.
- 19:58Lina: So you clearly you were stalking someone.
- 20:00Hanan: Oh, that's fine.
- 20:00Hanan: I don't care about that.
- 20:01Hanan: They can know I'm stalking them.
- 20:02Lina: Okay, so you don't care about that?
- 20:03Hanan: I would say I think it's I think it depends on what I'm saying.
- 20:05Lina: But this is this, is this is this is not like an actual stressful situation.
- 20:09Hanan: This is just like I think it just depends on like who the person is, I guess, and why you're stalking them.
- 20:14Hanan: If it's a random person, I'm like, who cares?
- 20:15Hanan: They can know I like their stuff.
- 20:16Lina: Yeah, I think it's just an inconvenience.
- 20:18Lina: It is more than anything else, yeah.
- 20:20Lina: Okay, um, someone canceling plans the day before.
- 20:24Hanan: I don't care.
- 20:24Hanan: People cancel plans all the time.
- 20:26Lina: Yeah, I don't care about that.
- 20:26Hanan: I cancel plans all the time.
- 20:27Hanan: I mean, yeah, I'm not great.
- 20:29Hanan: No, it's not even about that.
- 20:30Hanan: I just, you know, I'm like, whatever, give people grace.
- 20:32Hanan: If they want to make it, they can make it.
- 20:34Hanan: If they can't, they can't.
- 20:35Hanan: Okay, it is what it is.
- 20:36Lina: You have plans two weekends in a row.
- 20:38Hanan: No, I'm fine with that.
- 20:38Lina: That's that's that that would that would stress me out.
- 20:41Hanan: That would stress you.
- 20:41Hanan: It also stresses it also stresses my husband out.
- 20:43Lina: It stresses me out.
- 20:44Lina: Like the whole like, for example, Friday, like the whole day, the whole day.
- 20:47Lina: I'm like, oh my god, I gotta like do this.
- 20:48Lina: We have to go to the concert.
- 20:50Lina: Oh my god, I gotta get this ready by this time.
- 20:51Lina: I'm just like, ugh, like the whole day, the night before.
- 20:54Lina: It's fine.
- 20:55Hanan: It's funny, it's funny.
- 20:56Hanan: It stresses you out, it stresses Mahmoud.
- 20:57Hanan: And Mahmoud's just like, my weekends are supposed to be like my chill time.
- 21:00Hanan: I want to move up.
- 21:01Hanan: It's the only time I'm gonna do it.
- 21:01Hanan: I don't want to do anything.
- 21:02Hanan: I don't want that.
- 21:04Lina: Like one event a weekend is good.
- 21:06Lina: I can't do more than that.
- 21:07Lina: And it can't be every weekend either.
- 21:09Hanan: We didn't even have anything yesterday.
- 21:10Hanan: Yeah, like it was super chill.
- 21:11Lina: No, for me, that's a legitimate, like stressful situation for me.
- 21:14Lina: Okay, for you, clearly not, because you do that like every day.
- 21:17Lina: Um, okay, you're out and your credit card gets declined.
- 21:20Lina: Oh no, that's fine.
- 21:22Lina: It's just an inconvenience, right?
- 21:23Lina: More than anything.
- 21:24Hanan: Yeah, there's still there's another one to use.
- 21:25Hanan: And honestly, a lot of times it's like sometimes something's wrong with the reader.
- 21:28Hanan: Sometimes sometimes I have done it multiple times where I you get the new card in the mail and I put it in my wallet, and I forget to take out the old card, like the one that's expired.
- 21:39Hanan: Yeah, so I'm tapping the one that's expired like crazy, and then I'm like, oh, sorry.
- 21:43Lina: You know, it doesn't matter.
- 21:44Lina: This is something that I could relate to.
- 21:46Lina: Your flight is delayed, and you have a connection.
- 21:48Lina: That is stressful.
- 21:49Lina: Yeah, that's inconvenient.
- 21:50Lina: No, for me, that's that was stressful.
- 21:52Lina: I'm still like I haven't fully recovered from no, I think it's inconvenient.
- 21:56Hanan: I don't care.
- 21:56Hanan: It's I was stressed.
- 21:57Lina: I'm like I don't like to be late.
- 21:58Lina: I like to when they tell me it's Gonna get there.
- 22:00Lina: I get it.
- 22:00Lina: There's like things like that.
- 22:01Lina: We'll have a Euro summer.
- 22:02Lina: It's fine.
- 22:03Lina: Yeah, no, that stresses me out.
- 22:05Lina: I don't know.
- 22:06Lina: I don't like that.
- 22:07Lina: Okay.
- 22:07Lina: You have a hundred un hundreds of unread emails.
- 22:10Hanan: Oh, that's me.
- 22:11Hanan: Although I don't care.
- 22:12Lina: That stresses me out.
- 22:13Lina: Really?
- 22:13Lina: I cannot.
- 22:14Lina: My inbox has to be like my work inbox has to be zero by the end of the day.
- 22:20Hanan: Uh I just can't.
- 22:21Lina: How many emails do you have?
- 22:23Hanan: Well, so uh let's see.
- 22:28Hanan: I write, ready?
- 22:30Hanan: 1,011.
- 22:31Lina: That's crazy.
- 22:33Hanan: I can't find 3,562.
- 22:35Lina: No, I have literally 32 emails in my Gmail.
- 22:38Lina: I don't care.
- 22:38Lina: And it bothers me so much.
- 22:40Hanan: I'm on top of everything, but sometimes there's stuff that I'm just like, whatever, we'll just keep this underactive.
- 22:44Lina: I have to be organized.
- 22:45Lina: Like my like that would mess up.
- 22:46Lina: Like it's just I can't I have folders.
- 22:48Lina: No, that's stressful to me.
- 22:50Lina: No.
- 22:50Hanan: I don't care.
- 22:51Lina: Okay.
- 22:51Lina: Having a dinner party or hosting someone over for dinner.
- 22:54Hanan: That's stressful for me.
- 22:55Lina: That is stressful.
- 22:55Hanan: That is definitely stressful for me.
- 22:57Hanan: We just had a bunch of people over on Friday for my son's birthday.
- 23:01Hanan: And their family and his friends, it's not stressful.
- 23:05Hanan: I just want to make sure everybody's happy and well fed, and you know, that's it.
- 23:09Lina: Um I don't know why.
- 23:11Hanan: I have some friends that are like wonderful hosts.
- 23:14Lina: They make it seem effortless, right?
- 23:15Lina: Yes.
- 23:15Lina: Yeah.
- 23:16Lina: Yes.
- 23:16Lina: Yeah.
- 23:17Lina: I stopped hosting people after COVID.
- 23:20Lina: I'm just like, whatever.
- 23:21Lina: You weren't hosting people before COVID.
- 23:23Lina: What are you doing?
- 23:23Lina: Now they're gonna think, now they're gonna think I'm a cheap ass, dude.
- 23:29Lina: It's not about being cheap right now.
- 23:31Lina: No, how many times has your ass been over at my?
- 23:33Lina: Lina just doesn't like hosting people.
- 23:35Lina: That's not true.
- 23:35Lina: That that happened after COVID, dude.
- 23:37Lina: After COVID, everything never liked.
- 23:40Lina: You never liked hosting people.
- 23:42Lina: That's a big thing.
- 23:43Lina: That's not true.
- 23:44Lina: It's so true.
- 23:44Lina: It's so okay.
- 23:46Lina: You know what?
- 23:47Lina: No, no, no.
- 23:48Lina: This is really pissing me off.
- 23:50Lina: That's not true.
- 23:50Lina: These are these are like false accusations.
- 23:52Lina: These are our friends.
- 23:53Lina: I mean the allegations.
- 23:54Lina: They're not allegations.
- 23:56Lina: Don't listen to her.
- 23:57Hanan: She did not like hosting people.
- 23:58Hanan: When I say does not like hosting people, it's not it's not about not feeding them.
- 24:01Hanan: No, she always gets stressed out.
- 24:02Lina: No, that's not true.
- 24:03Hanan: She's leaving her house for 55 years before everybody comes over, and then 55 years after everybody comes over.
- 24:08Lina: I don't mind hosting people.
- 24:09Lina: Okay, but the ones I love.
- 24:11Lina: I stopped hosting people who I can give two shits about.
- 24:13Lina: Yeah, that's fine.
- 24:14Lina: Okay.
- 24:14Lina: So don't even say that.
- 24:16Lina: Take it back right now.
- 24:17Lina: Not gonna take it back.
- 24:18Lina: Okay, whatever.
- 24:19Lina: Such a hater.
- 24:20Lina: She doesn't.
- 24:21Lina: Okay.
- 24:21Lina: Um we're moving on.
- 24:24Lina: Okay, someone is walking slowly in front of you.
- 24:26Lina: I don't care.
- 24:27Lina: That pisses me off.
- 24:28Lina: It's not a stress.
- 24:30Lina: I really I could care less.
- 24:31Lina: It's an inconvenience for shit.
- 24:33Hanan: Most of the time, I'm in my own world.
- 24:34Hanan: I don't care.
- 24:34Lina: Like, I'm just like, get out of the way, dude.
- 24:35Lina: Go to go to the right.
- 24:36Hanan: Like do something.
- 24:37Hanan: I mean, pay attention to that.
- 24:39Lina: Um no, I pay attention.
- 24:40Lina: Um, you send you.
- 24:41Hanan: Clearly, you are moving through the world with a lot more pent-up anxiety and other issues than the rest of us.
- 24:48Lina: Whatever.
- 24:48Lina: Um, you accidentally send a message to the wrong group chat or person.
- 24:53Hanan: Oh, I've done that so many times.
- 24:54Lina: That is stressful.
- 24:55Hanan: Oh my god.
- 24:56Hanan: And it's not just it's stressful because you're just like, oh, I shouldn't have said that out loud.
- 25:00Lina: Yeah.
- 25:01Hanan: And it's always when it's something I shouldn't be sending, but okay.
- 25:05Lina: Yeah, I mean, obviously.
- 25:06Lina: Yeah, it's so bad.
- 25:06Lina: And then like you're just like, oh my god, so how do you get out of it?
- 25:09Hanan: You just don't.
- 25:09Lina: Yeah.
- 25:10Lina: You just face face the music.
- 25:11Lina: Exactly.
- 25:12Lina: You have to cook after working all day.
- 25:14Lina: That is stressful for me.
- 25:15Hanan: You know, if I just like had a plan, I have a plan like nine times out of ten, but like it's just the thinking of what am I gonna cook today?
- 25:21Hanan: I know.
- 25:22Hanan: It's doesn't it's not even stressful.
- 25:23Hanan: I just find it to be like an extra additional.
- 25:26Hanan: Like, I wish somebody came to me at the beginning of every week and was like, here's what you're making this week.
- 25:30Hanan: Totally fine with that, by the way.
- 25:31Hanan: Yeah, because as long as like I have the ingredients, I'm fine.
- 25:34Hanan: I'm just like, tell me what you want.
- 25:35Hanan: But it's just the the thinking of, you know, I made spinach yesterday, all on my own.
- 25:40Hanan: Nobody helped me.
- 25:41Hanan: Yeah, nobody helped me, nobody gave me thoughts.
- 25:44Hanan: You know why, guys?
- 25:45Hanan: Because I had leftover rice.
- 25:46Hanan: I was like, I have all of this rice from Friday.
- 25:49Hanan: Let's not let it go to waste.
- 25:51Lina: Yep.
- 25:51Lina: Okay, so this is the last one.
- 25:53Lina: Your kid doesn't answer the phone.
- 25:55Lina: That is stressful.
- 25:57Lina: I mean, I mean, unless you're following him on your phone.
- 26:00Hanan: So which is what I do, so it's fine.
- 26:02Hanan: Sometimes it's okay.
- 26:03Hanan: Like, it's totally fine, right?
- 26:06Hanan: Yeah.
- 26:07Lina: Okay, hold on.
- 26:08Hanan: So do so, like, let me ask you an actual, like, real question.
- 26:11Speaker: Tell me.
- 26:12Hanan: All of these things that we presented, uh, are they like actual stressful things or are they all of them together?
- 26:17Hanan: So that's what's first full problems.
- 26:19Hanan: Because I really do think about things like this, right?
- 26:23Hanan: Like I like like I said, when we when you were talking about the things that stress you out, and I said this year like change, right?
- 26:29Hanan: But even all the change I've had, some of it is good, some of it is very sad, some of it's it's disappointing, you know.
- 26:34Hanan: But none of it has except except with you know the passing of my dad, I has felt like earth shattering.
- 26:41Hanan: You know?
- 26:42Hanan: It's just working through my own feelings.
- 26:45Hanan: And it then when I really think about it, like even as we're talking through the episode, I'm like, I it makes me still feel like super grateful.
- 26:52Hanan: Like nothing I've had is like I have my health, alhamdulillah.
- 26:55Hanan: Everybody in my life is is uh is is doing okay.
- 26:59Hanan: Um like you know, like this week, it's just I was stressed about a lot of things, and then I met up with a friend who's going through a lot health-wise right now.
- 27:07Hanan: And when this person tells you, Oh, you know, my numbers aren't good, yeah, then it's very sobering because you're like, okay, yeah, we're doing all right.
- 27:18Lina: No, for sure.
- 27:18Lina: I totally, I totally agree.
- 27:20Lina: You know, at the end of the day, I think, and I and I've said this to you before, like having uh your health and your family's health, your kids, your husband, my house, yeah, just my regular things that I can sit there and like you know, I don't know, like have all these existential thoughts in, right?
- 27:38Hanan: Makes me feel like, okay, like I'm are my I like I always go back to the same things of are my problems actual problems, right?
- 27:46Hanan: Is my stress actual stress?
- 27:47Hanan: And that's why when we talked earlier, I was like, let me define what my stress is, it's change.
- 27:51Hanan: And I not so much have a hard time, it just makes me feel like I'm like it, I don't know.
- 27:58Hanan: It like decenters me for some reason when all these things happen together.
- 28:02Lina: So yeah, there's one one last thing, it's fun.
- 28:05Hanan: Okay, I love how I'm serious about this, and she's like, I have something.
- 28:09Lina: Because people want to like be like it's supposed to that's true.
- 28:12Lina: Yeah, that's true.
- 28:13Hanan: We're we're talking about it, but we also want to like provide some a window of nonsense, yeah, some some relief, something, some laughter, yeah.
- 28:22Lina: Okay, so this is just a game, basically, like who handles uh stress, but I'm gonna give you something and neither of us.
- 28:29Lina: No, no, wait a second, I'm gonna give you examples, okay?
- 28:32Lina: And then it's gonna be you're gonna point to me or I'm gonna point to you.
- 28:35Lina: Okay, okay.
- 28:35Lina: All right.
- 28:36Lina: All right.
- 28:36Lina: Who spirals faster?
- 28:38Lina: Definitely.
- 28:39Hanan: 100%.
- 28:39Lina: Definitely faster.
- 28:40Lina: 100%.
- 28:40Lina: Yes, okay.
- 28:41Lina: Who assumes the worst?
- 28:43Lina: 100%.
- 28:44Lina: 100%.
- 28:46Hanan: Yes.
- 28:47Lina: Uh who stress cleans?
- 28:48Lina: Definitely.
- 28:49Hanan: I hate to clean.
- 28:50Lina: I hate to clean too, but that's 100%.
- 28:53Hanan: That's definitely that's remember what I said about the dinner party?
- 28:55Hanan: She'd be cleaning for five years before, five years after.
- 28:58Lina: Okay, who stress eats?
- 28:59Lina: I think b both of us.
- 29:00Lina: I don't really stress eat.
- 29:01Lina: I used to, not anymore.
- 29:02Lina: I definitely do.
- 29:03Lina: No, not anymore.
- 29:03Hanan: I don't really stress eat.
- 29:04Hanan: I doom scroll when I'm stressed.
- 29:08Hanan: Doom scroll?
- 29:08Hanan: Because it makes my brain like, you know, not and remember, we we're like, I don't really keep snacks anymore.
- 29:13Hanan: So that's that helps.
- 29:14Lina: Oh please.
- 29:15Lina: My house is filled with snacks.
- 29:16Hanan: I know.
- 29:17Lina: Um, who disappears?
- 29:19Lina: Definitely me.
- 29:20Lina: 100%.
- 29:20Lina: 100%.
- 29:21Lina: Like when I am going through something, Lena's under a rock.
- 29:25Lina: Literally, in a hole under a rock.
- 29:29Lina: Yes.
- 29:29Lina: Yeah.
- 29:30Lina: Yeah, I definitely disappear.
- 29:31Lina: Okay.
- 29:32Lina: Um, who needs to talk about it immediately?
- 29:34Lina: Definitely.
- 29:34Hanan: All the time.
- 29:35Hanan: Immediately before, after, during everything.
- 29:37Lina: That's definitely you.
- 29:38Lina: I don't need to talk about anything ever.
- 29:39Lina: Okay.
- 29:40Lina: I'm like, let me just be within my own thoughts and I'm fine.
- 29:44Lina: Okay.
- 29:44Lina: Okay.
- 29:46Lina: Yeah.
- 29:46Lina: Um, who says I'm fine when they're absolutely not fine?
- 29:49Lina: No, you definitely you definitely she's pointing at me.
- 29:56Hanan: I literally just finished saying I talk about my feelings.
- 29:58Hanan: She's just like, yeah, I never talk about how I feel when I disappear.
- 30:03Lina: You're so funny for that.
- 30:04Lina: Well, it's true.
- 30:06Lina: I guess you're right.
- 30:07Lina: I'm gonna have to admit.
- 30:08Lina: Definitely.
- 30:10Lina: Okay.
- 30:10Lina: All right.
- 30:12Lina: Listen, I hope, I hope we brought some.
- 30:16Hanan: Honestly, that's the that's the I'm I look at these.
- 30:19Hanan: Here's what I, you know, since we said we're talking about stress and stuff.
- 30:21Hanan: I look at these podcast episodes, one, um, they're they really are therapeutic for me.
- 30:27Lina: Because I feel like I don't shake because you're shaking the table.
- 30:30Hanan: I always do that.
- 30:31Lina: Yeah.
- 30:31Hanan: And then yeah, but uh the camera.
- 30:33Hanan: But no, I look at these podcast episodes, they're very like therapeutic for me, right?
- 30:36Hanan: And I think for you too.
- 30:37Hanan: Yeah.
- 30:38Hanan: We sit here.
- 30:39Hanan: Is there a little bit stressful, uh, stressful uh stress in the planning?
- 30:42Hanan: Yes, but I think we like sit here, we talk about how we feel, and sometimes things arise out of nowhere because I'd love to go off on different tangents.
- 30:49Hanan: But the goal always at the end is I truly feel like we're hanging out with our friends on the internet.
- 30:53Lina: Yes, and also like this is like we like I said before, like it's our time, it's our thing.
- 30:58Lina: It is, it really is, and I love that.
- 31:00Lina: I love that it's like we always make time to do whether you know we get millions of views or 50 seconds.
- 31:06Lina: I don't even care about the stuff.
- 31:07Lina: I don't even care, you know, it's for us.
- 31:08Lina: It is, it really is.
- 31:09Lina: I love how we pat ourselves on the back.
- 31:11Lina: And you know what?
- 31:14Lina: Life is stressful, life is stressful, but you know what keep um, I think the point uh of us doing this for me anyway, are there are some things uh that truly are stressful, and inshallah things get better, but there are some things we kind of like, and I'm guilty of this.
- 31:30Lina: I need to kind of like chill, relax, and put things in perspective.
- 31:34Lina: No, I'm good.
- 31:36Hanan: I don't know what and go to therapy.
- 31:38Hanan: Yeah, I think Lena would be a much happier person if she went to therapy.
- 31:41Lina: You would be happy.
- 31:42Lina: Who did I complain to you that I'm unhappy?
- 31:44Hanan: You don't have to complain, it is all over your fibromyalgia body, okay?
- 31:50Lina: Dude, I'm convinced of that.
- 31:52Hanan: I don't think you have fibromyalgia, but I'm not a doctor.
- 31:54Hanan: And if there's any doctors out there, you can't really help us because you haven't seen her blood work and you haven't seen anything about her, so it's fine.
- 32:02Lina: And this is why she needs to go to therapy.
- 32:05Hanan: She needs to go to therapy because, and look, I get it.
- 32:08Hanan: Everybody does things on their own time.
- 32:09Hanan: But 100%, you're somebody that when you face what's actually bothering you, it freaks you the fuck out.
- 32:16Hanan: And Lena's like, I can't believe it's happening.
- 32:18Hanan: And she knows it's happening, but I do think her brain gets like a little shocked or something.
- 32:23Lina: The way I deal with stress is like, like I said, I definitely disappear.
- 32:26Hanan: She puts it aside and she's like, This is not real for a little bit.
- 32:29Lina: No, no, it's not even about it's not real.
- 32:31Lina: I just don't want to talk about it.
- 32:32Hanan: But I'm gonna tell you something.
- 32:33Hanan: Here is how like if I could tell here is Lina's arc of processing a problem.
- 32:37Hanan: Okay, let me in the beginning, she's like, I'm not gonna talk about it because it doesn't exist.
- 32:41Hanan: If I don't think about it, then it's not there.
- 32:43Hanan: And then one day she wakes up and realizes that this is now something that has to be solved or or has to be, you know, processed.
- 32:50Hanan: Because some things don't have a solution.
- 32:52Hanan: You just gotta deal with it.
- 32:53Hanan: And then she tries and tries, and she's so annoyed the entire time when things aren't going the way that she wants.
- 33:00Hanan: And then one day she realizes that this is not something that she needs to worry about slash fix that this is something, it is what it is, it's just gonna be this way.
- 33:13Hanan: She makes her peace with it, and then the problem is done.
- 33:16Hanan: But tell me, I did not just name that perfectly.
- 33:22Hanan: Whereas me if you were to see the arc is like that's it.
- 33:29Lina: That's it.
- 33:30Lina: That's literally what it is.
- 33:31Lina: Anyway, hopefully this brought some laughter to you guys.
- 33:34Lina: Yes.
- 33:35Lina: Until next week, inshallah.
